i ran the breast cancer awareness marathon!!!! watching so many people participate so enthusiastically filled my heart. later i went to meet a friend (and i got my nails done uwu) and then finished some chem lab reports in the afternoon.

tag yourself: note takers edition

Takes digital notes: tries to keep up with notetaking but eventually falls behind after 5 lectures, drinks coffee only to stay awake, tries the aesthetic of drinking hot tea while taking notes but fails, wakes up early once in a century and thinks they’ve reached their peak, wants a better organisation system but is too tired, worries about studyspo for 2 mins before saying fuck it

Takes handwritten notes: have really nice handwriting but they don't realise it themselves, headers!! are!! everything!!, have a love-hate relationship with taking notes, studying only when they feel like it, only writes key points as notes because everything else is too much, drifts off a lot while notetaking to daydream

Doesn't take notes: wears hoodies like 90% of the time, tries really hard to take care of themselves but it's hard™, hair in a bun because hairstyles?? too much work, yells “fuck the system” as they study more than anyone else, studies straight from books and Knows what to study, can't study for more than 45 mins at a time, is productive nonetheless, kinda exhausted but still carrying on

Takes notes only in class: take! notes! in! class! save! your! time! fuckers!, in a constant state of chaos but they'll never admit, have a great relationship with the professors, raises eyebrows at everything it's a Brand, likes lunch dates a lot, hates people who talk during lectures, wants a vacation already

Is still rotating between handwriting and typed notes: “did we have any homework” at the beginning of every lecture, is really friendly but tired of everything, likes laughing at stupid jokes, hates studying but is still doing it anyway, Major Chaos™, everyone loves them but they don't have a lot of close friends, will fight for their friends to death, the mood: they're just being their ball of anxiety, let them live thnx

about me

my name is sydney

i’m 17 years old

i am a senior in high school

nickname: Kid :) some people like to go deep into the psychology of this when I tell them to call me Kid but I just really like the sound of the word Kid okay??? and it fits my personality. and it kinda makes me feel like The Dude from the big labowski. it just works okay. Also my dad calls me R which is an epic nickname imo but it belongs to my dad

star sign: Virgo, Taurus moon

height: 5′4 or something

last film I watched: I generally watch series rather than movies, but I think it was 13 going on 30? (I guess that’s why I have’t watched another one since…)

favourite musician: at the moment it’s MARINA

song stuck in my head: Durban Skies - Bastille (probably my least favourite of their songs but it was playing in the car just now and hey it’s about South Africa I have to like it)

what am I wearing: high waisted tracksuit pants and a pale yellow crop top

dream job: youtuber, musician, filmmaker and model. Basically I want to be famous because that gives me the power to change the world and educate people, and something like a youtuber gives my audience the opportunity to better understand who I am and the actual motives behind what I do, rather than just being a mysterious rich person. And I’d prefer to have multiple ways of earning money to avoid creative dry spells.

dream trip: skiing in/near Tokyo!

play any instruments: I play the piano and the violin, and I sing. I’ve had a guitar now for 2 years and I still can’t play it (it’s an Alvarez parlour guitar and it’s beautiful)

languages: I pretty much just speak English. In school we learn Afrikaans for all 12 years but I’m still on an “understanding but not speaking” level, also we did Xhosa in junior school but I probably know more Italian than I do Xhosa and I never even learnt Italian,, plus I did French for 2 years in hs but I’m bad at it.

favourite food: this is so hard but uhh those cling peaches that are firm and fluffy and are actually solid peach colour rather than red/pink/yellow

favourite song: I don’t think I can pick a favourite but one that comes to mind is Walking in the Garden - Alice Phoebe Lou

random fact: I really like milkshakes and I can down a double thick in like 10 seconds flat

Hi! My name is Sylve, and after following tons of studyblrs and reading through them all religiously every morning, I decided to finally take the plunge and create one myself!

About me:

I live in the US and I’m in 8th grade

I’m an INFJ-T and a 4 on the enneagram

I love any shade of blue

I’m a hufflepuff

I’m part of the LGBTQ+ community

I’ve never really posted on tumblr before so I’m still learning how to use it

I’m currently taking English 8, Science 8, Social Studies 8 (US history), Geometry, Spanish 1, and I’m doing Algebra 2 to prepare for next year

Why I created this blog and what will be on it:

To help increase my productivity and have something to look back on

It seems like an interesting thing to do and I hope I can motivate other people

Typical of me to finally settle into a good routine only to get a cold and lie in bed for a week. Oh well, I’m all better now, I’m finishing up a coursera course I’ve been taking on poetry, and I’ve learned to crochet so that’s fun🧶
