Well since I was given permission (and we all should work do bring back ask culture):

I think what I like most about the sacrifice wq thing is that WQ and WWX are very very good at pushing debts/favors back and forth. And then suddenly they weren’t both dead and she gives him all she has left, all she is really. How do you come back from that? Someone you knew not just throwing away their position in a sect, but giving up your whole existence - how do you repay that?

Like, in canon WWX doesn’t linger too much on MXY’s sacrifice, but MXY is a poor stranger. It’s different if you speak and always bluffer because you know the person speaking, wondering if they’re talking to you before realizing oh. No. That’s you in your new body.

yes!! and. AND! not only is there nothing more wwx can do to repay her for this (i’m still not over him using her core btw), he’s pretty fucking sure he’s already failed her. he lost all of the wens as far as he knows. wn is the only one left and it is very obvious that saving him will be wwx’s number one priority immediately post resurrection. but everyone else is fucking gone. so what the hell is he supposed to do for her now?!

and the voice thing, the reflection thing…… so voices sound different when you’re hearing them from outside your head vs inside your head. so it would be unlikely that wwx would freak himself out too much with his own voice. but you know who would have a really fucking hard time with it? his one and only companion, friend, perfect cinnamon roll baby brother, and the only reason he’s here at all: wn. and wwx is going to have to watch him flinch over and over again. which, ouch. because what the fuck is he supposed to do with that.

plus there’ll be times walking by water or other reflective surfaces when he’ll see his own face. or see wq’s hands out of the corner of his eye. the hands that pulled his core from his chest; the hands that were never too far from his own washing laundry or planting radishes… haunted by this person whom he can’t help but see everywhere anyway. just. pain. lots of pain! (which is why we love it!)

Okay so 👀 what is the “What The Fuck Hannah” WIP?

YEAH this one was actually from 2020 and I resurrected it AND posted it a couple days ago.

It's an X-Files fic about Mulder and Scully being internet rivals... told from the perspective of a Fanlore article written 30 years after the fact lol. It plays a bit with html/css, so it looks better on desktop, but it should also be mobile friendly!

It's called "what the fuck Hannah" because I haven't watched the X-Files in about a decade, and the idea simply. Possessed me.

Hard to put a good snippet because the writing is dry on purpose, but it IS a comedy!

Designing for the MDZS characters is my favorite kind of challenge, because everybody belongs to a group or a sect that has its own general aesthetic, so I get to design for individuals within a cohesive whole. I try to design based less on what I personally want a character to wear and more on what I think they might actually dress themselves in, filtered through a lens of what sect they belong to and what AU this is.

For example, obviously Nie Huiasang and Nie Mingjue are going to have wildly different approaches to how they get dressed and what they choose to wear, but they're both extremely high-ranking members of the Nie sect, so what similarities are there?

What that means in terms of inspo is that I have pinterest boards dedicated to each of the sects and factions, and then whenever I do a new design, I'll look up inspo for the style in question, take the pieces I like, and adapt it to fit the vibes of the sect and individual.

I also have a couple massive pinterest boards just dedicated to clothes, jewelry, hairstyles, makeup, tattoos -- and on and on and on. I'm constantly adding to these every time I see something cool, and I scroll through and give them a look when I want more inspo.

I follow a ton of fashion blogs and fashion artists, too. I really try to just always be soaking up as much inspo as possible.

7: Any worldbuilding you’re particularly proud of?

This is a hard question for me because my worldbuilding is ALWAYS the thing I am most proud of aksjdhf

My one piece East Blue kitchen traditions spring to mind, which is largely a private-server specific thing, but comes up in These Hands We Were Dealt May Splinter in a way I am very proud of. I've put A Lot of thought into East Blue worldbuilding in particular, akjsdhf, so I have a lot of affection for all of those thoughts!

As always, need to give our beloved conlang a shout out, because even two years later I am still really proud of the work we did embedding philosophical concepts into grammar.

My two honorable mentions will be the three different court systems in To Hold a Heart in Triplicate AU (I promise the next chapter to this is cooking, aksjdfh) and, most recently, my Contingencies series, where I attempted to wrangle the powers in mob psycho 100 into a system that makes sense and think I did an okay job with it!

Despite being only a knight, Aayla is one of the best combatants in the order. So I still have a lot of thoughts on this au!!!

First off! Archivist!Sasha is a thing cuz Jon isn't there to be Jonah's key or whatever. That bit is explanatory. I changed the color of her Eye powers because... 🤷🏾 And she's still getting marked. This drawing you can assume is around the same time as s3 in canon, so when Jon is getting tossed around by all the Avatars.

Except in this au, Sasha actually finds an ally in all of this, who can sympathize and comfort and not try to kill her. And is also alive :)

Anyways so she finds comfort in Jon who basically helps her feel more human when every supernatural being around her is telling her she isn't. This is not a romantic thing!! Just friends bonding over trauma. If you want romance, you should check out @clairebearsparkles comic where Jon meets Martin in this au. Or their work on the pre-death JonGerry relationship. It's adorable :3

So yeah, they share personal statements with each other and stay in contact (think Jon and Basira s2 except without the dubious motives) after the meeting. And it's just a generally better time for both of them than canon

I saw your post about WQ surviving and summoning WWX back in her body and it lives rent free in my head. Do you, by chance, have more thoughts on that— 👀

Hello! Sorry it took me a minute to get back to you, and thank you so much!! I'm so happy you like that one :D

Okay, so, I mostly came up with this for two reasons: the Angst — this is like the ultimate expression, the final form of you will, of the “you save my brother, I save yours, you save me, I save you” thing WWX and WQ have going on throughout the series, and I imagine WWX dealing with All That would be… brutal >:) (I also kind of imagine that it would take a minute for WWX to figure it out because first he’s still dealing with having girl parts; the hands look a little familiar but they also look like hands; the voice sounds completely different when he’s using it vs hearing it; there aren’t a lot of mirrors around; she’s probably been wearing Koi Tower servant robes for a while now etc. so we get all the way to Wen Ning’s cell/torture room where our best boy WN who has a Connection with WWX tilts his head like a confused puppy and asks, “Jie?” and then WWX has to Not Have a Breakdown about it in front of like JGY and/or XY.)

And second: the strangeness for LWJ of having WWX returned to him in a body he knows and recognizes as someone else. (Now it’s been a minute since I read the novel and I’m def mostly going off CQL for this, but I think that’s still accurate in original canon?) There would be super weird politics about it and some lingering difficulty of seeing who he thinks he’s seeing that would be fascinating to play with. On WWX's side, we would get to add the further ostracizing of him as a Wen sympathizer/their savior/not actual blood family.

Plus, I think genderswapped resurrections are fun with Wei "gender is a side dish" Ying and Lan "it's only ever been one person, what even is sexuality" Zhan.

All that said, I have written approximately none of this. I have like two paragraphs of WQ pov prologue prose and a bunch of nonsense rolling around in my head… so. Not sure how much of this I’ll ever write. But if you or anybody else wants it, I’m all for team two cakes!

In the spirit of the wips ask post, I will add here the tiny bit I have written :)

She doesn't have much time. They'll notice that she's missing soon and then they'll come looking. She needs cinnabar, she needs a knife. She needs this to work. She needs this to work. Wen Qing is a brilliant doctor; she won't feign modesty about it, especially not now. But she cannot help her brother as a doctor. Not unless she wants to kill him. She's thought about it. This plan is better.

So the currently top contenders are Sterek (it's like I'm back in 2012 with how far into these feels I am), Obikin (it's had a tight hold on me since 2020, even if I'm not showing it much love right now) and Stevetony.

2. first ever ship - Cory x Shawn x Topanga from Boy Meets World. Though I could also argue that it was Faith x Buffy from BtVS or Xena x Gabrielle from XWP. I kind of fell into all three roughly around the same time, so not entirely sure which is the true first one for me.
