ok so like. originally seán made a game about the egos that was so successfull that a company that makes movies approached him with an offer to make a movie based on his game

BUT

we all know what seán is doing to these characters now, the anomaly found video and the comics are just the tip of the iceberg. so, let's revamp the actor au!!

(backstory, info about the actors and some headcanons under the cut)

before we properly start: seán is friends with a guy named antony; they started to talk when "jacksepticeye" was created, antony used to help him with some of the editing. so, in this universe, antony was one of the editors along with alice

seán always discussed this story with his editors, and antony was the one that really motivated, gave new stories, reasons, showed how he could make it better, and act better as well!! he's an actor too :]

so, when seán (i'm repeating his name too much sorry) started to change the route of the story and said he wanted something more serious, antony (and a team, ofc) helped him develop Anomaly Found. and for all his help and ideas, seán asked his friend to portray anti from now on. and antony couldn't be more honoured

so, anomaly found happens! seán's chase here like irl. and the comics come out, and much more stuff, etc etc. to give the egos an ending, he decides to make it a movie, but since he couldn't like. act as 5 dudes and at the same time help with production, he decided to hire actors!

Seán and Antony were the ones to make the auditions, and they both wanted actors that could bring their experiences and thoughts into the characters

bc of that, Elias' german (but not a doctor, that'd be asking too much), George's mute and Patrick's autistic

Elias is very good at acting as Henrik, but he's not like him in the slightest. he's the youngest of the crew and a big jokester

despite that, he loves Henrik to bits! he's always doing lives and videos like "henrik answers your questions" while they're filming

this is Ryan's first big budget movie, and he's kinda nervous about it

different from Chase, he isn't married and honestly hates alcohool. when asked, he usually says "so is anyone interested in being my stacy? aside from the divorce and well. the horrors"

Elias jokes he's much more like initial Chase (he watched all the videos about the egos, even if Seán said it's not necessary bc a lot changed) and Ryan's much more like fanon Henrik

Patrick and Ryan are the most serious of the crew, it's hard to get a smile out of them. that doesn't mean they don't enjoy the movie or their company, ofc!

Antony's a dad! his son plays as Chase's kid bc it was the only kid that wasn't scared of Anti's makeup (and the antiaverage shippers of this universe enjoy this fact a lot)

Oliver and George are the ones who unintentionally spoil the most

Oliver looovees to talk and read about Marvin shipps. he's feeding the marvelsepticeye shippers very well!

Patrick on the other side isn't very happy in joining his shenanigans lol

George is a modern man, he loves his cellphone and his bluetooth earphones, so acting as Jameson (a man from 1920s) was a bit of a challenge to him, but he loves challenges!

he's very vocal about ableism towards mute people. and also very vocal about jj's sexual life

if they ever went to buzzfeed to promote the movie, Patrick would loooove the puppy interviews and George and Elias would loooove the "[x] reads thirst tweets"

Elias: ofc, who doesn't? i used to watch his videos all the time! what do you mean he's the one behind this

Ryan: i used to watch a bit when i was younger, we're the same age so it was like hanging out with a friend. what do you mean he's the one behind this

Junicrane/Starstruck Ramble

I will not be brief, all under the cut

To clear some things right off the bat:

No corpse, no proof with Juniper. Obligatory this is set in a canon where he's alive and adjacent to the agency in some way.

Reggie & Juniper are just gay to me, but I don't mind any interpretation of their sexuality

The games are set in 1967/68 to me (based on a couple bits in game) which is before it was legal to be gay in America at least (1971), which is relevant to how I interpret canon as being somewhat grounded in reality, despite unrealistic elements.

This is just an insane amount of headcanons/elements of and AU all culminated into one post. I will talk about some headcanons like they're just facts because they are established in my head, and it saves me over explaining literally everything, however I will explain some parts a little bit for clarity.

Alright. Actual beginning of the ramble:

Juniper is a character to me who had gotten so lost in his job as an actor and a social presence that in the end his whole life revolved around that 'role'. Because of this, by the time he's put into the situation where he's around the Agency, he basically knows nothing about himself, though he doesn't realise at first. Furthermore, what little identity he had has changed in so many ways. He's no longer a beloved famous actor in the prominence of public light, he's legally dead and he tarnished his career just before he was supposed to die, with the bonus of that making him lose the majority of his estate. From that, he also has horrific facial scarring from the electrical burns from literally having his face fried. I believe a friend of mine made a post about this a while ago (I also think they were the first to think it up also), but, to me, Juniper has a permanent trimmer in his right arm (aka his dominant hand) from the electrical current and it is messing with his nervous system.

All in all, he's not doing great, but he's too proud to admit that he's not doing great, because if anything, what's left of his ego is all he has as a defense since he's deep in unfamiliar water.

Before ending up around the agency (I have multiple interpretations of this, so I'm just going to bring it up generally), he'd never actually seen Reggie, and his only impression of him is a single voicemail, which was his only reference he had to later impersonate him. Juniper probably has very little feelings other than the ones he projects onto him because of Phoenix and that, at the very least, he's physically attracted to Reggie to some degree (that's like the beginning of how everything else would tumble into place in this sort of interpretation at least).

And on Crane's side? His feelings towards Juniper are probably very intense and muddled. On the one hand, he adores musical theatre, and that's his now ex-favourite actor. The thought of just casually being around him blows the bit of fanboy in him away at first because THAT'S the GUY, plus the inklings of a celebrity crush which still poke at him. And then there's the rational side of him, which knows Juniper has committed absolute atrocities on the side of Zoraxis, and hates him for that. Then there's how much Juniper comes off as an asshole at first because he refuses to cooperate with anything the Agency tried to put in place. He finds Juniper endlessly frustrating, and yet he's stuck working with him since, afterall, he's the one who knows the Agency's history with Juniper the best. I imagine him acting a lot like how he does IEYTD 1 around Juniper.

At this point, I'm just describing the pitch for a romcom.

I think the start of their relationship with one another largely started with Juniper trying to wind Crane up. It was a way of getting his attention, and I don't think Juniper knows why he's so dead set on that at first, because I don't think he realises he has a crush on 'this grump' at first. (I think that's actually the fun part about these two, because it's almost like a role reversal of the celebrity crush dynamic. This ex-big name actor has a TERRIBLE crush on an average joe and it is KILLING HIM.) But of course the Agency keeps them together because Juniper is at least conversing with Crane, so it's a start.

Through one way or another, they actually get talking casually, at least mildly at first. It takes Juniper a long time to fully deconstruct the wall he's built, and the thing is, Crane isn't the one trying to deconstruct it, at least at first, because yeah, Juniper realises if he wants Reggie to actually like him in any way, he can't keep winding him up. So they talk. Small talk at first, something rhythmic and almost easy to keep to a script. And over time that turns into actual conversations. Genuine ones in which Reggie rips out the occasional one of his jokes which Juniper is endlessly endeared about. The way he smiles just before he makes them, like he wants to chuckle at what he's about to say before he says it. That's probably when Juniper realised that he does have some vague crush on him, and that it wasn't going away.

This is what kickstarts John I can't-buy-you-things-to-impress-you-so-acts-of-service-it-is Juniper to do little things for him. It mostly starts off as him trying to make Reggie his tea how he likes it. However, the nerve damage in his arm makes that hard, as the weight of the kettle and trying to pour is hard all of a sudden. And he refuses to accept that, so he tries for a very long while. Long enough that Crane would go to investigate what was going on. And when he does see Juniper leaning over a cup with the kettle as he uneasily tries to pour it, and when Crane asks Juniper responds so matter-of-fact that his intention is nothing but genuine. And it catches Reggie off guard because Juniper hadn't done anything like that up to that point, and his very apparent vulnerability is so clearly on show.

It shifts something between them.

From that point on, conversations are longer, more familiar. Both of their attitudes soften, and Reggie makes more jokes. Juniper learns how to better use his left hand while strengthening his right back to a point where it could be used again. Slowly, they're both spending time with one another not because they have to, but just because they can. Little bits at first, not too far outside what they already were doing, but those little bits turned into long bits to a point where the other person's company was genuinely desirable.

As time passes, Juniper probably realises that he doesn't genuinely know much about himself or what hobbies he's into, because he never really had the time when he got big, and his home life in his youth wasn't bad, but it wasn't picturesque. I think Reggie would pick up on it, and absolutely try to introduce him to some things he's into. Some things stick, other things don't (corn husking very much stays Reggie's passion, and John will go with him sometimes because it's him, but it's not something he strongly cares for). Crane introduces him to a lot of music, and it's something that becomes a staple between them, with tracks they listen to more than others (tragically, I know relatively little about 60s music so I couldn't really say what). Occasionally they dance, never anything intense, think slow dancing, but the closeness is nice.

Through all of it, Juniper is battling the worst crush of his life, and he can't stand it, because I think he struggles to read people since he doesn't have anything like a script or a director to refer back to, so he has no idea if Reggie likes him back or if he's just desperate for that to be true. I think because of that any sort of confession between them would be incredibly raw, not only because of the time they live in making it hard for them to be truthful about how they love, but because it's a complete show of Juniper who's worked to be this better person. I don't exactly know how that would go, mainly because I don't have one set version of their dynamic, this post is just a generalisation of main consistent points.

Reggie does like him back, because he's gotten used to Juniper being just this guy, not a figure in the public eye, not a Zoraxis lackey, and not any sort of Agency operative (despite being under their care to some degree). He's someone he genuinely cares for, because they've given one another the time of day to learn one another, and I think because Reggie was a field agent, he was a lot better at reading Juniper than Juniper was at reading him. Eventually Juniper's company becomes something he could see around him for the rest of his life, and I think he accepts that he likes Juniper a lot more gracefully.

I think any affection directed at Juniper would at first be met with him feeling a little muddled. Reggie was a very physically affectionate person when he could be, and sure the initial flirting with one another came with the occasional little touches, but everything now was so deeply intentional. I also don't think Juniper would almost ever get over the novelty of being able to kiss him, or many other gestures, because it made the fact that they were together so very real, and it was great. I do think it comes easier to Reggie, and it's a big way of showing how much he cares, so it's important for Juniper to try and show it back because he knows how much it means to the other.

I like the idea of them eventually living with one another, too. I think Juniper would have always had a quiet little daydream of sorts where he does just live a domestic quiet life, and he can with Reggie (well, as close as they can get between the Agency and Zoraxis always being at odds), and he loves that, and he loves him, and it's immense.

I think they cook for one another a lot, it helps Juniper work on his dexterity in a controlled environment, which means a lot because it's a huge point of insecurity (that and his scars). He does improve, and Crane is proud of that and shows it and it's great. I also think they'd probably cook together too, because they can deal with being in the kitchen together and they work well with one another. It's probably a good way for them to unwind because over time they can do it in relative silence.

As I said before, I also think music is a staple in their household, and that Reggie listens to things on vinyl almost all of the time because he likes the background noise. Sometimes Juniper will catch him chuntering along to the music which he finds endlessly endearing. I wouldn't put it past his dramatic ass to also join in to fluster Reggie, but I also don't think Reggie would mind that terribly because Juniper has listened to the music enough to know the lyrics, and that's huge to him.

I don't think they are without rough patches, no relationship is, but I think the good part about them is that they're willing to talk about it (... eventually). They're used to long conversations, and while they're often less fun conversations, they're needed and they know that, and it works out.

Alright. I think I'm done for now. I haven't mentioned everything, but this definitely got the worst of it out of my system. If you ever want to hear any specific thoughts my ask box is open but other than that, behold my general dynamic for these two which has been festering in my head for years. I think they're great

Ho, hoooo~ That sounds like a fun little AU right there. I hope you don’t mind if I specifically use my version of sunshine, Alice, for this answer. It might help me get inspired to make another AU short fic for her and Jack... or rather Joseph. ;3

Hmm... lots of ways to take this. For example, I could go with a similar angle I used for my Vampire AU, in that everything is basically the same, just Joseph was a werewolf before he died, which now makes him a werewolf ghost(?) who was released from this cursed VHS prison by Alice.

Buuuut that would be Jack and not Joseph wouldn’t it? After all, he would be in the persona of the character of Sunny Day Jack, so let’s go with the college AU as our basis, shall we? I’m sure that version of Joseph would make a fine yandere werewolf.

Thanks for indulging my side-tangent, now back to the headcanons.

I haven’t really touched on the College AU before, but now’s as good of a time as any, just with a little supernatural twist to it. There’s not really any “canon” lore to this AU, just Joseph looking pretty stylish as a college student, so I’m just gonna go crazy and have fun with it. Okay? Okay!

First off, it’s modern day, with cell phones, super fancy coffee drink shops, and obscene student loan debts. Joseph’s family/school life has been shit like in the normal universe, with parents who don’t love him (and probably regret ever having him), but he didn’t run away from home (or if he did, he eventually went back). Instead, he doubled down on his education to get a college scholarship that’ll get him the hell away from his shitty home life and hometown.

Of course, being a student reliant on a scholarship for his funds, Joseph has to work his ass off to maintain high enough grades to keep it. This leads to a lot of late nights, dark circles under his eyes, and a rewards card at the local Sunbucks coffee shop that gets used more than his phone. He gets so much coffee there that the barista even learned how to spell his name right!

The college happens to be the same unnamed college that Alice(/MC), Shaun, and Ian attended. Joseph, being interested in acting, winds up in some of the same classes as the three.

Now, we could say things in this continuity are mostly the same as canon, with Alice and Ian dating at the start of college. This would be when Joseph gets to meet his sunshine while being an ordinary college student instead of a ghost(?) clown actor. Jealousy and love triangles ensue.

But, nah, let’s shake that timeline up little more with some of that werewolf spice, shall we? In fact, let’s rewind the timeline just a little to some events before college starts.

Joseph comes from a pack of werewolves. His parents are still unloving and don’t pay attention to him, but man does being a supernatural creature complicate matters even more. There’s the whole pack hierarchy with alphas and what not (which even Joseph knows is something real wolves don’t do, but then again real wolves don’t transform or have supernatural nonsense going on with them either). You have to be the biggest and strongest to get any power or attention, which is more reason for him to go through a rebellious stage... only this period of teenage angst involves fangs and claws instead of a pocket knife.

So why then, did Joseph not run away from home in this universe when things feel even more isolating for him? He did, but this time it was during a full moon after a particularly rough tumble with his pack. He made it to an area without local wolves of any variety, and on that moonlit night he found himself a ray of sunshine.

Alice’s childhood home has a large backyard that leads into a forest. Being familiar with these woods and with no dangerous wildlife to speak of in the area, it wasn’t at all out of the ordinary for her to take a late night stroll. When she heard a faint whimpering, she assumed it was one of the family dogs. What she found in the dim light of the moon and her cell phone’s flashlight app was a juvenile “dog” with dark chocolate colored fur that had a pretty blue shine where the light hit it.

The poor thing was all covered in cuts, and growled at the strange human approaching him when she got close. Alice felt sorry for it, but knew better than to get too close. Joseph wasn’t exactly happy about being found, and was relieved when she left, only to be surprised when she returned with a couple bowls, one filled with dogfood and the other water.

Joseph figured out her misunderstanding and found it kind of funny. This stranger was treating him as a dog more kindly than his parents or his teachers ever did, speaking soothingly and not getting too close. He snubbed the dogfood because he wasn’t that desperate yet, but he was thirsty after running away so far.

Alice smelled pretty nice to Joseph, really nice in fact. He got closer to her to get a better sniff of her scent underneath the artificial perfumes of her soap and deodorant. She knew better than to move when he got closer, lest she startle him, and he decided to be cheeky and lick her hand when he noticed some cookie crumbs still stuck to her fingers.

What Joseph didn’t expect was that Alice took that as a sign he wanted to be petted. It was startling, to say the least. No one had ever pet him before, not even his parents!

Then again, they didn’t hug him either.

It felt... nice. Far nicer than it had any right to feel, especially after he felt so shitty after getting roughed up by his shitty pack. Joseph melted under the touch and leaned into Alice as she used both hands to put him so gently, his tail wagging for the first time in forever.

Werewolves hid among humanity, but didn’t have much respect for them. Joseph didn’t see a reason to respect humans or werewolves, but this one... this one felt nice, really, really nice. Maybe it was just because of the full moon making him feel more wolf-like and instinctive, but he thought maybe it wouldn’t be so bad to be this human’s pet... at least until he recovered from his injuries. He shouldn’t stay too long in case one of his pack decided to track him down to punish him for running away. 

Alice felt so warm, and Joseph wanted more of her touch. He could’ve cried when she hugged him and called him a good boy.

Unfortunately, such a beautiful moment didn’t last long, as Alice started to cough and she backed from Joseph while covering her mouth and nose. “I guess your owner’s a smoker, huh?”

Joseph never batted an eye whenever a teacher caught him with cigarettes. Their detentions, wagging fingers, and warnings of the danger of teenage smoking never reached him. If anything, their obnoxious lectures just made him want to cut class to light up another joint. It was only when Alice, the first person to hug him in forever, had to put some distance between them so she could breathe did he regret ever picking up the habit.

Even still, Alice brought Joseph back to her house with the intention of taking him to the vet to get him treated in the morning. The family dogs were wary of him, as was expected since they had a better sense of the danger a werewolf posed, but her human family were welcoming. Fortunately, acting friendly enough convinced them that he simply was a very wolf-like breed rather than an actual wolf, let alone a werewolf.

Still, they kept a more careful distance from Joseph than Alice did. They looked him over, and he allowed a few pets, but none of them smelled as appealing as Alice, or cuddled him like she did. Unfortunately, being indoors made it harder to avoid the smell of smoke, so she was forced to keep her distance.

It made Joseph feel a little lonely.

During the night when everyone was asleep, Joseph raided the fridge in a form that actually had opposable thumbs and prowled around the house. He found Alice in her room, but he couldn’t stay long when she started coughing in her sleep. He did linger long enough to notice that she had some fantasy romance novels, a couple of which involved supernatural creatures like werewolves.

Joseph wanted to stay and get to know Alice, but he was a danger to her. Not only would the pack find him if he didn’t keep going, but something as stupidly mundane as a smoking habit was keeping him away from the first person to make him feel warm and cared for in his life.

That night, Joseph reconsidered what he really wanted. He wanted to find a new life, a better life, one with actual love in it. Before he didn’t know how to do it besides forcing his parents, teachers, peers... just someone to finally look at him like a person and not a burden. Now... now there was a chance. He found a ray of sunshine in his dark life. He had a goal to work towards.

Joseph returned to the pack, but not before getting some information he could use, like Alice’s home address and phone number. He would sneak back to watch her from a distance, waiting until it would be safe for him to see her again. He quit smoking, but it would be a while until he stopped smelling of smoke.

One time when Joseph snuck by to see Alice, he saw a scrawny human boy by her side. It wasn’t unexpected - humans spent time with humans, though it did make him feel lonely to see her spending time with someone else when he couldn’t. Worse, was how much fun they were having, laughing, playing around and joking together. They were close.

Then Joseph caught wind of the boy’s pheromones... and hers as well.

The two of them were attracted to each other.

It irritated Joseph, which wasn’t helped by his nicotine withdrawal. Yes, humans were meant to be with humans, and he was supposed to mate with another werewolf and all that bullshit, but fuck that! He hadn’t even gotten the chance to talk to Alice yet, and here was this little toad daring to hug and lust after the first person to show him just the smallest scrap of warmth.

Joseph couldn’t handle it.

Ian had some incidents coming home from Alice’s house where he was stalked by a wild dog or a wolf that chased after him, snapping teeth and growling. However, it would mysteriously only go after him when he was alone and somehow always avoided his attempts at snapping a photo on his phone. On those nights, he wasn’t even truly safe at home, as he would hear scratching at his windows, only to find nothing there, and he thought he heard whispers warning him to stay away from Alice. It made him paranoid and afraid to walk alone when visiting her, and his mom twisted his experiences as being demonic in nature, a warning that he better not have any sinful thoughts about his friend...

It created some distance between Ian and Alice. They were still friends and still close, but he visited her house less often and felt more anxious about his romantic and spicy feelings towards her. This made it even harder for him to gather the courage to ask her out and try to go from friends to something more.

Which suited Joseph perfectly.

It was at least a year after that first encounter that Joseph arranged an ‘accidental’ first encounter with Alice in his human form while she was out and about in the city. Although she kept a greater distance from him as a human than she did as a “dog,” he managed to act cheerful and friendly enough to get her to lower her guard.

The time waiting to see Alice wasn’t spent idly. Joseph had been preparing for that “first” meeting with her, studying more about how to act than he ever did at school, though he did pull his grades up. He stopped acting out, ironically now trying not to attract anyone’s attention in his hometown, so that no one would realize he was sneaking off.

His pack might have hid among humans, but they kept their distance and felt humans were beneath them. They would never accept Joseph’s obsession with one, not unless he became the leader of the pack and changed the rules, or could earn the right to leave the pack, both of which would require him to battle and defeat the alpha.

It was an exhausting balancing act, but worth it to Joseph. He got stronger, pulled up his grades in school, and visited Alice whenever he could. They became friends, and got close enough they exchanged cell phone numbers. He was elated, and the more time he got to know her, the deeper he fell for her.

Joseph did intend to just befriend Alice, he really did, but when she gave him a hug while he was in his human form, he didn’t want to let her go. He wanted more.

He wanted her to be his mate for life.

You know, sometimes werewolf romances have mystical mate bonds, so let’s go with that. It’d be fitting since it’s similar to the connection between Jack and his sunshine in the main universe. Werewolves have one mate for life when they make the mark and all sorts of perks and all those fun tropes.

Joseph did his best to appeal to Alice, and he was thrilled the first time he caught scent of her interest in him - not Ian or someone else, but him! He nearly acted on it right there, but he knew her better by this point. She was shy, took things slowly, and when sneakily prying about her thoughts on romance, he found out that she’d only want to date someone she was friends with first.

Fine, fine, Joseph could wait. He had to take care of his pack’s potential interference anyway. It wouldn’t hurt to secure a good future too if he was going to start a family. Alice did admit she wanted a big family with a bunch of kids in the future, and he was quite happy to imagine having a whole litter of pups with her.

Joseph managed to defeat the alpha by the time he graduated high school. He could have taken over for the pack, but screw them all. He was free, more or less. He had a scholarship, he made sure to enroll in the same college Alice was attending, and he even managed to arrange it so that they would be staying in the same dorm. He wanted to be roommates with her, but the damn school decided that students of the same gender couldn’t stay on the same floor, let alone share a room.

Now that Joseph finally was free, he asked Alice out on the first day of classes, and she shyly accepted.

The fact that Ian just happened to be in earshot at the time really was a total coincidence. Really.

One date led to more, then a relationship. Joseph was the ideal boyfriend, kind, considerate, and very loving. Alice was wonderful to him as well, so cuddly and affectionate. She made him feel so loved and appreciated in a way no one else could.

Joseph swapped out his nicotine addiction for a caffeine addiction, but that was fine. Alice liked the smell of coffee, and although she didn’t really care to drink it, she didn’t mind the taste of it when he kissed her. After a while the smell of coffee would remind her of him, especially when they kissed.

Now that they had gotten this far, Joseph had to gently warm Alice up to the idea of werewolves. She enjoyed horror movies as well as gothic romances, so he had something to work with, getting familiar with some werewolf romance media to show her and talk to her about. It was so romantic how a human and a werewolf could make a relationship work despite all odds, wasn’t it?

Joseph would feel insecure when Alice made friends besides him, especially if he caught wind of any sort of attraction they had towards her. Shaun also had the annoying stink of cat on him. Joseph was quick to make it clear early on after meeting him who Alice wanted to be with, much to her embarrassment.

After all, she hadn’t been expecting Joseph to (gently) bite her neck while she was introducing Shaun and Joseph to one another.

“Joey!” Alice hissed breathlessly as she pushed Joseph back, her face cherry red. “Not here!”

Joseph chuckled, unrepentant as he admired the new mark he left behind on her skin along with the others that made it clear to everyone that Alice was his. “Sorry, sunshine, I just couldn’t resist.”

During a full moon, a werewolf’s instincts are much stronger, which made it that much harder for Joseph to hold back his urge to mate with Alice. He had to take it slowly with her, mindful of her comfort, but oh how she drove him so crazy sometimes. It seemed to get harder and harder to stop when she signaled an end to their make out sessions, but he would never, ever do anything she didn’t want, even if it left him with blue balls and with the urge to tear something apart in the woods to burn off the extra energy.

But all the waiting in the world is worth it for Alice, as far as Joseph is concerned, especially the night she finally, finally tells him that she loves him. He gently pried for it, not as forward or as confident as he would as Jack in the game, but he was absolutely just as giddy and relieved to hear it.

Needless to say, when Joseph reveals the truth about his werewolf nature to Alice, she’s very skeptical, thinking it’s a prank at first. He offers to prove it and shocks her when he manages to actually transform into a wolf, and a rather sizable one at that. Although intimidating and world changing, she quickly accepts this side of him, much to his delight.

Wolfy cuddles, petting, and tail wags follow... then Joseph reveals his hybrid form, with a human physique and wolf features. (It’s not too much different than Bo’s “feed me” form.)

It happens to be a full moon, and Joseph, high off of her love and acceptance of every side of him, gets very affectionate. Though intimidated and very nervous, Alice consents to going all the way with him for the first time. She marvels at how a big and dangerous werewolf like Joseph can be so gentle... and how many times he can keep going.

It was quite the learning experience for Alice. First she learned that her boyfriend was a werewolf, then just how big he is, and finally that she can handle someone of his size without pain with enough loving preparation beforehand. Joseph made sure to shower her with praise through the experience, especially when she managed to take his knot.

Needless to say, the two of them skip classes the next day. Joseph is only too happy to carry Alice around until she can walk properly again, much to her embarrassment.

The mate marking happens either during their first time or afterwards, but, in any case, Alice is consenting to it. After all, it means she and Joseph can be together forever. She’s never felt so happy and accepted before. How can she say no when he’s such a wonderful guy who loves her so much?

Sure, Joseph gets a bit territorial, and Alice always has kiss and bite marks that she can never quite hide when out in public, but that just shows how crazy he is about her. How can she not find it flattering?

Although Joseph’s size and werewolf nature can be intimidating, Alice isn’t afraid of him. How could she? He’s the sweetest, most gentle, friendly, and loving person she’s ever known. The idea that he could hurt anyone is completely absurd!

Joseph is the happiest he’s ever been in his life. He finally has his sunshine, and, someday, they’re going to have a nice home and a bunch of happy pups to call their own. As long as no one tries to get between them, everything will end happily ever after.

If they do, well... this wolf knows how to hunt.

Fic Rec Friday: Good Omens

I haven't done one of these in a while so I figured it was time for another fic rec list! I love lists! Anyway, in no particular order:

The Rose and the Serpent by Atalan - Beauty and the Beast AU (not the Disney version), very sweet, Robin McKinley vibes with lovely writing.

Flowers for Anthony by Atalan - Same author as above but very angsty. Interesting premise (suddenly human Crowley, so kind of immortal/reincarnated lover AU) excellent writing, again. The whole Pray For Us, Icarus series is to die for and eventually has a happy ending.

it's a new craze by attheborder - Crowley and Aziraphale start an advice podfic together. It's too cute and very funny. The author has also written a lovely story about Crowley becoming an uber driver after the Nopocalypse. They're very good at Outsider PoV in both.

Wings and How to Hide Them by triedunture - Feelings reveal via Bodyswap, with Casanova Aziraphale and seethingly jealous Crowley wrapped up in superb turn of phrase.

You, Soft and Only by thehoyden - Ineffable husbands fake (and then real!) relationship through the ages.

The Uninvited Guest by entanglednow - love this author and this fic deserves more love. Human AU featuring Crowley sleepwalking into Insomniac Aziraphale's apartment on the regular and a sweet developing romance.

Nanny Knows Best by DictionaryWrites - no GO fic rec list would be complete without a Warlock era Crowley and Aziraphale fic. Interesting commentary on gender roles, parenting and sexual harassment too.

The Slow Show by mia_ugly - Actors AU featuring falling in love on set, veeeery slow burn friends to lovers and secret relationship tropes. Also has industry darling/black sheep making a come back, which is a trope I enjoy. Well written with a lot of discussion of Hollywood and internalised homophobia.

a city wall and a trampoline by kafkian - 5+1 Retirement fic with on point characterisation and mutual pining. And an Anathema/Newt wedding.

A Nanny? In MY Summoning Circle? by pukner - Combines Crowley being demon- summoned and unexpectedly reconnecting with grown-up Warlock. Plus Vengeful Aziraphale. Cute and funny.

Birds of a Feather by idiopathicsmile - Angel courtship and Crowley being dense. "FIX IT, YOU VILLAIN, shrieks Crowley's heart" lives in my head rent free.

stand on the brink of the warm white day by appomattox - Outsider PoV social media fic featuring Cryptid!Aziraphale, David Tennant and the Internet speculating about their relationship status.

Cry for Absolution by forthegreatergood - Crowley thinks his touch hurts Aziraphale. Lovely mutual pining and angst with a terrific payoff.

Running in the Shadows (Damn Your Love, Damn Your Lies) by soft_october - Regency Romance/kind of Persuasion AU. Nice Regency tone and language.

Demonology and the Tri-Phasic Model of Trauma: An Integrative Approach by Nnm - Crowley goes to therapy. Sad and insightful but ultimately hopeful character study.

Remembrance of Things Past by Fyre - Amnesia fic! By one of my favorite fanfic authors.

The Affair by kinklock - Another nanny/gardener fic featuring the Dowlings and staff gossiping about the Ineffable idiots and their top-secret Antichrist mission meetings.

Anthophilia by FortinbrasFTW - Another human AU, this time they run a neighbouring florists/bookshop and are also old uni friends (exes?), though only Crowley seems to remember... Pining and Second Chance Romance, both excellent tropes and very well written.

Too Wise to Woo Peaceably by Ventriloki (Feral_but_Fluffy) - The obligatory Good Omens Season 2 Ineffable Divorce fic also featuring Muriel being adorable.

Future Mephisto fanfics:

Working on a fanfic that I consider the ultimate betrayal because Amiya and Mephisto aren’t completely awful to each other in it. If you don’t know, I derive great amusement from their dynamic as enemies. Normal people AU but I can’t ever stop myself from writing Mephisto as annoying and mean because he is too emotionally immature and lacking in morals to just play nice. At this point every character I write acting rude and self centered to each other just happens on its own.

As for fanfics where they are just awful to each other, I feel kinda bad for abandoning my long fic and I will come back to it after finishing the above one. It was made when I was starting to write fanfics and I didn’t know how to tell the story I envisioned. So it became impossible to continue as it was. I have most of a new chapter hidden away, but I honestly want to restructure the whole thing and tell a tighter story.

I have a WIP sequel for Halo Effect linked above that is even more angsty and tragic.

District 7 baby and uh. holy shit. her games were Intense

Extremely underestimated before the games, not by choice as Johanna did but because she was genuinely just soft and sweet and refused to go into the games being anything less than she 100% was. She wasn't going to die a false version of herself.

So Imagine The Surprise that was when sweet Gem, a tribute who never once went to the weapon stations in training and instead looked at plants and snares, was fucking lethal.

Didn't go to the weapon stations because she already knew how to swing an axe - no, she gathered knowledge on areas she lacked. Like she assumed everyone else was doing.

There is very few moments in which the Career Districts feel like they were embarrassed. There is even fewer times the Capitol feels so thrown off about a games conclusion.

Post games she tries to remain active in her district - has a small herb garden she'll hand out, helps out with local infrastructure. If we go with Ethos in district 7 she and him regularly spar - she always wins, but it keeps them both busy.

Unfortunately, by being herself the Capitol turned her into a propaganda play. One of those "even if they look like people, the districts clearly aren't like you and I!" spiel.

Due to that she tries to distance herself from the games, partly because she doesn't want to cause trouble for any tributes and current victors but mainly because she doesn't want the attention. Being gawked at like you're a lion choosing to wear a human skin isn't fun.

GoodTimesWithScar:

District 9 and like a couple other victors in this AU, should not have won. His games were like a series of miraculous fortunate events and near misses that extremely stressed his mentor out.

He swindled almost every single tribute in his arena, and caused rifts when he didn't even mean to. Taking off with your groups supplies isn't great, but when a canon goes off and your group assumes that one of them killed him and stole their stuff? Well, that takes care of that. Imagine the remaining survivor surprise when Scar was not featured in that nights broadcast of the dead.

Charmed a whole lot of people in the Capitol through this, though. So ontop of his insane luck and people skills, he also had sponsors willing to help him out because he made them laugh.

Honestly his games were more comedy of errors than anything. He killed no one, and his final opponent died via anaphylactic shock. Dude had an allergic reaction and gave Scar the win.

Scar did not expect to win the Hunger Games, so he did not try to win the games. He made peace with his death, and decided to live out his final days in joy and luxury. He wandered the arena, messed with people for fun, created structures out of twigs and rocks and sand.

You can imagine his own surprise when he won. You can imagine the oh shit realization he had when he knew that with surviving came another arena - one he can't prance around in with no care for his own safety because it wasn't just his life on the line anymore.

Post games, he still has plenty of fans. What a wondrous example of how the odds may truly be in your favour, the Capitol says. Look at him paint, look at his cat, isn't he still so funny? So oblivious! No spacial awareness! How can he be a victor, haha!

Scar is forced to walk a tightrope that very few can see. He can't show that not killing is an option, so he's a jester. An outlier. He has forced the Capitol to forget that he's an actor with a quick mind, that the alliances he formed and then promptly broke were because of his personality instead of his knowing of what to say to get the other to agree. He is putting on the performance of a lifetime.

Grian:

District 3 and Capitol golden boy, the people love him there. In fact, Grian mainly lives at the Capitol because the constant travel between his district and there was surely becoming too tiresome for him, so might as well cut out the middleman!

Because of that most district citizens (with the exception of the career districts) see him as a traitor, meanwhile all the younger Victors are like 'Holy Shit. They can just, do that?' while the older ones are just like 'Alright what's the game plan. How Do We Prevent Another Doc, Cleo or Ren Situation.'

Game wise he won via rewiring the arena to fit his needs and creating explosions using stray scraps he could scavenge, plus the detonator mines at the cornucopia. A notable moment from his games is when he took out five people at once, three of which were careers.

His only alliance was with a boy from district 4 named Taurtis, and it was Grians own creations that killed him by accident. Coincidentally, post games he has focused more on creating then tinkering. Funny that.

Grian didn't become friends with the other victors until later - and then he was the one to pull Pearl into the group with them. It wasn't out of hatred or anything, he just felt like he couldn't connect with them and that they wouldn't want him anyways. The Capitol had declared them fundamentally different - where their prisons bars were rusted his were gilded. Grian was precious. Grian was theirs. There is a moment late one night when Grian is overlooking the city and he realizes that even if he were to die, they wouldn't let him stay dead. They would force his heart to start and make his lungs breathe through machine power and even in death he wouldn't get to belong to himself.

Xisuma and Mumbo reaching out and enveloping him into the group really helped him. The Capitol wants him so bad? Fine, he'll be their downfall. Collect their secrets and learn the weaknesses and tear it all down. Viva la revolution.

Impulse:

District 1, and one of the older victors. He didn't want to ever enter the games but volunteered, because like False he was the most fit. During his time there was less focus on the glory of the games in his district, less thought that it was an honour to participate, and more a sensibility thing. If you have the best chance to survive out of everyone here, it is your duty. If you don't then you are condemning someone else to death.

Impulse just wanted to take over his fathers gem processing company but no, he had to be talented. His games were very much bog standard hunger games, and a career win was expected. Not many people were shocked that he came out on top.

His return home was met with nods of approval and cheers. He did his duty, he brought the district more food, he saved a life - now he got to choose what to do. Mentor if he wanted, or take on his fathers business like he originally wanted - district 1 had enough mentor candidates already.

There is something terribly isolating about having everyone shrug their shoulders at the worst experience of your life. To become forgotten by the masses because the blood you shed wasn't interesting enough. To be 18 sat in a too big house with the echoes of screams in your ears, and the names of those whose life you cut short already forgotten because these children had the audacity to be mediocre.

Joe, False, Keralis and Xisuma got it - understood what he was feeling. It was little wonder why Impulse grabbed onto them so tightly.

Seeing Doc win the next year made him wonder if it was better to have the world ignore you for meeting expectations, or adore you for surpassing them. If he had the right to feel both bitter and horrified.

Watching his district over the next 23 years glorify the games and make competing in it an honour, to receive revered looks while out and have small children say they want to become just like him, it is something he can't quite describe.

No one else will, so Impulse remembers. Impulse will continue on living because twenty-three others did not have a choice, and to throw that away would be cruel. Impulse will preserve.

Joehills:

District 8, his games were Also very average.

I am going to be so honest here, i do not know enough about Joe beyond his friendship with Cleo and that he's been apart of hermitcraft for a long time to do him justice. I know he is weird. i respect that. i love hearing his parenting stories - none of this transfers to my hunger games au well. joehills community help me please.

He was Cleos mentor and immediately brought her into the gang. She Will Be Supported In These Trying Times.

Iskall:

District 5, and his games were notable in that it was an arctic tundra based arena with the only living thing and place of warmth being a massive sprawling tree in the cornucopia. It was not one of the games that went on for very long

This was, as expected, Not a great arena for him. There is something that most people overlook though - climbing a tree and climbing a wall is not that different, all you have to do is look for footholds that can bear your weight. Taking over the tree wasn't expected from him, but he did it.

Burning the tree down when it came to the final six was also not expected from him, but boy did he do that. Losing his eye was worth it, he says. In the Hunger Games you have to gamble so the odds may be in your favour, and with some gambles you lose.

Iskall has said a lot of cool things about his games, about how it was all strategy. It was not. Iskall pulled things off, went "how did i do that?", shrugged and then did it again. It is the victors best kept secret.

Keralis:

District 4, his games were a bit unexpected in that a career pact did Not form, mainly because Keralis just found the others uptight and it caused a rift. The fractured pack meant the other careers - whose plans and strategies revolved around the usual alliance until the final ten - were easier pickings.

Keralis of course made no such plans or strategies around that, and sufficiently won doing so. Post games, quite a few people thought he did it on purpose so the tougher competition would be taken out and the next few games were watched with baited breath to see if the traditional alliance would continue on, but he quite simply did not like their vibes. If he is going to spend his last days, he will not do so with those he does not enjoy.

Keralis did not get the Gem treatment purely because he was from a career district, his niceties and soft voice made no one question his lethality. The fact he has remained so is a welcome surprise, however.

With victors, there is often an unspoken sense of camaraderie. An acknowledgement that you, too, went through hell. That you, too, are a monster. You are not alone in your sins. Even with that, the most to be expected was a nod of recognition from across the room. Most victors prefer to be solitary. They may bond with victors that share their district, but otherwise go on their own. Even when you are no longer in the games, you are still in the arena, and it is better to not be attached lest you have to throw your fellows under the bus to save your own skin. He, Joe and Xisuma were the first ones to really get together and form friendships outside of their own districts.

He finds it difficult to connect with his own district after everything. He tries. He does. But the faces of his former neighbours no longer look the same, and in a career district he should have been safe but some people won't look him in the eye anymore. His fellow victors from his district should be his friends but it - it feels hollow. There is no love there.

Mumbo:

District 11, and youngest victor to ever win the hunger games ever. That alone had every older victor immediately sweeping him up and going, "alright, our kid now." Joins the group of 'never expected to survive but somehow, they did.'

Mumbo was genuinely a talented kid with a knack for gadgets, but also extremely lucky. His gangly arms and legs let him scamper and get away quickly, but also compact himself into small spaces to survive. His district gave him enough background to know how to deal with hunger, how to step lightly, and how to hide. He was like a multi-tool, a swiss army knife of survivability.

Mumbo only had two kills the entire game. One was a calculated risk, a growing desperation clawing in his chest as the numbers dwindled down that he may actually somehow survive this, and the other an act of mercy. The latter death haunts him in his dreams, even if he does not know why. He's forgotten his first kills face.

Post games he mainly tried to shut himself away, which didn't work. Being the youngest victor meant people had expectations, meant people wanted to see what made him so great. First year post games he was paraded around like a show pony, but it introduced him to most of the other victors that took him under their wing.

Mumbo mentors. There is little to no victors in 11, and he had to take his part. The first year he mentored both kids were older than he was, and died in the bloodbath. He tries his best but Mumbo is not like them and even if they accept his aid there is something in their eyes that lets Mumbo know they find him lacking.

His friends are perhaps the only lifeline he has that keeps his head above water and away from sinking completely. Mumbo was not made for this type of life, he knows. He does not have the grit for it False does, or the showmanship like Scar. He is smart, he is funny, he is kind - but he is not what they want him to be, and having his name brought up every time some poor kid gets selected for slaughter causes an ache. When he realized he was older than any of his tributes will ever be, he vomited.

Doc and Cubfan are currently discussing seeing if they can get Mumbo transferred over to district 3 - getting him out of a mentor role would do him well, and Mumbo is a certified genius. They're trying not to be hopeful though, due to district 11 being agricultural focused Mumbo would have to be caught up to speed on certain things (and he would understand it too, the audacity of being talented) so the Capitol may not consider it a worthwhile effort.

Note: The others will get put in a separate post, because i am Running Out Of Room and also this has taken me like all day LMAO. I don't watch enough Jevin, , Hypno, XB, or Beef to have any solid ideas or characterization. I'm very sorry about that, but if anyone has ideas i would love to hear!!

As I was scrolling through the Topgun tag on AO3 the other night, I realized that I was starting to see the same tropes and AUs over & over again. And while not a bad thing at all, personally, I'm just starting to get a little bored of reading the same story over & over.

Mace windu and anakin for the detailed character meme?

Mace:

What I like about them: He's got this incredibly strong moral core, and despite his fanon reputation, he's amazingly understanding about the things that are genuinely difficult to understand and come to terms with. Mace understands anger and Falling, yes, has struggled with these things even, but he's come through as one of the strongest, fairest, most respected Jedi in the Order, and he is... honestly every time I think about him and Obi-Wan reacting to Depa waking up from her post-Fall coma, I'm just like [jennyslate-drunkhistory-im-like-SCREAM.gif] about their understanding and forgiveness and listen he gets such a bad rap for being 'stern and unyielding' but his actions in canon are all so positive and his fanon reputation is entirely built on The Specific Delivery that GLucas insisted on for all the actors in TPM and just. [scream] I love him.

What I dislike about them: The comic where he lets Palpatine have access to Anakin at 12. It's not canon anymore but I don't Like it.

Favourite moment: His immediate response to Anakin telling him about Sidious. There wasn't any doubt, he just fully believed this admittedly unstable subordinate, because even if Anakin lies a lot and everyone knows (see: Padme situation), he fully believes that Anakin wouldn't lie about something as important as this. Runner up is Mace complimenting R2D2 in TCW.

Least favourite moment: Uhhhhh I don't have a least favorite moment, so to speak? I do hate his character design in TCW and '03, it's... I know everyone's features are exaggerated for the animation designs, but for him it feels as though the features exaggerated for Mace were kind of um. Riding the line of racism.

A situation with this character that I want to see explored more: I wish for more scenes where he and Anakin are alone together. I want to see one or both of them in a slightly negative situation, like injury or illness, and the other having to handle that. Both directions are good, in different ways. More generally, I want to see more one-on-one interactions between Mace and younger Jedi. I want to see those character dynamics! Show me Mace with Depa or Aayla or Ahsoka!

An interesting AU for this character: I'm always down for those "Mace survives RotS" AUs, they can be so good.

A crossover: Not counting the obligatory "Mace and Nick Fury have to interact" MCU crossovers? Hmmmm put him in Twilight. Just to see what happens.

OTP (or OT3+ etc…. just… favourite ship): I don't really do a lot of Mace ships (just the time-travel one), but I really enjoy seeing Mace/Qui-Gon in fic.

Other ships? I did write Mace/Jaster recently for an event, and that was fun, but also funny since I'm open to Mace/Jango. I'm also, obviously, a fan of Mace/Anakin in a time-travel context.

BROTP: Depa (obviously) but also...

NOTP: I'm sorry but Ponds. The power/age difference bothers me and the character dynamic I imagine is much more Best Coworkers than anything romantic.

An assortment of headcanons! - Generally kept to short cuts and fades before he went with shaving. Not counting his padawan braid, I don't think he really experimented much with growing out his hair for braids or knots or locs. Googled a few haircuts for black men and I think a normal fade and 'the Duke' might be about the area I'd consider him in. Might have done some shorter locs (like two inches) or the like, but that's about it. - He 100% knows that Padme and Anakin are going at it like rabbits whenever they're in driving distance of each other. He does not know they're married, but he knows Padme's pregnant before Anakin does. - I want to say that he doesn't have any food allergies, but does have a topical allergy, like skin contact types? Maybe space eucalyptus.

Anakin:

What I like about them: Absolute disaster man. Wet cat energy. Gender as hell. Unhinged. So easy to save and push in a better direction. So easy to turn into a complete monster. Impossible to be boring.

What I dislike about them: Bro he killed babies.

Favourite moment: Bickering with Obi-Wan in the arena in AotC while not even noticing that Padme's being all competent behind him.

Least favourite moment: He murdered babies. So. The Tusken slaughter.

A situation with this character that I want to see explored more: Willing confession of the Tusken slaughter and submitting himself to the fallout without whining about it or continuing to try to justify it to himself.

An interesting AU for this character: I have dozens for him. Just. So many AUs about this lovable moron.

A crossover: Anakin commits a homicide in 1890s London and now Sherlock Holmes is trying to find him.

OTP (or OT3+ etc…. just… favourite ship): Rexanidala, slight bias to Rexwalker.

NOTP: Despite my openness to Obikin as a reader, and it having sixteen years and raising from age nine and years parenting, I run into that shape of a block with An*soka, despite them having significantly less Messy Dynamic in all directions. Like. It exists! I see it! But I do not wish to read it. Just. Cannot brain it. I tried and it doesn't work for me.

for the p3 actor au i think these could be some fun thoughts. mostly blooper/cut-content oriented because i'm that kind of person:

elizabeth's actress is one of those people who literally lives their role (nearly identical to it), even when the cameras aren't rolling. i love thinking about SEES hanging out and they're like "you know we aren't filming, right?" (but they appreciate her quirky nature)

minato's actor sometimes brings his switch to set and may play it during his break times. i like to think that at some point his headphones accidentally unplug while he's playing and then whatever scene going on needs to be refilmed because there was a "WOOMY" noise in the background.

i think that aigis and ryoji's actors should be best friends, actually. as a treat. this is self-indulgent of me, really. unfortunately i can't elaborate.

re: aigis's costume design, i think that there won't be much green-screening needed (since cosplayers have managed to make the design before! which is really impressive!). compared to everyone else though, i think she'd have the longest make-up routine/prep-time... sorry to aigis's actress 😔

pharos would be played by a child actor and i think he should be friend's with ken's actor. i don't know how that would work but ken should have some more people his age on set tbh 🤧

ryoji's actor definitely got his scarf snagged on something during filming... maybe the escalator at port island station...? in a similar vein, i would not be surprised if chidori's headband or aigis's shoulder part fell off mid-filming and they had to take a temporary break afterwards.

on the show's social media, for halloween, the cast took a special featherman-inspired photo! but also i think it'd be cute if the actors went to a haunted house together and filmed their interactions.... not that it'd be much scarier than tartarus, LOL. i can see yukari just being fed up with junpei's attempt to make the visit even scarier than it needs to be.

i think if anything about the show/set would be leaked online... it would be through junpei's instagram live or something like that 😔 i am very sorry about this but also i think that junpei would be very happy and proud of the cast's work. he'd just be so happy and be like "HEY GUYS check out what the director sent-" and all the comments is everyone else telling him "NO"

i think shinjiro, fuuka, and hamuko would occasionally cook group meals for the set! nothing beats a good ol' home-made meal! 🥺 and really, i think shinjiro would make nice gestures and just help the others on cast a lot, even after october 4th is filmed.

also something that has vaguely crossed my mind: "the cast of persona 3 reads your tweets / posts." specifically akihiko and mitsuru... i just think that they'd both be fun yknow 🥴

this is silly but i think that during december 3rd when ryoji comes and gives his lil' info-dump on what SEES has to do- he should sneeze in the middle of it. ruin the immersion y'know 😎

also in general i think it's cute whenever there's cast interviews or "see how well the cast members know each other" (and those kind of things..?). other than the full-cast, i think i can see there being group interviews with the senpai trio™ (mitsuru, akihiko, shinjiro), ryominaigis + hamuko, the second years (fuuka + junpei + yukari), etc. etc. any grouping could make for some fun questions!

and lastly.. obligatory ryomina because this is me we're talking about... ryoji has absolutely gone off script during some scenes. i could see him either referencing that one evangelion thing (i was born to meet you) or just turning it into a confession scene... LMAO.

okay that was. a LOT more thoughts than i thought i had, oops!! admittedly i have not thought about this au in FOREVER so it was nice to think about it again!!! i tried to make it a bit more balanced in terms of giving more than one character spotlight
