gonna start smaller with characters:

lavinia: the jewish thing wasn't handled completely correctly (just a couple of small things there) but overall 10/10 character. i think she's hilarious and her official artwork ROCKS.

meg: i love her. she seems a little immature for twelve years old TO ME but i also had a... rather abnormal upbringing so that might explain the differences. overall she was a great character and i LOVE the demeter rep (my thoughts on how riordan treated demeter take five pages to clarify so-- basically) love seeing it-- demeter was a kronide and her kids should be treated as such! great character development. peaches was also hilarious (as was crotch-kicker mccaffrey)

lester: calling him lester to separate between godly apollo and post toa apollo. again, fantastic character development. he's so fucking funny. like he does some really dumb stuff at the start of the series (swearing to not use a musical instrument and stuff?? LESTER MAN CMON) his and meg's relationship is so sweet-- and kayla and austin with him? chefs kiss. love apollo kids getting some time with their dad.

jason: absolutely got fridged. i've already touched on my suicide theory so i won't go into that here but basically i think we shoulda seen jason similar to percy (very minor, doing his own thing behind the scenes) but alas.

piper: the shel thing was a bit sudden. don't get me wrong, i'm ALL for queer rep (i think there should be more of it in the books actually) but-- going straight from breaking up with jason to jason sacrificing himself for her to a relationship seems really unhealthy. i think she should have a chance to grow outside of a relationship.

reyna: joining the hunt was a bad end for her. since when was that an ambition of hers? she seemed genuinely happy in new rome and called it her home multiple times in HoO and going from that to the hunt? idk seems like rick doesn't know how to write characters NOT be in a relationship (piper, reyna, leo... they all get squared away)

leo: oh leo baby he didn't get to see jason before he died??? so heartbreaking. didn't belong in a relationship with calypso. the punching thing was weird when he came back to camp-- esp with a character who has a history of physical abuse

frank: i love the frank deciding his own fate thing but also idk seems like a cop out.

hazel: shouldn't have just become praetor i mean cmon. i love her but she's what, 14 now? no way.

Nico: FINALLY ONE OF THE CHARACTERS CANONICALLY GETS THERAPY. the doctors note is--

Hello, Wheelchair Annon here again (my sister parked me in the corner). I hope you don’t mind me chiming in again…

One of the biggest things that changed from being able bodied to being in a wheelchair is other people’s attitudes towards me. This is in two main ways:

Talking to whoever is with me instead of talking directly to me, even if it’s about me. People act as if I am mentally incapable and unable to participate in conversation, or even just act like I’m not there.

No respect for my personal space. I’m talking random strangers and people I barely know doing stuff, usually without even talking to me. This has included: someone coming up behind me and rocking my wheelchair back and forth; someone hanging sitting behind me hanging their jacket on the handles of my wheelchair; leaning on my wheelchair while in a lift; and messing with the controls of my electric wheelchair so I move even when I don’t want to.

How does Leo cope with this change in attitude towards him? (Does it actually happen, or are Yokai more egalitarian?). Leo considers himself the face man; how does he cope when other people don’t see him in the same way anymore? How does he cope when other non- human people don’t always see him as a person? (And does this factor into any issues he may have vis-a-vis growing up as a non human in a human world for the first 14 years of his life?)

(Also, I have a bunch more stuff I can think of relating to wheelchair use, being disabled, chronic fatigue and other stuff, but I really don’t want to overwhelm you. Would you like me to keep asking/pointing out stuff? I will not be offended if you say no!! <3)

Anon, PLEASE feel free to keep sending me these! Whatever you feel comfortable sharing! Like I said at the beginning of this, I'm able-bodied myself, so I can research all day but it's not the same as having lived experience, and I'm really grateful for your perspective! ^^

I've heard the horror stories from other wheelchair users about people just thinking they can do whatever they want with wheelchairs (which is insane to me, like, if you wouldn't rock a chair a stranger is sitting in why would you do that with a wheelchair??), it's why I included the whole point about how only the fam (+Hueso who is very responsible) is allowed to grab Leo's wheelchair handles without repercussion. It's still crazy to me that people just feel entitled to move your wheelchair or hang stuff off of it, though.

The thing about people no longer talking directly to you though, oof. I've heard people who are deaf talk about this happening but it makes sense that it would happen to wheelchair users too. I'm sorry that happens to you, anon.

To answer the questions... to start with, I don't think being accepted by humans is ever really a thing rise!Leo is particularly concerned with, and especially after they learned about yokai and the Hidden City he had other ways to fulfill his social needs that don't involve trying to get humans to accept being around mutant turtles. There is that little voice in the back of his head pointing out that he is Other, but in canon at least I don't think he lets it get him down too much.

as for yokai society itself, though, this is an interesting thing to think about! on one hand, yokai have a much greater mix of... appendage situations?? going on than humans do, so I wouldn't be surprised if the Hidden City is generally more accessible, just because shops are already factoring in that some of their customers won't have legs/arms/what have you. on the flip side, though, the chair itself is a pretty obvious visual indicator that even for his species Leo is disabled, and that would probably still lead to people talking to his siblings like he isn't there.

this would definitely be a hit to Leo's confidence, since it ties into the things he already struggles with. and to make things worse, I think it's one of those things that his family probably doesn't even realize is happening at first? especially because the experiences are spread around, so they're all getting fewer instances of it happening to notice than Leo is. but yeah I could see one of them going through a whole conversation without realizing that the person they're talking to hasn't talked to or directly responded to Leo once, and at the end they're like, "oh, they're so nice!" while Leo is sitting there feeling like he just got completely closed out of the conversation

I think Leo would just let it go for awhile at first. why would people want to talk to him, he's the failure brother! he may not even realize it's just a response to the wheelchair, initially. but as Leo gets healthier mentally (and maybe finds some community support, either online or in person), he'd start sticking up for himself more often.

I can imagine one day someone asks Raph, "Oh, how is Leo?" and Leo is like, "Leo's great, actually, his ears work just fine!" and that's the moment Raph realizes that this has been happening the whole time and for awhile Leo just let it happen and oops they just let it happen too

they are learning, though! nowhere to go but up!

Jungkook's birth chart analysis

Hey! Welcome back to another post in which I talk about an idol's birth chart. Since I want those posts to be more in depth, I'm doing them only with idols that have already mention their birth time. After the two bts members that I did, I will move on to Chan and Minho. Keep in mind that some haven't said whether it's am or pm so there are still two possible options, but it's much more specific than just a guess. Let's get it!

Highlights: Virgo stelium, Moon in the 1st, Leo rising, Jupiter in the 7th, Mercury in the 3rd.

Virgo stelium:

In general a stelium is a sign that's repeated 3 times or more in a birth chart. Since it's an energy that's very present for lack of a better word, it is very important in general and might even influence the person in other areas and not just the ones it falls under. I don't wanna emphasize Virgo traits that much because those are mostly known to people that are are familiar with astrology but more the aspects that are created in his chart. His Sun conjuncts his north node. The north node is a point that symbolizes where we're heading in this life time, the lessons we get, where we are going to shine etc. The sun is all about being seen, charming, glamorous, famous may I add 👀 it's also his chart ruler! Since he is a Leo rising. I'm saying it and I'll say it again, we should pay extra attention to the aspects our chart ruler creates, they might resonate with us more.

A really tight conjunction happens between his lilith and north node, which is very interesting. Lilith is an asteroid, the dark moon, it's sexual, raw, passionate and hidden. All those are important in his life (especially paired with his Mars in scorpio which is a notoriously sexual placement), but I want to say here that Virgo is known as a perfectionist, right? That includes themselves first and foremost. I think a big focus in this life time, might be to learn and accept the darker aspects of himself, that don't fit the idealized version of him.

Mercury in the 3rd:

Jungkook is a self proclaimed introvert but I wanna say here that having communication skills isn't tied to being an extrovert or an introvert. I know plenty of extroverted people that do terrible at conversations lmao. The 3rd house is ruled by Mercury so it feels right at home and gives him the benefits of communication and lively engagement with others. On top of that, Mercury is related to wit and intelligence, which are charms he does possess!

Leo rising:

Now is anything better for a celebrity than to be ruled by the sun? I don't know 🙈😂 In general I think that it's a beneficial placement, especially for performers since they crave and get attention easily when they come to the spotlight. Also men with Leo rising look phenomenal with longer hair and Jungkook's chef's kiss with long wavy hair 👌

Moon in the 1st:

Jungkook is someone very emotionally expressive. Despite being introverted, he wears his heart on his sleeve and cries easily when he feels like it, relatively okay with being vulnerable. His face is also rather expressive, no matter what emotions he experiences, evident on him. On top of that, his manly looks have an added softness to them, almost water sign like. A moon in the 1st house made a lot of sense for Jungkook, because his zodiac signs didn't suggest such a thing otherwise.

Jupiter in the 7th:

Lucky boy. Very lucky boy, I'm jealous lmao. Jupiter expands and gives luck to areas it falls under. The 7th house is about relationships and partnerships. It's mostly the romantic ones, although it can apply to colleagues sometimes too. None the less that's an area he is lucky in and that's further emphasized by his well placed Venus, in Libra, the planet ruler. In general overall Jungkook has a 'lucky' chart. Ofc there aren't inherently bad birth charts but some placements or aspects give you a harder time than others and he is, for the most part, lucky to not have too many of these.

I gave Tem Souldancer a proper reference for their civilian self and their Magical Boy/Enbie transformation!

So a couple of notes:

Tem Souldancer is 16 years old when they meet the Turtles. They use they/them pronouns. They are also a self-insert who I ship with Donnie.*

Tem is short for Artemisia, a name that they adopted after moving to NYC. Their "real" name is Crow, but they did keep their surname out of respect for their family's culture and history. So they went from Crow Souldancer to Artemisia Souldancer, but everyone calls them Tem for short.

Tem is Two-Spirit, and is on Testosterone. Their gender is "your worst nightmare." They are also ace-spec.

Tem was diagnosed with ASD as a child. Their special interests lie in the complexities of magic and systems of the mystic arts. They study magic almost like it's a science. And also crows. They have a huge thing for crows. Duh no shit

Tem's Backstory and Powers...

Tem's Backstory:

Headcanon time! The magic in ROTTMNT stems from two sources - from the Spirits of the Earth or from the Krang/Onni. The magic that comes from the Earth and its Spirits acts like veins, and ties all living creatures together. The veins are in all kinds of colours, depending on the life force of the person a single vein is connected to. For obvious reasons, Raph's is red, Leo's is blue, Donnie's is purple, Mikey's is orange, April's is yellow, etc. However, most people cannot see the Veins, including the Hamatos.

Tem, and by extension their family, can see these Veins, alongside some other stuff. This is because many centuries ago, a young woman was given these abilities by one of the more powerful Spirits in order to protect the Earth from the Demons who would try to destroy it (the Krang.) This woman adopted the title Souldancer because it felt like she was dancing among the souls of the living. This would become the surname for Tem's family.

Souldancer children are born with a small crystal on their body, varying in shape, colour, and location. These are called Soul Crystals, and they help the Souldancers use their powers. However, they only appear on firstborn children. Any other children born after do not get a crystal. The secondborn are taught how to do magic for reasons that will become apparent in the next paragraph.

The firstborn child would be trained in the mystic arts and in the ability to see and manipulate the Veins. The secondborn child would be responsible for producing the next generation of firstborn and secondborn children, so that the Souldancer line never died out. The firstborns are not allowed to have relationships or develop attachments to others. (Kind of like the Jedi Order in the Star Wars prequels, and the reasons why are the exact same.) The firstborn are called Guardians, and the secondborn are called Carriers.

Tem is a very weird case because they and their brother Rook are the firstborn together. They are twins, and they both have crystals. Rook's is green while Tem's fluctuates between white, shades of grey, and black (I'll come back to why that's weird later!) But Souldancer twins have never been born before this, so Tem's parents had to figure out what to do. Because Tem was born a few minutes after Rook, their parents decided that Rook would be the next Guardian because he was older. Tem would be the next Carrier. They were supposed to marry a man who was nine years older than them when they turned 16.

They tried to smile and continue living. But they've always loved using their magic and protecting and helping others, and they don't want to give up that part of themselves. So when they turned 15, they ran away from home and moved out to NYC, where they knew an entrance to the Hidden City was. They figured that being closer to the Hidden City would mask their Soul Crystal from their parents' detection.

Tem set up shop and began working as a waiter, while also doing VTubing on the side (which they are slowly but surely getting more views and money from.) They also use the nights to their advantage to not only fight crime and help out injured people using their powers, but also to fight any and all remnants of the Demons' armies. Tem is also trying to destroy any and all remaining Krang weapons (one of which being the Dark Armor.)

Tem meets the Turtles in season 1 of ROTTMNT. They get very insecure about having to share a spotlight with any other heroes. Tem has lived in their brother's shadow for years and wants to escape it and make something of themselves independent from their family. They project hard on the Turtle brothers as a result. However, they soon become friends with the brothers, and develop a rivalry/friendship with Donnie (which eventually turns into a romance, but that's a very slow burn.)

Tem's Powers:

Remember how I mentioned above that Tem's Soul Crystal being greyscale is weird? Well, here's why! All Souldancer firstborns are born with a Crystal, and they all come in different shapes and colours. However, no child has ever been born with a Crystal like Tem's before.

The scale of White to Black shades in magic is reserved for those with a LOT of power, typically Spirits. White magic was typically more focused and could allow a person to utilise any kind of magic they wanted to. Black magic, on the other hand, was harder to control and was more prone to instability. However, it was also the culmination of all colours, so it could also do crazy powerful stuff. The shades of Greys in magic are a combination of both of these aspects. The darker the shade, the more magical energy a person had, but that magic was unstable and difficult to control.

Tem's Crystal changes colour depending on how upset they are. If they feel a very strong emotion such as hatred or terror or even love, their Crystal gets darker. However, Tem's appearance while transformed is a mix of different shades of greys mostly because it is a reflection of their experiences with their magic and emotions. The colour of their Crystal only changes whenever Tem overexerts themselves.

Tem's powers are more specific however. They can see the Veins, but they can also interact with them. If they spend enough time, Tem could find anybody in the world using the Veins. They can even siphon magical energy from a large network of sources to heal others. Think of it like the Law of Equivalent Exchange. Typically, minor injuries like cuts or bruises or even sprains don't take too much magic or effort. Wounds, stabs, broken bones are trickier but also not too difficult to heal. Near-death injuries are harder, but not impossible. However, when someone dies, it is basically impossible to heal from that.

Tem also can drain the life force and magical energy from others. Very similar deal to the Healing magic. Draining magic is easier when it's in smaller quantities. Typically draining small amounts of magic from someone will make them tired or weaker. In larger quantities, it could bring someone to near death or even kill someone. However, removing so much magic from someone as to practically take their soul would absolutely be way too much Black magic for one person to handle and it could possibly kill them.

Alongside that, Tem can also mimic the powers of the Turtles, mostly whenever they are in close proximity to them. So the closer Tem is to a brother, the easier it is for Tem to mimic their powers. Their crystal and clothes even have the colour of the corresponding brother added to them, which disappears when Tem is no longer using their powers. It's also important to note that the more Tem uses one of the Turtles' magical abilities, they also tend to feel whatever it is the brother in question is feeling. They can only use one power at a time, and if they try to do multiple at once, it is too much.

In their Corvid form (as they like to call their transformed black and white self), they can glide, jump farther, run faster than any ordinary human. They also have a significantly higher pain tolerance and much faster reflexes.

*I have been a TMNT fan since 2012, and I was 16/17 when Rise was announced/released. Tem is an abridged version of myself in 2017/2018, which is when the events of the first season start. I'm adult now, so any and all content from me about teen Tem and teen Donnie will be strictly SFW. This is kind of a grey zone for me in terms of self-shipping because it's retroactive and Tem's experiences differ from my own drastically.

Why I'm retroactively self-shipping is very personal to me, but it boils down to healing my inner child/teenager. I grew up with these characters and I'd like to pay homage to my younger self and give them some love and support from healthy places. This is very much a love letter to teenage Aso.

Mistaken Identity

Raph’s head jerked to the side as he was hit for about the fifth time. Just like all of the other times, he growled and shook it off, glaring up at his captors.

“We told ya, turtle! Yer going ta fix this for us, or yer gonna die!” the lead thug demanded.

Raph spat a glob of blood out. “And I told you! I don’t know how to fix it!”

That was met with a punch to the side—not the first time for that, either—and Raph grunted, but he didn’t give them the satisfaction of more than that.

“Lemme see that picture again!” the lead thug demanded. One of the underlings handed him what to Raph looked like an old-fashioned polaroid, and the leader squinted at it. “There’s four of ‘em, right? Ya sure we grabbed the right one?”

“They said the one with the bag and the tools,” the other thug said. “He’s got the bag and the tools. He’s gotta be the smart one!”

So—they had been after Donnie, like Raph had suspected. But these thugs weren’t their normal thugs, so they didn’t know how to tell who was who. Raph bared his teeth. Good. Then he’d keep on taking the hits for Donnie. Until Leo and Mike showed up, he was willing to put up with this. Besides, these guys were idiots. It shouldn’t take his brothers long to track him down. He didn’t stay out as long anymore, after all.

“Right.” The leader tossed the photo aside and turned back to Raph. “Alright, so—yer gonna fix this machine for us, an’ if ya don’t, then we’re gonna blow those big brains out, got it?”

Raph growled. “First of all, how do ya expect me to fix anything, when you’re got me tied up? Second, if ya blow my brains out, then nothin’ is getting fixed, idiot. And third, like I already told ya, I don’t know how to fix the thing!”

He was hit again, although this time it was hard enough to send him rocking back. The only reason his chair didn’t fall over was because of the thug back there that caught it.

“Yer a liar!” the leader snapped out. “We know ya can do this! Our informant was very clear!”

Raph gave him a feral grin. “Maybe yer informant wasn’t as good as ya thought.”

That earned him another hit, but Raph took it. As much as these punks thought they were going to get something out of him, Raph was gaining information too. Mainly, that they didn’t know. That it wasn’t common knowledge yet. It wasn’t on the streets yet about Donnie, and that was good. They’d been trying to keep it relatively hidden for as long as they could, and it looked like it was working.

Another hit brought Raph out of his thoughts, and, again, the thugs demanded his fix some machine. Again, Raph refused. Raph wasn’t sure how long this back and forth beating went on, but what he did know was that these punks had the wrong turtle. Yeah, Raph had been carrying Don’s bag, but that was because he was going on a junkyard run. Raph was no genius like Don had been, but he knew his way around the vehicles and several inventions, at least more than the rest of his family. They’d become his duty, and Raph wasn’t about to let them fall to pieces, not after all of the work Don had put into them.

Unfortunately for them, these punks couldn’t tell the difference between him and Don, and took the bag as the sign, even though Raph had different weapons, a different colored mask, and a different tone of green. But they didn’t have Donnie, for all the good it would have done them, and for that, Raph was glad.

The leader landed a hit that was harder than the rest, clearly frustrated with Raph and his answers, though, and his patience was at an end. “Maybe we should do somethin’ a little more drastic, to ya, turtle,” he said, leaning Raph’s chair back and grabbing Raph’s mask so he could pull Raph’s head around. “Maybe we still need yer brain, but ya don’t need yer legs ta fix a machine, do ya?” He roughly let go of Raph and took a step back. “Bring me that sledgehammer!”

Raph bared his teeth and growled. This was bad, but there wasn’t anything he could do about it. Some punk handed the leader a sledgehammer, and the leader approached Raph with a sadistic grin. “Maybe this’ll teach ya that we’re serious!”

The punk had only just started to raise the sledgehammer when suddenly there was the sound of breaking glass and a turtle was slamming into the leader full force. Another blur landed in front of Raph, and with the quick and efficient precision that only Mike could do with his nunchucks, the punks that were around Raph were down.

“Casey!” Mike called.

Casey dropped down from the ceiling, landing with his hockey stick in hand as he took care of another punk.

“On it!” he yelled back and made his way over to Raph.

“You look like shell, man,” he said as he took out a knife to cut the ropes that were tying him to the chair.

“Yeah, well, I still look better than you,” Raph shot back.

Casey laughed. It didn’t take long for Casey to get Raph untied, or long for his brothers to finish off the punks, load Raph in the Hovershell, and for them all to take off back to the lair. Mike drove them home, actually avoiding the potholes for once, while Leo and Casey sat in the back, going over Raph’s injuries. It was only a temporary job, of course, but it was enough for him to limp inside the lair with help. April was there and waiting, and Splinter wasn’t far behind her, a small Donnie in his arms, sucking on his fingers as he watched. He opened his mouth, though, and let out a noise of distress as he saw Raph.

“Hey, don’t worry, buddy,” Raph said, glad that Casey and Leo had wiped off most of the blood in the Hovershell. Coming in like that only would have scared Donnie more. “I’m gonna be alright.”

Donnie, even as a one-year-old, was preceptive. He didn’t look convinced, and Raph really couldn’t blame him. Splinter carried him into the infirmary with the others, putting him in the small pack’n’play they had in there, and pulling a curtain around it just enough that Donnie wouldn’t see things while everyone cleaned up or tended to Raph. Raph explained what had happened to his family, keeping his voice low and hushed. Like him, they were glad that news of Donnie hadn’t gotten out yet, although they weren’t happy to find out this way.

At some point, Mike finished cleaning up and took Donnie out of the room, even though Donnie wasn’t happy about it. He cried, and Raph heard his name somewhere in there, especially as it devolved into a full-on fit from the small turtle. Raph winced at the sound. He’d have to thank Mike later for dealing that that.

Finally, Raph was allowed out to sit on the couch, although he was under strict orders not to do anything strenuous. He was helped to it, where he gratefully sat, content not to do anything for a while. At least, he was until Mike appeared with Donnie in his arms.

“There he is!” Mike said, clearly speaking to Donnie. “See? Raphie is okay, he’s just got a few boo-boos, that’s all.”

Donnie sniffed from his position in Mike’s arms and looked at Raph. He reached his hands out to him. “Ahpy,” he said, clearly wanting Raph.

Mike looked at Raph, waiting to see if Raph was willing to take Donnie. Raph couldn’t help himself. He reached out for Donnie. “Come here, squirt,” he said.

Donnie grinned and burbled as Mike handed him over. “You up for this?” Mike asked.

“We’ll be fine,” Raph said. “You just go help April in the kitchen. I think Leo’s in there with her now.”

Mike grimaced at that, and turned to go avert disaster, leaving Raph alone with Donnie. He settled the baby on his plastron, keeping an arm around him to make sure that he was stable. Donnie looked up at him, his big, grayish-green eyes, staring at him. He reached up, gently touching a bruise that had already formed on Raph’s face.

“Owwie?” he asked.

Raph smiled at him. “Yeah, kiddo. I’ve got an owwie.”

Donnie frowned, and looked at other parts of Raph, gently reaching out to touch some of the bandages. Even for a child who didn’t have all of his motor control yet, Raph was always amazed at how gentle Donnie could be. Splinter said he was always like that; it was a part of his very nature. For Raph, who had always struggled with being gentle, it was amazing to see his literal baby brother know how to be gentle almost instinctively.

“Ahpy ‘ur’,” Donnie said, sniffing a little. “Ba’!”

Raph softened. “Yeah, I’m hurt. And it’s not a good thing. But it’ll be okay, Donnie. I’ll heal. The owwies will go away.”

“’ur’?” he asked.

“Yeah, Donnie they hurt a little.”

Donnie looked up at him again, and then tucked himself in Raph’s hold, patting his plastron and giving a small, high pitched churr. Raph’s heart melted as Donnie tried his best to comfort him, and he smiled softly at Donnie, giving a churr back. He settled into the couch, content right there, even with his injuries, as he held Donnie.

If this was what he was protecting, then Raph had no problem with a case of mistaken identity.

Very neat

The only one out of the siblings who knows how to tie and tie

Keeps hair long and ties it in a low ponytail

The Slytherins do not like that he lets his hair grow and calls him a ruffian

The other people from other houses like it though

Always in complete uniform

Has infinite amount of hair ties that the girls sometimes approach him tk get one

Has layers upon layers of sweatshirts and scarves when winter comes

His brothers give tjen their scarves the more he spent the time out in the cold so you can see blue, purple, orange and red on him at all times

Raph

Ties do not agree with him

Always rolls up one or two sleeves

He doesn't wear the vests until he can't handle the cold

Prefers not to wear the cloak

Just let's the scarf hang loosely around him or just wraps it around Leo

They dont have the official house scarves, just their own color coordniated scarves

Hair is always a mess

He likes to feel free that's why he tries to wear less layers as possible

It's easier to fight with less layers

There's always something someone needs in his cloak whenever he actually wears it

Through the course of the school year he could he seen sporting minor cuts and burns

Mikey

Leo ties his tie for him

He never bothers to try and learn how because he likes it when Leo does it

Always looked like he dressed in a hurry

Even though the house eleves probablt ironed out his clothes, it's always messy and full of creases

His uniform almost always has evidences of his pranks from paint to glitter

Wears his scarf very securely around his neck and can and will give his scarf to Leo

He would tie it around him like a cute ribbon

His cloak is full of stickers

He always snuck at least one sticker on his brothers cloaks as well

Welcome to TMN'T'!! In this iteration, the boys don't grow up in a busy city, but secluded in a house in the woods on an island on the coast of South Carolina. When Splinter escaped with the kids, he ran as far and as fast as he could, hitchhiking, train hopping, and stealing bus tickets with two oddly covered toddlers and a suspiciously lumpy backpack.

Wonder who he was running from...

The story begins when April moves to their small town and stumbles upon the boys and their eccentric friend, Casey Jones. Shenanigans ensue, enemies are made, there’s kidnapping?? Maybe?? They eventually end up in New York, living begrudgingly in the hidden city with someone they don’t quite like.

They meet Cass, Sunita, Donnie’s online friend Donnie, and even MORE shenanigans ensue!! People get hurt, hearts broken, family ties tested, pasts revealed, and many, many hugs are given.

The photo references will often be out of date, so refer to the text parts of this post.

Q: What the hell is up with the birds?

A: They we’re mutated in their eggs with the DNA of two bio parents and a bird. The bird part was meant to increase speed and eyesight and similar things, but mostly just shows up in their patterns. They do have bird behaviors, like nesting and chirping and beaks, but turtles already had that. (Except for Donnie, homeboy doesn’t have a beak)

Q: Who mutated them?

A: ;) All I’ll tell you for now is that it was purposeful, similar to Rise. Leo was five when she was rescued, Raph one, and the twins in their eggs.

Q: What is the turtles relationship with each other?

A: Much like 2k12, Raph challenges Leo a lot. He knows she’s keeping things from them, won’t explain her scars, and there’s more to why they need to hide. All the boys tend to disrespect her place as leader, but are generally very close. Mikey and Donnie lean on each other, finding solidarity in being the “broken” ones(blind and softshell). The generally don’t need to talk to understand each other. They all cuddle and while they bicker, love each other very much. Overall, the relationship is good!

Leo - Turquoise Tanager - Ger

-Oldest at 19 years old

-Name is Leo or Ger

-DNA is spliced from a diamondback terrapin and a blue-winged teal

-Transfem and uses she/her

-English is her second language, learned when she was closer to four

-Terrified of snakes, extremely protective of her brothers

-Their tech abilities are currently undetermined

-Mostly nonverbal, uses TFS (three-finger sign)

-Gets so fucking anxious and overwhelmed when feeling warm emotions

-Ninpo is creating objects from "thin air." They actually use nutrients from their own body or around them, so they have to be careful with what they eat and create.

-Obsessed with history, biology, and making sweet grass baskets

-There's a stupid amount of preserved plantations(you know the kind) in the area. They have burnt one to the ground on one confirmed occasion.

-Their idea to wear handles on their body for Mikey to grab if he needs grounding

Guess what my dumbass deleted?!

Maybe it was for the best because my speech-to-text was acting up and I sound like I was having a stroke.

So here's the first draft that like I said before, I love @furiousjellifish concept for this AU and I do think that would be wearing in their day-to-day wear. While I think that 6 what they present in when they want to Dazzle it up or have to show up for ceremonies or festivals or other Godly duties.

So I ended up changing a lot because I was not happy with the color placement. And a lot of little things, for example, the arm coverings I was not happy with that. I was bouncing off ideas and I changed my mind a lot. That's why the middle part is green. And while I did end up changing a few things I did keep the design of the crown although I ended up changing the color later.

I noticed that I gave Leo the same expression I gave Lou jitsu when I sketched up the first draft of the god of fame. Because Leo mirroring his dad's personality is a constant throughout the Multiverse.

Fun fact, the reason why his face looks so weird is because when I was coloring it I grabbed the wrong marker, and didn't realize it until it was too late tried to fix it made it worse. Which is sad because I really did like how it was turning out.

Now the crown, at first I did a silver color but I changed my mind and went with gold. I think it matched it better. The stone is sapphire but if you have other suggestions I'm happy to hear them. Now the flowers are white cherry blossoms, I chose the white cherry blossoms because they're very simple flowers, which shows how young, and that he's in the beginning of the journey, there are also a few rose blooms hidden there, to foreshadow becoming the god of Romance. But the main flower are blue clematis, in the west, they represent cleverness, loyalty, and courage that are often found on roads, and grow in bundles so perfect for Leo.

Now on to his outfit, I changed the middle part completely. And I put both the Hamato Clan symbol and the Mad Dog instead of it being on the actual outfit. It's a very simple and very youthful outfit, I was going to go out ,but decided to save that for later.

We agreed that Leo was born at dawn, so that's what I was going for with the sleeves. And also are the colors of his brothers but in a more pastel tone. Besides wanting to tie it to the dawn theme I was going with, the reason why I chose to give Leo such a light blue for his outfit and add the colors of his family, is because Leo hasn't become the god of romance or has been recognized as the god of strategy/ medicine yet. He's still very unsure of his position in the family, he still is very dependent and ties his identity to them. And I wanted that to reflect on his clothing,

So when you look at this outfit, the first thing your eyes are drawn to are the purple red, and orange details.

Then we have his pouch because of course, even when he's in his full get up, he needs to have something that ties him to medicine, and why not the thing that made the whole fandom tie him to that particular head Cannon?

Maybe I'll give him a third outfit like I did with Donnie. After all the god medicine, needs to be able to move around too, but if I do I'll sketch it out when I'm trying to figure out his God of romance outfit, and if you guys have ideas I would love to hear them.

Now we have the Sokka rip-off, I mean the mortal disguise. I originally wanted to give him a cape future Leo Style but decided against it, I also thought about giving him a sun hat, like I did in the Leo Usagi first meeting comic, but I was too lazy to draw it. The colors are more faded due to the fact that he's in disguise. His satchel is brown instead of blue and that also I did have this micro idea of him not wearing his mask when he's down there with Usagi , unlike his brothers, or he stops wearing it the more times that he goes down there. I'm pretty sure there's some symbolism there but I'm too lazy to think of it right now.

In the original post I mentioned, that I stopped drawing when I was in my early teens between 14 and 15, but I started drawing at the end of last year (funny enough it was also because of an elaborate Au I'm working on it) but life got in the and I ended up not drawing for a few months. But working on this Au with you guys, that are so creative and so fun to talk to, I got my mojo back so thank you a lot for that.
