Legacies rewrite prompt:
Legacies rewrite where all of the students parents (including the Mikaelsons and Caroline) have no clue what Alaric has been up to. Alaric's efforts to cover up how off the rails he went make it easy to hide his own death when his shitty gaslighting manipulative attitude and behaviour pushes the gang over the edge and they end up killing him.
6 yrs later tribrid Hope and Heretic Lizzie run into Marcel and Rebekah who are investigating a string in the vampires.
Dark magic, Violence, Sex and the kind of poor decisions that only happen when children are desperate and the adults around them are only out to use them

i saw a tweet earlier today regarding barbie and oppenheimer and I realized how I haven't seen a lot of people talking about the potential anti-asian racism and whitewashing in the oppenheimer movie considering that it's a biopic set during world war 2 (tbf, I haven't gone through the oppenheimer tags on tumblr and twitter). I just know that those parts are gonna be overlooked due to being a Christopher Nolan movie
ok just for context i'm gonna paste the trailer for oppenheimer here
youtube
So I haven't talked about the inherent racism of making a tragic hero out of Oppenheimer on here but I want to clarify I'm not Asian and I'm not Japanese and I would like those voices prioritized here.
If you don't know much about Christopher Nolan besides yay batman movies... you gotta know a few things about him. Even in his batman trilogy he whitewashed nonwhite characters. Notably Ras Al Ghul, Talia Al Ghul and Bane. i'm not going to delve into how his movies besides tenet predominantly featured white casts. but just take that as a fact. Tenet was an exception not the general rule of his filmography.
Moving on for those that don't know about Oppenheimer I'm gonna refer you to a few wiki articles
First Oppenheimer
and now his legacy the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Even though I'm referring you largely to wikipedia articles you gotta understand followers that the casualty numbers are wrong on article
Tumblr media
mainly the bottom number of 129,000-226,000 killed.
Like that may not seem like much heck its not even the population of San Francisco. But you gotta understand that these numbers are wrong for the plain and simple fact that Japanese people around Hiroshima and Nagasaki also were affected with radiation and like chernobyl some died quick deaths and others died slow deaths. So you can't really put a number to that sort of devastation.
There's this narrative in the USA that in WWII we did everything possible to stop the nazis. But instead of focusing on the devastation of the bombings we're focusing on a tragic white man who from the beginning understood what this bomb would do??? Like yes he was haunted there's even this
Tumblr media
So like we have this narrative of a tragic antihero that saved us from war with the axis but then was haunted by what it had cost him. And what I can't understand is why we revere him so much. This is as much a movie about USAmerican ingenuity as it is about how poor widdle Oppenheimer created the most powerful weapons in history and was haunted by it.
I haven't seen it but its very telling that Nolan didn't choose to depict the horror of the bombings and instead the single tragic man that choose to create them.
honestly its sickening. because now Cillian is gonna get nominated for his role as Oppenheimer, they're going to shove it down our throats that old USAmerican propaganda that we needed to bomb the Japanese to stop the war even tho nazis were defeated already. the Japanese were still fighting but we had them out manned and out gunned.
Tumblr media
Don't let anyone tell you that this movie isn't propaganda.

Its been a while since I’ve actually sat down to discuss EAH lore or anything EAH related in general. I got a good amount of promps but right now I wanted to focus on one that was submitted to me by @birdbombs714 regarding my thoughts on Alistair and Lizzie’s relationship
Thank you so much for this idea! And happy birthday! (Edit: Where I live it’s already almost 1am so in my time zone, it’s technically the day after as I’m posting this so I’m a bit late. I’m so Sorry. I meant to post this sooner 😭) Thought I’d dedicate this one to you as a little gift if you will! Hope you enjoy :)
Something I find really interesting regarding Alistair and Lizzie in general is the fact that they’re one of very few “future villain and hero” duos that dont seem to have any sort of tense relationship. On the contrary, all the wonderlandians seem to have been good friends from a very young age. But as the characters destined to be the next Alice and the next Queen of Hearts, its very refreshing seeing these two just being friends with no real hard feelings towards each other. Like it honestly makes me wonder what kind of relationship their moms had.
You know I love going into the parents lore when it can provide an expansion on the children’s lore so lets talk about Alice and the Queen of Hearts real quick, both in the context of EAH and in the Alice in wonderland story. In the context of EAH, I don’t think they were ever super close friends like Alistair and Lizzie, but I do think they had a good deal of respect for each other even before committing to their stories. There never seems to be any implication that Lizzie’s mom hated Alistairs mom, which I actually find quite fitting given their characterization in the original story. What’s interesting about their dynamic in the original Alice in wonderland story is the fact that their dynamic isn’t really influenced by something personal like a good amount of fairytale hero and villain duos (for example: Snow White and the Evil Queen). Instead, it’s influenced by the fact that Alice finds herself in a place where all rules and logic work differently, hence why she runs into so many weird and frustrating misunderstandings with the characters. The Queen of Hearts is a temperamental tyrant whose bad side is very easy to get on given the amount of people she executes for petty reasons. Alice just so happens to especially gets on her bad side for the simple reason that Alice doesn’t know how to navigate the logic of the world shes in, and as a result she accidentally does and says things that go against the logic and customs of wonderland and as a result, especially piss off the Queen.
With that said, lets talk about how this translates over to Lizzie and Alistair. I’ve talked about this in the past, but I wholeheartedly subscribe to the theory that the reason Alistair’s last name is “Wonderland” instead of “Liddel” like Alice in the original story, is because during the Evil Queen’s takeover, Alice probably either disappeared or died (this is also potentially supported by the fact that we see all of the wonderlandians’ parents at some point with the exception of Alice), and so, Alistair was sort of co-parented and raised by all the other wonderlandians parents in Wonderland. And so, they renamed him from “Alistair Liddel” to “Alistair Wonderland” as a sort of tribute to both his mother and the world. We know Alistair canonically grew up in Wonderland unlike his mother, so he’s used to the logic and customs of the place despite the narrative of his story’s legacy saying otherwise. He quite literally grew up around Lizzie and the others and I actually attribute this to Lizzies relationship to her destiny. We know from her bio information that while she wants to follow her destiny, Lizzie wants to be a less villainous, kinder Queen of Hearts than her mom, and even then it’s implied her mom wasn’t actually that bad and became a lot more temperamental as a result of the wonderland curse (hence why I also think in the context of EAH, Alice and the Queen of Hearts didn’t dislike each other that much. ). Because Alistair and her were raised right alongside the other wonderlandians, Lizzie has no reason to dislike Alistair the way the Queen of Hearts does to Alice in the original story. On the contrary, she considers him one of her closest friends. Obviously, she probably has other reasons, but her friendship with Alistair is probably one reason she wants to be more lenient in her future reign.
That analysis aside, I definitely think they’re just friends, nothing romantic. I know some people ship them but I personally prefer Lizzie with Maddie and Kitty over anything. Also this is a 100% on the writers but when compared to Lizzie, Kitty, and Maddie, Alistair and especially Bunny’s characterization suffers pretty greatly, I feel. Mainly because most of their individual screentime is dedicated to their romantic feelings for each other, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing but the way their relationship is portrayed frustrates me so much so I don’t really pay much attention to it. As a result though, it makes shipping Alistair with anyone else in his friend group also really hard, because when compared to someone like Lizzie who has a lot of development, he doesn’t feel as fleshed out, yknow. This isn’t Alistair slander, its just my personal view. When thinking of the 5 wonderlandians as a group, I think of them as a sort of found family more than anything. And as far as romantic shipping goes, I mainly focus on Lizzie, Kitty, and Maddie as a sort of poly relationship. But anything is valid as long as its not illegal, obviously.
I apologize if this feels really unorganized and convoluted but I had a lot of thoughts and I was trying my best to fit them in this post in a way that felt correlated 😭. But anyway, I don’t talk about Lizzie that often even though shes my favorite wonderland and overall right up there in my top 5 favorite characters in Ever After High so this enabled me to talk about her a pretty good bunch ❤️

Best Zukka fic recs and/or Azula centric fics (bonus points for both!) I'm desperate for more content.
(digging thru my bookmarks) hoo boy ok let's see
i'm gonna put a cut because this might be long!! idk what all of the zukka 'classics' you've read so i just included 'em if they're my faves. list is in no particular order, pls heed warnings/tags on AO3 as some include potentially triggering content ~
like the sun inside of you by ofherlionheart: Zuko is sixteen years old when he’s handed a crown, a throne, and a hundred-year ancestral legacy of colonial imperialism. He’s not scared of the work; he’s scared of being consumed by the responsibilities and burdens he’s claimed. What Zuko doesn’t quite realize, yet, is that he’s not alone in this. Still in progress, one chapter left to go. Very slow-burn Zukka, and some great Azula stuff
To Cleave These Roots We've Made by Erisenyo: Sokka and Zuko have been roommates and best friends through college and graduation, through first jobs and new jobs and promotions, through friends getting married and sisters being pregnant and everything in between. But that all ends in four days. Four days to pack up an apartment. Four days before Zuko goes to law school and Sokka stays behind. Four days to untangle two lives that Sokka and Zuko have spent ten years weaving together. Can you call it a divorce, if you were never actually together in the first place? I don't remember Azula's involvement in this, but gosh darn it's a good one
i won't stumble as i follow down this path (cause words that are spoken are just other things to have) by jublis: It takes Zuko one year to visit his sister again. Featuring birthday weeks, struggling with your own goodness, and a future. Pretty sure this is a Zukki, ft. Azula very heavily
Destiny in the details by salytierra: Sokka heard that story before. Of course he did, the turning point of Zuko's destiny, the single bravest and most noble (or stupid) thing he's ever done. He retold the thoughts that went through his head back then, the repercussions... but he left out a single detail. And it's that detail that changes everything.  I need to see his soulmark. Sokka thinks, heart hammering in his chest. Fantastic post-canon soulmate AU. Azula's not in it, though
Divine Intervention by AggressiveStress: Sokka has had a lot of dates but they never stick around and he doesn’t know why. Literally everyone else knows why. Honestly I don't remember much about this one I just know I really liked it hahaha
Maybe I Don't Want Heaven by inkfingers_mcgee: Zuko does not realize that he wants to break up with Mai until she says, “We need to talk about us,” with an unmistakable finality, and the candles around his meditation mat don’t even flicker. // Five years after ascending the throne, Zuko reaches yet another crossroads of self. Sokka helps him through it. Mai incites national legislative reform. Azula is listed as a character in this one but I don't remember her role. The fic is great though. slow burn in case u haven't caught onto the trend of my fave fics yet haha
Of Tea and Turtle Ducks (and the Turtle Duck Guy) by Erisenyo: Sokka is nothing if not enthusiastic about his interests--Learning. Campus traditions. The campus turtle ducks. The guy who's watching the ducks so intently this year.  Zuko is nothing if not intense about duck watching. (It's not really about the ducks.) (Is it ever?) No Azula again but gosh darn it this fic is so cute. (expect more erisenyo on this list whoops)
this ultraviolet morning light by GallifreyanFairytale: sokka and zuko break up, make up, go undercover, thwart a rebellion, watch the sunrise, and change the course of fire nation history. not necessarily in that order. I don't remember the level of Azula's involvement in this fic, but I do remember she's in recovery and Zuko thinks about her a fair amount.
Empty Bodies, Empty Smiles by attackfish: Zuko sorts through the wreckage of his childhood and comes across a doll given to his sister. Not a shipping fic, just a character study of sorts of Azula as a child. It's... very sad, but incredibly nuanced in its understanding of her as a very unhappy and unfortunately disturbed child
Will We Last the Night by CSHfic/VSfic: Chief Arnook never assigns Sokka to protect Princess Yue, so he goes to fight the Fire Nation with the other men. When the moon dies, and the ocean spirit takes its revenge, Sokka is caught standing on the deck of a Fire Nation ship. Sokka should have drowned… and he would have drowned, if not for a certain Fire Nation raft fleeing the North Pole. An enemies-to-lovers season 2 rewrite, where Sokka is separated from the gaang during the Siege of the North, and travels the Earth Kingdom with Zuko instead Azula is just S2 Azula w/o redemption I believe, but my goodness the Zukka is just so. SO sweet
Burning Bright by Erisenyo: On a particularly hopeless night, Zuko sends out a messenger hawk to nowhere. He didn’t realize that his messenger hawk is deeply committed to completing the job. And that Sokka happens to be traveling straight through nowhere, at the time. I'm currently rereading this series for the umpteenth time, it's amazing, highly recommend, Azula is hyper intriguing in it too w/ a very complicated relationship with Zuko
All's Fair by Lovely_Elbow_Leech: Book one ends with two major diffrences: 1. Sokka went on the mission with Hahn (it did not go well) 2. Zhao survives the North Pole and that proves unfortunate for everybody (except Zhao, obviously)  Imprisoned on Zhao’s war ship, Sokka and Zuko have to work together to survive. They are not very enthusiastic about this prospect.  And they argue. A lot. Another of my top faves. Book 2 is in progress
Real Slow by surveycorpsjean: “I see.” Zuko closes the scroll. “Is the Water Tribe sending a replacement?" “Uh yeah,” Sokka gestures to himself dramatically. “You’re looking at him.” No Azula I believe but heckin' slow burn
this is a gift (it comes with a price) by WitchofEndor: There is a ghost on the Wani. But the crew have grown used to - even fond of - Prince Zuko. And no matter how many times General Iroh tries to gently explain the boy’s predicament, tries to suggest that he might attempt to move on, Prince Zuko can always be found watching the sea. There is a prisoner in the palace. Not Zukka, but the relationships in it are fantastic, including Azula and Zuko.
While Mighty Oaks Do Fall by WitchofEndor: The newly-crowned Fire Lord Ozai offers his firstborn son to service in the temple. This turns out to be a catastrophic mistake. Wacky crazy fic. There's something funky fresh happening with Azula, but it's an in-progress fic so. who knows where it'll go
I probably don't need to include The Art of Burning but it's in my fave bookmarks so. Same for Blue
Also in retrospect I have a lot of issues with this fic, but here's my post-canon Zukka w/ Azula redemption fic: New Heights

You said in your list of episodes that you don’t like 4.07 and 5.04 for lots of other reasons and I’m wondering if you could say more?
Oh boy, okay, get ready for another essay.
(And again, to clarify, I love our show. I don't like to be negative and nitpick every little detail. But no show is perfect, and to me these are two of the episodes that really just missed the mark.)
4x07 Fire Fight
This one already made it onto my least favorite Chenford eps for reasons I spelled out here. But that's actually not my main beef with the episode. It's Nolan's storyline that I dislike. First of all, I've always found it to be unnecessarily depraved and gruesome. And I realize there are actually people like that in the world, and that's clearly what they were going for, but I did not enjoy watching it. They could have accomplished the same ultimate storytelling goal in a less horrifying way. Secondly, Nolan's escape is just absolutely unrealistic. I know, I know, he's the protagonist. And obviously I knew from the beginning that he was going to make it out alive, because they're not going to kill off their lead. But I honestly had zero investment in how he was going to make it out. I don't care how much adrenaline was coursing through him, I can't suspend my disbelief enough to make his escape seem remotely realistic.
5x04 The Choice
First of all, RIP Annie Wersching. I was so shocked and saddened when she passed away. She was a talented actress and such a good villain in both this show and Castle. It also explains why the storyline was wrapped up so hastily. I know they were limited in their options. That being said, I didn't like how it ended. I already talked about the Chenford of it all in my previous post (in short, there was a lack of compassion from Tim toward Lucy's trauma and a lack of closure for both of them). My main complaint about the rest of the storyline is (a) plot holes and (b) the John and Bailey of it all. Actually, part (a) goes back to the end of 5x01 when Rosalind somehow escapes across the border. Like... what??? As if the plates on that car wouldn't have been flagged??? There's absolutely no way a high profile criminal like her would have been able to cross the border in the same car she used to flee the scene, but according to Grey that's exactly what happened. And then she comes back just to torment John and end up dead? If they'd given Rosalind a terminal illness as well, it might have made sense. Like, she wanted that to be her legacy, to corrupt the incorruptible boy scout and make him live with that for the rest of his life. But since they didn't go that route, it just felt like she was inexplicably giving up. I was left with a lack of understanding and a lack of closure. Lastly, the actual way it all went down had too many unrealistic moments. Like... am I supposed to believe that Bailey and her crew showed up at that house and Bailey just happened to be the one to fall into that trap rather than any of the others? Too convenient. And for the life of me, I will never understand why Tim used an axe to try to break the glass (which was very obviously not going to break that way) when he could have just had Bailey back against the wall of the trap so he could shoot a hole in it and let it start to drain. I'm sure there are other details too that I'm not remembering, but really my overall point is that - even on a shortened timetable - there was so much potential for this storyline to come to a satisfying resolution, but that didn't happen.

I honestly think we all have a lot to unpack still. I know I do. On one hand, there is the anger and feelings of betrayal people are feeling because of the final actions Elliot took. But at the same time, we watched him grow up and some (like me) who are newer to the story and binged to catch up, all the good times with Hope are very much fresh in our mind. So while I wanted to snatch his ass up at the post before the choke out scene, the minute I realized where this was going, I legitimately lost it and cried. Cin, I cried like he was my favorite cousin. And here I was watching him self destruct, powerless to stop it all.
Sean was dealt a near impossible hand and then proceeded to play the shittiest game of poker ever. But at the end of the day, I do believe he loved his son. He just… was not equipped to be the father Elliot needed. And like someone mentioned, the Drakes were the family and support he never got at home.
So here he is at a time of crisis in his life, he looks back to where he was happiest. We need to remember that while his actions were abhorrent (violence of that magnitude against someone you claim to love is NEVER justifiable), he was in the middle of a mental breakdown. He could not see a way out of the pain and suffering. To him, the only way to stop it was death. When a person gets to that point, when every thought is fatalistic and they feel boxed in on all sides, suicide seems like a blessing.
I am not and will never defend his actions or Sean’s inability to be the father Elliot needed. But there was a time when we all were rooting for Elliot. When we believed in him and Hope. This is what we should mourn. The potential, the boy in there who was reaching out for something all children should have: the unconditional love of a parent.
And now here we are surrounded by the catastrophic remains of Elliot’s actions. Much like Darren, it’s understandable that our first reaction is to snatch up Sean and scream that Elliot deserves no forgiveness. But Darren saw the devastation in Sean’s eyes. He saw a parent coming to the horrible realization that he failed his child on every. single. level. He also recognized the very same pain clawing at his chest mirrored in Sean’s features. When faced with that, all you can do is fall apart.
So no, we shouldn’t feel sympathy for Elliot in light of his last actions on this earth. But as human beings, we should acknowledge the sheer agony that led up to said actions. We should remember that boy whose friendship was a cornerstone in Hope’s (and all the Drakes honestly) life. That is the person we should sympathize with because that child never stood a chance.
Now we all have to deal with the consequences of the final act of a desperate man. Those actions were unbelievably selfish, horrific and cruel. But that’s not going to be what stays with Hope. When she wakes up, she is going to be told that her oldest friend is gone. She is going to remember those last moments and obsessively wonder what she could have done to save him. This is the trauma every single person who ever cared about Elliot has to reckon with now. And that right there is the sad legacy he leaves behind.
Oof... Let's get into it:
Tumblr media
Absolutely all of the above! I couldn't agree more.
So here we have 3 REALLY important moments in Elliot's relationship with his dad and just his life in general:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Not only did E feel like "what team" but a team is supposed to symbolize some kind of family, you don't let your "team" down. But as we learned through Kendrick, even his team/family was flawed. Its like everywhere that Elliot turned for support he couldn't find it UNLESS it was Hope. Kendrick's purpose was to distrupt what should have been Elliot's squad, he was the QB and everyone on the line is supposed to protect the QB..... until Sean took him out of position. Like Hope had Robin and Aaliyah as team mates that became besties. These are the support systems that were so elusive to Elliot.
When I think about such an influential yet disturbed character like Elliot, I think about the whole spectrum of them, especially long-term characters like E. I thought about that spectrum for days. Where did it start, what happened along that spectrum of simulated life and the ultimate end of it. I learned from my own damn writing (smh) that no matter where Elliot turned, nothing was what he needed unless it was Hope. There was no healthy alternative.
Maybe part of the reason they used to scheme on how to get Sean a girlfriend when they were kids is because they were foreshadowing a very dark future if Elliot was left to his own devices with Sean behind the wheel. Basically, I had to study Elliot from the moment he entered the story, until he took his last breath today and, unfortunately, the end result was the only result. And its real, and we need to check on our people as much as we can.

Honestly what does give me a little comfort in kind of a messed up way is the fact that us sapphics aren't exactly alone-they pretty much screwed over EVERY minority lmao: Nate's storyline wasn't really explored and mostly centered around his relationship with Jade, Keeley could have had a whole fish out of water storyline like Ted about winning over her coworkers but instead the focused on her relationship drama, completely wasted Edwin and Shandy's potential for cheap laughs, gave a half assed attempt at writing Sam's storyline only to call him literally getting hate crimed a "big whoop" and never address it again, never actually giving Dani a storyline, like the list goes on and on XD its honestly kind of impressive how they managed to lowkey tear down their entire legacy Omg if you can edit your reddit post you should also mention how the only other sapphic character on the entire show is that creepy dog breeder..
This is so true. It feels like they dropped the ball for every single minority character and the longer you think about it the worse it gets.
Let’s talk Nate for a second because his whole storyline really baffles me. They had him coaching at Westham, and then they had him quit (or was he fired?) from Westham OFF SCREEN? And then suddenly an episode later he’s back as the assistant kitman for Richmond? I’ll never understand why these writers were so dead set on him coming back to Richmond, all so he could just fade into the background. And while I do believe the whole kit man decision was a temporary one, and that going forward they made him a coach again, I don’t like the implication that he worked through his issues this whole season to just end up back where he was. There’s no reason Nate couldn’t have gone off and gotten another coaching job at another team! He’s still the Wonder Kid, clearly has mad skills and credibility, you can’t tell me there isn’t a team who would have wanted him! I understand he had to return to Richmond briefly to have closure and make his apologies, but then he could’ve gone off to coach elsewhere and continued to spread the Lasso Way and change the lives of other people! We didn’t need him at Richmond when basically all the work has already been done. I wish they would’ve given me any indication that he’d really been impacted by this whole arc he went through & then gone off to be the change he wanted to see in the world.
Keeley’s whole storyline being about Jack & the business was such a waste of Juno Temple’s amazing acting, and an underutilization of the fan favorite character we know and love. Most everything about her seemed so off this season? And as you pointed out, she really didn’t even become Miss Independent until the very end when Rebecca took over financing and she was able to make decisions about her own business finally. I would’ve much rather they had Rebecca funding it from the start (or at least earlier in the season) so we could have seen her adventures and misadventures through running her own company that didn’t have anything to do with her messy, exploitative relationship with Jack.
The way I feel about them trying to tackle racism with Sam’s storyline is the same way I feel about them trying to tackle homophobia with Colin’s. If you’re gonna half ass it, don’t do it at all. And they certainly didn’t put half the amount of time and effort they needed to into thinking up how to properly handle Sam’s storyline. We went through the whole hate crime that was never addressed again. And then we had this big problem with Edwin in the final episodes where he was like “I’m going to destroy your entire life and you’ll never make money with the restaurant and you’ll never play for the National team.” And then that was just NEVER addressed again?? Not even a throwaway line about Rebecca taking care of it or something?? He was suddenly playing on the Team and the only explanation we were given from Brendan during the AMA was that it was due to ‘national outcry’ like give me a break. Not to mention we never saw Simi again and so we never got to see if she and Sam ended up together. We were sort of just left to infer that everything worked out for Sam, and that just doesn’t work for me.
Poor Dani Rojas was doomed to be nothing more than a joke from the very start. He deserved more, but at the same time I’m almost glad they didn’t give him more because the storylines this season were awful.
So yeah, feels like all of the minorities on the show lost. I don’t know how the writers managed to do this in so little time, but you’re right it is really impressive.

Okay, disclaimer here. I can't really call myself a true fan of Disney's Wish, just as it is. I do think the film had a LOT of really good ideas and I do think that a lot of artists and creative types put sincere work into it -- I mean, all one really has to do is look at the Wish art book to see that the creators wanted to salute a lot of Disney's overall legacy with their work. However the result turned out -- and I personally found it a bit half-baked with a lot of story and character elements that just didn't quite come together for me -- I like the overall concept enough that I've really enjoyed seeing the fandom embrace those good ideas and reinterpret them. I like the art people have started doing based on Star's old designs by artists like Brittney Lee. I like people writing drafts with villainous-couple-goals Amaya and Magnifico. I like people envisioning Asha as becoming a fairy godmother more in the vein of Whitney Houston's version of the Fairy Godmother in the 1998 Rodger's and Hammerstein's Cinderella! So everything I'm going to write here is from a place of sincerely wanting to add onto the original concept and perhaps improve on it, rather than just out of a desire to make petty pot-shots at the film.
With this out of the way, let me get to the crux of it.
Tumblr media
(concept art by Brittney Lee, found in Disney's The Art of Wish)
Now of course people have discussed the concept of Star as a love interest for Asha before. And I won't lie, I do think it's cute! It could even offer a great potential for diversity if Star remained androgynous gender-wise, the way they are in the finished film. Honestly, even having a completely mute leading character and love interest throughout the entire picture would undoubtedly be a unique and special challenge for any animator and storyteller...and for those people who want to evoke old Disney projects, it would prove a great opportunity to build on the legacies of voiceless Disney characters like Dumbo, Bambi, and Tinker Bell, while still adding a new twist in the form of this character being magical and therefore being able to express their feelings not just through colors and body language like Tink does, but perhaps also through the instrumental score! You could embody the whole core of Fantasia -- a passion project of Uncle Walt's that he never saw appreciated in his lifetime but is widely considered to be a masterpiece of animation and music -- in one character!
This leads nicely into another tack this could've played into -- the idea that Star could be an embodiment of Golden/Silver Age Disney, while Asha embodies Renaissance/Revival Disney. Star could be endlessly optimistic and a bit naive, but strangely resilient -- something that seems fragile and helpless at first glance until you realize just how many people and creatures alike gravitate toward them and want to help and protect them. Meanwhile Asha could be all about proving herself -- she could want to become a powerful magician and do great things like her master King Magnifico, but lack confidence in her own abilities and feel isolated thanks to how much her service to and desire to honor Magnifico has isolated her from others.
Star would be Snow White to Asha's Tiana. The Aurora to her Mulan. The Tinker Bell to Asha's Elsa. The bright star to Asha's cool, thoughtful night.
And this is what I love most about this idea -- their relationship wouldn't need to be romantic. It could be platonic. It could be romance-adjacent. Or, if one wants to really go and do something different for a Disney movie...Star could be a child. A mute, sweet, brand-new star, one just born, that responded to a wish that Asha made when she thought no one could hear -- a wish she has trouble admitting to anyone, especially her mentor and toxic father figure, King Magnifico -- because as much as she plays contentment, there is a part of Asha deep down that wants something more. That remembers the loving embrace of her deceased parents and how much Magnifico can't quite capture that warmth and nurturing, however tight his hold might be and placating his words might be. And out of that wish is born this little bundle of stardust, which Asha is now suddenly responsible for and wants desperately to hide and protect from Magnifico.
In essence, Asha would be put in the same position that Willow is put in, when he suddenly becomes the caretaker for baby Elora in the film Willow.

Now that would change up the context for At All Costs, wouldn't it? This lullaby-like song would resonate awfully well in a story where Magnifico sees Asha as an apprentice and almost surrogate daughter and wants to "protect" her a la Mother Gothel by controlling everything in her life, while Asha sees this new Star who's now reliant on her and feels this strange, new desire to protect them from the man who filled the role of her father after his death in a selfless way that man could never understand?
If someone tried to hurt you... I don't see how that could happen! I'd fight for you in ways you can't imagine! Felt this? No, I haven't -- I hope it would be alright to Stay right here beside you...
It would be such a beautiful picture on how love can be both selfish and selfless -- how a villainous person can love, perhaps, but that that love is poisoned by the desire to mold someone into your image and hoard that person away from others who could "take them away" or "change" them...how love at its truest core is selflessness and fighting on behalf of others, to give them a world where they could live safely. And again, this could be either in a scenario where Star is Asha's "child" or her peer -- for a world can't be safe for all if anyone is under threat because of who we are. And Asha, Star, and Rosas all deserve to know true happiness, not just mindless, complacent contentment -- the happiness that can come from the birth of ideas we never thought possible, until we're given the freedom to dream and dream big.

I genuinely haven't decided if I'm going to have Makarov be dead or not in the Alvarez arc.
Because I hate that they brought him back so long after his death because it makes his sacrifice feel so cheap.
And I honestly want someone else to be guild master at this point. Like I would say the three potential best options at the point the series is at would be Erza, Mira or Laxus and I'm going to explain why.
To start with, I do not think pre tenrou Laxus should be guild master. He was an asshole that refused to help his guild in the phantom war unless Lucy slept with him, he attacked one of his own teammates when Freed told him they had lost and while it didn't hit, it was close, beat Gajeel up way worse than Jet and Droy did and likely would have done so until he'd killed Gajeel if Jet and Droy hadn't told him to stop and did try to attack them and he willingly put the entire town in danger so that he wouldn't have to admit he'd lost after Evergreen was beat and have his ego bruises. He was not a good person and needed to be taught a lesson.
However, post Tenrou Laxus is a different story. He's a lot less full of himself and doesn't look down on his guildmates. I honestly would say his fight against Ivan is the completion of that character arc because he fights his own father to defend his guild, putting them above his own blood, something he likely would not have done for anyone aside for the thunder legion pre tenrou. He also in tartarous, takes in far more of the bane particals in hopes of saving the towns people and risks his own life to get Tempestar's blood(in the anime) so that Yajima and the thunder legion could survive.
Laxus, as of 100 years quest, can be considered a good successor for the next guild master because he is more likely to continue the legacy Mavis wanted for the guild.
Mira is also a good option in that she likely knows a lot about the job, being the second in command from how she's always the one people talk to about guild based things if Makarov isn't around. She's also no push over and would probably not let someone like pre tenrou Laxus get away with the things that he did. She's definetly not as strong as she used to, after all she hasn't been consistently fighting for years but I don't think strength is what matters in being guild master. At least not for Fairy tail.
And Erza is an obvious member of the list since she was listed as the 7th guild master so she would make sense to be an option.
But the reason I'm torn with having Makarov die or not is because (without getting into spoilers) I already have a lot of canon divergence planned for the Alvarez arc(something which seems to occur more and more as the arcs go on).
Like I already have the most basic plot beats laid out for the later arcs, its just certain aspects surrounding them that are shifting around as I decide which idea is the best one to pick for those arcs. I've already been putting foreshadowing in the rewrite for a while, some that might be more obvious than others and some I really doubt anyone would think "Oh that's important" when first seeing it (I am not going to mention what aspects are the foreshadowing or when it started because again, spoilers and I am so excited to put the new stuff out once the rewrite is done and I don't want to give too much away for the plans I have)
And while I have no problem going extremely off canon in the au at all, there are just certain things where I'm like "Ok but would this benefit from having Makarov be dead or alive"
I'll probably have the answer once I get to the Alvarez arc in like 5 years (Jokes aside, I don't think it will take me 5 years to get there but this book is going to be long. Its already at 108 chapters with the rewrite putting it over 300 pages in the pdf I keep and I'd say its like halfway done. Because despite there being more arcs pre tenrou than post, I still consider Tenrou the midway point and I have the KOTSH, GMG, Tartarous and Alvaraz arcs to cover once the midway is done and post tenrou, even the canon version of the arcs start getting long.
I also swear I'll have the current arc finished soon. I always just take breaks between arcs just because it takes so long to write them and then the editing is a long process.

So. Finished Kiwami 2.
I can feel the details fading from my brain already, what the fuck was that. Even without the weird anti-Korean bullshit (seriously EVERYONE is Jingweon except Kazuki and Suyeon bugger this honestly) it was so fucking BORING, I didn't CARE about the fate of the Tojo, let it fall, who cares. The only reason I'm mildly interested in it staying is cause the Omi are worse. I wasn't as invested in the combat but in fairness I got into this series thinking the quick-changing between four unique combat styles was this franchise's gimmick but turns out I'm wrong :) That's fine, it's just one of the main reasons I picked up the game, that's okay.
The game's best bits were Ryuji and Daigo. Also I like seeing Yuya and Kazuki and Sayama, whilst not given the best treatment via the writers imo, is a really cool character.
Oh and Majima Saga was MUCH shorter than I expected which eh, lil disappointing, but I got closure with him and his Sotenbori past so I'll allow it (even though it makes me fucking CRY)
Time for some under the cut ranting:
Why is it that the Jingweon's whole 'death before dishonour, revenge above all else' is simply Bad And Evil And Backwards when I swear like....don't yakuza have similar creeds? Never back down, loyalty to the cause, to the family, debts must be repaid in blood and money alike. Maybe they're go a bit more with it but yakuza aren't above playing the long game for their goals (see Sera and Shimano). Is it bad when they Jingweon do it cause they're Korean? They're the bad guys I guess so.
Also WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON WITH TERADA. FUCK OFF. I TOLD YALL I DIDN'T TRUST HIM IN KIWAMI BUT APPARENTLY HIM AND KAZAMA ARE RIGHT PROPER PALS BUT THEN NO HE WANTS REVENGE BUT ACTUALLY NOT REALLY HE REALLY WAS OUR ALLY ALL ALONG?!?!?!?!? FUCK THIS
Speaking of the bastard, Kazama really likes taking two young brothers/comrades and telling them "go make something of yourselves, you have such great potential" but then proceed to give special attention to one of them for SOME fucking reason but then still plays the cool-headed and aloof mentor, like "no I don't play favourites I can't do everything for you" whilst doing Literally Everything For Them and fighting tooth and nail to get them to the top without letting on to anyone that he does actually care. Every day I grow angrier that Nishiki didn't kill him the first time. Fire again, boyo.
Also FUCK RYUJI'S DAD. SERIOUSLY, what is WRONG with dads in RGG games??? "You're saying my own mama threw me away?" "No! I begged her to leave you with me." I BEG YOUR FUCKING PARDON?! WHAT?! I- I JUST- HUH?!?!?!? WHAT?!?!?!!?? FUCK OFF?!?!?!?!?!!?!?
But now Ryuji. Oh my God Ryuji. What a character, what a lad, what a man. I don't give a fuck, okay, he earned the title of Dragon, bollocks to Kiryu. And I mean that.
'Dragon of Dojima', 'Mad Dog of Shimano', legends, yes, but inherently tied to and defined by men who ruined their lives, men who don't deserve their names attached to those boys legacies. Ryuji though? He's defined by none but himself, tied to no one, his strength and power and name belonging to him and him alone. The Golden Dragon. By God he earned that tattoo.
So then WHY did they KILL HIM OFF?!?!?!? THEY HAD TIME TO LEAVE, YES RYUJI HONEY I AGREE EVERY MAN OUGHTA BE A LILTTLE BIT STUPID, IT MAKES EM CHARMING, BUT THIS IS SO FUCKING DUMB!!! You are NOT falling apart, you are LITERALLY BUILT DIFFERENT. You make KIRYU look like a twink and he's survived about 17 bullets in his life at this point, you should be able to heal from TWO of the bastards in NO TIME JUST GET YOURSELVES TO A HOSPITAL AND FIGHT LATER YOU HAVE A SISTER TO GET TO KNOW YOU CAN TALK ABOUT YOUR MOTHER YOU CAN HAVE A FAMILY PLEASE DON'T-
And the less we say about that dumb ending the better. skrunksthatwunk already made a good post on why it's bullshit cause Jesus fuckin Christ on a unicycle WHY do they keep trying to but Heterosexual Romance in my Shirtless Men Beating Each Other Up Whilst Pouring Their Hearts Out To Each Other game.
But hey, Yakuza 3 should be fun!!!! Genuinely really excited to see what goes down!!!

ok let me talk about john 11:35 for a moment— or jesus wept
this fic is actually more recently written. it originally started as a Valentine's Day fic for the jcs discord server (sun/moon dynamics with jesus/mary/judas) but then it twisted into this big ole fic. you can still see the whispers of the fluff piece it once was, like when jesus compares mary to light and warmth and stares at the stars with judas. so i didn't get to actually join that challenge, but there was an effort!
i think it's quite clear the disciples in this fic were actually a commentary on most modern day religious spaces. like blatantly ignoring the words of jesus to focus on their hate instead? searching for power? having no forgiveness of empathy for even the man they call savior? yeahhhhh. i think the disciples are still sympathetic characters honestly, and they're more traumatized than anything. their perceptions of death are so scattered at the moment. so much so they can't even grasp what it means to die anymore. because jesus came back. he came back after the horrors. he suffered, but yet he's still here. so how bad can death truly be? and they want to ensure their legacies are intact. they want to become legends, just like they always did. but now, two of their own just died at once. they have to scramble to make sure they're leaving something behind. so now, let's talk about the misogyny. we can see it begin to mold. we all know jesus accepted women perfectly well into the group, that it was the apostles and paul who started with the whole "women should sit down and shut up" type thing. but we can see that with mary's treatment. peter is the first person to disregard her when it comes to picking the next apostle. yeah he says it's because she's traumatized, but truly it's because he doesn't think he can handle sharing the spotlight with someone who jesus loves more than him again. (we all know i headcanon judas and peter as jesus' right and left hand). it's not necessarily that he's in love with jesus or anything like that, but he knows how he feels. he thinks he knows what's best at the moment. mary and judas? even jesus to an extent? ruled by their emotions for each other. he sees judas' betrayal as the result of some petty relationship drama. he won't have it coming in again to ruin everything he has planned. but peter is also viewing mary as weak. how can she grieve the man who killed jesus? why is she crying all the time when she should be spitting on his grave like the rest of them? it makes Peter not trust her. and then you just have the period-typical misogyny, too mixing with that. then, we also have matthias not even acknowledging her, even as she stands by jesus' side. she's not important to him or to the story, even if she's jesus' heart. she's already being erased by the narrative. and john making the choice of leaving their relationship as a whole out of his book? rooted in homophobia and misogyny. their version on jesus should be above the likes of mary and judas. i have a lot of disciples thoughts. they're not perfect, but they're not simply evil here either. they have their reasons. like can you imagine watching your friend die bc their boyfriend sold them out to the police, and no one really gives you a good explanation for it? you'd be pissed, too. you'd be hurt.
ONE OF THE THINGS IDK IF ANYONE HAS MENTIONED YET. He had caught sight of him one night, sitting amongst a field of poppies, the darkness encasing the deep red of them, the pale blue of Judas.- POPPIES ARE A SYMBOL OF DEATH. JUDAS WAS SITTING IN A FIELD OF POPPIES NIGHTLY. idk if anyone caught onto it, but i most definitely wrote that with an intention. ALSO i had never utilized feet washing scenes bc i don't want people to think i have a foot fetish but like. there's so much angst potential there, and gerohugerh.
also i tried to sprinkle as much judas imagery as I could (or at least what i find to be imagery) but the more obvious ones like the blue coat and peaches, and the judas tree as the hanging tree. but also birds, spring, and stars. hehe. very sell-indulgent.
my roman empire is mary and jesus moving to kerioth to feel close to judas. i love this idea. i love the picture of it. i headcanon kerioth as just the typical, small southern town. orchards and fields, farms and small schools, everyone knows everyone. i mean is this me projecting my own small town life? yeahhhh.
but something i didn't get to talk about is the issue of simon iscariot. but I think I'll save that one 👀
there's a part of me that want to add to this bc @pinkishflowersilverycoin and i hatched a plot in dms. like judas isn't in hell in this world. he's in heaven. jesus didn't go back, so it's just judas alone up there for the time being. he'll be the one to welcome all the disciples, mary, jesus when they die. (will jesus die?? who is to say?? is it some weird supernatural thing?? maybe.) but we felt like maybe judas would take on peter's supposed role at heaven's gate. he's the first one to get there. they'll all have to deal with him again, so even if the apostles think that he's just rotting somewhere, his will be the first face they see when they die.
also we didn't even get started on jesus and mary's kids (sara and elias of kerioth, respectively). we decided they would be the ones to write some gnostic gospels, wanting to set the record straight about their third hypothetical parent, and tell the actual story of their mourning parents.
and I think this is everything for now!

Previous Part - Next Part
Chapter 5, part 1
Anne
Anne Sallow was in the gray place between life and death on the day she was saved. After speaking with Ominis about potentially turning her brother in for his reckless and unforgivable acts against her uncle, Anne felt herself losing her grip on her emotions and her health. Frail, dazed, and heartbroken, Anne had wandered the Hamlets. Her direction was aimless; she had nowhere to go, and honestly the destination mattered little to her at that time. Dizzy with the trauma of seeing her uncle killed right in front of her, him being cursed by her own twin brother, doubled down with the exhaustion of her own illness, Anne’s only clear thought was that she must avoid anyone who would try to console her, her brother most of all. So, she walked. She walked for hours that felt like days in her weak state. She walked past empty hamlets, ruined homes, burning encampments, and distraught village-folk. How devastated they must be, she thought numbly. Ranrock and Rookwood had gotten them good, just as they had gotten her. Not a single wizard took notice of her. Not a witch offered her shelter or food. Once she reached a waterfront, she spent hours laying in the sand, listening to the water moving with the wind, and gazing at the birds flying overhead.
She couldn’t go on like this forever, she knew, but she was so weak. She had little coin, and what did it matter? She was dying anyways, damned with a cruel curse. No one could cure her, no one. Not even her brother Sebastian, who she knew would have given anything to make her better. Fool, she thought angrily. He’s done too much, and now what will become of him? Anne couldn’t even allow herself to feel the guilt inside of her. She pushed back the feeling, preferring the anger.
After some sleep and what must have been a full day, Anne finally forced herself up to find a trading post. She used the last of her money to buy wiggenweld potion and a bowl of soup. “You look unwell, girl.”, said the unfriendly tradesman.
“I’m dying”, she said, smiling weakly.
The man eyed her curiously, as if he was unsure how to respond. “What are you dying from?”, he said finally.
“A broken heart… and a curse”, she responded.
The man stroked his chin slowly and nodded his head, “May you find some peace.”
Anne nodded at this. “I will do that. I will”, and she walked on. She returned to her spot at the waterfront and took the wiggenweld potion, knowing that it would do little to alleviate the pain pulsing from her stomach. She felt cold take over her, so she took a few sips from the bowl of soup, but it only made her feel nauseas. Shivers ran up and down her spine and she let out a heavy cough. She put down the bowl and laid down on her side, her eyes beginning to feel heavy. This could be it, she thought. I can find peace.
Anne had no way of knowing how much time had passed when she finally opened her eyes again. It could have been days or weeks, all she remembered was a deep sleep. Even with that, Anne was surprised to find that she actually felt as if she had rested when she awoke. Her vision was blurry, but she could make out the heavy scent of incense and shadows cast by a dim warm candlelight. It was nighttime, Anne thought. She turned her head towards a flicker of movement on her right side. There was girl there, Anne realized. She looked at the girl, tall with beautiful, long and wild wavy brown hair, wearing a long purple shawl and boots. The girl was turned away from Anne, humming a catchy but comforting tune as she continued to light incense sticks around the room.
“Who are you?” Anne asked.
The girl turned around and looked down at Anne, “Hello, you”, she whispered with a smile. “You’re awake!”. She placed a hand on Anne’s forehead to feel her temperature and gently helped her sit up. “You’ve been sleeping a long time! I have been worried. How do you feel now?”. The girl’s voice was nice, Anne thought, relaxed and mysterious, almost melodic.
Anne stretched out and took a deep breathe, “I feel… good”, she said miraculously. What has she done to me to make me feel this way? Anne hadn’t felt so good since before she had been cursed.
The girls smile widened. “Good! Good! I think it’s working. My special paste”, the girl waved to a bowl of what looked to Anne to be nothing more than lake mud. Anne eyed it doubtfully. “Sorry, I should introduce myself!”, the girl laughed. “My name is Stella Belle. Stella Belle Ponmore, actually. I found you sleeping on the sand, damn near death, I’m afraid.” Anne smiled at the name, thinking that it was quite charming. Stella Belle, who couldn’t have been more than three or four years older than Anne was, extended her hand to Anne. “I couldn’t leave you there like that. I recognized the mark of a curse on you.”
Anne shook the girl’s hand, “I’m Anne. Thank you… for helping me. How did you treat me? I feel amazing, truly. The medical professionals at St. Mungos said there was no cure for my curse. They said there was nothing they could do to help me.”
Stella Belle sighed and smiled once again, “I can’t cure this curse Anne, I’m sorry. You will always have to treat this thing”, she paused but then smiled again, “but I bet, with my special paste, I can make it so you almost forget its there. I’ve been working on this recipe a long time and I think I really got it this time! You can live long and well!”
Anne inhaled a breath of disbelief. How can this be? “How? Its impossible. I’ve seen every specialist; I’ve tried every treatment.”
“That may be true, but you’ve never met a witch like me”, the girl winked at her. “Come, I’ll bring you into the main house and introduce you to my sisters”, Stella Belle reached out her hand and Anne took it, surprised to feel how strong she was as she stood up. Anne looked around her and finally took in the cabin that she had been sleeping in for who knows how long. The walls were covered with tapestries and taped-up paintings of flowers, the moon, and large trees. The floor was littered with pots, all sorts of plants growing out of them. Stella Belle noticed Anne’s curiosity. “You like my little place? This cabin has been my sanctuary since me and my sisters arrived here. I love them to death, but the Goddess knows that I have always been a bit of a recluse. I stay out here most nights, singing my songs and staring up at the moon. I never sleep”, she laughed.
Anne took in a breath of the incense-infused air. “It’s nice, a good place to wake up in”, she complemented as she followed the girl out of the cabin. The two girls walked in across a long grassy meadow to a large three-story white wooden home with black details on the windows and doors. “This is home for us!”, Stella Belle said as she opened the large double doors. “Sisters!”, she called out, “the girl is awake!”.
The interior of the home was simple, but charming with its white wooden structures and subtle details: golden candelabras on the shelves, potted plants on the windowsills, and crystals decorating the coffee tables. Stella Belle led Anne into a dining room where four young women were sitting, sipping tea. The beautiful red-headed one at the end of the table spoke first, “Goddess, it’s about time. I almost believed her to be a goner.”
Anne took in the young women’s long, pin-straight red hair, her large green eyes lined with bold full eyelashes, her dainty button nose, and full red lips, and suddenly felt subconscious about her own appearance. Before she could help herself, Anne’s fingertips went to her hair. It felt tangled and probably looked even worse. The red-headed women grimaced at her and Anne felt a sense of awe and insecurity due to the her beauty and… familiarity? Yes. Anne was sure she had met this girl before.
A brunette girl with ebony skin and large brown eyes rolled her eyes and spoke next as she got up out of her seat, “Don’t mind Clarrisa. She doesn’t bite as hard as she would like us all to believe she can. I’m Adrina”. The girl leaned in to give Anne a comforting hug before gesturing to the other two girls seated at the table. “This is Duffey”, she said as she gestured to a younger, short girl with cropped blonde hair, “and this is Massey”, waving to a freckled young woman with eccentric blue coloring in her long wavy locks of hair. The girls each gave Anne a warm, welcoming smile, even the red head. Anne felt comforted by this and smiled back.
The red-headed girl shrugged in a nonchalant way, “don’t worry, I’m only playing. We are all so happy to see that Stella Belle could pull off her mysterious mud paste. I never believed she could wake the dead.” This sentiment put a chill through Anne, even though the girl’s demeanor suggested she was joking in her own dark way. Stella Belle sighed and gave Anne a regretful look.
“How long was I… asleep?”, Anne asked timidly.
“Two months give or take, maybe a bit longer”, Stella Belle responded, putting her hand on Anne’s shoulder to comfort her. “Why don’t you have a seat?”, she asked as she pulled out the chair closest to them. Anne sat and Stella Belle sat in the chair nearest to her on the right. Anne quietly considered this. It had been two months since her uncle had passed away. Two months since she had last seen her brother. Where was he, she wondered. Had Ominis turned him in? Did he run off or did he return to Hogwarts? Anger filled her as her last moments with him returned to her. I don’t care, she thought. I will put the past behind me.
The younger girl named Duffey handed Anne a cup of tea and Anne gratefully took a sip, feeling the warmth hit her tongue and spread throughout her body a few moments later. She immediately felt calmer. “I made it with moon water”, the girl said reassuringly.
“Thank you. My name is Anne, by the way.” Anne said holding out her hand to Duffey and then to Clarrisa. “Do I know you from somewhere”, Anne asked the redhead hesitantly.
Clarrisa leaned back in her seat and sighed, “you might”, she said in an exasperated tone. “I’m assuming you were a student at that awful Hogwarts? I was a student there a couple of years back before I got the hell out.”
Anne was taken aback by Clarrisa’s description of Hogwarts. That awful Hogwarts? Anne had dreamt about returning to Hogwarts every night since she got ill. She missed nothing more than running through the halls with friends, teasing first-years, flying her broom through the courtyard, and practicing her spell casting. Anne felt a pang of sorrow at these memories; she hadn’t even practiced with her wand in over a year until that day when her Uncle Solomon had died… when the inferi corpses circled his body and Anne was forced to set them on fire… I will put the past behind me. Anne focused back on Clarrisa. “Yes, I remember you. I was only a second-year when you… left the school”. The memory came back to Anne now. Clarrisa was quite a popular fifth-year back then; even Anne knew about her despite being in a younger class.
“When she got expelled from the school, you mean?”, Adrina said, laughing. Expelled, Yes, Anne had remembered that now. The girl truly was quite popular at school and word of something as juicy as an expulsion got spread around by the students rather quickly. Still, Anne was unsure what she did to be expelled.
“Shut up, you bitch!”, Clarissa yelled, throwing an onyx quartz at the girl’s head. Although Adrina responded with an annoyed grimace, Anne could see a slight smile forming in the corner of the girl’s mouth. Anne sensed that this type of bickering was typical of their relationship, a sort of bonding. It reminded Anne of how her and her own twin brother used to fight, casting stink-bombs at one another as they ran through the halls of Hogwarts. That was before Anne got sick and Sebastian began to treat her as if she would break apart at the slightest disturbance.
Adrina giggled. “Don’t you dare tell the girl why you were expelled, Clarrisa. You may just scare her off,” Adrina said with an arched eyebrow.
Clarrisa gave Anne a mischievous look. “I didn’t do a thing. Not a thing wrong anyways…”. Anne gave her a look of curiosity, hoping she would continue.
Massey, the peculiar young woman with the blue hair, scoffed. “Clarrisa only exposed the soft pink behind of a potion-built muscle boy in front of the entire class”, she laughed.
Now, Clarrisa seemed irritated as she rolled her eyes. “I didn’t mean to do it! I didn’t even pick up my wand! Honestly, its most foul that Professor Hecat would even suggest that I could be held responsible. I was standing across the room!”. This shocked Anne. How could Clarrisa pull off such a trick without her wand?
“You did… do it though, didn’t you? You said that boy was vile…”, Stella Belle asked.
Clarrisa looked at Stella Belle with a blank stare, “That nasty fucking idiot thought he could charm his way into my pants. He got what he deserved.”
Anne couldn’t contain her curiosity, “You cast a spell without using your wand?”
Adrina clapped, “Hell yes, she did! They only knew it was her because another student overheard her whispering the spell! She sent that cry baby running home to mommy”.
All the girls laughed except for Clarissa. “I didn’t mean to do it!”.
“Yeah right,”, Massey said, “you spoke the words,”
“I didn’t know they would work without the wand, idiot!”, Clarrisa spat back.
“-Girls! Enough!”, interjected the voice of a tall, majestic looking woman with voluptuous brown curls on her head, entering the room from the main hall. The woman, who appeared to be in her late thirties, wore a floor-length white nightgown with long bell-sleeves that hung over her hipline, where her hands were now rested. “Clarrisa has a magnificent talent, one that she was not taught to control at the Hogwarts school. Her magic got the better of her, much like each of you, when you came to me.”
Stella Belle smiled and introduced Anne to the majestic woman. “Anne, I would like you to meet Voscha Zales.”
Voscha took Anne’s hand in her own and squeezed it tightly. “I am so glad to see that you have awoken and that you are strong.”, she spoke in a compassionate voice.
“Are you… also one of Stella Belle’s sisters?”, Anne asked. Anne was beginning to think that the group of women were not truly related by blood.
“We are all sisters here, yes.”, Voscha replied. “Some ties are stronger than blood, even. I am the girls’ sister, their mother, and their teacher oftentimes.”
“Voscha took all of us in when we needed it the most”, Stella belle told Anne.
“It’s true. I remember the day I found you. Thank the goddess that I got to you when I did.”
“It was a hell of day”, Stella Belle said with a pained look on her face, before her typical childlike smile returned. “You saved me.”
“What happened?”, Anne asked in concern.
Stella Belle grimaced, and her face transformed again to an angry one. “Muggles.”, she said. “I grew up in the muggle world, you know? I didn’t even know I had descended from a line of witches. My family never mentioned it and my own parents were muggles themselves… I always knew I was different though. I felt it in my veins and in my soul!”
Anne gulped nervously. She was afraid she knew where this was going. While Anne’s own family had steered far away from any muggle communities, Anne had heard about stories in which muggles became violent towards witches and wizards. Although Anne had never actually met anyone with such an experience, she supposed those types of things still occurred from time to time.
Stella Belle smiled sadly as she continued. “I used to love using my ‘special talents’ to heal others. It was mostly rabbits and injured birds in the beginning. Until there was a boy in my village, a year back or so. He was only eight, He had broken his leg when a horse ran into him, and the local doctors told him that he would never walk again. I knew I had to help him! So, I healed him up. It didn’t take too much out of me, honestly, and I was so excited to tell his parents what I had done. The boy was so grateful…”
Although Anne was afraid to hear the rest, she pressed Stella Belle to continue. “What did they do?”
“They hated me. My mother begged and cried, trying to convince them that I had just made it all up; that the boy was cured by some miracle, but no one believed her. The townsfolk took me from her and tied me to a tree. They were going to burn me at the stake”. Anne felt the anger rising in her chest. How twisted and cruel those muggles were. It was absolutely disgusting.
“A tale as old as time.”, Voscha shook her head in disappointment.
Stella Belle noticed the look on Anne’s face and spoke in a more soothing tone. “Don’t worry. They never had the chance. Lucky for me, Voscha had heard about what they were planning, and she got to me first. She made sure they could never hurt me again.”
“Merlin. I am so sorry that happened to you! I can’t even imagine it!”, Anne said.
“Trust me, you don’t want to imagine it.”, Adrina spoke in a deadpan voice. “I used to live in the muggle world too, and that shit was disturbing. They treat women like garbage, even more than they do in the wizarding societies. My own mother wanted to sell me to some old rich hag as her handmaiden, like I was some stupid nobody! I went along with it too, until her creepy son tried to put his hands on me… let’s just say, I made good use of my magic that day. After what I did to him, he’d be lucky even if he has hands”. Anne was shocked but she appreciated the young woman’s regretless attitude. She thought it was only right for these women to defend themselves. Anne would have done the same if put in those circumstances.
“And then you found us, which was destiny, I believe”, Voscha said.
“So, what is this place?” Anne asked, “A school for hurt girls?”
Voscha laughed, “I suppose it does serve that purpose often, yes. Our coven has migrated all of over the Western Lands, from Astaria to the Richlands to here. Many other girls have come to us in the same position as Stella Belle and Adrina, each lost and full of magical ability, but unsure how to hone it. We became a home for one another, a family of divine feminine power”.

the fight scene between mahito and itadori is truly one of the best moments in the entirety of the manga. the action itself is spectacular but nothing compares to what it all means. I honestly think reading this part gave Itadori his own 'awakening' of sorts so that’s exactly why I’m making this post about it. Full analysis below!
Itadori begins this battle in a very bad place. He lost his battle with choso (despite choso’s realization). He’s just come back into his own body after Sukuna took control and destroyed the majority of their surroundings. Besides this he also killed a massive amount of civilians in the process. And worst of all he arrived back in time to see Nanami killed as well as Nobara. Itadori is essentially broken , mind , body and soul in the beginning of the fight and it certainly doesn’t get easier.
I will add though that we have seen how much itadori has grown since the exchange event. He’s already exceptionally strong and fast and has high durability. (In this fight specifically it’s my opinion that because of the 15 fingers he manages to hold himself well in this fight). He shows pure adaptability when fighting a curse stronger than him. Like with the grasshopper we saw how he quickly adapts, overpowering/outsmarting it. and then thanks to mechamaru he took the fight into the bathroom to limit choso’s abilities under the water.
Now over to mahito… he begins the fight on a high note. He’s thriving because he just killed Nanami and was even happier that itadori showed up to see it. Ever since their first battle it had been his goal to break Itadori and this was the perfect way to do it. Mahito defines the term adaptability and it shows how he and itadori are truly opposites. They are true rivals.
Mahito easily beats Itadori down , going on about his childish heroism. Here’s the full speech:
Tumblr media
❛ I bet you thought you were gonna do some pest control! Or ghost exterminations like in some make-believe story! You came to Shibuya with half-assed determination didn‘t ya?! How naïve, you stupid brat! This is war! Not a battle to fix what‘s wrong! But a clash of truths! You and your fragile justice! You are me, Yuji Itadori! I kill without a second thought, just like you save people without a second thought! The instincts of a curse against the so-called dignity obtained by human reason! It‘s a battle to determine who will be left standing in a 100 years! How the hell did you think you were gonna beat me when you don‘t even realize that? Tell me, Yuji Itadori have you ever stopped to count how many curses you‘ve killed? No, right? Me neither, me neither. ❜
mahito is truly a good villain. and here in this speech he does have a point to what he’s saying. He’s calling out Itadori’s naïve mindset. Just as Itadori’s nature is to exorcise curses to save humans , mahito plays with human lives. That’s his instinct, he is a curse and it’s just his nature to do so. To deny this is to deny what mahito is as a curse. But soon it’s Todo that comes in and manages to pull Itadori out of the abyss he’s in right now. He was ready to give up, to accept death. The fact that he’s mentally coherent in that moment shows just what kind of person Itadori is.
It’s pointed out that it had to be Itadori who burdens these deaths, Nobara and Nanami. It’s him who shall carry their souls and legacies with him. He is a jujutsu sorcerer ; told to not look for meaning in death because it’d simply be disrespectful to let the memory of those who died go out with Yuji. He apologizes to Nanami and swears to take on all his suffering and add it to his own.
Later on Mahito takes on his true form and realizes his full potential and challenges Itadori with his newfound power. This new body is tougher and he gets beat down quite a bit before he realizes what he must do — use black flash. Now, as stated, there’s not a single sorcerer who can use black flash on command.
Though when they go for their finally hit Mahito fully expects black flash but instead receives divergent fist. This throws everything off balance and Itadori manages to get in a black flash before Mahito returns to his original form. It’s here that Itadori gives his speech:
Tumblr media
❛ You’re right…mahito…I’m you. I wanted to reject you — convince myself that you were wrong. But that doesn't matter now; I'm gonna kill you. Even if you come back as another curse, I'll kill you. Change your name. Change your form. I'll kill you again. I don’t need to find meaning or a reason. Maybe a hundred years after my death, the meaning behind my actions will become apparent. In the grand scheme of things…I’m probably nothing more than a cog. But I’ll keep killing curses…for as long as I can. That’s my role in all this. ❜
He has finally come to terms with this new world he’s been thrust into. He doesn’t need a reason to save people or kill curses. He is Mahito’s other side and he can no longer deny that. And with acceptance follows overcoming. It is his role to kill him. He points out that, maybe in the future a reason will come along but for now Itadori no longer needs that answer.
Tumblr media
In the end mahito becomes the prey of the very monster he created.

let’s say vegas and moonjo are acquaintances in someway.
maybe vegas studied in korea for a while and noticed some people in his uni going missing, maybe moonjo was involved with the korean mafia and vegas had to secure a partnership, maybe moonjo and jongwoo relocated to thailand to start a new life.
either way, they meet, they hit off, they exchange dental torture tips. vegas looks at moonjo being an absolute simp for jongwoo and thinks ‘rip to him but i’m different.’
then pete happens.
I go a little insane every time I think about what you sent here, honestly. It opens room to so many questions... Where, when and how Vegas and Moonjo could have met; their impressions of each other and the influence their partners have over them; Pete and Jongwoo’s own impressions of Vegas’s and Moonjo’s relationship… I mean, can you imagine the four of them in the same room, having a friendly chat? It has the potential to be really entertaining, and also to go so, so wrong.
But let’s stay focused (I'm trying! I'm really trying!).
First of all, I think the idea of Vegas getting exposed to the Very Normal Relationship™ of Moonjo and Jongwoo and his inner response to it being “that could never be me” is SO funny. Especially if it's not because they're weird, but because they're cringe. Count me in on the maiming and the torture, the manipulation and the emotional instability, but finding religion in a lover? Yikes. That’s the real crazy.
Bonus points in that scenario if Vegas and Moonjo were acquaintances before Moonjo found Jongwoo. It would totally go against Vegas’s expectations. Which is to say, no fucking expectations, have you met that guy? Moonjo cares about no one. At least Vegas has Macau, and his father (that doesn’t care about him in return, but one day he will, of course). Moonjo is completely alone. By choice. He can’t stand anyone. Not even the woman who raised him. Even the people he entertains himself playing mind games with, are eventually disposed of and forgotten. Vegas might find himself in a position where the two of them are able to (almost) see eye to eye, and socialize, but he would know better than to let his guard down around him. That’s not a man you can trust your life with. Or your head. Definitely not your head.
Which probably makes Vegas wonder, as of meeting Jongwoo, just who would be stupid enough to trust their heart with him?
And here comes the shocker, for Vegas, and maybe for everyone who has ever crossed paths with those two: that’s not what happened. Jongwoo isn’t some naive darling that fell madly in love with Moonjo without knowing what he was in for; he’s not a pet Moonjo is keeping around until he finds a more amusing one (that would be Kihyuk). Jongwoo actually did something extraordinary, when he didn’t even have the intention to: he made Moonjo vulnerable. He’s the one that got Moonjo’s heart in his hands. And for Vegas, who met Moonjo pre-Jongwoo, that is… bizarre. Surreal. Unbelievable. It makes no sense, because Moonjo is supposed to be like Vegas, and people like them never show weakness in front of anyone, because they know, they learned, that when you do that, you get hurt. You lose. You die.
But Jongwoo changed something in him. Moonjo could die by his hands, and he’d still feel like he won. There’s no bad nor wrong between them, therefore, he’d take anything Jongwoo gave him. There is no one else besides him, and no one after. Jongwoo changed him.
And yet, he didn’t change. For the rest of the world, Moonjo is still the same. He still lies, he still kills, and he still regards everyone with the same indifference he always did—only he has Jongwoo by his side now, and to him it makes all the difference.
Vegas wouldn’t know what that feels like. He doesn’t even want to. Rip to Moonjo, but he’s different. He’d never let someone have so much power over him. Maybe Moonjo can afford that, because, after all, he has nothing but himself and his art, but Vegas is a businessman, who has a legacy to carry on. One day, hes going to rule an empire, and it’s going to be all his. He doesn’t need, doesn’t want to be helped or understood by anybody that’s not family. He’s different from Moonjo, and he’s different from Kinn. They are fools. They’re going to be betrayed, or killed, or left. They are going to suffer, they are going to lose, and it’s going to be their own fault. Vegas is better than that. He does the betrayal, the killing, and the leaving, before it’s done to him.
And for some time, that's all he believes in.
… Then Pete happens. Vegas happens to Pete, Pete happens to Vegas, and Vegas finally gets it.
When he loses, but Pete stays by his side, that makes all the difference.

My all three franchises crossover! So here’s my synopsis or plot you can say
Sidney is the one to find Ryuk’s Death Note one day, possibly after Scream 2 and before Scream 3. I picked this time because Sidney has become sort of a recluse and wants to stay hidden from potential psychos. Plus I feel she would be more tempted to us it during a difficult time for her and when she hears of the recent GhostFace attacks. Sidney would start killing criminals, hoping this would scare off a future Ghostface. Her very first victim would be Stu (he’s still alive but imprisoned). However, this would come back to backfire on her and make her a suspect. Sidney would want to kill the Ghostface (Roman) once he made contact with her, but keep her secret. She would eventually team up with Adam because he made the Shinigami eye deal.
Before Amanda could kill Adam, Gelus would write her name down (sorry Amanda fans, but I had to sacrifice her 😢) killing her. Adam by sheer adrenaline, would break his foot and limp out of the warehouse and survive. Rem would then give him Gelus’ notebook and would learn that the only reason he was still alive was because a Shinigami saved him. And when criminals start dying, Rem would let him Adam know that someone else also has a death note. This would motivate Adam to want revenge against Jigsaw and his apprentices. He would like to team up with the other death note user and together they would hunt down Jigsaw. And for an advantage, he would make the Shinigami eye deal.
The part of the Taskforce would consist of Gale, Dewey, Mark Kincaid and Mark Hoffman. Since Sidney is considered a possible suspect of being Kira (she’ll be given a different name) it will cause a rift between Gale and Dewey. Dewey will continue believing in Sidney’s innocence, while Gale doesn’t want to think Sidney is a killer but majority of the people being killed were murderers and the first person to be killed was Stu. Hoffman is basically a double agent for John. He was sent by John to track down Adam because of Amanda’s mysterious death and their interest in Kira.
Roman would be a lot more careful, but still be overconfident. Kira only needs a name and face to kill, and since he’s wearing a mask he should be safe. He still plans to put the blame on Sidney, but since Jigsaw is now involved he would eventually be put in a trap. If Roman survives, he could become a replacement for Amanda. With his information on Sidney would be valuable. John Kramer would be disgusted with Kira and believes they had something to do with Amanda’s murder. Lawrence would probably be used to gain Adam’s trust, but would have to hide his identity as a apprentice from him and Hoffman. It would be difficult for Lawrence, because he feels guilty leaving Adam for dead but he is now loyal to John.
Honestly it would be interesting to write John’s perspective on the whole thing. He never gave much thought to Adam, but if he were to learn that divine intervention saved him, I personally would think it would piss John off. Adam is granted a supernatural power to take lives and is probably going to attempt to destroy his legacy. He would be questioning why someone so unworthy be granted such a power.
Ryuk would find all this entertaining. Sidney dodging detectives but also having deal with two different murderers at the same time. Rem would be protective of Adam and constantly be on guard. She would be a lot more helpful then Ryuk and would give hints about Hoffman and Lawrence being a spies.
