It's been a few years since I posted, but I've been wanting to focus on my fitness (not really a New Year's thing, more a 'take advantage of life being quietish') and I need to up my usage of my fancy gym membership. Otherwise, it really, really isn't financially worth it.
Equinox is... intimidating in the open area. I never thought I would feel that way at a gym. Never gave a second thought at Planet Fitness, and then spent two years at a studio class-only gym. But being in the open space, everyone is using stuff, resting between sets, aware of how the machines work and it just... feels so bad to be seen doing things. Like it's not so much shame of my body or low weight, it's just incompetence.
But I am trying to up my class attendance. I have a bad habit of just wanting to go to the teacher I know (and ADORE, she really is the gold standard so part of it is... everyone falls short by comparison). But I need to up my attendance, and they keep jacking up the schedule, so I need to find more teachers I like and be more flexible.
This week, since getting back, I've gone 4x so far.
Friday: Cardio Sculpt (new-to-me teacher!). Eh, liked the weights at the end, but my boxy thing kept sliding and I didn't care for some exercises; I got bored.
Saturday & Sunday: Barre Burn (with my favorite teacher)--great, though I do wish they were longer than 45 minutes. But I'm still getting reacquainted with my abs lol. Wrist did hurt after this; the mats are so thin and doing high planks instead of forearm for so long sucks.
Monday: Yoga (with one of my favorite teachers): great, not super high intensity, my half moon wasn't bad. This conflicts every other week with my writing club, but since I'm stalled writing and the T is a disaster, I went and was very happy for it.
I'm going to rest for two days and then go to yoga Thursday. Hopefully also a class Friday and Saturday; my weekend is going to be screwed up but I should be able to hit Favorite Teacher's class Saturday (SO happy she has a Saturday class now... i hope it lasts).
2 days of home cooked meals. Need to cook tomorrow.

Root veggies- radishes, parsnips, carrots, turnips.

I am on my second bag and I am going to find a way to make it work. Without adding bacon, that is the challenge.
Here is why: My local grocery store has been very low on most veggies except for kale and collards. So, challenge MF accepted.

Finally feeling 100%
Kickboxing is my thing if that isn't painfully obvious. I have been doing it for a long time and I love it almost as much as I love punching things.
I went to a class today. 
There were some new girls there today who were having trouble wrapping their hands. (For the gloves). 
Mustering some courage I didn't know I had I offered my help. 
My hands were shaking a little bit but I was managing to help, and it was only until I moved on to her left hand that I noticed the nasty look on both her and her friends faces. 
They were judging me, oh god they were judging me. It was my weight I know it was. It was obvious. 
It was then that I began to spiral. 
I finished her hands and they said nothing. 
Figures. 
I wanted to leave. They were both prettier and skinnier than me and I was becoming increasingly concerned they would be better than me in the class. 
(Is my crippling self esteem issues not becoming painfully obvious here?)
But I stayed, and I punched that bag harder than I ever have. 
I’m finally feeling 100%

So despite the rocky start I actually had a really great run, the sun was shining but not too hot, the trees are starting to look a little green & there was a nice breeze! My form was good all though I did accidentally run into a school sports day happing on mount royal! Which totally threw me and I ended up running further to get around it. 😂
Also, had a great weigh session, I actually enjoyed it! I made the weights heavier again and it felt good!
I'm currently just using the weight machine in my apartment building but I intend to buy some weights for my house & a skipping rope for some more workout variety!
Finally, I just want to mention how much I love my inflatable punching bag. It may not be very high end but for $7 it's great, I've started making my workouts longer just because I get so into my boxing session. 😄

Hello everyone!! 
I know that I have been MIA for about two weeks now, but I am finally moved into my new apartment, finally got wifi in said apartment, AND finally got my laptop charger from my friend’s house! It took my boyfriend and I 5 days to drive from Pennsylvania to Los Angeles, then we stayed our first night here with a friend of mine who also moved to the area, then moved into our apartment this past Monday. We have spent most of our time since then getting and putting together our furniture. We still have a few things left to get, but we finally have a real bed so that we aren’t sleeping on an air mattress on the floor. I didn’t get to work out while we were traveling so I was really worried that my first run back earlier this week (a 5 mile long run) was going to be really hard and kinda painful but it wasn’t, it was awesome! I felt so good and I got to see a lot of my new neighborhood. Since then, I have been out running two more times and I have a 6 miler planned for tonight! I am really excited for this new part of my life to actually get started now that I am here and I am really hoping that I will be able to stick to my healthier habits once my schedule gets crazy. Eating healthier is definitely going to be hard at first just because we are on such a tight budget for the time being while we are paying off the furniture we had to buy for the new place, but I am trying my best and that’s what matters.

sorry for the few posts, my days are not as consistant anymore.
anyhow, i had some eggs for breakfeast, soup for dinner and leftover fried vegetables for dinner. some pistachios for snacking and a protein shake (finally a new flavor, and its chocolate! I wanted to chug the whole thing its so good)
i’m still sore from the beach body workouts, if i sit down, im staying there forever. however, exotic pole is coming up, looking forward to it! i need to get used to the 8 inch boots after the smaller ones.

Weight update
Last week: 258 (monday)
This week: 254.6 as of friday
Holy fuck yall its happening with me only paying attention to my food and logging that food simply because it been too hot to work out outside and im not in a spot to get a gym membership rn so i will continue to suffer but thats so great almost four pounds in one week!!! Im hype!
I gotta focus tho and keep going keep up with my food log keep eating mostly healthy options and keep working out on rare cooler days
