Provided it's not during an important briefing or otherwise Heart-related meeting, since nodding off during those tends to make your captain quite upset and you've crossed them on the singular instance of doing exactly that before, the crew knows to leave you well enough alone

You pride yourself on never falling asleep on duty, at least

On occasion, someone will wake you for additional work at Law's behest if you've already finished or call you down for supper or Penguin and Shachi have the mischievous inkling to do something prank-related; either they're dragged away by someone more responsible or get chewed out by Law for putting you in ridiculous poses to take pics of while you were asleep, upset about something along the lines of potential injuries

The more you get to know your crew and the stronger your bonds become over the years, the more you start to lean on other Heart pirates for your impromptu naps instead of just cozy inanimate objects; none of them have ever beaten the sheer comfitude of the weighted blanket in your quarters, though

Bepo is the easiest suspect being as big and soft as he is, and the friendliest too, Ikkaku is more than happy to lend a shoulder as the resident "big sister" (although she's younger than half the other members), and hell even Pen and Shach were comfy enough pillows once you got them to swear not to pull any funny business while you slept - lest you made balloon animals out of them

The others all warm up to you on their own time, depending on whether you've been there from more or less the start or you're a relatively new member to the crew

Ani is reluctant for physical contact, it takes you getting to know them a little more before she's willing to shake you awake or spend a while sitting next to you taking a nap in comfortable silence, gay uncles Bas and Laeno with the addition of Fang have dubbed themselves the unofficial official "carries you to bed" squad

The other gay uncles (Marl and Gul) are content to leave you where you are whenever you drift off but always bring a blanket when it looks like you're getting cold or you don't seem like waking up any time soon - Dorie and Hoki try taking you to bed but Dorie's always too loud and ends up waking you before then and Hoki, well, Hoki can't quite seem to pick you up as a taller, heavier man

By god he's trying his best, though that also has the unfortunate consequence of waking you up; you once overhead Hoki training with Fang with the express purpose of getting strong enough to carry you to bed like "everyone else" and you genuinely didn't know whether to be flattered or mortified

Uni's content enough to let you lay your head on their shoulder (arm, because frankly he's huge) for a short while, though eventually he gets antsy and needs to move but since you're there he can't, but also Uni needs to move while not waking you up, like a cat asleep on its owner's lap trapping them for all eternity; other crew members have found him in this predicament every so often and find it hilarious/a perfect photo-op while he can't avoid the camera's embarrassing lens

Some of these pictures have both of you napping together (he accepted his fate and fell asleep sitting up, their back makes them regret it later)

You're awkward around Jean Bart at first, as you were with everyone else in the beginning, though you did puff out your chest a little at the thought of being someone's senior much like Bepo, and slowly as you took the initiative to spend more time around him, you'd find yourself falling asleep with his knee as you pillow every now and again, sometimes even with his very large hand over your back as a blanket; Jean Bart too would fall victim to the pictures taken while he was at the mercy of your slumbering form, unable to flee

Clione and Hake, as much as you adore them as friends, have the unintended affect of activating your sleepiness once they go on another one of their longwinded rambles about a topic of special interest; you've apologized time again that it's not because they're boring you, not at all! Their voices are just so easy to listen to, hearing them talk at length about things important to them, it's a comfortable backdrop to doze off to

Hake laughs this off with light teasing, flattered that their voice is as soothing as you claim it to be, Clione has to be coaxed with a bit more than that, but usually gives in after you agree to buying him a treat of his choosing at the next island they drop anchor at

The captain themself—you aren't quite sure how to act around them, you were sure that they'd been upset by the first and only time you fell asleep during that crew meeting, making it a point to never do that again in the hopes of avoiding Law's ire, and although it didn't seem like they'd been that upset with you again, being around them still set the hairs on the back of your neck on edge; like you were being watched

To your defense, you were, but not necessarily in the way in the way that you would've assumed

It took nearly a year of being in proximity with and hardship with each other for Law to finally ease up being around you and another year for them to fully let you in - you realize in that time that the staring is just something Law does with everyone, their crew, strangers on the street, marines they're supposed to be on watch for, it was just something your captain tended to do

Plus, observation wasn't the only reason for their keen eye on you, at some point, Law had developed these—day they say, absurd—feelings, for you, and were at a loss for what to do; so, without consulting anyone else like the massive dweeb they were, decided that intense soul-burning eye contact was the way to go instead of just talking to you and getting a boyfriend that way

Some days it was an attempt to get you to make a move before they did, other days it was trying to blow you up with their mind for daring to make them feel this way, and on the days you felt like you were ignored by your captain even more than before? Those were the one where Law doubted their feelings the most, wishing to hide them away and feeling if you looked too closely, you'd catch onto their "true" intentions and they would simply dissolve under your gaze

A bit unfair, but when has Law ever been anything but?

Now, comfortable with the relationship you've built with one another, Law calls you into their office often to sleep on the couch there, or take a nap on their bed while they worked tirelessly still at the desk in their room; whenever they needed a break or you'd call them over, they could simply recharge in the comfort of your arms and you'd get a warm body to slumber against

It does seem, however, that once the both of you got together Law started being a bit more scrutinous about your random cuddles with other crew members whenever you fell asleep per usual, almost pouting when you gave your attention, albeit unconscious but still physical, away to other people

You tease them about it once other Hearts inform you about this very interesting behavior and turn scowls into kisses with light laughter

The only person seemingly exempt from this "cuddle = angy Law" rule is Bepo, but that's only because he's the baby and Law is unwilling to give up their cuddles on their precious bear either, so the both of you will sometimes just nap on him together, sometimes to Bepo's chagrin when he needs to move just like Uni

Bepo obviously clears, but at least now it looks like there's finally someone to challenge your weighted blanket <3

Thinking about a Truman Show AU where Eddie Kaspbrak is the nice, mild mannered young man who's entire life - his mother, his father's death, his marriage - have been scripted TV and actors and Eddie is the only one who thinks it's real.

Richie is a new actor hired to help boost ratings because nothing big and dramatic has happened since Eddie's wedding episode (where Eddie almost didn't get married and had to be talked into it by his mother and his 'friends'.)

Richie is supposed to be the antagonist to Eddie's protagonist. Eddie is loveable and sweet, so Richie will be offensive and obnoxious. Richie is introduced as a new colleague at Eddie's work, direct competition to see who gets the promotion and bonus on offer.

In real life the studio filming and presenting Eddie's life has a phone in poll where viewers can vote on which man will win. The people can directly decide Eddie's fate! How exciting! Viewers adore it.

Richie is naturally a obnoxious and a bit of a jerk so he has no trouble hamming it up for the role. He can use this spot on The Eddie Show to break into the big time. Once his run finishes (Richie doubts the audience is gonna vote for him) he'll have his pick of jobs.

Richie is naturally everything that Eddie should hate. He's loud, a show-off, kind of gross, he tells racy jokes and can't keep it in his pants. Eddie is a bit of a priggish, prudish hypochondriac at the best of times so Richie is supposed to be torture.

People will tune in to hate watch Richie or Eddie will hopefully meltdown and start screaming in the middle of the office. Either is viewed as a success.

Only Eddie likes Richie. He really likes Richie.

Richie tells awful jokes and Eddie laughs at them.

He tells Richie he's gross, but he then nudges Richie with his elbow and smiles at him to get Richie to do whatever gross thing he did again.

He chooses to take his lunch with Richie, wants to work on projects with him, invites Richie to dinner at his house.

Myra (on producer instructions) throws at fit at that terrible man being in their house and demands Eddie throws him out.

Eddie does, but regretfully and everyone watching is treated to Eddie sneaking out of bed later that night to call Richie from the house phone and apologise.

Eddie invites Richie to hang out with him after work. They go drinking. They go to the beach. They drive around aimlessly just talking and it's fascinating to watch.

Eddie has never been this happy, this animated, this impassioned.

Eddie's whole life has been carefully planned. The world he lives in is unreal. It's a mixture of the modern age and the 1950s. There is no homelessness, no internet or tv, hardly any people of colour and no one is gay.

Only it's becoming really glaringly obvious to Richie and to a lot of people watching that Eddie is gay.

It isn't the first time people have thought that - Eddie's wedding day meltdown was memorable, and he never dated until the show forced Myra on him.

There was a whole bullying arch where Eddie was picked on for being soft and girly when he was a younger boy with the express purpose of making sure Eddie learned those thoughts and feelings were unacceptable.

His mother sided with his bullies.

Richie is given strict instructions to make Eddie hate him. Eddie can't be gay. The producers already decided that. He has to be straight to appeal to as many people as possible. Richie needs to nip this thing in the bud.

Richie can't.

Because he's fallen for Eddie and fallen hard.

And he's realized just how evil all of this is. Eddie isn't happy. He's so miserable and he keeps telling Richie how miserable he is. Nothing makes sense for him.

if mike and el were truly in love, we would know. there would be no debate going on here. no one is questioning joyce and hopper's love, or lucas and max's love, or jonathan and nancy's love, or wills love for mike. if mike and el were really in love the ga wouldn't be complaining about how bland they are or how they have no chemistry or how no one cares about their relationship anymore. literally no one likes them together and the writers have made it that way on purpose. so when they break up in s5, it's satisfying and not upsetting.

writers, specifically the stranger things writers, make you dislike a relationship before they break them up.

ex. : they made you dislike stancy by showing their disconnect over barb, their whole sex situation, "nancy the slut wheeler", nancy not being able to say i love you. and by doing the opposite with nancy and jonathan so you'd be rooting for them instead.

yet another post on simon and labels

For the record, I feel the need to clarify that when I talk about Simon and labels, it’s not because I want him to label himself. He could be a fifty-year-old that’s like “what am I? hell if I know” and that would be fine and gucci (it’s how I personally approach my identity; it’s okay to not have all the answers! it’s okay to have no answers at all!). I think it’s important that both the authorial intent and the main takeaway for the readers is to see how hard it can be to figure yourself out, to still fall in love despite not having the answers. If I never interacted with or even seen this fandom at all, I would’ve walked away with “canonically unlabeled main character” and left it there. 

At the same time, and perhaps in the interest of analysis (to a certain extent, perhaps with the same kind of curiosity one wonders whether Simon will ever know his mom visited) I’ve seen people wonder. Leaving something open usually invites speculation... Because this is a fictional (emphasis on fictional; I’ve been unfortunately cursed with the knowledge that people get on twitter dot com to do this to real people, which is beyond fucked up) character, I don’t think it’s wrong to wonder for character analysis purposes, (or for fanfic purposes, if one wants to understand something because they have a specific story to tell). Or perhaps in attempts to figure oneself through fiction.

When I log on to say “he makes so much more sense as in the ace spectrum” I’m not just analyzing, I’m also working through assumptions about intimacy and the ways in which the books challenge how attraction is perceived and I find that meaningful. There’s a reason why so many people who identify somewhere in the acespec feel drawn to these books. When I say “the kid is likely gay but struggles with not wanting to be perceived as gay/fears experiencing homophobia” I don’t mean to undermine him not wanting to be labeled (which, by the way, is also fitting for someone who has been defined by labels for so long: to just simply go unlabeled as he finds out who he is and what he wants, unburdened by expectations at last) I’m partly responding to the seemingly popular idea (which remains as an impulse, despite him being canonically unlabeled) to paint him as bisexual (which, at worst, results in people writing off the series as bi-erasure, or judging it for things it never attempted to do, so forgive me if I come here to yell about people being loud and wrong in my little blog). I also discuss him likely being gay because I do think the ways in which the books capture how heteronormativity and comphet can fuck us up (for the record, I know bi folks can also experience both!) it’s worth discussing. Our fear of not belonging, or not wanting to be gay because we’re afraid of not being accepted or being in danger because of it (Simon literally has the instincts to look over his shoulder to see if they’re being watched when he first kisses Baz!) being captured in a story where ultimately, the gays are alright and happy and together... for me? it’s worth discussing. (I’m also a serial over-thinker. Shit along the lines of “but tumblr user sailorblossoms, how can you say he is or isn’t interested in [whatever] when Simon thinks [insert quote]?” has sparked many posts haha)

I probably wouldn’t have been on here saying “Simon is likely gay” and “I’m confident this guy isn’t a woman-liker” without My Rosebud Boy, and AU written by the author, attempting to capture the essence of her characters in a different scenario, that has Simon in his early thirties saying “I’m gay. I used to have a problem with being perceived as/being gay, but not anymore.” Because this for me validated the perception I had with certain things that I was seeing in the books. If you asked me to speculate (because I ain’t a mind-reader) based on interviews and things I have seen the author say on social media, I would say that when CO came out, the author did genuinely not what Simon was, because the intent has been that it’s okay not to know from day one. Sexuality can be complicated, and the main intention was to not define him. But by the time MRB comes out, well... Simon says it. But also: this isn’t at odds with the intent in the trilogy. Simon is barely not a teenager there. He’s a thirty something adult in MRB. Different circumstances, different life stages, etc etc (I have lots of thoughts on that AU but I don’t want to lose the thread). The other thing the author has said from day one (before the sequels were even a thought) which remained consistent, is that good ol’ Simon is a “Baz-sexual.” That, for me, is among the big takeaways: Simon has not experienced true attraction before Baz. I’m not here saying this guy is interested in guys in general either – as soon as Baz is in the picture, it’s game over (who notices a match when you’re in the middle of a forest fire?). There are many people (and fictional characters) who experience attraction to a lot of people, all the time, even when they’re in love with one person. But Simon ain't one of them. He doesn’t say he’s “a Baz-romantic.” He says “a Baz-sexual” with his whole chest.

obligatory 6am episode thoughts (and MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF TED LASSO SPOILERS)

so far it's ep2 > ep1 > ep3 imo. this episode was basically the start of various plotlines but didn't have any big moments for any of them, so it's a little 🤷

ngl, hated zava with a passion and all of his scenes were cringe and boring to me. we already went over the dick star player arc in season 1 with jamie, and zava purposely has less redeeming moments (because he doesn't have a three-season story ahead of him). this plot could only be interesting if it leads to a break in format or character development: ted yelling and giving up on a player / rebecca firing him despite the wins because she cares about the team / west ham drama.

I was SO FOND of colin and michael in this episode!!! they were sweet but not over the top and those moments were literally so far removed from the rest of colin's scenes in the ep, which just stresses how long colin has been hiding this. really liked michael coming to sam's restaurant and their collaborative cover story, because I'm pretty tired of gay relationship drama being one dude angry that the other one is "ashamed" of him. framing the media as their enemy and not each other is a good start.

speaking of which: trent. big sigh. could SO see that plot coming from all of the interviews mentioning trent as both a good and bad presence in richmond. idk if he'd actually out colin, because it'd be hard to come back from that in the eyes of the audience, but there's definitely drama coming and SOMEONE is going to either out colin or threaten him with it, leading to him coming out himself. could be rupert, and that'd be the start of nate realizing he's gone too far. either way that's one plotline I'm hella excited for.

that being said, if michael ends up outing then, I'm 🤡

I simply do not know what to make of tish's predictions. rebecca being upside down and drenched is foreshadowing the amsterdam episode, and whoever saves her (probably ted) would be the knight/shite. but being a mother? obviously not biologically, since hannah explicitly said it's no longer an option. so... tedbecca future???? I'm not even a shipper, I honestly can't see who else she could adopt. rupert's daughter somehow? idefk

jamie was my fave this episode, followed closely by roy. thank god for that bromance, and all of jamie's sudden vocabulary moments were laughing out loud funny. praying for a shot of him reading a dictionary and explaining his sudden word knowledge 😂 am Not Amused at the scene by the bar where keeley looks at them both, but we shall see. I'm actually kinda here for a jamie/shandy thing? their vibes sort of fit lmao. also YES to sam and his chef falling in love. let the man have some happiness and normalcy!

the ted/sassy ongoing hints confuse me, and their purpose escapes me even three seasons later. remind us ted can fuck? I don't feel like it's an endgame thing.

DOLEON

Starting with him, because he plays a HUGE part in Terios' lore and story

Essentially, he's the Black Doom of this au. (Fun fact : he was created because I had no idea how to draw actual Black Doom, nor had the energy to learn, so I made him a hedgehog/alien thing. Then I got to thinking and now he has his own separate lore jhsdbfbkjdb. It's a bit complicated.)

Personality wise, he's very egotistical, has a burning hatred for humans and humanity, and is always seeking power. He tends to see himself as much more intelligent and overall better than others (even though some *cough cough Starline cough* perceive him as dumb due to not knowing much about Earth or how things work on this planet.) While sometimes impulsive, he also really knows how to put up a good battle strategy wise. As of now, he (along with Shadow, Eclipse and Terios,) are the only remaining Black Arms left. (ALSO AS OF NOW : he met Starline, WHO IS TOTALLY ALIVE AFTER ISSUE 50, and they decided to form a partnership for each others own secret benefits, planning to stab one another in the back afterwards. They never do 😭 They're just really gay 😭)

TERIOS

(Cw for child abuse)

2000+ years after the Doleon shards incident, Terios is the accidental twin to Shadow, the initial project being rather mysteriously cloned. The only real explanation found had something to do with energy. This "clone" looked a bit off, with features that pointed to the idea that it seemed to hold more Black Arms DNA (ex. long pointed tail, all sharp teeth, green blooded, clawed fingers.)

But Doleon takes notice to that little mistake in the process. He can use that to his advantage. A pact is rather forcibly made, once the now two projects are finished, Doleon is entitled to one of them to use for his own purposes. He's part of the reason they even exist. He can make things happen if he doesn't get his way. (Geraldoom divorce arc /j)

He takes the black and white-striped one (who doesn't seem to want to be away from its twin it only JUST met, annoyingly.) It seems to be the exact opposite of it's twin, who is loud and confident. It (he can't keep calling this thing an it, for Supreme's sake...his name is Terios now) should be easier for what he has planned.

So while Shadow grew on the ARK, Terios grew on the Black Comet. And uh..............it was rough. He's essentially a victim of child abuse and a hell of a lot of manipulation. Brainwashed for years.

Doleon has Terios for his future plans now, but the downside on his end is that he now actually has to "care" for this small child until he’s old enough to begin his training.

But uh. Well...

Here's something from his lore tag regarding...a certain huge part of his lore

Terios (and Shadow) grew rather quickly (in terms of appearance.) Doleon took that as a sign of "he's old enough" and the brutal and quite frankly traumatizing training began. He would be the BEST, and this was the way to make sure of that. He could never mess up, never make a mistake, he had to be perfect. And he made sure Terios knew that too. Every mistake he made would get him clawed at. The more severe the mistake, more likely the deeper the gash. (Learn how to heal yourself with that energy...or don't, and suffer. Sometimes, if his mistake was so bad, he wouldn't even be allowed to heal with the energy.) It was always on one of his arms or on his face. More often would he get shouted at, grabbed and tossed to the ground like some kind of rag doll. The lesson he eventually had to learn?

Don't ever mess up. On anything. Expect pain and suffering otherwise.

There's also this one other little habit he was eased into...

He doesn't hate his father for these things though. He still cares deeply for him and doesn't ever wish to disappoint him, as he's been doing. Father's doing this for a good reason...! Terios would soon be passed the honor of the power the Shards of Chaos hold, he needed a lot of training and discipline to be able to handle that...!

And that's what he told himself. Every. Time.

This goes on for a few years, and he's gotten much better with his training (he pretty much had to, the injuries weren't healing fast enough.) He rarely speaks unless told to, he's terribly obedient, he's tired, he's hurting, but it doesn't matter. He's what he's supposed to be! He's finally near perfection! (Except for these weird sparks and bursts of shard energy he gets whenever he feels sad...or angry...maybe he could just drown that out?)

Then things get crazy bc Tikal is here now. LET ME EXPLAIN PLEASE-(I first made Terios' story when I was like, ten years old? XD He's a revived oc)

Short summary : In this AU, Tikal is more like a free-ranging spirit. Tikal knew Doleon and his brothers, way back then. She was a ghost and could somehow get through the strange barrier of this little area the brothers were confined to, so they became friends! Tikal, Kieran and Doleon specifically. She wasn't around for when the others were killed, but the last person she saw was Kieran once the barrier was no longer there. That wasn't the only thing that was broken.

Since she already knew Doleon and what he had done in the past, she knew he had no good intentions. While he was away from Terios, she appeared before the Darkhog, alerting and telling him of what the shards really were, and what they could do to a person. And Terios, of course, started to panic. Was he being corrupted right now? Was he ALREADY corrupted? He needed to escape. But how? There was no escape. 

Luckily for Terios, Tikal’s spirit was able to transport him back to where he was created, the ARK (not without Doleon putting up a fight of course.) Unluckily, however, at the time he was transported there, the whole ARK fiasco was going on, and Maria had already sent Shadow down to Earth and stuff. Now there were only G.U.N. soldiers, and they spotted him, calling him “Project Shard," for some reason (He had a separate file. There can't be TWO Project Shadow's) So he tries to run from them, but can’t, and they catch up to him. Soon enough, they lock him up in a facility, putting him into cryostasis. 

Skip about...54 (???) years (4 years after SA2) and Terios is about to be released for nothing good. And guess what.

There's a one shot for one of the parts I randomly felt like writing out one day :D

This leads up to months of subtle brainwashing (aGAIN) and being brought back to his old mentalities until Terios just HATES that one hedgehog he's never met (gee doesn't that sound a bit like another irrelevant plotline of mine-) He's fully loyal to the Black Arms and to his kind only! Finding the Shards...for Doleon...that's his destiny. That's why he exists!

And so when they finally arrive to conquer earth (and find the remaining shards,) Terios is sent out to do his job. Except he meets people. Whoops.

The first person he ever met was Rouge, out on the streets of Westopolis. She just kind of...appeared? Upside down? Flying? Apparently, she'd seen him around. The things he could do...and she'd like his assistance in a little something. She was getting in his way, he could NOT be sidetracked by some bat.

He got sidetracked by some bat. The power of Rouge everybody. (But its okay because he didn't realize it. No panic attack here.) He still found one of the Shards afterwards! She led him to it, almost...surely a coincidence. Unless she was looking for them too? For some reason? WHY WAS SHE BEING NICE TO HIM ANYWAY??? WHAT TRICKERY WAS THIS??

...Not bad, though. If his tail would stop MOVING LIKE THAT FOR AT LEAST FIVE SECONDS, THOUGH, IT WOULD BE NICER.

Going back to Doleon with the shard, he should've expected somewhat of a lecture for socializing with allies of the enemy. AND OF COURSE, he got that. He's lucky he came back with the shard...he won't be punished.

After that, Ter, being sent out to the same place as a current horde of Black Arms soldiers, runs into Tails after going astray. Lecture down the drain, somewhat. What’s his name? Why is his tail so long? Can he use it in battle? Does he have any powers? He could ask questions all day if it weren’t for Terios starting to look overwhelmed by them (which gets an apology)

All the sudden, that horde of Black Arms start raiding the area Tails and Terios are in, so Tails, knowing this as current danger, grabs Terios by the hand and tells him he knows a safe, inside place.

Terios says he has to go and this happens :

More shard hunting

Doleon is harder on Terios now that Shadow is out of the picture. He isn't STUPID, Terios, he KNOWS what you've been doing. You keep derailing. Making mistakes. You know exactly where that leads.

Terios is quite literally beaten some sense into and this is the result :

Terios soon realizes Doleon PROBABLY isn't actually trying to help him at all, and instead joines the heroes in an attempt to stop him. He's with them for a while, starts to get somewhat comfortable around them...enough so that his real self starts showing.

And it confuses most. So you mean to say, this weird looking alien hybrid thing that only first showed himself in an attempt to brutally murder Shadow, had an alliance with Doom and the Black Arms from the start, and showed nothing but pure loyalty to them, even to go so far as to declare his actions in their name for the better? He's actually just this...guy. That was really, really badly manipulated.

Look at the way he came in. Even if he wouldn't specify where all those injuries came from, he was obviously treated like garbage. Just something to be used and then thrown aside. But oddly enough, he felt safe around these people. They were supposed to be the enemy!! Just another lie. He could change!! He could be better. Not the kind of better Doleon expected him to be, the kind of better that really just felt like the right thing now.

But hoooooooooooo when Doleon finds out about this.

Terios goes back into the comet after a while of being gone, its noticeable and he's mentally beating himself up about being so stupid. It's part of the plan, though. He'll go in first, so that the others remain unnoticed. Doleon has known about everything. And, if this kid won't LISTEN, he'll just have to MAKE HIM. His mental barriers were always weak anyway...he was the one to really mold the Darkhog into that for convenience.

Um.................angst...............it naturally follows :

When the others see him walking back out again they're confused. What is he DOING?? This isn't part of what they planned at all!

Until Doleon makes himself known as well and says something like "I only took back what belongs to me! It was rightfully mine from the start..." or some other CLEARLY rage-inducing thing. It gets on Shadow's nerves specifically sooooooooo bad, the way Doleon is speaking of Terios. Doesn't matter what they do, though. Terios won't listen. He won't speak. Everything else is blocked out. He belongs here. It's where he's always belonged. He's safe now. This is all he needs. He's home again.

And if it's what the Master told him, wanted of him, he would do anything to prove his loyalty. Anything.

He's forced to fight them, and they're forced to find some kind of way to snap him out of it before he can hurt anyone. He seems to be specifically going after Shadow for the kill, though.

Once he DOES get snapped out of it, he feels IMMENSE guilt. He can see how he hurt some of them, even if it was only a little. And that hurts him

APPARENTLY DOLEON OVER HERE WAS JUST HAVING SOME FUN, BECAUSE ONLY AFTER THIS DOES HE BRING OUT THE SHARDS AND GAIN A NEW FORM ENTIRELY TO FINALLY ENACT HIS END GOAL. Luckily Shadow has the Chaos Emeralds >:D Terios, though? Still terrified, and even more so now. WHAT IS A SUPER FORM?!?!?! He might need some help...

So they have to defeat Doleon in their super forms but Terios is still very new to the concept of chaos energy and super forms and such (he's far more shard energy than chaos energy,) and there may or may not be a scene somewhat reminiscent of that one SA2 scene in my head except no one dies. HOORAY!

And after all that, Terios can finally learn to be himself with his new allies, which leads to his redemption arc!

This part of his story moreso revolves around Terios learning to break free from what had happened before, and learn to better himself with the help of others. He also needs to learn some decent self care (whether it be simple things like taking better care of his fur, or more complex things like learning to accept help with his current mental state.)

At first, he’s still a bit paranoid about everything that happened. He’s worried Doleon could somehow come back at any moment, that the Black Arms could return along with him, that he would be forcibly dragged back in again, even after his life had only just started getting better (oH the nightmare scenes.) Luckily for him, though, now he has people that can actually help with these fears, and he eventually does feel ready to try and move on. Then he feels comfortable enough to start meeting people, and interacts with more of the cast!

This is also the time where he meets Eclipse and the Dark Arms! Short summary : Terios wants to do a Steven Universe and help Eclipse the way all the others helped him. Terios just kinda randomly stumbled into him while he was out one day and got VERY much lost. Eclipse doesn't like him and his sappy “I can help you bc power of friendship!” attitude at first, but then he's able to sense Terios' connection to the hivemind. It feels a bit different than Shadow. So now he's pretty curious as to why and starts asking Terios questions. Eventually Eclipse kinda grows to like Terios, this hybrid is actually nice to him, for some reason. But then Shadow finds them. You can probably tell where that goes (It’s bad for a long while, but it eventually ends with Shadow, Eclipse and Terios all living together bc they're brothers, it’s my own little canon and I can do as I wish XD)

Aaaaand a little something about the way he behaves, even now :

Theres one more relevant story arc for him after this, and thats the "Doom arc" I rarely talk about. So shortened version : Shards of Chaos need a new host, they literally POSSESS Terios to do so (since he already has an established connection to them,) Doleon ends up being revived by the energy anyway, due to corruption, Tikal comes back, Espio becomes a sort of mentor for Terios post-possession so he can learn how to manage his newfound unstableness, aaaaand...yeah XD Like I said, this part is more in my head than written. The possessed form is still able to be accessed, very rarely, since Ter can't control it in the slightest.

And so now he's....the way he is! He is him :D He's shy, lacking in confidence, somewhat naïve due to wanting to see the good in everyone, and rather pacifistic, a surprising trait for that of Black Arms descent. He's very sweet, but can be angered on rare occasions. And when that rare occasion happens : start running.

I also gave him a speech disorder, specifically trauma-induced stuttering. He doesn't like it since it makes him sound nervous all the time, but otherwise, he doesn't mind, barely ever notices anymore. I did a lot of research just to be able to portray it accurately (I hope)

I know this was long, but I really just wanted to be able to explain everything clearly. I have other oc's that are FAR less complex, which is most of the others, so if you want, that'll probably have to be like a part two post 😅 Hope you found my oc rambling at least somewhat interesting! What are your thoughts on the w leotard and the w heroine dynamics? (analysis or headcanons, whatever fits)

W LEOTARD .... i've never seen someone call them that before it made me laugh out loud

i'll start with gf army then , umika and tsukasa !! i really enjoy their time together on screen . if we're talking analysis , i guess i can try to find some mirrors here and there . like how tsukasa keeps her interests a secret while umika is more open about it . though granted i have a hard time finding mirrors between them and sakuya and touma . i do think that's mostly because they're not as mentally ill as whatever w red or noel have going tho .

for umika alone , she's probably the one to come out of lupat the best . i mean , she's studying in france now and she seems to be pretty happy with shiho too . it sometimes hurts when i think about how she got stuck in this mess , and how in the end she just wanted everyone to be friends . thinking about it , she sacrificed a lot of her youth to become a phantom thief . and the fact that she was okay with just being a passerby like touma and kairi in the end ... somehow i have a feeling she doesn't really want that . i hope she can bring the group back together one day .

tsukasa is . definitely the most mentally stable out of everyone in the show . literally the best cop to come out of the show , but i don't think she was given much to work with other than being the gap moe competent one . i wish we could've seen more of her relationship with everyone cause right now most of her interactions are just , oh yeah she's the big sister figure to everyone . i think this could've been helped with diving back to her backstory during her academy days a bit more . i like the implied awkward friendship she has going on with touma though !!

about umika and tsukasa as a ship ... i can see the appeal and i don't see anything wrong with it , but it does give me the feeling of " the lesbian ship that exists to bully or take care of the gay ships " if you know what trope i'm thinking about . i much prefer umika with shiho , and tsukasa with none of the main cast because she needs to focus on herself !!!!

( also hesbian tsukasa and nonbinary or demigirl umika is so real don't come at me )

moving on . i like sakuya ! .... if i ignore half the things he did in the show . i think he's a little stupid and definitely immature . like you can see he's competent when he puts his mind to it , but god he does spend a lot of time onscreen just being stupid or creepy doesn't he . i think estrogen could fix him . other than that , i like the character that they gave to him if we ignore all the uncomfortable shit he did . he's clearly got low self confidence , and a bit of an inferiority complex . i feel like the pats really come best as a trio , they're like a little family to me , if only they learned to be more caring to one another . cause i can definitely imagine the sibling-like relationship they'd have with one another .

as for touma ... he's my number one punching bag i love him . i really like the autism they pumped into him and i just can't help but make him suffer a little bit for comedic purposes . though if i stop thinking about him as a comic relief for just a moment i think i'll start getting sad . i wish we dove a bit more into his backstory , i wish we got to see more of him with aya . i think they rely on one another a lot . and idk i love reading into throaway lines , but umika once called out " hey look everyone ! touma is eating !! " now i don't mean to read too much into this but maybe despite being a cook , touma struggles with his own relationship with food or something . we know he started cooking because of aya too ... there's just so much that could be explored then .

some people won't agree with me for this but sakuya / touma is a hilarious ship i love when touma suffers . it's like putting him up max tsundere levels but in the silently i'm going to either kill you or kill myself way . it's even funnier if you consider that aya and sakuya would definitely get along and she'd be like " CAN WE KEEP HIM " . anywayss , i like ayatou if that hasn't been obvious yet . and i think for sakuya ships , i think he needs to work on himself more ...

for headcanons , i'm an aroacespec touma believer , i believe his relationship with aya is so much more than romance , and i really wish we could've seen more of them . also sakuya is genderfluid and bisexual to me , that genderswap episode was really suspicious i think he'd want to get into it again .

So I rewatched When Harry Met Sally the other day and because I have steddie brainrot, it got me THINKING. Because my heart will always yearn for When Harry Met Sally AUs. 

I know that most canon-divergence fic has the gang, specifically Steve and Eddie, as being very close and trauma-bonded, which I love. 

However

I am also in LOVE with the idea of Steve and Eddie not really hitting it off after they save the world together. Even though Steve was equally worried about his well being and was ready to raise hell with the US government if they didn’t clear his name, something about him confused Steve to his core. And Eddie picked up on this and he had so much fun with it. 

Eddie is loud and brash and so unapologetically himself, which fills Steve with a misguided discomfort. Steve, though he’s matured a lot, still hasn’t let go of the constructs of his upbringing and just simply does not know how to handle someone like Eddie. Steve finds comfort in conformity because up until recently that’s all he knows. Even if he’s not fully comfortable with himself, he doesn’t want to touch his internal problems with a 10ft pole. But Eddie makes it impossible for him to ignore it. 

So its 1987 and he doesn’t love that he got roped into taking Eddie along on his cross-country road trip to California. Robin’s been gone for like a year and Steve has been planning on going to live with her after her freshman year, but now Eddie wants a ride bc he also wants to get out of Hawkins. Which is fair, but Steve is still annoyed. He has never hung out with the guy one on one (on purpose!!!) and yet here he is driving with the guy for 3 days. Steve spends the whole time guarded and irritated, but through little moments in the lapse of his better judgment, he also enjoys himself. But then Eddie clocks him and starts to see right through him and Steve is not ready for that. And they get into a big-ish squabble as they drive into San Francisco. Steve says some pretty mean things, Eddie doesn’t hold back either. Steve drops Eddie off at his stop, they both say they’ll keep in touch, but neither of them mean it. 

Five years later they run into each other in a gay bar. It’s 1992. The last place Eddie expected to see Steve, who is there with Robin, who he must be here with in solidarity. Right? Wrong. Robin, already drunk and extremely happy to see an old friend, reveals that Steve just got dumped by his boyfriend (Eddie is visibly self-destructing at this revelation) and she got dumped by her girlfriend and they’re both done with school and want to party in the city for once. Expect Robin gets whisked away by some hot butch and leaves Steve with Eddie and Steve is only having an okay time. So much of an okay time that they miss the last train to their apartment. Well, Steve misses the train because Robin definitely didn’t plan to make that train. Eddie offers him his couch for the night. Steve is too drunk and too distracted by big brown kind eyes to say no. Especially when he hear’s that Eddie’s partner is out of town, and he ignores the twinge in his gut at the mention of said partner. They go back to his place and keep drinking, getting friendlier and warmer, or maybe it’s just the alcohol? Or maybe it’s that the smell of Eddie hasn’t changed since that day 6 years ago when he threw his vest at Steve’s face and effectively changed his whole life. But when the conversation turns to those days in Hawkins, Eddie’s energy shifts to something cold. He hasn’t talked about those days at all since leaving, tells Steve he hasn’t thought about them and doesn’t plan to ever again. Steve is confused, because he still has nightmares, anyone from the party that’s tried dating outsiders can’t seem to hold onto a relationship because the night terrors can’t be explained to any partner. None of them feel like they can have a normal life, some of them don’t even feel like they deserve one. The co-dependence he still has with his best friend isn’t met with sympathy from an outsider’s perspective. The fact that he actively fears the day he has to live apart from Robin makes him sick to his stomach. He tells Eddie this much. But there’s nothing that can be said to change the air in the room back to the warmth. They go to sleep that night not saying much else to each other. When Steve leaves in the morning, in time for the first train and before Eddie can wake up, he leaves a note telling him thank you. 

Six years later, 1998, Steve and Robin are looking for a copy of Will’s latest book in a bookstore in the Castro. Robin is still with the girl she met at the bar that night all those years ago, and Steve has been dumped, yet again. This time by someone who he met shortly after that night at the bar. It felt so sudden to Steve, he’s heartbroken. It was almost 6 years together and suddenly it seemed like they just wanted different things in life. This is his first time out of the house in almost 2 weeks because it’s summer break and he’s a teacher so he has the freedom to rot in his heartbreak at home. Robin forced him to come out and just because the universe loves Steve so much, none other than Eddie Munson walks into the same bookstore for the same book, still dressed in his work coveralls. Steve contemplates hiding in the bathroom until he leaves, but Robin would never let him. He’s different though, his eyes are somehow kinder. His heart is also broken, come to find out. Robin realizes she’s running late for something, leaving the two of them alone. They grab an early dinner together, conversation flowing easier than it ever has in the times they’ve spent or ran into each other in the past. They talk about a lot at this dinner, their failed relationships, their individual relationships with the other members of the party. And it just feels easy to the both of them.

After a nights sleep I'm still disappointed, but at least I'm not bursting into tears anymore, so that is a good sign I guess?

The bad writing is still so upsetting, especially considering how easily they could have made Eddie's death more meaningful, the whole Stancy-situation less cringey or at least leave a sliver of hope for Byler, instead of putting the nails into the coffin by making Mike such an inconsiderate asshole towards Will.

Eddies death could have been less useless if they had given him a better motivation. Like, buying more time? He could have done so by being loud in the trailer, without heading out and into a clear suicide mission. Instead they could have shown one demobat following them through the gate to Hawkins, have Eddie realize that they would unleash the demobats onto Hawkins, if they don't lure them away from the trailer now. (If it was up to me, he would have survived, but if the Duffers wanted him dead, they could have made it at least a bit less stupid …) And then give Steve, Robin and Nancy a few moments of mourning (having the call back to the "we might not make it this time"), instead of brushing it off like none of them gave a fuck about Eddie …

Steve's whole confession to Nancy and the comeback of the love triangle … I didn't hate that he told Nancy how she had changed his life, but … What Steve said was about moving forward, instead of backwards, so that it would have made a lot more sense if this was about closure and moving on. If it was a thank you at a time, where he couldn't be sure they made it out alive. Instead of literally having him going backwards by still clinging to Nancy…

Fixing Mike and the whole Byler debacle is harder. I liked the reveal of the painting actually. Especially, how it basically mirrored Steddie and Ronance in Vol. 1—"I want to tell you how awesome you are, but to make it seem less gay, I make this conversation about your ex!" (And if they had made one-sided Steddie or Ronance explicit, maybe there wouldn't be people right now believing that Will was sad because he's in love with El …) There was so much potential to still turn this around—especially how it was so OBVIOUS that El never commissioned anything and Will made this up to talk about his own feelings for Mike and to cheer Mike up. Something that could have been brought up easily if Mike had asked El about the painting (and still could be brought up, though I don't trust the Duffers—they'll probably just forget about this…). What sours the scene for me is that Mike doesn't seem to care that Will starts crying—even though it would have been so easy to just have him ask "Hey, what's up?" and Will using something like "I'm just so worried about El" as a cover-up. There could have been a hug or some form of comfort, but naah, make Mike an asshole that doesn't give a fuck about Will SOBBING RIGHT NEXT TO HIM… And the damn monologue! I was waiting and hoping for Mike to glance at Will in a "Am I doing this right?"-way. Because at that point I would have been happy with the tiniest crumbs, that could be interpreted as "This is not only how he feels about El, that's also what he feels for Will" … I truly believe Mike loves El—just not in a romantic way—and he is not yet at the point, where he can acknowledge and accept the difference. (The monologue didn't really feel that romantic to me anyways? It was way too focused on El's powers? And, Eddie's and Dustin's platonic "I love you"s were a lot more heartfelt and emotional? I'm at the point where I believe Finn is so over Milkvan, he sabotages them by acting lackluster in their scenes together …) And instead of "My life began when I met you" something like "Meeting you gave my life a purpose", since it would make so much more sense with Mike's need to be needed by El and how helpless he feels when he isn't needed anymore. And it wouldn't feel as much as a slap in Will's face. EDIT: And in what sense was Mike the heart of ANYTHING in Vol. 2? He was a heartbreaking asshole, that's it …

(Robin's "romance" with Vickie was also something so badly executed, but there is no easy way to fix it—though making Vickie less of a carbon copy of Robin and actually giving her a meaningful contribution to the plot would have been a good start…)

if we do get a lover redo with taylor coming out (which im kinda starting to firmly believe bc im running down clownelia street) with extra tracks i think id actually cry id be so emotional like she'd finally get to sorta come out in the way she wanted to the first time around

I don't know if she's gunna redo the whole album but maybe she'll do like a "side b" EP with unreleased tracks from that era to supplement her coming out again. Like, maybe we get explicitly queer songs from that era that she had to remove from the album after the me! announcement in order to accommodate whatever the fuck happened that caused her to not come out then and there.

like, idk, i just want her to be like me! out now, for real this time so badly lmfao. "babydoll" is such a feminine nickname, I'm sorry, I'm sorry I just don't understand how y'all hear me! and think of anything other than taylor is bisexual. It's like why is she a rainbow with all of her colors, what context did she write that in that isn't gay?!

I just want her to come out the way she planned it, like the anti-hero music video having gay glitter come out of her that she covered up with a vote for me sticker? that's such a loud reference to the lover era, I think she did that on purpose and I will not be taking suggestions otherwise.

Like, I just want her to come out and be her happy little gay self and not have to hide the meanings of her songs and her music anymore. I just want to have her come out and give interviews about why it took her so long, I just want her to come out and then put the spotlight on society's desire to shame and other the queer community to the point where taylor fucking swift didn't feel comfortable enough being queer in public.

I just, idk, she's been through so much, I think she deserves to have the big, loud, and brightly colored coming out era that she planned for herself. It makes me so emotional, because I just came off the tim mcgraw ask and now i'm thinking about how tim mcgraw is the perfect introduction to her career because it shows us who taylor thought she had to be but me! is a song that is about her and who she actually is as a person- loud, queer, and annoying as fuck- and when I think about how she was like "this is my last chance to be successful" It breaks my heart because she really wanted to close off her career with me! as the lead single of her last successful album, because it would have been such a contrast from tim mcgraw and it would perfectly showcase how far she had come up until that point, and the fact that she probably thought coming out would have impacted her career too at the time... omg, my heart, it hurts.
