I've talked about there needing to be some changes in Terios' lore post to match the more current ideas before, yall want to hear about one of them? (Bit of a rant warning bc ofc, its oc universe)
So for a while I was thinking about how to make sense of Terios also being around during the events of Sth2005 in this au, since here both technically happen together. I even went back and watched the cutscenes for the game, especially since I found out there's a video that has the script perfectly translated from Japanese and gave me even more to work with. What I came up with to have this work is kind of simple (to me, at least,) but I think it works well
In the actual game, Doom wants Shadow to collect the Chaos Emeralds, right? In the au, Doleon uses Terios to help him find the Shards of Chaos. Doleon may not seem like it sometimes but he's smart as shit. He KNOWS about the Chaos Emeralds. Sure, they could never come CLOSE to the power he knows the Shards of Chaos possess, but its still A LOT, especially ADDED to what he already had planned! Two little hedgehog puppets, two sets of all-powerful gems at his disposal, if all goes as planned (which it WILL, he's 100% sure of that.) How perfect would that be?!
So, he basically just plays gaslighter on both of them, simultaneously (keeping with his manipulation of Shadow in the actual game.) After sending Terios out on a task, he'll check in on Shadow. And Shadow? He's PERFECT for this. He doesn't go astray…usually. Doleon has found him to be rather stubborn. But, at least its better than Terios, always getting sidetracked, failing, he raised him better than that! There IS that possible risk of them accidentally meeting too early…but Doleon is sure to be cautious of that. Keep their directed locations far apart, and the chances of that decrease significantly.
THEN SOON ENOUGH, after both have made a good amount of progress, Doleon sends them out to fight one another. First he goes with Terios, he's easier to manipulate and control. This is it, this is all he's been training for. Go and show no mercy! But haha, you know, just in case you need a reminder!! You know what happens if you fail me again.
Then he goes to Shadow. Oh, you're doing well with the Chaos Emeralds, yeah, but we have a problem lol. This hedgehog? Black and white? Long tail? He wants to stop us. And I need YOU to stop him first, got it? SO GO DO THAT. And he goes to do that.
And I've had this random scene in my head when they face one another where Shadow finally gets a good look at the "hedgehog" he's fighting and is like you look like me??? A lot??? The thing is that Terios has kind of never seen himself? Ever? Is this supposed to be a distraction? Because it won't work! He'll just fight back harder, what an insult!
A bit after that, the whole experience was FOR SURE strange to Shadow. And when Doleon goes to face him again? Well, Shadow's strong will and stubbornness really shines here. After that, and a lot of stuff before, he remembers THINGS. So bro is going to rebel against Doleon now. He'll get him back, soon enough. For now, he still has Terios, he can still get the most important set of gems he needs. He'll get the Chaos Emeralds at a later time, be it through Shadow, or on his own.
(Bonus bc after Terios decides to join the heroes, at one point, he's finally able to see his own reflection. He's not really concerned about the blood or the bruises or any of that...that was kind of normal with Doleon. But what catches his interest? His general look. The black fur, the stripes, the fur on his chest, the quills...he does look like Shadow. In a lot of ways. And it scares him.)

Random fact I feel should be shared about Doleon and Kieran :
They were the closest out of any of the brothers with one another. Doleon knew that whatever "crazy" thing he thought of, Kieran would be the one to support him. And Kieran isn't one to trust easily, not even with his own brothers, so he prefers to stay completely mute towards them. All except for Doleon, who although he still whispers around, he still has the confidence to speak to.
I don't know whether to compare their relationship to that of Sonic and Tails, or Surge and Kit, because to be honest, its kinda both, in a way, if you understand what I mean by that.
(I think I've only told one person why this fact and bond between them in particular ended up being pretty tragic and if you're seeing this...I have no regrets 😈)

Anyone remember when I said the shards granted the guardians abilities of their own? Well...
(Powers named at the bottom!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(I apologize if some of them aren't too visible, I didn't notice until after they were finished)
Akmad (Yellow) : Light
Erebus (Silver) : Foresight
Orpheus (Cyan) : Overwhelming strength (I...didn't know how to draw that lmao)
Ragnar (Reddish-Orange???) : Pyrokinesis
Lorcan (Blue) : Energy-Charged Speed (I can explain-)
Kieran (Purple) : An odd sort of power not even he understands. His energy flares up, and he's able to summon portals to shoot attacks out of at his disposal
Doleon (Green) : Electric Energy

Can I dump some lore on yall real quick. Actually a pretty long post if you're interested but its
About Doleon, the Supreme, the Shards of Chaos, etc. Basically the beginning of it all.
Oc Universe lore has been on my mind recently (I may have talked about some of these things before, and if I have, HERES A BETTER EXPLANATION.)
FIRST, THOUGH! LITTLE WARNING BECAUSE THINGS DO GET VIOLENT TOWARDS THE END. NOTHING VERY GRAPHIC DESCRIBED, JUST A MENTION, BUT JUST IN CASE...
Before anything, the personalities and powers of the brothers, just a recap :
Akmad : The over-the-top, plays by the rules and makes sure you will too brother. NO CHAOS (fun) ALLOWED. We have a PURPOSE here and its OUR JOB to make sure we do it right. Doleon, Lorcan, no, you cannot use your energies to race around and go fast. Each "shard connection" grants them an ability to better protect them. Akmad's is light (the power of flashlight-)
Erebus : Cold, serious and secluded. He pretends not to care when he really does. His power is foresight, but its really random, and typically, no one believes him (until it happens)
Orpheus : Really silly, kind of dumb, acts before thinking. He's very kind hearted and gentle, despite his ability of overwhelming strength. The one who doesn't know whats going on most of the time but thats okay.
Ragnar : ANGY, short tempered, impatient. His ability goes well with him, pyrokinesis. (I imagine he gets angry and just starts flaring at the tips of his quills.)
Lorcan : The goofster, "I ain't gonna listen to no one," living by his own rules (or, trying to. Thanks for that, Akmad.) He can just go really fast 👍
Doleon : Doleon. Electro energy thing.
Kieran : Selective mute (except with Doleon, for some reason,) little baby man, scaredy cat. He doesn't really know his ability yet but he's made some funky purple portals once.
So to start, it all began with the Supreme. The earliest known guardian to all seven Shards of Chaos. But they've (behold, an all powerful enby entity,) been guarding and keeping their power safe from the universe for SO LONG, centuries, perhaps longer? That its negative effects start to take toll. The shards begin to corrupt them, and it takes EVERYTHING THEY'VE GOT not to go in too deep and stay morally good. But the power is killing them, they know they're going to die soon. But the Shards can't just be left unprotected. They need a new guardian. New GUARDIANS. One for each, so the power doesn't become too much to handle.
One by one, Supreme "creates" each guardian (who needs childbirth? JUST LITERALLY CREATE ONE OUT OF PURE ENERGY. They're created using shard energy, and that gives each of them their connection to a specific shard.)
The order goes, from "eldest" to "youngest," Akmad, Erebus, Orpheus, Ragnar, Lorcan, Doleon, and Kieran. They technically don't have ages, nor can age physically. They're adults in the brain.
They were created as small children, raised by the Supreme until they could handle themselves (cough cough a few months cough) HAD THEIR OWN PARENT ERASED FROM THEIR MEMORIES TO PREVENT ATTACHMENT, and then sent into this weird little "world" that only they could enter. It was really to prevent any distractions from their main goal of protecting the Shards (which is a memory they're left with. Call it destiny. They know the Supreme EXISTS, they just don't remember ever being around them.)
They specifically aren't supposed to abuse the power of the Shards. It's always been DANGEROUS AND FORBIDDEN. Akmad especially enforces these rules (he SWEARS he remembers encountering the Supreme once before…he'll be the one to enforce their will.) Of course, though, A LOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time passes (remember the ageless thing?) and Doleon is kind of sick of it? Always just being told to DO THE THING BECAUSE ITS WHAT THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO. Like, what if he's a little curious? All Akmad or anyone will ever tell him is that its their PURPOSE or some crap. He needs MORE THAN THAT. Why CAN'T they use the Shards energy unless its to protect them? He's used it for fun a few times before and come out just fine! Maybe he would…experiment a bit.
So he does and the results are a disaster, obviously. He overloads on the energy, whoops.
Essentially, it takes the connection Doleon has with the energy of his shard, breaks a sort of "barrier" meant to keep him safe from its negative effects, and disguises itself as a good thing. Like look, you let me use you as a host for more power? You get more power. Simple as that. And that's what it is, he's able to use his energy without barriers. In other words, he overloads on it.
So despite how terrible he felt afterwards, when he WAS able to use it it actually felt pretty good? Like he was the most powerful person in EXISTENCE. THERE WAS LITERALLY NOTHING THE ENERGY DIDN'T ALLOW HIM TO DO. NO LIMITS! Kind of addicting, really. A little too much so. If ONE shard did all that…what kind of power would ALL SEVEN give him?
So Doleon knows he probably cant get the shards on his own. If the guardians aren't around, the little temple thingies they're secured in have slight defense mechanisms. Still not enough to keep them fully protected without their guardians, which he probably needs to lure away somehow, but still risky. He needs help. Maybe from someone who would do anything for him…? No matter how crazy it would sound to everyone else…?
That's right, I'm roping Kieran into this mess.
"I just wanna try something out! It won't hurt anyone, promise!" Oh Doleon if you knew. It seemed a little odd, but Kieran would try and be as helpful as possible!
Summary of the whole process bc its too long to describe in full : They find ways to get the shards however they can. Sometimes, it was pretty easy (especially with Orpheus…easiest one yet) but other times, it proved difficult. A few times, they even accidentally managed to activate the defense mechanisms (one of these being…particularly traumatizing for Doleon, where the temple might have sort have began to close up on him and if Kieran couldn't find a way to stop it in time, he would be killed through two walls literally colliding against his body and squashing him to death slowly and painfully. How silly. Wonder where he got that claustrophobia from.)
Little by little, the more shards they collect and hide from the other brothers, the more changes Kieran notices in Doleon. It scares him, but he'll keep going. Just…maybe keep a close eye on him. Eventually, they run into Erebus, not really paying much attention to where they're going, and Doleon just crashes into Erebus, much to the older brother's annoyance. But something happens. He sees something. A quick little flash in his mind, but still. One of what looks to be one of his own brothers still stands, he can't really see who, but the others? Nothing but shadowy, blurred corpses on the ground. When his two younger brothers have already left and he's alone again, it snaps him back to reality. Remember when I said he pretends not to care about anything? Well shit, what he just saw looks bad. REALLY bad. Someone must have…broken through, somehow. Hurt all but one. He NEEDED to prevent that. So he goes to his other brothers to tell about what he saw, all while Doleon and Kieran go about getting the last shard remaining. No one could FATHOM one of their own hurting the others…it makes no sense! Ruled out automatically.
But what if I said.
Doleon doesn't even know what he's about to do. Literally, mind disconnected from everything else. Once he decides to do what he planned to try with all seven, the shards are in control now. But it doesn't fully happen until he decides to SNAP. And when is that? During an argument with Akmad over his recent strange behavior where Doleon insists nothing is happening or wrong. The shards take over and whoops! You stabbed your brother with an energy spear straight through the heart! Cool, heres some more energy to do a little more violence to the rest of them.
You have to But you know who he snaps out of it at. Poor little Kieran, who could do nothing but watch all that time…the others all fought, so why didn't he?! Why did HE have to be the coward?! Why did HE have to be the little weakling good for nothing at all?! And to make it all worse, he HELPED cause this. He was SOOOOOOOOOOOO WILLING TO HELP! Did that make the half of it his fault?
He's just so done with Doleon now. He may be blaming himself too but Doleon killed all the rest. He's actually angry. He's never risen his voice before, but look at him now. Neither of the remaining two are themselves anymore.
He just turns away. Doleon knows he's not coming back. That hurts…but the shards tell him it shouldn't. You're all powerful now, aren't you? That's what you wanted from the start! Do something with it! Forget Kieran, forget your brothers! You never needed them anyway!
And he turns away too. Shame, they had the strongest bond out of all seven…
And for the rest of his immortal life, Kieran decides he needs to be better. Just. Never care again. And what does that turn him into, centuries later?
In the oc universe au, Kieran is in the place of :
Black Death :) Now, I'm aware that Doleon and Kieran being brothers...does not make Shadow and Eclipse brothers. But here's the thing about that, idk WHAT they are actually. Bc to that extent they aren't canonically "brothers" either. In canon, Doom created Black Death, and he created Eclipse. Who knows what that makes them. Due to that, I headcanon that "brothers" in the Black Arms is just the general familial term. Therefore, to me, it makes sense. Sooooooo...random lore drop! Hooray!

Ooo wait I didn't realize we could ask for Doleon.
13, 17, and 19 for him please. :)
13 : What were they like as a kid?
Doleon was always a bit of a troublemaker, who loved to cause problems amongst his brothers (in a light-hearted manner, of course, he still loves them a lot.) He was always ecstatic about pretty much everything, but also very curious as well. Who WAS the Supreme? Why did they create him and his brothers, why do the Shards of Chaos exist, why was it THEIR job to protect them? But all Akmad, the one who seemingly knew the most about the Supreme, ever said in response was that it was just destiny. "The Supreme's Will" was what he always called it. Why'd no one ever question what would happen if they defied that Will? Maybe then they could be free to do as they pleased without worrying about the shards 24/7? Being a guardian was boring...
17 : Biggest weaknesses/flaws?
That would either have to be his ego, or the fact that the shards are actively hurting him both physically and mentally but that will never be something he is allowed to wants to accept. Y'know, whichever one you find more interesting >:)
19 : If they could meet a character from any other media, who would they get along with best?
Bill Cipher (Gravity Falls.) Do I even need to explain.

Okay but so can you make (or link me to) a post going over your OCs cause i am in constant confusion whenever i see them 😭
Well, if you want more info on the more lore-heavy oc's (Terios and Doleon) to get somewhat of an idea, they each have tags! They're :
#terios lore
#doleon lore? (with the question mark lmao)
Has a bunch of stuff there on them. I'd link you to the Terios lore post from some time ago but some of the stuff on there is really incomplete/some parts are inaccurate due to that now. I'd be happy to tell you about my silly little oc's though! (And maybe a refresher in case anyone needs it)
I'm warning you. This WILL be long 😅 Mainly because of Terios. It's all part of an alt canon of mine (Oc Universe au) and I have a lot of oc's. GRAB SNACKS.
DOLEON
Tumblr media
Starting with him, because he plays a HUGE part in Terios' lore and story
Essentially, he's the Black Doom of this au. (Fun fact : he was created because I had no idea how to draw actual Black Doom, nor had the energy to learn, so I made him a hedgehog/alien thing. Then I got to thinking and now he has his own separate lore jhsdbfbkjdb. It's a bit complicated.)
Centuries ago, he had six other brothers (who also each have their own tag, just their names) https://www.tumblr.com/totaleclipse573/739530015615664128/can-i-dump-some-lore-on-yall-real-quick-actually?source=share
This explains everything pretty well I think. Still check out the tag itself if you'd like more info! (You should probably know for later, this guy right here is the definition of "I ALWAYS COME BACK >:D")
Personality wise, he's very egotistical, has a burning hatred for humans and humanity, and is always seeking power. He tends to see himself as much more intelligent and overall better than others (even though some *cough cough Starline cough* perceive him as dumb due to not knowing much about Earth or how things work on this planet.) While sometimes impulsive, he also really knows how to put up a good battle strategy wise. As of now, he (along with Shadow, Eclipse and Terios,) are the only remaining Black Arms left. (ALSO AS OF NOW : he met Starline, WHO IS TOTALLY ALIVE AFTER ISSUE 50, and they decided to form a partnership for each others own secret benefits, planning to stab one another in the back afterwards. They never do 😭 They're just really gay 😭)
TERIOS
Tumblr media
(Cw for child abuse)
2000+ years after the Doleon shards incident, Terios is the accidental twin to Shadow, the initial project being rather mysteriously cloned. The only real explanation found had something to do with energy. This "clone" looked a bit off, with features that pointed to the idea that it seemed to hold more Black Arms DNA (ex. long pointed tail, all sharp teeth, green blooded, clawed fingers.)
But Doleon takes notice to that little mistake in the process. He can use that to his advantage. A pact is rather forcibly made, once the now two projects are finished, Doleon is entitled to one of them to use for his own purposes. He's part of the reason they even exist. He can make things happen if he doesn't get his way. (Geraldoom divorce arc /j)
He takes the black and white-striped one (who doesn't seem to want to be away from its twin it only JUST met, annoyingly.) It seems to be the exact opposite of it's twin, who is loud and confident. It (he can't keep calling this thing an it, for Supreme's sake...his name is Terios now) should be easier for what he has planned.
So while Shadow grew on the ARK, Terios grew on the Black Comet. And uh..............it was rough. He's essentially a victim of child abuse and a hell of a lot of manipulation. Brainwashed for years.
Doleon has Terios for his future plans now, but the downside on his end is that he now actually has to "care" for this small child until he’s old enough to begin his training.
But uh. Well...
Here's something from his lore tag regarding...a certain huge part of his lore
And some art of bitty him
Terios (and Shadow) grew rather quickly (in terms of appearance.) Doleon took that as a sign of "he's old enough" and the brutal and quite frankly traumatizing training began. He would be the BEST, and this was the way to make sure of that. He could never mess up, never make a mistake, he had to be perfect. And he made sure Terios knew that too. Every mistake he made would get him clawed at. The more severe the mistake, more likely the deeper the gash. (Learn how to heal yourself with that energy...or don't, and suffer. Sometimes, if his mistake was so bad, he wouldn't even be allowed to heal with the energy.) It was always on one of his arms or on his face. More often would he get shouted at, grabbed and tossed to the ground like some kind of rag doll. The lesson he eventually had to learn?
Don't ever mess up. On anything. Expect pain and suffering otherwise.
There's also this one other little habit he was eased into...
He doesn't hate his father for these things though. He still cares deeply for him and doesn't ever wish to disappoint him, as he's been doing. Father's doing this for a good reason...! Terios would soon be passed the honor of the power the Shards of Chaos hold, he needed a lot of training and discipline to be able to handle that...!
And that's what he told himself. Every. Time.
This goes on for a few years, and he's gotten much better with his training (he pretty much had to, the injuries weren't healing fast enough.) He rarely speaks unless told to, he's terribly obedient, he's tired, he's hurting, but it doesn't matter. He's what he's supposed to be! He's finally near perfection! (Except for these weird sparks and bursts of shard energy he gets whenever he feels sad...or angry...maybe he could just drown that out?)
Then things get crazy bc Tikal is here now. LET ME EXPLAIN PLEASE-(I first made Terios' story when I was like, ten years old? XD He's a revived oc)
Short summary : In this AU, Tikal is more like a free-ranging spirit. Tikal knew Doleon and his brothers, way back then. She was a ghost and could somehow get through the strange barrier of this little area the brothers were confined to, so they became friends! Tikal, Kieran and Doleon specifically. She wasn't around for when the others were killed, but the last person she saw was Kieran once the barrier was no longer there. That wasn't the only thing that was broken.
Since she already knew Doleon and what he had done in the past, she knew he had no good intentions. While he was away from Terios, she appeared before the Darkhog, alerting and telling him of what the shards really were, and what they could do to a person. And Terios, of course, started to panic. Was he being corrupted right now? Was he ALREADY corrupted? He needed to escape. But how? There was no escape.
Luckily for Terios, Tikal’s spirit was able to transport him back to where he was created, the ARK (not without Doleon putting up a fight of course.) Unluckily, however, at the time he was transported there, the whole ARK fiasco was going on, and Maria had already sent Shadow down to Earth and stuff. Now there were only G.U.N. soldiers, and they spotted him, calling him “Project Shard," for some reason (He had a separate file. There can't be TWO Project Shadow's) So he tries to run from them, but can’t, and they catch up to him. Soon enough, they lock him up in a facility, putting him into cryostasis.
Skip about...54 (???) years (4 years after SA2) and Terios is about to be released for nothing good. And guess what.
There's a one shot for one of the parts I randomly felt like writing out one day :D
This leads up to months of subtle brainwashing (aGAIN) and being brought back to his old mentalities until Terios just HATES that one hedgehog he's never met (gee doesn't that sound a bit like another irrelevant plotline of mine-) He's fully loyal to the Black Arms and to his kind only! Finding the Shards...for Doleon...that's his destiny. That's why he exists!
And so when they finally arrive to conquer earth (and find the remaining shards,) Terios is sent out to do his job. Except he meets people. Whoops.
The first person he ever met was Rouge, out on the streets of Westopolis. She just kind of...appeared? Upside down? Flying? Apparently, she'd seen him around. The things he could do...and she'd like his assistance in a little something. She was getting in his way, he could NOT be sidetracked by some bat.
He got sidetracked by some bat. The power of Rouge everybody. (But its okay because he didn't realize it. No panic attack here.) He still found one of the Shards afterwards! She led him to it, almost...surely a coincidence. Unless she was looking for them too? For some reason? WHY WAS SHE BEING NICE TO HIM ANYWAY??? WHAT TRICKERY WAS THIS??
...Not bad, though. If his tail would stop MOVING LIKE THAT FOR AT LEAST FIVE SECONDS, THOUGH, IT WOULD BE NICER.
Going back to Doleon with the shard, he should've expected somewhat of a lecture for socializing with allies of the enemy. AND OF COURSE, he got that. He's lucky he came back with the shard...he won't be punished.
After that, Ter, being sent out to the same place as a current horde of Black Arms soldiers, runs into Tails after going astray. Lecture down the drain, somewhat. What’s his name? Why is his tail so long? Can he use it in battle? Does he have any powers? He could ask questions all day if it weren’t for Terios starting to look overwhelmed by them (which gets an apology)
All the sudden, that horde of Black Arms start raiding the area Tails and Terios are in, so Tails, knowing this as current danger, grabs Terios by the hand and tells him he knows a safe, inside place.
A more simplified summary of events that come after all this because this is getting too long already sdbjbjkacvhjj
Terios says he has to go and this happens :
(that last part will become relevant in just a bit....)
More shard hunting
Doleon is harder on Terios now that Shadow is out of the picture. He isn't STUPID, Terios, he KNOWS what you've been doing. You keep derailing. Making mistakes. You know exactly where that leads.
Terios is quite literally beaten some sense into and this is the result :
Terios soon realizes Doleon PROBABLY isn't actually trying to help him at all, and instead joines the heroes in an attempt to stop him. He's with them for a while, starts to get somewhat comfortable around them...enough so that his real self starts showing.
And it confuses most. So you mean to say, this weird looking alien hybrid thing that only first showed himself in an attempt to brutally murder Shadow, had an alliance with Doom and the Black Arms from the start, and showed nothing but pure loyalty to them, even to go so far as to declare his actions in their name for the better? He's actually just this...guy. That was really, really badly manipulated.
Look at the way he came in. Even if he wouldn't specify where all those injuries came from, he was obviously treated like garbage. Just something to be used and then thrown aside. But oddly enough, he felt safe around these people. They were supposed to be the enemy!! Just another lie. He could change!! He could be better. Not the kind of better Doleon expected him to be, the kind of better that really just felt like the right thing now.
But hoooooooooooo when Doleon finds out about this.
Terios goes back into the comet after a while of being gone, its noticeable and he's mentally beating himself up about being so stupid. It's part of the plan, though. He'll go in first, so that the others remain unnoticed. Doleon has known about everything. And, if this kid won't LISTEN, he'll just have to MAKE HIM. His mental barriers were always weak anyway...he was the one to really mold the Darkhog into that for convenience.
Um.................angst...............it naturally follows :
When the others see him walking back out again they're confused. What is he DOING?? This isn't part of what they planned at all!
Until Doleon makes himself known as well and says something like "I only took back what belongs to me! It was rightfully mine from the start..." or some other CLEARLY rage-inducing thing. It gets on Shadow's nerves specifically sooooooooo bad, the way Doleon is speaking of Terios. Doesn't matter what they do, though. Terios won't listen. He won't speak. Everything else is blocked out. He belongs here. It's where he's always belonged. He's safe now. This is all he needs. He's home again.
And if it's what the Master told him, wanted of him, he would do anything to prove his loyalty. Anything.
He's forced to fight them, and they're forced to find some kind of way to snap him out of it before he can hurt anyone. He seems to be specifically going after Shadow for the kill, though.
Once he DOES get snapped out of it, he feels IMMENSE guilt. He can see how he hurt some of them, even if it was only a little. And that hurts him
APPARENTLY DOLEON OVER HERE WAS JUST HAVING SOME FUN, BECAUSE ONLY AFTER THIS DOES HE BRING OUT THE SHARDS AND GAIN A NEW FORM ENTIRELY TO FINALLY ENACT HIS END GOAL. Luckily Shadow has the Chaos Emeralds >:D Terios, though? Still terrified, and even more so now. WHAT IS A SUPER FORM?!?!?! He might need some help...
So they have to defeat Doleon in their super forms but Terios is still very new to the concept of chaos energy and super forms and such (he's far more shard energy than chaos energy,) and there may or may not be a scene somewhat reminiscent of that one SA2 scene in my head except no one dies. HOORAY!
And after all that, Terios can finally learn to be himself with his new allies, which leads to his redemption arc!
This part of his story moreso revolves around Terios learning to break free from what had happened before, and learn to better himself with the help of others. He also needs to learn some decent self care (whether it be simple things like taking better care of his fur, or more complex things like learning to accept help with his current mental state.)
At first, he’s still a bit paranoid about everything that happened. He’s worried Doleon could somehow come back at any moment, that the Black Arms could return along with him, that he would be forcibly dragged back in again, even after his life had only just started getting better (oH the nightmare scenes.) Luckily for him, though, now he has people that can actually help with these fears, and he eventually does feel ready to try and move on. Then he feels comfortable enough to start meeting people, and interacts with more of the cast!
This is also the time where he meets Eclipse and the Dark Arms! Short summary : Terios wants to do a Steven Universe and help Eclipse the way all the others helped him. Terios just kinda randomly stumbled into him while he was out one day and got VERY much lost. Eclipse doesn't like him and his sappy “I can help you bc power of friendship!” attitude at first, but then he's able to sense Terios' connection to the hivemind. It feels a bit different than Shadow. So now he's pretty curious as to why and starts asking Terios questions. Eventually Eclipse kinda grows to like Terios, this hybrid is actually nice to him, for some reason. But then Shadow finds them. You can probably tell where that goes (It’s bad for a long while, but it eventually ends with Shadow, Eclipse and Terios all living together bc they're brothers, it’s my own little canon and I can do as I wish XD)
Some redemption arc stuff I've talked about :
Aaaaand a little something about the way he behaves, even now :
Theres one more relevant story arc for him after this, and thats the "Doom arc" I rarely talk about. So shortened version : Shards of Chaos need a new host, they literally POSSESS Terios to do so (since he already has an established connection to them,) Doleon ends up being revived by the energy anyway, due to corruption, Tikal comes back, Espio becomes a sort of mentor for Terios post-possession so he can learn how to manage his newfound unstableness, aaaaand...yeah XD Like I said, this part is more in my head than written. The possessed form is still able to be accessed, very rarely, since Ter can't control it in the slightest.
And so now he's....the way he is! He is him :D He's shy, lacking in confidence, somewhat naïve due to wanting to see the good in everyone, and rather pacifistic, a surprising trait for that of Black Arms descent. He's very sweet, but can be angered on rare occasions. And when that rare occasion happens : start running.
I also gave him a speech disorder, specifically trauma-induced stuttering. He doesn't like it since it makes him sound nervous all the time, but otherwise, he doesn't mind, barely ever notices anymore. I did a lot of research just to be able to portray it accurately (I hope)
I know this was long, but I really just wanted to be able to explain everything clearly. I have other oc's that are FAR less complex, which is most of the others, so if you want, that'll probably have to be like a part two post 😅 Hope you found my oc rambling at least somewhat interesting! (I also hope it isn't too confusing 😭)

WHY DID I JUST REMEMBER TO POST THIS AWAKENED ERA THING I WROTE BEFORE THE WRITERS BLOCK??
I know its late now (for me at least) but
If you wanna know how Terios was released
———————————————————————
For such a small part of the facility, it was guarded fairly tightly, security measures taken at every turn to try and get in his way. One wrong move, and it would cost a whole advantage, possibly even the plan in its entirety, if he himself was lost.
But, then again, even without all seven shards in his grasp at the moment, he was Doleon, for supremes sake. It wasn’t like his chance at success was all that low…
Wait…no. Black Doom. That’s who I am. The spirits know that other one all personally…gotta leave it behind for now.
‘Course, I don’t think the kid will understand that just yet. Better keep it simple if I want to lure him in that way.
He shut his eyes for a moment, and in a flash of light, right in his palm, appeared a large, green gem, radiating with power right before his very eyes. This was the only one he had a direct connection to all along, and thus, it was the only one he could summon at the moment, but for now, it would suffice. Plus, if all went well, he would have a way to change that.
“Divine energy…even after so long, you still keep me going,” he stated softly as to not alert any sort of security, grinning at the warmth this gem seemed to bring. “Don’t worry, I hear your pleas. I’ll gather the rest, and to have all that power back? The years I’ve waited to feel whole again…and I’ve got just the way to make it happen.”
Remembering his mental map of the area, he was quick to head off and get ahead of the security that was more than likely patrolling the area. He arrived just where he had expected to, standing confidently at such. Though, this confidence slightly diminished once he was faced with a small keypad on the wall beside the large door in front of him. He glared at it and its many numbers.
“What is this? Human technology…? Maybe they’re not as stupid as I thought, putting a code in for this thing…”
He stared at the keypad for a few moments, before looking around frantically and facing the door instead. It was then he summoned what looked to be a spear of energy in his hand, charged with electric green lightning, using it to cut right through the metal doors, and provide himself with an entrance that didn’t set of any alarms. He smiled to himself.
“Nope, still stupid.”
Using some of that odd energy, he was able to seal the hole in the metal door back up again. The energy of the shards worked in strange ways, but as long as they remained to his advantage, what was the problem with that? A little unpredictability never hurt anyone, after all.
This small room was notably much darker than the halls he had snuck through to get here. There was something that illuminated it all, though, that being the large cyrostasis tank in the center, filled with a glowing blue liquid. But, the tank held something else too, the very thing that had been taken from him all those years ago…
Now it was time to get it back.
He pressed a hand against the glass, looking up at the sleeping figure within the tank that looked quite like himself in certain features. Focusing on the energy pulsating through his being, his hand became charged with a bit of the electric green energy. He kept it this way for a few moments, keeping a keen eye on the creature inside the glass, until…
It opened its eyes.
The first thing it did was panic, as soon as it could see its surroundings. It had been sent into a frightened frenzy, trying to escape, trying to move, trying to breathe. Doom watched for a bit in sick satisfaction, before deciding he had seen enough of its suffering and decided to release it.
Its peaceful slumber disturbed, it fell to the floor, gasping for air and shaking on its hands and knees.
Now he needed to put on his best act, just as planned.
“It took so long to find a way to release you! Thank the supreme you’re alright. At least, I assume. Could have been worse.”
The creature lifted its head, weakly, but enough to be able to see who was speaking to it. Before it stood some kind of Mobian, black furred and red striped, with an odd third eye on their forehead to set everything else apart. It quickly resumed with its panic, though now making itself more vocal.
“W-What is t-t-this?! W-Who are y-you?! Who a-am I?!” Were the first questions the creature asked, stuttering uncontrollably and almost immediately starting to sob. Its breathing only became heavier with every statement. And to add to all that, it was now bursting with that same electric energy. “I-It’s terrible…! I d-don’t want to…g-go back…p-p-please!! I-I-I don’t k-know what I did w-wrong and…and w-why it w-was b-b-burning to b-b-breathe…! I-I d-don’t know a-anything…! I p-p-promise…! I…! I…!”
“Oh. Ohhhh my stars. Hey, calm down, kid,” he bent down and put a hand on its shoulder for comfort, as the bursts of energy didn’t affect him, but that only made it whimper a bit in what could’ve been fear, pain, anything really. “I need you to listen to me, so I can explain. I need you to trust me right now, so I can help you through this. Can you do that?”
Though still sniffling, heavily breathing and sparking wildly, it nodded, its glowing green eyes filled with tears.
“Okay, good. My name is Doleon, and yours is Terios. Terios the Darkhog. Either of those ring a bell?”
It, Terios, thought for a moment before nodding again, and responding in a near whisper. “I…r-remember the name Terios, I-I think…i-it’s mine…but I don’t remember y-yours. I’m really s-sorry…”
Doleon sighed. “That’s fine, we can work on that in a second. This is the facility where you’ve been held for the past fifty years. Humans imprisoned you here long ago, when they took you away from me. Do you remember that?”
Terios shook his head to say no, wiping away a few stray tears that still remained. Luckily, his energy outburst was calming along with himself.
“W-what do you mean…they took me from you?” Terios finally calmed himself enough to form a clearer question. Doleon had noticed his eyes had turned back into their more natural gray as well, which was a good sign. “W-why did they put me in here…?”
“Well, I’ll try and summarize-“ Doleon stopped himself, however, once he caught onto the oncoming sounds of shoes headed their way. Somehow, they had been found. Maybe the tank had some sort of silent alert sent out…not important right now. “…Someplace else. Damn it. We need to leave, now.”
“W-What?! W-What’s going on?!” Small sparks of energy had begun to form on Terios’ fur again, but Doleon immediately noticed.
“Those are the humans I was talking about. If they find out I freed you, they’ll find a way to put you right back in and make it ten times worse.”
“NO! No, not again…please…”
“Hey, that’s why I’m here. They won’t be able to do anything more to you, just so long as you trust me to keep it that way.” Doleon extended his hand out to Terios for him to take. Though Terios was hesitant, everything else scared him so much more. So he closed his eyes, braced himself for another possible crying episode, and grabbed hold of the hand that wanted to help him.
Once they had managed to teleport away was when the security had finally managed to break into where they had been previously. The minute they saw the broken glass shattered over the floor, however, it was quite obvious.
Project Shadow : Shard was long gone.
———————————————————————
Doleon and Terios had ended up far outside the area of the facility, something that brought Terios a sense of comfort, even if it was slight and they were standing alone in the dead of night. The teleportation, or whatever that had been, made him rather dizzy, though, and so Doleon had to catch him before he fell forward.
“H-How did you do that?”
“Oh, that’s easy. With-hold on. You’re still stuttering. Is something still wrong?” Doleon asked the Darkhog.
“N-No…j-just a little nervous…b-but I also think this may be just normal for me…s-sorry.”
“Understandable, I suppose. But you should try and drop that. No one will take you seriously. And maybe speak up too, I can barely hear you with all that whispering.”
“…O-Okay.”  Terios replied, even softer than normal this time.
“…We’ll work on that. Anyway, about that last question? I did it all with this.”
Doleon held out his hands, and soon, hovering above them, there lay a single, green gem, glowing bright in the dark of the night. It captured Terios’ interest immensely, not to mention he felt warm and safe and calm around it too…a little odd, but still okay.
“Amazing, isn’t it?”
“Y-Yeah…w-what is it…?” Terios struggled to speak a little, the longer he stared at this gem. It had a weird effect on him be couldn’t explain…it felt familiar, even.
“This is just one of the seven Shards of Chaos, a set of all-powerful gems that belong to me. I can tell you’re able to feel its power like I am, made me go all woozy the first time around too…”
When Doleon looked over, he found Terios, nodding off while sitting up. Maybe it was just him getting used to the energy, which was good, but now wasn’t the right time for that.
“Pay attention,” Doleon snapped his fingers to pull the Darkhog awake and back to reality. “This is important to that explanation I was talking about earlier in the facility.”
“So these ‘Shards of Chaos’…they have something to do with why the humans took me away from you?”
“Exactly that. You see, all those years ago? I was training you, to become the next guardian and holder of all the power that these shards hold. But, humans don’t tend to like any sort of power they know they can’t control. So, they took you away from me, and locked you in cryostasis in hopes of keeping it all away. I’ve been looking for you, though. I would not let the power of the shards go to waste.”
“O-Oh…I feel like throwing up…” Terios held his stomach. “That’s so much to take in…I-I mean…why would the humans do that…? We did nothing to them…”
“Yeah, well, they’re a naturally cruel specimen. Who, I’d say, need a little punishment for their crimes, now that the very things they’ve been trying to hard to keep out…are alive and free. Wouldn’t you agree?”
“You mean…f-fighting them? A-All of them? We wouldn’t stand a chance…we’re outnumbered. They’re an entire species, and we’re just…two.”
“That’s where you’re wrong, dear Terios,” he gently pat Terios’ head a few times.  “Or, did I forget to mention I also lead an entire alien species I formed myself…?”
“Really…?” Terios’ ears perked up, almost in disbelief.
“The mighty species known as the Black Arms. Matter of fact, you’re one of them. You’d be fighting alongside your own kind.”
“This keeps getting crazier…I-I’m still recovering from the t-t-tube incident…that, and I-I get the feeling I’m no fighter. I don’t know what it is…I just f-feel it. I-I’m not supposed to fight…”
“It’ll be simple. I already have a plan laid out,” Doleon assured him. “We’ll return to this planet soon enough, and start the invasion. Until then, we need to return to the Black Comet, and search for the remaining Shards of Chaos. Once we have all seven, the humans stand no chance.”
“The Black Comet…?” Terios tilted his head in confusion.
“It’s where our kind thrives and comes from. I trained and raised and taught you there before, no doubt I could do it again before the invasion. You’ve forgotten a lot, but I accept the challenge.”
“A-And…what if the shards aren’t anywhere…? Maybe even here on t-this planet…?”
“Earth. Nothing but a slate for harvest. I can assure you, they’re not here. I’m sure that’s everything. So, what do you say…?”
Terios had no words to speak. He simply stared at Doleon, endlessly speechless.
“You do know I’m only trying my best to help, don’t you? I’m doing this for you. I don’t think you’d want to go back with them, especially not after all they put you through, and could easily continue, now, do you?”
Terios could feel himself start to shake again.
Those events were ones he definitely remembered. They may have been blurry, and very much cut off, but they were there. He remembered all the screaming, crying, BEGGING as they put him back under at the slightest sign of misbehavior…those humans. Good for nothing but causing pain.
It made him sad, very sad…but something else was there too…what was that?
“Anger,” Doleon spoke up, and Terios jumped. “The Black Arms are part of a hivemind. We can read each others thoughts for many different purposes. No, you can’t read mine. No one can.”
Scary…
But what was scarier?
Finally, with his hands and body still shaking, Terios agreed with a short nod, and look of determination.
“I want to help.” He whispered.
Doleon smirked victoriously.
He was such an easy catch, too.
“Glad you could return to your senses. Welcome back home, Terios.” Doleon helped Terios get back up on his feet, and they set off, aiming to leave this god-forsaken planet for the time being. Though, there was one more thing Doleon still needed to mention, the final nail in the coffin.
“By the way, I feel like you should know. There is one top enemy of ours siding with the humans…and he’ll be your primary target once you get the hang of things.”
“Hmm? W-Who is it…?”
“Important details first. His name?”
Doleon looked away, which confused Terios a bit, but he was still interested to know.
“…Shadow the Hedgehog.”

Just had a small thought, about Doleon and Kieran back then
They would've LOVED stargazing, sitting somewhere up high they probably weren't supposed to be, wondering if there's actually anything out there beyond this little world they've been confined to. Doleon says they'll find out one day! Together, as brothers, they'll conquer the world! Beyond that, even! Through exploration, of course. Could they even go to space? Imagine that. Maybe someday they'll be free from the burden of having to guard the Shards of Chaos all the time.
Kieran kind of thinks that's impossible by this point, though. It doesn't feel destined for them. They were made for this purpose only, and as unfortunate as that was, it couldn't just be changed.
Doleon's all nahhhh, don't think like that! Fate can be whatever you make it! It'll happen, for sure, one day! He can see it in the stars!
Kieran just laughs. That isn't an actual thing that works...
And maybe that's true, but at least it cheered him up! That was the plan ALL ALONG MWAHAHA >:D

Something about the little thing Doleon wears around his neck, it's not supposed to be like that lmao
It's supposed to be worn on his head, like the rest of his brothers do (except Kieran, somehow all he appeared with in terms of guardian symbolism was the tiny gem) but Doleon was just like "this is STUPID" and did what he wanted regardless

Currently thinking about Doleon's hidden claustrophobia and why he even has it
I've mentioned it briefly once before, but for recap, it happened while he, and Kieran, who had reluctantly agreed to help Doleon with his "harmless idea" and only became more wary of it as it went on, were Shard stealing from the other guardians. Of course, if their own brothers couldn't be there at every second of the day to watch over their Shards, there had to be other, more "natural" ways to keep them and their power protected. (Did the Supreme do this? Did the Supreme PLAN for any of this? Who knows...)
So they have a few Shards collected (there WERE ways to get them and stay unnoticed by their guardians, though immensely difficult,) and are now going for Orpheus' Shard. His ability is super strength, so what's the more "natural" way of protecting his shard when its not where its supposed to be?
Lol, the ENTIRE ruin-like area starts to close in on itself! Be quick, or...you can figure out the rest.
(Also, would like to mention, they aren't just carrying the Shards around the entire time. They put them in a place only they know about to keep them secure.)
So that starts to happen. Naturally, both Doleon and Kieran are panicking. Kieran's the smarter one, Doleon knows that, so he wants him to try and find some way out of the ruins so he can stop this, and they can escape with the Shard (not because he wants to keep his younger brother safe...? As he usually would...? Hmmmmm...ODD.) So Kieran gets out somehow (this is an in-the-moment idea I just had...maybe he escaped by going upwards? He has a better grip than Doleon when it comes to climbing and stuff,) and IMMEDIATELY works on trying to stop this. That's his BROTHER in there.
Doleon tries to stop it from the inside, too. But he's not as strong as his older brothers. Or as fast. Or as smart. Or as powerful...
All he has is his stupid electric energy thing.
Meanwhile Kieran doesn't even KNOW if he has an actual power...anything he's done so far has been so random and strange he doesn't even know what to do with it!
But its still closing in.
Kieran is panicking, but Doleon? He's terrified.
He's not going to survive this.
It isn't until things start getting REALLY painful that Doleon is actually able to do something, though. NOW he's starting to feel a little power coming back to him, that power he craved so much ever since he messed with his own Shard the first time. But what he did was somehow both involuntary and unnoticed by himself once everything just barely stopped before he could be crushed. Either way, the ruins were DESTROYED now. Reduced to mere rubble on the ground. Kieran, of course, ran over to him, relieved. But he had to ask...what was that?
Doleon could ask him the same thing.

🖊️ - Doleon
Believe it or not, even an immortal alien/hedgehog being can have mortal fears. He has a bad case of claustrophobia (lets just say stealing the shards of chaos back then and their powers when you're not the right guardian/the actual guardian wasn't around was...painful. One specifically scarred him with this fear.)

I so often think about all the things Doleon could've felt or done or said or thought if he weren't so far gone in the Shards' corruption. They have a constant and strong realignment into their control. If Doleon is SLIGHTLY out of place, oh no, migrane (????????) The worst part? He isn't even aware of this to begin with!
