Elves comforting you
a/n: wifey @queenmeriadoc requested “how elves comfort you when you’re missing your family” and I tried my best to deliver! you know the drill - lemme know how you liked it, reblogs and comments are extremely appreciated and the ask box is open 😊💖 i’m excited/nervous bc it was my first time writing for most of these characters! 👀
INCLUDES: Galadriel, Arondir, Elrond, Celebrimbor, Gil-galad
(Elrond and Galadriel can count both as LOTR and TROP versions, ig?)
Tumblr media
GALADRIEL:
absolutely understands you because she was parted from many of her family members and close people
asks you whether you want to talk about something, you want advice or you just want her to distract you somehow
she will offer a shoulder to cry on if you need that
she will run her fingers through your hair
also she will pamper you the whole evening to try and chase the sadness away because she loves to take action as much as she can, especially when it comes to someone she loves deeply
she will bring you your favorite food or some magically calming herbal tea, run you a bath full of flowers and scented salts and all those fancy things
ARONDIR:
he is a great listener and you know you can open up to him about your sadness and nostalgia
you can see in his eyes that he is deeply empathetic
he will gently cradle your face in his hands and wipe away any tears that might appear
in order to cheer you up, he suggests a walk, because sunshine and fresh air always seem to work for him
the walk ends up being a hunt for the most beautiful flowers that he wants to pick for you
so gradually your tears turn to smiles and you end up walking back home together with a bunch of flowers in your arms and his strong arms around your shoulders
ELROND:
oh he completely understands how you feel and he literally tears up a bit when he sees that you’re sad
he will talk you through your feelings and try his best to advise you, but he knows that it can only help so much
his touch is feather light as he takes you to your quarters and he knows you well enough to know the best medicine for your sadness - a cuddle session
he will fiddle with your hair as you two talk, he will be the big spoon if you want him to, eventually he will pepper kisses onto any available area of your skin
if you drift away to sleep, he will still be there and hold you until you wake up, feeling a bit less sad
CELEBRIMBOR:
he doesn’t need to ask “is something wrong”, he can immediately ask “WHAT is wrong” because he can read you that well
he will definitely hold your hands and squeeze them in support while you’re spilling the contents of your heart out
if your family doesn’t live too far away, he will ask whether you want him to accompany you on a trip to them
if that isn’t an option for whatever reason, he is definitely taking you on a “trip” to the forge - he knows you like to watch him work so it will be a nice distraction to you
also maybe he will make you a little something special, suited just to your taste,  like a hair accessory, to cheer you up even more
either way he won’t give up until he makes you smile
GIL-GALAD:
while you’re alone and pondering your feelings, he sneaks up behind you and envelops you in a warm hug
he will inquire about your thoughts and emotions in a comforting low voice - he knows exactly how to get you talking
he will immediately suggests going to visit your family if possible
but until then, he will make sure to have your favorite food made for you
and he will dance with you to nonexistent music, maybe hum a tune
and spin you around the biggest hall until your laughter starts echoing around it
also soft kisses are a must

Hi my fellow german ♡
If you're up to, I'd love to request a Gil-Galad x reader writing (: I'm so sad that there is still not much out there. Something fluffy like love at first sight or first kiss (or both haha)
Thank you so much in advance!♡
Hey there! 💗 I am so sorry that you had to wait such a long time for me to respond! :( I was suffering from a writers block and I couldn't write anything for months :'( But I am back and I am trying to catch up! I hope that you enjoy this One-Shot (or maybe two shot hehe) even though it ended up a little bit shorter than I wanted to. But I will try to write a part 2 for this one, so we can have more Gil-Galad content hehe. Again, I am so sorry that you had to wait for such a long time! And I am sorry if my english sounds weird in the story :o But please enjoy! 💗💗
FOREST HEART - GIL-GALAD IMAGINE
Tumblr media
Pairing: Gil-Galad x Reader
Summary: You are an old friend of Galadriel and visit her in Lindon, where you wander off into the forest. You just wanted to enjoy the nature but you found a hidden treasure that will change your life.
Warnings: None, just some Gil, snobby language and bad english.
Request Here / Masterlist
Nestled amidst ancient trees and shimmering waters, you have lived a life full of peace and harmony. You had chosen this life, far from Lindon, to escape the gossip and side-eyes you would get when passing by other elves who knew you were not like them. Your father was an elf, but your mother was of the race of men. She was the most beautiful woman you have ever seen but the fragility of a mortal life took her away from you. After her passing, your father followed her into death, since his heart couldn't bear the grief and loss it had suffered.
You grew up in a small cottage close to Lindon, the place your mother and her mother were born and raised. It was your sanctuary, your haven, and as a child, you thought Valinor must have looked exactly like your home. Even after your parents passed away you stayed at that small cottage to care for the garden your mother cherished so much.
Even though you lived your life far from others, you still had close friends you have known since childhood. One of them was Galadriel and you would refer to her as your best friend. You held her dear in your heart and even though you hadn't seen each other for centuries, you regularly wrote letters to each other. You would usually write about how your garden is growing and that the birds are nesting again, while Galadriel would entertain you with the adventures she had been on. (If you can call it an adventure. She is trying to hunt down orcs to find Sauron and with each letter you get from her it becomes apparent that she is slowly losing her mind. You are worried for your friend because she seems too fixated on Sauron being still alive.)
A couple of days ago you received an invitation to Lindon to celebrate Galadriel and her troop for „freeing the world of all evil“. You were happy to hear that her efforts to hunt down every orc are finally being acknowledged! And you wouldn’t be her friend if you wouldn’t tend that celebrations! So with a mix of excitement, worries and nostalgia you went on the journey towards Lindon.
When you arrived, Galadriel greeted you with open arms and a radiant smile on her face! It must have been decades the last time you have seen each other. But before you could talk about old memories and laugh about the shenanigans you did when you were children, she introduced you to Elrond, the herald of the High King. He offered to guide you around since Galadriel had business to do and while he was giving you a small history lesson that wasn’t really anticipating, he also warned you to not get too deep into the forest. For someone who doesn’t know the woods very well it is easy to get lost in them. And the last thing Elrond wants is to lose you and having Galadriel yelling at him for not paying attention. You had to promise to not go on your own and to always stay in the city. And you really wanted to keep that promise. You really did.
The days before the celebration you tried to spend as much time with Galadriel as possible. But she still had some duties she had to attend to, so she would usually leave you alone in the evening. It is your third evening here in Lindon and you already wish to be back at your small cottage. Elves aren’t a noisy folk but still it seemed like their voices were yelling at you. All the people, the talking, the faint music in the distance - you weren’t used to it, so for that moment it was just too much for you. You needed a moment of silence and since you arrived in Lindon it seemed like the trees were talking to you. You remembered the promise you’ve made and said to yourself that you would only walk for a bit - not too far off, so you can easily find a way back. Also, you have the senses of an elf, so nothing could go wrong.
With a sense of childlike wonder, you ventured off the path that was before you and headed straight into the woods. The forest with its towering trees, vibrant flowers and singing birds, mesmerized you and you have totally forgotten the words of Elrond. With each step you take, you get further away from the city but closer to the calmness of your soul.
Lost in the magic of the moment, you failed to notice the sun slowly going down and being replaced by a soft darkness.
„Beautiful isn’t it?“ Suddenly, a voice broke through the silence of the trees, dragging you back to reality. Startled, you turned to find a men standing in front of you with a gentle smile on his face. His presence was both mysterious and comforting. You have seen his face before, many years ago, but you can’t remember who he was. Maybe a friend of your father?
„Indeed. While the soil here might look like any other forest, it is made of hope and wishes from those who have walked here before us." You spoke softly while maintaining your gaze on the man in front of you.
He came a few steps closer to you with a light smile on his face. „It has been a long time since someone recognized Lindon's beauty. Too many became used to its sight and stopped wondering what miracles it might hold.“ You listened carefully to his words and nodded „But it seems you are not from Lindon. Lost, perhaps?“
„Galadriel is a friend of mine, and I am not lost. My feet tend to carry me places where my heart wants to go but my thoughts are too afraid of.“ The man before opened his mouth to share his thoughts with you but was interrupted by the voice of Galadriel who came running towards you.
„Y/N you shouldn’t be here!“ She looked at you and then made eye contact with the dark-haired elf in front of you. „I apologize! Y/N is a visitor and a friend of mine, my king.“ You nearly tripped over a root when you heard your friend address that man as „my king“. The reason his face was so familiar is because he is the High King of the Noldor, Gil-Galad.
Galadriel drags you away from him before you have a chance to speak, scolding you for being so careless. You apologized to her several times and felt that by not addressing him by his title, you had offended the king. In fact, he felt no offense at all. The thought of your conversation still lingered in his mind as he watched you and Galadriel walk away. Whenever his shoulders are unable to bear the weight of the crown, he retreats into the forest to enjoy the silence. Usually, the elves of Lindon don’t go that far into the woods so he can be on his own. But today, you were carried deeper into the woods by your own feet without a care in the world. For a while, Gil-Galad watched you admire the flowers and trees while the last light of the setting sun was reflected in your eyes. He was in awe and for the first time in his long life, he didn’t have the courage to speak. But when darkness slowly reached out, he talked to you and he was immediately enchanted by your voice and words. He always thought that he had lost his heart in the woods but it seemed that you found it. Now it is up to you if you want to claim it for yourself.
To be continued 💗

Thank you so much lovely! My Gil Galad story is that yn is Erlronds sister, so like her brother she’s half human, and for that she suffers a bit from other elves. Gil Galad has been in love with her from the moment he laid his eyes on her and wants nothing more than to love and cherish her. But she doesn’t think she’s worth it of the King, until he proves her wrong. What do you think?
Of course!!!! This was a great prompt, and I had such a good time writing it!!!
The High-King's Love
Tumblr media
You know it’s foolish. You’ve told yourself a million times, and others have chastened you as well for your lofty feelings, but you cannot rid yourself of your love for Gil-Galad any more than you stem the flow of blood from your heart. So, you suffer in silence, knowing that you will never be worthy of him, never be accepted as High-Queen.
How could you be? You are half-mortal, too human for the elves and too elvish for the humans. Your younger brother, Elrond, urges you not to think in such a way, to confess your feelings for Gil-galad and see if he returns them.
The High-King has never married, never been seen with a lover, so reason stands that you may have a chance. But you’re too afraid to take the shot. To pull back the drawstring and let your arrow fly, hoping desperately that it will hit its mark and not fly off into the weeds.
So, you ignore the man, flee conversations with him, hide in your chambers when he calls upon you, and take your meals in solitude. This is partially due to your own fear, and partially in order to cease the cruel whispers.
The others of the court had begun to turn on you, speaking harshly of you behind your back. Whispering that you would attempt to seduce the king with your scandalous half-mortal ways, or that your diluted blood would taint his own pure and royal bloodline and put an end to the great Elven kings.
But it is the rumors of your inadequacy that sting the most. That you cannot cook, or clean, that you have no skill in weaving or battle. That your singing voice is a frog’s croak, your dancing like that of a lumbering bear. All untrue, and you know that in your heart. But when Gil-galad goes out of his way to help you through the steps of a newer dance, or calls for a servant to clean the spilled wine, you feel as if he thinks you a failure as well.
You’re walking in the garden, attempting to get some fresh air and quiet your mind before bed, when you hear them. Lady Aria and Lord Arannis, a married pair who have taken a particular dislike to you and your brother.
“I hear the High-King has called upon her many times, and she refuses to appear.” Lady Aria said, a disbelieving tone to her voice.
“You think that is bad, my love? I was told that he wished to replant all the flowers outside her quarters to be those of her favorite flower.”
“She surely has enthralled him with some strand of mortal lust, a pity her kind is allowed to roam free.”
You bit your lip to muffle your sob, and stumbled backwards, tears blurring your vision as you fled in the opposite direction of their cruel words.
And as luck would have it, you ran right into Gil-galad.
He catches you, his warm hands on your shoulders, his eyes filled with concern. “Lady y/n, what ails you?”
The dam breaks, and you tell him everything, the cruel words, the whispers, your feelings of inadequacy, and most importantly your affections for him. It all comes tumbling out as you sob into his robe.
He cups your face gently, raising your head, your eyes forced to meet his, and he kisses you. It’s soft and sweet and fills you with a steady warmth that dries your tears.
“I love you, y/n, I have longed to speak those words, but have held myself back in fear you would not return them.” He admitted, his forehead resting against yours.
“But I am not fit to be your queen, our people will never accept me.” You whispered, knowing you should pull away but finding yourself unable to.
“Why do you think such things? Because those who are jealous, whisper them in the dark? Leave their darkened hearts in the shadows and join me. Step forward into the light, y/n, I wish for no queen but you.”
You wanted to believe him, truly you were believing him. His calm and steady voice, rich and deep, vibrating through your bones, calming your worrying heart.
His hands gripped yours, and he brought them to his lips. “I will put an end to their words, whether you accept my plea to rule by my side or not. Even if you reject me, it still wounds my heart to see you suffer.”
“You love me?” You asked, looking up at him nervously.
“Yes, you are intelligent and beautiful, kind, and charming. You care for our people even when they are cruel to you, and you have been a loyal heart. I could ask for no better queen.” His words are full of sincerity, and you feel a surge of bravery.
Going up on your toes, you press your lips to his. “I will marry you; I will be your queen.”
He smiles into the kiss and brushes his lips across your forehead before offering you, his arm.
You take it hesitantly, and he leads you back down the path.
“Lady Aria, Lord Arannis, good evening.” He calls to them.
They look surprised to see you on the High-King’s arm but make no comment, simply greeting you both.
“It seems you two will be the first to hear our good tidings.”
“Good tidings, my king?” Lord Arannis asks.
“We are to be married; Lady y/n has finally accepted my proposal.” He smiles down at you.
You smile shyly up at him, biting back a laugh at the shocked looks on the pair’s faces.
“That is—well…very exciting, my king.” Lady Aria stutters, taking her husband’s arm and beginning to pull him away. “We shall spread the good tidings to all we see.”
“Please do. I shall make an official announcement on the morrow.” He calls after the retreating pair.
You giggle and lean into him, “That will certainly change the tide of whispers.”
He wraps his arm around you, pulling you closer.
You sigh in relief, feeling content, nuzzled into your soon-to-be husband’s side.

Being sent by your father to seduce Gil-Galad and then falling for him would involve...
Gli-Galad x reader.
*****
👑 For a few years Gil-Galad has tried to establish an alliance with the Greenwood, with the creation of diplomatic, trade and military relations. His efforts have mainly fallen on deaf ears, since King Oropher seems perfectly content with his kingdom's isolation.
👑 Gil-Galad has almost lost hope, when unexpectedly, out of the blue, he receives a letter from Oropher announcing that he will send and emissary to Lindon to discuss the forging of a new alliance.
👑 The emissary is you, the King's younger child and only daughter. Gil-Galad has never met you -he actually had forgotten Oropher had other children besides crown prince Thranduil- but he is determined to build new relations between your kingdoms, whoever his interlocutor is.
👑 He therefore welcomes you with all honors and assigns you a personal maid and an elegant set of rooms in the palace. You soon make a good impression on the Elves of Lindon, most of whom have never met an Elf from the Greenwood before, and make new friends at court, first of all Elrond, who you quickly take a liking to.
👑 The King himself, at first only focused on his diplomatic projects, finds himself appreciating your presence and your company. Strong-willed and quick-witted, able to control your emotions and at the same time to fight for what you believe in, you are exactly the type of person he approves of, even more because unlike most Silvan Elves -which you are by half, thanks to your mother- and your own father, you don't openly mistrust other Elven kins but are friendly and respectful, as a good guest should.
👑 Almost every day you take a walk in the palace's gardens, as you did at home. Coincidentally, that is the same place Gil-Galad frequents when he needs to reflect on some important matter or to escape after a whole day spent in his study; because of this you often meet, and while you make clear you don't want to disturb him and you don't need to be entertained all the time, you both discover an appreciation for each other's company, and you often walk together, talking about everything and nothing or simply enjoying the peace. Twice you go riding together, and a few times the King requests the pleasure of your company for a private dinner.
👑 A firm friendship soon develops between you... or rather it would, if it weren't for a single problem...
👑 The alliance talks; they are going nowhere.
👑 Most of the time you are a perfectly pleasant and reasonable person, but as soon as you sit in front of him and his advisers to discuss the creation of stable diplomatic relations between your kingdoms, a military pact or even just a simple trade agreement that would benefit both Lindon and the Greenwood, it is like a new person takes your place, a person who enjoys making the King's life as hard as she can.
👑 Every proposal he makes, you refuse, either immediately or changing your mind later, wasting his efforts; you act like a spoiled brat, demanding the most absurd things or rejecting perfectly reasonable and favorable terms, and often you don't even attend the meetings that have been organized at the time and date you decided. You write to your father to ask for his opinion about every little thing, even though you, as an ambassador, have the power to make decisions in his name, which means that days, even weeks, are wasted waiting for a response that is often long in coming.
👑 You have been in Lindon for months, and no significant step forward has been made towards the alliance the King had hoped would be already fully implemented by now; instead, relations between Lindon and the Greenwood are as distant as ever - even more, perhaps, since some of his advisers have started losing hope and abandoning the whole project.
👑 It is frustrating; disappointing; and most of all, disconcerting. More than once, he has gotten the impression that all your objections and reconsiderations are not due to uncertainty or the desire to reflect on any single quibble, which would be normal, or at least understandable for an ambassador, but to the deliberate desire to create havoc and throw him and his advisers into despair. You have come to Lindon expressely to build the alliance, but he could swear you are working against it, and against him. But why? It is a very serious matter, and while he likes to think he is able to take a joke, he cannot believe Oropher sent you to him with the command to make his life as hard as you can; a less reasonable King in his place would have thrown you out already, and an ulterior worsening of the relations between Lindon and the Greenwood could even lead to war. You are an ambassador, and a princess; how can you not realize the danger you are putting your people in, and the benefits you could instead reap if you were only a little more accomodating?
👑 Gil-Galad feels as if in those months he has hosted two different maiden, with the same visage and completely different personalities. How can you be such a pleasant person, and at the same time the worst diplomatic interlocutor? How is it possible that he enjoys your company so much, and you clearly enjoy his, and still you are unable to agree on anything when the future of your kingdoms is at stake? If you had shown yourself to be unintelligent, or not interested in the security and the well-being of your people, he could simply order you to leave Lindon and request another ambassador to be sent in your place. In point of fact, the opposite is true: you are extremely smart and insightful, and your love for the Greenwood and its subjects is evident. But then why? Why are you making fun of him?
👑 And, even more disconcerting, why can't he hate you, or even just get upset, because of it? Why cannot he even listen to the advisers who ask him to send you away since your presence in Lindon offers no benefit? Sometimes, at the end of another fruitless meeting, he feels about to take you by the shoulders and shake you until you finally accept to work with, and not against, him; but the simple thought of seeing you leave Lindon is unbearable, even if he had to put up with your behaviour for another century.
👑 Forever, maybe.
👑 And then, one day, it is your absence that flusters the court, not something you have said or done. "The princess has disappeared." Elrond reports in the afternoon, more worried than he wishes to look "We have no idea where she has gone; I sent the guards looking for her, but in vain. What should we do?"
👑 Gil-Galad is immediately concerned. He knows you can look after yourself, even more because you are a trained warrior and at this point you can orient yourself around the palace, but he knows the area is not free of danger. The safety of an ambassador is responsability of the sovereign who hosts them, and he doesn't even want to think how your father would react if you were hurt, but for once, the relations with the Greenwood, even the danger of a war, have lost any significance.
👑 What if something terrible has happened to you? What if you are hurt, and unable to ask for help? What if, and he shivers at the thought, someone assaulted you and...? No; it is not possible, he cannot believe it...
👑 "Did she say there was a specific place she wanted to go to?" Elrond asks; Gil-Galad looks at him. "Why should I know?" "Forgive me, my lord, but it is evident to everyone that you and the princess have become particularly... intimate, since she has arrived..."
👑 Intimate, yes, Gil-Galad reflects; it is true that a special relationship has developed between the two of you, even though he cannot know your heart and your mind as he desperately wants. But there will be time to reflect about why that inability causes him so much pain; now he needs to find you, and make sure you are all right. Elrond tells him that you must have gone for a ride, since your mare is not in the stables, but they have no way to know where you have gone.
👑 He knows, perhaps. There are many trails to ride on in the territory surrounding the palace, but the King's mind goes to a specific place, a small glade surrounded by evergreen trees at the end of a rarely trodden path and because of this one of his favourite, next to a waterfall above a small lake he often went swimming in as a youth. That glade is for him a private place, where to forget for an hour his duties and responsabilities, but he did bring you there, the first person he chose to share that special place with.
👑 Why did he do that? He suspects he knows, in his heart, but there will be a better time to reflect on his feelings. He tells Elrond -who is looking at him in that particular manner, as if he could read in his heart and mind without effort- to keep looking for you, has a servant saddle his horse, and leaves, reaching the glade at full gallop.
👑 The rumble of the waterfall is deafening under the cloudy sky. He finds your mare quietly grazing, but his heart skips a beat, or four, when he sees you sprawled on the grass, completely still. You have fainted, he realizes as he kneels next to you, his heart full of anguish, and a wound on your left temple is bleeding. "Princess, can you hear me? Please, wake up..."
👑 When your eyes finally open, the relief in him is overwhelming. You groan, and "Gil-Galad?" you ask softly, looking at him; it is the first time he hears you call him by his name, and not his title, and something tiny but powerful happens in his heart, something that makes him shiver "What... oh, Eru..."
👑 You tell him that you had just reached the glade when something, maybe a snake or another small animal, had spooked your horse, who rearing up had unseated you, and you had fallen hitting your head against a rock. Gil-Galad is even more worried than ten minutes ago, but you assure him that you are fine, except for a heavy headache. "What are you doing here?" you then ask curiously, and for some reason he feels himself blushing - for the first time in a thousand years.
👑 "Well, you didn't tell anyone where you had gone, and you had gone missing for some time, we got worried..." "So worried you decided to come yourself, hir nin? You had no guards or servants to delegate the task to?" you insist, and as he sits next to you he admits he had to come personally, both because the glade is a private place he doesn't want his people snooping around in... and because he couldn't wait to learn you were all right, he had to see with his own eyes.
👑 "I am all right; and I am sorry I made you worry. I wanted to ride, and you were busy, and this place is so beautiful and peaceful... But I should have left word about my destination." you confess. Gil-Galad does not intend to scold you; and in his heart, he wonders what makes him happier, the fact that you love the glade as much as he does, or that you wished him to accompany you. "I am just glad you are not hurt." he confesses, as he moves on the grass and his hand touches yours, and you simply, but warmly, smile in return.
👑 You should return immediately to the palace, since everyone is still worried and looking for you, but neither you nor Gil-Galad speak as you both enjoy the quiet of the glade, and the secret pleasure of each other's company. You look at his handsome face, the long black hair sprawling on his back and shoulders, the dark eyes you have so often seen in your dreams ever since the two of you met, and suddenly you find it impossible to keep your secret for a moment more.
👑 "I need to talk to you; I know my behaviour has been... disconcerting, ever since I arrived in Lindon, and that I did my best to impede the creation of a new alliance, instead of facilitate it. I am sorry, you deserved better; but I could not disobey my father."
👑 You tell him that you had tried to convince your father to build an alliance with Lindon for decades, while he is content with the Greenwood's isolation... until an idea occurred to him. Since your brother is his heir, one thing he had long looked for was a suitable husband for you, even though the King was uninterested in forging relations with other kingdoms and you had refused to be courted by the children of the most powerful noble family of the Greenwood. Oropher knew Gil-Galad was unmarried... and so he ordered you to move to Lindon and make the King fall in love with you.
👑 "Aren't you worthy of becoming the Queen of the second most powerful kingdom of Elvendom? Aren't you a princess, whose worthy spouse can only be either a King or the heir of one? Even if a diplomatic and military alliance with Lindon were developed, I could not trust Gil-Galad to keep his side of the bargain... not unless there were someone in his court who could influence him, and who would always have the Greenwood's best interests at heart."
👑 In short, your father wanted you to pretend to agree to the alliance, but to actually make things as difficult as you could, to delay any progress until Gil-Galad, exasperated and disillusioned, and by now madly in love with you, would accept Oropher's offer to take you as his bride in exchange for his help.
👑 You look at him, wordlessly, waiting for his answer, but Gil-Galad doesn't have one to give. "You are saying that... your father wanted you to seduce me?" he asks, flabbergasted; he cannot say he knows your father very well, but he cannot believe Oropher had tried to deceive him... and that he never realized.
👑 "He did." you admit, then adding quickly: "But as I am sure you can confirm, I have never done anything to develop what there is between us beyond a simple friendship. There is nothing I wouldn't do for the good of my kingdom and my people, and I do believe an alliance with Lindon would be beneficial; but I would never sell my body, or play with another person's feelings, whatever the reason. You are a good King, and for months you have endured my discourtesy with more grace and patience than I deserved. Since we met, I have grown to... to care for you, as well as to respect and trust you; you deserve the truth, and I don't want to lie to you anymore. I am sorry for the way I had to act, but it was the only way my father would ever accept an alliance between our kingdoms. I tried to silence my conscience telling myself it was my duty as a princess to obey the King and protect the interests of my people, but nothing of it would matter if I had to deceive you."
👑 Gil-Galad has listened to you attentively, finally understanding the reason for your disconcerting behaviour and then some. He knows he should be angry for your father's deception -and indignant: Kings are often forced to make difficult decisions and to forget honor and personal interest for the greater good, but did Oropher really want to increase his influence through his daughter's bed and body?! How could he still look you in the eyes after even just suggesting it?- and maybe hurt for the way you made a fool of him for months, but when he looks at you, remorseful but relieved you don't have to pretend anymore, he discovers he cannot be angry with you. As a King, he can respect your desire to help and protect your people through an alliance with Lindon, and it is true that you never did anything to seduce him -maybe, if you had... no, he better not even think about that- so, actually, what could he even blame you for? The desire to be a good princess?
👑 "I am not angry with you; I could never." he gently says in the end "And I thank you for being honest with me, it must not have been easy, since it is your father and your King, we are talking about. Let us forget the whole matter; it has been unpleasant for us both, and it is no use to talk about it again."
👑 You smile, humbled and full of gratitude for those words, just as your heart breaks because whatever could have happened between the two of you, regardless of your father's desires, now has vanished forever. You have seen the way the King looks at you, the genuine admiration in his dark eyes as he sees you walking in the gardens or take his hand to dismount from your horse, and against your better judgement, you had hoped that one day you could tell him the truth... that those feelings are reciprocated, and you would be proud, and so happy, to be his Queen, or even just to know that you belong to each other, in the secret of your hearts.
👑 Of course this could never be; not now that he knows the truth, not now that, knowing what you feel, his mind could even just be crossed by the suspicion that you are motivated not by your heart, but by other reasons. He welcomed you in his kingdom with all honors and for months treated you way better than you deserved, and even through your feelings are true, and deep, and sincere, you would never dare... no; the whole matter has lasted way longer than it should have, and the best thing you can do now is to free Gil-Galad, and Lindon, of your presence, to save him the memory of the humiliation he must feel. You are going to lose him forever...
👑 "Are you ready to go back? It is getting late, and Elrond must have sent every soldier in the kingdom after you." "Yes, of course. We better go."
👑 He helps you to get on the saddle, as usual, and together you return to the palace, where your friends are relieved to see you. Elrond looks at you and then at Gil-Galad, as if he could read what has happened on your faces, but the King quickly retires to his study, feeling fragile and unable to keep up appearances like never before.
👑 Later Gil-Galad is informed that you have begged to be excused from the evening banquet, citing tiredness and a terrible headache as the reasons; you are avoiding him, he thinks, out of embarassment after what you have confessed at the glade or because, an unpleasant voice whispers in his ear, because now that you don't have to pretend to... like him anymore, you can't even bear to be in his presence. He sadly retires early to his quarters, and is trying to pass the time with a scroll he has already read ten times when a soft knocking at the door informs him he has a visitor.
👑 He knows who it is even before reaching the door. He opens, finding himself face to face with you, wearing a shawl above your shift; you don't speak, you don't even smile, but in your eyes Gil-Galad understands everything he needs to, everything he had hoped and then some, everything you would never dare to say in words.
👑 Your shawl falls to the floor. Gil-Galad takes your hand and draws you inside; you move towards each other as soon as the door has closed behind you, your arms that circle the King's ample shoulders, his hands that close around your face, and finally your lips press against his in a kiss that leaves both of you breathless.
👑 His huge bed, with a canopy and many soft pillows and where no one has slept -or done anything else- by his side for so long, is in a corner of the room. He carries you there in his arms, your legs around his waist and your hands exploring the expanse of his back, and he couldn't stop kissing you if his own life depended on it; you murmur his name as he delicately lays you down on the mattress, your eyes so full of emotions you thought only existed in songs, and you are so beautiful he cannot stop looking at you, knowing that at least for this short, precious night, you are his and he is yours, beyond duty, beyond orders or titles, beyond what you would dare asking or offering. Your clothes lay forgotten in a heap on the floor. Gil-Galad joins you on the bed, naked as the day he was born, and avid and devoted you take him in your arms as your mouth finds his in a new kiss.
👑 You don't talk much, not beyond moans and growls and other sounds that are simply heavenly in Gil-Galad's mouth, using those few hours to give and take everything you can to and from each other; you barely sleep, but in the end, panting and happy, you rest with your cheek against his shoulder and his arms around your waist, feeling the adoring look the King is giving you and the sweet and possessive way his hand caresses your hips, and you pray this night never ends.
👑 Gil-Galad wakes up with your fingers playing with his hair; it is such a pleasant sensation, sensual and comforting and intimate, he could stay there the whole day, forgetting his duties and responsabilities. He turns on his side and he finds you laying on the bed, your naked body between the silk sheets, breathtaking and perfect; he smiles, and you smile back, but there is sadness in your eyes, and the King has only a moment to protect himself against the sadness you unleash with a simple sentence: "I am returning home."
👑 He doesn't ask whether you are sure of it, and doesn't try to change your mind, even though he suspects he could; everything there was to say and to know between the two of you, you said last night, and he knows that as a princess your duty is towards your kingdom and your people, and your father, even though he doesn't deserve your devotion. He doesn't deserve you. Stay, stay here with me, and I will make you happy for the rest of your days, stay and pledge yourself to me, there is nothing I wish more, I am yours already and I swear I will be worthy of this gift. Forget the alliance, forget everything else, we can be happy together, I know, because I love you, and I know that you love me...
👑 The words press against his lips, but Gil-Galad keeps silent as you silenty dress yourself; he kisses you once more, a chaste kiss on your forehead, and he is almost sure he can see tears in your eyes. "I am sorry." you whisper, and he wonders what you are apologizing for exactly, for the deception or the heartbreak you know you are inflicting on him. Either way, he doesn't resent you; how could he, when he has gifted you his whole heart?
👑 You share a very formal farewell in front of the court, both saddened and frustrated by the distance you now have to keep. "I will do my outmost to have my father agree to your terms." you promise, and you hate yourself, because there is so much more you would like to say "I promise." "I know you will, princess. I wish you a safe journey."
👑 He looks at you, immobile in front of the gate of the castle, until you disappear along the road at the head of your retinue, hoping you will turn to look at him at least once; you don't, because you have ordered yourself not to.
*****
👑 A whole year passes, a year during which Gil-Galad receives no news about you. Two ambassadors come to Lindon on behalf of King Oropher, agreeing to the alliance and developing new trade, diplomatic and military relations with the Greenwood. Gil-Galad should be satisfied, even happy, and he is; but he still misses you so much, every day and every night, as if he has lost a part of himself, and he has: leaving, you have taken his heart with you, and he knows he will think about you until the end of his days.
👑 He could inquire after you with the ambassadors of your father's court, or ask Elrond and the other friends you have made in Lindon if they have received a letter from you, but he orders himself not to: the King is proud, even too proud for his our good, and since it is you who left, you must be the one to come back, if you so wish. So he waits, hoping against all hope to see you again and ordering himself not to write begging you to return because light and joy have disappeared from his life ever since you left.
👑 Eventually, he does hear about you, from the ambassadors who, exactly thirteen months after your departure, return to Lindon as guests and delegates of Oropher for an important festival; the Princess would have been a more appropriate representative, but apparently you decided not to come. The King is walking along a corridor when inadvertently he hears the two Silvan Elves talking, discussing a recent festival that took place at Oropher's court -more opulent and elaborate than the one they have come to attend, in their opinion- to celebrate... the birth of the King's first grandchild.
👑 The ambassadors don't realize the King is eavesdropping, and it's only because Gil-Galad is quick enough to press his hand against his mouth to suffocate a scream; he remains in the corridor after the other Elves have left, his heart beating so hard it hurts for the explosion of anguish and joy that has filled it.
👑 Oropher, your father, has a grandchild, which means... which must mean... an Elven pregnancy lasts twelve months, and it has been thirteen months since you left, since you have laid together...
👑 You have had a child - with him, he is sure of it, even though you could have laid with someone else in the few weeks after your return -maybe with an intended you had had before coming to Lindon and who was happy to welcome you back home; the simple thought makes him seethe with anger- but he knows the truth: you have a child together... you have made him a father.
👑 A child. it is something he never gave much thought about, since he never thought he would desire to marry someone, but now he cannot wait to see them. Did you have a son, or a daughter? Do they look more like you, or him? Do they have his eyes? Or your smile? In any case, his heart is already full of hope and love, and he is sure you have given birth to the most beautiful child in Elvendom; he cannot wait to see them, to hold them, to have their tiny body close to his own...
👑 Thank Eru he doesn't have anything important to do for a few hours; the King locks himself in his study, and reflects, struggling with emotions that threaten to suffocate him.
👑 Why -WHY!?- haven't you told him? You had never talked about children, but didn't you think he deserved and had the right to know? Did you fear that knowing the truth, he would try and take the baby and raise them in Lindon, excluding you from their life? Or that he would use the child to force you in a relationship or even marriage? It is humiliating -do you really think that he would stoop so low? And hurt you, after what you shared?- but maybe, he reflects, you simply didn't want him to marry you because he had to, to mantain your good name.
👑 It wouldn't have been an imposition; far from it, he thinks as he immagines how it would be, the three of you as a family, a Queen and a little prince. It would be the best of future, the happiest life he could imagine, with you by his side and the fruit of your love to to raise and protect. If only you would agree, if only you would accept his hand in marriage and let him love and cherish you as you deserve, as he wants...
👑 He needs to see you; to talk to you, as soon as possible. Pride and torment forgotten, he will confess his feelings and beg you to come back to him; if Eru smiles to him, Lindon will have a Queen and a crown prince before the turn of the season. He orders to have his horse ready, and an escort of the fastest riders; in less than an hour the King is ready to go.
👑 A King travelling to another court unannounced is no small matter, but Gil-Galad confides that Oropher will not make a fuss, given the finally solid alliance between their two kingdoms... and the fact that if everything goes as it should, the King of the Greenwood will soon greet Gil-Galad as a son-in-law, as he had wished a year ago.
👑 The party reaches the castle of the Greenwood at nightfall; servants and courtiers are flabbergasted to see Gil-Galad, but they think he has come to discuss some important matter with the King - which is not wrong, after all. Oropher is not there, though; he has left in the morning for a visit to an Elflord in the kingdom and will return tomorrow. That is well, Gil-Galad thinks, because the two of you will have the time to speak privately; "I wish to speak to the princess." he states in his most regal tone, and he is soon led to the gardens.
👑  When he sees you from afar, sitting on a bench surrounded by willows and pines, the first thing he notices is that you are cradling a baby in your arms, humming softly. He stops, fascinated as if it were the first time he sees you, admiring the beautiful scene of the family he never thought he would have... and for the first time he hesitates, wondering if the happiness he has come to claim only exists in his mind. What if you have forgotten about him? What if the feelings that the two of you shared have withered in your heart, and you didn't tell him about your baby because you wanted to exclude him from your life and theirs? What if you have found someone else, someone you have given your heart to and who you want to raise your child?
👑  Gil-Galad has fought many battles, but he has never been as afraid as he is in that moment, scared to discover he has lost you before being able to fight for you. He remains immobile, wondering what to do, and it is then, not startled by a noise or a movement but having simply perceived his presence, that you lift your eyes from the child peacefully sleeping in your arms, and you see him.
👑 You stand slowly as he approaches -he is here. Why is he here? Has he come for you? But how...?- your heart bursting with emotion, joy and love and heartbreak making you unable to speak. Suddenly, all the reasons you have given yourself to leave Lindon and never come back seem so stupid and petty, and I missed you so much you are about to say, but he anticipates you.
👑  Gil-Galad cannot see clearly the child in your arms, his face covered by your hand, but love and protectiveness fill his heart as he looks at the tiny body wrapped in white cloth. Then he looks at you, even more beautiful than he remembered, and he wishes he could hate you, just a bit, because if you will refuse his proposal, he will have no other reason to live. "Why didn't you tell me?" he asks softly, and he sees confusion fill your eyes.
👑  "W-what?" "Why didn't you tell me about the baby? Didn't you think I had the right to know?" he insists, angry and wounded, and maybe the shock of seeing him when you least expected has made you unable to reason, but you really can't understand why he is so upset. "Well, I... I didn't think you would be interested..."
👑  "Not interested? You really think I wouldn't want to know you have made me a father?" he almost shouts, appalled, and that explains, if not everything, at least enough to make you understand. "You were told I had had a child?" you ask, and "Well... I heard the King had had a grandchild." he slowly answers, suddenly realizing that is not exactly the same thing "And they had to have been conceived in the period you had spent in Lindon, or immediately after you returned. But..."
👑  "I am so sorry, but... Gil-Galad, this is not your child. He is not even mine, actually; he is my nephew. This is Legolas, the son of my brother, Thranduil, and his wife."
👑  For a whole minute, before pain and disappointment can overwhelm it, the main emotion in Gil-Galad's heart is shame. How could he be so stupid? He knows you have a brother, he even met him once or twice, why didn't he think that the King's grandchild could be born through his son, as well as through his daughter? He allowed his emotions to rule him, and he stormed to the Greenwood, so sure he would return home with a bride and an heir, and the only result he obtained is to make a fool of himself...
👑  He cannot even look you in the eyes. "I am... so sorry I bothered you; I shall leave now, I won't disturb you anymore..." "You haven't bothered me; quite the opposite." you quickly answer "Wait..."
👑 You gently lay your nephew in a little cot you have created with a large sturdy basket and a blanket to carry him while you walk, then you take Gil-Galad's hand and you lead him to the bench, where you sit together. "If I really had a child with you, I would have informed you as soon as I were certain; I would never separate a father from his child." you point out, and he admits that he was wrong to doubt you, but "I think... the idea of having a child with you made me so happy I couldn't think clearly. Maybe I only wanted an excuse to come and see you."
👑 It is painful to expose his feelings like that, even with the person who evoked them in his heart, but then he sees you smile, your beautiful eyes full of tears, and that is reward enough. "My beautiful princess... I have missed you so much." he whispers, and he holds your hand in his as he kneels in front of you "I know it has been... difficult between us, that the time wasn't right and that the alliance made things unnecessarily complicated... but my feelings for you are as clear and limpid as the waters of a mountain lake. I never stopped thinking about you, not for a moment ever since you left, and I hope...  I hope you can look beyond your duty as a princess, and accept my hand in marriage. Be my bride, and I promise nothing and no one will ever come between us; marry me, and I will spend the rest of my days making you happy."
👑 It takes you a while to answer, but not because you are unsure how. You look at him, and the feelings you have tried to forget, or at least to relegate in a corner of your heart, where it would hurt less to remember what you shared, make you unable to speak for a while. "I was so ashamed for what I was sent to do." you finally whisper; you still cannot believe he is there in front of you, devout and hopeful and so handsome, with a promise and a request on his lips and the purest love shining in his eyes "I feared... you would never trust me again, and that if I ever told you how I felt, you would think I was still acting on my father's orders, or because I wanted to become Queen..."
👑 "I wouldn't have; and I would not, now. I do want you to become Queen of Lindon... and I hope marrying me is not too much of a sacrifice." he adds with his most serious expression; you laugh, and he smiles "Say yes; please, say yes, and I will never want for anything else."
👑 "Yes!"
👑 You wish you could stay there -alone with him, free to tell him everything you could not a year ago and to show him how much you missed him- forever, but you can't; your nephew needs to be changed, and you need to tell your brother, who rules at court when your father is away, that Gil-Galad has come, before he notices the twenty Lindon guards still waiting in the courtyard. He happily follows you inside, where you entrust Legolas to his nanny and ask another servant to make sure the guards are fed and housed for the night.
👑 You have always been close to your brother, and while you have never told him about the feelings you had developed for Gil-Galad and what had happened between the two of you, he has seen how broken-hearted you were when you returned from Lindon, and had suspected it had something to do with the King. Because of this, he is surprised, but not too much, when you tell him the King of Lindon has onored you with an unexpected visit; Thranduil looks at him, then at you, and wisely decides to stand back and let you take care of everything. Gil-Galad apologizes for visiting unannounced, and your brother tells him he is glad to see him... as your father will be, when he returns from his trip, tomorrow.
👑 That night Gil-Galad has dinner with you, your brother and his wife, who welcome him with open arms seeing how happy he makes you. Later, he follows you to the nursery, and smiles as he sees you bid your baby nephew goodnight. "He is a beautiful baby; and he is lucky to have such an attentive and affectionate aunt."
👑 You confess that you adore your nephew... and that you would like to have children of your own, one day. "I am sorry I... disappointed you." you add as, now standing in the corridor, you enjoy a quiet moment together, your fingers interwined with his, Gil-Galad's forehead lightly touching yours. He simply smiles. "At the moment I could not be sorry or sad even if I tried." he confesses "And we will have children, if Eru wills; maybe we shall beget one this very night."
👑 Those words, uttered with the most serious expression, make you blush furiously; just like he led you in his bedroom that night a year ago, now it is you who, holding his hand, guide Gil-Galad to your quarters, and then to your bed. "I love you." you whisper as you stand in front of him in the half-light filtering through the windows; he moans as he feels your hands caress his chest and back and shoulders, and he cannot wait to marry you and make you his Queen... and he will soon, he promises himself, as soon as your father gives you his permission, and as soon as he has shown you how much he has missed you, and that he wants to spend every night of the rest of his life worshipping you.
👑 "I love you too, my princess... my love... I want you so much... let me touch you, I need to feel your hands on me..."
👑 While your first night together was passionate, the desire between you burning like a fire as you chased your pleasure together, your second is different, equally beautiful but more intimate; you explore each other's body, sharing kisses and promises as you bond yourself in the privacy of your room before you can do it officially in front of families and friends. Gil-Galad is everything you ever wanted and even more, and you make sure he knows as you cling to his shoulders, his beautiful dark hair spread on the sheets as you move above him; he holds your hips, looking at you with awe and love, and he doesn't need words to say that he is yours - body and soul, heart and sword, he will never let you go or be content if you are not by his side.
👑 You sleep peacefully, awaking to the pleasant sensation of Gil-Galad's caresses on your back as he holds you in his arms, your legs interwined and your cheek against his chest, lulled by the beat of his heart. "Good morning, husband." you greet him, because as far as you are concerned you are already married, the way it really matters, and any ceremony or ring exchange is just a formality; he smiles, and he kisses you. "I will speak to your father as soon as he returns." he promises; the way his hands move on your body is a promise for all eternity "I want you to be my Queen as soon as we can."

The Valar help me. Can he not take a hint? Of course it had to be the one person you wanted not to speak to Hamlin. Thinking about it you figured it only made sense that he wanted to speak to you. Now you only needed to find out how this wa gonna go and what he was up to. There were really only two possible ways. Either he wanted to apologise for his rude behavior or he wanted to plague you once more and try to persuade you into his arms.
You hoped he would make the right choice here or else your fun evening out would be absolutely screwed. “Y/N” he called your name once more. You turned around gazing up at him, waiting for him to continue. “I.. I was going to apologise. I did not mean to be so awfully ill-mannered.”With that he waited for you to answer him. A few seconds passed and you let out a sigh into the fresh air. “It is fine I guess.” You kind of hated yourself for forgiving him that fast. You always had been so overly friendly and forgiving it was just a part of you. Seeing the good in everyone was something that you carried on for all your life. Your father always said it was a gift but your mother insisted that the world was not that fair and beautiful and you should learn to adept sooner rather than later. But nonetheless you kept to that and tried to make the world a better place by treating everyone equally.
You truly wanted to make clear that he was overstepping massively last time and you would have had every right to do so. “Just please never treat me or anyone else that way ever again.” At that he nodded. “So uh.. would you let me buy you a drink or no?” He scratched the back of his head. “Give me a few more minutes and I’ll come back inside. I just need a bit more fresh air.” “Alright.” He turned around and went back inside.
Thank god. You thought maybe he had learned his lesson. You decided to take a little walk for a few more minutes. The crisp night air seemed to sober you up a little and was doing wonders to your heated skin. Mithlond at night was a sight to see as well. The stars above were clear and bright. Something you adored greatly. Your feet carried you through town on a route you had not wandered before and you neared the woods. The alehouse was not far from here and you thought you could walk just to the edge of the forest and then turn around and join your friends again.
Just as you decided to turn around and head back you heard a voice calling out to you. “Aye look at that fellas we got something here.” A slimy voice rang through your ears. Followed by laughter. There must have been at least two or three there. You turned your head around to see where they were coming from.
The voices were coming from a dark alley to your right. And approaching footsteps signaled they were on their way to you. Shit You hurried to walk back to the alehouse that would be a few minutes away. They called after you “Hey no need to run away. We don’t mean any harm.” Their voices only made you pick up the pace and soon you were sprinting through the streets.
The next thing you knew was someone yanking you right back and you fell to the ground with a loud thud. Groaning you saw the silhouette of two cloaked men coming closer to your frail body lying on the ground. “I told you no need to run away from us, pretty one. Now you got what was coming to you.” The one closest to you snarled. “Stay away from me.” You warned, which made him chuckle. A disgusting sound that scared you even more. “Little bird here has no idea what she has gotten herself into.” The second one with a deep oily voice said. “Truly. Now what do we do with you.” The first one pondered. “Such a pretty face should not be wasted.” And he grabbed your elbow and pulled you up into his arms. You wriggled and tried your hardest to fight him. Many thoughts crossed your mind at once and you wished you had never left the alehouse to wander around at night alone. The streets of Mithlond you imagined were safe. Apparently you were wrong. Regret filled you and panic took over you. “Eh stop it little one. Stop fighting, you are far too weak for us.” His warm and wet breath made you feel all sorts of disgust and hatred. Kicking your feet wildly you tried everything. You were not ready to surrender. The other man was coming closer to you, fixing you with a lustful glint in his eyes.
He looked at your body up and down smiling to himself. You wanted to throw up then and there. With every step he took you tried to fight the one holding you more. When the man stood right in front of you he took your chin and made you look up into his ugly face. “You’re going to be a lot of fun.” He smirked. With that you pulled up your leg and kneed him in his crotch. The man groaned and fell to his knees doubled over in pain. The man holding you strengthened his hold on you “Oh that was a mistake. You’re a feisty one eh.” “Let me go.” You demanded but they would not listen. His friend on the ground seemed to get up again and he was angry now. He rushed towards you, slapping you across the face. “You whore. You’ll get what you deserve.” His hands started roaming over your body and you tried screaming for help. You just barely made a sound when the one holding you covered your mouth with his dirty hand.
You closed your eyes trying to just zone out of this situation when suddenly the guy groping you stopped and you could no longer feel his dirty hands on you. The arms wrapped around and the body behind you also let go of you and you opened your eyes jumping to the side. That’s when you saw an ellon with golden hair fighting off the men. He had already knocked out the one you previously kneed in the balls and was now going after the one who held you all the time. He was fleeing but seeing the young elf going after him he would not get far. They made it about 50 m when the blonde elf grabbed him and hauled him back, punching him in the face and successfully knocking him out on the spot.
You stood there in silence, not moving, just staring and watching as the handsome ellon made his way back to you. As he neared you you backed away slightly, not ready to trust him and his intentions. He stopped immediately taking in your shocked and scared figure. “Are you okay? Please, I do not wish to harm you.” He said. “That is what they told me.” You gestured to the two men on the ground fixing the ellon with mistrusting eyes.
“I am Glorfindel. Captain of the High Kings Watch. I hope these men did not harm you more than what I have seen.” He asked, concern lacing his words. “Is it ok if I come a little closer?” You hesitated but your instinct told you he was truly harmless. You nodded and he made his way over to you, keeping a distance to not startle you further. “Now would you tell me if you are okay?” He insisted. “I am fine, just a little shaken is all.” You waved him off “I’ve never experienced something like this.” You said wrapping your arms around yourself. Glorfindel took off his cloak and handed it to you. You silently took it and wrapped it around your shoulders, thankful for the kind gesture. “You should have never been exposed to that. These men were beasts. I want to apologise for my late arrival. If not me one of the guards should have been close. Seeing rogue men like that inside the city is alarming. I need to inform the King immediately.” You walked along the streets when Glorfindel asked you where you lived so he could escort you home before he had to fulfill his duty and inform the High King. You told him to bring you to the alehouse instead because your friends must be worried by now.
He was about to protest your plea when Mallahir called your name from the other side of the street a few feet away from you. He jogged over to you, holding your face to gaze into your eyes. “Bless the Valar you’re here. You had me worried sick Y/N. What happened, you look like someone punched you in the face.” He wrapped his arms around you. Only after he released you, he acknowledged Glorfindel's presence. “Glorfindel have you done this to Y/N” Mallahir wanted to know, fixing Glorfindel with a furious glare. “Of course not Mal. I was patrolling the outer streets of the city when I heard muffled voices and someone struggling. She was ambushed by two cloaked men. I was going to escort her home and inform the High King.” The Captain explained. “You were what?” Mal stared at you. “Y/N are you ok?” Your friend looked at you making sure you were not physically hurt in any way. “No I am alright Mal.” You insisted. “I am mentally shaken but I will be ok.” Mallahir watched Glorfindel. “We need to tell the High King. Fast. Who knows what else is lurking in the dark in the streets of Mithlond.” The Captain agreed. “Indeed. It is of utmost importance to tell him.” “What are you waiting for then?” You questioned. “You should get home first. Mallahir, can you escort her back home. The High King most definitely will call for a meeting so you should join us after she is safely home.” “I am alright. Besides, if the High King calls for a meeting I have to be there as well.” Glorfindel raised his eyebrows at that. He did not know you were required at court. But then again he had been away for a few months now. “Alright let’s go then.” With that you paced through the streets toward the royal part of town.
As Glorfindel said the High King commenced an emergency Meeting with his most trusted advisers. Honestly speaking you were surprised you were one allowed to be here since you were relatively new and a human at that. At first you thought it was just because you had been the victim and your side of the story was of interest to them. But even after you explained everything you were allowed to stay. The High King seemed to trust you enough and that made you feel a little proud and special. The High King sent a few guards to capture the knocked out men from the streets only to find them gone. It worried you a little that these men were still freely roaming the area somewhere and you made sure to watch out more from now on.
“Glorfindel make sure to double the Guards inside the city and on the outskirts of town. Whatever is going on needs to be stopped. This city is supposed to be a safe haven for everyone living within its walls.” He fleetingly gazed at you and turned around. “Mallahir make sure your friend is checked in the medical wing. Glorfindel I’d like to speak to you privately. The rest of you may retreat back to your quarters”
The meeting ended and Mal practically had to drag you to the medical part of the royal part. You reluctantly agreed to get checked and turned out you were alright except for some bruises and an added amount of anxiety and mistrust you would carry around for a while. On the way back to your home you and Mallahir did not speak, too lost in your own thoughts. “I am so sorry Y/N. I should have been there and I should have protected you.” Mallahir spoke, successfully distracting you from your own thoughts. “What? Mal no it was not your fault. If any one is responsible it’s me. I should have never strayed that far from the alehouse.” You added. “I guess it’s not your or my fault it’s their fault. They did this to you.” A silence fell over you until Mal decided to speak again. “Honestly I think you should get trained.” He looked at you “Just so you can defend yourself better. I mean you were lucky Glorfindel was there to help you. He is a great elven soldier but apparently not even the streets of Mithlond are safe and a little combat training might help you.” You pondered his statement. Knowing more about defensive fighting would definitely come in handy at some point or another. You were not a big fighter but you sure would like to learn one or two things about self defense. “You are right. Would you teach me?” You knew he was trained in combat. He rarely ever had to fight though. “I am probably not the right one to train you but I could ask Glorfindel if that’s alright with you. He would definitely not mind and he is a great teacher.”
It was decided then. Glorfindel would teach you the basics in combat and defense.

Cuddling Gil-Galad
Tumblr media
Request:  Can you please write a "cuddling with Gil-galad" headcanon. Freaking love your blog by the way and I always try to think of new things for when requests are open
* * *
- The plus side to wanting to cuddle with Gil-Galad is absolutely loves to cuddle with you, it is his favorite pastime.
- The downside is trying to find time to get Gil-Galad to cuddle with you.
- Gil-Galad loves cuddling in private over public, because he doesn’t want the publics unwanted opinion about what he does with his partner.
- Though that doesn’t mean he won’t wrap his arm around your shoulders to pull you in for an embrace and to hold you there momentarily.
- As much as he loves to dote on you affectionately and publicly, there are definitely some limits considering Gil-Galad’s status and what his expectations are as a leader.
- Gil-Galad won’t often do so in the mornings, as he’s very bright eyed and bushy tailed ready to go ahead and get his day started.
- So if you need that early morning dose of endorphins in the form of cuddling, you most likely won’t get them.
- You’re better off waking the two of you up early and coaxing him into it that way and not that you got him up early because he’s late for something.
- If you can manage to get up early enough to have a cuddle session with him, Gil-Galad loves the feeling of you laying your head on his chest as he wraps his arm around your shoulder and pulls you in close to him.
- He relaxes for a bit, rubbing your arms affectionately and moving to press a soft and lazy kiss to your forehead.
- Tempting you into dozing off, with Gil-Galad who will be wide awake the whole time.
- Cuddling you helps keep him calm and less focused on the fact that he might want to start thinking about readying for his day so early and reporting to his appropriate stations.
- He’ll instead take his time with you, indulging in his every second with you until he has no choice but to relinquish the session to work.
- Gil-Galad tends to come to bed late in the evenings, so it can get tricky trying to find what the appropriate time is to cuddle together at night too.
- But if you ask him or tell him that you want time to be able to spend alone with him, Gil-Galad will put in the effort to make time to cuddle and spend time 0with you in the evening.
- After a long day in court, and doing reports/papers and training physically, he is happy to indulge in a lazy and comfort filled evening.
- In all honesty this is the time of the day where you will be able to get away with him laying on you.
- After a meal and a bath, Gil-Galad loves to crawl into bed and rest his head on your chest, feeling both of your arms encircle him.
- Playing with his hair, or rubbing his back and shoulders is very welcomed and he won’t complain.
- While usually he is content with being up late into the evening with you until you fall asleep, Gil-Galad certainly won’t mind any of your attempts to get him into a state of sleeping.
- He’s fairly easy to convince at that point if that’s your goal.
- On other nights when the day hasn’t been so long and grueling, Gil-Galad loves to lay together in bed, legs and arms draped over one another.
- Facing each other as you guys tell each other about your days.
- He adores hearing about your day, how you light up, the way you smile and giggle as he makes a joke or two.
- Gil-Galad longs for those moments daily when work keeps him far too long.

Gil-galad x Female!Elf!Reader: Blanket
Tumblr media
Summary: Today you say goodbye to almost everything you’ve ever loved.
Rating/Tags: All (Pregnant!Reader; inaccurate depiction of Lord of the Rings elves; pre-Last Alliance of Elves and Men; not canon compliant)
Challenge: “160 Collective Drabbles” challenge by BobaPop on Lunaescence Archives.
Tag List: @imaginesfire
Notes: Hey, didn’t I say that I haven’t been able to get through all the supplementary lore books for The Lord of the Rings? So what’s with writing for this character that’s barely a blip in the trilogy? Well, to be honest, this was written as a replacement for the original character requested, Tyrion from A Song of Ice and Fire. I’ve got some guardian anon that always pops up whenever I tentatively agree to write anything for that series and reminds me that I don’t want to get sued. I agreed to write for Gil-galad solely because I felt bad for leaving the requester in the lurch.
Also: I haven’t seen Rings of Power and probably won’t. I don’t know if Gil-galad is a character in that (this gif seems to indicate he is), but 100% this is not canon compliant with this series. This was written sometime in 2015/2016 after reading a bunch of wiki articles about the character, so it’s probably not canon compliant at all. I mean, I know it’s not. Just don’t expect it to be consistent with the apparently not-particularly-accurate lore from the new series either.
Blanket
Through your elf eyes, war appeared to come slowly and from a great distance. Gil-galad, High King for many ages, at first kept it at bay with his wisdom. Unfortunately, war did not tire, and soon it was at your gate. Once Gil-galad and his allies struck it down. The second time, they were not as prepared.
They would ride out soon nonetheless, this last alliance of Men and Elves. A constant bustle kept everything in your kingdom moving, even as you at last fell quiet to observe. Above the sounds of stamping horses and shouted orders rose the final desperate clangs of the blacksmiths. The smells of hot metal and mud threatened to smother you. For once, the thought of leaving Arda did not seem so awful, not if this was all you had to look forward to from then on.
The mare underneath you let out a great snort. Without really thinking about it, you reached out one hand and patted her neck. That did not appear to settle your mount, and you could not really blame her. This environment did not foster patience or life. As an elf, however, your natural serenity kept the worst of your anxiety at bay to all but those who knew you best.
Just then, a clatter of hooves against the moist earth interrupted your musings. Riding toward you–with his usual contingent of guardsmen far behind–was one such person who knew you best: your husband. All it took was your meeting his eyes, and you knew that it was time. You remained still until he came to an easy stop in front of you, then bowed your head.
“My Lord.”
“[Name],” he answered, inclining his own. “Ride with me a distance.”
His horse paced quickly ahead of yours. You paused only long enough to gaze a final time at the fields of Noldor. Already they seemed torn: the earth beneath hooves, the women and children beneath fear, the men beneath battle. Some sort of emotion tingled through your breast, but what sort, you could not tell. Already you were distancing yourself from these places and these people. Only one painful parting remained.
Gil-galad did not remark upon your countenance when at last you caught up with him. Behind you rode and stopped a half-dozen armed Elves. Half, you knew, would leave after this meeting to follow your husband back and to Mordor. The other half–those that could be spared forever–would join you on your way to the Grey Lands.
For several minutes, no one spoke. Even the sounds of those readying for war seemed muffled. Gil-galad’s keen eyes settled somewhere far away, somewhere even you could not see yet. It would take a boat and several weeks travel to get there, and he would not be joining you.
When he blinked, Gil-galad returned his attention to you. “This is goodbye, [Name].”
The required words of farewell were in your throat before you swallowed them away. Now was the time to make your feelings known, if ever a time for that was there. “You know I do not wish this.”
His eyes widened momentarily before his gaze softened. Gil-galad had known you for hundreds of years; there were none left alive in Arda that knew you as well. Perhaps in the lands you had left so long ago there remained a few, but that was little comfort in the here and now. Your husband knew that you harbored no delusions of grandeur, no desire of finding glory in war. A battlefield was no place for a woman, least of all a woman in your situation.
Gil-galad’s familiar lips twisted up into a well-worn, gentle smile. Without taking his eyes off of you, he bent slightly to draw something from one of the bundles carried by his horse. At first, it appeared nothing more than a folded bit of fabric, for that was what it was. He unrolled it to reveal a blanket, common in appearance but clearly uncommon in make.
“I had it made months ago,” he explained before you could ask what he was doing, commissioning such things in the midst of all the chaos. “You ought to have it now. It may be cold on your journey, and our child may yet have need of it.”
It was a gentle reminder: Gil-galad desired to protect not only you but his unborn baby as well. Frowning, you took the blanket and spread it gracefully over your lap. Suddenly you could not bear to look at him. You placed one hand on the curve of your stomach and kept your gaze on a nearby tree.
“You realize that there is a chance you are sending away your only heir,” you said.
Again you heard hooves, then he was close enough to take your chin and carefully pull your face toward his. “You realize that if I did not, there is a chance great harm could befall him.”
Tears did not come easily to you, so you did not cry. Still you were certain that Gil-galad saw in your features the bone-deep sadness you felt over your parting. Arda was the most beautiful place you had ever lived; he was the most perfect being you had ever loved.
“And when you return, how will you provide another king?” you asked quietly.
“If this alliance succeeds,” his emphasis did not escape you, “and I survive along with it, I will not return to Noldor. I will come to you.”
“And if it and you do not?”
“Then I will see you again when all has passed, even the lands to which you are returning.”
Gil-galad allowed no time for protesting, though you no longer felt the need to do so. He was as determined in seeing you off as he had been in courting you. Another less-stifling quiet fell, and he released your chin so that he could press his forehead to yours. Ten seconds may have passed, or perhaps ten ages. Then he flicked his reigns and started up the way he had come.
As the path turned, he did as well to the remnant of warriors staying with you. “See [Name] and the child safely across the sea, and you will prove yourself every bit as brave and reliable as those that go with me.”
They bowed. Gil-galad caught your eye for a split second and was gone. You stared after him as your guards’ horses headed further down the path. Only when the last remained waiting for you to move did you set your mare on the course set before you. When the others began to sing their goodbyes, as was custom, you did not join. Just as your child would never again know the voice of its father, your lips would never again know the feel of a song.

Their love song (Taylor Swift edition) > The Rings of Power characters
a/n: welcome to my little self-indulgent celebration of 700 followers! 🥳 EVEN IF you're not a fan/don't know the songs, I hope you can still like and support this fic - a lot of time and love went into it! and by all means come talk to me about it or suggest your own songs! love you all so much and thank you for reading my stories and being a wonderful community 💕
HALBRAND ♡ cruel summer
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Please look at these lyrics and tell me it isn't just perfect for him!! You never really planned on falling for him, ever, but alas, something captivated you - his eyes looking down on you from a height difference, the way he seemed to understand you more than anyone else in certain moments, and how he was adamant to be around you. He was very cocky and confident when you admitted it at last.
ARONDIR ♡ peace
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Maybe you come from different backgrounds, but there is nothing that you wouldn't do for each other. He is very protective of you, but he is also cautious because he never wants you to be in danger because of him. Although your relationship can be judged negatively, the only important thing is what the two of you feel for one another - true love.
ELENDIL ♡ labyrinth
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Things haven't exactly been easy after his wife suddenly died, and he had mixed feelings about moving on; somehow, with you it was kind of effortless and unexpectedly natural. He struggled with it within himself for some time, but you were understanding and supportive the whole time, and he began feeling much better when he accepted his developing feelings for you.
CELEBRIMBOR ♡ lover
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Honestly, he kind of is a magnetic force, and he would also be a total romantic to his partner and spoil them in so many ways. Admittedly, he's lived through a lot of things and challenges, but ending up with you seemed like a reward at the end of everything, and he never wants to let you go.
GALADRIEL ♡ daylight
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She certainly has her struggles and her mind can be a very occupied place, so she really didn't expect to find captivating romantic love among all the mess. You bring brightness and warmth to her life like nobody else, and she lights up when she is around you, especially when the two of you are alone.
ISILDUR ♡ blank space
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He is still quite young and impulsive, and everything else that comes with it, and also naturally curious and a bit of a troublemaker - never a dull moment. When you two first met, you didn't think it would go anywhere, but quickly you fell for his reckless charm, and decided to give it a go anyways. It's a passionate and unpredictable relationship which can end at any time, but he is so wrapped around your finger that you highly doubt it.
VALANDIL ♡ sparks fly
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He is also crazy, young and exciting, but something won't let you let him go. He is aware of his strengths and he knows how to play them exactly right to keep you on your toes and crazy about him. Maybe it isn't the most stable of relationships, but hey, as long as you're having a good time!
GIL-GALAD ♡ gorgeous
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He is so royal and classy and naturally, captivated your attention within mere seconds in his presence. At first you might have been a little intimidated (who wouldn't be?) and you had mixed feelings within yourself - he surely already had someone, so you decided it would be best to wait for him to approach you. Years and years later, you both like to jokingly reminisce on those moments.
BRONWYN ♡ new year's day
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Life can be tough, and people can be difficult to deal with, but the two of you have each other's back through it all. While you have your arguments and disagreements occasionally, and maybe someone judges your relationship, at the end of the day there is nobody else that the two of you would rather share your troubles with.
ELROND ♡ you are in love
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This sweet soul had to get this song assigned to him! Your love bloomed steadily over centuries of close friendship and understanding, you shared a quiet, unspoken bond, and it was just the most natural thing ever. It eventually became difficult to pinpoint when exactly it turned into something more than platonic, because for so long it had been the two of you together, side by side.

‧₊˚. Can You Kiss Me More | Kissing the Elves‧₊˚.
Headcanons: Amrod, Amras, Turgon, Angrod, Aegnor, Gil Galad
Tumblr media Tumblr media
༉‧₊˚. Amrod — like you were made of glass.
His arms would encircle your waist while the other rested on the upper portion of your back between your shoulder blades. Lips a few inches away from yours, you could feel his breath ghosting your cheeks and causing your lashes to flutter. Your lips were moist from all the anticipation you were building in your nervousness when he stood before you with determination. Eyes darting from your lips to your eyes, he hesitated at first, testing the waters to ensure you were on board with his actions. Once he saw the gleam of eagerness in your eyes, he tenderly leaned in and planted his slightly rough lips against yours.
The first kiss was fleeting before he planted another, this time, with more vigour. His arms pressed you against his chest while yours gripped his for balance. Amrod kissed you with fiery passion, though, it did not burn. It was warm and welcoming, beckoning you for more. Your lips danced with one another as you tasted the cherry-flavoured wine on his lips and grew eager for more. There was something about him that was addicting, but Amrod was patient enough to pull away with a gentle peck. “Why don’t we continue this inside?” he breathlessly whispered.
Tumblr media
༉‧₊˚. Amras — like a cheeky lover on a summer day.
You couldn’t help but giggle as Amras's hands roamed your sides, tickling as they travelled up and down to draw all the laughter he could. Knees planted on either side of your waist as he partially sat on your legs, he hovered with his face near yours, marvelling at the beauty you were. Suddenly, there was a fleeting touch of something wet against your cheek and a grinning Amras gleaming above you. One kiss was never enough for the mischievous ginger, and you didn’t need to be told twice that he was making his rounds for another. This time, you met his halfway when his lips came down to collide with your cheek, with your lips.
Expecting him to be stunted, Amras used the opportunity to strike with his endless puppy-like kisses by grabbing your face. The more you laughed, the more playfully aggressive Amras grew with his kisses, covering every ounce of your skin with his lips. They felt like the sun kissing your skin repeatedly. The pleasures of the summer wind dancing across your skin and caressing you with utmost love and affection were endless and euphoric. Amras blessed you with his sweet kisses from your forehead to your lips. “I expect to receive my share after I’m finished here!”
Tumblr media
༉‧₊˚. Turgon — with all his undying passion he’s suppressed.
Feeling your back pressed against the soft picnic blanket, a pair of soft pillows collided with yours, filling you to the brim with passion. You could feel the tension in his movements; he’s been dying to have alone time so he could express his affections. This was the first time he ever took a step towards displaying affection in public—couldn’t call it public when you were miles away from the city. His lips moved against yours with the burning desire to make you feel his love, even his hands that cupped your face held you with might. The soft moan and sigh that escaped his mouth as the kiss progressed told you he was pleased.
Tilting your head upwards to deepen the kiss, your hands trailed to cup his face to meet you at the required angle. The action caused your lips to part and eyes to open, allowing you to witness his mirth. A smile played on his lips, swollen and plump from all the passion he was drunk on delivering. He appeared carefree like the silly young prince who fumbled with his words when he first confessed and bumped heads at your kiss. To see how he had matured and felt comfortable kissing you vigorously was a dream come through. Lifting your head to close the gap, you placed a small peck on his lips and nose before you both giggled. “I can never get tired of kissing you.”
Tumblr media
༉‧₊˚. Angrod — kisses you with desperation and hunger.
Standing at the entrance of your home, Angrod stood chest to chest with one hand around your waist and the other cupping the nap of your neck. The evening was peaceful as the sun setting in the background set the ambience while you and Angrod shared your first kiss. The air was filled with passion and desire, the desperation to finally kiss you after waiting for months. Your lips were finally locked with his, and he wasn’t wasting the opportunity to make it everlasting. Whatever space was left between you was closed when he pressed you into his chest to deepen the kiss.
Your lips moved in sync, breaking apart only to gasp for air before returning to make progress. For a moment, you felt like he was devouring your lips with small bites and nibbles. He took control and led the kiss. Occasionally, you would knock your teeth and bump your nose against each other; the action provided humour among the seriousness. Soft chuckles erupted and urged you to pull apart with reddened and plumped lips, and bliss in your eyes. The hands that held you lifted to caress your cheeks. “I can’t wait to kiss you all over again.”
Tumblr media
༉‧₊˚. Aegnor — like it’s a fairytale and a dream come true.
You felt like there were butterflies flapping in your stomach and taking you to the heavens, soaring high above the clouds and among the stars. Your stomach was performing cartwheels and tumbles the moment Aegnor’s lips meshed with yours and his hands cradled your face. He treated you as though you were made from the finest gems in all of Arda. The way his lip moulded against yours appeared like a perfect sculpture chiselled out of marble. They were soft and pillowy the more they moved against yours, only breaking apart to kiss at a new angle because one kiss wasn’t enough. The more he kissed, the more you felt yourself being transported.
The little hitches in your breath, when he nibbled on your lips before planting a kiss, felt playful. It was a sign that he was ready to break the kiss and litter your entire face in abundant affection. He always doted on you as if you were a lost treasure, most precious and rare, deserving of all the love he held in his heart. A kiss to your nose, followed by one to your forehead, he took the opportunity to bring you into a sudden dip and ended the last one on your lips. There was an air of charm and innocence as the moment became tranquil—just staring into each other’s eyes and basking in all the unspoken words he wished to say. “Perfect.”
Tumblr media
༉‧₊˚. Gil Galad — with an air of playfulness and youth.
For the entire day, no matter how much you complained about it, your loving husband found it best to annoy you with treaties of kisses for everything you were doing. Whether you had made a correct statement at court or won an argument against a court official, he would lean down a litter kisses on your face. You could be walking by and decide to greet him, he’ll pull you in for a kiss or perhaps, adjusting the collar of his robes, he’ll distract you. It didn’t matter what you were doing, kisses were your payment for all you had done for him. A way of your King saying, ‘I love you’ and ‘thank you’.
He has you sandwiched between him and the mattress, hands pinning you to the bed, and lips scattering hundreds of kisses. Your neck, collarbones, upper chest and face weren’t free from the slaughter he chose to brutally attack with. It was all because you decided to take care of him with lunch—he tended to blow things out of proportion—he desired to return the favour. Loving the giggles and ignoring your pleas to let you go, Gil Galad continued to deliver his mountain of love, knowing that you secretly enjoyed every minute. “Stop squirming around my love and let me shower you with my affections!”

Hi dear Meg! I'm so glad I found someone who writes for TROP ♡
I truly love elrond, this sweet boi, and really enjoyed your writings for him (: at first I was quite careful since I see lotr!elrond (almost) entirely as a dad and not as a romantic option, mostly because if him, Celebrían and their children but honestly they seemed to have killed off Celeborn so... no Celebrían? XD
Anyways, it may surprise you but I wanted to ask, if you're writing for Gil-Gaddy too? Uhhh, I already loved him in lotr and god forbid me from telling anyone about my tiny crush on Mark Ferguson haha XD
If yed, I'd love to ask for a Gil-Galad x fem!oc 💕 I'm quite the sucker for opposite looking couples, so oc with ash blonde/silver hair? And size difference? Hod I love tall men haha
Maybe she's the daughter of oropher, visiting Lindon.
And... yeah... I wouldn't be mad (absolutely not) if you include some smut? Intense and passionate is my favorite if someone asks hehe
Much love to you ♡
Maddie
Maddie!!! Thank you so much for this request! I must admit I don't know Gil-galad's character really well, but I tried my best! I've got a short but sweet married couple facing the in laws fic for you! As for smut, since I don't know his character I didn't add any, but I recommend the wonderful @starlady66 who has a more than a few Gil-galad smuts on her blog!!!!
The Queen's Father
Tumblr media
You opened your eyes, humming contently as lithe fingers combed through your ashen hair.
“My love, we must meet the others for breakfast.” Gil-galad’s steady voice, raspy from sleep, filled your ear as he pressed a kiss to your cheek.
“You are the High-King, you can miss a breakfast.” You groaned, throwing an arm over your eyes.
He chuckled, the sound deep and rich, vibrating in your bones. “Yes, but your father will be there, and I fear he still looks upon me with disfavor.”
You removed your arm and sat up, fixing your husband with an annoyed look. “My father is a fool if he is still upset that we married, his daughter is queen, what more could he want?”
You weren’t annoyed with Gil-galad, never with him, but with your father, who was still upset you hadn’t married the son of his closest friend.
Gil-galad kissed your temple. “I do not know, but we shall face his ire together.”
You sighed and slipped from your bed, dressing quickly and smiling at your husband in the mirror. He always towered over you, it made you feel safe and protected.
You took his hand and pressed it to your lips after he placed your circlet upon your head. “I will never let you face him alone.”
You strode hand in hand down to breakfast, where your father was waiting, along with a few other elflords and ladies. You greeted your father, then took your seat next to your husband.
As everyone began eating, you started to relax. Perhaps your father would not make a scene this morning.
“Gil-galad, I must ask you, why does my daughter look so exhausted. Are you running her ragged because you cannot perform your duties without the aid of others?”
You all but slammed down your drink and leveled a glare at your father.
Your husband was much calmer. “Perhaps y/n seems so tired because she works so diligently in her own duties as queen.” He took a sip of his drink. “Though I do not see this exhaustion, she looks as radiant as the day we married.”
“Thank you, dear husband.” You said, smiling at him, and intertwining your fingers with his. “Gil-galad is right, Ada, I have tired myself out in service of our people.”
Your father grumbled but backed off, and Gil-galad gave you a soft smile.
“How is Ambe? I noticed she did not make the trip with you.”
“Your ambe is well, she was preoccupied with the birth of your niece.”
“A girl, how lovely.” You said, a bright smile on your face. You would have to send your brother’s family a gift of congratulations soon.
“We shall send a gift, for the child and her mother, soon.” Your husband declared, reading your mind.
Your father’s expression softened. “That would be most welcomed.”
Breakfast was cleared, and you promised your father you would walk with him.
“I will return as soon as I see him to his quarters.” You promised your husband, going up on your toes to kiss him.
He chuckled and bent down, so you could reach him, and connected your lips.
Kissing Gil-galad was always a breathtaking experience, his skilled lips and pleasant taste always brought heat to your face and caused your heart to race. He pressed a soft kiss to the corner of your lip before righting your circlet and releasing you to your father.

Feeding the king
Gil-Galad x reader
*****
Imagine being a lady at the court of Lindon, who harbors secret feelings for her King.
You are friends with his valet, and one evening they mention that he's often in his study late, busy with paperwork, letters and the drafting of new laws.
You can imagine how unpleasant that can be, even for a strong and wise (and tall, and handsome, and with those broad shoulders, long and shining dark hair, and that deep and musical voice that makes you shiver in such a pleasant way) Elf like him, and while you can't help him, since the only talents you can boast are as an embroiderer and an harpist, maybe there is something you can do...
Like making sure he is fed. Maybe it is presumptuous, maybe you will bother him and nothing more... Still, that doesn't stop you, and one evening you knock at the door of the King's study, holding a tray with some light but nutritious food, and a chalice of his favourite wine.
"May I come in, your Majesty?"
"My lady, it is a pleasure. What are you doing here?" he asks, corteous but openly surprised to see you.
"I apologize for disturbing you as you work, but you have been here since late morning, and I thought you would appreciate a little food."
"Oh... Well, it is very kind of you. Do you want to sit?"
You have met many times at court, but this time, in this moment... it is like he is seeing you properly for the first time, like a book he has owned for years before he decided to read it.
You acconsent with a curtsy, and you spend a few minutes talking about the imminent visit of a delegation from the Greenwood, and some new music pieces you have learnt, as he eats and drinks with evident pleasure. In the end you take your leave, otherwise the King will never conclude his work.
You tell him there is no need, but he insists to walk you at the door, the gentlemanly thing to do. "It was very thoughtful of you to come, my lady. No one had ever done anything like this for me".
You answer, but saying what, you have no idea, because for the first time the King is smiling at you, his attention focused on you and his hand gently pressed against the base of your back.
"Goodnight then, Aran nin" you say in the end, finally recovering your wits, and he smiles at you one last time before closing the door.
You can't help giggling to yourself as you return to your quarters; he appreciated the gesture, you are sure of it, and maybe not just because he was hungry. Maybe you could do it again, not so often to actually bother him, but enough to make an impression on him. You are sincerely worried for the King, whose duties and heavy responsibilities would take a toll on anyone, even him, especially if he doesn't feed himself properly, but would it be so wrong of you to wish to spend some (private) time with the Elf who has captured your heart?
It would not; at least, the interested party doesn't seem to think so.
In the next months, a tacit routine is established between the two of you; once every six or seven nights, you ask your friend the valet (who are the only witness of the whole affair, but approve and therefore keep their mouth shut) whether the King is working in his study, and since the answer is almost always yes, you take a tray and bring it to him. You soon learn to recognize his favourite foods and drinks, and choose them accordingly in the kitchens.
He is always happy to see you, maybe not only, you hope in the privacy of your heart, because your visits allow him to take a break from his work. As he eats, you talk; you doubt your life can be of some interest for him, but the King always seem happy to hear of your days, and of your opinion on various matters. On his part, he is full of interesting stories: he never touches sensitive matters, of course, things no one except he and his closest advisers should know, but at the same time he talks to you way more freely than he would with many courtiers.
You tacitly decide to tell no one about your meetings; in the end, you are an Elf maid meeting the King in secret in his quarters by night, and you both know perfectly how the situation could be... misunderstood, in the eyes of someone who doesn't know that absolutely nothing inappropriate is happening between you and the King.
(Unfortunately, a voice in your ear whispers.)
So, that innocent relationship remains a secret between you and Gil-Galad. If you meet during the day, at a banquet or in the gardens, surrounded by dozens of other Elves, he is polite, distant, formal; but a light in his deep dark eyes when they meet yours betray amusement at that little farce you are forced to continue so that no one suspects.
When you visit him, he smiles. He relaxes. He even laughs. He looks at you like you are the only elleth in Arda. And you... you fall even more deeply in love with him than you were before, so much that your heart beats like a drum every time you meet him.
That those regular meetings have influenced Gil-Galad's feelings as well as yours doesn't even cross your mind, but so it is. He is used at people fawning over him, trying to gain his favour for various reasons, but no one before has ever cared for him like you do, out of worry for his health and of pleasure of his company. Soon, your visits are the moment he looks forward the most, and when one night (you are both at a banquet, and he is looking at other Elves doing what he suddenly wishes he could: openly talk to you, enjoy your full attention, and take your hand to lead you in a dance) he realizes he has developed feelings for you, it is already too late to deny or to repress them; he is in love, for the first time in his long life... and he has no idea what to do.
Do you feel the same, or is your interest only due to kindness and friendship? And would you be able to love him for him, not as a King to respect and obey, but as an equal partner? These are the questions that keep the King awake at night, so much that one evening, after your brought him your usual tray, you take the liberty of saying:
“You seem tired, my lord; is something wrong?”
He smiles weakly at you, feeling like he is little more than a child too shy to express his feelings. Eru preserve him, your kind smile and preoccupied eyes are enough to make him falter. “I confess I have been... pensive, for a while, with a certain matter I cannot find a solution for”.
“Oh, I wish I could help you... but maybe your advisers, or lady Galadriel...”
You are sitting in front of each other at his desk, and your hand is laid on the top, so close to his, and he would give everything to just take it, but he can’t...
“It is, I fear, a problem I need to solve by myself. But your very presence is such a balm for my fëa” he says in the end, smiling at you “I... cannot express how much these moments mean to me; I am very grateful to you, and for the pleasure of your companionship.”
You are alone in the vast, stately room, the deep darkness of the night barely illuminated by a few candles in the corners. Many months have passed since your first visit, and while you still feel shy in the King’s presence, not daring to hope he shares your feelings, you are happy for the closeness that has grown between you... as long as it can last.
“You mustn’t thank me, my lord. I must admit... I enjoy these moments with you as well. Maybe... more than the time I spend with anyone else” you confess in the end; it is an extremely daring thing to say, but when your eyes meet the King’s, suddenly you don’t feel bashful anymore “In fact...”
He stands up. “Yes?”
“In fact, I wish I could spend all my time with you. Talking, walking, even simply sitting next to each other; I couldn’t imagine a better way to spend my time. I just wish to be with you.”
In the years to come, you will never really understand who or what gave you the courage to speak like that, with your heart, openly and sincerely, but one thing is certain: you do not regret it. The King is now in front of you; he offers you an hand to help you stand up, and he hold both of yours in his, and for a few moments -you wait barely daring to breathe, your heart in your throat- it seems like he is searching for the right words.
He doesn’t find them.
So he kisses you.
Gil-Galad’s kiss is... like him: intense, strong but gentile, tasting like red wine and dew at dawn; he hesitates just for a moment, ready to stop as soon as he realizes you are unconfortable, but the moan of pleasure that escapes from your lips reassures him that nothing he is doing is unwelcomed - quite the opposite. You are caressing his neck with your hand, letting the other move in his shining dark hair, while his strong arms hold you by the waist, your body pressed against his, his touch sensual and possessive, and his tongue has met yours in a dance that has no name and doesn’t need to be taught, and the sensation is so delicious, so heavenly and physical at the same time, that you forget everything that is not just being in his -not your King, not in this moment, but your beloved- arms.
“Don’t let me go” you whisper in his ear; you feel, more than hear, him smile.
“Never.”
In the end, when you separate, you are both smiling; Gil-Galad takes your hand again and kisses it devoutly; quietly, he proposes on outing for the next day, a ride just the two of you in a lovely part of the kingdom, and maybe a walk in the woods.
You gaze at him adoringly; you love his voice, and you love the way it makes you feel. You had never thought a simple concern for his health would lead you here, but maybe it is true that good deeds are rewarded, sooner or later.
“I would love to, your majesty.”
“Please; I think we are beyond titles, you and I. You know my name, and I would really love you to call me that.”
“I will” you promise; you cannot wait to kiss him again “I will, Gil-Galad.”

“What do you know about basic combat?” Glorfindel asked. Not even a week passed and Mallahir annoyed you enough that you went looking for the Captain of the Watch and planned a date for your first sparring lesson. So here you were, standing in front of the blonde ellon who apparently was the greatest warrior who ever lived. He raised an eyebrow when you took a while longer to answer him. “Well I know exactly nothing. I have never had to fight you see. My dad would never teach me since I was a girl and not a boy.” “Foolish.” The blonde said. “That is just one more reason for you to learn how to fight. Or at least defend yourself properly.” You sighed. You knew he was right but it never occurred to you that you might be in danger at any given point. It was just never taught to girls and you never asked anyone to teach you. “Of all the creatures in this world I am going to have to tell you, you are the weakest. I mean you’re a human. A woman at that. I am not trying to offend you but of all races and genders you are the easiest prey. You are small, not so strong and generally just not built for fighting. But fortunately there is a lot we can do about that.”
“For the beginning I am going to try to attack you ok. And you try to fight back ok. So I can see where you are at the moment.” You nodded and got ready, fists raised in front of you. Glorfindel moved swiftly towards you trying to attack you while looking at you. You moved out of the way the first time and tried to hit him when he recovered from his first attempt just to catch your arms mid-air and swing you around so he could wrap his arms around your body and hold you.
“Not bad actually for the first try.” He released you again and told you to attack him this time. “If you can hit me once I’ll buy you a drink after.” He winked at you. His gorgeous smile that followed made you blush slightly and you lunged forward trying to hit him in the face so he would not see your red cheeks. Again he moved out of the way with little to no effort. You kept swinging again and again but you never even got close to hitting him.
Eventually you got a little frustrated. “Can you just stand still for once.” You exclaimed a little out of breath.
“Why? Do you want me to buy you a drink that desperately?” That earned him another swing you sadly missed. “You are unbelievable.” He just laughed. He stopped you after a good minute and told you to just stand there and listen to him.
“I see from our little fight here that you have an excellent fighting spirit. Unfortunately you lack the strength , speed, stamina and really just tactics and strategy. So I am going to teach you the basics first. We’ll start with your stance.” He motioned for you to copy him. “You need to stand like this. Legs spread a little so you won’t lose balance. Bend your knees a little. It’ll help you a lot.” You copied him and when he was done correcting he continued. “Good and now you want to turn your body slightly to the side. You want to minimize the attackable target. But never lose sight of your surroundings ok.” You nodded and listened to him. He explained and corrected you for the rest of the afternoon. He tested you every now and then and it was beginning to exhaust you. So you were grateful when Elrond came to interrupt since you were already feeling your muscles beginning to hurt. You would come back to the training grounds the next day and the day after that Glorfindel insisted. You got along well. His open flirty side was something you had a lot of fun with and he knew it. It was no harm done and it actually helped you to loosen up a little. It was not uncomfortable at all and he was actually very proud when you left the training grounds that day.
You followed Elrond back to the Kings Halls. He said you were needed there and you wondered why. It made you nervous and he must have sensed it. “No need to worry Y/N you did not commit a crime if that’s what you’re thinking about.” He said when he stopped and turned around. “Oh but what is it then my Lord?” “Y/N please just Elrond.” You nodded and he smiled. “I have to leave soon. In a few days I will be traveling to Eregion. I need someone to take up my work for the High King when I am there.” Your eyes widened and your mouth fell slightly open. “Oh no do not worry Y/N you are the best person for this job.” He walked closer to you and put his hand on top of your arm. “You know best how everything works here and I trust you.” He reassured you. “Elrond, no , I am not ready for this. How would I know what to do? What if I mess up? I doubt the High King would have mercy on me like you did.”
Your horrified face disliked Elrond greatly and he searched for your eyes. “Y/N listen to me. I am sure you will not mess up. You’ve practically been doing everything that needs to be done for the last weeks already. Sometimes you’ll have to run an errand for the King and you have to be ready at his request at all times but I assure you he is a noble Elf and a good King.” You gulped moving your hand through your hair combing it back. “I have already informed the King and he accepted so you do not have to worry about it.” “Oh.” Was all you could muster. Your mind was speeding from all the things that could go wrong to how you would probably embarrass yourself to the point that you could no longer look into the High King's eyes. Not that you could look into his eyes now they were far too intense for you so you would look away after a few seconds already. Elronds voice brought you back from your wandering mind “Come on now. Gil-Galad is waiting and even though he is a patient King you best not let him wait too long.”
When you walked into the great Hall the High King sat in his throne patiently waiting for you to walk across the room. With each step you took you could hear the adrenaline rushing in your veins. Why were you so nervous? You stopped a few feet away from the High King and bowed your head.
“My King I have brought Y/N. She has acknowledged what I have informed her of and she agrees to be my substitute.”
The High King moved in his throne and spoke “Y/N do you agree to not tell anyone about matters at court. Conversations are to be kept secret and confidential information is not to be spoken of.” He gazed at you seriously.
“Yes High King. My mouth is shut and I am loyal to you.” You exclaimed.
The High King raised from his seat and walked down the steps. His golden robes billowed in the wind when he descended to your level. “Very well then. I expect you to keep your word.” With that he walked past you to what you assumed were his quarters.
The following morning you met up with Glorfindel again and he taught you how to swing a good fist. The day after that he taught you how to free yourself from someone's grip using your elbow, knee or head. You managed to elbow Glorfindel once and it made you incredibly happy. Glorfindel praised you and everyday you got a little better in combat.
When Elrond left Mithlond to travel to Eregion you knew you were going to have a hard time. You were still not sure why you felt this weird unfamiliar feeling when you were close to the High King but now you had to spend time with him. You could no longer leave the room aor go the other direction when he was there. It was part of your job now to talk to him. Report to him or run around the city to deliver a message if he requested you to do it.
Thankfully he kept interaction between you to a minimum. You imagined he did not fully trust you because of your human heritage and was not ready to let you get too close in case you would turn out to be a traitor. You would do minor jobs for him every now and then, tell him different things going on around town and every now and then ask about humans in what you figured was to understand how the human towns worked and how they lived. Surprisingly you did not find him to be as complicated as you first thought. Elrond was right he was a good King. Great you would even say. He made good decisions and never selfish ones. He put the needs and wants of his people before his own and that earned him great respect from you. He never spoke too much, just a few words every now and then but when he opened his pretty mouth he could either destroy you or praise you in a few words only. Did you just think of his mouth as pretty again?
About a week passed and you found yourself once more on the training grounds with Glorfindel trying to catch you. You learned fast and managed to use most of his previous advice now which made it significantly harder for him to catch you and you both had a lot of fun during your lessons. The training grounds were loaded with ellons and elleths all working on their fighting skills. Most of them with bow and arrow but some with swords. You and Glorfindel were the only ones fighting hand to hand. So usually you would have many onlookers watching you move around. The elves were excited to see their beloved Captain fight since he seemed to be a legend in their world. You dodged one of his attacks using his weight to your advantage and shoved him back. He regained his balance quickly and ran right into you. You reacted quickly and put your weight to your feet so he would not knock you off the ground which he ultimately still did. You wrestled around a little for a while when he managed to pin your arms on your back and press you towards his body so you were trapped. “Got you” he smiled cockily. No way you were ready to give up so easily. You quickly leaned forward and kissed him just long enough for him to loosen his grip on you so you could knock one of his feet off the ground so he was lying on the ground still stunned by what just happened. The watching crowd cheered and laughed and only then you realized how many had seen that interaction between the two of you.
Glorfindel got up and laughed loudly now. “That was not fairplay” he told you. “No it was not. But you told me I had to use whatever I have. Besides, a young woman against an elf is hardly fair I would say.” You countered. “You are a fast learner I see. Good job.” Glorfindel threw his arm around you and led you away.
One pair of eyes followed you closely. The elven King did not know why he felt so angry at what he had just witnessed. He did not know where that feeling came from but he did not like how it seemed to control him. He turned around and walked back to the confines of his Quarters.

Let's talk about deep-throating the elves and what their reaction would be. not that I have a list or anything and i totally didn't write this instead of sleeping
Celeborn: definitely gets off on seeing his partner go down on him. he likes to be teased but he definitely has his limits. taking him all the way would make him growl, and seeing his partner like that makes him damn near feral. hope his partner is ready to get railed.
Elrond: he's cautious but open to ideas. he definitely wants to make sure he isn't hurting his partner. taking him all the way makes his hand tighten in his partner's hair. some of the control would probably slip and he would swear. would be more interested in making his partner orgasm/making love after the fact.
Thranduil: adores his partner deep-throating him. there's something so arousing for him watching his cock disappear down their throat. cannot get enough of it, but always puts the control in his partner's hands. throne sex? throne sex.
Gil-Galad: 10/10 favorite place to be at his desk, watching his partner go down on him. 12/10 if he's still working and it gets to the point where he can't focus or can't keep quiet about it. deep-throating him? if cock-warming him with their mouth hasn't made him completely mindless, then deep-throating him will. he's an elf of high praise and loves complimenting his partner while they do so. expect to be spoiled.
Glorfindel: obsessed. loves the sight of his partner going down on him. he's been known to lose control but he would never willingly hurt his partner either. he might be the sunshine elf but nothing quite gets him all riled up and feral like his partner deep-throating him. will take it anywhere he can get it too (Erestor has lost count of how many times he's seen far too much)
I woke up to this, that you so much for this gift🙏
