“Please, so fucking big” you whimper as your boyfriend tugs on your hair and licks the curve of your spine. He halts his thrusting to growl something in your ear but he’s inside you so deep you can’t even hear him. You feel his heartbeat pulsing inside his cock from inside of you and it makes you moan deep. His hand releasing your hair to find its way to your throat, he softly squeezes. Your eyes roll to the back of your head as you can finally make out his words.
“You can take it, baby” he rolls his hips and you finally push back into him. “That’s it, such a good girl for me ey” he groans. He starts pounding faster as you beg him for release. “Please I need to- I need to” you whimper as you can feel your orgasm approaching.
“Cum for me baby, cum all over this big cock”

denial [embry call]

“Okay.” You yawned, stretching as much as you could while laying in bed before reaching over to plug your phone in on the dresser. “I’m going to sleep.”
You and Embry had been laying in bed for only a few minutes, checking in on your phones one last time before retiring for the night. The both of you had to work in the morning and the sooner you went to sleep, the more well rested you would be at work.
You rolled over, tucking the blanket under your chin and had just closed your eyes when you heard your boyfriend clear his throat. “Excuse you?”
You peeked an eye open, turning your head slightly to look at him. “Excuse you?”
“Where’s my kiss?”
“Who’s says you get one?” You teased, giggling lightly when you saw him raise his eyebrows.
“You always give me a kiss before bed.” His lips turned into a pout and you had to smile at him. Sometimes it was fun to mess with Embry.
You rolled back over, closing your eyes. “You missed your chance. Goodnight.”
You smiled again when you heard his phone click off and ducked your head under the blankets when he began to move towards you. Embry’s fingers poked into your sides and you laughed loudly, not expecting him to tickle you. “That’s cheating!”
He only laughed in reply, taking one hand away from your side to try and pull down the blanket. You turned your head to the mattress, determined that you wouldn’t give up that easily.
“Just one kiss and I’ll leave you alone!”
“Never!” You shouted back.
Embry stopped then, moving back to his side of the bed. “Fine then. I’ll never try to kiss you again.”
You smiled to yourself, deciding it was finally time to end Embry’s misery. You rolled over, uncovering your face and lifting your lips to his. You gently kissed the side of his face, his nose, and finally his lips. “You give up too easily.”
“Nah.” He grinned. “I just knew that would make you cave.”
You rolled your eyes at him, giving him the opportunity to press one more, longer kiss to your lips. “Goodnight, my love.”
With a smile, you pressed one more kiss to his lips before turning back to your side. “Goodnight.”

Truth | Embry Call Oneshot
For the longest time, it had always been Jake, Quil, Embry, and (Y/N). The four of them had been friends since their childhood and had quickly become inseparable. If one was in sight, the probability that the other three were close behind was high. The group was simply thick as thieves.
But there were two in particular that grew closer than the others.
(Y/N) and Embry seemed to gravitate toward each other. Even when the four friends were together, the duo would be standing side-by-side. They understood each other in a way that Jake and Quil did not. Even without words, they could speak a language that no one else could understand.
“You guys should just get together already,” Jacob had teased one day. “I mean, we all know it’s gonna happen sooner or later. Any day now you’ll tell us you’re a couple.”
“Oh please, Jake,” Quil laughed. “These two would be single their whole lives before they admit they like each other.”
(Y/N) had thrown pieces of popcorn at them, chuckling dryly at their statements. “We’re just friends, guys,” she retorted. “With that logic, you and Quil should get together too.”
“It’s just a joke, (Y/N). There’s no need to get so pissed.”
“I’m not,” she quickly defended. “It’s just annoying that you guys bother us so much about it.”
At that moment, Embry walked into the living room. He was quiet, as always, but vigilant. His eyes fell quickly onto (Y/N)’s. He could tell in an instant that something —more like someone— had made her feel embarrassed.
“Guys, leave her alone already,” he quickly defended. “Can we not go one night without you guys bothering her?”
“You don’t even know what happened!” Jake whined. “You always take her side.”
“Well, 99% of the time you guys did actually do something to her,” Embry responded. “And I would bet everything I have that it’s not a 1% kind of occasion.”
Quick and Jake slouched into the sofa, crossing their arms over their chests in defeat. Even though they were all similar in age, there was a sense of maturity in Embry that was unparalleled. At the end of the day, he was the voice of reason within the group.
“There we go again. Her knight in shining armor,” Jake grumbled. “And they say they don’t have a thing for each other.”
After the movies were done, Quil had long gone, and Jake mumbled something about going to bed, Embry offered to walk (Y/N) home. It was something he had accustomed to doing but it still made her stomach do a turn on itself.
“So, what were those idiots talking about?”
“The usual,” she sighed. Her hand was inches away from his. A simple stumble and she could have intertwined them. “How one day you and I will become a couple because of how well we get on.”
“Oh,” he said coyly.
“I know I should be used to it by now, but it can get pretty annoying, pretty fast.”
Embry’s heart started to race as he listened to her words. He knew just how infuriating their friends could be, especially when it came to bothering people. But it only upset him because he did like her.
At some point in time, his best friend had turned into the girl that he loved. She had become the protagonist of all of his fantasies, the reason for having a smile on his face, what he looked forward to every day. Somehow, she had become his center.
“Why do you find it annoying?” Embry managed to croak out, suddenly finding his hands more interesting than the road ahead. “Like would it be that terrible?”
“No,” she answered quickly. The last thing she wanted was for him to think she was repulsed by him. Because all she wanted was him.
Much like Embry, she didn’t know when that shift had happened. He was her best friend, her closest confidant, the only person that knew her better than she knew herself. But somewhere along the line, her heart would flutter at his nearness, a smile painted on her face at the mention of his name, her eyes trailed to his in every room they were in.
“I don’t, uh. I don’t think it would be terrible,” she spoke meekly. “Do you?”
They stopped in their tracks, finally facing each other.
“I could never find being with you terrible,” he said, his voice barely above a whisper. With a surge of bravery, his hand lifted to her face, tucking a strand of loose hair behind her ear. “It would honestly be a dream come true.”
(Y/N) gasped quietly at the sudden touch. Her breath hitched in her throat and her hand flew to grasp at his forearm. “Embry, w-what… what’re you saying?”
“I like you, (Y/N), and I have for a long time,” he told her. His brown eyes stared intensely into hers, looking for any sign that he was losing her. “I’m not sure when it happened but one day you slipped into my head and you have not left it since. That’s why it doesn’t bother me. Because deep down I’ve always hoped that day would come.”
“Embry, I…” She stammered searching for her words, but nothing came out.
“I understand if you don’t feel the same way,” he said sadly. “But I had to tell you already. It’s been eating me up inside for a long time and I had to confess before it consumed me completely.”
“No, Embry, I do,” she choked on her words, feeling the knot in her throat tightening as she spoke. Even if he was saying exactly what she had wanted to hear, emotions overwhelmed her. “God, I like you too. For a while now. I just never had the courage to say anything because I didn’t want to lose your friendship. You mean a lot to me.”
“So we’ve been tip-toeing around each other for no reason then?” Embry laughed. “Are we seriously that oblivious to feelings?”
“It appears so,” she responded with a chuckle. “What does this mean for us, Em? Where do we go from here?”
“Well, first, I was thinking I could kiss you,” he smiled. “Can I?”
“I would die if you didn’t.”
His hands cradled her face softly, his thumbs caressing over the apex of her cheekbones. He nuzzled his nose against hers, teasing her lips with his. He ghosted over the pink of her skin, wishing to the gods that he wasn’t in another one of his dreams.
When he finally gave in, his lips crashed into hers and he could swear he felt the earth around him stop. There was no gravity, no air, no cold or warmth, it was simply him and (Y/N), and that was all that existed on Earth.
“What’re we gonna tell the guys?” (Y/N) said as soon as they parted for air. “They’ll never let us live this down. And, honestly, I don’t think I could stand their pestering once they know they were right.”
“We don’t have to tell them,” he responded, intertwining his hand with hers comfortingly as they continued their walk to her home. “We can have this just for ourselves for the time being. It will be our little secret.”
“As much as I would love to shout it from the rooftops,” she smiled brightly. “But I like this too. Having something that is just for us. Something they can’t ruin.”
“That does sound great, actually.”
“Good. Because I don’t want anyone to ruin this. Especially not those two.”
And for a couple of months, it was perfect. To their friends, it was business as usual. They were as friendly as ever, always by each other’s side, and taking Quil and Jake’s teasing with a grain of salt. No one could have known just how true their jokes had become.
They got around with stolen glances, hidden corners, and nights. And how they loved their nights. They would spend hours curled up in each other’s arms after Embry would sneak into her room. They would talk about nothing and everything, they would sleep, and they would kiss.
It was an easy routine to follow and they fell into it quickly and perfectly. In the morning, they were the best of friends. At night, they were falling more and more in love.
At least, that’s what (Y/N) had thought.
She had fallen for him. Deeply. He meant everything to her and she thought the feeling was mutual. But when the first week of the second semester of their junior year came to a start and Embry had disappeared, she knew something was wrong.
Not only had he missed school, but he also had completely iced out Jake, Quil, and, most importantly, (Y/N). He wouldn’t answer her calls, he stopped coming over, and he was nowhere to be found. Even his mother had told her that he wasn’t acting like himself and she was very surprised at his behavior.
What none of them knew —what she didn’t know— was that Embry was going through the most surreal of transformations. He wanted to tell his friends, he wanted to tell her everything.
Yet, bringing them into a world where the stories the elders told around the bonfire were real was something he could not do. Even if it meant that they never talked again, he would make sure to keep them safe from the dangers they did not know were real.
He did everything he could to avoid (Y/N) specifically. He would never say it, or even think it now, but he was scared he’d do to her what Sam had accidentally done to Emily. Love wouldn’t protect her from what he was and what he could do to her. Avoiding her hurt, but not as much as it would if he did anything to her.
But that Friday, after he had missed a whole week of school and he’d expertly avoided his group of friends for the past four days, everything had changed. As Embry walked the halls, careful not to run into any of his three friends, his eyes caught hers.
That’s when it happened. The moment that changed his entire world. It hadn’t been meeting his friends, it hadn’t been his first kiss with (Y/N), and it hadn’t been his first phase as a shapeshifter. It was the universe telling him that it was her, and it would always be her.
And it scared him.
As she tried to move through the sea of students to get to him, all he could do was run away. Though deep down he hoped it was her once he knew what imprinting was, his fears of repeating history had grown.
“Embry!” He heard her call out. “ Embry, wait!”
But he was already out the doors and running to the only place he could think of. His brain was going a million miles a minute and his heart was tugging at his chest, begging to be with the piece that was missing from it.
He opened the door to the small house, hoping anyone was inside. His breathing was staggered and his chest was hammering. He was panicking and had no idea how to make it stop.
“Woah, Embry,” Sam called out. “I’m gonna need you to calm down, okay? You’ve gotta breathe, Call. Breathe.”
“She’s… and I didn’t… I don’t,” he tried to speak.
“Slow down, Embry.”
“I can’t… I can’t do this to her,” the boy managed to croak out. “Not her.”
“Is this about you imprinting today?”
“How did you…?”
“Mind link, Embry,” the alpha reminded him. “I know everything that happens to you. Who is she?”
Embry sighed deeply, taking a seat at the dining table. “She’s my best friend,” he said. “And these past few months she became so much more.”
“She’s your girlfriend then?”
“Well, we never labeled it as much,” he responded. “But kind of. Yeah.”
“Then why are you so worried? This is the best-case scenario.”
“I don’t want to put her in danger. And her knowing the truth would put her right in the middle of it.”
“And you don’t want what happened to Emily to happen to her,” Sam said softly. Embry’s eyes went wide as he realized what the man had said, quickly struggling to find a redeeming answer. “Don’t worry, Call. I wouldn’t want that to happen to anyone, for that matter. And as scary as it is to tell her the truth, you have to. As the days go by, you will both find it harder and harder to keep away from each other. It will be physically painful to stay apart.”
“I can’t do that to her. She deserves to be safe,” he silently sobbed. “The further away she is from me, the better it will be for her. I can’t hurt her if I’m not with her.”
Sam couldn’t help but feel pity for the boy. He had been in that very position not too long ago, running from the people he loved, fearing the hurt he could cause them. But he also knew how he could cause just as much pain by staying away.
“Look, Embry, I won’t tell you what you have to do,” he said. “But speaking from experience, running away does more harm than good. Whether you like it or not, she is now a part of this world and the best way to protect her is by telling her the truth. Unlike with your mom, the secret of our tribe has to be shared with our imprints. She’s gonna need to understand why it hurts so much to stay away from you.”
“What if things go bad?” Embry asked dolefully. “What if telling her pushes her away regardless?”
“That is just something you’ll have to leave to chance,” Sam sighed. “But if you need any backup if you choose to tell her, you know Emily and I are here and happy to help.”
“Thanks, Sam,” the boy responded. “But I think this is something I have to do by myself. I’m gonna tell her tonight and hope for the best.”
“Well, I’ll be doing patrol tonight. So, if at my point you need me, just call out.”
---
“Wait, you actually saw him here?” Jake asked that afternoon as the three friends left the school. “I heard he was back but I have not seen him the whole week.”
“He was standing in the middle of the hallway this morning and I tried to get to him,” (Y/N) explained. “But he ran away and literally disappeared. What the hell is going on with him?”
“Apparently he’s been sneaking out of his house for a while now,” Quil added, making (Y/N)’s heart wrench in her chest. “And his mom says he wasn’t home that week he skipped school.”
“I heard he’s been hanging out with Sam Uley’s gang,” Jake whispered. “That could explain why he’s acting so weird. He got involved with some shady shit.”
“Guys, this is Embry we’re talking about,” the girl defended, holding onto any hope that he was still the boy she loved. “Do you really think he would do something like that?”
“You keep trying to defend your little boyfriend but it’s clear he wants nothing to do with any of us,” Jake spat.
“He’s our friend, Jake,” (Y/N) seethed. “Sorry for actually believing there might be something else happening other than he might have joined a dangerous gang and has left us for dead.”
“(Y/N)…”
“Whatever, guys. I’ll see you on Monday.”
She left both boys dumbfounded and disappeared into her home. Once inside she crashed against her front door and allowed the tears that were stinging her eyes to flow free.
(Y/N) couldn’t accept that she had truly lost Embry. She couldn’t admit that she had fallen for someone that could act like she meant nothing to them, that could forget every moment they spent together, that could ignore everything they had admitted to her. She had trusted him with her heart and he had decided to shatter it without another thought.
Somehow she had made her way to her bedroom and had crashed on her bed. When her eyes fluttered open again the sun had completely set and the moon was shining brightly in the sky. In the darkness, she searched for her phone, feeling the need to apologize to Quil and Jake for snapping at them.
Yet, her screen lit up with Embry’s caller ID, showing her that it was the fifth call in the last twenty minutes. She debated answering the phone, wanting to make him feel just like she had the last two weeks.
But her resolution was too weak.
“What?” (Y/N) spat.
“Come to your window.”
She walked to her window, her gaze falling on his figure on the road. Tears were quick to form in the corners of her eyes, her emotions close to their bursting point. “What do you want, Embry?” she asked through the phone, careful to keep her voice from cracking. “It’s late.”
“I know, but I really need to talk to you, (Y/N).”
“So, you show up after two weeks of dead silence. Your hair is all chopped up, you’ve got a tattoo, and apparently, you’ve been hanging with Sam Uley’s gang. And you just come here and tell me now you wanna talk,” she scoffed. “Give me one reason why I should give you the time of day after all that?”
“I know I don’t deserve another chance and you have every right to turn me away right now,” he told her. “But I promise if you give me a couple of minutes I can explain everything to you. After that, you can decide what you want to do. Please, (Y/N).”
She kept quiet for a second, knowing that she didn’t have much to think about. Her heart knew exactly what she would answer before she could say it out loud. “Fine,” she said. “You’ve got ten minutes.”
“Alright,” he smiled. “Come down.”
She couldn’t help the eagerness that overtook her as she wrapped a jacket around her and silently slipped out the door. And once she was face to face with him, it took everything in her not to run and wrap her arms around Embry.
“Hey,” he smiled softly at her. “Been a while.”
“Not really in the mood for jokes, Embry,” she responded. “I came out here to hear you explain. So explain.”
“Okay, but I’m gonna need us to move into the woods.”
“I’m not going into the woods with you, Em. Just tell me already.”
“Look, I know this is weird but I need you to trust me, okay?” he asked giving her those puppy dog eyes that she had missed so much. The same eyes he’d give her when he begged for a kiss or when he pleaded for a couple of more minutes away from their friends. “Please.”
“Fine,” she sighed. “But your time is down to eight minutes.”
“Alright. Just, come on.”
Without thinking, he took hold of her hand, leading her to the darkness of the woods, searching for a place where no passersby could accidentally see him.
(Y/N) found herself allowing him to drag her, remembering just how comforting his warmth was. Especially on such a cold night in January, it surprised her just how high his temperature felt.
Once they were deep enough and Embry had halted them to a stop, she forced herself to drop his hand. She didn’t want him to forget the anger that still rushed through her veins, the disappointment that had found a home in her heart, and the hurt that she felt in every inch of her body.
“Go ahead,” she told him, crossing her arms across her chest to keep them from reaching toward him.
“Alright, first of all, I want to apologize for disappearing like that. It wasn’t fair to you or the guys. But you need to understand that I couldn’t tell you at the beginning,” he started. “(Y/N), what I’m about to tell you is gonna sound like the biggest lie you have heard, and you might even think that I’ve lost my mind. Still, everything I say is the honest truth.”
“Em, you’re scaring me,” she responded. “What’re you talking about?”
Embry took a deep breath, finding every ounce of strength to be able to finally tell her the truth, to wrap her in the web of the supernatural and hope he was strong enough to keep her from the dangers of it. “Okay, I’m gonna need you to think back to all the stories our parents and the elders would tell us around the bonfire,” he said. “How our Quileute ancestors were shapeshifters and how it was their job to protect our land. When we were kids we thought that those were only stories, myths to keep us children entertained. But it’s real, (Y/N). Those stories weren’t just fantasies, they are our history.
“The reason I disappeared was because I am now one of those shapeshifters. It happened the Saturday before starting school, at the back-to-school bonfire, when that guy was hitting on you when I walked away for a second,” he continued. His eyes never left hers, hoping —begging— that she believed him. “It happened so suddenly and I thought I was dying. I could feel anger taking over my entire body, filling me with this overheating rush that burned deep inside.
“It was Jared Cameron that found me. He pulled me into the woods and I was so angry that I couldn’t even process what was happening. He kept telling me to give in to the change to listen to my body and allow it to do what it needed to. Suddenly, my clothes were ripped to shreds and I was this huge wolf.
“After, Sam Uley and Paul Lahote joined him and walked me through shifting back, telling me to focus on my human form. It felt like everything around me was shaking, reacting to the way my body was transforming. And somehow, at just the right moment, I changed back into my human self.
“I spent that week learning to control my emotions so I wouldn’t trigger a phase in front of everyone, learning about our history and our role in the rez. It turns out, those guys aren’t a gang, they’re actually a pack and our job is to protect the reservation from anything, supernatural or not, that threatens our land. No one can know about our existence other than the elders and current pack members.”
“Wait, I don’t get it,” she stammered, her head spinning with all the information she was given. “This whole talk about wolves and supernatural beings… it’s crazy, Embry! A completely convoluted way of telling me it’s over.”
“I can show you,” he added. “Just don’t move even an inch from where you are right now.”
“What’re you…? Embry.”
He put some distance between them, making sure he was safely away from her. He removed his shirt and unbuttoned his pants, ensuring his clothes were close enough when he phased back. He knew just how impossible everything he had said sounded. If he hadn’t phased that night, there was no way he would have believed it.
But he needed her to believe him.
One second he was standing before her in human form, and the next, a tall gray wolf with black spots was staring her down. She stumbled back as her eyes met the animal’s, a slight rush of fear flowing through her veins.
Yet, she knew those brown eyes too well to be afraid for long. They were unmistakably Embry’s and they replaced her anxiety with a calming stream.  Something about him was calling to her, beckoning her to come closer. There was no danger, there was no panic, there was only calm.
(Y/N) made her way closer to the creature, every step filling her with courage. The wolf didn’t move, his eyes simply followed her, waiting. Because he was the tactable answer to all of her questions.
Her shaking hand raised and landed on the soft fur of the wolf’s head. As soon as she made contact, Embry nudged it, giving her the confirmation she was looking for. It was him and it was all true.
“You’re a wolf,” she softly chuckled. “You’re in front of me right now and you’re a giant wolf.”
Embry let out a confirming growl that sounded almost like a laugh and nuzzled his nose against her. The small force knocked her back softly, siphoning from her the laugh he had missed hearing.
“But if no one is supposed to know about you guys, why are you telling me all this?” (Y/N) asked before realizing he could not answer in his form. “Change back already. I have so many questions.”
In the blink of an eye, Embry stood before her, scrambling to get dressed. “This is the most awkward part of phasing back,” he chuckled dryly. “It’s worse when you’re surrounded by guys you barely know.”
“Yeah, I can imagine,” she sympathized. “Now, why me? Why am I the only one that you’re telling this to? Jake and Quil truly believe you’ve joined a gang and left us in the dust.”
“Well, as with most things, there is an exception to the rules. One person that is allowed to know everything, even if they’re not members of the pack,” he explained slowly. “There’s something that happens after your shift that involves that person. It’s called imprinting. I’m the most basic definition: it's a soulmate. You are unconditionally bound to this person for the rest of your life, becoming whatever it is that they need from you —a sibling, a friend, a partner. Anything.
“Your whole world changes,” he continued, his hands taking hers. “They become your gravity, your very reason for living. Even being apart feels physically painful. Everything falls secondary to them, and all it takes is one look.”
“This morning,” she breathed. (Y/N) had felt something change when they had locked eyes in the hall. His absence had become a harrowing pit in her stomach. “But I…”
“The bond affects the imprint as well,” Embry answered before she could ask. “But nothing happens without them wanting it. You are only what the imprint wants.”
“So it’s me,” she said, trying to hold back tears, her eyes falling to where their hands were clasped. “Is that why you ran away this morning? Because you imprinted on me? Was it… did you not want it to be me?”
“No! I mean yes! I wanted it to be you,” he rapidly scrambled for his response. “But I was afraid of what the implications of you being my imprint would be.”
“What do you mean?”
“First of all, I could never forgive myself if I was the reason you were ever in danger,” Embry started, his hand cradling her cheek to lift her gaze to his, wiping away the strand that had fallen. “But what I was most afraid of was that it would make you feel things that you might not have felt had it not been for this supernatural intervention.”
“I’m not following, Em.”
“Look, (Y/N), I love you —I’m in love with you. And I have been for a long time,” he confessed. “And even though I know you like me and we spent all this time together, I was afraid that if you felt more for me it would be because of the imprint bond and not really how you would have felt without it.”
Finally, it was her turn to comfort him. “Em, I think I’ve loved you since the moment we met,” she grinned. “I don’t need a supernatural link to tell me how I have felt about you for the majority of my life. And I understand why you had to keep all of this from us. As much as I would love for Jake and Quil to know how much of an amazing badass my boyfriend is, we know how well I can keep a secret.”
Embry’s eyes opened wide at the word, loving how it sounded coming from her lips. “Boyfriend? You called me your boyfriend!”
“Is that not what you are?”
“Yes. Yes! And you’re my girlfriend!” he exclaimed as he hugged her waist tightly, twirling her in a hug. “God, being without you has made this the worst two weeks of my life.”
“I can tell,” she teased. “I mean you lost my favorite thing about you. I’m really gonna miss your hair.”
“Unless you braid the wolf’s hair, I’m afraid we’re stuck with the short hair for a while.”
“I can work with that as long as you don’t ever disappear like that again.”
“I promise I will never willingly do that,” he responded. “I can assure you these past two weeks have been hell.”
“Well, we won’t have that time back. But we can make sure we don’t lose any more.”
“I like the sound of that,” he grinned.
He placed both hands on either side of (Y/N)’s face, nuzzling his nose to hers as he had done the first time they kissed. He breathed in her scent. He listened to the patter of her heart, to the sound of her breath. He took her in completely at the moment, memorizing how she looked when they told each other they loved one another.
“Are you gonna make me wait?” she let out a strangled breath. “Or are you gonna kiss me already?”
“You waited two weeks already,” he teased.
“So I’ve waited long enough,” she bit back. “Now kiss me, you dork.”
Finally, he crashed his lips onto hers and everything felt like it had fallen where it was supposed to. There had never been secrets between them, and, now, there never had to be any more. The universe had simply confirmed what they already felt.

“Well, Quil, looks like you’re gonna have to pay up, my man,” Jake joked a couple of months after that fateful night. All discord between the friends had died the second the boys that were kept in the dark phases as well. “I told you these two had been together for a while.”
“No, you owe me,” he retorted. “They got together closer to the timeline I had set.”
“Actually,” Embry interjected, his arm draped over (Y/N)’s shoulders. “If you look at the board of bets, you’ll see that I had put down the actual date and time that we got together.”
“But that’s not fair! When we made that bet board we had no idea you two were actually together,” Quil whined. “There’s no way that should be an admissible bet.”
“Not knowing the facts doesn’t exempt you from it,” (Y/N) chuckled. “A bet that falls under the set rules for that pile will remain intact, even if it’s under a loophole.”
“Of course you’ll say that, (Y/N),” Jake scoffed. “He’s your boyfriend after all.”
“Don’t forget imprintee,” she grinned. “Now, both of you, cough up those twenty bucks.”
Later that afternoon and forty bucks richer, (Y/N) and Embry sat in the Uley’s backyard, watching the other boys playing football farther away from the bonfire Sam had started. They had curled up together under a blanket, enjoying the fact that they were together, and the world seemed to grant them a day of peace.
“Have I ever told you how much I love you?” Embry whispered into her ear, pressing her tighter to him. “Because I do. So much.”
“Hm,” she smiled, melting into his touch. “You’ve told me once or twice. But I’ll never get tired of hearing it. Because I love you too.”
“And I’ll never get tired of saying it.”
“Good,” she beamed. “Because you’re stuck with me until the end.”
“Couldn’t think of a better life than that.”

[Quil, Embry, Seth and Jacobs reaction to you giving them a plushie] 🧸🐺
Tumblr media
Quil would think it's so cute and tells you so with a very cute smile (know he finds you so adorable)
any gift from you is to be loved and cherished, probably gonna give it an old man's name,
He hugs it to his chest when he misses you,
His mom and friends have picked on him for it but he always just laughs it off,
He keeps it on his bed which he makes everyday, (his mom taught him well)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tumblr media
Embry you gave it to him when you were in his car which is where he keeps it,
He smiles at it whenever he climbs in or glances at it, the same fond smile he gave when you gifted it to him, he doesn't say much other than a "thank you" with a small smile, and holds your hand the whole car ride which is pretty normal,
(Has held up traffic before looking at it and day dreaming about you)
He wants you to name it, and really likes the name you choose,
Not related but (doesn't move much in his sleep so his bed looks almost like how his mom made it yesterday)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tumblr media
Seth Loves it, he gave you a big thank you and kiss on the cheek when you give it to him,
Names it something silly like "fruit bob" or something,
sleeps curled around it or with his face buried in it every night he can't hold you,
keeps it somewhere in his tousled sheets
(bed not made and messy, pillow on the floor messy)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tumblr media
Jacob laughs at you for getting such a cute gift for such an edgy adorable guy like him,
But he actually really likes it since it came from you but he doesn't admit that,
Doesn't name it but keeps whatever name you gave it,
He hides it whenever his friends are over, and billy,
Keeps it on his dresser (bed not made but not bad)
gap year.
EMBRY CALL X FEM!READER
While working at the first beach souvenir shop to save up money in your gap year your childhood friend Embry Call picks you up and imprints on you... after not seeing you for four months.
word count: 5.4k
warnings: explicit language, allusions to smut but no detail. All 18+ minors dni.
"Right sweetheart, I'm going to check out." Ms Call said, grabbing her coat. "Christ its pouring down." Her brown sneakers stopping at the front window.
I both laughed and sighed when looking out the front of the shop. It was pouring... and yeah, I absolutely didn't have a ride home. It didn't look like the rain was going to stop at any moment soon. Working in the first beach gift shop had many upsides... a steady income, a beautiful view of first beach and a serene silence that whimpers in the wind of the beach. But only two busses came by on weekdays like this at 8am just before my shift starts and then at 7pm. With my shift ending at 5pm and the pouring rain halting any attempt of walking all the way to forks from the reservation the future didn't look too dry.
"I'm gonna ask Embry to come pick you up when your shift ends sweetheart, don't say no. There's no way I'm letting you walk in this."
Oh Embry. It'd been a few months since I'd seen him last. He'd cut his hair and somehow grown half a foot in a few weeks. Being close friends growing up sharing shy kisses on the very beach that I now worked at... then not speaking for months. To say it was awkward would be an understatement. It had been a task to not face him in the past few months but going into the back, restocking the shelves and hiding under the desk had been doing me extremely well. He’d cut me off completely after all. And that hurt like a bitch.
"Don't let him go out of his way, I'm sure I can get Kim to come and get me." Kim was currently at the movies with Emily.
"Ah here he is now, Embry love you are not wearing enough layers!"
"Sorry mom." He laughed coming into the shop. shaking off rain from his hair lightly, his tan skin smooth and glistening. His cargo's slightly drenched and Ms Call was correct he only wore a shirt and a thin jacket. Really thin. Like see the outline of him, okay I need to not think about him. I don't think I can do that. Alright focusing on the key chain on the desk. It's kind of cute.
"So, Embry's picking you up at 5pm, when you lock up remember to turn the stereo off dear." She smiled leaving a confused Embry at the shop door.
"No please it's okay." I tried to bargain, avoiding Embry's gaze. And failing. His eyes widened and he couldn't stop staring at me. Ms Call opened the door and tapped his shoulder. He'd just stopped staring at me, and I'd decided to take to staring at the whirling ocean.
"I'll be here at five." I could hear the grin in his voice. Why was he grinning? Why did it feel as if I were being pulled to him. Busying myself with the cd player and hearing the door close and turning around I'd managed to catch Embry driving away, a strong smile on his beautiful face. Wait beautiful? No Embry is strictly within childhood friend category. But God. Look at him. It felt as if my feet were pulling me to him. I turned on the stereo, connecting it to my phone it started playing When I was all over her, by Salvia Palth. Such a beautiful song. That fit this rainy day but felt like someone had stuck their fingers in a stab wound.
After loosing sight of them I felt this strangest emptiness within my lungs. Like I was short of breath, and I had been my entire life, the feeling only rectified when I was with him. No, I’m being insane. Literally insane.
But haven’t I known this my entire life?
Hasn’t every innocent touch and childish giggle led to this? Hasn’t Embry always been that warm reassuring shoulder I could fall onto? The kindness in his smile. The reminder that there will be a better tomorrow. The first foxglove flower to grow in spring, signifying a good hearty summer.
Foxglove was what we helped my grandmother plant outside our house when we were six. I still think of the pale pinks and blue even in winter. Living with my grandma meant my income was really the only income but she would get checks every so often for her books. Writing books on plants and their medicinal properties for the past forty years had kept her going but having my stream of income had helped a lot. However, most of it goes into savings. College doesn’t come cheap. She’d talked about Embry a lot recently saying how I should ‘just go over there and see his face’ which now I wish I had done sooner but I’m not sure why.
Living on the outskirts of Forks her whole life my grandma had grown alongside the elders on the reservation, I was friends with their grandchildren. I met Embry through Jacob, my grandmother adored him. Highschool and middle school were strange, befriending some people in forks and then recounting everything to Embry on the weekend. I remember how my grandma would sit and braid mine, Embry and Jacobs hair on a Sunday morning every weekend in the summer holidays. I still can’t believe he’d cut his hair. It seems like he’s growing it out again which is good but why would he do it?
Three hours passed by slowly and gratuitously. Every minute pulling me along like it hates the next.
I was thankful for that, I guess. Then I wouldn’t have to face him so soon. Wouldn’t have to face what I felt towards him so soon. It should be that love I have held for him my whole life. Our love was a folk song. One that would be passed on the way it’d been passed to us.
When I was seven years old and the two of us went into the woods, we couldn’t have been more than half a mile into the vast wilderness, after climbing a tree I’d ungracefully fallen out of he’d held my hand the entire way home. It felt like it was just the two of us. We had started the journey saying we were going to Europe. On foot. Little bags with snacks and crayons. He’d braided my hair out of my eyes when I’d sat down, the broken arm causing a little too much pain for me. Telling me it wasn’t too far now as he kissed the tears of my cheeks. I can still feel his small hand in my smaller hand. It’d been a short walk, as we grew older, we’d walk and re-walked it over and over going further into the woods every time. It wasn’t a fearful place.
The people at my high school were afraid of it. I wondered if I would’ve been too if my grandma lived further away from it.
Time must have gone faster than I’d thought because next thing I knew the front door opens and Embry comes in. It’s raining even harder now. The ache in me had left, with all the warm air as he opened the door.
“Hey” he smiles. I feel calm. I wish I didn’t feel calm. I wish I could just throw thigs at him. Scream at him for ignoring me.
Instead of responding I realise I needed to lock up about twenty minuets ago.
“Shit.”
He called my name as I ran into the back. Locking up and grabbing my raincoat we wordlessly get ready to go. I come back and he’s watching the ocean. If I just ignore him as much as I can till, he drops me at my house maybe then he’ll realise how fucked up he’s acted towards me. Locking the front door, I prepare myself to run through the rain. Embry ran to the driver’s side and opened my door from within.
“I am sorry, you know.”
I don’t respond. I want him to know how I feel but for some stupid to God reason I can’t spit it out.
“There are some things I need to tell you. I’ve wanted to tell you since it begun but I wasn’t allowed.” He continued. Not starting the car. “But after seeing you today I found out you are the only person I really can tell.” It warms my heart then burns me. How dare he. I stuff down any sweet feeling and spit up my pride.
“it’s been four months and you think everything will be okay now?”
“I know I hurt you but...”
“Just drive Embry.” I cut him off. Being alone never phased me, I’d simply go into the woods or sit in the garden, but I hadn’t had the heart to lately. All the flowers and the beautiful trees reminded me off him and it made me feel so weak. It had made me feel lonely. And I hated that. He knew I hated that.
So he drove. The beautiful winding roads and tall trees.
A cd started playing, I recognised it. The song Shrike, by Hozier played. One of my favourites. I dug my nails into my hands. I always think of him when I hear this song.
“Stop!” I shouted. Screeching, the car pulled to a halt. There on the road directly in front of us was a dog. German Shepard. It’d clearly been injured.
“Shit” Embry muttered, seeing what I had spotted before him. I couldn’t blame him for that the rain was so thick.
“Open the back doors and help me grab her.” I said, my heart leaping from my chest. Before he could say anything in return I ran out of the car. Abandoning all thought and getting soaked to the bone. I felt the freezing cold before I felt my feet hit the ground.
Getting closer I heard little whimpers from the poor thing. Its back left leg twisted in a grim manner I wish I could unsee. My hands slowly reached for her. Staying within his eyeline I stroked her fur. Trying to be as soothing as I could be. Embry had run over at this point. Soaked to the bone from the rain.
“I’ll pick her up, hold on.” And before I could protest because this German Shepard was clearly a two-man job, Embry had picked her up. Putting her in the back of the car I scrambled for the extra blankets I knew Embry kept in the trunk. They’d been the ones I’d lain on with him. The ones we’d carry all the way to the top of a mountain on our hikes, we’d sit on them for our lunch halfway through. It all felt like a blur no words between us both just the heavy breaths of two kids, terrified about the life of this small, beautiful creature in our hands, when we’d both gotten back in the car, I’d grabbed my phone from my bag.
“The vets are open; they’re staying open for us.” I heard a hum of acknowledgement as he sharply turned the car around. Without thinking and only wanting to calm him down I placed my hand on his thigh. Looking back at the dog.
“Give her a name.” He’d said his own hand on top of mine now.
“Dottie” I practically whispered.
“Dottie is a nice name.” He was quieter now. I looked at him and pulled my hand away.
The ride was quick, but it felt long. It was the pained whimpers from Dottie and the strayed moment of Embry and me.
There was a man outside the vets, no doubt waiting for us. He was medium built, his long dark hair tied into a braid at the back of his head. He couldn’t have been older than 45.
Running over to us, he and Embry got Dottie out of the car.
I’d ran to the front desk inside the building, explaining where we’d found her and that I’d take her in if needs be. The woman at the front desk was mousy and thin faced. She smiled and placed her hand on top of mine.
“She’ll be alright, you two seem to have found her rather quickly. Go sit over there with your friend and just wait.” She smiled, a thin lipped one. Her golden earrings shimmering in the static lighting of the vets.
I turned seeing Embry sat on one of the thin, white plastic chairs. Sitting next to him I felt all the air push out of my lungs. It’s like I collapsed into myself.
“That was an eventful ten minutes.” He sighed, breaking the silence.
“it really was.” Silenced filled us up again. Like a solitary leaf on the last day of Autumn.
“We should go to my house after.” He looked at me. Taking in my soaked figure, rain seeping through me. “It’s only five minuets away and well my mom wouldn’t forgive me if I sent you home soaking wet.” He joked, laughing abit. I laughed too, she really wouldn’t. “Plus, you have clean and more importantly dry clothes in my room.” He added, looking away from me. We both had spare clothes at each other’s houses. We had been best friends for almost two decades, of course we did.
“Fine.” Silence again and I cursed myself for being rude and curt when I saw his expression. Like I’d stabbed him. Embry had always felt everything so deeply, so unabashed. It’d always been true with him. He’d never lie about how he felt, even when he clearly wanted to.
“Look, I really can explain everything to you.” He breathed heavily, looking outside to the pouring rain, “You don’t have to forgive me for what I did but please here me out.”
“I don’t know what you could say to provide any reasoning as to why you left me.”
“I didn’t leave you.” He was getting defensive now. So was I.
“You did, I have been alone. Four months. You have ignored me. You have gone out of your way to seem like nothing happened. Being your new friends little lap dog. I get it. People grow apart. But I mean fuck you left me completely.” I finished my little rant. Angrily and stubbornly, I stared at him. Refusing to be the meek girl who immediately forgave the boy for everything he did. I resented him for that. For the fact I was angry. Despite my longing and yearning. I was angry. He was silent, pain flashing across his face. It hurt to hurt him so clearly but sometimes people need to get their feelings hurt to know what they have done is not okay.
There’s always another way. And he didn’t choose that. I tried, calling him. Visiting him. Asking his mom when we were working. I eventually took the hint and gave up but that doesn’t stop the persistent pain I felt.
Standing up as the vet came back in, he said one more thing to me, “I didn’t leave you.”
I scoffed, hoping he heard. He literally did. I can’t think of any way he didn’t leave me. But deep down, past the anger and resentment I knew he was telling the truth. I’d felt it. I’d also felt like a raging idiot, but I felt it. I don’t want to be mean. I want to hug him and love him. But all this pain is embarrassing. It’s annoying. Growing up Embry was one of the only people I would cry in front of. I wanted to cry now. I didn’t really focus on what the vet said. Only really registering anything when we got back into the car. The radio turned back on, John Wayne by Cigarettes after sex started playing. I gave him this cd. Burning all the songs on it myself… with Jacobs help but still.
“I’m sorry.” I forced myself to say. “I mean what you did was shitty, but I shouldn’t have said that.”
“No. you were right. I can’t just throw this on you.” He pulled into his driveway. “But I swear, this will all make a lot of sense. Just listen and ask as many questions as you want.” We ran to his porch.
“Mom! Can you bring us some towels?” We started shedding as many layers as we could before going in, we’d done this routine hundreds of times before. As kids Ms Call would get so annoyed at us for going inside dripping with water, saying we caused more trouble than we were worth.
She laughed when we got inside leaving the clothes on the safety of the porch.
“Look at you two, I swear you’re both eight years old again playing soccer in the rain.” Her smile was as warm as the house we were in. The smoothness of the hardwood floor beneath my feet was familiar and nostalgic. It’d had only been four months, but I could’ve sworn it was only yesterday Embry and I had skidded across these floors in our socks on a Saturday morning. Friday sleepovers were customary, it felt natural to be here on a Friday night. We started drying ourselves off, I only wore a t-shirt and the shorts I’d worn under my jeans for warmth, thankful for them. I used to wear little around Embry before this but since his absence and his… changes I felt intimidated. He was beautiful. No longer holding the softness of youth. He wore just his boxers, clearly unaware. Well, I was glad he was unaware. Going down the corridor to his room everything felt peaceful. The blue walls of his bedroom held so many pictures. I’d never seen this before. Some of him, Quill and Jacob. Some of Jacob and me. And lots of him and I. The one that stood out was me and him going down to the lake when we were kids, holding each other’s hands, his mom had taken it. That I knew. Seeing these up I looked at him, blushing he had clearly not thought about this.
“At least I know you didn’t forget me.” I joked as I went over to his computer. Spotify was already open, sitting down I searched for a playlist. He just laughed lightly and sat on his bed. It was a nice silence, sweeter than the one at the vets. Putting on one I’d made recently I moved over to his bed. I didn’t sit as close to him as I would’ve liked to, but his chest was so? Chiselled?
“Alright be honest have you been eating steroids because no human should gain this much muscle so quickly.” I poked his bicep, rock solid. What the fuck.
“That’s actually part of my explanation and no, no steroids have been ingested.”
Gold rush by Taylor Swift came on, I don’t remember adding it to the playlist. Embry must’ve noticed my light confusion.
“Oh, I added that to my queue before you got here” a beat of silence as I smile at myself, secret swifty. To be fair I felt like getting up and dancing to this song. It’s just so damn good.
“Should we get dressed or do you want to explain first?” I asked, wincing at how sharp the end came out. But he didn’t react how I thought he did. He started laughing. Like clenching gut laughing. “What?” I had started laughing too, not sure what we were laughing at exactly.
“It’s your shirt” He managed to get out through laughs. We’d both stopped laughing after a minute of heavy confused laughter. My shirt had a wolf, I’d got it for two dollars a few weeks ago and decided that it was horrendously ugly, and it was now my favourite shirt ever. It had a lone wolf howling at a yellow moon and all its teeth were blue. It was phenomenal.
 “What? This shirt is really cool! All the kids are wearing them!”
He’d started laughing again, I couldn’t help but join again. God it was such an ugly shirt.
“Not only is it just. Wow, so ugly but it’s kind of relevant to, like, what I have to tell you.”
Okay any theory I have has not only just been thrown out of the window but has been lost at sea.
“You started printing awesome t-shirts?”
“Oh, you wish.” He grinned.
“I do! Imagine all the free shirts I’d get!” This felt so natural. So… us. But then the air became serious as he stopped smiling and grabbed my hands. He was so warm, warmer than I remembered. Does memory minimise feeling? Was he always this warm? No winder he wore practically nothing to pick up his mom.
“Do you remember the old legends we used to get told about the tribe’s history and the cold ones?” I nodded, clueless as to where this was going. “Well, they’re true. Every single line. Completely and utterly true.” He no doubt saw the shock in my face. “The cold ones returned, and it forced some of us to… you know... phase.” He stopped waiting for my reaction. I couldn’t say anything. Furious at myself for believing him. Because I did. My grandmother had been talking to someone over the phone about the old tribal legends. I couldn’t stop my mind from whirling. I just squeezed his hand, hoping he'd keep talking.
“And, um, yeah it happened to me. And I couldn’t control it. Sam, the oldest one had taken us in and helped us transition, I guess. See I couldn’t be near you, any strong emotion triggered it to begin with and until I’d gotten it under control, I knew I couldn’t risk it. I couldn’t risk hurting you. Sam had hurt Emily and he doesn’t forgive himself. But then I’d gained control over it. But I couldn’t bring myself to see you again.” He’d finished his word vomit. The lack of cohesion and the pained look in his eyes told me enough. His voice was just as naturally quiet as it always was, but the words came out faster and strained. Like he’d wanted to tell me this every day for months.
“Wait so” I took a deep breath in, regaining my focus and letting go of his hands. “You’re a… wolf?”
He nodded, he looked ashamed.
“Did it hurt?”
“I thought I was dying. I couldn’t breathe and every movement was a strained scream.” He looked away. “It was like I was losing myself. That’s when I put up all these photos.” Looking around I couldn’t help but smile. “The memories became like an anchor to not accidently phase.”
The silence that consumed us was one I’d never felt before. It was pregnant with something.
“You said before that you never left me, what did you mean?”
“I kept going to your house,” I looked at him, confused. There’s no way my grandma wouldn’t have said something. “I was in the treeline. I couldn’t sleep, scared the cold ones were going to hurt you.”
“The Cullen’s, right?” I shivered at the thought. I’d been at school with dead bodies? Like living dead people, gross.
“Yes. But they’re gone now. I promise.” I didn’t mention him not leaving me, it felt calming. I hadn’t left his mind; he hadn’t left mine.
“So, why the change of heart?” He looked away, scratching the back of his neck.
“Do you remember the second part of the legend?”
It took me a few seconds. Thinking back to the bonfires Embry invited me and my grandma too growing up.
“Oh yeah imprinting but what does- oh. Oh.”
“Yeah.” He looked heartbroken. Taking my shock as something negative. But I couldn’t really say anything. My heart was in my throat. Scratching and scarping my oesophagus. It felt like my lungs were filling with blood.
Suddenly, I felt like a small robin. Flying and soaring. A glamorous breeze guiding me home. The home was an open window, to blue walls and Embry. I was the tired snake sneaking into Eden to be with him. I was the tired coal miner coming home to his arms. We were the con artists, partners in crime that hid our love in the unspoken touches and glances.
“Do you want this?” I managed to push out of my throat. The idea of this being forced onto him made bile raise in my throat.
“I’ve always wanted this. Ever since we were kids. When I held your hand when you broke your arm. When we’d braid each other’s hair. When you would tell me random facts about plants and birds you’d picked up from your grandma. I’ve always been in love with you. I didn’t need to imprint on you to know that.” He looked at me, I fell into his eyes. If only this had happened a few months ago.
But I’m glad. Despite the pain I know that even without the imprint, I loved him.
“The imprint bond is whatever you want it to be. Please don’t feel forced into anything you don’t want.”
“But what if I do want it?” He froze, hopeful. “I’ve loved you forever. It’s stupid, annoying and painful but it makes me feel like the most amazing person in the world.” I don’t need to explain any further. I know he understands. Of course, he does, the only person that never just tolerated me, he always cared for me.
“I’m sorry I didn’t see you sooner. It’s stupid and childish but I was scared that I wouldn’t imprint on you.”
“Even if you hadn’t, I’d just be glad to have you back in my life.” I practically whispered. The rain was lighter now. The tree outside his window swaying in the wind. Singing to the earth the song of him and I. His smile felt as graceful as the strongest deer.
After more explanations and more reassurance from me, Embry finally relaxed. After he told me about Emily and Leah, what had just happened between us seemed so tame. I couldn’t wait to see Emily again. She and I would be the only imprints. I didn’t like the idea of having to keep this from Kim. I’d have to see how Emily kept it from both of us. It hurt deeply when I thought of Leah. How her entire life revolved around Sam, after what happened. Especially considering the unquestionable grief she is going through due to her father’s untimely passing.
“Do you wanna stay the night?” Embry asked, drawing stars on my thighs as we laid on his bed. Nodding I turned to face him, foreheads touching.
“Do you want to know something sad?” I asked. He whispered a small yes to me, “I thought you’d left me and” I struggled to get it out, heart rebreaking at the memories. “And I thought all the love we had was a delusion, a fantasy. But I couldn’t have been more wrong.”
“I’m sorry.” He whispered, hand on my face as he started crying. I cried too. It wasn’t just sadness, we cried relief. It felt as if I’d been dusted off. Like some omnipotent being had picked me up gently, assuring me all will well.
I think I feel just as much as Embry does. I think I always have. Maybe that’s why I took this gap year. Of course, I needed to save up for college but… I could’ve just worked and studied. But I needed to be here. I feel so much. So all-consuming it becomes an amalgamation of thoughts. Love is the most confusing emotion. Like anger. The anger I felt towards him was the secondary emotion. All anger is. I was sad. I missed him like a rich man misses hunger. Like the bird misses the first flight. Like a deer misses the leaves every winter. I missed ferociously. I missed him with a vigorous anger of a wailing woman. I became a horror. The emptiness of waking on my own a Saturday was gone. I no longer felt hollow. I felt real.
The night was intimate touches, clumsy movements and immense love in a way we have never experienced before. Never imagined to cross that line of friend to this. By the end of the night we held hands and breathed heavily, Sesame Syrup by Cigarettes after sex being the last song playing before we drifted asleep, it was fitting. Even if neither of us smoke.
The next morning was so bright. All the rain had given the grass this sensational glow. Ms Call had called my grandma last night, no doubt the pair gossiping like excited kids. I felt at peace. My entire world had been recentred when I awoke in his arms. Getting changed into the jeans and sweater I had in his closet I silently creeped through to the kitchen. Getting closer I heard light music trilling through the small house. Ms Call was dancing around the kitchen as she made breakfast. Noticing me she laughed pulling me into her, we danced and cooked. I told her about Dottie, how scared I was. How weak she seemed. But that the vet texted me late last night that they had found her owner, an elderly man who had missed her dearly. She was home. Frail and injured but no longer scared.
Embry wandered into the kitchen confused at all the noise. His eyes heavy with sleep, movements soft and low. His smile gleaned as he saw us. Despite his downright horrible dancing skills, we both pulled him to dance with us. It’d been as if my absence echoed and pained Ms Call as much as it did her son. We danced all morning, after eating breakfast Embry and I decided to go down to Port Angeles to grab Ms Call some flowers and to get some more cd’s for his car. He had told me the acidic feeling he had gotten in his throat when he went to buy them on his own.
I was always a full person without Embry, but with him I was enhanced. I was lively and focused. My movements weren’t the sluggish lugs they had been. He was a homeland. The beautiful village that welcomed me when I was shipwrecked.
AN/: hello! this was an absolute joy to write! I incorporated a lot of my music taste and some vague background to the readers life. I am absolutely ignoring writing an essay for uni right now. I expect very little action with this, I'm not sure how many people will read for my best boy Embry:(
I do have a part two I'm writing to explain more of the grandmother and Kim's imprinting from Jared! In this Bella doesn't get back with Edward, sorry but I just cannot write for that I don't see any chemistry at all between them. I rewrote a bit of Shifter Lore for the tribe in this as SMeyer's is extremely insensitive and I hate strongly how she made them cut their hair. I basically dislike Smeyer. I have made a spotify playlist with all songs mentioned and other songs that remind me of you and Embry, lmk if anyone wants me to share it :)
My requests are open! I write for all twilight characters and some other shows :) Thank you for reading this far. I love you, eat well and have a good new year!
Embry: The Dance Part 2
*Finally felt well enough to finish it! Hope ya’ll enjoy it! On a side note, I loved Kristopher Hyatt as Embry even though his part was so short :( Kiowa Gorden was okay but there is just something about Kristopher that I liked more so that’s why I’m using his photo lol*
Tumblr media
You had trouble sleeping that night, tossing and turning all night. The clock turned midnight and you heard a rock hit your window. You sighed, getting up and looking out the window to see Embry standing there, shirtless and in just shorts, even barefoot. You sighed, opening the window.
"What do you want?" You called quietly, not wanting to wake up anyone in the house.
"Can I come in?" He asked, staring at you.
"I don't think that's a good idea," you didn't want to let him in.  He hurt you tremendously and you couldn't stand to look at him right now.
"I want to properly apologize and explain myself," he said, leaning against the window sill and giving you puppy dog eyes, "Please let me in, _____."
"Fine, but you have to be quiet," you stepped aside, letting him climb through the window, shutting it behind him. "You have ten minutes and then I'm kicking you out."
"It's going to probably take longer than that, but I'll try," he sighed, running a hand through his now short hair. You kinda missed his long hair and the way it flowed down his back. "I don't even know where to begin. I guess I'll begin with saying I'm really sorry."
"You said that already," you pointed out, crossing your arms.
"I won't ever be able to say it enough," he said softly, looking at you, "You looked beautiful tonight and I… I messed up. I had to stay away from you, for your safety. I'm really sorry that I hurt you and I'll spend forever making it up to you if you'll let me."
"What changed?" You asked.
"What?"
"You said you had to stay away for my safety. What changed so much that you're here now," you waited for an answer as he began to pace.
"Have you ever heard of the legends of my tribe?" You shook your head at his words, him sighing before continuing, "This is going to be more difficult… So, they say we are descended from spirit warriors."
"Spirit warriors?"
"Yeah, like… shapeshifters but only wolves," he said, turning to look at you, "When vampires would come into our territory, it would cause a few warriors to change to fight the vampires off."
"Vampires? Right," you said, shaking your head.
"Yes, vampires," he continued, "Not every generation had spirit warriors but… this one does."
"So, you're trying to tell me that there are shapeshifters that turn into wolves in your tribe to fight these so-called vampires," you laughed uncomfortably, "Right. If you didn't want to go with me, all you had to do was say so. You don't need to lie or come up with this ridiculous story."
"I'm not lying and it's not a story," he sighed frustratingly, "I'm telling the truth! I'm one of them."
"Okay, say I believe you, why tell me now?" You asked, raising an eyebrow at him.
"Well, there's more," you hummed as he continued to speak, "We have these things called imprints. They are like… the other half of our soul. It's like our soulmate, our air, our entire world. When we meet eyes for the first time, it's like they're the ones holding us down to the earth."
"What does this have to do with why you're telling me?"
"You're my imprint," he said plainly, as if it was obvious.
"You must have lost your mind," you began, opening the window, "You need to leave."
"Let me prove it to you," he said desperately, grabbing your hand and you could feel how warm his skin was, "Come with me and let me show you."
"Why should I trust you?"
"You did once before. Please, let me show you and if you still want nothing to do with me..  then I'll leave you alone," he spoke as if just saying the words hurt him. You sighed, nodding and climbing out the window with him. He grabbed your hand, leading you into the forest and through the trees until it came to a small clearing. He came to a stop and let go of your hand, turning towards you, "Just wait here, please?" You sighed and nodded before he turned and went into the forest. You heard the crunch of leaves as something emerged from the darkness where Embry had just gone. Out walked a huge wolf, gray in color with dark spots on its back. You gasped, taking a step back but tripping and falling to the ground. The wolf whined and stepped forward so you held your hand up.
"Don't get closer," you called out, picking yourself off the ground. Your hands were shaking and you could feel fear creep in. You looked over at the wolf who laid down and looked up at you, seeing Embry's eyes mirrored in the wolf's eyes. You swallowed hard and stepped forwards, your hand held out to him. You reached him and placed your hand near his face, gasping slightly as he nudged your hand with his snout. You sighed as you sat in front of him, petting him gently. "Okay, I think you need to change back. We need to talk." He got up, turning and trotting into the trees again before coming back out in his human form. "How long have you been like this?"
"Not very long. Right after I asked you to the dance, I suppose." He walked up to you, putting his hands in his pockets as he looked down at you, "I'm really sorry. It was supposed to be a secret that no one but our imprint could know. I didn't know you were mine until tonight."
"I understand, I guess," you replied, hugging your arms around yourself, "I mean, I can't fault you for something you can't help."
"I still should have told you I couldn't go," he said softly, looking away, "I just didn't want to see your disappointment so I thought it'd be easier if you hated me."
"I could never hate you, Embry," you replied, holding out your hand for him to take, "I could be upset with you but I could never hate you."
"Never? That's a long time to commit to," he smiled as he took your hand, squeezing it gently.
"Yeah," you smiled back, "Can we head back now? We can talk more tomorrow but I've got to get some sleep tonight and it's already after midnight."
"Oh, right, sorry," he smiled sheepishly and led you back to your house. He helped you through the window before speaking again, "So, I'll see you tomorrow?"
"Yes, you'll see me tomorrow," you reached up, kissing his cheek before smiling as you closed the window on him before he could say anything. You waved goodbye as you watched him leave back through the forest. "What am I getting myself into?"
snippet of autistic!reader & autistic!quil waiting for embry to come home <3 quil calls reader pup ; no pronouns used / gender neutral
Tumblr media
The room is quiet as you suck on the peppermint candy. Embry had left a few hours ago, Sam calling him over to patrol your small town. Your favorite playlist was playing as you waited for Quil to appear — his mom always sent over candy when she knew he’d be visiting you.
A joyful, excited smile greets you as Quil opens the front door. In his hands are packets of candies for you, all lovingly and cautiously picked out. He lays them on the coffee table you’re sitting in front of before pressing a kiss to your cheekbone. “Keepin’ busy?”
You shrug as you look at the picture you’d gotten halfway through coloring before he’d shown up. “Somethin’ like that. Embry home soon?”
Quil nods and makes himself comfortable on the sofa behind you. His legs are on either side of your body, blocking you in as he grabs the book he’d been getting through. Your playlist comes to an end and the silence causes Quil to scrunch his nose.
“Pup,” he nudges your shoulder with his knee. You pause your coloring to turn your ear his way, still keeping your gaze on the table. “Mind if I change it?”
You shake your head before letting out a smack! as you finish off your peppermint candy. Quil fondly watches you take a sip of water, the reminder to Embry had set for you both showcasing on your phone.
The curly haired boy gets lost in his novels quickly. It’s something you’d first learned about Quil — that reading helped him escape and settle his mind simultaneously. His right hand is twirling the strings of the hoodie he’s wearing as his left hand holds his book steady. You place a kiss on his knee before you finish coloring your picture.
Embry comes home to a scene that feels so domestic — so warm and tender that he wants to cry. You and Quil did this often — parallel play, it was called. An acoustic, indie sounding playlist was playing around the house softly as you both did your own things.
It made Embry’s heart flip and flutter as he shut the front door quietly. He plops onto the sofa with a sigh, leaning his head against the back of it. Almost immediately, Quil’s head falls to his shoulder as your head hits his knee gently.
Home, Embry smiles to himself as his eyes slide shut. I’m finally home.
—— idk how many notes this ill get / how popular it’ll b but i needed some comfort n this happened <3
Raining on the rez in forks
💧🌧️💧🌧️💧🌧️💧🌧️💧🌧️💧🌧️💧🌧️💧🌧️💧🌧️💧🌧️
Rainy day Headcannons for quil, embry, seth and jacob,
Tumblr media
~Quil ateara~
Most days raining or not are spent on patrol with the pack in the woods,
But the times he does have with you, you both sit on the porch with tea, coffee, or hot chocolate, and a blanket and cuddle, he's so warm, but if you're a wolf too then no blanket,
"I love you so much" his pretty brown eyes sparkling, he looks so love struck when he looks at you sometimes,
Sweet baby boy smiles a lot when you're with him, you cuddle and talk about everything & anything, he likes playing with your hair that lays on your back & the back of your neck or around your face,
The wolf boys love feeling their imprint's warm skin on theirs, his hand on your skin somehow, if you're ok with it of course,
Reading to him or him reading to you cuddled together for awhile.
) Jacob black (
He honestly wants nothing more than to eat dinner and take a nap with you in his dark room listening to the rain hit the roof, or take a nap midday and shut the curtains,
(he can't sleep in anything but complete darkness) he kisses you on the forehead and drifts off to sleep knowing you're safe and asleep against him, (also he snores but pretty quietly).
- > Embry call < -
(as I've said) he would want to go camping, you two don't even have to be far away from yours or his house,
he would put up the tent with or without your help before the rain starts (and put the rain tarp on of course)
You two would eat whatever you brought or eat inside before going out to the tent, but what he really wants is what he calls (the best sleep he's ever gotten)
If you're a shifter or not he still sleeps shirtless, if you're not, he'll keep you warm but if you are then you'll keep each other warm,
he'd honestly want as much skin content with you as you're comfortable with while you sleep, he loves sleeping in the warm tent listening to the wind and rain with you (it is the best sleep he's had) ;)
// Seth clearwater //
I feel he'd want to take a walk with you while it rains, wearing rain coats and boots he doesn't need them maybe neither do you but since he wants to walk around in public places with you it would be pretty weird to be barefoot and not dressed for the rain walking around forks,
Maybe check out some stores and/or just walk around, but holding hands is mandatory, talking about whatever's going on in yours and his busy or slow week,
Stop to eat and make a cute little date out of it (like this wasn't his plan all along)
Running into an old family friend and watching him grin sheepishly when they say how cute you two are. "ha, thanks."
Bringing back some dinner for leah and their mom, and when you get to his room he gives you the hoodie/jacket/sweater he was wearing because it's so warm and smells like him and his body wash/cologne
He puts something else on and you two watch movies with leah and his mom, not caring if you fall asleep on each other,
A/n thanks for reading ☺️🫧
stupid and heartbroken. [Embry Call x reader]
 You and Leah Clearwater have something in common, heartbreak and a inclining to stupid decisions. Slowly you and Leah find the secrets of the Reservation that took your best friend, Embry, slowly unravel themselves to you. But not without a little blood, tears, and love.
word count; 2.5k
PART ONE PART TWO PART THREE
     Chapter three: explanations at Emily’s.
Embry, Bella and I rode in the front of the truck. I sat between them. Bella and Embry made light conversation. Jared was in the back; I could imagine how it felt to have the wind gliding across him. It’d be better than having Embry and Bella stuffed in next to me, my thighs touching Embry’s.
“Drive me home.” I said, my throat dry. I didn’t want to go to Emily’s. I wanted to go home. I didn’t want any part of this. “Or take me to Leah’s.”
Embry’s voice was soft as he told me that Emily’s house was safe and that they needed to explain to me what I saw. Bella assured me too. I didn’t want any part of this. I looked at Embry, he had deep circles under his eyes. His posture frail and his nails had obviously been bitten. He looked horrible, a small part of me was bitter that he deserved to feel like shit. That it wasn’t fair what he did. But an even smaller part of me felt a hallow ache within my heart. That ache grew bigger as we turned into Emily’s. it felt weirdly good to sit next to him, to be within his space, he sat straighter than he had in weeks.
I’d only been to Emily’s a handful of times when I wasn’t close with Leah and went to buy the vegetables she sells. The house was covered in flowers and plants, it was beautiful. Jared went in talking with Bella about something I couldn’t be bothered to listen. I’d decided I would sleep in Bella’s truck and would do nothing about what has just happened, I’ll sleep then Bella will come back and drive me to Leah’s.
“Come on sleepy head.” Embry said, lightly pulling me out of the truck. Clearly aware of my plans to sleep away the issue I was avoiding. I wanted to burrow within myself. Curse Bella for making me come all this way but I felt so perfectly seen in Embry’s arm.
“I really hate you; you know.” I whispered to him, keeping my voice steady and monotone. I wanted to be mean. To hurt him. He sighed and said he knows. I didn’t hate him, it’s like what Leah said. You are angry at what the situation is not the person you love. I was certain she didn’t love Sam anymore. Any crumb of that had been washed away. But she loved Emily, deeply and unequivocally. She was angry at her and had told me she felt physically sick when she last saw her but knows she’s grieving the relationship they had. When all of this first happened, before I’d met Leah, she’d been so angry at what had happened she’d trashed Sam’s place. Turned it upside down. She didn’t regret it though; she’d do it again. She just wished she’d stayed longer to spit in his face. Her mom had told her that she shouldn’t take her anger out like this, the people around Leah expected her to cry. Leah didn’t cry, Leah screamed. I hurt with my words, she hurt with her actions. ‘It’s like they underestimate how I am,’ she’d told me once, laughing about how Jacob’s dad compared the pair of us and how we didn’t cry. She was methodical and cruel; it was addictive to watch.
A soothing voice called my name as I stepped inside, Embry’s arm still wrapped around me. Emily’s long hair framed her face, dark and straight. She had a large scar that dominated her face and arm but was still as beautiful as ever. She hugged me. I was completely stunned, my arms hesitantly wrapped around her. What the fuck. She whizzed back to the kitchen. I stayed to the door. Bella was sat at the table talking to Jared and now Embry who looked back at me.
“Please come sit.” He gestured to the chair beside him. I sat next to Bella instead. Jared winced and Embry looked away, they started talking about wolves and vampires, debating speed and agility. Then Sam came in, complimenting Bella’s ease with this information. I watched as he made a beeline for Emily, kissing her lips and then her scar. He held her waist with such a gentle tenderness I wanted to vomit. Someone called my name again and my eyes moved up to glare at Sam as he spoke, asking how I was feeling. I didn’t respond. Filling the silence Jacob and Paul came in, Paul apologised to Bella and Jacob took Bella outside to explain something. Jared and Paul spoke so loudly I felt as if Sam wouldn’t ask me again. I didn’t want to talk to him. Or be here. I didn’t want to be involved with this [HE(1] shit. My ribs began to tighten, lungs constricted, and it felt like they were filling with salt water again.
“I take it you don’t want to be a part of all this, I get it.” Sam said, his voice strong and stern. I hated that I felt comforted by his presence like he was my older brother.
“I don’t know what this is.” I was surprised at how solid my voice sounded, I was convinced it would be weak and fail me. Sam sat down beside Emily and tried telling me the legends. “I already know the legends.” I interrupted; I expected him to be annoyed at the very least at how rude I was being, but he didn’t he was calm. He looked relived that I’d even stayed here. I could just get up and leave but I didn’t know where Bella was, and I couldn’t just leave her alone.
“Well, they’re all true, and we’d appreciate it if you didn’t tell anyone.” I was about to make a snide comment about no sane person believing me then he added “not even Leah.” The entire kitchen went silent. I guess her name didn’t get mentioned much. “He carefully explained imprinting to me, like he was explaining how to diffuse a bomb as a whole town waited in pained agony. I looked at Embry, his eyes weak. Bile rose in my throat. I looked away, not knowing why I was still here.
Fuck this. My fingers burned as I dug my nails into my palms. I saw Embry move out of the corner of my eye. He shifted in his chair, swallowing something painful. I needed to find Bella and leave, give them a false promise and tell Leah everything, not leave her in the dark like Sam did. I felt drawn to Embry’s side, despite everything, despite myself. I wanted to burrow myself within him, know him better, understand him utterly. Let him give himself to me. As the door opened, I was saved, Bella’s cold hand on my shoulder to let me know she was ready to leave. I got up, quick, abandoning the table. Voices calling my name, Embry’s stood out even though it was the quietest. Maybe I was just too focused on him. I practically ran out of the front door, telling Bella how ‘shitty’ and ‘stupid those shit asses’ were.
“Bella take me to Leah’s.” I could see the apprehension in her face before I looked at her, my gaze still firm on the lush greenery. “Now.” My voice was solid. An old oak tree. Rooted in the grounds of dirt and pain, sweet and bitter. She didn’t protest, sucking in a breath she turned the old truck around heading back into the heart of the reservation, the Clearwater’s. It was late afternoon at this point, the hours went by so fast I barely noticed. Sue was in the front of the house setting up for a family party, one that I’d been invited to of course. As I got out of the truck, I muttered a half-hearted goodbye to Bella, slamming the door a little too hard. I hope she knows I’m not angry with her, but I wouldn’t tell her.
“Go get Leah to come help me.” Sue said as she stopped me for a hug. She smelt like citrus and sandalwood, she smelt like home. My spirits would’ve been lifted if I couldn’t shake the image from my head. Embry sat at that table, slight yet large, eyes dark, pained and never leaving me. Party decorations swarmed the home, some cousin’s birthday or uncle’s anniversary. Leah’s door was shut completely, as usual. But when I opened it, her voice echoed in an angry yell. I walked through and saw her sickly figure. Sweating and panting, red nose and dark eye bags. She was taller somehow, leaner, stronger. She exhaled when she saw me. Not noticing the reclusive way I held myself.
“Thought you were my mom.” She said turning around and grabbing something from the floor. Her pillows and blankets, she must’ve thrown them off as she slept. Her movements were heavy, sluggish. It reminded me of Embry before this all happened. “Pick an outfit for me,” she said, a smile forcing her lips. Leah wouldn’t tell me if she was sick, that I knew. But this would just be the flu. Only the men of the tribe turn when forced to and Leah wasn’t a man, all the sleepovers we’ve had I knew that much. I picked out a T-shirt and baggy jeans, taking one of her dresses to wear myself. As we changed, she started to just look at me.
“what’s wrong?” I laughed.
“I’m so tired.” Her fingers began playing with the duvet as she sat down on her bed, now made. “Like I keep getting so angry it’s like nothing else is even happening. I keep fighting with my mom, more than usual. And..” she trailed off looking out of the window. I sat next to her grabbing her hand and placing it in my lap.
“And?”
“And I can tell you’re hiding something from me.” Shit. How the hell could she tell? If werewolves are real witches are and Leah Clearwater was a mindreading witch. After a few seconds of not saying anything I can’t hold it in anymore, screw Sam Uley. Fuck Embry and fuck all this shit. Leah is the only person who deserves an answer. All I can think about is her, when I eat sleep and breathe all it is, is Leah. How we spoke about the apocalypse and if it ever happened that we’d survive and get a farm, killing anyone in our way for each other.
“I am. I need to tell you now” before I can, before my lungs can bring in air again Sue bursts into the room, talking about family being here and how we both need to get out now, she grabs our wrists and pulls us away. Leah and I look at each other, I with desperation and Leah with a festering anger that is morphing her face. The afternoon air hits me with a welcomed delight. Which is suddenly vomit inducing once I see Sam Uley and his pack of puppies stood around the garden, talking with neighbours or family members of the Clearwater’s.
“I’ll tell you later.” I whisper once Sue lets us go. “I promise.” She doesn’t look like she believes me. I wouldn’t either but I have to tell her.
The sweet afternoon falls into a dark evening slowly and painfully but I stay by Leah’s side throughout, begging for a spare moment where one of the pack aren’t in earshot but those assholes are always fucking near. It’s actually fine when its Quill, at least he entertains us but when it was Embry near I wanted to cry, slouched and frail he stood forcing a choked laugh at Harry Clearwater’s joke. It wasn’t funny. I knew he was watching me, when Leah’s arm went around me, he straightened, it seemed like a spike of jealousy mixed with pure raged flew through him. Leah was so warm, like burning warm but it was freezing, and the dress didn’t offer much for warmth.
“Can I talk to you?” A voice asked, pulling me out of my thoughts. It was the one I couldn’t stop thinking about, Embry.
“She doesn’t want to talk to you, fuck off.” Leah almost shouted, her voice rumbling from the deepest part of her chest. I assured her it was fine and mustered all my might to stand up, holding my own arms for warmth as I left Leah’s side.
“I’m sorry for how this happened, I didn’t want you to find out. But I did even though I didn’t want to.” He rambled trying to sort through his mind. I couldn’t interrupt him even if I tried. “But I don’t want you to think this is the only reason I like you, that the truth is I’ve felt this way since we were kids and nothing changed it. That I’m sorry I left but if I’d you know, in front of you. I think our situation would be a lot worse.” I think of Emily and the scar across her face and body. He’d felt like this for so long but when did he know. Know that he… and I…
“When.” I demanded, staring into his eyes with a fire so uncontrollable it burned me. “when did you know it was me,” this would be a really bad time to vomit but oh god it was just so much. I could smell the fire and the food, hear everyone talking about different things and feel his breath on me, warm and hot. His hands on my waist and arm. Letting out a shaky breath he told me the one thing that had been crushing me since the day it happened.
“I was there when you were cliff diving, I was phased and watching you, and” he breathed onto me, his forehead pressing against mine. “And I knew then, I’m sorry.” I looked into his eyes, into him. Seeing him for himself for the first time in weeks. It felt as if my head was lighter, a feeling no drug I’d tried could emulate. As our lips connected, moving in a sweet and perfect sync his hand that held my arm moved to the back of my head. We moved closer, his warm body melting into me. My head was fuzzy, light and sweet. Tongues moved in a fluid motion, as one. His warm arms around me, one of mine cupping his cheek the other raking through his hair.
But before we could move apart on our own accords my body was gently thrown behind him, screams and yells followed two seconds later. A tree log was thrown in our direction, Embry deflected it. The lights were a blur as I stood up, his arm around me. Leah was shaking, screaming at her mom, as her body shifted, morphed. Bones snapped and changed, she was a wolf. Large and scared. This wasn’t supposed to happen. She ran into the wood line. Sam, Paul and Jared all ran after her shifting into the woods. Harry Clearwater fell to the ground, hand gripping his chest. We ran over, I pulled Seth away. His eyes were huge and scared he couldn’t look away.
end of chapter three.
 an/ sorry for the late upload! i thought i uploaded this last week! I've been struggling recently but writing this made me feel so much better, i hope it makes someone feel at least the smallest bit better for reading it. Has anyone else watched all of TLOU? Our beloved actor Graham Greene was in it! I'm planning to rewatch the game plays of part two. Leah and the readers friendship is borderline romantic, they care for each other so deeply and intimately it would be hard to ignore it. Asks are open! colourblind is coming. i love you, take care. -em x
The Dance
*I hope ya’ll enjoy!*
Tumblr media
When Embry had asked you to the school dance, you were elated. You had liked him for so long and the thought that maybe he liked you back was bewildering. You had gone shopping for a new dark blue knee-length dress and matching heels. You had done your makeup and curled your hair, just for this special night. You currently sat on your porch bench, looking at the time. You were ready a little early so you weren't too worried that he wasn't here yet. Several minutes passed and it hit six-thirty, the time he was supposed to pick you up. You waited to hear his mom's car drive up the driveway, but when it hit seven, when the dance began, and there was no car in sight, you began to worry. What if he wasn't coming? What if something had happened on the way over? You took your phone, dialing his number but it went straight to voice-mail. That was unusual. He always answered your calls. At seven-thirty, you accepted he wasn't coming but still sat out on the porch, feeling heartbroken at his absence. At eight-forty, a truck started to pull into the driveway, one you recognized as Jacob's. He parked and got out, wearing a tux and tie.
"He didn't show, I take it?" He asked gently, coming to sit beside you.
"No… he didn't come," you sighed, looking down at your hands.
"You look beautiful, you know," he said, trying to lighten the mood.
"I'm so stupid," you replied, tears coming to your eyes, "Why did I get my hopes up?"
"It's not like him to do this," he began, reaching over to grab your hand, "But he has been acting differently lately. I saw him with Sam's group earlier today. I had a feeling that he wouldn't show."
"I feel so stupid," you began crying, wiping furiously at your wet eyes.
"You're not stupid, he is," he replied, squeezing your hand, "He's missing out on a beautiful and great girl. That's his loss."
"Yeah? Then why do I feel so crappy?" You sniffled, wiping at your eyes again.
"You know what? It's a shame nobody got to see you all dressed up like this," he spoke, letting go of your hand and pulling his phone out, "Let me call Quil and his cousin. We can get a group together to hang out at the beach."
"I don't really feel like going anywhere," you sighed, looking over at him.
"It'll make you feel better, I promise!" You caved and let him call Quil, making plans to meet at the beach. He got you loaded into his truck and drove down to the beach. When you got there you saw Quil, his cousin, and a few of your friends from Forks. You smiled at how everyone came dressed up like you. "See, already a smile."
"Okay, I do feel a little better," you replied before getting out of the truck and making your way down to the beach where the others started a small bonfire.
"Hey, ______!" Quil came over and gave you a hug, "Glad you could come! I'm sorry for how Embry is acting. He's being a jerk."
"Thanks," you smiled sadly, sitting down on one of the logs that surrounded the bonfire, Quil joining one side and Jacob the other side. You spent the next hour laughing and joking around with everyone. As you looked out to the distance, you saw Embry and Sam's group walking to another fire pit.
"Did you hear me?" You were brought back by Jacob's words, watching as he followed your eyesight and spotted Embry. He got Quil's attention before they started to get up. You reach out, putting a hand on both of their arms.
"It's not worth it, guys," you tried to stop them from going over but Jacob just brushed you off.
"Like hell it isn't," he sounded angry and stomped his way over to the group, you and Quil on tow trying to stop him. As you got closer, you heard them all joking around and laughing before one of them, Paul you think, nudged Sam and pointed out you approaching. Sam came forward, meeting Jacob just outside the group.
"What do you need?" Sam spoke quietly, watching Jacob before looking over and Quil and you, "It's best you leave."
"I don't have anything to say to you," Jacob said loudly, glaring over Sam's shoulder at Embry who had just noticed everyone, "I have a bone to pick with that jerk over there." You sighed, putting your hand on Jacob's arm again, trying to pull him away.
"I think we should listen to Sam," you said, Quil nodding beside you, "It's not worth it."
"Saying it's not worth it is saying you aren't worth it," Jacob turned to you, a scowl on his face. He huffed and turned back, "I want to speak with Embry."
"You should listen to the girl," Sam said, "Just turn around and leave."
"It's alright, Sam," Embry said, stepping beside Sam, "I'll be fine." Sam watched him for a little bit before nodding, walking back to the group, "What do you need, Jacob?"
"What do I need? I need you to explain how you could even fathom treating _____ like you did tonight," Jacob spoke loudly, pushing Embry's chest.
"I can't," Embry said softly, avoiding looking at any of the three of you.
"You can't or you won't," Jacob challenged, "What you did tonight is unforgivable. I can't believe how big of a jerk you're being."
"Jacob, can we just go," you asked quietly, pulling on his arm once again, "I just want to go home."
"Not yet," Jacob replied, glaring at Embry, "Not until he apologizes." He waited for Embry to say something but nothing came out of his mouth, "Well?"
"I… I'm sorry, _____," Embry looked over at you but you avoided looking at him,  "I can't explain but… I am really sorry." You sighed, finally looking up at him. You saw him freeze as he caught your gaze, his mouth opening as if to say something but nothing came out.
"There, he said it," you looked back to Jacob, "Can we go now?"
"Almost," Jacob said, pulling back his arm and punching Embry across the cheek, knocking him onto the ground as he was still looking at you and didn't see it coming, "Now we can go." You saw Sam's group watching, coming over when Embry went down, looking pissed. Jacob turned around and grabbed your hand, pulling you away with Quil in tow.
"Why did you punch him?" You asked as Jacob took you to his truck, saying goodbye to Quil before getting in to drive you home.
"Because he deserved it," he said plainly, shrugging his shoulders. You looked over as he gripped his fist in his lap, "That hurt like a bitch, though."
"Thank you for defending my honor," you smiled slightly at him, shaking your head before looking out the window.
"Anytime, _____, you're one of my best friends," Jacob pulled into your driveway and got out, opening your door for you,  "Have a good night, okay?" You nodded, hugging him lightly before going inside for the night.
