opiate recovery update aka im mildly fucked this time

So this morning I woke up, ate some breakfast and had a coffee (yumyum) then downed my prescribed dose of drugs to get me through the next day.

NOW! my bad choices i made last week, HAS caused me to run out of my supply of drugs, till my next doctor visit for new script. SOOOO,in essence, tomorrow,, and like the next 3-4 days, I,have nothing, I am totally terrified.

SO the moral of this story, if you are tapering off drugs.. MAKE FUCKING!! SURE! u give your stash, to someone to dish out to u daily. NO matter how, disciplined, you think you are, if u have access to your taper stash, YOU WILL most likely, just end up abusing it. this is super important imho

sadly im gonna have to do some hustle to get me through the next few days. BUT, i will say quietly, im looking forward to not having anything tomorrow. ehhh lol

I’ve only ever shot E coast heroin but I just knew the dope i had was complete trash. I shot it & everything. But im basically trying to have like a dealer or at least someone let me know areas i can go to, to buy some harder drugs. Back home i knew who to hit up and where to go but idk shit being in a new city. Im lookin to get pills to heroin and some shrooms and acid. Ive sniffed some crystal a couple times but im more of a downer guy. Im not a big coke guy either unless im doing a speedball with some dope. If anyone could message me either areas i can go to or some fucking shit. The weed is good but when it comes to drugs the 3 people I know only have xanax. And not even any greens or yellows or blues. Only white ones. & sometimes they’re pressed as fuck.

Time for Open & Honest Discussion About Our Substance Abuse Epidemic… Let Your Voice Be Heard...

Data continues to show that alcohol and other addictions remain epidemic, contribute greatly to hospital and prison occupancy, dramatically decrease workplace productivity, and are a leading contributor to fatalities in the US. It will also confirm that there are four times as many problem drinkers as alcoholics in this country and that nine out of ten of these people avoid conventional treatment. Other studies, including one conducted by AA, suggest that only 3-5 percent of those who first attend a meeting can be counted a year later. Regardless of this research, most treatment facilities in the US remain based on 12-step models. Americans, privately and through public funds, will spend at least $10-12 billion in treatment facilities this year.

My hope is that this year those seeking treatment for themselves or loved ones, or those making recommendations for others will consider, embrace and expand the dialog and knowledge about available treatment options.

I want to acknowledge the contribution AA has made to those it has helped. However, the numbers are just too staggering not to explore alternatives for those not being served well by 12-step approaches. There are viable, evidence-based alternatives, well accepted and established in other countries, which might better suit the complex and individualized needs of people suffering with substance abuse problems. I want to suggest some important questions for expanding the treatment dialog in the US:

Since the one-size-fits-all approach of 12-step programs only works for 5 percent of people, what alternative treatments are available?

What has three decades of scientific research shown? Why are so many conventional addiction professionals reluctant to accept and share the findings?

Are the rights of people suffering from substance abuse being compromised by the lack of information sharing in the recovery industry?

Is mandating or prescribing only one treatment ethical? What is the legal trend in your state regarding 12-step programs?

There are four times as many problem drinkers as there are “alcoholics” in the U.S. What options are available to them?

The sooner we can admit that whatever’s been the norm so far, hasn’t worked, the quicker a real solution can be found for those still suffering. I think some key components are:

· Increased Funding for More Research and More Appropriate Availabilities for Effective Treatments

· Understand that Substance Abuse is Just a Symptom, so Root Must Be Addressed (i.e. Early Childhood Trauma)

· Wider Access/Dissemination of Information to both Professionals And General Public… Knowledge is Power!

· Interpersonal Relationships, Our Connections with Others is Vital

· Many People with Addictions Have Co-Occurring Disorder (i.e. Anxiety or Bipolar), Which Must Also Be Addressed

· Some People Will Require Medication At Some Point, Often in Combination with Therapy

· Don’t focus on the concept of addiction being an incurable disease. Whether it is or isn’t a disease can be debated with many facts one way or the other…what truly matters is that people have the ability to fully recover – and shouldn’t that be the focus?
