"Everything is blooming most recklessly; if it were voices instead of colours, there would be an unbelievable shrieking into the heart of the night." (Rainer Maria Rilke)

Your sorrows once sought solace in company
But those who were once yours have long gone
Those who would genuflect as you passed
Who once lined your streets are long gone
Put off by your willfulness at love
The waiting nights chose not to stay
Dismayed by my patient fortitude
Those who once comforted me are long gone
Neither a call for lovers tryst, nor a sorrowful petition
Neither unending tales nor nagging complaints
In this your world I remain, afflicted
Those privileges my heart once held are long gone

MARCH by William Cullen Bryant (1794-1878) The stormy March is come at last, With wind, and cloud, and changing skies, I hear the rushing of the blast, That through the snowy valley flies. Ah, passing few are they who speak, Wild stormy month! in praise of thee; Yet, though thy winds are loud and bleak, Thou art a welcome month to me. For thou, to northern lands, again The glad and glorious sun dost bring, And thou hast joined the gentle train And wear’st the gentle name of Spring. And, in thy reign of blast and storm, Smiles many a long, bright, sunny day, When the changed winds are soft and warm, And heaven puts on the blue of May. Then sing aloud the gushing rills And the full springs, from frost set free, That, brightly leaping down the hills, Are just set out to meet the sea. The year’s departing beauty hides Of wintry storms the sullen threat; But in thy sternest frown abides A look of kindly promise yet. Thou bring’st the hope of those calm skies, And that soft time of sunny showers, When the wide bloom, on earth that lies, Seems of a brighter world than ours. #hellomarch #march1st #marchblessings #march #marchpoetry #marchmadness #poems #poem #poetic #poet #poetry #poems #poetryofinstagram #classicpoetry #Spiritique #mindfulness #Spiritual #Spirituality #mystical #mystique #mystic #mysticisim #spring #springseason #springsummer #summer #summerseason #summerrains #ostara #springequinox #blessedbe https://www.instagram.com/p/CpNoEXVyEij/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Cardigan
and I lay, with my face
buried in your cardigan
an empty bed, an empty head
was it always this cold?

"So when at last the Angel of the drink Of Darkness finds you by the river-brink, And, proffering his Cup, invites your Soul Forth to your Lips to quaff it—do not shrink." (Omar Khayyam)
Art by Edmund Dulac
Persian polymath Omar Khayyam's "Rubaiyat" in the 1859 translation of Edward Fitzgerald can be cherished along with Dulac's gorgeous Illustrations below - and the influence on the European fin de siècle is almost tangible...

Hopeless Romantic In this world of romantic dreamers called poets We shall forever live in a poem Where words run deep and periods don't exist I think of you and my heart flutters You are the most beautiful form of art I have ever written You are the single rose I need I am infatuated by the desire of wanting to be in love We are two love struck teenagers Watching the stars and whispering about love into the passionate wind Promising forever against each other's lips Keeping each other warm in a tight embrace of endearing romance I dream of you the way one writes to breathe I dream of you as if you truly were my lover The more I write the more real we become The more memories and moments I conjure up You are simply a dream of my crush This poem is written for me There is no us But I like to dream through string of words and poems I am a hopeless romantic writing about a boy who will never notice her But with every poem I write I bring us alive In a world where no one can find us This is all but a dream called a poem Written by romantic dreamers called poets #fairytaletuesday #fairytale #fairytaleflash #poems #poem #poetic #poet #poetry #poems #poetryofinstagram #classicpoetry #onceuponatime #hopelessromantic #lostprincess #powerfulprincess #Spiritique #mindfulness #Spiritual #Spirituality #mystical #mystique #mystic #mysticisim #renaissance #renaissanceart #folk #folklore #folkspirits #folkmystic #fantasy https://www.instagram.com/p/ChW8a_ppps3/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
