Warnings: Mentions of death, killing, curses, swears, blood
ᴹᵃˢᵗᵉʳˡᶤˢᵗ
𝑺𝑭𝑾🌿
𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲: Followed by Death Eaters at the height of Voldemort’s power, you’re both cornered with no way out. You thought you had no choice but to fight to the death, and that meant using an Unforgiveable Curse. *For Draco’s, the roles are reversed and snatchers/werewolves/vampires are trying to kill you*
𝐆𝐞𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐞
・Looks at you differently but swears he’s fine with your decision
・You can feel the shift though, and after a few weeks of this awkward tension, you bring it up
   “George, can we talk?”
“Sure, what’s up?” He barely looks up from the parchment he’s writing on.
“George, George-” You walk over and take the quill from his hands
“Oi-”
    “Look at me!”
He stares up at you for a few beats and you nearly die inside. He’s never looked at you like that before.
“Yes?” Was all he could say.
“Do you still love me?”
Your heart shattered at his response.
・After the Battle of Hogwarts you found each other again, and George dropped to his knees and apologised. Because now he understood.
𝐋𝐮𝐧𝐚
・Nonjudgemental.
・You were harder on yourself than she was, than anyone was.
“You did what you had to,” she said in her high-pitched, flowy voice
・And when you kept beating yourself up, she plucked a flower from a nearby bush and put it behind your ear
“Hmmm, still as beautiful as you were before.”
・Your heart leapt and you knew she still saw you as the person you were before.
・And you thought others would make fun of you for it, call you out on it, but no one did. Not a single person. From fear, from understanding, from not caring. Whatever it was, you had worried for nothing.
𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐝
・Felt a little inferior to you
・Like his partner was cooler than he was
・It wasn’t until George pointed out the severity of it that Fred ... saw you as even ... cooler x2
“They did something that barely anyone has the guts to do. I’m proud I’m with someone so brave.”
・Isn’t so stupid that he makes jokes about it though
・But he does make a few to lighten the mood whenever it’s brought up in a group setting
𝐂𝐡𝐨
・Bit of a similar mindset to Ron actually, and because of her open mind Cho thought you acted appropriately
  “Thank you for protecting us.”
・The fact that you did that curse doesn’t change how she sees you
・Because Cho is one of those people who sees others as grey - she understands that not everything is black and white. People are multidimensional, and if anything, she feels a deep sense of gratitude.
・Almost like you sacrificed an innocent part of yourself to make sure that others were safe
・Which is actually very brave
𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐲
・You did something that he wanted to do for years
・So he was in a mixed mind - both awed and jealous
・But he isn’t mad, or upset with you. He doesn’t see you any differently either.
・Harry has experienced horrible things since his childhood - thanks to the Dursleys, and if many times he’s imagined performing a few on them (he wouldn’t actually do it though).
・Has a feeling that you won’t be the only one having to perform those curses
・And like Ginny, he believes you’re on the good side, so you aided the side of good
𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐞
・She gets upset
・Because she always wants to be a few steps ahead
・So the fact that you had to perform an Unforgivable Curse meant she wasn’t on the ball
・She apologises to you, and sobs in your lap. She loves you so much and never wants you to experience such horrible things. You console her, and probably cry yourself.
・So ... in a way she sees it as her making you do that
・But you remind her that she can’t be perfect all the time, and you make your own choices
・She says what happened can just stay between the two of you if you wanted
𝐑𝐨𝐧
・Thought you did what you had to, and doesn’t judge you for it. Not at all.
・He would’ve done the same, if it weren’t for your quick actions
・When others judge you for it, he defends you
“You’d be dead if they didn’t act, you should be grateful!”
・Found your forward-thinking...kinda sexy
・In his head he’s like ‘Yeah! That’s my baby! She/He/They’ll fuck you up!”
・It makes him feel safer around you actually, he knows you’d do whatever you have to to keep both you and him safe
𝐆𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐲
・Was grateful that you acted as quickly as you did
・What she most felt was curiosity- why you decided to use that particular curse, where did it come from, and had you been thinking about it a lot?
・So for many days, she asked a million questions
・You never felt belittled or judged by her though
・Because she’s definitely chaotic good.
・And she believes you’re both on the good side of this war, so you took out one of the bad guys
・If anyone gives you shit for it, then she OBLITERATES them
・Gives you great advice:
“What we do trying to survive doesn’t define who we are.”
𝐍𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞
・The most bothered by it
・ It really, really bothered him
・Because of his parents, Neville despises Unforgivable Curses
・He understands why you chose to do it, but it still made him sick to his stomach
・Neville’s perception of you changed from that day on. He associated you with something darker
・Your relationship took a toll
・And Neville was extremely distant
・You apologised but stood by your decision to use that particular curse. You saved both yours and Neville’s lives
・After some time he understood it, but still he saw you as a different person
・But he still loved you, and got to know that new way of perceiving you
𝐃𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐨
・The second least bothered out of the group by it
・He’s heard many Unforgivable Curses in his lifetime due to his family members (i.e., his father & Aunt Bellatrix)
・Is still a tad shocked because you were supposed to be the more moral person out of the two of you
“It deserved it,” Draco sneered, spitting on the dead corpse of the vampire
・You earned a bit of a reputation - people were way more intimidated by you now. And Draco loves it.
・Now you both have a name for yourselves that people associate with fear
・But after the Battle of Hogwarts, things changed. So completely and incessantly.
・With Voldemort defeated and Draco’s new perspective, he now saw what you meant
・He hated his father, he hated his upbringing but he hated how obsessed he was with seeming ... evil

Cho Chang
Headcanons

One thing it hit me when I was scrolling through Harry Potter stuff and I was like, "Oh lord....how did they survive 7 years in Hogwarts" and it was "HOW THE FUCK did the Patil Twins and Cho Chang like not freak out at the fact that Hogwart's Food had no Rice or Noodles"
Like Hogwarts is British, the amount of Rice they are going to get would be from Welsh Rice Puddings, Irish Dunmurry Rice and low chance of Cornish Game Hens with Wild Rice Stuffing, but OH HELL NAW there are no Noodles.
Cho Chang and the Patil Twins must be screaming internally being like,
"Where the Fuck is my Briyani?"
"Where is my Mala Xiang guo when I NEED IT?"
"What do you mean there isn't Chongqing Mian?"
"They don't even have Tikka Masala? WTF?"
And so in Every Fibre of my being, my headcanon is that the Patil Twins and Cho Chang hang out at each other's Houses so they can finally get their Asian Food.
They also make Electricity or Steaming spells to run a Rice Cooker or just Steam a bowl of Rice they got from a bag of Rice and packets of Noodles they brought from home.
Imagine waking up in the Middle of the Night and it's just Cho Chang studying near the Fireplace while having a whole set of Guò Qiáo Mǐxiàn, like she got a platter of Quail Eggs, Ham Slices, Chicken Slices, Vegetables, Rice Vermicelli and a pot of Hot Boiling Soup from her Cauldron Levitating over the fire in the fireplace and just looks at you and be like, "Sup"

Cho Chang for the random character ask: 4, 9, 12, 27, 43
cho! this was actually so fun to think about. cho is an underrated character and a boss bitch and i for one have relished the opportunity to think more deeply about her, so cheers for that anon! (i'm merging the other ask i got about cho with this one for a bumper cho post)
Tumblr media
1. Canon I outright reject
i do not tend to outright reject canon because i am a boring yawn canon compliant girlie but i will say i find it weird to think that cho would be randomly checking/carrying her DA coin on the night that harry just happens to arrive back at hogwarts in DH. it’s not even for plot it’s just for the ensemble vibes. pointless cameo sorry! the whole point of failed high school romances is to never resolve them and just memory block them out for all eternity until you bump into them in the veg section at the big supermarket when you go home for christmas and make awkward small talk then see them again at the checkouts and want to die
2. A canon or headcanon hill I will die on
part of the reason cho was so (understandably) distraught after cedric's death was because of a dynamic in their relationship of cho revering/idolising cedric that only deepened after his death as he became somewhat canonised in popular memory. when they got together, cedric was a seventh year and cho was a fifth year. often when you're 15/16 you definitely look at 17-18 year olds like they're the coolest people on the planet and you're lucky to be in their orbit basking in their great worldly wise glory (lol). and while i’m not doing up age-gap-is-problematic-discourse i am saying that if you're in the last year of school and your mate starts going out with someone two years below who is doing their GCSEs or whatever you do a) obviously take the piss out of them but more importantly b) tend to see a pretty big gap in maturity and life experience that often adds a weird power differential in the relationship. that's not to say that cho didn't really miss cedric's company, but also that the grief was made worse by the fact that she likely saw him as a saint-like figure she was in awe of, a view that only received mass endorsement after dumbledore's eulogy of cedric, so she's not even really able to mourn a real person, but just the idea of someone purely heroic and good who she will never be able to replicate again
4. Favorite line
“He asked me out, you know,” she said in a quiet voice. “A couple of weeks ago. Roger. I turned him down, though.”
in this house we stan 👏 petty 👏 queens 👏
or...
“What about your parents?” asked Harry. “Well, they’ve forbidden me to get on the wrong side of Umbridge too,” said Cho, drawing herself up proudly. “But if they think I’m not going to fight You-Know-Who after what happened to Cedric —”
actually huge props for cho for joining a resistance fight club with no parental support for anti-ministry action. because in canon you have the weasleys whose parents are so politically involved, and whose sense of political right and wrong is (bar percy) so instinctual because it's how they were raised, it can be easy to overlook how significant it is when other characters who don't come from that family background/political lineage get involved in risky acts of open rebellion. like yes her defence of marietta is misguided, but cho is a boss bitch who lets her grief be fuel for a good fightback and i for one applaud it
8. Unpopular opinion about them
ok this is going to sound like me doing up pure ginny defender but for all ginny gets slated for having many a jealous moment (including with cho in DH) i do think it is Interesting that people overlook how insanely jealous cho is of hermione lol. i do like that element of cho's character - or rather, think it lets her be well-rounded and interesting, giving an insight into how the trio are perceived by other members of the student body, but also allows cho have this messy petty teenage side to her (people often tend to write her in fic as this very worldly mature grieving widow figure, instead of like, a girl going thru it and wildly acting out emotionally and developing a whole host of insecure abandonment issues that are mostly to do with her grief). but i love how she like sees red and goes full how many girls are you meeting after me!!! alexa play bust your windows!!! i am going to storm out and YOU are going to pay for these coffees!!! so yeah, my unpopular opinion is cho is petty and messy and obviously harry fucks up more but she does kind of act up and you know what, that's fine! she's still worthy of the world! (you know all i do is ride on my let girls giggle and be messy crusade)
9. Scene that first made me love (or hate) the character
i stan the temper tantrum cho has when she loses the quidditch final. go girl have your strop! she’s just like me fr
12. Crack headcanon
cho's gang of girlies wore potter stinks badges in the dormitory after that horrendous date to cheer her up. and she was like yeah you know what! he does!
23. If they were a scented candle, what would they smell like?
ohhh man i am going to have to pass on this because i literally cannot name any smells. she's too prestige and gorgeous to not smell lovely though!
28. How they feel about insert character of your choice from the same fandom
i am kind of obsessed with a cho vs ginny bitter rivalry that doesn't actually have all that much to do with harry lol. cho is two school years older than ginny (given ginny is an end-of-august birthday baby, cho fully could be three years older than her, given hermione is two calendar years older than ginny and is only in the year above). so ginny is a little pipsqueak irrelevance to cho, whereas i expect cho lives in ginny's head rent-free while she's still in the throes of her deep unrequited crush on harry. then ginny goes out with michael, cho's teammate, and is in the DA, so probably is around a lot more, maybe they're semi-friendly, all going fine - until ginny pops up for the quiddich final in ootp and publicly demolishes cho on the quidditch pitch. can you imagine being a (almost or actual) seventeen year old getting the snitch snatched from under your nose by gryffindor's fourteen year old second-rate substitute seeker (especially after a year of playing badly?) i'd be fuming. no wonder cho cries and chucks her broom on the ground. so then ginny chucks michael for being a 'sore loser' (i think this must have also been a bit connected to cho, if all ravenclaw are having a great big public sulk lol), and then michael immediately gets with cho (canon implies that evening lmao). even if ginny didn't care about michael all that much, there is something pretty galling about your ex moving on to your sporting rival an hour after you break up lmao, and something very messy from cho to try and get back at the girl who just beat you by immediately hooking up with her ex lol. you can just imagine michael and cho bitterly slagging off ginny in between snogs at that post-match commiseration party. and then the following year, when ginny beats cho again, in a match cho 100% viewed as a re-match and a chance to finally best the person who humiliated her... i'm just saying, those two hate each other (at least as teenagers) and it doesn't even really involve harry lol. and i for one love it!
43. 3 favorite foods and 3 they despise
i am also bad at questions like these i'm so sorry 🫣 literally have no world/character-building capabilities to imagine people's favourite anythings. i do like the idea of cho being thoroughly unimpressed by the quality of the hogwarts cooking though! do i back a fleet of house elves living out their days in a castle in the scottish highlands to know their way around any kind of asian cuisine? no i do not. cho would have every right to fume

warning: a lot of words and contemplation
wow, draco is definitely very vulnerable. i'm sure he's easily hurt, easily wounded. he'll analyze every word said, every look, every intonation. i strongly suspect that draco has a well-developed emotional intelligence, so he's really sensitive in these matters. usually, it's exactly those people who are used to hiding a tender heart behind a mask of cruelty who are the most sensitive.
harry, on the other hand, doesn't seem to be very smooth when it comes to feelings and emotions. undoubtedly, he has his sensitive points, and he can be touched by careless remarks too, but he doesn't take it as painfully. harry is like an open book when it comes to feelings. and he tends to judge people based on himself.
i can imagine that in harry/draco's relationship, they often encounter problems because of this. harry can easily offend draco without even realizing it. draco without showing his true feelings will only respond with bitter humor. and harry accustomed to this dynamic won't notice that something's wrong.
***
i think harry has some issues with empathy (no, he's not a psychopath, haha). i just remember how distant he was with cho chang in their relationship and how awkward their breakup was. the girl felt guilty for falling in love with harry when cedric had recently passed away. what would a caring and loving partner do? they would offer support. harry had been in love with her for two years and he in his own way mourned for cedric too. they understood each other well. i was sincerely surprised when in the book harry suddenly grew cold towards the girl because of her grief. it's like she could only be likable to him when she's happy.
the same thing happened with ginny. he never paid attention to her until she started dating other guys. it's like he confused ownership with love.
but harry has a heavy background, connected with the early loss of parents and the harsh treatment at home. in addition to all that, he was constantly under the threat of death. it's just difficult to stay mentally healthy in such circumstances.
***
returning to the topic of draco's high emotional intelligence, i'd like to add that it applies to everything. he can easily understand when someone is in love with him. draco doesn't suffer from low self-esteem. he carries himself well, coming from a wealthy family, and he kind of understands that many desire him. (whether he loves himself is another question!).
so, i can easily imagine how there was an awkward, lengthy conversation between him and pansy about her unwanted feelings. draco didn't want to lose a friend, but he also couldn't see himself with her as a couple.
therefore, when harry is just beginning to realize that he's in love with draco, draco has known this for a long time already. harry is not the most subtle person when it comes to emotions, so this change is easily discernible in him. especially to draco, who spent years covertly observing harry.
but if we consider the time after hogwarts, i see draco in a state of confusion and some agony. his whole world crumbled, there was a harsh reassessment of values. and he simply didn't want to drag harry along, even though all he ever dreamed of was harry's love.
(since i have a strong allergy to bad endings, harry and draco undergo therapy and stay together. draco forgives himself for past mistakes. between them, there is peace and harmony.)

Could I request headcaons for platonic reader who’s a medical witch and married to snape, dealing with reckless boy who lived Harry that ends up in the hospital wing way too many times and always fussing over him
Thanks for the request!
And thanks to @oceanblueeyesoul for helping me!
So everything is the same, Snape hates Harry.
But you can’t find a reason to, as Harry is just a sweet, accident-prone boy.
I feel like you and Snape wouldn’t have many arguments, as he normally just agrees with you, but Harry makes you two bicker a LOT.
You just don’t understand how Snape could automatically hate a child like that.
You understand that Snape is still hurt by how James treated him, but that does not give Severus the right to bully a literal child. You feel this way about all the children Snape is rude to.
Your fondness of Harry just makes Snape tougher on him in class.
Harry doesn’t tell you about it though, because he doesn’t wanna cause a problem in y’all’s marriage.
You and Harry are such good pals though
He goes into the hospital wing often, and always feels better knowing you’ll be there.
Your kinda the mother figure he never had, tbh. (Other than Molly)
It gets to the point where he just goes there to get advice from you or just vent.
You know all about his crush on Cho, and eventually Ginny.
He’s cried on your shoulder at least three times.
Snape walks in on Harry talking to you and laughing with you, and he gets so upset.
He feels like you don’t love him because Harry is the son of the man who bullied him his entire student career.
He tells you this one night, just out of the blue.
And you get mad, too.
Because why can’t he see that Harry is his own person?
And a CHILD??
You explain to him that it is so insensitive of Snape to assume things about a boy who has been through as much as Harry has.
Snape sees how passionate you are about this, and doesn’t quite agree still, but he doesn’t like it when your mad at him, so he lets it go.
Harry finds it odd how neutral Snape acts towards him after that night.
He’s not nice, but he’s not bullying him anymore.
He’s not really bullying any of the kids anymore.
He still favors the Slytherins, but beggars can’t be choosers ig-
Anyways, you and Harry still adore each other, and your one of his main supporters.
I hope you’ve enjoyed!

HEADCANON TIME
Cho Chang's name, was in fact, not Cho. As we know, Cho is a korean surname, and Cho, being chinese, would not have been named like that by her parents. No, her name was "Mochou", meaning "free of sadness". But at Hogwarts, her friends began calling her Cho, as a nickname, and it kinda stuck. Specially after becoming a quidditch player for Ravenclaw and lowkey kinda famous. She liked it, actually, as the name was something almost exclusive to her time at school.
Harry never knew this becouse he was never really that close to her, since she was in a bad place mentally after Cedric's death, and wasn't really in a possition to open up about personal things. We never get to know much about her becouse neither did he. Cedric did know about this, however, and Cho loved hearing her name, Mochou, from her boys' lips. It made her feel closer to him.

Harry Potter side headcanon
Hear me out, Hannah Abbott and Susan Bones dated from 4th year to a year after the war, a year after their breakup, Hannah gets a job at hogwarts and meets Neville. Later on, (about 12 years later) Susan's child starts at hogwarts. Hannah watches the little girl get sorted into Hufflepuff, meet a certain blond haired girl, and fall in love with her. A few years after the two girls graduate from Hogwarts, Hannah receives a wedding invitation, Susan's daughter and Hannah's daughter are getting married to eachother after being together since they were 12 years old. Hannah watched her daughter and Susan's daughter do what they always wanted. Hannah got closure in knowing her and Susan weren't meant to be together, but their children were.

Golden Trio Era/Orwell Chess: Ravenclaw Edition
Penelope Clearwater: ISTJ-A/Virgo/1987-1994/Half-Blood
The youngest sibling of the Clearwater family. Fifth-Year & Sixth-Year Prefect, Head Girl. Her favorite subjects were DADA and Potions. She was naturally observant, immediately able to tell if someone was lying to her. Ciel Phantomhive took this as a challenge and tried his best to confuse her—it did not work.
Roger Davis: ESFJ-A/Capricorn/1988-1995/Half-Blood
The older sibling of the Davis family. Ravenclaw Chaser (Fourth-Year to Seventh-Year), Ravenclaw Quidditch Captain. His favorite subjects were Charms & Flying. He had a natural charisma to him that made Luciel Phantomhive wonder if there was any Veela blood in him—he also attempted to ask Elizabeth Midford to the Yule Ball, only to be rejected by Ciel Phantomhive.
Cho Chang: ENFJ-T/Scorpio/1990-1997/Pure-Blood
The only child of an influential magic family—she had a choice to attend a magic school in Shanghai, but her father wanted Hogwarts. Ravenclaw Seeker (Second-Year to Sixth-Year). Her favorite subjects were Transfiguration and DADA. She joined in the recruiting campaign that Celaena had created, easily swaying the Ravenclaw students to fight on Harry’s side.
Padma Patil: INTP-T/Scorpio/1991-1998/Pure-Blood
The older twin between the Patil twins. Fifth-Year to Seventh-Year Prefect. Her favorite classes were Charms and Potions, making her adept at Healing Spells. She was at the SWW at Hogwarts, tending to everyone in the Great Hall that was safe by Dean Thomas’ runes.
Anthony Goldstein: ESTP-A/Libra/1991-1998/Half-Blood
An only child with a natural talent for Legilimency (from Queenie Goldstein no less). Fifth-Year to Seventh-Year Prefect. His favorite class was Charms and DADA. According to Celaena, he had great skill in being able to penetrate someone else’s mind but was also unable to shield his thoughts, making him rather vulnerable. He put it to good use in the recruitment campaign, helping Cho.
Terrence (Terry) Boot: ENTP-T/Virgo/1991-1998/Pure-Blood
Also, an only child within the Boot family. Ravenclaw Chaser (Third-Year onward). His favorite classes were Transfiguration and Charms, enjoying his obvious progress in his spell casting. He has a competitive streak, often competing with Hermione and even Draco within every class he could. It was amusing when they would be in a study group together either ending in efficient teamwork or chaos incarnate.
Michael Corner: ESFJ-A/Aries/1991-1998/Half-Blood
Only child who grew up under a single parent. His favorite classes were DADA and Potions, which helped immensely in the SWW. He actually broke into the Restricted Section many times during his Sixth and Seventh-Years, trying to concoct as many potions to help the cause. Celaena often turned a blind eye, assisting him as much as she could.
Sue Li: ENTJ-A/Virgo/1991-1998/Half-Blood
The eldest sibling of the Li family; her younger sister never attending Hogwarts. Her favorite subject was Astronomy and Arithmancy, figuring out patterns between the planetary movements and numbers. She aided within the Ministry reconstruction campaign, bringing outside perspective sorely needed. Her defensive spells were top-notch, nearly impenetrable with the exception of Celaena’s & Theodore Nott’s created spells.
Luna Lovegood: INFP-A/Aquarius/1992-1999/Pure-Blood
An only child of the editor of the Quibbler and a spell-developer. Her favorite subjects were Care of Magical Creatures and Potions (much to Celaena’s amusement). Her mother was actually developing a spell to destroy horcruxes that ultimately killed her, but Luna and Celaena were able to figure it out in 1995 together. Luna was a natural Occulmens, hiding her real thoughts under a layer of insanity—even Celaena had a hard time navigating through it.

Cho Chang's real name is...
Chao-Xing Chang. Chao-Xing means “morning star” in Chinese. Another great name for nature lovers, Chao-Xing, is beautiful and poetic. This is also an excellent name for your daughter if your family is Christian since the morning star represents the Son of God bringing light into the world. The teachers couldn't pronounce it, hence why it became Cho.

I have this headcanon that Ginny and Cho ended up same Quditch team Hollyhead Harpies and they became good friends. After the war, Ginny really could sympathize with Cho after thinking Harry was dead. Plus, we stan strong female quditch friendships
We do stan strong female quidditch friendships here as well.
But I don't think Cho and Ginny would become good friends. Nor do I think Cho would be able to get a spot on the Harpies.
If we pretend that they got on the same team, I do see them being good teammates and decent friends. Like have dinner once a year with their husbands. And them supporting each other on and off the pitch. That is unless Cho is still dating Michael Corner when her and Ginny become teammates. Then I don't see them forming a friendship closer than the average teammate friendship.
We know that Cho eventually married a muggle, and if that muggle was Dudley. I can imagine that it would be a weird situation. I would love to see it being explored.
