Snape: Potter, I’ve left a letter telling your guardian not to worry— Harry: They won’t. Snape: that you’re safe— Harry: That’ll just depress them. Snape: —and you’ll see them in a few weeks. Harry: Do we have to?

Snape is a potions master, right? So, like he knows lots about magical plants and their properties. So, I propose that Snape knows how to make really good tea. Like really good tea.
So, when his students are stressed & talk to him (Slytherins obvi), he always makes tea. It’s like a secret thing—he listens and makes tea. He knows which to give to them, depending if they’re tired or too energetic, and bam—student is a-okay after the talk.
+ Celaena once called all potions “magical tea” & Snape the professor of “magicali-tea.” She got a life-long ban that lasted for two days before Snape caved in.

Some Wildly Specific Zennie Head Canons That Help Me Sleep At Night (when ideas pop in my head, I zoom my way over here to add them to keep my fellow zennies happy so check frequently for new ones!)
Another note… I am not a fanfic writer so these head canons are up for grabs if you want to put them in your story! It would super cool to see!
So on with it!:
Hyde always bites Jackie on the back of her neck during freaky time as a way to mark her as his
Jackie has a grasshopper tattoo that Hyde drew on her hip and every time Hyde goes down on her, he kisses the tattoo
Hyde reads them books (think of Orwell or Steinbeck books)
They both have panic attacks and nightmares due to the trauma their parents gave them and take care of each other when they happen. Hyde usually has nightmares: Jackie kisses all the scars he got from his mom and her boyfriends and tells him affirmations (like “you’re enough” or “it’s not your fault”). Jackie’s are usually sudden outbursts that are so bad where she throws up: Hyde notices her sudden mood change and to protect her “reputation”, he takes her somewhere private, cradles her, and kisses the back of her neck until she falls asleep
Their youngest (a daughter) is Hyde’s everything and has him wrapped around her finger and sobbed when she was born. She’s a mini Jackie, even with the different colored eyes. Hyde calls her, his “babydoll”
They actually met in elementary school when a kid pushed Jackie off the slide and hurt her. Hyde came up and punched the kid in the face but they agreed to never talk about it due to his “bad boy” reputation and her “popular girl” reputation
Hyde always waits for Jackie to fall asleep first and makes sure she’s asleep by kissing her forehead
Jackie is a pillow princess through and through and Hyde is okay with that because he likes to dominate her but makes fun of her because she will never go on top. He once bought her a crown to tease her about it
Jackie’s way of telling Hyde he loves her is through biting. She bites him A LOT
Jackie doesn’t know her limits when it comes to alcohol and weed so Hyde cuts her off
They often go on dates that help heal their inner children like the arcade or even just building Lego sets
Jackie always forces Hyde to slow dance with her in the rain
Hyde is a really good singer and guitar player but nobody knows except Jackie. He even sings her Tiny Dancer by Elton John and Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin
When fighting, Hyde lifts her chin up with his fingers to get important points across
They play chess to see who does the dishes because they both hate it
Jackie gets sick really easily and Hyde never leaves her side when she’s sick because she’s scared of throw up and it doesn’t phase him. Literally she can throw up all over him and he won’t care
Jackie actually loves his fro and does weekly curl treatment on in. Hyde pretended he hated it at first but actually loves it
When they first got back together after Sam’s departure, they went to Chicago for a fancy dinner in the river walk. They stumbled across a dog (think of a silver lab) that was very obviously malnourished and had signs of abuse and neglect. Jackie wanted it, Hyde didn’t because he’s afraid of dogs (something that only Jackie knows). Jackie basically gaslit him by saying, “but he’s like us though, he was abused and neglected. Please Puddin Pop?” with her signature pout. And obviously Hyde gave in. They named him Hippo. Now Hyde and Hippo are inseparable.
When Jackie was a kid, she choked on steak and had to go to the hospital. Hyde ALWAYS cuts her steak now and gets pissed when she doesn’t chew it enough
Hyde has a wall in the shop dedicated for her type of music called “my chick’s picks”. It attracts a lot of teenage girls
Jackie became one of those luxury designers (and of course a model cause she’s gorgeous). She started selling her clothes in Hyde’s shop… when a billionaire was stumbling through town and went into Hyde’s shop, Jackie got recognition and basically took off from there! The billionaire also fell in love with Hyde and his personality as well and gave him some kickstart money to start his own production company. Now, he has a successful record label but still owns the Point Place Grooves :)
Hyde insisted their wedding vows were done in private because he wrote the cutest and most sweetest things and didn’t want his friends to call him whipped
Believe it or not, Jackie is extremely smart and philosophical (obviously Hyde is too) so their pillow talk gets philosophical sometimes
Jackie and Hyde don’t celebrate Thanksgiving. Instead they go on trips because neither likes the holiday. Hyde because of the whole meaning behind it (duh!). Jackie because it reminds her of her broken family but she also takes into account the history of the holiday (which Hyde helped her realized ofc)
They skinny dip every time there’s an opportunity to do so
When Jackie was a kid, her mother always pointed out how her eyes are 2 different colors and how she was imperfect and alien like because of it. No one really noticed it but she’s always been insecure about it. Kelso never noticed it nor did any of the gang except Hyde in season 2 when Jackie was trying to get with him. He didn’t tell Jackie he noticed until they started their fling that summer when he pointed it out for her. When that happened, she broke down and told him all about what her mother has done to her and how she always needs to be perfect. Now every time they have an intimate moment together, he always makes sure to tell her how beautiful her eyes are
Hyde LOVES Jackie’s uniforms. The classic cheerleading uniform, the cheese maiden outfit, and even the smock she wears when helping with cars. They do role play in them…
When driving stick shift, he puts Jackie’s hand on the stick and his hand on top of hers
When Jackie was hoped up on drugs after the birth of their first child, Hyde convinced her to name their son Johnathan after John Bonham’s Led Zeppelin. Jackie got him back a few years later when she gave birth to their second son and named him Benjamin after Benny Andersson’s ABBA. Their last baby was a baby girl, they agreed on the name Clara because Jackie knew it meant “famous” and Hyde thought it was a cool name
When Jackie was pregnant with their daughter, Hyde learned how to do girly hairstyles on Jackie’s hair so he can do it on their daughter’s hair. Surprisingly, it was Hyde who came up with this idea because he fell in love with being a girl dad the second he found out that Jackie was pregnant with a girl
When fighting, if it looks like Jackie is about to cry, he will stop the fight right away and comfort her because he hates seeing her cry
They often go on roadtrips with no destination in mind when one of them is having a hard time
Jackie brought home two dogs from the shelter without Hyde’s knowing and named them Captain and Tennille. Hyde was mad at first but it didn’t last long when Hyde found Jackie sandwiched between Captain and Tennille (Hippo is there too dw he was just on the foot of the bed) in bed and thought it was the cutest thing ever
They usually have their own side conversations in the basement/gatherings and ignore the main conversation that’s going on
They have their own circle after sex as a form of aftercare
Jackie wears Hyde’s aviators during circles. Started off with Jackie stealing them off of Hyde’s face and now it’s a tradition. Hyde plops them on Jackie’s face every time without failure
Instead of actually saying aloud how Hyde feels about Jackie, he writes her letters and notes. When they were in high school, Hyde slipped notes in her locker. After high school, he puts notes on her bedside table or work desk

The Master and Margarita: An audacious revision of the stories of Faust and Pontius Pilate, The Master and Margarita is recognized as one of the essential classics of modern Russian literature. The novel's vision of Soviet life in the 1930s is so ferociously accurate that it could not be published during its author's lifetime and appeared only in a censored edition in the 1960s. Its truths are so enduring that its language has become part of the common Russian speech. One hot spring, the devil arrives in Moscow, accompanied by a retinue that includes a beautiful naked witch and an immense talking black cat with a fondness for chess and vodka. The visitors quickly wreak havoc in a city that refuses to believe in either God or Satan. But they also bring peace to two unhappy Muscovites: one is the Master, a writer pilloried for daring to write a novel about Christ and Pontius Pilate; the other is Margarita, who loves the Master so deeply that she is willing literally to go to hell for him.
We: Yevgeny Zamyatin's We is a powerfully inventive vision that has influenced writers from George Orwell to Ayn Rand. In a glass-enclosed city of absolute straight lines, ruled over by the all-powerful 'Benefactor', the citizens of the totalitarian society of OneState live out lives devoid of passion and creativity - until D-503, a mathematician who dreams in numbers, makes a discovery: he has an individual soul. Set in the twenty-sixth century AD, We is the classic dystopian novel and was the forerunner of works such as George Orwell's 1984 and Aldous Huxley's Brave New World. It was suppressed for many years in Russia and remains a resounding cry for individual freedom, yet is also a powerful, exciting and vivid work of science fiction. Clarence Brown's brilliant translation is based on the corrected text of the novel, first published in Russia in 1988 after more than sixty years' suppression.

Things Steven Hyde Loves:
First off, the people in his life: His kids, Becca and James. His wife, Jackie. His de facto brother Eric, and his best friend Donna. WB, Angie, and his foster parents, Red and Kitty.
Zeppelin, and music in general. Punk is the soundtrack to the revolution. And Grooves is his man cave, in the best possible way. Camaros. French fries. Weed, or a whole "bag of love." Zen, the "dojo of coolness." The color black. Throwing stuff at glass. Throwing punches in stupid faces. His shades. Orwell novels. Especially "1984" or "Animal Farm." Playing chess, particularly with Jackie.
Honorable mentions: Not the government, corporations/corporate tools, or the police. Not hair metal, especially Twisted Sister *glares at Kelso.* Protests. Conspiracy theories. Questioning everything.
Band tees, concerts, vinyl records, cool tattoos, El Caminos, beer, a good pair of boots, Levi's, working on cars, electric guitars, Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana, Santana, The Rolling Stones, flipping assholes off, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, owls, Twin Peaks, The Heathers, Little House on The Prairie, eye rings, Pink Floyd's "Another Brick in the Wall," collecting matchboxes, The Who, John Lennon (the music, not the person), leather jackets, denim jackets (especially with a sherpa lining), vests, motorcycles, lighters, playing cards, AC/DC, Blue Oyster Cult, Bob Marley, brownies, cookies, pizza, black coffee, his fro, graffiti, cash not credit

Good morning! I hope you slept well and feel rested? Currently sitting at my desk, in my study, attired only in my blue towelling robe, enjoying my first cuppa of the day. Welcome to Too Much Information Tuesday!

‘Lord Of The Rings’ was an act of procrastination. J.R.R. Tolkien was supposed to be doing some academic work but … just didn’t feel like doing it, so he wrote ‘Lord Of The Rings’ instead!

A hospital in Toulon, France had to be evacuated when an 88-year-old man turned up with a World War I bomb lodged in his anal passage! It was an eye-watering 18cm long and 9cm wide. The patient made a full recovery, after it was surgically removed.
In 2014, a man in China bought a first class ticket on China Eastern Airlines. He cancelled the ticket and re-booked for a different day over 300 times. The reason? So, he could eat free in the VIP lounge on each of those days.

Professor Headcanons
Albus Dumbledore
he’s very accomplished in terms of wizarding academics, having won nearly every accolade there is. but—but, he’s also not averse in using like “muggle” techniques. the reason he even matched up against Voldemort is (cause I guarantee you) this person pulled out some muggle warfare tactic that caught him off-guard.
✨weaponized ignorance✨ (like seriously everyone knows he’s a genius, but like gets away with saying stuff like “nitwit” and “blubber”) he feels like a Luna kinnie at times
he switched out the smart three piece suit when (1) he no longer needed to impress Grindewald & (2) realized wizard robes were like blanket hoodies
“to be a wizen is a right, but to use magic is a privilege”
Minerva McGonagall
this lady has the wizen equivalent of a physics PhD & she did it all with grace and sophistication. do not mess with her—there’s a reason she was chosen to wrangle a bunch of kids who think rules are like glowsticks (i.e. meant to be broken).
this is that one professor who grades your exams in one day & posts grades immediately. Alternatively, she somehow never misses a question. either she has the world’s greatest spell for grading or she’s just that good.
she’s the de-facto leader of the faculty (other than Dumbledore, but even he defers to her at times) + the stern parent that makes sure that the emo child (snape) gets social interactions or botany hyperfixater (sprout) doesn’t create a breed of plants that eats the students, etc.
“words are meaningless if there is no willpower driving it—conversely, one should not speak unless one wants to will something to reality”
Severus Snape
that asocial genius trope. he hated eating at the faculty table in front of students so he didn’t. until came Celaena and Harry Co., then for the sake of keeping his sanity intact, he did (he even does a little headcount of his students & panics if one of them is missing)
he wears the same robes for a reason. they keep him cool in the heat of summer & somehow provides insulation for the cold dungeon winters. it works. he wears.
he learned that simply not requiring textbooks in his class (or at least one pertaining to brewing) was better than losing his shit everytime he saw the terrible instructions. in his first few years of teaching, he set 4 textbooks on fire.
“there is nothing worse than incompetency masquerading as confidence”
Pomona Sprout
acts like she’s on five coffees a day even though she doesn’t drink any. this lady has the strength and energy of a whole farm—she could plant all day & be the happiest person on the planet. she’s the strongest faculty member (stronger than Hooch, which allows for some fun challenges when inebriated)
she experiments a lot! like she has several notebooks dedicated to recording the minute changes in the properties of plants—with the aid of Snape’s potion skills. the two singlehandedly came up with a new set of ingredients for seasonal potions for the Hospital Wing.
loves to talk with students outside of classes (oftentimes, dragging them to the greenhouses) & it really didn’t matter what house you were in. most students found her the easiest to approach from all houses and years.
“plants are like miniature humans! but I do think they listen much better than you lot”
Aurora Sinistra
she’s that one teacher that’s super hard at the beginning, but as you get used to her teaching methods—best teacher ever. the reason that students in arithmancy usually get a minimum of an A? it’s her. she taught them well.
best tea brewer ever. periodt. Snape’s a close close second, but there’s something about the infusion of moonlight that makes hers legendary. the two often share recipes together—a habit from their years at Hogwarts (although, back then, it was mostly recipes for their friends b/c wow were they bad at taking care of themselves)
she tries to keep homework as small as possible b/c it’s not possible to wait until the stars are out to do them sometimes, but it means that classes are more often. she’s the first teacher to adjust the schedule based on the seasons—less classes, more hw in winter & vice versa in summer season)
“every myths and legends can be ascribed to the beauty of outer universe—we must not forget”
Filius Flitwick
just to start, big aristotle kinnie. he has the aristotelian physics PhD equivalent in the wizarding world (definite big brain). he’s the only other person who can really get technical with McGonagall—both of them are menaces at faculty gatherings.
he has the best manners—not just like table manners, but like how to engage in socialite behavior expertise in multiple customs. he’s practically eligible to be a proper diplomat, but he chose to teach charms because he practically becomes like a little child again, wide-eyed and excited.
he has a very structured manner of teaching b/c he realized how often he’d go on tangents. his older students have the privilege to listen to his rabbit holes before descending down into their own rabbit holes too.
“brilliance is subjective! every idea is brilliant if you are so enamored by it”
Cuthbert Binns
ghosty man who continued to teach even after death. he became a true icon of living history cause not only did he teach Riddle, McGonagall, Moriarty, and even Harry Potter—he lived through them & he did it all half-asleep. respect.
has no respect for wizen legend and myths—he’s much more rather interested in wizen fact that align with Muggle mythology and legends. there’s an element that he is able to prove and extrapolate—it gets too much with wizen technicalities.
this man has two office hours. you can either go ask for help and gain a whole lecture on your topic or you can join a group sleepfest. some students with insomnia noticed being able to sleep with his voice as white noise. truly a cure for them.
“we [historians] are not seers; wizen merely have an unfortunate habit of making mistakes and forgetting about them”

➝ Psychopaths Sociopaths and Narcissists Rule The World 🚨
Throughout history, psychopaths, sociopaths, narcissists, and assorted antisocial-personality-disordered individuals have ruled societies.
Psychopaths and sociopaths often exhibit glibness and superficial charm, have a grandiose sense of self-worth, are pathological liars, display extreme narcissism, are deceitful, cunning and manipulative, exhibit a lack of remorse or guilt, show a callous disregard for the feelings of others, have no conscience, lack empathy, and fail to accept responsibility for their actions.
In a competitive world, the people who act immorally, who have no regard for truth, are going to have an advantage over those who play by the rules. The result is that those who achieve positions of power will be the most ruthless, the most sociopathic, the ones without conscience.
In societies run by psychopaths, ambitious individuals and sycophants, who are not clinically psychopathic, are induced to model themselves after powerful psychopaths in order to achieve power. The result: psychopaths breed more psychopaths.
When corporate leaders, bankers, media executives, academics, military officers, government officials, Congressmen and Senators, and even Presidents and Prime Ministers, are liars and deceivers, and are ruthless, callous manipulators who have no regard for truth or other people, the entire fabric of society is twisted in their image, and psychopathic behavior becomes the norm.
Our world is characterized by: permanent war, full-spectrum dominance, targeted assassinations, rendition, torture, water-boarding, NSA, FBI, CIA, Mossad, MI6, NATO, Gladio, Abu Ghraib, Guantanamo, mercenaries, Blackwater, paramilitaries, Contras, counter-insurgency, nuclear weapons, cruise missiles, drones, landmines, cluster bombs, napalm, white phosphorus, Agent Orange, depleted uranium, biological and chemical weapons, enemy combatants, shock and awe,
mujahideen, al-Qaeda, Taliban, Islamic State (ISIS), Zionism, state terrorism, false flags, 9/11, color revolutions, regime change, coup d'etats, sanctions, drug trafficking, human trafficking, plausible deniability, impunity, fascism and neo-fascism, Auschwitz, Nanking, Hiroshima and Nagasaki, genocide, apartheid, dictatorship, plutocracy, oligarchy, kleptocracy, political sociopaths and narcissists, structural adjustment, austerity, extreme inequality, exploitation, poverty, elite pedophilia, endemic corruption, predatory capitalism, profiteering, tax havens, money laundering, bank bail-outs and bail-ins, too-big-to-fail, monopoly capitalism, globalization, market manipulation,
financialization, corporatism, corporate personhood, golden parachutes, fracking, mountain-top removal, tar sands, Fukashima, laboratory-created diseases, genetically-engineered food, glyphosate, medical-pharma mafia, vaccine catastrophe, autism, three-strikes, maximum-security, militarization of police, corporate media, public relations, propaganda, fake news, surveillance, RFID chips, optical scans, facial recognition, global government, the New World Order.
It is clear that this world has not been built by caring human beings, but has been constructed and is run by powerful hallow soulless individuals.
And, despite the violence, suffering and chaos they have caused, we allow them to remain at the top, and in control.
“All tyrannies rule through fraud and force, but once the fraud is exposed they must rely exclusively on force.” – George Orwell

when will my life begin?
#a sequel to yesterday's post!#what do i do while the class is reading? make a comparison between the mains of an orwell dystopia and disney fairytale of course!#i know the last two are switched in order but it looks like they're looking at each other!#same with the 2nd row of pics#winston was blonde in the book but brunette in the movie almost like a certain lost princess... ;)#winston and rapunzel- two different people with the same dream!#they both wish to see the world beyond their windows ♥#and they play chess ;)#the winston chess pic is from the final scene but i didn't click on the video it's from so i wasn't spoiled!#winston just has his diary and the ingsoc dictionary like how punzie only has 3 books#and after he's with o'brien i'm sure he's sheltered from the world with fear put into his heart like rapunzel is#but there could possibly be a happy ending maybe?#he looked normal in the chess pic compared to the depressing way he looks in the 4th pic of him#it won't be as happy as punzie's ending!#i assume the healing incantation won't work for him...#maybe in a tangled au perhaps? ;)#OMG what if o'brien'gothel teaches winpunzel that freedom is slavery like in canon yet winpunzel still wants to be free?#it would be even worse than punzie disobeying gothel#also it would be ironic if the pascal character was a rat since winston hates them in canon#but would winpunzel be a lost prince in this one?#maybe he's just a commoner who lost his parents and is kidnapped#either way winston sure makes a great rapunzel! :D

the Flats Hollow Sector # 7 -Spoiler Thread on George Orwell’s famous novel “1984″ issue
Tumblr media
I guess I'll start with the ending:
Winston sat alone in his cafe, playing a strange board game known as "Chess". It doesn't matter whether he were playing one of the opposing sides. The point is that as he won the game against his opponent in this "Chess", coincidentally, a media professional broadcast from the airwaves: The war has been won against the enemy, and Big Brother is dead!! The cafe was cheering, as Winston cried a silent teardrop, before he drank his coffee that the waiter then served him.
Does any other individual who appreciates this novel have a greater spoiler than that one?
A.) Winston did not get shot.
B.) Winston won a "Chess" game.
A + B.) Winston was playing "Chess" while citizens watched the war end on TV.
C.) There is a famous B&W feature-length film, from ye olden theatres: "The Grim Reaper" has a favourite board game.
Det Sjunde Inseglet (1957CE): Most-Iconic "Chess" Film
Tumblr media
Talking Points against conspiracy theorists:
I mean, "by all means, Anno Domino is the Christian Calendar."
You: Winston didn't hail big brother.
Me: Winston cried at the end of the war.
I suggest Z-library, and accept proper translations of "the book".
Z-library is obscure because of the unrelated cesspool issues.
The response was rude, but it merits the official book's translation provided:
"1984" by George Orwell, dystopian author and British secret police.
Year: 1961
Publisher: Signet Classic
Language: english
Pages: 328
ISBN 10: 0451524934
ISBN 13: 9780451524935
File: MOBI , 406 KB
website: http://www.z-lib.org
For the record,
the official library code works at any library.
Also for the record:
George Orwell was an anarchist who hated the Bolshevik regime.
Final record addendum:
he writes a good, thrilling account of the Spanish Civil War.
Necessary addition to the history:
Orwell's anarchism consisted of turning-over anarchists.
Tumblr media
Official opinion of The Flats Hollow Sector -
don't take dystopian novels as a given, but a study.
Explanation:
you might enjoy dystopian novels, and shouldn't consider them inevitable.
Recommended field of academic-level research: "Literature Appreciation".
For people who don't go to libraries:
1. there's a fiction section,
2. there's a nonfiction section, and
3. there's a literature section.
Closing commentary:
a.) Chess is strange because it is a monarchist's game.
b.) The rules make more sense for Winston.
