I do not dream of treasure. I dream of when currency is eradicated and people can do what they want without having to worry about having enough money to survive. we made up currency!! things aren't expensive we just say they are!! trees are free!! rocks are free!!! we found a shiney rock and said this specific shiney rock is expensive. why? who knows. not all shiney rocks are expensive, some are labeled fake shiney rocks because we said they aren't expensive but they look like the expensive ones (pyrite/fools gold). this makes zero sense. plants are free yet we say they are expensive so poor people can't eat.

I created this mostly since twitter is set to implode any day now. This is a GAYLOR blog first and foremost. I am here to talk about (or honestly just mostly reblog other people talking about) queer themes and lyrics in Taylor's music and have some fun speculating about her rumored queer relationships.

I am not at all personally invested in who she has or has not previously dated or is currently dating. I do not think any ships are superior or inferior. I also don't care who a song is or is not about.

I do not claim to know for certain how Taylor identifies her sexuality. Queer, sapphic, bi, pan, wlw, and lesbian are all terms I'll probably use to describe her at some point. And I'll probably be using lesbian the most and that is simply because I am a lesbian myself.

I'm also newer to the actual fandom/stan side of being a Taylor fan. I have listened to her since debut, but I've pretty much always been a more casual fan. I don't know a lot of the ~lore~ and there's even a lot of songs I don't know. I've been slowly working my way through her discography, but there's obviously a lot there.

Quick disclaimer before I start:

I do not want moral input, I will block anyone who tries to push things on me because I am not in the mood right now. I just want advice and maybe recipes or helpful resources.

Anyway, I am trying to go vegan in order to protect the environment. I am doing this specifically as a rebellion against capitalism and against environmental disregard, not because I think that using animal products is inherently bad no matter the context. My concern is with not putting monetary support toward the production of animal products, not with dogmatically avoiding them regardless of context. Yes, the capitalist methods of obtaining animal products are horrifically unethical but the black and white thinking of “animal products = bad, no exceptions” is also problematic. I don’t wanna get into that right now but maybe another time. I am only saying this to give context for what kind of advice I am looking for, not because I am willing to debate any of it here.

Anyway, I have been struggling a bit because I’m not entirely sure how to start? I don’t really know any good vegan recipes that aren’t way too expensive and I don’t wanna just eat salty rice and oatmeal every day, because that’s about what's in my pantry on an average day. I’m not the one in charge of shopping for my household and only buy food when I have a specific recipe so know it won’t go to waste. Do you have any favorite vegan recipes that are also affordable?

I also don’t know exactly how to go about figuring out what ingredients are vegan or not. I mean, I could google every individual one but at that point even doing small amounts of shopping for myself would take hours. I can do it, but I’m hoping there is an easier way that I’m just not thinking of. So like, are there any resources or strategies that make checking if something is vegan easier? 

Then for non-food items I guess I just want to know are there any items made with animal products that you wouldn’t really expect to be that I should be aware of? Are there any lifestyle habits or swaps that you would suggest for avoiding these kinds of things? 

And if you aren’t vegan, do you have any other advice of this nature that would also help with my goals? Maybe things that are just better for the environment in general?
