#can’t wait to move back home where I’ll argue with my mother everyday
Text
Just came back to my accommodation after being away for almost two weeks;
-there’s moldy spaghetti in the sink
-there’s flies in the fridge (not even joking I can feel them crawling over me)
-there’s four bin bags sat under the table in the kitchen (bins also overflowing)
-the hallway is a mess of empty boxes and shoes
-I want to move out

All you could do was wait and pace. Wait and sit. Wait and read. Wait and cook. Wait and read.
It felt like time was on a never ending loop of waiting.
As soon as your “mating week” with Eris ended - a passionate, exhausting, love-filled week - Eris was pulled immediately with his father and brothers for the war with Hybern. The immediate aloneness after such an affectionate week was harsh on your emotions. A complete whiplash of feelings, and still new to Autumn Court, you were grateful that at least the Lady of Autumn, Serah, was a comforting presence and wished to know as much as she could about the woman who married her son.
Everyday since Eris left for the war, he’d pull on your bond as many times as he could to make sure you were ok. Temporarily, you moved into the castle with her, to keep her company as well as it was the safest for both of you.
It also helped ease your fears, when he pulled on the bond, so you know he was alive. You’d tell him you loved him, and send your warmth and love through the bond. The heightened emotions of the mating week to not seeing your husband at all had your heart anxiously awaiting his return. Your feelings sometimes felt like they were in a blender, attempting to be patient.
He could feel your worry sometimes, a slight twinge on the outer edges of your feelings. He was ready to go home, but Eris couldn’t… until it was over.
“How are you feeling today?” Serah, the Lady of Autumn asked, coming into the library where you sat on one of the chairs, snuggled under a thick blanket and a book. You smiled at her, as she sat down on the couch next to you. A servant followed her, carrying a tray of tea and some cinnamon treats.
“Better. Can’t wait till Eris gets back though. How are you?” You replied, as the servant poured each of you a cup of tea. You eagerly accepted the warm drink, accepting the comfort of the little things.
“Good, although I can only imagine your feelings. Separated just after mating week with your mate? How many times has my son pulled on your bond?” She joked, and you giggled.
“I lose track, but it’s comforting knowing he’s still alive, especially since I can’t be there with him” You said, and she nodded.
“Yes, but from what some of the letters I’ve received, they all should be home shortly. You must be excited to tell him, or have you already?” Serah said, with a twinkle in her eye, shifting her eyes to your belly.
“Y/N! Are you alright in there?” Serah asked, after you had sprinted to the bathroom in the middle of eating.
“I’m - * barf * I’ll be fine” You said, clutching the bowl as you prayed the nausea to go away. Your side of the bond was closed off, making sure Eris wouldn’t feel your sickness.
“This is the third day of this. I’m getting our healer” Serah said concerned, bringing you to a couch when you were able to leave the restroom. You nodded, in no shape to argue with your mother-in-law.
“Hello, Mrs. Vanserra. I hear you’re feeling nauseous for a few days now?” The healer, Ygritte, said, as she came and analyzed your body with her magic.
“Please, call me Y/N. Yes, dizzy and light headed too, but I just figured that was because of the stress with Eris being away so quickly after mating” You said, as Serah stood close by, watching Ygritte.There wasn’t anyone else in the room, but there were guards outside the door.
“Well, it’s not a stomach bug or bad food, it seems like. You seem very healthy… oh. Oh! Congratulations, Y/N. You’re pregnant” Ygritte said with a smile.
“No, I want to tell him in person. I just wish I knew when he was coming so I could make something to announce to him with, like the Autumn Court pie. Or buy some little baby clothes to tell him” You said, rubbing your belly.
“Oh that would be precious! We can definitely make the pie for him when we get home, but the shopping will have to wait. When I was pregnant with Eris, Beron and I found out together. We were trying and I was visiting Ygritte everyday to see. Beron was very excited to start having a family” Serah said, and you could tell with the way parts of her face pinched, that she was trying to tell the happy version of the story. Without Beron here, Serah expressed herself more. You could feel her be more comfortable in the surroundings, despite living here for hundreds of years.
“I always pictured being pregnant and how I would find out, and to be honest, I never pictured this” You chuckled, with a smile.
“I forget that you are not originally fae. I understand the… process… was terrible, do you miss being a human?” Serah asked, and you shook your head.
“I don’t, honestly. I… I get nightmares often about what Hybern did to me, did to my sisters and I, but with Eris, all I’ve found is joy and happiness. I miss my sisters, but when we were human, we were so poor, I had two jobs, with less than hour or two between them to make some money so we could eat. It was… awful” You said, and Serah smiled.
“I had two sisters as well. I can only imagine how you feel being separated from them” Serah said, comfortingly, bringing her hand to cover yours.
“I love them, but this is my family now” You replied, and Serah squeezed your hand with a smile.
“Of course we are. I can’t believe I’ll be a grandmother” She said, smiling widely as she gazed at where your hands were placed on your stomach.
The news of your pregnancy had brought her immense joy, and although you were waiting to tell more people until Eris came home, she whispered to you plans for them. Excited was an understatement - especially when she would talk about her plans for the parties and reconstruction of the castle.
“Lady of Autumn, Lady Y/N Vanserra, High Lord Beron and sons are on their way home” the guard announced, and your smile brightened. Serah’s flickered with a small bit of happiness - although she wasn’t thrilled her husband was coming back, she was happy her son would be able to hear the news.
“Well it seems that there is no time to prepare” You giggled, squeezing her hand softly as she chuckled.
“No, but Eris will be happy nonetheless” Serah said, smiling.
“Y/N, my wife” Beron said, greeting both of you as the Vanserra boys winnowed into the library.
You smiled graciously, curtsying properly to the High Lord.
“I will see you all for dinner in a few hours” Beron stated, looking at the boys who all looked like they needed a shower quickly. You could feel the growing frustration to be close to you down the bond from Eris, itching to hold you in his arms, and as soon as Beron walked out of the room with Serah, he winnowed the two of you to your home.
“My love, I’ve missed you” Eris groaned, slotting his lips against yours as he pressed his body firmly against yours.
“I’ve missed you too” You whimpered out, as his hips ground against yours. His hands were warm, as they held out tight, feeling your silhouette. He gripped your hips, anchoring himself to you desperately.
He burned your dress, not in flames but burned it just so that it became ashes and fell of your skin. His clothes fell off in ashes as well, and without even looking at your body,Eris quickly maneuvered the two of you to the bed, his lips attached to yours. The smell of both of your arousal permeated thickly through the air, and your body fell drunk off the lust.
“Eris, Eris, wait my love” You said, pushing him slightly away from you. Confused, but respectful, he pulled away, looking into your eyes, concern written across his face.
“Is everything ok? Too much?” He asked, looking at your body if he had harmed you in some way while moving the pair of you to the bed.
“No, my love. Just - I love you, Eris Vanserra. And you might have to be a bit gentler, now that our love has created something” You said, trying to say it without giving it away immediately. You knew how smart Eris was, but right now, he was confused, cocking his head with an eyebrow raise.
“What? We created something?” Eris asked, and although you tried not to, your mouth let out a giggle. You put your hand over his hand, before moving his hand to your slightly swollen belly. He looked down, seeing the littlest of bumps, and then looked at you shocked.
“We’re - we’re - baby?” He said, stuttering in disbelief.
Eris couldn’t believe he didn’t notice it before, with the belly being swollen underneath his hands and you - you were glowing. Your breasts are a bit larger, and your smell - the smell of your was different, spicier just like his own.
He sank to his knees, placing both hands on your belly, and kissed it, before staring at it blatantly. You could only smile widely, as he kept kissing it. You could feel the indescribable amount of joy and love through your bond, as it all but radiated Eris’ amazement.
“You, my little flame, love of my life, my mate - I thought I was the happiest man alive before but this - this, I - I love you. You are the most incredible person in my life” Eris asked, looking up at you, his eyes filling with tears. You reached down, wiping away his tears although your eyes were watering heavily as well.
“I love you, husband” You said, when he stood and kissed him passionately.
“Are you okay to do this?” He asked, concerned now. You chuckled, nodding your head.
“Please, husband, I’ve been waiting for you for so long” You said, and Eris smirked.
“Well, I’d be a terrible husband if I’ve kept my perfect wife waiting any longer” He said, before devouring your lips. His large hands held on to your hips as he brought you flush against his body, allowing you to feel every muscle of his body as his clothes finally came off. His thick cock pressed into your belly, and your hips moved into his to alleviate the ache you were beginning to feel, aching for more of Eris’ touch.
“My good girl, I feel how eager you are. My sweet good girl” Eris whispered, as his lips travelled down your jaw to sucking on your neck, leaving a bruise on your soft skin. He leaned you back against the bed, moving his body between your legs, as he massaged your breast and inner thighs.
“Eris,” You moaned, pulling gently on his hair.
“Alright, my love. I’m impatient too. I’ve thought about this all the time, trying to get back to you sooner” He said, as he lifted your leg onto his hip as his fingers slid through your folds, already wet from anticipation.
“You’re already wet for me, my love? I bet you taste even sweeter. Next time, I promise, but I just need to be inside of you” He said, trying to loosen you up with his fingers before the tip of his cock began pushing inside of you, much gentler than he usually did.
You let out a moan, whimpering as your legs wrapped around his waist.
He smirked, looking at where the two of you connected, and thrust inside of you.
“Baby, you’re even tighter. I - you look even better, my flame. Mine. I’m going to keep you knocked up - you like that don’t you?” He asked, teasingly as he felt you squeeze him. “Yea, pump you full of my babies? Gods, thank you for gifting me you for the mother of my kids” He groaned, as you squeezed him, trying to milk his cock.
Your hips tried to meet his, to urge him to go faster, but it seemed Eris got the message, speeding up the pace as he leaned forward, his breath caressing your neck.
“I’m- I’m” You started to say, as you moaned.
“I got you, my little flame. I’m right behind you” He said, breathless, as you shattered underneath him. Your orgasm triggered his, and soon, you were both breathless, laying next to each other on the bed, your limbs entangled with one another.
Eris turned on his side, looking at you, as he tried to memorize his view: you, glowing with pregnancy and post-orgasmic haze, your hair thrown about in a crown around you, cheeks flushed and lips parted.
You felt his stare and turned to face him, as he wrapped an arm around your waist.
“Let’s go take a bath, my love” You said, before he kissed your lips and helped you out of the bed and towards the bathroom.
Your poured your usual oils, and waited for the bath to fill with hot water, as your husband attached himself to your back, resting his hands on your belly.
You had gotten better at the bath tub - although while Eris was away, you took colder ones to avoid any memory of the incident.
When it was ready, Eris got in first - as was routine with you two now, and reached for your hand to help you sit in front of him, your back to his chest. He gathered the water in his hands, and helped wash you before you turned around, ready to do the same to him.
“Eris” You sighed, looking at the bruises scattered across his body. Without even thinking, your hand began to glow as you tried to help.
“Y/N, stop. I don’t want it to hurt the baby. This is nothing serious” Eris said, holding your wrists as he forced his hands away from his body. You nodded, reluctantly, and then washed him.

BNHA HUSBAND SCENARIOS: When you mention divorce after a fight
~~~~~~~~~~~
🥦Izuku Midoriya🥦
“If I mean so little to you than why’d you ever marry me?!”
Your voice echoed that same sentence in his head over and over again, you had gotten into an argument over Izuku overworking himself and it resulted in him saying things he didn’t mean. He had forgotten that behind these walls you were a married couple not hero partners, he had chosen his job over you regardless of the promise that he made that you’d always be the world he wanted to protect and now here he was, sitting alone on the couch in shame. He had hurt you with his words he knew he did, he wanted to apologize but he didn’t know what to say or do. His ears twitched to the sound of your bedroom door opening and he stood up meeting your puffy eyes before you moved towards the door.
“H-honey...w-where are you going?”, he stuttered, a feeling in his stomach made him worry.
“Out. Just go back to work or something...you’re happier there anyways.”
His body winced to the cruel venom that laced every word, he had to apologize immediately. He slowly walked up to you reaching for your hand but you quickly snapped it away and opened the door.
“(Y/n) wait I’m-“
“If I stay by you any longer then I’ll really consider divorcing you.”, you admitted coldly making the tall muscular man freeze completely.
You walked out, slamming the door as you left, leaving Izuku alone to his thoughts. You wanted to divorce him...you were actually considering it. What did he do? What was he supposed to do, he didn’t want you to leave him! He’s the number one hero, he fights villains and faces death everyday, and yet now he’s afraid and alone. Despite his frenzied mind he raced after you, nothing else mattered right now then you. Thankfully you hadn’t gotten far but he could tell from your body language that you were crying again, you always tried to play tough even when you were truly hurting inside.
“(Y/n)!”, he screamed, you name echoing in his chest.
You quickly turned around revealing your tearful eyes, you frowned quickly deciding to run rather then face your green haired husband. Izuku wouldn’t let you go so easily, not now, not ever! He activated his quirk speeding towards you and scooping you up into his arms as he floated up into the clouds. You couldn’t do anything up here so you had to listen to him, “(F/n) Midoriya I’m sorry!”, he yelled hugging you tightly.
You didn’t respond, you didn’t say a single word much to Izuku’s horror. He pressed his forehead against the top of yours and closed his eyes begging you to look at him, “Not like this. Please (Y/n) anything but this, I don’t want to lose you. We’ve been together since high school and I love you more every day so please don’t tell me you want a divorce. Just tell me what I have to do to fix my mistakes.”, Izuku pleads were desperate and shaky. You didn’t want to deal with this broken heart of yours anymore, he always chose work over you and you were tired of it.
“I-I want my Izuku back. I married Izuku Midoriya...not Pro Hero Deku. I don’t want to be your second thought anymore I’m tired of being forgotten.”, you sobbed against his chest not once looking up at him.
That’s when he realized how little time he’d been spending with you, a simple hello and good night were all he’d ever gotten from you lately. He’d go to work early, get home late, you’d stop making him dinner all together since you knew he wouldn’t come home. The stress of him neglecting you over work had finally caught up with you and now he had to fix it.
“Let’s go home (y/n).”
“Don’t wanna. I hate it there.”, you admitted.
Even if you didn’t want to he took you home. He carried you to bed and laid you down wrapping his arms around you and talking to you until you vented out all of your feelings. Once you were asleep in his arms he grabbed his phone and immediately requested time off from the agency. He had to rekindle your love for him before anything else happened and he wouldn’t make the same mistake again.
~~~~~~~~
💥Katsuki Bakugou💥
Your cries had finally calmed down after an hour but Katsuki’s guilt and worry were far from gone. He couldn’t even remember the cause of the argument, so he could remember were the tears in your eyes when he had grabbed your wrist to hard and accidentally activated his quirk. The unpleasant smell of burnt flesh still lingered in the room and small drops of your blood stained the floor.
“(Y/n)...open the door. Let me clean your wound before it gets infected.”, Katsuki called from the other side of your bedroom door.
He didn’t hear any noise from the other side so he assumed you were ignoring him but he deserved it. All he did was fight with you lately, the stupid stress from work was making him angrier then he already was but why would he take it out on you? He called for you again trying to get any sign that you were okay. He was hopeful when he heard the door unlock but your cold heartless expression made his blood freeze.
“I’m tired Bakugou. I’m tired of being the stupid ass sponge that you dump all your problems out on and then ring out when you’re not angry anymore. Finish filling these out, I’m leaving tonight because I can’t do this anymore.”, you sighed slamming some papers against his chest before returning to your room.
The angry blonde knew he fucked up the moment you called him by his last name, you only ever did that when you were furious so he knew he fucked up. He didn’t want to bother you anymore then he had so he left to the kitchen to look over the papers you had given him. He assumed it was paperwork for work since you both worked at his agency but his heart dropped when he realized that they were divorce papers. Everything was already filled out all that was needed was his signature of consent to start the divorce process. His mouth ran dry, his heart pace quickened, and his hands became sweaty from nervousness. He raced back to your bedroom forcing the door open to see you packing your suitcase and frowned at you. You met his eyes briefly but returned to filling your suitcase despite him wanting to speak with you.
“B-bab-(Y/n)...(Y/n) why divorce? I-It doesn’t...I-I mean we don’t-“
“You don’t love me anymore that’s why you’re always fighting with me right?”, you dared to ask holding your injured arm up to your chest.
Katsuki body froze to your assumption, is that how he’s made you feel? “(Y/n) I love you. I do, I love you just like the day I confessed to you. Just like the day I proposed to you, just like-like our wedding day.”, He confessed shaking as tears poured from his eyes. “I don’t want to let go of you! You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”
You turned to him with sad eyes taking in his stressed appearance and sighed, you couldn’t do this anymore. You were tired from always being yelled at and then suddenly being loved, you weren’t sure if he was bipolar or just being a dick anymore so you couldn’t bear to deal with this another day.
“Bakugou just sign the papers. You’re not gonna change, I’m not gonna be able to take another day of this especially if you’re getting so violent that you’d actually hurt me.”, your voice was soft and broken the more you spoke you didn’t want to leave him but you couldn’t take this anymore, “I’m not asking for anything just let me g-“
You gasped feeling him suddenly embrace you, you flinched in his arms but he just held you tighter afraid to let you go. His lips kissed yours feverishly making you reconsider your decision until he pulled away.
“Don’t do this (Y/n) I won’t be able to live with myself if I lost you. I’m sorry, I’ll get better, just please don’t leave me. Stay here tonight I’ll go to a hotel or something so you have some time to yourself and then I’ll come back and make you breakfast and if you still feel the same tomorrow then I’ll sign the stupid fucking papers.”, he admitted handing you the papers.
His hands shook violently with fear, he didn’t want to let go of them knowing that you’d probably still feel the same tomorrow. You were able to pull them out of his grip and he left to pack his bag for the night. You didn’t say a word as you watched him pack his bag for the night, he was ready to leave but not before pressing another kiss to your lip and apologizing again.
“Goodnight love I’ll see you tomorrow.”, he smiled nervously back at you watching you merely nod and wave him goodbye.
It wasn’t until now that Katsuki realized just how distant you were from him.
~~~~~~~~~
🔥Shoto Todoroki❄️
It was just the heat of the moment and the stress from arguing that made Shoto say what he said. Now with his hand over his mouth and new tears falling from your eyes the fighting had ended with both sides losing. He had cheated on you with his best friend, the very girl he told you never to worry about. You stared down at your feet, face heating up in embarrassment, while your vision became blurrier.
“(Y/n) I-“
You held your hand up signaling for him to stop, you went to your room to pack your suitcase and leave. He tried to speak with you but you wouldn’t listen and to make it worse he answered the phone to Momo as you packed. While he was busy talking to her you slipped out of the front door not once daring to look back. You’d stay at a hotel for tonight then move back to your home town, your mother was right to be wary of him but to think he had actually thrown you away for Momo was almost to unbelievable.
“Where did it all go wrong?”, you sighed to yourself getting into the Taxi.
You were practically at the front desk requesting a room when Shoto finally called you. An hour had already passed but it made you realize just how little you meant to him now that he had who he truly wanted. Once you were settled in your hotel room you answered him, your voice dead and hoarse from sobbing.
“(Y/n) please come back home. I-I didn’t mean to do it, I’m sorry just please come ba-“
“I want a divorce Todoroki, if you wanted her so badly that you went behind my back to do it then I no longer want to be your wife.”, you replied coldly hanging up before he could speak anymore.
You blocked his number and tossed your phone into a forgotten corner of the room. You called your mother on the room phone to tell her you’d be going back and the pain in her voice over hearing you heartbroken made her regret ever jinxing you. You heard a knock at your door and sighed believing it was room service so you put on a fake smile as you answered the door but it dropped once you saw Shoto standing before you.
“Go away.”, you warned slamming the door on him but his ice blocked it from shutting completely.
“(Y/n) I’m sorry, it only ever happened once I promise. I wasn’t thinking right it was during your year long undercover mission I-I don’t even remember what made us do it-“
You glared at him, with a heavy heart your hand met your left cheek, the sound echoed in the room before he turned to look at you again.
“I stayed loyal to you all these years and when I leave for one you decide to fall for another woman and sleep with her. I’ve always been insecure especially about women as beautiful as Yaomomo, and just when I was starting to believe you about being prettier than her you threw it all away!”, you sobbed holding yourself in your arms, “What did I do to make you stop loving me? To make you stoop low enough to cheat on me!”
God your words were killing him, each tear made his guilt worse and worse, “(Y/n) I’m sorry...I’m so sorry.”
“No you’re not. You hold back because you’re lying to yourself that you love me but even I know that you don’t. Just go Shoto...it’s over I want nothing to do with either of you.”, you sighed turning your back to him one last time. He reached out to grab you but he couldn’t seem to reach you. Even though you were so close his body wouldn’t let him move, tears spilled from his dual colored eyes as he turned to leave. You heard the door shut and sighed it was over.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
🐙Tamaki Amajiki🐙
“A-Angel, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to snap at you like that.”, Tamaki cried.
You body was limp in his grasp and to defeated sigh left Tamaki fearful of what was going to leave your mouth, “If you don’t love me then why do you bother staying here? I’ll just do you the favor and set you free. Once the divorce is settled then you won’t have to deal with someone annoying like me ever again.”, you spoke softly somehow escaping his grip as you disappeared into the bedroom. Tamaki was shaking, a cold sweat washed over him and his heart was racing. He hadn’t suffered an anxiety attack this serious since high school, he wanted you to comfort him but he knew right now you wouldn’t do that.
“(Y/n) I’m sorry. P-please don’t say you’ll divorce me. I don’t want anyone else I-I just want you.”, he admitted rushing to your room to see you packing your things.
His stomach dropped when he finally realized you were serious about this. He begged for you to listen, poor excuses falling from his lips with each passing second. “Tamaki just stop, why would you want to stay with someone you don’t even love? The damage is already done Tamaki so you have to deal with the consequences. I’m going to live with my mother until I get back on my feet, I don’t want anything from you just sign off the papers once you get them.”, you sighed zipping up your suitcase as you prepared to leave.
Tamaki’s quirk activated, his tentacle finger slammed your suitcase away in a matter of seconds. Once again you were yelling at him but he didn’t care, he walked up to you and fell to his knees just at your feet and wrapped his arms around your waist latching onto you desperately. “Tamaki let go.”, you warned pushing him off by his shoulders. Not a word left his lips, he just held onto you tighter. “Let go Amajiki.”, you sighed breaking to the sound of his soft sobs against your stomach.
“I-I can’t lose you. N-not like this. S-sorry...so s-sorry.”, he hiccuped stumbling over his words, “I need you. You’re not annoying, you’re not overbearing, you’re perfect! I love you, I didn’t mean what I said please don’t leave me!”, he screamed his tentacles wrapping around you desperately to keep you in his grasp.
“You don’t mean that. The anger in your eyes as you spoke to me only proved that you don’t love me. Let go and find someone you actually love because this... this isn’t the love you need.”, you sighed.
His nose pressed against your stomach as he begged the little person in you to convince you to stay, this wasn’t easy for you. The stress from your work and being pregnant was becoming to much for you and Tamaki’s anger towards you wasn’t helping your mental state.
“Please please don’t leave me. I can’t lose both of you.”, he sobbed.
You sighed and called his name making him look up at you, his tears poured down his eyes and his face was scrunched up on despair to the situation. Another sigh left your lips, “I’m tired Suneater.”, you whispered forcing Tamaki to freeze at the sound of his hero name. His fingers returned to normal, and although the situation was still at hand you decided to stop for the night. This strain was too much for you to handle, “Good night Suneater.” Your elf eared husband sat on the floor in shock as you drifted off to sleep fresh tears spilling silently from your eyes. He didn’t love you that’s all that replayed in your mind.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
🐈‍⬛Shinsou Hitoshi🐈‍⬛
You had mentioned divorce to him once after a cruel fight in return became brainwashed for several seconds and never dared to mention it again. Where did it all go wrong? Why did it become like this? You were to afraid to speak with your own husband because of his quirk, you were so bottled up from the neglect and loveless heartache bubbling up in you that you just decided that it was better to leave. Hitoshi wouldn’t even bother talking to you about your deteriorating marriage so what was the point. He’d get home, not even say hello and go straight to bed. Maybe you were overthinking things but in the end it would be the best for you, your high school sweetheart no longer loved you simple as that.
“(Y/n)? (Y/n) are you here?”, a female voice called, you kept your lips shut until your best friend emerged from the front door, “H-Hey why didn’t you answer me?”
“S-sorry force of habit. Sorry that I had to involve you in my running away.”, you giggled nervously.
“So you’re actually gonna take this mission? It’s an undercover mission and at a minimum you have to be off grid for a year, are you sure you can handle this?”, your friend Aiko asked.
“Y-yeah...nobody will recognize me now that I’ve quit the agency.”, you smiled.
Aiko quickly grabbed your bags and took them to her car as you left your goodbye note. Shinsou’s pet cat sat by watching you carefully, “Take care of him old friend.”, you sighed leaving your goodbye note and your ring behind.
The old tabby cat nodded and rolled into a ball to sleep until his master returned, you made sure to leave his bowls filled and disappeared without a trace. The next morning when Shinsou returned home he realized that the smell of bacon or fresh coffee was vacant from the house. He believed you had maybe overslept, that was fine in a way it gave him time to cuddle with you a bit until you quietly pulled yourself from his heavy arms.
“Mocha where’s your mom?”, Shinsou yawned walking into the kitchen.
His old tabby yawned and stamped his foot on the table bringing Shinsou’s attention to the letter that his fluffy butt sat on. He quickly noticed your ring and his heart sank, for a moment he believed it was a ransom note but it turned out to be worse then he thought. He continued to read the letter until he realized that you had left him...he had lost you. The purple haired pro ran to your bedroom praying to see you asleep in the black paw print covered sheets he had bought only to see your room completely empty of any sign of you. Your clothes were gone, shoes gone, your pictures gone! You had erased your very existence from the home and it made his heart stop.
“B-baby? Baby! (Y/n) please! Stop joking around this isn’t funny anymore! (Y/n) come back out!”, Shinsou cried collapsing to his knees from exhaustion.
If only he had realized his mistake before you had left and gone away, if only.
Nights like these, you’ve learned to tune them out. It sounds like a ringing in your ear as you watch your parents gesture around angrily at each other as you sat on the couch, thinking of ways you could escape to your room.
It was always like this. Your dad would come home drunk and your mom would always get angry at him for it. You didn’t know why they always seemed to rope you into these arguments, but it wasn’t like you could stop them from keeping your name out of their mouths—they never listened to you anyway.
They always blamed you. Using you to throw all of their problems onto, acting as if it would relieve some of their problems. Deep down, you knew it wasn’t because of you, but it didn’t stop you from questioning if they were right.
Somehow, you managed to escape to your room, muffling their voices further as you shut the door. Days like these, you felt alone.
A ding beside you snapped you out of your thoughts before you reached over to grab your phone—it was Bakugou.
‘I’m at the convenience store by your house, did you want something?’
It was like Bakugou was your guardian angel. He always seemed to be there when you needed it the most, especially when you were reaching out silently. Your heart was so full of love for him, he was too good.
‘I’m not feeling great, can we hang out a bit?’ you hated being so negative with Bakugou, but right now, the only thing you wanted was him. And not even 30 seconds later, he replied.
‘I’ll be there in five minutes’ And like he said, five minutes later, he was outside. Slipping in a sweater, you made your way back into the living room, where your parents continued to argue.
“I’m going out,” you say, not bothering to check if they heard—not that it mattered.
Shutting the door behind you, you immediately press yourself against Bakugou’s chest, taking in his presence and his scent. His muscular arms wrap around you gently as you let out a heavy sigh. You never wanted to leave the safe place of his arms.
“Are your parents arguing again?” Bakugou questions and all you could do was nod. “I just needed to get out of there.” He lets out a hum, rubbing your back with his free hand before gently pulling away to reach into his bag. “I thought this would cheer you up.”
Your eyes lock onto the meat bun in his hands before you give him an embarrassed smile, “Why do you always assume food would make me feel better?” you say, taking to meat bun from his hands.
“Cause I know it does, and I know you love that shit,” Bakugou intertwines his large one with yours as the two of you walk down the street in a comfortable silence. “Can I stay the night at your place?”
“Wouldn’t your parents get upset?” he asks, but you shrug. “I’d rather get in trouble staying over at yours than to hear them arguing until the sun rises.”
Bakugou didn’t want to be the cause of trouble headed your way, but you seemed determined to get out. Letting you stay over was the least he could do.
“Do you think your parents would mind?” You ask, glancing up at him for an answer only to feel him squeeze your hand gently, “You know they love having you over.”
“Yeah, but it’s a bit late for me to be coming over and especially on such short notice,” and before you could worry any more, Bakugou leaned over to press a kiss onto your lips before facing forward once more.
“Just let it happen. You’re not a bother to us, I mean it.”
It didn’t take long before the two of you arrived at the Bakugou household. You’ve always enjoyed being around his family, even if he and his mom bickered. It was out of love and not pure hatred.
“I’m back and I brought (Name). She’s staying the night,” Bakugou announced from the door as the two of you placed your shoes neatly on the floor before walking into the living room.
“Nice to see you, (Name),” Masaru greeted with a smile from the couch as you gave him a polite bow, “Thank you for having me. I apologize for coming so suddenly.”
“Don’t be! It’s nice to have another lady in the house and we love having you over!” Mitsuki exclaimed as she walked out from the kitchen, coming over to hug you. “It’s refreshing to have you over and Katsuki’s so much calmer when you’re here!”
You give her a smile and a giggle when you hear Bakugou yelling beside you. “I think it’s the other way around. I feel so much more calm and relaxed with Katsuki,” you say, earning an embarrassing pout from him. “I don’t know what I would do without him.”
-
It was just past midnight and the Bakugou household was now dark and quiet, not a sound to be heard other than the soft mingled breathing of you and Bakugou.
“Close your eyes and go to sleep,” Bakugou mumbles as you stare up at him, eyes wide and very much awake. Even with his eyes closed, he could feel your eyes focused on him.
“I like looking at you,” you confess before Bakugou wrapped his arms around you, pressing you tight against his chest. Each beat of his heart brought you closer to sleep as your eyes slowly drifted shut. Bakugou rubbing your back comfortably to soothe you to sleep.
“Do you think I’m a bad person?” you question and Bakugou furrows his brows in response. “I mean, my parents always blame me for their arguments. Am I doing something wrong?”
“It’s not you who is doing anything wrong,” Bakugou continues, “your parents just don’t want to put the blame on themselves. You know it’s not you.” You nod but couldn’t help the sigh that escaped your lips, “I know, but it doesn’t help to hear it daily.”
“Thanks for bringing me here,” your soft voice tickles his chest gently, your fingers running along his arm. “I wish I could live with you,” you say quietly and Bakugou hums in response, “I know.”
“Maybe someday?”
“Mhm.”
Even in his drowsy state, Bakugou meant it. Smiling, you snuggle deeper in his arms with a content sigh. You wished every night could end like this.
-
The sounds of dishes rattling in the kitchen stirred you awake from your sleep as you curled into your side, hoping to meet the warm chest of your boyfriend. But, his side of the bed was cold and empty. Opening your still tired eyes, you looked around to be met with a room void of Bakugou.
Throwing your feet over the bed and onto the cold hardwood floor, Bakugou’s voice suddenly came from the doorway. “I was just about to come to wake you up,” he states, earning a pout from you.
“I would’ve liked to have been woken up with you by my side,” you whine but walk over to slump yourself against his body, already feeling the drowsiness once more.
Bakugou’s chest rumbles as he lets out a chuckle. “Hurry up and get ready so we can eat breakfast,” he finishes, kissing you on the forehead before ushering you to the bathroom.
Walking into the bathroom, you stared at your toothbrush that Bakugou had kept for you. “Because you always forget your toothbrush,” he would say, but you knew he always had a spare for you.
Cleaning up your appearance, you walked over towards the dining table where the Bakugou’s were waiting for you happily and warmly like always. “Sit down, we’re so happy that you’re able to join us for breakfast,” Mitsuki says as you take a seat beside Bakugou.
“Would you like some tea?” Masaru offers and you nod, taking the cup politely. “Don’t be shy, dig in (Name).” He says, chopsticks already in his hands.
Glancing down, everything looked delicious. There was a bowl of miso soup beside your small bowl of rice, a plate of salmon that already had your mouth watering and a steaming meat bun beside you.
“Katsuki had told me that you loved meat buns, so we had one heat up for you,” Mitsuki comments as she saw the way you eyed the meat bun. “He tells me a lot about you.”
“Hey! Shut your trap!” Bakugou snarls and Mitsuki shoots back, “Don’t talk to your mother that way! Just say you’re in love with (Name) and go!”
That seemed to shut Bakugou up. His arms crossed with a pout on his lips, but you didn’t miss the blush that adorned his cheeks and ears. His father chuckles before turning towards you, “That boy is wrapped around your finger though, (Name).”
Mitsuki giggles at Bakugou before they continue to banter at each other playfully. Masaru enjoying his breakfast whole heatedly with his family.
It was different, you thought as you watched them. How a family could be so loving towards each other, so full of love.
“This...This is really nice,” you say with a soft smile as your hands wrap around the bowl of miso soup. “I’ve never had a family breakfast like this before,” you confess shyly. “My family is never happy like this, so thank you for showing me what a loving family is supposed to look like.”
Bakugou’s eyes slightly widen at you from your sudden confession and before he could move or do anything, his mom spoke up. “Sweetie, know you’re always welcomed here! You’re already apart of our family!” she says and Masaru gives you an approving nod.
You couldn’t help the widening smile on your lips as you hunch in on yourself shyly, “I can’t thank Katsuki enough for giving me this. For bringing me so much happiness.”
Underneath the table, Bakugou’s hands seek out yours before giving you three firm squeezes as to silently say:
I love you.
“You’re 5 minutes late,” Kuroo speaks as soon as you near the gate of his mother’s house. Irritated by his words, you stop yourself from hitting him. Your lower body parts are hurting from running in heels and your whole body is aching due to being pushed around in the train and crowd.
“Sorry...” is all you could say. You are too tired to argue with him. He spares no more time and enters the house so you have no other choice than to follow him. As you take off your heeled shoes you sigh in satisfaction, finally free from the pain it’s giving you.
“Tetsuro! (Y/N)!” His cousin, Fumiko, greets the two of you as you enter the house. You spot his older sister Tomi in the living room, so you greet her with a friendly kiss on the cheek.
“Where’s mom?” Kuroo asks his sister.
“Bathroom,” Tomi answers. She and Fumiko pulls you to the hallway leading to bedroom, as she smiles at her younger brother cockily. “We’re going to borrow your wife tonight, okay?”
“Huh?” You ask confusingly. Tomi doesn’t wait for his answer and pushes you to what you think is her room. “We’re not having dinner?”
“We, girls, are going to go out and drink tonight!” Fumiko and Tomi cheers. You can’t help but give out a displeased look.
“What’s with the look? Is Tetsuro the type of husband that doesn’t allow you to go out?” Tomi questions and you shake your head immediately. If only she knows what’s actually going on between the two of you... “Tonight you will forget about the pain and stress my brother is giving you. Tonight is about you!”
“Are you up to something?” The two of them ignore you. Tomi shoves a silk red dress to your chest. “I have to wear this?”
After the three of you dress up, you leave Tomi’s room. “Oh, you look very beautiful (Y/N)!” Their mother compliments you so you thank her and greet her with a bow. “Where are the three of you going?”
“Girls night out!” Fumiko does a peace sign and Kuroo snickers.
“Aren’t you too old to be going out?” Kuroo teases Fumiko and Tomi, the older girls smacking the back of his head in unison.
“Aren’t you going to compliment your wife or something? Look at her all dolled up!” Fumiko huffs as she changes the topic. Kuroo glances at you and fakes a loving stare. He doesn’t think you look attractive at all. You’re just another girl he’s so used to.
“You look good, love,” Kuroo compliments half-heartedly, so you just smile at him.
“Whatever love birds,” Tomi rolls her eyes. “Enjoy dinner with mom. We’re leaving now!”
“Bye, mom...” You bid goodbye shyly, kissing your mother-in-law on the cheek. Kuroo also leans in to give you a kiss on your cheek. Instead of feeling happy about it, you become even more discouraged about your relationship. You only act like a couple when your family is around. It’s so hard for you not to get carried away by his sweet actions.
“Bye, love.”
Kuroo is not sure if it’s stress that is clouding his mind in anger or if he’s actually jealous. He just wanted to fetch you and go home so none of his family members will see you flirting with another guy. He doesn’t anymore drama in his life, but you were stubborn and drunk and totally forgot that you were supposed to meet him outside of the club.
After waiting for you for half an hour, Kuroo entered the club and looked for you. He saw you on the dance floor with your “boyfriend” dancing as if you were the only ones in the place. Kuroo’s blood boiled. First, you’ll get caught. Second, you disobeyed him. Third, you looked so attractive under the blinding lights. He hated the thought of being of attracted to you.
The way your dresses perfectly molded your body was making him hot. Your hips swayed along to the rhythm precisely and how he hoped he was the one behind you instead. His eyes wandered and observed your whole body in awe. He didn’t feel like this when he first saw you a while ago. Why did he feel it now?
His feet dragged him to where you and Yuji were, and he yanked you off of him. “Who- Kuroo? Shit! I forgot!” He pulled you out of the club aggressively so Yuji followed you two out. The blonde saw the anger in Kuroo’s eyes so he got worried. Alisa who was just sitting near the bar saw the whole thing and also got out because of curiosity.
“Kuroo! Let go! It hurts!” You tried to pull your arm away from him, but he wasn’t giving any signs of letting go of you.
“What if you got caught, huh?!” Kuroo scolded you as you stopped in front of his car. He parked far away from the club so no one was around. Yuji and Alisa finally caught up with the two of you. “What would our parents say if they find out?! You really want them to know how much of a slut you are?”
Slap.
“You’re a fucking asshole! I can’t believe I love you!” You screamed before running away. Kuroo was glued to the ground, too shocked about your words.
You love him? But why?
Yuji was furious. He knew he shouldn’t meddle in between the two of you but Kuroo was going too far. “You’re really calling her a slut when you’re the one who’s hitting on other girls? What a prick.”
“And you know she’s married to me but you’re still dating her? Doesn’t that make you a prick as well?” Kuroo replied, grabbing Yuji’s collar in frustration.
“She’s married to you but I’m the one fucking her, so I guess I’m at better place than you,” Yuji mocked, so Kuroo threw a punch at his face that caused the blonde’s lips to bleed.
‘What is this cocky idiot talking about? He’s a virgin!’ Alisa thought as she messaged Kenma and Matsukawa in panic.
Not long after, Kenma finally shows up and helps in calming Kuroo down. He and Alisa manages to pull the two tall boys apart. Kenma forces Kuroo to get into his car while Alisa pushes Yuji back into the club.
“What’s wrong with you? You’re not the type to start a fight,” Kenma starts the conversation as Kuroo seems to calm down. The taller guy groans in anger.
“I’m just stressed from everything and let frustration over me. I’ll apologize to Yuji tomorrow,” Kuroo says as he finally relaxed himself.
“You’re not going to say sorry to (Y/N)? Alisa said you made her cry,” Kenma states in his usual tone. Kuroo leans his head on his seat and sighs.
“She said she loves me...” Kuroo says in a confused matter. Your words replay in his head and the more he repeats it, the more confused he got. “Why?”
“Why what?”
“Why does she love me? I haven’t treated her well ever since we’ve met. I made sure she knew that I hated her. I thought she not like being married to me too, because she moved out last year and then we never saw each other after that. Then when she returned, she offered to help me with Alisa. I don’t get how she can say that she loves me,” Kuroo explains and Kenma just nods.
“How do you feel about it?” Kenma pushes the topic. Kuroo looks out of the window, thinking deeply.
“It makes me rethink of our whole marriage and relationship. I feel sorry that I treated her like that while she had feelings for me the whole time.”
Kuroo honestly doesn’t know what to do. It’s not everyday he finds out that the woman who has hated since who knows when is in love with him. He takes in a deep breath and remembers what matters at the moment: your safety.
“I have to go home and check if she’s there. Do you want me to drive you home?” Kuroo changes the topic and Kenma shakes his head no.
“I drove here so go and talk to (Y/N),” Kenma tells Kuroo before leaving his car. Kuroo thanks him and drives quickly to your place.
What if you didn’t come home? What if you passed out on the streets? You were drunk after all. Kuroo suddenly regrets his choice of words. He should not have called you a slut. His words are eating him up and the more he thinks about it, the more sorry he feels towards you.
Kuroo enters the passcode to your shared flat and relief washes over him when he sees your heels on the doorway. He takes his shoes off and gets inside. He doesn’t go to his room, but knocks on yours first.
“(Y/N). Please open the door. Let’s talk.” Kuroo says loudly so you can hear it at the other side of the wooden barrier. And of course you hear him. You’re sitting on the floor, leaning on the door. You’ve stopped crying but you’re spacing out.
You can’t believe you confessed to him. You even dropped the L-word bomb. You don’t care about how he insulted you, you are too preoccupied by the thought of what’s going to happen now. It’s better if he didn’t know of your feelings but he already does.
“(Y/N). Let’s talk.” Kuroo continues to knock. Not in your right mind due to crying and alcohol, you got up from the floor and opened your door.
Even before he can speak up, you bowed apologetically. “I’m sorry for not coming out of club when you said so. I apologize for risking our front. I’ll be more careful next time. It won’t happen again.” You tried to close the door but he placed his hand in between the frame and door so his fingers get injured.
“Ouch!” Kuroo hisses. Worry takes over you and as if on instinct, you grab his hand and take a look at it.
“I’m sorry! Let me grab ice!” You step away from him but he tugs your hand back and pins your body on the wall in ease. His damaged hand is still entwined with yours while the other is on the wall at the side of your head. Kabedon. “Kuroo...”
“Look, I know you’re trying to avoid the topic but you can’t take back what you said. And don’t reason that you’re drunk because I’m sure you aren’t. So please listen to what I’m going to say. I don’t love you back.”
“I know. So please stop. You’re hurting me,” you lower your head, stopping your tears from falling.
“Let me finish. I don’t love you back right now but I’m willing to take a chance at our relationship. One year. Let’s try working our relationship out for one year. If I end up falling in love with you, then good for us. But if I don’t, then let’s end all of this,” Kuroo proposes, cupping your cheek. You let your facade go and start to cry.
You hate yourself because you’ll allow him to do this. You hate yourself so much be ause you’ll let him get away with everything he said. You hate yourself because you’ll let him act as if he hasn’t treated you badly for the past years. You hate that you love him so much that you’ll let your toxic relationship go on for another more year. You hate that you love him so much you’re willing to get intoxicated and hurt.
“Okay...” you reply, your hand holding his that is own your cheek. “In that one year, can you pretend that you love me even if you don’t?” You’re going to get hurt anyways, so why not inflict more pain?
“I won’t just pretend. I’ll actually try to.”
This is where your love story (hopefully) begins.
I’m doing just fine
Jotaro Kujo x AFAB Reader
Tumblr media
This fic was written while listening to the Boyz II Men song “Doin’ Just Fine”
Summary: Years after leaving you to raise your daughter by yourself, Jotaro Kujo comes back with one thing in mind; wanting to be a father and husband.
Content warnings: Angst, pregnancy, arguing around children.
Your grip on the flimsy pregnancy test tightened as you glanced over the results. Positive. Maybe looking it over again will give you a different result. Positive. Blink a couple times. Positive, positive, positive. Your world came to a halt as you shiver while sitting on the toilet. What were you going to do? You weren’t ready for a child at your age. What would you tell him?
Thoughts of your boyfriend wave and crash in your mind. Jotaro Kujo, the silent and cold man from Japan who you had fallen in love with. In just a bit over year you both had become each others rock. He had walked into your life when you thought everything was lost, and it seemed like it was the same for him too. He didn’t talk too much about it but you could piece it together. He had gone through a traumatic experience as a teenager that left people that he knew dead. You didn’t question him too much, letting him come to you when he was ready.
This was going to crush him as much as it was going to crush you. Jotaro had brought up how eventually he’d like to have a family; have a successful career in marine biology and have multiple sons. But right now you were both in college, living off whatever you can get your hands on. He’s definitely had an easier ride than you but he always helped you without expecting anything in return.
You start to think back to a couple weeks ago when you had sex, an activity you both partook in regularly. There was something different that night, he was out of condoms but you both agreed that he’d be able to pull out in time. It seems that he pulled out a bit late. Embarrassment heats up your neck and up your face. A headache begins to take over when you hear a knock at your apartment door. It has to be Jotaro you think. He was clued in to your scare earlier today so he must be here to see the results.
You quickly clean and dress yourself hearing harsher and faster knocks. He was never the most patient. Running over to the door and greeting him, he lets himself in to walk to the bathroom. You try to catch up to him trying to talk but fumbling your words. You walk into the bathroom where he’s leaning over the counter, hands in fists. He looks over at you with a look in his eyes that you had never seen before. Fear.
You stay where you are, keeping your distance. You never liked too much physical attention and were grateful that he was the same. You can feel your forehead crease with your eyebrows, your eyes beginning to sting from keeping your eyes open at him. “What are we going to do?” You cough up while shaking. He loosens his fists, “We now have a responsibility as parents, but I can’t do this.” And with that he pushed you aside and started to head out the door. You lean against the door frame finally letting loose all the tears that refused to come out moments ago.
Tumblr media
Seven years later you live in a small home with your daughter who you named Jolyne. She is the apple of your eye, your sunshine that motivates you everyday. She has green eyes that she got from her fathers side of the family but she looked like you in every other way. You had given up your education all those years ago but seeing your daughter run to you everyday after school made you think that you’d do it all over again if you had to. You make your way up the walkway of the tiny primary school, strain in your ankles from a long day of work. Thoughts of dinner swirling your mind before you stop in your tracks. Jolyne hugging her teachers leg looking away while a tall man with a ripped cap talking to the teacher knocks you into reality. There’s no possibility right? He wouldn’t have the balls to try to sidestep you to see your daughter. But you were proved wrong after you jog up to the teacher.
“Jolynes mother should be here soon I do not know of Jolyne having a father.”
“I’ll wait here to talk with her.”
You catch the end of their conversation, going in to pat your hand on Jolynes back. She turns to you and immediately grips your leg yelling, “Mommy this man says that he’s my dad, is that true?” You look up at the man and you’re immediately taken aback. Turquoise blue eyes are staring you down with the old frown that you used to love. “You really suck you know that?” You scoffed, kneeling down to take Jolyne in for a hug. Her black hair tickling your chin as she nuzzles into your neck. “Yes baby that’s your father like in the pictures remember?” You coo into her ear.
“I came to see you.” He states in his familiar deep voice. You stand up, taking a light grip on Jolynes tiny hand. You give him the strongest glare that you’re able to muster up, snapping, “You probably already know where we live so why did you come here? Forget it, just follow me. We live about a block away.” He grunts and nods at you, allowing you to walk in front of him with your daughter in hand. You thank the teacher for taking care of your daughter before you begin to stomp off.
Jotaro lets his eyes wander down your figure, watching how you walk. He can’t help but feel his chest tighten looking at you hand in hand with his child. This was a sight he had always wanted but he never let himself indulge in it until today. He lets you lead him into your tiny home; two bedrooms with a shared bathroom, a small living area, and a kitchen with little to no counter space. You kneel down again to talk to Jolyne, telling her to go do her homework and to let the grownups speak. She gives Jotaro a small glance before running in her room.
“Where have you been? Why are you here now?”
“I just got back from a trip in Japan for work. I wanted to come back to see how you were doing. I also need to apologize, I made a big mistake. I shouldn’t have walked away from you all those years ago.” Jotaro takes off his white hat letting his hair dark hair fall out of place. You can feel yourself tensing up, you really didn’t want to have this sort of conversation with Jolyne in the house. She doesn’t know everything that happened with Jotaro and you didn’t want her to hear any arguing or yelling. You sigh, “Why did you think showing up at my daughters school was appropriate? You could have called me and we could have spoken in private. I know Jolyne is also your daughter but you haven’t been around as a father, not even when I took that test when we were both twenty one.” You motion for him to sit on the old couch in your living room. One that was on clearance at a rent center years ago when Jolyne was only a year old.
He sits down causing a big dip and creaking. His face goes solemn, looking down at his black and white boots. “I never meant to take your love away like that. I wasn’t ready to be a father and I wanted both of you to be safe.” He looks up at you with disappointment dripping off his features. You sit down next to him, smoothing out your work clothes and relaxing your ankles. “I know you weren’t ready to be a father but you know what Jotaro? I wasn’t ready to be a mother either. You left me alone, I had to leave university so I could raise my baby the way she deserves. You got to finish your education and seem to be doing well, I don’t know why you think making a tired apology will do you any better.” You whispered close to him. His eyes hadn’t left yours, listening intently to what you had to say. He leaned close to you acknowledging, “I am aware of the sacrifices you made for our daughter, I didn’t allow myself to be the proper father I should be. Please allow me to be a part of her life. I know you’ve most likely moved on from our love but I’ve thought about you everyday since then. I sat in my dorm, refusing to leave because I didn’t want to have to go out. I didn’t want to see you walk by and breakdown. Please understand that I’ve wanted to be the father and husband that you both deserve but I thought that I’d bring you nothing but danger. I need to be here for both of you, I want to give you a better home and a better life. Let me take care of you.”
You could feel tears wanting to spill out, why did he think he would be too dangerous to be around both of you? Could it have something to do with what happened to him when he was a teenager? “It may seem hard to believe but I’m doing just fine. We’ve been getting along very well without you. Time has made me stronger and you’re not longer on my mind.” That bit at the end was a lie, you thought about him everyday like he had about you. You had a picture of him in your wallet and in one of the drawers in your bedroom. He placed a hand over yours, covering it completely and squeezing lightly.
“You are my earth, my number one priority. You were the last woman I gave my love to, and I plan for it to only be you. You could ask me to do anything and it’d be as good as done.” Jotaro moves his other hand up to lay over your shoulder, wrapping it around your back. You sink into his white coat letting your tears waterfall down your face. He soothes your back warmly while wrapping his arms around you, squeezing you into his chest. “I really needed you Jotaro I really did. You let our love fall apart and I really want to say that you no longer have my heart and that I’m doing just fine. I haven’t had too much time to worry about myself because I’m everywhere doing everything.” He lets you ramble on against him.
You pull back after a while, looking back into his turquoise eyes, “I’ll only allow you back if Jolyne is okay to have you around. I want her to have the choice to get to know you but if she doesn’t want to, I won’t force her.” He nods, squeezing your hand again before letting his thumb rub across the back of your hand.
Smiles with a Christmas Kiss
Merry Christmas @professorerudite
Summary: Dean and Cas are left behind in the bunker on Christmas Eve. A regular movie day is planned but it slowly becomes a lot more.
It’s Christmas Eve and the bunker was quiet. It was just him and his best friend in this big place, their footsteps echoed the halls like no other time before. When it was just him and Sam the place always felt okay. It was home and it was nice but with Cas - finally human and finally staying - the place felt warm. It was a damn home again.
Jack followed Sam and Eileen on a holiday trip to Ireland. Of course, Dean had to refuse. Thinking of the long plane ride alone was making him feel sick. Though he insisted Cas should tag along with them - go see the world and all that jazz - he didn’t budge. Insisting he just wants to stay in the bunker.
Dean didn’t argue. It was nice not to be alone during the holiday season but at the same time, he hoped Cas didn’t stay behind just for him. Dean would have done what he always did for Christmas. Go to a bar full of lonely people and find someone, or someone’s, to have some fun holiday party on a motel bed.
Well, that’s what he would like to think he would have done, heck maybe a long time ago he would have done just that, but now it’s different. He hasn’t gone to a bar looking to hook up with anyone in years and he wasn’t going to start now. After throwing excuse after excuse at himself about why his libido just went into a downward spiral, fighting God and all that shit really wasn’t a good excuse for him apparently, it all came down to one angel. Well, person now.
“Good morning, Dean.” Cas walked into the kitchen, dragging his bunny slippers across the cold floor and towards the coffee machine.
Dean watched as Cas poured himself a big mug full and then sat across from him on the kitchen table to join him. Dean already had the sugar and creamer on the table, prepared for Cas who always gets up a few minutes after him.
As soon as he took a sip he smiled into his mug and Dean rested his chin on the palm of his hand as he watched. Enjoying the way Cas’s eyes crinkle at the side when he smiled with his eyes closed. He even shivered just a little as the hot drink ran down his body, holding the hot mug in between both his hands and close to his face.
“Morning, Sunshine.” Dean finally tells him as Cas placed his mug down on the table to smile back at him.
He could live like this for the rest of his life. As much as Dean wanted more, he was okay with this. Having Cas like this. Seeing him like this. Shaggy hair that curls up at the tips and stubble that was already too long but must feel so good against Dean’s skin. Cas’s baggy sweatpants that fall too low on his hips and Dean’s old band tees that were exclusively worn for sleep cling to his muscled frame.
Cas was just art that he could enjoy looking at but not touch. At least not the way he dreams to touch.
A happy sigh escapes Cas’s lips as he rolls his shoulders back and reaches for the untouched toast on Dean’s plate. “Merry Christmas Eve by the way.” He took a bite of the toast with butter and then made a face before he reached for the jam. Sweet tooth. He took another bite before he started talking with his mouth full. “I know you don’t celebrate but I still hope we can watch that movie you wanted to show me.”
Dean hummed in response as he sat up straighter, reaching for his coffee to have his hands do something. “We can do that.”
“Which reminds me we also need to go grocery shopping. We’re running low on supplies.”
“Cookies?”
“Exactly.” Cas winked at him.
Dean laughed and it always felt like he was floating when it was Cas who made him laugh. Yeah, he can live like this. If he can have these mornings everyday then he can live with Cas as his friend.
Grocery shopping took a while even though the place was mostly empty. Dean had a list and Cas kept ignoring it to add random junk he wanted to taste. Some of the stuff Dean hasn’t even tasted himself, “Then we can experience it together.” Was all Cas said and Dean couldn’t argue with him on that.
“What do people do on Christmas Eve?” Cas asked when they walked back to the car to load the groceries. “That child looked at us with pity when we told him we didn’t have any plans for today.”
“Dude, how am I supposed to know?”
“You know more than me.”
“The last real Christmas I had - I was three, Cas.” Dean opened the trunk of the Impala to start stuffing the bags. “Plus, I’m pretty sure that I imagine all those happy memories I had with my Mom and Dad.”
“I’m sure some were real, Dean.” Cas placed the last of the bags in the trunk as he looked at him with a small smile. Pity smile. “You’re Mother loved you so I’m sure she would have done her best to give you-”
“Cas,” Dean sighed as he closed the trunk with a loud thud. “I just want to watch some movies and sit on the couch with you and a tray full of nachos. I don’t want to psychoanalyze my childhood.”
“Ah.” Cas nodded, another smile. This one was softer and warmer. A smile that felt reserved for just Dean. Cas’s cheeks were even rosy from the cold wind piercing through their many layers. “Understood. I’ll take the cart back and you start the car then.”
Dean watched Cas walk away, scratching the back of his head when he saw him walk back into the grocery store. He was going to go after him but decided to do what he was told and just start the car. Maybe they needed a quick getaway.
Cas returned a few moments later with nothing in his hands.
“Dude, what the hell?”
Cas just shrugged and put his hands up to the heater. “Thank you for waiting for me.”
That was the only response he knew he was going to get from his angel - oh wow! Not his. Not even a damn angel anymore.
Dean drove them home while Cas turned on the radio. Tapping his fingers on his knee to the beat of the music. Dean wondered how Cas would react if he just reached over and twined their hands together but instead he gripped the steering wheel tighter.
It was already late when Dean called Cas over to watch the movie. He was going to go with Die Hard, his childhood Christmas movie he watched with Dad, but Dean had a feeling that Cas wanted a movie where it was actually about Christmas. So he picked his other childhood Christmas movie. A Christmas Story.
Cas walked in, his blanket already in tow, and took a seat on one end of the couch. Dean sat on the other with the nachos tray right in between them. Cas sat with his legs crossed and tucked into a corner, almost facing Dean, while he reached into the food before the movie even began to play.
“So you watched this as a kid?” Cas said, mouth full and head tilted as Dean settled on his side of the couch.
“Yup.” Was all Dean said as he handed Cas a beer and pressed play.
It was only the first few minutes when Ralph walked in with a full cowboy getup that Cas laughed and when he met Dean’s curious eyes, enjoying every second of that rare laugh. Cas pointed at Ralph and then him. “Dean that’s you.” He laughed harder as soon as the words left his mouth and Dean hit him with a pillow.
The nachos were moved to the table in front of them, where Dean had his feet propped up.
Cas continued to make little comments as the movie went on.
“Ah, reminds me of that whoopee cushion prank you did on me.” Cas noted as he took a sip of beer.
“All of that for a damn tongue on a pole?” Cas sounded so annoyed that Dean spits out his beer laughing.
They somehow moved closer on the couch with every little comment Cas made. From the mention of yellow eyes. To ask what was put in Ralph’s mouth after he said fudge. (“Dude he said fuck.” “So? You say it all the time.” “I’m a grown man.” “Oh. Children can’t say it?”)
As soon as Ralph said son of a bitch Cas was somehow already shoulder to shoulder with Dean. He laughed, his shoulders shaking, before turning to look at Dean with that big smile again. Dean never thought anybody could look as beautiful as Cas did when he grinned at him like that.
“Dean, I told you that’s you.” He smiled and Dean didn’t have it in him to argue, even as a joke. Instead, he nodded, smiling back at Cas, while his grinch heart grew three sizes.
This was supposed to be a safe nonromantic movie but Dean hasn’t watched it in a while. He forgot the ending when the parents sat in the dark, just like they were in now, and enjoyed the snow falling. With only the Christmas lights shining.
A few years ago he wouldn’t have thought it was romantic - there was no kissing or grunting in this scene what so ever- but the soft touches is what he craves now. He was already so close to Cas as it is. Feeling the warmth radiate off his best friend while his blanket was now over both their laps, he doesn’t even remember when that happened.
He was already so close. Dean could turn his head and his nose could be buried in Cas’s hair, the smell of nature still follows Cas around, and he could hold him. Hold him like he has always wanted to hold Cas, with no immediate danger or death hanging over them. He just wanted to hold Cas because he wanted to hold him. No reason.
Cas leaned into him a little more, untucking his feet from underneath him so he could lay them flat on the ground. Dean noticed every fidget of Cas’s fingers and he wondered if Cas was uncomfortable with the closeness but then in a sudden move Cas had an arm around Dean’s shoulders. Cas cleared his throat as he squeezed Dean’s shoulder closer to him - trying to act like this was a normal thing for them- while Dean stared at him with wide eyes.
Dean couldn’t find the words. He wanted to say some dumb joke or push Cas off but he stopped himself. Instead, he relaxed under the touch and leaned into it.
“Oh, um, the movie ended.” Cas cleared his throat while he started to pull his hand away.
“I’ll, um, I’ll just - let me pick another one.” Dean reached for the remote and picked a random movie in the Christmas category and pressed play. Then he leaned back into the couch again and Cas’s arm was around him again.
Dean doesn’t remember how many movies they watched that night or how he ended up falling asleep on a couch too small to hold two grown men. But he didn’t care because now he had Cas’s fingers making small circles on his back and the touch was so gentle.
“Merry Christmas, Dean.” Cas must have known he woke up.
So Dean folded his arms over Cas’s chest and looked down at him. He could feel the dumb smile on his mouth. “Merry Christmas, Cas.”
“I know it’s customary to give gifts now.” Cas started reaching for something on the floor while Dean opened his mouth to argue but Cas looked at him with those just-shut-up-Dean raised eyebrows so he listened. “It’s something small I got at the grocery store so I’m sorry it’s not something you may want but I believe you deserve a Christmas gift, Dean.”
They both sat up when Cas pulled out a small shiny gift bag with a Christmas tree right out front. Dean wondered when Cas even had time to get this or sneak it in as he sat crisscross back on the couch while Cas copied him. Handing over the present with a wry smile.
“I didn’t even get you anything, Cas.” Dean started saying, hesitant to get the present.
Cas shrugged. “You can make it up to me later. Now take it.”
Dean took it and it didn’t even have tissue paper to hide what was inside. Dean laughed as he pulled out a few Reese’s shaped like a Christmas tree, some DVD of a movie he hasn’t even heard of so it must be new, and a gift card for Dominos pizza.
“These are great, Cas.” Dean laughed looking down at his gifts. “Looks like you already planned our next date night.”
“I did?” Cas looked down at his presents before looking back at Dean with wide eyes. “Date night?”
“I mean, only if you want to-”
“I want to!” Cas quickly leaned into Dean’s space again and he probably didn’t mean to lean in so close but Dean was also not thinking as he met him halfway to press their lips together. It was just a quick kiss before they pulled apart.
Dean didn’t say anything as they sat back on their seats. Staring at anything but each other.
Cas cleared his throat. “Was that my Christmas gift?”
Dean chuckled. “Yeah, I’m cheap.”
“Can I have another gift then?” Cas asked, leaning his head down so he could catch Dean’s downward gaze. He was blushing -fuck he was blushing- as he smiled at him again and Dean was taken back to that morning. Where he thought that he could live with just having that smile in his life but now he knows how that smile felt against his own.
Dean only nodded once before Cas fell back into him. Their lips smashing together into a grinning kiss, teeth smacking together, as Dean wrapped his arms around Cas’s waist to pull him closer. Then he pulled away just enough to kiss Cas again, slowly as he took everything in. Cas’s weight on his lap. Cas’s fingers on his face while he held the back of his neck. The soft noises Cas kept making at the back of his throat as they moved against each other that was making Dean crazy.
He can have this. Can have Cas and it was a damn Christmas miracle that Cas was dumb enough to want Dean the same way. And fuck his stubble did feel great against his skin.
“Merry Christmas, Cas.” Dean said when they pulled apart to breathe, their foreheads touching.
Cas grinned, a small laugh shook his body and Dean felt every shake that was in his arms. “Merry Christmas, Dean.”
Thanks @destielsecretsanta2020 for this fun project!
Hey there, I just LOVE your work with avengers x daughter!reader so I had a request for you...I'm sorry if it's too much..
Could you write an imagine where the reader is the daughter of Stephen Strange. She never went to school but learnt magic with her dad and became an avenger. She was best friends with Peter and was also secretly crushing on him, and was always open to her dad about this but she couldn't tell Peter because he was always telling her stuff about MJ so her dad encourages her into confessing to Peter and she actually ends up with him?
(A/N: dude I haven’t done a marvel request in a while 🥺 but this request is really cute so I’ll do it!!)
Warning: maybe just the reader feeling insecure, but that’s about it.
Tumblr media
Being the daughter of a sorcerer was pretty amazing if you do say so yourself, it’s not everyday where a teenager learns magic and uses it against criminals. It also wasn’t everyday where a teenager would join the avengers along side with their father, Steven Strange was your father it was always the both of you, but he would always be busy with being a doctor and everything UNTIL he got into a car accident and was put in the hospital. He wasn’t the same after that.. the car accident messed up his hands badly and his career just vanished before his eyes, until he went on a trip to the Himalayas and found his purpose again. He came back home only to show you what he learned there and told you everything about what happened, after that he moved you into the house where he was trained since now he was the new master for the sorcerers there.
You stopped going to school, but that didn’t mean you’d stop getting an education your father was smart so he taught you eveything he knew. He even taught you magic it amazed him how quickly you learned even Wong was impressed “She might become the new master in the future.” He would always say to Strange which made him proud he knew you’d be amazing if you did. After teaching you everything he knew about magic he decided to introduce you to the avengers, EVERYONE was shocked that he even had a daughter “so why didn’t we know about her?” Tony asked “it wasn’t necessary for you guys to know especially since she didn’t know any magic like I did.” He simply responded.
Everyone become like a close family to you, Steve taught you about his era and even how to draw which was amazing since his drawings looked very realistic. Natasha was like a mother to you, she’d given you so much advise and even how to fight (but you never liked fighting against her since she’d always win.) Thor was like a fun uncle you two broke so many rules and he’d even challenge you to see who could eat the most PopTarts (yeah you’re losing this one too.) Bucky was a bit harder to get close to, he wasn’t sure of himself or anyone else besides Steve, Steve didn’t tell you everything about his past only that Bucky endured a lot of painful things which made him not able to trust people quickly. He slowly did start trusting you afterwards when you talked to him more and showed him the magic your father taught you.
Then there was Peter Parker who was around your age, the both of you became friends quickly when Tony introduced him to you. The both of you shared the same interests in things and whenever Peter was having trouble you’d be the person he would always text or call. It was only a few months later did you realize your feelings for him, but unfortunately Peter always talked about a girl in his class named MJ. At first you tried not showing your feelings about it, but everytime he mentioned her name you couldn’t help; but just roll your eyes. It was obvious he liked her if he mentioned her all the time, you started spending less time with him always saying “I need to go study more spells.” Or “Sorry I’m spending time with my dad.” When really you were sulking around the avengers tower.
You were sitting near Bucky as you had a notebook in your lap as you drew a sketch of him, he never really cared if you drew him he was always happy to see the results when you were done. This time though something was off you were glaring down at the paper and you were pressing your pencil so hard onto the sheet of paper “Y/N is something wrong?” He asked you finally looked away from the sketch and looked at him “n-no! What why would you say that?” You ask nervously. “Well.. you seem to be really.. rough with the paper and I could hear you often mumble some words.” Shit why did you always forget he was a super soldier and he could hear things so easily?! “Have you ever.. liked someone?” You asked brining the notebook a bit higher to your face so Bucky wouldn’t see you blushing “Y/N why are you asking me this? Seriously what’s going on?” He asked.
“Finnne! You can’t tell anyone! S-So.. I’ve been liking Peter for a while and-“ Bucky quickly interrupts you “the spider..kid?” He asked. You sighed “Yes Bucky the Spider-Kid anyways.. I’ve been liking him for a while, but I think he likes someone else.” You frown sadly “he’s always mentioning their name when they have absolutely nothing to do with our conversation so I’ve-“ suddenly you hear someone come into the room you quickly shut your mouth and pull the notebook up to your face again. “and here I thought I was alone in the avengers tower.” You heard Loki say as he sat next to you.
“We were having a conversation.” Bucky said to him while crossing his arms “oh? Do enlighten me about this conversation.” Loki said sarcastically.
Bucky then starts arguing against Loki as Loki only argues against him, you let out a sigh before getting up from the couch and leaving to your room. Once you get to your room you set your notebook down before throwing yourself onto your bed and whine into your pillow, it was so frustrating. You wanted to tell Peter how you felt, but he already liked someone and you were scared that you’d ruin the friendship between the both of you. You got up from your bed and you summoned a portal to where your father was, you stepped inside the portal as you did it closed right behind you.
“Dad?” You called out to him as you did so suddenly you saw your father’s red cape quickly rush to you before wrapping itself around you, you giggled “I missed you too pal.” You saw your father walk down the stairs “Y/N? What are you doing here?” He asked as his cape returned back to him. “I just.. wanted to see you it’s been 2 days since I’ve last seen you.” Your father smiled at you gently “I know and I’m sorry.. I’ve been busy with the other sorcerers and helping them master magic.” You nodded “it’s okay.. I actually wanted to talk to you about something.” You said before going over to sit down, your father followed behind you as he sat down across from you.
Two cups of tea summoned before you both “thank you.” You said taking a sip “You’re welcome now what’s wrong Y/N?” Your father asked. You let out a sigh “you know Peter Parker right?” He nodded “that spider-kid right?” You rolled your eyes “Yes.. well we’ve been best friends for a long time and you know we get along pretty well and I’d say we have similar taste in things and well.. I-I’m in love with him, but I don’t think he likes me.” Your father didn’t interrupt you as he carefully listened to every word you said “he keeps mentioning someone else and I can’t help, but get jealous y’know? I try not to because I don’t want to ruin our friendship, but.. I just really care about him and I want to tell him; but I’m afraid..” you said lowering your gaze down to the ground.
“Afraid? Afraid of what sweetie?” Your father asked “of getting rejected.. or him wanting to stop being friends with me..” you said bringing your knees close to your chest your father quickly gets up and wraps his arms around you “Y/N.. it’s okay to be afraid, but I think you should tell him.”
“But what if he doesn’t like me?” You asked.
“Sometimes not everyone we love will be in our future Y/N, but if you don’t tell him how will you know if he does or doesn’t love you?” He was right, even if Peter didn’t like you like that at least you would know.. “Thank you dad.. I’m going to tell him then.” You said getting up from your chair you summoned a portal to your room before you leave you quickly jump into his arms and give him a hug “thank you dad for the advice.” You say to him he hugs you back gently stroking your hair “of course Y/N I’ll be at the avengers tower soon.” He said letting you go. You nodded before stepping inside the portal and close it, you send Peter a message asking him to come to your room once he was done with school for the day.
While you waited you felt yourself getting nauseous as seconds and minutes passed by what if he wasn’t coming? What if he stopped being friends with you because you didn’t hang out with him anymore? Suddenly you heard your door click open you looked up and saw Peter his faced was flushed as he was breathing heavily “I-I got your text what’s up?” He asked He came running to you? Why would he even do that? You didn’t know what to say you only grabbed your pillow and held it against your face don’t cry, don’t cry! You kept shouting to yourself “p-please turn around Peter.” You mumbled against your pillow. Peter gave you a questionable look before turning around, you slowly pulled the pillow away from your face.
“A-And don’t interrupt me.. please?” You saw him nod “I’ve.. liked you for a long time Peter-“ you saw him tense up “I know it’s awkward, but I need to tell you that I really love you Peter you’ve become such a good friend to me especially when I didn’t have anyone around who was my age, you’ve shown me how to be happy and how to have a fun time-“ your lips trembled “a-and if you don’t like me back that’s okay! I just wanted to let you know because it’s been building up inside of me for a few weeks so-“ before you could finish Peter quickly turned around and pulled you in closer to him before planting his lips onto yours. You gasped against his lips you didn’t expect him to kiss you like that.. and what about MJ? you melted into his kiss his lips were so soft against yours it all felt like a dream..
You both pulled away from each other “P-Peter I thought-“
“Sorry Y/N I’m not really good with my words o-or even showing signs that I like someone.” He said holding you against his chest.
“So.. you liked me all this time? What about MJ?” You asked.
“MJ? She’s just a friend Y/N.. don’t tell me you were jealous.” You pouted as he said that you gently slap his chest “oh hush! Don’t ruin the moment..” you said to him. He laughed while planting a soft kiss on top of your head, you felt your heart flutter “so.. does that mean we’re dating now?” You asked him “if you want to then yes.” Peter said you bury your face into his chest “of course I do dummy I wouldn’t have poured out my feelings like that if I didn’t.”
Bonus!
“See? I told you they’d end up together Rogers.” Tony said to Steve who only scoffed “I thought you were protective of Y/N Tony.” Steve commented back “I am, but Parker is a good kid so I know he’ll treat her right.” While they both bickered Bucky turned his attention to Strange “what about you? How do you feel?” He asked him “I’m happy for her she deserves happiness, but I won’t hesitate to send Peter off to another dimension if he breaks Y/N’s heart.” He said glaring at the TV. Bucky chuckled “I think we’re all on the same page as you.”
Plain Gold Ring V:
Exactly Like You
“I know why I waited
Know why I've been blue
I've been waiting each day
For someone exactly like you” - Nina Simone
——————————————————————
Your last day in D.C. felt like the last day of your life. This life. Every article of clothing was packed. Every knickknack and tchotchke sent with the movers. You were ready for your next life. Did your next life include Andy?
The weather was beautiful. Sunny. Not too hot. You and Andy had planned on spending it outside seeing the sites. He had never toured any of the museums. You invited Jacob along. The second you said it you wished you hadn’t. You felt like a home wrecker even though Andy promised Jacob wouldn’t see you that way.
Andy was bristling with excitement. “He’s going to love you, baby.” You were not great with kids. You actively chose not to have them. You loved your nieces from a distance when they were little. Now that they are teenagers you feel a little more at ease with them. You are their cool rich aunt who spends an absolutely outrageous amount of money on them when you visit. You nearly fainted when Andy asked if you’d like to have children.
“Aren’t I too old for that?”
“You’re only three years younger than me. I know a lot of women who had their career before they had a family.” Your face snapped from terrified to anger real quick, “Not that you can’t have a career and be a mother. People do it everyday. Shut up, Andy.”
“You’re cute when you’re nervous. Have you thought of having children with me?”
He rubbed the back of his neck, “Well, yeah. I’d like to have a couple more.”
“Oh. A couple he says.” You could feel the hives forming. “This seems like a good conversation to have right before I leave.”
He ran his hands up and down your arms. “I’m sorry. I don’t want to pressure you. You haven’t thought about it? Not even a little?” The door buzzed in the nick of time.
“Jacob’s here! Hallelujah!” You wiggled out of his arms to grab your shoes.
He laughed shaking his head. “We’ll finish this conversation later, young lady.” he pressed the intercom button, “Hey come on up, buddy. This is going to be great, honey.” He loved your nervous laugh and the way you fidgeted with your fingers. Just the fact that you were nervous told him you would love his son.
You heard voices coming from the living area. Fucking hell. Was that Lori? You contemplated going out of the window. You went into the bathroom to grab some lip balm. You knew full well that it was in your bag on the kitchen island. You were just staying out of their way. When you heard the front door close you reemerged.
“Ready to go?” Your eyes were wide and you were way too smiley. If Andy didn’t know better he would think you were on drugs.
“Yeah. I think no more coffee for you ok?”
“It’s nice to see you again, Miss Y/N.” Jacob extended his hand.
“Nice to see you too. So! The Smithsonian. What part are you most interested in seeing?”
“Air and space I think.”
“Then that’s where we’ll start. My grandfather’s name is actually on a plaque. I’ll show you. He was in the navy and built planes that were used in Korea I think. And my dad’s picture is there. He works for a division of NASA back in Louisiana where I’m from. He developed this little part of the rocket booster. He’s literally a rocket scientist.”
“That’s really cool. I’d love to meet him sometime…..”
Andy was loving every second of this. You and Jacob really got along. You were making plans to visit your father and stepmother over the summer and maybe hit the beach in Florida. Jacob’s face lit up at the prospect of meeting your family. Both Andy and Lori were only children. Jacob didn’t grow up with cousins or really any kids his own age outside of school. He seemed pretty comfortable with the idea of you and Andy together.
Andy tested the waters a little by holding your hand. Jacob didn’t seem to notice. By the time you got to the next part of the museum he had his arms around your waist. He even kissed you a couple of times. Nothing but a tender peck here and there. Jacob didn’t seem to mind when he showed you affection.
After lunch Andy dropped you off and then ran Jacob back home.
“So, what are you thinking?” Andy asked with nervous trepidation.
“The museum was cool. I really liked the rockets. It’s cool that Y/N’s dad made those.”
“Did you like Y/N?”
“Yeah. Sucks she’s moving. Do you think you’ll move to Chicago too?”
“Kind of depends on you, bud. I know you’re getting older and you don’t need Dad around very much anymore. I don’t want to miss anything. You’re my only baby.”
“I could spend summers with you. You look really happy. I haven’t seen you this happy in a long time. Even before the trial. I’d miss you but you should be happy.”
The whole way inside Jacob talked about you. He clammed up when Lori walked in.
“Hey, guys. Did you have a good time?” She kissed Jacob on the forehead.
“We had a great time. Ok, Jake. You have the number where I’ll be. I’ll be back on Wednesday. If you’re not busy next weekend you can spend the night. I have your room all set up. Love you.”
“Ok. Love you. Have a safe flight. Tell Y/N I said bye.” He escaped to his room before the arguing started.
“If it’s ok I’ll pick him up from school Thursday. Did you sign the papers?”
“She went with you?” Her voice was deadly quiet.
“She did.”
“Didn’t want to tell me that before hand I guess.”
He sighed and wiped his face with his hands, “I’ll have him back Sunday night. See you later.”
“Fuck you, Andy. You can’t even give me the courtesy of telling me my son would be meeting his father’s whore!”
He slammed his fist on the counter, “Did you sign the papers or not?” She threw the manilla envelope at him.
“They’re signed.” He took the papers and walked out slamming the door. He contemplated moving again. He has a month to month lease on his place. It wouldn’t be hard for him to find a job. He knew Jacob would be fine. Chicago was looking better and better. After all the baby talk this morning he wouldn’t burden you with anything else domestic for today.
——————————————————————
You were zipping your last suitcase when you heard Andy come in. You packed all of your sleep clothes so you were wearing Andy’s t-shirt and panties. Dinner was ordered and he had a drink waiting on the counter. He called out for you. When you rounded the corner into the living room he caught you in his arms.
“Hey, handsome.” you cooed in his ear. He nuzzled your neck and stroked your back. “You ok? Was Jacob….he hates me. I knew it.”
He tightened his hold on you, “Honey, he loved you. He talked about you the whole way back.”
“Then why is your face all worried?”
“Because I’m keenly aware that this is our last night together in my place. That when I come home Wednesday you won’t be here. I’ll go to work on Thursday and Jeremy will be in your office. I have really good memories in that office and now they’re ruined. I don’t want to wake up without you.”
His hands traveled up your bare back then back down to cup your ass. “The delivery app says they’re going to be here in twenty minutes. Think you can finish in time?”
He lowered his head between your breasts and nodded yes. Before you knew it your panties were off, his pants were down and he was fucking you against the wall. His pace was relentless. You hooked your ankles at the small of his back and leaned back so you could rub your clit. Your fingertips brushed against his dick every time he pumped in and out of your cunt. You both came in fifteen minutes.
You ate dinner on the veranda loving the cool breeze on your bare skin. As much as he wanted his t-shirt to smell like you, he like naked picnics way more. Admittedly, a big chicken Caesar salad wasn’t the sexiest food in the world. Still didn’t stop him from licking dressing off of your chest when it dropped off your fork. He was determined to fuck you in almost every room in this place.
You slept tangled and sticking together all night. You had finally gotten over your need for bed space. You’d miss it when he wasn’t there. All night the two of you wanted to bring up moving in together. Neither of you had the guts to say it. You didn’t want to beat a dead horse. He didn’t want to freak you out. Good thing you’d be long distance for a while to work on your communication skills.
——————————————————————
Your new place was beautiful. You rented a big new condo close to Millennial Park. Your office was on Michigan Ave so you weren’t far from there thought walking was highly discouraged. It wouldn’t be possible in heels anyway.
You and Andy worked diligently unpacking and cleaning. When the last box was unpacked and broken down you both collapsed on the couch. “I feel disgusting.”
“You have that nice big bathtub. Bet we can both fit.” He raised an eyebrow at you and nudged your side.
“You are insatiable, Mr. Barber. Whatever will I do without you?”
“You’ll bust from horniness. Come on.” He hoisted you up from your comfy spot and pulled you into the bathroom. While he undressed you filled the water with soft musky oils and some bubble bath. You lit candles and eased in to relax. He washed your hair massaging your scalp with his fingertips. He held you in the warmth until your fingers and toes were pruned.
For the rest of the week, if you were sitting it was on Andy’s lap. If you were sleeping it was in his arms. By Tuesday morning, you had both finished up conference calls and responding to emails. You had cleared the rest of your day to spend together.
As the sunlight dwindled it had become harder and harder to part. You couldn’t take it anymore. You had to have the conversation you had been dreading since you stepped off the plane.
“Andy, I don’t want to sound like a nagging girlfriend but, I really want you to move in with me. I know it would be so hard leaving Jacob but I have plenty of room. He can spend every summer here if he wants. I’d love to have him. I feel really strongly that this is leading somewhere. I’ll even talk about babies if you want.”
His heart was bursting. You kept rambling on trying to convince him. Little did you know he was already convinced. “Stan is going to kill you.” He laughed and pulled you onto his lap. “Give me a few weeks to wrap up everything.”
When you dropped him at the airport there were tears but you knew you’d see him soon. “I love you, baby. I’ll call you as soon as I land.” He kissed you like he would never get to do it again.
“I love you too. See you soon.” He smiled through his tears.
“See you soon.”
——————————————————————
That weekend he spent all of his time with Jacob. He planned on spending every moment he could with his son. Jacob even had his first few weeks planned starting with meeting your family in Louisiana.
When he brought Jacob home on Sunday he worked up the courage to tell Lori the news. “Do you have all of your stuff for your English assignment? If not I can bring it by before school tomorrow.”
“I got it, dad. I had fun this weekend.” They hugged. He smelled Jacob’s hair and kissed him.
“Love you. Be good for mom.”
“Love you too!”
Lori stood in the doorway with her arms folded protectively over her chest. “So she’s gone?”
“Yep.”
“So what now? What does this mean for you?”
He pulled out the kitchen chair and rested his head in this hands. “This wasn’t a fling, Lori. I’m moving to Chicago. Jacob is real excited about spending summers with us.”
“Do you love her?” Tears shimmered in her eyes and her voice wavered. It would be cruel to lie to her.
“Very much.” It stung to hear. With nothing left to say Andy stood to leave.
“Andy!” she called after him. When he turned she wrapped him in a hug. The two of them embraced for several minutes.
When he stepped onto the sidewalk outside of the building his phone buzzed in his pocket. He saw your face smiling back at him.
“Hey, baby. How was your day?” He looked up at your old window and thought of how the two of you started, the past he left behind and smiled at the sound of his future on the other end of the line.
~Pop goes [Y/n]~
Yandere! Laughing Jack x Female!Reader
“ Hey [Y/N]?”
“ Yes, dear old brother of mine?”
“ I finally made a friend. . .”
“ Oh? What does this friend look like? What’s his name?”
“ Well his name is Laughing Jack and he is a clown!”
“ Oh, a clown? I love clowns!! When can I meet him!”
“ He’s my friend [Y/N]. . .”
[Y/N] little brother whined as he looked at his sister hanging upside down from the tree in their backyard. [Y/N] wasn’t like most girls, while most girls would ignore their brother, younger or older [Y/N] didn’t. She absolutely adored her younger brother Zach.
“ I’m not trying to take away your friend silly!! I just want to meet him!! How does he look?”
“ Well. . . he is super tall and is black and white all over. Plus he-”
“ Wait. He is black and white?”
“ Yes, dummy if you listened-”
“ Why isn’t he colorful like the rest of the clowns we’ve seen?”
“ I don’t know but I can ask him!”
“ Please do because I am curious! Can’t keep me in suspense now can you?”
Jumping down from the tree [Y/N] fixed her clothing which consisted of jeans and a hoodie, complementing the cold temperatures plaguing her small town. Fixing her hair so it wasn’t in the way, [Y/N] ran to engulf Zach in a hug as she twirled him around laughing, causing Zach to smile and laugh as well.
“ You know I love you right Zach!”
“ Of course! You tell me that everyday sister!”
“ Well, I don’t want you to forget okay! Now let’s go back inside because I am freezing out here and I know that we are both craving some food right about now.”
“ Okay [Y/N]! Also, Jack told me that he doesn’t have color because he isn’t like most clowns!”
“ Well, that’s interesting, we don’t attack creativity or originality so that’s good!”
~~
“ YOU’RE LEAVING US!”
“ I CAN’T STAND IT HERE WITH YOU ANYMORE!”
“ OH SO FUCK YOUR WIFE AND KIDS HUH? YOU KNOW HOW HARD IT IS FOR ME TO GET A JOB RIGHT? NOW YOU’RE LEAVING ME AND THE KIDS FOR THAT WHORE!”
“ DON’T INSULT HER LIKE THAT! IT’S NOT MY FAULT I FOUND THE RIGHT ONE A LITTLE LATER THAN USUAL! BESIDES, IT SEEMS YOU HAVE ENOUGH PEOPLE TO SUSTAIN YOU!”
“ WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT MEAN?”
“ MAYBE IF YOU STOPPED WHORING AROUND MAYBE WE WOULDN’T BE HERE!”
“ AND THE KIDS?”
“ YOU BIRTHED THEM NOT ME! YOUR PROBLEM NOT MINE!”
As the screaming raged on [Y/N] Zach close by as he was sobbing in the hug. Asking his big sister why their parents were arguing and why they were screaming, most importantly why they were hiding but [Y/N] only smiled as she laughed and placed a kiss on Zach’s forehead.
“ It’s okay Zach! Remember the song I taught you, “ Half a pound of tuppenny rice, Half a pound of treacle, That's the way the money goes, Pop goes the weasel!”
Zach nodded before singing as soft gasps came out as he tried to calm his breathing and stop his crying as he sang with [Y/N]. Soon after the screams ended  [Y/N] smiled as Zach fell asleep with his cheeks all puffy and slightly red. Kissing his forehead slightly, [Y/N] whispered as she promised Zach a promise that she has yet to break.
“ I’ll protect you Zach, I swear it. Nothing and  no one will harm you for as long as I live.”
The next day [Y/N] woke up with Zach’s hand holding her own as she guided him down the stairs after brushing their teeth in the morning. [Y/N] smiled as she and Zach both jumped down from the second step to the floor, giggling a bit as they skipped over to the kitchen. To their surprise, their mother was already up and running cursing small curses as she tried to make breakfast for her kids.
“ You kids are awake! Great I have an interview at 9 and it’s 8:45! [Y/N], you can finish the rest of the breakfast right? Remember chores first and games later okay! See you soon!”
Their mother ran as she hurriedly put on her heels and grabbed her purse, exiting the house soon enough. [Y/N] stood holding the spoon that was used to mix the contents of a pot wondering what the hell she was supposed to do.
“ Um. . . Zach, sit at the table and I’ll make us breakfast okay!”
“ Okay [Y/N].”
[Y/N] grabbed a chair and climbed it to peek at the contents, it was just oatmeal but it couldn’t be that hard to make, could it? She simply got the container and read the directions making sure to follow it correctly. After making the food [Y/N] served it and handed a plate to Zach and placed hers next to him.
“  [Y/N] I’m thirsty.”
“ I think we have some spare orange juice, I’ll see if I can find it.”
Going to the fridge [Y/N] opened it and found a small bottle of orange juice that was filled enough for both of them to drink from. As she made it back she served her brother a cup of juice which he drank rapidly. [Y/N] only smiled as she picked up her own spoon only for Zach to say, “ [Y/N] my food is hot. Can you blow on it?”
Sighing a bit she laughed and picked up the spoon blowing on it slightly to cool down the oatmeal and decided to play around with it.
“ Zach! Here comes the airplane!”
Making childish sound, ‘vrooom’, ‘ Zooom’ she spoonfed Zach the oatmeal she prepared, it seemed like the disaster that occurred yesterday was being drowned out of the laughter of Zach as he enjoyed playing with his older sister.
~~
“ [Y/N] I’m hungry.”
“ Hold on Zach if we could rush cooking trust me I would, I am starving.”
“ Jack gave me some candy that I could have.”
“ And he didn’t give me some? I am offended.”
“ Because you are a girl [Y/N]”
“ That does not make sense but okay I guess, treasure your candy and I’ll treasure our dinner.”
“ Wait, I want to eat dinner too!”
“ You already have candy Zach, you can’t have dinner if you have candy!”
“ O-okay! I’ll put it away!”
“ I’m just playing Zach but if you have candy before dinner it will give you a tummy ache, and you won’t enjoy candy if you do that.”
“ Hmm... Okay [Y/N]”
Mixing around the chicken noodle soup [Y/N] pondered and thought where her brother got the candy from. He said Jack gave it to him, but Jack wasn’t real was he? Unless. . .
“ Hey Zach, question what kind of Candy did Jack give you?”
“ Hm. . . not sure all I know is that they are colorful though. I would share but Jack doesn’t want you to have any.”
“ Hmph! Fine! That’s fine, I guess I won’t share my soup with him either! His loss. . .”
At the sound of this sarcastic remark, Zach jumped up to say, “ H-he says that he can’t give you candy because you aren’t special but your soup looks tasty!”
“ Oh? Well, thanks for the compliment Jack but it’s a shame that I’m not special enough for candy. If there is extra feel free to take some soup I guess.”
[Y/N] began to serve dinner with a pondering thought. ‘That candy came from nowhere so it’s only safe to assume that Zach is lying or Jack is real, what did he mean by special? There isn’t much difference between me and Zach aside from age, I would say the both of us have vivid imaginations and similar personality. Wait! Could it be age? I’m gonna have to keep Zach close by... .until I get to the bottom of what’s happening.’
[ Y/N only stared at Zach eat the soup with a smile on his face, Zach was the only reason [Y/N] could even smile in this world.
“ Brush your teeth?”
“ Yes.”
“ Wash your face?”
“ Yes.”
“ Ready for bed?”
“ Yes- WAIT! NO! THAT’S NOT FAIR!”
“ Keep it down Zach! Before the neighbors come after my as- I mean come complain!”
“ Were you about to say a naughty word?”
“ Yes, but I didn’t. Anyway’s we are having a sibling sleepover because mom isn’t coming home till late so.”
“ Yay! Does that mean I get to cuddle next to that bear dad got you?”
“ Yes, yes it does. Now onward child to my room!”
“ Yay! Wait, Jack is asking why I can’t sleep by myself.”
“ Well, Yah see Jack, Zach and I have sibling sleepovers that not even mom can stop so, it’s a tradition and I will be shook if it ends now!”
“ What does that mean?”
“ It’s best if thy don’t know!”
“ Hmph! Rude.”
“ I-, okay well someone ain’t getting cuddles!”
“ Aww C’mon!”
“ Well hurry to bed.”
“ Okay, wait,  Jack where are you going?”
“ Is Jack leaving or something?”
“ He said he is going to walk around the house.”
“ Huh, okay just make sure to watch out for some steps.” el
Suddenly, sleep overcame everyone as Zach cuddled into [Y/N] as [Y/N] only stared in horror as she saw the silhouette of another being, assuming they are only staring at them. It was a tall-skinned being with shaggy hair. [Y/N] could not see who or what it was but she tried to steady her breathing and make it seem like  she was already sleeping.
Suddenly the being began to move and [Y/N] closed her eyes and clutched onto Zach tighter afraid that this being would harm Zach. The being shifted and officially left the room and began going down the stairs only to briefly pause, before stepping over a step and continuing his way down.
‘ He knew about the step, he knew the stairs had strange steps! Either he was here for some time inside the house already or he is Jack!’
[Y/N] stayed awake for some time before succumbing into a deep sleep, not before staring into the eyes of a tall-skinned monochrome man resembling that of a clown.
~~
“ Hey Mom, I’m sorry to bug you but will you be gone all week, at night that is?”
“ Yes, but why do you wanna know that sweetie?”
“ Well, let’s just say that Zach really misses you and stuff.”
“ Zach has you right?”
“ Well yeah but having a mother seems better, I’m not saying I don’t like taking care of Zach but it’s just that maybe it would be safer if you got here earlier. What in case someone breaks in or something?”
“ This is a good neighborhood so I doubt that, besides you have the next door neighbors in case of anything so don’t worry. On top of that, why do you ask now? What happened all of the sudden?”
“ Nevermind mom, I get it, you have to work and I’ll just try my hardest okay! Have a safe day today mom!”
“ Okay sweetie, remember get Zach to school and you too okay! Bye! Call me or the neighbors if you need something!”
As [Y/N]’s mom left for work once again in the morning, [Y/N] pondered on the thought that again, like always nothing changed.
~~
“ You have your lunch right?”
“ Yes!!”
“ Okay good boy Zach! Now off we go to school, I’ll pick you up after my school okay?”
“ Okay! Does that mean we can play later after school?”
“ Of course silly!”
“ Hey don’t call me that [Y/N]!”
“ Okay, if you say so, but also if you get good grades! Don’t forget to be nice to ‘ Everyone. . .’.”
“ But I am!”
“ Okay but why did you fight with that kid named Tommy?”
“ He said that the boys had to take care of the girls and that I was a baby because you still took care of me!”
“ Zach. Let me say something.”
[Y/N] crouched down to meet her brothers height as she began to speak.
“ Zach, mom is a girl and she takes care of the both of us! Does that make us babies?”
“ W-well n-no”
“ I am your older sister so I have to take care of the younger people! Does that make you a baby?”
“ No. . .”
“ You’re not a baby Zach. . . in fact I think you’re a strong boy! Who saved me from the pirates? Who saved me defeat the giant in the backyard?”
“ I did!”
“ Exactly, now would a baby be able to do that?”
“ You’re right [Y/N]! Thanks. . . you really are the best sister in the whole world!!”
“ I know I am! Now get to school before we both get in trouble-”
Zach began to run across the field to get to his class as [Y/N] ran to get to her class before her teacher called roll. Upon entering her classroom she was met with her teacher calling roll, luckily, [Y/N] name hadn't been called and she quickly sat down.
“ I feel so bad for her. . .she was telling me how much she liked that kitty she got. On top of that all those spooky things going around her house.”
Feeling intrigued, [Y/N] asked about the so called ‘spooky’ things occuring.
“ Well, Sarah. You know Sarah right? Well, anyways her cat was found last night hanging from the tree, cut open and was spilling some form of candy. It was so gross and Sarah was crying and crying. Her little sister was horrified but Sarah said that all these weird things happened ever since her little sister got a new friend.”
“ A new friend?”
“ Yeah, Sarah thinks it was an imaginary friend at first but then her little sister started appearing with treats and whatnot, just something that an imaginary friend wouldn’t do, but she just assumed that her friend was some neighbors kid or a homeless. Anyway, that’s all I know.”
“ O-o-oh, well if you have Sarah’s number let her know that she has my condolences.”
“ Of course! Oh wait! [Y/N] don’t you have a little brother?”
“ Yes I do.”
“ Has anything strange has been happening so far?”
“ Well not really we both have a vivid imagination so it shouldn’t be much.”
“ I see. . . take care of him okay? If it is someone, make sure to keep him safe. There are a lot of strange closeted freaks around here.”
“ O-oh. . . yea of course! Nothing is going to happen, over my dead body!”
After class was done, [Y/N] took out her phone and began to search for anything occurring matching those descriptions.
‘ What would make a good search that might get me something other than clown giving candy’
[ Y/N] laughed at her search idea but dismissed it as she remembered that this was important and began to continue searching.
‘ Hmmm. . . animals dead cut open spilling candy?’
“ that might work”
Once hitting the go button she was met with grotesque images but nothing of the sort. Sighing she tried maybe searching for a more personal thing.
‘ Black and White imaginary clown’
Some lazy articles were present but one that caught her eye was, “ WOMAN CLAIMS HER SON WAS MUR. . . .”
Without thinking, [Y/N] clicked on the link and was sent to an article talking about a woman who claimed her son was murdered by a monochrome clown. It talked about how the mother had a son named James who told her he had an imaginary friend. However later that day she had a nightmare, of other children in a fair playground. Her son was given candy by his friend but she thought he was lying. Later that day the dog was murdered, cut with candy spilling out. She ran and alerted the neighbors, the cops telling her that it was a robbery, but she swore that everything was locked. The next day she kept her son in, setting a baby monitor to listen for anything strange, but suddenly she claimed her son was killed and nailed onto the wall. She tried to kill the clown except she stabbed her son on accident. She is now in a criminally insane institute and someone keeps playing, “ Pop Goes The Weasel,” outside her room.
“ Well damn, this clown is one fucked up clown.”
[Y/N] put her phone away and began to think. The mother found out and after 3 days her son died. This is strange, if this follows a pattern, this is the second day and something should be dead spilling candy late at night. We don’t have an animal so I don’t think that’s gonna happen, but if he improvises, well damn. She checked her phone and link again to find out the clowns name, “ Laughing Jack.”
‘ Shit. . . it’s the same name as Zach’s friend. . .no doubt about it. This is the same clown we both are dealing with. I swear. . . Zach will not die by his hand!’
~~
“ I’m sorry [Y/N], but he called you a naughty word and I got mad.”
[ Y/N] tried to hold back her laughter when she went to pick up her brother that day. According to the teacher, Zach and Tommy got into a fight because Tommy called out a bitch and you just had to laugh. Yet, it was a cute sight to see your brother defend you. Zach kicked Tommy in a certain place, normally Zach would be in trouble but other kids heard what Tommy said so it outweighed the crime.
“ It’s okay Zach, you tried to help me and that’s all that matters. By the way, did you really kick him there?”
“ Yes, I know you told me never to hit there but I had too!”
“ just between us, good job!”
“ Thank you [Y/N].”
Walking down until they reached their house, [Y/N] told Zach to put away his things before coming downstairs for lunch. As [Y/N] was preparing a meal she began to think of Jack. If Sarah’s sister happened to have the same friend that would explain where Jack was always leaving to. It all started to make sense, but if her cat died yesterday that would mean that Jack would. . . no he wouldn’t. He would need also need to kill an animal and give it to us, but what if he works differently and there is no pattern? I mean she was the only witness I remember even being on the web.
“ [Y/N]! What are we eating?”
‘ I mustn’t think like that, Sarah will be safe, her sister will be safe. Everything will be fine. . .’
“ Anything you want Zach. . .”
~~
Setting in a nice room and sleeping, what could go wrong. A loud clunk was heard, waking the siblings with a jolt. This scared Zach, but for [Y/N] she was both scared and glad. If It was jack then luckily Sarah’s sister was safe, but if it wasn’t Jack that would mean that it was a robber and that Jack was going after Sarah’s sister.
“ [Y/N]. . . what was that? I-is m-m-mom back?”
“ Stay here Zach!”
[Y/N] was walking in silence, avoided the step that made noise, and walked down only to hear Zach come down the steps and whisper, “ [Y/N] the bear dad got you is gone!”
‘ An animal. . .”
[Y/N] sprinted down and ran the steps to see her teddy bear, the giant one her dad got her for her birthday before he left hanging from the ceiling fan, with candy spilling out. Relief washed over her as she realized that Sarah’s sister would be okay if it weren’t for Zach screaming, alerting his sister to his side. [Y/N]’s eyes widened at the sight, a red liquid. . . ‘ Blood?’ except followed by the blood were a pair of eyes, blue eyes like those of Sarah, small baby teeth, and a tongue. [Y/N] wasted no time and grabbed her brother and ran to the neighbors calling their mother and the police.
No doubt about it, the police said the same thing. It was probably a robber, but they warned their mother that she shouldn’t leave her children like that alone ever again or CPS would be involved. Their mother thanked them and apologized to the officers along with the neighbors for staying awake and taking care of the children. The police went inside the home to recover the bear and the organs, explaining how they might be connected to a murder that happened recently, right across the street from them, two blocks down. At the sound of this, [Y/N] panicked and asked if the victim was a little girl, blue eyes, light brown hair, an older sister, etc. The officers were surprised and suspicious of [Y/N] for knowing a lot of info and began to question the girl.
“ How do you know that?”
“ I heard about some strange things occurring at her house, you see she is one of my classmates and I'm worried! Was it her?”
“ Y-yes it was, but the conclusion we came to would be that the person who did it probably tried to scare you too and they snuck in to display what you saw in your house. You will be questioned later but be safe. Parts of the crime scene were found in your home, either you’re the next or its someone who gets a kick out of these displays.”
“ Thank you officer and of course, you will be informed if anything changes!” [Y/N]’s mother apologized and thanked them once more. The house was secure and they could return, the only shocking thing was that Zach was speaking to Jack again. Zach was a little uncomfortable that jack arrived a little later after all this happened and that he was laughing. Zach just kept asking Jack where he was and if he was okay.
[Y/N]’s mother was a little confused but rushed her children inside the house. [Y/N] walked over to her mom and they began to talk, mostly about the incident.
“ Mom, hey. . . I think it’s best if me and Zach stay home. . .”
“ I want you to go to school, it’s safer.”
“ If someone did some inside the house to scare us, let’s say we are next. That means that they might stalk us and if we go to school, which means that will find out where we are will only lead to more danger.”
“ If you stay home where he might come back you’ll be in more danger, [Y/N] listen to me, it’s not that hard to listen to your mother is it?”
“ Why can’t you take the day off and take care of us? You always come home late, ever think that maybe we are more in danger because of that?”
“ No need to raise your voice nor get sassy! As your mother I am doing the best I can for you guys but if you want to complain then complain to someone else because I am sure we are all shaken up after these events-”
“ If you were around the house more you would know! Ask your boss, I am sure she will be okay with you staying home or coming home back earlier-”
“ I bring food to this table, to this home by working more hours! If you had a job then maybe you would understand how difficult it is-”
“ I do have a job and that’s being the mom you FAILED TO BE!”
‘ slap’
“ I DON’T EVER WANT YOU TO TALK BACK TO ME YOU HEAR!”
Zach came down the stairs and ran to [Y/N]’s side in fear for her. Their mother sighed and told Zach to go back upstairs to sleep, but Zach refused. [Y/N] laughed a little before grabbing Zach and saying, “ No wonder Dad wanted full custody of us. . .”
“ W-WHAT THE HELL DID YOU SAY?”
“ I said what I had to say! Dad saw that you could never be a good mom and look, I am that proof! Who is playing house now?”
[Y/N] tucked in Zach before giving him a kiss on the cheek and saying good night. She walked back to her room, before Zach said something to [Y/N] that made her smile. “ Y/N, b-be safe, I love you and Jack wants me to tell you, good job for standing up to her.”
“ Thank you Zach and Jack, thanks for that.”
~~
Another day, and Sarah didn’t come to school so nobody heard the details about last night. [Y/N] has only tonight, because if everything so far has been based on the pattern, Jack was going to kill Zach tonight and [Y/N] wasn’t going to let that happen. She thought of some ways that she could outsmart Jack.
‘ Jack can teleport because all the doors were locked and he killed Sarah’s sister yesterday and did his whole charade thingy. Anyways, if that’s the case then he can’t know where Zach is but he hangs with him all the time and if I tell Zach to run Jack will only get to him faster, Jack could also kill me too. . .My only choice is to confront him. .’
Once having her resolve, [Y/N] left school a little earlier than usual, her mother would be getting a call so no doubt about it she will find out, but in the end she would thank [Y/N] for saving Zach. Except that never happened. It was late at night and [Y/N]’s mother wasn’t going to come home and just stay late working. [Y/N] had a plan to confront him, simply put they were going to have another sibling sleepover, if Jack only killed children he would have to take Zach away from her giving her enough time to bolt with Zach or to tell him to go over the neighbors and leave her with Jack.
“ Zach, mom is going to be late again so come and sleepover in my room. I don’t have the bear anymore but still, I can be the next teddy bear.”
“ Okay [Y/N]!”
Zach was safely tucked in the bed and was snoring peacefully, [Y/N] pretended to be asleep and heard a soft shuffle, only for a voice to speak.
“ You’re not asleep.”
[Y/N] opened her eyes, bridal style carried Zach and ran. She had to make it downstairs and at the very least make him go with the neighbors. Zach awoke within the ruckus and was confused when [Y/N] told him to run to the neighbors when she opened the door. Jack apeared right in front of them halfway down the stairs, only for [Y/N] to jump over the railing and continue to the door.
“ ZACH NOW!”
Zach ran and kept ringing the bell until the neighbors opened, Zach was safe! [Y/N] turned around to meet with Jack, she sighed before she told him that he would never get Zach.
“ Thank’s for the compliment but I’m not going to let you hurt Zach.”
“ Out of all the children I’ve killed, every home I visited, you are the only one who paid attention, cared even, if only the others were like you.”
“ Thanks, but like I said I don’t intend to let Zach die here!”
“ You aren’t stupid, you know that I could easily kill him, but I admire that side of you. If only Issac was like that, shame really. I came for life and a life I shall have, so tell me, wanna strike a deal?”
~~
“ Please help my sister!! She is trapped with someone scary!!”
“ Of course! Let’s call the police!”
By the time the police were called onto the scene, [Y/N] was long gone. [Y/N]’s mother was arrested for child negligence and for not administering parental supervision such as a babysitter or a relative coming over. Zach was forced to live in an orphanage but his neighbors gladly took him in, unknown to the rest they were trying to have a child for so long but haven’t been able to, Zach didn’t mind. Except, he wanted his sister [Y/N].
Christmas rolled around and Zach was opening the gifts his new parents got him, except one was wrapped nicely in decorative paper. Zach’s parents weren’t sure who got it, but it was for Zach. It was a big bear, one like [Y/N] had. Zach cried a little at the memory before smiling, his sister was alive, he knew this, but where was she. She was right outside watching him smile, [Y/N] smiled at the sight before an all too familiar clown arrived to pick her up. He grabbed her hand, feeling nothing from him,  [Y/N] thought back to that night, the night he claimed her as his, mentally. Whether it is for comfort or for something else, Jack was glad to have someone like [Y/N] with him, someone to care for him. He looked down at the girl as he ruffled her hair before leaning forward.
His hand got closer and closer to her cheek before he touched it.
Can’t Get Enough Part 5
Billie has lost her virginity! Where is this relationship headed?
This has just been chilling in drafts... I forgot I was a person there for a moment. I apologize.
Summary: The two most stubborn people in Knockemstiff, Ohio have eyes for only each other. Lee Bodecker is determined to become the town’s next sheriff. He knows that image is everything. Billie Dechswaan doesn’t care about her image at all. All she wants is to leave Knockemstiff and never come back. But Lee has other plans for her. Both are far too stubborn to give up their own plans. What happens when they can’t get enough of each other?
Word Count: 2.3k
After losing her virginity, Billie can’t get enough of Lee. When he’s inside her, she promises him all the things he wants. But they fight about her wanting leave. She’s still adamant about moving away, despite her attack. Lee tries desperately to reason with her. But she won’t hear it. Lee feels his time running out as the days in June and July come and go. He makes the decision for them one day. He pokes holes in every single condom. He feels slightly guilty, but Bille needs to realizes how much she needs him.
All the arguing comes to a head one night in mid-August. Billie snuck out like she did most nights and met up with Lee. She quickly slide into the car and kissed him. It was a Wednesday night and they hadn’t seen each other since the church service on Sunday. Billie had spent most of the time between services chatting with Lee, instead of helping to serve luncheon, and this behavior was not missed by the church ladies.
Rumors were flying. Everyone was wondering when Lee would finally make Billie his wife. Many were saying that it was bound to happen before the next election. She’d be sherif’s wife by Christmas, the gossip said. Edna, the police station secretary made the mistake of asking Lee and relaying all the gossip. It got him thinking. He was going to broach the idea with Billie. He had to. He already had a ring anyway.
Before Lee could even start the car and drive away. Billie was kissing his neck.
“Did you miss me, baby?” He teased. Pulling her closer to him.
“I always miss you,” she scoffed, straddling his hips.
“I missed you too,” he murmured against her lips. She ran her tongue against his.
“You know,” he began, pulling back from the kiss, “You don’t have to miss me.”
“What do you mean?” Billie giggled, staring at him, “I always miss you when you’re not around.”
“I mean, you could miss me less,” Lee said. Billie’s smile dropped a bit.
“What are talking about, honey?” She asked.
“If we live together, we would see each other everyday. Wake up together, go to bed together,” he hummed, kissing her neck between each phrase.
“Lee,” she scolded, pulling away from him.
“Come on baby,” he huffed, “Be mine. Be mine forever. And don’t give me that whole song and dance about leaving. You want to be with me and I want to be with you. I could give you everything. Just let me.”
“We’ve talked about this, I want to be independent for a while,” Billie grumbled.
“Billie, come on. We’ve been together practically everyday for months. Why do you have to independent? You want to get married and have kids right?” He asked.
“Of course, I do. But—“
“No. No buts. If you’re planning to have kids, you won’t be working that long anyway. So, pick the right man to have kids with. Pick me, baby,” Lee implored. Billie stared at him and slipped off his lap.
“I was up front with you Lee. I told you I was going to leave and go to college. You knew that going in. I should go,” she whispered. Climbing out of the car. Lee ground his teeth before he got out of the car.
“Billie,” he yelled, “get back here.” He stalked after her angrily.
“Lee,” she sighed, turning to face him, “I can’t do this tonight. I can’t have this argument again.”
He gripped the tops of her arms, “What is it? Why won’t you marry me? Is there something I’m not doing? Are you embarrassed of me?”
“What?” She spat, “Of course not. You’re everything I want—“
“Then what is it? I love you, dammit,” he shouted.
“Look, let’s just take a pause. We can talk tomorrow. We’re both upset,” she placated.
“Fine,” he huffed, stalking back to his car and driving off before Billie had even reached the woods. Wheels spitting gravel, engine revving loudly as he drove away. Billie felt empty. What had she done?
The next day the county fair started. It was the event of the summer. Everyone was there. And Billie was avoiding Lee after their fight the day before. But he spots her. She evades him all night. He finally corners her outside one of the livestock barns.
“What is with you? You said we’d talk today and you’re fucking ignoring me,” He spat, shoving her against the barn and caging her in. Billie refuses to meet his gaze. Tears quickly well up and spill down her cheeks.
“Baby,” he hums gently, “What’s wrong.” His hands move up to cup her face and his thumbs wipe the tears away.
“Not here,” she shakes her head, “Let’s go for a drive.”
“Alright,” Lee murmured. They walk silently to the cruiser and Lee drove a couple of miles down the road before he pulls off onto a side road. It’s not really a road, more like a trail in the woods that farmers use in the spring and summer as a short cut.
Billie has tears running down her face.
“Talk to me,” he begged.
“I’m late,” she sobbed. It took Lee a few moments to catch on.
“Your period?”
“Yeah, I’m three weeks late. I thought it was just stress or something,” she cried, her voice breaking.
“It’s okay. It’s okay,” he soothed, “I’ll take care of ya.” Lee’s heart is beating out of his chest with excitement, but he schools his features and voice to one of concern and anxiousness in order not to tip Billie off.
“What are we gonna do?” She’s fully panicked now. Lee can hear that she’s nearly hyperventilating.
“Shh, baby. You need to breathe, okay?” He said as he grabbed her face and forced her to look at him. She nodded slowly, breathing in and out steadily before Lee spoke again.
“We have to tell your parents,” he began. Billie’s eyes grew comically large, she started to protest but Lee cut her off.
“We’ll tell your parents. We’ll get married and no one will be the wiser. It’s okay,” he soothed, “I’ll be with you when you tell your parents. I promise I’ll take care of you.” His eyes shone with sincerity.
“What… what if I’m not ready?”
“You are. You’re perfect. Gonna take such good care of me and our baby,” Lee hummed as he kissed her.
“Lee,” she protested.
“Come on, sugar. You’ll be my good little housewife. I can’t wait to see you get round with my baby. You’re gonna look so sexy,” Lee groaned, he kissed from her lips to her neck as he spoke, “You’re all mine.”
“Did you— did you plan this?” Billie asked, shoving him away. Lee narrowed his eyes at her.
“It doesn’t matter how it happened. What’s done is done and you need me Billie,” he growled. Billie opened her mouth but no words came out. She was stunned. She shook her head back and forth, as she searched for the words.
“You’re a bastard, Lee.” His jaw clicked from side to side when she said that. Without saying anything he started the car and drove. Billie didn’t question him on where they’re going. She knew she was in deep shit. It’s only when she sees the farmhouse come into view that she starts to panic.
“No.”
“We’re telling your parents tonight.”
“Lee, please don’t do this,” she begged. But he didn’t listen.
“I wanted to be nice. I wanted to wait until after we got married. But you. You just couldn’t accept the nice future I had planned out for ya. So, if you want me to be the bastard, I will be. I’ll get you pregnant. Make you marry me.” He cut the engine and walked up to the house. Billie trudged behind him, she had no other choice.
Lee knocked at the before Billie even reached him. Joy answered.
“Deputy Bodecker,” she smiled, “To what do we owe the pleasure?”
“Billie and I have something to tell you,” he said happily. What a master of disguise he was. He made Billie believe, really believe that he loved her and cared for her. But he showed his true colors the second she stopped listening to him. And now he’s wooing her mother. Making her believe he’s a nice, stand-up guy. Joy’s smile faltered when she realized the Billie was with Lee, but she let them both in all the same. Lee marched to the living room as if he owned the place.
“John,” Joy called, “Lee and Billie want to talk to us.” John huffed, but turned the tv off. He gestured for Lee to sit.
“Clara, why don’t you go upstairs,” Joy suggested. Clara was the only one of the children home. All the others were still at the fair. She nodded and walked away. Joy sat down, but Billie didn’t.
“Honey,” Lee chuckled, “Come sit down.” She slowly went and sat by Lee. He was quick to wrap an arm around her.
“She’s nervous,” he said, smile glued to his handsome face.
“What’s going on?” John growled at Lee.
“Billie is pregnant,” Lee responded. Joy gasped. John looked like a deer caught in headlights. Billie started crying again, and leaned forward to hide her face in her hands. Lee patted her back.
“But, I don’t want ya’ll to worry,” Lee continued, “I’ll do right by her. I care for your daughter very much. We’re going to get married.”
John harrumphed, “You can take her down to the courthouse tomorrow for all I care. I thought you knew better than to open your legs, girl. I know you’re mama taught you better than that.”
“John,” Joy attempted to placate, “Let’s not be unkind. Lee is going to make this right.”
“I don’t care if he can make it right. Your daughter is out there acting like a whore,” John roared standing up from his armchair. He crossed the room and slapped Billie across the face.
“You have one week to get her out of my house,” John said to Lee, who looked up John and scowled. Billie couldn’t take one more minute, she jumped up and ran upstairs just as Sylvia walked through the door. If Sylvia was one thing, it was perceptive. She took one look at her father and Lee and chased after her sister.
“Now get out of my house, Bodecker,” Lee narrowed his eyes, but obliged. He would make John pay for hitting Billie.
Sylvia found Billie crying in a little ball on the floor.
“What happened?” She asked her sister.
“Lee g-got me pregnant and n-now I have to get married and I’m going to be stuck here in this stupid town forever,” Billie sobbed.
“Shit,” Sylvia sighed. Clara crawled off of her bed to join her sisters on the floor, she squeezed Billie’s hand. She wasn’t one for talking, she wasn’t good at it.
“I thought he loved me. But he manipulated me. I think he did it on purpose,” Billie choked through tears.
Sylvia stood up and started pacing.
“How much money you got?” She asked.
“About $250,” Billie answered.
“I got about $50 left over from babysitting. And I want you to take that,” Sylvia ordered.
“I can’t take your money, Sylvie.”
“Yes you can. Take it. Run away. Start over.”
“I—I—I h—have t-t-ten dollars for you, Billie,” Clara spoke.
“Take our money and go,” Sylvia said, “Consider it a thank you for all the years you took care of us.”
“Are you sure?” Billie looked between her two sisters. Both nodded.
“You have to go tonight. Go to the bus station and get out now,” Sylvia started to scheme. The girls helped Billie pack two bags that night. They rounded up and pooled their money. And at eleven that night, Billie snuck out and walked the three miles to the bus station. She waited until five in the morning and bought the first bus out to Cincinnati. But she didn’t stop there. From there she took another bus to New York. She figured she could disappear into the crowd there. She could say that her husband died and that she had no family left. She could get a job waitressing. Or maybe she could train as a secretary. It didn’t matter because she felt free.
After two weeks in the city, she wrote her family and Lee a letter. She claimed that she wasn’t pregnant. That the stress from telling them and leaving town caused her to miscarry. She said that she couldn’t face any of them now. But that it didn’t diminish her love. She refused to come home. Billie did not include a return of address. She secretly sent Sylvia another letter at her boyfriends house. It included her phone number. Sylvia would call her once a month from a payphone and then from the phone at the local grocery store she worked at. The girls stayed in touch that way. Sylvia secretly relayed the information to Clara and when Joy got suspicious, to her too.
Lee was distraught. He’d lost the love of his life and his baby in a matter of moments. He shouldn’t have made her tell her parents like that. But he couldn’t focus on it too long, because he was soon elected sheriff. He was married to the job. Then he started getting into business with the wrong people. Those terrible men he worked with gave him an idea. An awful idea. He wanted revenge against John and he would get it.
"ohh my fucking god" Benny sighed as he came into the flat "You two better not have had sex in here again!"
Harry instantly took like four from Beth and started nipping at them "Ummm these are delicious" He smiled "and you girls look beautiful" he smiled giving us each a kiss and beth a cuddle
"You do girls, you two should dress up like this everyday" Benny smiled giving me a cuddle too kissing my cheek  "Those cookies really are good, and I am super fucking hungry" he says having another I happily took some getting my dress back as I was starting to feel the chill,
a while later darkness crept across new york the windows of benny's apartment dark, the few little lights flickering as they often did, the record player spinning slowly and quietly a little tune,  harry laid with a pillow on his head, Beth sat on the leather chair playing with a chess piece in her hands, Benny sat leant against the wall to his bedroom sat with the window just above his head, I laid my head on his shoulder and nuzzled his arm the most sober of anyone as I had only had two cookies.
"Y/n?"
"Yes benny?"
"are my hands moving?"
"....No there not sweetie" I giggled as he was sat completetly still
"Oooohh.... I thought they where" He says "Are they moving now?"
"No"
".... Ooohh nooo" He says "I'M DEAD!" he yelped
"No no benny-" I tried to reassure him "I'm dead! no not again! Why do I keep dieing! I don't pick it on purpose everything I like they kill me! I don't wanna die again! I like being alive!" He whines "I don't wanna die anymore!" He cried
"Awww it's okay benny, you're not going to die anymore, it's okay" I smiled giving him a cuddle as he cried
"You've not died before benny it's okay" "I always die! I die in everything!"
"Benny how many cookies have you had?" "six"
"Ohh no" "this is literally like the first time I haven't died"
"I feel like... at some point... I was fat. and there was magic afoot" Harry says
"Yeah I was dead, and he was around the magic man" Benny explained
"I think... I killed someone" Beth mutters "Y/n? did I kill someone?"
"No beth you have not killed someone"
"But I remember it. there was a goat involved"
"Yeah! I remember that Beth, you had a goat and blood everywhere!" harry explained
"what- what are you guys talking about?" I asked
"Y/n?"
"Yes benny?"
"Now are my hands moving?"
"No there not sweetheart" I told him
".... oooohh... are my wings moving?"
"why- why do- you don't have wings benny"
"But I'm a dragon."
"Benny, your not a dragon, your a people" I told him
"No!" He whines "Dragon, I have big wings, and I'm blue and I give fire kisses" He smiled hugging me tightly and kissing all over me
"Benny- your not a dragon. harry help me out here!"
"No no he's a dragon. I saw it. he was a good dragon" harry explained
"I wanna be... a like 18th century lady... with huge boobs"
"I saw that, you looked good" Harry told her "good nightie... gave me a bonner"
"Okay, I think it's bed time" I sighed getting up picking benny up and throwing him on my shoulder
"wait! hold up! you can lift benny?" beth asked
"He's not heavy" I laughed "Mother fucker has a BMI of Two, Maybe. when soaking wet" I laughed bouncing him on my hip like a baby "He's not heavy"
".... I Love you y/n but I highly protest to being carted around like an infant"
"I wanna be carted around like an infant" harry says rising his hand
"Nooooo my y/n" Benny whines hugging me tightly nuzzling into my hair "My y/n"
"Okay you're going to bed before you eat any more cookies and really start being a problem" I sighed
"Maybe I two scoops was too much per cookie" Beth says
"Too much of what?" benny asks making me put him down before it clicked "Ohh my fucking god. Elizabeth harmon, you better not have smoked weed in my fucking house!"
"we didn't smoke it" Beth shrugs "we baked it into the cookies"
"Weed cookies?" harry asked curiously
"No, no, no You guys my land lord is going to kill me!" he complained "He explicitly said no drug taking. he mentioned it like sixteen times"
"that seems excessive" I laughed
"he has a lot of weird rules.... how many have I had?"
"six"
"So thats?" he asks
"Two scoops per cookie, so... benny has had Twelve scoops" she explained "How big where the scoops?" I asked her as she was the one who put them in
"about a cup" she shrugs
"I have consumed twelve cups of weed!" He yelped "... I'm gonna die" "You won't die I've done more then that" she says
"I've never done drugs before beth!"
"...how did it take you this long to realize you where high?" Harry asks
"I was seeing though dimensions"
"where you where a dragon for some reason"
"There was a dragon ,and it talked like me okay" he explained "so every time I've got hungry I have another cookie and the weed makes me more hungry so I have more cookies, I ate six weed cookies..."" "How many have you had harry?" I asked
"Nine" He answered
".... so eighteen scoops" I laughed
"Ooooohhhh... thats why I keep thinking one of you is giving me a blow job, but then ins't" "How many have you had beth?" I asked
".....five, but I have a higher tolerance" "I've had two, so I'm fine" I laughed "I think we should just sit, and wait it out" I explain as we all got cosy close to each other
"Hey? Beth?" Harry whispered "you wanna know a secret?"
"Yeah" she giggled
".... I masturbated to you. Not long after we met"
"You wanna know a secret?" she asks "I met up with the chess club I first plaid against when I was a kid... and I fucked each of them"
"ooohh" I giggled "you wanna know a secret?"
"Yeah" they all giggled
"I got called a dragon once"
"why?" Benny asks
"I liked to start fires, when I was little" I smiled
"why?" harry asks
"It was fun"
"Is that why you got a dragon tattooed on you?" Beth asks
"Ummm" I nodded "I wanted to take that word away from people who hurt me, made it my word. set all those fuckers on fire"
"why did you like fire?" harry asks
"Fire's cool. its warm, its pretty, destroys evidence. I don't know I like it" I smiled
"I didn't kn? ow you had a dragon tattoo" Benny says
"... how many times have we had sex? How many times have you seen me naked?
"... I wasn't aware I needed to keep track" "Damn we should! could get like reward cards every tenth sex gets a blow job or something" Beth giggled
"I like that, but not right now" I laughed
"How have you never noticed my tattoo benny?"
"I'm not usually paying attention to your arm and shoulder... of all the places when your naked it's not an area I tend to look at"
"why not?"
"Because boobs, and pussy! would would I be looking at arms?" he complained trying to eat another cookie but I stopped him,
"I need a nap" Beth says moving to lay on harry the two falling asleep almost instantly
"Do you have a secret benny?" I asked
"I do" He nods nuzzling on my shoulder "I love you"
"You've said benny" I smiled petting his hair
"No, I do... I really love you, I was a little disappointed when Beth turned up to. I kinda wanted us to be alone, so we could go on a nice date, play chess together, make love in my bed" He smirked between kisses up my neck "I love you sugar"
"Awww Benny, I love you too" I smiled giving him a cuddle "You won't remember a word of this tomorrow you get some rest okay, we'll talk about it soon"
Flirty (Lin Beifong x Reader) Part 4
a/n: episode 6 but Lin gets the love and comfort she deserves. also lin’s room has a balcony bc i say so :))).
Tumblr media
The pounding in your head felt like someone was driving a drill through it relentlessly. You groaned, eyes slowly opening. The light made your head burn and the migraine you had worse. “She’s awake!” The voice was muddled and faded. “Bolin! Grab the water!” Squinting, the blurred forms in front of you finally cleared. Team avatar stood at the end your bed. Your parakeets were going wild in their cages. Their wings flapped rapidly as their shrill screeching sliced into your brain. “Azure! Ruby,” you croaked, glaring at the parakeets. “Quiet!” Their cries died down but they still hooted softly. “H-here,” Bolin sputtered, handing you a glass of water.
You almost kissed him right then and there. The water was cold as you gulped it down. Your throat was still parched but it didn’t feel like you were dying anymore. “What happened,” you grumbled, rubbing your head. Your fingertips touched a bandage at your temple. The slight sting made your teeth grit together and a softly hiss as the sting worsened. Korra looked apologetic. “You passed out during Lin and Suyin’s fight. Or after.” Lin. Your eyes darted around the room, but there was no sign of her. “Where is she,” you asked, shooting up from your bed. You wiggled out of the sheets and stood on your feet. The world around you felt dizzy. “Woah woah woah,” they all said, reaching out to you. Korra grabbed your arm gently to keep you from falling on your face. “You still need rest!” You waved them off, slowly regaining your balance. Korra let go of you and watched you grab your boots from the floor. “’m fine,” you muttered as you balanced on one foot to slid on your combat boots.
The room around you shifted slightly. You brushed it off as you finished putting on your boots. You needed to find Lin. Finding her was your priority right now. “How long have I been out for,” you asked, swinging your bag over your shoulder. “T-ten hours,” Korra stammered. Team avatar watched you, unsure of what to do. “Wait!” Bolin exclaimed, as you were opening the bird cage. The parakeets settled onto your shoulder. Azure chirped at Asami and Ruby watched the group cautiously. She seemed cranky and pecked at your shoulder softly. You couldn’t blame her; you’d be upset too if someone disturbed your master’s peace. “What is it now? I’m going and you can’t stop me.” “I don’t think we could even if we tried,” Mako muttered. You shot him a glare and he raised his hands up in defense.  “I wanted to ask you something,” Bolin continued, “How did you do that thing?” He pressed his fingers down on his palms.
Your brows furrowed in confusion. Bolin kept repeating the move and making a bubble move with his hands. The lightbulb in your brain dinged. “It’s a force field. Something I invented,” you answered quickly, stumbling your way to your door. “I really don’t think you should be leaving,” Korra called out as you were halfway through the door. “Well,” Mako grumbled, “We tried.”
****
It was silent. Your ear started to ache from pressing it up harshly against the door. “Probably resting,” you sighed. She pushed herself too hard. Your chest tightened from the memories of the fight. She could barely hold herself up from Suyin’s attacks but still pressed on. Suyin. Your lips pulled up into a sneer. Why would she use your actions against Lin? Why would she fight her sister? Lin was weak enough as it is. “She did start it,” you muttered, “but Lin must’ve had a reason.”
“Whatcha doing?” You jumped ten feet into the air. Azure and Ruby squwaked in protest. You swear your soul left your body from Opal sneaking up behind you. “Sorry,” she giggled, “I didn’t mean to scare you so bad.” You rolled your eyes, “Didn’t scare me.” The smile on your face told Opal you weren’t actually annoyed. Her eyes followed yours, staring a hole into Lin’s door. “Are you trying to visit Aunt Lin?”
You nodded, “Yea, but I’ve knocked and no answer. Door ‘s locked too.” “She’s probably still asleep then,” Opal answered. Or doesn’t want to be disturbed. “Really? Fight must’ve taken her out bad.” She didn’t say anything but traveled her eyes to the brightly coloured birds on your shoulder.  Her brows furrowed as she watched Ruby preen at her feathers. “She seems to...like you.” You tilted your head, “What do you mean?” Opal shrugged, green eyes flickering from Ruby to the pavement under her. She followed the cracks and patterns in the cement, seeming to trace them with her eyes. Her voice sounded lost and... sad. “She..seems to enjoy your company more...than anyone else’s. She seems...happier.”
The memory of Opal running out of Lin’s door and crying last flashed in your brain. “Oh Opal,” you sighed, putting a comforting hand on her shoulder. There were tears in her eyes. Her eyes remained at the ground. “Look at me,” you commanded softly. Opal’s emerald green eyes snapped up to yours. They shimmered with tears and her eyes were a bit red. Squeezing her shoulder for comfort you said, “Lin is...complicated. Trust me I dated her.” You let out a sad chuckle. Your eyes wandered to her door again but you were really focusing on the memories of the past. It was all you were good for now. Being filled with regret and never being able to forgive yourself for what you had done. “It doesn’t excuse her actions though,” you reassured her softly, “You did nothing wrong. You’re a sweet girl Opal.”
“Thank you,” She murmured. You smiled, but it didn’t seem to reach your eyes. You pat her shoulder gently before dropping it to your side. “Can I ask you something?” You nodded. “Do you know what happened? Between her and my mother?” Your eyes glanced at Lin’s door again. The dark wood felt ominous and sad as you kept staring at it. “No..I don’t. I’ve been asking myself that ever since I’ve got here. But I know something bad happened.” Silence stretched between the two of you. Opal watched you stare into Lin’s door with yearning.
“It hurts you doesn’t it,” Opal asked quietly. “Seeing the two of them tear each other apart. Her be angry with you and pushing you away.” “Bright girl,” you chuckled bitterly. “I can see it y’know,” she said quietly, “I can see the pain and the hurt haunting her as well.”
You didn’t reply; there was no need to. The both of you stood in silence on the front steps to Lin’s room, waiting.
*****
The flute’s notes carried a merry melody. It was one of your favorites, something you used to hum to your brother after he had another nightmare. Lin had been asleep for about sixteen hours. The cement steps dug into your ass as you waited like a dog hoping its master would come home soon. The sun’s rays kissed your skin as you sat there, playing your flute. Azure and Ruby fluttered about, chasing each other on the ground in front of you. You chuckled watching them tweet and fly around each other. It made you think of Bo and Bao. You smiled sadly at the thought of them. The two of them were incredible birds. They were the only family you had after being alone for so many years.
“Is she still asleep?” You looked away from Ruby And Azure, meeting Korra’s eyes. You shrugged in reply, carrying on with your flute playing. You’ll always be a bitter and lonely old woman. Your teeth gritted as her words rung in your head. She still needed to apologize. Mako and Bolin talked amongst themselves.  Weird, you thought, where’s Asami? They paid you no mind as they argued about who should poke the sleeping bear.
“You should do it you’re the avatar!” You stifled a laugh. Korra grumbled,“Fine fine, I’ll do it.” She huffed, swinging her feet over the brick steps. Her fist begrudgingly knocked on the grumpy bear’s door. “Lin? You okay? You’ve been asleep for sixteen hours now.” No answer. Korra sighed defeated. She walked down the steps about to leave. The sound of the door opening made the four of you perk up. Oh my fucking god, you thought.
Lin stood in her doorway, green earth bender robes adorning her. The silver necklace around her neck glimmered in the sun. Gold is more her colour, you couldn’t help but think as the the avatar and her friends gawked. It was unusual seeing her without her armor but damn did she look good. There was a smile on her face as she bid them a good morning. Team avatar’s eyes bulged out of their skulls. “G-good morning,” the three of them sputtered.
Lin’s eyes wandered over to you. You sent her a quick wave. “Those robes look great on you Beifong.” She snorted, but there was a soft smile on her face. Her eyes wandered to the bandages on your temple. Your nose was still a bit swollen but it seemed to have gone down overtime. The sight made her smile falter and eyes flickering with guilt. You sent Lin a reassuring smile. There wasn’t any anger in your heart. You couldn’t bring yourself to be upset with her. You could never be upset with the woman you loved.
Lin’s posture seemed to relax more but the guilt still laid underneath her eyes, rumbling like a beast. Lin bowed her head and left.
****
“I’m sorry Lin. For everything. I was a crazy kid back then, I admit that.” Lin didn’t say anything. Her sister stared at her expectantly but kept her mouth shut. Suyin had tore their relationship apart. Her mother quit because she couldn’t take the shame of having a criminal as a daughter. Because of her, Lin had a scar she had to look at everyday in the mirror. For thirty years, Lin couldn’t let it go. The idea of letting go of the anger and pain she had been so accustomed to was terrifying. How could she let that all go? The anger she left after all these years was the only thing that warmed her.  It comforted her as time moved on. If she let go, there’d be nothing left.
Lin and Suyin stared at the metal sculpture in front of them.  “Thank you,” she spoke after a while. Suyin turned her gaze to her sister. “I accept your apology.”
She smiled, a genuine smile. “We need a new dance coach. How about you stay here Lin? We can be a family again.” Lin snorted, “I think I can start not destroying your grounds for now.” Suyin laughed, “Deal.” The two of them talked for a bit. While Suyin carried on about nothing Lin couldn’t help but feel that she had made the wrong decision.
****
“How did you do that?” “Hm?” You and Bolin sat on a bench together in one of Su’s courtyards. You didn’t want to risk aggravating the already grumpy bear by waiting outside Lin’s door all day. “The shield! Whatever that was.” You laughed at the childlike enthusiasm Bolin expressed. It was adorable and sweet. His excitement made you feel young and free again. Bolin reminded you of Bumi and Dee. “It’s a force field. I made it,” you stated proudly. “How did you make it?!” You laughed, “There’s a lot that goes into it. Metal, energy, and some other stuff.” Bolin tilted his head and asked, “I thought you weren’t a bender. Aren’t you just an architect?” “Sadly, I’m not a bender. But I am an architect, you were right about that. I’m also an inventor.”
“A damn good one at that.” The two of you looked up at the intrusion. Lin stood there with her arms crossed, peering at the two of you. After apologizing to Opal she went back to her place to talk to you. However, you were gone. She wandered around until she heard your voice. Lin flickered between the two of you. She swallowed the jealousy the striked through her. Bolin gulped nervously at Lin’s light glare. He glanced towards you. You didn’t even seem fazed at the death stare Lin was sending. “I’m..just gonna go,” he said awkwardly, “Opal and I have plans.” “Sounds great,” you smiled, sending him a wave. “I’d be happy to show you the shield later.” He smiled nervously and murmured something about finding you tomorrow.
Once Bolin left Lin turned to you. “Busy?” “Not anymore” you snorted, “Someone got jealous and scared Bolin away.” Lin’s teeth gritted together and her jaw tightened. “I’m not jealous,” she grumbled, eyes narrowing to slits. You raised a brow and crossed your arms. “Glaring at someone hard enough to burn a hole through their head? Yea, that seems normal.” “Just forget it,” Lin grunted, turning to walk away. “I’m just teasing,” you called out, jumping up from the bench. “What did you have in mind?” Lin stopped and turned to you. “Whiskey.” You grinned, “You sure know a way to a person’s heart Lin!” She snorted. “Are you coming or not?” “Yea,” you chirped, “I gotta get a couple things from my room real quick. Meet you at yours in ten?” Lin nodded. “Great!” She watched you leave, chuckling at the hop in your step. Azure and Ruby flew around you, chirping. Lin smiled softly at the excitement in your pace and the happy aura that surrounded you.
****
The whiskey went down smoothly. Lin had always been a fan of it from the burn that welcomed her. Silence stretched between the two of you. Her stomach prickled at the nerves in her veins. Apologies were hard for Lin but if she didn’t apologize she’d be just as bad as Suyin. You fiddled your glass in your hands, cradling it on the railing. Azure and Ruby flittered about on the metal. Their brightly coloured feathers contrasted with the back metal railing.
“Yknow,” you said, breaking the silence, “I didn’t think this city would be so pretty.” Lin arched a brow, setting her empty glass on a side table near her. “What? The metal?” She gestured to the metal shield that protected the area around the two of you. You snorted, “Yea definitely. Just look at the bolts. They look so strong. Would be great for a project I’m planning.” Lin chuckled. She wouldn’t admit it, but she missed this. The late nights when the two of you chatted about nothing and everything. The dry jokes the two of you shared as you embraced each other in bed. It tugged at her heart in such a way where she didn’t know what to feel. Sad?Angry? Happy? Lin guessed it was all of them.
Her eyes fell to the white bandage that faced her. It covered your right temple and barely rested above your cheekbone. The shame flashed hotly in her chest. The guilt felt heavy and..gross. Lin’s apology she had practiced on the way here died on her tongue. She couldn’t utter the words she repeated in her head. Maybe she was just as bad as Suyin.
“It doesn’t hurt that much,” you muttered softly into the air. Lin’s heavy gaze made your neck prickle. You knew she felt awful. Her strong eyes always seemed to waver whenever she looked at it. Whenever she looked at you.
“I know.” You turned to her, brows drawn in confusion. “You do?” Lin sighed, “No I don’t..I just..I wanted to apologize.” You didn’t say anything. Your curious stare made Lin feel small. It made her feel like a kid and Toph caught her misbehaving. She felt like shrinking into the tile of the balcony and disappearing. She watched you pull out a blunt and a lighter. The soft orange flecks lit up and you took a drag. Blowing it out, you handed it to her. Lin accepted it gladly.
“It’s alright Lin,” you said, shooting her a smile. “I’m not mad.” “You’re not?” Shaking your head, you took the blunt once she handed it back to you. Another hit, and then you passed it again. It was a pattern. “I could never be angry with you. Nothing could ever make me hate you.”
“Why did you do that,” Lin asked, eyes focusing on the railing. Lin wanted to run. She would always be a coward. She would always run like her life depended on it. In a sense, it felt like it did. “To Protect you.” Lin’s eyes flickered to your lips. They wrapped around the blunt. They looked so soft and warm. Lin wondered if you still used the fruity chapstick you loved all those years ago. You caught her eye and sent her a wink. She looked away, cheeks slightly flushing.
“It’s all I know,” you whispered. “I care about you...I... if I seeing you getting hurt or the idea of,” your voice wavered. You swallowed thickly. “I’d rather get hurt than see you in danger.” Lin didn’t say anything but you knew she hung on to every word you said. “What Su did...Suyin,” you corrected yourself. Suyin wasn’t a friend to you anymore. She had cut off that friendship now. “You didn’t deserve that Lin. And I’m so so sorry.”
Lin swallowed. She was deathly quiet. For so long she had been angry. Bitter, lonely, sad. She directed it at people who didn’t deserve it and in turn the people she loved left. Lin had a hard time facing her feelings and accepting them for what they were. She felt so lost at hearing your words. The words she had been daydreaming about from you were now reality. I care about you. It felt weird and wrong coming from your lips. And yet, they felt like home.
“It wasn’t true? That I pushed you away?,” Lin’s breath wavered. The lump in her throat felt heavier. “Y-you left (Y/N), you left me here alone. I...I had no one. And then you come back out of no where and pretend everything’s fine.”
You took another hit and exhaled. Lin watched the smoke wisp away. The slight buzz in her system and the haziness in her veins was ironic. It almost made her laugh at the irony of its difference from what she actually felt.
“I know,” you replied, voice choking. “And I regret every second of my life because of that. If I could take it all back, I would. I-I didn’t know what else to do. I just saw you and...it all came crashing back again.” Lin’s eyes watered. Damnit, she wouldn’t cry over this. Over something so small and trivial. It had been thirty years. Thirty fucking years since the last time she saw you. And you waltzed back into her life like nothing had happened. What was she supposed to make of that?
“I’m sorry Lin,” you whispered softly. She watched a tear fall from your eye. Then another. This all felt like some cliche movie film. This couldn’t be real, you weren’t real. Lin was dreaming again and soon she’d wake up. She would trudge through the morning to get to work along with the dreams from the night before. They were faded but still left a bitter taste in her mouth. But she knew this wasn’t a dream as much as she wished it were. Every second of this was real. Your voice was real and you, in front of her, were real.
“Do you love me?” Lin hated that her voice shook. She swallowed the tears away. The pit in her throat rolled like a stone. She felt she was choking on air from trying to keep it together. Lin tried so hard to maintain the perfect image. The one she created to make Toph proud, the image she created to finally be at peace with herself. But as always, you saw right through her.
“I never stopped,” you whispered, voice cracking. Your eyes red from the weed and your tears. You sniffled lightly, wiping your nose. You flinched slightly from the pain. Lin took a long hit. Her vision blurred and her heart ached longingly. You were here; after thirty fucking years you came back to her.
Every time she saw you it all came rushing back. Bao and Bo singing along to “Dancing Queen” as it played while the two of you danced. Whenever you first joined the force and Lin couldn’t focus around you. How the two of you would sneak off in the middle of the day and make out in the janitor’s closet. Two young dumb kids in love. Things hadn’t changed. Now, the two of you were old, dumb, and in love.
“I-I understand if you don’t want anything right now.” Lin snapped out of her thoughts. “But I want you to know that I do really care about you. I still want you in my life...but I understand if you want me gone. I-I’ll leave as soon as I can and stay gone for good.” She swallowed thickly. She choked on air and breathed heavily. “No.”
You looked at her, shocked. Lin passed the blunt to you and you took another hit. Patiently, you waited. You’ve waited for thirty years to see Lin again one day. You’d wait for her again in a heart beat.
“I finally have you in my grasp. I don’t want to loose you again.” You looked over to her. Lin stared out into the distance. Gently, you placed your hand on hers. Her eyes shifted at hers and yours hands, then your face. You smiled, lips quivering.
Lin turned to watch Azure and Ruby. They preened each other with their beaks. Azure seemed softer with Ruby as he ran his beak gently through her feathers. “Did Bao and Bo...?” Lin couldn’t finish her sentence. You chuckled sadly, “Yea.” “I’m sorry.” She pulled her hand from yours and gently removed your hand off the railing. Her hand was soft and warm as she grasped yours firmly. You looked at her confused and she sent you a smile in return. Lin’s hand didn’t let go of yours as she hung it by her side. She squeezed it gently.
“Bo died from a robbery,” you whispered.
Lin was surprised. Birds weren’t fighters. ‘Well’, she thought smiling at the memory of Bo trying to fight her reflection in Lin’s police uniform. “How,” Lin asked softly.  “I was asleep. Two men came in my hut that night. Bo screeched loud enough to wake me. She flew around them rapidly.” You wiped the tears from your eyes before continuing. “They flung her against the wall. She died pretty soon after. That’s where I got this scar.” You pointed to the one on your brow. Lin’s heart sank. “What happened to the men?”
“I killed them.” Lin didn’t say anything, but stroked your hand with her thumb. You pulled your lips into a quivering smile. “They were just bandits out in the middle of nowhere trying to rob a poor fool. Hurt like a bitch. Left me a scar to tell the tale.” “I’m so sorry (Y/N),” Lin whispered. She turned her hand to trace your palm with her fingers. It tickled a bit.
“What happened to Bao?” “Died seven years later.” “How?” “Heartbreak. Was never the same without Bo.” Lin turned towards you. Her green eyes were incredibly soft. “I’m glad..that you’re here again.” “Heh,” you laughed, choking slightly. “I am too.”
Lin looked at Azure and Ruby again. They chirped softly and hopped on the tile floor. Azure strutted about, observing the place while Ruby watched carefully. “Where’d you get them?” Your eyes fell downwards and smiled fondly at your precious parakeets. “Dee gave them to me,” you said. “We went to a pet store in the city he lives. It had been a while since I’ve seen him and it was our mom’s birthday. We always try and meet up to be there for each other. Found these two sleeping soundly and the rest is history.”
“They’re beautiful,” Lin murmured. You nodded, agreeing. Silence fell between the two of you. It didn’t feel sad and lonely this time. There wasn’t regret or bitterness. For the first time in thirty years, you felt like you could breathe again. “Thanks for the drink,” you said, dropping Lin’s hand. The blunt was almost out but there was still some of it left. You’d finish it on your way to your rooms. Azure and Ruby flew to your shoulder from hearing your footsteps. Azure squwaked at Lin, demanding pets. Lin laughed and went to stroke his head. “Of course,” Lin said, hand dropping to her side again. “Thanks for the smoke.”
You smiled, a genuine one this time. Yet there was some sadness still swirling in your eyes. Lin felt her heart ache. Before she could think better of it, Lin leaned down and kissed your cheek. Your eyes went wide. You hadn’t expected that at all. “Kissing me so soon?” “I’ll take it back,” Lin grunted. “Can’t,” you argued, sending her a wink. “See you tomorrow?” “See you tomorrow,” Lin confirmed with a soft smile. Giving her one last wave and a chirp from Azure and Ruby, you left the balcony. A real smile was on your face for the first time in a while.
“The incantation, as you know, makes Barbara experience whatever trauma befalls strickler. Unfortunately breaking the binding spell will also erase her memory,” Vendel explained to you and Jim.
“What are you saying? I’m gonna forget Trollmarket? That Jim’s the Trollhunter? That Y/n can do magic?” Your mom asked and you smiled sadly, but that just meant you would have to tell her again later. Maybe you could do it properly this time.
“I’ll leave you with a moment of privacy,” Vendel muttered, pulling Strickler out of the room with him.
“Guess we’re gonna have to have this conversation again,” Jim chuckled.
“Jim, Y/n, listen to me. Promise me we will. Okay? It took all of this for you to tell me about...your other life.”
“I just didn’t want to worry you. And I know we have,” Jim said.
“Yes, yes, you have. I am worried about both of you. I’m scared. But listen to me. It is my job to worry. And it’s not your job to protect me. I want you to know something. Even before you found this amulet and you found your magic—way before all of this—you two were always my heroes. My beautiful children.”
“We love you mom,” you whispered, hugging her gently. You tried not to let any tears fall, it wasn’t like she would be gone afterwards, you would still have your mom.
“We really do,” Jim added.
“The time has come,” Vendel announced. “Place your hands upon the gemstone.”
“Barbara, I—“ Strickler started, but your mom cut him off.
“Don’t talk to me. You’re the one thing I’m looking forward to forgetting.” Strickler sighed and looked genuinely upset. You gave him a sympathetic smile, he had grown on you.
Vendel chanted some more and your mom looked at you. “Guys, promise me, After this is over, don’t keep your trollhunting a secret from me anymore. Promise me.”
You nodded as Vendel continued chanting. Your sad smile slowly slipped into one of horror as orange electricity came from the piece of Heartstone Vendel was holding. It raced up your mom and Strickler’s arms and Strickler began to scream.
Vendel continued. “Forgive me, Barbara,” Strickler gasped between wails.
Your mom didn’t look at him, instead she turned to you and Jim. “Promise me!”
“Dr. Hammond to Radiology,” a voice over the hospital intercom announced.
“She’ll be safe here,” Jim reassured you as you paced nervously by the window.
“Jim? Y/n? What happened?” You heard your mom’s weak voice ask.
Jim turned to her. “Mom, something happened last night. Something you can't tell anyone.” You nodded to Jim, giving him a thumbs up and an encouraging smile.
“What is it? Why do you look so worried?” Your mom asked, concerned for Jim.
“Well, uh...there was… an accident. You feinted, you bumped your head and I drove you here,” Jim explained and your encouraging expression turned to one of anger. You glared at Jim and shook your head. He had promised.
“My hero.” She paused. “I know there are things going on with you, Jim. Things you don’t want to tell me.”
“There are? I mean, you do?” Jim stuttered and you rolled your eyes. Jim wasn’t that subtle, you and your mom had had plenty of worrying conversations where you had to cover for him.
“Well, sure, you’re sixteen. You have your own life. I just want you to know there’s nothing you can’t share with me. Whatever it is I can take it,” your mom said and you smiled at Jim nodding again, but he gently shook his head.
He looked back at your mom. “I know you can.”
After Jim left you were tempted, to say the least, to tell her anyways, but you held it in. You wouldn’t force Jim to come clean, there was something holding him back and you needed to find what it was.
“Y/n?” Your mom asked after Jim had been gone for a while. “Why didn’t you drive me to the hospital?”
“I wasn’t home, I was helping a friend.” The lie left a bad taste in your mouth. You hated lying to her.
“This ‘friend’ wouldn’t happen to be Douxie, would it?” She teased and you smiled. It had been awhile since the two of you were able to spend some quality time together, albeit, this wasn’t the best situation.
“We’re just friends mom,” you said, trying not to smile.
“Alright,” she relented and your smile grew. “But you do like him?”
You groaned good naturedly, “Mom!”
“What?”
“Let’s talk about something else. What about redecorating the house? I feel like it’s time for a change.”
She looked at you quizzically, a smile still shining on her face. “Okay...”
~~~~
Later that night you made your way to Trollmarket with a smile on your face. It had been great to just chat with your mom. You would cherish those memories and now you had her input on how to redesign the house after Angor Rot ruined it.
You waltzed over to Blinky’s library, a hop in your step, but you faltered when you heard Vendel. “She allowed Angor Rot to obtain a Horngazel. The very key past Trollmraket’s defenses?”
You slowly entered the room and slid over to Toby. “Sooo, what’d I miss?”
“Angor Rot stole Claire’s Horngazel,” Toby whispered back and your eyes widened. That was very bad.
“It’s not Claire’s fault it’s mine. I should have gone to the school for the incantaion. I should have faced Angor Rot. Not them,” Jim defended.
“Jim’s right, I should have gone with them,” you mumbled to Toby.
“No, you were with your mom,” Toby responded.
“It was in my purse. Toby and I were dangling off the roof. He cut it off and left,” Claire said and you looked at Toby, eyes even wider and he nodded.
“Yeah, you also might have to let the school know I have an inhaler now,” Toby whispered.
You chuckled. “I’m not even gonna ask.”
“Is there something you’d like to share with the rest of us?” Vendel asked.
“It was a great everyday purse. It went with everything,” Toby said, consoling Claire. You smiled, sure Angor Rot getting the Horngazel was bad, but at least Toby and Claire were okay.
“We might have time. Angor Rot rarely attacks during the day,” Jim pointed out, bringing the topic back to serious matters.
“Angor Rot is unpredictable at best. And if there isn’t anything to stop him from creating havoc in Trollmarket...then you have to put more than yourselves at risk,” Vendel countered.
The room settled into a thoughtful and fearful silence, however, Strickler’s voice broke it, “Trollhunter! Help!”
The five of you looked to each other and then ran out of the room. You heard Blinky yelling in the distance. “Ruffians! Who threw that?!”
“Where’s Jim? he gave me his word!” Strickler whined as you pushed through the crowd.
“What? I’m not good enough?” You asked him, jokingly.
Strickler apologized as Jim and company arrived.
“Put him down! He helped save my mother,” Jim ordered as he pushed through the crowd of trolls to stand with Blinky and Aaarrrgghh.
“He’s with us,” you added.
“He tried to release Gunmar!” Someone shouted.
“Get him out of here!” Called another troll.
“Changlings ain’t right in Trollmarket!” Bagdwella argued.
“Get rid of him!”
“It’s not going to make a difference. Angor Rot wants me too, and the protective barrier won’t stop him,” Jim announced.
“What do you mean?” Blinky asked.
Jim sighed, “He has a Horngazel.”
The trolls bagan to throw garbage, but you created an orange shield to cover him. The trash bounced off of it, harmless.
“Look, you have a right to know!” Jim said.
“Let’s throw them both out!” A Troll from the crowd roared, grabbing Jim. “It’s time the amulet called for a new Trollhunter!”
“Jimbo!” Toby called.
“It’s not his fault!” Claire added as the trolls began to chant.
“Throw him out!”
“Throw him out!”
“Throw him out!”
“When you finish throwing them out come back and throw me out, too,” Vendel announced climbing on top of your old and broken car. “Yes the boy has made grave errors. But he’s come through for more times than I give him credit for.”
You levitated onto top of your old car, showing off your magic. “Yeah, he has. And if you want my brother gone, you’ll have to say goodbye to your only sorceress as well!”
Vendel smiled at you and nodded, then he continued, “Trollmarket is in danger and our greatest defense has always been our Trollhunter. He’s earned my trust. He should have earned yours.”
“You can throw me out too,” Blinky agreed.
“And me,” Aaarrrgghh added.
“Us too, though technically, we don’t live here. I’m just sayin,’” Toby mumbled as Bagdwella stepped forward.
“Same for me. I’ve always stood with our Trollhunter!” She announced.
“Okay, yeah.” Toby scoffed and you hid a laugh as Bagdwella gave you an indignant look. However, the trolls began to consider your friends’ words and the trolls dropped Jim and Strickler.
“What now, our infallible leader?” Strickler asked.
Jim walked up the stairs and then turned around dramatically. “Now, we get ready to give Angor Rot the fight of his life!”
The crowd cheered and began to get to work. You helped out, but you eventually headed back to Blinky’s library with Jim, Claire, and Toby.
“Chomsky? No way! When did he get out?” Jim asked upon seeing the fierce yet endearing gnome.
“Wait, Chompsky’s out!” You exclaimed, clapping.
“A little while ago. We were gonna tell you, but with everything and your mom…” Claire explained.
“Why would you hold back the great news? He escaped the Darklands!” Jim laughed, but you hesitated. There was something off about the gnome’s aura. Even though Vendel had just taught you to read aura’s you had picked up the skill quickly and now you were sure something was wrong. Chompsky had a dark aura surrounding him, similar to the one Mindy had.
“What’s your definition of ‘escaped’?”—you asked, shoving your thoughts of Mindy aside and focusing on your newly returned friend.
“Y/n’s right. Technically he didn’t. Gunmar let him out to deliver a message,” Toby verified.
“Jim, Gunmar knows you killed his son,” Claire warned.
“And he promises to make a river- no, an ocean of blood from your loved ones. And he’s gonna make a throne, of with their—I think he said—bones. His words not mine.” NotEnrique spoke up, putting his hands up in surrender.
Chompsky growled at him and you gave a weak smile. Gunmar just threatened your family.
“And...And he included a list,” Toby added.
NotEnrique began to list the names, “Tobias. Claire. Barbara. Y/n. Blinkous...”
“We knew what we were getting into. After we find the last stone, we’ll find my brother and end this once and for all,” Claire promised.
You hugged your brother. “Yes, Claire’s right. Gunmar just threatened my family too. He will regret that.”
“Draal. Coach Lawrence,” NotEnrique continued in the background.
“It goes on for a while. You don’t need to listen to this.” Toby pulled Jim away.
Claire turned to him. “It’s like you said, we shouldn’t be focused on the fight tomorrow, but the fight today.”
“It’s too bad we’ve been wasting out time collecting stones to kill Gunmar and not Angor Rot,” Toby muttered.
“Or so you think,” Strickler said, walking in. “Maybe you do have a stone. Angor’s eye.”
“You’re saying he can use that in his amulet?” You asked.
Toby squealed. “Jim, you’re gonna level up again!”
“If cut with proper guidance,” Strickler cautioned.
“Show me where to cut.” Jim walked off with Strickler, but you held Claire and Toby back.
“You two have been great friends and I’m so glad that you are a part of this. We make a fantastic team, but I’m worried about Jim. He’s putting too much pressure on himself and then there’s our mom, he didn’t tell her the truth.” You took a deep breath after voicing your concerns.
“Don’t worry, Y/n/n, Jimbo’s got this and we’re here for him,” Toby reassured and you smiled.
“Don’t worry, Y/n, We just have to do our best to support Jim,” Claire added.
“Okay. Then let’s go and win this fight. Afterwards, ice cream’s on me.”
~~~~
You absolutely despised fighting golems, but you were getting the hang of slicing through them and then using your magic to crush the totems. Though the longer you used your magic, the more tired you got. You had yet to develop the stamina.
You stabbed a blue golem through the heart and it shattered. You didn’t even have a second to breath before you were taking down a pink one then an orange and after that another blue.
While you seemed to be holding up better than others, you were still growing tired. When you tried to dodge a pink golem your side was sliced by a sharp gem. You hissed in pain and almost dropped your sword.
The golem pulled its hands up to smash you, but you rolled out of the way, scraping your hands on the cold ground. You levitated yourself to your feet, but before you could get back to the fight, your golem shattered and Claire stood behind it.
A blue golem approached her from behind, ready to smash. It was too late to warn her so you basted it. The gems flew everywhere, but you managed to catch them, your orange glow surrounding the blue. Unable to hold them any longer, you redirected them into another golem. You and Claire smashed their totems and you went off to help NotEnrique who was backing away from another pink golem.
You decided to try something new, you pictured the totem nestled inside the sharp pink crystals and pulled. The totem, glowing with your orange magic, flew to your hands and you crushed it.
“Thanks,” NotEnrique called and you nodded, already moving to fight another. You moved through your various methods, destroying golem after golem. They just kept coming though, you watched as more trolls fell. Angered by their deaths you fought on.
You killed a purple golem, slicing it with your sword and throwing newly summoned daggers through another. The lifeless gems fell to the ground, revealing Blinky flying past you in your mom’s old car.
You froze and were almost cut by an orange golem, but you killed it then ran to help Blinky. Your hands glowed orange and so did Blinky as he was pulled from the wrecked car. You shattered another golem behind you as you watched Toby struggle with his hammer.
Aaarrrgghh came over to help and you felt disheartened as more trolls struggled. It seemed impossible that Angor Rot was able to bring this many totems yet here you were fighting the results of his dark magicks.
Your gaze was pulled to Angor Rot and you watched in frozen horror as the dagger flew towards Toby. You lifted your hands to send your magic to protect him in some way, in any way.
Aaarrrgghh had the same idea though and a bone chilling wail left your lips. Your magic wasn’t placed to protect Aaarrrgghh and the glowing green dagger pierced his stone.
A cold hopelessness entered your heart and you felt your blood blaze with the fire of your magic. Fire Keeper seemed a fitting nickname as your eyes glowed a fiery orange and the golems that had been creeping up on you and Blinky exploded. The pieces, dangerous sharpenal that would hurt your allies,  should have flown everywhere, but your magic stopped them. You sent them all to Angor Rot, but he hid behind a wall.
The glow in your eyes flickered out and you fell to the ground. You hadn’t realized you had levitated yourself, but Blinky was there to catch you.
“I’m going to kill you!” you heard Toby scream. You watched, exhausted as Toby failed to even land a hit on Angor.
“I destroyed your soul! Your fight is with me! Not them!” Jim growled after finishing off a golem.
“As you wish Trollhunter,” Angor hissed. Jim glanced around and turned to run, leading Angor Rot away. You managed to deal with a few more golems before Claire pulled you away.
“Master Jim!” Blinky yelled as the door to the Heroes forge fell, shutting Jim and Angor inside. Your brother was alone.
“Let us in!” Toby cried.
Claire pounded on the gate. “Jim!”
You cried as you tried to blast the doors to no avail.
“The only reason you’re alive is because you’ve let your loved ones fall in your place! Your teacher, the changling! Your mother!” Angor taunted as he sent purple blasts towards Jim.
“No! Jim!” Claire howled as Jim barely dodged.
“And now your simple friend, Aaarrrgghh, is dead!” Angor growled and you screamed, blasting the door even more with strength you didn’t even know you had.
“No!” Jim roared, fighting back.
Claire, pulled out her shadow staff. “Toby I’m gonna make a portal over Angor Rot.”
“You make sure to smash him,” you added, “for Aaarrrgghh.”
“But where are your loved ones now, hunter?” Angor raised his dagger for the killing blow and you blasted the door one last time, shattering it.
Angor looked to you, confused. His hesitation bought Jim enough time to shove Angor’s dagger back at him.
“Up here, Rot head!” Toby announced as he fell from the portal. As Angor turned to stone Toby’s hammer hit, shattering him.
“Jim!” Claire as you exclaimed, hugging him.
“Is he really gone?” Claire asked, pulling away.
“He better be,” Jim said.
“Yeah. He better be,” Toby growled.You stared at the gray stones and shivered, you had just helped kill someone. Killing goblins and golems was one thing, but Angor was different. He was almost human, albeit, a horrible human.
Then blue orbs flew from the pile they whispered to Jim, thanking him for their freedom.
“What...I mean, who are they?” Claire asked.
The blue orbs gathered into a large one and suddenly Kanjigar appeared. “These are the spirits of our fallen brethren. Trollhunters who lost both soul and life to Angor Rot. Our brothers and sisters shall take their proper place in the void and rest in peace. Thanks to you, James Lake Junior, and your friends. You were right, you are stronger together. We are in your debt. But the day will come, Trollhunter, when you must finish the fight alone.”
You frowned at the last line, but a sad smile came to your face as you saw Draal and father say goodbye. It was a bittersweet moment on a bittersweet day.
You let them be and left the arena. You had to saw goodbye too.
It was quiet in the streets of Trollmarket and piles of gems littered the ground. You shivered, it felt colder in Trollmarket than it normally did.
Eventually you came across Aaarrrgghh. You let tears fall at the sight of your friend. You couldn’t even imagine how Blinky might be feeling. You hadn’t known Aaarrrgghh for even a quarter as long as Blinky had.
Toby, Claire, and Jim soon followed.
Toby began to sob and you hugged him as Claire consoled him. “Hold onto that anger. Save it for the Darklands.”
“Jim?” Claire asked as Jim walked away. You sobbed for a while longer, mourning your fallen friend when Blinky joined you.
“I saw Master Jim heading towards the ruins of Killahead,” he panted and your eyes widened. You knew what he was going to do. Call it sister’s intuition or just straight up divination, you knew he was going to open Killahead. He was going to the Darklands, without you.
“Master Jim!” Blinky yelled as once again the doors shut in your faces.
“Dude, what are you doing?” Toby called.
“Jim, don’t! Jim, no! You promised we’d go together!” Claire screamed.
You cried. “Jim don’t do this without me.”
“The amulet chose me. I can’t lose any more of you,” Jim responded.
“Can I use my shadow staff?” Claire questioned.
“No, the room is sealed from dark magicks,” you explained sadly.
Blinky observed the door. “Maybe I can override the lock.”
“Do it, please,” you begged.
“Come on Jimbo! We’re a team! Don’t do this!” Toby pounded on the door.
“I’m sorry. I have to finish the fight. Alone,” Jim said through the door.
“We can do that together!” You wailed. “What will I tell mom?”
You and Claire screamed together. “Jim!”
“I’m sorry,” you heard Jim mutter as the doors slowly opened.
“No! Jim!” Claire and you pleaded as Jim walked into the portal. The inky hole immediately swallowed him, taking him to the Darklands.
“Jim!” Toby cried out. You ran to where the portal was only to find regular stone.
“Master Jim, what have you done?” Blinky muttered, covering his eyes.
You wailed, this wasn’t right. It wasn’t okay, Jim just left you. He was gone, he had vanished into the portal. You couldn’t believe it. Today was not turning out well. You had already lost Aaarrrgghh and now your brother, what were you going to do now.
You walked over to Toby and Claire and pulled them into a group hug. Toby, who you thought of as a little brother, was okay and so was Claire and Blinky. They were okay, but while you tried to remind yourself of these facts your thoughts always spiraled back to your brother.
“Master Jim will be fine,” Blinky reassured, but you could hear the wobble in his voice, he was close to falling apart.
“Yeah,” Toby said optimistically, “The amulet still belongs to Jim and we can just cover for him while he’s gone. It’s just like he is on a quick mission to the darklands.”
It sounded like Toby was trying to convince himself just as much as he was trying to convince you.
Claire sniffed, “Yes, Jim will get my brother back and we will do the best we can to help him.”
“That sounds like a great plan guys. We can talk more about it tomorrow, I-I just need a moment.”
You broke away from the hug and began running. You didn’t know what to do. You couldn’t go home, your mom would be home and what were you supposed to tell her? Yes, Jim was technically alive, but he was gone and if you were being honest with yourself you were terrified that he wasn’t strong enough to return.
Your emotions were changing with every minute. One second you were angry at Jim for leaving you and the next you were terrified that he wouldn’t make it back.
Everything hurt so you just ran, letting your feet carry you to wherever. You ran for what felt like minutes, but it was probably a lot longer before you found yourself exhausted in front of Douxie’s bookshop.
You were sure you looked like a mess, but you went inside anyways. What did it matter if you looked like a banshee?
“I’ll be with you in a minute!” Douxie called from upstairs and you collapsed on a chair. Archie looked at you quizzically before hopping into your lap and nuzzling you.
Normally you would have smiled at the gesture from the cat, especially after spending so much time with him and noticing how he didn’t really care for any of the shop’s other visitors. However, today you just didn’t have the energy to smile, you didn’t have any more energy.
You had fought and killed someone which was horrible and said troll had killed a good friend of yours, causing your brother to go on a dangerous mission, alone, to the most dangerous place in the world. Today was definitely not your day.
Footsteps hopped down the stairs and you heard Douxie’s voice say, “How may I hel—Y/n?! Are you alright?”
You sniffed. “I just lost...a friend and I couldn’t go home.”
Douxie pulled you to your feet and hugged you. “Don’t worry, I’m here.”
Clark lands in the tall grass, smiling at his childhood home; glad to be back from the long mission with the gang. He enjoys being with them at Wayne Manor, but he loves coming back home to his family.
His good mood quickly disappears as a frown creases onto his face. His supersonic ears hear the yelling coming from inside the house. He lifts his feet, zooming to the front steps just as the door opens; his adoptive daughter stepping over the threshold with a suitcase in her hand.
“Where are you going?”
“Dad?” Y/n freezes at the sight of her father. “I-I thought you were going to be gone for another week?”
“Victor was able to find the criminal faster than we expected. Where are you going?”
“Y/n Kent, you are not leaving this house until- Oh Clark, you’re home.” Clark’s mother, Martha comes to halt behind her granddaughter when she sees her son.
Clark raises an eyebrow at his daughter. What trouble has she gotten into now?
Ever since Clark died, Y/n has become a rebellious teenager. He misses when she was an innocent, outspoken but obedient kid. Don’t get him wrong, he still loves her and loves who she is. He’s just ready for the anger and the rebellion to be gone. “What’s with the suitcase, Y/n?”
“I’m staying with a friend.”
“Y/n!” Martha snaps, rather harshly; clearly done with her granddaughter’s lies.
Y/n rolls her eyes, but snaps them back to her father when he grabs her chin.
“Watch the attitude, young lady.” He warns; keeping eye contact until she drops her gaze. He releases her chin, folding his arms over his chest. “Stop lying and answer my question.”
Y/n sighs, releasing her grip on her suitcase. She knows there’s no way she’ll get to see them now; not with her father here to stop her. “I was going to see them.”
Clark’s eyes narrow, silently hoping she’s not talking about who he thinks she’s talking about. “Them?”
“I know you know who I’m talking about, Dad.”
Clark closes his eyes. It’s a good thing he has control over his powers, or else he doesn’t think he could stop the heat releasing from his eyes. “Why can’t you learn to let the fuck go?” He regrets the words as soon as the last syllable escapes his lips.
“Clark!” It’s his name this time that comes from his mother’s scolding tone.
Y/n shoves her suitcase, letting it fall at his feet. “Fuck you.” Ignoring the tears falling, she turns on her heel, squeezes past Martha and sprints to her room.
He refuses to look at his mother, knowing she’s giving him that disappointed look. If he sees it, he’ll cave, apologizing to not only her but to Y/n as well. He’s not ready to admit he was in the wrong. “I know, Ma.” He whispers before shooting straight up. He needs to clear his head before facing his daughter.
***
Y/n stays in her room until morning, ignoring Martha’s pleas for her to eat dinner. She knew Clark wouldn’t be happy when he found out she was trying, once again, to see her biological parents. But she didn’t think he would react as badly as he did.
Why is he so against it? Did he not do the same thing to Martha when he found out there were more people like him? Why can’t he be as understanding as his own mother? Why is it wrong for her to want to meet her biological parents; but it wasn’t wrong for him? It’s not fair.
Her body stiffens when there’s a knock on her door.
“Y/n, let me in please.”
Hearing the regretful tone in her father’s voice, she decides to give him a chance to apologize. So she stands, unlocks the door, and lets him in without saying a word. She sits back on her bed while Clark stands awkwardly in front of her.
“I’m sorry for how I spoke to you yesterday. I’m your father and I should’ve handled that in a more mature way.”
Y/n nods, accepting his apology. She waits to see if he’ll apologize for forbidding her from meeting her biological parents.
Clark clears his throat, wondering where her apology for trying to sneak out behind his back is.
“Anything else you want to say?” Y/n decides she’s done waiting.
Clark’s eyebrow shot up at that. “What else am I supposed to say? I apologized.”
“Yeah, for being an asshole.”
Clark opens his mouth to scold her for the cursing, but decides against. “I’ll let that go because I deserved it; but that’s you’re only freebie. You know how I, and your grandma, feel about cursing.”
Y/n resists the urge to argue further about that particular subject. That’s a battle to fight another time. “I need to see them, Dad.” Before he can tell her no, she changes tactics. “Have you ever thought I wanted to see them so I can tell them off? Or to ask them why they did what they did? Or maybe, just maybe I need closure so I can move on.”
Clark’s jaw snaps shut at her words. He never thought about it that way. His own experience with finding out who his biological family is didn’t end the way he had hoped. He just didn’t want her to get hurt more than she already did. “I never thought you-” He stops, inhaling before exhaling. “I just never understood why you would want to meet the people who tried to kill you. Even after you came to live with me and Ma, they tried. And when I died-” He hides his face in his hands, sitting down next to her on the bed. “T-They almost succeeded at taking you away from me for good. I may not have been alive at the moment, but knowing that they could’ve taken you away, scared me. Had they succeeded, I don’t think I would’ve been able to handle that.”
Y/n leans against her father’s chest, his words washing away her anger towards him. “I love you, Dad. I love being here with you and Grandma. And you know I love Lois. She was there for me when you died, even though she was hurting just as much as I was. I’m grateful everyday that it was you who stopped them from killing me. Even if Aunt Diane is my favorite superhero.”
“Hey! No one beats your old man.” He teases as his fingers dance over her ribs. He smiles when he hears her giggles. He pulls her closer to him. “I’m sorry, Y/n. I should’ve listened.”
The duo hold onto each other in silence for a few moments.
“I’m glad you two made up on your own.” Martha says from the doorway, a mischievous grin in place. “I was giving you till lunch before I started boxing some ears.”
For the first time in days, laughter fills the Kent home.
The Beginning
ATEEZ Extra Member AU
Summary: This is how Yoori and San first met.
Warnings: slight mentions of child abuse
Taglist: @hyunmijung @galacticstxrdust @giant-puppy-yunho @kimonmars @soobinssmile
A/N: I know I already post an update for Yoori, but I completely forgot that it was San’s birthday today. So in honor of his birthday, I thought I’d share how Yoori and San became best friends. Hope you enjoy!
Requests are open! Please let me know what you think.
Tumblr media
Yoori sat on her knees by the window waiting for the little boy that lived next door to walk by with his mother. She waited for him everyday ever since the first time that he waved at her. At first she’d see him randomly, not knowing when the boy would pass, but soon Yoori figured out that after lunchtime his mom would take him out and then sometime later they’d come back.
She never really knew when he'd come back, seeing as four year olds didn’t really have a concept of time, so she’d wait by the window, playing with her little bunny doll, in hopes to catch him coming home.
Today was no different. Yoori’s parents had left her some food on the table (Most likely leftovers from their lunch.) and walked off to do their own thing. Yoori remembered hearing her mom say that she was going into her study to work, and her father had said that he had errands to run.
So Yoori quietly munched on her cold rice and kimchi, swinging her little legs off the front of the chair that she had pushed by the window. She pretended to feed her bunny, Minnie, and talked to her as she waited for the boy and his mother.
As she was finishing her meal, the front door to her neighbor’s house opened, and out walked the little boy. Smiling excitedly, Yoori scooted off the chair, and hopped off. She landed on her feet, but rolled a bit onto her butt. Giggling, she stood back up and rushed to the window.
There standing with his hands in his jean pockets, staring at the window, was the little boy. He was waiting for Yoori.
Standing on her tiptoes, she peered over the windowsill and smiled at him. He smiled back, pulling his hand out of his pocket and waving it at her. Yoori beamed, doing the same.
His mother, who even Yoori could see was a beautiful woman, smiled at Yoori as well. Shyly, Yoori smiled back, bowing politely. (She’s seen people do this on TV with other people, so Yoori figured she’d do the same.) The woman smiled back warmly, and Yoori felt happy.
Yoori didn’t get many chances to see people other than her parents, their friends that came over from time to time, and the occasional doctor. Which is why she always waited for the little boy. And Yoori could add his mother to the very short list of people that Yoori was excited to see.
The woman waved one more time to Yoori, then grabbed her son’s hand. The boy pouted, but smiled at Yoori, waving goodbye. Yoori waved as well, and watched as the two disappeared down the street. She felt sad once she couldn’t see them again, but remembered that they’d be back.
Moving away from the window, Yoori turned to Minnie who had fallen to the ground in her haste to see the boy. She quickly went to grab her, dusting her off.
“Sorry, Minnie,” Yoori spoke softly, hugging the bunny to her chest. She then placed her on the windowsill, patting her head.
Moving to push the chair back to its original place, she hummed to herself. Then Yoori grabbed her little bowl and spoon and walked to the sink. Pulling the stool over, she stood on it and washed the bowl, just like her parents had told her to do. She didn’t want to make them mad again for leaving a mess.
Once everything was clean, she went back to the window and played with Minnie, waiting for her friend to come back.
“Yah! Yoori!” The little girl turned to the angry voice of her mother who just entered the room.
“Yes, Mommy?” Yoori asked quietly. She put Minnie down and stood up to face her mother, hands clasped behind her back.
“Were you moving the furniture again? How many times have I told you not to do that? Why can’t you ever listen?” her mother yelled, anger overtaking her features.
Yoori took a step back, fearful of her mother. Both her parents got angry very easily, whether at Yoori or something else, but Yoori was always the one being yelled at. And even at her young age, she knew that parents should at least say ‘I love you.’ or give hugs from time to time. But not her parents. Yoori never understood why.
“I’m sorry. I just wanted to see my friend,” Yoori said, pointing to the window.
Her mother squinted at the window, moving over to it. She looked outside, but couldn’t see anyone. “What friend?” she asked, looking at the girl.
Yoori smiled, excited that her mom wanted to know of her friend. “I don’t know his name yet, but he lives over there,” Yoori said as she too, moved to the window and pointed to the house next to theirs. “He waves at me everyday he walks by with his mom,” Yoori said, looking up at her mom, waving her hand to show her mom how her friend waves.
“I don’t want you by this window,” her mother stated. She closed the blinds and turned to Yoori.
“But why? How is my friend going to see me?” the girl asked as she looked at the now closed blinds.
“He won’t. You don’t need friends. Now go to your room,” her mother snapped. Yoori flinched at the raised voice and knew to listen to her mother. Quickly she grabbed Minnie and scurried into her room, shutting the door behind her.
Sometime later, Yoori sat in her room hugging Minnie and crying over the fact that she couldn’t see her friend anymore. Her dad was home by then and he and her mother were currently having dinner and arguing. Yoori didn’t know about what, and frankly, she didn’t care. She just wanted to see her friend.
More time passed, and her parents seemed to have retreated back to their bedroom. Yoori grabbed Minnie and opened her door, to see that only the stove light was on and the setting sun was creeping in through the windows.
Carefully she made her way to the kitchen and looked to see if her parents left her any food. They didn’t. Yoori must have really angered her mom,
She stood there, wondering if she should just go back to her room when she heard a voice. It was coming from her backyard. Yoori made her way over to the small window, and saw that it was her friend. He was in his yard, which was separated from hers with an old fence.
Without thinking too much, Yoori went to the back door. It was locked, but Yoori had seen her parents turn the lock many times to know how to unlock it. When she heard the click, she opened the door and ventured outside, hugging Minnie to her chest.
Yoori walked over to the fence and could hear the giggling as he played with his toys. It seems as though he was playing ninjas. The girl smiled and giggled at the sound.
She found a part of the fence that was missing a plank and popped her head through. Looking around she saw that his yard looked like hers, but he had a swing set and a sandbox, which the boy was currently sitting in. Said boy, who dropped his shovel as he looked up to see Yoori.
“Hi,” Yoori said, waving.
“Hi,” the boy greeted back, quickly getting up and running to her. “You’re the girl from the window, right?” he asked when he stood in front of her.
Yoori nodded. “Yeah. I’m Yoori,” she said, bowing awkwardly, her head still being the only thing visible to the boy.
The boy smiled and bowed too, then remembered something. “Right. I’m San,” he smiled and Yoori smiled back. “Do you want to play with me?” he asked her, nervously playing with his hands.
Yoori nodded happily, but then turned back to look at her house. “Umm,” she said, then looked back at San.
“Do you need to ask your parents?” he asked her. Yoori didn’t want to. She knew that they'd say no.
She shook her head. “No, it’s okay. I can play,” she lied, smiling. San backed up and gave Yoori room to squeeze through the opening and come into his yard. Once in she smiled at San.
He smiled back and grabbed her hand, pulling her over to the sandbox. “Do you know how to play ninja?” he asked her. Yoori shook her head, she’s never played before. “That’s okay. I’ll show you.” he guided her to sit in the sand, and Yoori smiled at the cool feeling of it in between her fingers.
San began to explain how to play and Yoori nodded excitedly, asking important questions like ‘How do we know who’s bad? And where do we keep them? And what’s a ninja star?’ San grinned and answered all of her questions, happy to have a friend that wanted to play with him.
But San’s happiness could never match Yoori’s. She finally had a friend, and one that she didn’t have to just wave to through a window.
Yoori’s Masterlist
