What does your fave Aot girl tells me about you
Don't come for my ass this is a realistic review. Also ALL aot girls are queens <3 Just try to pick 1 or 2 before going down.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pieck:On the surface you must look like a sweetheart but an unhinged freak lies in you that you only reveal to your closest ones. There is a very high chance that you have/had a crush on your girl besties even if it's platonic XD.You overall like soft, calming feminine energy so you might be a little disgusted from men especially macho ones xD Time to time some real sassy remarks escapes from your sweet exterior but you somehow get away with it xD
Hange:I'm 100% sure you have great humor and you are at least a little knowledgeble about EVERYTHİNG since you loooove digging eccentric topics. You are the joy of anywhere you go,even if you are an introvert, people can feel your positive vibrations strongly. Also you have mom issues xDD If you have a crush on Hange you 100% have mother issues I'm so sorry :D Care for a therapist?
Ymir:You are gay.You WANT TO mind your own business and stay away from drama but somehow you always fail. And get into unwanted situations because you are a hot headed person even though you don't realise. You absolutely have an offensive flirting style and a cursed sense of humor VERY FEW would understand. On this matter you also give intimidating vibes yet I'm sure a lot of girl has a crush on you but you terrify men.
Annie:You are a smart person that actually prioritizes themselves over others. Also you are confident so you don't really look for validation or attention of others.Even though you don't really need love from somebody else this shit is sometimes cute?Like give it a shot sometime and maybe you'll like it???xD Also you are an honest person doesn't like playing sinister mind games on that matter you deserve love so much more than many people.
Hitch:Bi bi bi.On the surface you got a very feminine yet sassy attitude but this is your way of dealing with unnecessary foolish shit going on.You are a little too much into yourself and others might think you are a little narsistic but simply you are too tired of stupid people and learned to care for yourself.Girlboss you are doing the right thing. But open up to your bestie about that little crush of yours ok?
Sasha:Another girlboss!!You must be a really mentally strong person that can stay bright even in the saddest times and uplift everyone. With this goofy yet caring manner of yours people might look down on you but you SLAY when you supposed to like nobody else can.I'm sure you are also an unproblematic sweetheart in relationships and you can pull the right people into your life naturally.
Historia:Idk if you know how much of a mental challange it is to remain this kind yet competitive but you are nailing it.In real life you must be giving wonderful vibes as a reliable person that is both trustworthy and capable. But sadly you possibly have some people pleasing attitude and because of this and your natural kindness sorry to say you are wrongly underestimated.Try to use some Annie or Ymir essances before pulling narcists down on you -if you already didn't-

Referring to your post about not liking Jesus, may I ask why you don't? /gen
Overhyped, over-produced, inescapable. Treated like a universal unproblematic fave despite some disturbing texts people either refuse to acknowledge or use as an EXAMPLE of him being so great.
Also more of my people have been slaughtered in his name than any other person in history. The more I've tuned in to the antisemitism and Xian hegemony around him the more I've just gotten sick of seeing him everywhere.
I dont HATE him. I don't even put that much energy into DISLIKING him. The honest truth is I just feel absolutely nothing about him. I'm just tired.

Hello! I had asked for your JadeSil headcanons and I really liked your point of view, I think it matches their canon personalities a lot! Jade taking an interest in Silver until Jade sees him as more than a friend and Silver not realizing Jade's true feelings until someone tells him. Well, I'm still hungry for more JadeSil headcanons, it's a ship that I love because they're two of my fave characters and their dynamic seems interesting and fun to explore. So can I ask for some more headcanons please?
Of course!  I'm so happy you enjoyed my previous headcanons!  Jade and Silver are some of my favorite characters as well, especially Silver... if my blog hasn’t already made that abundantly clear, haha...
Alright, so.  I think that the two of them get pretty serious as a couple rather quickly.  This means that showing each other their respective childhood homes and meeting their families occurs early on.  Luckily, with the portal magic they have, they’re able to take these little trips over one of NRC’s long weekends.  At first, Jade is a bit nervous to have Silver visit the Coral Sea, as that requires him revealing his true form—but to his infinite relief, his boyfriend seems awfully calm about the entire thing.  In all actuality, Silver is quite moved by this show of trust and vulnerability, and assures Jade that he’s beautiful no matter what form he takes.  Meeting Jade’s parents goes over just as smoothly—though they’re somewhat distant and seem apprehensive about what Silver hopes to gain from their relationship, with his natural charm and Floyd’s support, it remains a polite, surface-level affair and no issues are raised.
Having a formal get together with Silver’s family, on the other hand, is pure insanity.  During their trip to Briar Valley, they aren’t allowed a single moment of peace.  Somehow, it has become Lilia and Malleus’ personal mission to tell Jade every single embarrassing detail about Silver’s childhood that they can think of, which he enjoys immensely.  Meanwhile, Sebek is convinced that Jade is only there to steal all of Malleus’ secrets for future leverage, and follows them around everywhere.  This annoys Silver to no end—and it only gets worse.  Much to his absolute horror, Lilia insists on cooking dinner for the five of them, and even Malleus is powerless to stop him.  Thankfully, Jade has an impenetrable poker face and even manages a bit of practiced flattery; by the end of the night, he’s won the Diasomnia gang over completely (except Sebek, but there’s a grudging acknowledgment there).  Silver later takes him out on another dinner date to apologize for the damage done to his digestive system.
Speaking of which, I think that their dates are pretty lowkey.  In addition to keeping each other company during meals, studying, work, etc. and hiking together, they will do things like watching the sunset/sunrise, strolling through the garden, and stargazing.  On more than one occasion, Silver tries to teach Jade how to ride a horse, while Jade enlists his help with tending to his mushroom terrarium.  And, very rarely, Jade will find his boyfriend napping in some secluded location and join him in resting.  When Silver wakes up, he’ll smile and nestle closer, admiring the rare sight of Jade without any of his guards up.
Okay, switching gears now... Like I stated in my other post, I think that Jade and Silver would be relatively unproblematic together.  However, this doesn’t mean that there’s no fights between them whatsoever.  I believe that their rare conflicts would center around the impact of their jobs on their relationship—specifically as it pertains to Silver and Malleus.  Guarding someone takes up quite a lot of time and Jade, being slightly possessive, can sometimes feel neglected in the face of his boyfriend’s sense of duty, especially when there’s another man involved.  Though I don’t think Silver would ever cancel on plans for work, it’s the constant need to reject Jade’s proposed dates that irks him so, especially with another man involved.  And Silver’s not without his grievances either: catching wind of his boyfriend’s secretive business ventures from absolute strangers often leaves him feeling hurt and upset at the other.  In order to resolve these problems, the two of them must take the time to sit down and explicitly communicate with each other.
First of all, to address Jade’s jealousy, Silver has to recognize how it appears that he’s been prioritizing Malleus over him.  Luckily, once he does, there’s a simple enough fix—with the help of Lilia and Malleus, who readily agree with his decisions, they negotiate a work schedule for him that accommodates more of his social life; in turn, Jade promises to be more patient and understanding in the future.  However, I believe that Silver’s problems with Jade’s work would still remain a point of contention for a little while longer.  While Jade’s secrecy comes from a place of wanting to protect his boyfriend from the darker aspects of his job—in which clients often get violent and take whatever means necessary to exact revenge—rather than some manipulative ploy, Silver certainly doesn’t see it that way.  Because Jade won’t display his emotions, he can’t comprehend just how afraid the boy is to lose him over the less savory side of his personality... something that Jade struggles to admit even to himself.  It takes a bit of waiting for Jade to gather the courage to explain to Silver the true motives behind his actions, and a bit more for Silver to come to terms with this is a profession he isn’t willing to give up.  In the end, they must reach a mutual understanding of how Jade will keep his relationship and work life separate while Silver won’t interfere so long as he isn’t doing anything blatantly illegal or hurting himself.
Traveling in the same vein of thought about how everything isn’t always sunshine and rainbows... I think that the two of them have somewhat warped or unconventional views on relationships.  In the game, Jade and Floyd have hinted at coming from a family involved in some sort of shady activity... which has lead to the popular theory that their parents are fish mafioso.  This doesn’t necessarily indicate that they make an unhealthy pairing, per se, but I think it’s safe to assume that such a background does have some sort of noticeable effect on their bond; perhaps it manifests itself in an extreme level of overprotectiveness of each other, or perhaps they hardly interact at all.  Personally, I can see it going either way—and perhaps even both.  On the other hand, Silver has no basis for what a romantic relationship should look like whatsoever, as he’s never had anyone to show him such.  This means that he isn’t aware of how expressive he should be and what boundaries need to be drawn.  In a stroke of good fortune, however, neither are inherently bad people, so all it takes is a bit more of an effort to maintain a happy medium, along with a bit of input from some willing friends.
Alright, now onto some AU territory...!  I don't know if it's just me, but I think that this pairing would work so well in a historical setting.  Jade could be one of Prince Rielle’s advisors (along with Azul) whose work includes dealing with some of the more... questionable matters for the royal family, while Silver is, of course, one of Prince Malleus’ most trusted knights.  They meet when the two heirs decide to meet up one day to discuss an alliance between their respective countries.  As in canon, Jade finds Silver amusing at first and soon, they’re somehow always bumping into each other inside and outside of court.  However, as negotiations unexpectedly fall through, they quickly find themselves on opposite sides of the battlefield...
I also think that if placed in a modern-day college AU, Jade would fit perfectly as a TA, a position he earned thanks to his outstanding grades and performance in class from the previous year.  On the first day of the course, the student sleeping smack dab in the middle of the front row immediately catches his eye.  He recognizes him as Silver, their college’s infamously unintentional problem child.  Once realizing that the boy is quickly falling behind, courtesy of his unfortunate medical condition, he offers to tutor him on the side—this soon transforms into regular old coffee shop dates where studying is completely forgotten...
And, because I’m a total sucker for stories with darker themes and content, here’s a cliche zombie apocalypse AU for you: Prior to the outbreak of the virus, Jade worked as a renowned pharmacist for a major pharmaceutical company, while Silver was employed at a local security firm.  However, after one of Jade’s former coworkers fucks things up royally and their city is thrown into utter chaos, the two crash into each other while on the run.  Jade is heading for his company’s southern headquarters—where zombies still haven’t completely overrun things, as heat speeds up their decay—in order to aid them in the search for a cure; Silver, meanwhile, is heading for his family, who had been vacationing in the same general area.  Since their interests align, the two decide to pair up and fight against the rapidly mounting odds, during which they discover that they can really only trust each other...
...Okay, and I’ll stop things here before I start taking on more fanfic projects than I already have.  If anyone wants to actually write something based on these little tidbits, please send me a link!  I need to quench my thirst for JadeSil, as the brainrot never ends...
Side note: I wasn’t sure how to insert this anywhere in my headcanons, but I find it so cute that both of them have jewelry-related names.

Something I absolutely hate is how we as a fandom excuse AM and call him troubled and give him a redemption arc but then turn around and say we aren’t comfortable doing the same for Nimdok.
The only morally acceptable argument is to redeem neither because one made Auschwitz worse than it already was and another caused an apocalypse and killed all of humanity sparing the easiest to torture.
AM isn’t saw he’s not punishing people for their sins, although Nimdok outright states he deserves to be tortured, Ellen (our unproblematic fave) does not. Arguably neither does Ted (misogynistic con artist) and some would argue Gorrister (suicidally depressed abusive ex). Benny is an interesting case because despite being a murderer and possibly a cannibal we like him partially because he’s suffered the most and partially because he’s the only canonical LGBT character and this is tumblr. (I have seen ‘Benny did no wrong and is little gay soft boi’ posts so don’t tell me the sentiment doesn’t exist)
But listen Nimdok talks big game about how he’s irredeemable and frankly the man has a point. However the narrative goes out of its way to compare Nimdok and am and it is Nimdok’s knowledge that ultimately lets you defeat AM. It is he alone who is granted respite if he (shudders) does what am requests. With him puppeteering the replica of Mengele to tell Nimdok to join him. It is Nimdok alone who is only sneers when things go wrong instead of showing fear like the others.
Am/Ted shippers eat your heart out the one character Am explicitly compares himself to is the literal Nazi. Also AM and Nimdok are closest in age and both described as immortal decaying wrecks. But no tell me how he’s the murderous ancient supercomputer is most similar to the young skinny yuppie twink with too many sweaters. Sure, Jan.
This gets to the heart of the matter we make AM a sexyman and to do so you twist the character out of alignment. I don’t care how weird and campy he is that’s not an excuse to forget what he represents.
It’s pretty hypocritical to say you’re uncomfortable with Nimdok and what he represents but unironically want to redeem Am who is by his own admission is Nimdok but worse.
I’m not saying you can’t you can’t like AM. I love AM. I know the hate speech (no not like that Jan). I’m just sick to death of am redemption arc when the computer has done nothing to deserve one. Or romanticizing the relationship between AM and Ted. Stop it, show it as the abusive relationship it is.
Also I dare fanfic writers actually explore nimdok for once.

For the character ask game: tindawen (ssshhh I know it's not oc specific but like *grabby hands* tell me about her omg)
Aaaaaaah thank you so much for this!! Always down to talk about her!
1: sexuality headcanon
Bisexual, with some experience with men and women. Does not have any angst over her sexuality. 2: otp
I AM quite attached to her relationship with Caranthir in my head! Their marriage was very good in the years of the trees but now...she's having a little "I love you but you killed my people, sooo..." moment. They've been seperated since the flight of the Noldor, and she's making a pros and cons list for reconciliation in the fourth age. Pros: I still love him and that dick game Cons: everything else? 3: brotp
I can see her and Celebrimbor being friends, definitely! They can bond over poor taste in men. She also has fondness for Finarfin who escorted her to Tirion when his host turned back. And her fellow divers in Alqualonde are a cheerful and friendly group. 4: notp
As much as a threesome with the other Feanorian wives would be absolutely hilarious, Tindawen is too pure for Ruindis' special brand of toxicity. 5: first headcanon that pops into my head
She became a famous tragic figure in Middle Earth, despite never having set foot there herself. There's more than one water feature called "Tindawen's Tears" and if you were to see any art depicting a dark haired Teleri woman weeping at the First Kinslaying, you'd know immediately who you were looking at. Meanwhile, those who actually know her in Aman consider her a mostly upbeat and well-adjusted person- she's worked a lot on herself and her healing. 7: one way in which I relate to this character
I gave her my love of pink <33 8: thing that gives me second hand embarrassment about this character
She can be quite naive, especially prior to the darkening, and can't often tell when she's being made fun of ;_; 9: cinnamon roll or problematic fave?
My most unproblematic oc by a lot...

bubba/bugga, scoobert/boobert
my childhood dog, so he's more like a brother. he doesn't look (or act) his age most of the time and people tend to think he's much younger, but he's finally starting to get cataracts and his teeth have begun to be a problem (has had 10 teeth pulled, so he has a goofy smile and his tongue pokes out when he sleeps 🥺). he has next to zero drive but he likes food enough that we can still make obedience training fun. all in all, he's remarkably sound for a free dog.

Row-bow. The biggest hole in my wallet.
I love him sm, he's my world.
he and his brother were bottle fed neonates. rowan has so many problems. he can be an angry little demon with a serious lack of restraint, one might say he has obsessive-compulsive tendencies. he has pica (exploratory surgery nov 2019 at 6months, so so so many hairties and towels....), urinary issues (blocked july 2022), and aggression that he takes fluoxetine for. he requires extensive management, so i just say he's essentially a special needs cat. he's also my heart cat, love this little shithead

the unproblematic fave, the household favorite. so sweet and perfect, an absolute angel. very small and sickly as a kitten so we didn't think he'd make it, and is notably smaller than his brother. he has a little bit of a sensitive tummy (and he has to eat upright at a "table" or else he vomits). he desperately wants to go outside (they're strictly indoor cats), and is partially leash trained, so he explores the backyard every now and then.

got him from a convention, labeled as a 12-week-old male dumbo halfmoon imported from singapore. who really knows tho
i love his personality. i like to spoil him with a large variety of foods. he started out pure white but he's starting to change colors.
i had a mature 5.5 gallon planted shrimp tank that I wanted to do some population control on after an imposter shrimp made all the genetics in the tank go haywire. but he is a mediocre predator bc he gets the good stuff from me.

Hi! I don't want to start anything on here and am always willing for civil conversations. At this point there's so much I've found out about Seb (besides the video he liked, the tommy lee thing, and the girlfriend thing) that I feel so guilty if I would continue to support him. I love him sm but it just doesn't look good rn. He is associated/follows an organisation (for helping veterans) that has posted a blue lives matter flag picture and who's co-founder has sexual assault allegations against him, and worked with him in 'The last full measure'. His friend Paul Walter Hauser has done blackface in the past, and when called out on it he just listed a few people that also did blackface. There's more, I found a discussion on here that I can link. I seriously don't support "cancel culture" bc I don't think it helps anyone but there are just a lot of 'mistakes' and shady people that can be linked to Seb, I wish it wouldn't be that way. I honestly don't know what to think about it anymore.
Hi! I’m also open to having civil conversations and I don’t believe you’re trying to start anything. I really do think this situation of dragging up a four year old video and taking it completely out of context is harmful not just to Black people, but to fandom/activism in general. This is gonna be long because I’m going to take your points one by one, and I want to preface this by saying that I will not answer any derogatory, sideways asks pertaining to this subject. I will delete every single one and will block your silly ass. I’m not going to argue with people who think I’m blindly supporting Sebastian because I’m just trying to get fucked by him, or people who think I hate myself and am trying to appease some white man.
So, on with the discourse!
The video he liked - this video was taken completely out of context and that is my main issue with this whole situation. It was not a video of a white man saying that he thinks he should be able to say the n word as everyone claimed it was. They were quickly debating on whether or not it's okay to say in rap lyrics. He was told no, that's not okay, that's never okay and they moved on from it. That's it. End of story. That somehow was twisted into a click bait style headline of "Sebastian Stan likes a video of a white man defending his right to say the n word" when that is absolutely not true. My other issue is that people are more upset that Sebastian liked the video than they are about the white man in the video literally saying the n word. So, do you really care about the use of the n word like you're claiming? Cuz if you do, you'd be more upset at the white man that said the word than you would be about the white man simply liking the video. Or, are you just using this as an excuse to grandstand against a white man you don't like?
The Tommy Lee thing - Sebastian Stan playing Tommy Lee does not make Sebastian Stan a bad person. Is Charlize Theron a bad person for playing Aileen Wuornos, a prostitute who started murdering men? Is Leonardo DiCaprio a bad person for playing a slave owner? Is Edward Norton a bad person for playing a nazi sympathizing racist? Actors play bad people. That doesn't mean that they themselves are bad people. 1990's Tommy Lee was a bad person, but that should have no bearing on who Sebastian Stan is or his character as a man.
The gf/Paul Walter Hauser thing - Why are we holding Sebastian accountable for what the people around him are doing? Again, why are we more upset that Sebastian is associated with people who have done questionable things than the specific people themselves? I'm not going to speak on the kimono wearing -- I'm not Asian. It's not my place to say whether or not its offensive because it's not my culture, but she posted that picture and attended that party before she started dating Sebastian, quite possibly before she even knew him. Same with Paul. I think that black face thing was long before he knew Sebastian. Now, if Sebastian was defending these actions, going around saying "I think it's okay for white women to wear Kimono's" "I think black face is fine" "I think white people should be able to say the n word" then we'd have a different story, wouldn't we? But that's not what we have, and that's not what he is doing. He is not responsible for the things his friends do or have done in the past just because he's more famous than they are, and he is not required to speak on them. Let's put it this way -- would you be comfortable having to be responsible for something a friend of yours did before you knew them? Would you want to have to be forced to answer for your friend when you yourself had nothing to do with the questionable behavior?
The organization that supports the military/blue lives matter - Sebastian cannot control what message that foundation puts out and it does not mean that he is or is not pro-police himself. There is not enough concrete evidence -- if any evidence for that matter -- that Sebastian is a blue lives matter supporter. Did Sebastian donate before they put up the blue lives matter post? Or after? I don’t know, cuz I don’t follow him that closely, but if he donates before they come out with a particular stance, that means he should be held accountable for that? I know I donated to an organization once and they turned out to support something that i’m 100% against. That means I’m a bad person because I couldn’t see into the future? Another point, how can we be certain that Sebastian saw the blue lives matter post in the first place? I know I’m not online 24 hrs a day, I miss posts all the time and I’m just an average person. I make three or four tumblr posts a day, and I’m gone. I have to play catch up on social media, and even then, I still miss stuff. So I’m sure the same happens to a working actor. As for the co-founder, I don't know who this person is and would rather not get into any allegations against them because I don't want to trigger anyone who comes across this post. If Sebastian knows about these allegations, is a willing participant/supporter of this person then yeah, that's pretty shitty, but we don't know the inner workings of this friendship/acquaintance/work relationship. We don’t know how close they are or if they even still speak.
I’m a pretty big fan of Don Cheadle. He’s a stand up guy, he’s a great actor, he’s funny, he’s political and stands up for what he believes in and in a very public way. I support him. Don Cheadle is also friends with Chris Evans, RDJ, Mark Ruffalo, and Letitia Wright (just to name a few). Chris Evans has a bipartisan forum that highlights/promotes right wing politicians, RDJ defended Chris Pratt during the whole “he’s the worst Chris in Hollywood” crap, who’s technically done black face, and who once said to a female reporter “nice tits” when she walked into the room, Mark Ruffalo just walked back his support of Palestine, and Letitia Wright retweeted/supported an anti-vaxxer/anti-trans Pastor who equated an ingredient of the covid vaccine to the devil because it contained some parts of the word Lucifer. Does that mean Don is now a bad person because he’s friends with these people? Why isn’t he getting any heat for his friendships with them? Why isn’t he being held accountable for what they’ve done and said? Oh right, because he’s not a white fave. So people don’t care one way or the other, which brings me to my next point.
I can guarantee you that if Sebastian’s gf or Paul or this co-founder were not associated with Sebastian in any way, nobody would give a shit about her wearing a kimono, about Paul doing black face, or about the co-founder/organization being blue lives matter supporters and in that lies the actual problem. Being critical of people and their actions should be consistent and should happen all the time -- not just when they interact with your white fave. That’s when it becomes performative and looks like you just want to be able to show internet people that you follow/support/stan unproblematic celebrities, when really, you don’t care.
I think the moral of this post is that I think it's unfair to hold a complete stranger to a standard that I cannot hold myself to. I also don't view celebrities the way most teenagers/twenty somethings do, and that’s because when I entered fandom we didn't have social media, so I grew up with a wall between myself and said celebrities. There is no wall now with the presence of social media. "Fans" nowadays have a weird ownership feeling over celebrities because they can read their personal thoughts or view personal pictures and think that they have this personal quasi-friendship with them. I can't get on board with that. I prefer having the wall and I still keep the wall.
If supporting Sebastian makes you uncomfortable, then by all means, stop supporting him. Just make sure you are making this decision for yourself based on credible sources and concrete evidence and that you're not letting this fake woke activist mob make you feel uncomfortable. Internet activism means nothing unless you put your money where your mouth is in your real life and 90% of the social justice internet warriors do not. Real activism is bigger than changing your avi to a black square.

Style of gowns/outfits I think the Winx would wear to balls, red carpet events, galas, formal public appreances and other media heavy/important/noble people heavy events;
🔥Bloom🔥
Tumblr media
Bloom doesn't intentionally dress to stand out, she just happens to like loud bright colors and texture in her gowns. This might be an odd headcanon, but after watching the show I just got the biggest vibe that Bloom loves outfits with texture? And good for her. Bloom's dresses are probably chosen by Stella and Bloom picks out her favorite one for the first year or so, before she starts developing her own style. Bloom mostly wears wedges, but she wouldn't shy away from heels. Her jewelry is always a little less than it should be, but Bloom just seems like the type person who wouldn't like a lot jewelry. I think that she might a small love of like girlhood princess dresses, like the ones she used to see in her story books as a child. I just think she'd see a dress like her favorite story book character wore and jump at the chance to wear it, making her style look a little childish at times. Yes, this is my defense of the Eraklyon dress. It's ugly as sin, and I can definitely see Bloom absolutely loving it. Her style is a little removed from the type of events she's attending, but so inoffensive that no one really notices.
☀️Stella🌙
Tumblr media
I'm sure we all know Stella's style by now. Strappy, cut out, form fitting, attention grabbing, and always in season. Stella is obviously never seen in the same dress twice, and designs half of her dresses herself. She always attracts the most attention of the Winx bc duh. I think Solaria has different standards for dress compared to other places, so Stella isn't dressed at all provocatively for Solaria but she is for everywhere that isn't Solaria. But like? That's not stopping her from wearing what ever she looks best in. Despite how attention grabbing her usual outfits are she also knows how to tone it down when appropriate while still being eye catching. Stella absolutely sets fashion trends all over the universe, then sets a new one a month later. Definitely wears heels and impractical outfits because looking this good requires effort. Her jewelry is never overboard, bc she's the part of this ensemble that shines. Has a life time of media training and uses this and her provocative dress style to keep attention of her less media savvy friends. Hooks up all the girls with cute outfits when they have no clue what to wear. Slowly winning a contest with Tecna about who can wear the highest and skinniest heels without tripping.
💐Flora💐
Tumblr media
I think Flora values comfort the most out of the girls and has the most soft femme vibes. She definitely embraces her inner cottage core (my predictive text said lesbain...my phone ships Flora/Mirta) with her style. Her jewelry is much like Stella's, where its classy and understated. Probably gets accused of under dressing but since Flora is so subtly and terrifyingly passive aggressive when she feels like it that, when ever anyone tries to say something like that, they get politely verbally set on fire soon after. Flora gives big mature/older sister vibes, and these outfits extenuating these vibes. She still dresses cute, but her outfits wouldn't generally be out of place on someone more established than her. Also Flora is a huge wedges over heels girl, she just is. She kinda slips into the media as the unproblematic fave of the Winx Club. She's the least spoken about, but when she is spoken about it's always positive. Her style is unobtrusive, inoffensive, and doesnt demand attention. Just how she likes it. Flora is 100% not interested in entertaining people, seems exhausting. Being left alone during these events with an air of being "too mature" to engage in frivolous activities like small talk when in reality she's been day dreaming for the past hour suits her perfectly fine, thank you. She has no clue how Stella and Musa tolorate constantly dealing with people. She gets tired just watching them. Accidentally started a trend of super drapey outfits.
🧑‍💻Tecna🧑‍💻
Tumblr media
The s1 dress for the Alfea ball is when Tecna's formal wear fucking peaked. This one is super simple. Structure, structure, structure! The more uncomfortable and hard to get into the outfit looks the more correct it is. Either her outfits are completely symmetrical or they very obviously asymmetrical, and their are no in-betweens for her. Her style definitely deviates from Zenith "dress properly for the occasion" bc she starts picking things with a lot of personality that stand out. Definitely starts some trends. Tecna is such a diva and we should let her live her dreams of looking powerful and outstanding. Wears tall heels a lot like Stella exclusively because she loves them, terrifies everyone by maintaining perfect balance. Tecna also probably has the most out there jewelry, simply bc it adds to the divaness of her looks. She probably has more Zenith looks, that look super gender neutral and androgynous (bc that's how I imagine Zenith style), but it's mixed in with her more personal looks. You cannot convince me that Tecna doesn't come to love fashion, like yeah she doesn't care for the events, but she likes the energy that comes with these outfits. Definitely has designed a couple of her own dresses with Stella's help, and is ecstatic about them. Tecna and Stella make up the "over dressed" team and neither of them are sorry.
🎶Musa🎶
Tumblr media
These pictures aren't quite fancy enough but they have the right vibes so—Musa had such a distinct style in season one that she slowly lost over the course of the show, up untill the moment it was completely stolen in season four. Am I salty that Musa's season four outfit looks like something Stella would pick out for her? Forever and always. With my burning rage about Musa slowly losing her personality to look and act more like the rest of the girls in mind, I really wanted to keep Musa's old style in mind while also acknowledging her growing and changing. I think her arc was supposed to go from trying to be a "cool girl" and rejecting everything feminine to becoming more comfortable with herself and her femininity but honestly I wouldn't know. Musa would definitely stand out at any formal event, because by the time she's famous in post s3 she's become really confident and distinct and if you want her to show up somewhere you gotta accept how she dresses and that's that. Her style isn't exactly masculine but it isn't feminine either. Not in the gender neutral way I think Tecna would dress, but like in a blend of masculine and feminine fashion. She wears both flats and heels in equal measure, and tends to have some ultra fancy piercings going on instead of necklaces or rings. She definitely draws as much attention as Stella, but while Stella attracts attention for being the ideal of feminine beauty, Musa does the same for actively rejecting it. She definitely wears flats almost exclusively, not understanding why someone would tolorate that much pain for fashion. Probably gets a lot of shit for not dressing appropriately for the occasion but it's a part of her brand now and she refuses to stop.
🌊Aisha🌊
Tumblr media
This is definitely my own headcanons, but from the way Aisha was presented she gives the vibe that she had straight up run away, and s3 was the first time she had seen her parents in a while. I feel like Aisha's explicit hatred of rigidity and being stifled would make her biased to clothes that are comfortable and moveable. She'd go between outfits with big encompassing skirts and showing her legs because both give her sufficient leg room. Mermaid skirts, despite how thematic they are, are a complete no go. Absolutely never, she gets anxious of too constricted. If she can run in the dress without fear of tripping, it definitely gets plus points in her mind. On that note, definitely wears flats over heels as often as she can. Aisha at most might wear some big earrings, but she's not a fan of necklaces. She likes rings tho. Despite her insistence of dressing for practically and better moment, Aisha never gets shit about the way she dresses. This is mostly because despite how much she hated all of the rules of her child she remembers enough of them to bend them in the right places and never cause a scandal. Is always the perfect amount of dressy for an occasion, the other girls envy her ablity to remind a media darling without avoiding spotlight like Flora or spending so much time on public appreances like Stella.
🧚🧚‍♀️🧚‍♂️
🧙‍♀️🧙‍♀️🧙‍♀️
Bonus:
Gowns/outfits that the Trix would wear when crashing a formal event the Winx are at;
🌨️Icy🌨️
Tumblr media
Icy's fashion is as intimidating as she is. Structured shoulders, high necks, and floor length skirts are staples in her "I'm taking over the world" closet and she definitely wears big heel'd boots to match. She also owns a bunch of dresses with capes but she is stuck in the eternal struggle of only wearing capes in her witch forms to make them stand out for being her best looks, or wearing them 24/7 bc she's that bitch. She's having the same struggle about her hair her iconic pointy tail. Currently battling Tecna for "most Diva look". Tecna is winning. Big earrings and necklaces if her neckline allows is. Icy always dresses to steal the show. Every now and then a news site will try and stir up buzz and be controversial by saying she's a fashion icon, and this gives her 7 more years of youth. Walks like she's on a run way.
Darcy🖤
Tumblr media
Unlike Icy, Darcy doesn't care about her imagine all that much, and unlike Stormy, Darcy isn't super in love with a intense personal aesthetic. Darcy likes being comfortable and has an eye for fashion. Either dresses in fancy comfortable clothing if the event is smaller, or goes full Queen of Darkness if she's intent on making a statement. Goes a little intense with the jewelry, especially earrings and rings, though. She just kinda loves them, and they don't ruin the matching choker look her and the other Trix tend to have going on.
⚡Stormy⚡
Tumblr media
Stormy's normal outfit and witch outfit already give me party girl/baddie vibes and events like these are just a chance for her to go all in on her aesthetic. Idk how to describe Stormy's fashion outside of "I wear what ever I want and I'll good good doing it". Skirts are an absolute must, her legs will not be constricted. Absolutely the flashiest of the Trix and is unintentionally warring with Stella for the most eye catching outfit. Neither of them are winning. Has Aisha's distaste for constricting clothing and doesn't understand how Darcy actually likes mermaid dresses. Her heels are sharp enough to stab people with. As they should.

Talking about Encanto - Isabela
Took me watching the movie like five times to realize that Isabela is literally striking poses throughout the song scenes, long before the "perfect practiced poses" line of What Else Can I Do. Growing up into her role like this, it's no wonder she's so bitchy. And I'm not gonna sugarcoat this just because Isabela is one of my favorite characters - her behavior is awful. She's a snotty, arrogant, self-important spotlight hog, and a little too old to be such a brat, and I've admittedly fallen for it for a second there because it would really not be anything new for Disney to rely on the well-worn stereotype of the Alpha Bitch. That made all the rest of it a pleasant surprise, the sadness, the anger, the frustration. Like Luisa, Isabela has no way of expressing her negative emotions until bottling up doesn't work anymore, but where Luisa breaks down crying, Isabela just blows up. And I love it. Farewell, embodiment of soft lilac petal feminine perfection - greetings, prickly angry harpy shrieking for freedom.
Note: Harpy is absolutely meant as a compliment here; if I can embrace Pepa as an emotional, angry woman and find her great, why the heck shouldn't the same apply to Isabela?
And also, I don't take an issue with soft lilac and petal pink. I've just lowkey come to resent Isabela's representation in those colors all around. Because not only did Disney go and produce all those toys of her in that look, invalidating her character arc during the movie for the sake of their princess aesthetic for franchise purposes, the fandom also seems to have largely picked up on that...? I don't know; the vast majority of pics I see show Isabela like that. In pink and lilac, in her original dress or variations thereof, posing. A dress that, when compared to Mirabel's lovingly home-made outfit, looks way pristine and artificial, a dress that Isabela willfully ruined, poses she shredded with abandon. Hardly anyone seems to care for her new look that embraces her self-actualization, the colors that she prefers, the reckless and loud behavior she shows when she's happy. Eh, I like her being loud and wild and excited and happy, as far away as possible from the prim little Alma copy she used to be. Prickly, too. Man, I love the cacti.
Isabela has gotten an unfortunate spot as Abuela's fave, be that because she actually looks a lot like her grandmother or because, and I personally prefer that reading, she's the perfect eldest child's perfect eldest child. Of the triplets, Julieta was the one with the unproblematic gift with no possible negative effects, and her oldest kid grows flowers. That also plays in line with my initial reservations about Julieta feeling a bit like a maternal stereotype. Isabela's destined (albeit ultimately rejected) role being the flower fairy princess carries a similar notion of a feminine stereotype. As we see, not necessarily justified, as she can very much grow different flowers and plants than that of this scheme. She just obviously gets discouraged from doing so, see Abuela plucking the one flower out of her hair that doesn't match the color of the others. That's where the motive of toxic perfection really takes up steam, not with Bruno and Mirabel whose sort of gift or lack thereof has somewhat ostracized them from the internal system of the family. Isabela on the other hand stands centerstage in this family. On her, the high demands for flawless presentation reach their fullest extent.
That's what's causing the clash between her and Mirabel, both of them wanting what the other has, and resenting them for it - Mirabel wants to be valued and people (okay, mainly Alma, but also the townsfolk) having expectations of her, Isabela wants less attention and more freedom to just do whatever. There's a post out there theorizing that Isabela and Luisa might have tried to redirect the spotlight after Mirabel's failed ceremony to get their little sis away from unwanted attention. I don't know if that's all there is to it, but I also don't want to disregard the take. Because for all we know, despite the mutual envy and exasperation, the two sisters do not in fact hate each other. Both claim that Isabela does hate Mirabel, but while she's mean, she doesn't actually put her down in the same way Abuela does. She doesn't adress Mirabel's lack of a gift; so while there's a lot of vitriol between them, she doesn't actually hit her sister where it hurts, in stark contrast to Abuela whose talks with Mirabel constantly bring up her not being of use for the lack of a magical gift. She just generally tells her sister she's useless; yeah, she's still mean, but on a level that feels a bit more on equal terms. Mirabel is annoyed by Isabela, she doesn't look for her approval; so Isabela is not in a position to hurt her.
That's not to mean their relationship is healthy. They've taken very much to venting their frustrations about their individual sufferings on the respective other, most likely because their parents and Luisa are absolute sweethearts and are not in for a fight. Mirabel and Isa have a lot of temper between them, see Mirabel losing it when Bruno is like, "to save the family miracle, hug a sister", see also Isabela smugly riling Mirabel for an apology and then tossing her out via physical force. Amazingly, even in that situation, she's right about one thing: Isabela is not selfish. Oh, she likes to put herself centerstage, but up to What Else Can I Do, we have no idea what Isabela even wants because it's not like she would utter it. She can't even talk about herself or her would-be husband when talking about her own fucking proposal. Her marrying this one dude will be good for the town? Sure thing! Her making a grand entrance and spouting goddamn flowers everywhere will distract Pepa from freaking out? On it! Yes, I love her chance to grow and to say "I want" and to embrace herself. I'm basic; what do you want from me?
But, I've said that sometime before, what makes her song so special to me, and really differs it from Let It Go to which it's often compared, Isabela doesn't go through this change all by herself; it's nothing she's running away and hiding with. Her sister is right there, and it's the one family member she has the biggest beef with. But there's that very important tipping point in What Else Can I Do between Isabela having a realization about herself and Mirabel ignoring it because she's pushing her intention, and Mirabel sharing her sister's self-recognition and supporting her in the fullest. When she just doesn't care that she accused her sister of being selfish two minutes ago and understands that, yes, this one is about Isabela, and it's right and important. Goddamn, their relationship arc is simple in its implementation, but it's one of the best aspects of the movie.
And I wanna talk about romance one more time. The most popular take of the fandom seems to be reading Isabela as a lesbian and shipping her with some gal. Personally, I'm admittedly more prone to reading her as asexual, because when she reflects on the prophecy she got from Bruno, it doesn't contain a note on her love life at all and she focuses all on her personal development and abilities. But then, it's equally legit to say Isabela is into men indeed, there were just no sparks with Mariano specifically, so it's whatever to me. Let's talk about that last bit instead, the cancelled engagement.
Because with that, we loop right back into bottling up and the absent communication in this family. Abuela has no idea that Isabela doesn't want to marry Mariano. Neither do Isabela's parents, it seems, or Mirabel until she makes Isa flip a table. Dolores has no idea that Isabela doesn't want to have Mariano, and Isabela has no idea that the man she's about to get unwillingly stuck with for the rest of her life is the man of Dolores' dreams. Hell, Mariano himself doesn't know. And I doubt that anyone would have tried to push it if they had known. Alma is not a tyrant; her amazing lack of awareness is what causes her to put more and more pressure on her family. She wouldn't say, "Isabela, you have to marry Mariano". She says, "it will be so good for the family, for the Encanto" - and Isabela has internalized the happiness of the family in the abstract and the happiness of the town as an extension of that so hardcore that she doesn't see herself in a place to say she simply doesn't wanna do the thing.
So, yeah. Her breakthrough, her taking the initiative to get personal happiness out of her life? Makes me very happy. Good. Character.

Some of my fave Matt moments to celebrate the actual unproblematic king:
How absolutely shattered he looked when everyone found out Puck was actually the father of Quinn’s baby
When Rachel says she’s a better balladeer than Mercedes and Mercedes turns to them like “Balladeer??” and Matt is mouthing “I don’t know! I don’t know!”
When they get to do Hate On Me and they’re all excited and Matt and Kurt basically do the gay high five
I honestly don’t even know if there ARE other Matt moments but if you have one of your own to add...

Kanye West is My Problematic Fave
Can we separate our favorite works of art from the artists who created them?
I'll admit at the outset of this piece that I don't know the answer to this question. Over the last three years, one of my favorite musicians has put on that red hat, released a terrible record about a misogynistic religion, and stood between an unrepentant homophobe and accused domestic abuser on the porch of a replica of his mother's home at a third listening party for an album that seemed like it would never be released. What does that mean for our relationship with his work?
The common thread among my favorite musicians is theatrics - I love nothing more than discovering a universe of sound, concept, and drama in a piece of music. I loved the idea that Sufjan Stevens would release fifty state albums. One of my favorite records of all time is a concept album about the American civil war by Titus Andronicus. Lady Gaga won my heart when she bled out on stage at the 2009 VMAs as commentary on paparazzi culture. I've been a fan of Kanye West (which sometimes feels more like being a Kanye West apologist) since he turned near-universal vilification after interrupting Taylor Swift's award acceptance speech on that same night into one of the most artistically complete albums I know - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.
Although its artist remained polarizing, MBDTF achieved triumphant consensus among the public and critics alike. It topped best-of lists, produced the immortal singles "POWER" and "All Of the Lights", and earned a perfect 10 from the era's authority on "cool" music, Pitchfork (it also arguably set Pitchfork on the path to its fall from grace, but that's a whole other essay). The record is funny, sad, relatable, introspective, maximalist, and heavy on pop appeal. The Kanye West of MBDTF was disarmingly self aware. In lieu of apologetics, West invited us to experience his hedonistic, lush creative mind for an hour and eight minutes. He was unrepentantly an asshole, and reminded us that we all kind of were, too. He sold us darkness as an indulgence.
In addition to, or perhaps as a result of, being an incredible musical achievement, MBDTF gave West control over his public narrative. He'd been a talented, erratic figure in pop music for years, but with this crowning achievement he became the center of pop culture. He was no longer the egoistical Chicago producer with the backpack - he was the unconventional genius who had made one of the greatest hip hop records of all time. He moved into high art spaces, becoming a figure at fashion week, and ascended to the highest highs of celebrity, marrying one of the most famous women in the world. The public gave West a pass for his behavior because it seemed accessory to his brilliance.
The incident with Swift eventually began to take a backseat to West's music. In the years following the release of MBDTF, including the album cycle for Yeezus, his public persona was brash but ultimately benign. He declared himself a god, had some more close calls at awards shows, and liked some of the Gaga songs. He seemed to maintain control of his image, and his fans, including me, got used to defending him for his art.
Over time, possibly as West's mental health deteriorated, this showboating personality became an erratic one. He went through a MAGA phase, a cowboy phase, and ultimately a Jesus phase, each time expressing opinions that were difficult to rationalize with his prior moral alignment and unpopular among the young hip hop fans who hold him in high regard. It has gotten harder to be a fan. In an era where we've called into question whether a bad action can discredit someone's work, and sometimes find that to be justified, enjoying West's music makes me feel like I need to be ready to defend him as a person. I don't think I can in good faith. It's also hard to hang up my nostalgia for West's earlier work and my abiding adoration of his albums from the early 2010s.
The difficult thing about the case of Kanye West is that he has yet to cause material harm. He has come out with radioactively bad takes ("slavery was a choice"), aired his wife's dirty laundry in public, and associated with some of his more concretely morally delinquent peers. He hasn't, to the public's knowledge, hurt anyone. Engaging with West's work post-born-again-Christianity era might feel strange, but it isn't repugnant in the way that celebrating R. Kelly or Chris Brown is. Giving attention and accolades to someone with shitty opinions versus someone who has used their wealth and status to actively cause harm doesn't feel quite the same, and I don't think it should. Fans cling to this as evidence that we can separate West from his art, or perhaps that we don't need to. I have personally rationalized my support for West in this way.
I started this post intending to come to a different conclusion than the one I've come to since the release of Donda. I was going to talk about how our reactions to art aren't logical or rational, and how I think it's human nature to struggle with denying ourselves the things we love. Admittedly, I was writing this to defend my continued consumption of West's work to myself on the eve of the new record's release. I still think that reasoning holds, but I also think it applies to feeling betrayed by an artist and finding one's opinion of their art tainted as a result.
The Independent gave Donda a zero-star rating, citing accused intimate partner abuser Marilyn Manson and noted homophobe DaBaby's involvement with the record as an inexcusable flaw. This review has been derided to hell by the wider internet, and I don't disagree that perhaps it'd have been more professional to publish a refusal to review the album, but I also can't argue strongly in West's favor here. Even if his apparent statement of solidarity with Manson and DaBaby was an attempt at a demonstration of Christian forgiveness, it is a bad look for West to deliver that absolution without comment in a public platform. I was raised Catholic, and having to sit in that weird little confessional booth really drove home that Christian God expects repentance before he's granting anyone forgiveness. Forgiveness can be earned -- and there are many times when the public could stand to be a bit more merciful -- but it is certainly not given for free. Nobody is obligated to forgive Marilyn Manson, DaBaby, or Kanye West. If the album is unlistenable to someone in the context of their actions, that is a fair reaction.
For the record, I actually quite like Donda. I think it's a fine album and the rollout was entertaining. I also know its release was engineered for maximum shock value, and I don't like that Manson's alleged victims were collateral damage.
There's a shade of grey here that I think is often passed over when we talk about separating art and artists, a shade I think West actually leaned into perfectly in the lead up to MBDTF; the art we like can be taken in context of the things we don't like about it. Kanye West makes incredibly innovative music, and is also very difficult to defend as a public figure in good faith. Those two things have never been mutually exclusive, and synergism of the two is what has made West the cultural icon he is. We don't have to talk ourselves into things being unproblematic in order to like them, and it's okay to sit with unresolved discomfort about art.

Like do they assume I think Castro is an uwu unproblematic fave or something? No, I think Castro made a positive change for Cuba and for southern Africa but that doesn't mean I think he did nothing wrong. Everyone makes errors, some errors deeper and more drastic than others and I have many more critiques of Castro now than I did when I was a milquetoast lib.
Like I think Mugabe was yknow p good when it came to anti-imperialism but I'm not gonna be like "ZOMG MUGABE DID NOTHING WRONG WHATS A GUKURAHUNDI????" Same with Gadaffi. Even on the other hand I'm not gonna say people like Sankara, Lumumba or Machel are saints who've done nothing wrong either (lack of peoples power, used military to crush ethnic revolt, underestimated the damages of the war against Renamo and South Africa). Same with Bishop and Kaunda and Nyerere and Nkrumah. It's a real simple dialectical materialism (because my conceptualization of dialectics is simple), take the good with the bad and use both to understand how to build a better society. Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. We can even learn things from the... *sigh*... Khmer Rouge and how they absolutely fucked it, without relying on "this is evil!!!" Or "this is good!!!"

hey, it's been a while, hope you're doing fine!
your unproblematic faves in mc/mc:k and why?
mine from mc would be mihrunissa (she's the queen of s4, and also my 2nd favourite character from the franchise overall), cihangir (the king of s4), mehmet ( a non-existent character imo, was loving to everyone from what i could tell & was pretty so why not), nergissah (ik she didn't have much of a character but she was extremely loving, even towards mihrunissa who wasn't her biological mother, adored her relationship with mahi and she was the only family mahi had left after musti, nissa & mehmet died apart from fidan & yusuf), atmaca, yavuz, taslicali (musti's loyal friends; and i adored taslicali w/ mihrimah, the only guy i shipped her with tbh), and i guess that's it, i may be missing someone considering there were several characters.
from mc:k it would be geverhan (the queen of s2, i love her so much and she's my second most favourite character from the franchise overall, such a kind & sensitive soul, she truly deserved a better ending, i just wanted to see her happy), zulfiqar (one of the most loyal people in the entire franchise, deserved a better ending, dying in the place he spent his blood, sweat & tears was definitely a tragic death but also ties into his character, had a sweet relationship w/ humasah who also deserved a better ending), mustafa (my boy! he's just so adorable in the series, the baby & the adult, the joke he played on halime had me in tears, davut's reaction to him sending the table for a walk; i'm sorry but he was the mvp of s1 and deserved so much better than mu/rat killing him ((fuck mu/rat)) but i guess it's kinda cool that he got to sail a ship before dying considering he always loved ships? idk but he's just fantastic and such a cutie + the english subtitles w him were hilarious), and i guess that's it, most characters were kinda problematic in the series, even humasah who i adored but i definitely don't appreciate for trying to put iskender on the throne which would cause the death of kosem & her children. i would've added ibrahim, who i think is such a cutie and i don't understand any hate towards him; i understand the things he did in s2 ending were problematic but he was just having a severe mental breakdown and what he needed was therapy, not that turhande dethroning him. honestly, fuck mu/rat & turhande.
(also mustafa from mc though i don't think he would be considered unproblematic? )
sorry for the rant lol just, unproblematic faves are so good to talk about because you aren't conflicted with them like you are with characters such as hurrem, mahidevran, nurbanu, kosem, nigar, selim, bayezid, etc.
i hope you're having a great day!
Hey, I'm happy to see you back! 😻
We share a lot of unproblematic faves! I love almost everyone you mentioned!
In MC I love Mihrunnisa, because, as you said she's an absolute queen and the best match for Mustafa for me. She suits his level of maturity and they had a very deep, pure, truly genuine bond you didn't see with anyone else from his women. What's most unique about her character is that they didn't put any opposition around her, her story wasn't overshadowed by a love triangle and that helped the relationship between her and Mustafa shine all the more and we saw her have more agency as a character. Cihangir is such a cinnamon roll and cutie pie and yet he's so smart and perceptive of his surroundings. Neither his love for Mustafa, nor his deformity define him and I love what they did with him in the span of a little more than a half-season. Taşlicali, Atmaca and Yavuz are the best trio ever and I loved watching them in action. How loyal they were to Musti and how they wanted to protect him. 😍😍 I loved Taşlicali's moments with Mihrimah and Mahidevran as well as Mustafa, I loved how Atmaca put Rüstem in his place (we stan!) and Yavuz was so cool and they killed him too soon. We should've seen more of Nergisşah, tbh, but her relationship with Mahi is everything and like all of Mahidevran's relationships with the people she loves, she brought the best in her. And she also seemed like a loving and caring human being to everyone else she interacted with, too, she's just... lovely. Screw SS for marrying her off like that, this piece of trash should be killed with fire.
I would also add Helena to my list of unproblematic favourites, because, writing-wise, she's one of the better handlings of a tomboyish girl in the franchise, a mash-up of both Armin's plot and Aybige's character done much better. Yes, just like all the girls with tomboyish personalities (Aybige, Diana etc.), that trait of theirs was either diminished or gone, but with Helena the blow wasn't as hard as with the rest and you could definetly say that this is more a side of hers allowed to show from her completely new environment and is probably the one most restrained by it. The girl clearly deserved better than what they put her through and I loved how much she cherished her own freedom, rights and family. Her relationship with Rita was great, too.
I really want to say and Mustafa and Gülfem, as well, to be honest, because while they're flawed and far from perfect, they're overally consistently positive characters in the eyes of the narrative and their questionable actions aren't as drastic for me to put them in the "problematic" category.  I mean, compared to everyone else.... Okay, they still technically don't count, but I love both of them too much to refrain from mentioning them at least hehe 😅 Gülfem should've gotten much much more in the way of storylines of her own, but the moments where she shone really scream potential. She's such a loyal, patient and understanding person and her strenght to listen to other people's sorrows, be considerate of them and seemingly being able to forgive people because from whom she suffered (Mahidevran apparently) or made the people she loved suffer in a way and involving her in this, too (Hürrem), is extraordinary for me. And she tried to kill SS, about time someone did it, I stan, she left the show like a queen! And my adoration of Mustafa is pretty much endless, so I won't delve too deep into it. His relationship with his mother, his resilience, his intuition, his still firm hand contrasted to his loyalty to his father that crushed him, but I can't help but respect... yup.
For MCK I have the exact same favourites, as well, only I would add Meleksima, because she was pretty harmless, deserved better and loved Osman and their kids. Gevherhan is my favourite dynastic sultana in the whole franchise (followed by Hatice) and I love her selflessness and humanity. She subverted all the sultana tropes, basically, I don't recall a scene where she was ever elitist to someone below her, she didn't intrigue or scheme and she didn't have an agenda of her own. Her suicide was her breaking the ties she had with her environment and her deciding to finally be the selfish person for once, to do what she wanted, to decide her own destiny. Deserved to be happy with Silahtar more than anything else ever. Zulfikar was so understanding and noble, I'm surprised that the palace didn't devour him, his death was so heartwrenching. Mustafa is a precious bean that also got sucked by his own environment and by the horrible Fatih law and game of survival, his psyche was soo destroyed you can't help but feel sorry for him, at the very least. The same goes with Ibrahim who is also a product of his own environment and even the conflicts of his brothers, I get why he would turn his back on everything and everyone and fixate on the only thing that could bring him a bit of peace and escapism - his harem. He and Mustafa were put in roles they had no capacity to play anymore and I'm sobbing. And yes, Ibo didn't deserve to be so screwed over by Turhande, screw her and Murat. (and also Atike, what she did with her sister because of her selfish, unrequited love and she was told about it by Sil himself! was disgusting, interesting character, but so were Murat and SS and even Turhan in her thematic utility.)

i really didn't miss lucas nor peyton after they left. clay and quinn did a marvelous job filling in and i was way more invested in clinn then i ever was in l/yton
!!!! HARD AGREE!!!
look i stopped shipping lay chips around the time that they cheated on brooke (lucas as her bf, peyton as her best friend, AND DON’T GIVE ME SHIT ABOUT THE SEASON FOUR REVEAL OKAY WE ALL KNOW IT’S DIFFERENT) in what, season 1. ep 10? 11? peyton lying to brooke about her feelings over and over again, how tf is it supposed to be brooke’s fault that she believes her best friend and falls in love with this boy, even if he is whitebread trash she could do universes better than! watching puke ass not grow for six seasons had be tasting a mean ass way in my mouth. season 5 peyton pining after lucas is ooc i said what i said, i was relieved when they got together so that peyton could at least move forward with her life. (jeyton rights forever)
clay and quinn were solid characters that i LOVE. okay. period, love. clay had a interesting and fully fleshed past that i empathized with immediately. his devotion to being a good person in a business that isn’t and to nate is truly admirable. a goofball who can be serious at a moment when the occasion calls for it, who truly cares about his clients with a broken heart? absolutely.
and take quinn. my beautiful quinn james, connected to the main cast by her believably sisterhood with joy, and who i connected with the moment i heard about her husband. sometimes there isn’t a big, important reason, relationships just end. she was always herself and stuck fiercely to her beliefs, and had a pleasing lack of doubt in Who She Was, and i loved to see it.
with both of these characters i’m so grateful they were their own people, and made a beautiful couple. i call clinn my unproblematic faves because all the troubles in their relationship weren’t from their actions during the time they were together but from external factors they couldn’t control and they were almost 100% there for each other no matter what. quinn helped him heal from sarah’s death and learn to embrace truly living in a new way, especially later with logan, and clay let quinn be exactly who she was while giving her room to grow, and was also a huge support while/after quinn lost her mom.
long story short, i absolutely agree, and clinn rights.
(i don’t want to hear any shit about clay’s fugue son in season nine, I LOVE THAT PLOT TWIST AND HOW THEY BOTH HANDLED IT, QUINN ESPECIALLY, MADE ME LOVE THEM EVEN MORE.)
send me controversial opinions
