ok so first things first, fair warning: this is my own personal interpretation and it might not be a 100% correct, anyone is allowed to disagree!

another fair warning: I've only caught up with the english server so far so I haven't read the Ignihyde chapter yet, which means I still have a lot to see about Idia, but I don't wanna get spoilers so I'll be going with the knowledge I have from the main story, events and vignettes.

the thing with Idia is that, at a surface level, he's just another Gamer Nerd TM stereotype that's a shut-in with no friends nor social skill and yada yada, and that's what some people might take him for, especially at first glance. I've seen people saying he'd be those misogynistic gamers that have never seen a girl in his life or the ones that think you absolutely have to prove you know everything about a game to be a fan of it. and I know that's all in good fun of course but! I don't agree with it at all!

in my point of view, yes Idia is very introverted and reclusive and he's socially awkward, but that doesn't mean he's that stereotypical gamer, which is what makes him so interesting in the first place! he breaks those expectations you have for his character and shows a lot more depth than this label! I'm not saying he doesn't play into the role at all, but I think he's very well written to break some common patterns.

like! he's such a sweet older brother! he might love his games and his alone time and his room, but he loves Ortho more than those things and would go out of his comfort zone for him (like in the recent Wish Upon a Star event which is one of my favorites btw). he gets very talkative and almost sassy when speaking about something he likes! (like in Azul's school uniform vignette). and yes he can be selfish and headstrong and rude (like in the Ghost Bride event), as is expected for a student of NRC, but that doesn't eliminates his positive traits.

where am I going with this and how does it even ties into the question? it's because in those gamer stereotypes, you'd expect him to not know anything about afab people that isn't in one of his games and have no friends to tell him otherwise. but I think he (and most at NRC) is very educated and would know, you know, basic biology. plus I actually wasn't aware his family's company is about health (I thought it had smth to do with technology, since as I mentioned I haven't read the chapter yet), but since that's the case it's even one extra motive for him to know about it.

like, it's definetly not on top of his mind and he probably never has given it any thought but he does know, it's just not something he has do deal with on a daily basis.

TL;DR: I agree with you anon, Idia is very interesting and there's more than what meets the eye to him, so he doesn't fall into a clear cut stereotype that people often take him for!

Because I just thought of crack that might just end up taking over my blog built on the headcanon NRC has a broadcasting system(probably run by Idia? Or Ortho ig? Vil is a good candidate too tho):

The Prefect/Yuu has a broadcast named “Unique Magic: Listen Up.” where NRC students send in things they need advice for and then the Prefect and some other person(they would probably have special guests every now and then, most likely the dorm leaders) give them advice in the most blunt, honest way possible. And depending how stupid a question is, they talk some sense into the sender.

Everyone at NRC, yes, even the staff, find it hilarious to listen to some magicless human flame the sh-t out of their fellow schoolmates.

Like she transforms with a magical accessory, i just think it would be so funny while, in the middle of an overblot, reader’s like “oh, well ig this is where I come in!” And then just transforms. And because nobody knew she was a magical girl, they’re all staring in disbelief. Comedy + Fluff please <3

Ace screamed to you in deslief thinking in all the moments him, Deuce, Grim and you were in trouble and you just choose did this now, you started to give atacks of different elements fast so Riddle can focus on you while you said to your friend to atack him directly to finaly give a powerful atack fulled with magic directly to his heart.

You obviously go to comfort him after all that, he don't know if he was more stunned by all the overblot thing or the fact that you got magic power, a weapon and a whole outfit only by saying a phrase and the innocent looking rose in your hair

He didn't even care about the artificial bone that were in your collar

The maximun he cared about it was when hewas hugging you when going to take a nap and that was itching his chest

Ruggie was hurted and everyone was scared but you, you holded your collar tightly and putted it out, the fake bone converted in a beautiful trident and with a spin a gorgeus dress appeared on you instead of the simple school uniform "is that a trident?" Deuce asked like you didn't just transformed your whole outfit only because of an spin "So you think you're better than me?!" Leona said before trying to convert you into sand, well, this is gonna be hard to you.

You definetly got some injuries after that (probably because of trying to make you disapear)

He was curious about what the heck was that when you fighted him but was more worried about you goting injuried because of him and you hating him now.

He tried to hide how worried he was about you, he was feeling awful, his girlfriend, the person who love him not because of his status or anything to beneficiate herself injuried because of his anger.

Very most worried about what he has done to you more than the fact that aparently you had some type of magic that also changed your outfit, hair style and make up when you used it, there are most weird things here (Talking cat who breath fire) most probably waited for you to explain it.

Even whe he feeled suspicious he just thinked it was a pretty accesory.

Never really thinked so much about the apple brooch you had in your hair, probably most focused in you brushing your hair and using selfcare products correctly.

He didn't understand why you were so negative with not using it but eventually just helped you find clothes to match up with the brooch.

Everything was destroyed by his anger, his still gorgeus form floating above chaos, you tried to rasonate with him but nothing seemed to work "well, it looks like I have to go for the hard way" you said to yourself before touching the beautiful broosh two times and do a little dance, making a light purple smoke appears making you un-noticeable, students looking with a mix of confussion and fear because of the overblot. The smoke finally dissapeared after a few seconds letting everyone see you now with an purple and gold dress, a wand as beautiful as your dress being hold tightly by your hand, Vil's angry just growed by it "you dare to trying to look more fairiest than me?!" Vil screamed at you, maybe this was not the best moment to reveal it...

It was a hard fight, Vil's anger thinking you were trying to look better than him definetly difficulted more the fight.

But hey! You succesfuly winned and now you have to explain a few things to him.

Also you have to take beauty tips for not ruining your clothes while fighting, he was not gonna let you comfort him very much for a while.

Probably thinked the weird skull pin in your shirt was from some video game or anime.

Asked what was the name of the game or anime of your pin with that idea too.

Look the good part! You touched the pin and with a spin your uniform got transformed into lightly cyber themed clothes and blue tinted shades appeared, it wasn't the best for when you have to identify a color but you didn't have to do that now tho "Y/N don't touch the blue thing!" Ace yelled at you, dammit, you were already having problems with beating your boyfriend and this didn't help.

So... Uhm... This is awkward, you were comforting him while he was struggling with understanding what happened with you.

Still trying to understandt while you tried to communicate with him.

You finally could comfort him and got him venting after explaining how it worked all the magical girl thing.

Sebek with a bandage in his arm yelled at you, you had to explain to more than one person apparently.

It was very hard, you admmited it, you even got injuries because of the fight! Maybe you should keep putting that bandage in your leg, you don't wanted to clean blood after all that.

He already knew so he wasn't that surprised.

You had to listen and comfort him for like 2 hours after he screamed to you worried about if you were hurt only to him saying "you were gorgeus!" after crying in your shoulder for 1 hour straight.

"Wait, you knew?" "of course I knew! You're my girlfriend" you had more questions than him probably.

You probably had to sleep with him, he didn't want you to get more hurt while he wasn't at your side.

Riddle could sense something was wrong, but couldn’t figure out what. He noticed you were avoiding him, but once he did see you he noticed you flinching sometimes. 

When he could get caught up with you he had finally asked what was wrong when you finally told him what you were experiencing. 

He probably knew a little bit by his parents (forcing) teaching him about medical stuff. 

He probably would just be their to comfort you, and get you some medicine. 

Depending how long you would get it, he would give you the work you missed if you left class during the pain. 

And he was a little hurt you didnt tell him about it but it’s fine he there now. 

LEONA KINGSCHOLAR

Leona probably was sleeping when you first experienced it, but once he’s awake, boy is very observant. 

He probably wanted to nap with you but couldn’t find you, so he actually went up and tried looking for you. 

Once he did find you, his lion or animal reflexes ig just also sensed something was wrong, when he did ask though you just shrugged it off. 

However once he did figure it out, sorry Leona lovers but I feel like he would kinda shrug it off, and probably wouldn’t know what to do . 

I mean there’s nothing you can really do, so I guess he just sleeps (or sits) next to you and hope you feel better?

Azul was curious where you were, usually after classes you would come find him, yet you weren’t there, he think he hasn’t even saw you most of the day so now he’s really curious where you were. 

Once he does find you however he might’ve not noticed right away, but he does eventually. 

And once he asked what’s wrong you probably just brushed it off. 

However once he does find out, poor boy probably doesn’t even know what phantom pain even is so he probably has to research it or you tell him about it. 

Once he does find out however, he probably would do anything to make you feel comfortable, cook you food lend you a place at the Mostro. (You probably would find yourself in a contract with him about it after ngl.)

Wait there’s medicine that can help it? Count him in for the business side. 

He probably didnt act like he cared that you didn’t tell him, but in the inside he would be sad. 

KALIM AL ASIM

Let’s be honest, Kalim probably would not notice. 

You could probably easyily hide it from him, but let’s just say you told him when the pain got to much. 

Like Azul, he probably needed to get an explanation on what it was, but once he does find out he’ll probably spoiler you. 

You want that? He would get it for you, anything that makes you feel better!!

I feel like he would cry idk tho. 

He probably wouldn’t care you were hiding it from him ngl. 

VIL SCHOENHEIT

Vil probably thought something was wrong so he sent out Rook to find out lmao. 

After Rook came back and found out Vil immediately went to find you. And before you could even come up with an excuse he already knew what to do.

Since Idia games often he is very observant - when he’s not playing games. 

However if your both hanging out in his room, he will notice… eventually. 

And if Ortho was with you… then hiding the pain would be useless. Bro would literally just blurt out something like: are you feeling phantom pain rn prefect?

Bro would probably freak out but since Ortho was right there he would be able to find out what to do through him. 

He trying his best! So he might not be the best person when the phantom pain happens but he’s not the worst. 

MALLEUS DRACONIA 

I feel like this is a 50/50, Malleus knows what it is or doesn’t even know it. 

Where ever you meet, he can tell something’s wrong with his dragon or fae senses. So there’s like no point of hiding it. 

Like I said it’s a 50/50 so he might be the best at helping you or just doesn’t know until you explain to him. 

Probably would NOT leave your side until you assure him the pain went away!

And if Sebeks yelling is bothering you he’d probably tell him to shut up. (But in a very polite way.)
