It's been so many years but I can still hear a confused Kara half-gushing half-ranting about Lucy, commenting about how she smells good and she wants to date her, while her sister is having an existential crisis over her boss being an alien. I wish someone had told Kara it's not normal jealous heterosexual behavior to be attracted to your crush's ex.

I have been rewatching some CW shows (of the DC arrowverse), and I wanted to ask how do you think a Captain Marvel show would have been done? How would you have written it to match with the arrowverse energy or as it's own thing seperate from the other shows? I'm not sure if you've even watched the DC CW shows, but I honestly think a live action show would have been nice to see. Black Adam apparently exists in the CW, but by brief mentions of versions of his name and country only.

I used to watch the CW arrowverse shows for years until I fell very far behind and struggled to keep up with them all. I thoroughly enjoyed them even if their versions of the characters were very different from the comics.

If I were to put a Captain Marvel show in the arrowverse there would be a few different options.

Option 1: setting the show in the same universe as Supergirl. As a whole his character and brand of hero fits better in that world than in the main arrowverse world. It's also (generally speaking) often lighter in tone and would accommodate his fantastical adventures and cheerful attitude.

Option 2: setting it in the main arrowverse would, in my opinion, lend itself best to the New 52 version of the character. Billy as an angry runaway foster kid given powers he doesn't know how to use or control ends catching the attention of a lot of bad people. Maybe he's on his own at first and moves in with the Vasquez family as like a closure to his first character arc. Maybe the other heroes would think he's a metahuman and the Flash approaches him to help with his powers.

Option 3: bring him in via the Legends of Tomorrow crew. Fawcett City is trapped in a time bubble, forever living in a loop of 1940s Era life. The Legends essentially pop the bubble and drag all of Fawcett to the present. Billy has to adjust to the 21st century while being a hero.

Option 4: since the arrowverse dived headfirst into the multiverse, including traveling through it semi regularly, the connection could be via the fact that the Rock of Eternity is technically the center of the DC multiverse. Captain Marvel could be from any world in the multiverse, including his own, and be pulled in via one of the many crises and make friends with all the arrowverse heroes (before accidentally revealing his identity). Then like Supergirl he could have a self contained show that only crosses over when someone travels across worlds.

Thank you for this ask! It was a lot of fun to think of scenarios that would fit Billy and Cap into the established arrowverse. If anyone else has any ideas feel free to share them!

Absolute favorite ship: I have so many but for now I’ll ramble about Olicity.

Right from the beginning of Felicity joining John and Oliver (the coffee shop scene) where Oliver is trying to lie, trying to shield himself from the weight of the journal much like his father’s in Felicity’s hands.

I love how when she asks him if she can trust him and he says yes, because (as far as I know) he hadn’t done that since he got back to starling/star city. He hadn’t trusted himself OR let himself be trusted, he always managed to break that trust not long after in some self- destructive way.

But he didn’t with Felicity, he Didn’t lie. He didn’t self destruct. I might be wording that wrong or something but I hope you get what I’m saying lol.

Underrated Arrowverse ship: Merlance (e-1 laurel and e-1 Tommy.) Merlance, Merlance!!! I love them SO MUCH. Oh man, how Tommy’s last action was saving laurel, how he pulled a whole ass filing cabinet off of her.

His last action was saving the girl he loved. (Or at least one of his last actions.) I love how he goes out of his way to just take her on a date, how he respects her workaholic tendencies but doesn’t enable her to work herself into exhaustion/stress. I love how he was the first one to real see her as a hero.

And I love how she tries to get him to see the good in people but still respects his hesitatance. How she reassured him when he was nervous about asking Oliver for a job at Verdant, how she defended him against Quentin and (kind of) Malcolm.

Totems of Power - Supergirl season 6

I've been thinking about this for a while - pretty much since the last season of Supergirl aired as something just didn't sit right with me.

After Crisis on Infinite Earths merged the multiverse and the Paragons were revealed as "beings of the purest will" by the Monitor. then Supergirl season 6 introduced the All-Stone - a magic crystal that gives the user total control over all creation: energy, matter, magic, and even life and death.

Six of the Totems embody the same qualities as the Paragons that saved the multiverse from the Anti-Monitor Crisis. The sole exception is the Dream Totem, which replaces Honor.

To me - that can't be a coincidence.

Now - considering the Totems can be disguised as literally anything and that 6 of the totems match 6 of the Paragons (and we know the CW had to change plans following the Covid-19 Pandemic and filming schedules etc.) I was thinking it would make sense that the totems that matched the paragons either were drawn to each other or resemble each other in some way.

For example - Kate Kane is the Paragon of Courage. Red is a symbol of courage (a coincidence she chose that colour for Batwoman?). She is also canonically Jewish - so wouldn't it be cool if the Courage Totem manifested itself as a symbol she could relate to? Something like the Lion of Judah - which is a Jewish symbol of courage.

So - my question for you all- if the totems could be anything at all, what do you think they would be? Would they manifest to be close to their like Paragon? Would they be something completely individual?

next is krypto the superdog season 2, then we enter the dcuaom era wherein i will be watching a shit ton of solo animated movies with intermissions of teen titans go. overall its pretty fun so far! the worst things ive sat through are pretty minimal and far behind me (other than zack snyder. but he doesnt exist in my mind) - the millennium definitely upped the standards for bat content!!

I have thoughts about the little sister x big brother's best friend trope that my brain is too burned out from real life to write down, but I will some time soon, but until then it boils down to "big brother proxy" and the point is made I think.

I would love to hear your detailed thoughts, but I agree with what it boils down to.

There's a reason why it's a common trope in bro/sis fiction. It just seems to make sense.

Most fun example is Thea Queen crushing hard on Tommy Merlyn, her big brother's best friend, only for Tommy to turn out to also be her half-brother.

Axl and Sue from The Middle are also a great example. Sue had a crush on one of Axl's best friends, went on to date one of his other best friends, and then swung back around to the first one, and then married him, if I recall correctly. I'm pretty sure it started out as being mostly about Axl.

opinion? love it. barry being a nerd for ollie and his many vigilante codenames before he even knew the guy? barry finding out that asshole playboy famously saved from a shipwreck after a supposed 5 years on some fuckin island oliver queen is his hero? such a broken pedestal/death of a hero moment. and then this fucking dweeb oliver met once going into a coma? felicity and oliver quietly worrying about him? delicious. and then said dweeb gets superpowers and becomes a superhero right after waking up from the coma. what the fuck.

i mean, oliver is to thank for barry taking "the flash" as his name. oliver is to thank for barry becoming a superhero. oliver is to thank for barry being alive. oliver broke that pedestal and rebuilt it with his own two hands- bloody, damned hands- before barry's very eyes. they disagree, they fight, they butt heads, but they always believe in each other. barry sticks up for oliver, oliver sticks up for barry, so on and so forth.

oliver believes barry is 1/2 of "the best of us." whether oliver's talking about our arrowverse heroes or creatures in general is never established. oliver believes that barry can inspire things in a way he cannot. oliver believes in barry more than he believes in himself and because of that, barry trusts oliver with every cell in his body. because he's barry allen. and he's oliver queen. and that's all they need.

ok I've been reading comics for 5 ish years now and kara is one of my favorite characters probably ever, so I decided to watch the arrow verse cw supergirl and omg I the whole time I was like.. somethings off. This isnt kara. Then it hit me. literally kara in that TV is just a blonde female Clark Kent. She's a nerd who works for a news outlet who just can't stand up for herself :'( but Omg look wow she's Soo confident and cool as Supergirl!! Look at her go!

Idk man it's just so strange, because the girl on screens name is Kara and she looks like Kara. But babe. That is clark.

It's just so so disappointing because.. like. Kara is so cool and has an amazing and unique personality and I really wished we got a TV show about her, and not a weird female blonde Clark in dubiously 'feminist' show.

(This one isn’t really a headcannon) You know how Oliver thought Sara was dead when the boat went down then when they got separated again on the island? Sara thought Oliver was dead both times as well.

Sometimes when the league wasn’t watching, she’d find a way to Dance in her quarters, pretending like she was anywhere else.

A part of her hated herself for not coming back sooner because maybe she could’ve stopped the undertaking and Tommy’s death.

Scared of heights for a while after Thea kills her. She tries not to show it around her because she knows that Thea feels guilty about it. But she has Roy do roof patrol for a while.

Finds the nearest bottle of Vodka and drinks the whole thing after finding out Tommy died.

After Avalance gets together, Sara Doesn’t sleep in the same bed as Ava for a while, she always either slips out soon after Ava falls asleep because she can’t comprehend the fact that Ava loves her even after knowing all that she’s done. And she can’t shake how Ava is so gentle and how she touches Sara like she’s something precious. (This one is slight self projection.)
