Lois took the coffee, smiling politely at Wayne. She took a sip, bright red lips flashing into a smile.

“It’s delicious,” she said, handing it back to Wayne, “Thank you, Mr. Wayne.”

She wasn’t meeting Clark’s eyes. After a brief pause, her thumb pushed against the corner of her mouth, coming away a bright red.

“I’m so sorry,” she said to Wayne, apologetic, “I think I left some lipstick on the rim.”

“Did you?” Wayne asked, nonchalant.

The billionaire skimmed a finger around the lid, collecting the leftover lipstick and whipped cream. Bringing the reddened finger to his mouth, he sucked it between his teeth.

“You’re right,” he said, staring at Lois, “Delicious.”

For the first time in his life, Clark watched the unflappable Lois Lane blush a bright, surprised pink.

It's been so many years but I can still hear a confused Kara half-gushing half-ranting about Lucy, commenting about how she smells good and she wants to date her, while her sister is having an existential crisis over her boss being an alien. I wish someone had told Kara it's not normal jealous heterosexual behavior to be attracted to your crush's ex.

Obviously, karamel is OTP and always will be. However, I headcanon Kara as bi and enjoy reading fics for her femslash ships (with the exception of supercrap), so I thought it would be fun to rank them :)

A Few Quick Thoughts On the Superman/Lois Lane/Clark Kent "Love Triangle"

Warning: Slight use of sexual references below.

The nature of the usual Superman/Lois Lane/Clark Kent love triangle, especially the older and more iconic versions, is just so ingenious and definitely was top-notch for its time, avant-garde even.

Clark being made to feel small by being mocked by Lois for being a "loser", only for her to then turn around and unknowingly praise a different side of Clark, boosting his confidence again?

Damn, imagine what sort of emotion Clark must have been feeling. Like sharp pain combined with intense euphoria (and I guess jealousy too, as I've seen someone else mention). Is there a name for that?

I know some have argued in the past that it's sexist/misogynist and pointed out that the creators WERE Clark, more or less. Meaning they self-inserted on him and that he/Superman was their and male readers' "nerd power fantasy". I get that, really. But, well, a lot of characters (superhero or otherwise) are like that if we're being honest. Plus, I think the idea was super original, funny, cute and entertaining (blatantly abusive moments aside). Truly a perfect and extreme example of will-they-won't-they. That both Clark and Lois were often crappy to each other (Clark more than Lois) made it well-earned, too. There was nobody to feel sorry for! That's how I see it, anyway.

At the least, we need to acknowledge that what's going on in those moments is basically self-cuckoldry and some oddball form of praise kink. Clark was living out a sex fantasy right before our eyes on those pages/on screen. Does anyone else ever think long and hard about that? We need more fanfiction that focuses on this particular Superman kink, stat! (Also this is probably the only situation where I don't feel bad about Superman getting "cucked", tbh. Haha.)

My last poll wasn’t organized as well as it should have been. I got lazy and condensed way too many possibilities into the “Other” option. I know the primary reason why people voted that way but it still felt too chaotic. I tried to be more thorough this time around but I’m still sorry to the rarepairs I couldn’t include in a 12-answer max poll. I saw a handful of people mention some poly ships but unfortunately, I couldn’t include them either for the same reason. Similarly, I also eliminated the “show me the results” option. You want to see the results, you gotta vote lol.

BEFORE YOU COMMENT: Cat Grant isn’t included because I already know that she’s the second most popular Kara ship. I knew that even before my last attempt at a poll and probably shouldn’t have included her then, even as an “Other” option.
