I wouldn't say he has a bad temper. He's very well-practiced at self-control. However, there are certain things that set him off so severely, he throws self-control out the window. Those things aren't worthy of him trying to be "the bigger person." They deserve their ass handed to them right here right now (see: The Codes pre-current lore).

In a similar vein, when the situation isn't one of those special Fuck This incidences, he still doesn't have a temper, but when he finally snaps, he SNAPS. Like on a The Polycule be like "mark me down as scared and horny" level of snap. When you get on the Angel of Death's last fucking nerve he let's you KNOW.

I'm self-projecting here: this fucking idiot man has a detrimental habit of insisting on handling stuff like anxiety alone. He hates when people see him without his composure. It's not even like an embarrassing thing, it's just very uncomfortable to him. So when a panic attack hits or he finally concedes and let's himself cry, it's alone. And sometimes that makes it worse. I’m gonna make a bet and say that Dream and Punz — their final plan? It worked.

Evidence:

- Their plan to kill everyone? Yeah that was horseshit. They had so many chances to do just that, and they never did. They could have easily killed ClingyDuo at multiple points. Wilbur used his life as LEVERAGE against Dream, and it WORKED. It’s just Dream doing the same “pure evil” act he’s been doing for the past two years.

- That whole scene with Tommy and Tubbo in the room with the pressure plate? The “heroic death?” Also horseshit. They made that pressure plate out of wood. They pointedly gave them steak that they could use to trigger it. “We’re too evil to try it” is straight up bullcrap playing into that act again. They LEFT THE ROOM. There would have been so many better ways to test that if they really wanted to do so. It was just them putting on an act so that those two would feel like they escaped by the skin of their teeth. The Heroic Ending with the Disc Finale didn’t work, so maybe this would. (Also they straight up didn’t believe that Tubbo was dead when Tommy said that he was in that final stream. So.)

- Punz revealed himself WAY TOO QUICKLY. There was no reason for him not to just wait until ClingyDuo was gone before reviving Dream. It would have made things easier, even. Unless, of course, Dream’s revival (the only revival paired with the End portal opening sound btw) triggered something important and now it doesn’t matter because they have to move. That’s the only reason why he’d reasonably do something that reckless.

- They said that the server reset is their end goal. That is, like, the one part of that monologue that I actually think was true. DreamXD has already mentioned there being not enough death in Foolish’s stream, so we have more confirmation on that. And a server reset fits perfectly with Dream’s original desire for his happy family back — even if he forgot why he was so desperate to get that reset by the end. (Though it is interesting that he used the revive book so flippantly against Tommy in that final stream. Probably didn’t matter anymore, I guess.)

- Tommy found them in the main cell of the prison. Even Dream’s bedroom wasn’t in the main cell. They had no known reason for being in that room. The prison was made with a purpose and we already know that that cell held everything necessary for revival: I’ll bet it held everything necessary for finalizing their plan, too.

- Dream (or Punz, can’t remember which and it doesn’t matter anyway) told Tommy that “it’s too late” when Tommy said he was going to stop him from completing his plan. I’ll bet you that was literal. (Even “maybe it’s not too late” suggests that maybe they could reverse it, not that they didn’t put it into motion.)

- Nukes have gone off on the server before. Nukes have not reset the server when they did that. The nuke resetting the server doesn’t make sense.

- They didn’t go to limbo. If they died, they should have gone to limbo.

- cc!Tommy says that they will be calling the world-altering event “the Incident” — and not “the explosion” or anything similar.

- cc!Tubbo says that “the Incident” specifically refers to the white screen, and “that’s all [he’s] allowed to say.”

Conclusion: Dream and Punz finished their plan just as Tommy entered the room. It took a bit to actually work, but it managed to work just before the explosion from the nuke vaporized them all. Nobody remembers anything, and for all intents and purposes the original characters died when they lost all their memories — but Dream and Punz still won.

(I was right about the Staged Finale Theory with the discs, so admittedly I’m getting a little cocky now!)

its literally all based off his lore,, if you get close to obsidian and crying obsidian fallen down from Undertale starts playing, if you splash water on yourself 1) you get hurt 2) your screen blacks out and when it comes back, your in a different place than before, some things art taken, maybe a few extra things are added

and there's a 50% chance that when you go into your "enderwalk" state (the blackout) you blow something up, so there may or may not be an explosion somewhere nearby, you also have a 20% chance of building something small in you enderwalk state :)

if your way of learning is teaching then he'll gladly be the person you teach it to if you want! most likely won't use the information therefore his brain won't retain it but that's not on you, and the whole reason is so you can learn, not him, so! ^^

will make sure to take care of yourself, and he has a through way of telling if you have or not bc he's known you for long enough to know that even if you try to hide it a little bit of your tired voice shows so he knows if you've been sleeping like you should

also friends with you on discord, where you have your Spotify attached,, you like listening to music while you work on things that aren't sound related and if it's active later than it should be he's going to confront you

overall wholesome mixed in with a little pain bc both of you are like "ah yes, lore <3" and like to see fans cry /lh

Dream SMP fandom etiquette

So. This post is probably too little, too late, considering the fandom and the issues I'm about to talk about have existed for so long now, and a lot of the people who need to hear this probably aren't on tumblr anyways, but I just wanted to dedicate a quick post to talk about fandom etiquette. Mostly pertaining to discourse, and interactions with people outside of our circle. These are just going to be my own personal thoughts, of course, but I felt it could be good to bring some of this to attention. So without further introduction:

Where to (not) talk about discourse:

Don't go into other streamer's vods to only focus about a different character. If you want to analyse, for example, c!Techno, do it in Techno's stream. Don't go into unrelated streams, like Tommy's, Tubbo's etc. to do it, even if they were a part of the event in question. This is, of course, with the exception if the character in question didn't stream their own pov. But otherwise, stay in your own space. This is to prevent cluttering a streamer's comments about unrelated discussion. To give further example: Tubbo's vod comments should primarily focus on Tubbo's character. Not Tommy's, Ranboo's, Techno's or whoever else's.

Don't start discourse in the comments of animatics. Seriously, stop that. Animatics aren't discussion boards. The comments are there to analyse and appreciate the video presented, not argue. It's especially rude if you pick a small detail, that wasn't even the focus of the animatic, or even a completely unrelated issue to rant out your frustrations about. To give examples: starting disc discourse in an animatic of Tommy talking to Wilbur, or rambling about how tragic Techno's character is in an animatic focused on clingy duo, etc.

This applies to fan songs as well.

Video essays are the exception to these rules. I think it's safe to say they're the place to bring your hot takes, if you really feel so inclined to argue in youtube comment sections (Though I'd personally advise to still keep the topic relevant).

Keep negativity out of fanfic comments. This isn't nearly as big of an issue as the last points, but I've seen it happen a couple times, so I'm deciding to mention it. Fanfics are written for fun. Even if you disagree with the characterisation or something else, unless the author is clear in accepting critique, keep criticism to yourself. And definitely don't rant about how you dislike a character unrelated to the fanfic. Sharing your thoughts on the fanfic itself is of course fine and welcomed, but when it turns from discussing the author's story to talking about how you dislike a character in canon, that's when it crosses a line. Example: comment talking about what you don't like about c!Tommy on a Bench Trio fanfiction.

When commenting on art, keep the feedback positive. Even if you dislike any presented character, keep that to yourself. Example: Don't say things like "I hate x character, but this art is good". You might think the author would feel honoured, but it's actually just hurtful.

How to deal with discourse:

This is gonna be a shorter section, because I think we all chose to do it in different ways, and that's valid. Also, it's just that I, myself, am still learning how to do this well, but I thought it could be good to try to lay it out anyways.

Try to scroll past takes you disagree with instead of arguing if you don't think you'd be able to keep your cool. Noone likes a random person yelling at them through a screen, and if you rant, you'll get an equally frustrated reply back, and noone will be happy. Either explain your point in a calm manner, or scroll past/ unfollow/block.

On the keeping cool thing, remember to just step away. Take a deep breath and calm yourself down before proceeding. To minimize the frustration you feel on a daily basis, filter tags, block people, avoid videos and youtube comment sections that you know will upset you, and leave certain internet spaces if you find yourself unable to escape negativity even with all those steps. Remember: in the end, it's all a game played by friends, a story, and your enjoyment of it lies in what you take from it. Abandon what makes you unhappy. Marie Kondo your fandom experience.

Also, here's your reminder, to whom this is relevant, to take care of yourself. Hydrate, eat, sleep, clean up, get fresh air, remember the things outside of all this. There's plenty to do outside of this fandom, and what you can do here can wait. There is no pressure, or obligation. Not for the content you create, not for the discussions you bring, not for responding to discourse, not for anything. Fandom is meant purely for fun, so take care <3

Interacting with people outside of the fandom:

This is something that I've seen a bit of talk about, and I thought I'd drop in my own thoughts on this as well. No matter the differences, we're all just trying to vibe, and I think these are important things to keep in mind to leave both sides better off:

Don't interact with hate posts. Just don't. You don't want to see them, they don't want to see you. Even if your response is lighthearted, their animosity is not. They will feel frustrated regardless, and the grudge will only grow. And if they're being agressive, calm discussion most likely won't happen even if you're being polite. Just leave it, please.

Correct misinformation calmly. I completely get how it can be frustrating to see blatant lies and all, but with our reputation, people will not listen if you're being antagonistic. Provide sources, explain, and leave it at that.

Don't be hateful, send death threats, or assume privilege or whatever else. That's stepping into the same shoes of the people you hate. Misunderstandings go both ways, and the fact of the matter is, I think most people who dislike DSMP, even the ones who are agressive about it, don't have their stance rooted in maliciousness. To expand on why the situation became what it is today, taken from a discussion on discord:

I think it's just a combination of Dream growing so insanely quickly + how internet spaces have changed over the years. When ccs like jackstepticeye or pewdiepie etc. grew popular, activism wasn't as prevalent and held to such importance. Now it's thankfully more talked about, but that also leads to Dream being more scrutinized in comparision. Add twitter trends and the general prevalence of the fandom, and you've got everyone feeling tired and frustrated and paranoid. People also tend not to fact check stuff, especially when it comes to celebrities and stuff they're not really interested in, so rumors spread fast.

And actually, I think there's absolutely valid reasons to be made uncomfortable by Dream SMP, either in it's creators, content or fandom, and there is, of course, stuff to criticise in general. The problem is the hate and misinformation and overexposure, but we are not going to solve any of that by being aggressive in return.

(This is, by the way, not talking about more serious cases. Like doxxing, or leaving gore images in hashtags, or similar instances. That's a whole different complicated issue that I don't feel qualified to tackle.)

And finally, don't overwhelm outsiders who merely mention the Dream SMP. Don't send asks asking them to watch it, don't write paragraphs explaining the lore, don't confuse them with inside jokes, just... Don't jump on people like that. Unless they're explicitly clear in wanting interaction and getting into the fandom, that kind of thing will just drive them away. This is in no way exclusive to the Dream SMP fandom, pretty much every fandom has people enthiastic to have more people involved, but since there are so unbelievably many of us, it's especially easy to go overboard with this stuff. Just... be polite, and don't pressure anyone. Be nice, please.

I really liked Wilbur's lore stream from yesterday, so you guys are getting a short stream analysis from me

As always dialogue is color-coded: Wilbur, Tubbo, Ranboo

And since I'm the least concise person ever everything is under the cut

The stream is (DSMP LORE) A Year Later

The stream starts with Wilbur singing the L'Manburg anthem to Ranboo. It is interesting to notice that, just like all the streams since he's been back he doesn't start off the stream by addressing chat in any way but already taking with someone in-universe.

"I'm a big big fan of the song (...) (Wilbur notices that Ranboo was muted) so sorry, let's try again: have you heard that song before?" "Yeah I have, I have. I have- I've had a friend that sings it quite a lot" “Good, good, and I was gonna say, it’s obviously based on Hallelujah right? But the thing is, the thing is Ranboo, right? But the thing is- the thing is Ranboo, right? Is that the reason we did it is because Tommy used to sing Hallelujah to the plants" "Oh, to the plants?" "Yeah! In- in the- around the- around the uhm... around the thing! You know the- the caravan? (...) so, my man, Tommy used to sing to the plants to make them grow better and that was the song he used to sing and so I thought what a way to honour Tommy, you know, one of the most- one of the most loyal members or of our fair nation than by naming the song after him, you know? And singing it based on his little- his little Muse. Tommy is a- Tommy is all of our Muse really I'd say"

I cut as much of this quote as I could while still leaving it well understandable and leaving in everything I wanted to talk about, but man is it long... So let's break it down a bit at a time:

1) The friend that Ranboo referenced that sings the anthem a lot is most likely Tubbo considering that they met him later on in this stream while he was singing that very song

2) The memory of the song seems to still be a particularly pleasant one for Wilbur, which probably explains why Ghostbur as well was so fond of it. He speaks about it positively throughout and it generally seems like an overall positive moment of reminiscence, probably because it's a callback to a simpler time when Wilbur too was, you know, happier overall. It's a reminder of a time before the worsening of his spiral.

3) Also interesting that they kept it in canon that Tommy singing to the plants was what inspired the anthem. Especially because I'm not entirely sure if that's the case considering that the actual anthem wasn't written by cc!Wilbur but by a fan upon his request (obviously this is outside the story).

4) Last thing I wanted to mention was Wilbur describing Tommy as a Muse. Muses in mythology are the inspirational goddesses of the arts, music, and science, Tommy aside from the anthem obviously isn't that. But it is interesting that Tommy does take a central role when it comes to motivating people. We could say that Techno's speech on the 16th was inspired by him since it was directed at him. Similarly, Niki and Jack had their arcs revolving around him. Tommy was able to rally the troops with ease multiple times. And Dream's obsession with him itself is the main motivator for, like, 90% of his actions. So, while he may not cover the role of a muse literally it's not a comparison that is too far off...

They headed to the museum afterward and took notice of the Ranboo poster being missing. And then they headed off to L'Manburg (which, by the way, looks amazing, thank you cc!Phil for that one).

"It goes by L'Manhole now apparently" "I- yeah it's kinda- ugh- I'm not a fan. It's kinda rude to L'Manburg's history, you know? It- it's called L'Manburg. It's called L'Manburg. NOT Manberg, not L'Crater or whatever. L'Manhole, I don't care, it's now L'Manburg, it's always L'Manburg, okay?"

It's interesting that not too long ago he was saying that even L'Manburg itself (with an emphasis on the name) wasn't what was actually important, the purpose of it was. He admits later on that he lied in that conversation, but it's impressive how quickly he trusted Ranboo enough to let him see how much he still cared about L'Manburg when he was so intent on lying about it not too long ago.

Wilbur's enthusiasm about seeing the flag is another nice confirmation about him still caring deeply for his old nation.

"Damn, I really went down to bedrock, didn't I? Holy shit I did- I did a number on this place" (I wonder why Ranboo didn't correct him on this, because Ranboo knows that Techno, Phil, and Dream are the ones who actually exploded the country down to bedrock...)

They end up seeing Tubbo on the other side of the crater and head over to him. While they're heading there Tubbo is singing the anthem himself in a very mournful tone.

One interesting thing that I noticed it's that it's Wilbur that heads towards Tubbo's location instead of having Tubbo go to him like he mostly did with Tommy for example. I suppose it could be because Tubbo having been a president himself is in less of a subordinate position to Wilbur than Tommy who's always been a simple soldier.

"It's like looking in a little mirror, look you're wearing my suit still? How long have you been wearing that?" "Oh I just put it on, just for today" (in a similar fashion to Jack bringing out the L'Manburg uniform to reminisce, Tubbo also brought out clothes he strongly attaches the memory of L'Manburg to)

"Ranboo have you met Tubbo?" "Yeah, yeah. I've- I've met him, I mean we've, uhm... we've been around" (Ranboo still minimizing his relationship with Tubbo to Wilbur. Of course, this is because he doesn't trust him but it's interesting that he isn't even honest about that)

After a bit of back and forth, Wilbur starts apologizing to Tubbo. At first, like most other times he's having a serious discussion he puts himself in an elevated position to tower over Tubbo. It's a neat way to show how his own desire for control affects him, having Wilbur literally elevate himself over others when speaking to them. Literally putting Tubbo down in this situation. Which does make the beginning of his apology very obviously feel insincere.

"I'm sorry for making you president specifically before blowing it up and I'm sorry for when I did this *pointing at the crater* and blew all this up and making this whole. I'm sorry that I uh- that I said that you were the president of a crater"

This is that first part of the apology I mentioned. Just to clarify, I don't actually think that it was entirely insincere. It just feels less impactful due to Wilbur putting himself in a position of superiority over Tubbo, especially because it's something we've seen him do before. It's also to be noted that this time, like others before, he seems to be apologizing less out of actual guilt and more out of a desire to earn forgiveness. Which is not a critique by the way. I just feel like that's a misconception Wilbur has, that apologies serve the purpose of confirming to him that he's doing a good job at changing more than to actually make amends for what he's done. The reason why I think that's the case for the beginning part of this apology as well it's because of how fast he went to ask tubbo if he forgave him, which did put a certain level of pressure on Tubbo in this situation.

"I mean it wasn't- this wasn't all you Wilbur" (thank you tubbo for finally dispelling some of those misunderstandings)

"Yeah so me and mainly Ghostbur honestly, like-" "Ghostbur" (some more of Wilbur not being too fond of Ghostbur)

"Right is he [Ghostbur] this obsidian crap then I take it and these- these fucking dumb lanterns up here" (a bit more)

To correct Wilbur's misconceptions Tubbo starts off asking if the other knew Dream, to which Wilbur responds with how much he appreciates Dream and how he's his hero, which makes Tubbo backtrack and blames most of Doomsday on Techno and Phil. Which, as we know, isn't actually accurate and I have a feeling that this misinformation will be harmful later on once Dream is out of prison (though I don't blame Tubbo for backtracking with how enthusiastic Wilbur is, that was the basic conflict-avoidant approach that Tubbo seems to prefer).

"They rained tnt for days" (if this is actually canon then Doomsday was even more of a tragedy than we previously saw it as. It was days filled with fighting and destruction. Then again, Tubbo has misremembered traumatizing events before)

"Techno and Phil, they hated the government. I mean it was partially my fault as well" "But you didn't blow it up" "No I didn't. I would never have wished or anything like this to happen" "So it was just Techno and Phil?" *long pause* "Y-yeees"

Two things to say here:

1) I appreciate someone in canon recognizing that it's not Tubbo's fault for what happened to L'Manburg and blaming the people who actually blew it up, similarly to how I appreciate Wilbur bringing up with Tommy that it was clearly Dream pulling the strings with his exile with Tubbo. It's nice having it stated plainly for people to hear

2) This is the misconception I mentioned. This is most certainly gonna backfire at some point.

After that Wilbur commends Tubbo quite a lot for rebuilding New L'Manburg (once again being dismissive towards Ghostbur) and is clearly enthusiastic about it, even going as far as to say that that mattered more to him than them building him a grave.

"I just, I feel lost without L'Manburg. All my core beliefs, everything died with it" "You feel lost without a nation..." "I have no purpose anymore" "I guess that's where anarchy fails" (I think this may be the first time someone admits it to someone else, even though that lack of purpose and feeling disoriented is very obviously a shared sentiment amongst the ex-citizens)

After that, it's when Wilbur invites Tubbo to join Paradise, the, supposedly burger van with a small house attached to it that wasn't supposed to become a nation. I have a feeling that the proposition coming right after that exchange may imply that Wilbur changed his mind on it. He does purposefully put himself again in an elevated position when making the proposition.

"Would you like to come join me in Paradise? Literally" "Hmmm, I'm not sure Wilbur. I'm not sure I trust you man, I need to- in order to follow someone I need to trust them" "Wait, wait but you- I thought you forgave me! I thought it was, you know it-" "Wilbur I forgive you because I like to hang on to the hope that people can change, but-"

This is what I mean when I say that Wilbur's apologies come with expectations for the person he's apologizing to. By asking Tubbo first if he forgave him when he originally apologized, he already made it harder for Tubbo to refute that. And now we learn that he expected trust to come along with forgiveness. He's not doing this maliciously of course, but he does seem to have some misconceptions on this.

"I know you had that- that at the festival? With Technoblade? I never spoke to you properly about this. I- I could have saved you" "But you didn't" (other people brought this up, but this is a neat little parallel to the one scene in exile where Ranboo was lamenting about how he should have gone with Tommy and Tommy shut him down pointing out that anyone could have gone but no one actually did)

There is a second round of apologies and Wilbur is still standing higher than Tubbo, BUT he does put himself on his same level after he did a bit more pushing and found that Tubbo was standing his ground. He finally puts himself on the same level as Tubbo and openly acknowledges his boundaries which is the first actual real effort to change that we've seen from Wilbur. Which I'd say is a pretty important step for him.

"Wilbur in order for you to gain my trust back you have to prove it, I can't just give it out anymore. I used to be able to but I just- I just can't" (acknowledgement of how Tubbo's trauma also affected him deeply)

"You know I still have dreams, right? Of the explosion. And- and of the fireworks. And- and all of it. I- I still- I vividly see all of it. Every day. It hurts. It hurts a lot Wilbur"

I want to commend Tubbo here for being able to open up like this, especially considering how much he generally leans into denial and how much he usually suppress. And on top of that this is Tubbo acknowledging that both Wilbur's actions (the explosion) and Techno's actions (the fireworks) have hurt him and STILL hurt him and affect him deeply. It's quite a big admission especially for him.

"Sorry feels like such a weak word. I feel like there's nothing stronger that I can say" (first time that he's standing on the same level of Tubbo while apologizing)

"You're so strong man. Genuinely. You just- just the fact that you proved to me just there that you have this memories, that you have this nightmares and you still find it in your heart to forgive me. That's... you're a fucking champion man. You- you're a hero"

It's interesting that the reason why he claims Tubbo to be strong here is because he forgave him. It's not something that's inherently about Tubbo, like the fact that he still found the strength to go on and rebuild after the events he mentioned, for example, no. What Wilbur brought up is the one thing that Tubbo did for him. Which tells me that he still clearly has a bit of way to go to learn how to make amends and how redemption actually works, but, you know, that's to be expected honestly.

Wilbur moves on by inviting Tubbo to at least come and see Paradise, just to see what they'd made and Tubbo refuses because he wanted to spend more time reminiscing. Wilbur this time respect Tubbo's boundaries with no pushing which is yet another step forward for him honestly. Wilbur also gives Tubbo a "lucky rabbit's foot" that Tommy gave him to cheer him up and assure him that he had no problems with him not going.

With this their conversation comes to a close and Wilbur and Ranboo head over to Paradise (though not before Ranboo has confirmed with Tubbo that he actually does want to be left alone).

"You know I was gonna say 'this is hard' but obviously it's hard. I mean, you know, I've..." (a bit of reflection on his actions for Wilbur, you love to see it!)

"It's gonna get better! It's gonna get better! And it's gonna be worth it when I see them smiling. All of them. Tubbo, Jack, Niki, Tommy, anyone!" (I'm pretty sure that this is a genuine sentiment right here. It really does seem that wilbur's Big Plan right now is just to make amends and change)

"Do you know who the original L'Manburg group were? Do you know who we were?" "I- I think most of them yeah... I think it was like: you, Jack, Niki, Fundy I believe as well" "Fundy was a bit after. Fundy was after we'd gotten independence"

I wonder if that's an actual misrememberance on Wilbur's part (c!Wilbur, not cc!Wilbur, I'm sure cc!Wilbur remembers this) or just him wanting to put some distance between his good memories of L'Manburg and Fundy. Because Jack and Niki weren't there for the independence war either and yet he singled out Fundy who was. And I doubt that he'd forget about his son being one of the people who lost their first life in the final control room. In addition to that Wilbur didn't mention Fundy before among those he wanted to make smile.

I really think that this was intentional and that it was because, well, Wilbur felt deeply betrayed by Fundy. And we as the audience know that Fundy only ever publicly stopped acknowledging him as his father to be able to stay undercover as a spy, but he doesn't. It wouldn't be so weird that he wanted to erase Fundy from his memories of the time when he was supposed to be happy.

"I try and keep this on the low because I don't want uh- I don't want people to use it against me is the main problem. I do wa- I didn't even tell Tommy, I lied to Tommy" "Yeah?" "I'll be honest I'm gonna tell him soon that I lied to him because if it- it kinda eats away at me. Once again I'm surprised how little it took Wilbur to trust Ranboo with stuff he hasn't really told anyone else. Makes you really understand how low of an opinion of himself he has that when the first person that calls him "alright" out loud just gets his undying trust. Especially considering that Ranboo doesn't trust him back and hasn't been the most honset with him so far. It's also a nice spelled out admission for anyone who didn't get how much Wilbur cares about L'Manburg from the longing look he gave to the camaravan's replica in the stream where he said he never cared.

"I wanted history to live on, not as a stain caused by me, you know. I basically took a big shit on the history books it feels like" (just another interesting little insight on Wilbur's view of the situation)

"I've heard about what's Tommy's, you know, moved on... and how jack's moved on, and how Niki's moved on and everyone's moved on from L'Manburg at least partially, but Tubbo man, he's still..." (he only thinks the rest of them moved on because he hasn't spoken almost at all with two of them and he never really listened to Tommy. Also, again, Fundy is not mentioned)

"I don't know where I'd be without you [Ranboo] here right now man, I mean T-Tommy's great and all and he's here but I- I feel like, you know, I don't wanna- I don't wanna string him along too much because he's- I- when I look at him. When I look at him when he's helping me out building things with me I see the same eyes that looked at me when... when... There were some- there weren't some fun times in the ravine of Pogtopia. I wasn't a very well man and I can just see Tommy from that day"

This one was one heck of a confession!

I don't know if this is me misremembering, but I'm fairly sure that this is the first time he's admitted to not being great to Tommy specifically. Again, Tommy is the one person he met with so far that he hasn't apologized to. Heck! He told Tommy to his face that him being sorry for his actions didn't mean he wouldn't do them again. It's a pretty damn big admission to acknowledge that that behaviour (which is the same now, if not worse when only related to Tommy) wasn't good. It also shows that he's at least a bit aware of Tommy's emotions which is rarely shown honestly. Though whether he cares because of Tommy or because being around Tommy makes him feel guilty (which is what you'd expect him to feel) and he doesn't like that is to be determined still, mostly just because the phrasing was a bit uncertain at the moment.

"I know what it's like to have no one- or at least feel like no one trusts you. Uhm, and I- I've realized that if- if no one's with you then how can anyone really know when you've redeemed yourself? So that's why I'm here I guess" (Ranboo's answer to why he trusts Wilbur. Which he doesn't, but still)

And the stream ends with Wilbur saying he hopes Tubbo comes around to try out one of the burgers (though he does repeat that he doesn't want Ranboo to pressure him to join) and complimenting Ranboo a bit more.

I havent seen enough people appreciate the acting in this lore stream, which is crime bc it was so good!! Tommy using his face cam to act out how freaked out his character was wothout saying a word, Wilbur playing 2 different characters so passionately, and i think thats the first time ive seen Sam mad before. Just all around good shit from our streamers 👏👏👏

Yeah, it was awesome! Tommy's heavy breathing when things were falling apart really got to me even. He conveys panic and being overwhelmed so well. That he put so much effort into acting when he was literally silent was fantastic as it really added another element to the proceedings helping to increase tension making it such a thrilling stream.

And WIlbur and Sam were both amazing too. Ghostbur and Wilbur feel like such totally different characters, who again are both very different from the CC! Just awesome all round.

And wow, I am very tempted to make some mini-compilation comparisons between Tommy and Sam's interactions on each prison visit because it's been such a journey, tragic though it is.

It's great how all of these streamers are so committed to playing morally ambiguous characters and victims and do so well under what must be huge pressure from such a big fanbase.

Tommy’s (and Tubbo’s) Character /rp /dSMP

This is a bit of a rant so like be warned. I have nothing against any CCs mentioned in this, this is all roleplay, lighthearted, and just a bit of fun analysis. Mostly this is a ramble about how I see certain people analysing Tommy’s character on tumblr and twt, and why I think they’re wrong. This isn’t directed at anyone specific, just a trend I’ve been seeing that kinda irks me. I don’t dislike the fandom, just a few ‘takes’ have been really weird for me.

TW for everything below: analysing the effects of trauma, abuse, manipulation, gaslighting, and lack of therapy.

I’m not really liking how victim-blamey everyone is getting currently in the dSMP, both in fandom and canon. In canon with certain characters but especially in fan analysis posts and especially about Tommy and Tubbo. People legitimately celebrating that Tommy might start ‘apologising’ for his actions more and 'growing as a person' somehow don’t realise that hes been made this way through a tonne of negative reinforcement. abuse, and gaslighting. And people blaming Tubbo for actions he had no choice in, rather than the actions he did choose.

Currently, as I see it, Tommy is so scared that anyone would find a reason to be pissed off at him that his fighting spirit has been completely crushed. He was exiled and abused when he should have been helped and given an understanding figure to guide him and teach him how to deal with things non-violently. In everyone’s eyes, the problem was that Tommy was creating violence with no real reason, acting recklessly and commiting crimes. Tubbo, having made him a part of his cabinet, knew that this would only harm the country. So instead of talking to him reasonably, he got angry, put him on trial, and punished him with the logbook (humiliating him by making him report back to Fundy, which he obviously hated). Tommy’s actions were, of course, bad, but did he deserve everyone ganging up on him? No. Especially when Tubbo was supposed to be in his corner, helping him out like he always said he would (”It’s me and you vs Dream” etc). This is the first betrayal of trust from Tommy’s POV. He doesn’t understand what he did wrong to its full extent, and no one can explain it to him. 

However, Tubbo was under a lot of pressure from Dream and George, and he’s a literal child President, so his ‘safety over friendship’ actions are understandable. I don’t believe Tubbo is solely to blame for anything he’s done in season 2, but it can’t all be excused. If you are to blame Tommy for his recklessness, you have to blame Tubbo, at least partially, for his disregard for Tommy’s feelings and mental state. There were other ways to go about the entire thing, including the trial, which was just horrible to watch, and agreeing to give Dream the disc, something Tommy gave him in pure confidence that it would be safe with Tubbo. Yikes moment.

At that time, Tubbo knew a lot of things about Tommy. In fact, he probably knew the most about Tommy out of anyone on the server. He knew the discs were incredibly important and a comfort item for Tommy. He knew Tommy had trauma from being exiled in the past. He knew Tommy was abused, or at least manipulated by Wilbur, in addition to growing up in war. Wilbur once told Tommy to stop being reckless, and Tommy listened, changing his attitude because he looked up to Wilbur so much. Then Wilbur said ‘let’s be the bad guys’ and stopped trying to mentor Tommy. There’s a conflict here, because Tommy was told by Wilbur that he wasn’t good enough to be President (links to the idea of ‘not being strong enough’) but he knows that Wilbur was a bad person. But Tommy is never given the chance to reconsile his feelings surrounding Wilbur, both because of Ghostbur and because of the conflict he starts with George. So he is harbouring a mixture of emotions about his mentor and brother, not understanding how to untangle the ‘real Tommy’ from the manipulated boy he became. 

What was going through his head when he stole from George and griefed him? Perhaps the thought that he needed to show he was still the same old Tommy. Maybe the need to ‘prove himself’ as a strong person? It could have just been an outlet for his trauma. He’s grown up in a world where everyone is either a friend or an enemy. George isn’t a friend. How was he supposed to know that hurting him was bad?

Tubbo was pressured into the actions he took against Tommy, but he was pressured far too easily. There is no moment where Tubbo turns to Tommy and makes sure he’s okay, he views him as ‘selfish’ and overdramatic, and sees his actions that way. This makes sense from Tubbo’s POV, he’s struggling to be President in ways that Wilbur *knew* he would, but in Tommy’s eyes this is the worst betrayal he’s ever known. The moment Tubbo (rightfully, but poorly executed) defies Tommy’s plan to hire Technoblade (ahem, seeing Techno as a weapon again) and exiles Tommy is the moment their friendship shatters. They’re two people who don’t understand each other anymore. Two people who are technically in the right, but only hurt each other. 

What Tommy needed was a therapist, instead he had Dream, who put out the fire of rebellion that made him so strong, and Techno, who was trying to help but doing it in the wrong way. 

People see tommy's change post-exile as a good thing because he's not as rebellious anymore and he’s thinking things through a lot before he does them, but they will soon realise that his rebellion was one of his best traits and the fact that no one saw it as anything but a problem really shows. He now second-guesses himself so much and is so scared of being wrong that everything seems too difficult and too dangerous. Every trait can have a positive and negative side. Tommy's defiant nature would have made him the perfect negotiator with a little practise. In fact, he had plenty of good ideas before he was exiled (using spirit against Dream, though it didnt work in the end, for example). The negative side of this was recklessness and the desire to cause problems on purpose, but what he needed was a friend (looking at you Tubbo) who understood that hes been through several wars, was manipulated by Wilbur, and hasnt known a time of peace where everyone who wasnt on his side was out to kill him. Now that ‘fight’ is gone he's just become easier to manipulate.

He may be getting better (see: telling Dream to go fuck himself) but there hasn't been any long-term growth because he was never told what kind of rebellion was good and what was bad. He was just told it was all bad. By Dream (and by Tubbo). Who he doesn't trust. So he's just going to revert back to his old ways because no one told him what was bad in a way that didn't make him feel like everyone was against him. Dream is the enemy (though Tommy’s feelings towards him are complicated, they make his brain go all ‘flippy floppy’) and Dream told him that rebellion was bad, so rebellion must be good always, right? 

And then there's Techno. Techno did nothing wrong except for when he did. Techno is 100% right except for when he isn’t. He doesn't understand Tommy because Tommy was never fully open about what Dream had done and how it affected him. That's not Tommys fault though, because who the fuck openly talks about their trauma? So neither of them are to blame for pretty much anything up until the confrontation at the community house. 

However, Techno's methods and ideology were not what Tommy needed. He was thrown from one extreme to another over and over again, from complete subservience to total rebellion. Neither of these inforce good attitudes in Tommy. One, as stated before, makes it so that he will regain his negative traits again. The other reinforces those violent traits as good, just like Wilbur did. The only difference is that Techno had good intentions, he wasnt trying to use Tommy, which is why he feels so used when Tommy 'betrays' him (Techno doesnt realise that he himself betrayed Tommy by teaming with Dream, he sees it more as a transaction than a personal thing). Techno feels so hurt by Tommy ‘viewing him as a weapon’ that he goes on with his no-mercy attack, completely dropping Tommy at his lowest point. 

Tommy says he doesn't want to be like everyone he's hated. In fact, he say's he is 'worse' than all the villains. This is very obviously untrue, though he was clearly going down a dangerous path with Techno's influence (see: bullying Fundy, spawning wither, kidnapping Connor, and saying that the discs are more important than Tubbo, more on that later). He's not a villain but who exactly has said he's not a villain. Dream? Techno? Neither of them can be trusted in his eyes. They say he's a good guy, Wilbur wanted to be the bad guy, who's right? He doesn't know. He has a crisis of morality. 

And? Some people want to point at that and say 'aha! Character development! He's finally realising his actions have a negative affect on others!' OH GOD NO??? He's a *child* who thinks that he is worse than his abuser. Does that sound like positive character growth to you? 

Lastly, the discs. We know theyre a comfort item blahblahblah. He hates himself for valuing them more than he values Tubbo. He's literally innocent in this. He’s been horribly manipulated by Dream to believe that the discs are worth anything. Theyre really not worth anything if they are being used as tools rather than, yknow, discs. My poor boy. He doesnt trust people, so what can he trust? The discs. But then he says it out loud and realises he misses Tubbo and he wants to be with his best friend again and and and WAHHHH. This also isnt really character growth its just fucking sad leave me alone. 

Anyways what the fuck guys. @ Niki and Jack what the fuck. Yeah we get it it’s miscommunication but wtf. Kinda worried that the actual lore will make Niki and Jack’s hatred of Tommy justified in some way and take on a big victim-blamey vibe, but I’m hoping that everyone is smart enough to not do that. I cannot praise Tommy enough for how he’s portrayed his character. I’m currently hoping that he himself understands the true complexity of it all. I’m sure he does.

Mostly though im actually pissed off at all the people praising tommy's character for 'maturing' when hes literally just got trauma. Nice one, tumblr and twt users. Thanks. Great job. He hasnt 'learnt his lesson', he’s traumatised. What the fuck.

Rehashing the Festival

Aka I reviewed the footage /rp

I've been rewatching all of Technoblade's old dream smp streams to write timestamps of them for my other blog (link here blatant self promo is blatant), and I just finished the festival stream. I've gathered a nice pile of evidence to discuss in the eternal "How justified is c!Technoblade" argument. How canon some statements are so a little up in the air but I'll do my best. Most of this is evidence that c! Technoblade legitimately feared for his life at the festival although there's some quotes that could be used against him as well.

The argument that Techno could have escaped when pressured to kill Tubbo is a common one. Tommy brings up that Technoblade"can literally fly" twice as 'proof' that Technoblade wasn't in danger. Techno responds by saying he can't fly without rain and that there were people waiting to gun him down. The truth is that outside of the lore, escaping people in minecraft when fully geared is super manageable. Technoblade's reaction is essentially saying that Tommy is metagaming and c! Technoblade didn't see hope for escape.

Secondarily, Tommy would have been almost equally as mad if Techno ran. He would have still called Techno a traitor for abandoning Tubbo to be killed. As Techno says in a later stream, "Tubbo...was dead the moment he stepped in that box Tommy. Do you really think there was no one else in that entire country that could kill an unarmed caged man?" Saying Techno could escape is like asking him to do crystal pvp, sure it's within the capabilities of Techno as a minecraft player but the story sometimes requires characters to not do things they are capable of. Just like how Techno the streamer was perfectly capable of letting the butcher army kill Carl but c!Techno cared too much. Fighting against limits set for the characters by the writers feels really pointless to me.

Tubbo would not have lived if Techno fleed or if Techno tried to help Tubbo escape. It wasn't even within the capabilities of the real streamers since Tubbo was unarmed, armorless, and surrounded. Any move by Techno would result in Tubbo's death, Tommy's anger, and a division within Pogtopia. The only possible alternative (as Technoblade mentions on doomsday) is Wilbur and Tommy jumping in. They are obviously capable of it since Tommy pearls in after Tubbo dies.

Without action from Wilbur and Tommy Tubbo dies. For Technoblade, every move has no real benefit. However, he has a whole inventory of gear he could lose. Whether cc!Technoblade could escape or not, it can't be denied that c!Technoblade is afraid of the crowd at the festival. He mentions in at least 2 asides that he can't "JFK" for chat because everyone will jump him and he will die. He says several more times before and after that he was legit afraid of the crowd and thought they were capable of killing him.

A quick detour to discuss the rocket launcher. A common point us Technoblade apologists have made is that Techno didn't know the true capabilities of the rocket launcher and thus didn't know he could kill everyone. Some evidence includes is his blatant shock in killing JSchlatt and the crowd. Even after that initial shock wears off (as well as in the next stream) he calls it a weapons test. These details indicate that Techno didn't know the weapon's true capability hence "test" not demonstration. However, he does mention twice in the stream the stats of the weapon. He says it can shred through enemies and that it can deal a max of 9 hearts. There are two counters to these statements (that I brought up just to argue with myself why am I like this). Firstly, these earlier moments are less in character than the time after the festival. Technoblade the streamer is aware of the stats even if he's never tested the rocket launcher, but it's debatable how much c!Techno knows. Second, academic knowledge doesn't equal field knowledge. Cc! Technoblade is legitimately shocked by the amount of people he killed. He's in awe. If cc!Techno was told how great the weapon was and still underestimated it than of course c!Techno would too as he knew even less. The confidence to take on a nation needs more than a theoretically good weapon.

In conclusion the festival was so rad and I'm nostalgic for when I caught it live. Technoblade was so happy about the viewer count and it was very pog

He wears the red and blue sunglasses not just because he looks cool but because he’s got some rare eye thing that both his eyes receive sunlight weirdly and at like different variations so they help control the sunlight so it doesn’t hurt his eyes as much

He wears the headset as a way to try and make the glasses seem like more of a style choice because he can get insecure about the sunlight thing because he finds it so dumb

The stripes just help complete the outfit

The camo also help the outfit but mainly he wears them just to make horrible camo jokes

The back of his neck is fairly ticklish he does the shivery wiggle thing while also his neck like bends backwards trying to block the fingers

He can’t do shoulder massages often because he gets too giggly

His back is fairly ticklish as well but not super bad unless you target the sides of it

Ribs are death

Armpits are semi death

Sides aren’t death but he can’t handle surprise squeezes here at all

Knees and thighs are death

Tum button is death

Overall tum is semi death depending on the technique

Hips death

Arms/palms/wrists nowhere near death but very giggly and flustery

Can surprisingly handle most teases pretty well

Back isn’t terrible but definitely worse than he thinks it is and is surprised how much it tickles when you give him back scratches and insists you’re scratching his sides and ribs when you’re really not

Basically he’s pretty well a walking death spot

Tum and tum button are death tho tum is more dependent on the technique you use

Speaking of technique he can’t handle raspberries they’re just so ticklish and flustery and he will never understand how air can be so ticklish

Arms/wrists/palms again he is very surprised by how ticklish he is here

Also he has ticklish calves similar degree of ticklishness as his arms/wrists/palms

They’re all not horribly ticklish but enough to be very flustering and make him giggle and twitch a lot tho can also be relaxing if you stroke with just the right pressure

Neck the back of it is the most sensitive part and he definitely scrunches up when tickled there

He can’t do the arms up game at all

He’s a switch he likes to say he doesn’t but he does sometimes lean lee

But he can be a very ruthless ler not doing overly rough tickles tho mainly just very very playful

Definitely uses the tickle monster tease and then light heartedly makes fun of the lee for being flustered by it and claiming something like that would never fluster him

Spoiler alert it does fluster him every time without fail

He definitely says things like “really ?! Are you ticklish here ?! Really ?!” And does a whole head tilt and shake of the head while smiling with a like idk I can’t describe the face djhxhs

Loves sneaking up on people and softly tazering them on their sides and then running away

If you have a ticklish neck keep it covered he will sneak up and tickle the back of your neck just to see you scrunch up

He loves nibbling necks as well

Also raspberrying and nibbling stomachs

He loves when people have ticklish hands he finds it adorable and loves holding hands with them in public and then lightly tickling their palm to make them squeak or giggle

Will definitely put his arm around you when walking and lightly squeeze or wiggle his fingers on your side if he feels you getting nervous

I mean, I get why the characters are so lacking! Tales from the SMP as a whole doesn't have deep and interesting characters because they're ultimately plot devices and side characters for Karl. We rarely tune in for the story. We tune in for our favorite content creators and how they'll play their parts and for the ending. For Karl's snippet of lore.

The tales started out as a fun way to ease tension from the main lore and give us interesting filler episodes. They evolved into a way to house Karl's lore while trying to keep the fun episodic filler we need.

Some criticism is absolutely necessary. Karl has done two murder mystery episodes with different settings. Kinda boring. Quackity. oh GOD Quackity. He doesn't fit the tone of these new tales and can't seem to reel himself in. Lost City of Mizu? I hated Quckity in that. Karl kept trying to move things along and Quackity would run off or start a bit that dragged on for too long. When he died the pacing of the story speed up to a normal pace that became more interesting! My biggest issue with tales will always be Quackity.

Sorry for this long rant but I think that TSMP gets a lot of unwarranted criticism for its characters and I'm tired of people wanting more deep characters when that's not what TSMP is for.

i get what youre saying but like thats kind of the reason i dont like it very much! characters existing just to be plot devices and side characters is kind of boring :p im not really a huge fan of the cast karl usually has on and i think its formula just isnt very interesting? the pressure to come up with new characters to play IMO makes all the jokes and bits everyone does fall a little flatter than normal. like if youre tuning in for the ccs isnt it better if theyre playing interesting characters? that gives them a lot more to work with!

i also think that tftsmp existing just to flesh out karls character in the actual dsmp is a little.. i dont know i feel like a better way to do that would be to have more frequent character interactions on the server itself. like the way tales and the dsmp are set up kind of makes for 2 different karls. theres silent cinematic in-between karl and then theres the actual character karl acts as which is basically just the guy in a setting. the character he actually rp’s as is very very different from the character he plays in the in between segments, which i find kind of jarring. theres just such a tonal disconnect between tales and the IB :(

i guess my main issue is that tales is sort of placed as Character Development which makes it stand out a little more when the characters actually played within it are lackluster. i agree that the point is to just entertain and be funny but i think its structure kind of gets in the way of that. ive made a post abt it before i think but like basically its just trying to do too many things at once and they all get in each others way :(

either way though i just dont enjoy tales very much thats kind of it. like i do have structural complaints but even if it was Very Good i still dont think i would like watching it :p so take all this with a grain of salt lol

WHY I LOVE THIS FIC: World building is succint but efficient, the environment is built through every sentence, through smaller descriptions but ultimately gives the readers a more natural entry. Sexual tension is immense, weaved into the fight scenes and packing a punch but also incredibly intimate. Just such a good fic all in all! Though it’s not the Magnus and Alec we know (and this is exactly the point of the fic itself), it’s so wonderfully written you would suspend belief.

FAVORITE QUOTE: "What's the matter, Lighthouse?" He grunts, keeping the pressure with his thumb. Lightwood's face goes a delightfully veiny pink at the effort to downplay his pain, "Gonna try to suck my dick out of this one, too?" Lightwood huffs a hoarse laugh, lips spraying spittle as they stretch into a smug smirk, "Why? So you can lie back and moan like you did last time?” (This is just so reflective of what the entire fic is all about lmao!)

WHY I LOVE THIS FIC: Dialogue is impeccable, and Lu always has a knack for story telling that just feels so much like it’s lifted from real life. Something as light and funny as this shouldn’t have such a surprising amount of depth (Magnus' reluctance to pursue Alec) but it does, and it works seamlessly through the fic, not a jarring surprise. So much delicious emotional tension that caught my breath in my throat!

FAVORITE QUOTE: “The answer seems obvious when Alec’s thumb maps a faint, gentle but deliberate circle against Magnus’ shoulder, sending his whole world off its axis with a simple touch.” (Even rereading this quote I can’t breathe my goodness)

WHY I LOVE THIS FIC: Jackie is another writer whose dialogue is just so natural and real. The way she wrote Magnus and Alec throughout this story is just so perfectly realized and characterized. The plot is simple but so well built, and it hit all the quintessential highschool AU tropes that one would ever want. You could really feel the push and pull between Magnus and Alec and it’s all because of how Jackie built it little by little  painstakingly throughout the thirteen chapters, which makes the epilogue have such good payoff.

FAVORITE QUOTE: “Everything fades around them and Magnus is floating with only the soft gusts of Alec against his face; the wet sound of their kiss; and Alec’s quiet contented hum when he pulls back and opens his eyes to gaze on Magnus. He’s smiling, and the honey brown is a thin ring around his pupils.” (Eep. I squeal just rereading this)

Never Stand Between Two Mirrors by @oncethrown

WHY I LOVE THIS FIC: This piece of writing is as captivating as it gets. I don’t think I’ve ever seen an author really go through SH lore the way this author did. I would choose this fic over anything CC has written as canon. Magnus has a spiel in this story that just astoundingly fleshes through the shadowhunter prejudice and it’s so well written you wouldn’t think it was taken from the book because it’s SO MUCH BETTER. This fic such a smart story delving into a lot of important themes, with such a good timing and a tempo that is just right. There’s promise not only for Real Alec but also for Alt Alec, and it’s like you’re getting two happy endings at the same time. And there never has been a better exposition of Lydia and Alec’s relationship even if it is in the alternate universe’s version of their friendship. I still love it a lot.

FAVORITE QUOTE: “You asked me, at the end of the day, what did I risk?” He asked quietly. “It’s everything, Alec.” (If you read what transpired before this quote, you would understand why it’s bears so much weight in my heart)

WHY I LOVE THIS FIC: Oh, this wonderful, emotionally intelligent story. I thought I was just getting a funny prompt filled in. I didn’t expect this to alter my life in such a way. The plot of this story and how it progressed is so interesting - just when I feel like a resolution is coming and we've hit peak conflict, it yanks me the opposite way. The usual story would have a rising conflict that hits a climax. I feel like this fic has multiple little conflicts that rises and falls but still builds upon the ultimate climax of the story. It stays true to the main point of the fic: "It is so tempting to want the perfect ending, the storybook kiss. But that's not how life works". This story wasn't wrapped up with a tidy bow on top, but still holds so much promise.

I have been writing for the past thirteen years. I thought when I was younger, I would study to be a better writer. I became a nurse instead. My last piece of writing before I met Magnus and Alec was dated November 19, 2014, right in the middle of nursing school which I was struggling with. I let writing go in favor of being a better health care provider, and I was lost in it for five years. I didn’t write a single thing, fearing I’ve lost what it takes to do so, and that I didn’t love any character enough to ever try again. When I am asked why I love Magnus and Alec so much, I say a lot of the usual things; they’re perfect representation, their love is healthy, and they are portrayed by people who care just as much as we do. But also, I love them because they’ve given me back something of myself I thought I’ve parted with a long time ago. For the first time in a long time, I feel whole.

thinking of taking a leaf out of your book and deleting twitter 🥴 it’s so exhausting and fandom feels so different from how it used to ,,, i use fandom as an escape from real life (which is Shitty ahaha) and i just get anxious that people are going to get upset i haven’t rt-d enough threads or posted enough and i just ?? do people think that’s healthy ?? ik people on twt think they’re helping but it just puts so much pressure on Random Internet People to solve world problems when ,, that should Not Be what fandom spaces are like ,,, sorry for the rant HENDHDJ feel free not to answer this !!!! i just want to say you’re the first person i know on here who has deleted twitter and it opened my eyes to that actually being a solution to my problems on it lol

yooo i. i don’t actually have twitter deleted BUT i am planning this very secret scheme to get all of my sensible people who are my moots onto dreblr instead and then i’ll delete it. i need to find some twitter cc update accs on here because if i could still see what the content creators are posting that would be great, but twitter just makes opening it not worth it.

there is so much good art and writing and i’m just painfully scrolling through so much stuff i cannot or don’t want to participate in and oh look two of my moots liked a post about how techno should be kicked out of dsmp and his lore isn’t interesting anyways i hate everything until i can get to what my friends are doing.

it is the unhealthiest fandom space i’ve ever seen. i was in a mainly discord (it was a small one) / tumblr fandom back in 2019 and it was my first experience with fandom and it was great! i also came to the conclusion that the reason people think dsmp is toxic is literally just twitter.

it is not healthy. people need to start prioritizing their own mental health over blue bird but people seem to think it’s a reliable source of information “see what’s going on in the world” more like see hoaxes and drama and performative activism and that it’s a good place to make announcements.

ccs should just all make their own websites (p sure they have the money for it) that would send out notifications and where they could put announcements. the problem is that nowadays, everyone and everything is on twitter.

that’s kinda why i’m hoping i can migrate the sensible drepologists to dreblr - cause there’s not that many of us. but we’ll see.

either way, as someone with clinical anxiety; delete twitter before it’s too late. there are better places (tumblr is decent overall, and it’s great if you manage your experience correctly) to hang out with people and talk about your interests. i promise. take care of yourself. you don’t owe anyone anything, you can be a good person even if you don’t participate in activism on the internet, it’s not your responsibility to care about someone else thinks about the entertainment that you consume. as long as you can look at it critically and aren’t actively hurting anyone, it’s chill. :]
