“DANCE WITH ME.”

Sanemi had to pull a double take to see if you were serious. Your unflinching gaze — that same one that was dipped in bubbling excitement — gave away that you were.

( His first thought was a very apprehensive ‘oh no, what’re you panning’. His eye might have twitched a little as well. It might have. )

“You want me to dance with you…?” He repeats, with a hint of incredulity as he dusts his hands free of any dirt, the words sitting on his tongue with an unfamiliar weight ( like onigiri with foreign fillings ). “Are you serious?”

“Yes.” You don’t blink. He feels a little unsettled.

Sanemi glances to the side, then down at his filthy clothes, then at your filthy clothes with a raised brow ( gardening was something he found himself enjoying with you these days; and you always liked the extra set of hands helping you out ). “Now?” you nod, bouncing on your heel impatiently. 

“Of course! I can teach you if you’d like!” you add, holding up your hands. “The westerners have one called the waltz…I had a teacher who taught it to me when I was younger…” you trail off, shyly smiling at him.

A gruff grumble was all you get in response. “I don’t dance.” he states, his tone coming across as a little more curt as opposed to the awkward fussiness he takes on around you ( if fussiness was the right way to describe it. Exasperation was more on point given what a feisty firecracker you. You’re lucky he loves you ). You hardly seemed to care, poking his arm. He utters your name with a hint of frustration. “I don't.”

“Why not?” you tease. “You scared of loosening up a little?” wiggling your fingers with a wide grin, you continued your poking assault on his arm. A childish attempt, Sanemi thinks. Then why the fuck were his lips tugging up at the corners? The victory that shone in your eyes means you must have seen it too and Sanemi knew that he could never deny you these moments of domesticity ( he liked them just as much as you did, to be honest. It feels like normalcy and stability ).

Ah, curse him and his weakness.

“Fine.” Sanemi finally relents, taking your hands. “I hope I step on your toes.”

Playfully tugging him closer, you only wrinkle your nose and snicker. “Works for me either way. That means I get to have you fuss over me for the next few days.”

He looks just a little startled when you say that. “I won’t actually break them, you know — I was just joking.”

“I know, ‘nemi, I know.”

Right.

Sanemi hopes his embarrassed blush wasn’t too obvious. You guide his hands gently, one coming to rest on your hip while the other clasped yours, fingers netting together. The position was vaguely familiar, during those moments of quiet intimacy, during cold nights when you were both sharing a blanket and a fire. Your hand would find his scarred one.

( And sometimes, it was when your back was pressed against the futon mat, his hold pinning you down with ease and your keening rang in his ears. )

The tiny bits of nervousness he felt soon dissipated. Then the two of you start to dance. 

Sanemi wasn’t new to waltzing. Rengoku told him about it as well ( he came from a well off family too, like you did. While the flame hashira hardly had the time in his schedule to indulge himself frequently, he spoke of the usual rich-people pastimes ), but it was different, hearing it from word of mouth and actually acting it out.

The movements were slower, far more fluid and graceful and rhythmic. Sanemi’s reflexes were always chaotic and harsh, a testament to his wind breathing technique. Being asked to partake in a dance routine so…elegant felt akin to asking a hurricane to completely change its course and not wreak havoc where it passed over.

“You need to be more gentle, ‘nemi.” Genya would tell him, his wide eyed gaze crinkling at the corners. Sanemi would just laugh and pat his head in response ( those were simpler times where childhood innocence, no matter how weathered down it was, was something he still held close ). The memory made his stomach turn with a mix of bittersweetness and lingering grief. Gentle, he tells himself. Be gentle.

Sanemi does not know how to be gentle — he had too many rough edges, too many years spent fighting and killing and fighting to know how to be, but he tries to. He thinks of Kanae or Mitsuri or Giyu and Tengen, people who knew how to be kind in their own ways. He thinks about Rengoku and his reliance. He thinks about Genya and the smile that reached his eyes.

Sanemi tries to be gentle.

“Relax.” your soothing voice snaps him out of his thoughts and it makes it a little easier. He takes a few clumsy steps, then a few more. You were patient, if not a bit amused, and you were clear enough with your instructions for him to slowly ease himself into the swaying. “That’s it! You’re doing pretty well.”

Sanemi looks at you, at the sun caught in your hair and the smell of earth and flowers that clung to you. Perhaps the years have finally weathered him down, he thinks. Perhaps Muzan’s death did make him weak and stagnant. 

He dips his head down and kisses you. He kisses you again and again and again until you’re both breathless. Sanemi kisses you with fervor and with passion and with tenderness and chaste affection.

The waltzing ceases as he leads you back inside the house and to his pleasant surprise, you were laughing.

See? What did I tell you? It´s a slow paced love story or more like slowly they are getting closer while we witness other major issues that needs to be solved too. But let´s start at the beginning, because my gosh it was a lot that we saw in episode 3. Btw this time the translations were a little bit off? I don´t know but it seemed they were changed here and there....but I think it´s a netflix problem or something like that lol. But because of that I really try to focus more on the scene and not on the words. So their reaction will be used for explanation. (try is the magical word here because well yeah I don´t know XD)

Him, asking her out was a little bit clumsy but it suits him pretty well. He isn´t good with words. It´s not like he isn´t honest but he doesn´t know how to articulate and yeah this makes him very likeable. And the fact that she denied his request wasn´t surprising.

She is used that her "family" saw her in that way the entire time. Nobody gave her another feeling, nobody gave her the feeling that she was welcomed. So it´s understandable for her to think like that. People in the past gave her the feeling that they feel embarrassed to be with her. (psychological abusement) And if you witness it everyday then you start thinking like that. (well personaly I witnessed it too and it´s difficult to erase this thought)

This is why, his words may seem nice and sweet and they totally are. Because he straightforward told her that he isn´t this type of person, but it will take more time for her to realize it. But slowly they will come closer.

All her things are used and start to fall apart after being used over and over again. This is normal for things and once in a while you have to rebuy something new. But the fact that she didn´t say it out loud or demanded for it speaks for herself. Because not only she doesn´t wanna be a burden but also these clothes and things are hers. As you remember when she arrived she had a little bag and nothing more because this was what belonged to her. Everything else was lost to her stepsister who forcefully took everything from her. So maybe she also doesnt wanna let it go so easily because it gives her safety.

She really doesn´t think that good about her, huh? This would be a quick question in your head when you see these scenes over and over again in which she always says "no, it doesn´t suit me, i don´t need, i can´t". And i can totally understand that but I can feel with her so much. And this scene made me cry a little bit, not because she could finally use make-up. For me the make up itself isn´t that important, but the fact that she has kinda a self-hatred but there are people who now wanna support her and yeah this interaction was beautiful. <3

And he, he didn´t say anything but we ALL could see it in his face. XD He really liked it. Sorry you can´t deny it anymore you little tsundere. :P

This here strenghtened my thought btw that she isn´t used to demand things. Because she never got the opportunity to say out loud what she wants and when she did she got scolded. So for him to say that she won´t be getting scolded is really important. But he has to say it more than once, so she will be always reminded to that. Because at one point there is always the possibility for her to fall back into the darkness of her thoughts.

TRUE!!! But I think it´s because not many people wanted to get to know him more. His position as a general reflects authority, so they wanna show him a lot of respect and don´t wanna make him angry.

I bet nobody is as happy as she is. Like imagine you work for a young man who had literally over 15 women as potential financees in this house and every single one ran away after a few times. XD She really likes him and I think she does see him as her son (btw she is also behaving like a mother to Miyo and this is so cute <3) and she wanna see him happy. So nobody of us can say: "Oh maybe he starts liking her more because of the gift!" Nonono he knows it and yet he doesn´t wanna let her go. This was btw the part where I was really into this story.

Also yes he knows that not only words can heal her wounds due to the abusement she has wittnessed. He understands so much and this is why he is the perfect husband. <3

There isn't that much more to it than what I summarized in that previous post, really.

I think the most common one is the "Jane Eyre is I can fix him", which is a pretty common romance trope in JE inspired novels, but that isn't really featured in the novel. When Jane discovers Rochester is married, she leaves him, despite all his begging and pleading and excusing himself and promising she wouldn't be just another mistress. She owes it to her principles and respect of self to do so. And she only returns when she is supernaturally prompted to return, and marries him not only because he's now free to marry, but because he's had a change of heart through Divine punishment.

I think also Rochester is a huge source of inspiration for the suave asshole with a heart of gold and a sad backstory. The problem is that Rochester isn't really any of those things. He's ugly and weird in his manners and speech -his sexual history is mainly about paying women to be with him, and his marriage 95% arranged- most of his bad behavior stems from his being an insecure idiot, and the sad backstory is sad-ish, because in the end he has means to escape and dull his heart and senses that most other people don't.

I think that a lot of the "girl, he has his wife in the attic" sentiment comes from romance novels taking this transformed type and making the hero's sins non-sins. Like, in a contemporary sense, his having had mistresses and such is a *wink* sin *wink*, something the reader is asked to pretend to delightfully clutch their pearls about while the character is made more attractive by sex appeal and the expectation that he'll know how to please in bed. So, with that perspective we come to JE and are shocked that the guy has... actual sins, things that are ugly and not "naughty" in terms of "naughty Halloween costume", and assume the narrative is taking that same perspective -that Rochester's sins are meant to be winked and dismissed by the reader- but I don't think it is? Jane understands Rochester's motivations, has sympathy for his pain, and loves him for it, but cannot condone his wrongdoings or accept his worldview as accurate and right.

Ultimately at the heart of this is the reality that religion and faith are heavily featured and baked into the plot and themes of Jane Eyre, and the novel cannot be fully understood and reproduced in its mechanics without it (at least not in a form that completely makes sense in terms of why it ends the way it ends), because so much of it hinges on Divine Providence, forgiveness, and mercy.

as for the 69 tattoo, he's getting flushed cheeks after learning what it means in the modern world of living. but a part of him was still grateful for that incident bc he got to meet his muguruma-taicho. (got his ass saved and threateningly cheered him up too lol) so yeah, he got it tattooed out of respect. no regrets.

now, we can't say the same for the other tattoo. (i first thought it's a stripe/bandage or an accessory?? like it's just there for fashion?? lolol) i mean…i wouldn't have known why he got it. nobody knows. kubo-sensei needs to do some explanation here pls. but i can imagine shuhei looking into the mirror daily and be like “what tf were you thinking back then??” pat his back and tell him it's okay. everyone went through that phase. 😌

if his crush complimented kenpachi and renji for their tattoos and scars, shuhei would feel a bit conscious around these two. he might even stalk them out of curiosity. like “what do they have that i don't?”

rangiku would be laughing her ass off bc he got fired up over the smallest things his crush commented on. “he's a simp! that's what the youngsters in the world of living would call him!” she cackled while elbowing the facepalming kira beside her.

shuhei might go to the squad 11, using training as an excuse but he won't stop eyeing their spiky haired taicho the entire time. eventually, kenpachi would notice that and confront him about it. poor shuhei is shaking under this 6ft tall man, spilling the beans about his crush.

kenpachi just…doesn't understand. and he doesn't care i guess. he have no interest in dating and stuff, he's all about instinct and fight. but since shuhei brought this to his attention, he figured he can do whatever he wants about it. he's straightforward so he came up with the dumbest idea ever. “your woman like scars? then, fight me and get more scars!” rip shuhei 💀

okay now we've come to renji. i vaguely remember he got his tattoo after he graduated from the shinigami school. i also remember shuhei once lead his class on a field training and the trio (kira, renji and hinamori) was gushing about him.

my theory is, renji got inspired by shuhei about tattooing. (imagine kira trying to talk him out of it but renji was all “but hisagi-san is so badass with those! i want it too!!!”) so if shuhei ever voiced his concern about it, i think renji would know how to reassure him.

but don't trust his suggestion though. his fashion sense can be as bad as shuhei's guitar playing. “hisagi-san! you should get this glasses! you'd look cool with it!!” (it's so bad that ichigo want to pretend he dk these two on the street)

this is an off topic but lemme rant about byakuya a bit HAHA i rmb the first time i saw him i'm like “okay not the type of guy i'd like. thank you, next.” then i got into past arc and TEEN BYAKUYA!! HES A TSUNDERE 😍 HES SO CUTE I CAN'T!! 😫 but yeah that was pretty short-lived and we never see his tsundere tendencies again. (maybe there is…but he's more of a kuudere now) and i'm kinda torn in between “i only like him in his teenage!!” and “should i just love him as a whole??” basically i just refused to admit i like him 💀

Welcome back, Cobra Kai pride month moodboard followers!!! This time let's hear it for Moon Nolastname, our one canon bisexual queen!!! She's so important to me fr <3 <3 <3 Granted, her dating a girl for 2 seconds was not NEARLY the epic sapphic romance she deserves, but I'm still so happy it's canon she likes women <3 <3 <3

I also still maintain that she has more chemistry with every female character she's ever interacted with onscreen (including that one random blonde girl in the pink dress who she danced with in the prom episode) than she ever had with Eli, eat your heart out bird boy akjsdnhukyghju

ANYWAYS I figure I don't need to back up why I think she's bi when it's been literally confirmed canon by Word of God (if you want to count that, anyways), so I'll use this bit to dive into why I'm a Lesbian Yasmine/Biseuxal Moon truther and why Moon being bisexual (and not a closet lesbian) actually makes perfect sense to me!

Throughout the show, she definitely shows enough general interest in boys to lead me to believe she doesn't exclusively like girls. She's lowkey flirty with a guy named Rory as early as 1x02 (the one she wants to do a flip for her insta channel!), and she seems to be the one to make the first move with Hawk in 1x09. In the soccer episode of Season 3, we see her having a friendly chat with a football player that could be seen as a little flirty. Compare this to Yasmine (who I think is a lesbian!), who doesn't really interact with any boys outside of Kyler in S1 and doesn't even really acknowledge Brucks, despite him following Kyler everywhere. In later seasons, Yasmine only really interacts with Demetri (and occasionally Eli) while Moon is shown to be amicable with Demetri, Miguel, minor male side characters like Rory, and enough boys and girls to throw an enormous house party in 5x08!

So admittedly I am one of the biggest h*wkm**n haters of all time. Catch me still in denial that they got back together in S4 because no they didn't <3 HOWEVER!!! From how, uh...spirited their first make-out session was in 1x09, I can buy that there is definitely physical attraction there, if little else. Whatever emotional connection they do have I think is shallow at best and actively based on falsehoods at worst--Moon only really likes Hawk's fake overconfident facade, and isn't shown to have much interest in him beyond surface-level things (I mean, for fuck's sake, she said she liked his biceps and his cool hair while dumping him, like!!!). Hawk, meanwhile, seems to kinda put Moon on a weird pedestal and seems more obsessed with the idea of her than Moon herself. In any case, you don't need to have a deep, profound attraction to all of your preferred gender(s) for your sexuality to be valid, so...even with pretty shallow feelings for Eli, Moon's bisexuality is still totally valid and should be respected <3

Mentioned before, but I do think her initiating with Eli in 1x09 shows some genuine attraction there! And commenting how hot he is in 1x10, too XD It's so impassioned and spur-of-the-moment that it doesn't feel rehearsed and inauthentic in the same way Yasmine's "attraction" to boys often does to me. Moon seems to definitely like muscular, athletic boys--and girls too, if Piper is anything to go by! We love a bisexual with an overlapping type XD

If y'all have spent any time on my page, I'm sure you've heard me rant about Moon's planet-sized crush on Yasmine XD I think a lot of her S1 behavior (and generally hanging out with a "mean girl" clique that seemed counterintuitive to like...how she works as a person) could be explained by her having a crush on Yasmine. She backs Yasmine up unconditionally, even when she feels conflicted about it (like with Sam in the weed-smoking scene in her car), which would make a lot of sense if she had/has feelings for Yas. No coincidence, imo, that she finally gathered up the courage to ditch Yasmine as soon as she found a new mean hottie to swoon over XD No real judgment here btw I was Just As Cringe in high school. We all were.

Also worth noting that she's the only character who acknowledges Yasmine's existence while she's out of town in S2--including Demetri, the guy who supposedly "would kill his friends to get Yasmine to spit in his face"! And it's not even in an explicitly negative context. It kind of sounds like Moon's giggling and kicking her feet about Yasmine having the same bikini as her XD

In later seasons, Moon taking Yasmine back despite Yas's lack of remorse and readily being her best friend again seems to hint that Yas means a lot to her--maybe in a way that goes beyond a simple platonic friendship? The full-body check-out and butt glance she does with Yas in S4 is probably the most damning thing I can give you. I mean.

HOW did this make it into the show??? We've also got Moon a) breaking into excited screaming when Yasmine shows up at the prom and b) completely ignoring Eli the entire prom to hang around Yasmine and Demetri and continually steal glances at Yasmine XD This girl is gone as fuck. Let her date Yasmine, dammit!!! Clearly Eli is not her first choice!!!

Even in S5 she's sitting way too damn close to Yas in that brunch booth and laughing at Yas's dumb little joke about torturing Anthony. She's still gone as fuck. Justice for Moon!!! Let her go out with her dream girl, dammit!!!

And Moon's attraction to girls isn't limited to Yasmine and Piper!!! There's the aforementioned girl in the pink dress she was dancing with at prom (this lovely lady)

AND!!! I would argue Moon even seems to be kind of into Sam, at times! She definitely seems guilty about booting her out of the friend group back in S1, and she's lowkey giving bedroom eyes when the two of them are talking about Robby in S2 XD She looks a bit smitten during the sensory deprivation pod scene as well, and seems pretty down to put her arm around Sam whenever she can :P

Bottom line is, Piper was in fact NOT a phase in the least and I will forever be annoyed that the show kind of implied she was by having them break up for enigmatic reasons (which the conservatives could EASILY spin as "well she didn't ACTUALLY like girls she was just CONFUSED and Piper the Evil Cobra Kai was feeding this poor innocent straight girl's delusion!!!") and then having Moon go back to the male and supposedly straight ex who she had long since outgrown and lost feelings for. Like sure, Moon found a new relationship she seemed happy in and free to be herself in (something she notably could NOT really do with Eli), but CLEARLY that could never have the same (or greater!) emotional weight for her than a brief fling she had with some dude based on literally nothing except physical attraction -_____-

Whew, that got longer than I thought it would XD ANYWAYS, bottom line is that even though Moon canonically swings both ways and is so incredibly valid and sexy for it, I personally think she should date more women. The one exception to this is Robby Keene because Moonkeene is literally the only mlw Moon ship in the show that actually works, and I can and will die on this hill.

Also ngl it would be SUPER funny to see S3 Eli throw a bitchfit because his ex is going out with the mf he hates most in the world and there ain't nothing he can do about it. I think its been very well established by now I love characters that don't hold back. They're brutally honest- usually in a mean, cruel way. I mean, she's supposed to be a grandmother at this point! But this makes for great mother/son shipping. And anyway, Alicent was young when she had her sons, if maybe not quite that young.

I really like the idea of Aemond being the one that Alicent can rely on, and that he takes a lot of pride/pleasure in being that person for her, and that he's determined to be the strong arm for her and win her battles.

We haven't seen them interact much since he's been older and I think part of that reason is that they don't need to speak. She doesn't need to convince him of anything - he's already on her side, doing what she asks.

So I finished Alhaitham's story quest. Here are my thoughts:

Alhaitham is a lot kinder and more understanding than he lets on. I can't stand people calling him some two-dimensional jerk who only cares about himself. I think it's quite the opposite actually. He does care, he just doesn't let himself be ruled by his emotions. I know Ilyas was trying to fool him, but Alhaitham knew, and still he was respectful and patient with him. He saw good qualities in him, and even when Paimon brings up that he wanted to apologize, Alhaitham highlights Ilyas' bravery and commends him for doing the right thing.

He's not a man void of feelings, nor is he uncaring. He's practical and logical, but he doesn't expect everyone to follow his own ideals. He does what needs to be done while never overstepping the emotional boundaries of the other party. I'd say he's pretty accommodating to different viewpoints. He may not agree, but he leaves the floor open for discussion, and he states his rebuttals in a civil manner.

Seeing him and Kaveh bicker has to be one of the best things I've ever witnessed in Genshin 😭 Though they're always at each other's throats, you can tell deep down that they care about each other. If anything were to happen to one of them, I have no doubt the other would come to their rescue.

Butttttt their dislike of each other is so hilarious that I kinda want it to stay that way for a while HAHA. Makes for great entertainment.

I also love how Alhaitham realized he wasn't going to win an argument against two women and just invited you over to his house to get the conversation over with SKSBSKSNSM YEAH THAT'S RIGHT SIR, YOU BETTER ANSWER MY QUESTIONS.

Leah of Hel was probably Loki's first friend (idk if brothers count and while his relationship with Amora and Lorelei seems good I'm not sure if I'd outright say they were friends??) but the Young Avengers were 100% Loki's first friend group/support system. I'd kill for a Loki-Billy-America team up series written by Ewing where they explore the Demiurge stuff. (I reject America's origin retcon.) On one hand though I'm scared for the upcoming reunion but on the other. God I hope we get to see Loki meet Tommy

The double standers I see in the young avengers and the marvel comics Fandom from the anti Loki side is ridiculous. everyone can do terrible things now and then and they're fine " people make mistake" but the soon Loki does anything bad suddenly he's evil and terrible. Like they wanna treat everyone else as a person expect Loki.no one gives a shit to give him a chance or understand that he's not completely a terrible person which is exactly why he's gonna become what you want him to be at some point a long the line. Also I've seen some people exaggerating Loki's mistakes. Like someone literally said Loki attacked bats??? I will kill for Loki being back with the young avengers and the whole young avengers team coming back together. They're the perfect group/team for Loki. Almost all of them is queer and they have same the choatic rebellious energy as him. I wanna see Loki and noh-var intracting with Cassie and eli too. Like marvel! Big brain moment for me: is realizing one of the main reasons Mike dislikes Max is because she's (subconsciously) a constant reminder that he isn't straight.

Dustin and Lucas are immediately into Max . And Mike questions this (since they don’t even know her). Mike"awesome??!you haven't even spoken a  word to her! " Dustin (already crushing): " Hey! I don't have to . I mean LOOK at her." 

*MIKE LOOKING HELLA CONFUSED XD

Troy (the homophobic bully, talking about el): "her head's shaved . She doesn't even LOOK like a girl." 

(Not to mention all the people who also thought she looked like a boy and specifically thought she was Will- aka hopper, benny, and the diner customer).

We also know Dustin is remarking about Max’s physical appearance in that ep1 scene since this videogame-scene  also occurs in s2e1 (the same ep Max is introduced) . This videogame- scene has  lucas and Dustin fight over princess Daphne -and Lucas mentions how “princess daphne” is his. Foreshadowing the ending of  the love triangle between the 2 boys (in relation to Max) .

 What’s interesting is that historically dragon’s lair (was a nototriously difficult game)- and they used princess daphne’s attractiveness to convince straight-boys to continue playing the difficult game and waste their money .This is because, if the player finished the game- they would save and also marry  princess daphne. 

 But what’s interesting is - Dustin plays it, and it’s implied Lucas has played the game the most (and even finished the game to get Daphne). However, we never see Will or Mike play the game or get sucked into Daphne’s ...appeal. In fact (right after this) Mike instead puts his arm around Will and suggests they get the top score in dig dug TOGETHER (and beat madmax’s top score instead). Not to mention in s1 Mike wrote a whole d&d story for Will-inspired by star wars/the events of s1 and replaced  princess Leia with a king (aka Will). The king has a medal ceremony for the heroes since they k*lled the 7 headed monster for him ( Will: ”it was a 7. The demogorgan it got me″). Mike is not into princesses (he literally replaced a women crushed upon by nerdy/star wars fan boys) and replaced her with a king. connecting it even more to his lack of interest in the princess videogame/girls in general (and interest in Will) .

* These little details in ep 1 show how Mike isn’t like Dustin or Lucas. He doesn’t understand Lucas/dustin’s immediate attraction to daphne or Max in ep 1 (based on their feminine looks). Some people may claim he was attracted to El in Nancy’s dress/his grandma’s wig but i think this had more to do with the fact at that time El looked like the blonde popular girl jennifer hayes (who Lucas/Dustin were into). And so the idea of a girl who liked him (who looked like the most popular girl in school- who his friends were into )was appealing to his ego. Lucas (to Mike, referring to el while she is in her wig,dress, and makeup): “you’re just blind. Blind cause a girl isn’t grossed out by you.” Mike  in s1 even later specified he preferred her without the wig/makeup. He says in the wig/dress she’s “pretty” but when El removes all of it she asks “Still pretty?” And he says YEAH! pretty. REALLY pretty.” And sorry his compliment to her at the snowball seemed pretty rehearsed/forced. Just like how he refers to her fem look in s3 as “cool” (like how Hopper says El’s new punk look is “cool”).  In s3 we even have Lucas dress like the karate kid (cause max has a crush on him), nancy dresses based on 'new age' music (jonathan likes), so why does max imply El dresses in baggy male clothes for mike ? Saying about picking clothes " chose stuff that feels like you...not mike." Maybe cause mike prefers her dressing in a more masculine way?

Anyways, back on topic.  s2e1 shows Mike doesn’t understand his friends immediate attraction to Max and Daphne’s feminine appearances and this ties back to Mike’s animosity to Max in the following s2 eps.

 Later mike yells at max "hate you? How can I hate you? i don't even KNOW you!" (Mirroring what Mike said earlier to the smitten Dustin -when Dustin remarked on how he doesn’t really have to know her to think she’s awesome because he found her physically attractive). Mike says this comment to Max- when in canon Mike knew both el and Max for the exact same amount of time -a week . So somewhere in his subconscious he realizes crushing on el (who he ‘doesn't even know’) based on her then "boyish" look /will like appearance (after only knowing her a week) means something. Cause his straight friends (at least initially) are into Max for her more feminine appearance (after also only knowing her for a week) .And Dustin and Lucas were never into the boyish looking El (in s1- like they were with max in s2). So yeah every time Mike sees her - he's reminded that (in canon) he unlike his friends has never crushed on a single girl (except one who resembled a boy/ his male bff). Which (at least subconsciously) agitates him to think about. Max in response to him saying he doesn't hate her. Max: but you don't want me in your party! Mike: correct! Max: why not? Mike: CAUSE YOU’RE ANNOYING!To mike- max's very presence is a constant reminder he's not straight. Her presence makes him at least subconsciously start to think about things- he'd rather not. Like why he was attracted to the boyish looking el (who resembled Will) but not max, princess daphne, or any girl prior?

In s1 we know Mike knows what "gay" , 'fairy', and 'queer' is- all words he heard as insults towards Will . And eventually Mike snaps and attacks Troy for a specific  hom*phobic comment making fun of Will being dead. Where Troy says,  “Will’s in fairy land now. flying around with ALL THE OTHER FAIRIES. All happy and GAY!” . He attacks Troy in the school gym for subconsciously reminding him he’s gay -same place he yells at Max for doing the same thing. EL EVEN attacks both Max and Troy in the gym using her powers! (cough next time Mike saw Troy he literally flew from where Will ‘died’. (aka like ‘all the other fairies’. Troy even told Hopper Mike “flew” . That is another  Mike is gay hint ) . So he probably doesn't even want to fathom the possibility he may be gay or in love with his male best friend (when taught it's something 'bad' by his peers and 80s society as a whole ). Especially when he sees how people already malign Will over such rumors.

So to Mike - Max is the personification of the thing he lacks - the ability to be attracted to girls-the innate ability to be what most deem 'normal'. The ability to be like his friends. And he sadly resents her for this.

Then in s3 max encourages el to dump him ( and says to Mike it's not just a break). And constantly points out how mileven just isn't that great- she yells at Mike about how he doesn't trust el nor respects her ability to make decisions. And tells el that he lied to her. And she also points out to Mike- how el was the one who decided to spy on him (and disrespect his privacy/boundaries). And even worse for Mike's straight facade with El (max gives El a feminine makeover in s3). Something he’s not genuinely attracted to.  

 To Mike(at least subconsciously)- she is a constant reminder that he’s not straight (in s2). And in s3, she points how the flaws of his comp het relationship with el .Which infuriates him .

So when Mike starts to accept his queerness- I suspect their relationship will improve.

Heck The fact MAX & Will also have a lot in common (but he’s only attracted to Will- a boy and not Max) could be another subconscious reminder he’s not straight (Which causes an additional layer of resentment).For max & Will: Both are poor,  their bio dads both abandoned them leaving them with their respective mothers, both like horror films, comics and videogames, both are the youngest of 2 siblings.  And both use bats in anger when emulating their ab*sers ,and both are heavily associated with rainbows (Max literally has a rainbow shirt collection/ Will's rainbow ship and the many other rainbow refs).  Both also yell at Mike about how sh*tty they think the mileven relationship is in s3. Both have posters relating to beach films (Will has jaws /Max has endless summer).Costume designers said his s1's vest was supposed to be in homage to Marty mcfly (from back to the future). They gave Max Marty mcfly's skateboard in s2.And on Halloween she even dresses up as a movie-character who as a child dressed up as a clown on Halloween (Will’s fear/ what triggered him on Halloween) and whose surname is Myers (Byers?)  

I also think Mike was a bit jealous and initially thought Will was into her too. But I think the prior reasons I just discussed was actually the main reason for the animosity.

*this annon pointed out a detail that pretty much just verified my first assumption.To mike- max's very presence is a constant reminder he's not straight-similar to troy doing the same thing (albeit for very diff reasons ). Her presence (and his inability to have a crush on her-like Lucas &Dustin do) makes him at least subconsciously start to think about things- he'd rather not. Like why was he attracted to the boyish looking el (who resembled Will)? And who he barely spoke to, and in his own words he “didn’t even know’ cause he only knew her for a week? But NOT max (who he knew for the same amount of time),and who Lucas/dustin have immediate attraction to/ think is “awesome”  without talking to her (because of their feminine looks) .To Mike - Max is the personification of the thing he lacks - the ability to be attracted to girls-the innate ability to be what most deem 'normal'. We see this by the use of one word....

Having Max in s2 mention how Mike thought El was “awesome”  . Is just icing on the cake- showing she’s a reminder to Mike he isn’t straight (and his romantic feelings for El aren’t genuine). She literally threw Mike’s words back at him-where Mike was judging his friends for thinking Max was “awesome” because of her looks-not words.When Mike did the same to El.

Lucas even says the ‘no/yes’ line next to Mike’s heart sign (which has a rainbow propelling a heart on it). In s3 (when dating el) he removed this sign.  But symbolically we see it follow him everywhere -via El’s room having a drawing with a rainbow propelling a heart on it- with Mike’s name on it.  Which is shown when he’s kissing El- showing no matter how hard he tries to act straight-he can’t escape his rainbow/ queerness.

In fact,in s3, when Max points out the flaws in m*leven she is wearing  rainbow shirts (illustrating that she -like the rainbow-sign & drawing is a constant reminder to Mike that he’s not straight -which  follows him everywhere). Similar to Troy who (in his rainbow shirt) interrupts Lucas claiming Mike has a crush on El- only to announce Will is gay/ and to only target Mike with such remarks after this .

Not to mention this whole -Max reminding him he’s not straight and can’t like girls in s2-3 just ties in to my theory Mike was projecting when telling Will “it’s not my fault you don’t like girls.”-here. And the whole theory Mike is emulating his parent’s  loveless marriage with El-mentioned it here.

Something about a woman so effortlessly handing an overconfident man his ass just tickles the ovaries so splendidly, ya know? i could (and will) dine on that scene for years to come, i mean, let's be honest- how could you not:

My thoughts:

Full disclosure i'm not a hardcore ereannie shipper (altho i do crush HARD on Annie) but this is my preferred pairing for each of them, especially from the start. I just love a ship dynamic where both characters plays a huge role in each other's development, shared parallels and shown to have a mutual respect for one another. Honestly, if Eren had shown even a fraction of respect he had for Annie to Mikasa it would have made the ending much more palatable for me. Also I am so WEAK for ships where the women could very easily whoop the man's ass, just love the power dynamics involved lol. Admittedly my fervor for the ship waned when Isayama in his infinite wisdom kept Annie stuck in a crystal for 84 years/out of the story, and with the Return to Shiganshina/Marley arc i bought into Erehisu/Eren's baby theory because...well, it made perfect sense given logical character motivations and their development.

What makes me happy about them:

My headcanon of how Annie will time and again beat the crap out of Eren and he freakin McLoves it (he asks for it honestly) XD

What makes me sad about them:

How they didn't have any interaction in the ending/Marley arc. And as with most characters in SNK, it was upsetting how their characters ended up, development-wise. Annie brought back more like an afterthought but had no real service to the plot and ultimately just becomes a female love interest in the end. Eren...jesus i dont even know where to begin so i wont lol

Things done in fanfic that annoys me:

I'll be honest- i haven't read exclusively ereannie fics, what ive read is usually them as a secondary ship in a RM fic. In this instance, I would say one thing i dont generally vibe with so much is infidelity/cheating- its not something i can condone in real life and i have a mutual respect kink so it kinda takes me out of a fic/hard for me to invest fully in that kind of story.

Things I look for in fanfic:

hot steamy smut! (with explicit consent of course)

My wishlist:

I really wish they had an explicit interaction in the end. To think how much Annie contributed to Eren's character (and vice versa) and not having them say one word to each other? What a waste. (i know he "supposedly" spoke to her in PATHS but that whole sequence seemed pretty ehhh/hand-wavey to me honestly). Even Annie having one line/POV during the titan fest brawl would have sufficed- "Eren...was this who you were all along? I could never imagine you could ever be capable of this..." etc etc

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other:

As i mentioned above, to me Eren with Historia made complete sense given how the manga was progressing/logical motivations/their shared parallels not to mention the character development potential for both was through the roof.

I really vibe with AnnieHitch and Mikannie- i love their dynamic with each other, respectively. I dont mind Aruani (even tho him visiting her alone repeatedly and her having no choice in the matter can come off a bit…creepy...but hey isayama’s warped sense of romance rears it’s questionable head again) BUT i love how Hitch calls him out on it XD

Anyway I think i'd like it better if Annie wasn't brought back to essentially become a female love interest :/

My happily ever after for them:

Honestly...just an ending where their characters aren't completely butchered *sighs*

Actually...on second thought an ending where Annie personally whoops Eren's ass into the next dimension/PATHs or whatever (and he thanks her for it comes to his senses) because i am a whore for those kind of scenes XD

“I don’t, Yamaguchi,” Tsukishima said, eyes turning cold, “I am not gay - I am a straight, heterosexual male. I love women and women only.”

That small hug was the only thing stopping me from letting all hell break loose.

I had kept this in ever since I knew Tsuki - ever since he saw him in that park.

I knew everything about the tall male. The way he smiles, the way he hides his anger when he wants to be respectful, his secret love for dinosaurs, his soft side, his small quirks - I knew it all like the back of his hand.

I knew what he needed to be the middle blocker’s lover, and I was willing to sacrifice myself to be the best thing for Tsuki.

One thing was clear in my head; Tsuki felt the exact same way.

“Yamaguchi, I’m sorry. I don’t love you the way you want me to,” Tsukishima said, kneeling beside the green-haired male.

“I don’t believe that.”

I forced his lips on Tsukishima’s.

I closed my eyes, trying to memorise how the lines of his soft and pale lips felt on his - how it softly caressed my lips without even responding to the intimate kiss I was trying to initiate.

I felt Tsukishima trying to push me away, but I didn’t let go of the male’s collar.

He already took my first kiss - what is the difference if I took another?

The second our lips left each other’s, Tsukishima punched my nose.

Blood dripped from my nose, but I couldn’t care less.

“Don’t you fucking call me Tsuki ever again, dumbass. Better yet, don’t call me.”

My last day of high school ended with blood and tears, but the pain in my heart from losing my best friend hurt more.

“You are absolutely sure about this, right?” Hinata said, worry laced in his words.

I open the doors to the tattoo parlour and I was instantly mesmerized. The walls were filled with such intricate designs - sizes ranging from as small as a finger to as big as my whole body. The smell of fresh ink slowly hit me, reminding me of my schooling years.

“I am sure, Hinata. I was planning to do this ever since I was small, either way. I just wished it was under better circumstances,” I reply, eyes locked on all the flower motifs.

I always wanted a tattoo - it didn’t matter how big or small it was. I always thought of how beautiful the idea was - to have something permanently inked on your skin to remind you of who you were. Flowers drew with such hidden meaning, curved lines speaking words of poetry, ideas brought into life - tattoos are an artist’s masterpiece meant to paint on my skin as a canvas.

“Do you want me to stay? I don’t mind waiting here with you - “

“Weren’t you supposed to meet up with Kageyama later today?” I remind him, chuckling.

“That man is late for everything. I think he can handle me coming late for once.”

“I’m seriously okay, Hinata! Go get ready, I’ll send a picture when it’s done,” I say as I push him out of the shop.

“Okay, okay - make sure to send me that picture!” He said as he ran out of the shop.

Why follow me if you’re itching to leave?

“That friend of yours has really bright orange hair - is it dyed or natural?” I hear someone say.

Holy shit, you’re hot.

“Oh - uh- um- It’s natural,” I say, forming some space between us.

You tied half of your hair in a small bun, showing me the small, intricate designs on your neck. Flowers decorated your soft skin, moving down under your shirt’s sleeve. Small golden piercings decorated your ears. They were encrusted with gems of various colours that shifted under the soft lighting gracing your skin.

You looked so beautiful I couldn’t stop staring.

“So, do you have an appointment?” You asked, breaking my train of thought.

“N- no.”

Stop stuttering, Yamaguchi Tadashi.

“First time, huh?” you smiled, “Don’t worry, you’ll be fine. The pain is different for everyone, but I think you can handle it.”

“T-Thanks.”

God, stop stuttering.

“God, you’re cute,” you laughed while looking at my frazzled face, “Don’t worry, my dearest client - you’re in capable hands. Come - let’s discuss your design, shall we?”

You grabbed my wrist and brought me to your corner, leaving me blushed mess.

As we were walking, I got to see the back of your neck - more specifically, a part of your tattoo.

It was a blossoming rose - a huge one. It had vines that grew from it, encircling your whole neck, moving down your shirt and reaching the tips of your fingers. Smaller roses grew from it, branching even smaller vines surrounded by leaves.

I wanted to know the story behind that tattoo. It looked so beautiful yet so dark. The thorns that came from certain vines alarmed me, but I kept my thoughts to myself. My attention was brought to your piercings - more specifically, the design of the encrusted jewels. They were flowers, as well. In the middle of each jewel held a line of gold that branched out, just like the vines of your tattoo.

“Oh, you’re looking at my tattoo and piercings, aren’t you?” You ask, eyebrow raised.

“Is it okay if I am?” I ask, worried.

You laughed.

“Of course it’s fine. Who would get a tattoo and not prepare for all the staring? Not going to lie, here - these piercings and that tattoo help me fuel my ego. After all, everyone’s staring at them,” you joke, playing with your hair.

You sit on your chair, pointing at the one opposite you.

“What are you waiting for? Sit.”

“So, you want some small vines surrounding a moon, right?” You ask as you brought out your tablet.

“Yeah, on my middle finger.”

I had enough of his little orders - I’ll twist his words into something much more meaningful. If the Moon isn’t willing to dance with the mountains, let the vines make the Moon feel the mountain’s pain from its rejection.

“That sounds really pretty,” you say, smiling at me, “Give me a minute - I’ll do a rough sketch and you can tell me if it’s to your liking.”

You took out the tablet’s pen tool and began to sketch. I eyed your eyes as you continued to sketch what would be my tattoo.

Thanks to the light from the tablet, I could see a part of another tattoo hidden under your shirt.

It was multiple birds flying across your collarbones, but there was one bird that moved to your neck. It was a smaller bird - much, much smaller. However, its wings were bigger - bigger than the other birds’.

“My family isn’t very appreciative of my more artistic side,” you began, knowing I wanted to know the story behind it.

“I love art - all types of art. Writing, drawing, painting - I loved how you could make a whole new world just with a few lines. My family…” you paused, “As much as they loved me, they couldn’t see a world where I could make a living from it. They tried to throw away this side of me, but the more they pushed it away, the more I needed it.”

You raised your tablet, showing me your sketch.

I loved it.

It was a crescent moon, wrapped in vines. Vines grew both upwards and below, accompanied by stars. Small buds were growing from the ends of the vines, leaves surrounding them.

I don’t know how you did it, but you captured all I felt about him in a few minutes - it astounded me.

“I took a few creative liberties, but-”

“It’s amazing - don’t change it.”

You’re amazing.

You smiled, getting off your chair.

“Head to that room,” you pointed to the smaller room right beside us, “I’ll get all the tools ready.”

“You ready?” you said, placing the pen right above my middle finger.

Why did I choose my middle finger for my first tattoo? It’s literally right on a bone, it’s going to hurt like hell.

“I guess…” I whisper.

“It won’t be that painful - trust me. People overexaggerate,” you say, trying to calm me down.

People weren’t overexaggerating - it hurt.

It hurt a lot.

I bit my lip, holding back the scream on the end of my lips.

“Hold on,” you said, removing the pen.

You soon came back with candy and began to unwrap it.

“Open your mouth, my liege.”

After chuckling, I opened my mouth and you plopped the sweet in my mouth.

Ooh, mango.

“Focus on the sweet, okay?” You said, patting my back.

It felt less painful, surprisingly. Focusing on the sweet rolling in my mouth helped reduce the pain significantly.

I raised my head slightly so that I could see your intense focus on my finger. You were biting on your lower lip as you slowly moved the pen on my finger, following the temporary tattoo you made earlier as a guide. You were annoyed by a strand of your hair that refused to stay behind on your ear - your anger-filled expression said it all.

Using my other hand, I pushed it behind your ear to help you focus.

A soft thank you came from you as you continued.

Blood rushed to my cheeks the minute those words left your lips.

So cute.

“You didn’t finish your story…” I asked, trying to end the awkward silence.

“It was that interesting to you?” you smiled.

You’re interesting, Y/N.

I nod.

“I asked them if I could draw again. I didn’t want to lose that skill I finetuned all my life - it felt so wrong. They thought I’d never succeed in life if I focused on ‘these useless hobbies’ and shouted at me. I remember crying for hours, but they didn’t care,” you say as you turn off the pen, wiping the tip.

“I began to spend more hours in school just so that I could scribble and draw. They’d never know what I did there - all the drawings I did, all the stories I wrote, all the songs I sang. I am not like my parents. I strayed from the thought of ‘art is useless’- I am the bird moving away from the flock,” you said, turning your chair towards me.

“Why did they hate art? It’s something that makes you happy - If it’s something you like, you should do it,” I said, slightly pissed.

Thank God they didn’t listen to them.

“Best part - they have paintings all over the house,” you snickered.

You sighed, stretching your arms in the process.

“I don’t really care about their opinion about it, anyway. I’m no longer under their wing - I’m my own person. I get money by doing the thing I love, and that’s so fulfilling. The only thing they’re paying for right now is my college education - that’s it,” you said as you pressed a wet cloth to my new tattoo.

“Wait - we’re the same age?”

“Yeah, we are,” you smiled.

“I expected you to be way older,” I say, embarrassed.

“I am utterly offended, sir,” you say, feigning sadness.

“Come on!” I say, laughing.

“I am expecting a tip,” you say, walking towards the door.

Okay, I'm really curious about the von Herzigs. Is there any place where you've posted info about your OCs? I'd love to get to know them better!

First of all thank you so much for real I am so moved. ; -; 💜✨😭 I fear there is not so I hope you are ok with the infodump here 🙈 I created Teddy out, hm you could say boredom when I finished the first game but couldn't play the second game and I kept on adding and adding. All I wanted was a small mystery that I could draw xD It's just that I feel a little weird knowing that there are so many characters underdeveloped that deserve so much love as well, so yea thank you again ✨ '^^

I do have to admit that they are not fully developed yet might have some holes here and there. Some dates because I made notes for myself. their birthdates, culture and some events (at the side you can see the age of the mother when they were born)

So where do I begin, Teddy grew up in a really poor family and lived in Hamburg, the Gängeviertel. (At that time it was one of Europe's biggest slums). So poor in fact they sold their first two children. They don't know exactly where they went, but kept their next and third child because the mother refused to give her away. (Her arguments were that they really need more “helping hands”) Shortly after that Theodor or for short Teddy was born. They might have been 5 years apart but Henriette did everything for her little brother. She was a factory worker but I can already mention it here she did other stuff, let's say, ehem behind the scenes. Tried everything to get money for a her little brother. He really loved her and looked up to her a lot (writing it now is a little weird … like I said I only played the first game at that point . -. if you get what I mean, also an excuse for me to make him drink his respect women juice). In the year 1888 she was murdered. This event made Teddy swore to find out what happened. He wanted to work for the police. Before that he shortly served the military (Prussian lol). His education wasn't the worst thanks to his sister he doesn't know she had enough money for him. She stashed it away for him in case of her death she wrote a letter for him. She was worried that something might happen to her but I fear for a totally different reason that eventually got her later. Jumping forward, his father died 1895 due to Cholera. There was a Cholera epidemic in Hamburg around that time. He was just too weak to survive it eventually would become a victim as well. But as fate wanted it to be the mother was for the last time pregnant. She died in childbirth she was rather weak (in addition rather old for that, 48) and honestly didn't expect it. After he lost his parents he took his little baby sister, wrapped her in his treasured scarf and ran away. He got that scarf from his older sister as well. Another reason he chose to run was that after all those years he felt watched and slightly paranoid about that. He escaped to the UK because he had some hints that his siblings went there (his mother made the mistake at the funeral to mention that she lost too many children already.), he wanted to look into that as well but another matter had a higher priority to him. Speaking of which, which isn't quite refined yet, the father had secrets as well. Whatever he did it angered another family and someone is trying to get them. The von Herzigs weren't always poor. I drew a picture of some items Teddy got. It's not much and is pretty much all he has of his old life at this point (well missing a family photo the only one they ever had). He got the sword and pen from his father.

Teddy has no idea how valuable the pen is lmao but he uses it on a daily basis. Personality-wise he is the kindest man you can imagine. He wants to help everyone tried to be rather optimistic considering his tragic life quite an achievement. Doesn't mean he won't be sad but he tries his best for his little sister, many think it's his daughter in a sense she is. Now to the other two siblings. They were adopted by a wealthy family that had trouble getting children. So their childhood wasn't too bad. They have no idea that they are adopted. And in Ace Attorney style of course one is a judge and the other a forensic doctor xD I gave them only names that their biological parent would have given them. So I am still thinking of their names. The older of the two is loud, loved to laugh and really extroverted, while the younger of them is timid, soft spoken.

I think that pretty much sums it all up what I got so far of them.

-You had started chewing on the end of your pencil in the midst of your laughter

-His wide eyes were brimming with genuine curiosity  

-You kind of got a kick out of how candid he was about such heavy conversation topics

-“Not as much as they should be but, I’m actually writing a paper on a similar topic right now...”

-This caused a brilliant grin to come over his face

-It was almost blinding really

-And it made your heartbeat all wonky  

-“Of course you are. You look smart like that...”

-He had backed away from your table then, seemingly satisfied

-Had you passed the vibe check?

-“I’ll leave you to your paper.” He nodded to your laptop but as he walked away, he pivoted back towards you on and the heel of his combat boot, “welcome to Blackheart Bakery by the way, let me know if I can get you anything.”

-Another brilliant smile is sent your way  

-“Thank you.” You had smiled back, sending a tiny wave his way

-Which in turn, made HIS heartbeat all wonky  

-You’re cute

-Like really cute

-And despite how often it may seem like his eyes are elsewhere

-They are ALWAYS on you

-Every chance he gets he is glancing your way

-Smirking to himself at how endearing you are

-Brow furrowed

-Lips pouted in concentration

-The man waiting for his drink has arched a brow at this point, wondering if his barista has lost his mind

-“Uhhh medium...” he checks the cup for his awful hand writing, “ghostly toasted marshmallow latte!”

-“Thanks.” The guy mutters, throwing a judging look Jungkook's way  

-He gives him a lazy salute as the guy struts away with a briefcase in tow

-“Thaaanks.” Jungkook mocks him, his face scrunching up in annoyance  

-Stupid man

-With his stupid briefcase  

-As Jungkook is pulling out a batch of cream cheese frosting stuffed pumpkin muffins  

-Or as Jungkook calls them

-Movement at the counter catches his eye

-”oh shit...” He grunts, hastily wiping his hands on his apron and rushing over to the counter

-or even slump to greet any new guests at this hour

-he means 45 minutes before closing

-tonight happens to be a Friday night and the person awaiting his assistance is

-”You’re still here?” He gawks, the black polish on his nails glimmering as he punches in a few keys on the register

-You offer him a tired and slightly amused smile, “No. Y/N died around 4:30, you’re speaking to her ghost. Please leave your message after the tone.”

-Jungkook cracks a smile, his palms resting on flat on the counter, “Do ghosts check their voicemails?”

-“Oh of course not but, I will be checking yours because you have access to caffeine.”

-Jungkook laughs

-no...he giggles  

-and it’s fucking cute

-but you digress

-“I feel like I should cut you off...this is your 4th latte; I’m pretty sure you’re 80% caffeine at this point...”

-“Noooo, don’t do that.” You whine slumping against the counter, “I just need to finish this one page...”

-He quirks a brow as he scribbles something on your cup, unimpressed with your statement, “You said that three hours ago. I’ll make you another one but I’m not putting an extra shot in.”

-Your face turns up in protest but he click his tongue against his teeth , shaking a manicured finger at you

-“Ah ah- nope. I don’t want to hear it. You either take that or I’m making you a hot chocolate and shutting the buildings power off.”

-With a dramatic sigh, you concede

-“Ugh fine. Here-” You go to hand him your debit card but he shakes his head

-“Put that away.”

-You want to protest but given the fact that he’s made the rules thus far during this interaction, you doubt you’d be able to stop him.

-A smile appears on your face then, appreciative of his generosity

-“Thank you.”

-He merely grins, waving you off before rolling up the sleeves of his black Blink 182 shirt

-as soon as his tattoos are out

-all the moisture leaves your mouth

-you try your hardest not to stare at him

-expertly, he eases the espresso shots into the milk, tongue poking between his lips in concentration

-and you

-being sleep-deprived

-and a little loopy

-decide to  

-flirt????????

-if you could even call it that

-which you could but you shouldn’t

-“For the record, when I finally dig my way out of this of mountain of death I’m stuck in, I will definitely take you up on that hot chocolate...”

-Jungkook’s brow quirks at the tone of your voice, his hands suddenly itching with nerves

-“My hot chocolate is legendary. You won’t be disappointed.” His lips display a small grin as he places the lid atop your finished latte, “Also mountain of death is a great name and I WILL be stealing it.”

-You giggle

-“and I WILL be suing you for copyright.”

-He laughs now, wiping up the bit of milk he spilled

-the sinewy muscles in his forearm tensing and untensing

“Good luck getting me to show up to court.”

-and that’s kinda how it was between you and Jungkook

-for like six months

-it was a little bit flirty but never anything to push either over you over the edge.

-and speaking of being on edge

-recently, you had gone from vacationing in your timeshare on the edge

-to signing a 35 year mortgage contract  

-4 bedrooms

-2.5 bathrooms

-of pure

-unrelenting

-stress

-you could feel it in the middle of your back

-the worst part being

-it was Halloween

-from what you could see he was wearing a skeleton onesie

-He notices you instantly, his face turning up in surprise

-you offer up a small wave and head over to your table

-as you’re setting everything up, you feel a presence (not the spooky kind) at the end of your table

-it’s Jungkook and he has your regular order in one hand, along with something wrapped in skeleton-patterned parchment paper

-“I know, I know.” You acknowledge before he’s even able to chide you for being here

-He smirks “What are you doing studying on the holiest day of the year??”

-You giggle

-“The holiest day of the year huh?”

-“Of course. Halloween is the one night a year that the homies can dress like total -sluts and no one can say anything about it.”

-This makes you giggle again

-“And you went with slutty skeleton huh? I love it- it’s like as naked as you can possibly get.”

-He chuckles, gesturing to his costume

-His floppy black hair getting in his face

-“Damn right baby.”

-The way he grins tells you the pet name is a joke

-But the deepening of his voice gets to you anyway

-“Thank you for this. I promise I’ll get out of your hair early tonight.”

-“The only thing I’m worried about getting out of my hair is this white spray paint. You’re welcome to stay as long as you want.”

-He’s put a streak of white spray paint in his raven locks

-Why? You’re not certain

-Does it look good on him, like everything else does?

-Absolutely

-Its been a few hours since your night of studying began

-Jungkook’s dropped off two free lattes since you’ve arrived  

-As well as a slice of his ‘I write cinnamon not tragedies’ bread

-Which was equally hilarious and delicious

-You caught him glancing over at your table a few times but you didn’t think anything of it

-He’s probably just checking to make sure that no one needs your table

-His bakery is packed most nights but Halloween is a special night at Blackheart Bakery

-He has a trick or treat counter set up with free (homemade) candy

-A photo op complete with a fake haunted house backdrop

-A Halloween playlist

-And a bunch of discounts on his signature lattes and food

-you watch him amongst the chaos

-He is completely unfazed

-He seems elated at the amount of customers he has

-he grins and laughs at something a man dressed like Thor says at his counter

-he seems entirely in his element

-you realize that the denial tactics you’ve been trying out haven’t been working

-because this floppy haired, tattooed, slutty skeleton/baker kind of has a hold on your heart

-you’ve been friends for a long time now

-he always makes sure you’re taken care of

-he always asks if you’re ok

-he always gives you this little grin

-it feels like a secret sometimes

-but maybe it’s been his way of letting you know where he stands

-he’s been bringing you lattes and pastries for months now

-he never charges you full-price

-he always reminds you not to work too hard

-you look back over at the counter to see him bending over and handing a skeleton cookie to a little girl dressed like Captain Marvel

-he laughs at something she says

-his eyes focused entirely on her and whatever she seems to be proclaiming to him

-You can feel his eyes on you as you get up to take your place in line

-luckily there isn’t anyone else behind you

-rejection with an audience would certainly be worse

-Jungkook has his witty comment ready for you as you approach the register

-“I know for a fact you haven’t finished your third latte and I’m not making you another one until-“

-“I’m not here for another latte.” You laugh, trying to ignore the thrashing of your heartbeat

-“No? Well, are you finally going to try my Welcome to the Blackened Chicken Parade Burger then? I’ve been asking you for like three weeks…”

-god he’s fucking cute

-“I’m here to ask you out.”

-Jungkook swears he feels his heart stop

-“You’re here to…”

-He repeats the first part of your response as his he didn’t hear you

-his black fingernails anxiously tapping against the countertop

-“I’m here to ask you out- on a date.”

-Jungkooks face seems to go through various stages of confusion before a shy smirk presents itself on his pretty mouth

-“Me? You’re asking me-“ He places a hand on his chest, “-out on a date?”

-“Yes!” You laugh, slapping the counter a bit too hard, your nerves getting the best of you, “Are you down?”

-He shakes his head but his answer contradicts his movements

-“So down, beyond down. There is no one on Earth who is more DOWN than I am. Yes. My answer is yes. 50000% yes.”

-you can’t help the smile on your lips

-“great. So are you free next Friday then?”

-He grins with his teeth this time, nodding emphatically  

-“Consider the shop closed.”

-and so it was

-you returned to your table moments later  

-feeling on top of the world

-you did it

-you asked Jungkook out

-and he said yes

-and now you

-NOW YOU HAVE A DATE WITH JUNGKOOK

-LOOK AT YOU GO

-TAKING CHARGE

-you try your best to engage with your studies but with Jungkook on your mind

-its really hard

-roughly two hours later, things at the bakery have finally started to slow down

-“Hey uh- Y/N?”

-Jungkook's voice that pulls you out of your studying trance

-he’s standing at the entrance of his back room, waving you over with his hand

-and who are you to deny him?

-you make your way over there, annoyed at the instant increase in your heartrate

-he stands awkwardly to the side and gestures to the boxes on the metal rack

-“I just remembered that I’ve never given you a tour of the place. I give all my regulars a tour of the stockroom and my office and uh-”

-he cuts himself off and clumsily cups your cheek

-he pulls you into a kiss

-a really good kiss

-his lips are so warm

-he smells like cinnamon

-you could literally die happy

-The ridiculous nature of his first attempt to kiss you, makes you giggle into his mouth

-you feel him smile, his hands smushing your cheeks together as he pulls away

-“Ok I lied. There is no tour. I’ve just been watching you focus on your computer for the last two hours and you’re just really fucking cute and-”

-this time, it’s you who cuts him off

-“You better give me an actual tour next time. How else am I going to steal your secret recipes?”

-he scoffs in mock offense

-“Ah ha! So that’s the only reason you asked me out huh? Should I be calling you Plankton instead of Y/N? Ew no wait- that would make me Mr. Krabs and he’s a dirty capitalist...”

-You laugh, “Oooh good point. Guess you���ll just have to be Karen, my computer wife.”

-This makes him laugh now and the sound warms your soul

-“I could live with that- I like your last name better anyways.”

-with another kiss, your adventure with the emo baker of your dreams begins

-It may have been Halloween but it sure felt like Christmas to you
