#after writing the fic last night i'm having EMOTIONS ABOUT THEM

my favorite hc is that the chb head counselors (specifically the ones who were there and experienced the manhattan battle) are best friends.
they have sleepovers in the poseidon cabin (since it's just percy and tyson), they have monthy group outings where they just go out and get to be kids, sally invites them over at least once a week for dinner, they walk to activities together, they're so clingy it's ridiculous.
the campers who experienced the battle get it, because there's only so much death and parentification a literal teenager can take before needing to rely on others, so seeing percy carrying will piggy-back out of the med cabin, or watching clarisse chasing one of the stoll brothers around camp, or seeing annabeth, chris, and katie engaged in a heated debate over which area to plant the newest strawberry field, it's all normal to them.
they will absolutely die if they are not within twelve feet of each other, they legally have to be around each other at all times or else they will lose it. when percy got back to chb after his disappearance, the head counselors spent the day inside the poseidon cabin, all piled together in a demigod puppy pile, percy at the center with clarisse's elbow in his ribs, katie's knee hitting his temple, one of the stoll brothers attempting to use his knee as a back rest, pollux's hand dangerously close to smacking him in the face, and the biggest, happiest smile on his face.

forgetful.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: minho x reader genre/warnings: established relationship, fluff; minho is lowkey the biggest simp wbk, unedited ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ word count: 0.9k note: first fic of 2024! don't look at me tho, at this point i just keep writing the most self-indulgent shit lol
as always, i’d appreciate any thoughts or comments you may have, and please drop a like and/or reblog if you enjoy reading ♡

Tumblr media
minho is the type to - 15 seconds after he meets you for your weekly date night - ask you where your gloves are when he sees your reddened and shivering hands. there was a greeting kiss preceding the question, of course.
"i think we both know what the answer is," you tell him, trying to rub your hands together for warmth until he takes them and presses your cold fingers against his cheeks, before he kisses your palms.
"what’s the point of getting matching gloves if you keep forgetting yours?" he says, a light scolding tone in his voice that matches the slight frown tugging on his brows.
"it's not my fault!" you try to defend yourself. you'd raise your hands for emphasis, but he's still keeping them near his face, alternating between kisses and blowing into them to get you all nice and toasty. "i keep them by the door on purpose so i wouldn't forget to take them with me when i go out. you have to at least give me a little credit for that. i just... never actually remember to bring them."
he rolls his eyes, an act that most would find patronizing especially if minho is the one who's doing it. but when it comes to you, everything minho does is full of affection, even as he pretends to be annoyed.
"what am i going to do with you?" he mutters like a disappointed parent.
"it was your idea to get the gloves. i didn't really need them though. i have you."
"but i'm not with you all the time, baby. you need to keep yourself warm."
"well, you're here with me, aren't you? you can keep me warm now. i'll worry about cold hands later."
squishing his cheeks together, you pull him toward you for a swift peck.
despite his exasperated sigh, minho still presses his lips against each of your palms one last time, even turns them over to kiss your knuckles, before he settles on intertwining his left hand with your right one, stuffing them in his coat pocket as he pulls the both of you toward the direction of your dinner reservation.
"wait!" you exclaim, holding up your neglected hand, "what about this one? it's cold too."
he turns to look at you, his face devoid of all emotions as he assesses your so-called dilemma. then, minho lets go of you, telling you to put both your hands in your own pockets.
"come onnn," you lament, pouting at the man in front of you.
"you come on," he retorts. "just do it."
you huff childishly, watching as the breath comes out in a puff of smoke in the cold air, thinking minho is really letting you fend for warmth by yourself for the remaining 10 minutes that it takes to walk to the restaurant.
it's not like you meant to forget the gloves at home.
before you can resume walking, minho moves to stand behind you, pulling you to him, eliciting a surprised oof! from you. he shoves his hands into your pockets, intertwining your fingers once again within the confines of the fabric as he shuffles you forward, his legs on either side of yours so it's easier for you to walk. the thick coats and wool scarves that you're both wearing already make you look like a pair of clumsy bears roaming the street, but with your back pressed against his front like this, you have no doubt that by-passers must be thinking you're two cotton balls waddling in the middle of the city.
"minho!" you laugh, partially embarrassed that people are side-eyeing this strange public display of affection. "stop!"
"you wanted me to keep you warm, didn't you?"
"people are staring!"
"you said you were cold." he seems unfazed though, continuing to nudge you forward like it's the most normal thing in the world. "make up your mind."
"i take it back!"
you do your best to plant your feet firmly on the ground to keep him from moving. it works though, or at least it staggers him enough for you to wriggle out of his hold. you take a few steps away from minho, and he looks at you with unimpressed eyes.
"i take it back," you repeat. "we're only a couple blocks away. i think i'll manage."
he stares at you for a moment longer, before he reaches into his bag and pulls out a pair of gloves, identical to the matching ones that you two picked out together a few weeks ago.
"how do you have my gloves?"
"these aren't the ones at your place," he clarifies. "this is your backup pair. i went back to the store and got them because i know you never remember to take shit with you."
you don't even try to suppress the grin that tugs on your lips when he walks closer to you, taking your hands and attentively covers your skin with the wool. "so you just... keep them with you at all times now?" you ask.
"pretty much, yeah."
once he's made sure that gloves are hugging your fingers snugly, you pull him down for a kiss, your lips moving together warmly. you feel him smile against you even though he's trying to look stern.
"you love me sooo much," you simper when you break from the kiss.
minho sighs, a long one as if to say yes, unfortunately i do love you very much.
"now come on." this time he does speak aloud. "let's go before they give away our table."
because that's just the kind of person minho is. because no matter how grumpy he may appear from the outside, he's still the type to always think of you and your wellbeing and show up for you even when you don't show up for yourself. no matter how callous his facade is, he is still the type to love you quietly. tenderly. completely.

⭐Illicit Favors @yoongiofmine // myg x f.reader // producer!yoongi, virgin!reader, f2l // 🥰🥵🌩️
📝 When your editor tells you to re-write the chapters of your book because the sex scenes are weak, suggesting you write them from experience, what do you do when you lack any kind of sexual experiences in general? You go to your friend and ask him for help with it.
🗨️ Matchmaker Namjoon!! The premise is funny and leads to slight awkwardness, but it’s so good. I love the reader and Yoongi’s friendship in this. I was left speechless after reading it, I can’t recommend this enough 🙂
⭐Tricks of the Trade @stutterfly // myg x f.reader // body swap!au, soulmates!au, idiots to lovers, frenemies to lovers // 🥰😂🥵
📝 The convenience store across the street from your apartment carries your favorite energy drink. That’s why you frequent it. It’s definitely not because you have a big fat crush on the owner you’ve been flirting with for the better part of a year. Of course your brand of flirting can also be misconstrued as bickering. When a strange man wanders into the store, he thinks you need a little nudge to embrace the strings connecting you. Next thing you know you’re waking up in a body that definitely doesn’t belong to you. You can’t decide if it’s the best or worst thing that’s ever happened to you.
🗨️ This is utterly perfection! It is so funny and hilarious - but it is also insanely smutty! It’s really interesting with body swapping, what they learn about each other, lol. I read this on a day where I was feeling down, and it honestly made my day! 💜Also, now I kinda wanna watch ‘She’s the Man’ 😂
⭐Backtrack @mapofthesea // myg x pjm x reader // producers!yoonmin, assistant!reader, bi!yoongi // 🥵🥰
📝 There’s no telling just how long you’d been stuck in the windowless studio, and you’re just about ready to walk out and forfeit your paycheck for the week, until your bosses strike up an interesting bargain.
🗨️ Holy fuck 🥵 I feel like I need to take a very long shower now 🫣🫣🫣 this is probably one of the dirtiest fics I’ve read. It’s so good 🤤
⭐Workaholic @hobiwonder [10K] // myg x f.reader // “‘strangers” to lovers (I don’t want to spoil!) // 🥵😂🥰
📝 Yoongi needs to relax and Hoseok has many tricks up his sleeve to make him. None of them Yoongi thought included hiring a hooker to pay him a visit one stormy night.
🗨️ Wow okay, this was so freaking great! Like, what??? Incredible! A masterpiece! I really really loved it 🥺 everything was so fucking good, their chemistry, the tense build up ugh, so fucking good! 💯 ✨
⭐What the Moon Saw + Stolen Tides @violetsiren90 // myg x f.reader // non-idol!au, f2l // 🥵🥰🌩️
📝 In the words of the great Stevie Nicks, "Time makes you bolder, even children get older, and I'm getting older too."
🗨️ This is just so fucking beautiful. Everything. About. It. Period. 😭 It is emotional, it is young love, and it is tender and loving - like, Yoongi is just so sweet. Their timing sucks, but thankfully Violet wrote a beautiful drabble to give the couple a lovely ending! 💜 Truly, please go read it, it is so good I was crying and felt so good after, it’s sweet – OKAY I’M SOFT I know.
⭐Oh, darling! [series; completed] @yoongiofmine // myg x f.reader // university!au, non idol au, professor!yoongi, student!reader // 🥰🌩️🥵
📝 Starting your second semester at one of South Korea’s most prestigious universities should be stressful enough. Between juggling classes, good grades and a social life, your plate was full. Hoping to spice up your academic career, you thought it was a good idea to enroll as an assistant for your literature professor, whom you’ve held a very secret and very forbidden crush on for the past several months. What will happen now that you’re forced to work closely together? And what if your crush isn’t as one sided as you thought?
🗨️ Holy fucking shit 🥵🫣😳 This is just one of my favorites series, EVER 💜 This is in my top 10, no questions! ✨
⭐Mami @kithtaehyung // myg x f.reader, knj x f.reader, jhs x f.reader // roommates!au, battle rap!au // 🥵
📝 You somehow have a conversation with Yoongi, and you tell your roommate about a date date.
🗨️ So, so good 🥵 really looking forward to more of this series 🥵 🫣
⭐Damn the Charcuterie Board @bratkook // myg x f.reader x pjm // bestfriends!au, threesome // 🥵
📝 This doesn’t have a summary, so here goes mine; reader has has a sling of unfulfilling sexual times, and in the company of her best friends, she thinks about a video she watched recently. Could they give her what she needed?
🗨️ This has been on my reading list for so freaking long! 🥹 And now I finally got to read it, and damn, it is one of the best, filthiest fics out there. So, so good! 💯🥵
⭐Cotton Candy Computer (1) [series; discontinued] @softyoongiionly // myg x f.reader // hacker!au // 🥵🌩️
📝 Min Yoongi is the top hacker in the world. He has put away countless other cyber criminals all whilst evading detection by virtually everyone he has ever crossed paths with, including the government. The diabolical super hacker that came close to tracking him down is now serving a 10 year prison sentence, all thanks to Yoongi’s handiwork. So what happens when the sentence is shortened unexpectedly? What happens when the biggest threat to public safety is roaming the streets again, determined to get revenge on the man who put him away? What happens when the worlds most infamous hacker just so happens to manage your local Mikrokosmic Electronics? A terabyte of trouble.
🗨️ Shit this was incredibly good!!!! Why isn’t it finished? 😭 I don’t usually read unfinished or discontinued series, but the summary really had me and I just had to read it – and now I’m hooked and I want more of this sexy hot hacker Yoongi! 😭 The story was also just so well written and the chemistry between reader and oc was so fucking perfect, and don’t get me started on the smut, like ugh 🥵 Gosh, I’m so sad there aren’t more parts to it (like the author planned four parts). But it’s so so good, and the cliffhanger isn’t horrible (in terms of wanting to read the next chapter). It can definitely be read as a one shot, I just really, really wished there was more, because, fuck, it was perfect! 💯💜✨
⭐Three Tangerines [series; ongoing] @kithtaehyung // myg x f.reader // fuckboy!yoongi, brother’s best friend!au, age gap!au // 🌩️🥵
📝 Throughout high school, you sometimes caught glimpses of your brother’s older friends: some of them were sweet, some of them were smart. but the one closest to him? that guy was a total f*ckboy from day one. after a foray of horrid relationships spanning years - ending with one that broke up with you for an alarming reason - you needed advice on what the hell you were doing wrong… and this wasn’t a conversation for anyone sweet or smart.
🗨️ I will keep screaming about Ryen and 3tan, yes. And if you have not read it yet, please take 3-7 days off from work or school to do so 😂
⭐Sinful Lust [completed series] @oddinary4bts [71.9K]  // myg x f.reader x jjk // slice of life!au, bisexual boyfriend!yoongi // 🥵🌩️🌩️🌩️
📝 in an attempt to spice up your bedroom life with your boyfriend Min Yoongi, you suggest bringing another man into the action. Yoongi seems reluctant at first, but when you mention his friend Jeon Jungkook, he can’t deny his attraction. All that’s left to do is to convince Jungkook into participating...
🗨️ this one is special to me (as is everything Ella writes honestly). This one is very controversial because of the cheating aspect in it, but it feels so real and it’s very well handled! I love it! It’s very angsty too, made me cry multiple times– I was just so invested in it! I’m really trying not to spoil too much (I already have lol). Just, read it okay??? ✨
⭐F*ck Christmas  @sailoryooons [23.4K] // myg x f.reader // f2l // 🥰🥵
📝 Making hating Christmas your entire personality was never the plan. Then again, it seems bad things only ever happen around Christmas - like discovering your fiancé cheating on you, forcing you to move back to your sleepy hometown. But Min Yoongi happens to love Christmas, and if there is one thing your very stubborn childhood crush is going to do, it’s try to reignite your Christmas spirit. Even if he has to force-feed it to you with gingerbread cookies and too-sweet eggnog.
🗨️ Gosh, I remember reading this sometime last year and it was perfection - it still is! ✨ It’s so so so fucking good. If you haven’t read it, please do so 🥹 it’s also one of the best Christmasy fics 💜
⭐Eargasm + Eargasm II @lavishedinjimin [9.5K + 14K]  // myg x f.reader // phonesex!au, sexhotline!au // 🥵
📝 the idea of having your first ever orgasm by talking to a hot, random stranger through your phone scares the living hell out of you, but maybe it won’t be as bad as you think.
🗨️ holy fuck, FUCK. this is insane 🥵🥵🥵
⭐Less of Them [ongoing series] @casuallyimagining [9.9K]  // myg x f.reader // established relationship, arranged marriage!au, star-crossed lovers // 🥵🌩️🥰🪄
📝 as the daughter of one of the oldest families in the kingdom, when the king decides that it's you he wishes to marry, you're forced to make a decision and fulfill your duty, leaving behind everything you've ever known--and the only man you've ever loved.
🗨️ PLEASE, PLEASE— FUCKING PLEASE. If you have not read this one yet. Please do it now 😭🥺 It made me cry in the best way possible! The world building, the characters, their love for each other shines to fucking bright and then– [spoiler] READ IT yelling with hands frantically moving above my head
⭐Things that Grow @violetsiren90 [0.9k]  // myg x f.reader // established relationship, idol!au // 🥰🌩️
📝 the idea of having your first ever orgasm by talking to a hot, random stranger through your phone scares the living hell out of you, but maybe it won’t be as bad as you think.
🗨️ it is so fucking beautiful, I can’t even begin to articulate… fuck. I know it’s very short, but dammit I love it. Every single freaking word in this is PERFECTION.
⭐Hard Liquor @chateautae [8k]  // myg x f.reader x jjk // business!au, age!au, executive boss!yoongi x employee!reader // 🥵
📝 your dull evening at a bar becomes hopeful when your mysterious, handsome boss min yoongi shows you the ropes on everything alcohol, but shows you much more when he ends up buried deep inside you.
🗨️ it was SO FUCKING INCREDIBLE like I don’t even know where to begin??? The smut??? That has left me in utter need of Holy Water, because DAMN 🥵 The writing, flow of the story was also just 💯✨
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is my little corner with my own fics— I don’t write that much (I prefer to read), but it would mean a lot to me if you checked out my work or read it. You don’t have to, it’s up to you of course 🥰
⭐Friendcation [110.5k] // myg x f. reader // roadtrip!au/camping!au, f2bfwb2l, mechanic!Yoongi // 🥵🥰😂
📝going camping with your best friends seemed like a brilliant idea when you initially made the plans. But when you harbor secret feelings for one of them, what will become of you being close confined for three months? Trouble, that’s what.
🗨️ you might laugh, but this is very special to me because it’s the first long fic I wrote and I wrote it because I missed my sister and brother-in-law (they were going on a roadtrip across Europe, lol).
⭐Learn to Love Again [19.4k ] // myg x f. reader // hybrid!au (shapeshifter!yoongi), s2l, slice of life!au // 🌩️👻🥵🥰
📝people always leave. They become beautiful stars shining bright in the night sky. When life hands you lemons, you’ve been told to make lemonade, but that is hard when your soul and heart is breaking apart. When you rescue a tiny cat and meet a handsome stranger in the cafe, you finally feel yourself healing – but when they too leave, how are you going to learn to love again?
🗨️ this one is quite sad, but I really adore it. I wrote it when I was very depressed, so it’s very heavy in that department 🥲
Tumblr media
And as a something little extra, here’s a few fics that I haven’t had the time to read yet, but damn I’m buzzing to get to read them:
Those Eyes Chico [ongoing series] @kookslastbutton
Burden @casuallyimagining
Pour some sugar on me @yoonia
Turbulence [AO3] by orphan_account
Only Yesterday [completed series] @borathae

Happy birthday to our Lotus flowers, YOONGI!!!! 🥳💜✨

Humanity’s Most Favored Fantasy (Alastor x Reader)
Paring: Alastor x Reader
Description: It wasn't love. Alastor didn't feel love, not anymore. He'd lost that part of himself the day he died so it couldn't be love, could it?
Warnings: Look, I'm writing and it's not for a request. Angst. It's always angst. I just love Alastor's inhumanity, what can I say? This bitch is in denial. Also, bodies, blood, death, no gore but like, eh. Also Adam is in this one and he's his own warning. Loose Mistki quoting at one part. Also a loose Sappho quote “pale as grass” and self harm.

A/N My classics major side came out a little bit in this one lol. Also I have a big classics major side fic in the wings so if you guys like this, just wait. Also Sir Pentious is from the 1800s so he for sure had a classical education. Also the title came from an article I was reading about the history of witchcraft for one of my classes.
Tumblr media
The most complex and yet the most simple of the human emotions. Feared by some, wielded by others, out of reach for many, perennial for more still, and taken as easily as a breath of air by a solemn few. What a strange thing, love.
It was this last category that bewitched Alastor. Even when he had been alive, he had never understood the people like that, the ones who took heartbreak in stride, the ones who shared any love they had the minute they felt it with everyone and everything. The ones who weren't paralyzed by potential loss or violent embarrassment.
The people who feared love made sense. It had a vast capacity for harm, it was able to destroy without a second thought. Even when it was good, love could be devastating. Those who wielded it as their weapon of choice nearly fell into a subcategory of this group. They used other people's fear of the matter against them or they lured people in to get what they wanted and threw them to the curb without a second glance.
Everyone on earth, living or dead, had felt at least once that love was out of their reach, Alastor reasoned. Hopelessness is one of the most vital parts of the human condition, after all.
Perennial was the category in which most people fell. Love came and went. It lived and died, but always returned like the plants he had named this grouping for.
Then there were people like Y/n. Not a day went by where she wasn't explaining how much she adored something random or telling people she loved them, throwing the word around as if it had no weight, as if it was the easiest thing in the world to love, to share love. When Angel had made some snide remark about everything being her alleged 'favorite thing,' Y/n had quickly replied, saying:
"Aren't I lucky for that? Isn't that just wonderful?"
Alastor couldn't tell in which category he fell or what his opinion was about that answer of hers. One thing he did know was that Y/n was to be avoided at all costs.
She was the typical sinner. Never too bad of a person when alive, but never too good either. She wore her hedonism like a badge of honor, living her afterlife in much the same way Alastor assumed she had lived her living life: in a constant state of indulgence.
It wasn't the typical form of being that takes a person's mind when they think of the word. No, Y/n didn't indulge in a reckless, Dionysian way. Instead, she devoured everything. Books, good food, music, friends, you name it. Y/n had a million stories about each and a million examples of the best they all had to offer on hand. She relished in all that every word had to offer.
Alastor had overheard her talking to Charlie one night about that. He hadn't meant to, he had just been wandering the hotel, unable to sleep and in need of some air, when he'd heard a slight commotion in the lobby. Hidden by his shadows, he had entered the familiar space to find an exhausted Charlie standing tensely before a bulletin board.
"God is in the details." Y/n was saying as she adjusted the plans pinned on the structure so they were easier to read, more cohesive, "Anything can be a work of art, don't forget that. It's what makes everything so undeniably worth it."
She was so utterly out of his reach. Not that Alastor wanted Y/n in his reach, no. How ridiculous would that be: the Radio Demon, the most feared overlord in all of Hell, getting butterflies because he heard a girl tell someone else she loved them and imagined it was him. No, that would be utterly foolish which was why it wasn't the case, couldn't be the case. He must be getting sick, that was why his stomach had felt weird.
"What are you reading?" he heard Sir Pentious ask as the snake demon took a seat on the couch beside Y/n.
Alastor was at the bar, sharing a drink with Husk. His ear twitched in their direction.
"It's a book discussing the changes in interpretations of Sappho's poetry over time." Y/n replied, her tone soft and even.
It felt like a salve against Alastor's ears. Husk raised an eyebrow towards his master but made no remark.
"Really? I didn't know you were interested in that sort of thing."
"I was actually a professor in the human world... living world? Whatever. I didn't work on Sappho, I worked on ancient medicine, but I always found her intriguing and lovely. I mean, phainetai moi is creating a diagnosed love, using all the language of medicine. How could it not capture my attention?"
"You know, if you look at Homer, the same language Sappho uses is also used to describe love. She is actually working off a preexisting cannon of love as something painful and destroying."
"Really?"
"Yes, and curse tablets tend to draw off medical writings quite a bit as well, especially those involved in love magic."
"Huh, that’s a neat little intersection I have yet to explore: medicine, magic, and love. I never knew you knew so much about this. You died in the 1890s, right?"
"Sometime around then."
"I should have guessed then, my mistake. Tell me, what was it like growing up with all this wonder at your finger tips? It was hard for me to even find a university with a classics department, let alone a good one. You’re lucky to have had it all right there."
Now that was an interesting idea to Alastor. A diagnosable love, a painful and deadly thing. Love as a curse, love as being shot through by an enemy spear, love as a god. It made more sense to him than anything else about the matter had. Unavoidable, not something self imposed. A cursed love, a medical love, something that controlled a person rather than vice versa.
He lay awake at night, unable to speak, pale as grass, thinking unwillingly of the way her lips curved to form words, of the way one could see the gears of her mind turning behind her eyes. He lay awake, unable to do anything else. He stared at the ceiling.
"Ah! Angel! Thank you!" Y/n exclaimed as he handed her the sweater he'd spotted her eyeing a few days before when they'd been for a walk around town, "This was so kind of you!"
Alastor watched as Y/n pulled the lanky demon into a hug which he reluctantly returned, looking down at her with a platonic version of the sort of fondness that was so forbidden to him.
"Great work Angel!" Charlie clapped excitedly, "That's a step in the right direction."
No, it wasn't love. Alastor Hartifelt didn't love, he had lost that ability the day he had died and he'd barely had it before that. It didn't matter that his heart skipped a beat, there was no truth to his upset stomach when he had to speak to her except something bad he must have eaten. The sleeplessness wasn't new, sleep had never been his friend so to speak, the two had never really gotten along. The reason it got so stuck in his head, the way she threw her affection around, was the carelessness of it all, the foolishness. Only, what he had overheard her saying to Charlie that night, that anything can be a work of art, were the words of someone who acted purely on intention, who did nothing without considered thought.
Y/n couldn't be a wielder of love. Alastor never once saw her manipulate someone or even really ask anyone for anything at all. There was no way she was scared and the way she freely gave took her out of the other two categories as well. It didn't make sense. The intention, the earnestness, the true meaning behind her actions and words that always seemed to shine through no matter what she did, was what had him stuck. She barley even fit into her own category because of it. Most people that threw love around the way she did had the words and actions lose their meaning over time but, somehow, that seemed never to be the case for her.
He pictured a life on earth. He pictured walking with her beneath the stars, the way the light of the moon would play gently across her skin. He pictured her in the recording studio, the one he'd worked at while alive, waiting by the door for him to finish his work and taking him by the hand, dragging him off into the unknown. He pictured waking up beside her in the morning, all messy hair and smiles. He pictured, he dreamed, he dissolved. The doctors diagnosed him and he went to see other people because he didn't like the answer they gave him.
Y/n pulled Vaggie from her seat at the bar, spinning the demon into an ungraceful waltz to the music Alastor was playing on the piano for the group. He nearly fumbled, nearly missed a note. She missed so many steps and it didn't matter because she was laughing, and so was Vaggie. She didn't have to be perfect, but he did.
They each smiled ear to ear while Charlie clapped along to the beat. He imagined himself in Vaggie's place, he could practically feel his hands on the gentle curve of her hips. The world was half real.
It wasn't love because he didn't know her, he never spoke to her. It wasn't love because that was impossible, he couldn't love. It wasn't love because that was an ability he'd left in the world of the living. It wasn't love because she was too kind, too good, and he was nothing if not brutal and bloodstained to his core. It wasn't love because it couldn't be. It wasn't love because if it was...
It's not love. It's not love. It's not love.
He repeated the mantra to himself. Alone walking the halls, in meetings with the other overlords, making tea in the kitchen. He whispered the words to himself like a prayer.
It's not love. It's not love. It's not love.
Y/n was out of reach, untouchable, destined to join the ranks of Heaven while he remained rotting in Hell. It couldn't be anything else, no other future was possible which was why it wasn't love. She was made of all the things a human is and he was made of those a monster is. She was bright, she shined, and Alastor fed off the light of others, burning it out into darkness. He refused to do such a thing to her, he couldn't. Not when she was practically the sun. Not when he wasn't even a star but the black hole of the earth revolving around her.
He saw her holding Husk's hands over the bar top as he told her something, a look of deep concern etched into her features. He watched her pick Nifty up by the waist so the little demon could dust the tops of the bookshelves. He watched her, he waited, he would always be waiting because nothing could ever happen. Nothing would ever happen, he wouldn't allow it and goddamnit it wasn’t love.
It was also impossible, Alastor reminded himself. He had left that part of himself when he had died, it hadn't made the journey with him. The most favored fantasy of his own humanity, or what was left of it. The little spark of the person he had been that glowed softly from the center of his chest. Alastor had tried to douse it, tried to kill it, tried to rip it from himself but all he'd ever ended up with was bloody hands and torn flesh and the light pulsed on in its eternal hunger, its eternal hope, its eternal harm.
And then it was too late. Then, she really was gone, double dead or however anyone wanted to call it. Adam dropped her lifeless corpse to the ground and Alastor's world crashed in around him because no matter how many times he had said it wasn't, no matter how he had avoided her, no matter what he had done it had been love, or the beginnings of it at least. The closest thing to it he'd ever really felt. His hand tightened around the staff of his microphone. Alastor bared his teeth, he saw red.
"What have you done?"
Adam turned to him, grinning. Y/n deserved a viking funeral, to be surrounded by flowers and sent off in a burning boat. She deserved a Greek burial, reduced to ashes and buried with all the proper rites that made sure she would make it to the afterlife. She deserved, she was owed, he was angry.
"What." Adam laughed, "Was she your little bitch?"
Alastor didn't think he had any room left inside him for the fury, but found his rage redoubled at Adam's words.
"What did you just call her?"
"Your little bitch." Adam smirked, "She was a cute one, shame you all are gonna have to burn. Woulda kept her for myself."
Adam looked down, nudging Y/n's lifeless corpse with the toe of his shoe. Alastor attacked. There was no thought, no order, no grace, there was only the anger. Only now that it was too late, was he at last able to let loose, be less than perfect, exist in an unintentional manner. Or was it that this was the true meaning of intention -- reckless abandon? Y/n probably would have thought that. It didn't matter. It didn't matter what she would have thought, what any of them did think. It was too late. There was no more time and Alastor had come to terms with his own frailty a second past the buzzer. He would never forgive himself.
"You will pay for what you have done. You will die for what you have done."
Because it had been love, all along and Alastor, who had thought himself above it all, had been in that first group. He had been scared, not of what love could do but of what Y/n would, of what she had already done to him. Now it was too late and he would never get another chance.
"You will fucking die!"

the day/night we met ; henry cavill
Tumblr media
PAIRING — Henry Cavill x Reader (fem) SUMMARY — On your wedding day, your Maid of Honor prepares a special gift to which you and Henry have distinct responses. WORDS — 1,8k TW — nothing really just a lot of fluff, emotions (I cried a bit writing it), Henry in a suit 😈. A/N — Hi! I'm not dead, just quit the most toxic job ever so I'm getting back here lol Here's a short but very dear fic to me that I wrote last year but never posted. I'm so happy to finally post this! This story has been in my head for two years now and it came out better than I thought.
Song insp.: Eu Me Lembro by Clarice Falcão feat. Silva
— 𝕸𝖆𝖘𝖙𝖊𝖗𝖑𝖎𝖘𝖙
“ALRIGHT,” YOUR MAID OF HONOR smiles, carefully wiping her tears with a napkin. “After making you cry and potentially ruining some makeup,” The room laughs. “I’ve prepared something different to end this on a high note.”
This is one of the dearest moments of your life: your wedding. You’re marrying your soulmate. Your heart could burst with love and happiness whenever.
Everything’s perfect, from your dress to the lights of the venue. Henry – your newly proclaimed spouse – has an arm around you as you listen to your family and friends' speeches about you and your love.
You found it strange when your Maid of Honor wasn’t the first to speak, but it seems she has a reason for it. Immediately, you feel anxious, but in a good way.
“When these two told me they were getting married, I knew I wanted to do something special for them,” Your best friend starts. “I just didn’t know what, but I knew it had to be something remarkable, something for them to look back and have a good laugh,” She looks at the both of you with tears in her eyes, chuckling.
You also wipe tears off your eyes, smiling back at her, and Henry tightens his embrace around you.
“So I sat down with these two, separately, and started to ask a few questions,” She smiles and wiggles her eyebrows, which is an expression you know very well.
‘Oh my,’ You think. ‘What is she up to?’
“Things started to get really interesting from the start, and I decided to make a video out of it,” Your best friend winks at you. “Without further ado, enjoy it.”
With a pleasant smile, she sits down. The attention turns to the screens set around the venue.
You remember sitting with your Maid of Honor to chat about your relationship. You didn’t really understand why she wanted to do that. However, it always has been effortless talking about Henry, and you brushed it off as having something to do with the wedding.
You recall having a great time answering her questions – drinks might have been involved beforehand, but the whole process was surprisingly professional.
Your friend’s face pops up on the screen as she introduces herself. “In this little video, I wanted to talk about our lovely couple’s amazing and fun story, especially the day they met,” She explains. “Newlyweds, I love you very much, and I hope you like this little something I put together for you.”
She blows a kiss and waves. Then in fancy lettering, “A love story” is scribbled on the top-left corner of the screen, and “A story of love” on the bottom right corner. You wonder why both phrases – which convey the same thing – are on the video, but the thought quickly slips your mind when your smiling face appears on the screen.
“State your name and occupation, please,” Your friend prompts on the video, but she’s out of the shot.
You roll your eyes amusedly. “What’s this, a trial? I’m innocent, your honor!” You giggle, making everybody at the venue laugh.
You answer the question anyway, and your name also appears written on the video.
“For the purpose of… this, I’m the bride?” It sounds like a question, and you make a face, unsure of yourself.
She never explained what the video was for, in your defense.
Right after you, Henry appears. “I’m Henry, and I am the lucky groom,” He smiles brightly, looking as handsome as always.
“So, tell me, how did you meet Henry?” Your friend asks, and your smile is instant as you remember that exact day as if it was yesterday. “How did you meet Y/N?” She asks him in the next scene, and his reaction is the same.
“I was hosting a brunch,” You start, your eyes unfocused as the vivid memory plays in your mind. “And it was morning when Henry arrived.”
When he reapers, you can tell it’ll cut back and forth between you. “I was throwing a party, and she was the one that came around. I think it was three in the afternoon,” Henry replies, quite differently from you.
You scoff mockingly, looking at him by your side. He chuckles, brushing it off with a shoulder tic before you turn back to the screen.
“And I said: ‘Hi, come on in, make yourself at home,’ You know, something of the sorts,” You shrug off.
Your betrothed chuckles in the video, scratching his chin in thought. “I was the one that said hello, but she didn’t hear.”
His comment makes the venue erupt in laughter. You meet Henry’s loving gaze again and squeeze his hand, making him bring yours up to press a kiss on your knuckles.
If your shared story had different and entertaining versions until now, it’d just get better!
After being asked about first impressions of one another, he replies: “She thought I was hilarious,” He says with such confidence that is endearing.
In your turn, you laugh and cover your mouth as if what you are about to say it’s an embarrassing secret.
“Oh my god, he wouldn’t stop talking! Like a lot!” You emphasize. “And I pretended to laugh the entire time,” You say very sheepishly before throwing your head back in laughter again. “That’s terrible. I feel like I need to apologize,” You add after your fit.
“Oh, I just remembered something,” He suddenly announces, and his smile is wide as the memory toy around in his head. “Her blouse was inside out,” He chuckles, eyes focused on a spot. “She’s so adorable and such a goof, isn’t she?” He looks back at the camera.
“He loved the way I was dressed,” You giggle, visibly shivering as you physically remember the feeling of him truly looking at you for the first time.
Your friend asks another question, changing the subject slightly, but Henry shakes his head.
“Yeah, the party was great! Everybody was having a good time, but I only remember searching for her when she wasn’t near me. Trying to get another look, you know?” He says.
In turn, you scoff. “No one was dancing! I don’t remember who was taking care of the music, but it was terrible!” Your genuine response makes the room fills with laughter another time. “At least everyone had a drink in hand and ate something.”
“Oh, yes. The food was wonderful. Everything homemade,” Your partner assures with a proud nod naively.
“I bought everything off Tesco,” You rushedly confess, throwing your head back in laughter again.
Back to the present moment, you’re wiping the new tears from the corners of your eyes due to laughter. You love the good energy around the room as your guests and yourself enjoy the video your Maid of Honor made.
Now you understand both phases in the beginning, and although you and Henry have very distinct versions of the day you met, you love both of them and the feelings they bring you.
However, something changes in the next second of the video. For the first time, on a split-screen, you two appear together.
“When I saw him, I knew it (When I saw her, I knew it),” You both say simultaneously. “She (He) was the person I’d spend the rest of my life with,” You continue.
Glancing at him, you’re surprised to see he’s already looking at you. Then you exchange a knowing look. It seems like you got on the same page in this part of the video.
“And that’s how I realized that life put him (her) in my life,” You say in unison. “On that Tuesday (Thursday) of September (December),” Your responses overlap with each other, drawing amused reactions from people.
“That’s why I remember everything, of every second,” Both of you state, which is downright ironic at this point. “Ask me anything that I remember.”
“I remember,” You proudly declare with a grin but, this time, by yourself.
And so does Henry. “I remember,” He nods with a beam.
The video ends there, and the room erupts in applause, whistles, and hollered praises.
Words couldn’t describe the dazzling feelings you’re experiencing if you wanted to. You can’t be more grateful to your friend for this treat either. And, of course, the man you now get to call your husband.
The spotlight of attention returns to you as you’re exchanging the most enamored gaze ever. Henry leans in and presses his lips to your forehead, making you close your eyes. Slowly, you allow all those remarkable sensations to wash over you.
When you reopen your eyes, you smile at him before looking at your Maid of Honor. “Thank you so much for this extremely thoughtful gift. We both loved it a lot.”
Henry confirms with a head gesture.
“Words won’t do justice to how much you’re special to me. I’m just so grateful I get to share such a special and meaningful moment of my life, like this one, with you,” Your voice cracks at the end, and you smile, trying to hold your tears at bay as you can see she’s doing the same. “So I can’t thank you enough.”
As the room gets loud with another round of applause and cheers, she smiles, mouthing an “I love you too” to you. Wiping your tears carefully one more time, you chuckle.
“Although, I only have one question,” You announce, making the room pipe down. “Was my blouse really inside out?” You giggle as you look back at Henry.
Your husband starts to laugh. “Yeah,” He confirms bashfully. “Yeah, it was,” He nods as your guests join you in laughter.
“Oh, God. I can’t believe it,” You shake your head in embarrassment. “I also would like to point out that my husband clearly has a lot of experience with interviews,” You remark, addressing the room. “I feel kinda bad after saying I was pretending to laugh at his jokes when he’s all loving and caring,” You rejoin your friends and family in fun.
“I do tell bad jokes,” Henry concedes in your defense. “I love how genuine you are, and you’re loving and caring to me, too,” You nearly melt at his famous Hollywood-star smile.
The sound of ‘aww’s’ fills the room. “You see what I’m dealing with?” You joke, making everybody chuckle.
You give him a chaste but affectionate peck on the lips. Your wedding coordinator decides it’s time for the first dance to open the floor to make your guests burn some energy after the buffet.
And so, feeling the most secure and happy while pressed against your husband’s chest with his arms around you, you swing slowly. By sharing the same air, the same space, and the same feelings, you can’t think of anything better.
It all started on a Tuesday morning in September for you. But for him, it was a Thursday afternoon in December. Now, it is a Saturday evening in November that you’ll never forget.
You will remember. Everything. Of every second.

Like many fans I've always had issues with Holmes' retirement in canon... not just the separation from Watson but the fact that he always loved detective work so much and it's just hard for me to think of a non-depressing reason why he decided to retire so early in life, move away from everything he loves and focus all his time on some random new hobby that we've never heard about before. I mean even though he's a solitary guy I just have a hard time believing Holmes would actually want to move out to the middle of nowhere where he can't easily go and see concerts whenever he wants.
I know some fic writers try to make sense of it by positing that he had a transformative experience during the Hiatus where he learned how to relax and find true happiness and emotional fulfillment by living a peaceful life appreciating nature instead of doing morbid stuff like obsessing over murders and risking his life all the time, but I dunno... it's not exactly that I find this unbelievable and more that the idea of Sherlock Holmes as a zen nature lover who couldn't be truly happy until he quit being a detective just doesn't appeal to me very much lol.
So how about this alternative theory:
Holmes is sick of being famous and having people hassle him all the time for interviews/autographs/etc (THAT part I can definitely believe). Around 1903 he gets fed up and decides to leave Baker St and secretly move to another location in London, possibly even under the thin façade of an assumed name to keep the neighbors from asking too many questions. (Maybe Mrs. Hudson also retired from landladying around this time and that was part of the impetus for him to leave.) For a while he'll go back to being primarily a "consulting" detective, taking cases from a few Scotland Yard inspectors or government officials who can be trusted with his new address. He had previously banned Watson from publishing any more stories about him, precisely to avoid growing his fame even further; but now he says, "You can publish more stories, but only on the condition that you tell them I'm retired and not living in London anymore." Then Watson is like "How should I say you're spending your retirement?" and Holmes is like "IDK, keeping bees?" as like a random joke. Either that or Watson made up all the "peaceful life of a country beekeeper" stuff to twit Holmes because it's the complete opposite of what he actually enjoys.
Of course eventually people will start piecing together the truth, so Watson writes "The Lion's Mane" to further push the story (and/or as another joke, making it deliberately ridiculous to see if people will still buy it).
Eventually, sometime after the war, Holmes does retire for real; but he stays in London (maybe at still a third address, to shake off the people who managed to track him down last time). He spends his days doing chemical work and writing his book on detection and going out to concerts every night. Watson may or may not live with him, but in any case he's also still in London and they see each other all the time. The end.

pairing: brother's best friend! Jeon Wonwoo x fem! reader
warnings: 18+ content, swearing
genre: fluff, some angst, crack, smut; fingering, protected sex, dirty talk + praising
wc: 9,907
For years, you've had a crush on your brother's best friend; Jeon Wonwoo. Though, with him being so close to your brother, you couldn't do anything about those feelings, so you tuck them away and get over him. After not seeing him for years, you thought you were safe, free from a world of loving him. But, all of that changes when you meet him again... as your roommate!
a/n: hi! I'm back with my first fic for seventeen! I'm going through major wonwoo brainrot rn. this is also my first time writing for the smut genre so I hope you enjoy!
...
Currently, you stood before the one man you wanted nothing more than to avoid.
The best friend of your obnoxious brother, Jeon Wonwoo.
You felt Mingyu’s shoulder roughly brush past yours, dropping off the last of the boxes. You, however, couldn’t find yourself to put down the box nesting in your arms. You were too trapped in a world of shock to do so. Wonwoo pushed a few of his boxes off to the side as you watched Mingyu shuffle closer to his best friend—his best friend who had just moved away to an entirely new city for university, and who just so happened to be your new roommate.
6 feet under the ground has never looked more comfortable.
It wasn’t that you hated him or anything. As of right now, the two of you were—in a formal sense—acquaintances. However, a few years ago that would have been a different story. Sure, you may have never uttered more than a sentence to the quiet best friend of Kim Mingyu, but that didn’t stop you from growing absolutely infatuated with him. Thinking about him at every chance you got, daydreaming about him amidst the boring lectures of your high school social class.
His distance didn’t stop your heart from its emotional chase, but his proximity to your brother did. Every weekend Wonwoo would visit, every night he would stay late for dinner—it all reminded you of the roadblock that was your brother. So, after months of pining, with all the effort in your being, you finally decided to drop Jeon Wonwoo from your heart. What remained was the mundane label of acquaintances.
And now, roommates, apparently.
“I think that’s the last of it,” Mingyu said with a proud huff. Gathering his belongings, Mingyu strutted his way to the front door of your new home. The new home that, for some reason, you couldn’t forget was Wonwoo’s, too. Mingyu shot a pointer finger at your chest. “Call mom and dad when you get settled, okay? I gotta go. See ya y/n, you too Wonwoo!”
After bumping fists with Wonwoo for one last time, Mingyu headed out the door. The door slammed shut, and the two of you stood in silence, both of your eyes glued to the tops of your shoes. Not once in your life did you think you would ever say this, but maybe you missed your boisterous brother. Without his overbearing, annoying presence, the air between Wonwoo and you wouldn’t have been so thick, so tense.
To say this was a new situation to be in would be a deep understatement. Despite knowing him for years, you could never remember a time where you were alone with Wonwoo. Without distractions, or the overbearing presence of your brother. Just the two of you. Alone.
And now, you would spend the next few months just like that. Alone.
Without thinking, you break off the silence. Cringey– smack your head against the wall and curl up into a ball– kind of cringey small talk spills from your mouth. All the while your brain screams at you to shut up. Luckily, Wonwoo was kind enough to answer your embarrassingly useless questions about his life.
“You know, I’m surprised you even remember me” You suddenly spill out. Your eyes widen. What was wrong with you?
Wonwoo's head dipped down, his eyes catching a glimpse of you before falling back down to his slippers.
“Don’t worry, I don’t think I could ever forget about you.”
Woah. Okay. That was weird. You could feel your cheeks flare up.
Wonwoo and you each steal a glance from each other's eyes, like nervous middle schoolers at a school dance. You wanted to rip your eyes away from him and his… changed physique, but you once again caught yourself staring the moment he shined an innocent smile.
God, okay.
"Er, why don't we start unpacking?" you chirped hastily, wanting nothing more than to escape the suffocating air of awkwardness.
With a ceramic bowl in your hands, you stood still. Gawking at the towering shelf before you. It couldn't be helped, you didn't know what to do when the only vacant space for said bowl was at the very top of said shelf. You try a variety of preliminary solutions first; reaching with all your might, balancing on your tippy toes to close the gap. It didn’t work. An exhausted sigh pushed through your lips, that same sigh switching to a low toned groan by the end of it. The way you were going to reach it? Only God knew.
Safe to say, you were not expecting this specific solution.
You felt a sudden warmth ghosting behind you. Closely behind. Maybe a few centimeters. You inhale sharply, the shock stunning you. Your eyes graze over a particularly toned arm reaching beside, then past yours. It’s fingers snatching the bowl away from your pitiful ones. Your ears perk up to the sound of shifting, and another hand snakes around your side, fully entraping your figure against the counter. You prayed the heat of your skin came from the poorly conditioned apartment.
“Here, let me help you,” Wonwoo said nonchalantly, through a grin. So aloof, so opposite to how flustered you felt. His towering arm placed the bowl on the shelf. He stood in that position—trapping you against the counter—for a few more seconds (but what felt like an eternity) before returning to his own things to unpack. You barely stuttered a response, wanting nothing more than to suffocate in the bubble wrap from the boxes.
There was a specific horror when it came to sharing everything with Boo Seungkwan. You see, he had a slight tendency to make sure you never forget.
That man in question, along with you and your other best friend, Vernon, sat on Vernon’s couch. The original plan was to enjoy the weekend in each other’s company while watching a movie everyone could enjoy. Instead, you sat silently in the middle, munching your way through the chip as your two friends argued over the remote.
“No, I’m choosing. We are not gonna sit through another one of your stupid artsy films!”
“They’re not stupid, you’re just too stupid to understand whats going on!”
“Last time we watched a movie you chose, I had to sit through 10 minutes of two people having sex with a crowd of people moaning along. Never. Again.”
You wince at the memory of the movie that made a new definition of horror in your books. Vernon snatched the remote again. “My house, my movie.”
Seungkwan scowled. “Then we’re never watching a movie under your roof again. Next time we’re at my place.”
Vernon barked back. “With a couch we can barely fit on? Nice try!”
“At least we’ll be cozy and not traumatized!”
Vernon sighed, suddenly handing the remote to you. “Okay fine, why don’t we go to Y/n’s house next time, and she can pick the movie.”
You jolt at the sudden mention of your name.
Your eyes scan Seungkwan’s expression, an expression which switches immediately into one of mischief. An evil grin shines on his face as he sends a nudging elbow to your side. His eyebrows wiggle, and you roll your eyes, knowing exactly what was bound to come next. “Yeah! And we can finally meet Mr. Roomie/Mingyu’s best friend that Y/n’s got the hots for!!”
Heat running to your cheeks, you shove Seungkwan’s shoulder. Hard. “I don’t have the ‘hots’ for him, dumbass. I just had a… small crush on him when we were kids, that’s all.”
“Uh huh, okay.” His tone bled unimpressed. “That’s not what it sounded like when you called me last week.” Now Vernon was interested, cocking an eyebrow at your direction.
You nipped at your lips. Shit. He was right. When you called him—on the day you moved in—you sounded a little too freaked out to be completely indifferent about your new roommate.
It was unclear how you truly felt about Jeon Wonwoo. But one thing's for sure, it wasn’t normal.
“Oh, Y/n” Seungkwan sighed dramatically, throwing an arm around your shoulders for an embrace. “I dunno about you, but I wouldn’t ignore someone like him! I think there's definitely something there, girl.”
You never thought you’d say this, but you missed 5 minutes ago, when the topic of conversation was the unique movie tastes of your friends, and the chosen mode of communication was yelling, despite them literally being one person— you— apart. At least then, you weren’t stuck thinking about your berserk living situation.
There’s definitely something there.
Seungkwan’s words played over and over again in your head. On the bus ride home, as you got ready for bed, and as you tucked yourself in your cozy covers, those 4 words replayed.
As smart as Boo Seungkwan claimed to be, he was wrong on this one. You didn’t have feelings for your roommate. The night you moved in— the ceramic bowl incident, as Vernon liked to call it— was just a slip up. One mistake in a sea of second chances. You were fine. After all, a week has passed since you moved in, and to your surprise, the two of you were actually settling in quite nicely. Quick exchanges of small talk filled the shared air, replacing the tense silence your week began with. Slowly the two of you began to open up, chatting about your day during your shared meals. Wonwoo even proposed the brilliant idea of having a dishwashing schedule. You could still remember how proud he was when he thought of the idea.
It was almost… cute.
You caught yourself, fingers pulling down your cheeks as you try to hide the smile that came so automatically at the thought of that damn dishwashing schedule. The heat that rose to your cheeks when you think of how easy it was to talk to him nowadays. No. You were not going to fold now.
With a final huff jumping from your chest, you hop out of your bed, ready to start your day. Your day, that, with enough determination, would be free of weird thoughts regarding your roommate. You hovel to the apartment living room, your tired eyes immediately making contact with a certain bowl shaped head. Complete in his loose fitted white t-shirt, black joggers, and thin rimmed glasses. His fingers clutched onto a gaming controller, his fingers moving the controls that gave life to his first person shooter. As if your gaze summoned him, Wonwoo turned around, a smile beaming from his lips.
“Good morning!”
You watched him grin at you with his lightly tousled bed hair. You instinctively wrap an arm around your stomach, to hide the somersaults it was currently performing under your shirt. Convincing yourself that it was the morning hunger, you shine a bogus smile. “Morning!”
To say that he’s changed within the years you methodically avoided him would be a deep understatement. Though he was presently sitting down, past encounters with him proved that he towered over you. He’d always been taller than you, but now the difference was much more dramatic. And while he stood massively before you, at least back then he was lanky, built with little to no muscle. Now? God generously replaced that lanky frame with a physique gifted from, well, the gods. Sure, his shirt was loose, but his arm and chest muscles still managed to peek through the fabric. You catch your stubborn eyes staring at his broad shoulders a little longer than you expected.
His face managed to change, too. It grew more sculpted, his cheeks chiseled and jawline so sharp it could cut you. Though the idea of touching his jaw didn’t scare you off, only intriguing you. You shook your head aggressively, shaking away those horrid thoughts.
You pivot on your heel, beginning to make your way to the kitchen. You weren’t strong enough to handle whatever your heart was going through, so you opted for a light breakfast instead.
However, you can never have it your way, now can you?
The clicks of the controller stopped for a second, and Wonwoo’s voice peaks in your ears.
“Wanna play with me?”
“Uh, Wonwoo” You slowly inched away from the screen. After dropping into the game’s world, it had finally hit you that you had no idea how to even play. His gaze which burned your back, however. It distracted you from the game entirely. You clear your throat.
“How do you play?”
“Bruh” Wonwoo muttered, and you gave an apologetic laugh. Maybe you did deserve the lecture about not skipping the very simple tutorial that only played once so you wouldn’t die within two minutes of the game. You moved the controls randomly, dropping items and taking damage like it was no tomorrow, all against Wonwoo’s best interest. You almost wanted to do it out of spite, just to mess with him a little.
Guess Wonwoo had a little trick up his sleeve as well.
“Oh my god, okay, here.”
Without warning, you felt two muscular arms slither around your waist, connecting at the controller you also held snug against your chest. Sparks pop against your skin, and you shiver in surprise. You honestly couldn’t tell if your jaw was touching the carpet floor or not, or if you had the chance to blink. You couldn't make sense of anything. Nothing made any goddamn sense. The pads of his thumbs trace your fingers, your peripheral vision showing truly how small your hands were compared to his.
“This button is used to shoot, okay?” his voice rumbled deep—was his voice always this deep?— as he practically whispered flush against your ear. You couldn’t help but shiver at the contact. You inhale deeply, compensating from your current lack of air. The way each syllable tingled against your skin. You were never going to survive real life, never mind this stupid video game. “Here, you can check your inventory, and here, you can change your weapon.”
It was as if time had stopped. Your mind was going crazy. The delicate touch of his fingers, the tingles of his voice on your skin, his frame encasing yours in his arms—all of it. You couldn’t handle one single bit of it. You couldn’t give two flying fucks about the game at this point. A part of you wanted to stay, just like this.
Abruptly, however, the ding of the doorbell sounds throughout the apartment. The two of you jolt awake, and you jump away from each other. Wonwoo glances away immediately. Almost as if he was flustered. After composing yourself, you trot to the door, and peek through the apartment camera.
It was your brother. Kim fucking Mingyu.
“Basketball game?” You and Wonwoo chirped in unison.
“Yeah!” Mingyu grinned from across the kitchen table. He cradled the glass containers full of homemade food, a gift to you— courtesy of your thoughtful mother. He tilted his head to you. “I thought I texted you about it?”
You froze. “Oh.” Okay, it wasn’t your fault your brain had been quite preoccupied as of recently. “I didn’t see it.”
“It doesn’t matter,” Mingyu swayed his hand. “I want you guys to come watch!”
Wonwoo and you glance at one another, your movements falling in unison as you discuss the possibility of attending. A discussion that needed minimal words, as if you could already read each other’s mind. It piqued your brother’s interest, cocking an eyebrow at you. “Since when did you two get so close?”
You froze, fingers nervously dancing on your tabletop. A wave of fear shot down your spine as your eyes refused to look at Wonwoo; your brother’s best friend. You would very much rather die a slow, painful death, than to have your brother realize his best friend and his little sister were getting too close for comfort.
Of course, your cheeks heat up at the thought of getting closer with Wonwoo. You shake your head, squinting. Stop it. Now’s definitely not the time.
The low ahem grumbled from your side, and Wonwoo shifted forward. His tone sounded swift, almost panicked. Like he was trying to hide something. “We’re roommates, of course we’re close.”
Wonwoo looked at you once more, shining a smile. You turn to your brother, your smile being fully false. “Uh, yeah!”
You watched as Mingyu’s eyes darted between your figures, narrowing in suspicion before widening back up. You heave a sigh of relief. For once, you were grateful for your brother’s slowness. “Oh right, why didn’t I realize?” His laugh filled the kitchen air, and the two of you laughed along.
Right. You huffed. You and Wonwoo were nothing but roommates to each other. Anything more could lead to a confusing, and unfavorable event.
You watched as Wonwoo locked your apartment door, the evening lights peeking through the window serving as your first indication that it was time for dinner together. Dinner together. You couldn’t help but feel just the slightest bit fuzzy as you placed down two of each utensil on your shared table.
You slap yourself. Snap out of it!
“Mingyu’s kinda slow, isn’t he?” Wonwoo’s voice perked through your ears. “He really forgot that we were roommates.”
Your chest releases a half-hearted chuckle. “Yeah”
Roommates. That's what you two were. Though, you weren’t quite sure who that reminder was really for. You wanted it to be for him, but the sinking feeling in your chest could suggest who it was really meant for.
There were two sounds that took over the apartment air that Saturday evening. The faint audio of a romantic comedy, and the much more prominent sounds of you and Wonwoo, arguing about said romantic comedy.
“This is ridiculous,” Wonwoo gestured a very judgmental hand towards the screen, where the male lead just so happened to bump into his female love interest in a completely different country. “There’s no way he’d meet her across the country by accident, that’s not realistic at all.”
You waved your hands, frustrated at the sheer man energy Wonwoo was exhibiting, trying to explain everything with dumb realism. “Are you dumb? This is a drama, it’s not supposed to be realistic!”
Wonwoo only grimaced before quieting down, sinking into the couch before continuing the film. You knew he always had a bone to pick with anything that didn’t fit nicely into the realms of realism,—rich coming from a literal gamer, but okay— so it was a surprise when your brother’s best friend asked to join you during your weekly rom-com binge. Though now you were close to taking back your words, seeing as his only motivation was to give you a goddamn headache.
As the two of you grow immersed in the screen, with sprinkles of bickering here and there, an hour and a half passes on the clock, and the two of you finally reach the finale. The two main leads find each other at opposite ends at a crosswalk. The music queues and sudden rain pours in. As the walking lights turn green, the two characters meet at the center of the road, a passionate kiss locking between their lips. And with that, the credits roll. It was as unrealistic as you can get. A pure product of fiction. You were expecting Wonwoo to explode with confusion. This ending infuriating his realism fueled brain. However, he seemed to be focused on something else entirely.
“That was a bad kiss scene.” Your brother’s best friend blurted out. It took you aback, your eyes bouncing between him and the screen. “Huh?”
“There was no build up, the guy sorta just rushed in. If the audience didn’t know anymore, they would’ve thought that he just smacked her head or something.”
You looked back at the screen, thinking back to the kiss. He did have a point, the main male lead did seem a little rushed. You wonder if the kiss scene was actually as good as you initially thought, or if its quality was just masked by the cool lighting and special effects.
Wait. Your brows furrow. What did he even know?
Was Jeon Wonwoo a good kisser?
Almost immediately, certain thoughts take over your brain. Your heart was beating faster and faster with each tick of the clock above you. You nip at your lips. No, no, no. You couldn’t have those thoughts in your head. The last thing you wanted was to develop anything for your brother’s best friend. The consequences of doing such were too much for your tiny brain to comprehend.
Yet, why couldn’t you stop thinking about it?
“What do you know about kissing, anyways?” You probe defensively, though you weren’t sure what the defense was for. “You think you could do better or something?”
“Oh, way better.” Wonwoo said with a puffed chest and a familiar heat began to creep on your cheeks. “Unlike him, I wouldn’t rush it. I’d take my time with her…”
Wonwoo’s eyes met yours. “...Savor her.”
You felt queasy to your stomach. Only now, at this very moment, did you become very aware of how intimate you two currently were. Shoulder to shoulder on your living room couch, dim lights cascading off your figures as the evening light grew dark. Wonwoo’s chest was just centimeters away from yours, which was heaving in and out at this point.
“I wouldn’t be rough with her. If I'm kissing her, I need to cherish her. I never waste my kisses.”
Were you dreaming? So far, none of this movie night seemed to be real, except for maybe the very fictional film you watched. Everything else felt just like a dream
But for some reason, you didn’t want to wake up.
With one last ghost of his fingertips, Wonwoo pinches your cheek. You wake up to an innocent seeming grin before watching him shoot up from the couch. You didn’t go after him though, you were still too stunned, too frozen to move.
Why was Jeon Wonwoo shaking you up so much?
Panic quickly overtook you.
With the amount of steps you took while pacing around the living room floor, you were convinced you had just walked a marathon. Your teeth pick at the skin of your lips, your fingers—lined with anxiety—fiddling with each other. Your eyes dart back to the clock. 7:49.
In about 5 minutes, Wonwoo would come home.
To say that lately, you’ve been on edge when it comes to your brother’s best friend, would be a grave understatement. One moment, he’s snug against your frame while playing video games, or telling you how good of a kisser he was while watching a tv drama. The next? He's busy convincing his best friend that nothing stood between you aside from the mere label of roommates. Wonwoo was making you go crazy. And so, you found yourself building a wall between the two of you, one brick at a time.
At first, you deemed the plan too harsh. But one thing was for certain.
You couldn’t let yourself fall in love with Jeon Wonwoo. Your brother’s best friend.
During the past weeks, you ate together less, hiding behind the lousy excuse of school assignments. You avoided his eyes every time you grazed his figure at the hall. You don’t know how you did it, but you managed to avoid contact with your roommate. After all, you needed to do all you could to get rid of these estranged feelings.
Your original plan today was to avoid your brother’s roommate, just as usual, but your escape route for the day had miraculously blown up in your face, with both Seungkwan and Vernon both canceling on you mere hours before you were about to head out the door. And with no back up plan at your side, you had nothing else to fall back to once Jeon Wonwoo came back home.
A click sounds from the front door, and you jolt back to reality. Shit.
The door slowly swings open, and a figure emerges. He brushes his hair—soaked from the crashing rain outside—away from his face. Your stubborn eyes couldn’t help but travel down, briefly locking with the translucency of his white shirt, which the rain water made sure not to miss. His eyes meet yours, and for some reason, you couldn’t seem to rip yours away from his grasp.
“Hey y/n!” He chirped with a smile, his deep voice rumbling in your ears. You hum a simple response, eyes mapping out your escape route to the stairs— which wasn’t at all in your favor. Your only path to freedom was the hallway before you, the hallway that Wonwoo also stood in front of. With his eyes still burning through your figure, a question jumps from his lips. “Have you eaten?”
His words led to realize that you had, in fact, not eaten dinner. You couldn’t reveal that, though.
“I’m not that hungry,” A bogus smile lifts your cheeks. You thought that that was enough, that your words were plenty for him to accept your rejection. But, of course, a loud, low grumble echos from your stomach, causing the both of you to glance down. Wonwoo glances back up at you, cocking an eyebrow. “You sure?”
“Positive! Now, if you’ll excuse me- ” You chirp, two words occupying your brainspace. Run. NOW.
You dash to the end of the hallway, eyes glued to the tiled floor. Maybe, just maybe, if you looked away, Wonwoo would forget that you were there.
Clearly, though, he didn’t.
Just as your shoulder brushed past his, you felt a harsh tugging sensation at your wrist. You spring back, your gaze meeting a particularly soaked chest. After stalling your hardest for about 5 seconds, you finally glance up. Wonwoo’s eyes, however, had already been on you. Hell, you were convinced they never left your figure since he got home.
“Is something wrong?” Wonwoo grilled, eyes taking the time to map your figure. You swat your hand, resisting the temptation to stay right where you were. Right in front of him. “Just not feeling it, that’s all,”
“I’m not just talking about tonight,” The end of his sentence grew rough and gritted. His grasp on your wrist grew tighter as he pulled you closer to him. “You’ve been acting weird for a while now, you don’t think I haven’t noticed?”
Isn’t it obvious? You thought. I need to get away from you. Otherwise, I’ll fall in love with you even more.
“You’ve haven’t said a word to me in weeks and you’re always stuck up in your room. At first, I was fine with giving you space but now, it’s like you're avoiding me.”
You pick at your lips, averting his gaze.
“I just wanna know what’s going on, y/n.” His voice sounded weak, almost desperate. Your heart chipped, your stomach churning in guilt. You stayed silent, your arm growing heavy in his grasp. Wonwoo finally sighed, shoulder slumping forward as he let your wrist go, defeat ghosting over his back. “Okay then.”
It was as if a bullet shot through your chest, your heart crumbling into grains of sand. Your heart swelled up, overflowing with emotions you couldn’t even fathom or explain. Your head was spinning on the spot. A part of you wanted nothing more than to give in, to forget it all and throw yourself into his arms. A flood of images rushed to your mind; Mingyu, Mingyu with Wonwoo, and lastly, Wonwoo with you. The image of his smile staining your mind a little longer.
You couldn’t be with him. It could ruin everything.
Pivoting your feet, you take one glance at Wonwoo. His gaze finally began to drop from your figure. You gulp, a cog in your brain suddenly shifting.
Fuck it, None of that mattered anymore.
It was all a rush. Without your brain properly functioning, you pivot again. Your chin aligned with his chest and your eyes finally met his. Confidently. As you threw every conscious and careful thought away from you, you took a step forward. And another. Until the gap between your figures closed shut. He stares back blankly, his eyes glinting with a sense of the same need your body flared up with, the need that you denied yourself so many times. All because of whatever labels you two gave yourselves. With your stomach flipping in on itself, you close your eyes.
And kiss him.
You were off limits. Jeon Wonwoo knew that much.
Wonwoo never knew why you stood out so much every time he’d stay over at Mingyu’s house. At first, he concluded that it was because you were an innocent girl hanging out in a sea of rowdy teenage boys. With his calm demeanor, you seemed like a dream to hang out with, compared to the others. Next, he concluded that it was just a coincidence, and that he wasn’t actually seeing you constantly. While that was partly true; the fact that you weren’t actually in his sight constantly, in truth, you plagued his mind like a disease. The symptoms? Lovesickness and a mild headache.
His love sickness came into play every chance it got. Every time you’d show up during one of Mingyu’s get togethers, every time you would spare him a wave before he left to go back home. Each and every time you entered his life, he melted into a puddle.
However, no matter how smitten he was with you, there was a constant reminder of the one person standing in his way. His best friend, Kim Mingyu. It was beyond wrong to go for the little sister of his closest friend, that was almost a given. And with that, Wonwoo let both you, and the idea of being anything more than friends, go. Though thinking back, Wonwoo could never tell if his feelings truly left.
Nevertheless, all of that would be forgotten at his second year in University. With his first roommate bailing on him at the last minute, Wonwoo needed a new roommate, and fast. Luckily, you were just starting at the same university, and needed a roommate yourself. So, without missing a beat, Wonwoo called up Mingyu and packed his things.
It didn’t take long for his heart to settle back into his old feelings the moment you two moved in together. It was as instant as fireworks popping in the sky. As soon as he saw your cheeky, gummy smile, Wonwoo could tell he folded. He was falling for you all over again. And when you began to open up to his conversations and accept his greetings, Wonwoo couldn’t help but feel bright inside.
There were moments where he couldn’t control himself, he was the first to admit. Moments he may have taken his secret feelings out of hiding for a little longer than expected. Safe to say, anyone could tell that Wonwoo was in love with you.
Well, except for you.
At least that was what Wonwoo thought the moment you began to ignore him. Began to build a wall of anonymity between you. Wonwoo was left at a loss. He didn’t want to lose you again. And that was why, when you finally kissed him, and a flood of emotions rushed in, Wonwoo had no other choice but to kiss you back with all the might in his being. He finally understood those rough kiss scenes in those dramas you loved so much.
An arm snakes around your waist as Wonwoo clings onto your frame, pressing it snug against his own. He felt bad for the once dry fabric of your bedtime clothes, rubbing against his— which had been soaked from the rain outside— probably wasn’t a good idea. But ultimately, it didn’t matter. A free hand cups your jaw, Wonwoo’s knuckles running white from excitement, thrill. It didn’t matter where, Wonwoo just needed to hold you. Keep you in his touch so you wouldn’t run away again. Wonwoo felt a set of fingers cling onto the buttons of his dress shirt, butterflies setting off in his stomach at the realization that they were yours. You felt the same way, you never wanted to let go.
Your lips pluck apart as the two of you take deep breaths, chests heaving. Your eyes hold onto each other as if they were each other’s source of life. Right now, it seemed like that was very much the case. After collecting yourself, your eyes dip down to your feet—the embarrassment finally settling in. Your head was spinning. Was any of this real? Had you just locked lips with the man you’ve had feelings for, for your entire life? Your chest heaved, heart beating rapidly in Wonwoo’s presence. In Wonwoo’s trance.
“I-I,” You stutter out, still breathless from the kiss. “I can explain!”
Wonwoo only chuckled, the deep timber of his voice rumbling in his chest. “What’s with the switch up? I thought you hated me.”
Shocked, you look up. “What? No! I could never hate you!” Your fingers leave his side, meeting in front of you, fiddling with each other. “I just… didn’t know what to do. I was conflicted. I’ve liked you since we were kids, but I couldn’t do anything about it because-”
“-of Mingyu, right?” Wonwoo finished your sentence. Your eyes widen. “Yeah, that’s exactly it. How’d you know?”
Wonwoo booped your nose with his pointer. “I felt the same way about you, dummy. Could you really not tell?”
Instinctively, you jab at his chest, taking note of how firm it felt under your fist. Jesus, could he be anymore perfect? You turn your head, averting his beautiful gaze. “You didn’t even tell me!”
“Should I have made it more clear? I was being quite obvious.”
Your mind wanders back to the past week, where various moments managed to send your mind spinning. They were all planned. Wonwoo wasn’t playing with you, he was simply showing you, demonstrating to you how he felt. And your foolish mind decided to run away. You were glad you couldn’t run far; running from him would’ve been a mistake you would never recover from.
You blush, though you couldn’t tell if it was from embarrassment, his flustering existence, or all of the above. You clear your throat, eyes wandering aimlessly. “So… what do we do now?”
“Well, if you're comfortable with it…” Wonwoo pulled you against his chest, both arms snaking around your hips. “I think we can forget about your brother for a while.”
You pick at your lips.
Wonwoo’s palm hugs your cheek. “Can I be your boyfriend, y/n?”
You smile, leaning into the warmth of his palm. “I think you already know my answer, Jeon Wonwoo.”
“Mm, care to remind me?” With his free hand covering your other cheek, Wonwoo teasingly pulls you in once more.
This second kiss seemed much more rushed, much more hungry. Your hands hang onto his neck, fingers gripping onto his collar tighter than before. Your chest heaves faster, breath hitching between each prolonged kiss. Wonwoo’s breaths grow restless, a low toned groan escaping his lips as his brows furrow.
Just for this moment, you could be free.
12 days. You had about 12 days of complete peace.
It was the stuff of fairytales. He was a fairytale. Jeon Wonwoo was the best boyfriend you could ask for. It didn’t matter how much you two saw each other, being roommates didn’t stop you from having such magical dates outside of your apartment. Cafe, bookstores and libraries, parks, you name it; he took you there. Though, your favorite type of dates had to be after classes, when the two of you would drive out to the edge of the city, wait for the sky to paint black, and have a late night picnic under a blanket of stars. Despite how much he loved sleeping in, he never forgot to make you breakfast every morning. He drove you to school and back, exchanged book recommendations with you, and knew just how to comfort you when you couldn’t seem to swim in a sea of blue. Jeon Wonwoo was a dream, and this time, you never wanted to wake up.
The only thing that itched at the back of your brain, that kept everything from being perfect, was that everything was a secret. To your brother, most definitely, but you kept a low profile about it around school. Or well, you tried to. But there were some days where you truly couldn’t resist sneaking in a few kisses in between classes. However, when it came to your brother, it was all a secret. It was safer that way.
A faint ping! jumps from your phone. You pull out the device. Your eyes graze the screen, meeting an image of a cat stuffie, and possibly the most gut wrenching message you had read. Ever.
Wonwoo <3 [5:30]: This cat stuffie reminded me of you, so I bought it ,,^._.^,,
Wonwoo <3 [5:31]: Baby, at least like the message, I worked so hard on that cat emoji :(
You needed to punch something. You were dying from his cuteness, all while the word baby stirred something in your stomach. You opted to reply instead.
y/n [5:34]: ur so cute, yk that?
Wonwoo <3 [5:34] Please use real words y/n
y/n [5:34]: it's not my fault ur drier than a desert >:(
y/n [5:35]: luv u <3 ill be home soon!
You close your phone. His texting could use a little work, you thought as the voice of Seungkwan perked in your ears. You turn to the sound of his voice, watching him and Vernon sit down with their trays of food.
“You could've gotten your food earlier if you’d stop texting your man for once,” Seungkwan’s voice by the last few words grew cold and sour, just like that overpriced lemonade he sipped. Your eyes reached the stars, a tired ugh leaving your lips. “He’s working on his texting skills. Let him live, Seungkwan.”
“Ugh alright, fine.” Seungkwan tipped his head back. “You’re lucky you two are adorable.”
“Dude, weren’t you the one who wanted them together in the first-”
“Who’s side are you even on??” Seungkwan whined, to which Vernon only cocked an eyebrow. Seungkwan jabbed his shoulder, and Vernon turned his attention to you. “I’m happy for you, y/n.”
A grateful response was about to seep from your lips, however, you couldn’t help but notice a glint of worry in his eyes. You tilted your head and Vernon continued. “...I really am, but what about Mingyu?”
You steal a sip from Seungkwan’s sour lemonade, wincing. “We’re keeping it a secret for now.”
“For how long, though?” Vernon piqued, tone laced with worry. “It’s gonna be hard keeping this up for a while.”
It was as if Vernon’s words sweeped the words from your tongue. He was right. How long were you gonna really manage this? Just then another ping! pops from your side. You check it, expecting it to be another gut wrenching, dry text from your boyfriend. Instead, you receive something much, much worse.
MIDgyu [5:53]: You’re coming to the game, right?
You almost spat out the lemonade.
Wonwoo’s head was spinning in agitation, and it was for a multitude of reasons. The cheers of the crowd, the squeaks of the player’s shoes, the discombobulating boom of the buzzer, it all rattled with his entire being. And yet, what got on his nerves the most, was that he was sitting away from you.
He watched as he fiddled with his thumbs; the game didn’t really matter to him anymore. He only looked up every time Soonyoung— the one he did end up going with— hollered at a goal. It definitely wasn’t hard to notice. At least someone was ecstatic to be there. Wonwoo, however, couldn’t quite say the same.
Wonwoo knew all the reasons why you attended the game separately, and all the reasons why you couldn’t attend together. This was Mingyu’s game, your brother, and his best friend’s chance to shine. It was too risky to even step foot in that gym together. He looked over at you, sitting across the gym with your friends, laughing at something Vernon probably said. And besides, he came to cheer him on as a friend.
He knew all of that, so why did his heart hurt just a little bit?
Soonyoung glanced over, curious. “You good, man?”
Wonwoo couldn’t stop looking at you. “Yeah, for sure.”
The night was almost over.
That’s what you told yourself over and over again. The only thing that kept you sane. Panic was coursing through your veins, trying your hardest not to slip up in any way you thought possible. You loved your brother, but this was getting insane. Your sigh evolved into an irritated groan as you came back from rejecting your 20th invitation to grab a bite to eat after the game. You whip out your phone, suddenly all alone. Why did Seungkwan and Vernon have to leave already?
Just greet Mingyu and leave. You can still meet Wonwoo outside.
“Hey!” A voice ghosted your frame. You turn around stunned, but you have enough time to compose yourself before the voice continues. “Y/n, was it? Mingyu’s sister?”
You smile, eyes curling upwards to hide your anguish. “Yeah!”
The stranger stretched a hand out. “I’m Lee Chan! Nice to meet you!”
You could only hum a response before diving deep into horrid small talk. Judging by his jersey, hair soaked in sweat, and a water bottle in hand, you could tell he had just played. Your mind wanders aimlessly as you tune out his words. He didn’t seem harmless, so it didn’t really matter.
“So, I was wondering,” Chan suddenly starts, and you jolt back to reality. “Would you like to go get something to eat with me?” He jerks a thumb behind him, where your brother— and Wonwoo— sat.
Wonwoo’s frame appeared in your peripheral vision. Seeing him so far away, paying no attention to you; your heart sank just a little bit. Though, it wasn’t the physical distance that got to you, it was the reason why the distance was there.
Why did it hurt to keep it all a secret?
You smile, trying your best to let the athlete down gently. “Er, no thanks.”
“Oh come on!” Chan fought, a hand lightly gripping your wrist, though your reflexes were too slow to pull away in time. He was really starting to piss you off. “Just one date?”
Your brows furrowed. Tugging away from him, but it was no use. “I-”
“She told you her answer, didn’t she?” Another voice piqued behind you.
“Your sister’s single, right?” Chan’s voice irked Wonwoo’s ears. The athlete nudged Mingyu’s shoulder before taking a big swig from his water bottle. “I think I’m gonna ask her out!”
“Sure, buddy!” Mingyu shrugged, slapping Chan’s back before watching his teammate strut towards you. Wonwoo couldn’t help but scoff at Mingyu’s response.
A spark lit in the pit of Wonwoo’s stomach. No, you can’t ask her out, asshole. A sigh leaped from his chest, attempting to cool off the sparks popping on his skin— though it wouldn’t work. Wonwoo felt his skin burn, the blood beneath it boiling. He tapped his foot, his eyes never leaving Chan’s frame—which made its way to you so effortlessly, so shamelessly. Wonwoo wanted nothing more than to leap out of his seat and run to you.
His girlfriend.
Mingyu nudges Wonwoo’s shoulder, chuckling. “Something wrong, big guy?”
Wonwoo’s eyes grew narrow for a second, but he quickly collected himself. “All good.” He muttered with a half-assed smile. One glance at his best friend was a reminder that shot him right through the heart.
You were Wonwoo’s, but he could never prove it. He could never tell him.
“No seriously, what’s wrong? You’re quiet, yeah, but never this quiet.”
Wonwoo looked over to you, towering beneath Chan’s obnoxious one. He watched you smile at him, chuckling at a joke of his that probably wasn’t even funny. His jaw tightened, his knuckles growing white under the pressure. It was getting harder to compose himself.
Your friend’s flirting with my girlfriend in front of me, and I can’t do shit about it. That's what's wrong.
But he could never say it out loud.
Chan throws a hand on your wrist, not seeming to let go. Your eyes, painted with fear, glance at the floor. A flame ignited in Wonwoo’s stomach, steam practically seething from his ears. His hands ball up into fists. He didn’t bother to take one last glance at Mingyu before shooting up from his seat and doing what he should’ve done way before; go see you.
“What’s your problem man?” Chan’s voice echoes in the now empty gym. Under the pressure of Wonwoo’s firm grim, Chan finally lets go of your wrist. You hold it against your chest as you, habitually, stand behind Wonwoo. Chan glares at the two of you, turning to Wonwoo again. “What, are you like, her boyfriend or something?”
Your heart stung at the word boyfriend. You grew pale, unable to respond as panic washed over your face. Your heart leaped from your chest, clogging your throat. All your measly body could do was part its lips as it turned around to face Wonwoo, anticipating his answer.
His name jumped out of your throat instinctively. Wonwoo stared down at the athlete, his words leaving as a hiss. “Take the hint, already. She doesn’t wanna go out with you.”
“Alright, I get it.” Chan threw his hands up “Don’t need to get so pissed, dude.”
Your world was spinning. Fear, panic, anxiety; it all overtook you. Your mind was in multiple places at once. However, you couldn’t help but feel the slightest bit grateful for Wonwoo saving your ass— you weren’t sure if this Chan guy was capable of backing down. And yet, what you felt the most was the bitter taste of guilt; guilt for making your boyfriend feel all this anguish in the first place, making him keep the two of you a secret. After darting back and forth from the athlete and your secret boyfriend, your eyes finally stay on Wonwoo.
“Next time, think before you decide to hit on someone else’s girl.”
Your eyes widened, but you had no time to relish in your emotions as Wonwoo tugs at your arm, and marches out the door.
For the rest of the day you were silent. The air was tense in your apartment. The two of you uttered little to no words during dinner, and as the sun tucked itself into its blanket of midnight sky, the two of you barely gave the other a glance. You were overwhelmed, flowing to the brim with mixed emotions. You needed just a sliver of peace.
It wasn’t until you retired back to your own bed—the first time you did so in the days you two started dating—did Wonwoo speak to you again. You whip the door open, a little faster than you expected, and Wonwoo stands before you, head hanging low. His eyes finally meet yours, and you began to melt in his clutch once again. You couldn’t stay mad at him. He scratches the nape of his neck. “Can we talk?”
The two of you resume on the edge of your bed. He keeps a safe distance, only his pinky finger innocently grazing yours. “I’m really sorry, y/n. I lashed out at that guy who didn’t know any better. My own dumb feelings got in the way, and I probably ruined the secret. You have every right to be mad at me-”
As Wonwoo rambled on and on about how he was in the wrong, your mind could only think the complete opposite. After all, you didn’t want to hide Wonwoo anymore. You simply couldn't. Jeon Wonwoo meant too much to you, swelled your heart up with joy that you couldn’t fathom hiding him in the dark. With a huff, you finally come to a conclusion; you need to tell Mingyu. It didn’t matter if you’d come out the other end dead or with a missing limb. You loved Wonwoo too much to keep him a secret. Your mind couldn’t piece together the right words, so you collect his lips in a kiss.
Jeon Wonwoo wasn’t sure why you’d forgiven him so quickly, but the sweet taste of your lips were enough for him to melt, kissing you back.
“Do you think we could stop hiding this? Hiding us?” Wonwoo asks gently as he pressed your forehead against his, his voice toasting your skin. You smile, your giggles sending butterflies to Wonwoo’s stomach. “Yeah, I think we can.”
Grinning like a fool, Wonwoo pulls you into another kiss, his weight and the momentum of his movements toppling you onto the bed. One hand cupped your cheek, while the other planted itself beside you, pinning you against the bed. Your arms cling onto his neck, toying with the tag of his shirt as Wonwoo leaned further into you, his kisses leaving your mouth and trailing down your jaw. A warm sensation clouded between your legs.
His hand left your cheek, resuming at the hem of your shirt. After playing with the fabric, a finger slipped in; and then another, until his hand ghosted your bare waist. His touch sent shockwaves through your veins. Your breaths grew shallow as Wonwoo pulled apart from you briefly, his lips meeting your ear.
“May I?” His words didn’t reach past a whisper.
Face flushed, you grip tighter onto his shoulders. “Wonwoo,” You breathed.
“That’s not an answer, darling,” Wonwoo rasped. Your head was too heated, so you only managed to nod before Wonwoo snuck both his hands under your shirt. His fingers trailed up and up your body until he reached your tits. Wonwoo’s touch sent a whimper from your lips. Wonwoo twitched, his head dipping down to trail more kissed down your neck. His hands palmed your chest, pinching at the nipple sending more shockwaves to your spine. You arch your back, his name taking up your mind.
Wonwoo, Wonwoo, Wonwoo
The man taking up your mind tugged at your shirt, his eyes narrowing in hunger. You obeyed, lifting your arms as he pulled the fabric over your head. Within seconds, your pants also escaped your frame, leaving you bare, with just your panties on. Wonwoo pulls away from you, his eyes scanning your figure.
“You’re beautiful, y/n.” Wonwoo exhaled.
You pull him into another kiss, still hungry for his taste. Though it was also to hide your flustered face from his smooth words. You adjust your legs, brushing against a particular hardness tenting beneath his pants. Wonwoo groaned against your lips, setting your skin on fire. His muscles tense, and you send a teasing hand to palm his hardness. However, Wonwoo swiftly grabbed your wrist, throwing it above your head; holding you hostage.
“Not yet, darling” He grunted, eyeing you. “I’m not finished tasting you...” A hand resumed on your tit, making your squirm. “...Savouring you”
You mewl at the familiar words. He continued peppering kisses down your neck, then chest, and finally to your stomach. All while leaving bite marks here and there, claiming you. His voice rumbles against your skin. “You have no idea how long I’ve been dreaming about this. About you.”
It was as if your skin was a minefield, with how much it flared up at his words. You collect yourself, turning bold. “Shall we reenact your dreams, then?”
A glint of passion suddenly flared in his eyes, his hand roaming around in search for any way to make you moan. His lips arrive at your chest, and a hand grips onto your breast, lewd noises escaping your lips. You grip at his hair, which only fanned the fire as the other hand— which was already stationed between your legs— began to move. You didn’t even know when you had opened your legs.
Your core was much more than warm at this point. It was hot, steamy, pounding. But you couldn’t acknowledge it, not with your head spinning. Wonwoo’s fingers pressed further into you, playing with your folds through the fabric of your panties. Wonwoo chuckled. “You’re soaking, y/n.” He hooked his finger onto the fabric, pulling it aside in one swoop. He hissed. “And it’s all mine.”
One last whimper sent him flying off the edge. Ripping off your panties, Wonwoo slipped a finger into your folds. Your wetness sloshing between his fingertips. You let out a moan, biting your own fingers to contain the sound. Your head was spiralling, eyes rolling to the back of your head. Wonwoo was hitting all the right spots. Dirty noises began to bounce on the room’s walls as Wonwoo's fingers dug deeper into yours. He slipped another one in, spreading your core apart. You gripped the bed sheets, your hips gaining a mind of their own as they began to ride his fingers.
“My darling is so needy.” Wonwoo growled against your ear, making you shiver. His pace grew faster as your noises grew louder. With the pad of his thumb, he circled around your clit. You arched, the knot in your stomach tightening with each thrust of his hand. Your lips reached his jaw, peppering sloppy kisses on his skin. Anything to hold you down to reality. Wonwoo kissed your temple. “That’s it, darling. Cum on me.”
And you did. Your juices flowed out of your core, coating his palm. He brought his hand up, his eyes never leaving yours as he licked his palm clean; the reason why the warmth beneath your stomach never truly left.
Panting, you finally gain the strength to scan his frame, which was still fully clothed— much to your dismay. Your hands fly at his shirt’s hem. With his help, you pull it off, exposing his toned chest. You wanted to gawk, but you couldn’t bear to wait any longer. The thirst penetrating your core was killing you.
Impatient fingers tug at his pants— the tent beneath its fabric never leaving your sight. You wanted him, no, needed him in you. Wonwoo caught wind of your yearning stare, smiling as he unbuckled his pants. With one last kiss, he presses his forehead against yours. His voice reached back to a whisper. “Tell me what you want, baby. I’ll give you anything.”
You whimper, your sound driving Wonwoo crazy. “I need you, Wonwoo. I need you in me.”
Without thinking, your hips grind your raw core against his underwear’s fabric. Now, Wonwoo was the one filling the room with his groans. You felt his dick twitch beneath the fabric as he reached forward, getting a condom. A string of curses leave his lips as you smile at the realization that he was breaking his composure because of you. Opening the silver packaging, Wonwoo pulls his cock out, your breath hitching.
You gaped at his size, eyes darting between his head and his, well, head. Wonwoo’s fingers ghosted your core once again, sending more shivers down your skin. With the plastic coating it, Wonwoo lines up his dick in between your folds, the contact igniting a flame that never went out to begin with. “Are you sure you want this, princess? We could always-”
“Wonwoo, I need you to fuck me right now or so help me god.” You blurted out, catching both you and your boyfriend off guard. He smiles, kissing the knuckles of your hand, making your stomach flutter. “As you wish, princess.”
Wonwoo finally thrusted into you, his girth grazing every inch of your walls. Your back arched, a moan bursting from your lungs. Wonwoo’s groans filled your ears with each— painfully slow —thrust. Your walls clamped onto his cock, holding him so well. His thrusts grew faster, a hand dipping down to your core, while another hand landed back on your breast. He fondled your nipple, which peaked from arousal— a sight that made Wonwoo twitch in your core. His other hand began slow circles on your clit once again, and you were convinced you were seeing stars.
Sounds of wet sloshes echoed, but they were no match for your booming noises and callings of each other’s names. Your nails dug deeper into his back, as Wonwoo’s thrusts grew more sloppy. He dug his dick further into you, making you squirm.
“I think I’m gonna-” You couldn’t bother to finish.
“I know, darling. Let’s come together, hm?”
Another mewl escapes. You hated how respectful he was.
Wonwoo thrusts one last time, and the two of you reach your climaxes. White fluid pools between your legs, and Wonwoo pulls out. Breathless, he pulls out before plopping beside you on the bed. Finally getting a chance to breathe, you look over to him, smiling. “Woah.”
Wonwoo snickers. “Really? Woah? That’s what you’re going with?”
You punch his shoulder, though it was too weak for him to even notice. “Hey! Don't blame me, I can’t think straight! Someone just fucked my brains out, cut me some slack!”
Wonwoo pulls you in for a hug. “I love you, y/n.”
You smile against his chest. “I love you more, Wonnie.”
“Care to explain?” The voice of your brother echoed in your apartment living room the next morning. You and Wonwoo sat in front of the aggravated Kim Mingyu, who had just found out the truth after his teammate spilled the beans at practice earlier that morning. Your exact fear was accumulating in front of your eyes. You hated to admit it, but you missed your cheerful brother. He was loads better than this new, grumpy Mingyu.
“Just sit down, okay? I’ll explain everything!” You flare up, catching the guy’s attention. Slowly, Mingyu inches down, until he reaches your eye level. “Yes, Wonwoo and I have been dating for some time now-”
“Why didn’t you guys tell me? Why’d you have to keep it a secret?”
You heaved a sigh and Wonwoo took over. “‘Cause we knew you’d react just like this. I know its wrong to date your sister just because we’re friends, but…”
Wonwoo glances back at you. “I love her too much.”
He turns his attention back to your brother, who was suddenly quiet. “I’m not willing to give her up anymore. So, if you’re unhappy with us, I don’t know what to tell you.”
The room goes quiet, you and Mingyu both stunned at Wonwoo’s confession. Mingyu looks at the both of you before letting out a sigh. He then turns to you. “Look, I admit, this’ll take some getting used to, but if you’re that serious about each other then… I guess I can learn to live with it. Just, no more secrets, okay?”
Your face brightens immediately, jumping towards your now non-secret boyfriend. You grew ecstatic, jumping for joy like a little kid. You turn to your brother, grinning like crazy.
Mingyu couldn’t help but grin at the sight of you. He turns to Wonwoo, jabbing a finger at him. “I know you’re my best friend, but if you ever try to hurt her, I will end you. Got it?”
Wonwoo glances down at you, curled perfectly in his arms. “I wouldn’t dream of it.”

Hannigram Fic Recs!
These are just a select few of my personal favorites. I'm sorry if these are too long but I mostly only read long fics
Shark Tank by xzombiexkittenx (71k) (Explicit) - Will and Hannibal meet in prison. Hannibal is still the Ripper, Will is still a profiler who had encephalitis. Only now they're cell mates (SO GOOD and i love love the ending of this one)
Five Times Hannibal Visits Will and One Time He's Already Home (or: Coffee Cake) by bones_2_be (82k) (Explicit) - When Will tells Hannibal to leave at the end of Digestivo, he goes. And then, a few years later, he shows back up. They have long conversations, drink a lot of wine, at the end of it all they find something that works.
In Sickness and in Health by BonesAndScales (76k)(Mature) - Everyone knows that Will and Hannibal are married. Not everyone knows that they are married to each other. (SO CUTE)
Letters to You by Wr4tttttthh (17k)(Explicit) - Will and Hannibal want to learn to love. It isn't easy, it never was. (Post-Fall where they both keep a journal and they write letters to each other. There's some angst but its so so so sweet such a good read)
Time Waits for No One by Shotgun_sinner (104k)(Explicit) - After Will turns Hannibal away in Digestivo, he does not surrender to Jack. Instead, he heads to Cuba with Chiyoh, where he recovers from emotional and physical wounds. Hannibal was resolved to let Will go, and he does. Until he reads a Wedding Engagement announcement, that is. (THIS ONE IS SO GOOOD)
On Hiatus by Observe_or_Participate (197k)(Explicit) - AU where Abigail and Hannibal met in similar circumstances to those narrated in S1, only without Will being in the picture. They bonded. 4 years later, it's early summer 2021. Hannibal and Abigail are living in Tuscany as father and daughter, where they run a high-end bed and breakfast in a remote location on the hills... amongst other things. FBI profiler Will Graham, on leave from work after the restrictions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic worsened his already iffy mental health, arrives on the premises, for reasons he is not fully ready to admit to himself. An incendiary attraction between our two boys is inevitable, but how honest can they really be with each other? (THIS IS SO UNDERRATED OMG)
between here and there by deadratz (78k)(Explicit) - Will's name is the last word Hannibal spoke in his presence. That was two months ago, directly after the fall, and Hannibal has not said a single word since. Now Will has to navigate through their lives together without Hannibal's voice to guide him. (PLEASE READ THIS ONE IT IS SO BEAUTIFUL)
Falling Away with You by Shotgun_sinner (191k)(Explicit) - Will Graham is a private detective with a fiancée who doesn't understand him, his empathy disorder, or his obsession with catching the Chesapeake Ripper. His night terrors force him into an ultimatum; couple's therapy, or their relationship is done. Will meets his new therapist, Hannibal Lecter, and his entire world is turned upside down. (this is one of the first hannigram fics i ever read and i still come back to it often it is so good)
Dianthus Barbatus by Cynthia_Cross (84k)(Explicit) - Set 10 years before the start of the show, Will and Hannibal meet in the dead of night while dumping the bodies of their respective victims in the same place. (THIS IS SOME GOOD SHIT HERE)
With a Crown of Stars by romanticallyinept (33k)(Explicit) - When the call connects, Will says, “I know what kind of crazy I am, but I’m not this kind of crazy.” “Will?” Dr. Lecter says. “Yes, hi, sorry,” Will says. “It’s me. There’s a baby on my porch.” (A cute kidfic to end with. I was grinning the whole time)
I hope you guys enjoy these. If you read any of them(or have read them before) tell me your thoughts. I feel like i don't have anyone to scream with about fics

hey! i love all ur fics sm (esp the bodyguard gaz ones omg i ate those up like candy 😩)
u don’t have to write this if u don’t want, but tf141 (and lv, if u write for them) and body worship?(separately, not poly) like fem reader’s had a tough day or wtv, n she’s feeling insecure so they js like show her how beautiful she rlly is
could be sfw or nsfw it’s ur choice
if that’s too many characters then feel free to leave some out!
have a good day/night ‼️
babygirl gaz my beloved <3 i need to write more on that. that unofficial series is a train wreck honestly but i love them so much. and oo i do love some good body worship. i don't really write for our sweet cowboys because i'm not all too comfortable with characterizing them yet, but i'll give you some hc's of our 141 boys!
Tumblr media
Simon
he is honestly really surprised when he first learns that you're insecure about yourself. you're the most beautiful thing in the world to him, and really he's dumbfounded you don't see yourself that way.
i feel like he's one to stand behind you in the mirror with his hands on your hips and whisper sweet affirmations to you. how he loves the curve of your nose, how your teeth peek through your lips when you smile, how your eyes always shine when you look at something you love.
he whispers this all while you're looking in the mirror because he has to make you see what he sees. he's spent his fair share of time looking at his reflection, the scars on his face, his crooked nose, and hating every moment of it. he refuses to let you do the same, and so he plans to rewrite all of those emotions.
or he can just fuck you like he does in this drabble i wrote a while ago lmao.
Kyle
he always calls you pet names that are along the lines of "pretty girl" "my girl" things like that, so when you mention something about disliking your appearance, his brain literally restarts. his pretty girl? feeling insecure about herself? that simply won't do.
i feel like his immediate reaction would be to just kiss the pain away. sort of like how parents will kiss their child's injury if they scrape their knee or bruise themself, he does that but like all over.
he's kissing your nose, your forehead, your lips (of course) but more than that. he's trailing kisses down your arms, along your stomach, your legs, all the parts of you that only the sun had ever kissed before.
and of course he's whispering praises to you the entire time. doesn't even have to be in a sexual way either. you're the love of his life, and it saddens him that you feel down about yourself. so he'll just kiss away the bad thoughts until there's nothing left but his love.
Johnny
when he hears you say something degrading about yourself, Johnny is a little too enthusiastic and excited about correcting you. you're the most beautiful thing he's ever laid eyes on, and he's going to make sure you see yourself that way too.
he's definitely the most handsy out of all of the boys. he's rubbing his hands up your arms, over your stomach, tracing your spine with his fingers. but then it escalates. he's groping your tits, pawing at your thighs and ass.
really, you can't blame the man when he eventually ends up between your thighs. you're just too pretty to resist, after all. look at what you do to him! bewitching him with your beauty, turning him into a pussy drunk man that can't get enough of you.
also, this might be his way of pavloving you. conditioning you into loving yourself as he draws orgasm after orgasm out of you. no, you'll stop shying away and disagreeing when people call you pretty or compliment you, you'll just get insanely horny lmao
Price
i actually just wrote a little thing about him and body image issues last night! and really, i think he would totally do this.
the whole getting on his knees in front of you as if you were royalty, holding your hands in his, just looking up at you with so much love and adoration. he'll caress you softly while he speaks because honestly he can't get enough of you.
he'd meet your insecurities with mostly rational ideas. how your body is normal, your appearance is perfect, you're beautiful inside and out type thing. i feel like out of all the boys he might have the hardest time appealing to you emotionally with that stuff.
doesn't mean he won't try, though! he'll constantly affirm you, treat you like royalty and all that good stuff. he'll cook you a nice meal, and maybe the two of you will cuddle on the couch. really, he'll just try and fill you with so much love until you forget about what had upset you in the first place.

Don't Tell Anyone
Pairing: Dean Winchester x Reader
Request: could you write a fic where the reader takes care of a sick and emotional dean? just a lot of comfort and caring
Masterlist
Story:
"Hey Sam, you seen Dean yet?" [Y/N] asked as she walked into the bunker's kitchen to find Sam enjoying a coffee. It was almost noon, she'd slept in late after only arriving back in the bunker from a long hunt at 4am that morning.
"Haven't seen him". He shrugged, taking a sip from his coffee. "You sleep okay? I thought I heard you up and moving around earlier when I was leaving for my jog".
"You went for your jog this morning? Do you just not need sleep?" She asked, sitting down opposite him.
"I may have slept most of the way on the drive back last night". He smiled sheepishly before getting up to make her a coffee. "I'd say he's still asleep, it was a long drive, even for him". He set the coffee down in front of her and sat back down. "How come you were up and awake earlier?" He asked again and she shrugged.
"I woke up and couldn't really sleep, so I did a bit of tidying".
"Everything okay?"
"Yeah". She smiled at him and took a sip of her drink. "Thanks for this".
"Of course. I'm heading out on a supply run, do you need anything?" She shook her head and he stood up, walked around to her and bent down to press a kiss to the top of her head. "I'll see you in a bit, try wake Dean up if he doesn't get up on his own in the next hour, he'll get annoyed if he sleeps in too long". She nodded at him and he left her to drink the rest of her coffee. Sam and Dean were always looking out for her, ever since she moved into the bunker, they did little things for her like make her food, check up on her, give her hugs and forehead kisses. She suspected that they both liked having someone that they could look after, someone who returned their affection, though they'd never admit it out loud. Sam was like a big brother to her, and Dean was... well, Dean was a bit different. The truth was she was worried about him. The hunt had taken a lot out of him, and he looked completely drained by the time they'd arrived back in the bunker. He looked pale, he had bags under his eyes, and he barely said a word to either of them before he closed his bedroom door behind him. She hadn't been tidying her room earlier that morning, she'd been pacing back and forth debating with herself whether or not to go check on him.
Dean wasn't great at opening up to people. He was a great listener to [Y/N] when she needed it, but he wasn't a great talker when he needed it. He was amazing at showing how much he cared for her, but the moment anyone tried to show that they cared for him, he'd brush it off. He'd never let her stitch herself up after a hunt, but he'd insist on stitching himself up if he could. He didn't like people asking if he was okay, and on the occasion that either [Y/N] or Sam were pestering him about his emotional state, he'd snap at them and shut them out for days. That's why, even though they were very close, [Y/N] had decided not to check on him that morning and to just let him be, let him come out in his own time.
She finished her coffee and went to shower and get dressed, she wasn't planning on doing anything too strenuous for the day, her muscles still aching from the hunt. An hour after Sam had left, Dean still hadn't made any appearance. She'd walked past his door a couple of times going between the bathroom and her room, and she'd noticed that there was no light under the door.
She was sitting in the library filling in her journal about the hunt when Sam arrived back after another hour had passed. "Hey, wanna help me put some things away?" He asked her, and she hopped up to take a bag from him. They set the supply bags down on one of the tables and began to sort through them, making a pile for the kitchen, a pile for the bathroom, and a pile for the infirmary. "So is Dean up? I was going to suggest we go out for drinks tonight". Sam said as he started to go through the pile destined for the kitchen, putting all the items into one of the empty bags.
"Oh, I uh.. I didn't wake him up". [Y/N] said as she busied herself with the pile for the bathroom. "Is this conditioner for you or for me?" She held up the bottle of expensive brandname conditioner and Sam's cheeks went a bit pink.
"I thought we could share it". [Y/N] giggled at how embarrassed the hunter looked and packed it into the bag. "So, Dean's not up? It's well into the afternoon now, it's not like him". He picked up his now full bag. "Why don't you go wake him up? See if he wants to go out later".
"I don't want him to be annoyed at me for waking him".
"He won't be annoyed if you come bearing gifts". Sam winked at her and took a small boxed pie from the top of the bag, handing it to her. She sighed and nodded at him as he left the room. It was time to disturb Dean. She walked down the corridor to his room and stood outside, noting that his light still seemed to be off. She felt nervous, she hated it when Dean was annoyed, especially when it was directed at her. They didn't fight often at all, only really ever having one major argument, but for small things, like eating the last of his pie, or waking him up before he was ready, he'd give her the silent treatment. Whenever she looked back on it she could see that he was being childish, and she actually found it quite funny and would have a little laugh about it with Sam afterwards, but when it was happening in the moment, she hated it.
She took a deep breath and knocked on his door. No answer. Thinking maybe she wasn't loud enough, she knocked harder. Still no answer. She stood there for a moment listening to see if she could hear any movement from inside the room, but there was nothing. Finally, she pushed the door open. It was dark, but the light from the hallway lit up Dean's bed, and he was lying in it. He was on his stomach, his hands under his pillow and his face towards [Y/N], his eyes closed. She walked towards him carefully, she knew that even in the sanctuary of the bunker he still sometimes slept with a gun under his pillow after a hunt. "Dean?" She called out quiety, keeping a safe distance. He didn't respond. "Dean?" She tried again, a bit louder. He breathed in quickly and his eyes opened, looking lost for a moment before he saw her.
"What?" He mumbled.
"Are you okay? You've been in bed all afternoon".
Dean grumbled something before turning his head to face away from her. She took a step closer to him.
"What did you say?" She asked him, but he only grumbled again into his pillow. She took another step closer and reached out her hand to touch his shoulder, to find that he was radiating a lot of heat and the shoulder of his t-shirt was wet. She pulled her hand back in shock before reaching over him to place the back of her hand against his forehead, causing him to grumble again. "Dean, you're burning up! Why didn't you come and get me or Sam?" She pulled back his cover in an attempt to cool him down a bit, and once again he grumbled. "I can't hear you if you talk into the pillow".
He finally looked up and glared at her. "I said, I tried, I couldn't get out of bed". Her eyes softened as she looked at him properly. He was just as pale as he had been the previous night, the bags under his eyes were now darker, and now his eyes were red too. He'd been crying. She set the pie she'd been holding down on his desk and then sat down on the edge of his bed.
"You're sick Dean, you have a temperature". She pushed his damp hair off his forehead to feel it again and he rolled his eyes.
"Yeah, I know".
"Will you put away the tough guy attitude for a minute and let me take care of you?" She looked him in the eyes and watched as his wall tumbled down. His lip quivered and his eyes watered as she moved her hand down to cup his cheek, he closed his eyes and let a tear drop down as he couldn't help but lean into her touch. Her heart broke for him, she'd only ever seen him cry once before, and that was on a very difficult hunt when he thought Sam had died again. She knew he must be feeling extremely under the weather to break like that. "Dean... come on, sit up and let me give you a hug before I go get you some water and something to get your fever down". She put her hands behind his shoulders and helped pull him up, noticing that his shirt was soaked completely. Ignoring it, she pulled him close and he leaned his chin on her shoulder, wrapping his arms around her and wincing slightly at the ache he felt from the movement. "I've got you". She whispered, running her fingers up and down his back.
Dean showed no sign of letting go, so after a few more minutes she pulled back, not missing his whimper. "I'm going to get you some cold water and some flu medicine, Sam just finished a supply run so we should be all stocked up". She moved to stand up but he grabbed her wrist, pulling her back down into a hug.
"No, don't go". He mumbled into her shoulder. She couldn't help but melt at the rare vulnerability he was showing her. She let him hold her for another few minutes before even she was getting too hot from his skin contact.
"Okay, tell you what, I'll go get some stuff that will help you get better, and then I'll stay here with you until you fall asleep. How does that sound?" She asked. Dean didn't answer straight away, but eventually nodded against her neck and pulled away, leaning back against his bed's headboard. She quickly leaned forward and kissed his forehead, smiling when she saw his face relax from her touch, and left the room to go and find Sam.
She found him in the kitchen, putting stuff into the fridge. "Hey! Get Dean up?" He asked as she walked into the room.
"Yeah... he's not getting up any time soon. He's sick, looks like the flu. He's looking pretty rough". She sighed and Sam turned around to give her his full attention. "Did you buy Tylenol earlier?" She asked him and he nodded.
"Yeah I did, I'll go get it, I'll meet you back in his room. Is he coughing or anything?" Sam looked worried, neither of them got sick very often, especially Dean. He began walking to the door, turning back to wait for an answer.
"No I don't think so, just the fever, he seems a bit... emotional too".
"Emotional?" He raised an eyebrow at her.
"Yeah, like, needy".
"We should get the fever down quickly, he's not gonna be happy with that". Sam chuckled before leaving the room. [Y/N] filled up a glass of water, and added a lot of ice. She grabbed a towel and dampened it in cold water too, then made her way back to Dean's room. He was still sitting up when she walked in, but his eyes were closed.
"Dean? You awake?" She asked as she sat down on the edge of the bed beside him. He nodded without opening his eyes. "Okay, let's get that shirt off you, okay? Can you raise your arms?" He nodded but didn't move his arms. "Dean? Your arms?"
"You wanna see me naked?" His voice was slurred and his eyes were still closed but he did manage to smirk.
"I want to get your shirt off, it's soaked from sweat and you're overheating in it". She blushed a little and was glad he wasn't opening his eyes to see it. "If you raise your arms I can help you get it over your head".
"You wanna see me naked". He chuckled but raised his arms up a bit. She bit her lip trying not to laugh, not wanting to encourage him, and helped pull his shirt off.
"Hey, got the Tylenol". Sam walked into the room, a small tub of pills in one hand and a thermometer in the other. "You look like shit". He said as he approached his brother. Dean mocked him and opened his eyes for the sole purpose of rolling them at Sam, but let him take his temperature. "Here, take his temperature every thirty minutes or so to monitor it. It's high but not too bad". Sam handed the thermometer and pills to [Y/N]. "Good luck with him, come get me if you need anything". He patted her shoulder and left the room. [Y/N] put the thermometer down and handed the cold glass of water to Dean along with two pills, which he quickly knocked back.
"Lie down, I have a cold towel for your forehead". She said as she took the glass back from him. He did as she said and began to pull his covers up but she stopped him.
"You're too hot Dean, no covers".
"Thank you". He smirked at her, this time it was her turn to roll her eyes at him.
"You can't help yourself, can you?" She sighed at him as she placed the towel on his forehead. "Do you ever feel insecure?" She giggled as she noticed him smirking again as he shrugged his shoulders.
"Can I tell you a secret?" He whispered so quietly she almost didn't hear him.
"Yeah". She whispered back.
"Don't tell anyone".
"I won't". She promised.
"Sometimes I feel insecure around you".
"Me?" She wasn't sure what he meant.
"Yeah, you're so pretty. I like looking at you".
"You're delirious, it must be the fever". She reached across to get the thermometer but Dean opened his eyes and the smirk was gone, he looked completely serious as he grabbed her wrist.
"I mean it, I look at you all the time... I imagine things about you".
"Dean..."
"No like... Nice things. I imagine you cuddling up to me when we watch a movie, I imagine holding your hand, and long hugs, and kissing". He was staring straight into her eyes as he said these things, and she felt her cheeks heat up.
She cleared her throat. "Why don't you try and get some sleep? You must be tired".
"Do you not imagine those things too?" He suddenly looked sad and hurt.
"You tell me those things again when you're not sick with a high fever and then we can talk about it, okay?"
"You don't like me back". A tear fell from his eye.
"Aww, Dean, of course I like you back". She quickly brushed his tear away with her thumb, then kept her hand on his face, stroking his cheek lightly.
"Why would you like me?" He sniffed.
"Well, you're kind and caring, you make me laugh, and you're actually really sweet".
"I'm hot too". He pointed out, pulling another giggle from her.
"Yeah, you're hot too, but you already knew that".
"If you think all of that then why don't you kiss me?" She felt the familiar sensation of butterflies in her stomach. Even a sick Dean Winchester who was pale with dark circles under his eyes was still undeniably attractive. She leaned down and quickly kissed his cheek, pulling back to see his eyes were closed and he was wearing a smile. His grip on her wrist loosened and she realised he'd fallen asleep. She smiled to herself before leaving to go get her journal, she'd decided she could fill it out in Dean's room so she'd be there if he needed anything.
She spent the next couple of hours filling in her journal and reading over her previous entries, making notes here and there as she thought of them, then moved on to doing a bit of research. She'd checked Dean's temperature a few times as he slept, and she was glad to see that it was gradually going down. She'd replaced the cool towel on his head too, and Sam had come in to check on both of them, bringing her some dinner at some point. It was late evening when she put down the book she'd been reading and yawned. She pushed the chair back to get up and check Dean's temperature again when he stirred, woken up by the sound of the chair scraping along the floor. "Hey". She smiled at him.
"Hey". He said back, looking around. The dark circles under his eyes had brightened up a bit, but he still looked tired. "How long have you been in here?" He asked, pulling the towel off his head.
"Most of the day". She said, gesturing at the stack of books she'd been going through.
"You not worried about catching whatever it is I have?"
"If I do then you'll just have to look after me instead". She smiled at him. "Are you hungry? You should have some water". Dean sat up as she handed him the glass and she sat down beside him.
"Not really. Seriously though, you should go, what if you get sick before I'm better?"
"Well then Sam can look after both of us. Do you want me to go?" She asked as she took the glass back from him, and he shook his head.
"No, I guess if you've been in here all day with me then you've probably already got it. Let me feel your forehead".
She giggled at him. "You're not gonna be able to tell, your hands are too warm".
"Then take your temperature". He attempted to reach over for the thermometer in her hand but she pulled it back.
"I'm looking after you, remember? You should go back to sleep, it's late. I'm gonna go back to my room, I'm tired too, but if you need anything just text me, okay?"
"You're leaving?" His shoulders dropped.
"It's night time Dean, I need to go to bed".
"There's a bed here". He frowned at her.
"Your bed is kind of already taken". She smiled at him and stood up.
"Wait! No, look, there's room for one more, see?" He moved over in the bed, leaving a space for her. She'd never seen him use puppy eyes before, there was no way she could say no to him.
"Are you sure?" She wasn't sure a not-sick Dean would be comfortable with sharing a bed with her. They'd shared beds before while out on hunts, always out of necessity though. There was no need for [Y/N] to sleep in Dean's bed tonight when her own was just across the hall.
"Can I tell you another secret?" He asked and she nodded. "I like when we have to share a bed. You snuggle up to me and it's really nice, I sleep better when I can hold you".
"When you're better you're going to hate yourself for saying all this and being all soft". She giggled. He gave her another pleading look and she gave in, lying down beside him. He immediately wrapped an arm around her waist and tucked his head into her neck. It was a bit uncomfortable with how hot he still was, but when he started to rub his thumb against her waist, combined with her already sleepiness, she drifted off.
***
[Y/N] felt like she was floating, up and down, slowly and steadily. Then she felt a light breeze on the top of her head, in time with the floating. The next thing she became aware of was something trailing up and down her back, and then the sound of breathing, which matched both the up and down motion and the air she felt on her head. She opened her eyes and found herself lying on Dean's bare chest. Looking up she caught his eyes looking down at her. "Morning". He said, continuing to run his hand up and down her back. Suddenly feeling self conscious, she looked back down.
"Sorry... you asked me to stay, and you were sick, I couldn't leave but I needed to sleep".
"Hey, it's okay, I remember I didn't really give you a choice". He chuckled and brought his hand up to hold the back of it against her forehead. "I think you have a temperature". He whispered and she laughed and looked up at him. "Sorry about that, I didn't mean to make you sick... but I do really like sharing a bed with you, I slept very well". He smiled at her and she blushed, surprised that he was saying that now that he didn't seem too tired or sick.
"I slept really well too, but I do feel a bit achy now that I'm awake". She began to nervously trace her finger around his tattoo, very much aware that she was still on top of him and he hadn't made any move to get her off him.
"How about you stay here in my bed and I look after you? I'm feeling a lot better". He offered.
"I could go to my own bed?" She countered, hoping he would tell her to stay again.
"You could, but your bed is smaller and I don't know if we'll both fit in it tonight". He started to play with a strand of her hair. She'd never seen Dean nervous before, but he was avoiding eye contact while waiting for her to respond.
"I like this open version of you". She smiled at him and he chuckled.
"It's just for you. Don't tell anyone, especially not Sam". He brushed the strand he'd been playing with behind her ear. "Speaking of Sam, why would I get out of bed to get you medicine when I can continue to hold you and just text him to get it?"
"Do you remember everything you said yesterday?" She asked him.
"I remember telling you I liked you, that you're pretty, and I remember you kissing my cheek". He reached over to grab his phone to text Sam. "How about once we're both better we go out, like for drinks or something, and maybe I could get a proper goodnight kiss". His smirk was back and she lay her head back on his chest nodding her head.
"Yeah, I'd like that".
"Then it's a date Sweetheart".
The end

It was your full bladder that had woken you early and made you slip out of Namor’s hold, as you stumbled your way into the washroom still half-asleep. You stayed still for a moment, frowning when you noticed something wasn´t quite right. You tried to awake your brain a little bit to try and focus if there was anything wrong with your body, but nothing set off any alarm bells or made you feel agitated or apprehensive. It was quite the oppositive, you felt different and it was making you a little mad not knowing what was happening.
You shook your head, and after finishing your business you returned to the bed, not caring if you woke Namor up while you tried to get comfortable once again, you grasped his arm and hold it up, dropping it on your waist. You felt his chest ruffled with laughter and a soft kiss on your shoulder before holding you closer to his body. You close your eyes contently and tried to get back to sleep.
That’s when you opened it.
You were pregnant.
How the hell did that happened? Okey, you knew how it had happened but you didn’t think it would be this fast, I mean, it was a few days after your union, you thought you needed to well, do it more times?
No wonder why your bladder was a pain every single hour of the day, you couldn’t sleep as the fog cleared from your mind, and you felt…happy? You always wanted a family of your own, after your mother decided to only had you and no more children, you wanted a big family. In the few months you had been married to Namor, he had gone quite protective of you and you wanted to think he was ready to have a family, but you couldn’t tell him yet, you needed to make sure it was a reality.
When you open your eyes once again, you noticed Namor’s side of the bed empty, you sighed while your eyes stared at the ceiling, you needed to make your way to K’ha’nha, one of the oldest women in the village, she would definitely tell you if your suspicions were correct.
The way to her small corner was an eventful one, every talokanil nodded at your way, a form of courtesy, addressing you as their queen. You smiled, trying to force it to be natural and not a strained one. You gently knocked at the door and K’ha’nha greeted you with a warm embrace.
“In wojel Ba'axten a te'ela', in reina.” I know why you are here, my queen. The old woman smiled, guiding you to a sit and offering you some food. “Buka'aj k'iin ku beetik a wojel?” How long have you known? She asked you.
“Bixi?” How? You asked her confused. “Táant u notar o'oniak.” I just noticed last night.
K’ha’nha smiled, holding your hands in hers. “Táan a resplandeciente, in reina.” You are glowing, my queen.
And you knew she wouldn’t tell you how does she knew, but you didn’t care, as it was now confirmed.
You waited for your husband patiently, sitting on the bed with your legs crossed. Although you never had a way with words, you had never found yourself without them when you married Namor, but there was something about telling him this news that made you worry for his reaction, so you brace yourself for it. Your emotions were all over the place, but mostly you were happy. You were happy, scared and shocked, but mostly happy.
And a part of yourself feared he wouldn’t feel the same.
You stared at the entrance of your shared place and when he finally entered, you force yourself to remained sited on the bed. Namor noticed there was something off with you and the deepest part of himself wanted to be closer to you, hold you and protected you from anything that caused you to be stressed.
He walked closer, kneeling in front of you and holding your hands in his. “What is it?” He spoke in english, still trying to get you used to that strange language, something a queen needed to do to help protect the kingdom. “You are stressed.”
“Teene’…”
“English, you need practice.”
You sighed, closing your eyes, trying to form the sentence in your head. “I am pregnant?” It ended as a question, the words still a bit wobbly on your tongue. How much you hated not being able to speak your mother tongue.
Namor stared at you without moving and you tried to smiled a little to sooth whatever was on his mind. “I went to K’ha’nha, she say I was.”
“I…I have no idea what to say, in yakunaj.” Even though he encourage you to speak in english, he still never said my love in that language, a bit dirty on his tongue, not calling you his love in other way that it wasn’t his mother tongue.
“I do not want you to say anything.” You kissed his hands. “I just need to know if we are ready with this.”
“Ready?” Your smile fell a little when he asked that, and Namor hated himself for it. “In yakunaj.” He leaned forward and kissed you, a bit greedily. He was happy, no. He was excited. Namor rested his forehead against yours as he spoke. “The moment I decided to be yours, I would be only yours. You have made me want things I never would have expected to want.” He massaged your stomach gently. “You had given me so much yet I have not given in return, I cannot lose you not after that day, not again."
You frowned. “K'uk'ulkan, you have given me enough, you had given me this gift, you will not lose me...us”
Namor laughed, a few tears straining his eyes as his gaze was drawn to your stomach. “How does it feel?” He softly asked you. Your hands drying away some tears that managed to escape his eyes. “To have my sanity in your hands.” His hand wrapped at your neck from behind, dragging you forward until his lips were on your forehead. He would do anything to protect you…to protect the both of you.
“Dramatic.” You smiled, using once again that word he thought you long ago.
He chuckled, shaking his head before kissing you. “I must prepare the others.”
“Prepare?”
“Yes.” He kissed you again. “The celebration must began preparations.”
“Celebration?” You stared at him in confusion as he was standing up and walking to the entrance. “I do not understand?”
“You have given me the greatest news, the others must know so we can celebrate the addition of another talokalin, my child.” Namor smiled brightly before leaving you there. Confuse and afraid of how big this celebration would be.

content: nsfw, sort of fluff sort of angst, afab reader, oral f. receiving, rough; trouble sleeping, bad dreams, and a midnight snack…
note: thank you for the request! sorry i took forever. i love kitchen sex and i could write about it a dozen times. this isn’t quite as good as the fifty shades scene — and it’s a lot more emotional (i got carried away? hope that’s okay) — but it’s not half bad. enjoy!!
Tumblr media
each night, sanji locks the kitchen to keep a certain someone from eating everything in his sleep, but he’d gifted you (as well as nami and robin) with a key to enter if you ever desired to.
you’d never used it before — you were hardly the type to crave a midnight snack — but after tossing and turning in bed for the past hour, you quietly felt around the darkness of your room, searching for the key.
if anything, at least a trip to the kitchen would let zoro sleep in peace.
the swordsman laid sprawled across your bed, mouth slightly agape as light snores escaped him. you had struggled to remove yourself from his arms without waking him. he was usually a light sleeper but, strangely, he hadn’t stirred at all.
you weren’t too surprised; he’d come to bed exhausted after a late night workout, snuggling into you, not letting you say a word before muttering something about his room being too far and your bed being comfier. he was fast asleep in a matter of seconds — unlike you, whose thoughts wouldn’t allow her a moment of rest.
as you searched your nightstand for the key, zoro’s hand seemed to search for you beside him, but beyond that he gave no sign of waking up any time soon. the last thing you wanted was to wake him; so, as soon as you found the key, you stepped out of the room, shutting the door as quietly as you could.
you took your time making your way to the kitchen, letting your tired mind wander back to the image of zoro asleep at your side, the warmth of his skin, the rise and fall of his bare chest, the weight of his arm wrapped around you… it should have been enough to lull you to sleep but all you could do was think.
even with zoro at your side, all you could do was worry that you were drifting apart. it felt like the only time you spent with him anymore was on the nights he didn’t have watch duty, when he wandered into your room with some excuse to sleep beside you. it wasn’t like he needed a reason, but something told you zoro must have felt the same way you did. like something was changing between you.
he was with you a few nights a week at most — nowhere near as much as you’d like. sometimes he’d listen to you tell him about your day as you rested your head against his chest, but most nights were like tonight; he’d wrap his arms around you, pulling you close to him, before falling asleep. in the morning, he was always gone before you woke. you’d tried keeping him company in the crow’s nest, too, but you never managed to stay awake long. by morning, you’d find yourself in the comfort of your bed.
so when you were laying beside him, all you could think about was that it felt like you were always missing him. it pained you to look at him and notice that his hair had grown longer or that he had scars you didn’t recognize and didn’t have a clue where he’d gotten them.
it pained you to fall asleep beside him when you knew he wouldn’t be there in the morning.
the scent of delightfully sweet desserts pulled you from your melancholy as you entered the kitchen. you couldn’t be more grateful that sanji had spent the entire afternoon baking; chocolate wouldn’t solve your problems, but you could still try. at the very least, it was a perfect temporary fix. you took a seat on the counter beside the treats, swinging your legs as you questioned what to eat first.
“there you are. what’re you doing in here?” zoro spoke in a hoarse whisper, squinting from the door as his eyes adjusted to the kitchen lights.
“shit, sorry. did i wake you?” you said, half a brownie in your mouth. despite your guilt, you couldn’t help letting your eyes admire zoro’s bare torso as he made his way over to you. his pants hung painfully low on his hips.
the swordsman shook his head, averting his eyes as he replied. “had a bad dream.”
“what about?” you wrapped your legs around him, pulling him a little closer to you and zoro rested his hands on your hips.
“doesn’t matter.” there was something in the way his grip tightened around you that made you question his sincerity, but before you could say anything else, zoro reworded his earlier question. “why weren’t you in bed?”
it was you, then, who averted her eyes. “it…doesn’t matter,” you whispered, partially to tease him but mostly to keep him from worrying. “i couldn’t sleep.”
“and sweets were your solution?” zoro raised an eyebrow. you shrugged, taking a cupcake and putting some of its frosting on his nose. “i needed a walk. and besides, i didn’t want to risk waking you.”
“i wouldn’t have minded.”
“i know.” you leaned forward, slowly licking the chocolate frosting from his nose. you hadn’t meant for it to be a sensual act, but it made your body feel hot nonetheless. before you could move back, zoro pushed his lips against your own, enveloping you in a kiss that clouded all of your senses. you wrapped your arms around the swordsman, running your fingers through his hair as you pulled away — an act that felt different than you remembered.
his hair had gotten longer, you reminded yourself. of course that would make a difference, but had it really been so long since you’d last run your fingers through it that the act would feel foreign?
you tried to ignore the thought, pressing your lips to zoro’s once more for another, softer kiss. at least, he’ll never stop tasting like sake.
“i missed that.” the words left your lips before you recognized what they implied: you couldn’t remember the last time you and zoro had kissed like this. there were the half-asleep goodnight kisses and soft, short-lived kisses on the deck when either of you disembarked, but that was all. and somehow, you hadn’t realized it until then.
if the swordsman had heard your words, he showed no sign of it, his eyes fixed on your upper arm.
“what’s this?” he traced his thumb over a scar on your skin.
“oh. that’s nothing. i was helping sanji in the kitchen a couple weeks ago and he sort of, accidentally grazed my arm with a knife,” you explained, but zoro’s eyes still stared at the fading scar. “it sounds worse than it really was, i promise,” you added, placing your hand on his chin as you turned his eyes toward you.
as insignificant as the scar was, you could see the same unease in zoro’s eyes that you’d felt as you brushed your fingers through his hair.
“...weeks ago.” he repeated, shutting his eyes, his eyebrows furrowed. but you weren’t going to let him dwell on the thought. pressing your lips to his again, you slipped your tongue into his mouth and let your hands roam his body. you felt the curves of his arms, the familiar scar across his chest, the outline of his abs. his own hands moved slowly along the sides of your body, slipping under your shirt to meet the softness of your skin.
regardless of time, your bodies still knew one another; your hands still knew where to touch each other without need for thought. you still moved in perfect sync with one another. the subtlest touch from zoro’s fingers could still light a fire within you.
“zoro…” you pulled back — or at least, attempted to, your body aching to be pressed against his. “lock the door.”
you spoke between kisses, breathless as zoro pulled you closer, refusing to let you pull away. his movements were almost uncharacteristically relentless and possessive. though it wasn’t difficult to imagine why.
“what for?” zoro traced his lips slowly along your jaw, leaving kisses down your neck and along your collarbone; you could feel him smirking against your skin. the swordsman had never been one to fear getting caught in the act with you. on the contrary, there were times you were certain he aimed to make sure the whole ship knew what you were up to.
“roronoa zoro.” you forced yourself to pull away from his touch, crossing your arms as you glared at him.
“alright.”
a smile tugged at your lips as the swordsman walked to the door, without any rush — you couldn’t complain, loving to admire the curves of his bare back. roronoa zoro was a man sculpted by the very gods; there was not a doubt in your mind about it.
you reached for the cupcake beside you, not taking your eyes off the swordsman as you dragged your finger along its side, meeting zoro’s eyes as you brought it to your lips. slowly, you licked the frosting from your fingertip before gently sucking. “want some?” you asked innocently as zoro returned to stand between your legs.
he took the cake from your hand and set it aside, leaning into you, his breath warm against your neck as he pressed his lips just below your ear, the spot he knew always made your breath hitch. “i’m craving something else…”
if you’d felt a heat rushing through your body before, now you were burning up. zoro pushed up the fabric of your shirt, eyeing you with greed as he waited for you to take it off. the swordsman wasted no time in pressing his mouth to your breast as he pressed you back against the cold countertop. his hand traveled lower, ever grateful that you slept only in panties and an oversized shirt as he slipped aside the fabric of your undergarments, fingers slowly dragging along your intimacy.
with a devilish grin, zoro pulled back, giving his fingers a swift lick. “so good.” he said with a smirk, his low, gruff voice sending shivers through your body. “have a taste,” he brought his fingers to your lips, kneading your breast with one hand as you obediently sucked on his fingers.
“fuck. i can’t ever get enough of you.” his arms moved to wrap around your thighs, leaving you exposed for him to feast on you however he pleased. he started slow, pressing his tongue along your drenched labia, relishing in the taste of you — but you knew better than to get comfortable with this pace. the drunker he got off of you, the more remorseless he could be.
you felt him groan against you, the feeling momentarily making you forget how to breathe; you could feel him smirking against you before burying his face deeper against you, spelling a storm around your clit with his tongue.
you couldn’t help but gasp at the sensation, curling your toes and biting your lip as you fought to stifle your moans, knowing it would be in vain soon enough.
and you were right. nothing could quiet your sweet moans, the soft utterances of zoro’s name falling incessantly from your lips as he slipped two fingers into you. all proper thoughts left your mind as you indulged in the pleasure rushing through your body.
“f-fuck, zoro. amor—” one hand reached below, slipping your fingers through zoro’s hair as you massaged your breast with the other. “don’t stop. i’m c-close.”
a slew of incoherencies escaped your lips as a wave of pleasure went through your body, zoro’s fingers not ceasing their movements as he moved to press his lips against yours, his free hand bringing you forward, pressing your body up against his.
when he pulled away, you were beyond breathless, clasping your legs shut. you rested your hands on either side of his face, kissing him over and over again. “fuck. i love you. let me suck your cock, please.” you pleaded, licking your lips, wanting nothing more than to get on your knees and wrap your lips around him. you wanted to struggle to take him in, to feel his hand on your head guiding you, and most of all to have him fill your throat with his hot cum.
“sorry, babe,” you watched as he stepped out of his sweatpants, the sight of his hard cock making your mouth water. zoro didn’t waste time dragging it along your dripping cunt, evoking a soft moan from your lips, your pussy still beyond sensitive. he shut his eyes in pleasure as he pressed his cock against you, just against your entrance. you whimpered at the feeling. “i need something a little different.”
“fuck me,” you said slowly, leaning your body back against the counter. “please, zoro.”
the swordsman didn’t waste a second fulfilling your request. he stuffed you full, all at once before you could think twice about it. his pace was rough, only fueled by your loud whines. “z-zoro-” your back arched forward in bliss, your hands grasping for something to hold. in all of your mess, you’d completely forgotten about the sweets beside you until your arm knocked them off the side of the counter accidentally. but zoro’s merciless thrusts made it hard to think about anything other than his thick cock buried inside you.
“too much, zoro, i can’t,” you whimpered, feeling another orgasm building inside you. but zoro only quickened his pace, his hands gripping your hips, holding you firmly in place as a second wave of pleasure unraveled within you.
feeling your cum around his length, dripping out of you, zoro didn’t halt his thrusts. instead, the lewd sounds of bodies connecting and his skin against yours kept him going. your arms wrapped around him in agonizing pleasure, your nails digging into his back as you felt another coil building inside you. tears swelled in your eyes as you moaned zoro’s name over and over.
“hold on a little longer, sweet thing.” zoro pressed his lips to your forehead and you held your breath as you obediently fought back your release. you were notorious for being the only crew member who could tell roronoa zoro what to do, but in bed it was you who was weak to his commands.
as his pace became messier, movements slopier, his hands gripping your hips tighter, zoro shut his eyes before uttering an assertive, “cum.”
with that one word you let go, feeling his seed fill you with each continuous thrust as your own juices did. his thrusts slowed and your body clenched around him as he released every last drop into you.
“sanji’s going to kill us.” you whispered, breathing heavy. there was no way you’d be able to clean up this mess. you wouldn’t be able to walk to the door in this state.
zoro chuckled, kissing you slowly, his hand gently cupping your cheek. “i needed this.”
his words were quiet, vulnerable. his eyes avoided yours, focusing instead on your intertwined hands. “i know. so did i.”
“you wanna tell me why you really came down here?” zoro’s eyes shifted only slightly higher; they stilled on the scar on your arm.
“you wanna tell me about your bad dream?”
his eyes met yours then, with a playful glare. “i asked first.” you stared into them, looking for something, anything, that might give you an answer. something that might ease your fears.
what could you say to him? that you couldn’t stand sleeping in his arms anymore, that there was a glaring distance between you two that you couldn’t bear to ignore any longer? what could you say that wouldn’t ruin the night for you both.
you opened and shut your mouth several times, unable to find the right words, not quite aware of the tears forming in your eyes.
“shit. don’t cry,” zoro instinctively moved to hug you, pressing you close to him as he wiped the tears from your cheek, resting his chin on your head. “i’m sorry. you don’t have to say anything.”
he was quiet for a moment, but you could tell that, like you, he was looking for the right words to say. and for the courage to say them.
“i lost you.” you stayed still in his arms, holding your breath as he spoke, his voice only a whisper. “i dreamt that i’d lost you. that you’d left and it’d been because of me.
“when i woke up and you weren’t beside me, i…”
“i feel like i miss you all of the time,” zoro sighed; you couldn’t be more grateful that his sudden show of vulnerability had had him voice the words you couldn’t say.
you pulled back, slowly, looking up at the swordsman whose eyes were shut tight. you knew better than anyone that zoro hated to be vulnerable, that confessing his nightmares was worse to him than any wound. you knew that if he was telling you any of this, it was because he needed to.
“i’m right here.” you placed your hands on either side of his face, a gentle smile on your lips as his eyes opened to meet yours. “all yours, zoro. if i try to stand it’ll prove that.” zoro’s eyes gleamed with pride at those words. “and you’re not getting rid of me easily,” you whispered these words against his lips before kissing him softly.
“thought i was the one comforting you.” the swordsman raised a brow, but you could see the faintest of blushes flush his cheeks.
“i love you, roronoa zoro.”
the words took zoro by surprise, but he didn’t hesitate to return the sentiment, leaning in to kiss you again. “i love you, y/n.”
“ i’m tired of missing you. let’s take the day off tomorrow,” you said between kisses.
“and the day after,” zoro suggested, pulling away only to slip back into his sweatpants and toss you your shirt.
“and the rest of the week.” meeting your lips, he stood between your thighs again, lifting you with his hands on your ass. “zoro, wait. we can’t leave the kitchen like this.”
the swordsman rolled his eyes, though promising to get up and clean your mess before the cook could notice. “c’mon let’s go to bed.
“and if you’re still up for a midnight snack, i’ve got something you were begging to have a taste of earlier…”

I Wish You Would
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing. Bradley 'Rooster' Bradshaw x afab!reader
word count. 3.3k
warnings. ANGST!!
author's note. this is for @laracrofted 1989 writing challenge. my song was I Wish You Would. and a special thanks goes out to @withahappyrefrain, @bobfloydsbabe, and @rae-gar-targaryen for letting me use your OC's as the bride and wedding dates for the daggers in this fic. well, here is some angsty angst for you all. also, the venue i'm writing about is a real place called The Farmhouse Siloam, and this is the dress I wrote the reader in.
Tumblr media
The invitation had arrived earlier that year. It didn’t shock you that Jake was actually getting married, but having something tangible telling you was a little odd. Danica and Jake started off on an interesting foot. The way Jake had talked about her in secret wouldn’t have made it obvious, but once you all met Danica everything about the relationship made sense. She was the exact kind of woman that drove Jake crazy, in a good way. That’s one thing you and Bradley had always agreed on. That Hangman would hang the stars for his Venus, something you found out Bradley would have trouble doing for you.
The relationship hadn’t been terrible, honestly, it was the best relationship you had ever had. One that you thought about regularly, even though you continually told everyone you were over it. So, when Jake and Danica gave you the heads up that they were also inviting Bradley, you gave them questioning looks. Why would that even matter? It was their wedding anyways, they could invite whoever they wanted. It’s not like that final not was still something you thought about daily. But how would they had known that? They couldn’t have when you always told them the opposite.
Neither of you were bad people, but that night would have told anyone the opposite. Both of your words were laced with venom, neither one of you knowing how to convey your thoughts properly. It wasn’t like either of you, but things had gotten out of hand quick. One thing lead to another, escalating past the point of control.
An uneven breath passed your lips while you looked in the mirror. The dress you had picked was something simple. A two strap summery dress with a bustier built in. It was covered in a muted pastel floral print. Cielo and Abby had helped you pick it out. You bought it with the thought of being able to wear it again, and not to draw the attention of anyone specific.
Even though you and Bradley ended on poor terms, you still yearned for him. Almost two years later and you still wished for something. But you weren’t just hoping and wishing for him to reach out to you, you were also wishing you could have changed things. Wished you would have never hung up on him. Wished that maybe you wouldn’t have said the things you did. Wished that you would have swallowed your pride and reached out. Too many wishes, but it was all in the past and you couldn’t change it now.
All you could do now was face the day. Face the fact that you would be seeing him again. Face the emotions that were going to resurface.
You did a small twirl, calming your nerves in the process. If anything you could hide with Mickey, Cielo, Abby, Bob, and Reuben if things became too much. Or at least just Cielo and Abby. No matter what, you would survive. Ignoring the sensation tightening in your chest, you moved to the bathroom to finish your makeup.
-
Bradley stared at himself in the dressing room mirror, ignoring all of those who were fluttering around him. He had known about this day for a long time. Hell, he knew when Jake decided he was going to propose. Jake had immediately sent him and Javy a picture of the ring. Eager. That was all Bradley had thought about it. Bradley had a slightly pessimistic view on love now.
After his last relationship, he took a break from love. It was too painful, the only thing in the world that could hurt everyone. Even those whose walls were so high, heart so guarded. Those like Bradley.
Love had been the most damaging thing in Bradley’s life. The love for his father? Heart breaking. The love for his mother? Life altering. The love he had once felt for Maverick? Trust breaking. The love he had for you? World crumbling. It wasn’t worth it anymore in his mind. He had tried it multiple times, each time ending in pain.
The pain he had felt with you had been different though. It was a shared one, a pain he could tell that you were also experiencing. It wasn’t like when his dad just never returned home, or when his mom took her final breath in the hospital, or when Mav set him back. All of that had been one sided, him being the only one being hurt. But when he saw the tears roll down your cheeks, the way your chest heaved with each breath. That finally click he heard when you hung up. The ache in his chest as he stared at the phone, deciding not to call you back.
Yeah, you had been the one to hang up, but Bradley had been the one who did nothing. He didn’t do anything in that moment except let you slip through his fingers, like sand in an hour glass. He regretted it to this day. Knowing he should have at least reached out but didn’t. It was one of the biggest mistakes of his life. He finally popped his collar up then ran the tie for his suit around it.
He hadn’t been this dressed up, outside of his Navy regalia, in a long time. The last time he remembered was for your cousins wedding. A smile drifted to his lips, but only a small one, as he recalled the way you had tied his tie for him. Your face was so calm and focused, threading the material through the knot and tightening it up for him. His own hands followed the same pattern that yours once did. He was never able to capture it completely, but he always preferred how you had tied his ties.
“Crazy, huh?” Javy said while grabbing Bradley’s shoulder and pulling him close.
“That’s one word for it,” Bradley let out a little chuckle.
The two of them sat there for a moment, silence over taking them. Javy's bright smile faded a little when he met Bradley’s gaze in the mirror. Javy wasn’t oblivious to what today meant for Bradley, Jake neither. Jake had told Bradley immediately when Danica sent out invitations. Bradley was happy you would be there, seeing the union of two amazing friends. But he couldn’t ignore the anxiety festering in his chest.
“If you need anything, just ask man.”
“Thanks.”
-
Throughout the entire ceremony you had fought the urge to throw up. Which now lead to you in the bathroom, waiting for your nausea to calm down. It was the worst symptom of anxiety you got, that and the tightness in your chest. You didn’t think that seeing Bradley would do this to you. You had been preparing and hyping yourself up all morning, only for him to crack it all with one look. A look he didn’t even return.
You moved to the sink, looking at yourself in the mirror. That’s when you noticed something that you didn’t catch prior. Well, you had ‘caught’ it, but didn’t realize the full extent of your choice in lipstick. It was Bradley’s favorite shade. It was a soft neutral, one you wore cause it went with everything. Bradley had loved it because, “It just makes you glow”, or at least that was what he had told you. Your fingertips almost brushed your lips, but you stopped yourself and simple smiled.
The reception was gorgeous, the entire thing had been gorgeous. It was an outdoor venue, a boho-esque farm house that had been transitioned into a wedding venue. People were swarming everywhere, waiting to the newly weds and wedding party to show up for things to officially start. You made your way up the steps of the outdoor pavilion, looking around only to find familiar faces staring back at you. Danica and Jake had been kind enough to put all their good friends at the same table. Bob and Mickey both noticed you at the same time, alerting everyone else at the table of your presence.
“Look who finally decided to show up,” Reuben said as he stood to pull your chair out for you.
“As if I wouldn’t miss this,” you replied while sitting down.
“That’s right, can’t stay away from us,” Mickey said with a big grin.
The night had moved fast. Dinner had been an event, Javy making his way over to your guys table to greet everyone. Jake and Danica eventually came over too, only after making sure to say hello to all the extended family, which Mickey was claiming you all were a part of. You, Cielo, Abby, and Natasha had talked about the struggles of finding the perfect guest dresses. Bob chiming in to say that you all looked phenomenal, only to turn red when you all complimented him back while Abby pressed a kiss to his cheek. The only person that was missing from your group was Bradley.
Your anxiety about the situation had subsided when the wedding party walked in. Bradley had actually looked at you, even gave you a small smile. The butterflies you had felt weren’t brand new, but they weren’t something you had felt in a long time. They were a regular thing Bradley used to give you, no matter how comfortable you had become with him. Butterflies on your one year anniversary, two year, and even three year.
Your gazes didn’t stop meeting throughout the entirety of dinner. He calmly sat at the wedding party table, disappearing at some point. The thought about finding him had crossed your mind, but you decided to stay seated, a small amount of anxiety winning that battle. It was a good thing though, the first dance starting only a few minutes after you made the decision.
All of you sat there mesmerized by the gorgeous couple dancing. They looked so seamless together, making your heart swell with fondness for the both of them. After the first dance was the dances they had with their parents. Danica with her father, Jake with his mother. All of it, everything was making something inside of you sad. Not for the people around you, but for the fact that you could have had this.
The night continued though. About forty-five minutes had passed since the music and dancing had started. You were sitting at your assigned table while sipping your wine. It had been your second glass. Even though you wanted to get really drunk, you decided not to. It wasn’t the time nor place, and seeing Bradley didn’t fully constitute it. But there was a still a part of you, one that was becoming a little overwhelming, was yearning for him.
A slow song had started to play, many people dispersing from the dance floor. It wasn’t the first slow song and it wouldn’t be that last. During the first slow song, Reuben had asked if you wanted to dance at one point after seeing the saddened look on your face. You had politely declined though, and Reuben confirmed that he understood. The two of you instead had sat at the table and watched all the varying couples on the floor. Jake and Danica, Javy and Natasha, Bob and Abby, Mickey and Cielo. The first time you didn’t take notice to Bradley’s presence, trying to ignore the silent plea inside of you.
Your heart was screaming at you, telling you to just walk over. It was wishing that you would simply go up and talk to him. Wishing that he would come talk to you. Wishing for so much that would probably never happen.
But this time you did notice his presence.
That’s because he wasn’t there, completely absent from the pavilion.
-
The day was going better than Bradley had anticipated.
So what if his chest was filled to the brim with regret and anxiety. He could get over that. What he couldn’t get over was how beautiful everything was. The venue looked like something from out of a movie, Danica truly looked like Venus, and it was perfect. Including you. Before he even walked down the dirt path they called the aisle, his eyes were locked on you.
How could they not be?
After countless days and nights he had spent with you. The very image of you was seared into his soul, being able to immediately pick you out before even seeing your face. You looked as beautiful as ever. It made his heart race, now being faced with the reality that he was only a mere twenty feet away from you. So, he made sure not to make eye contact throughout the entire ceremony. It was harder than he thought it would be. All he wanted to do was look at you, but he forced himself not to.
That was until the reception started. When he walked up the steps of the pavilion his heart was hammering. The DJ announced his name and he walked through, eyes finally meeting yours. It was brief, but it was enough to make his mind spin. He immediately noticed the color of your lips. It was his color, the one he had always loved on you. The one that made you look radiant, complimenting you in all the best ways. It had always grabbed his attention. It wasn’t an extravagant color, but you made it extravagant.
And you continued to keep his attention all night. His eyes followed you, adverting away fast enough for you not to notice when you looked his direction. It was borderline painful watching you with all of his friends. They were your friends too, but the two of you hadn’t been around all of them at the same time in forever. Not actual forever, but that’s what it felt like to Bradley. More like a lifetime.
All he kept thinking was about how foolish he had been. Wishing all over again that he would have done just something. Called you back, sent a text, or simply just not disappear out of your life. But at the time he thought that was the best thing. Only after did he realize how dumb he actually had been. He had to leave the pavilion for a moment, getting fresh air to relieve himself. He returned only a few minutes later.
Then when Jake and Danica started the first dance he started to feel sick. If he would have been better, that could have been the two of you. He could have seen you in one of those gorgeous white gowns. All he saw when he pictured it was you as an ethereal being. This all had to be karma, finally coming around to bite him in the ass. And it didn’t stop either. Watching everyone take their partner, arms wrapped lovingly around them.
Watching how Bob softly moved a stray strand of hair from Abby’s face. The bright smile that Mickey brought to Cielo. Even the way Natasha was laughing at Javy's dumb jokes. He wished that he could have been like that with you. Whisking you around the floor, whispering in your ear about how lucky he was to have you. But it was simply a wish, nothing more.
So Bradley left.
He didn’t want to sit with the regret and pain anymore. The memories of how foolish he had been to let you slip through his hands. He made his way out of the pavilion, dress shoes hitting the grass quickly as he walked a little bit away from the pavilion. Warm deep breaths filled his lungs as he stared out at the sky. Hues of orange and pink were starting to blend in with the clouds.
Not even a minute later did he hear someone coming down the pavilion steps. He waited for a moment, hoping he would hear the steps hit the stone path, but they didn’t. The small sound of shifting grass was creeping closer to him, making hm let out a sigh. He was whole heartedly expecting to see Javy, maybe even Nat in tow. But when he turned around he was much more surprised.
-
“Hi,” you said barely above a whisper.
“I.. Hi,” Bradley greeted back.
The two of you stood there for a moment, staring at one another. Bradley’s eyes had brightened, a soft smile pulling at his lips. Which you mimicked, offering your own small smile at him. Neither of you knew exactly what to say. It didn’t feel awkward, but it wasn’t one hundred percent comfortable either. You looked up, seeing the gorgeous colors of the sky. Bradley looked up to see a little more pink had settled in the sky.
“It’s beautiful,” you said.
“It really is,” Bradley replied.
There were a few beats of silence before you spoke again.
“I hope I’m not disturbing you,” you didn’t look at him, keeping your gaze towards the sky.
Bradley looked at you though, wondering why you would ask that question. You had never bothered him ever, he just sucked at showing how much he cared about you. Sucked so much he couldn’t even properly show it to you.
“You never have,” Bradley decided it was a now or never thing.
You looked at him, raising an eyebrow to act like you had no idea what he was implying. A breathy half laugh passed your lips as you stared at him now. You waited for a moment, hoping he might retract it or something. That never came though, so you dropped the slightly confused expression from your face.
“Bradley, I didn’t mean it like that,” your smile was gone now.
Bradley nodded, “I know, but there was a lot I wanted to say and never did.”
Those bubbles of anxiety were floating back into your chest, threatening to pop at any moment. But there were things that you had never said either. It was now or never, say your peace or forever hold it.
“There’s a lot I never said either,” you started to fiddle with your hands, a nervous habit you had always had.
“First, I want to say I’m sorry, genuinely,” Bradley’s eyes were sincere as he spoke, “you didn’t deserve anything that happened or that I said. I was stupid then, the emotionally capacity of a peanut.” You both let out a chuckle after that one. “And I don’t expect everything to be magically okay, but I just wanted to apologize and say”, he paused briefly, “that I miss you.”
It felt like your heart had broken into two. Everything you had ever seen in the media was telling you to ditch him, tell him to fuck off. But you couldn’t, because you completely understood what he was saying. You felt the exact same way. Ever since he left it was like you were missing something, double checking every time you left your apartment.
“Bradley, I’m miss you too,” you grabbed his hand as you spoke.
His hand encapsulated yours. The warmth was something familiar yet distant. He had always ran a bit warmer than you, something you had always appreciated. A soft smile appeared on his face once more. He rubbed his thumb lightly on the back of your hand. Neither of you were sure how much time had truly passed since you found him, but another slow song started to play in the distance. Bradley let out a small huff that caught your attention.
“What?” You asked.
“I just… I’ve been meaning to ask you all night,” Bradley started, “would you like to dance?”
“Yeah, I think I’d like that.”
The two of you stayed there in the grass. Bradley kept you close to him, hands resting on your waist. You rested your head on his chest while your arms where wrapped around his neck. It was peaceful, anxiety melting off the both of you. It wasn’t completely perfect, but it was something the both of you had wished for.

As it turns out, you can’t just go back to being friends. When you wake in the morning you still feel sick, and your first thought is to wonder if Yunho does too. Maybe Mingi feels the same, but was better at hiding it. Maybe you’ll get to the studio and they’ll take you in their arms like a movie and kiss the breath out of you and hold you close and tell you they should have never, ever driven you home. But you doubt it.
You’ve been in love before, and you’ve had crushes before that. You’re no stranger to getting tangled up in emotional webs, it’s just usually not with people you work with and it’s usually so much easier to walk away. Or run, as you’re used to doing. This body, this designation, this biology, it makes everything always feel so confusing and artificial. Do you want them or does your omega? Do you need them or is it just the after effects of heat?
It’s a lot easier when you lie to yourself.
You’ve been dealing with this biology all your life. That’s all this is, and after a little time and a little distance, your body will catch up to your mind and stop feeling this way about them.
You take those aching feelings and lock them away tightly and then you get up. You shower, you take a deep breath, and then you buy yourself the fanciest coffee you can think of despite the absolute lack of funds in your checking account. This momentary serotonin will be worth the overdraft fee if that’s where it puts you, you need this.
By the time you get to the studio, you’re pretty confident that you’re over them, convincing yourself that it was just fun, good sex. Great sex, even, but still just sex.
But the minute you see Mingi every stitch of the resolve you knit for yourself unravels, and he looks surprised to see you even though it was part of the plan that you’d return today. He leaves the room before you can even open your mouth and try to say something innocuous and you know right then and there you were right all along. It was never going to be that simple.
Yunho blushes when he sees you, his ears turning a dark shade of pink and for a second he trips over his words addressing the wider group.
Mingi avoids your touch when you cross his path at lunch, offering you just a quick hello and then he’s gone again.
Instead of searching for their eyes, you start to get really comfortable with the wood grain of the floor and do your best just to focus on yourself. You’re working on something new, and a week ago you would have stayed late to fine tune your understanding of the choreography with Mingi while he waited on Yunho to wrap up in the back office, but you know those days are gone.
When practice ends they disappear, and you’re left to pack up by yourself. You give it a few minutes, thinking maybe when the rest of the crew trickles out maybe they’ll come to you, but they don’t. So much for being adults about this. You blink back hazy tears as you pull on your jacket, focused on packing up as fast as you can now just to get the hell out of this room.
You don’t even hear him coming up behind you.
“Come on,” Wooyoung says with a roll of his eyes, “we’re going for drinks.”
“I really should get home,” You glance over at him as you finish packing up your bag.
“I’m buying,” Wooyoung counters, “so you really have no excuse.”
What you really want is to go home and bury yourself under the covers for the foreseeable future. Every awkward second glance with Yunho was making you want to curl into a ball and every moment Mingi spent pretending he barely knew you made you want to go home and cry. An entire day filled with almost sentences and troublesome glances and all you can tell yourself is that you knew it, you were right all along.
You don’t answer Wooyoung, and instead you just can’t help yourself, you look behind you towards the back office, but neither of the men you want to see are there.
“Are you really so afraid of making friends you’re turning down free drinks?” Wooyoung prods your side, “That’s really fucking lame of you,”
“Wooyoung,” You sigh, your head dropping back.
“It’s fine,” He says, his voice lilting up in a sing-song, “I thought you were cool,”
Your jaw tightens.
“And I’m not usually wrong,” He goes on, “but it’s fine, I’m man enough to admit when I’m wrong, and you, y/n, are lame.”
“Fine!” You snap up and meet his eyes, “Fine, I’ll come, but just one drink.”
“Excellent,” He smiles, and you’re starting to get the sense that Wooyoung doesn’t really take no for an answer ever.
“One drink,” You repeat.
“Yeah,” He shrugs off, “come on, get your stuff, we’re meeting San at 1987.”
“Where?”
“Bar,” He brushes off your question without really answering, “let’s go,”
Wooyoung turns on his heel without a second thought, and he’s off. You have to jog to keep up with him to get out of the building, and he’s mostly quiet until you hit the evening street outside. He slows to a casual pace and turns his head to you when he says, “You like San, right?”
The question catches you off guard, “Of course,”
Wooyoung smiles, “He’s definitely all business at work, most of the time, but don’t worry.”
“Why would I worry?” Your brow furrows, every interaction you’ve had with San so far has been perfectly pleasant, albeit professional.
“I just mean he’s fun,” Wooyoung corrects himself, “he’s just really serious about the work,”
“You’re all kind of like that,” You point out, “mostly,”
“Right,” Wooyoung nods, winding his way through an alley and you divert off the main street to follow him as he leads you through the back way to their regular spot.
“He takes training really seriously,” You offer, “but I think that’s good. We could all hurt ourselves if we weren’t following his plans,”
Wooyoung grins, “Oh, he’s going to like the sound of that.”
“Yeah?”
“Mhm,” Wooyoung lays a hand softly between your shoulder blades to direct you through a small crowd, “follow that up with how handsome he is and you’ll get special treatment forever.”
You laugh sharply, “Noted.”
He points ahead, “Just up there,”
At the far end of the alley is a hanging neon sign, the ‘7’ in ‘1987’ flickering intermittently. It’s not as flashy as some of the other bars or restaurants along the street you’re walking, but that looks to be part of the charm. As you make your way up to the door and inside, Wooyoung is quick to greet a few people on the sidewalk, throw a wave to the bartender, and he throws around names and details to you faster than you can pick up on them.
San waits at a table in the far corner, two light, wheat beers already waiting on the table. When he glances up from his phone and sees you both his eyes widen but he smiles pleasantly.
“Hey!” He smiles, standing and pulling a chair out for you, “I didn’t realize you were coming, I would have ordered you something,”
“I’m not crashing plans, am I? Woo didn’t say,” You glance between them.
“Not at all,” San shakes his head, gesturing for you to sit, “you’re more than welcome. Seonghwa should be coming too at some point,”
“Oh,” Your stomach does a little nervous flip flop.
“Chill,” Wooyoung interrupts your thoughts immediately, “have a drink, make some friends.”
You smile, taking your seat and letting San push it in for you so you’re settled at the table before he returns to his own place, gesturing for the server’s attention, “What’s your drink?” he asks you.
“Whatever you’re having is good,” You make it simple.
San smiles and points to their glasses before holding up a finger and silently communicating to the server that they need one more. He’s more relaxed than you’ve ever seen him, now outside of work full of easy, confident energy.
“Well,” Wooyoung smiles and takes a long sip of his drink, “this is nice,”
“Yeah,” You’re not entirely sure what you’re doing here, but you might as well go with it, “thanks for letting me tag along,”
“Mm,” San’s eyes are trained on the serving staff but he nods, and then stands as your server approaches, meeting them halfway and taking the beer, thanking them profusely for running it out so quickly. When he returns to the table he presents your drink with ease, “There we go,”
“Thank you,” You nod, accepting the cold glass, and now that it’s in your hand you’re grateful to have the drink after the day you’ve had.
The sip is calming, cool and crisp, and you sigh as you swallow, not realizing the way you’re being watched by both men.
Wooyoung’s words nearly knock you sideways, and a tiny piece of you is grateful he waited until you finished sipping your drink, “So, how was your heat?”
You cough anyways though, just the idea that someone would say it so brazenly, and in public, “What?”
“Youngie,” San slaps him with the back of his hand, “you can’t ask her that,”
Wooyoung ignores him, leaning forwards with his elbows on the table now, “The perfume isn’t helping as much as you think,” he says and you blanch, “and I’ve never seen Yunho stare at someone for so long in my life, so,”
He barely met your eyes all day, and your head snaps up, “He was staring?”
His mouth quirks up on one side and San swivels his head towards you. Wooyoung nods, “Like a puppy,”
“Fuck,” You breathe.
Both their eyebrows raise.
“Sorry, sorry,” You lean back in your chair, hiding your face in your hands. So much for a convenient story about them having the flu.
“You can curse,” Wooyoung laughs, “I just didn’t expect you to admit it that fast, I thought I’d have to pry it out of you.”
“Oh, this is so bad,” You groan.
“Why bad?” San asks, “Yunho’s nice,”
You sigh, still hiding your face.
“He’s easily one of the best guys I know,” San continues, “and there’s nothing that says we can’t date within the company, we’re not idols,”
“Oh god,” You groan again.
“Is it so bad he has a crush on you?” San asks.
Wooyoung breaks into hysterics and your hands fall away, a blank, open expression on San’s face as he tries to pick up on the joke. You wince, shaking your head, “It’s worse than that,”
“Worse,” San repeats, still slow on the uptake.
“Woo,” You find his eyes with yours, “please don’t make me say it.”
He sobers quickly, and takes a swig of his beer, “Right,” he faces San, “Yunho had the flu, but it wasn’t really the flu. They were heat partners.”
“Oh,” San says, “oh,”
“Exactly,” You sigh.
There’s a beat and then San’s brow screws up in confusion, “Didn’t Mingi have the flu too?”
Heat tints your cheeks pink instantaneously and you look down at your glass, suddenly focused on the tiny bursting bubbles at the top of your beer. You brace yourself for their reaction.
“Holy shit,” Wooyoung breathes, “y/n, you’re a god,”
“What?” Your head snaps up.
“Both of them?” Wooyoung shakes his head, “Tell me everything,”
“You don’t have to do that,” San interrupts him again, smacking the back of his arm, “he’s needlessly curious, but you know, you don’t have to share if you don’t,”
The words flood out of you, a small piece of you thankful that you don’t have to hold this whole thing inside yourself forever, “I went into heat at the studio,”
“What?” Wooyoung’s face softens, and you know that he understands just what that means. The anxiety, the fear, all of it.
“This is embarrassing,” You sigh.
“Then you don’t have to,” San tries again, wanting badly to save you from any further humiliation or pressure.
You ignore him and hold Wooyoung’s eyes, “Friends, right?”
He nods.
You swallow hard and then take the leap, “I can’t afford my suppressants right now,” you start and his eyes soften more, “I thought I had rationed them right, but after the recording it hit me like a truck.”
“I knew you seemed off,” Wooyoung says softly, “then what?”
“Mingi found me in the locker room, and then he got Yunho, and they made sure I got out of there okay,” You lean back, crossing your arms and biting the inside of your lip.
“Sharing your heat was unplanned?” Wooyoung clarifies.
“Yes,”
“And it was,” He searches for the right words, “I mean… were they okay? Everything was okay?”
You know what he’s asking without asking, and you nod, “Completely, it was more than okay, they were…”
“They’re both good guys,” San says, “it’s good they were there.”
“Yeah,” You breathe, before snapping yourself out of own head and reaching for your beer again, “anyways, yes, so they took me back to their place and now it’s four, five days later and everything’s so fucking awkward,”
“Hmm,” Wooyoung murmurs, “and it was good?”
You nod, lips pressed tight together in a line.
“Oh, it was too good,” Wooyoung grimaces, “yikes.”
“Right,” You sigh, “and Yunho and Mingi both made it pretty clear that this was a one-time casual sex thing, which is fine, but also you know how heat goes. Everything is all jumbled up now,”
“Mm,” Wooyoung nods, and then his eyes shift to above your head and he grins, “Hwa, right here!”
Park Seonghwa appears a moment later, a warm smile on his angular face and he pushes a lock of dark black hair behind his ear as he finds an open seat and slides into the table, “Hey,” he greets, and then turns to you, “hi, y/n, nice to see you outside the studio,”
“You too,” You smile.
San once again repeats his process for getting Seonghwa a drink, and your stomach tightens as you think about what Wooyoung might say in front of this man you barely know.
“It looks like I interrupted something,” Seonghwa says a few moments later when everything is still quiet and hanging still.
Wooyoung doesn’t say it, he just holds your gaze intently and raises an eyebrow as if to say - Can I?
You sigh, catching Seonghwa off guard, and then you nod.
“y/n just got back from heat leave,” Wooyoung turns to Seonghwa to explain, “with Yunho and Mingi.”
You expect a sheepish or embarrassed reaction, someone quick to divert the conversation away from sex, but it turns out you don’t know Seonghwa as well as you thought. He merely makes a noise of acknowledgement and glances to you, “How messy are things, then? They were both being weird today,”
“I don’t know,” You answer honestly with a sigh.
“They said they wanted it to be a one-time thing,” Wooyoung says, “but is the problem that you like them? Or one of them?”
“I can see that,” Seonghwa smiles, “Yunho kind of oozes perfect boyfriend,”
“It’s not that,” You shake your head, words bubbling up as you try to make sense of it, “it probably shouldn’t have happened at all, and I’m new, I don’t want to make anything weird or uncomfortable, but we spent like four days together… it was intense, and now I just feel like I can’t not think about it when I look at them,”
“Intense, good?” Wooyoung quirks a brow, nudging you under the table.
“Woo,” You sigh, “I’ve never felt like that,”
“What do you mean?” He asks softly, the two alphas at the table going silent to watch you both.
“I don’t know what it is about them,” You confess, “but the entire time all they did was make sure I was okay, they were so tender and kind, and when I left I just wanted to go back.”
“Oh,” Wooyoung murmurs, “you’ve got it bad,”
“My hormones are just out of whack,” You shake your head, “you know what it’s like. Have an alpha tell you they want to give you pups enough times and your brain short circuits,”
Seonghwa shifts in his seat and San clears his throat, but Wooyoung just laughs.
“Anyways, yes,” You take another sip of your drink, “I spent my heat with them, had the best sex of my life, and now I’m sitting here with a stomach ache because I don’t know where they are right now. I feel like the universe is playing a trick on me,”
“Wait,” Wooyoung starts to say, but you’re on a roll now, the single beer hitting just a little harder than it should have.
“Working here, with all of you, was my dream. I just think it’s funny that I haven’t even been here for three months and I’ve already managed to fuck it up, because now everytime I look at Yunho all I can hear is me begging him to claim me, which is insanity, pure and complete insanity,”
“Wait,” Wooyoung repeats again, hands up and out trying to get you to slow down, “I thought it was casual heat sex,”
“It was,” You resurface from your own panicked rambling and realize just how shocked the table looks, “what?”
“You asked Yunho to bite you?” Wooyoung asks, and when you nod he says, “and right now, how do you feel?”
“Fine,” You knee-jerk answer, “but, a little anxious I guess?”
“I don’t know how to explain this,” He says, looking to the two alphas for help who both shake their heads.
“Why do I feel like I’m missing something?” You glance between them.
“Okay,” Wooyoung claps his hands together, “listen, I have never asked Sannie to give me pups. I have never asked him to bite me, and I have never, ever, gotten all dizzy and sick when he’s not around.”
“Hey,” San grumbles, “I think she gets it,”
“I don’t,” You manage.
“What you had is a lot more than heat sex,” Wooyoung finally settles on, and your stomach drops.
“Woo,” You shake your head again, “no,”
“I’m serious!” He insists, “How else do you explain it,”
“You’re so dramatic,” You roll your eyes and reach for your drink, but find the glass empty, “it was good, really good, but that’s all it was.”
“He’s not wrong,” Seonghwa interrupts, his deep voice still calm and easy, “sometimes connections are just stronger. Scents match better, you know, everything just clicks. It doesn’t mean Yunho’s your soulmate, but if the pull is there, then there’s something there.”
You ignore the pull and flash him a weak smile, “Not for them.”
“Them,” Seonghwa corrects, “both of them?”
“I know,” You bury your head in your hands again.
“y/n,” San’s hand lays softly on your forearm, “no matter what happened, Yunho and Mingi are both still the guys from a few days ago. They’re still good men who care about you, even if that’s just as a member of the crew or a friend.”
“Can I ask a question?” Seonghwa interrupts.
“Sure,” You sigh, lifting your eyes to his.
“How do you know they don’t want you too?”
The question makes you feel awful, and you catch Wooyoung’s sympathetic look in your peripheral vision and nearly lose your composure, but the truth of it is simple. You clear your throat softly and straighten up, “They said so,”
“Oh,” He nods.
“And I’m not even sure I want them,” You tack on, “I don’t even really know them,”
Silence stretches at the table, and San’s eyes flick from yours to Seonghwa.
“Then let’s get another drink,” Seonghwa finally says, “let’s get your mind off it, and let’s have a good night. I know things are awkward at the studio, but don’t let them be. Just focus on the work and yourself and make some friends, and this whole thing will just be a funny story,”
You nod and sigh, “Okay,”
“Yeah,” Wooyoung offers, “a month from now no one’s going to remember,”
It’s around the third bar when someone brings it up again. You’re several more drinks deep, learning so much about the group dynamics that you can’t get while inside the studio walls. Wooyoung is quick to peel back all the layers for you now that you’re actually out with them and not just pushing it off a little longer for the sake of your wallet.
Leaning across the expanse of the table Seonghwa gets your attention with a drunken tap on your arm and his eyes narrow, “What’s this about you not being able to afford your suppressants?”
“What?” For a second his words don’t compute.
“Your meds, your suppressants,” He gestures, a little beer tipping over the edge of his glass, “why aren’t you on them?”
“I will be soon,” You lean in closer to hear each other over the music, “insurance window,”
“Ah,” He nods, “so what’s your plan next time?”
“Next time?” You turn your head so that his mouth is closer to your ear.
“Next heat,” He clarifies, a little slur in his speech, “while you’re onboarding,”
Your eyebrows shoot up at his words, “I don’t really know, I guess,”
“Mm,” He nods.
“Why?” You scoot your chair closer.
“I’m assuming you don’t want to,” His voice gets swallowed up by Wooyoung shouting something over the music and you shake your head.
“What?” You squint, shifting closer, bracing your hand on the table by his glass to steady yourself.
“Go back to Yunho and Mingi!” He all but shouts, “I’m assuming you don’t want to do that,”
“Fuck no,” You groan, “I’d rather take care of it myself than deal with feeling like this,”
“What about me?” He says and you laugh, but you don’t really know why. He clears his throat and shakes his head, sobering himself just a little, “Seriously,”
“What about you, what?”
He rolls his eyes, “Help with heat, I help Woo, San and I both do,”
“Oh,”
“Only if you need a hand,” He smiles, round eyes shining and kind, “or you know, a knot in this case,”
You clap a hand over your mouth and can’t help but fall apart into giggles, “You’re serious,”
He quirks his eyebrow at you, dropping his drink back onto the table so he can draw an X over his chest with two fingers, crossing his heart.
“What are you doing over there?” Wooyoung interrupts and your head snaps to the side, “Making a blood pact? You’re both trashed,”
“I am not trashed,” You insist, even though you can feel yourself slipping off the chair you’re on inch by inch.
“You’re allowed to be,” Wooyoung pushes a shot of soju towards you, “you’re broke and in love,”
“Wooyoung!” His words strike panic through you, “Seriously, stop that,”
“Alright, alright,” He throws up his hands, “broke and and in lust, whatever,”
San’s lips curl up in a half smile at his friend’s words. His eyes are closed, and he’s swaying a little from side to side, jerking back to center every now and again when his equilibrium feels too sideways. It’s entirely possible Wooyoung is the most sober one here and that thought makes you burst into laughter. San’s eyes fly open at the sound.
“I was offering my services,” Seonghwa cuts in, like he had been thinking about what to say that entire time and finally found the words.
“Your what?” Wooyoung laughs.
“For her next heat,” He explains, waving his hand like it’s simple addition, “my services,”
“Seonghwa,” San shakes his head sharply, “stop.”
“It’s not as if I’m with someone,” Seonghwa replies, holding San’s gaze intently, and for a split second it’s obvious there’s some kind of a backstory behind them all or their friendship or just Seonghwa himself that everyone knows and you don’t, but it isn’t the time to ask.
“Yeah,” San says a little gruffly, blinking hard to shake off the alcohol, “well, this still isn’t the time.”
Wooyoung wraps it up smoothly, “We’re all too drunk for this,”
“Exactly,” You take a moment of solace in the cup of soju.
“I mean it though,” Seonghwa tears his eyes away from San and a hand drops onto your knee, “you’re pretty, I’m pretty, just keep it in mind,”
There’s almost no way he’ll remember this tomorrow, so you let him off the hook with a smile and a hand on the side of his cheek, “Thank you, Hwa,”
“That’s what f-friends are for,” He hiccups lightly, and then you watch his eyes unfocus as the dizziness floods his vision and he drops his head unceremoniously onto your shoulder, “oh, God, I’m drunk,”
“There it is,” Wooyoung grins.
You slip forward as Seonghwa’s weight drops onto you and you brace yourself on the edge of the table, but San swoops in, “Come here, hyung, stop hanging on her,”
“Hmm?” Seonghwa’s eyes look tired when San gets him off you and over his shoulder, “Sannie?”
“Yeah,” San softens, “it’s just me,”
“I think I need to lie down,” Seonghwa murmurs, his head falling onto San’s ready shoulder.
“I know, hyung, I know,” San softens, and then turns to the table, “can we go?”
“Yeah,” Wooyoung stumbles as he gets up but then straightens, tucking himself under Seonghwa’s other arm once he gets his feet under him, “y/n, you good?”
You pull yourself up too, knocking back the final shot of soju so it doesn’t go to waste and pulling on your jacket, “Good,”
In the cool night air outside the bar everything gets dizzier, more watery and hazy, and something in your gut pulls hard. For a brief passing moment you wonder what Yunho and Mingi are doing right now.
San’s saying something and you shake yourself out of your stupor, “What’s that?”
“I said, where do you live?” He lets Wooyoung take more of Seonghwa’s weight as he turns his focus to you.
You give him your address, “I can call an Uber,”
“I live kind of close,” He nods, “let me take you,”
“You really don’t have to,”
“It would make me feel better,” San brushes you off immediately, “we’ve all been drinking, you shouldn’t be alone,”
“What about him?” You nod towards Seonghwa.
“I got him,” Wooyoung assures, “we live in the same building.”
“You sure?” San checks, “We can all go together,”
“It’s the opposite direction,” Wooyoung shakes his head, “and I’m tired, this just makes more sense,”
San nods and then checks on Seonghwa once more, “Make him drink some water, okay?”
“Yep,” Wooyoung salutes, rolls Seonghwa into an Uber, and then they’re gone.
Leaving you and San alone on the sidewalk.
“Let me get a car,” He says, shaking off some of his lingering drunkenness and pulling out his phone.
Of the three men, you talked to San the least. As the night had stretched on, you found yourself sidled up with Seonghwa or talking across the table animatedly with Wooyoung, but San seemed to give you a little space. He was also the one who commented the least on your recent sexual escapades and now standing in the middle of the street with him and him alone, you have no idea what you’ll talk about.
You watch as he types into his phone, lets it search, and then his nose crinkles, “Twenty minutes,”
“Oh,” You push up on your tiptoes to see his screen, “damn,”
He thinks for a minute and then sighs, “You want to walk a bit? I need to sober up a little anyways,”
“Sure,”
“Hungry?” His brows perk up.
“Definitely,” You smile.
“There’s places in our direction,” He waves you on, and you fall into lockstep with him as you wind out of the alley and back into the city streets.
It’s quiet for a moment, and you know one of you has to break the silence, but mercifully he gets there first, “You’re a good dancer, you know,”
“So are you,” You glance up at him, and he smiles.
He’s handsome, especially like this with his cheeks tinged pink with the night of drinking and his hair falling in his eyes. He directs you forward across an intersection and then looks down to keep talking, “You pick little things up really quickly, it’s impressive,”
“I appreciate that,” The alcohol seems to be less pervasive now that you’re out of the loud club and walking some of it off and you sigh, “honestly, I was staying late with Mingi a lot of nights. He was helping me catch up,”
“Ah,” San nods, “that makes sense,”
You keep walking. Normally you can get a conversation going without any problems, but with the alcohol and the late night and the fact that you really don’t know San all that well, you’re tongue tied.
He sighs heavily and looks at you, like he had been weighing whether or not to say something and finally chose to just do it anyway. “Don’t worry about what Seonghwa said,” He manages, “he was drunk, and I’m sure he wouldn’t have wanted to make you uncomfortable.”
“Oh,” Your stomach knots up, “he didn’t,”
“Good,” San nods, looking relieved, “he’s a good man, he’s,” San searches for his words for a moment, “not the type to proposition a coworker, that’s not what,”
“Oh!” It makes sudden sense why San was being so careful, offering to walk you home and trying to keep Seonghwa in check, “No, San, that’s not at all what I thought,”
“It’s not?” His eyebrow quirks up.
“No, I mean,” Your gaze falls away from him, “it probably should be, but I know he meant well. Plus, I know you both help Wooyoung,”
“Well,” San shakes his head, “that’s a little different,”
“Because you’re all men?”
He smiles, a little sheepish, “No, I was going to say because we’re old friends, but I guess there’s that too.”
“Ah,” You turn towards him, “well, really, you shouldn’t worry about me like that. Hwa was just trying to be a good friend, and I’m sure he won’t remember it tomorrow anyways,”
He sighs, relieved this time, “Good, okay,”
“Is that what you were worried about?” You ask.
“Between that and Woo practically interrogating you,” His nose crinkles again, “that part of your life is private, he shouldn’t pry like that.”
“I would have told him to stop,” You shake your head.
“I hope so,” He says, “I wouldn’t want you to feel uncomfortable with us after everything you’re dealing with. We like you in the crew,”
“You do?”
“Definitely,” He twists to meet your eyes, “you have fire. I saw it in the audition tape,”
Blush flushes your cheeks, “Thank you,”
“I’m just being honest,” He smiles.
You smile back.
It gets easier the more and more you walk with San. The alcohol slowly dissipates in both your systems, and after a few more blocks the idea of street food seems even more appealing. He refuses to let you pay and you only protest once, albeit weakly, before he gives you a simple shake of the head and takes care of things without another word.
It’s a thirty minute walk, especially at this meandering pace, but eventually you make it back to your block, and you don’t know what possesses you to turn the conversation back to Yunho and Mingi and everything it means but you do. He’s less shy to discuss it now, especially after enough time getting to know each other and sinking into a conversational rhythm.
By the time you make it to your apartment walkway, your corn dog is half eaten and your previous anxiety about talking to San is gone entirely. You gesture up to your building, “This is me,”
“Nice,” He comments, and then he takes a seat on your stoop and looks up at you, expectant.
“What?” You ask at his expression.
“You weren’t done, come on, tell me the rest,” He leans back against the railing, stretching out his legs.
“Right,” You remember yourself, flopping down onto the step next to him and running a hand through your hair, “where was I?”
“Yunho reminding you of your ex,” San prompts you.
“Ah,” You shake your head, “I mean not really, my ex was an asshole, but… I guess I didn’t know that for a long time. I thought he was nice, I thought he was the right guy.”
“And Yunho’s nice and the right guy?” He smirks.
“No, no,” You wave your hands, “fuck, I’m not making sense with this at all.”
“Can I guess?” San turns his body towards you a little more.
You nod.
“When your heat was over,” San’s expression is almost a little apologetic as he addresses it directly, “did you all agree it was just sex?”
“Yes,”
“And that you could all be adults about it?” He adds.
You nod again.
“And today you were all awkward as hell and avoiding each other?”
“Basically,”
“Listen,” San rests his hand on your knee, “I don’t know what your ex did or didn’t do, but they’re not that guy.”
“I know,” You sigh.
“But I get it,” San interrupts, “it feels like you had this connection and everything was good and now they’re pretending you don’t exist, and how is that different from any other guy?”
He has you there. You manage a nod.
“Well, I don’t know how they feel about you,” He offers, “but I promise you they’re just as embarrassed as you. It’s easy to say you’ll stay friends and that the lines won’t get blurred, but they always, always do.”
You study him for a moment, at the way he’s speaking so genuinely and it dawns on you, “You speak from experience, I’m guessing?”
He looks down and away, nodding before he brings his eyes back up to yours, “Yeah,”
“Woo?” You guess softly.
After an entire night of watching them lean against each other, touch each other, talk amongst themselves in their little bubble, you’re shocked when his mouth turns up into a sad smile and he shakes his head, “No, Woo and I have figured out how to make this whole thing easy,”
“Oh,”
“Wooyoung loves me, but he’s not in love with me.” San clarifies.
“And you?” You ask softly.
“He’s my best friend,” San says confidently, “and I’ll never let him be in pain,”
“But?” You nudge him.
“It was a long time ago,” He shakes his head and for the first time all night you know he’s told you a lie, but you let it pass. He shakes off the momentary lapse and continues, “but I know how you’re feeling.”
“Then how do I make it right?” You ask him.
“Sometimes you can’t,” He says honestly, “sometimes one person just feels so much more than the other, and you try to make it work until you bend so much for them you break.”
“I know what Woo said,” You shake your head, “but I’m not in love with them. I’m not.”
“I trust you,” San nods, “you know yourself better than Youngie.”
“It’s just this thing inside me,” You confess, and maybe it’s the alcohol or the lateness of the hour but you feel safer here on your stoop with him than you have in a long, long time, so you keep confessing. “I wish sometimes so much that I could just be a beta, that I could forget all about this and just know for sure. I’ve… never known anything for real and how am I supposed to trust anything I feel if my body just decides for me.”
He’s quiet for a moment, but then he says, “Being an omega is a beautiful thing,”
“Don’t,” You shake your head sharply, “I’ve heard that one all my life,”
“It is,” He insists, “all of it’s beautiful. Every part and piece of us is, alpha, beta, omega, all of it.”
“San, that’s not,”
“I know what you meant,” San says softly, sliding his hand into yours and giving you a squeeze, “and it would be easier to be a beta, and to not have to wonder every time. Does the person you like feel right because you like them or because something about them is a good biological match?”
“Exactly,”
“Believe me,” He squeezes you again, “I get it.”
Tears prickle in your eyes and you swallow hard to clear them, “Then how do I make this work? How do I go back to the studio and put this behind me?”
“Is that what you want?” He checks, thumb stroking along the back of your hand.
“Yes,” You sigh, “it doesn’t even matter how I feel or don’t feel, I can’t take that risk here,”
“The work is more important,” He finishes for you.
“Yes.”
“Then don’t let them in again,” San says simply, “not like before. Be friends, but keep things professional. Get some distance from this whole thing,”
“I have a feeling this is not the advice Woo would be giving me,” You smile.
“No,” San laughs, “Wooyoung would tell you to open yourself up to the great mystery of being loved or something,”
“And you’re not a romantic,” You smirk.
“No, no,” He shakes his head, “I am, but being a romantic doesn’t mean you have to let people hurt you. I’ve seen Woo get his heart broken a dozen times now, and he keeps trying. He’s the strongest person I know, and I love him for it, but it’s not the only way.”
“So what he said at the bar,” You tuck your unfinished food into the little bag and leave it to the side, “what he said about my heat?”
“I mean,” He shrugs, “y/n, this isn’t your first time. Don’t listen to him,”
“But Seonghwa,” You remember the way Seonghwa agreed, like a scent match was the stars aligning.
“Fuck them both,” San shakes his head, “just because you had a connection with them doesn’t mean they’re the only people you can connect with.”
Your eyes fill with tears again and he shakes his head when he sees your hazy eyes, brushing your jaw softly with his fingers. You swallow hard and sigh, breath hitching in your chest, “You know what’s funny about this?”
“Hmm?” He brushes your jaw again.
“I don’t even want to date right now, I just,” You shrug lightly, “I want to work. I want to have friends. I want to go out and meet people or stay in if I feel like it. I don’t want to sit on the couch pining or walk on eggshells at the studio,”
“y/n,” San steadies you, his voice low and calm, “listen to me, okay?”
“Okay,” You murmur.
“You have work to do, so focus on it. You have friends, including me, and Woo, and Seonghwa, okay? You come out with us… or don’t,” He smiles and squeezes your hand, “and the studio will feel weird for a little while, but trust yourself, it will fade.”
“It will,” You nod, “you’re right,”
He nods, holding your gaze a little longer until he gives you one more squeeze. San shifts back to give you a little space, his hands leaving you and clasping together to hang between his legs. He smiles, “Do you feel any better?”
“Yeah,” You run your hands through your hair and let out a long, tired exhale.
“Sobered up?” He checks.
“Mostly,” You nod, checking your watch, “but it’s so late I’m still going to be feeling it tomorrow,”
“Mm,” He nods, “we aren’t starting until eleven though,”
“True,”
The night is drawing to a close, you can feel it. You don’t really want to be alone with your thoughts again, but you’re also so tired you think you might drop on the spot, so you start to pull away and hope that you’ll be able to fall asleep the minute you hit the pillows.
He pushes himself up to stand and offers you a hand to help you to your feet, “Should I walk you up?”
You shake your head, “I got it,”
“I’ll wait until you get in,” He smiles and nods.
You make it two steps up before you turn back to him, “Thank you, San,” you tell him, “for everything tonight, really,”
He smiles wider, his eyes crinkling up and he nods again, “Don’t thank me, just remember what I said.”
“I will,”
“And y/n,” He calls after you as you start back up the path, “sleep well,”
“You too, Sannie,” You give him one last look before you push open your apartment door and start up the steps. He doesn’t budge, making sure you’re in the door before he pulls out his phone and starts his short walk home.
Coming home this time doesn’t hurt the same.
You hope for more of the same tomorrow.
You hope every day that it fades away, little by little.

I haven't been on this platform in a while, so I apologize as I'm still getting used to it and trying to get more interactive. Otherwise, I just wanted to bite the bullet and get my first writing out on here, it probably could use a little bit more proofreading, but I'm pretty happy with it otherwise. I was heavily inspired by that Enhypen Foreshadow and Taylor Swift Style remix (IYKYK), and played a good bit off of Style for fun. Let me know what you think, and I hope you enjoy (;
Tumblr media
Seungcheol pulled up to your place tonight with no headlights, sending you a text that he arrived and that he was waiting outside in his car. You snuck down the staircase, praying your roommates wouldn’t hear you as you trekked quietly to the front door.
They’d absolutely kill you if they knew you were meeting up with him after you had just spent the last week spiraling over a recent post you saw of him. He was out and about in a club with a group of girls in the class below you. All night, his group of friends and him had been posting belligerent stories of them dancing and drinking with the girls. In the background of one story specifically, he had his arm wrapped around a pretty girl, a gummy smile adorning his face as she leaned over to whisper something in his ear. This had sent you into a week-long spiral, locking yourself in your room only to leave for lectures as necessary and the occasional meal.
However, you had no right to be jealous, and you knew damn well that you didn’t. Seungcheol and you had been best friends for years now, recently becoming friends with benefits the past couple of months after a night of drunken neediness and passion. Both of you had decided to continue the shenanigans since it felt good to let off the steam together, and it just felt so right. Your frequent hangouts becoming much more than the study sessions and casual movie nights. You found yourself becoming addicted to his touch, his scent, his lips; you could go on and on about how he drove you wild in such a different way than before.
You knew you were headed towards rock bottom one night. Your heart fluttered a little faster than normal when he looked softly into your eyes, kissing you with passion as always, hands roaming, and whispering sweet nothings. You thought maybe he felt it too, maybe you should express how you felt, that this was becoming much more than friends with benefits to you. But you were too emotionally constipated to ever say anything and feared the worst. You pushed him away that night, cutting things off abruptly, and escorting him out of your house.
Resultingly, you hadn’t spoken for a month up until now due to how things had ended. It had been a while since either of you had heard from each other, giving you both the space that you needed. However, tonight he had texted you out of the blue, asking what you were doing and if he could come pick you up. You almost jumped out of your bed in giddiness, only for it to die down realizing exactly what he was seeking. Of course, you obliged still, agreeing to meet with him but only on the terms that it had to be on the down low. He knew that your roommates weren’t the biggest fan of him, as they had been his friends too, always encouraging him to speak to you about how he truly felt. He knew he had disappointed them the day after you had kicked him out, your closest roommate eyeing him down as she crossed paths with him on campus.
You shook your head staring at the brief text chain between you and Seungcheol, ashamed of what you two have become. You never thought you’d lose a friend like this, nor that you would ever agree to a midnight booty call in advance. Of course, you were still excited to be reunited with Seungcheol, excitement bubbling in your stomach at the thought of seeing him again. You couldn’t deny that you yearned for his touch, but even more so yearned to hear his laugh again or to be the one to make him smile. You had to hold yourself back from skipping towards the passenger side of his car, trying to remain as indifferent as possible as you opened the door only to see his annoyingly handsome face again.
Seungcheol pulled out of your driveway, turning on his headlights as he drove out of the neighborhood. The air in the car was thick with tension, quiet music playing in the background as you both avoided being the first person to initiate conversation. You kept your attention ahead of you, only focusing on the cars passing by and noting the similar landmarks that you usually passed along the way to Seungcheol’s place. In comparison, Seungcheol couldn’t keep his eyes off you, you felt his gaze shifting towards you every so often, which made you suppress your blush just in case he could see it. If you weren’t being so stubborn, you would have giggled and scolded him to keep his eyes on the road. However, you couldn’t acknowledge the way you felt his eyes burning into you tonight, too scared to spark the conversation first.
Upon arriving at Seungcheol’s place, he quickly turned off the engine and jogged around to open the passenger door for you. You gave him a shy smile to say thank you. His hand gently brushed your lower back as he guided you towards the front door in silence, sending shivers down your spine feeling electrified by his touch. He only took his hand off your back to shuffle in front of you to unlock his front door.
You took advantage of his back facing you, allowing yourself to analyze his figure for the first time tonight. You so badly wanted to run your hands over his broad shoulders or through his thick black hair. It had been slicked back after he kept running a nervous hand through it during the drive, which was something you noticed in addition to his burning eyes. His bright, thick lips were in a pout as he scrambled with his keys.
Seungcheol finally unlocks his front door, holding it open for you and beckoning you to enter before him. The entryway was pitch black; the only light being provided by the moonlight shining through the windows. You both shuffled around in silence, removing your coats and shoes, his hand once again brushing you gently as he reaches for you.
This is when you lost it, shying away from him as your voice betrayed you, letting out what sounded like a whimper, “Don’t you have some other girl to fuck around with now, Seungcheol?”
You can hear him scoff, his hands now grabbing both your arms and slowly leading you back against the wall. “Why do you think that, Y/N?” He’s got you right where he wants you, the soft lighting from the moon illuminating your face so that he can see his effect on you. The light bounces off the wall behind you, allowing you to better see his features as he stares incredulously back at you.
“I s-saw it on Jeonghan’s story, you’ve been hanging out with all those girls lately,” you stutter out and it looks like a lightbulb goes off in his head. You refrain from banging your head back into the wall, feeling incredibly exposed and silly for ever saying anything to your friend. “J-Just thought… thought that maybe you were talking to one of them.”
He lets out a soft laugh, one of the hands that had caged you against the wall wanders up to your cheek to cup it. You try not to lean into his touch, but you can’t help it. His rough thumb caresses your skin so softly that the gentle touch sends heat right down to your core.
“Well, that may be true,” he sighs, and you feel your heart sink a bit. You begin to realize that this is a mistake, squirming to push him away once again. Instead, he shocks you by dipping down to your neck, scattering hot kisses from your ear to your jaw. Hot breath once again tickles your ear, his hands roaming all over your body as you try not to buck your hips into him. “They don’t drive me crazy like you do, I can’t get you out of my mind, Y/N.”
You let out another whimper at his statement, allowing him to continue caressing your body and finally giving in to him. You can feel his smirk pressing into your neck. It’s almost as if he’s trying to feel your pulse through the way he presses his lips against you, relishing in how your heartbeat quickens at his confession as he starts to pepper more kisses along your sensitive spots. You can’t hold back anymore, hands desperately gripping at his shirt as he begins to nip and suck on your neck with new fervor.
Breathing out heavily, you confess, “fuck, Seungcheol, I can’t get you out of my mind either. I missed this, I missed you,” you moan as his teeth graze your jaw, “I missed us.” A confession you hadn’t meant to make, but so be it.
“Same here, baby,” Seungcheol almost growled, this time attaching your lips to his in a heated kiss. You both kissed like you had been starving for one another, his mouth capturing your soft moans and whines with his as you battled for dominance. Your hands made your way to his hair, pulling at the strands as he lets out a groan that has your knees going weak.
Seungcheol notices this, slotting a thigh between your legs as you become needier for his touch. He has you fully pressed up against the wall now, his tongue battling with yours as he lets out soft curses between hot kisses. Your heated core is now pressed up against his thigh, his hands running down your waist to latch onto your hips to help guide you as you grind against him. You moan in relief, his thigh feels so good against your center that you’re almost certain you’ll come undone right then and there.
Your movements get more and more desperate, making Seungcheol’s grasp on your hips a lot firmer than before to forcefully stop your motions. “Why’d you do that, Cheol,” you almost cry out as the high that you’d been chasing slowly ebbed away from your core.
“You don’t get to cum unless I say so,” he spits out as he forcefully grasps your face in one hand. The other hand traveled down to press against your folds through the thin layer of underwear beneath your skirt. The pressure of his hand sent a shock wave of pleasure through you even though you had just been denied an orgasm. “You know what, actually, you don’t get to cum unless you're cumming around my cock.”
Seungcheol lifts you up, throwing you over his shoulder as he carries you to the bedroom. Unceremoniously, he throws you down onto the bed and begins pulling all garments off your body. He litters kisses all over your exposed skin, wasting no time whatsoever as he yanks your bra off and immediately attaches his lips to your nipple. You attempt to fumble with his belt as he pushes you down onto his bed, and he pulls away from you to only pull his shirt off his body. Taking this time as he hovers above you on his knees, he tsks staring down at you in awe, and runs two fingers across your folds, “so beautiful for me, baby. Always so needy for me, look how fucking wet you are just from grinding against my thigh.”
You let out a moan as he sinks both fingers into your seeping core, covering your mouth to absorb your screams into his own. He’s not taking it easy on you as he begins fucking his fingers into you slowly, teasingly, and eventually increases to a brutal pace. He rips your hand away from your mouth, holding it above your head as he continues fingering you, his fingers curling into you and hitting the exact spot that he knows makes you crumble. “Don’t hold back, let me hear you cry out for me.”
You’re breathing heavily as he continues his ministrations, his thumb coming up to rub your clit which earns a scream in between your bated breaths. He feels your walls tightening around his fingers, and he knows your body too well. He can tell by the way your legs threaten to snap shut, using his shoulder to keep them open as he pushes you as close as he can towards the edge. You can feel the pleasure building up again, the pit of arousal in your stomach feeling as if it’s ready to explode as your hips chase the high caused by his fingers.
To your dismay, he pulls out from between your folds, and you’re quick to start begging, “Cheol, pl-please, you were making me feel so good.” He’s quick to shut you up, shoving his fingers right into your mouth.
“Remember what I said, pretty girl?” He hums, keeping his fingers in your mouth as you suck pathetically on them, you nod knowing the exact instructions he gave you earlier. “I said you only get to cum around my cock.”
He pulls his fingers away, messily leaving traces of wetness around your lips, and he can’t help but pull you back in for another heated kiss. He tastes yourself on your lips, and it drives him crazy, grinding his hips right into yours. He finally gives in as you successfully unbuckle his belt this time, helping him shuffle out of his jeans and boxers whilst never letting his lips leave yours. Once his pants are finally off, you reach for his cock, and it already feels hot and heavy in your hand. His size still excited you to this day, his length feeling so big in your tiny hand as you begin to jerk him off using the bit of precum from his tip.
Breathlessly, Seungcheol breaks away from the kiss, lips wandering down your neck to your chest and back to your nipples. He’s groaning against your chest as he sucks on one mound, the other hand coming up to play with the other.
“So big, Cheol, can’t wait for you to fill me up,” you cry out as he sucks extra hard at your nipple, pinching the other one harshly. “It’s all I think about, is you filling me up so good.” Your hand continues to work at his hard length, but he doesn’t allow you to do so for much longer, muttering something about how he won’t last long if you continue touching him like that.
He pulls away to line up with you, his tip teasing your entrance as he looks at you with the softest eyes of the night, “still clean for you, baby, wouldn’t ever think of fucking anyone else but you. Am I crossing a line saying that? All I can think about is fucking you.”
Moaning out, you wrap your legs around him encouraging him, “please, please just do it already.” He slides into you, your warm walls immediately taking him in as if he was made specifically for you. He groans at how tight you feel around him, swearing that he’ll never get sick of how you clench around him every time. You’re both a moaning mess, your nails digging crescent moons into his back as he fills you up completely.
He starts thrusting into you, your legs tightening around him to keep him from teasing you as he pulls his length slowly in and out of you. “So warm and tight, baby. I won’t go anywhere, don’t worry.” His body is now pressed down against yours, your legs pulling him as close as you can as he grinds into you, and his arms next to your head are the only thing holding his full weight from you.
Your legs are already shaking by the time he begins to pick up his pace, the friction of his movement against your clit sending you into madness as he thrusts in and out of you. His lips work at your neck, leaving love bites all along the skin as he whispers curses and dirty words into them.
“Please, fuck me harder,” you begin to cry out, the intense pleasure building up in your core for the final time tonight as your hips start to chase his to pick up the speed, “I can’t take it anymore, Cheol, please just fuck me harder, I need it.”
He’s encouraged by your begging, grabbing your legs and pulling them over his shoulders to get a better angle on you. He doesn’t wait, immediately fucking you harder and faster than before. “Does my little Y/N like that?” He antagonizes between heavy breaths, his pace not faltering as he brings a thumb to your clit. “Who would have thought my best friend was so dirty, such a fucking slut for me, baby.”
“I’m your slut, Cheol, all yours.” You cry out as he keeps up his pace, his cock pounding into you relentlessly as his thumb works at your most sensitive spot. You’re moaning out, tears almost falling from your eyes at the brutal way his hips slam into yours, the pleasure only getting more intense with each thrust.
He knows you’re ready to cum, feeling the way your walls get impossibly tighter around him and at the way your legs begin to shake on his shoulders. You’re crying out at each thrust, only egging him on as he’s starting to reach his end himself.
“Please, let me cum,” you’re screaming, reaching out for his hand that’s working at your clit, the pleasure almost feeling too intense as you try to refrain from cumming without his permission.
Seungcheol continues fucking into you as you beg, keeping the relentless pace until he no longer can hold back himself. “Cum with me, baby,” he’s groaning, as he snaps his hips into yours in such a pleasurable way, you’re immediately milking his cock for all it’s worth. His release follows yours, painting your walls with the white, hot liquid. Yours spasming around him, and he can’t help but give you a few extra leisurely thrusts to work you through your entire orgasm, even if it overstimulates him.
Pulling out of you, he watches as his cum drips from between your folds. It’s a beautiful sight, but not as beautiful as the smile you give him when he finally makes eye contact with you. He curses himself for ever letting you two get this way, curses himself for not fighting you the day you pushed him out of your house, and curses himself for never saying how he truly felt.
Before Seungcheol can utter a word, you’re popping up from the bed and sauntering over to the bathroom to clean up. He takes this time to clean himself up and compose his thoughts. This wasn’t just a booty call for him, he truly did want to reconcile your friendship, or propose even more than that. You truly were all he thought about.
Little does he know, you’re in the bathroom in the same predicament. This night only makes you realize you can’t go much longer without Seungcheol back in your life, even if that means that tonight was the last time you two would ever hook up. You needed to tell him that he can’t play with your heart anymore, that you should either go back to just being friends or figure out what your relationship is.
When you walk out of the bathroom back into his room, you’re both ready to speak your minds as Seungcheol and you begin your sentences.
He lets out a laugh, “go ahead, you first, Y/N.”
You shake your head, signaling that he should go first, “no, no, I’d like to hear what you have to say.” He smiles as you make your way over to him on the bed. He’s laying back on the headboard, his hair messy as he follows your figure with endearing eyes. He’s so cuddly yet fucked out at the same time, that you can’t believe he can look so cute and hot all at once. The temptation to curl up next to him is extremely dangerous, so you keep your distance as you sit down next to him on the bed.
Sighing, Seungcheol finally begins to spill out how hard the past month had been without you in his everyday routine. He rambles on and on as you listen to your best friend turned lover confess his feelings about you. “I truly do think of you, every second of every day, Y/N. I don’t know how it happened, and I don’t know why it took so long for me to realize it. I can’t believe the fact that you kicked me out of your place that one night actually sent me into a downward spiral. I’m sick of us not talking, not going to each other for comfort, and not being friends anymore. However, I’ve realized you are so much more to me than just a friend, and especially more than a friend with benefits. Please, just let me know if I’m making you uncomfortable by confessing all this, I just am going crazy thinking about you all the time-“
You cut him off, rushing across the bed to press your lips to his in a hard kiss. He looks up at you with shock as you pull away, beginning to mutter out another word but you hush him. “Shut up, Cheol. I feel the same way, can’t ever stop thinking about you. I only kicked you out that day since I was so freaked out by my feelings. Clearly, I feel the same way since I almost lost it when seeing you with that girl on Jeonghan’s story last week.”
You both let out a laugh as he pulls you in for another kiss, pulling you into his arms and never letting you go for the night. “Stay with me tonight, Y/N. Stay with me for as long as you'd like.”
“Of course,” you smile up at him, and for the first time, you’re not frightened by the soft look in his eyes. “As long as you take me out on a real date tomorrow.”
There’s the gummy smile that you yearned to see, Seungcheol smiles down at you and promises you all the dates and more for as long as he can. “Believe me, it’s all I can think about, baby.”

Tumblr media
It was well after midnight when Jake arrived at the club’s entrance. The throbbing bass emanating from inside made the whole building shake, making his mind wonder what it would be like to live on top of such an obnoxiously loud place, contrasting with the quietness of the accommodations the Navy offered. The reflection of the neon sign reading  “Mon Ange” turned his natural olive-toned skin into a vivid dark azure that matched perfectly with the baby blue in his eyes. The smokers (all with stamps on their hands) were all gathered some feet away from the door to get back in after dragging a final puff from their cigarettes. The queue was not very long, mainly because everyone who was meant to be there had arrived way earlier than him. He reprimanded himself for getting there so late ; in less than two hours the nightclub would shut its doors and Jake would feel like he wasted four hours of his life for nothing. Well, his journey would not be in vain if he caught a glimpse of-
“Jake”
This was L.A, a city 118 miles away from the Marine Corps Air Station located in Miramar, which is a two-hour long drive away from everything he knows. He had to remind himself of those facts to avoid spiraling  at the sound of his name in such a place; he hated how his body kept reacting to these kinds of situations, but not even a skilled lieutenant like himself could take the reins of these unnamed emotions that coursed through his entire being.
"What are you doing here by the door? I was worrying about you not showing up today, I was just about to send a search party. C'mon , let's grab a drink. Perhaps I can even convince you to dance this time" A wide playful smirk accompanied the flirty comment exquisitely and, even though Jake was more than used to these antics, his heart skipped a beat. Trying to compose himself, he answered while staring at the concrete floor.
"I don't belong on that dance floor and y'know it, darlin' "
“Oh don’t say that, the 30s are the new 20s! … Even if you’re not planning to dance, you must’ve driven all the way over here for something, right?”
The damn question hit him like a truck. He could try to think of the right answer, but putting something into words made it terrifyingly real, and that was exactly what he'd been avoiding for months. The breeze made them both shiver, as the party outfits didn’t properly protect them from the chilly weather.
“You're right” he muttered “Okay, lead the way. Make it worth the while, mh?" he teasingly replied. Even if what he was doing was definitely outside of his comfort zone, something about the constant banter between them calmed him.
"Don't you always have an amazing time with me? I thought that was why you only talk to me" a fake pout appeared on the face which Seresin couldn't help but to stare intensely in awe. Their hands intertwined and the pilot quickly melted into that comforting touch. His companion briefly exchanged some words with the bouncer and the doors opened for them.
"Thankfully it was Joseph working tonight, I don't think Marcus would have let you in for free just like that" “I’m sure you would've charmed him into doing whatever you wanted anyway”
The thick air of the room embraced him as soon as the doors closed and the familiar feeling appeared in the pit of his stomach almost instantly; it seems like it was yesterday when he first stepped into the nightclub he now knows like the back of his hand, but in reality, that day was what it feels like ages ago. Still, the contradictions that manifested within him every time he returned persisted and only grew each day.
“I’ll go to the bar while you stay here and look pretty, okay? Same drink as always?”
It was because of moments like these that Hangman felt comfortable enough to let his guard down and be his usual extroverted self. Grabbing his wrist to stop him from going any further, he raised his voice so his words could be heard even though the music was top volume. “ Don’t you even dare to try to pay for those drinks, they’re on me.”
“Here it is, the Texan charm of Jake Seresin. I didn’t know you could apply those rules to this situation. Are you trying to imply I’m the girl in this whole affair? Shouldn't we at least draw lots for it?”
"Very funny, M/N'' the hostility that emanated from his rolling eyes made the other man realize his comment had affected Jake on a deeper level than intended. “Hey I’m sorry, I know I shouldn’t hav- I know it’s  a touchy subject and I’m extremely sorry, please forgive me” the regret was visible in his expression and it also could be detected in the stuttering caused by the words rushing their way out of his mouth trying to obtain his forgiveness as fast as possible. Jake took a deep breath and closed his eyes for a second.
Hangman was no saint, he didn’t go to church every Sunday or tried to look for a good christian wife to have kids with like his father did in his day. He knew God was not exactly pleased with the way he was running his life but he used to think that when the time came, He would welcome him with open arms (after having apologized profusely, that is). But now that he had fallen for the most vile trick in the book, he couldn't trust that previous statement anymore. Lust was a capital sin, pretty serious if you asked any priest from the church the Seresin family attended back in Texas, but sodomy? Say goodbye to eternal salvation, son. If Jake was being honest, the promise of heaven or the threat of hell didn't scare him. It was the destruction of all the life lessons that made him act the way he acted,  of his purpose as a son, as a man. The thing that truly haunted him at night  was the thought of a deity (and his father)  designing him to be this flawless individual with a very clear life path , only to end up as a filthy, disgusting f-
“Hey, are you okay? Would you like me to leave you alone for a bit?”
The thought of M/N walking away while he sank deeper and deeper in the sea of guilt and fury frightened him. “Please don’t” he begged “everything’s fine, I promise. Let’s down a couple shots and , who knows, maybe I’ll be in the mood to dance for a bit” the last comment was a futile attempt to hide the everlasting agony that clouded his mind. M/N moved so they were a few inches away and raised his hand to caress his cheek. His next step consisted in resting his arms around his shoulders and starting kissing him delicately in the neck and in the whole face in general, in hopes to kiss the discomfort away.
How could something so delicate and sweet be so dirty? Was it even dirty to begin with? What about the women he had dated? He was attracted to them but now he- Too many questions Jake was not willing to answer that night. He only wanted one thing, and he was about to claim it.
After regaining control of himself, Jake put his right hand on the younger male’s back to guide him to the counter where people were piling up fighting to get the barman’s attention. Being as attractive and well-built as he was, he obtained the alcoholic beverages rather quickly. After the last drop of tequila had made its way down their throats, Hangman took control and led him onto the dance floor. His mind was only filled of the smell of M/N’s cologne mixed with his natural scent enhanced by their bodies crashing against each other while swaying to the 2000s pop remixes, his eyes fixed on his partner’s hypnotizing movements and his hands focused on feeling what they can reach, testing if they can go further in their journey through M/N’s body. Jake was simply standing close and moving according to the song's beat but in a subtle way, just like he would do at the locals he frequented with his coworkers ; manly enough to keep his dignity intact but provocative enough to awake that lustful hunger in the other person’s soul.
‘Mon Ange’ had finally closed down and the two men were still all over each other on the angelino streets. The tingle settling in his chest could only be compared with the adrenaline rush he had previously experienced on those wild nights spent in college, the farewell by the porch of the first girl he had taken on a date or the night out after his first deployment; if he closed his eyes he could swear he was 20 again, but reality made sure to remind him of those fifteen more years that had passed.
M/N had this juvenile thing about him, Jake couldn’t guess confidently his age from afar and his curiosity was finally satiated after befriending him and asking him about it directly ; he was 27, even though he looked some years younger. His bold character combined with his kindness and humor made M/N resemble a butterfly flying around collecting the pollen from every flower in the garden and making it seem effortless. That was one of the many things that hooked Jake on him as if he were the most addicting drug out there, making him throw away his plan of not getting attached and limiting this experience with sporadic hookups that would end then and there, never with the same person twice. That was the problem, he appeared and started moving his hips to some song, making the whole room turn around him and ever since then (even if Jake was still in denial), he was a goner.
The next thing he knew, he was laying down on M/N’s bed, a king size mattress close to a very big window that allowed him to take in the beautiful sight of the sleeping city. He had only been to the apartment twice, but he had always  left before the sun had made its appearance in the sky, moved by remorse and skepticism. This time though, he had stayed the whole night that was filled with passionate sex and heart to heart conversations and finally some cuddling that lured him to rest for a while. Now he was wide awake, sitting against the headboard, resting his eyes on the sunrise and on the slumbering figure facing him. He looked so calm, so peaceful. In that moment, turning his gaze away, he tried to repress a sob that came with a single tear falling through his left cheek.
M/N had always known he was queer, embracing his bisexuality in childhood. Jake had never had any problems with people who were not straight, even if the people around him growing up did, but everything was different when it came to himself. For fuck’s sake, he was closer to being 40 than from his teenage years, what was he doing? He could only paralyze at the idea of anyone seeing what he was doing. It was definitely too late for him. Risking his life everyday up in the sky felt like a minor burden compared to the endurance of the dilemmas he carried with him everywhere, just like Christ had carried the cross all the way to Calvary.
He could feel himself falling for the person right next to him, and that was the worst thing that had ever happened to Lieutenant Jacob Seresin. His calloused hand cupped M/N’s soft face, making the other man lean in closer in search of that delightful warmth. Jake’s lips burned in desperate need to say something out loud. His heart started palpitating at a dangerous speed, as he knew the thing trying to escape from his mind was a cruel thing to say and that he was a horrible being just by thinking that. It was no one’s fault and it had no solution, yet the idea popped up in his mind like an unwanted ad appearing on your phone. His chest ached at the possibility of M/N hearing the words, so he tried to whisper as quietly as it was humanly possible.
“I wish you were a girl”
