I had kind of forgotten that Klavier dubbed him 'Herr Forehead' while they were arguing in court about exactly how some other guy got shot dead in the forehead... It's not even about the size of his forehead, it's just the first thing Apollo was nitpicky about. His nickname could have been anything if it was the first thing to annoy Klavier about him. This is a nickname born out of 'I can't believe the little shit who got my brother put away is seriously arguing about whether this guy was shot 2 inches to the left as if that makes a difference, seriously, how did him behind the defense bench end up with my brother going to jail, what the fuck' or whatever. And then it did make a difference. But I lost my original point, what I'm trying to say is the nickname is ten times funnier than when you realize it was made by Apollo just trying to do his uphill battle of a job and Klavier decides to be petty in the middle of a court room and not just a jab at his relatively average but slightly large forehead.

Look, I love klapollo, we know this. But I don't know how you could ever convince Apollo to take Klavier seriously. The first thing Klavier does when he meets Apollo is immediately flirt, and the first thing he does once he knows who he is, is call him a 'little boy' who put his brother away (they are literally 2 years apart). Then that whole first part of the case he is just throwing insults. Really tears him apart. He still calls him Herr Forehead to this day! But he's also called him cool which is nice, but I think if anyone ever told me they 'liked my swagger' I think I would get a restraining order.

POV: You are Apollo and the pettiest man alive is trying to imply that he wants you carnally, but he also might be playing 5D chess to make fun of you for some arbitrary thing you said or did as he has numerous times before, but also you have witnessed this man being the dorkiest person alive and you're not sure how this fact might affect your perception of the situation.

POV: You are Klavier and the man of your dreams is staring you down like a witness who's actually a killer as you profess your undying love for him and it's a little unnerving and really ruining the vibe but the second you show nervousness he skitters off like a half starved feral cat, but you can't be normal about it bc you're an artist and also you are so deeply in love with him that being mellow seems disingenuous.

The answer is obviously open communication, but this is Ace Attorney and that's more illegal than murder. You gotta subtext a little harder, boys.

hi!! so this isn't actually the case as while gourdy was briefly mentioned in a trial, said trial had nothing to do with whether or not gourdy was "real" per se as much as. well. murder, actually. while gourdy WAS found out to be an inflatable steel samurai this was not brought up in the case at all as the veracity of gourdy wasn't really as relevant as the fact that the witness was looking for gourdy rather than at the murder she claimed to have seen. plus this was also a relatively small part of a MUCH larger trial which for those interested not only solved the dl-6 case but ALSO marked the end of prosecutor von karma's ~40 year long record and the court records are really a fascinating read through!!
