Jujutsu Kaisen/JJK - Parenting Headcanons

(i wrote this fast please dont mind the grammar....)

Kento Nanami (w/ Itadori-chan)

Itadori is his adoptive son

he makes fancy lunchs for yuji filled with veggies he cant stand BUT coming home with leftovers is assuring him a serment from Nanami.

Talking about lunches, Itadori loves the large 1-foot sandwiches the blonde man makes for him. At school, he loves to share half of it with Juunpei (when his friend doesn't have lunch or just for fun.)

Itadori always begs Megumi to make his dogs eat his leftovers veggies regardless of how much the black-haired boy tells him why it will not work. Nobara force feeds all Yuji's leftovers back to him (she thinks it's hilarious) because everytime he tossed them in trash Nanami somehow found out and pinched his ears into a coma.

Megumi is embarrassed of him whenever they hang out since he is preserving his "broke man habits" especially how obnoxiously Toji eats inhales food. Megumi will never admit it but when it relates to food/table manners he prefers Gojo's conduct in public over his dad's by a millimeter.

Dating Arthur Shelby would be like...

• At first your situation will be confusing, Arthur didn't have many serious relationships so he doesn't know exactly how they work. Someday he'll start to act like your boyfriend but won't stop flirting around until the realisation clicks on his head.

• When Arthur realize he has feelings, he'll back off, what is he meant to do now? Propose? Talk about it? Stop flirting around and let things flow naturally? He's awkward and absolutely refuses to ask advice to his brothers, he's the oldest, he's meant to be the advice-giver.

• Eventually he'll approach the subject, when the Garrison is about to close and only the kin is on the private room. The night is quiet, the conversation goes slowly and he'll offer himself to walk you home, he'll be uncharacteristically quiet, then start to ask about your plans for the future.

• "Soooo, y'know John boy has 4 children? Bastard got married at 16… do you think of getting married someday?" "Yeah, children are hilarious, can you imagine a tiny version of yourself?" • From then on, you'll be always together, Arthur appreciates your presence in his every-day life. When he's making the accountability of the Garrison, working on the betting shop or at the Shelby company, he enjoys having you sitting near him.

• When it comes to other businesses, you're not allowed to be around. Besides being extremely protective, Arthur fears you get a glimpse of his bad side, he wants to give you the best he can be but escaping his violent tendencies is impossible sometimes, so when bad business comes around, you're out.

• His love languages are quality time and acts of service, do you want to meet the new teahouse in the area? Get in the car. There's a new movie in the cinema? People better step out of the way, there's a peaky blinder and his girl coming through. Do you have to pick up a piece of clothing from the sewer? Curious, he'll drive by later and can do it for you.

• Now, the ones Arthur craves the most are touch and words of affirmation. He is dying for a good snuggle and some assurance that deep down he's a good man.

• Moreover, when he's 100% used to you, Arthur no longer knows the concept of privacy, he trusts you won't judge or cause him trouble so he'll tell you whatever the blinders are currently planning. At home, he doesn't bother closing the bathroom's door while showering or taking a wee, you're practically married, what's the harm?

Nikonathan:

"We're going to hell, and it's your fault!" Nathaniel shouts, grasping at the cross as if such a thing could save him now. Nikolai, of course, laughs, arms spread in an almost joy. "As if we weren't going there already, reverend!" "Repentance was always an option-" he grabs the clown and snarls in his face- "but now, now-" Nikolai's returned grasp is gentle on his face, a soft caress that startles him more than the violence they've been surrounded by. "Now, reverend, we are free."

Lemon Futon:

Kajii cannot help but laugh, even if it makes his ribs hurt. "Well! That was a complete and utter disaster!" There's shuffling behind him, and a blurry shape- ah, Katai, of course- looks down at him with a sigh. "Oh, I told you that would happen," he laments, voice ringing slightly. "Are you happy with yourself?" "Mostly, yes!" Kajii chirps. "Though, I might feel be more happy with myself if you'd kiss it better-" Katai splutters, and smacks him with a pillow.

"What is this?" Shibusawa can't help but to whisper, but to stare in shock at the man in front of him. The man who was supposed to be fighting his own hyperintelligence now, who was supposed to be begging for his life against his own ability, suffocating in the fog- -except the fog dispersed, leaving him sitting in his chair just the same as before, legs still casually crossed and grin still smug. "Oh, isn't it obvious?" Ranpo Edogawa asks with a laugh, sticking out his tongue- and Shibusawa finds himself stepping back. "I tricked you!"

Hi Herb!! I was wondering if you had any advice on opening commissions? I enjoy your art immensely and you were one of the first people I thought of to ask since I know you do commissions on occasion

Sorry if this is totally weird, I am just at a complete loss! Thanks for taking the time to read this!

These are things I wish I had figured out when I started selling art commissions. Also, feel free to use my current commission form to pattern your own. (also if anyone >.> wants to commission me, I am open <.<)

Step 1: Write a Terms of Service

Good terms of service will manage the expectations of your clients, establish a level of professionalism, and protect you if someone tries to argue something already made clear in writing. You can keep your ToS really simple, but it's good practice to include the following:

What kind of art you will/won't do (I don't do nfts)

Estimated duration of the project (2-4 weeks is my M.O.)

Number of revisions (more than 3, I add a fee)

When and how often you will update the client

Rights that you retain as an artist/permit to the client

Note: This mainly applies to personal/non-commercial work. If you are approached to make art for a game/magazine/website, do a ton more research. You will need to write out a contract that makes things Boringly Clear, and you will want to retain all of your rights as an artist.

Step 2: PRICES (scream)

Everyone starts out underselling. I'm underselling (I'm trying to get better.) Just go at your own pace. Look at what other artists are offering, but don't just look at the quality of their work. Think about your turnaround time, your style, and your target audience. If you are a fast worker or very detailed, that's worth a pay bump. Niche communities will pay solid money for artists to cater to them. So for example, if you draw fetish art, you have more room to charge higher.

ALWAYS GET PAYMENT UP FRONT. You can offer half upfront and half upon completion. If it's a big or long-term project, it's okay to go 30/70. BUT NEVER START WORK WITHOUT SOME SORT OF COMPENSATION. I just had a client that has not paid me the 2nd half and they are blacklisted. This rarely happens but it does happen.

Once you think you've got a price chart you feel comfortable with, add $20. Do it, even if it feels wrong. You may have to pay transaction fees, or the work (often) takes longer than expected. It'll be a small mercy to yourself to account for these things. Raise your prices a little bit each year because you are growing in experience and inflation (scream) is a thing that affects the arts too.

Step 3: INTEGRATE AND AUTOMATE

I wish I had done this step years ago, but I slacked off, and therefore staying organized was a nightmare. The less "business" stuff you have to do manually, the more time you can focus on "creative" stuff.

Make a google form. Make it as easy for the client to input information as possible. In the settings, set it so that responses will go to an excel file. The questions you ask will be the titles of the fields, so keep them short and easy to read. Reference image attachments will save to google drive.

You can set it up so that you will get an email whenever you get a new response (you might want to make a separate email account specifically for commissions.) Prewrite confirmation responses and save them as templates so that you're not writing the same email to clients over and over again.

Set reminders for responding to clients, requesting payment, and finishing work. This can be through google calender or some other app. You are responsible for facilitating communication. Even if the email is just, "Hey, just letting you know the work is still in progress, I will send you a wip in 1-2 days." Client assurance is high priority.

I use paypal invoice for payments. It means I have to pay a transaction fee, but I factor that into my prices. It also ensures that I have clear documentation for orders, I can send reminders easily if I haven't been paid, and it just looks more professional overall. You can use whatever service feels most comfortable, just make sure you practice good bookkeeping (*stares at my taxes in horror*)

Step 4: Mockups and Descriptions

Provide examples of the work that you are going to. Make a mockup of busts/half body/full body, etc. Don't include anything you don't intend to actually produce.

Make sure that your form includes room to answer EVERY question about the commission that you might have. This will reduce the amount of back and forth you need to have with your client. You want to be able to get that request, confirm it, send that invoice, and jump on it ASAP.

Step 5: Start small, be honest, be firm

If you haven't done commissions before, have a limited number of slots available. Take break time after you've finished a certain amount. Don't languish over an art piece. At some point, it will be as done as it can be. Send it to the client, and keep rolling.

If you feel like you are getting overwhelmed, tell your client. It's bad practice to go on hiatus and not notify them while they're waiting on an update. If you genuinely forget to touch base with them, do so as soon as possible. Apologize, then finish the work as soon as you can. Refund if you think that's the most polite route, but completing the task is usually more appreciated.

Be cordial, but firm. People will try to bully you over little things, but don't give in. Ignore folks who say your prices are too high. Make it clear that if they ask for more than what is agreed, you will charge a fee. If you feel like a request is sketchy, get a second opinion.

The next little gift is a deleted segment between Glaishur, Hornacle, and Loodvigg. This was a short vent I wrote out after I silly little incident with my step dad. This was set somewhere between parts 3 and 4, I believe. My partner actually made art referencing this writing a while ago, which will be presented at the end :>

Glaishur and Hornacle were the last monsters awake. Hornacle was always the hardest to get to bed. Apart from Galvana, that is. It wasn't that he was stubborn - he never threw fits. He was just hard to catch.

Luckily, the water monster was easy to bargain with. He didn't want any kind of sweets or special gifts; he just wanted to share his love of drawing and doodles with someone. Glaishur was happy to fill this role, having set up the table prior to the castles usual resting time with the little monster by his side to assure he didn't forget anything.

The many little monsters have since gone to be, so it seemed to just be the two of them. Glaishur took his seat at the end of the table with Hornacle sitting to his right, each scribbling up a page and offering the other compliments on their artistic renditions of the world around them. Hornacle began making the outlines of certain objects or scenes, then passing the paper to the cold monster beside them to finish the pice with colors or new additions. It went from a simple collaborative piece to a sort of game, challenging the other monster to finish as many drawings as possible before they just couldn't keep up.

"You're gonna make me break my fingers!" Glaishur joked. Although his fingers were very much intact, the same couldn't be said for the crumbled wax crayons around him. He wasn't all too sure where these crayons came from or how they were made, but the quality was questionable.

Hornacle laughed his little head off, seeming to have achieved their goal of nightly chaos. Glaishur was quick to hush him, reminding of the sleeping monsters.

"How 'bout we do a couple more than head off t' snooze, yeah?"

The deal was made. A few more sheets of recycled paper were found and drawn on, each monster making their final works of the night their best. Glaishur found himself lost in the possibilities of creation. He had many ideas, and it was hard to choose just one for the night. He finally began to sketch out his plan; a portrait of Hornacle. To the best of his abilities, that is. He had become so lost in the process that he didn't notice the creaking of the stairs. He didn't hear the tapping approaching the table.

"Having fun?" A cool voice spoke.

Glaishur felt his fur stand the second he heard it. He faced forward, unwilling to let his eyes make contact with the shadowy monster nearby. Poor Hornacle could only keep their head down.

"Yeah," the cold monster answered shakily.

"I couldn't help but notice that the dishes have been left undone. Or how the kitchen remains a mess."

Loodvigg circled the table, lifting one of the many drawings that had been completed not long ago.

"You seem to have plenty of time on your hands."

"I.. I forgot," Glaishur stuttered. "I can do them after-"

"You didn't forget," Loodvigg spat, tossing the paper aside, "you chose not to! You're the only monster in this castle who is just incapable of finishing the most simplistic tasks. Do you just not care for the well-being of everyone else, or do you find amusement in dropping your responsibilities on everyone else?"

"I forgot-"

"You did not!"

Hornacle hopped from the table, running out of the kitchen and down the hallway. The sound of their bedroom door slamming shut seemed to be enough to alert another monster. Soon, Glaishur was no longer alone with Loodvigg, now assisted by Furnoss.

"That's enough," the fire elementalist would say. "I don't need you to defend me."

"You never put your foot down," Loodvigg would respond. "You let him get away with this, who knows what else he'd do?"

"He just forgot, Lood. Galvana forgets all the time!"

All of their arguing, right next to Glaishur as if he weren't there. He certainly didn't like himself being compared to a toddler, even less so with them being the troublemaker. Furnoss soon dragged Loodvigg back up the stairs, leaving the kitchen in silence. Now, on his own, the cold monster stood up to do the same task he would have done with nothing more than a simple reminder.

During his chore, he reunited with Hornacle. The little monster displayed their final art piece of the night.

Fuck the FDA, seriously

It's just super awesome how the system for getting ADHD meds 100% assumes you don't have ADHD and are therefore capable of laborious multi-step processes to access your meds.

Vyvanse got a generic version in August 2023. However, there's a shortage of that and other ADHD medications. When my prescription was renewed in December, my insurance informed me they would only pay for the generic. Okay. But then Walgreens informed me that they didn't have the generic in stock. But don't worry, they assured me, they'd order it! Fast-forward to three months later and I still don't have meds.

Of course, the recommendation for this situation is to call around to other pharmacies to ask if they have it in stock and then ask my doctor to send the prescription there. This would be annoying but doable, so long as the medication wasn't needed to treat an executive function disorder. Because, uh, doing what's recommended requires a hell of a lot of executive functioning.

I've been without meds for months and in all that time I've been unable to remember and/or follow through on: 1) Looking up the list of pharmacies in network, 2) Looking up each pharmacy's phone number, 3) Calling each pharmacy to ask if they have generic Vyvanse (while dealing with the added anxiety of knowing that many will probably treat me like an addict drug-seeker for doing so), 4) Contacting my doctor to ask that he resubmit the prescription to a different pharmacy (which has gone over like a lead balloon in the past because, again, they assume I'm an addict drug-seeker).

Of course, I have to hope the doctor submits the prescription in a timely manner (past interactions have taught me that won't happen) so that the prescription can be filled while the pharmacy still has it in stock. And apparently I may have to do this process every month because the FDA won't approve an increase in production of ADHD meds, so shortages are likely to continue.

Because I'm unmedicated, I'm using all my energy and effort to stay on top of things at work. This means my personal life falls into disarray because I don't have the mental energy to allocate to it or the ability to focus after trying so hard at work. To add insult to injury, all the effort I'm directing at work is only partially successful. It's infuriating to know that I should be able to access a safe and effective medication that treats this disability and vastly improves my quality of life, but the FDA thinks the continued shortages are acceptable, I guess. 🫠

What is Robert Pattinsons "Little Pillow"?

And, most importantly, how did Robert Pattinson attempt to monetize it?

In the midst of lock-down, when nobody (including celebrities) had anything to do, Robert Pattinson was stranded with nothing but three t-shirts and access to a little corner store. He was supposed to be temporarily staying in a London flat during the filming of Batman, which he starred in (as Batman). Yet in the wake of COVID-19 closures across the globe, he had been stranded with little food other than what the producers would send him according to his regulated Batman diet. Attempting to make productive use of his time, Pattinson decided to try a business concept he had come up with the prior year. He had recognized a gap in the market for fast-food pasta, and says that he “...was trying to figure out how to capitalize in this area of the market, and [he] was trying to think: How do you make a pasta which you can hold in your hand?” Let's not speculate on if this question should ever be answered, or the grammar in which it was asked. Because Pattinson attempted to answer it, and I think we can agree it would have been better off left as a concept rather than a tangible object.

(Italian for "Little Pillow")

According to GQ, at the start of his entrepreneurship journey, "he went so far as to design a prototype that involved the use of a panini press, and then... set up a meeting with Los Angeles restaurant royalty Lele Massimini." This meeting had little success, and Massimini was, thankfully, unimpressed.

Back in 2019, my dad had an idea to create brownie-ice-cream popsicles. He created a ton of prototype batches, much to the enjoyment of my brother and I. His idea was, I can assure you, much tastier and a much more viable concept. So how come he never got a meeting with Los Angeles restaurant royalty? Because he never played the sparkly, blood-lusted love interest in a teen film.

When you have the sort of stardom that comes from helping create over 300 million dollars in profit, you have a lot working for you. You have an insurance to these types of connections. Fortunately, for the good of society, these connections don't ensure a product launch.

Pattinsons unsuccessful meeting in 2019 did, sadly, not deter him from further cuisine pursuits in 2020. In May of 2020, he recreated this pasta phenomenon in his interview with QC magazine. After reading the instructions for creating one of these Picconolo Cuscino dishes, I'm sure you'll agree the world is left much better without it.

Do not try this at home.

Ingredients:

breadcrumbs or cornflakes

pre-sliced cheese

tomato sauce

pasta

half a burger bun

sugar

Other items:

lighter

aluminum foil

microwave

latex gloves

Directions:

Put on gloves (it's about to get messy)

2. Cover pasta with water in a bowl and microwave for 8 minutes.

3. While cooking, create a bowl-shape out of aluminum foil, and cover with crushed up cornflakes or breadcrumbs.

4. Cover with sugar.

5. Place cheese slices on top

Allegedly, Pattinson used nine packs of cheese for this.

6. and then cover with more sugar.

7. Cover with tomato sauce.

8. When pasta is finished microwaving, dump it on top of your creation.

At this point, Pattinson says there is "...absolutely no chance this is gonna work. Absolutely none,” But keep going anyways.

9. Pour more sugar on top of the pasta.

10. Hollow out your half of the burger bun, and place it on top.

Before this next step, take off your latex gloves. Pattinson didn't, and it did not go well.

11. Take your lighter and burn a fun design onto the top for aesthetic quality points.

Robert says “I’m just gonna do the initials.…” meaning P.C., for Piccolini Cuscino. The interviewer, Zach Baron, at GQ, says "at this point, he accidentally ignites one of his latex gloves, which promptly melts onto his palm." So take extra caution. This part could hurts

12. Wrap your pasta concoction in more aluminum foil, creating a type of ball.

13. Place the pasta ball in the microwave for ten minutes.

Baking of day

Hello ! For those who are interested, I made a Foccacia with sourdough and yeast (in my own way) today. And guess what ?

I share with you the process

Above all, I work with old wheat flour, and the flour I used today is wholemeal flour. (I can assure you that it works, prove 👇👇)

To get started, you will need the following ingredients : - Flour (500g) - Salt (9g) - Whole grain mustard (50g) - Yeast (preferably a quality fresh yeast) (25 g) - Fermented dough (prepared the day before) (100g) - Sourdough (refreshed the day before) (sourdough can also be an option) (100g) - Potato flakes (45g) - Rice flakes (60g) - Millet flakes (20g) - Olive oil (125g) - And of course water (500g)

here : potato flakes, rice flakes and millet flakes in the same container, sourdough and fresh yeast Step 1 : Pour your water first into the tank. Then the flour, then... other ingredients, except olive oil ! (Save the olive oil for later)

Then, start the kneading, (five minutes on the timer) Step 2 : Take a clean bin.

And spread olive oil with faond and on the edges

Practical advice : don’t forget to watch your mix. Because according to the temperature and humidity of the room, but also flour. You can also have small surprises, like me today :

You see ? The dough did not mix well. But it doesn’t matter, peel the dough with a horn (yes, that’s what we call it), and put it back in the mix. (if the five minutes have already passed, add three minutes)

Step 3 : Take your 125g of olive oil and pour it during kneading (do not put all at once, allow time for the dough to drink the oil)

P.A : If at the end of kneading, the dough seems too soft, almost liquid, add a little flour. Step 4 : Put your mixed dough in the oiled bin

Then, you will make flaps (so fold the dough on itself)

Well, there I show you the process with one hand (and I can assure you that it is not easy... 😬)

Step 5 : Protect the dough by covering it with a plasticized film. Like here👇

Then, let it rest for 30 minutes at room temperature. And what can you do in the meantime ? Well : dishes, friends ! Go, go, go ! After 30 minutes, if the dough seems too soft, redo a flap. Then let the dough rest for 60 minutes.

Step 6 : After all this waiting time, take a cooking hob, lay a sheet of baking paper, then... oil it (Not too much, otherwise it will no longer be a sheet of baking paper, but a sheet of wallpaper to stick to the wall.) (Don’t do that either.)

After, spread the dough on the cooking hob. Then, cover it with a plasticized film. After that, you’ll let it swell for an hour and a half. (It will not swell much, do not expect to see a pillow on the cooking hob)

Step 7 : (I hope you have not thrown away or put away the olive oil, because you will still need it.) Preheat your oven to 250 degrees. In a small container, pour a little olive oil, and dip your fingertips into it to make small holes in the dough, as you see here.

The filling can be according to your preferences, for my part, I put ratatouille, mozarella, eggs (because not enough mozarella), black olives and herbs (oregano and thyme).

Then put your foccacia in the oven, then lower the temperature to 240 degrees. Cooking time varies depending on the oven, but usually cooking is 17 to 20 minutes. And voilà !

Yu-Gi-Oh! OC Week Day 4 - Relationships

The work week is almost over. Send caffeine. I cobbled this together after a failed attempt to nap after work so uh. No promises on quality. Tried to display some relationships she has with characters other than her husband, namely the royal family.

Day Four - Relationships Word Count: 928 Characters: Sanura, T'Kai, Teana, Atem Rating: G

“Up or down?”

“Up, please. The children are going through clingy phases.”

Sanura hummed in sympathy and grabbed a leather string from the pile near her hip. Her fingers ached from the work of the last few hours. Braiding was a labor of love that she performed for very select people. The repetitive motions and stringing the decorative beads into each plait left her sore for the rest of the day. Still, as she gathered the mass of twists into one hand and tied them together she had to admire her handiwork. It was some of her best to date.

“Not too tight?”

“No, it's good,” T'Kai assured her. “Thank you.”

A mid morning breeze rustled the leaves above their heads. There in the courtyard the world was quiet. Mostly. Occasionally a burst of laughter and shouting would shatter the peace as the children raced between the lotus pools. Rami and Minkah were making the best of the day outside, taking turns trying to catch the frogs hiding in the ponds. Their efforts were hampered by not being able to jump into the water themselves but it didn't seem to deter them in the slightest. Atemu watched the older boys with some disdain from where he sat with Teana in the shade provided by the courtyard wall. At three years old he had very strong opinions on being splashed and knew better than to trust his brother where water was involved. Rami had not doused him on purpose, but his habit of getting wrapped up in whatever game he was playing sometimes made him blind to collateral damage. He had gotten his mother soaked earlier as well by running over to show off the one frog they had managed to catch so far, bringing seemingly half the pond water with him.

T'Kai's dress had dried since then. Sanura was silently proud for how calm her friend had been throughout the whole incident. Frogs and T'Kai had not mixed well in the years she had known her. There had been a hint of panic in her voice while she marveled over her son's catch but she had held her composure for the most part. If her friend had not been leaning against her legs Sanura might not have even noticed how close T'Kai came to climbing over her to get away from the offending creature. Swallowing the laugh caused by the dramatic full body sigh T'Kai breathed when Rami ran off to return the frog to its home had hurt. T'Kai still heard the start of it and had given her a pointed look in response. It only made her want to laugh harder.

A fifth round of the game was about to begin when Atem stepped into the courtyard. He made it two full strides before being pounced on by the children. The boys were still too young to understand his importance and the grandeur of his title. To them he was their father – or in Minkah's case, the father of their best friend. Atem had to steady himself before greeting each excited boy in turn, scooping his youngest into his arms as the women got to their feet to come to his rescue. He waved them back. Handling the children was a responsibility he had taken to with surprising quickness once Rami was old enough to not be deemed 'the most fragile thing to ever exist' by his standards.

“Sanura, might I send you on an errand?” he asked after saying hello to his wives.

“Of course, Pharaoh. What do you wish of me?” One brow quirked even as she inclined her head in a respectful bow. Atem rarely asked anything of her but when he did it usually involved her husband or the boys. The grin he flashed her told her that it was about the former.

“According to a certain someone, Mahaad got caught up in his studies this morning and skipped both breakfast and morning refreshments. Would you grab a basket of offerings from the kitchens and make sure he eats? We'll make sure Minkah eats his lunch while you are gone.”

“Oh! Sure. I can do that.” A certain someone, huh? Sanura was not the gambling sort but was willing to bet she knew who the tattle tale was. Mana was not the least bit afraid to leverage Atem against her teacher for his own well being.

“I believe Seth had him cornered in the main library,” Atem added. “I grant you permission to do what you must to achieve success.”

“...right,” she said, already formulating a plan. A quick kiss and reminder to Minkah to be on his best behavior saw her on her way. Freeing her husband from the company of his favorite person in the world and convincing him to eat instead of getting lost in a tome that had caught his interest were no easy tasks. Being given free rein to do as she pleased? Oh, that opened possibilities. Many possibilities.

T'Kai and Teana side eyed their husband as they watched her leave. Atem merely smiled and put his son down as kitchen staff arrived and began to set a table in the courtyard for lunch.

“I think you have given her too much power,” Teana commented while ushering the boys to take their seats.

“You may not get your priest back until the evening meal,” T'Kai added.

“I see no problem with that,” was the Pharaoh's answer, his smile turning into a self satisfied smirk as he plucked a sweet roll from the nearest tray and settled in.

FaOI 2023 Makuhari Day 2 - Impressions

It's kind of what happens when people already know what's happening during the show - the hype dies down, quite a lot. I woke up at 6 a.m. randomly and found out MORE photos from Day 1 were published. Naturally, I wasted no time and saved them - I compiled some of them in the OP2, EX2 and Finale2 posts. Yuzu truly shines when he's in his element, or rather, on his element aka ice-chan ☺(excuse my poor attempt at a pun)

After saving the photos, there was still more than an hour to go before the second day of Fantasy on Ice 2023 began, so I decided to rest my eyes for a bit. I ended up sleeping through 3/4 of the show, so I missed the reports in real time about the 2nd day's opening. I quickly found the relevant posts and there wasn't really much info about it, but one thing that caught my eye - Yuzu, apparently, is acting very cat-like in the OP. I guess we'll have to wait until the live broadcast tomorrow to fully understand what that means or why he's doing it.

This time, the 4T was cleanly landed followed by a high-kick. With that trademark combination ticked, I can finally rest assured that FaOI has truly started and it's not just a fever dream. You'd have thought the photos are enough to confirm the reality of it all.

Once I caught up with the (not so much) info about the opening, I patiently waited for the second half to conclude and find out the shenanigans Yuzu was up to for his EX and Finale. In the meantime, of course the twitter timeline was losing its mind, still, at all the new photos still popping up from Day 1. By the way, seems like Yuzu did a layback spin yesterday in the Finale, but no one really said anything about it. Do excuse the poor quality, unfortunately, no media has made this public, it's a stock photo from Aflo.

There really can't be FaOI if Yuzu doesn't progressively get more daring by the day. Reports quickly started pouring in with the absolutely very important information that, at the end of IF, his new program, he took of the jacket and the audience lost it. I see taking off the jacket is quickly becoming a FaOI tradition. Apparently, Yuzu knows exactly how to serve and keep it interesting. Patiently waiting for the recorded broadcast on 9th July for this gem.

More about IF: I was too excited yesterday that I forgot to talk a bit about the program itself. Some footage was released on the news of what the program looks like. It reminds me of Ashura-chan, but not too much. It's a fast-paced program, it has two 3Lo jumps, and the most baffling detail: IT STARTS WITH A CAMEL SPIN. There's no program EVER that started with a spin - Yuzu keeps revolutionizing figure skating and that says a lot about his nature as a pro athlete.

The one thing I was truly curious about, though, was the finale wacko combination jumps. From the sound of it, there was no such thing yesterday, so I held out hope that maybe today there'd be something, and it was. A 4T3A (step out) - 3T (or 3Lo, depends on who you want to believe - once again, 9th July will reveal all).

Unpopular opinion, maybe, but I find it a bit weird that Yuzu is not nailing the jumps so early in the tour. I mean, we know last year he did perfectly well in the beginning, but as the tour progressed, he got more tired, so the jumps became less perfect. Anyway, with all that Yuzu has accomplished in the past year (wow, almost a year since he turned pro), a wobbled jump on the first day of FaOI and a small error on a combination jump on the 2nd day (after an intense solo program, might I add) it's perfectly alright.

All that matters is that Yuzu is having fun and he keeps surprising us. He said a while ago he feels like he's running out of ideas, but Fanyus seem to have an abundance of them and maybe, just maybe, Yuzu is taking inspiration from them. For example, Henni147 suggested in her Challenge4Yuzu thread that he should start a program with a spin - he did 😉

An update regarding inFAMOUS: Erosion

Hey there! Rogue here, and I have something regarding inFAMOUS Erosion that I wish to tell you all about so as not to blindside you.

(Now, stop panicking, first off lol.)

I got married in the height of the pandemic; everyone in my family has autoimmune issues (even my poor cat is asthmatic) and my then-boyfriend at the time and I wanted to cover as many bases as possible, especially since I was pregnant. So our five year plan became a five week one, and we got married. No wedding, no reception, just us on the courthouse steps with a judge (we weren't even allowed in) and then take out after. While neither of us cared about a wedding, we never got to go on a honeymoon, and that was always something we strived for down the line. COVID-19 took so much from so many of us, and my family was no exception.

Well, the parasite that was in my womb is now two years old, the oldest is becoming an adventurous spirit, and we've decided it's time to put that savings account to good use and make this a family affair. We've booked not only two separate trips, but a series of events all throughout July and August so we may 'live it up' in lieu of time and chances missed.

And I plan on going on hiatus while we do so.

I fear I won't be able to keep up with the word count and deliver a quality tale on time, and would rather make sure I don't burn myself out trying to perform on top of everything else we have planned. It's also always healthy to take a break! And I feel I have the perfect midpoint prepared to pause and give you all an 'intermission' of sorts before returning. I know it's always so so scary to hear an author is going on hiatus, because really, that's the preamble to an orphaned fic; so I want to assure you that where I will stop the story before disappearing is 104,404 — and the current fic is at 136k words. There's still passion for the project, and it will probably be worked on in the lull time of my hiatus; but that gap between where I've posted and where I am is closing, and I don't want it to get any closer. And I fear trips and concerts and museums and events and a wild summer is simply the perfect storm to be caught in — and to lose my way in the kicked up dust.

"So then...what does that mean?"

I will be posting up to Chapter Twenty, with a two-chapter 'mid-season finale' as I've been jokingly calling it on the 9th and 10th of July. After that, I will be going on hiatus until September 11th, 2023. Another Monday, per the usual. I am beyond excited for this second half; I finally feel like I can dive into the real meat of the story. Once I hit that midpoint, every piece of foreshadow and worldbuilding is on the table. The big turning point that'll propel the second half of Erosion will be revealed. I'll be moving on from whittling the wood to manipulating the marionette, and you have no idea how hyped I am to really give you the tale I'm trying to spin. The sad thing is, I've still gotta spin it, and I fear I won't be able to dedicate myself as well as I should in order to really give this idea in my head the honor it deserves. And of course, what you deserve too; I'm a freelance editor. If I put anything out there that sucks, I will off myself lol.

"Will you be disappearing too?"

Nah. Probably not. I'm chronically online and legally/medically can't drive, so I gotta do something on the car/plane rides. There are two one shots in my google docs I might push out in the meantime, an art commission planned, and of course, I will always supply memes and share other inFAMOUS pieces that my dear friends are putting out. There's so much newfound chatter in the inFAMOUS fandom that I feel confident I could step back for two months and you wouldn't even miss me! It's truly breathtaking to see this fandom returning like this. If you put things into perspective, while two months seems so goddamn long — that's 4 chapter updates. That's it!! That's all I'm gonna be gone for!!

"What if you finish Erosion while you're gone?"

God, that'd be the day, wouldn't it? I'll definitely freak the fuck out and post nonstop on Tumblr, so if I do, you'll know lol. If by some stroke of a miracle I finish Erosion while I'm gone, I will still be on hiatus until September 11th. I need a goddamn vacation. But upon returning, if I am either done or very close to done, I plan on upping my schedule to a weekly posting system. If not, biweekly until that point.

So, that's my advance warning for you all: I plan on stepping away, but it will not be permanent. I can't disappear from this fandom the moment it's beginning to return! That'd truly be insane!

Tsiikohtaahsi'tsihp amohk aohkanoo'p — which in my tribe's language means I'm so happy we've all gathered here; it's given me a chance to tell a tale I never thought anyone would care about, and to watch the embers of this grand video game franchise be fanned enough to reignite. I love this community and will be itching to return the moment I declare official hiatus status, I just know it.
