You let Ruby win because you don't have the heart to beat a girl who's giving her all against someone who's just barely half-assing it.

Ruby challenge you to a game of card's against Remnant with a twist, if Ruby loses she can't eat any cookies for a damn month! But if you lose then you have to do everything she says. And you decided what the heck, you'll play.

Ruby was team vacuo and you were team Atlas. You were beating her within five turns and you could easily win the game in three turns or less. But, she was trying her hardest and looked like she didn't want to go out without eating a month's worth of cookies, and you were just barely putting any damn effort.

So you threw the match by playing the wrong card on purpose and rolling the dice to give you a bad score and gave Ruby the automatic win.

"HAH! I won! Guess a detective can't win against a cards against Remnant pro!" Ruby exclaimed as she looks at you with a smug look on her face, you rolled your eyes with a sly smirk on your face.

"you won fair and square toots, now what should I do for you since you won, hm?" You asked as Ruby puts some thought about it, before her face turns into a bright red colour as she leans forward and tilts her head sideways. "As the winner, I would like you to kiss me on the cheeks and take me out on a date!"

For the first time in your life, you were surprised by that request and didn't predicted Ruby to request those two things.

With a smile you gave the scythe wielding Girl a kiss on the cheeks and asked her on a date. Which she automatically agreed to.

Fun fact! Your weapon is a cane that can convert into a bladed whip. You also own some sort of old gun from the 80s.

You and Ruby's combo+ship name is called RoseNoir or Black Beauty Rose cause it's basically the noir of Roses.

Your semblance is called Detective Vison it works similarly like Batman's Detective Mode from the Arkham Games.

I came back from my last day of work and I came to pick up my little sister from the Kindergarten, ever since my parents died after that Grim attack I got separated from my childhood best friends Lie and Nora, and the only thing I wish for is to see them again...I came to kindergarten and I see my adoptive little sister S/N she notice me and runs quickly at me and hugs me tighly 

S/N says while still hugging me “is mommy coming late again”

I nod and pet her head “yeah, she and uncle Pietro had something to attend on the last minute so she asked me to pick you up for her” she nods and takes my hand and I say “didn’t you forgot something?” she gasp and realize she runs off and she pick up her Pyrrha Nikos’ action figure, S/N really is a big fan of Pyrrha and is also sad that she died, S/N was sad as well but she takes it pretty well from someone her age well we arrived home wish is a fine house and I told her “hey S/N go get ready and I’ll make dinner for us okay”

she smile brightly and nods and hugs me tightly and say “Yay, don’t tell Mommy, but I like your cooking better, where did you learn how to make those Pancakes like that this morning”

I went silent for a bit and I sigh and reply to her with a smile “from my childhood friend”

he ask me since he talks with a voice changer I guess that’s what the choker is “are you alright?”

I don’t know why but I feel like I know him I nod and then say “yeah I’m okay, thanks” the figure nods at me and then I notice that there was the last of them and I noticed a familiar face landed on the ground and is none other than Penny Polendina I thought she died back at amity that’s when Pietro explains that How did Penny “survived” 

Pietro and Halo notice the masked hunter who help us out

Halo did a chuckle and say “come out my child you can let them show you”

the Figure replies “I wish it was easier that I think but we’re in public and my face need to be keep hidden from...You know who” 

Halo sighs and nods saying “alright, let’s go, then” 

we begin to walk but then we hear a grunt and is that Ruby’s been tied up by some rope and then Weiss, Blake, and Yang that’s I heard the mask hunter shouting “Lie, look out!” I got tackled down by the hunter...wait did he call me Lie? does he know me?...or yet does he know...him the Mask hunter drag me away from the what’s going on and I see that they’re taking my friends I struggle to get out and he says “you can’t they’re beyond more experienced than us we need to hide, we’ll get your friends back I promise” I don’t know why but I feel like I can trust him I nod and we went to a warehouse, and I hear Halo’s voice 

she says “Canary can you hear me?”

the guy pulls out a communicator and says “yeah I hear you, the Ace Ops has the others, but I manage to save Lie” he said my first name again...this can’t be Y/N

Halo says “well unfortunately, Atlas are going to look for you and Ren, be careful, Y/N” My eyes widen in shock once I hear his real name

he turn off his voice changer and says “yes...I will, mom”

once he hanged up I ask “Y-Y/N” Canary slowly turn to me and he takes off his mask and I notice that once he takes off his mask his “blue” eyes turns into E/C he touches his blonde hair and pulls off revealing his natural H/C

I was shock after seeing this and I see that it is him, my best friend...the person that I’ve been wanting to look for was right in front of me Y/N L/N he looks at me with a smile as tears begins to fall down from his faces saying with his voice breaking “Found You Lie” I couldn’t take it anymore I pull Y/N to a tight embrace and I begin to cry while holding him close as he hugs me back, I hear him say "I've missed you Lie"

I reply while burying my face on his shoulder since I’m a litter taller than him "I’ve missed you too,Y/N” I pull myself away from Y/N and ask “how you recognized me?"

He smiles at me and reply "I mean only the Lie I know has that cute pink stripe on your hair, and he looks pretty cool in green"

I feel my face heating up and look away and I see some chattered glass on the floor Y/N notice it as well and say “Oh, sorry I wasn’t expecting to takes somebody here that I didn’t notice my own mess” Y/N press a button and a small robot cleans up the floor is a cube shaped robot and it look kind of cute

I ask him “what this your doing?”

Y/N nods saying “yes Lie, aftef all this is the result after fully mastered the Semblance I was born with”

I ask him “how does it does?”

he looks at me with a unsured expression “you’re sure you want to know?”

I nod and say “yeah, I want to since I don’t know about it”

Y/N sigh and goes to a night table and pulls out ear plugs and walks towards me and says while handing them to me “take this you might need it” 

I look at Y/N confusedly and nod and once I put them some eye protection glasses and he gave me a pair as well for my eyes aswell so I put them on and he looks at me and then nod as if he’s asking if I’m ready and I nod back in reply. Y/N takes a deep breath and fires a huge sonic scream and chatters all the glass that are in front of him

I was amazed with what Y/N did and I couldn’t think about what’s just happened I take the earplugs off once he looks at me as he says “I know is not the best semblance but at least is useful for something that’s why Winter Schnee trained me and became the person that you see right now” I notice that he look down in sadness as he adds “ever since the attack those years ago I still remember it like it was yesterday and I wish that one day I could be strong enough to avenge our people and our family that didn’t survived...Lie...I’ve killed people before...It was unbelievable of me doing it, I didn’t wanted t-to Lie, I-I s-swear”

he cries I pull him to a embrace and hold him close and say “Y/N...I believe you, even that you killed people...you’re still the Favorite Flower I know” Y/N blushes and I realized what I said and made me blush as well and say “I-I mean the Y/N I-I know”

I then hear Y/N chuckle and say “you’re so sweet Lie, thanks...but I’m still picking up pieces of the fact that I killed people of the white fang trying to attack Mantle taking innoncent humans hostage” he looks up at me with a smile

I place a hand on his left cheek and say “I mean what I say, and...you don’t need to take those pieces alone, I’m always here...to pick them up with you” and I feel this closeness that I have with him those Magestic E/C that same smooth H/L HC hair of his and those soft lips...I wanted to kiss them so bad I lean closer and I see that he’s doing the same our lips are a inch close to touch but that moment ruinded when a hard knock echoed the room and he says to me “hide” he went to take his clothes off and I turn away and hide in a closet I then her the door open

Y/N’s POV

I take off my jacket and put a random shirt over the black than top and open the door hopefully Lie’s well hidden and I open the door revealing to be Mom and...Winter

Mom ask “you’re okay?”

I nod “I am, well we’re okay”

they both walk in as I ask “knowing you Winter you aren’t just here for a visit, so what business you want to bring?”

She gives me a apology look and says “Ironwood knows about me knowing about you..., but not exactly who you are and he wants me to bring you to him...and he know that you got Lie Ren with you”

I sigh and say “you can come out Lie” Lie walk out of the closet and I look back at Winter and ask “I don’t trust Ironwood, now what?”

Mom says “for the best I think you two should go”

I look at Mom like she’s crazy “why?”

I notice tears are forming in her eyes and answers “if you don’t they’ll kill S/N”

My eyes widen in shock and hear Winter grunt in anger and Lie gasp Winter says “and he’ll also kill Weiss and the others if I disobey his orders”

I take a deep breath and say “sure...I need time to cool down” I sit on the bed and say “sorry that you get to see that side of me”

- Ruby, ironically enough, doesn’t smell like roses. She doesn’t like the flowery really girly scents that other girls (we’re looking at you Weiss) tend to enjoy.

- Ruby will usually wear something that smells soft and has a citrus undertone to it. She thinks that it gives a nice pop like her personality.

Weiss Schnee:

- Weiss is the Q u e e n of perfume. Her perfume collection is so big that she couldn’t take all of them to Beacon with her. She just really likes to smell good.

- Her favorite one at the moment smells like crisp pine trees. It’s a little heavy for her, but she likes how much it reminds her of winter. Which, ironically enough, is her favorite season.

Blake Belladonna:

- Blake actually doesn’t use very many scented products. She doesn’t like the way they mess with her sense of smell.

This is a RWBY x Reader fic following an original team of characters attending Beacon! You are (Y/N) Luman, who is starting Beacon after moving from Atlas with your friend Ashley Ghost.

Here is Chapter 2, where you and Ash are now headed to hear the introductory speech from Beacons Headmaster! Hope you enjoy it!

Chapter 2: “I Certainly do”

As you catch the end of the train of other soon-to-be Huntsmen and Huntresses, you see that they are filing toward a large building that was tucked away to the left of the main collection of towers. It was a large circular structure, that you noticed didn’t have a roof when you got closer. You followed everyone through a set of enormous doors and join the crowd, that were gathered around a stage looking area at the front that was slightly raised higher up. Having a look around, you work out that you’re stood in some sort of amphitheatre, most likely used for combat training. The area that you’re all stood seems to be the main arena, with the circumference being lined with two levels of seating. You nudge Ashley and point up at the non-existent ceiling.

“It’s like they knew I’d be attending,” you grin. She rolls her eyes and you both make your way through the crowd to get a little closer to the stage. Once you are as close as you can get, without being too rude to those around you, two people appear on stage and walk up to the microphone that is placed there. One, you recognise as the woman who spoke through the hologram on the airship, Glynda Goodwitch, whom is stood behind someone who you haven’t seen before. He has grey hair, as if he was quite old but he looked a lot younger than that let on. He wore a pair of thin circular spectacles that he pushes up his nose as he begins to talk, keeping a cane by his side as he does.

“I’ll… make this brief,” he begins, with a very formal voice, that bore an aura of wisdom behind it. “You have travelled here today in search of knowledge. To hone your craft and acquire new skills, and when you have finished, you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people. But I look amongst you, and all I see is wasted energy…”

“Ouch…” you mutter, frowning at his wording.

“Shh,” Ashley chastises you, stepping on your foot.

“… in need of purpose, direction,” the man continues. “You assume knowledge will free you of this, but your time at this school will prove that knowledge can only carry you so far. It is up to you to take the first step”. He finishes his speech and walks off to the side, where Glynda steps up to the microphone.

“You will gather in the ballroom tonight. Tomorrow your initiation begins. Be ready. Also, can you all refrain from using any weapons or equipment you have brought with you until the test begins tomorrow,” she scans over the crowd as she says this, but you could swear she glares at you for a split second. “You are dismissed!” she says, and with that everyone begins to slowly file out of the arena.

“So, who was the first guy? He didn’t introduce himself?” you ask Ashley, who gives you her signature eye roll.

“That was the headmaster, Professor Ozpin! How don’t you know that?”

“Oh right! Well in my defence Ash, there weren’t any pictures when I was applying, so how was I supposed to know?” you shrug.

“How can you be both clever and a complete idiot?” she shakes her head, though clearly trying to hide a smirk.

Scanning the room, you noticed that there was such a large variety of diverse people, each clearly from a different background and with no two people having similar styles at all. There was also open mingling for everyone, with people all sleeping either with groups of friends, by themselves or with new people they had met. Some people had got changed into their pyjama’s, though there didn’t seem to be a clear place to switch clothes. You shrug, unclipping your backpack and slipping off the weapons on your wrists, but left your watch on your left hand. You place them next to your roll matt, then remove your white waistcoat and black t-shirt, folding them and putting them in the same area as the rest. Once you are done, you turn to see Ashley walking up to you. Somehow, she’s completely changed out of her normal clothes and is wearing a t-shirt and pyjama bottoms.

“There was a place to change wasn’t there?” you sigh. Ashley gives you a fake look of sympathy and nods her head. You shrug and you both lay down, with you laying over your sleeping bag and your friend climbing into hers. You roll onto your side to face her, propping you head up with your arm.

“Isn’t this so cool?” you ask her, whispering in an excited voice.

“Well, it’s certainly different from the bunkbeds we had back in Atlas, and the fact we’re not in separate rooms for gender,” she replies.

“Are you saying you don’t approve?” you raise your eyebrows and poke her shoulder. “I know I do,” you say, realising that both you and the person behind you had said the exact same thing. You roll over to see who it was, and you’re met with a tall girl in an orange tank top and long golden yellow hair. She looks straight to your bare chest, before gazing up and directly at you.

“Yup, I definitely do,” she says, giving you a wink. You look down at your own body. Though you’re reluctant to admit it, you were quite well built, but not something to gawk over in your eyes.

“Well, thanks I guess?” you respond. The girl chuckles, clearly enjoying the fact you were moderately flustered by her comment. She holds out her fist to you.

“Yang Xao Long, nice to meet ya!” she introduces herself, and you return the fist bump.

“(Y/N) Luman, charmed,” you say back.

“I mean of course you are,” Yang flicks her hair, giving off a cocky smile.

“Oh my word, she’s literally you in female form,” you hear Ashley mutter behind you. Sitting up, you gesture to her for Yang.

“Where are my manners? This is my friend Ashley Ghost”. She waves to Yang, with her getting a two-finger salute back from the blonde.

“Sup?”

“Hi. Please tell me you can’t fly too? I can only babysit one bird,” Ashley jerks a thumb in your direction.

“Stop with the bird stuff, it really makes it seem way less cool than it actually is,” you complain.

“Oh! Were you the one flying around earlier?” Yang asks you, completely forgetting about Ash’s question.

“I was yeah,” you answer, giving off your signature grin. In response, Yang immediately rolls over and taps the girl’s shoulder next to her.

“Ruby, you’ll want to meet this guy,��� she says to her, you can’t really see her much, but she’s lying on her stomach and scribbling something.

“Yang! I told you that I’m writing a letter to Signal right now, and I don’t need to make friends!” she complained.

“Oh really? Ah well I just figured you’d want to meet the person who had the wings you were drooling over earlier,” Yang says sarcastically, giving a nonchalant shrug. She had barely finished the sentence when the girl, Ruby, was clambering over her to see, pushing Yang over by her face.

“Who is it?!” she asks, almost shouting. You keep a straight face and point at yourself. She climbs over and sits cross legged in front of you, staring at you in delight with startling silver eyes.

“You flying around earlier was so cool! Like when you did the dive, the weaving in and out of the arches and… well all of it was awesome!” she barely breathes when saying this. You’re almost scared of how excited she is, you’d never seen anyone this interested by your wings before.

“Wow… well thanks, uh, Ruby, is it?” you ask, getting a quick nod in response.

“Sorry, I’m just really fascinated with weapons you know? Like everyone has different ones so it’s fun to see what everyone has!” she explains, with Yang giving a weird smile from behind her, which looks to be pride.

“That’s no problem at all, it’s refreshing to see someone as excited as you are for once,” you say, giving Ashley a fake judgemental sideways glance. She simply rolls her eyes, but she is clearly amused by Ruby’s reaction too, as she is smiling herself too. You turn back to the girl. She’s a lot smaller than most people you have met so far, with relatively short black hair that has red highlights at the ends.

“If we’re being honest, it’s only really half of my get up”.

“Oh really? What else do you have?” Ruby asks, though you tap your nose in response.

“Not going to tell you yet, maybe you’ll see it tomorrow though”. She looks slightly disappointed that you didn’t say, but quickly regains her original mood, looking over to Ashley to gawk once again.

“Is that a robot arm?” she asks, shifting over to her to get a closer look. Your friend suddenly looks quite flustered that she is the centre of attention now, but shakes it off and presents her arm for her. Ruby leans in, inspecting it all in detail, whilst asking loads of questions to her about it like “how much can you lift with it?” and “are you good at arm wrestling?”

“This is the most uncomfortable I’ve seen Ash in a long time,” you lean over to Yang and say. She gives a slight chuckle.

“So, are you two a couple?” she asks you bluntly, raising an eyebrow. You smile and roll your eyes. It’s a question the two of you have been asked quite a few times.

“No, we’re not, and I’m going to guess you and Ruby here are sisters?” you ask back.

“Yup, though technically half-sisters, how’d you guess?”

“I’m smart like that”. You look back to Ruby, who is now trying to persuade your friend to show her the weapon functions. Before you can intervene, Yang does for you.

“You want to blow up the school again Ruby?” she says, clearly teasing her sister for something.

“That wasn’t my fault!” she huffs, crossing her arms. “In fact, it’s more likely his fault, for distracting me,” she points at you. You are about to ask her what the heck she is talking about, but you remember what you saw on the top of the school.

“Wait… was that you who caused the explosion in the courtyard?” you also recall what Weiss told you earlier about some girl being ignorant with dust and ‘almost killing her’. Ruby looks dead embarrassed, but then seems to notice something behind Yang.

“That girl…” she mutters. Yang follows her gaze.

“Do you know her?” she asks.

“She was there at the courtyard when I exploded,” she explains. You also see where she is looking. She’s looking at a girl who is sat against the wall, reading a book in the light of a candle next to her. Yang grabs her sister’s wrist and begins to hoist her up.

“Well, let’s go over and say hello then!” she says eagerly.

“Wait what?!” Ruby exclaims, as she is dragged across the room by Yang, frantically complaining as she does.

“Um… Bye then?” you meekly say, giving a small wave, but they are gone doing their own thing.

“I did not think that there could be anyone more impulsive than you,” Ashley points out.

“Which one are you talking about?”

Looking over to the two sisters, Ash thinks, then shrugs. “Both of them to be honest”. She lies back down and tucks herself into her sleeping bag, removing her arm and placing it beside her.

“We should get some rest, need to be ready for that initiation tomorrow”. You nod in response, also getting into your own sleeping bag and laying down to rest. Resting your eyes, you smile at the day you’ve had. Beacon has already turned out to be pretty cool so far, and it’s barely been one day.

Weiss was many things, smart, strong and confident. Yet now at this moment she couldn’t help but feel the opposite.

“Weiss, you need to leave.” You advised weakly, you could feel your consciousness slowly fading.

But if Weiss was one thing- it was stubborn.

“Be quiet! Just wait, I’ll get this debri off you.”

She didn’t know how she would, her aura was all but depleted leaving her semblance unusable. She wasn’t monstrously strong like Yang or able to come up with plans on the spot like Ruby. Heck, she couldn’t keep calm like Blake in the moment either.

She grunted as she tried to pull it off, yet stopped when she heard your pained whimper. Feeling hopeless, she sat next to your head to catch her breath.

“Weiss-“

“No.”

“But-“

“No!”

“I’m serious!!”

“ And I am too!!”

With a huff she tried to move the debri off of you again, only to fail. Unbeknownst to her, you alerted other teams, yet not to save you.

To evacuate Weiss.

Needless to say when this guy named Dion, from team DRGN(Dragon) grabbed her, she was not happy.

“LET ME GO-“

He didn’t listen, he gave one last sorrowful glance to you as you nodded. He left and all Weiss could do was cry, her last image of you was you all bloodied and crushed under some building debri that fell on you.

She didn’t cope well, not to mention she wasn’t in the best environment, yet being told officially that you’re gone messed with her

She was watching the news, part of her daily schedule while at the Schnee manor, she wondered what Lisa Lavender had to report today.

She didn’t expect to be reminded that you’re gone.

Up on the screen was a list, a list of people who were MIA, severely injured or dead.

[“This is a sad story today however as all of remnant knows, there was an event that we now titled ‘The Fall of Beacon’. Today’s time is dedicated to all the losses.”] Weiss froze, she never was told your exact fate, she prayed it wasn’t the last option.

“Kate Lewthren of team KITE, MIA.”

“Y/N L/N of T/N(team name), reported dead by debris ”

Weiss dropped her cup of coffee, it shattered as she felt her world grow more cold. She expected this yet for some reason it still hurt to hear.

And just like that, she truly started becoming an Ice Queen

Yet Weiss at heart is strong, and her team helped her overcome her sorrow

“Weiss!” The Schnee turned her head towards her dolt of a leader. Weiss wasn’t looking her best, she was exhausted from how hard she pushed herself to be strong.

“What Ruby, if it isn’t important I’d like to resume my activities.”

She was forced to turn around, there she realized it wasn’t just Ruby there, Yang also stood with her.

“Weiss, it wasn’t your fault.” Weiss clenched her fist at Ruby’s words, she had heard this many times already, yet they still kept telling her.

“If that’s all I’d like to be left alone now.” The fencer responded coldly, yet her two friends were having it.

Weiss suddenly felt Myrtenaster disappear from her hand, not even a moment later Yang quickly picked her up and brought her inside.

She glared at the two sisters yet it had no effect. She was squashed between them on a red couch, with a final huff they all started to speak.

She really did appreciate the brute and dolt.

And just as you looked out for her before, you saved her once again.

Weiss could only hear Jaune scream, she was exhausted, her aura gone from her fight with Vernal. Not even noticing the spear headed her way.

Yet before it could reach her a sudden gunshot changed its course to the ground. She slowly turned around, her face only conveyed shock as she saw your figure.

Your stupid, stupid, well missed self.

Quickly turning around, you flashed her a gentle grin.

“Weiss.”

And just like that Weiss’ life felt way less cold.

Weiss would’ve beat you to death with a pillow if it wasn’t for the fact she was so relieved.

The battle ended and everyone was resting after the battle with Cinder, soon they’d have to leave for the station. Traveling again, after all, saving the world isn’t easy.

You thought you’d be able to get some rest too, but given the situation you’re in now it’s clear you won’t.

“I can’t-“

*smack*

“Ow-“

“Believe you’d”

“Weiss, mercy!”

“Do something-“

“Dear Oum-“

“So-“

*smack*

“Agh-“

“STUPID!!”

After beating you half to death with her pillow she brought you into a tearful hug.

“Don’t do that ever again.” She mumbled. Your face softened as you nodded.

“Say it.” She demanded making you chuckle.

“I won’t do it ever again.”

“Good.”

“I love you Weiss”

“I love you too Y/N”
