About me: I love reading/writing and at any given moment I have too many projects circling through my head. I've loved to read for as long as I can remember and I've enjoyed writing things for that same amount of time. I also love video games and motorcycling, so if I'm not working on a wip I'm usually doing one of those two.
I'm not currently published, but I have a handful of original stuff I've been working on as well as fanfic. Some of my favorite tropes to read are found family, action/suspense, angst, horror/supernatural and slice-of-life. I tend to write very light sci-fi, action, supernatural, angst (though usually with a happy, if not bittersweet, ending) and occasionally somewhat comedic stuff. Sometimes, sometimes, I make shit get dark. I struggle with writing mystery and heavy romance, though I've been experimenting with the latter. A lot of my characters have somewhat sad backstories because apparently that's just what I do.
Tag game friendly!
I also love hearing about other people's wips so anyone is welcome to ramble in my inbox about their ocs and stories.
Side blogs: @purefandomonium: my blog for anything fandom-related. @artspace1001: for any art or photography.
Other places to find me: I currently lurk on FFN and AO3 under the username ThisPerson1.
Info about my wips below the cut.
All of my works are primarily tagged under their full titles, the fandom name if it's a fic, "creative writing," "writers on tumblr," "fanfic" and "my writing." Anything extra will be listed.
Original WIPS:
Medical Mechanical: A story about a couple of friends who set out to uncover the truth behind the mysterious mega-corporation that has infested their town and done strange things to their parents. Sci-fi, young adult, and I guess it also sort of falls under action, although nothing major really happens until much later. Additional tag(s): "mm" and "sci fi."
It's the first original thing I began posting about and also my favorite original project. I actually do have tons more than what I've posted thus far, but I got caught up in perfecting it and then sidetracked and kind of just stopped talking about it.
The Set Up: A sort of enemies-to-lovers* story involving two old acquaintances meeting years later and being reminded of how much they piss each other off. After they end up stuck together on a camping trip that was nothing more than a mischievous plan by their respective friends, they're forced to deal with each other until the trip ends. (Very light) Romance*, slice-of-life, humor/comedy, and angst—mostly due to their past trauma.
It's the second original project I'm working on, although this one has taken a backseat to my other works because I'm still going through the process of reformulating it. I thought I had it figured out, and was originally going to have it take place in college and be a forced-by-friends camping trip gone wrong, but I just wasn't feeling it. I don't know, but the way it was coming along just... didn't feel right. So I decided to essentially start over rather than force myself through something I wasn't enjoying and that wasn't getting anywhere. The main theme is that the two MCs initially can't stand each other and butt heads, however, they eventually learn more about themselves and each other and start making amends.
*I'm also at a point where I don't think I'm going to keep it as romance, but instead have their relationship be platonic. We'll see.
Connection: Pokepasta/Glitchy Red fic about a girl who manages to befriend the embittered glitch. In other words, hermit high-schooler gets ahold of the titular Red cart and gets a new friend, and local depressed kids' game may not think life is so miserable anymore. Sci-fi/supernatural (because my version of Red is somehow both just a bunch of code and some digitalized cryptid entity,) very mild angst in the form of bullying, and found family/friendship. Additional tag(s): "glitchy red" and "pokepasta".
Fanfic:
I got the brainrot and just wanted something to write with no worries. I write a chapter and as long as it holds up the story it gets published. That's it. I'm taking a break from serious writing/editing with this one. I've already let it get too out of hand as is. It was supposed to be a two-parter. Now look at it.
Mysterious New Member: Fic about the BF5 gaining a new member under mysterious circumstances. Due to the secrets she seems to be hiding, and the rising tensions of the war, Vert and the others find themselves on edge and at odds over what to do. Takes place during Fused. Sci-fi, action/adventure, humor. Additional tag(s): "bf5," and "hot wheels battle force 5."
Fun fact: This is a fic I started when I was like 13. I recently began rewriting it because now I am not 13 and I was rereading it one day and went, "The fuck did I write it like this for???" So began my tedious work of redoing the whole thing. The original is actually still up on FFN under the exact same name, for the new one I only added rewrite to the title 😅 I'm not mad at myself for the way it came out or anything, as I was literally a kid, but I can safely say my writing has improved immensely and I just couldn't fight the urge revamp it. I'm quite proud of how this new one is coming along, being both an improvement of my original version and also a slightly daker and more interesting take on BF5. I'm actually close to done, I'd say about 75-ish percent. I really just have two more major plot points to go through and the rest is just tying up loose ends as I go along. That said, if you'd like to check out the abandoned original, feel free. Just be prepared for a bit of whiplash when comparing the two.
It's The Thought That Counts: Dead Plate AU fic I started on a whim and, like a lot of things, it got out of hand and became a fun little side project. Rody isn't hopelessly pining after Manon, who's still alive but not relevant to the story, and Vincent isn't a psycho cannibal killer. Essentially gay panic meets bi-denial, Rody attempts to impress Vincent by learning how to bake lemon-themed desserts after he discovers it's the only thing that gives him any semblance of taste. After a shaky start, Vince decides to start giving Rody lessons and they eventually come to terms with their feelings. Romance, humor, angst, slice-of-life.
I've actually never written proper romance before this and am absolutely shocked that it's coming along as well as it is. It's the most fluff I've ever written. For whatever reason, these two dorks are super easy for me to write. I also recommend checking out the game, it's super fun.
There is so much more, but I'm going to stop for now.
If it wasn't already obvious, writing is my biggest passion and I hope to keep improving and expanding what I do. I'm also always open to advice and constructive criticism, and I hope to inspire and help others with their writing. Also, if you write anything with the tropes or genres that I listed, don't hesitate to tag me and I'll check them out! I really enjoy reading other people's works.
So yeah, that's me. If you made it this far, thank you for checking out my blog (and my long ass intro post) and I hope you'll stick around and see what I have to offer. Be on the lookout for more and more to come!

M, T, and Y?
Hi! These are fascinating questions (ask link here)! Would love to see your answers to any of them!
M: What’s the weirdest AU scenario you’ve ever come up with?  Did it turn into a story?
Well. Weird is a hard term. What does weird mean? However, I would love to write a fic about the National Radio Astronomy Lab in Greenbank WV which is a "quiet area" where you can't use most electronics because they interfere with the radio astronomy signals. It's the perfect place for a meet cute. I have the plot all sketched out. I just need to write it.
Probably counts as weird?
T: Any fanfic tropes you can’t stand?
Can't stand is a strong term because really I am talented and brave about not reading stuff that isn't my jam, people should write whatever they like!
I think any trope can be done well, I used to have some less favorites but I've been proven wrong enough I'll give any trope a chance.
I have a lot of triggers and do not wants, most around consent and humiliation kink. But I get those things are hot for a lot of people, I adore ao3 tags for that reason.
I will say I am developing an eyeroll reaction to penis having people having anal sex without any preparation and it's described basically like penis and vagina sex (particularly if characters involved have never had anal sex). I mean. It's so....penis and vagina heterosexual to the point it feels anti-queer almost to me??? Like if you are writing smut about queer people having sex maybe think about how queer people might have sex (or fade to black or whatever)? There are a lot of ways to have sex if you are say, lost in the woods or stuck on an airplane or whatever with no lube, or can't wait a single second to prep.
Penetration with a penis is not inherently more romantic or "meaningful" than other kinds of sex and it feels like a harmful thing about society leaking into my happy fanfiction when this gets portrayed to extremes is I think the source of my annoyance.
But, no one asked me to read that fic, and no one needs to be going to ao3 for sex lessons.
Y: What are your thoughts on your personal satisfaction with something you’ve written vs. the popularity of your stories?  Do you tend to be most satisfied with your most popular stories?
This is interesting to me especially since my college AU and my Shrunkyclunk with Captain America and Lawyer Bucky are my most popular. Clearly they are popular because they use tropes/settings that are popular.
I like all my stories well enough or I would pull them down (which I have) but I think Backhoe is probably my "best and favorite" and it's just long and kinda niche. Which is fine. People re-read that one too and it has a lot of chapters (so you have to visit the fic more times to read it) so it ended up with a low kudos to hits ratio which is also fine but something it took me time as an author to understand.
Plastered is probably my least favorite, I just think it's rough or maybe I was just sad when I wrote it so it makes me sad?, and it is more popular than Backhoe.
Anyway, no, popularity doesn't impact my satisfaction with my fics, but it did take me time to figure it out and I still find statistics fascinating of anyone ever wants to talk ao3 stats with me!

Passing this on :p
Fic authors self rec! When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you've written, then pass on to at least five other writers. Let’s spread the self-love! 💞
Ahhhhh thank you so much!!!!!! This is so nice of you to send >:] tysm <3
I'm going to recommend both Elisabeth and Endeavour fics because I've spent a lot of time writing for both!! So let's get to it, in no order of preference:
Feel The Night - Endeavour (TV) - rated T, Morse x Jakes, vampire AU, Victorian setting, mystery/romance, ballroom dancing, neck biting, strangers to lovers, 5 chapters / 23.5k
This is secretly a TdV / Endeavour fusion (from before my full-blown euromusical era hehehehehe). I think it's some of the best work on setting and mood that I've done - like I did a bunch of research and actually put that to the page ajdjjjg. Really proud of it even 3 years down the line!!
Flights of Angels - Elisabeth - rated M (references sex), Rudolf x Tod, post-canon, angst with a happy ending, character growth, historical references and commentary, 12 chapters / 20k
My todolf divorce fanfic xD Exploring the deep implications of the common trope of human-to-Todesengel; Tod backstory and worldbuilding, esp referencing the human-metaphor dichotomy inherent in Máté's portrayal; character growth and character development for Rudolf. Yeah I wax poetic but this is actually mostly an exploration of how Máté!Tod and Lukas!Rudolf (because they are very specific portrayals!!!!) could make a long-term relationship work. There are Implications to it. Also, Mizzi Kaspar appears!!!
Vögelein - Elisabeth - rated M (but one chapter might as well be E), Rudolf x Tod, lesbian todolf, 5+1, historical commentary and references, 6 chapters / 7.2k
Lesbian todolf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's literally just "what if Rudolf was born a girl" (and Stéphanie a boy) and goes from there - ie. we end up in the Belgian court which comes with extremely unfortunate implications in the late 19th century. Also Tod is a woman (hehe lyrics reference) because I don't stand for heterosexuality sorry AHSHFHGH. Rudolf also keeps all his (= her) unsavoury historical womanizing because it's so integral to the character, in my opinion. I'm really proud of this >:]
Soft Like Summer Rain - Endeavour - rated M (but one chapter might as well be E), Morse x Jakes / Jakes x Hope / Morse x Jakes x Hope, mutual pining, 21 chapters / 51.6k
My longest fic to date!! I wrote it when I was 18 fun fact: largely in class too xD so some parts I can't bear to reread because I'm afraid I'll find lots of melodrama ahdjg, but it's one of a kind and I'm so proud of what it represents!! Plot: what if Morse visited Jakes over the summer after S3 and things kinda went from there. I can't believe Jakes asking him to come to the US with him actually became canon in S9, 4 years after this fic was published,, half-convinced Russ Lewis reads my fanfic...
Midnight Man - Elisabeth - rated E, Rudolf x Tod, modern AU, yeah um it's a one-shot that's rated E and only 2k words long you can do the math about what happens in it...
My first todolf fanfic xD Lawyer Rudolf. There's an entire unpublished modern AU universe based on this but it's more fun to think about than it necessarily is to write out, especially since the fun parts are just Tod forcibly inserting himself into Rudolf's life as common-law boyfriend/roommate (depression metaphor!!1) and getting up to shenanigans. I don't really have interesting things to say re: it being a modern AU, which makes it harder to write. I've worked on a ballet AU behind the scenes for like 2 years adjhfjjg which is a modern AU that takes the metaphors a lot further... but I haven't managed to write it because I'm not entirely sure how I'll approach it, especially the Tod characterisation in that. But I've done so much research that hopefully I will write something in that universe eventually...
Thank you again for sending this, it was so much fun to look back on what I've written!! >:]

*sets up my little tent in your askbox as I usually do* H , Q , S & T for the fanfic ask game !! <3
Thank you lovely!!
H: How would you describe your style?
I think I try to strike a balance between something clean but also...decorative? LOL that's like the worst way to describe it. Lots of sensory details. Definitely less dialogue-heavy. I read a lot of poetry or at least try to and I think that has an impact as well.
Q: How do you feel about collaborations?
Collaborating at multiple steps besides the actual writing is one of my favorite things - talking through different scenarios, popcorning ideas back and forth, floating what-ifs, all that good stuff. So much of my writing just would not exist without that. And I've done it for actual published fic! But I could never collaborate on the actual writing. Sorry. Nope. I love my friends but I just could not. I need my own timeline and process.
S: Any fandom tropes you can't resist?
Reincarnation AUs and/or anything involving past lives. FWBs catching feelings. Mutual pining. Being in DEEP and knowing it but pretending you're not. Little deep-dive character studies from one POV.
T: Any fandom tropes you can't stand?
This is something that's definitely changed as I've gotten older, and I realize it's pretty rich coming from someone who wrote, yknow. An entire flower shop AU last year but. I don't vibe as much with something very modern like a coffee shop AU for example. I've found that it's usually accompanied by a disconnect with the characters where there's....all fluff and no substance, no tension or struggle.
Enemies to lovers is one where if it's done well I will love it, but if done poorly...nope. Do not want. Get it away. Your characters are just being cruel to each other.

I have a bit of a bone to pick with the VLD fandom. If you'll allow me a bit of a rant:
In most, if not all, fics I've read, when Voltron arrives at a new planet they meet with The King or The Queen or one royal family. Why?
(I can't figure out how to make a cut on the app. Imagine this is it.)
On Earth we don't have one set/couple/family of rulers, and if there was one person to declare themselves king/queen we would revolt. We've done it in the past. Hell, most of Great Britain's history is about power grabs for the crown than ended in war/revolution/coup, you name it. So why are we assuming collectively that whatever planet Voltron lands on will have one monarchy to rule over the whole thing? Is such a thing even logistically possible?
Why is it a monarchy? We on Earth haven't had a monarchy that's held actual power for at least a century, I think (correct me if I'm wrong). Why would they? And only one at that? Why not a parliament, kind of like we see at the beginning of Lilo and Stich? Why not show that some parts of the planet have a monarchy, while others have democracy, while others have locally oppressive dictatorships, like we do on Earth?
It just makes no sense to me, and bothers me greately, that there is only one form of government in the whole a$$ planet, and that everyone there, unanimously, are happy with it and agree with its decision to join the coalition. Oh, and did I mention that in these kind of fics the only diplomatic functions we see are balls where whatever ship is front and center can dance and have A Moment? And then BOOM! The aliens join the coallition? Because Lance and Keith kissed and the aliens are suckers for gay romance??
That's not how diplomacy works! In order to understand how crucial and delicate deplomacy really is, let's look at the sh*t show that led to World War I: Germany, the US, France and Austria had multiple diplomatic meetings following the shooting of the Archduke Ferdinand. Germany demanded from the Serbians, I think, extremeley harsh methods of retribution to make up for the assassination, including, if I'm not mistaken, land concessions and a declaration that Serbia would be subservient to Germany. The Serbian government couldn't really do that, and they told Germany so, but Germany threatened to go to war if Serbia didn't comply. And they did. And then World War I led to World War II, which led to the Cold War, which had long reaching ramifications that affect us to this day, such as the rise and fall of the Soviet Union and Comunism, the adoption of Comunism in Cuba, North Korea and other countries that today struggle, the Vietnam War, which according to my husband happened because the US couldn't stand and allow a communist regime in Vietnam, or something like that.
Even today, diplomacy is a very thin tight rope. Look at the NATO renewal agreements that haven't been reached yet, and that if they don't, could mean another Cold War as countries arm themselves to the teeth with nuclear weapons.
Why do we think a whole a$$ planet full of aliens would be any different? Imagine what WE would do, on Earth, if this monstrous machine called Voltron came down from space one day and claimed to be Defenders of the Universe and they'd like an audience with Earth's leaders??? Who would we send? Obama? Trump? Biden? What about someone who isn't American? Maybe a Brit? A French? Maybe someone from Africa or Australia? The UN? Believe me, just trying to decide who would meet or host with Voltron would stretch diplomacy to its limits and could ruffle many feathers or many world leaders which could lead to conflict.
If you've read this far, thank you. I don't want any beef with anyone. I only used Klance as an example but this is a trope repeated throughout, regardless of the ship. I know I'm nitpicking. I know it's a TV show for kids. I know these things don't matter to most people. I just wanted to let that out there as a point of conversation, and maybe to inspire fanfic writers to think outside the box. Bye.

K, Q & T please for the Fanfic Game? ♥
K: What's the angstiest idea you've ever come up with?
Probably the events that will occur in chapter 4 of Perzys se Rūkla - I don't want to spoil it, but it is going to be painful for our unlikely lovers. I've had this idea brewing for a while and writing the plot I need to advance to the specific scene I want feels positively torturous, but it will be worth it.
Q: How do you feel about collaborations?
In the setting of a big bang style event, it's great - one person writes the story and one or two others create accompanying art or a playlist. I don't think you need more than one writer to a story though - Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman is the only exception to this rule in my mind.
T: Any fandom tropes you can't stand?
Not really a trope, but rewrites of stories that already exist. I appreciate that originality is rare these days - it's all been done before - but do you really need to dump your characters into the plot of a pre-existing book or movie? Come up with your own idea.

H, K, J, S & T from the fanfic meme! I'm greedy and love your writing, so eager to learn more about your process :3
Aaaa, that's very sweet of you! Thanks very much for the ask. ❤
H: How would you describe your writing style?
Oh, that's a tough one to answer! I think one of the major challenges of writing any type of fiction is figuring out how to get impressions and feelings across without being too "on the nose" about it - so I end up using a lot of imagery, and little snippets of past scenes, and sometimes stream-of-consciousness type passages to try and capture what I want to say. I like third-person limited POV for the most part, and I usually pick one particular character to stay with for the duration of the story.
K:  Do you have a guilty pleasures in fic (reading or writing)?
So many, lol! I'm a huge h/c junkie - so in the MGS fandom, I'm always a sucker for a good post-tanker fic. Or anything dealing with post-mission patching up... Reivalk's wonderful Red Collar Job hits absolutely all of my buttons, there. (Highly recommended!!)
First-time sex is also another surefire winner, for me. There are SO MANY ways you can go with that - and I love the awkwardness, and the trust issues it raises, and the whole dynamic you get between the characters. I could literally read 500 different takes on this for Snake/Otacon (or any pairing I've ever enjoyed, in any fandom) and be absolutely delighted with every single one.
J:  What’s your favorite fanfic trope?  Have you written it?
There are LOTS that I reliably enjoy. 😂 I'm pretty easy to please as a reader, honestly.
The ever-popular "OH NOES this deserted cabin has only one bed!" is one I haven't written, but am always thrilled to read.
"X character in jeopardy and needing to be rescued" makes me swoon. Some of the stuff I've written incorporates this a bit, but to date I've not done a fic centered around it. (Hmmm... musing. 👀)
Also a huge fan of showering or bathing together. All that delicious, naked vulnerability on display. The intimacy. The TRUST. *fans self* I... may have done variations on this more than once, in my own fics. 😳
S: How do you feel about fan art inspired by your writing?
It is literally the best thing ever. ❤ I am absolutely hopeless at any kind of visual art, so it's a huge thrill to get to see a representation of something I've written "in the flesh", as it were. For real, it's SO INCREDIBLY COOL to see, and I love it.
It also makes me really happy to know that someone else had *feelings* about something I wrote, so much that they felt inspired to create a piece of art based on it - I mean, how absolutely awesome is that?? That's what writing is about, more than anything else.
So, yeah. Basically, it makes my entire year anytime it happens.
T: Any fanfic tropes you can’t stand?
Ah... yes and no, I suppose! "Can't stand" is such a strong way to put it - there isn't much that I really hate with a fiery passion, but there are certainly some things that aren't my cup of tea.
I don't tend to read major character death, unless I'm in a very particular mood - I definitely don't mind angst, but I prefer my angst to have some bright spots and an ending that's not unremittingly bleak.
As a rule, I'm also not a huge fan of AUs that are wildly different from the source material - so, stuff like time travel, or high school/college AUs, or body swap fics. Etc., etc. That being said, I've certainly read a few AU fics that I liked very much, so a lot depends on the specific details of the set-up.
Honestly - if I'm familiar with the author's work and I know it will be well-written, I'll give almost anything a chance.

can you do a fic rec for family oriented tcw fics? I feel like I've read everything lol
Hey anon, thanks for stopping by! I can certainly try, but I’m not sure exactly what you mean by family oriented. Just, like, generally across the genres Imma try. But I will say as I was doing this, several of these are not strictly TCWs. Some are actually outside that completely but still include the main trio and Padme as major characters so I’ve put them in here in case you’d like to give them a whirl.
My absolute #1 suggestion for under appreciated family fics:“Where I’ve Always Been” series by Gabby (Kirahsoka)
It’s not clone wars exclusive, it does build from TCW’s forwards and is both a barrissoka fic and semi-medieval AU. But you wanna talk family oriented? This series is THE BEST FUCKING THING!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone comes together and there’s a constant focus on family first. Gabby does a great job at address the ups and downs of family, and always writes relationships that are either A. Healthy as Fuck and Beautiful, or B. Unhealthy With Everyone Involved Trying. I love this series. I could probably write a whole fucking long ass post about this series lol! It’s got god damned everything, Luminara is amazing, Obi-Wan is fantastic, the original characters I would die for. The thing that might be lacking for you in here is there isn’t a lot of Padme or Anakin. There’s more Anakin than Padme, but he’s really not a main character of this series. Ahsoka, Barriss, and their daughters really become the focal point but I’m not lying when I say basically everyone fucking shows up to this one. It’s amazing and I beg you to give it the chance it deserves, it’s SUPRA, and you will understand what the hell I mean when you get in deep enough lol!
Also straight up, up front, Mylordshesacactus and alexkablob have both written some fantastic barrissoka fics that often also have a focus on family (looking at you Brave AU and Beauty and the Beast AU). If you haven’t looked at their stuff, and don’t mind the barrissoka, I think their works are fantastic!
NOW ONTO THE REST OF THE RECS
“Stuck in the Middle With You” by victoria_p (musesfool)  is a fucking delight of the trio having to share a bed platonicly (or however that’s spelled ig??). It’s got great humor and the way the three of them are just so well written is excellent. I love re-reading this one!
"Sometimes a family is a cultural anthropologist, a PoliSci PhD, a snippy sophomore, a golden cat, a Snorkie, and a guy who just wants to build a really smart robot” by all these lovelies: bessyboo, cantarina, exmanhater, forzandopod, heartequals (savvygambols), Opalsong, reena_jenkins, sophinisba, theleanansidhe!!! This is actually a pod fic/audio book, but I have trouble listening to stories so I am SO glad they included a transcript. This shit is gold! It’s sweet, it’s funny, it’s ridiculous. Anakin and Ahsoka run a youtube channel for “Waffle or Waffle Not!” where they pour various things into a waffle iron to see what works. Padme and Obi-Wan show up too, as it is obianidala. I know that’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but I love this fic and the dynamics between everyone.
“The Living Force” by mathelode (engmaresh) is quick look at Anakin teaching Ahsoka how to choose insects and bugs to eat. There’s some crude humor (barf jokes mostly) but I do like the way Anakin and Ahsoka interact!
“Of Love and Family” by Ferith12 is exactly what is says on the tin. All about Ahsoka and the family she finds along the way.
“Saw The Waves But Not The Tides” by Meiloorun  is a bit dialogue heavy but focuses on Anakin and Rex talking about war and family when they get a transmission from Mandalore. It’s a really nice fic to me, feels cozy!
“Little One” by Fawkes_Rinzler  is a great Plo Koon & Ahsoka Tano fic about sharing a language together. They’re family and this is the hill I will DIE ON.
Parts 3-5 of the “Pesky Birthday Gifts” by peskylilcritterare short and sweet little slice of life fics that aren’t explicitly family oriented but I read then that way. It’s totally possible the rest of the series is great too, I just haven’t had as much interest to read them/look at them (some of it is fan art I think).
I know this is not a TCW only fic recs, but! I swear my stand by these days, “Of Queens, Knights, and Pawns” and “Shifting Sands” are both fantastic Leia centered fics by chancecraz! There’s a lot of focus on what makes family, and family relationships/importance in both of them so I’d highly recommend them. They are VERY long, and there is plenty of drama and angst inside so it’s not family in that fluffy happy fam way all the time. Vader, Obi-Wan, and Ahsoka are all major players, as is Rex. But it /is/ more OG and Rebels than TCW. Still I’d say give them a read!
The “Jedi Shmi AU” series by MirandaTam covers more than just TCW, but a lot of it does take place during that time frame. There’s some great Tatooine culture building in the series and I really love the way the characters are imagined in this AU. “Shwiya Root Soap” by sharkcar is a great look at the dynamic between Obi-Wan, Anakin, Ahsoka, and Padme. It’s a relaxed feeling fic to me. No high angst drama, and a lot of really nice long hold points with characters working through a lot. There’s still some action and romance etc, so it’s not sedate. A well balanced one I think! It is 1st person PoV which I know can throw some folks off but I think it’s fantastic.“The Light You Leave Behind” by laventadorn is a post Ahsoka leaving the order fic, and did in large part plant the seeds of Padme Says No, which exploded after I saw a post here on tumblr that was *mwah*. It is unfinished with the last update in 2016, I still rec it! It’s got a good mix of things going on genre wise, and I love the way Padme was written in this one.
The whole “b sides (SW lawyer AU)” by triviaseesaw (ladydaredevil)  kicks ASS. It is a daredevil AU but you don’t have to know anything about that to enjoy it. I also really like that this one is multiple SW fandom friendly. There are stories focusing on prequels, og, and sequels, as well as the animated series but you can sort of pick and choose which ones you want to actually follow. There’s fluff, drama, angst, the whole nine yards dude. There’s a lot of focus on what is family and how to connect with one another. It is vaderkin status tho so just a heads up!Okay, look, “good opinion once lost”  also by triviaseesaw (ladydaredevil) isn’t completely a family oriented fic, it is a barrissoka fic. But there is still family stuff involved! It is a Pride and Prejudice AU, and while I will admit I never got into P&P, I love this story and I had to rec it
Alright, I need to just rec all of triviaseesaw (ladydaredevil)’s stuff. While some of it is more romance focused, almost everything still includes a good cast of people in really unique and fun AU’s and settings. This is probably not what you’re look for but I realized I was gonna rec more of their work and so here’s the link.“all the words you do not speak” listed via orphan_account, is not a happy family fic. It is hurt/comfort post Rako Hardeen, but it focuses on the Trio and their bonds so I think it would still work out.
The “Circle ‘round the Sun” by risinggreatness is one that I remember loving. I went nuts every time I saw that series name pop up in my emails as updated. But I will also be honest, it’s got so many entries that it’s all become a mush of “oh HELL yeah” in my head. Like, I wanna go feral over the characters and relations but I can’t explain why. I do know that it deals across a lot of times and relationships which is part of why I liked it, but it is focused on TCW.

ʀᴏʏᴀʟ ᴀᴘᴀᴛʜʏ | ʟᴇᴠɪ ᴀᴄᴋᴇʀᴍᴀɴ (x fem! reader)
Warnings: trauma, death, monarchy, abuse of power (?)
Summery: After her father's death, the new queen is sworn in. Her new personal knight is assigned to guard her at nighttime. Quickly she learns he is not just any night, nor is she just any queen.
[A/N]: I really hate the damsel in destress type queen/knight stories, so I tried to change up the arch type a little. fantasy au :) sorry if it felt rushed!

[R O Y A L A P A T H Y]
"The death of King (D/N) will forever be a greatest tragedy to our kingdom," My fathers best friend, who was also the earl, had been lecturing for what felt like sentinels by now. Sorcerer Hanji Zoe was at their witts end by now, clearly bored. I also tapped my food below the ballgown I'd been fitted and forced into this morning.
"I have new hope in the shadowing horizon of his beloved daughter, she will lead us to many victories. Let's hope the dragon guards love her!" He clinked the tall tankard with the barbarian man next to him, finalizing the speech. Many people laughed in fancy, but all I found myself wanting to do was visit the garden.
I excused myself, standing up and begging the well known path to the sanctuary. My heels clicked across the cobblestone like a smooth stone on a lake top, all the way until I had been met with the large doors. Built by the Elvish and designed by my mother, the garden was the most sacred room in the kingdom.
Guarded by two large stone gargoyles, watched over by the eye of luck, and cursed beyond point of entry if not completing the ritual. I took two fingers on each hand, palating the tongue of both gargoyle. Then, the eye above the door that was imprinted into the stone began to glow. "Who are you here under?" The entity I spoke frequently to requested. "(F/N) (L/N)." I responded, fingers still on the tounges. "Ah, the soon to be queen. You may enter."
The doors cascaded open, revealing the garden of most beautiful stature. Reds, greens, blues, purples- as far as the eye could see. I only wish I could stay, actually enter and be here. Duty called below, though. The bells were ringing and it was almost evening. The doors closed at lack of entry when I walked away.
Arriving in the meeting room was my next step. Many people of all races and stature were sitting around the discussion table, all watching me as soon as I entered. "Your majesty," The small frog woman, Ymir, hopped from her seat over to me. I raised my brow, indicating her to answer. "We have someone for you to meet, and hopefully show around if you would be so kind." Her voice was rough, you could tell she was of frog decent from a mile away. "Okay."
The room went silent as I turned to face the door, red dress swaying round. The fact attire was picked by my mothers personal designer, Historia. A sweet lady, but boy did she enjoy flowy gowns. The doors opened, revealing two men. One, a tall blonde man, and the next a shorter raven haired man. His gaze was cold, piercing even. "Your grace," The tall one spoke, his voice was deep and unforgiving. Like he'd seen a thousand lifetimes. "I am here to serve you your personal knight, who will serve you endlessly till death."
I looked over to the onyx haired man, who looked as if he was being tortured. "I appreciate your offer so much, thank you sir..?" He looked to me, kneeling on one knee and holding his hand to his heart for all to see. "Erwin. This is sir Levi, your guard." I nodded, walking up to the kneeling men and pressing a light hand on both of their shoulders. "Thank you, you are dismissed."
As the day continued I grew very weary, ready for any point of sleep I could obtain. Before the death if my father, every night I would stop by the sorcerers library. Instead I opted to go to my room this night, absolutely restless from the long and treacherous day. Upon arrival of my room, though, the same man from earlier stood flat out in front of it.
"You're Levi, correct?" I asked, looking into his tone cold eyes. They were so brash, clearly full of pained stories of a lifetime. "Yes, my queen." He moved aside. "You don't have to call me that. You can call me (F/N), and, come inside. It's cold in the halls." His blush was clear as day, nevertheless he followed me as told. I pointed to an empty plush bench for him to take a seat on.
"So, Levi, tell me about your life." I said, walking into my restroom to peel off the dress and change into my nightwear. He hesitated for a moment, clear by the cough let out. "Well, I was raised in a brothel. My mother worked as a lady of the night. She passed at a very young age, my uncle- who was also a knight- taking me in. He would soon leave, too, making me fend for myself. It's tragic and pitiful, I know, but it taught me many things."
"It's not pitiful." I returned changed with my hair graciously braided down to one side, smiling at the man before me. He was handsome, I had to admit. Dark hair offsetting his pale skin in all the right ways, rough appearance only making him that much more attractive. "If anything, you're nobel." He looked up, setting his sword aside, the sighing. "I suppose so. I always wondered what it would be like to guard a queen," He drifted off, eyeing the walls. "I always thought they'd be cold and distant, but it paid well so I didn't mind to take the job. You aren't like that."
I smiled. "Glad you think so, sir Levi. I think you're one of the most brave, and handsome damned men to walk these halls. I bid you a safe night, hope to see you in the morning." I then climbed under the large canopy that cascaded over my bed. It was made of the finest material, soft and warm. The night was cold, leaving me tossing and turning into the daylight unlike I had wanted.
Rising up from my half-slumber, I was met with the vision of Levi sitting exactly how he was before, restless, staring at the wall again. I didn't believe this was lazy- so I rose from my bed and put on the large robe that had been set aside by my maids. "Morn, Levi. How was your night?" I asked, walking over to him. He didn't respond, eyebags heavily present.
I walked closer, lightly touching his scarred face with my soft hand. He was so cold. I took off the robe, laying it over his shoulders. "What's..what are you going my lady?" He asked, thumbing the material that was new on his body. I smiled, standing up. "You were cold. Where do you live?" I asked, undoing the braid in my hair.
He hesitated as he did the night before, only to look away once more. "A- um, hut. Down in the village. I live in it by myself." He proclaimed, rising from his seat. I nodded, "Sleep in my quarters for the day. I insist. The bed is nice and I will have maids deliver a warm outfit to my door." His eyes darted to me, "You can't be serious- I'm not-"
My hand wavered in front of him. "I insist. Keep the bed warm for me, would you?" He nodded. I took the robe, tying it around myself once more. Levi ridded himself of the metal plates, leaving me to see just how muscular he really is. I avoided it, going to my dressing room where all of my dressing ladies already were.
The day passed as before, but this time I had been able to go the library, wanting to give the knight more time to rest up. The bookshelves were dusty, place so empty you would think no one works here.
"Hello? Hanji?" I asked, looking around. Noises came loudly from the behind the counter, making me back away. They were inconspicuous, that was, until the person stood from behind. An Elvin boy named Armin my tropes had picked up. He'd been stranded, left for dead on a battle field. "Oh, hello Armin!" I smiled, lying the book I had picked up on the counter.
"Hello my lady! How are you?" He asked, ears fluttering. How cute. "I'm okay! I've gotten a new knight, I left him to rest in my room for the day." Armin looked at me in a questioning manner. "And his name?" I rested my elbow on the table, looking over to the door through which I had came. "Levi-"
"Levi Ackerman?" He asked, clearly disheveled. I nodded, eyebrow arching as if to question him. "He's a famous knight! So smart and strong. They say during his last battle he suffered life threatening injuries, though, making him tired and worn." Armin gushed, smiling brightly and blushing as I listened.
When returning to my room, he was still asleep. I didn't think I needed him for the night; so I slipped into my dressing room and changed into another beautiful nightgown. Braiding my hair once more, I returned into my room to find him still sleeping. I remembered what Armin had said. He sustained horrible injuries, scars were probably all over his body. I couldn't imagine. Lifting up the edge of the curtain like material, I found him in the clothes my ladies had brought for him. He looked nice, and calm.
Instead of waking him up- interrupting him from his sleep, I decided to sleep next to him. Surely he wouldn't mind if I stayed a distance away, and slept under a different duvet. As I slipped in, his warmth had consumed the whole bed. It was warm in places he hadn't even been in. I tried to rest easy, only being woken up once when he accidentally kicked me; but I didn't mind.
The next morning I would wake up with him completely wrapped around me. His leg over both of my own, his arms around my waist and chest. This made me laugh, pushing his arm around a little to wake up. As I did, his entire body jolted in a gasp. "Where am I? (F/N)? What time of day is it?" He asked, then analyzing how close he was to me. "You slept with- me? I LEFT YOU ALONE?" I chuckled at his worries, him trying to get out of the bed. Swiftly, I gently grabbed his wrist. "Levi, don't worry about it. Just, rest, okay? You've done enough."
Reluctantly, he nodded. I pushed my hands into his hair as he scooted back into me to be the little spoon.

for the fanfic writer meme: TUX
My brain: Ooh, like a tuxedo!
Me: OK, yes, technically true, thank you brain.
T: Any fanfic tropes you can’t stand?
Never liked mpreg. It's hard to make it work for a start, and also I've got a kid so the idea of pregnancy/having kids is not escapism for me. I'd also say I'm not into furry stuff but there was a recent animal transformation fic that was done so well I ended up reading the whole thing with absolute delight, so these things can depend on how they're executed. Also, I'd never discount a trope entirely just cos I'm not into it.
Not a trope, but what I really don't enjoy is when characterisation is ignored. But even that, like...it's your story. If what you want is to just make people who look like these characters kiss, then fill your boots. You're putting your time and energy into producing content for free, and if I don't like it that's my problem.
U: Is there a pairing you would like to write, but haven’t tried yet?
I THINK I'm so far pretty much set in the Taskmaster fandom. I'd happily read something with Morgana in, but I can't write m/f or f/f stories for some reason.
I've always wanted to write a bit about Green Wing (UK sitcom), with Guy and Mac as the pairing. For people who don't know the show, they've got this nice dynamic where Guy is a petulant, boastful manwhore and Mac is this beautiful sweet person but also very quick-witted and takes none of Guy's shit. They're obviously very good mates but they snipe at each other and try to one-up each other all the time.
X: How would you categorize your fanfic reading?  Are you a voracious reader?  Do you carefully pick and choose?  Something in between?
It's quite a small fandom so I'll definitely check out every new story that appears under the Taskmaster heading or under Off Menu/Just Puddings (although there's not much in the latter category these days). I also read things here and there in other fandoms, mostly smut because I'm a philistine.

He couldn't breathe.
Fluorescent lights hummed, seeming far too loud around him. Was this how Lucy felt when she got into the Lifeboat? How did she do it? The walls seemed to be closing in on him, suffocating him, trapping him in the tiny bunker washroom, with nothing but his own reflection for company.
(His reflection. Not his father's. Right? But the bunker always seemed so dark, the lights were flickering and weak, and in the shadows, he could almost see the man who broke him.)
He was fine. Not broken. Not damaged. He drove the truck into the lake, and he was fine.
“I'm fine,” he snapped, the words echoing in the nearly empty room. Taunting him. (Even his voice was the same, these days.) “I'm not him. Okay? I'm fine. I'm-” His words were lost in a growl as he struck, punching the wall in front of him, throwing every ounce of frustration into the action.
“Wyatt?” The door opened, just a crack, and Lucy's soft voice floated through. He didn't-couldn't-look.
“Yeah?” His hand throbbed, and he glanced down, wincing. His knuckles were cracked and bloody.
“Are you-” She hesitated. “Are you okay?” Unsure. Cautious. It wasn't right. That wasn't Lucy. She wasn't cautious or unsure of anything. (Until him. He messed that up, messed her up, just like he messed everything up. Jessica. Jiya. Rufus. What on earth was he going to do with a kid?)
“I'm-” Fine, he tried to say, but the word stuck in his throat. He ordered his brain to force it out, but it just wouldn't come. “I'm-”
Footsteps. She was coming toward him, slow but steady. “Wyatt?” He couldn't answer. Her hand rested on his arm, tentatively, and he absently noted that it was the first time she'd touched him since that horrifying day, when he'd been so angry and afraid that he'd caught her in a strike meant for Flynn. He could hardly stand to think of it. He could still see her, in his mind's eye, her hand flying to her mouth, tears springing up in her eyes.
A soft gasp distracted him from his thoughts, and he turned his attention back to Lucy. Her gaze was fixed on his hands, soft and horrified. “What happened?”
Suddenly ashamed, he pulled away. “It was nothing. I was just… Being stupid. It's stupid. Don't worry about it.” He needed to get out of there. Where he was going to go, he wasn't sure, because everywhere he turned, there were traces of Jessica, or darting glances from betrayed teammates, but he couldn't stay there anymore, couldn't stand her looking at him with such gentle concern. “I need to-”
“Wait.” Quiet, but firm. Unyielding. (Now, that sounded more like Lucy.) “Let me…” She maneuvered around him, as he stood frozen, unable to refuse her.
Within seconds, she had a warm, wet rag, and was reaching for his hands. For just a brief second, she hesitated, and he could practically feel the memories tugging at her, just as they tugged at him, but then she swallowed hard, and set to work. Slowly, with impossible care, she ran the rag over each knuckle, never applying too much pressure, just enough to rinse away the blood.
He couldn't find his voice, so he simply watched, mouth half-open, grasping for words that weren't there.
With the work of cleaning done, she moved on to a small bottle of ointment, dipping her fingers in, and applying it to the damaged skin. It was cold, and he couldn't help but flinch in surprise. “Sorry,” she murmured, finishing up the last knuckle.
His racing heart had calmed a little, and he took a breath, shaking his head. “‘s fine.” How did she do it? How could she calm him down when the entire world seemed to be spinning out of control? (And why would she, after the things he'd done?)
She didn't respond, but started rifling through the cabinets again, searching for something else.
Without quite meaning to, he spoke.
“I'm going to have a kid.”
She stilled for a brief moment, before continuing, responding in a deceptively light tone. “I know.”
Right. Of course she did. Of course she knew that he got his wife pregnant, while she was right down the hall. This whole bunker thing didn't really allow for healthy breakups, did it? “I don't-Lucy, you know what my dad was like. I can't just-” He groaned, shutting his eyes tightly. “I don't know how to be a dad.”
A soft pressure on his hand distracted him, and he opened his eyes to see her wrapping it in gauze. “You don't have to-” He started, but she shook her head warningly, and he didn't push. The last thing he wanted to do was tell her what to do-again-so he just went silent.
At length, she spoke. “I think you'll be a great dad.” Her voice was so quiet, he could barely hear her, but the words settled in his soul, nonetheless.
“I'm just… So scared I'm going to hurt them.” The images wouldn't leave his mind. Him getting a little too angry. Lashing out. His child-
“You won't,” she said firmly, tucking the gauze in place. Nodding in satisfaction at her work, she stepped back, looking him up and down. “You’re not your father, Wyatt. You don't have to be like him.”
He wanted to believe her, wanted it badly, but uncertainty clawed at him, and he reached out, grabbing the sink in front of him to steady himself. “How? How do I keep from becoming… That?” He shuddered a little at the thought.
There was an odd note to her voice when she answered. “You look at everything your father did that hurt you, and you make sure to never do that to anyone else. Especially your kid.” Her eyes were steely and determined, and he wasn’t quite sure she was talking about him. “You don't let him define you. And…” She faltered. “If you really want to know about being a father…” He realized where this was going a half-second before she said it. “Maybe you should talk to Flynn.”
“Absolutely not,” He answered automatically, and she scoffed.
“He's not so bad, you know? And he's been a lifesaver since he got out of prison. Literally.”
There was some truth to that, of course. Flynn had been more than picking up his slack during the entire Jessica debacle, and it hadn't escaped Wyatt's notice. Honestly, maybe that was the worst of it: The man who had hurt them all was now being weirdly reliable, and even trustworthy. Maybe he was waiting for the other shoe to drop.
But the thought of going to him, of asking him for parenting advice, of all things… It was humiliating. “Maybe,” he allowed, and she eyed him skeptically, but didn't push.
“Good.” She gave him a final once-over, as if looking for any other damage, before turning to go.
‘You look at everything your father did you hurt you, and you make sure to never do that to anyone else.’
What had his father done? He'd called him horrible things, locked him in the trunk of a car, beaten him within an inch of his life…. And never even apologized.
Suddenly determined, he cleared his throat. “Lucy?” She hesitated, and he took a breath. All this time, and he hadn't apologized since that first day, hadn't even been able to find the words for it. How do you apologize for breaking someone's heart when you were supposed to protect it? But he knew it was time. “I'm sorry.”
She started to shake her head, brushing him off, but he stood his ground. “I need to say this. Ever since Jessica came back, the only thing I've done is hurt you.” His gaze darted to a bruise near her lip. Probably from Emma, but it could have just as easily come from him. “Believe me, that's the last thing I ever wanted to do. So I'm going to try to do better. But if I do something stupid again…” Oh, he was gonna regret this. “Tell Flynn he can punch me.”
A startled laugh slipped from her lips. (And oh, that felt good. Being the one to make her laugh-really laugh-again? He loved it.) “Thank you, Wyatt. Really.” She hesitated. Smiled at him, small but sincere. “You're a good man.”
It was utterly untrue, and he knew it, but something in the conviction of her words made him want to believe it, nonetheless. He wanted to wrap himself up in them, to play them on repeat in his head until they drowned out his father's voice, angry and destructive.
Instead, he took a breath, and looked up at the mirror. His own reflection stared back, not a ghost of a man long gone, and he exhaled, a hint of a smile flickering across his face.
For the first time in ages, he was calm.
