A few notes before I start: Sorry about the white backgrounds, that’s how they showed up and I didn’t know how to fix them. Also, these summaries are going to be a lot shorter than they have in my last few posts just since there are so many characters. Anyway, let’s begin.
Literally godly, this should be your regular outfit -
Rantaro Amami - I shouldn’t have to be the first person to point out to you that he’s hot. Not to mention that the pink bottoms work wonders with his hair.
Nagito Komaeda - Hhhhhhhh
Byakuya Togami - I will admit, I’m basing this position more off of his appearance in the promo art. I don’t know how much I like this look on his regular sprite, but he’s so hot in that promo art, you don’t even know.
Show me who picked this out for you so I can thank them -
Sayaka Maizono - SHE LOOKS SO CUTE OML. I’d go through each detail, but in short: everything.
Gundham Tanaka - Shirtless Gundham, what more can I say?
Ibuki Mioda - I absolutely adore how her swimsuit doesn’t just go with her hair, but matches it. Perfection.
Korekiyo Shinguji - When the trailer first dropped and I saw the screen with all of the released swimsuits, I immediately started scanning to see if they put Korekiyo in a wetsuit and by God, they did.
Shuichi Saihara - He looks more tired than usual, but I just have a gut feeling his other sprites will look better.
Mondo Owada - I probably should’ve put him in standard, but he looks so good without a shirt on, I couldn’t possibly.
Kaito Momota - Space shorts.
Sakura Ogami - She was actually going to be somewhere in the first tier originally, but I just can’t put her there because of the color. I probably should’ve put her down with the other people with this problem (Uhhh... okay... I guess) but I couldn’t bear to.
Cute!/Cool! -
Chihiro Fujisaki - a;lskdfh;adskfijshdkjc He’s so cute, someone help. I’m drowning in cute. He looks so excited to be wearing it, too. I think this was the best choice they could’ve gone with to not give him something too masculine or feminine, fantastic choice.
Leon Kuwata - This category was originally just going to be “Cute!” but his bottoms looked so cool, I had to put him up here.
Toko Fukawa - Not only does her swimsuit look good on her, but I love the way that they designed her and Genocide Jack to be wearing the same swimsuit in different styles. Super cool.
Tenko Chabashira - I think this was one of the only palette swaps that I actually liked. There are probably a few other swaps that I didn’t even notice, but I like this one specifically because of the color swap. She looks great in pink.
Kyoko Kirigiri - I think I would’ve normally put her in standard, but her gloves are just too cool.
Mukuro Ikusaba - Love the colors and love the pattern. Simple, yet great.
Mahiru Koizumi - Mahiru, your camera. You can’t take that in the water. Mahiru- MAHIRU
Akane Owari - This is actually the swimsuit she wore during chapter 2 in the original game and I thought she looked great both times.
Chiaki Nanami - Same as Akane, so there’s not really any reason for either one to be higher or lower than the other. Peko would be up here too, but it’s really basic.
Gonta Gokuhara - I just really like the pattern and also that he’s still carrying the thing over his shoulder. It’s really weird who got to keep accessories and who didn’t, but we’ll get there.
Masaru Daimon - He just looks so cool in his shorts, I’m sure he’s excited to have them.
Shirokuma - Despite how I may feel about Shirokuma, this is a very cute outfit for them.
Standard -
Kaede Akamatsu - Definitely the best-looking of the protagonists, even if Shuichi’s higher. He’s only higher because I have faith that his faults are because of the sprite choice. If I’m wrong, sue me.
Kirumi Tojo - This is another instance of getting to keep the accessories. She still has her headband on. Why?? It wasn’t crucial to her character or anything. I get that Kyoko has backstory reasons and Gonta and Mahiru’s personalities revolve around their items, but why Kirumi? She had other things that defined her better.
Peko Pekoyama - Like I said before, basic and kinda bland. She still looks good, though.
Fuyuhiko Kuzuryuu - He actually gained an accessory. Why does he have a necklace now? His shorts are nice, though.
Hajime Hinata - O r a n g. Or maybe red.
Maki Harukawa - Basic swimsuit, no color change whatsoever. A nice swimsuit, but nothing special.
Genocide Jack - Everything I said before about Toko’s swimsuit still applies, Genocide Jack’s is just way more boring.
Aoi Asahina - A good color swap, but not good enough to make up for her basic swimsuit.
Monomi - I like that they put her in a one-piece. Very cute. Wish they would do that all the time...
Monaca Towa - I just noticed that she is the only character other than Monomi to wear a one-piece. Why??
Makoto Naegi - The most basic swimsuit imaginable combined with his regular color scheme and pattern.
Hiroko Hagakure - I think I like that she kept her jacket? Maybe? It’s a different jacket, but it still counts.
Nagisa Shingetsu - Black and white bottoms. Okay. You do you, buddy.
Imposter - It’s fine. It’s just fine.
Izuru - I like that they gave him a separate swimsuit from Hajime, but why is it so bland and boring?
I love you, so I’ll forgive it -
Sonia Nevermind - She actually looks great and is so cute. So cute that she’d be in the top tier if not for one crucial fact. If you’ll notice, I mentioned earlier that Peko, Chiaki, and Akane are all wearing the same swimsuit here that they had worn in the original second game. However, there’s another character that appears in the scene I’m talking about that is wearing a different outfit than they are here. That charcter is Sonia, who was seen in a wetsuit in the original game. It was thrown off as a joke, but I still can’t stop thinking about how pretty she looked in that wetsuit. It’s literally my profile picture for my main blog, that’s how pretty she is wearing it. I’m mad because they’re basically agreeing that she didn’t look pretty/sexy in the wetsuit when that couldn’t be more wrong.
Celestia Ludenberg - I literally just wish she was wearing a one-piece, it can be the same style and everything. Honestly a missed opportunity.
Kotoko Utsugi - It’s just a weird pattern. Love the colors, though.
K1-B0 - I’d be lying if I said I didn’t love the floaty, but he still deserves more respect.
Miu Iruma - The pattern is... fitting... but still bad.
Kiyotaka Ishimaru - Taka... sweetie... why...?
Uhhh... okay... I guess -
Angie Yonaga - I like the look, but it’s exactly what she usually wears just without the jacket. Does that mean that she’s always wearing a swimsuit? Why? Even Asahina didn’t wear a swimsuit as her regular outfit.
Kazuichi Soda - I definitely like this color better than the piss yellow he used to have, but it’s still not great. I like that he got to keep his little logo thing, but I’m confused as to why he gets to keep his hat. It’s just like Kirumi keeping her headpiece. I’m fine with it in this case, but why him and not...? Well, we’ll get there.
Komaru Naegi - A lot of the outfits in this tier are just because I like the look and not the color scheme, including Komaru. Yellow’s just an odd fit for the shade of green that her hair is.
Tsumugi Shirogane - The same as Komaru. Nice style, but the yellow and blue clash for me.
Hiyoko Saionji - Surprise surprise, it’s the same thing. I think the style really fits her, but I hate the yellow and green. Not into it.
Junko Enoshima - Ok, we’re out of the color scheme repetition. I don’t know why she’s wearing a tanktop. It just looks a little off, but I can’t place why. I don’t know why she isn’t just wearing the regular swimsuit like she was in the promo art. If she was, I’d probably put her in Standard.
Yasuhiro Hagakure - I’ll be honest, I didn’t notice the alien pattern on his shorts until after I had already downloaded the picture and closed out of the tier list tab. If I had noticed before, I’d probably put him in Cute!/Cool! but I still don’t really like the color scheme. Fitting, but not pleasing.
Kurokuma - The only reason he’s above Kokichi is because he has a water gun and I think that’s cute.
Kokichi Oma - Literally just gut instinct. I like that he kept his checkered pattern and purple color scheme. Something just told me he should be down here.
Monokuma - It just feels wrong, but I can’t place why, same as Kokichi.
Teruteru Hanamura - I probably would’ve liked his outfit better if his shirt was buttoned up at least a little bit. Now that I think about it, Mondo should’ve had one of these, too.
Who signed off on this? -
Usami - WHY IS SHE IN A BIKINI??? SHE’S A STUFFED RABBIT.
Nekomaru Nidai - I can absolutely see him picking this swimsuit to wear, but that doesn’t mean I like it.
Mikan Tsumiki - You know why she’s here.
God no. I hate it -
Ryoma Hoshi - So Mahiru gets to keep her camera, Kirumi gets to keep her headpiece, and Kazuichi gets to keep his hat.. but Ryoma doesn’t get anything? I genuinely had to take a second to figure out who this was the first time I saw him. He can’t even have a sunhat or anything? That would’ve been cute.
Himiko Yumeno - I can’t imagine a world in which she would choose this swimsuit for herself. The color is off, the style is off, I could much more easily see her wearing something similar to Monaca’s swimsuit. Basically, just let some of the girls wear one-pieces. They don’t all have to be in bikinis.
Jataro Kemuri - The pattern. I can’t even stand to look at it long enough to figure out what it is.
Hifumi Yamada - It did take me a second to figure out what his swimsuit was, but as soon as I did, he hit the bottom of the list. Again, it’s definitely fitting, but I still hate it.

Gundham x male!reader
Warnings: Death
Summary: Ya trying to get a date with Gundham <3
Sunflower Seeds
This takes place after the second class trial
You have had your eye on Gundham since you've all arrived at the island. Ever since the free times you've had, you always spent them with Gundham. If not Gunham, then Kazuichi, which made Kazuichi a bit upset since all I did was talk about Gundham, and Kazuichi wasn't really fond of him. Since the killings have started to happen, you've only grown closer to him and his 'Dark Devas of Destruction'. This wasn't the best for your heart, many times you thought it would explode when you were close to Gundham.
You see, you'd love to confess to Gundham, but you weren't entirely sure if he was into guys even in the slightest. You could just walk up to him and ask "Hey are you gay? Bi maybe?", but that is too straightforward and weird. So you settled on just keeping these feelings to yourself and just being a close friend of his. That is until Chiaki caught on to me.
It was a cool morning and everyone was either waking up or already heading to the restaurant. You had barely got out of your cottage before Chiaki got in your face.
"Hey, (Y/N). Can I ask you something? In private...", you hated that term, 'in private'. It usually meant that something bad was going to happen, but you trusted that Chiaki wouldn't say or do anything weird.
"Uhm... Sure. Come in" I moved aside so Chiaki could enter. She immediately cornered me. "Do you like Gundham?" She seemed so confident in the question. I was shocked and frozen, I studdered before I even got out a comprehensive sentence. "Whawhawahaa?! How... How did you know? Am I that obvious..?" She backed off with a soft smile. "No, it took me a while to figure it out. Your really good at hiding your romantic feelings. Anyway, Akane and I want to help you and Gundham get together."
"Thanks, Chiaki, but how are you two gonna do that??" There's no way that they could set us up, right? Dumb question. "Akane already found out Gundham is bisexual, but he only likes people he's known for a while and is close to, so you definitely have a chance with him. All I need to do now is convince him to go to the beach with you." What "Wait wait wait, how did you find out he's bi?" "Akane just asked and he was fine with answering" Of course they just asked.
"We can have you and Gundham meeting up at night and Akane and I could set up some lights in the sand and a picnic" Chiaki looked up as she was thinking out loud. "But what about Monomuka? We aren't allowed to be out of the hotel resort after 10 pm." She just smiled, "I'll appeal. He enjoys teen romance so there's a good chance that he'll let us all be out after the curfew", "How do you know he likes teen rom-", "That's not important right now, meet with Gundham at the beach around 10:30 pm." She seemed so determined. I agreed and we both made our way to the restaurant together
Of course, we were a little late. Gundham was the first to notice us, I think he was staring at the door... "The rest of the mortals are here." God his voice was hot. Kazuichi looked over at us "Finally! Gundham and Akane were about to go looking for you guys!" Man, did we take that long? oh. my. god. What the FUCK is that? I was about to say something before I saw this hideous tribute to our recently deceased friend, Mahiru. I was going to say something rude about it before Hajime grabbed my attention. He was signaling for me to be nice about it and that Hiyoko made it. I spoke with an unsure voice "Wooww that looks so coolll. Whoever made that is verryyy talented.". Hiyoko seemed to be satisfied with it. Good because that's all I got in me.
I made my way over to a table so I can eat. Gundham glanced over at me and continued to eat at his own table. It was a quiet morning, everyone must have still been tired. After we had all finished and left, I went to the supermarket to get some sunflower seeds for Gundham. Yesterday he helped me with a cow attack at the barn, so I wanna try to pay him back. It was a good thing he was looking for me anyway.
I still had some free time after I came back from getting the sunflower seeds. I decided to look for Gundham since I knew he was free most of the time. When I finally found him he was talking with Chiaki and Akane at Jaberwok Park, they must be talking to him about going to the beach with me. That also means I need to find someone else to talk to, I get really bored if I'm by myself for too long. I could either look for Kazuichi and look for things he can take apart or just go annoy Fuyuhiko. I'll look for Kazu, I don't feel like hearing boss baby yell at me.
I walked to the 3rd island and was on my way to Electric Ave. since that's become Kazu's new hangout. When I got there he was already digging around looking for anything to fidget with. Kazu is a nervous guy, so I understand if he wants something to with his hands constantly.
"Hey, Kazo! What 'cha lookin for today?" I asked as I leaned over his shoulder to see what he's grabbing. "Anything really. Although it would be nice to find something to corrode the cameras that Monokuma put everywhere. Hey, have you seen some yellow wires anywhere?" He stopped whatever he was doing to look at me. "No, but I think I saw some orange ones by the old game consoles", I pointed to the pile not too far away from me. "No no no, It has to be yellow, orange won't work with my current project." He went back to rummaging. "What are you working on?" I turned my head to the side, it's a bad habit. "I'm trying to make a phone, so we can call someone or something. At least be able to play some mobile games so I'm not so bored all the time." He was still digging around.
"Ok then, see ya! I'm gonna go find Chiaki or Akane, whoever comes first." I said turning away. All I heard was a very faint 'bye' from Kazuichi, he probably wasn't listening. Oh well, at least he said bye. I walked back to the resort where our cottages are. I must have lost at least 30 pounds from all the walking between islands. As I was walking past the farm, I saw Akane. I walked up to her to ask about Gundham and if he was going to the beach. "Heyyyy Akaneeee!" I tried to strike up a conversation since I'm not very good at it. "Oh, what's up (Y/N)?" She definitely knows how to match someones energy. "Sooo what did Gundham say?" I asked, slightly bouncing from excitement. Akane just deadpans "What?". "About the beach! What did Gundham say about going to the beach with me?". "OOOHHH, he said he'll go with ya, but you have to not force him to swim with you. Something about him poisoning the water from his skin? I don't really know, I wasn't really listening". "Oh, that's fine! I won't force him!" I beamed.
"By the way, he said he wants to talk to you about something. He's at his cottage if you wanna talk to him right now." Akane seemed to not be interested in anything she's saying. She probably agreed to help Chiaki only because she was bored. "OK! Thank you, byeee!" I turned around and hightailed out of the barn.
As I was making my way towards the resort gate, I heard Sonia scream at the supermarket. I left the gates and started booking towards the market. When I finally got there, I didn't see her anywhere. I started calling out to her and poking around every crevice of the store. When I finally found her, she was just standing in the back, perfectly fine from what I could see. "Sonia oh my god! What happened? I heard you scream, are you ok?" I was panting from the running and looking. She looked at me with a pang of guilt in her eyes. "I am sorry for scaring you (Y/N), but thank you for taking the time to find me." She looked down at her shoes. "Well yea of course, but why did you scream?" I tilted my head to the side again. "I am terribly sorry (Y/N), but I have a kingdom to lead and I need to get back, I'm sure you understand. Right?" She slowly started walking towards me. I saw a screwdriver in her hand, It looks like....Kazuichi's! How did she even get his screwdriver? Oh what am I thinking, she probably just asked for it while batting her lashes and Kazuichi just gave it to her.
I started to walk backward until I was fully against the door. I quickly started to feel for a handle and scrambled out, back to the isles. As I was running towards the door, I felt a stabbing pain at the back of my head. After, my body felt numb, as if I couldn't control it. I fell. The last thing I heard was the door opening, it was Gundham. "Hello? I heard a scream so- (Y/N)!!" I really hope he finds the sunflower seeds in my pocket. At least the last thing I saw was Gundham.
Mod Jax: HAH, yall probably thought you were gonna have a nice beach date with Gundham. Foolish. You don't get to have a happy ending. Anyway, this took a while ahaha. MAYbe I'll make a version where ya survive and get yer beach date, maybe I won't, idk yet. BUUUUT there is a 90% that I make a part 2 where it's the trial for your murder.
Todays message that ya probably need to hear
You're not responsible for someone else's mental health, fuck with yourself before you fuck with someone else

I’m sorry I couldn’t add a read more, I’ll try and figure out what went wrong!

You stood in front of the closet in your dorm anxiously, as you began reconsidering your outfit. Your nerves were eating you alive and you had to make sure that everything went smoothly during the date, or you’d never be able to get over it. As you were deciding whether or not you should change into something different, you heard a knock come from your door and began to panic.
What if you were underdressed? What if you were overdressed? What if he just didn’t like what you were wearing? “Y/n?” you heard Shoto call out from the other side of your door. You sped over to your door but paused for a second before opening the door. He smiled when he saw you and asked, “Are you ready to go?”
“I..” you started, “I don’t know, maybe I should change into something else?”
“I think you look great y/n. You always look amazing, no matter what you’re wearing,” he said, causing a fluttering feeling in your stomach. You nodded your head and walked out of your dorm, closing the door behind you. Shoto turned to you hesitantly, then reached out his hand for you to take. “Would you..um,” he cleared his throat before softly continuing, “would you like to hold hands on the way there?”
Your expression brightened, and he visibly relaxed. “I’d love to,” you said as you interlocked his fingers with your own.
~~~~~~~
As the two of you walked around the different booths, you’d noticed it was starting to get dark out. You didn’t mind, as you still had a few hours before Mr. Aizawa required you to head back to the dorms, though you were feeling a bit nervous since the two of you agreed to go on the ferris wheel together once it was dark enough to see the stars.
As you tried to stop your worries from taking over your mind, you buried your uneasiness in the sweetness of the snow cone you were holding. Meanwhile Shoto, who’d already finished his, watched as you nibbled on your treat. Feeling his gaze on you, you turned to look at him and he blushed as he got caught. “I’m sorry,” he said shyly, “you just looked so cute.”
You felt flustered at his statement, “I-.. Sho,” you began, though you cut yourself off as you saw a familiar booth behind him. Your face lit up with happiness as you gently dragged Shoto over to the game you were looking at. It was a simple soda toss, but there was an adorable Charmander plushie that you wanted to try and win.
Noticing what you set your heart on, Shoto walked up next to you, and the two of you played together, just enjoying the moment. Well, more like, you were enjoying spending the moment with Shoto playing a carnival game, and Shoto was enjoying the excitement that you were radiating as you stood next to him and tossed your rings.
The two of you continued to play until Shoto finally managed to win you the stuffed Charmander that you’d wanted. “Thank you Shoto,” you said sweetly.
He took a small step closer to you, “Of course, it wasn’t really that difficult.”
You beamed at him, “No, not just for the Charmander doll, but for going out with me tonight.”
“Oh. If anyone should be saying thank you, it should be me. So, thank you y/n, for coming to the carnival with me,” he said, before looking to the Ferris Wheel behind you, then back at you. “We still have yet to go on the Ferris Wheel,” he mentioned. He had a point too, if you got on now then you’d still have time to head to that café you were talking about a few days earlier.
“You’re right,” you said, “Let’s go!”
~~~~~~~
The two of you sat in a comfortable silence as the Ferris Wheel moved. For a moment, just being there next to each other was enough for both of you. The longer you spent with him during your date, the less nervous you began to feel. Kaminari and Ashido were right, things weren’t as different as you thought they’d be. Before you knew it, the thought of taking your relationship to the next level no longer scared you.
However, the moment was soon ruined as the Ferris Wheel came to an abrupt stop while you and Shoto were at the top. At first, you didn’t think much of it, but after staying at the top for an unusual amount of time, you were becoming concerned. As you looked out the window of the cart, you saw a few people running around the Ferris Wheel controls and the reality of what had happened quickly dawned on you. “We’re stuck up here,” you mumbled.
“Yes, it would seem like it,” Shoto responded. “Don’t worry, I’m sure everything will be fine. If anything goes wrong, I can always make a slide out of my ice for everyone on the Ferris Wheel to use to get down,” he assured you.
“Right,” you said as you tried to calm down from your shock. Deciding to distract yourself with the pretty view, you stared out the side of the cart that you were sitting in and marveled at the breathtaking sight. “It’s so beautiful!” you exclaimed in a fairly hushed voice, so that you wouldn’t disturb any of the other passengers.
“Not as beautiful as you,” Shoto said softly as you turned to look at him.
“Shoto..” you trailed off as you looked him in the eyes. Your nerves were melting away, and the moment just felt right. He moved a little closer to you. “You know, the carnival’s great and all. But there’s still one thing that we haven’t done,” you mumbled to him as you moved closer as well. The two of you were sitting across from each other, your faces being inches apart.
“I agree. It’d be a shame if we never got the chance,” he said as he leaned in. He placed one hand on your leg, and the other on your cheek.
“Yeah, it really would,”, you said as you put one hand on his shoulder, and the other on his arm. You leaned in and closed the space between the two of you, and the sparks you felt were greater than Kaminari’s quirk. The moment was perfect, and you couldn’t have asked for anything better. As you pulled away, the Ferris Wheel began moving once again.
“Oh, it would seem that everything’s been fixed, that’s great,” he said as he looked past your shoulder and out the window. He then refixed his gaze on you, and as your cart reached the bottom he asked you the words that you’d been waiting for, for the past three days, “Y/n, would you consider being my girlfriend?”
And this time, you were happy to say yes. “I would love to Shoto! Now let’s get going so we can make it to that café!”

The newest Gundham scenario was so cute!!! Could you do a part 2 where it’s the same night he has a nightmare that you did actually die and starts having a panic attack in his sleep. You wake him up to comfort him and he keeps apologizing to you. You keep telling him it’s ok and he falls asleep on your chest, while you sing him to sleep.
Oh! Yeah, sure thing!
Justified Part 2-Gundham Tanaka x Reader
Gundham had just finished walk along the beach and had made his way to the supermarket. He was searching for more sunflower seeds for his Devas, as well as a gift for his Dark Queen. He felt that after all they’d been through, you needed to be reminded exactly how much he truly cares for you. Especially after the ghastly argument the two of you had had early that day.
As he was taking a box of chocolates from the shelf, the sound that haunts everyone’s dreams played, echoing throughout the supermarket.
Ding dong, bing bong! A body has been discovered!
Gundham frowned. Already? That didn’t take long. He sighed and placed the chocolates back. He’d give you the gift afterwards. He made his way out of the store and noticed many of his classmates running towards the ranch. Gundham followed them, assuming that must be where the poor soul had met their end.
As he arrived, he noticed a few of his peers gave him a sad glance. This caused Gundham to frown and quicken his pace. He broke through the crowd, seeing Hajime and Chiaki examining the area around...
...
Gundham stood still. He couldn’t process the scene before him. It just...didn’t make any sense to him. He refused to accept it. There was no way he could. There was no way. No way.
There was no way you could be stabbed to death in front of the barn.
He just stood there, staring at you. “This...this must be an illusion spell...” He murmured to himself, trying to deny the reality in front of him.
Sonia slowly walked over to him. “Gu...Gundham?” She called out softly. “You can...go to your cottage for this investigation if you want. The rest of us can-”
“No.” He interrupted her. His gaze turned harsh, and he looked over at everyone. “I won’t allow any of you fools near her!” As he said this he walked to your body and knelt beside you, ignoring the blood that stained his clothes.
He held your body tightly, looking you over. You had been stabbed repeatedly, and your face was frozen in a terrified expression. Gundham felt himself tear up. Someone had ruined your beauty. Someone had taken your life.
Taken you from him.
“Gundham, I understand how you feel, but we need to-”
The grieving Ultimate glared up at Hajime, who’s hand had been outstretched to touch Gundham’s shoulder. “If you take one more step towards us I swear I’ll kill you.” He snarled. “Didn’t you hear me?! I won’t let any of you near her!”
“It’s best if we let him grieve for a while, I think.” Chiaki said. “We can investigate other places first.” Hajime nodded, giving one last glance to Gundham before leaving. it wasn’t long before all the other students followed suit, leaving just Gundham hugging your body.
He began shaking, and the tears fell faster. He couldn’t hold his facade together anymore. He broke down, crying into your blood soaked chest and muttering apologies. His hamsters nuzzled him in an attempt to comfort him, but even they were crying. The breeder gently caressed your face, wincing at how cold you felt.
“Please...” He whispered, his voice cracking. “Please come back to me, Y/N. I...I need you. I’m sorry for what I said. Please come back. I need you. I need you...Y/N...please...Don’t leave me...”
Gundham felt his chest tighten. He couldn’t breathe. All he could see was your bloodied body. Your bloodied, lifeless body. This wasn’t real. It couldn’t be real. You couldn’t be gone. You couldn’t. He began to hyperventilate.
He felt a hand on his shoulder. “Gundham...” A soft voice called, but Gundham paid them no mind and continued to sob into your clothes. The hand then began shaking him. “Gundham....Gundham!”
~~~
“Gundham! Please, wake up!”
Gundham shot up with a start. His head shot around frantically as he gasped heavily.. He stopped when he felt a gentle hand on his. He turned, and blinked when he saw you, looking at him worriedly.
“Gundham, are you alright?” You asked softly. “You began tossing and turning, then muttering my name. I tried to wake you up but-”
He wrapped you in a hug. You let out a surprised sound, but returned it. ““I’m sorry. I-I’m so sorry, Y/N.” He murmured, tears falling from his eyes and onto you. “I could have lost you. Y-you could’ve been killed. You could’ve...It would’ve been my fault. I...I’m so sorry.”
You felt your heart break, and you held him tightly. “Gundham, I’m alright. Shh, shh. Nothing happened to me. Nothing is your fault.” You took a hand and began to gently run your fingers through his hair. “It was only a bad dream. I’m right here, and not going anywhere.”
“But...but it felt so real. I saw you. You were...i-it was...” He couldn’t even finish his sentence. The breeder choked on his words, clinging to your shirt tightly as the tears stained the fabric.
“I’m right here, Gundham. I didn’t die. I was in my cottage, remember?” You reminded him softly, rocking the two of you slowly. “I’m perfectly fine. Whatever you saw wasn’t real. Just take a deep breath, my love.”
The breeder nodded and did as you said, taking several deep breaths. He slowly looked up to you, still looking destressed and his eyes stained red. “I...I love you so much, Y/N.” He said quietly. “If I lose you...”
You shushed him softly and kissed his head. “You won’t, my dark king. I promise you. I will always be with you.”
He slowly placed his head on your chest, holding you close. “I should never have said what I did...I-”
“Hush now. Don’t even think about that.” You interrupted him. “It’s alright. I’m alright. Everything’s alright.” Gundham opened his mouth to say something, but before he could, you cleared your throat.
“Wandering child of the Earth Do you know just how much you’re worth? You have walked this path since your birth. You were destined for more. There are those who’ll tell you you’re wrong They will try to silence your song But right here is where you belong So don’t search anymore.”
As you sang, Gundham’s eyes looked up to you. You smiled down at him as you continued to run your fingers soothingly through his hair.
“You are the dawn of a new day that’s waking. A masterpiece still in the making The blue in an ocean of grey. You are right where you need to be Poised to inspire and to succeed. You’ll look back and you’ll realize one day.”
Your boyfriend’s eyes began to slowly flutter shut, and you could feel his body relax. He nuzzled his head closer to your chest and held you close. You admired the Ultimate laying on you for a while as you continued your song.
“In your eyes there is doubt As you try to figure it out But that’s not what life is about So have faith there’s a way.
Though the world may try to define you It can’t take the light that’s inside you So don’t you dare try to hide Let your fears fade away.”
You paused when you noticed Gundham’s breathing had calmed, indicating he had fallen asleep. You smiled at that and kissed his forehead. “I love you, Gundham. I won’t ever leave you. I promise, my love.” You whispered as you closed your own eyes and finished the lullaby.
“You are the dawn of a new day that’s waking. A masterpiece still in the making The blue in an ocean of grey. You are right where you need to be Poised to inspire and to succeed. You’ll look back and you’ll realize one day.
You are the dawn of a new day that’s waking. A masterpiece still in the making The blue in an ocean of grey. You are right where you need to be Poised to inspire and to succeed. Soon you’ll finally find your own way.”
Reader stops Nagito from starting the killing game
Think of this as a “Mod Fuyu’s Birthday Special” cause it’s my birthday and I had the idea :) After this I’ll finish up the requests and post em
Also, if you like this kind of “what if this kind of person stopped so-and-so from happening”, I love writing this kinda stuff so feel free to ask for it
Category: Neutral/kinda angst(??) imagine (might make more parts)
Specifics: GN!reader, reader is the Ultimate Analyst, takes place in Chapter 1 of SDR2, kind of Nagito x reader???
Warnings: Nagito being Nagito, Twogami pats you down? Idk if that counts as a warning? And lowkey stalking Hope Bagel Boy, I believe that’s it- also there are things in here that are just my headcannons so please don’t come at me for them, thank you
Tumblr media
You had your eye on Nagito since everyone arrived. The moment he introduced himself, you found something... off... about him. Due to you being unsure of what was wrong, you immediately began to silently observe him out of habit. He clearly noticed, even if he tried to hide it. At the very least, he wasn’t bothered by it.
Pretty quickly you were able to figure out he had dementia, perhaps cancer, and definitely some ptsd. His pale skin, the fact that the tips of his hair had some color, as well as his subtle behavior lead you to the first two. He didn’t react well when you brought up maybe flying off the island. Even if he seemed normal to everyone else and acted like it didn’t bother him, it was obvious to you. You picked up on the strained but natural-looking smile he forced. You guess that’s the perk of being the Ultimate Analyst, seeing things people won’t tell you.
He would also constantly praise you and the group- or more accurately, praised your talents. You were slightly annoyed by this, you were more than just a talent, but kept your mouth shut for the time being. He definitely had some sort of inferiority complex, or had trauma that made him believe he wasn’t worthy of basic human rights, maybe it was both.
Because of these reasons, you felt the need to not only help the boy, but maybe befriend him if possible?
So when this “killing game” was announced, you stuck to his side. Time and time again he said it wasn’t necessary, but you still wanted to get close to him. You knew he wouldn’t open up easily, seeing as he brushes off questions about himself, but you were determined enough to stay with him till he did.
Once Byakuya announced a party will commence, seemingly out of nowhere, you immediately had your eyes set on Nagito. He instantly agreed with some hope/friendship rant. He had something to do with this. He had to. So from that moment, even if it was from a distance, you were keeping an eye on him.
Soon you figured out the biggest factor of Nagito. The thing that had made him who he is now and the reason why he treated you all like gods. That his luck was indeed real.
—————
“So how are we gonna decide who’ll clean up the place?” You asked, still a little concerned about the suddenness of the party. If it weren’t for Nagito, you’d probably be like Fuyuhiko and refuse to attend.
“Are there any volunteers?” Byakuya turned to the group. No one said anything in response, leaving the supposed-heir (you had doubts of his identity, but he was a good leader so for now you let it slide) to sigh.
“We could draw sticks? Let chance decide?” Nagito found some sticks in his jacket, breaking one to be shorter than the others.
“Wait- that wouldn’t be fair! You’d be off cleaning duty!” Hajime joked with a small smile. Even so, Nagito gave a simple smile, the same one he had when he was hiding something. It was the same smile when he tried not to reveal he was upset by the planes. As well as the same one he had when Byakuya first brought up having a party.
Despite this, you decided to play along. Going first, you sighed a breath when you got a long stick. One by one, everyone pulled. All of them got long sticks.
The tall, white haired boy revealed the final stick, showing it to be the short one.
“Heh, guess my luck isn’t always great,” he gave that smile again, “my talent clearly isn’t accurate.”
You gave a suspicious look to him. Letting everyone else joyfully leave the room, you stayed behind.
“Y/n?” Nagito looked a little confused, “Is there something you’d like?”
Taking a breath, you answered. “I wanna help!” You gave a fake excited smile, tilting your head to the side for emphasis.
“You don’t have to help scum like me, Y/n,” he sounded as if he was desperate, “I have this under control.” Thinking quickly, you attempted to prove your talent true to him, showing you can pick up on things he won’t tell. But you also can’t let him know you think he is up to something.
“Nagito,” you started slowly, “you get fatigued so easily, I don’t want you hurting yourself!” The boy looked taken aback. He smiled once again.
“You really are the Ultimate Analyst! Such an amazing talent!” He bit his inner cheek. “If you insist then!”
With that, he let you help out with the preparations. Though he was a bit more careful when he left the room after about a two to three hours. He used the excuse of needing to go to the bathroom. Of course, you knew better.
After a few minutes, he came back. Smile still on his face, but you could’ve swore there was something softly glowing inside his jacket. You then took your own turn of “using the bathroom”.
On the way to see what exactly Nagito did, you ran into Teruteru, who looked terrified. He sounded even worse, an accent of some sort bleeding a bit into his words.
“Y-You’re not apart of his crazy idea, h-huh?!”
What?
“What idea?” You moved so you were at eye level with the chef. “Teruteru, what’s Nagito planning.”
He still stood there, frozen completely. You looked over your shoulder to make sure Nagito couldn’t see you. You turned back to Teruteru, speaking slow and calmly.
“Teruteru.” You tried to remain calm, “I know something is up with him. Please, tell me what he said to you.”
“H-he’s plannin’ on killin’ so’body!” His words were quick and panicked. The accent was thicker now. It took you just a second to fully understand him. You brought your hands to his shoulders.
“Don’t say anything to anyone just yet, okay? Not even Nagito.” He looked slightly confused. “We don’t want anyone else panicking. It could cause absolute chaos. What we need to do is stop Nagito from killing in a silent manner. Do you know what exactly his plan is?”
Once more, the boy nodded. Calmer now, he told you what he knew. The two of you figured out how to stop Nagito without him knowing. He agreed to run out and tell Byakuya what was going on and have him approve of the plan. With a final sigh, you walked back into the room.
“Where were you? It’s been a good 20 minutes, not planning on murder I hope.” He chuckled at his joke. You hid your grimace.
“No, I just ran into Teruteru and had him ask Byakuya if the iron skewers would be considered a weapon.” You lied easily, putting on a relaxed-looking smile. “He wanted to use them for a more tropical theme.”
Nagito simply nodded in response. The two of you quickly finished up. You attempted to find where his weapon would be and take it out to bring it to Byakuya, but you couldn’t do so with Nagito staring at you.
—————
Before long, the nighttime announcement went off. You brushed off your top and fixed up anything you saw necessary. Taking a final breath of preparation, you ran over to the old hotel.
“Did you confiscate his weapon?” Byakuya asked as he pat your sides down in routine. Even if you had stopped Nagito and Teruteru from killing, he still wanted to check you to be safe.
“Unfortunately, no, he wouldn’t leave the room until I did.” You answered truthfully. The large man pulled back once he was satisfied with his search. “But I’ll keep him close, and make sure I know where he is when his plan starts.” He nodded in understanding and let you into the room.
Upon entering, you heard numerous compliments on the room directed towards Nagito. Though he was quick to say that you had stayed behind to help. Almost as if he’s trying to make a point of it to the others..
Everything was going smoothly. Teruteru brought out food, Peko went to guard the case in the office, and Chiaki went with Monomi to prevent Monokuma from coming in. You made sure to stay next to Nagito the whole time, sneaking glances at the clock on the air conditioner. Even when Ibuki excitedly tried to pull you towards something else, you always found your way back to Nagito.
And then it struck 11:30.
The lights went out as you and Nagito stood next to the table near the back of the room. Quickly, you flew your hand up to grasp Nagito’s sleeve, knowing even if you were unable to, Byakuya would catch him leaving your side. You held his arm close to you, stopping him from walking off until the lights came back on.
As soon as they did, your eyes landed on Mikan, who was helplessly sprawled out across the floor. You pushed your gaze away from her as Mahiru helped her up. When you looked to Nagito, his eyes were latched onto you. They held a curious but cautious look. In a rush, you acted oblivious to what the true consequence of your actions were.
“S-sorry!” You let go of him immediately, “I just latched onto the closest person! I was scared!”
“It’s okay..” He knew something of your true intentions. You can tell by his eyes.
You let a smile fall over your face and looked away. Byakuya met your gaze, proud of the work you had done. Even if you didn’t see it as much to do, he definitely did.
“Everyone,” Sonia called out, “go look for Peko and Chiaki! Make sure they are okay!” After a short shout of affirmation from Kazuichi, everyone split off to find the two.
Everyone except you and Nagito. The latter of which pulled you to a room near the back of the building. Isn’t this where Byakuya originally decided to put the case? You saw the irons Teruteru spoke about earlier that day and it made sense.
You turned to Nagito, slightly confused as to why he pulled you aside. Did he know you purposely stopped him? How would he? You made sure to keep quiet about it.
“Y/n...” Nagito’s voice was serious, it almost scared you. “You knew what you were doing.”
It wasn’t a question. It was a demand to admit.
“And? You just expect me to let you kill an innocent classmate?” You shot back, irritated.
“If I start this game, the rest of you would be able to use me as a stepping stone for hope!”
What???
A stepping stone for hope???
You took a minute to process what exactly he meant. Putting together his self-loathing words, the way he saw and described you all as almost godlike figures, and his already tortured mind- was it possible he did this just so you could “have hope”?
“Nagito.” You pulled his face to be level with yours, furious yes, but also concerned for the man you want to consider a friend. “We don’t need you to sacrifice yours and another person’s life to have hope. We’re already doing that, like you said when Byakuya first came up with the party idea!”
“But Y/n...” His voice trailed off, as if he wanted to say something but didn’t know how.
“In a way, you did help us.” You tried to give a reassuring smile, not exactly used to comforting people as you are to reading them. “You’re the reason we had the party, we’re all closer because of it.”
He let out a bitter laugh and looked off to the side. “Scum like me doesn’t deserve that sort of praise, but I appreciate the sentiment.”
“Nagito. Look at me.” He kept his gaze away from you. “Nagito.”
The sternness of your voice made his head snap towards you. He looked almost scared. Maybe has trauma with verbal abuse, got it. You kept your voice calmer.
“You’re not scum. And you do deserve the praise. Even if your reasoning was flawed, you brought all of us together. People are gonna be less likely to kill.” Nagito’s eyes shone like he wasn’t used to this sort of talk, especially about himself. The swirl in his eyes left completely “I know you might not think so, but you had a good effect on us. We’ll figure out a way to get off this island without participating in this killing game. I promise.” You let a genuine smile show on your face before jokingly adding, “Oh, and without using a plane preferably.”
Nagito seemed to have mixed emotions, but stayed silent nonetheless. He simply nodded his head and gave a smile- it wasn’t the strained one though. Neither was it the one he put up as a front. This was his genuine smile.
The door opening had startled you out of your observations. You snatched your hands away from Nagito’s face and looked to the door. Your face was slightly heated. Gundham had a surprised look on his face.
“Dearest apologies, but I must obtain my Hell Hound Earring. This room must have the entrance leading to it.” Without speaking, you simply pointed to the trap door in the back of the storage room. Gundham simply nodded in appreciation and moved to the side for you and Nagito to get out of the small room.
Nagito x Fem! Reader - Hanahaki Disease
‘How would you feel about writing a Nagito x fem!reader where he has Hanahaki over her? I’d prefer angst with a happy ending but thats up to you’
Hello Anon !! I absolutely love this request, I feel like theres so much I can do with it y’know? I added my own twist that is very, very angsty, and made me cry once or twice. but hopefully, this happy ending will work in some ways - Mod Mikan
Italics = Flashbacks/Past
Standard = Present Tense
TW for accidental overdose scene and seizures
TW for emetophobia, goes without saying since I’m writing a hanahaki plot!
-----
It started with the hiccups, small breathy hitches in his chest, that felt like collapsed buildings and porcelain shards, it stung his throat. Nagito, most very naive, thought almost nothing of it at first. That changed, when he sat heaving and coughing over the fancy porcelain toilet at hopes peak.
As he sat there on his knees, sweat dripping from his head, a pain in his cheek and sticky palms wiped onto his dress pants, he cursed himself with his luck.
It could be worse, just a stomach bug, my luck has obviously changed..
That is what he thought, or maybe wanted to think. A thought deeply embedded into his frail mind every time there is a mild convenience burdening his way. Its just my luck.
Though, as he looked up, green eyes glossing over what would usually be a nasty sight of a quick snack.
Nagito saw flowers, ethereal, magenta roses, dainty petunias and elegant dandelions, floating in the water below him, almost as if they were dancing.
Once again, his breath hitched, though he wasn’t sure if it was from whatever this was. This wasn’t his luck, this wasn’t despair, this wasn’t hope. This was plain, lonely, one sided symptoms of something so delicate, something so sad.
Nagito met you on a summer day, a cool breeze blowing, his hair stuck to his lips like glue. Ultimate luck he guessed. The rest wasn’t important, it was forgotten, and it was irrelevant and it was stupid.
stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid
Nagito was stupid from the moment he ran into you, from the moment he brushed his lips against yours, and from the moment he looked into your eyes. he was stupid.
Stupid to think he, a disappointment, a burden, would ever be graced with something as angelic, gentle and kindhearted as you. He was right, he was really stupid.
It all made sense after you were taken away. The words still rang in his head, quite frequently
Nagito yawned, for a day where he had almost nothing to do, he was quite sleepy. He sat in class 1-A, it was Friday “study” period for class 77-B. Usually you would sit next to him or sleep on his shoulder, or maybe play video games with Chiaki. Though this time you were sick with a bad case of the flu, and he was bored shitless. He blew his hair off his face, only to watch it float back down, then he’d blow it up again.
This went on for about 15 minutes until he got a call, he wishes he didn’t get it, though knows if he didn’t pick up, it would’ve been worse.
“Nagito.. I think I messed up”, your words were slurred, hiccuping and teary.
He knew immediately something bad had happened, he would tell in the way his stomach dropped, and the uneasy anxiousness took over his body.
“Can you please come back to my house, its only me here, I need help”.
Nagito didn’t have to think twice, he ran to your house in a sprint. he didn’t know what was going on, nor what had taken place. Though with the urgency in your house, and the way you sounded off the edge of reality, he knew it was bad.
He didn’t think it would be this bad, he didn’t think it would be his fault, But it was, thats how luck works.
He walked into your house, door unlocked, the air smelt musty and there was silence apart from a dripping tap and muffled crying, it’s not hard to guess which one he went running too.
He ran into the living room to find you on the floor in a ball, your lips were blue, skin pale and eyes wider than they’d ever been before.
“Please just help me”, you sobbed. “I didn’t mean to do this”
Nagito clenched his fists while he sat, flashbacks of what happened circled through his mind. the bathroom floor was cold but his hands felt hot. He didn’t want to admit it, but this was a long time coming.
Hanahaki disease, one sided love huh? I guess it is one sided to love someone nonexistent. What hurt the most is that there was no recovering, the cure stems from the love being returned. There is no love from six feet underground, only worms, maggots and empty promises.
Eyes clenched shut, Nagito held your hair back as you expelled whatever was left in your stomach, he hated that you were in pain, there was yet to be an explanation of what was happening. Walking in only to find his lover sprawled out of the floor, crying slurred nothings before vomiting all over the carpet.
“I..I”
“Speak slowly my love, whats happened?’
“I took a handful of those herbal flu pills you left out on the counter this morning, I figured because they were plant based ”
Thats right, Nagito thought, he left his medication on the counter this morning after staying the night.
his medication on the counter
not herbal pills
a handful of Prozac 50mg capsules
he felt his heart stop
his mind searched for the side affect panel on the pamphlet when he first started taking them
strange dreams, dry mouth, decreased appetite
he remembered the second page
signs of overdose:
dilated pupils, seizures, nausea and vomiting, respiratory issues, fast heart rate and oh my god what the fuck have I done
Mind racing, hands trembling, Nagito held you close, there wasn’t time to explain, thats it, there wasn't time. His hands fumbled for his phone, holding sobs back listening to the operator instruct him to position your barely conscious body into a position seizure friendly.
Cries and mumbled words of “what have i done” escaped from his mouth as he laid you on your side, his school bag under your head and floor cleared from anything potentially dangerous. He sat there, on the floor, holding his chest sobbing, waiting for the ambulance
(Authors note ! DONT use this as a guide to help someone having a seizure or overdose, this is simply from some googling and own personal experiences, if you suspect someone you know is in danger, get a trsuted adult or medical professional)
Luck is a tricky thing, bad luck, good luck, there is a spectrum. Usually someone lives out their life on a scaled ratio of luck, some have unfortunate luck, some have spectacular luck. Though there are the unfortunate few that lie on the sidelines. Their luck a forceful rollercoaster of up and downs, tragedies and utter miracles.
The past couple of months in Nagitos life was a tragedy, who knew the dip of the rollercoaster could cost him so very much of what made him whole.
As he sat there, the cold tile floor providing comfort for his aching palms, he remembered the paramedics, pathetically inserting a needle in your arm and calling it a day.
“We couldn’t save her, our deepest apologies”
He was angry, he knew you were gone from the moment your eyes rolled back and you lost control of your muscles, he could only sit there and scream.
But if they tried? At least do you decency? Not just act like you were another statistic is their salary, a teenager making a stupid decision.
Your parents were called, the room cleaned, and you were gone, that was it. The relationship you and Nagito held for two years crumbled. gone, as simple as that.
The white haired boy turned up to school the next day, face hollowed out with utter despair, eyes puffy and hair matted. He simply couldn’t deal with being alone, god knows what would’ve happened.
He reluctantly walked into homeroom, Miss Yukizome stationed at her desk with her almost programmed smile “Goodmorning Komaeda! I’m so glad youre joining us for another wonderful day!”
Another wonderful day? Another wonderful day watching the love of your life dying on her living room floor, loosing all control of her body and all you can do is sit there and tell her you love her, praying to all gods above she can hear it? Or Another wonderful day of crying and screaming yourself to sleep? ripping and smashing all the memories you have together in a pile because thats better than sleeping in a comfortable bed knowing she is on a plate of steel in the morgue?
Nagito kept his thoughts to himself, god knows he would probably get sent to a psychiatry institution if he spoke what was really on his mind.
With that, he sat down, eyes at the blank blackboard, fingers tapping at his desk, holding back tears that were already cried.
“Komaeda, you look like you’ve seen a ghost!” Teruteru exclaimed as he entered the classroom
“I wish I had”
He put his head on his desk, talking he couldn’t make out among his classmates filled his ears, he wanted quiet, ‘I wonder if she got quiet?’
Was there an afterlife? Or just a void of empty words and unfinished business. he wouldn’t know unless he experiences it himself, sooner or later.
“Okay class, try and get in some work today okay! I know you can do it” Miss Yukizome sung.
“Komaeda, can you get out of y/n’s seat, she should be coming in soon, hm?”
He didn’t even realise he was sitting in her seat, he was used to sitting at her desk with her, helping her with her work, playing with her hair and just enjoying the company of each other.
“No”, Nagito replied, fast and cold. It was strange for him to act this way, sure, he had a very valid excuse. Though it was unknown territory for the rest of the class.
“Oh no, has she still got that nasty flu? I hope you don’t catch it my dear boy”.
“No”, again, the same, the class had quieted down, he was usually so cheery, so full of hope and adoration for every single one of them.
“Well send my love to her, It’ll be great to see her again when I can” She smiled, completely oblivious.
“You can, the 18th, its an open casket’, Nagito grinned at her, a grin of something so far away from happiness, it reminded Yukizome of a clown, so creepy, yet so theoretically happy.
Everyones faces dropped
Nagito got up from the bathroom floor, this had happened weeks ago, but felt like minutes ago. He waited, and eventually, it stopped.
He walked back to class, the heels of his shoes tapping the hardwood floor of the hall leading up to his classroom. he entered solemnly, like he has every day since then.
Everyones faces dropped
Yet again.
Nagito knew what they were staring at, he didn’t want to address it, but he knew.
On his cheek grew a rose, sprouting at the top of his lip to the bottom of his cheekbone. For such a tragic disease, it was quite beautiful.
For such a tragic event, it felt so beautiful
God okay this was sad and a bit quick, I really did try to do a happy ending, though sometimes, for stories like this, I think it is a little to cliché, Stay safe everyone ! I hope you like this <3
Could you,,,explain for me more about human Chiaki? I adore all of your headcanons and ideas but this one intrigues me the most
*cracks knuckles* ok ok let's do this. I'm not really sure if you wanna know anything specific about her, so I'm just gonna start rambling and try to not go too overboard and have to post another thing in doc form again.
I kind of already established my basic idea with the Chiakis, but just in case, I'll explain my thought process briefly. After I first went through dr2, I noticed 2 things about so Chiaki, which was that a She saw alter ego as a parent figure, and b she seemed surprised that Monokuma had a file for her. I already knew that there was a human Chiaki too, but this really solidified the idea in my head that those two are separate characters. I spent the first little while after realising that thinking about how ai Chiaki would deal with all of that, but recently I've been spending more time thinking about human Chiaki.
Human Chiaki is decently similar to do Chiaki on first glance, but they are set apart by many things. The thing that's most relevant though is that human Chiaki actually had to grow up in this fucked up society and has suffered a lot thanks to that. She fell down a depressive spiral in her early teens, and had a lot of really intense self loathing for much of her early teens. Eventually, she started to work through her self loathing and instinctive nihilism, and started to work her way through her frequent existential crisisis, eventually coming out of them doing better than most people do. I'm not going to philosophize too much in this Chiaki hc post, but yeah. So by the time she gets into hopes peak she's improved a lot mentally, but she's still pretty damn depressed and also very lonely, although she often doesn't admit it. In hopes peak she manages to befriend several of her classmates, and even scores a girlfriend! Things are actually going pretty good for a while, until the two murders happen.
Now at this point, Chiaki actually really really cares about pretty much all of her classmates, excluding Nagito. She has a hard time understanding their emotions sometimes, but she really does try to be there for them. She tends to provide distractions instead of direct advice or comfort, since she's just not very good at that kind of stuff. This helps somewhat for some of them, but Fuyuhiko and Mahiru both seem to not be getting better. Things get worse though. A few months later, Mahiru's younger brother goes missing, and they start to spiral a bit as they desperately try to get anyone to tell them what happened or to help find him. Chiaki doesn't know how to help them, Mahiru's mental state is getting worse, and then Junko comes into the picture.
Now, Junko actually tried to set Chiaki down the path of despair too. In her eyes Chiali would be a good target, since she already has a lot of anger towards their society. He efforts seem to be not going anywhere however, and eventually Chiaki starts to get fed up with her, and the two have something approximating a debate about their worldviews. This is when Junko really starts to see Chiaki as a threat, since both of them reached their point of views through logic, and Chiaki has some actually compelling reasons as to why Junko's beliefs are bullshit. Although externally and to Chiaki the motive is to stop her from convincing the rest of the dr2 kids, the true reason is that for a moment, Chiaki actually got Junko to doubt herself, and that caused her to freak the fuck out. Now not only is Junko trying to mess up Chiaki's classmates, she's trying to find a way to well and truly break Chiaki, and make her realise that she was right all along.
I've talked a bit about what happens afterwards, and while I do have some specific thoughts regarding how most of the kids start spiraling into despair, that's not really too directly relevant. Like I said, Chiaki tries really hard to help her friends and to get Junko to fuck off, but it doesnt really work. Some of it was her just not being very good at comforting people, but a lot of it was Junko being directly involved with the relationships that meant the most to her. Her friends started to turn against her and her relationships started to fall apart, and Chiaki was also starting to realise that Junko might have been far more dangerous than initially anticipated. She tried to confide in Mahiru and maybe get their help in figuring out more about what Junkos planning, but since Junko was one of the only people Mahiru trusted at the time they snapped at her, and now Chiaki was in more danger since Junko knew that she had an idea of what's up. Suddenly, Chiaki was alone again- no worse than that, she was hated. And while ultimately Junko was the one to blame, Chiaki couldn't help but feel bitter towards the others too. Only a few days before her death, she and Mahiru had their last conversation. Chiaki tried to convince Mahiru that Junko is hurting everybody, but it doesn't work. And finally, Chiaki fully snaps at someone. She's to tired of taking care of everyone, she's so tired of having to do all of this alone, she's so tired of people getting mad at her when she tells people about how Junko is targeting her and hurting her. She storms off, and not long after, shes abducted for the execution. It's mostly the same as in canon, with the exception of the trick about her class waiting for her. Instead Junko tricks her into thinking that her friends came to save her, only to do the whole pierce her with a bunch of spears thing. Chiaki ends up dying alone and miserable, and Junko praises herself for her victory, but here's the thing. At the end of the day, even in her last moments dying on the floor, Chiaki never backed down on her arguments and beliefs. Despite Junko's taunts, Chiaki never stopped believing that Junko's ideas sucked. Junko may have stopped Chiaki from ruining her plans, but she never won in the battle between them. Chiaki would never truly leave Junko's thoughts, even after her death, because Junko never actually won. And at the end of the day, Chiaki would be right.
Jeez ok that got long. I hope this is alright!
Soda laughed for a while longer, half at Hajime and half at the whole stupid situation.
Once he was done, he glanced around to make sure Nagito was well out of ear shot.
“Sooo?” He waggled his eyebrows suggestively.
“What?” Hajime was still blushing.
“Gimme the deats dude! You touch his dick yet?” He flashed Hajime a toothy grin.
“What the hell, Soda? No!” Hajime turned about twice as red as he had been. “I haven’t even told him I’m into him yet, of course I haven’t touched his dick…”
Right. Soda’s smile fell and he felt himself begin to blush as well. That was how these things were supposed to go: feelings first, dicks later.
Wow he was such a fuck up.
“Soda? C’mon man I’m not actually mad. You just surprised me, asking that kind of thing out of nowhere. I get that you were just messing with me, so cheer up.”
“Ha, yeah. I was… just messing around!” Soda forced a nervous laugh and hoped it was believable enough.
He could feel Hajime’s questioning gaze on him, but neither of them said anything.
“So… how’re you gonna tell him?”  Soda kept his eyes on his feet.
“I… don’t know. I might not. I’m still thinking it over.” Soda glanced to the side, Hajime was also staring at his feet.
“Is that really, like, okay? I mean, I dunno, won’t you be sad or whatever if you never tell him?”
“Maybe, but it’s not like I’ll for sure be happy if I do tell him, you know?”
Right. Admitting your feelings wasn’t even supposed to be the hard part. It was what came after…
“You think he’ll reject you?”
“Maybe.” Hajime heaved a deep sigh. “But it’s probably best to just get it over with, right?” Hajime flashed him a smile. “If he does rejects me, though, I expect you to clear your schedule so you can mend my poor broken heart.” Hajime dramatically placed the back of his hand to his forehead and leaned against Soda as he spoke.
“Sure, thing man, just promise you won’t try to rebound with me.” Soda snickered.
“Already told you you’re not my type, dude.”
“Not even when you’re heartbroken and maybe a little drunk?”
“Wow dude, sounds like you’re making plans. Maybe I should go to Chiaki instead…” Hajime pulled away from him with an overexaggerated sigh.
“C’mon man! I was just thinking that’s what people do when they get rejected, right? Have a beer to numb the pain or whatever!” Soda was doing his best to sound upset. “I said I wasn’t into you either man, so don’t be like that.” He looked at Hajime with his best pout.
They shared a look, then laughed at each other.
“But really, Hajime, however things work out, I’ll be right here supporting you the whole time.” Soda gave him a thumbs-up.
“I know, and I’m here for you too, okay? If you ever decide you actually want to tell me what’s going on with you, I’ll be right here.” Hajime smiled and bumped his shoulder against Soda’s, and Soda knew he was telling the truth.
He didn’t cry.
But it was close.
They ended up spending most of the day together, just wandering around the islands and chatting with whoever they happened to come across. They didn’t see Gundham.
Soda kept spacing out. Hajime definitely noticed, but just let him think, only really getting his attention when one of their friends approached.
He knew he needed to talk to Gundham, but he still wasn’t sure what to say.
Hey, thanks for all the good sex and stuff, I think I want to ruin it by having weird feelings now, if that’s cool?
Even if he did figure out what to say, he had no idea how Gundham was going to react. Like, obviously Gundham was a pretty nice guy, so he probably wouldn’t hit Soda or anything, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t gonna get mad. They had a good thing going, if Soda tried to wreck it with his stupid gross feelings, he wouldn’t even be able to blame Gundham for being pissed.
Why did he have to go and start feeling things about Gundham? Why did he have to ruin everything?
How much longer could he go without telling Gundham?
It’s probably best to just get it over with.
Stupid Hajime with his stupid wisdom.
Fine. He was going to do it. Next time he got Gundham alone, he was going to sit him down and just talk.
About feelings.
Feelings that he had.
For Gundham.
Feelings like…
Feelings he couldn’t think about for too long. He was just going to scare himself out of talking to Gundham if he did.
He let Hajime guide him around the island while he tried, and failed, not to think of Gundham.
Dinner time rolled around before Soda even realized it, and suddenly he found himself being led to the hotel restaurant by Hajime.
He hadn’t even noticed he was hungry, but the second he saw the food spread out before him he was starving. It wasn’t until he had piled his plate high with food and taken his usual seat, with Hajime across from him, that he noticed Gundham had yet to arrive.
Hid heart raced a little faster at the thought of him, but he forced himself to calm down. It wasn’t like they were going to talk about… stuff in front of all their friends, so there was no need for him to be nervous.
He had just about calmed himself down when Gundham walked in and undid all of his hard work with nothing but a glance and a little wave. Soda nodded in return and his heart was back to racing. He was sure he was red, was sure that Hajime noticed and was connecting the dots, and he was sure he couldn’t wait until after dinner to do this. The second Gundham got his food and came to sit down, he was going to ask him to come back to his cabin to talk. Fuck whatever their friends would think about it, he needed to do this.
But Gundham never came to sit down.
Just as suddenly and quietly as he had arrived, he was already leaving.
Soda turned in his seat to call out to him, but he was already gone. He turned back to his food and tried to figure out what had just happened.
“Huh, anyone know where Gundham’s off to so quickly?” Sweet, blessed Hajime. Soda looked to his friend with gratitude, but he just casually sipped his tea and looked to the rest of the table. Soda would die for this man.
“Oh, he’s most likely headed back to the ranch.” Nagito had appeared behind Hajime. He placed a hand on his back before sitting next to him and picking up his utensils. Soda applauded Hajime’s ability to keep his cool, noticing only the slightest tinge of pink on his cheeks.
“The ranch?” Soda spoke up, can’t make Hajime do all the work.
Nagito shifted his unfocused gaze to Soda “Mmm, earlier today I happened to be walking by and saw a horse acting strangely. I thought I told everyone at breakfast this morning, but I suppose you were a bit out of sorts. Forgive me for being so useless.” God this guy was weird, it was obviously Soda’s fault for not listening.
“It’s fine, so… Gundham’s helping the horse then?” If an animal was in trouble, the way Gundham had run out at breakfast would totally make sense.
“Yes, and its foal as well. Apparently, the horse was giving birth and I failed to notice. Gundham helped with the delivery, but, from what a useless piece of trash like me could gather, it seems the foal came early and is quite sickly.”
“You… shouldn’t call yourself that Nagito…” Soda spared a moment to mentally cheer Hajime on before focusing in on what Nagito had said.
So Nagito had announced that he saw a horse being weird at breakfast and that had been why Gundham had left so suddenly with him. Then just now, he had probably just been grabbing something to eat before going back to the ranch, since the baby horse was sick. Well at least Gundham wasn’t pissed at him or something.
Not yet anyways.
Soda sighed. That probably meant he was going to have to wait even longer to talk with Gundham. A stable, which was most likely filled with horse shit, where Gundham was looking after a sick foal? Didn’t really seem like the right place for a feelings talk…
Stupid horse, having a baby early and making Gundham take care of it because he’s such a sweet and caring guy that he would never stand by and let an animal suffer, even if it meant missing out on his own vacation and skipping meals with his friends because Gundham was just selfless like that and an all around amazing guy who-
Soda put his head in his hands. Thinking about what a good guy Gundham was really wasn’t helping him deal with the fact that he was going to have to keep waiting to talk to him.
He finished the rest of his meal in relative silence, only speaking up to do his best as Hajime’s official wingman whenever there was an awkward pause between him and Nagito.
When everyone was finished eating, Hajime stopped him before he could head to his cabin to wallow in peace.
“Thanks for… y’know.” Hajime had a hand on the back of his neck and was blushing slightly
“No problem, just be sure to invite me to the wedding.” Soda gave a half-hearted smirk and some weak finger guns, and Hajime huffed in amusement.
“We’ll see.” They both laughed. “So…” There was a pause. “Gundham.” It wasn’t a question.
“Dude, please don’t.” Soda whined, he knew he had made fun of Hajime that morning, and he 100% deserved to be treated the same way, but he really wasn’t in the mood.
“But I’m right, right?”
“Dude.”
“Fine, but at least admit your taste in men is just as shitty as mine.” Hajime laughed and patted him on the back.
“Fine, sure, we both suck. Can we drop it now?”
“Course dude, just…” Soda looked up at his friend, willing him to just shut up and not make fun of him. “I’m rooting for you, okay?”
“Oh.” Not what he had expected. “Um… thanks. Really. I… thanks.” Hajime just patted his back one more time and headed off to his cabin. Soda let out a deep sigh and glanced in the direction of the ranch, before heading back to his own cabin for the night.
The next few days sucked.
Apparently, the mom horse was doing okay, but the baby wasn’t getting much better. Gundham was spending almost all his time at the ranch trying to help, so Soda only ever saw him when he was running in and out of the restaurant to collect his meals. He was jealous of the horse.
Hajime was doing his best to keep Soda occupied, but it wasn’t working too well. Mostly, it was because Nagito had taken to hanging around them, and as happy as Soda to see Hajime get a bit of solid flirting in every now and then, it just made him feel lonelier. He was jealous of Hajime.
On the third day, Mikan let everyone know that the foal’s condition was improving. Apparently, she had been helping out where she could. Even if animals and people were different, some of the basics were still the same, so Gundham had requested her assistance. It made sense, it wasn’t like there was anything Soda could do. But still… He was jealous of Mikan.
The fourth day found them all at the beach, except for Gundham of course, who was still keeping an eye on the foal. Soda half-heartedly participated in whatever games his friends were playing and was a little proud of himself for not creeping on Sonia while he did, but mostly, he just missed Gundham. He watched his friends laughing and splashing around in the water. He was jealous of all of them.
Lying in his bed on the fifth night, Soda didn’t know how much more he could take. He had been ready for his big stupid talk with Gundham five fucking days ago, and he knew he was slowly losing his nerve with each day that passed. The horse had been improving, right? So how much longer would it be before Gundham stopped spending every god damned waking moment at the ranch?
Wait.
Soda glanced at his alarm clock, it was a quarter past midnight.
Perfect.
Soda wouldn’t put it past Gundham to have stayed over night at the ranch those first few days, but now that the foal was doing okay? Gundham had to be sleeping in his cabin, right? So, Soda just had to wake him up and make him listen.
Okay, so maybe it wasn’t actually a perfect plan, but it was good enough. Gundham’s cabin would be plenty private, and, most importantly, Soda wouldn’t have to wait anymore.
He got out of bed and dressed himself; just shorts and a t-shirt, no need to bother with his coveralls this late, before giving himself a once over in the mirror and heading out.
He could feel his heart beating faster. This was it. He was going to make sure Gundham understood exactly how he felt, even if he still wasn’t 100% certain about it himself. No more stupid thoughts getting in his way, no more stupid Nagito pulling Gundham away, and no more stupid sick animals to keep them apart.
This was it.
He raised his hand to knock on Gundham’s door, but before he could actually do it, he heard Gundham call his name.
“Kazuichi…” It was quiet, but Soda definitely heard it. Wow, did Gundham’s weird animal mindreading powers extend to him now too? And what did that say about him? Nah, Gundham had probably just seen him through the window or something. Well, whatever, if Gundham knew he was there he might as well go in.
He opened the door and slipped in, making sure to close it behind him.
“Hey. So I-”
Oh.
As he turned to face Gundham he realized that he had, in fact, not known Soda was there. He had called his name for an entirely different reason.
Gundham was on his back, knees bent, with one hand on his dick and one further down, between his legs.
Oh. Shit.
Gundham’s face was hard to read, but he definitely hadn’t been expecting Soda.
“I-I-I’m so fucking sorry! I’ll leave! I just though I heard- I mean I guess I did hear? But you weren’t- I mean? I’m sorry.” Soda turned to leave, fumbling for the door handle.
“My dear consort…” Gundham’s voice was airy, breathless. It went straight to Soda’s dick.
“Y-yeah?” Soda turned his head back to Gundham and tried his best not to stare at the hand between his legs. Gundham must have noticed. He smiled and slowly began to move his hand.
“Aid me.”
Self Sacrifice
Pairing: Kay x Nagito
Genre: Mostly angst with a lil bit of fluff sprinkled in
Rating: PG-13 - Descriptions of violence, mentions of su*cide, & swearing
Word Count: 1,954
Prompt:
Tumblr media
        Kay’s head was spinning. And it wasn’t just the smokey air that seemed to constantly inhabit the dark dreary area that was the fifth island. Everything seemed to be falling apart at the seams and the blonde had no idea what to do. She, Hajime, Chiaki, Sonia, Kazuichi, and Fuyuhiko were all in charge of searching every available island in hopes of finding the bombs that Nagito had supposedly planted somewhere within the islands. When her thoughts reached the white haired male, she almost stopped right in her tracks. She’s been trying so damn hard to reach through to him. The others treated him so awfully (not like they didn’t have a valid reason to be cautious of him, she just thought they were unnecessarily cruel at times). Her heart ached, but she forced herself to push it aside. She and Fuyuhiko were given responsibility of the fifth island. Since it was the one most recently opened up to them, they figured it was the place that they’d most likely be hidden.
Kay had already poked around Sea King Industries (yielding to nothing) and also the food vendor street. It was a long shot, but hey, she was desperate! Finally approaching the looming plushie factory, a knot began slowly forming in her stomach and her legs began feeling weak. Pushing aside nausea that began clouding her mind, she set her sights on the small warehouse that stood beside it. The plushie factory would be too obvious right? And if she knew anything about Nagito, she knew that he probably wouldn’t place them somewhere like that, right? Mustering up the courage and ignoring her shaking hands, she turned the knob to open the door. To her surprise, the knob turned, but the door refused to open. Alright….that was way too suspicious to ignore, considering the fact that it opened just earlier.
“Come on! Open, you damn door!” She cursed, using all of her strength before the thing finally gave way and she was greeted by darkness and some...ominous sounding music?? “What the fuck…” She whimpered to herself before noticing a bunch of those weird panel Monokumas forming a line to...somewhere. Feeling her heart racing and ignoring all better judgement, she followed the line to what seemed to be the back of the warehouse. Bracing herself for coming across the bombs, she felt for the end of the curtain and pulled it aside.
What Kay found on the other side was...more horrifying than even the bombs could be. She couldn’t believe what her eyes were showing her. Nagito….he was laying on the ground, obvious cuts and gashes covering his body, duct tape over his mouth....and holy shit was that a fucking spear hanging from the ceiling?? Without thinking, her hands immediately flew towards the spear, grabbing it and yanking out from where it was pointing dangerously towards his stomach. After tossing to the side, she knelt down to him, examining his wounds before glancing up to his face. Tears streamed down her face as her eyes met with his, that were thankfully still open. “Nagito?! Who- who the fuck did this do you?” She barely managed to croak the words out, before suddenly remembering the duct tape. “I’m sorry-” She muttered before ripping off the duct tape with a wince. Just like a bandaid. She cradled his head in her lap, tightly grasping his free hand as if he’d disappear if she let go. He simply looked at her in disbelief for a moment, then looked away, shaking his head.
“Kay, no… You weren’t...supposed to be here... I can’t-” When he finally spoke, his voice was hoarse but even, something she couldn’t believe.
“What do you mean!? Who attacked you!? Was it Monokuma? I thought he wasn’t supposed to interfere…” Her words were cut off by a sob, the hymns in the background almost sounding as if they were mocking her.
“WHAT THE FUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!?” An unmistakable shout echoed throughout the warehouse as what she assumed were the others entering the area. Kay barely heard it . She simply felt numb as the rest gathered around her, frantically asking variations of what was going on or shouting expletives. Kay ignored them all. Her eyes were stuck to Nagito’s form, badly injured but still alive. Questions after questions swirled through her head, none of them she could’ve even hoped to answer, not with the others there and Nagito in the condition that he was currently in.
---
At some point, Kay felt herself get up and walk. Well...walk by herself was an exaggeration. She thought she felt herself be guided by Chiaki and Sonia, if not practically carried. She felt herself slumped in the lobby of the hospital, her mind blank but the occasional thought of the white haired boy that she had just accepted that she’d come to love. Fuck…. She felt more tears pick at her eyes, numbly dragging her legs towards herself and resting her forehead on her knees.
---
“-wake? Hey, Kay? Are you awake?” Kay weakly lifted her head to see Chiaki’s gentle form kneeling in front of her. The short haired girl gave Kay the smallest smile. “Hey hey, Kay. Nagito’s conscious. He’s….well...he’s alive at least. We thought you’d like to see him.”
“Also you were closest with Mikan. We thought her medical knowledge’d rubbed off on ya!” Akane added from behind Chiaki. Kay’s eyes suddenly snapped wide open.
“You mean he hasn’t been treated at all?!” Adrenaline pumped through her veins as she scrambled to her feet and began rushing to the patient’s hallway.
“Well...we wouldn’t say at all… We tried...but we didn’t get very far..besides, Akane was the one who said to go get you to help!” Kay vaguely heard Kazuichi saying, before the other’s words and beginning of an argument beginning to blend together as she entered the room. Her eyes began to tear up as she once again took in his form. However, this time, she took a deep breath and approached him silently, noticing the medical supplies already out, seeming as though they were...attempted to be used. She winced getting a better look at his injuries. As she was inspecting the cut on his arm, she heard a light chuckle. Slowly lifting her head to face him, Kay was met with those eyes she knew so well.
“So...how bad is it, doc?” With those words, Kay had to force herself to once again hold back tears as she grabbed the antibiotic ointment to begin applying it to the wound.
“This might sting a bit.” She flatly stated as she started dabbing it on, wincing slightly along with him, though she could tell he was trying not to react. You weren’t supposed to be here. That implied that it was something that was planned...right? But...what the hell could’ve been planned that would cause Nagito to end up like...this? As she moved to sterilize the needle she needed to use for the stitches, she took a deep breath. Sure she was close with Mikan, who in turn shared some medical knowledge, but hell, she didn’t think she’d be using any of it so soon! “I’m gonna need to stitch you up now... A lot of your wounds are really deep…” She trailed off, gently picking up his arm. She knew she needed to distract him so she continued speaking. “What...what happened? How’d you even end up like this? And what were you talking about earlier? What wasn’t I supposed to be there for-?” Kay found herself getting to worked up and slowed her breathing, focusing on stitching his wounds, waiting for his response. After a few beats, glanced up at him for just a moment, noticing his eyes no longer on her, but instead trained out the window. “Nagito…?” Finally, he sighed, looking back towards her. “Please...tell me.” She pleaded. After what felt like an eternity, his hoarse voice cut through the tense atmosphere of the room once again.
“...Like I said...I...was going to weed out the traitor. Even if that meant my life. I-” Something dark and cold flashed behind his eyes, something that sent a genuine shiver up Kay’s spine. However, it was gone as soon as it came. “I know things now… I could hardly comprehend at first and-” He cut himself off abruptly, focusing back on the window. Kay felt her lip begin to tremble at the explanation. Something was so obviously bugging him...to the point where his intention had become clear. No one had done this to him. He….had planned to kill himself. She silently finished the wound on his arm before tightening her grip on the thread.
“No….No!” She slammed her tools down on the counter, clearly startling Nagito and causing him to look back at her. “I don’t giving a flying fuck what you think you had to do. You always talked about being a “stepping stone” or whatever and how that you don’t value your own goddamn life and on top of that you’ve been acting so much different ever since the funhouse, but you know what? I’m done hearing it. You can’t just go ahead and fucking die willy-nilly cause you think- what? No one cares about you? That you’re worthless trash? Absolutely not. Because you know what?! At the very least, I care about you. I might even fucking love you but you have no idea. I just- damn it…” All of a sudden, all the tears she’d been trying to hard to suppress began flooding out. A flood blurred her vision as she attempted to wipe them away as fast as they spilled. Not a moment passed by before she felt warmth pulling her hands down. When she finally opened her eyes, she saw Nagito sitting up, gazing at her with a certain tenderness that she’d never seen before. She blinked away a few tears before shaking her head. “ You shouldn’t be sitting up.” She weakly mumbled as he reached a hand up and swiped a thumb across her cheek.
“Kay…I- I don’t know what to say… Hell, I don’t even know what I can say…” His tone matched hers, the evenness from before long gone. Hesitantly, her own hand found his that was still cupped to her cheek, savoring the touch that she’d been longing for for so long...though obviously these were...much less than ideal circumstances.
“Just….just promise me you’ll stay alive. Please.” Kay felt the warmth on her cheek disappear and instead, found herself in a tight hug. She immediately threw her arms around his neck, though careful of his injuries.
“I...I promise, Kay.” Those four words were gentle, and made Kay relax all the more. With all that out of the way, she was eventually able to return to tending to his wounds, with Nagito watching her, a light, content grin on his face...well...between the slight discomfort due to the stitching.
However, what Kay didn’t know was what else was swirling through his head. The truth of what he had learned at the octagon, the traitor, the true nature of Jabberwock Island and the students themselves, or how they were possibly going to proceed from there. He couldn’t tell her the truth, how could he?! Besides, with his reputation, there was little to no chance she’d even actually believe him. The others even less so. He needed to keep it to himself. For now...for now he had to focus on getting better and staying safe. Even if everything else wasn’t real. He had to. He at least had to do that...for her.
Could I request the dr2 girls plus Sayaka and Celeste with an ultimate marksman S/O who was deployed over seas finally coming home to surprise them, but its a bit of a bitter sweet reunion cause they find out hes half deaf cause him and his team were under seige and shelled multiple times by arillery and air strikes? Thank you! I love reading your work!
I'm not gonna lie I feel like I repeated myself in each one
SDR2 girls plus Sayaka and Celeste with an ultimate marksman male! S/O who was deployed overseas and ended up deaf
Ibuki Mioda
She was super impatient entire time you were away. She just wanted to hang out with you hug you close and basically do everything you usually do.
The worst part was that she didn't even knew when you were coming.
But she still was prepared each day for your arrival and yes that includes the first day of your departure.
She was just so excited to see you again and each time she opened the door to her apartment she hoped that the person on the other side was you.
When she opened the door her smile was so bright but you couldn't hear her voice wich was heartbreaking.
She was asking you questions a lot actually so when she didn't hear any response or any word from you really she was worried.
When you saw that look on her face you took out a piece of paper that you had previously prepared. It said that you had gone deaf.
She didn't knew how to react but she was more worried about how are with it.
As the time passed Ibuki didn't change but she definitely often forgot about this whole thing.
Obviously enough she learnt sign language with you and she also had this idea that you whould have special signs and it was pretty cute honestly.
Sonia Nevermind
She tried to think of something special for you once you head back but she didn't knew when you whould come back.
So she just waited. Of course she missed you but she tried to not think about it too much.
Considering that whenever she did she was worried. After all your talent was quite dangerous.
When you returned she was so glad you were okay... The thing is not everything was perfectly fine.
You gave her a small letter that described what happened. As she finished reading her expression was pretty sad.
She hugged you and you stayed in her embrace for a while.
After she pulled away she tried to cheer you up she went to get something to write with and you talked like this for a while.
As the time passed Sonia managed to get used to it she also taught you sign language (that is if you don't know it).
Akane Owari
She was pretty bored whenever she wasn't training or eating honestly.
She just couldn't wait for you to come back and she wanted to know everything you did out there too.
So she was pretty bothered that she had no idea when you are coming back.
But before she knew it you were back and she was too happy to see you. So obviously she was confused when she saw your mixed expression.
She asked if something happened and even though you couldn't hear it you knew what she said. You gave her the note that shortly explained what happened.
She was still just as confused but after she looked at it she couldn't belive her eyes.
Of course it was because she felt bad for you but she just wasn't sure what she should do.
It was obvious to her that she had to help you cheer up in any way possible.
Even if you were okay she still wanted to make you smile.
As the time passed she got used to it pretty quickly and she never let you feel down about the whole thing.
Peko Pekoyama
She was very patient and didn't worry too much about you. Still it doesn't mean that she didn't miss you.
Almost all the time she thought about you wich made her realize that she doesn't know when you will come back.
It was pretty inconvenient since she wanted to greet you properly.
Once you got back and met up with her she smiled at you brightly and asked how was it out there.
But she was met with silence it was pretty akward since you didn't hear her question. So you gave her the little note you prepared.
As she was reading what was on it her expression changed into serious one.
After she was finished with the note she looked down and you knew that by this point she was blaming herself for not protecting you back there even though she had no way of doing so.
You took her hand wich led her to look at you you said "Peko don't you dare blame yourself"... Well you almost shouted considering you had no idea how loud you were.
She shook her head just like she wanted to say "I'm not doing so" wich both of you knew was bullshit.
She knew that it wasn't her fault but if she went there with you it whouldn't happen. But now wasn't the time for blaming.
She quickly got used to it and the two of you were studying sign language together. In the meantime you had your own ways of communicating. But at this point you understand each other so well that sometimes you don't need to talk in order to communicate well.
Mikan Tsumiki
While you were away her anxiety was killing her she thought that in the end you might leave her and stay whenever you were.
On top of that she was dead worried about what might happen to you. After all your talent isn't the safest.
She knew you were okay she knew that you were more than capable to take care of yourself. But she couldn't get rid of those dark thoughts no matter how hard she tried.
Once you came back all her worries disappeared since she didn't see anything wrong with you so obviously she assumed you were alright.
She hugged you tightly and cried saying how worried she was... But you heard nothing.
After she pulled away you had this serious look on her face. Wich caused her to think that you met someone while you were out and that you were breaking up with her.
That is until you started looking in your pockets and took out a note. As you handed it to her she looked inside right away.
When she was done she dropped in on the ground but she picked it up right away. She started apologizing but she realized that you couldn't hear her and started apologizing for that...
Needless to say it took a while until she calmed down. When that happened she bowed as an apology for making such scenes.
Obviously enough her feelings were the same towards you.
She asked if you knew sign language cuz if you didn't she could teach you.
Chiaki Nanami
She missed your company but the time flied quickly for her. Before she knew it you were back and to her it didn't feel like it took long either. Still she was just as happy to see you.
Before she said anything you gave her a note and obviously she started reading it.
Her eyebrows rose slightly and her face expression was serious. She quickly took out her phone and typed "Are you okay? Do you want to talk about it?"
Chiaki tried to be as supportive as possible but she didn't go too far. After all she didn't wanted to make you uncomfortable.
Mahiru Koizumi
She was happy that you had a chance to develop your talent even further but she still was worried about you.
Still entire time you were gone she just did what she usually did without you and time flied pretty fast for her.
She was super happy to see you again. But your expression made her worry. After passing her the note things were clear.
She acknowledged it and asked how we're you feeling about this.
If you wanted space she had not problem providing it if you wanted comfort she did just that and when you didn't wanted anything to change she respected your wish.
After all she didn't wanted to come off as insensitive. It was very important that she made sure you were feeling okay.
Hiyoko Saionji
She actually didn't wanted you to go but she couldn't stop you from doing so.
So she was a bit whiny on the day of your departure but it could be worse.
But she was mad at you for not saying when you whould come back. It just made her wonder every day if today was the day.
So she was prepared to yell at you for that... But when she saw you she completely forgot what she wanted to say- she still was mad but she just gave you a hug.
Afterwards she asked "Now tell me what you did out there that I had to wait so long to see you"
You sighed wich confused her. It was the time to bring the bad news... You gave her the note.
"WHAT!?" she said as she finished reading. "Please tell me it's a joke" she added as you didn't respond to her.
When she realized it was real she didn't knew what to do. There was so much on her mind.
She wanted some time to think about it but she assured you that she doesn't love you any less.
After that time passed you two spoke to one another finally. She was calm and you communicated well.
In the end she was back to normal and she did occasionally forget about your condition. But your relationship didn't change at all.
Sayaka Maizono
It just happened that when you announced that you were going to be deployed overseas she had a concert planned.
So she was just working as usual when you were developing your talent further. She was very focused but on each break she thought about you.
When you were back she was so happy to see you again but she figured you had to be exhausted after all of this traveling you did so she didn't bother you with any questions and warmly greeted you instead.
You felt quite stupid when her smile disappeared after she started reading the note.
She was allways prepared for everything... But this? She was speechless.
It was mainly because she didn't wanted to say anything out of place.
You and Sayaka were really close and you often didn't even need to speak in order to know what the other feels.
Thanks to that everything turned out good in the end but sometimes you could feel Sayaka being quite distant or lost in thought...
Celestia Ludenberg
She actually couldn't care less about your departure. Of course she whould rather you to stay but if you felt like you had to she had no complaints about it.
She found more or less things to kill time and to her time flew so fast she didn't even realize that you were back already.
Greeting you with a smile on her face she was unaware of little accident... But she found out about it the second she finished reading small note you gave her.
Her expression bearly changed as she gave you a response. She asked you for a pen wich you quickly took out.
She wrote there simply "I understand" she watched your expression closely in order to determine for herself what you think of this situation.
But in the end she didn't change her behavior at all. She very quickly adapted to your situation and when you needed her she was there for you.
Fictober 2019-Day 21
Title: Chapter 17: Hope
Prompt number: 21 "Change is annoyingly difficult." Fandom: Danganronpa (SDR2) AU: Hinata/Kamukura stop Junko before despair Rating: T Warnings: none Tags: SuperDanganronpa2, Komahina A/N: this is the last one for this series! i really had fun doing this lil run, even though it was challenging at times and it was super late almost all the time, i really enjoyed it :) ill make a post that will serve as a masterlist later, to make reading these easier, since adding links directly to these might just make it more complicated
««»»
"You need to rest, asshole."
"Fuck you, fucking Reserve trying to tell me what to-"
"Call me a Reserve one more time and I will dump alcohol on your burn. Do not test me."
"Owada, please try to calm down," Kuzuryu chimed in. His words were light, but the threat was obvious in his eyes.
Owada just scoffed and settled back onto his mat, allowing Tamaki to move to the next student without having to worry about the pushy male trying to leave again.
Hajime watched the spat, sighing lightly. He continued his round, only pausing to wave at Kuzuryu. The blonde gave him a small nod before Tamaki called him over to help her redo someone's split stitches.
When he circled back around, he found Komaeda waiting at the door right where he had left him. Hajime felt something in him twist every time he saw the boy, but he was sure he had it under control now. Over these past few days, Komaeda was more annoying than charming, which he never thought could be possible.
"They're still fighting Hinata-kun," Komaeda remarked with a smile.
Hajime shrugged and shouldered past Komaeda. He briskly entered the hallway, not waiting for Komaeda to follow. Hajime knew he would. And he did. Of course. It was ironic, really. Hajime used to follow Komaeda around, and now Komaeda dared not leave his side. It was hard at first, but Hajime grew used to his presence. It became normal. Comfortable. Like nothing had changed.
Everything else in this past week, though, had changed. Ever since the Ultimates blew up Hope's Peak, everything had been in a state of chaos. There was currently no government, no order, no anything. Chiaki kept urging him to claim the role, but he knew it wasn't for him. He wasn't a political figure. Against her wishes, he was arranging for an election, a new government. The Future Foundation. Someone to take it out of his hands. Everything.
Until then, he still lead what resembled a refugee camp. Students, varying in injuries and mindsets, crammed themselves in his small building. They came to him with all their problems, Reserves and Ultimates alike, and he gave them hope. Encouraged them. Told them it would get better.
And honestly, it was. Everything about the outside world was getting better, crime was going down, there were less untalented orphans, more people looking out for each other. It was like everyone sensed the shift.
Komaeda caught up to Hajime in no time, his long legs outdoing Hajime's smaller strides. He leaned over and into Hajime's view, smiling at him.
Hajime sighed and gave into his wordless request. "Yes, but they are fighting less."
Komaeda grinned. Hajime tore his eyes away from him. "Do you think they will ever stop?"
Did Hajime? If anyone else had been asking that question, he knew he would have to say yes without any hesitation. He had to. It was expected from him. He was Hinata Hajime. He was hope.
But with Komaeda... it was different. Komaeda didn't care about anything that was going on. He had his luck, and he knew it he could make it through. If he didn't, then he wasn't meant to. So Komaeda wasn't looking for a real answer. He was not asking a question. He was playing a game, and Hajime didn’t want to be apart of it.
"Yes, of course," Hajime stated blandly, shooting Komaeda a pointed look.
Komaeda's grin grew wider, and this time, Hajime couldn't look away. "You think they can change?"
"Yes, or course," Hajime repeated, his words as dry as the first time he said them.
"You think..." Komaeda's grin faltered, just for a millisecond. It was so quick, Hajime almost thought he imagined it. Almost. "You think everyone can change?"
Hajime slowed to a stop and faced Komaeda. This was the first time Komaeda had brought up anything besides how much he sucked or about how the Ultimates were doing or about hope and despair.
This was the first time he asked about them.
Hajime knew the ball was in his court. He knew he had to say something amazing. The little bit of hope that burned deep within him was licking at his throat, flickers of flames trying to reach his head. He wanted to say yes, not because he had to have hope, but because he wanted to have hope. He wanted to believe that people could change, everything could change. They could... change.
"Change is annoyingly difficult," Hajime began. He didn't know where to look, so his eyes darted everywhere. His hands, his shoes, Komaeda's hair, Komaeda's mouth, Komaeda's eyes- he stopped. Komaeda's eyes looked different. They didn't have their usual disconnected and apathetic glaze. They were worried. Concerned. Alive. He cared. His hope leaped from his heart to his mouth. "But as long as they are willing... as long as they have hope... anything is possible."
Komaeda smiled, nodded, then motioned for Hajime to continue walking.
Everything had changed, but Hinata had hope that it would be for the better.
Red Butterflies - chapter 3
Here is the update, even if I still don’t think anyone is reading this fic here.
Read on AO3
Juzo Sakakura was sitting on a chair, watching his friend pacing around the room. This was quite an usual occurrence, but this time, Kyosuke seemed more nervous than he usually was. He kept staring at him for a few more minutes, until the white-haired man returned his glance. Then, Juzo lowered his gaze and stared at his hands. Dammit, he thought, he knows exactly how I feel about him but I’m still acting as if I were supposed to hide it – as if he hadn’t told me that it was okay and he did return my feelings, but that I just had to be patient. On top of that, I’m just sitting here, in silence, when I know damn well that something is bothering him. It’s both because of and thanks to me that he’s in this position, but I’m still useless. I really don’t deserve to be his right-hand man, especially not when I’m acting like a silly school boy with a crush on the popular guy. I need to snap out of it.
He did eventually snap out of it, but as always, it was a second too late. Gekkogahara-san, their former classmate, had already made her way into the office. Kyosuke gestured for her to come closer, having her sit across from him, and right next to Juzo. As every morning, it was also Kyosuke who started the conversation going, while Juzo just sat there silently, cursing himself for not being more assertive in his presence and when he needed him:
“How was Kamukura-kun this morning?”
The question remained up in the air for a few more seconds than usual, as if Gekkogahara-san was thinking about what to say. Juzo was once again about to speak when she began typing. The voice of the avatar she used to communicate soon filled the room:
“I think we’ve finally begun to make progress. Kamukura-kun had a very light dream last night, but he didn’t want me to tell you about it. From what I understand, it’s related to video games. He said he saw a pixelated spaceship. There’s only one problem though, he said he doesn’t want to play video games again today. You know, the usual complaint about how boring it all is. Except he’s never made such a request about anything else you’ve had him do over the past year, so there has to be something going on.”
“Thank you, Gekkogahara-san. Was there anything else?”
“Well, I have a request, you know, as your former classmate.” Juzo noticed that she made her avatar, Usami, wink at Kyosuke. Even though she was constantly hiding behind that pink rabbit, he almost envied the confidence she’d gained through it.
“What would that be?”
“Don’t ask Kamukura-kun to play video games—”
“But you said they’re the reason for the recent progress.”
“If you force it on him, you’ll ruin that progress,” Usami’s high-pitched but soft voice explained. “I am as excited as you to see that Kamukura-kun may be secretly experiencing something other than boredom, but I don’t want to rush it. We don’t know what any of it means yet. It could be dangerous.”
Juzo threw a quick glance at Kyosuke, who seemed slightly annoyed with what he’d just heard. Despite that, the white-haired man complied, and told Gekkogahara-san that he would see her tomorrow morning at the usual time. And just like that, their former classmate was gone. It was just the two of them again. Juzo stared at one of the immaculately white walls of the office until he finally decided to speak:
“Are you going to listen to her?”
“She knows better, doesn’t she?”
“But you said that when the Kamukura ordeal would be taken care of we could finally—”
“Enough, Juzo,” Kyosuke snapped. “While it’s true that intend to step down from the position of chairman and to give it back to Kirigiri-san so that I can focus on my….” He paused, swallowing loudly, as if what he were about to say was wrong. “Personal matters, it doesn’t mean that I want to rush any of this. It would be bad if I handed this back to Kirigiri-san without making sure everything has been thoroughly dealt with. Kamukura-kun may not be a threat now, but that doesn’t mean he won’t become one in the future. You know how Kirigiri-san is. He lacks the strength of a true leader. I care too much about this academy to leave it before fully fixing it.”
Juzo’s heart sank as he heard his words. He felt like screaming at him, only to ask him if cared about anything other than that damn academy, and if he even cared about him. He wanted to tell him that they should forget about this academy, but he did none of it. Instead, he just nodded and went back to staring at the wall. He was tired of constantly having to put on this tough guy act, as if nothing affected him, but he had to. He was the Former Ultimate Boxer; the epitome of manliness. He couldn’t afford to let his feelings get the best of him. It had saved them against Enoshima, but it wouldn’t save them again. The only problem was that ever since he had confessed to Kyosuke, it had become harder for him to repress it.
“Very well, what can I do to help?”
Kyosuke slowly paced towards one of the shelves, pulling a file from it. It was labelled ‘Class 77’ and contained the profiles of all the students from that class, as well as Yukizome Chisa’s, their homeroom teacher. He placed the file on the desk and started flipping through it, and stopped on one page.
“This is Nanami Chiaki,” he spoke. “She’s the Ultimate Gamer. From what I have gathered from Matsuda’s notes on the Kamukura project, Hajime Hinata, Kamukura-kun’s vessel, used to be very close to her.” He tapped a finger on her picture, pointing at the hairclip. “I think that’s the spaceship Gekkogahara-san was talking about.”
“Why didn’t you tell her?”
“Because, I plan on going against what she said,” he whispered, now pointing towards the door and making Juzo understand that it was possible their former classmate was spying on them. He didn’t think she was the type to do that, but he knew how careful Munakata-kun was. “I will make sure they keep playing together, even today. But I need you to find out what game that hairclip comes from.”
Juzo wanted to ask him why, or how to go about it, but decided against it. He finally had a good opportunity to impress him again, and he wasn’t going to let it pass. After almost a year of constantly screwing up, he was grateful he had been given a simple enough task. He stood up, facing Kyosuke and lowering his gaze so as to stare in his deep blue eyes.
“I will bring that information to you before the end of the day,” he promised.
“Just don’t be reckless, I don’t want Gekkogahara-san to figure us out.”
Juzo gave his friend a quick nod, and stepped out of the office. In the hallway, he looked out the window. The sun was shining bright, bringing him that extra hope he needed to carry on with his task.
 XXXXXXX
The bell rang, letting everyone know that the day was over. Chiaki stood up and waved goodbye to her classmates as she walked out the door. She stepped outside of the building, smiling as she felt the sunlight hit her pale skin. There was something else she wanted to do today: go home and play video games with Izukura. Despite the fact he’d been calling the games boring the entire time they were playing, she had a feeling that he would be online again tonight, and that she would finally get to beat him and show him that video games were fun. She wasn’t too sure why, but even though she didn’t know anything about the person hiding behind that username, she was intrigued by them. If she were entirely honest, part of her couldn’t believe that they were actually bored last night. Maybe it was wishful thinking, but she felt as though it was all an act. No one around her had ever been bored playing video games after all, not even her most inexperienced classmates.
As she was thinking about which games they would play tonight, she bumped into someone. Chiaki absentmindedly apologized before looking up at the person. All she saw was a mass of muscles, tan skin, and short, wavy green-ish hair. She quickly realized that she’d bumped into Juzo Sakakura-san, the headmaster’s right hand man. At that moment, she almost envied Komaeda-kun’s luck. This would have never happened to him.
“Are you okay?” Chiaki’s eyes widened, as she processed these words. Those were exactly the first words Hinata-kun had exchanged with her when they had first met. In spite of what she had promised herself yesterday, the memories that were suddenly flowing back made her upset.
“Yes, I should have watched where I was going. I’m really sorry,” she replied, walking away as quickly as possible. She didn’t want to be here. The sky was starting to turn a bright orange, just like it had on that evening. The setting was so similar that it was unbearable.
“Wait, you’re Chiaki Nanami, the Ultimate Gamer, right?” She nodded, still unable to face him. “This may be a weird question,” he continued, “but I remember playing the game your hairpin is from as a teenager but I can’t remember its na—”
At that point, Chiaki’s brain tuned out. Why was he asking her about Gala Omega? Why did this moment seem to mirror her first encounter with Hinata-kun? Why was one of the most important members of the academy’s staff so interested in her all of a sudden? Had she really bumped into him, or had he been standing in her way so this would happen?
“Nanami-san, are you okay?”
“I’m sorry, Sakakura-san, what was the question?”
“What’s the name of the game this is from,” he replied, pointing at her hairclip.
She tried to speak, but no sound came out of her mouth. The air she had inhaled in order to speak seemed to be stuck in her throat, forming a lump that made breathing harder than it had ever been. Chiaki wasn’t sure what was happening to her. She could faintly hear Sakakura-san calling her name, but the world around her seemed to be spinning. She dug her fingernails into her palms, as though she were trying to anchor herself to something. Her vision became blurry and, as she lost her balance, she was surprised not to crash onto the solid concrete beneath her. Instead, she felt something warm. A few seconds later, everything around her turned black. The last things she remembered were thinking about how much she wished she’d never met Hinata-kun, and hearing Sakakura-san muttering something about messing up.
 XXXXXXX
Juzo cursed himself as Nanami-san’s small frame collided with his arms. He had no idea what had just happened, but he got that familiar feeling that always occurred after botching whatever mission Munakata-kun had assigned him. Yet, he knew it wasn’t too late. With all the buzzing from the students of the academy walking back to their dorms, his conversation with Nanami-san, and her eventually fainting had seemingly gone unnoticed. That meant he still had time to take her to the nurse’s office without being questioned by any of his former classmates. If he were lucky enough, Mikan Tsumiki’s shift would have started by the time he would reach the office. The Ultimate Nurse definitely lacked the confidence to go against orders, or to ask any type of question to anyone who gave them to her. It would be easy enough to ask her to hide this from others. Having a more concrete picture of what he was supposed to do now, Juzo rushed to his destination.
He eventually reached the nurse’s office, after what had felt like hours – though in reality, he knew it’d only been a few minutes. He had been on edge the entire time, scanning his surroundings before every step to ensure that he wouldn’t run into Gekkogahara-san, or worse, Yukizome-san. While it was the former that Munakata-kun had asked him to keep this a secret from, Juzo knew that he could always make up a story explaining why he had been with Nanami-san when she passed out if he saw her. That would probably stop her from being too suspicious or reporting anything to their boss. Besides, it was unlikely that she would even recognize Nanami-san, or know who she was. She hadn’t even mentioned her in her report to Munakata-kun. This would be okay. Yukizome-san, however, was too close to Munakata-kun to hide anything from him. She was still, even though he knew the other man had been avoiding her, his girlfriend, and she still called him every night. Juzo knew this because he usually was around when his crush’s phone would ring, and hearing him pick up and talk to her always made his stomach turn. He used to be able to deal with their relationship, but now that Munakata-kun knew how he felt and seemed to reciprocate, things were different.
Juzo gently opened the door to the nurse’s office without knocking, taking a glance inside. Once again, he ruined everything.
“Fuck,” he breathed, just loud enough for the head of blue hair that was inside the office to turn towards him.
“Wh-what happened to Nanami-san?” Tsumiki-san asked, rushing towards him.
Having lost all his composure after seeing Gekkogahara-san in the room, Juzo was unable to lie. “We were talking and she suddenly passed out,” he mumbled before pausing. The Ultimate Nurse had him lay the young girl on one of the beds. “It may be that she’s not eat—”
“Well,” Usami’s voice chimed in, “this may be nerdview, but maybe whatever you were talking to her about stressed her out. You’re one of the higher-ups, it would make sense. I’ll do a little check-up when she comes to. Munakata-kun is waiting for you, anyway.”
“…Really?” Juzo, hesitated. He wanted to tell Gekkogahara-san that she was wrong, but he knew it was pointless. Besides, despite the fact she was communicating via her avatar, he felt like she knew something already. If she didn’t, she would have asked him what he had been talking to Nanami-san about. Staying here and protesting would only make things worse, so it was better to comply. Things were already bad enough as they were, but there was still a chance that Munakata-kun would never hear about this. “I’ll go then. Thank you.”
I don't know if you take requests or things but i really like your writing. But can i get some jealous!Kuzuhina (like they both like each other or are dating and they both get simultaneously jealous?) Your writing is really good i love it.
Aw thank you! And I do very much take requests so thank you for the prompt! This took a while because I got fixated on figuring out UK peerage and titles and barely any of it made it into the fic that got longer than intended as per usual lol. Not sure if this quite what you had in mind but I hope you enjoy!
Title: Under Sunlight // AO3Word Count: 4,670Warnings/Tags: G. Victorian au sorta, established relationship, secretly dating, i took liberties with uk peerage, not historically accurate, a little past one-sided peko/fuyu(the kids’ former high schools are their ‘territory’ for their titles, so Duke Green Hills is gottagofast Togami)
Hajime’s nerves battle between excitement and dread andanxiety that is not entirely because of the fairly rocky carriage ride. Hecan’t seem to sit still, smoothing his hands over his legs, buttoning andunbuttoning the cuffs of his shirt, fidgeting with the lapels of his coat. Chiaki,sitting across from him, reaches over and stills his jumping knee.
“You’ve been to parties as my companion before. And we knowMakoto and Kyoko. What’s wrong?”
Hajime sighs. “I know. It’s nothing, just, he’ll be there.”
“I don’t understand. Shouldn’t you be more excited aboutthat?”
Hajime shrugs helplessly. He should. He hasn’t seen his loverin months and letters are nice but never enough. And it’s not like he can talkabout his lover since no one but Chiaki knows that his lover is the Marquess ofSuzuran, Fuyuhiko Kuzuryuu.
They are something that shouldn’t have happened, couldn’thave happened if not for chance. Chiaki’s world alone is something that Hajimeas a boy didn’t think he’d ever be a part of. And he’s still not, not really.He isn’t an earl or even a baronet, he’s Chiaki’s friend and valet. The linesare blurred and they’re already stomping over the lines of propriety andtradition and Hajime wasn’t about to test his luck with making his andFuyuhiko’s relationship public knowledge. Even with Chiaki, Fuyuhiko is of aprestige that is out of Hajime’s reach. He cherishes every second he can bewith his marquess.
“To the public, we don’t know each other,” Hajime finallysays. Even if he wanted to use Chiaki he couldn’t, his best friend and hislover are in completely different circles. Makoto and Kyoko’s engagement partyis one of very few parties where different ranking mingle, Kyoko a duke’sdaughter and Makoto a baron’s son. “And I can’t pretend not to know him the wayI do if we’re together.”
Chiaki hums and pats his knee before withdrawing. Theychange the subject and talk about who else will be in attendance, who they’relooking forward to seeing. Who they’re not. Due to the disparity between Kyokoand Makoto’s ranks, their relationship has been the fodder for gossip rags andspiteful gossip since they became public and their engagement party is not theintimate gathering of friends that they would have preferred.
Soon enough, they arrive at the Kirigiri estate. There’s aline of carriages and they wait until it’s their turn to disembark. A footmanopens the door and Chiaki gives their names as he helps them out. Free of thecarriage, Hajime smooths out his clothes and offers Chiaki his arm after shesorts out her dress. They walk arm-in-arm past the tall gates of the estate andimmediately come into a large garden party. There are patio tables andlace-decorated umbrellas. Servers mill about holding silver platters ofchampagne and lemon water. A band plays a gentle number that a few pairs danceto on the grass.
There are many familiar faces around, some Hajime knowspersonally and others he knows only by reputation. One of the tables has beenrepurposed for cards with spectators gathered around Lady Celestia and HisGrace Green Hills, Lady Touko hovering by His Grace. Sonia is in discussionwith Gundham and Kazuichi. Nekomaru, Akane, Lord Leon, and Lady Aoi are in themiddle of some sort of ball game with Dame Sakura keeping an eye on them.
“Ah, there’s Kyoko!” Chiaki says. She tugs Hajime towards asmall gathering. In the center of it is the happy couple, Kyoko drawn into thethick of the conversation and Makoto standing by her side. They’re with peopleHajime doesn’t know but when Makoto catches sight of them he looks relieved andextracts himself from the gathering after a word to Kyoko.
“Chiaki, Hajime, thank you for coming.” He seems to want toreach out for a hug but they’re in mixed company and restrains himself to abright smile and the use of their first names.
“Congratulations, my lord,” Hajime says teasingly, claspingMakoto’s hands in place of a hug.
“I’m not a lord yet.” Makoto flushes pink from embarrassmentand happiness, maybe a bit from the sun bearing down on them. He looks back toKyoko who’s glancing towards him. It’s absolutely sickening and Hajime couldn’tbe happier for them, if a touch envious.
They spend a few minutes catching up, and it’s mostly Makotothat has had major changes in his life since they last saw one another. He’s inthe thick of legalities to make Komaru the heir of their family’s barony afterhe marries into the Kirigiri family. He’ll become an earl of one of theKirigiris’ smaller lands when Kyoko inherits her father’s duchy.
They’re in the middle of discussing and lamenting all thatis involved in the preparations for Makoto and Kyoko’s wedding when Hajime hearssomeone say, ““Oh, the Marquess brought only his knight. Maybe there issomething to the rumors.”
Hajime can’t help turning around and there he is, in a darkthree piece suit with matching coat and a dark gold tie fixed in a perfectknot. And on his arm is Dame Peko, in a suit-styled dress that matches withFuyuhiko. They look a powerful pair.
Hajime knows he needs to look away, that his face is likelyfixed in a picture of longing and envy, but he soaks Fuyuhiko in. The vest,shades lighter than his coat and trousers with burnt gold fastenings and adarker embroidered design of Eastern styled dragons, is one Hajime remembers. He’dseen it in passing in a shop window the last time he had managed to visitFuyuhiko. He remembers mentioning it but they had quickly moved onto less coherentlyverbal matters.
In any case, he’d been right. The vest looks amazing onFuyuhiko and Hajime wants to peel off Fuyuhiko’s coat to see the fabric infull. They’re stopped by peers and Hajime turns around, trying to pretend hewasn’t staring so openly at the two. Chiaki’s giving him a knowing look heignores.
“I wish I could keep talking with you both, but I can’tleave Kyoko to do all the hosting. After all of this,” Makoto waves his handsabout, “is over, we must get drinks or dinner. I miss you both.”
“Of course, if you can find the time to pull yourself awayfrom your future duties as an earl and the husband of a duchess.”
Makoto rolls his eyes but waves as he returns to Kyoko, takingher arm in his, accepting felicitations and joining conversation.
Chiaki slips her hand from Hajime’s elbow. “I need to run tothe wash closet,” she says. “You’ll be fine on your own for a bit?”
“I’m supposed to be the one watching out for you,” Hajimeretorts. “I’ll be by the buffet table.”
Chiaki asks him to grab something for her before she leaveshim alone. The buffet table laden with bite-sized treats ranging from biscuitsand tea buns to mini-sandwiches and puddings in tiny glass cups. He walks downthe length of it, picking up sandwiches and pastries he knows Chaiki likes. Ashe continues to peruse the offerings, he comes to a tray of fried dough bites.Hajime doesn’t have much of a sweet tooth, but he’s very familiar with thesweet, incredibly unhealthy snack.
He reaches for the pair of tongs to grab a few of the darkstrips of dough and brown sugar but someone else has the same idea. He looksup, apology halfway off his tongue but stops short.
“Lord Suzuran,” Hajime says in a mix of surprise and trainedgreeting. He barely remembers not to call Fuyuhiko by name.
Fuyuhiko’s face is impassive but Hajime notes the way hiseyes flash in amusement. He’d done this one purpose.
“Mr. Hinata,” Fuyuhiko returns. He takes the tongs and loadsup his plate with his favorite food. “You like these?”
He’s being unfair but Hajime can’t just ignore him, and ifhe lies Fuyuhiko will never let him forget it. “Um, not really no.”
“Oh?” Then why wereyou going to grab them? remains unsaid but his expression is knowing, mouthcurved in a slight smirk.
“I just know someone who loves them,” Hajime buckles,looking away in his admission. When he looks back to Fuyuhiko, his marquess iseating one of his fried dough treats, licking his fingers of the brown sugarsyrup residue. Hajime follows the movement closely. He’s being so obvious it’sprobably pathetic. They’re out in the open and they’re in vastly differentcircles, not supposed to know each other even as acquaintances. Fuyuhiko’s amarquess and heir to a dukedom and Hajime is little more than the valet andclose friend to a viscountess.
Hajime knows what Fuyuhiko is doing. His lover has made itclear that he’s not exactly happy with keeping their relationship a secret,only doing so at Hajime’s behest. But he doesn’t try to make things easier inthe few times they attend the same social functions.
He tries to find some other topic to switch to and stupidlyasks, “Lady Natsumi couldn’t make it?” Of all the topics to pick this is thelast he could and should have gone with. But he can’t help himself. At least hedidn’t outright ask about why he brought Dame Peko. Fuyuhiko is notorious fornot courting or bringing anyone but his sisters and his knight to events as hiscompanions. His excuse has always been that he has no time nor interest forcourting and society and Natsumi loves all sorts of events so he acts as herchaperone since he doesn’t trust anyone else. It kills two birds with one stonesince it makes him fulfill the social obligations of his position.
“Natsumi’s at school so it’s just me and Peko.” He looksover his shoulder and Hajime follows suit, seeing Dame Sakura and Dame Pekoconversing. The two were schoolmates, Dame Peko a year ahead. They both havesuch rigid and neutral, if somewhat threatening, expressions it’s difficult to tellthat they’re familiar with one another.
He eats another fried dough strip. “I take it you’reaccompanying Lady Chiaki?”
Hajime nods. “Ah yes.” And speak of the devil, Hajime seesher coming towards him. “There she is.”
When she approaches, she links her arms with Hajime’s. “Sorryfor making you wait,” she says to Hajime, and then she greets Fuyuhiko.
Fuyuhiko’s eyes linger at their linked arms, the golden orbsgo flat. He fixes a polite smile and returns Chiaki’s greeting, but he’salready distancing himself. “I’ll leave you two. I should return to Peko.”Without much else, he turns on his heel and walks over to his knight. Hajimewatches after him, his heart heavy. Fuyuhiko slips easily into conversationwith Dame Peko and Dame Sakura and Hajime reaches for champagne from the trayof a passing server. He downs it quickly and grimaces at the after taste.
Chiaki leans against him. “Did I interrupt?”
Hajime sighs. “No. Oh, hey, you like this waltz, don’t you?”
It’s not the smoothest diversion but Chiaki allows him it,and it’s not like he’s lying. It is a waltz Chiaki enjoys due to its ease andsimplicity. Hajime abandons the food he’s lost his appetite for and they joinother pairs on the grassy open space in front of the band, sliding into the familiarsteps.
Hajime does his best not to look at Fuyuhiko whenever theother man is in sight over Chiaki’s shoulder. He tries to focus on Chiaki,chatting and laughing as he spins her around. They dance for two songs beforethey need to take a break. There’s really no cover from the sun. They takerefuge at one of the patio tables and manage to flag down a server with glassesof chilled lemon water. Hajime would prefer they have a quiet moment to themselves,but that’s near impossible at a gathering like this.
Chiaki, like Fuyuhiko, doesn’t always attend socialfunctions. Unless it’s a small and intimate gathering with those she considersfriends, she’d much prefer to be left to her own, literal, devices and books.
But they’re stuck and have to navigate the shifting socialwaters. Or at least Chiaki does. Most tend to ignore Hajime or order him aboutthinking he’s staff. Which he is, but only to Chiaki if he’s attending as hervalet and not companion, and that’s rarely the case if Chiaki can help it.
But today is one such time that he’s treated as less byindividuals that try to simper and curry favor from Chiaki. A lord Hajime onlyfaintly recognizes but cannot recall his title, much less his name, inviteshimself to their table and snidely questions why Hajime is just sitting there,beside Chiaki. Hajime fixes a smile and settles a hand on Chiaki’s knee underthe table to stop her from tearing the lord apart.
“I was resting. I don’t dance often and while today islovely overall, the sun is brutal.” He can’t outright correct the lord of hismisconception, it would go against all sorts of social decorum and Hajime wouldbe the one in the wrong regardless. He doesn’t want to cause Chiaki griefbecause a peer was called out on his behaviour and publically embarrassed by acommoner.
Chiaki adds, “Hajime’s a great friend. He’s always humoringme even at risk of heat stroke.”
The lord pretends it was all in jest and tries to backtrackby laughing the discussion off and moving onto safer topics of estates anddebutantes and the season’s fashion. It’s all over Hajime’s head and topics hecan’t have much say in because of his station. Even if Hajime could and wouldhave wanted to take part, the lord very pointedly directs all his attention toChiaki and all but erects a wall between them. Chiaki pats his hand in supportunder the table.
As conversation is not open to him and he’s not about toleave Chiaki alone with his man, Hajime takes to looking around. The Kirigiriestate is an architectural and landscaped masterpiece with not a stone norbranch out of place. And if structure and décor bores him, the variety ofguests dressed in the broad range of the current fashion provide plenty to beobserved.
But his eyes keep going to the man with buzzed blond hair.And he wishes they didn’t. Fuyuhiko and Dame Peko have moved on to spectate agame of cards. Some uninformed or cocky lord is trying their hand against LadyCelestia. Dame Peko leans down and whispers something in his ear, it looksintimate and Hajime’s stomach twists. He knows better, but he still feels illwhen Fuyuhiko snorts and looks up at Dame Peko with a hint of a smile andreplies, rising up on his toes before she leans back down so he can whisper inher ear.
“Who do I have to see about putting money on the Marquessand his knight being the next society wedding?” the lord says, drawing Hajime’sfocus back to the table.
“If there is such a pool, that’s the last I would bet for,”Chiaki replies.
“Now, my lady, it would be a bit scandalous but look at ourhosts. Anything’s possible, apparently.” The derision is accompanied by rolledeyes directed towards Makoto.
“The illusionary differences of social class have nothing todo with my opinions. And if someone ever thought that of me, they really do notknow me at all, now do they, Hajime?” Rarely is Chiaki curt or cold, but she’sbeen growing steadily irate with their unwelcome table companions A tense cloudsettles over the table and the lord is not so oblivious to not realize he’smade a misstep yet again.
He stumbles over some sort of recovery but Chiaki is lenientenough to save him the trouble. “If you’ll excuse us, I haven’t had the chanceto catch up with Lord Nagito.”
Chiaki gets up and Hajime follows suit but he almost stopsin his tracks seeing just whom Lord Nagito is currently with.
Lord Nagito is an eccentric peer and Hajime has never quiredisliked the man, but he can’t say he quite likes or enjoys his company. Hecan’t quite place Lord Nagito’s feelings towards him either. The odd lord hasfew close companions and by some strange logic one of them is Fuyuhiko. Hajime’snever understood and Fuyuhiko’s never been able to put a finger on it himself.
So he really shouldn’t be surprised that up ahead, champagneglasses in hand, Fuyuhiko is rolling his eyes at whatever Kazuichi and LordNagito are discussing, although arguing may be closer verb.
Chiaki reaches out and holds onto Hajime’s arm, leaning overand saying quietly, “If you want to take a few minutes, there’s probably no onearound the back.”
Hajime hesitates. He doesn’t want to runaway but he alsoisn’t into punishing himself more than he already has. There’s still a goodwhile before it’s acceptable to leave, even with the excuse that he and Chiakiwill be going straight home rather than lodging somewhere in the city. “I’llfind you in a bit.”
Chiaki lets him go after a quick kiss to his cheek. Hajimecan feel stares on them but doesn’t look around. “Go on, I’ll be fine.”
Chiaki goes off and Hajime forces himself not to stare afterher and subsequently Fuyuhiko, turning away and heading for the quieterbackyard of the estate. He walks around the edge of the manor and comes to alarge back garden of the season’s flowers in full bloom. They’re made up almostlike a maze that guides to a gazebo that’s mostly hidden by miniature trees andflowering bushes. Like Chiaki had guessed, there’s no one else around.
He follows along the path and steps into the shade of thegazebo. Inside is a white wicker patio set; a square table set with a glass topand two chairs with intricate weaving. Hajime sheds his coat and folds it overthe back of a chair before he takes a seat, leaning back and closing his eyes. Musicand chatter from the party are a faint noise in his peripheral.
While he doesn’t quite fall asleep, he must have dozed a bitdeeply because he’s blinking out of a daze when someone’s shaking his shoulder.
“Stealing away for a nap?” Fuyuhiko says looking down athim. He’s standing between Hajime’s legs that have ended up in a long sprawland still fuzzy-headed, Hajime reaches out and cups Fuyuhiko’s face, pullinghim down for a kiss.
Fuyuhiko braces himself with one hand on the back of thechair but otherwise falls into the soft but firm and lingering press of mouths.Hajime can feel Fuyuhiko smile into the kiss and it pulls a smile of his ownuntil an applause echoes from the distance and Hajime remembers where they areand that even though the gazebo is out of the way and gives the illusion ofprivacy, it is just an illusion.
It hurts his heart to see Fuyuhiko’s smile dip when Hajimehurriedly pulls away, getting to his feet and trying to create distance withouttoppling backwards over the chair. Fuyuhiko takes a step back and crosses hisarms over his chest. He’s discarded his coat as well and the vest looks just asgood as Hajime thought it would on him. Unfortunately, they’re not in a placewhere he can properly appreciate it.
“I, sorry, I forgot where we were,” Hajime says, smoothingout his clothes to take his mind off of Fuyuhiko’s.
“There’s no one around, Hajime,” Fuyuhiko says. “Everyone’sbusy with champagne and dancing and gossiping.”
“Someone could have the same idea as us and come back hereto take a breather,” Hajime argues. “Any little action lends to gossip andrumors.”
“Doesn’t stop you from fueling the rumors about you and yourviscountess,” Fuyuhiko grumbles, looking off to the side.
“You know those are baseless. Anyone that actually knowsChiaki or me knows that we’re siblings at most. And it’s expected. We grew uptogether. And it’s not like you and Dame Peko are any different.” He shouldstop there, but he can’t help bitterly adding, “At least Chiaki and I havenever had romantic feelings for each other.”
He regrets his words as soon as they escape him. Now he’sbeing unfair and purposely so about something long past. Dame Peko and Fuyuhiko’srelationship is entirely platonic and he knows it. When Dame Peko did havefeelings for Fuyuhiko, it was long before Hajime and Fuyuhiko even met.Fuyuhiko and Dame Peko had been children, it was a first crush that settledinto loyalty and trust and a bone-deep friendship.
Fuyuhiko doesn’t even say anything. He just shoves his handsinto his pockets but Hajime can see they’re clenched into fists within thefabric, his muscles tense. His face goes blank, a flinty steel to his eyes.
“Fuyuhiko, I didn’t—” Hajime tries to apologize but Fuyuhikocuts him off.
“I should be returning. If you’re going to continue napping,there’s a bench close to the doors that won’t fuck up your neck.” With thatFuyuhiko turns around and walks away, quickly disappearing behind shrubbery andreturning to the party.
Hajime falls back into the chair and hangs his head. He’sreally shoved his foot in his mouth now and he’ll definitely have to figure outhow to make it up to Fuyuhiko, if Fuyuhiko will even still talk to him.
It takes him a few minutes to make himself get up and rejointhe party even though he is far from a partying sort of mood. But he can’t disappearand abandon Chiaki until it’s time to go home.
Returning back to the rest of the party, Hajime finds thateveryone is at tables chatting or gambling or discussing business and trade. Theband’s taking a break, their instruments put off to the side under some shade,all of them down water and wiping sweat off their brows. Anyone who was wearinga coat no longer is and sleeves are rolled up. A server stops Hajime and asksif he might take Hajime’s coat, to which Hajime gratefully hands off the itemwith a thank you before looking for Chiaki.
He finds her in the shade of a looming tree with LordNagito, Kazuichi, and Lady Aoi. He joins them and makes an excuse of needingsome time away from the heat for his prolonged disappearance. Chiaki frowns athim, she must be able to tell that something had happened.
“I saw Fuyuhiko slip away for a bit,” she whispers to himwhen they have a second.
Hajime shakes his head. “I messed up.” Fuyuhiko’s across theyard. Hajime meets his eyes for a second but Fuyuhiko quickly looks away.
Chiaki pats his arm in sympathy but says, “I understand yourposition, but it must be hard on him too.”
“It’ll be harder for him if we don’t do this.”
Chiaki makes a noncommittal noise. “It was hard for Makotoand Kyoko. But they stuck together. Makoto was so worried but look at him now.”
Makoto is all smiles that are even softer when turned toKyoko, the sun shining down on them.
Hajime looks to Fuyuhiko and his heart clenches in his chestat the marquess. It’s not obvious to others, but Hajime has learned Fuyuhiko’sbody language and he knows when Fuyuhiko is upset and angry. Dame Peko doestoo. Her usually emotionless mask cracks into a hint of concern and she leansdown to whisper something to Fuyuhiko. Fuyuhiko shakes his head and runs a handthrough his hair. He smiles, a tired one, and Hajime knows it’s his fault evenbefore Dame Peko looks up and shoots him a judging glare. Hajime looks down,ashamed, and lets conversation happen around him, only making noises ofacknowledgement when needed.
Not long later, the band returns to their instruments toresume their next set. Their leader calls for couples, namely Makoto and Kyoko,to take the floor. There’s cheering and clapping as Makoto takes Kyoko’s handand leads her to the center of the cleared space. Other couples and pairssurround them, getting into position and waiting on the band. Everyone who camewith a companion finds a space. Hajime automatically takes Chiaki’s hand andgets into position, ready to move to practiced steps.
But when the band starts, Hajime recognizes the song as thefirst few notes sing through the air and his legs freeze. It’s a song native tohis hometown, a song about fate and true love discovered in touch and a leap offaith. It’s the first song Fuyuhiko and Hajime ever danced to. It was one oftheir first secret meetings, a private indoor picnic of wine and pastries spiritedaway from the kitchens.
Chiaki pats his cheek. “You should dance to this with whoyou’re meant to.” She pulls away from him. “I’d rather raid the snacks whileeveryone else is busy.” And she walks away and does exactly that, leavingHajime standing alone. Someone snickers at him but he turns and finds Fuyuhiko.He and Dame Peko have managed to snag an abandoned set of chairs. Fuyuhiko’sleaning on his elbow and looking at the pairs dancing with a wistful tilt tothe purse of his lips.
Hajime’s been a cowardly idiot. He makes his way around thedancers and comes up to Fuyuhiko. Dame Peko notices him first but she doesn’t domore than send him a warning look and make some excuse to get up and leave. Shedistracts Fuyuhiko long enough that Hajime is in front of Fuyuhiko beforeFuyuhiko can bolt.
“Mr. Hinata,” Fuyuhiko says, cautious, surprised. He quicklyshoots a glare at Dame Peko, quickly figuring out his knight had abandoned himon purpose.
“My lord.” Hajime’s voice cracks at the address, but hesoldiers on. “My lord, would you allow me a dance?” He bows at the waist, armextended, palm up. His hand is shaking ever so and he knows there are eyes onhim. A lowly valet asking a marquess to dance to a love song played at everywedding and engagement party. But all he can look at is Fuyuhiko’s face, hismouth parted in surprise, eyes wide in disbelief. And then he’s smiling, aglimmer in his gold eyes that Hajime has only ever known in privacy andseclusion where they were free to be. Well, where Hajime thought they were freeto be, but they could be free in public too.
Fuyuhiko takes his hand and Hajime almost doesn’t believeit, but he pulls Fuyuhiko to his feet and leads him to an open space, into hisembrace and the first steps of the dance. He leaves the space of proprietybetween them but Fuyuhiko steps in a little too far at the next beat andreduces it to one of intimacy. Anything less was for private rooms or acurtained alcove.
“If we’re doing this, we’re not doing it halfway, Mr.Hinata.”
Hajime laughs and lowers his hand from Fuyuhiko’s shoulderblade to the gentle curve of his lower back. “Then you should be calling me byname, Fuyuhiko.”
Fuyuhiko rolls his eyes at him but he leans up and Hajime’seyes go wide thinking that Fuyuhiko is actually going to kiss him. He’s alreadytaking such a big leap, he doesn’t know if he can qiute go that far though. Butwith a mischievous smile, Fuyuhiko angles to the side at the last second and ittakes a moment for Hajime to register the brief peck on his cheek. Before hepulls away, Fuyuhiko tsks by Hajime’s ear, “There are a few things I’d preferwe keep under moonlight.”
Hajime’s ears are bright red throughout thedance, but his heart is light and full and his smile won’t leave his face forhours to come.
This Is My Despair (Part 1)
(Nagito Komaeda x Fem!Magical Girl!Reader)
Summary: Nagito is a strange person. Everyone knows that. Erratic behavior, erratic looks, most of all, erratic luck. What was supposed to be a good thing makes him feel more isolated. That is, until, he meets the strange new classmate in Hope’s Peak Academy, who may just be the key to realizing the cause of all his despair. But at what cost?
A/n: Inspired by Madoka Magica (one of my favorite animes of all time).
Warning: Mentions of death and other triggering subjects. Please be mindful before reading.
Nagito stared glumly at his phone.
3 A.M.
He was supposed to be sound asleep, dreaming of a fairy tale land where everything was amazing.
But he knew better than most, life was no fairy tale. He turned to his nightstand and picked up a large gold coin, one side having a four-leaf clover, the other, a horseshoe.
He held it atop his forefinger and thumb, contemplating his life and everything he had experienced before. With a slight twist, he flicked the coin into the air and watched it drop directly back into his hand.
Four-leaf clover.
Again.
Four-leaf clover.
Again.
Four-leaf clover.
He snorted and shook his head, knowing exactly why it would never change.
His cursed luck.
For as long as he could remember, all the negatives would be balanced miraculously by some strange luck. Some would say it was amazing to get compensated with money or a new house, but really, was losing his parents the best reason to get those earnings?
It was lonely, struggling with this. Someone was bound to get hurt because of him, but someone was also bound to get healed because of him. He would end up with the turmoils of both parties.
He snuggled back into his bed and closed his eyes tightly.
Another dreamless night passes.
“Hajime, what’s everyone doing over there?” Nagito pointed at the large crowd of students gathered around the fountain. Hajime shrugged, placing a hand on his forehead to try and get a better look.
“I dunno. Maybe we should check it out.” He mumbled.
“I wouldn’t do that if I were you.” Chiaki replied, furiously tapping on her hand-held console.
“Why not?” Hajime inquired.
“New student. You’ll probably get trampled before you even make it over there.” She explained.
The boys nodded towards each other, yet their eyes trailed curiously towards the commotion.
“I think I’ll go.” Nagito swung his bag over his shoulder started to leave.
“Wait! Don’t you think you should-”
“Don’t worry Hajime, I’ll be just fine. Don’t waste your efforts on me. Besides, I have luck on my side, right?” He waved his hand dismissively and crept towards the fountain.
“He’s going to get hurt.” The two remaining students murmured under their breaths.
“So pretty!”
“I heard she’s the Ultimate gangster!”
“No, I heard she’s the Ultimate gymnast!”
“You’re all idiots, none of that is true. I heard she was in the hospital before she came.”
Nagito scooted closer and tried to hear what a group of girls were saying about the new student. Gangster? Gymnast? Hospital? He didn’t know which one to believe.
He was unbelievably quiet, so he underestimated just how far his presence had gone unnoticed.
“Excu-” He began before the girls shrieked. Out of pure shock, one of the girls slapped him roughly across the face, mistaking him for a predator.
“Oh my god! Crap! I’m so sorry, you just came outta nowhere and I-” She began, and her friends huddled over him, the guilt in their faces quite evident.
“Sorry. My fault. I just wanted to know about this new girl that’s going to be joining us.” He explained.
“Oh right...no one knows too much. Some say she was in the hospital, but some idiots,” she eyed her friend, who stuck her tongue out back at her. “Think she was a part of a gang or something. It’s weird, and no one knows how she got in. Usually they’re famous or something.”
“Maybe she’s a part of the reserves?” Another one peeped.
“I’m not a part of the reserves.” A cold voice cut through the somber mood of the school, and the girls shrieked again. Nagito couldn’t see the figure behind them, but he saw a mop of (h/c) hair peeking through. Sure enough, she wore the brown uniform that Hope’s Peak required, but otherwise, he could not make out her face.
“A-ah, sorry! Forgive us!” The girls cried in unison, bowing apologetically. The girl blankly stared at them, clearly un-amused, before she looked up to Nagito. Instantly, green eyes met with (e/c) orbs.
“There’s nothing to apologize for. Next time, just don’t bother with pointless rumors.” She did not break her gaze from Nagito’s, but her face softened gradually.
“Y-yes!” The girls responded before quickly scurrying off to inform their classmates of the new arrival.
“So, who are you?” Nagito tried to break the tension. The girl looked surprised before she relaxed a bit and held out her hand.
“(L/n), (Y/n). Ultimate Archer.”
“Ah, how wonderful. I’d like to see you at target practice one day. It’s so inspiring to see others just so talented at what they do, the real stepping stones of-”
“You haven’t talked about yourself.” She cut him off. Something about the way she said it made him recoil. It was so soft, almost like she’d begin crying at some point. Which was weird to him, but then again, weren’t they all.
“I’m Nagito Komaeda. Ultimate Luck.” He cheerfully replied, shaking her hand back.
“I didn’t know luck could be considered a talent.” She teased.
“There’s a lot of things you don’t know.”
There’s so many things you have not realized.
Introductions were fairly standard. Unlike most of the loud students on campus, (Y/n) introduced herself with a level of poise and mysteriousness to capture their attention.
Interactions were also fairly standard. Many questions were thrown out towards the new girl, some normal, others personal. Teruteru of course, had to throw in comments of his own, mostly pertaining to the appearance of the student.
“T-that’s enough children.” Chisa held out a hand to get them to quiet down before she turned back to (Y/n). “I’ll let you choose a spot to-”
“Blood! Blood!” A shrill voice screamed. The class looked back at Kazuichi, who pointed at (Y/n)’s hand while trembling. Sure enough, on her left hand, red blood was trickling down. She seemed unfazed, while many stared in horror or enthrallment at this event.
“Oh. My cut must have opened. I’ll go to the nurse’s office.” She stated before heading out the door.
“W-wait! Do you even know where it-” The door slammed shut as Chisa sighed in defeat. “Is?”
“Wait a minute, I knew there was something off! Where’s that weird Nagito kid?”
As Nagito walked boredly through the hallways, he stared out the large windows. The sky looked as blue as ever, as well as the clouds looking a pure, milky white. He liked pretty days like this. It meant that luck was on his side.
“Nagito.” He broke free from his reverie and turned to stand face to face with (Y/n).
“Ah, you remembered me! I didn’t think you’d bother associating with trash like me when-”
“I’m sorry.”
“Sorry? Sorry for what?” Now he was confused. He leaned closer and noticed her gripping her left hand tightly, the red splotches on her white undershirt giving away what happened. “Y-you’re bleeding! Here, let me take you to the-”
“Stop. Before you do anything, you need to listen to me. Don’t make that wish. You’ll only hurt yourself in the end.” She stared up at him knowingly, and he saw her eyes get glossy.
“What? A wish? What are you-”
“Just don’t do it. Please.” She remarked glumly before walking past him to the nurse’s office. In a daze, he could only stare back in shock as he tried to process what she meant.
What wish?
It unsettled him and he tried to brush it off as a mistake. Maybe it was a bad practical joke. But a little voice in the back of his mind made him question what was really going on.
“Hajime,do you believe in wishes?” Nagito asked out of the blue.
“Uh, what?” The brunette responded in confusion. “What’s this gotta do with math?”
“Nothing. Don’t mind me.” Nagito forced a smile and continued to walk down the street.
Upupupupu...
Nagito suddenly stopped and gasped loudly, turning his head back and forth to understand what was going on. Hajime cocked his head and stared worriedly at his friend.
“What’s wrong?”
“D-did you hear that?” Nagito said, whipping his head in all directions to try and see anything that may have caused that strange laugh.
“Hear what?” Nagito paused. Maybe there was nothing.
“Never mind. I just thought someone was laughing.” He murmured before continuing to walk.
“Alright...” Hajime shrugged and followed suit.
“Oh, that reminds me, we need to do that project on the Mongols. Do you want to go to the museum right now so we can take notes?” Hajime took out his phone and checked the time.
“I don’t see why not. It would be cool to check out that new section on ties of famous figures.”
“Ah, you never cease to amaze me, Hajime.” Nagito chuckled.
A sudden rush of foreboding swept over Nagito as the two continued walking towards the museum. With (Y/n)’s cryptic words and the sinister laugh, he felt his luck was running out. His heart beat erratically but bit his lip to try and calm himself down.
The museum was uneventful. He didn’t really expect otherwise, but he was slightly amazed that it turned out even more boring than he originally thought. Hajime was excitedly looking at the various ties of politicians and other history-makers, while Nagito was anxiously sitting on a bench near the stairs. The sense of bad luck increased ten fold since he stepped foot in the museum, and he was itching to leave.
Upupupupu...
Upupupupu...
That damn laugh again. Was he going insane? It only seemed to grow louder with each passing second.
“N-Nagito? Nagito! Are you even listening?” Nagito jumped in his seat only to see a slightly annoyed Hajime waving his hands frantically.
“A-ah! I didn’t see you there.” Nagito placed a hand on his chest after the slight scare. The laughter stopped now. God, what the hell was even happening?
“You okay? You seem out of it.” Hajime worriedly asked.
“Y-yeah, I’m fine! See? I’m smiling!” Nagito forced a large grin, and nearly screamed when he heard that laugh again. His hand was shaking vigorously and Hajime grabbed it in shock.
“W-what’s going on? Nagito! Tell me!” Hajime yelled.
“That laugh! It keeps laughing! I don’t know where it is!” Nagito screamed in terror. Again, the laughter had grown louder until it drowned out his terrified whimpers.
“What? There is no laugh-” Hajime cut himself off as he began to hear a dark chuckle. “...ing...”
“You hear it too? God, I thought I was going crazy...”
Hajime investigated near the stairs and noticed the laughter sounded louder and clearer down there.
“I think it’s there...” He pointed at the dark, restricted stairs. Nagito shook his head and quickly ducked under the velvet rope that closed the stairwell off from the public. Hajime shouted but ultimately did the same thing, descending upon the dark staircase.
He whipped out his phone and turned the flashlight on, the dark corridor very dimly lit. It creeped out both boys as the laughter got even louder before dying out suddenly. Not only that, but a loud crash was heard, and unintelligible yelling.
“What the hell?” Hajime whispered, gritting his teeth to not scream. Nagito was frozen, but he was slightly interested in the commotion.
He didn’t know why, but he began walking towards the sounds, completely ignoring Hajime’s protests. He felt disconnected from his own body, like he was an outsider looking in.
The shouting got louder.
“Shut up! I’ll find you-and I’ll kill you myself!” A familiar voice screamed. Wait... could that be? No, it was impossible...
“Upupupupu, we-we-we-we-we-we-” A robotic voice glitched, and Nagito realized that...thing, was the cause of all the laughter. But how? “We always find a way...despair! Despair! Despair!” It cried until a loud scream, followed by more crashing and buzzing, shut it up.
Hajime ran up, flashlight glowing as he moved, and pointed it at Nagito.
Finally able to see, he looked at where the commotion happened and screamed at the sight.
On the floor was what he had assumed before, a robotic teddy bear was ripped and broken to shreds, wires sparking as it had a menacing smile on it. The figure standing on near it gasped and swung her head towards the two boys, and Nagito’s suspicions were correct as he stared back at (e/c) eyes.
“(Y-Y/n)...”
Reader helps Nagito in his plan to expose the traitor
Came up with this one on my own, just something for you guys to see my style of writing for if you want to request :)
Category: Angst Imagine
Specifics: GN!reader, obviously takes place in chapter 5, reader is Ultimate Actor
Warnings: Gore, swearing
I legit finished this but forgot to save and had to rewrite it all over again-
Tumblr media
Nagito had told his lie of planning on blowing the island up. You, of course, saw through his bullshit, there was no way he had more than one bomb from the Ocagon. And he had just used it. So when you had stopped him walking away from the restaurant and confronted him, he let himself take his chances.
The boy had decided to confide in you after a minimal amount of convincing. There was no use in lying to you, especially when his time to execute his plan was limited. He told you what he knew. Absolutely all of it.
He told you how you were all Remnants of Despair, the 78th class’ killing game, Hajime’s “identity crisis”, about Junko Enoshima, everything. He even shared the fact that you had your left eye replaced with Junko’s while some other classmates, including himself, had other body parts.
While his claims were unbelievable at first, you could tell he wasn’t lying. He took you to his cottage and showed you the book he had received in the Octagon and he got some sort of poison. It was insane, yet it explained so much: Mikan’s behavior, Hajime being talentless, the swirls in Nagito’s and Mikan’s eyes when they got despaired, and so much more.
However, with this explanation, you had also gotten a hope/despair rant of how you all deserved to die for being Remnants. And for the first time, you actually agreed with his ideas. This part seemed to shock him slightly before he chuckled and explained what had to happen.
Whilst everyone else was on a wild goose chase for the bombs, the two of you got to work. You were told of the traps he already set up the night prior. He had you tie a spear above him, tie his legs and arm, and finally, made sure no one could hear him through the duct tape. You weren’t completely aware of why he needed that last point, but you guessed you would find out soon.
When leaving the warehouse to “meet up” with the others, his last words before you left had sent chills down your spine;
“Just make sure no one can hear me screaming, Y/n..”
——————
You had finally met up with your classmates just after they left the plushie factory where Nagito set his video message. You discreetly led them to the warehouse, using your talent as a shield of sorts. The domino fire trap had been set off, then they found the grenades in the break room, all according to plan. You made sure to stay back and not throw any of the grenades in case you screwed it up and took the poisoned one.
Once the fire died down, you had entered the next phase of this plan, the part you had to complete alone. You carefully led the group to Nagito’s body, not having to act as the shock of his self-mutilation took over you. Quickly shaking the nerves off best you could, you focused on the rest of the plan. Before you knew it, everyone was in the trial grounds being led by your lies.
That is, until a certain protagonist decides to call you out.
“Y/n, you don’t usually speak up so much during trials,” the boy gulped a bit and suspiciously looked to you. “Especially since you weren’t there until after we found the video.”
“I just want to help as much as possible,” you bit the inside of your lip nervously, “and like I said, I was in my cottage the whole time to avoid being blown up.”
“Then how did you know to lead us outside of the warehouse?”
Shit, shit, shit...
“I-I..” You had to think fast. So you did the only thing you could think of. Besides, all they had to do was vote incorrectly, right?
Lowering your gaze, you let your voice take on a dark tone, forcing a visible smile to tug at your lips.
“Because I killled Nagito.”
The room went dead silent for a moment. It was almost amusing. But you had to finish this plan out.
“I think we can start the votes now Monokuma, I killed Nagito-”
“No that’s wrong!”
Hajime’s voice rang out like an annoying alarm. You looked towards him and raised a brow for an explanation.
“Y/n, I don’t think you killed Nagito. I think you’re covering for something.” Hajime was getting closer to the truth, but thankfully your classmates were short tempered at this.
“What the fuck do you mean?! They already confessed!”
“Buddy, they already said they did it!”
“Hajime, they have just confessed their crime!”
“I don’t get the fuss, just start the voting!”
Their voices tangled together, most ready to start the vote. Unfortunately for you, Hajime apparently had backup.
“Y/n, if you did kill Nagito,” Chiaki’s voice had silenced the others, “then please give an explanation of what exactly you did.” You felt your chest tighten but remained calm on the outside.
Taking a breath in, you relaxed and focused on using your talent to complete your mission.
“When Nagito told us he’d blow up the whole island, I could tell he was lying, so I went to confront him. I knew there was no way he’d get a bomb large enough to take out the whole island. At least, not without any of us knowing beforehand. Plus he already used a bomb, and there was no way he had a second.”
You stated with a truth as you always did before delving into your lies, carefully weaving the two together. You were ready for this rebuttal battle.
“He refused to tell me anything, so I dragged him to the warehouse and tied him up. There, I tortured him to tell me the truth. When that didn’t work, I threatened a painful death.”
The thoughts of having to commit the actions you were describing caused you to pause for just a moment before continuing your faulty explanation.
“He began to mock me, saying I wouldn’t do such a thing. I decided to prove him wrong. I stole the key to his cottage off him and forced him to hold the spear above him. To keep him from screaming for help, I covered his mouth in tape.”
You felt yourself grip your trial stand just a bit tighter.
“I took the poison from his room and placed it in a granade for later. From there, I had set up the rest of the traps like Hajime said. All I had to do then was lead you all along and throw the grenade with the poison into the room-”
“I’ll cut through those words!”
Ignoring the odd word choice Hajime had been using in every trial, you turned to him, annoyed and nervous.
“Y/n, you’re the only one who didn’t throw a grenade,” the ahoged boy pointed out.
“Hey wait a sec- Hajime’s right!” Kazuichi joined in, “You were standing behind us the whole time!”
“So why the fuck are you lying to us?!” Fuyuhiko swore.
“They’re acting a bit like Nagito in the first trial..” Sonia was quiet but you still heard her.
“Do you know who the culprit is or not?!” Akane shouted from across from you.
Now you knew you were in deep shit. If you couldn’t keep the culprit’s identity safe, you would’ve failed. You would’ve failed to keep the world safe from the remaining Remnants.
After a few moments, you had your next course of action planned out. You lifted your head once more and smiled sickingly sweet. You were going to follow what Sonia had said.
You were going to play Nagito.
“Heheh..” Keeping the same dark but nonchalant tone as he always did, you continued, “Yes and no, Akane..”
“What do you mean, Y/n?” The plain boy seemed confused as ever.
“Well you’re the smart one Hajime, so I’ll give you one hint that should pull this together for you..”
The group had gone silent once again, awaiting your words.
“He used our talents to find a certain someone.”
Your head tilted to the side in false glee. Hajime had gone into his own mind for a minute, processing your claim. Once he figured what you meant by that statement, he turned to the group in shock.
“You’re telling us, that Nagito set this up?” He almost looked scared to say such a thing.
“Indeed I am,” You gave a crazed look, “I’m sure you know who the culprit is now, Hajime, don’t you?” The boy gulped once more.
“It’s the traitor.” Hajime looked down, “He was trying to kill the traitor.” At that, you erupted into Nagito’s signature laugh.
“Not quite, Dating-Sim-Protag.” You let out one more chuckle at your teasing. “It wasn’t the traitor he wanted to kill. It was everyone but the traitor!”
You continued your cackle. Having to laugh in his way made you feel guilty for your actions and words. You were hurting everyone. But what had to be done had to be done.
“They’re messing with us like Nagito did!” Kazuichi seemed more freaked out than everyone, as per usual. “Just tell us who the traitor is!”
“Not so fast, Kazuichi,” Chiaki once again calmed down the commotion, “I think Y/n isn’t lying. Nagito wanted the traitor to kill him and be the blackened, right?”
“Y/n,” Hajime kept his gaze towards the floor, “did you really know where the poison was?”
“In the grenades? Yes.” You felt this as your chance to come clean, convinced they couldn’t find the traitor. “Which one, however? I had no clue.”
“Then how would the traitor have known which one it was in?” Sonia was so close to getting it, but Hajime sealed their deal.
“They didn’t, Nagito used his luck.”
“Correct.” You decided to drop the Nagito facade, deeming it unnecessary now. Your face instead fell solemn.
“Why the hell did you help him, Y/n?!” Fuyuhiko’s voice called out.
“I’m sorry, I really am,” You let yourself speak the truth, “but it was what had to happen for the world to be safe. Safe from-”
“Ah, ah, ahhhh!!” Monokuma jumped in, “We wouldn’t want spoilers, now would we!”
You grit your teeth, feeling even more horrible that you couldn’t explain your actions. Although there would be no need to once the vote had started.
“Just..” Your voice fell weak, “..know all but one of us deserve painful deaths. And we’re about to get those as I assume the traitor wouldn’t reveal themselves.”
The room was completely silent. Even Monomi kept her usual whimpering to herself. Monokuma probably would’ve jumped up again if it weren’t for said traitor speaking up.
“I killed him.”
Chiaki’s voice made your head snap up. She must be lying right? No, there’s no way she’d help you and Nagito.. right?
“Chiaki what are you talking about?” Your voice trembled, knowing you won’t know if she’s helping you or everyone else until after the vote.
“I’m the traitor.” She smiled sadly, “Hajime, you want to do your usual run down of the case?”
Hajime’s face was in complete shock along with the rest of us. He quickly shook himself out and nodded. You could tell he didn’t want to vote on his (what you assumed to be) girlfriend. Nevertheless, he gave the story of it all.
“Here’s everything that happened: The person who actually arranged this incident was... the victim, Nagito Komeada. He kept a specific item inside his cottage that he needed for his plan. Monokuma's Special Poison, which he brought with him from the Octagon.
“Using the gloves and gas mask that he got from he military base... Nagito swapped the contents of a fire grenade he took from the Plushie Factory break room with that poison. When he did that, a specific item was left as evidence: the blue aluminum seal on the grenade.
“With that, Nagito finished making the poisoned fire grenade, took it with him to the factory... and put it back with the rest of the grenades in the break room.
“The next morning, Nagito appeared before us and declared that he hid a bomb somewhere... However, one of us wasn’t fooled. That person was Y/n L/n. Through some sort of convincing, Nagito had told them his plan and the two of them got to work.
“While we were looking for the bomb, that's when Nagito and Y/n headed over to the goods warehouse. In order to set up a fire, the two arranged the Monokuma panels in a line going from the door... to the curtain, and placed an oil lighter in front of it. From there, Nagito set his insane plan in motion.
“First, he hung the spear that he took from Nezumi Castle from the ceiling girder by its cord... then he had Y/n tie his arms and legs at the back of the warehouse with rope. However, they burnt off the rope on his right arm beforehand.
“In doing so, they made sure that only his right hand was free while his remaining arm and legs were tied up... As he gripped the tip of the rope hanging over the ceiling girder with his left hand... He laid down face-up, just beneath the dangling spear.
“But this was just the beginning of Nagito's plan, and then...he did something no one could've predicted. First, he covered his mouth with duct tape, and after making sure he was unable to scream... He made Y/n leave and stabbed himself with the knife multiple times in his left arm and in both of his thighs.
“Finally... He propped the knife on the plushie, and slammed his right hand onto the blade! He didn't just want us to think he was tied up, he also wanted us to think he's been tortured... Through all this, Nagito never let go of the spear. His plan still wasn't over...In fact, it was just about to begin.
“Meanwhile, we finally arrived at the plushie factory and found Nagito's message... After seeing his message, we instantly made our way to the warehouse, Y/n leading us there even though they had shown up after we left... But that was part of Nagito's plan. We opened the door to the warehouse, which inadvertently started the Monokuma panel domino effect...
“The panels fell, one after another, until they reached the lighter, tipped it over, and ignited the curtain. Shocked by the sudden fire, we rushed to the factory's break room to obtain some fire extinguishing grenades.
“We then aimed for the fire's origin point, which was the curtain, and unloaded the entire supply. It never occurred to us that one of those grenades was the poisoned grenade that Nagito had prepared... But because Y/n knew it was there, they made a crucial mistake in Nagito’s plan and their later lies... they didn’t throw a grenade.
“The poison sank to the floor, instantly vaporizing due to the intense heat, and spread everywhere... The poison gas quickly drifted to the curtain at the back of the warehouse, where Nagito was. Also, Monokuma's poison has a unique quality in which it becomes heavier than air when vaporized. That poison gas completely surrounded the area where Nagito lay face-up on the floor.
“There, Nagito inhaled the poison, and if it didn't instantly kill him, he certainly lost consciousness... Which caused him to let go of the rope in his left hand, and the falling spear plunged into his stomach.
“But even then, his plan wasn’t completely over as his accomplice, Y/n, had to lie in order to voting wrong. Unfortunately for Y/n, the traitor did something they couldn’t expect... the traitor revealed themself.
“This is all the information related to Nagito's plan. His true intention was to set one of us up as the killer... At the time, we didn’t know who the killer was... Because the killer wasn't aware they killed someone. Try as we might, if the traitor hadn’t revealed herself as Chiaki Nanami, the Ultimate Gamer, we could not reach that truth... That was Nagito's trap.”
You could feel yourself shake as the rest of the trial went on. You didn’t trust your voice to not get all shaky if you attempted to speak. Instead, you simply listened as arguments were made on Chiaki really being the traitor. As well as the insults occasionally thrown your way.
Soon, though, the guilt of failing Nagito and the world settled in as Monokuma declared that Chiaki was indeed the traitor, and possibly worse, correctly voted as the blackened.
———————
As soon as Chiaki’s execution had ended, you made your way out of the trail room and to your own cottage. You didn’t want to end up tied in the warehouse like they did with Nagito in the restaurant so many weeks ago. So when there was knocking at your door, you didn’t answer it.
The knocking continued, but you stayed in your curled up position on the bed. When the knocking finally ended, you sighed in relief, that is, until you heard Hajime’s voice.
“Y/n.. please come out and eat.. you haven’t had anything since this morning..”
That certainly wasn’t what you had expected to hear. You expected scolding, anger, anything other than concern. Hearing a sigh from outside the door, you decided to slip out for just a moment.
When you did open the door, you saw Hajime as he was about to turn and leave. His form seemed stressed, like he’d definitely been crying.
“You aren’t gonna tie me up, are you?” You tried to joke, but your voice was hoarse, your own crying to blame. Even so, Hajime let out a tired chuckle.
“No, I did have to stop Kazuichi and Akane from trying though..” He scratched the back of his neck. A small, breathy laugh of your own forcing it’s way out of you.
“Why aren’t you siding with them?” You looked downward towards your shoes. “I mean I did quite literally act as Nagito and try to get us all killed..” At that, you felt a hand on your shoulder, forcing your gaze back to Hajime.
“If your reason behind doing that was good enough for Monokuma to stop you from revealing it, I think it’s justified.” He gave a weak, but reassuring smile, “The others agreed with me once I pointed that out.”
“Let me guess,” you attempted to lighten the mood once more, “Sonia agreed with you so Kazuichi just magically changed his mind and Akane was forced to join?” The two of you shared a small laugh as he pulled his hand away and to his side. There was a short, awkward silence that followed before Hajime spoke again.
“Just.. please help us figure out what’s going on. With the information you now have, you may not be able to directly tell us, but you can help so much more.”
You felt yourself nod, slightly ashamed. “In that case, there’s something I need to show you and the others. I can go get it-”
“Let’s wait till you get something to eat, okay?”
Hajime, no, everyone was really willing to give you a second chance after you essentially killed two classmates? You couldn’t believe it. But it was the truth. A small smile made it’s way to your mouth and you nodded once more, this time more assured. This made Hajime smile in return.
“Now how about we go eat something before Akane gets to it all, Y/n?”
