Y'know, i just realized something...

Kagami found out ladybug identity and then she gets akumatized, but then she didn't say shit to monarch, but then the VERY next episode, Luka, a guy who literally knows the secret identities of Ladybug and Chat noir, Got fucking akumatized and the for some reason, Monarch read his mind and now Luka got exposed.

And because of that, he had to leave.......

I just have something to say to the writers.....

Don't forget how Marinette almost got akumatized multiple times (Ladybug, Elation, Derision), yet Monarch never learned she was Ladybug.

Also, don't forget Alya (Heroes' Day, Oblivio, Felix, Gang of Secrets), Nino (Heroes' Day, Oblivio, Rocketear), Max (Gamer 2.0), Kim (Derision), and Sabrina (Adoration) all got akumatized after becoming temp heroes, yet Monarch never learned their identities either.

I'm starting to think the writers don't really know what the point of mind reading is.

Cómo muchos habrán visto, Gabriel transfiere todos los poderes de los miraculous a los anillos alliance, también el de la mariposa (este tenía la función de akumatizar a todos), también vimos como Gabriel pudo usar el poder de la abeja sin ser Monarch, lo que quiero decir, es que durante esa guerra, cualquiera que usará el anillo alliance tenía acceso a los poderes de los miraculous

Así q mi conclusión y una pequeña reescritura del final de temporada, es que todos los compañeros de marinett q estaban peleando, también fueran capaces de usar sus respectivos poderes de portador gracias a que alliance los estaba transmitiendo a todo el mundo, claro que con algunas debilitaciónes,

como no poder transformarse en héroe, obtener las habilidades sobrehumanas, el poder "segunda oportunidad" estaría baneado por Monarch, sin acceso a las armas, solo se puede usar un poder a la vez; así q básicamente el anillo solo otorgaría el poder y nada más

Un ejemplo de como se introduce a la historia, sería algo como, Alya siendo amenazada de gravedad por algunos de los akumatizados, entonces Nino quien aún no se habría quitado el alliance, por inercia y sin darse cuenta, se interpone entre Alya y su atacante, y grita su poder, y al no sentir el impacto de su atacante habré los ojos y descubre como protección está activo sobre Alya y el

A mí realmente me hubiera gustado algo así para los compañeros de marinett, cada uno con su respectivo poder y como no son tan fácilmente derrotados por los akumas, dando así mejor apoyo cuando llega Luka, los héroes unidos y Renren (ladydragon)

Rena (Detective Comics 561 / 563-565)

Pre-crisis Jason's girlfriend. They met in high school after Jason was adopted by Bruce. They were both the new kids and found companionship with each other.

Numbers (Batman: Gotham Nights 11)

Briefly lived together at Ma Gunn's. Numbers took punishment in Jason's stead because Jason was kind to him. Jason saved him in return, as an adult, from an assassin.

Gabby Christensen (Red Hood / Arsenal 4)

Homeless kid, along with Jason, who looked out for Jason before he was adopted by Bruce. Would comfort and try to tend to his injuries despite him lashing out.

Max Dawkins (Truth & Justice 10)

Ran with Jason when he was homeless. Jason notes that Max looked after him like a brother and Jason considered him he best friend. Jason would leave money for Max to find after he was adopted. Lets just ignore the fact he was created just to be murdered, he is still alive, fuck you DC.

Dana Harlowe / Strike (Red Hood and the Outlaws (2016) 51-52)

Possibly Jason's oldest friend. Dana's father seem quite familiar with Jason, recognizing him as an adult and remembering him fondly. Dana took up the name Strike to help defend her neighborhood during the Joker War and later fought with Red Hood to save her sister, Denise

Jason was also friends with Edward Bloomberg (Kid Devil) who he was pen pals with, mentioned in the Blue Devil comics. And Roy Harper (Speedy ((at the time)) starting from the New 52 series. Didn't add them because I was focusing on friends outside of the hero life but they deserve the mention.

i am so sorry for the long ask but i am always thinking about bruce’s line in detective comics #790 before the 🤢 victim blaming “he loved cars and girls and getting into fights… neapolitan ice cream and the color green… and most of all the thrill of being robin.” i have turned over every part of this line in my head for ages but here is one aspect

girls: pre crisis? during robin days he did have a gf for a bit named rena, essence and isabel in rhato, rose wilson, idk about red hood: the hill. but even with non romantic relationships he has sasha and duela and kori and artemis and talia (ignoring you know what) and the no longer canon natalia knight motherhood thing vs like roy and bizarro as the guys he hangs out with outside of bats and he even points it out “i feel closer to that big white lump of clay than, well, any guy ive ever known. yeah i knew roy and dick since i was young. but since ive been back? from the dead? hes the first guy friend ive made.” talking about bizarro in rhato and i dont put too much stock in rhato but he really does seem to consistently get along better with women. i dont fully think it is that he finds them less threatening cuz in task force z he was happy to hold his own against multiple bat boys but the second cass showed up he was like oh shit shes scary, plus like sheila is the reason he died and you would think that her betrayal would be a huge part of any ptsd or trust issues he no doubt has. but he also has that line after he and artemis kiss where he says something to the effect that it was a good kiss for a girl and that just… what do you mean by that jason? because you have spent the past lord knows how many issues (with the same writer) kissing isabel and looking back somewhat fondly on your time with essence and while readers can think you have very little chemistry with them the story being told is that all that was cool and good and within the norm for you. so like what does that line in your narration mean jason? if it isnt something you are into than why have you been going around kissing women in multiple instances jason?

Okay, so Jason’s line (“But it was nice. For a girl.” in reference to his kiss with Artemis) comes from Red Hood: Outlaw #41:

Which is actually him remembering events that occurred in Red Hood and the Outlaws (2016) #25:

Here, Jason asks Artemis what she thinks of their kiss, and Artemis says, “It was okay, for a boy.”

Honestly, my (somewhat boring) interpretation of the line in RHO #41 is that Jason is referring tongue in cheek back to Artemis’ quip in RHATO #25. I don’t think it was actually meant to be commentary on his sexuality.

That said, imo, Jason Todd doesn’t really seem like the kind of person who would feel the need to limit their sexuality to artificially constructed binary categories of gender … YMMV 😏

For the Actor AU, how did they feel abt the canon heroes' outfits? If they could, how would they have modified them?

Marinette: Basic as fuck! It looks like I’m wearing footie pajamas! If I were in charge of my costume, I’d give myself a full-on punk look because Ladybug’s are some badass motherfuckers. Oh, and boots that have soles equipped with a shock-absorbing cushion, and a heel that contains a reinforced spring to soften the shock whenever I land. And… Maybe a backpack shaped like ladybug wings to hold my Lucky Charms and anything I need to collect for my plan.

Adrien: Less leather! That stuff shrinks, and a full leather bodysuit is not comfortable. Also, because of the cat holders’ powers, it would be cool if heroes had some sort of medical supplies on them just in case, like stored in a utility belt. And I’m with Mari, those boots sound badass. What else?… Oh, definitely add some more color instead of just basic black.

Alya: Well, the Fox doesn’t seem like a combative hero due to the powers. I see Rena Rouge as a distraction, really, so her outfit wouldn’t be one of those “ready for battle” types. Here’s what I’m thinking, one of those noir-film type outfits. The hat covers my face a bit to give me an air of mystery, and the outfit would look almost casual that no villain would suspect me.

Nino: I mean… Carapace’s look is cool. It’s alright. I’m liking the goggles, but… I’d prefer if he had armor. He’s the fucking turtle hero! He should be ready to take any blow that a villain sends his way!

Rose: Where to begin? Look, you all know me; I love pink more than the next guy, but… Sometimes too much is too much. The Pig Miraculous strikes me as… More farmhand than ballerina. Yee, I know, the heroes come with a tambourine, but come on! While I do love the skirt, I’d trade it in for overalls, either shorts or a skirt. Oh, and add some black in there, too. Daizzi has a black circle around his eye, let him be represented!

Juleka: Studded jacket. That is all.

Luka: Oh, honey, either give me a hood so I can look like a cobra or get the fuck away from me with that outfit.

Myléne: The mouse strikes me as more of the elegant type, I’m not sure why. Maybe it’s the pastel pink mixed with the grey, but I see Polymouse wearing skirts over Pigella. But, that’s just my opinion.

Ivan: Honestly, I’m fine with the canon design for Minotaurox. Yeah, he’s got pockets and padding, I-I like it. And if you show me a better design, I’ll happily take a look at it.

Marc: … I think all of the effort went into making Rooster Bold’s costume. He’s got rooster hair, the little tallons on the back of his boots, and a fucking tailcoat! He and Mayura are the only ones to have tailcoats! I’m not complaining, though. I… I actually like it, but it is a nightmare putting on and taking off that wig.

Nathaniel: Well, I can say I sort of know how some of the girls feel, because that suit was tight as hell! You could see my hip dip! Also, I would’ve liked to have a different hairstyle and maybe some color, because I am the only male redhead around for miles. Oh, and climbing boots becuase, I’m a goat, duh.

Alix: … Do I need to say it? Okay, give me some active wear! I’m traveling through a shit ton of different timelines! I need someone sporty and active when I’m on the go. Also, I’ll need a backpack like Marinette.

Kim: Not hearing any complaints from me! I liked Roi Singe, but being Scarlet Beetle is way cooler!

Max: The glasses can easily come off. What I need is a high collar or a bandana that can cover the lower half of my face in case my glasses become askew or someone is able to place my identity because all I have on my face are some stupid glasses! God, I’m so glad I’m doing this new show now.

Chloé: Oh, I just want wings.

Zoé: Same.

Sabrina: Can mine just not look like my clothes, please?! I’ll take whatever, just not that!

Kagami: I would prefer if I had some form of armor and not a spandex bodysuit. It would need to be lightweight but also durable to allow me to travel faster, of course.

Could Cerise manage to steal some miraculous in season 6 or not ?

So ... according to the ML writting team when they commented the season 5 finale, Marinette would have reconfigured the miraculous stolen by Monarch in another form, and this is why we only see miraculous boxes but not the actual magical jewels inside of it during the season 5 ending.

Which made me think of a theory that I once had about Cerise/Lila for the future of season 6. We don't know yet if among the informations that a mind controlled Nathalie sent to Lila in Revelation, there was the 6 secret identities of the temporary heroes that Hawkmoth and Mayura were aware of since Miracle Queen (Rena Rouge, Carapace, Ryuko, Viperion, Pegase, and Roi Singe).

But I beleived that even if that wasn't the case, Lila/Cerise could still easily manage to guess or discover more than one secret identities of the new permanent heroes if they aren't carefull as Adrien and Marinette were, and since Lila would become the schoolmate of all of them as Iris Verdi. Or she could as well track the heroes as Chrysalis to discover who they really are behind the mask. It would then be a piece of cake to steal at least one or two miraculous with how easy she seems to be able to reduce everyone Q.I when she opens her mouth. And among the miraculous that she could get her hands on, I definitly thought about the fox and the horse.

But if the new forms of the miraculous that Gabriel stole no longer have the same form as illustrated in the Grimoire (whose photos Lila is now in possession), this will make things more difficult for Iris, and she may not gain the upper hand or even manage to steal one miraculous before the end of season 6. Or maybe Chrysalis may actually manage to steal one or two miraculous from the heroes during their future fight against akumas if she can observe them and guess where the magical jewel is on them.

But during season 6, when she's not busy ruining Marinetet's life or Ladybug's reputation, Lila will probably be more focused about learning everything she can about her adversaries and their weaknesses, in order to divide and conquer.

I'm glad that the ML writters may have found a way to not make things too easy for Lila.

what are you counting as straightbait?

the definition of straightbait in this tournament is intentionally very loose, and the poll question is also vague on purpose (is it celebratory or derogatory? who knows). i've accepted submissions with more obvious examples of "straightbait", such as cases where m/f couples are teased but never get together or are revealed to be queer. however, i've also accepted couples where they have some kind of weird fucking thing going on that could be interpreted a number of ways but isn't straightforward canonical m/f romance, "buried straights" who die after romance is confirmed, and a number of other things. i go more into this tournament's definition of straightbait here and here.

why is this couple in the tournament if they get together canonically?

see above. in most cases where this question comes up, we're talking about buried straights. if the characters in question are queer, it is straightbait at least partially by virtue of those characters not being straight. and if neither of the above, the answer you are looking for will be in the propaganda.

you're free to argue about the validity of a straightbait in the tags, amongst yourselves, or in propaganda, but please don't come to me about whether a bait should or shouldn't be in the tournament. their inclusion on this blog + submitted propaganda speaks for itself

what is The Policy?

sometimes i rb propaganda posts that i tag with #as per The Policy. the policy says that any time i encounter a post on my dash that is related to one of the pairs in this tournament such that it could be used as propaganda, i have to reblog it.

how were the matchups decided?

i sorted all my submissions into popularity tiers, then randomized matchups within each tier, so characters were matched up with others with equal or similar popularity to the best of my ability. tiers were based on how many submissions a pair received and how well they did in the singles tournament. there were five or six tiers in total, although it's been long enough since i made the bracket that i do not remember the exact number

what is the singles tournament?

the singles tournament was a preliminary tournament that i ran for every pairing or character that was only submitted once, hence "singles". i only automatically qualified straightbaits with more than one submission, so i did this to allow more submissions to enter the main tournament. also a chance to see your blorbo in a poll at least once, even if they didn't qualify

what should i do if you've gotten something wrong?

Ask HC: Do any of you ever get the feeling to just, steal Ladybug's and Chat Noir's miraculous to make a wish? Maybe fixing something you wished never happened, or anything really. Specially Viperion and Pigella, since your powers are literally perfect for this, but for LB and CN too.

Rena: "Not really?"

Carapace: "Yeah it's just. Not a thing in my head most of the time."

Honeybee: "Most of the things I'd change about my reality would result in a fake world I hate knowing it's only the result of a Wish. The few things that wouldn't be fake would just be throwing that pain at someone else."

Talon: "Oh yeah no now I'm imagining a world where mom is nice and while that's cursed in itself I'd hate knowing it was because of Magic forcing her."

Bunnyx: "Literally I am the least tempted for changing shit through Magic and it's why I got the job."

Arashi: "I cannot think of anything I'd want the Wish for."

Roi Singe: "Other than like. Fuckin world peace or whatever."

Pegasus: "Which goes against several moral and ethic codes regarding overriding free will, even for the greater good."

Viperion: "Can't say it hasn't crossed my mind. Bringing people back from the dead is... it's an option. But I know enough to know that's a bad idea for several reasons."

Tigress: "Yeah I watched Fullmetal Alchemist it's NOT a good idea. Even if it worked, it'd be like Bee said: technically a fake world not our own."

Pigella: "While I'd love to grant everyone's wishes, I think eventually we'd loop back to our own reality!"

Wolfhound: "I hadn't really thought about it. I guess it's an idea in my head but... I don't think I'd ever go through with it."

Petite Souris: "Pegasus already shot down my idea of using the Wish to fix all environmental issues."

Minotaurox: "Even if you just reset global warming, I'd hate to imagine what you'd have to trade for that."

Falun Feather: "Yeah I'm too aware of the tropes to even think about taking that kind of deal, even if I want to get out of a situation."

Capricorn: "Even if I was the trope of being arrogant enough to try and think I can skip the consequences, I'm not even sure what I'd wish for other than the things already shot down by the ethics committee."

Bracket(??) Announcement!

I have FINALLY (which I am very sorry for guys) finished going through my submissions and have created something that looks like a bracket. BUT, in order to include the most characters, I have devised a group round with 128 characters divided into 8 groups and have sorted them in a way that prevents this competition from becoming a batman vs spider-man final.

making the polls shouldn't take nearly as long so be on the lookout for those! this will be pinned and I'll make sure to edit this post with links to the polls, and matchups are not necessarily going to be heroes next to each other! matches can be made up by any two heroes in the same group
