5sos5, my tragic love baby, we start it out so strong with complete mess, first self-produced song and first song we heard that was written by the four of them and only the four of them, all of them singing, a recognizable guitar riff, that classic 5sos song structure with a 4 chord melody where the song builds up until it drops at the bridge and comes back to finish it off strong with the last chorus, also "I ask no questions as your colors take their hold as my darkness turns to gold inside"?????? Excuse me??????? Then we move on to easy for you to say, they wrote all that we just let them get away with it, I'm scared to find a piece of peace of mind has haunted me since I heard it for the first time in a shaky Instagram live from the Dublin show, obsessed with the lyrics of this song, I think lyrically it really shows how good they are as songwriters, but this song is also my controversial opinion of the album because there's something in the production of it that deeply bothers me (sorry Michael, I love you) so it's the song I listen to the least, I'm still listening the live cut from the tour diary. Then we go to Bad Omens, I will never accept the fact that that song is not everywhere. I think it's flawless, the way the intro matches the outro so you can get caught in the same loop of going around again that the lyrics are talking about, and that's something that's a trend with them, they exaggerate the lyrics with the production and I think bad omens is the best example of it, I'm particularly obsessed with the way the chorus makes you expect a high note after the somebody, so when we get to the outro we expect the last somebody to be followed by a high else, but they actually drop the note, because nothing is ending in a high note here, not the relationship, not the song. Flawless vocals, flawless melody, flawless production, not a single wrong decision was made with this song. Then we have me myself and I, I think is so much fun, I think they made the perfect pop song, you have simple lyrics that are just repeating, and the way the song is structured it kinda feels like it's just one chorus that keeps going and going and since the song actually ends not only in the middle of the sentence but also in the middle of the progression in the guitar, you kinda feel this need to loop it, I know most people didn't get it when Ashton said that this song was very sgfg, but this song is so sgfg if sgfg was more pop than it is, the way its 4 chords in a guitar that just loops, the way it builds around that riff, the way the drums only come in in the second verse, the way it goes, goes, then just drops before coming back, the outro with the repetition, it's all very vapor of them in my opinion lol. Then we have take my hand, the way Luke wrote it alone and they managed to make it sound like a 5sos song is actually such a good example of how well they work with each other as musicians, because, yes, you can feel Luke's influence deeply in the song, but you can hear them all in it. Also, Luke Hemmings the songwriter you are, I can't quote anything because I would just write the whole song. One of their strongest bridges, amazing song all around.

Then we get to carousel, I don't know if anyone else remembers this but Ashton said that you just need 2 chords to make a great song, and this song technically has 4, but in the verses, they're actually going back and forth with 2, and I think that's such a good way to give you that feeling of spinning that comes with a carousel when paired with the drums, also I feel like this song is the first of many in the album where Luke flexing his vocal range lol, dude starts on his lower register, pulls some high notes and the whole time you're just like *Ashton's voice* you got an epic voice bro. Also, the symbolism of the lyrics drives me a bit crazy. And the way the song drops but never picks back up because you're on a one-way ride and there's no going back, INSANE. Also, Youtube countdown outro my beloved <3. Then we get to the most controversial song on the album. Personally, I think older is a good song, I would've put it as a deluxe track and put moodswings here instead but mostly because moodswings fits the tragic love narrative of the rest of the standard album in a way older doesn't. Love the piano, love the way Luke's voice goes with Sierra's, beautiful song but it feels out of place when you look at the rest of the album. My dear devoted delicate <3. Then Haze. Let's ignore the emotional whiplash of going from a piano ballad to it. I'm actually obsessed when 5sos goes 80s pop, it's a song that makes you want to move. It gives you that very pop feeling while being completely built around a guitar riff, so it's a very pop vibe but it exists around their strength, also Ashton is singing so it is a win in my books lol "when I lived between the bars" <33333333 . And the fact that all of them have production credits on it makes me all !!!!! Then you don't go to parties. I'm in a ydgtp mood so this may be very biased toward it. I love that the verses are built around the bass but the chorus is built around a guitar riff. I'm obsessed with everything about it, the little synth noises thrown all around, Calum playing with his lower register, the drums, Ashton's verse, everything really. Lost my limit cause I'm dumb and I'm passionate. I'm particularly obsessed with how many ways you can interpret the lyrics. Maybe he's looking for someone, maybe the someone he's looking is his old self, maybe he just wants out from his own head. Amazing, incredible, did something to my brain when I first heard it. Then blender, my beloved. LOVE when they make a song around the bass riff. Obsessed with the use of a blender as a metaphor for the cycle they're trapped in, because a blender spins things around while chopping them up, so no cycle is without consequence. Another song Luke is just flexing how good of a vocalist he is. Everything about it feels dramatic, the chorus sang in one breath, the imagery the lyrics are painting, the way the song starts and ends with Luke singing so no intro or outro to get you out of the cycle. Mandatory moment of appreciation for time stamp 1:37 <3.

Then we have caramel. I will never get over this song. It fundamentally changed me as a person. From the sigh in the beginning to the riff at the end. Ashton lower harmonies in the first verse, Luke's voice sounding almost dreamy while the lyrics are talking about getting back to something and how it gets sharper as the song goes and the lyrics start to give you the idea that maybe there's no saving this one. I know it well, caramel, I feel the comedown. I don't know about yall but every time I hear the second verse of this song I want to drop to my knees and scream (and I have on occasion lol). I don't think they made a single wrong choice with this song, from lyrics to production. Love like a landslide, I kiss you goodnight and the implications of the goodnight in a song about fighting for something that you know is doomed because they could've very easily made that love like a landslide I kiss you goodnight, love like a landslide I kiss you goodbye and imply that they are leaving this thing they know they can't save, but no, the love is going down and they are going down with it. Then they just spin you around with best friends. Love that this is a 2 chords lets have FUN song. I love my best friends, they love me, I will hold on to this feeling as long as I can. Michael verse <3333333333. Absolutely obsessed with how they just wrote a song about friendship. Love how this is a song that I can see every era of them playing and just goofing around on stage. Then we have Bleach. Way to put you back in the emotional blender. Again, Luke flexing his range. Lower Calum, Michael verse. You know how I said they sometimes exaggerate the lyrics with the melody? This song has water sounds (I can't determine if Michael actually added waterlike sounds or if he added a waterlike effect to the slides sounds you can get when you switch chords in a guitar) and with a good enough headphone, there's actually a whole layer of harmonies in it that sound like they are playing somewhere with a lower refraction rate than air, like water. It's so hard to watch everything I want, everything I was spinning down the drain. Multitasking 🥺. I do wanna know if this song was the soundtrack to more people impulse changing their hair color because the amount of times I bleached my hair while this song was playing since it came out is a bit alarming. Perfect soundtrack for those of us who dye hair as a bad coping mechanism lol. Then we have red line. I'm definitely biased about this one. This is one of my favorite songs ever. Definitely my favorite on the album. The way they play with the imagery of waiting in a train in it fascinates me, from the oohs that sound like the notes of a train whistle, the synth that sounds like the sound you get when there are station announcements, the echos that sound like the ambient sound you would hear waiting for a train, to the literal train doors closing as the song ends. The lyrics that leaves you wondering if they are waiting for the train to come or for someone to join them on the train they are. The implication of not being welcome anymore. I want back in, but I can't. I would love an acoustic version of it and I think more people would like it if it had a more stripped production, but seriously this song is everything to me. And what a way to end the album when you consider the bird sounds in the beginning of complete mess, to finish it with a door closing. Michael Clifford the producer you are.

Then we have the bonus tracks. They put you in the emotional blender going back and forth with sad songs, lets dance songs. I want whatever Michael put in moodswings so I can inject it pure into my bloodstream. The most Luke flexing his range Luke could get lol (they're not playing this song because they can't change the key or else the rest of the song would be too low but the chorus is too high for Luke to sing every night and I will die on this hill lol). The epitome of I have an anxious attachment style but I am in a long-distance relationship. I love a good reminder of how well all of their voices go with each other. Obsessed with the way they exaggerated the breaths in the bridge, the random piano sounds. Also, do something for me, put moodswings, queue bleach, change the crossfade to 12 seconds, then sit back and enjoy. Then we have a nice little 180 twist because going from moodswings to flatline gets me like that gif with the girls dancing while crying lol. I don't care what Ashton said, I still hear Calum lol. But their harmony game is insane and I think that that chorus has a shitton of layers and that's what keeps us all guessing about who's singing. Anyway, this song makes me want to sit them all down and discuss their range because that shit is HIGH. Again, love me some pop vibes. Sometimes you just wanna dance to a song about falling so hard you feel like your heart is gonna stop. Then we have emotions. Criminally underrated song. Obsessed with the way Michael is singing about anxiety on top of a guitar riff that counts in a self-soothing pattern, I think that's legit genius of him. The way he's harmonizing with himself too, like, he said MY SONG and meant it. I'm doing my best and I guess that's the best I can do. I think this song follows the malum pattern while writing songs together because they have a tendency of repeating sounds more frequently than you would expect, kinda as if they made a list of words that rhyme and tried to put them as often as possible. I'm also obsessed with how low the song is because I think we as a society talk about hitting high notes all the time, but a lower song can be real impressive if you give it a chance. Bloodhound. Forever mad I didn't get visuals of Michael's "he sunk his teeth into the bone" but I can see Ashton arguing against this song because the crowd would clap wrong during the bridge and he wouldn't be able to move past it oksaaoska. Fun song, gotta be honest tho, the lyrics confused the shit out of me for a while there. I do love the beat in this, the combination of the bass and the drums and that thing in the back that sounds like Ashton is banging his drumsticks together. Then we have tears. Anything that has Ashton singing is a win in my books. Obsessed with the imagery in it. There's a hole in the sun caving in and I feel it. Burn the words to start over. Diamonds turn to puddles. Tears hitting the ground, Fears pulling me down. Cashton do know how to make a song. I think if you're going back and forth with a duo in the band, Calum and Ashton create a real nice effect. The rhythm section really popped off with that one. Love how you get double the Ashton influence with how heavily it goes around the drums.

The new vocal coach was an amazing choice, Michael is an amazing producer, lyrically they excelled themselves, really shows off all of their strengths 1000000000/10 best 5sos album and we all know it.

Im frothing at the mouth I NEED to know more abt Vox's relationship with Valentino and Angel. Like literally what is the dynamic there. STORYTIME BC I'M GOING TO GO INSANE I HAD THE SCARE OF MY LIFE

ok ok remember that extra long early morning class from like five posts ago?

so for context the school was closed that day only super intense classes were coming in. my class wasn't the only one, my bff's class was supposed to come in, too. just those two classes, keep in mind. her class is on the third floor, mine is on the fourth and her class starts one hour before mine.

so i come early by like 30 minutes and all the lights are off and all the doors are closed except the lights in the corridor leading to my friend's class so i was like oh they're in there cool and i didn't think much of it.

i started wandering around the school because it was so dark and creepy and cool i literally felt like a ghost. there was a sound of someone turning on a tap and running water so i guessed it was from the bathroom downstairs where my bff's class was but it startled me and kinda made me uneasy right so i wanted to go back downstairs and when i opened the door to the stairwell mr. teacher dad was there and gave me the scare of my life (on purpose mind you he knew i was up there snooping). so i hung out with him and whatever and this creepy cat was following us. i got into a fight with the cat, the cat won.

so my friend's class ends an hour before mine so i told her to come up and visit before she goes back home but she didn't. so when we took a break me and one of my classmates went down to the third floor and the lights were still on but we went all the day down the hall to my bff's class and it was empty so i called her really upset that she left without talking to me and she didn't pick up

i was like ok whatever she's probably tired.

then when i got back home i saw a text from her that was like "oh sorry i didn't come by my class was canceled"

Something something Jesse’s first appearance in terms of release order was The Deserter and in that episode he takes command in Rex’s place cause Rex is injured and he’s trying to protect Rex in contrast to his final appearance, Victory and Death, where he once again takes command but this time it’s because Rex has been branded a traitor and he’s trying to kill him.

Furthermore, something something Jesse has armor markings in The Deserter but when he briefly cameos in Practice Makes Perfect his armor is completely white meaning he hasn’t painted it yet meaning the first chunk of that episode takes place before The Deserter and thus would be his first appearance in terms of timeline order. So his chronological first appearance has him shooting at Ahsoka for training purposes, again, in contrast to Victory and Death where he’s shooting at her for real.

So basically no matter which way you look at it his first appearance is a really fucked up parallel to his final appearance.

Here's a Spotify playlist with songs in this order because I'm extra.

I will be using only the standard version of the album and considering that this is about a romantic relationship, I will be ignoring the 3 songs that are not about romantic relationships, best friends, take my hand and carousel. I will also be ignoring older, since it doesn't fit the narrative of the rest of the songs. For the sake of clarity I will also be using he for the narrator and she for the subject.

So, the album is about a relationship that's going in circles "we go around again we jump back in bed", "another glass until we come around", "we're going around again in the emotional blender" and we catch that relationship in the middle, since we don't have a song about falling in love, they're already there.

But it all starts in haze. They're still in that good in love, well, haze. The world only feels right when they're together. And there's no reference to the divide that's making them go around and around yet. The relationship is that easy thing that he'll keep chasing until the end. The love that made him feel human again after he's been through bad times, the person that makes him feel alright whenever they're around. Is chasing that high that keeps him coming back.

Then we go into complete mess. The relationship is no longer easy, she makes him complete, but she also makes him a mess. There are also beginnings of the divide between them "call it a lesson when I feel you slide away" and "I learned my lesson when I felt you slip away" and the relationship is no longer the easy "and I am human once again" from haze, he's questioning because he's "caught up in heaven but your heaven ain't the same", he's hanging on to the good moments through the confusion, because he loves her and she makes him complete but the relationship is not just the beautiful things anymore.

Then we have me, myself and i. The beauty of mm&i is that she fits in any of the off moments of the relationship. It's that desperation of trying to believe he did the right thing letting the phone ring. The song is a loop and lyrically it ends without really ending. He's alone, it's his fault and he's trying to convince himself he's fine with it. "I guess I got what I wanted" but at the same time "I never knew what I needed" and he has the same words running around and around and around. I did put this in the beginning over the "i know you wish me well" because the belief that she's still in it with him fades with time.

Then we go into easy for you to say. This song could be an attempt to make it right once they come back. She was someone who saw him through bad times and he's trying to explain how he got caught up in that bad side. But they're already stuck in a cycle. He lies then comes back to explain it and he promises that "each and every time I'll try and change my ways" but it's easier for her to make demands than it is for him to actually comply. Ultimately he's trying to get her to understand the darkness in him that makes him do stubborn things that might end up with him doing something to jeopardize the relationship but he will keep trying anyway.

Then we go into blender. Like mm&i, blender fits in the beginnings of any on period. But he's already tired. The song starts with him watching her across the room, so they aren't in the best place but "we just can't keep away" so it's starting again. I think the blender metaphor here is great because a blender spins things around while chopping them up, so no cycle is without consequence. Being trapped in this is bad for both of them and they know it but he can't stay away. He's still trying like he promised "I tried for you" but at this point he's questioning if all they're doing is hurting each other while going around "but all a hear is..."

Then we go into bad omens and caramel. I think they are the same cycle, the last cycle, from both points of view. I wrote this back when the album came out, you can read that if you want something more elaborate on why i feel like these two songs go hand in hand. But both songs are about holding on to something that's clearly beyond saving, but while bad omens is desperately fighting to keep it together, caramel is going through the motions in that failure. In bad omens he knows he's chasing something that's hurting him, but he needs to keep trying because that's what you do when you love somebody. There's also the "we go around again we jump back in bed" that goes with "all the things you said in my head ricocheting off the bed" in blender because they jump into bed just to ricochet right of off it and it's just creating more of a mess. And caramel he's chasing that easy, being in love and being known and being with that person that makes everything better he had with her in the beginning, but he can't find it, it's right there and he can't reach it but he's hanging on anyway because "it used to be easy" so why can't it be easy again? So he just can't let go.

Then we go into bleach. Bleach is the realization that maybe he's fighting for something he can't save. It ties back to bad omens and the "I'm still making sense of having nothing left to save" he's literally trying to make sense of watching "everything i want and everything i was spinning down the drain". "Brought a knife to a gunfight" he's not equipped for the fight that he's in. And he knows it's not easy and "it takes time to let go but i can't take it no more" it's the realization he needs to step out of the cycle to figure out a way to live with her.

Then we end it all with red line and you don't go to parties. Why am I grouping them together? They're both waiting for something to happen. They're both waiting for her to walk in. But red line is in that hopeless how many times can I come back if you keep pushing me out feeling and ydgtp is accepting the fact that she just doesn't fit in anymore, since "everyone I ever knew is standing in my house" but she's not there. Red line is actually him finally accepting that he has nothing left to save, going back to bad omens, and he did lose who he was while falling out of love, going back to bleach. And ydgtp is him contemplating all the times he intentionally lost his mind in the name of being passionate about something. I also like ydgtp as the last song for the relationship because it's the one where he accepts she's not there anymore. And that also ties back to blender because he was watching her across the room in blender and in ydgtp he's scanning the room for her even though he knows she's not coming back this time.

You couldn’t stop replaying all the interactions you had that day over and over in your head. You were scrutinizing every word you had said, every way you had gestured. You didn’t know if everyone loved, hated, or pitied you. It was possible that everything was fine, but it was equally as likely that everyone who you talked to today were still thinking about your conversations and were still annoyed with you. It was an indescribable feeling, it just made you want to curl up in bed and never see anyone again. Everything was just too much. You were grateful you were home alone right now so no one would have to see the state you were in. 

You had taken off your work clothes from the day, changing into a comfy sweater and soft lounge pants. You were on the couch wrapped in a fluffy blanket. (You thought that maybe Sirius had used it last, it smelled just like his soapy and musky cologne. You hummed in satisfaction from the comforting scent.) You buried your face in between a cushion and a pillow, hoping your nest would just swallow you whole and never release you. You had a few minutes to calm down before your boyfriends started barreling in. 

First it was Remus’ soft steps as he shucked off his coat before making his way to the kitchen. He probably assumed you were asleep, because when he passed you on the settee all he did was lean down to kiss your temple. You heard him (quietly) clanking around as he put the kettle on. Thankfully the sounds were familiar and comforting, rather than overstimulating. 

Then was James and Sirius, being very loud as they burst through the door, laughing and joking. It made you smile against the pillow. They were talking about something they had seen on the way home. 

“Moons,” Sirius made a beeline to the kitchen. You heard James hiss when he looked over to you. 

“Quiet, Pads.” He scolded. “Baby’s sleeping.” 

“Shit,” Sirius whispered, walking past to get to the kitchen. 

“It’s okay. ‘M awake.” You mumbled, shifting to sit up. 

“Oh, hi sweetheart.” James crouched by the couch. He could cry at how adorable you were, all wrapped in the blankets and what he recognized as his jumper. Sirius and Remus came back into the living room, each holding mugs of tea. 

“Wow, Prongs.” Sirius rolled his eyes. “Gettin’ onto me for being loud only to wake them up right when I leave.” He tsked disappointedly and shook his head. 

“I wasn’t asleep, just resting.” You took a mug from Remus while James sat beside you, hauling Sirius into his lap. The ink-haired boy turned to face you excitedly. 

“Babydoll,” He started. “I was thinking, Marlene is havin’ a thing at her house tomorrow. Not really a party, just a little get together. She was saying something about ‘playing Cards Against Humanity and getting shitfaced.’ How’d you feel about going?” 

You were contemplating heavily. You wanted to go, yes. It sounded like a lot of fun. But hangouts like that stressed you out. You always felt like you were saying the wrong thing, not acting the right way. Especially in small groups. You loved Marlene, you loved her girlfriend and probably everyone else that would be there. But that only made it worse. You wanted them all to like you so much that you overanalyzed everything you said, which likely only made things more awkward because you sounded so robotic and scripted. You tried to keep the worry from your face, but unfortunately James could read you (and almost everyone) like the morning paper and he usually felt the need to call it out. 

“You okay, sweetness? You don’t have to go if you don’t want to.” He reached over to rub your thigh with his warm hand. 

“No, I want to go, I do!” You cut in quickly. “I just-” You snapped your mouth shut before taking a big gulp of your tea. 

“You just what?” Remus asked curiously from where he was sitting on the coffee table. 

“Are you sure she wants me there?” You asked, worriedly. Sirius looked like you had asked if the sky was green. 

“Yeah she does. She wouldn’t have asked if she didn’t. Why wouldn’t she anyway?” His sculpted brows scrunched in confusion. You sighed and set your tea on the side table, starting to fidget and stim with your nails, using enough force to shred your cuticles. James grabbed your hand, encouraging you to play with his fingers instead. 

“I just feel like I never fit in at those things. Like, I don’t know. I just make things weird.” You muttered shamedly. 

“You don’t make things weird.” James said, squeezing your hand. “Why do you think that?” You lost your words suddenly, feeling all too vulnerable. Sirius was looking at you with enough gentleness to make you sob, like he knew you inside and out (he does). 

“I know you get anxious about this stuff. But baby, everyone loves you. I don’t see how they couldn’t. I can promise no one is thinking about how you act as much as you are.” He looked at you, seeing right through you. He abandoned James, making him let out an indignant huff to catapult himself on top of you, wrapping you up and squeezing tight. 

“You know,” Remus started. “I was at work today and Aoife would not stop asking about you. She kept saying I need to bring you over during break because you’re ‘heaps of fun.’” You wanted to scoff but you were too tired. 

“Angel, everyone loves you. I know it doesn’t seem like it, because your brain can’t always tell what people are thinkin’ but they really do.” You looked at James over Sirius’ shoulder. He was looking so soft as he leaned forward to peck your forehead. You were looking doe eyed at Remus and James. 

“Promise?” You asked, quiet and insecure. Sirius pulled away, bringing his hand up to your face. 

“Pinky swear, dollface.” You knew how seriously he took those. You reached up to wrap your pinky around his, face heating as he brought your hands up to kiss your knuckles. 

“Okay, it sounds fun. I’ll go.” You relented happily. 

“Oh thank god.” Remus sounded oddly relieved. “Lily texted me earlier asking if you would be there and I said yes. I really did not want to face her fury.”

If there is anything to be said about both Alhaitham and Neuvillette as Yanderes, it's that, in my opinion, I think an overthinking Darling would be ideal for them. Alhaitham because he can manipulate them, while for Neuvillette, he'd end up unintentionally doing so due to his personality and straightforward nature, since he'd probably cause her to start spiraling. For both Neuvillette and Alhaitham, the possibility of the things they can do to Darling that would likely scare her more than the actual things they would do to Darling. But that's just my two cents. What do you think?

I'm with you on this one, the MOMENT Alhaitham realizes that you cannot stop your brain from overanalyzing even the most normal social cue, he's drafting numerous plans that'll make you crumble in the long run. For how little he speaks, his mastery over words is envying. Do you remember what happened in his story quest? He destroyed an entire collective consciousness with one. sentence. He knows that people, in general, feel this inclining to ‘figure him out’. He's SO GOOD at giving signals in a way that the fact that they were mixed will only register to you after the heat of the moment. And by then, you won't even be certain if that was actually his intention or just you overthinking. It's crazy, and while you're having three existential crises at once he has the audacity to pretend like he had no hand in it! Will probably even tell you to just ‘stop thinking’ in the flattest voice if you lash out.

For Neuvillette I think, it'll be more effective if you're unaware of his soft-side and under the impression that he's this stiff, strict and reserved authoritative figure who must not be offended at all cost. Aka, when your and his intentions are juxtaposed. While Neuvillette may only want to get acquainted with you a bit more, he's imprecise in making his intentions clear, so your mind will be jumping to all sorts of conclusions. Heavens forbid if the interaction happens in the Opera Epiclese? It'll birth even more misunderstandings due to his unflinching attitude towards the court rules.

Okay, so in honor of all the Hermits stirring things up on Twitter today, let's REALISTICALLY consider Season Ten. What do we know, what are our clues, actually???

(Speculating and overanalyzing are really fun so I'm just going to embrace my tendency to Listify Everything and spill my thoughts on Season Ten under the cut!)

First Evidence: The Words of the Hermits.

Nine Days ago Scar said in his Jellie tribute video that Season Ten was “Just around the corner”. Five days ago on the 18th, right after the Hermit meeting that probably finalized their start of the season plans, Cub posted his cryptic tweet whose incorrect capitalizations spelled out “SEASON TEN SOON”. I can't imagine either of those hermits using that phrasing if the season start was more than a month away.

What's more, Gem posted yesterday the 23 that “If hermitcraft s10 doesn’t start soon I’m gonna explode!!!” I can't imagine Gem being that impatient unless there was only a couple of weeks or maybe just one week left before filming.

Second Point to Consider: Hermit Conscientiousness.

The Hermits sre generally really kind to each other and have known when the Hermitcraft Vault Hunters challenge was going to end (Jan 31st, midnight) for months. Per Iskall, the videos of the Herald Vault will drop February 1rst and I can't imagine they'd want video competition between that content and the new season.

Clue Three: The Streaming Activities of the Hermits.

The sheer amount of time Joe has spent playing Vault Hunters lead me to believe they can't have started filming for Season 10 yet. Seriously, when Joe finally has a day without a bonus Vault Hunters stream I'm gonna get mighty suspicious. Joe has streamed more than three hours of Vault Hunters every single day for a week. There was Wednesday when he did his art stream, but I wouldn't expect that to have been a launch day because:

Fact Four: Editing turn around times are so grindy.

The traffic series always has a several day turn around for editing time (IE film Monday post Friday) and several Hermits still struggle to get them out on those days. Even if the hermits were going to ignore the Vault Hunters conflict and start filming season ten this week, tomorrow even, they'd just barely have enough time to squeeze those videos out before the Herald Vault videos. As I'm editing this post Impulse just said he's trying to finish his office reorg this week and have a tour out next week. That does not sound like 'filming this week and editing the new season opener' behavior.

If it goes as Iskall indicated on stream, the Vault Hunter hermits will film the Herald Vault and post as soon as possible on February 1st, meaning the earliest they could kick off season ten would be Friday the 2nd. Even if they film on then I can't imagine them dropping new season videos/having them edited any earlier than Monday the 5th. Furthermore:

Clue Five: A lot of Hermits are very protective of their weekends.

Pearl for example almost didn't join the Decked Out visitor day because it was a weekend. It may be that Monday the 5th would be the more likely earliest useable day for filming after Vault Hunters ended. With editing turn around, we'd guess the start date to be Friday at least.

In Conclusion:

My totally bullshit overanalyzed but still blind guess is that the Hermits will film season ten starting February 5th and will drop videos sometime between February 7th and 9th.

That being said, Cub's cypher today that may have just been trolling said season ten would be “sooner than we'd think” so they may surprise me yet.

Keep an eye out for days where no hermits stream or days where Joe does a brief “1 hour chill stream” to see when the Hermits might be suspiciously behind the scenes. I won't be mad if I'm wrong, overthinking is fun. Either way I hope you join me in hypong up the new season and the new Hermits joining the Hermit Fam. I can't wait!

honestly I'm probably overthinking this, but I think it's an interesting detail that in the Unmortricken episode during the whole "trap Saw box" shit we've got this shot of Evil Morty sort of disappointed/dismayed RIGHT as we've got our Morty Prime telling Rick to "take the shot".

Like he's got the sort of annoyed, sort of cast down look for a few seconds (because right after we have the "We both hate Rick Prime more than each other either way" thing) and I'm reading way too much into this, but it makes me think that he does give a shit about Morty, despite his Very Constant Denial.

I mean taking all aspects of the episode under consideration, we've got several scenes where it is heavily underlined that Evil Morty does not care about Rick C-137 nor Morty, even being blunt about it and telling everyone to fuck off or it won't end well.

It's not that I don't believe he wants to be left alone, he very pointedly does, Buttttt I think E!Morty does hold some form of "softness" or positive emotions towards Morty.

Looking at their characteristics in the episode, I know most of the other fans have noticed that our "main" Morty's character seemed to have regressed for the ep to more of s1/s2 behavior, making him look more "whiney" and weak in comparison to Evil Morty. I think it's to point out that if we Had our Morty's normal behavior from even previous episodes of season 7, we'd be able to see how SIMILAR both of them are now.

(I mean c'mon, I get you rushed his character a little, but to fuck it right back to season 1/2 during a significant mid season finale? You've gotta have a bigger reason for it.)

In either case, it's likely that we have an episode of Morty sub-consciously trying his hardest not to act like Evil Morty (That's why we got the development regression for an episode) as Evil Morty seemingly just acts like himself, merely underlining that he does not care.

"This didn't make us friends" okay??? Then why even wait for Prime Morty at all to join Rick in his beat down w Rick Prime? Don't get me wrong, Evil Morty won't suddenly develop attachment to him out of thin air, but imo he sees all the potential Prime Morty has yet is currently wasting it.

It's sort of a little nod to how insane it is of a parallel that Ricks can't fucking stand one another or themselves, immediately trying to one up the other or kill, as to how Mortys can co-exist peacefully and work together without any unhealthy character implements. (Fun fact: If you're into mortycest in one of the comics two Mortys sleep w each other. So we've got established selfcest in canon too if you're imagining and rolling Evil Morty's and Morty's relationship into a more romantic ball court.)

Another little detail I noticed, we have a moment where Rick shoots at Evil Morty again for funsies and I gotta say, the expressions are feeding into my overanalyzing brain . LIKE??? AM I SEEING THIS WRONG?

These two have GOT to have something cooking between them PLEASE.
