pt. 1 pt. 2 pt. 3
summary: An argument with your mother before family dinner leaves Joel worried about you. He sneaks you away to grab a drink and talk about what’s on your mind.
warnings: MA 18+ (minors DNI), no outbreak, dbf/neighbor!joel, soft-hot-protective!joel, rocky mother-daughter relationship (this one ain't for the weak - mommy issues galore) & discussions of verbal fighting, slight clues of abandonment issues, smut, swearing, age gap (reader is in her early 20s, Joel in his 40s), pet names, praise!kink activated, unprotected p in v (yes finally, the edging is over), mentions of birth control,  slight cockwarming if you squint, slight degradation kink
A/N: I crave three things after writing this chapter: Joel, Joel Miller, Joel fucking Miller. Also, I’m almost done with The Last of Us Part 1 :(( sad that it’s ending, but it’s been so much fun to play! Enjoy this chapter <3
Your parents make good on their invitation and ask Joel over for dinner. A steak dinner, to be exact. Paired with wine, mashed potatoes, green beans, and a pie your parents picked up from the local bakery in town.
You sort of hope Joel pulls out his long list of excuses to evade any awkwardness.
Sorry, can’t tonight. I’m finishin’ up somethin’ for work. Can’t wait another day.
Or,
Hey, maybe another night. Not feelin’ too hot.
When in reality, it’s more like,
I can’t come over for dinner tonight because I might bend your daughter over my truck if I see her again.
As active as you and Joel have been, you have yet to hit a home run in lewd baseball terms. In fact, all the bases in your and Joel’s game were totally screwed up. You hit third base before you hit first, and you weren’t even sure if there was a second base. It was all just so confusing now.
But you wanted the home run, you wanted Joel, you desired him in that light. You wondered if he was ready for it.
Screwed over by your father asking Joel over for dinner and screwed over by Joel agreeing, you had no other choice but to sit through it and act like everything was normal.
And everything was normal for the first half of the day before you and your mother got into it.
The argument was recycled. You wished she would come up with better material. But it always came down to what you wanted to do after this summer since you recently graduated. And that was an ongoing war.
After two door slams, your mother retreating to her bunker, and you finding shelter in the bathroom, you’d say today’s battle was over.
You sit on the floor, bare feet touching cold tile. In a way, it soothes your shaky body.
No matter how old you get, this feeling never seems to waver with its intensity. The feeling that no one’s listening, no matter how hard you scream for them to hear you. Regardless of how often you have these conversations, you become a small child again, being scolded and told that what you thought and wanted wasn’t right.
You managed to collect your journal expertly hidden in your bedroom before fleeing to the safety of the bathroom. You flip open the pages with teary eyes.
You wish you didn’t have to admit that this was your safe space. On the bathroom floor, back flushed against the dark wood door as you closed your eyes and tried to calm your breathing.
June 17th  2:28 P.M.
Mom started a fight with me about not traveling again. She says it’s crucial for me to start my career immediately. I don’t even know what I want to be yet.
You have to pause to blink back tears. You wish you had your life figured out like it felt everyone else did.
Why does she have to care so much that I want to leave for a little bit? It’s not like it’s forever. There’s so much more out there. I’ve studied miscellaneous classes for four years and want a break. Why do we always have to have this conversation over and over again? She always asks how I will take care of student loans and bills. I have repeatedly told her that I’ve been saving up for a while to do this. She keeps saying she wants what’s best for me and doesn’t want me to start my career too late. She says it’s hard to let me go.
I love her, and I appreciate her support through school, but school is what taught me about independence as well as academics. I want to live my life and have experiences you can only get by leaving home for a little bit. Maybe then I’ll better understand what I want for my future.
Your writing pauses, and you stare straight ahead at the beige wall, blurry eyes reading another cheesy sign. Bathroom - Open 24 Hours - Seat Yourself.
You decide to spare a moment of your mother’s casualties and pencil in something else that’s been recently stirring.
I’ve been seeing Joel Miller casually since the start of this summer. I can’t believe I’m even writing this. It’s weird -- but in a way, it’s also not? He’s older by like a mile, but he’s familiar, comfortable. Easy to talk to. It doesn’t feel like he’s judging me. I’m not trying to read too much into it, but this summer sucks less because of Joel. Whether he knows it or not.
---
You and your mother work around each other while setting up dinner in the backyard garden. She steps back inside to grab more wine glasses.
You’ve put on a nice summer dress. The hem lands somewhere on your thighs and flows with the breeze. After sobbing on the cold bathroom tile for an hour, you don't feel very pretty, but eating outside and soaking up some fresh air might make you feel better.
“Hey, sweetheart.”
Joel Miller was the largest, broadest, lumberjack-est man you had ever met, but he moved as quietly as a mouse. Your eyes blink a few times as you haphazardly set down the bowl of mashed potatoes on the circular table.
“Hi.”
Your voice is raw and red, softer than usual. Joel seems to instantly take notice. You see it in the way his eyes soften. He moves a little closer, hands resting on the back of one of the white outdoor dining chairs.
Your face probably reads more panicky than intended. He picks up on your faulty mood and assumes the worst.
“Do they.. Do they know?” He asks, eyebrows knitted with a deep furrow in between.
Your eyes go doe-ish, shaking your head and occupying your hands with a spare cloth napkin.
“What? No. Why would you think that?”
He doesn’t say anything, he doesn’t have to. He takes one long look over your being and you feel it in the space between you.
Somethin’s wrong.
Nothing’s wrong. I’m fine, Joel.
He tilts his head, eyes narrowing on you more.
Suddenly, you felt exposed. Like someone had ripped the curtain open on you. No one had ever seen right through you like this before. It was unsettling, but god, you just wanted to lean right into it.
If your parents weren’t just inside, you’d walk right into his front and curl your head in his chest just under the hook of his chin. You’d close your eyes and wrap your small arms around his waist.
He’d encircle you in his big, protective arms and shield you from the pain you’ve felt today. You’d listen to his heart thrumming against his chest, using the rhythm to try and slow down your breathing while he whispers to you in his sweet southern drawl.
S’alright, sweetheart. Everything’s gonna be okay. I see you tryin’.
His eyes flitter into light again, ease passing across his features.
“Like the dress.” He looks over you with a condescending little smirk. This man has never seen you in a dress in your life.
“Shut up. It’s just for dinner.”
He lets out a cocky little tut. “‘Cause you knew I was comin’ over?”
When you look up at him again, his hand gently rests over yours. You don’t have time to appreciate it; the sliding back door opens, and your father’s big booming laughter shakes the nearby lake. Joel’s subtle touch is instantly gone.
“Joel! So good to see you! Hey, great bonfire a few weeks ago.”
You take a deep breath and excuse yourself from the shop talk. You don’t want to be alone with your mother in the house, but the table still needs to be set up. You work around each other in silence. She grabs the salad, you grab the dinner rolls and green beans. You could hear a pin drop.
---
Dinner would have been better if you had an appetite. You spent the majority of your time making a tilled farm field out of your mashed potatoes. You’d flatten out your helping with a fork and then gently run the fork’s ribs through the moldable potatoes and create little crop lines out of it. You don’t always play with your food, but you weren’t really up for conversation. Your mother takes notice. She hates it. She hates that you were letting your personal problems exist in the company of others.
The only time you looked up even slightly was when Joel started talking. Sort of a calm in an unknown storm, you suppose. He looked so handsome without even really trying. You wore a crooked smile as you looked over the dark green button-up he was wearing. It was starting to be your favorite color, he wore it so well.
There were points where your parents would turn to each other. And Joel would turn to you. It was sort of a silent check-in.
Under the protection of the table, his hand found your knee, his big fingers lightly playing with the hem of your dress. It was the first time you cracked a real smile all dinner. Your hand ghosted over his, your nails lightly running soothing, slow lines on the underside of his wrist by his watch.
You doin’ okay?
Mhm.
It didn’t dawn on you that Joel might have felt he did something to cause your saddened mood. And this was his way of asking. You bit down on your lower lip, feeling his fingers lightly interlock with yours over your knee. Your eyelashes flutter at the warmth it propels through your body. It was just what you needed. Everything was going to be okay.
---
You’re working over a stubborn steak juice stain on a plate as the sun sets over the lake and glistens a soft yellow-orange hue through the windows in the kitchen. Your parents are moving around you while you rinse the dishes, back turned to them as they spoke in mundane conversation and pack up leftovers.
You don’t see him, but you can feel Joel’s presence as he enters the doorway. He watches you. He watches your parents. You wonder what he sees. The next thing you know, he’s shaking your parents hands and bidding them goodnight.
He stops at you. As the running faucet splashes against a few forks and a wine glass, you spare him a glance.
“Walk me out?” Your parents take notice of his ask. And not in the way you expect.
You tilt back and forth on your feet, looking back to the dishes. You really just wanted to finish what was left to clean and read in your room for the rest of the night.
“Uhm-”
“Go on and walk him out, honey. We’ll see you soon, Joel. Thanks for stoppin’ in.”
Your eyes go from Joel’s, to your parents. If they were anything, at least they were oblivious.
You and your mother share a look before she sighs and exits the kitchen. Your jaw loosens, not even realizing how hard you were grinding your teeth while looking at her.
“Yeah. Okay.” Your murmured voice is barely audible above the gushing sink faucet. After you set the plate on the drying rack and smear your wet hands on a dish towel, you walk Joel outside.
The night breeze off the lake sets in a layer of goosebumps up your arms.
Joel’s boots scuff against the gravel and dirt in his driveway, his footsteps pausing at his truck and turning to face you.
The rising moon and setting sun work in unison to highlight his aquiline nose and silver-sprinkled jawline. He’s charmingly handsome. Rugged features meet a stone facade.
You take a hesitant look back into the house. The kitchen light is still on, but no one is in the small windows.
“You wanna tell me what’s really goin’ on with you?” He crosses his arms, cocking his leg out as he leans his weight onto one of his hips.
You muster up a shrug and fold your hands around your arms to keep the light chill away. It felt like you couldn’t tell the truth, the house and your parents inside watching over you. The pressure of it all makes your shoulders lurch up a bit into your neck.
But Joel continues to press you. You’re making him nervous, you think, because he’s not accustomed to seeing you so quiet.
“Are you..” His words falter and fall off, and you can see the frown creased into his mouth.  “You’re wantin’ t’stop seein’ each other?”
“What?” Now you’re the one frowning, closing the gap between you and Joel and taking him by his hand to the other side of the truck, using it as a shield between you and the rest of the world. Your back flushes against his driver-side door.
“No, I don’t want to stop seeing you, Joel.” You frown and squeeze his hand a little tighter in assurance. “Trust me. You’re kind of..” You struggle to make the words fit. Nothing seems right. You’re kind of the only person I want to be around right now.
Joel looks a little relieved. He doesn’t make you finish your sentence. He seems to connect the dots. Joel looks from your solemn face to the house behind you—the cause of your ill-stricken mood.
“How about we grab a drink n’talk.” It’s not a question, exactly, it’s more like a command.
You don’t want to talk about what happened, and you have a sneaking suspicion that if you two go off together, your parents will be asking questions.
You push the toe of your sneaker into the gravel and twist slowly back and forth.
“I should just head back inside. My parents are probably waiting up for me, anyway. Cleanup duty.” You say unenthusiastically with a dash of sarcasm. Joel’s eyes are looking past you, still at the house. You turn around to follow his eyeline. All the lights in the house have been turned off—even the porch light. Joel scowls at the sight, thinking how he always leaves the light on for Sarah.
The caged-in feeling returns, your chest tight as you look to your feet and try to breathe through the ache your heart held. You wanted to get out of here, and now.
“Never mind.” You bite down on your lower lip to hold it together. “Let’s go.”
You’re already swinging open Joel’s door, rust creaking at the joints as you slide into the passenger seat. These old trucks with no center console were so cool to you. Maybe you'd appreciate it more if you weren’t in such a shitty mood. But Joel’s already in the truck beside you, the warmth he’s radiating was welcome. His key turns in the ignition, and it clicks a few times before the engine roars to life.
You don’t talk, he doesn’t force you to. You feel at peace putting some distance between you and the lakehouse.
Joel drives past neighborhoods with funny street names.  Thunderbird Lane. Firefly Drive. Sugar Loaf Lane.
As the sun just finishes setting, the whole town is covered in an orange glow that will soon fade to purple. Everything flies by your window, and moving at this speed feels like the cage is lifting around your chest, the clasps on your wrist snapping free.
Rolling down the window makes the breeze funnel into the truck and flow through your hair. Before you know it, your body is halfway out of the window.
“What ‘n God’s name do you think you’re doin’?” Joel’s tone was warning, his fist catching your dress in a fist around your lower back in an attempt to make sure you didn’t get thrown out of the truck.  “Get back in here.”
You turned back so Joel could see you, eyes lit, and a smile from ear to ear. His hold slowly loosens at the sight before him.
Back arched out the window, he drives a little slower and towards the center of the road. You look up, arms outstretched into the night air as you breathe everything in. Fresh lungs, filled with a new perspective, no tears left to cry as you hang out of Joel’s window. The stars gleam, and the universe is vast.
Oh my god. You hear yourself mumble, feeling freedom reeling through your entire body. And like that, you were new again.
A satisfied sigh leaves your lips. You’re back in the truck now, and you roll the window up but not completely closed. The wind still tickles a breeze into your thrown-about hair. You look to Joel, his eyes already on yours.
Joel sees your fire has been re-lit, thrashing out licks of flame and building in intensity. He adores you wild and free.
“Better?”
You fix the space between you, your body melting into his side as your head lazily rolls onto his shoulder. His heavy arm finds its way around the tops of your shoulders to keep you sedentary.
“Much better.”
---
He ends up passing the central part of town. It’s better this way. Go somewhere he won’t be recognized with a woman half his age. He’s the one who lives in town throughout the year. You and your family only visit in the summer. It doesn’t help that the town is small, and Joel is one of a handful of skilled contractors in the area.
His rusted truck lulls to a jittery stop outside a small bar lit by a red neon sign reading, Past Lives. You wander inside, passing empty barstools and a glowing dartboard, while your sneakers crunch peanut shells littering the ground. You nearly slipped on a large pile of them, but Joel’s hand was firmly on your bicep before you could flail any further.
“You might be the clumsiest woman I’ve ever met.” He mutters, annoyance passing over his features.
You roll your eyes and scoot onto one of the tall barstools at a small square table against the wall. “I doubt that’s true.”
He shrugs his shoulders and cracks open a peanut, tossing it into his mouth. “You’re right. Your mother is the clumsiest woman I know. You get it from her. Once, I watched her glide five or six feet down the end of the dock and land in the water.”
An ill feeling passes over you again, pursing your lips as you trace your finger around the small bowl Joel is picking his peanuts from.
Joel halts his movements, chewing included, and watches as your eyes stare meaninglessly at the table.
“Never really seen you like this. Thought I’d like it if you were quiet for once. But now it just feels out of character.”
Joel’s boot teasingly nudges your sneaker under the table. His brown eyes look warm despite the lack of light in the dingy bar. Your stomach twists thinking about how he looked under the moonlight just half an hour ago.
Those pretty eyes of his meet yours. Soft. Kind. “Talk to me.”
A beaten-up sigh leaves your lips, tugging at the hem of your dress.
After a drink or two, you tell Joel everything he missed before dinner. How you and your mother fought. How it was all venom and tears, leaving you cold and alone on the bathroom tile. By the time the battle came to a halt, there was no clear winner or loser.
Joel’s an attentive listener. He doesn’t interrupt. He knows when to prompt you need a push. Joel’s pile of peanut shells has turned into a small molehill. The ice in your drink sloshes around as you start talking with your hands.
“I love her, I mean, she’s my mom. But she’s always fought me on this. This-this-...”
“The traveling,” Joel assists, his large hand nursing a small glass of whiskey. He looks amused like he enjoys watching you spew. You supposed he feels more relieved to see you explode like this rather than holding it all in.
“And-and it’s so much more than that! She fought me about leaving Texas for school, she fought me about doing a semester abroad, she just can’t let me go, it’s suffocating!”
You didn’t mean to sound so passionate, and you hadn’t realized how vocal you became until someone slowly clapped on the other side of the bar in appreciation. You stifled a laugh and put your head shyly in your hands.
He nods slowly, waiting to see what you’ll say next. You’re using him like you’re journaling at home, now it’s just interactive.
You sigh and pinch at the bridge of your nose, closing your eyes as you listen to an old country slow song humming throughout the bar.
“Didn’t even wanna come back this year.” Your words are barely above a murmur.
This makes Joel pause. “What d’you say?”
You sit up straight and sigh, crossing one leg over the other under the table. These stupid drinks are making you tell the truth. Be more vulnerable than you would ordinarily be. But it’s also because you’re talking to Joel, and he’s always been interested in what you have to say.
“I didn’t want to come back this year. These past few years, I didn’t come back to Danbury because I sort of- purposely- busied up my summer. Internships, work, anything to keep me busy and out from under their-their….” You pause to make hand gestures that are wide and all-encompassing.
Joel juts his jaw out to the side, lips pursed before he speaks again.
“M’happy you came back.”
There’s a moment of silence. Joel’s eyes aren’t on yours anymore. He’s swirling his glass around slowly and watching his ice rotate in a sloppy circle. You slowly start to smile as he looks bashful.
“What did you say, Mr.Miller?” You pry teasingly, reaching your hand over and gently stroking his watch band. The nickname makes his eyes narrow on yours.
“Nothin’. Forget about it.” He throws back the last of his drink, and you’re cooing for him to continue.
“Wha- Joel, come on! Why did you say that?”
He’s just trying to buckle down his smile, hiding it with his whiskey glass and shaking his head.
“Didn’t say nothin’.”
“Yes, you so did. Don’t even try to lie.”
“I’ve never lied a day in my life.”
Your eyes go wide, and now you’re smacking his forearm. He’s shoving quarters at you now, sliding them to your side of the table as a form of distraction.
“Can you just-” He scoffs under his breath and rolls his eyes, finalizing his quarter total to four. “-fuck off, go put a song on the jukebox.”
You sneer at him but obey. You look for something particular, pausing on Little Lies by Fleetwood Mac, smirking at him as you punch in his quarters. He seems confused as to why you stay standing at the jukebox.
The chorus hits, and you point accusingly at him as you do so.
“Tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies,” you can’t even finish before your right foot catches on more slippery peanut shells, freezing like you were caught on ice skates and trying not to fall.
Joel’s hand has a vice grip on your bicep again until you regain your balance. God. Your face gathers heat as you snatch your phone off the table, and he lets out a laugh at your expense.
“Can’t sing,”
“Hey-”
“Can’t walk in a straight line.”
“I had like four drinks.”
“Two.” He corrects. There’s no hiding that you’re just unbearably uncoordinated.
“God. Just- get me out of here, Miller.”
Joel was biting back a smile. He likes teasing you, taunting you. Only because you know how to serve it back to him.
“Not until you see this. Wanna show you somethin’.” He sets down his whiskey and lays down cash to cover the tab.
You start your stride, and Joel’s already looking at you with instilled concern. You insist I’m fine. Go on. You follow him through a narrow hallway towards the restrooms, an exit door lit up with a red sign over it.
The walls are filled with signs, pictures, and letters, all illuminated by a soft flickering strip light.  These were trails that people had left along the way, passing through the bar and leaving a piece of them behind for strangers to admire. It was like a memory wall.
Joel leans back against the men’s restroom doorframe, arms crossed as he silently admires the wall. And you.
Your fingers brush an old family picture timestamped from the late 80s. There were business cards, from bankers to bonds bailsman.
You feel Joel’s hand cast warmth on your hip, guiding you further down the hall. You follow his eyeline to a large yellow-light spoiled wall map. There were push pins all in different parts of the world.
“Look at all of these, Joel!” Your eagerness was evident as you stepped in front of him, finger flying from one point to the next, squinting past the tacks to read the cities people have visited.
“Bangkok, Thailand. Paris, France. Of course. London, Dubai, Tokyo.” Your voice trails off, finger-stopping around the empty parts of the map that some of the bargoers had yet to venture off to. The pins around the state of Texas were ironic.
You gently took a step back, Joel's broad and hardened front caressing your back. His arms gently wrap around you before they clasp at your front. You rest your temple against his bicep as you sigh. You found comfort in him tonight more than he could understand.
Your neck cranes to the side and up, observing his defined jawline from below. “Have you ever been out of the country?” Your face is lit with excitement, only to fall as he slowly shakes his head. You turn back to the map, your fingers gently holding onto his muscular forearm.
“Am I crazy for wanting to leave?”
You can feel a heavy breath leave through Joel’s nose, the air fanning over the top of your head.
“You’re not leavin’. You’re travelin’. You’ll come back, eventually.”
The muscle in your jaw twitches, and your eyes move to the Eastern side of the map, spotting the tiny European countries.
“Maybe my mom is so worried that if I decide to leave, I might not come back.” You say it as a joke. It makes Joel muster up a tut. But maybe, just maybe, you mean it.
---
You feel drops scatter from the dark black clouds overhead as you rush out to the truck, feeling the cold rain splash onto the exposed skin of your thighs.
Joel’s hot on your heels, doing his little side hop down the stairs and jogging lightly with his arms tucked into his sides. He’s already tossed you the keys to his truck. His body hovers over yours and shields the raindrops from landing on your head as you fiddle with unlocking the truck door.
“Any day now.”
His babbling thwarts your concentration.
“Fuck off, it’s like- rusted shut.” You tease before giving the handle one large tug, and it gives way with a creak. You slip in, dress hem tangling up on your upper thighs. Your hand flies to fix it instinctually, but you slow down when you see how adamantly Joel admires the exposed skin.
When you two make eye contact, he’s already cleared his throat and put the key in the ignition. He cranes his neck back to look out the rearview window, left hand cranking the wheel with precision while his right arm wraps around the back of your headrest. You swallow the lump in your throat, watching Joel reverse out of the bar’s parking lot and back onto the main road.
Your heart thumps, and you think he can hear it because his eyes are on yours when he turns back around. Magnetizing. And you have a hard time facing him without feeling a little shy. Because you’re thinking incredibly naughty things now.
On the drive home, the rain pelts the truck and hard. Joel’s wimpy wipers are working at full speed. He’s not concerned because he knows these streets with his eyes closed. He turns up the radio a little bit to drown out the rain. He does it for you to ease your nerves.
“You’re quiet.” He murmurs, his eyes still on the murky road in front of him.
You can’t help but be quiet. He looks so fucking hot. As dim streaks of lightning skitter across the sky, you see the silver hairs in his mustache and beard. His rain-dampened curls are recoiling, fresh, and wavy. His thick neck was lined with strong veins and muscle.
“So are you.” You murmur back.
His eyes catch you in sneaky glances. Your hair, pretty and dry since he shielded you in the bar’s parking lot. Dress half rumpled up your thighs, smooth skin of your legs exposed to his wandering pupils.
The truck suddenly shifts, veering off the main road.
“Woah,” you gasp, thinking the truck had slid at first. But Joel’s foot was still on the gas, cautiously guiding you off to a side road. You look around, covered by darkness and trees that shield your existence but do little to veil the obscene thoughts racing through your head.
Joel finally throws the truck into a parked position, your eyes watching as his hand snaps the keys out of the ignition.
He looks over at you expectantly. And you just deadpan.
“Get over here." He says between gritted teeth, voice drenched in lust as he snaps off his seatbelt and then your own.
His large hands pull you in as soon as you’re free. You don’t waste another minute, straddling his lap and resting between him and his steering wheel.
You clutch the collar of his dark green button-up, tugging him by his neck into your kiss. It’s messy and desperate, but you've wanted to taste him since dinner. His greedy hands are wrinkling your dress. The cold air tickles your warm thighs, and you whimper into his mouth.
Joel’s kisses are rough but fluent; he speaks the language of your lips. You take a moment to admire how different the two of you are and how it feels like he’s the key to your lock.
His warm palms slip up the front of your thighs as he kisses you, hasty and happy. He takes the hem of your dress with him. Joel is as warm as a furnace. He’s heating you from the inside out as your core begins to ache for him.
He pauses the kiss, large palm coming up to cup your cheek as his thumb traces along your lower lip. You take the time to catch your breath, feeling his own fog against the window next to you.
“Not exactly the most romantic spot.” His eyes shift with lust-filled guilt. “M’sorry.”
You work up a smile, leaning in to gently kiss his cheek and up his cheekbone.
“It’s okay. We’re not romantic.” Your clarification feels like a lie. He doesn’t need to know that.
The rain outside becomes blurred, and Joel’s looking through you again. Right through you. Your chest pounds under his watchful eyes. He sucks in the side of his cheeks, looks you up and down your face.
Don’t lie to me.
Don’t make me tell you the truth.
He decides to let you move on unscathed, your thighs clamping around his own with your knees at either side of his hips. His worry lines are stamped into his forehead as he looks over you cautiously.
You break into a smile, unable to stand him looking at you like you’re a lost puppy. “Joel,” you whisper into his ear, soft lips giving his ear a kiss as your nose lightly brushes against his soft curls. Your voice drops to a whisper, sweet and divine. “Don’t make me beg, Mr. Miller.”
Your lips suckle his earlobe and cast your tongue along the curve while his fingertips immediately dig deeper into the flesh of your hips. The sensation makes his cock twitch in his jeans.
You smirk as you grind your hips into his lap, a suppressed grunt leaving his parted lips. He’s into it. “You like this, Mr. Miller?” Your words are murmured against the shell of his ear, teeth gently catching his earlobe and lightly tugging.
Your words along with the rhythm of your hips over his lap have him in a tailspin.
“Knock it off.” He warns, teeth gritted, a low growl emitting from his throat while he grips you at the waist to pause any movement. He looks so sexy snarling at you like this. Your hand reaches between you two, palming against his cock until you feel it swell into the heart of your hand.
Joel is lazily planting kisses on the soft skin of your neck, he’s distracted by how good your hand feels.
You take turns half undressing one another. Joel pushes your dress up to your waist and loops his index finger into the band of your panties. He guides them down with your assistance. You kick the material off your ankles and move to pop open each button of his long sleeve. He goes to shrug it off, but you smile and tighten your hold on the collar.
“I like it on. Just wanna see your chest hair.”
His mouth tilts into a crooked smirk.
“‘lright, then. Good to know.” He leans back in and places messy kisses on your exposed neck. You can feel how badly he wants to sink his teeth in, but you share the mutual rule of keeping those things below the collar. Out of sight, out of other people’s nosy minds.
You struggle to admit that jimmying open his belt at this angle was pissing you off. You’re holding your breath until it clicks open, and you let out a sigh of relief. So does Joel.
A gasp leaves your lips as Joel lifts the both of you up purely with the strength of his hips, a low grunt leaving his pouted lips as he pushes his jeans down to his knees, along with his boxers. You sit back down over him and feel his heavy shaft pressing against your slick center. His girth makes you whimper.
The rhythm of the rain eases your racing heart. You take Joel’s pulsing member into your slightly shaky hand.
“Nervous?” It’s not cocky or concerned, just curious.
“M’not nervous.” You mutter, starting to pump his cock to get him to shut up. And it works. For a minute.
His head falls back into the seat as he watches you in admiration, his own hand wandering between your spread legs and gliding two fingers through your slick. His forefinger grazes against your clit, and he has you whimpering again.
“S’okay to be nervous.” His thumb slowly starts delicate circles into your bundle of nerves, and now he’s got your legs quivering.
You’re chewing at the inside of your cheek, shifty eyes meeting his. You pace your words this time. “I’m not nervous, Joel.” You pull away from him to create a line of spit from your mouth, landing on his pink tip already drizzling in precum. You swallow your nerve and bring yourself to meet his eyes. “Not with you.”
The mutual understanding links the two of you together, bound to the agreement in silence. You have a burning desire for one another. You’re scared, and he knows it. You push him to the limits, his heart beats for you.
Steam fogs the windows of Joel’s truck. The rain dances a fine line between pounding and pouring to slow and subtle.
Joel’s kisses lull you into a peaceful existence. You take off your dress, unable to stand anything between you and Joel. He’s warm as he wraps his arms around you, your tits flush against his thick chest.
You line him up by his base, Joel’s trying to hold himself still under you. You’re focusing hard, and he kisses your temple to ease your thoughts. He murmurs something, but you’re too busy concentrating.
His pink tip meets your warm flesh, and his tip slowly parts your walls. He’s seething between his teeth, how tight you are washes pleasure over his face. He wants you to go slow. You don’t want him to go easy on you. You can’t help but let his name tumble from your lips in desperation.
“Joel,” you whine, one hand clenching the fabric of his button-up by his shoulder while the other still weakly holds his base.
“M’here, baby.”
He’s rubbing soothing circles in your hips with his forefingers, trying to distract you from the stretch he’s creating inside you.
His breaths are coming out in hot puffs. The truck isn’t cold anymore, in fact, it’s only steaming up.
“So- fuckin’- tight.” He murmurs, eyebrows knitted together as his jaw was dropped open.
It was sharp at first, but the further you sank over him, the more you couldn’t contain yourself. As soon as his balls were flushed against your core, you were kissing him. Hot and heavy, desperate and needy, can’t get enough of each other sort of kisses. One of his hands holds the back of your head to keep you close while your fingers are delicately feeling up his chest and mazing through salt and pepper hair.
You smirk lazily against his lips, pulling away to rest your head on his shoulder. With this leverage, you start to roll your hips down onto his. Joel’s hands assist, squeezing your ass and guiding you smoothly up and down his shaft. You’re both moaning one another’s names, hazy eyes watching each other as long as they can before eventually drifting closed.
You wished you weren’t fucking in his truck, your riding skills were a lot better than this, but if you try and pop up, your head will just smack into the roof. And he’ll make fun of you for as long as he knows you.
“God- feel so good, Joel.”
You’re panting already a few minutes in. You don’t want Joel to think you can’t do this, you don’t want his help. But your body is crammed in limited quarters, and you’re already sweating.
He feels good. You wonder how long it’s been since he’s had sex. He’s not exactly the most outgoing of gentlemen. Thinking about him being with other women, maybe even women his age stirs a weird pit inside your stomach.
One hand steadies itself on Joel’s forearm while the other gently clutches his cheek. You leave a messy moan against his ear.
“Do you like fucking girls half your age, Mr. Miller?” You ask with a teasing smirk, messy kisses against his stubble and his ear ensuing.
He’s grunting every time you throw yourself back into him, skin clapping against his thighs, his hands slipping from your hips to your ass and squeezing the juicy flesh. “-like fuckin’ you.”
A low, extended groan leaves his lips as he holds your hips down, filling you full and having you sit with it. You throw your head back, and your eyes shudder closed with a loud moan occupying the truck.
You tell yourself that you’re both just fuck happy. You can worry about the depth of Joel’s words later. He feels too good inside of you for the first time to give a shit.
Joel’s thrusts bring you back to life, hand landing against his window and leaving a print mark against the steamy glass.
Joel senses your languid movements. He thinks you look pretty being fucked in his trunk during a thunderstorm. The darkness wraps the both of you up, only seeing flashes of each other’s features. He combs his large hand into your hair, catching your striking features with his hooded eyes. The slope of your nose. The curvature of your collarbones. Your pretty lips that he can’t stop staring at.
Joel enjoys the control too much for you to be on top for a second longer.
You collapse onto the truck’s long leather seat, lips parting in surprise as he maneuvers you to lie back without slipping from your entrance.
“H-Holy fuck, Joel-” You’re breathless.
Joel’s jaw clicks tighter as he flattens one of his large palms beside your head for leverage, hovering over you as he begins to methodically snap his hips into yours. Your desperate cries for more fill the truck.
Both of you are horridly cursing, some in the form of whines and moans and others in the form of whispered grunts.
Fuckin Christ-
Holy shit, Joel, please-
Feel so god damn good, princess-
Oh f- fuck me Joel, fuck me!
You’re already feeling the knots in your stomach tether tighter and tighter together, back arching as your chest brushes against his nose.
Joel takes the opportunity and licks a hot stripe between your breasts. You know he tastes your glistening sweat, but the trail from his tongue makes you clench tighter around him.
You catch Joel’s unfiltered groan in your mouth, his forehead resting against yours as his amber eyes grace yours.
He’s close, you can see it in the way his features contort and his thrusts become more unpredictable. You had no idea he could fuck this good.
Joel brings a hand up to your lips and offers you two fingers. You whimper but reluctantly take them past your mouth. You suckle and lather your tongue up and down each digit, it makes his cock twitch inside of you.
He plucks his fingers free with a pop, a trail of spit extending from your bottom lip to your chin as he reaches between you both.
Finding your swollen bundle of nerves doesn’t take him more than a second. You were so turned on it was almost painful.
Joel’s tip sweetly kisses your cervix at this angle, and you are so close to spilling over. Your hands cup his face, pulling him into you as you share a messy kiss. You think about how scared you were to kiss him before, but now it makes you feel a sense of protection and safety. You wrap your arms around his neck, you need him close.
“Joel,” you whimper, clenching your eyes closed and dropping your jaw as he finds the perfect rhythm circling your clit.
“Can’t hear ya, baby,” He grunts into your ear. You can feel him tiredly smirking against your cheek, knowing he’s fucking you so good you’re struggling to find the words.
“Fuck,” you mutter, your legs clenching tighter at the sides of his hips. “M’on birth control, finish inside me,” you whisper against his ear.
You can hear him let out a short, breathy chuckle against your ear. It only drives him more, knowing he can fill you up.
“Y’sure, sweetheart?”
“Want to?”
His teeth are gritted as he growls into your ear. “Course I wanna fill your sweet cunt up.”
It was hopeless after that.
A crack of thunder and a strike of lightning conspire, your view of Joel illuminating his gorgeous face in a white-silver flash.
The tight coils inside you snap free, a broken moan of his name being the last thing you remember saying before white stars filled your vision. Your hold on Joel loosens as your orgasm crashes through you ungracefully, making you twitch and rut your hips below him.
His fingers and his thrusts don’t stop. He rides out your orgasm, following suit until he flushes his hips against yours and lets out a heavenly groan of your name. You’re still under him, vision blurry and hearing fuzzy. He finds solace in the crook of your neck, nuzzling a home for himself in the space and losing himself deep inside you.
His body shudders lightly as he finishes, spilling white streams into you for who knows how long. Your hand is gently stroking the hair at the back of his head, fingers combing through dark curls as he breathes hot air against your neck.
You both slowly blink back to life. He’s complimenting you, but you’re too blissed out to hear the details.
So good, baby… Such a pretty fuckin’ girl... So lucky.
Joel tuts softly as he attempts to free his softened length, but you whine and tighten your legs around his hips to keep him stationary.
Your eyelashes flutter as you feel gentle kisses by the corners of your eyes, tiredly smiling as you open them before slowly sitting up onto your elbows. Joel takes the opportunity to pull out and yank his boxers and jeans back into place, securing his belt last.
He still keeps his shirt unbuttoned for you, partially because you have a hold on a random corner to keep it so.
With the absence of your pants hotboxing the truck, you slip back into your dress with a light shudder. You reach past Joel’s leg to retrieve your panties and pull them up your stems to keep his spillage to a minimum.
“Good?” He asks, a smile slowly growing on your lips. He looked so fucked out. You both probably did. You attempt to fix Joel’s hair, and he takes his thumb to swipe away the saliva trail on your chin.
“Good.” You agree. Quiet and sapped, but good.
You force Joel to play a few games of tic-tac-toe on the foggy glass before the storms lighten up, and you can actually see more than a few feet in front of the road.
You’re picking at the skin around your nails the entire drive home. So many questions compile in your worn-out brain.
What if your parents noticed you were gone? What if they were awake, waiting for you by the kitchen window, and they see you slip out of Joel’s truck? Try explaining yourself after that one.
As Joel pulls into his driveway, you observe the lake house is still dark and silent. Empty but also not. Joel’s warm palm is on your leg. It draws your attention away from the window, focusing just on him.
“Joel?”
“Hm?”
You shift your jaw before you lay your head back against the headrest, gentle pitter patters of the last rain cloud splashing on the window.
“What do you do when you’re not working? Like on that Saturday when I talked to you at your truck.”
He musters up a half-mouth smirk. “Didn’t do much talkin’ that I recall.”
You roll your eyes and slam a closed fist against his shoulder. It barely rocks his arm, let alone his body. M’serious.”
He lets out a long sigh and looks out the windshield. “I do stuff around town or-  for the town.”
He’s so hard to push details out of. He’s like a jammed stapler.
“Go on. So, like, volunteering?”
Joel rolls his eyes and shrugs. “S’not really like that.”
“That’s what it sounds like.”
He doesn’t say anything, just sort of starts smiling. “Just like keeping myself busy. But now I have you on my plate.” He teased. Your chest felt warm, knowing he kept a place for you in his hectic life.
“What sort of stuff are you working on right now?”
He takes a long, deep breath through his nose. You can hear it whistle before he lets it all out of his mouth, followed by clearing his throat.
“Y’know that old church past that big field on the east side of Danbury?”
You mindlessly shake your head and shrug.
“When I was a kid, I used t’go to that church-”
“For God?” You can’t help but blurt it out in shock.
He narrows his eyes on you and smirks.
“M’not exactly the Godly type.” You look over his chiseled jawline and beautiful, robust features. You’d have to disagree. He looked like one of God’s favorites.
“So.. why are you trying to fix an old church?”
Joel slowly smiles, eyes mindlessly on the dashboard of his truck before he answers. “I have a thing for the broken, used, and abandoned.”
Your head cocks to the side, and you give him a look, pressing him for an honest answer. Or maybe it was an honest answer, and you’re just looking for a better answer.
He shuffles around in his seat before he continues, hand still aimlessly circling on your thigh. “It wasn’t operable when I was a kid, just rundown, abandoned. There used to be a stained glass mural on the-uh... east-facing wall. So when the sun came up through it, the whole place just- lit up.” He pauses and shifts his focus to you.
“Now, y’know, it’s fallin’ apart. Dumb kids throwin’ rocks at it and chipping away the glass, age makin’ it all dust-covered.” Joel shrugs and falls back into his closed pit of secrecy.
“So… you’re fixing up the town.”
A pause. “More or less.”
“You know how to make a stained glass mural?”
He shakes his head and purses his lips. “No. But I can figure it out.”
You twist your lips and slowly climb over his lap once more. His eyes watch you curiously while his hands settle on your hips. You cup either side of his neck, fingertips lightly brushing up against messy curls.
“Can I see this mural you’re working on?”
He takes a long time to answer. So much dead silence fills the truck you start to feel a bit awkward about asking, like maybe it was too far.
“Please.” You ask or tell rather. You kiss his lips lightly to try and sway his pending decision. “I won’t judge, I think it’s cool.”
“Cool?” He instantly chirps, cocking an eyebrow up at you.
“I didn’t say you were cool-”
“You most certainly did.”
You’re shaking your head, and his pointer finger is prodding into your side to get under your skin. “I said that it’s cool. The stained glass stuff, that is what is cool.”
He’s already sneering at you. “Whatever you say, princess.” You can feel your cheeks singe with heat. Your hand anxiously scrabbles for the door handle, letting the rusty door creak open for your exit.
Sneakers scrape gravel after you climb out of Joel’s lap, his boots landing suit.
He smoothes a hand down your dress, your eyes watch before you face him.
“You gonna be alright?” Joel's face is laced with slight concern, his head cocking past you and looking to the house.
You shrug and shake your head. “Yeah. We’ve had this fight before, and we’ll have it again.”
He doesn’t seem satisfied with the answer. He’s teetering on his heels as a stray raindrop lands on your cheek.
“You can..” He trails off as his thumb comes up and brushes away the droplet, hand lingering before he cups your cheek. “Y’know, can always stay with us if you need a break. M’sure Sarah would love the company.” And so would he.
Your eyes soften, the gesture warm and safe. You couldn’t even imagine the trouble you’d stir up at Joel’s house. Sure, you could occupy yourself with Sarah when she returned from camping, but what would you and Joel do? Well, besides the obvious…
Your lips curl into a tight smile, not wanting him to reel in his invite out of pure bashfulness.
“Thank you. I’ll keep it in mind.” Your eyes are on his until he sighs, his shoulders reset into that of a broad lumberjack once more. His eyes looked like they were scheming. It’s fast, like a flash, and before you know it, the look is gone.
“Take care of yourself.” He leans down and plants a kiss on the crown of your head, thumb skimming up the line of your cheekbone. Suddenly, your heart is racing again.
You cup his cheeks and pull him down for a real goodbye kiss, two sets of pouted lips against one another, unwilling to let go until you have to.
---
“What are you doing after work?” You’re on a call with Joel, phone pressed between your ear and hunched shoulder.
“What are you wearing right now?” He taunts, voice crackling in and out of connection since he was currently working at a house out of town.
“Ha.” You deadpan, closing the sliding glass door behind you as you step back into the empty lake house, skin sweltering from being in the sun for the better half of the afternoon reading on the dock. “No, really, I could use your help.”
The phone volume shrills in your ear as you hear an electric saw roar to life, Joel cursing repeatedly as he walks away from all the noise.  “Jesus fuckin-.. so damn lou- Can you hear me better?”
Once the saw dulled, you put the phone back to your ear.  “Yeah.”
“What do you need help with?” His voice sounds a little preoccupied like he’s trying to focus on you, but he’s got a million things running through his head.
“My window.” You say with a frown, stepping into your bedroom and cursing at the sight of it. “Won’t open. Maybe you can crack it open with some of your handy dandy tools.”
You smile as he musters up a little laugh at your hardware knowledge or lack thereof. “I don’t know about today, baby.”
“You are the property maintenance guy for our lakehouse now, right? You have a duty to help me.” You tease, stepping back outside with a fresh bottle of water and an apple. Your teeth pierce the skin, and the apple’s juices gush past your lips.
“Jesus, fine. I’ll be over. I’m almost done.”
You purse your lips to hide your smirk. God, he can’t even see you, but you don’t want him to know he’s got you flustered.
“Parents are running errands today... If that’s extra incentive for you to hurry up.”
Joel pauses on the other end. He’s probably got that stupid smirk on his face. “In that case, I’ll leave now.”
“I knew you’d see things my way. Thank youuu.” You playfully coo.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, whatever.
An hour later, Joel’s outside your window while you assist from the inside. His face is twisted in concentration, eyes narrowed on a misaligned hinge that he works free with a screwdriver, realigns, then screws tight into its proper place.
He looks stupid hot so focused like this. Tanned skin, hair a little dusty from work. The veins in his forearm were bulging as he uses pressure to keep the hinge in place. You had to blink a few times to keep yourself from staring. He feels it.
“Can I help you?” His voice was thick and echoing since he was speaking to you between a glass pane.
You bite back a smirk and shake your head.
He pulls off the hinge and nods, pats it a few times before looking at you and giving you a thumbs up.
You decide to let him come inside before you open the window yourself, twisting at the string of your bikini bottom as you wait. He took in your appearance as soon as he parked in the driveway.
“What?”
“...Nothin’. Like the outfit.”
“Joel, I was sunbathing. And reading. It wasn’t an intended distraction.” It was.
“Mhm.”
Joel appears at the entrance of your bedroom. You silently curse yourself for not updating it more. It still looked like a sixteen-year-old fangirl lived in it.
He appreciates the posters and magazines, checking his handiwork at the window.
“Wanna give it a go? Open it?”
You eagerly smile and step up to the window, playfully tugging on it and heaving.
“I-.. It’s still stuck.” You say with a frown. “Joel, you said you fixed it.”
“What? Shouldn’t be-” He’s already got his hands on the frame and tugs, feeling it easily slip up and open. You’re giggling as his face deadpans.
“You think you’re so funny.” He taunts, his body turning towards you as he chucks his tools haphazardly on your bed. You’re already attempting to take leaps and bounds away from Joel, but his arms are long, and so are his strides.
His rough hands capture you by your waist, dusty and calloused fingers ghosting over your warm skin.
Joel’s lips eagerly greet yours, both of you grinning into the kiss. It’s slow as you let it envelop you. Your heart races. He’s not supposed to be here, your parents could come home any time now.
You bite down on your lower lip, feeling butterflies in your stomach as he backs you up against your wall, foreheads gently pressed together. His eyes flick behind you, and your head follows his gaze.
“Boybands, huh?”
You roll your eyes and smirk, fingers moving to the button of his jeans.
“Shut up, Joel. Leave the boybands out of it.”
A car door slamming catches both of your attention. Heads whip on instinct, eyes wide like a deer in headlights. Your parents are home, and Joel’s half-hard in your palm.
“Oh, shit.” You curse.
Joel’s already moving, grabbing his tools off your bed, and adjusting his jeans. “Lemme handle it.” Your heart pounds as you and Joel greet your parents at the door. They walk in with fresh shopping bags. A cheesy sign for the living room sticks out from one of them.
“Joel?” They both ask in unison, looking between the man beside you and you in your bikini. Your mother’s face lightly flushes.
“Hey, Joel! Good to see ya!” Your father sets the bags on the table and grabs a beer from the fridge. You shift on your feet and just let Joel lead.
Your dad’s oblivious, your mother is more curious
“What are you... What are you doing here?” She tries to ask casually with a little smile.
Joel raises his screwdriver, strategically keeping the toolbag in front of his lower half. You try not to smirk.
“Was fixin’ your daughter’s jammed window.”
Your mother's face softens before she smiles. “Y’know, that thing has been jammed for… years. Thank you.”
You give him a tight-lipped smile and nod. “Yes. Thank you, Mr. Miller.” The light glare he sends you means you’ll pay for that one later. Joel clears his throat and nods, too. He turns to you now, and you share a look.
“Just… let me know if it happens again. Might need to replace the hinge entirely. Small piece of it could be broken, might be why it keeps slippin’ out of place.”
“Yeah. For sure. Thanks.”
You walk past your mother and open the door from him, but he still stands between your parents. What the hell is he doing?
“While I have you both, I was just tellin’ your daughter ‘bout a business trip I have comin’ up.” Huh? “ It’s not for Miller Contracting. It’s more for the town. I’m gettin’ materials for the old church-”
“Oh, the one with the broken stained glass mural on the east side of town?” Your mother chirps in. “We just drove past it. Just saying how someone needs to fix it up.” Joel’s lightly nodding to your mother’s words, her face soft as she listens to him with curiosity.
“Well, I was tellin’ her about it ‘cause I could use some help getting materials from a supplier in Houston. I’d normally ask Sarah to tag along and help, but she said she’s got some graduation parties next weekend that she doesn’t wanna miss. Would it be alright if-”
“Oh, of course! Yes, please, if you need her help and she wants to go, she’s all yours.”
Your eyes are wide, trying not to seem too shocked by Joel secretly sweeping you out from under your parents without them even noticing.
Joel turns to you, eyebrow cocked.  “That okay with you? Next weekend. Friday to Sunday sort’f thing.”
A whole weekend alone with Joel? Your insides are bursting, but you have to seem apathetic.
“Mhm. Sure.”
Joel sneaks you a private smile. “Really appreciate it. Ya’ll have a good rest of your evenin’.” And with that, he’s out the front door.
You couldn’t believe what just happened.
You try to act casual before you make it off to your room, but your mother’s voice pulls you to a halt.
“Ah-ah, not so fast. Back it up.”
You quietly sigh before coming back to the main part of the kitchen. She narrows her eyes on you and lightly crosses her arms. Your fight with her from yesterday is still fresh, and it makes holding prolonged eye contact difficult.
“Are you seeing a boy?”
Your eyes widen on instinct. Your dad pauses the sip of his beer and watches you carefully. You try to hold together a poker face as best as you can, but you’re worried your shock is already seeping through.
“Wha- A boy? Why would you think that?” The laugh you force out sounds too fake. And you’re a terrible liar.  You feel so hot all of a sudden. You wished Joel was still here to talk you in and out of shit. It was a skill of his you’d surely have to learn.
“Well, we heard the door close really late last night after you walked Joel out. We were just wondering if... You know, there’s a special someone that you’re seeing.” Of course, she hoped you would tie yourself down to someone in Texas.
“Yeah, did a boy pick you up after dinner or somethin’?” Your father presses, eyes narrowing protectively over you. “You seein’ a boy or not, honey?”
You didn’t want to lie, but you certainly weren’t ready to tell them the truth about you and Joel.
“Uhm.” Your brain scrabbles for an answer and ultimately chooses poorly. “Sorta. I don’t know. Kind of?”
Your mother tightens her lips in a smile and nods a little. “We’ll let it go for now, but-”
“God- Mom, please.” You groan and put your face in your hands, closing your eyes and wishing this nightmare was over.
“But,” she annoyingly emphasizes, “If it gets serious, we want to meet this young man.” She says with a firm nod before turning back to your father and putting away the items in their shopping bags.
Meet him? They want to meet the boy you’re seeing? What will they do when they find out the boy is actually a full-grown man, a forty-something-year-old with a teenage daughter? And that man was not only their friend and neighbor but Joel fucking Miller. Fuck. Your luck was running out.

I was inspired by this song:
𐮙ღ✰☾✿ღ𐮙
Summer 2023
Your toes sink into the sand, the warmth of the sun beaming down on your skin, as you take a cold sip of the cheap wine cooler you bought before you came to the beach. You and two of your closest friends from college decided on a whim to take a road trip from your hometown to Los Angeles, California. You all had the next week off for summer break and getting drunk and sunburnt on the West Coast sounded like a pretty great idea. You watched dozens of people walk along the coastline, several enjoying the water and others playing in the sand, some groups playing volleyball. You can’t remember the last time you went to the beach or even on a vacation. The last two years, you have been completely immersed in your studies, barely having time to relax, let alone have any time to yourself.
Los Angeles was the perfect getaway. Tonight, you had all agreed to splurge and go out to eat at a restaurant in Hollywood, just to get the full experience. Maybe even spot a celebrity or two. Your mind briefly thought of the idea of running into the Sturniolo Triplets, who you were obsessed with recently (which your friends were painfully aware of). But of course, that was delusional and the odds of seeing them were one in a million.
After a couple hours of enjoying the sun and sand, you headed back to your hotel to get ready for dinner. You chose to wear a pair of cute mom jeans, a tube top and cardigan, and a nice pair of sneakers. You didn’t want to dress up too much as you already felt tired from the beach and planned on crashing out in your bed right after dinner. You all went to eat at a gorgeous Italian restaurant, thoroughly enjoying the night, laughing and talking over good food and wine.
Once you got back to the hotel, you told your friends goodnight and went to your separate room, immediately hopping in the shower and changing into a comfortable pair of flannel pajama shorts and an old band t-shirt. You had talked about going out to a club or bar but you felt exhausted. This was your first day of vacation and already you had been stressing about your classes. Your friends forced you to leave your computer at home so that you weren’t tempted to do some extra credit for your school work. Sometimes you found it hard to just relax and take a break. You were trying to learn to simply live in the moment and stop thinking so hard about what to do next. Still, your mind raced as you lay in bed, attempting to sleep. Rain pelted the window of your room as it started to storm outside. You loved when it rained, the calming sound of thunder and raindrops on the roof usually coaxed you to sleep quickly. But tonight, you couldn’t stop tossing and turning. You were wide awake. You had the sudden urge to get up and do something – anything – to entertain you that hopefully would tire you out enough to finally go to sleep.
You got out of bed and slipped on your converse, not bothering to change your pajamas. You had decided to just go to the drive through and get an ice cream. A midnight snack would be just the thing you needed.
These were the events that had led up to you now in your car halfway down the street from the Wendy’s you stopped at, vanilla frosty in your hand, the other hand on the steering wheel as you stopped at a red light. The radio played softly as you ate your ice cream, streetlights illuminating the dark streets. There were only a few people on the road being that it was nearly one in the morning. The palm trees swayed slightly with the breeze, rain still coming down although not as hard as before. This is nice, you thought. This is my vacation. There is no time for stress. Once I get back to my room, I’ll get some rest. Tomorrow, me and the girls will go out sightseeing. Maybe even go to the–
Your thoughts were interrupted by a loud bang behind you as you felt your body jolt forward harshly, you frosty dropping out of your hand, vanilla soft serve spilling all over your lap and steering wheel. Your air bag went off, a piece snapping painfully against your forehead. It happened so quickly you barely had time to register it. After a good thirty seconds, you realized you had just been rear ended. Great. You thought. This is the last thing I needed. You looked out of your rear-view mirror to see a Kia attached to your bumper. The culprit, from what you could see through the tinted window, looked to be a boy around your age with long brown hair. You sighed in frustration, leaning your head back against the headrest. You hated confrontation, especially in situations like these. Not to mention you’d have to file this with insurance and that was another headache in itself. Reluctantly, you opened your door, stepping out into the wet street.
Fuck. You didn’t have an umbrella with you. Talk about the fucking cherry on top. Luckily the rain had significantly got lighter than earlier, and it wasn’t thunder and lightning anymore. You closed the door, walking towards the other car but stopped dead in your tracks once you recognized the person that had crashed into you.
There was absolutely no way. Had you actually fallen asleep in your hotel room and were currently dreaming? Because there was just no way that you were standing in the middle of the street, rain currently soaking through your pajamas which were also sticky with ice cream, staring at Christopher Sturniolo who had rear ended your car. Who also happened to be in a yelling match with Matt and Nick at the current moment. You had to be dreaming.
Your feet were frozen to the ground as you stood there, physically unable to move. How does one even go about approaching them? Oh, hey funny to see you guys here. I know you just crashed into my car but don’t worry about it. I’ll just be on my way back to the comfort of my bed so I can completely avoid this insane situation and also avoid making a complete idiot of myself….
“Chris, are you fucking serious?!”
“This is the last time I ever let you drive, you’re obviously incapable.”
“Will both of you shut the fuck up! I can’t find my phone; I think it went under the seat.”
“Oh, you can’t be serious. He just hit another car and the kid is worried about his phone.”
“I’d be more worried about the insurance and how much we’re gonna have to pay for this!!”
“Oh my God! I said shut the fu-“
They didn’t seem to even notice you, too caught up in their bickering as you had slowly walked closer, your voice quiet and timid.
“Uh, hey… Don’t worry about insurance or anything. If you don’t wanna claim it, I’m cool with that.”
You interrupted, trying to hide your visibly shaking hands and crossing your arms.
All three boys halted their conversation, turning to look at you with wide eyes as if they almost forgot there was another human being inside the car they had just hit.
“Oh my God, I’m so sorry. Excuse my brother, he actually has half a brain and apparently the inability to drive.” Nick said, an apologetic look on his face and then turning to glare at Chris.
Chris glared back at him, finally finding his phone from underneath the seat. He made eye contact with you, his glare turning into a sheepish look. He ran a hand through his hair, his mouth opening to speak to you, but Matt stepped in front, approaching you.
“You don’t have to worry. I’m actually the one who owns this car and I have great insurance so I promise it will all be taken care of.” He says, with a nice smile. You smile back politely, still holding onto your arms and trying not to freak out at the fact you’re actually conversing with these people right now.
“Are you sure? I mean, the damage isn’t that bad. I wont mind just forgetting this happened and calling it a night.” You laugh nervously, glancing at the busted bumper on your car. In all honesty, it actually wasn’t too bad. You would need a new bumper for sure, which might put a dent in your wallet but at the current moment you wanted nothing but to get the fuck out of there.
“No way! It wouldn’t feel right if we just walked away from this. Matt will get all the details and take care of it.” Nick chimed in, an identical smile to Matt’s on his face that made you feel just a little more comfortable.
Meanwhile Chris leaned up against the car, unusually quiet and with a look of stress over his features, stealing glances at you every now and them. He definitely felt guilty for causing the accident and he knew he would never hear the end of it from his brothers. He stared at his shoes and tucked his hands in the pocket of his hoodie, waiting while you exchanged information with Matt.
You typed your insurance information into Matt’s phone handing it back, while he handed you yours. You suddenly felt a twinge of pain on your forehead and winced, reaching up to touch it. It was then that you noticed there was about a 2-inch gash from the airbag snapping in your face. It didn’t feel too deep, but it hurt. Matt and Nick both noticed and Nick instinctively reached out to grab your arm. “Are you okay? It looks like its bleeding.” He said in concern. Chris then snapped his head up, his attention fully on you now. He walked over to Nick and Matt, a look of pure terror on his face as he stared at the cut on your head.
“Oh, I’m fine. I’ve had worse, I promise. I just need to get back to my hotel and clean it up.” You say reassuringly. But they were not buying it.
“Are you sure? Maybe we should call an ambulance? I really don’t want anything bad to happen.” Chris says.
“An ambulance? Don’t be dramatic, Chris. Maybe she just needs to sit down for a while.” Matt responds quickly. He looks at you like you’re an injured puppy, concern filling his eyes.
“Yeah, I agree. Let’s have her sit in the car for a bit. It’s not helping that we’re also standing in the rain like idiots.” Nick quips, guiding you to the back seat of their car.
You laugh nervously again, taking a seat. They crowd around you, looking at you like you might fall dead to the ground.
“Look, I really appreciate that you guys are being so helpful. But I’m not gonna lie, I’m freezing right now, my clothes are wet, and I just wanna get back to my hotel and go to sleep. Also, no offense, but I know you guys from your YouTube videos and this is a very awkward situation for me.” The words spill out in a rush, and you cover your face with your hands in embarrassment.
“Oh! I’m such an idiot. Here, take my hoodie. I have an extra one in the back.” Chris says, seeming to completely ignore the fact that you admitted you knew who they were and reaches around you to grab his dry hoodie from the back seat. He hands it to you, and you hesitantly take it, your eyebrows raised in confusion at his nonchalant response. “So you can at least warm up a little.” He smiles, trying to make you feel more comfortable. You do nothing but grip onto the soft hoodie and look over at Matt and Nick who also seem to not care a thing about what you just said. Matt says, “I’ll go look at your car if you don’t mind and make sure its safe for you to drive and then once you warm up, you’ll be free to go!”
He makes his way towards your car and Nick climbs in on the other side of the back seat next to you. “Sorry again for everything. I’m pretty sure this wasn’t how you expected your night to go.” He says. You then find yourself genuinely laughing for the first time tonight and start to pull the hoodie on, grateful to feel something warm over your wet clothes. “Yeah, definitely not what I expected.” Chris climbs into the passenger seat, turning back to look at you. “This is where I normally sit.” He states with a cheeky grin and you giggle, feeling a slight blush creep onto your face. He really was just as attractive in person, if not more, you realize as your nerves slightly settle down. “But I guess you already knew that.” He adds, his grin turning into a smirk. “Yeah and it’s gonna stay that way, you idiot.” Nick interrupts, making you erupt into more giggles as Chris’ smirk turns into a glare. “Shut up.” He mumbles, turning back around in his seat as Matt walks back towards their car, opening the driver door and getting in. He has a serious look on his face now, turning to look at you in the back seat.
“So… there’s an issue. It looks like Chris’ dumbass rear ended you so hard that your rear tire is flat. And I really doubt any tow truck is going to come at this time of night. Even if it does, it will take a while. And I wouldn’t feel safe letting you go alone. It looks like the best option is to drop you off myself at your hotel and have them tow your car in the morning. We can push it to the side of the road so there’s no issues.” Matt says, your heart sinking and you lay your head in your hands in frustration before he even finishes his sentence. Nick frowns and sighs, putting another reassuring hand on your shoulder. “I’m sorry. We’ll pay for all of it, I swear.” He says. You look at him with a smile and turn to Matt, ready to just agree with him so you can be done with this night already before Chris interrupts you. “Why don’t we just take her to the house? It’s literally 5 minutes from here and we don’t know how serious her head injury is.” He suggests.
Chris knows this is a crazy suggestion. First of all, you’re a fan, and you just met not even 30 minutes ago. You could be a psycho killer for all he knows. But Chris likes to believe that he has a strong intuition, especially when it comes to people and he just knows you’re not the type. To be quite honest, he hasn’t been able to take his eyes off you since he first saw you. Even with the rain completely drenching you and what looked like to be some sort of frozen dessert staining the front of your shirt and shorts, he thought you were beautiful. He already felt horrible for fucking up your car and causing you bodily harm. The least he could do was take you to his house and attend to your wounds. Only to make sure you didn’t drop dead on some random hotel carpet. Right?
Everyone looks at him like he has three heads. His brothers exchange concerning glances, awkward silence filling the car. Since when did he just invite random strangers into his house?
“Uhh.. Are you sure? I mean, how do you feel about that..?” Matt asks, looking at you with hesitation. You didn’t respond just yet, still adjusting to the fact Chris Sturniolo is voluntarily inviting you to their home.
“I don’t know…. I think I agree with Chris. I don’t wanna be responsible if you go back to your hotel alone and end up with a concussion or something. No offense.” Nick adds, shrugging his shoulders.
You scoff, extremely surprised at the fact that they’ve taken it this far. “No no no, look. You three have been really nice to me over this whole thing, but its just a little cut. I promise I’ll be fine. My hotel isn’t that far either. I don’t want to intrude and-“
Chris suddenly reaches out and lightly touches your forehead, blood still trickling out and starting to run down the side of your head. You wince in pain and recoil from his touch, your head starting to throb. “See? It’s not just a little cut, is it? You’re actively bleeding, and it obviously hurts. I know you’re just being modest, but I promise I just – we just- want to make sure you’re okay.” He says, his eyes trailing down your face, admiring it briefly, his fingertips ghosting over your jaw before he pulls his hand back. You remain frozen in your seat, butterflies swarming in your lower abdomen from the light touch he left on your face. “Unless you really do feel uncomfortable, then I understand. We can take you to the hotel. But like Nick said, we just don’t want anything bad to happen.” He added softly, turning back around, raking a hand through his hair. Nick and Matt exchange looks again, noticing the obvious tension.
You take in a deep breath and pull Chris’ hoodie tighter around you. “Fine. I guess I see your point. You can take me to your house but once I get this stupid cut on my head cleaned up, I’ll call my friend to come pick me up.” You finally say, buckling your seat belt. You can’t help but notice a small, smug smirk on Chris’ face through the passenger side mirror.
Once they pushed your car to the side of the road, Matt takes off with you in the backseat, your head leaned against the window.
I must be dreaming right? I’m definitely in my bed right now and this is not happening. You think to yourself, the intoxicating smell of Dior Sauvage cologne filling your nose, as you press the sleeve of Chris’ hoodie to the throbbing wound on your head.

wednesday addams x fem!reader
summary: wednesday becomes what one would call "jealous" and the only way to get her to stop is through confession.
warnings: none.
word amount: 2300+
a/n: this is a rewrite of my old wednesday fic "jealousy doesn't suit me well" (old version now archived)
Tumblr media
Ajax, a gorgon boy, was somebody that you considered your best friend. He was one, if not the most energetic person you’ve met beside Enid. You loved him dearly, seeing as he was the only person willing to even sit next to you in class when you first started at Nevermore, and your friendship with him quickly grew.
In present time, you hung out with a newcomer in the same year as you, a deathly Wednesday Addams, more than you hung out with Ajax. He understood well, seeing as your crush on the monotone girl grew like wildfire and he was distancing himself from you too, finding his time consumed by day-to-day dealing with his own crush.
A nice, peculiar girl by the name of Enid Sinclair, but God, did she have to annoy you that much? You knew she only ever meant well, so you tolerated her for the sake of Wednesday and Ajax.
As the months drew closer to summer, you made a pact with the gorgon that you would hang out with him a lot more for the sake of friendship, homework, and crushes. That put a toll on Enid, constantly being cornered by the girl and swearing to make pinky promises that you weren’t sneakily getting with him, which you mentally gagged at the thought of.
He was a nice guy. Well groomed, kind-hearted, intelligent, and attractive, but he just wasn’t for you. After all, your eyes grew into hearts only for one psychotic goth girl.
On the topic of her, your constant hanging out didn’t only affect Enid, but Wednesday too, the girl seemingly more sullen and dead-eyed when you’d drop by her dorm to say goodnight after spending the entire day with Ajax. She constantly bombared you with questions…
“Where were you?”
“Were you alone with him?”
“Why do you feel the need to constantly be in his presence?”
And every time, you’d give her the same answer.
“I can’t tell you.”
That wasn’t a lie, you genuinely couldn’t for the life of your own sanity and Ajax’s. She’d shut up after your responses, to your surprise, and give you a small goodbye before shutting the door in your face.
You felt bad, and you’d only hope your plan would work out in the end. Your shreds of hope being thin didn’t ever help your nerves as the days passed by like television calendar montages, paper after paper being discarded because you just couldn’t form your emotions right.
In the present timeline, your head was lulled down as you made your way through the halls of Ophelia, walking down the pathway mindlessly with your feet stuttering a bit as if you were a drunkard. Your hand rummaged in your pants, desperately trying to get a grip on the slippery key, and you shut your eyes in contentment when you pulled the metallic object out of your pocket.
“Finally.” A mutter was vocalized from nobody but you, rubbing your eyes with your other hand from your need for rest as you trudged up to your dorm room door, the space empty as your former roommate had recently faced expulsion for a reason that was still classified as unknown. You shoved the key into the lock with might, hand clasping over your mouth as you let out a deep yawn, feet stuttering once more into the room.
You were tired, but even saying that was an understatement. You felt close to death, your classes taking their normal toll on you, and you knew you shouldn’t have agreed to help Eugene get his bees in control at the tiring hour of 5:30 a.m. It had been nineteen hours since you had awakened, and last time you checked, that wasn’t a good thing in your books.
The bright lights lit up the room immediately after flipping the switch, verbally groaning, and shutting your eyes as you walked further into the room. You soon faced your closet, squinting your eyes as you searched for a fresh pair of pajamas, but your eyes flew open, and you let out a small yelp at the voice coming from the other side of the room.
“Back so late?”
“Fuck, Wednesday!” You jumped, your hands flying to your chest in an attempt to calm your breathing. Through your widened eyes, you noticed the girl sitting on your former roommate's bed, hands intertwined and set on her lap, her posture straight, and her eyes bored into your figure. “You are aware it’s midnight, right? What’re you doing here?”
“I could only presume you were aware of the time too.” Wednesday stood up, her posture still straight, and she walked toward your study desk, fixing up the mess that consisted of pencils and papers strewn out. “Curfew was two hours ago.”
You grabbed a plain black shirt from your closet, turning to give her a quick ‘really?’ look. “Yes, because I bet you care so much about curfew. Need I remind you of the times you forced me to break the rules last year?” The gothic girl didn’t reply, shuffling your papers into one thick stack.
“It was for commendatory reasoning. I know nothing about your trips; carry on the fact that you prefer to keep them private, but I can assure myself that what it is that you’re breaking curfew for isn’t an adequate reason.” She spoke calmly, well-paced, and formally; you could only mentally snarl at her quick-wittedness.
You moved to your drawers, pulling out the first pair of shorts that revealed themselves. Wednesday faced you now, her eyes never leaving your figure as she awaited a response from you. Her eyes were filled with their normal sense of death and destruction, but almost had a small glint of… sadness?
“And yet,” you started off, shutting the drawer closed and throwing the clothes on your bed, “here you are, in my dorm instead of yours. If you’re going to berate me for rebelling against a simple curfew, at least don’t be a hypocrite about it.”
“What were you doing today?” She disregarded your words; her body leaned against your study desk, and your head turned to face her, eyes unconsciously raking over her body from her shoulders to her legs. “It’s like you want to hear the same answer every time.”
“I’d rather not.” She pushed herself off your desk, the lingering of your eyes over her body not going unnoticed, a small smirk begging to form against her lips. “I was hoping to get a different answer from you—the truthful one, you could call it.”
“The truthful one?” You questioned. She did a curt nod, her bangs jumping slightly from the movement. “Fine. I went to Séance Society at 1:30, Archery Club at 2:30, and then Ajax and I went into town. We stopped at the Weathervane for coffee and to do homework, then we walked around before we went to a corner store to buy snacks. We waddled all the way back to the school grounds, and here I am.”
At the end of your sentence, you pointed to your shoes, marking your location. Wednesday only sucked her teeth, taking a step forward before crossing her arms. “And?”
Your lips thinned, with dimples popping out at the action, and you tried your hardest not to create an outburst. You questioned how you'd managed to develop a crush on her when she drives you crazy. “That’s it. Why do you care so much?”
Wednesday’s expression didn’t change, but she was having a mental battle with figuring out an excuse to say that would sound like her. “You are my friend, and I care about my friends.” That didn’t sound like her at all. “I must know your whereabouts at all times for your safety.”
“Bullshit.” You stated, your gaze now fixed on her. “You wouldn’t ever admit that, meaning that those words were an on-the-spot lie-”
“Well, we’re not on the topic of me right now.” She interrupted, annoyance lacing her voice at your accusations—your true accusations. “We’re conversing about you and your secrecy. Tell me what you do with him; I’m not asking anymore.”
Your eyebrows furrowed, and you let out an agitated huff at her sternness. Your mind was in a battle, deciding whether today was the day or if you should just tell her half the truth. Would Ajax kill you? Maybe, but your confidence was at an all-time low, and you had no other options.
“Ajax’s been discussing with me a... uhm, sort of... plan about Enid. Ajax has a crush on her, and we’ve been figuring out a way for him to, er, confess his feelings to her so they can date. Yeah…”
God, did you suck at lying, and Wednesday could see right through you. She advanced toward you this time, and from the distance between the two of you, you could see the mixed emotions welling up in her gaze. “What else?”
“Wh-that’s it, Wednesday. I swear-”
“But your swears mean nothing.” Ouch. “You couldn’t hold eye contact with me; your words were faltering; your fingers were itching at your arm; and your voice was half an octave higher. I firmly believe you are truthful in your speech about Ajax and Enid, but you’re lying to me about it being the whole truth.”
You gulped, your brain shredding under her gaze, and you thought hard. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5-
“Fine!” You huffed, stomping to the front door and crouching down to pick up the bag that you left. Wednesday would rather die than admit that she mentally flinched at your tone, watching as you ruffled around in the bag before pulling out a journal.
“Now is not the time to ask for my help on your homework, (Y/L/N).” You shook your head at her words, walking back to where you stood before and opening up the journal on a random page. Inside that page was a folded piece of paper, and your fingers twitched as you went to pick it up.
To say your nerves were at their peak would be a trivialization when you looked up and saw Wednesday standing directly in front of you, staring at you with narrowed eyes. You drew your hand out in her direction, silently telling her to take the paper, which she did not. “What is that?”
“Read it and find out. Not today, though! Tomorrow seems like a goo-” Wednesday took the paper, carelessly opening it, and her eyebrows scrunched when she saw how much was written. She looked up at you with curious eyes, not preparing to be outside your dorm room with the door slammed in her face a couple of seconds later.
You sank into the door, hands over your face, and you screamed, the sounds of embarrassment muffled. “Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god!” You repeated, bolting away from the door, settling into your chair, and gasping for air. You sat there for about thirty seconds, though it felt like hours, when a knock was placed on the door.
"Y/N, open the door," Your ears pick up Wednesday's voice, which is quieter than you anticipated and infused with a rare warmth. She sounded sincere rather than irritated or sarcastic.
You took a deep breath, getting up from your chair and going to unlock the door while swallowing your anxiety and peering out to see Wednesday's frustrated expression.
"Look, I know this is unexpected," you started in a voice that was shaking. ”However, what I stated in that letter is real. Wednesday, I've liked you for a while.”
It was like a major weight was taken off of your shoulders. You had finally confessed to the girl you’d been chasing for over a year, and you watched a battle happen through her eyes, multiple emotions mixed in her mind and overdosing her brain.
There’s a slight shift in Wednesday's mood, and you can see the turmoil in her eyes. "I do not understand why you would think that about me. I'm not exactly the easiest person to be around," she acknowledged, her tone containing a hint of vulnerability. Your eyes softened at her words, a pang of sympathy coursing through you for the girl.
She had been so despised, so targeted, even if most of it was her fault, that it broke her down — broke her mindset down into believing that she was unlovable, even by her friends.
You take a step forward, your attention fixed on her. "You may not realize it, Wednesday, but you are incredible. You're powerful and unique, and I respect how you remain loyal to yourself regardless of what people say. Your willingness to go against standards intrigues me."
Her usually stoic face shows a small crack, a glimpse of uncertainty. "I've never been in a situation like this," she confessed quietly. You found that hard to believe; the beauty of the girl was something you drowned in most days, but you knew that it was the truth because people were afraid of her. Never you, though.
With a gentle smile, you say, "Me neither, but that's okay. If you let me, we can figure it out together."
Wednesday keeps silent for a second before taking a cautious step closer to you. "You make me feel... different, too," she confesses, carefully choosing her words. You clench your jaw to fight off the large grin that threatens to form on your face, and your heartbeat remained fast-paced, but for a different reason this time.
You reach out, taking her hand with caution in your movement. You didn’t want to make her uncomfortable in anyway, but she reassured you when she gave your hand a light squeeze. “We don’t have to figure out anything right now. Consider this… confession?” You gave her a small smile, and it grew wider when your eyes fell on the corners of her lips, watching them twitch into the smallest smile.
“Confession.”

“I just don't understand why you won't tell us where you're moving to?” Kate gripes as she moves a box of your things into the moving truck. Wanda was happy to pay for it and even offered to hire movers but you didn't want to explain something you couldn't afford to your friends. After your trip to your home town, you returned to start a new semester at school. But you couldn't stop thinking about the women who made your twenty second birthday the most memorable birthday ever. They even took care of you the next morning and you never wanted to leave but you told them you had a flight a couple days from then that you couldn't miss. They understood and Wanda made you an offer that she allowed you to think about. She didn't want an immediate answer. She wanted you to think about it.
Which you did, every moment of every day. It was an unusual offer. But it was also a very beneficial one. It took her until the end of her summer break to feel confident in an answer. She had gone on several bad dates within that time and no one caught her eye enough to have a one night stand with. But she had plenty of nights by herself, masterbating to the memories of that night.
“Kate, will you please drop it? I’ll come visit when I can. Besides, we have a few classes together. It's not the end of the world,” you say to comfort your friend. When you finally called Wanda and agreed, she invited you to her office. She is a lawyer, so she had a few legal documents of the arrangement drawn up. There is a discretion clause, meaning that you couldn't just parade around that you agreed to be a sex object for the couple. She said that you are allowed to have outside relationships and even have friends over at the house. But until you could figure out a way to explain your situation without explaining it, you didn't want your friends and family to know anything.
“Alright, I guess I can't say anything to make you stay,” Kate throws her hands up in defeat. “Just know, it's your fault if I end up in prison.”
You laugh at the thought of her blaming you for her actions. “How would that be my fault?”
Kate shrugs, “You keep me from doing stupid stuff. Now I can do all of the stupid stuff I want.”
You shake your head, “I’m sure your new girlfriend will supervise you.”
“Yelena will be in the cell with me, excuse you,” she pretends to be offended.
The two of you share a laugh. You look around to see that everything you own is inside of the moving truck. “I’ll see you in class next week,” you pull your now former roommate into a tight hug.
“I’m not going to see you for a whole week!” she is upset by the idea, but you couldn't promise any sooner. Not when it's your first week on the job.
Live-in Nanny, is your official title. They don't have kids or even pets for that matter. But it looks good on paper for when you have to get a job after graduation and employers won't ask too many questions. “You’ll be fine without me for a week,” you say as you shut and lock the truck.
You pull Kate into a quick hug before getting into the cab of the vehicle. You are anxious to get to Wanda and Natasha’s. Wanda had messaged you that they have a special welcome home celebration planned. You wanted to be there several hours ago.
Arriving at the mansion again, your pussy gets wet at the first memories made here. The night of fucking and the morning of aftercare. Oh how excited you are to be back here. Once you park the vehicle, a moving team is ready to unpack the truck. You climb out and look at Wanda and Natasha with confusion written all over your face. “As excited as we are for you to move in, we aren’t going to waste time with that,” Natasha explains.
“It’s not a waste of time,” Wanda corrects her wife. “We would have been happy to help you move in,” Wanda guides you into the house with an arm around you. “We just thought it was to preserve our energy for… other things.” You shift as you think about what the energy will be spent.
“The little whore wants to ride our dicks while the movers work,” Natasha says to her wife in a low tone. Wanda shakes her head.
“Well, she will have to wait. I made a special dinner.” Wanda surprises you with a kiss on your neck. “But don't worry, babe, we'll have fun as soon as your stuff is moved in and the audience is gone,” she promises.
“Of course, uh, what are we having?” Walking into the dining room, your question is answered without either having to say a word. Displayed among an extravagant dining table is a full spread of delicious looking food. “You really didn't have to,” you say to Wanda.
“We know,” Natasha says as she pulls a chair out for herself. “But that's what makes Wanda so amazing,” she blows a kiss to her wife. She blushes and you love the way the couple interacts with each other. Wanda informed you that they've been together for close to eleven years but only married for four years. You asked her why they wanted to include you if they were happy with each other. Wanda told you that they have always wanted to have a more polyamorous relationship. But never could find someone that worked for both of them. Sure, there were people that were okay with being with a married person. But there weren't many that were okay with being with both Wanda and Natasha. You are the first.
The meal is fun and easy. You were worried that although there is a great sexual chemistry, there might not be any other connection. But, those fears fade as the three of you engage in conversation for hours without an awkward silence. The food was amazing and you made sure to compliment Wanda. She flushed and asked you to stop raving, “You can thank me later,” she continued suggestively.
“I most definitely will,” you say as you imagine what you're going to do with her once you can.
The three of you move to the living area to watch a movie. They insist that you sit in the middle and snuggle up to you shortly after the film starts. Halfway through the movie, the manager of the moving crew informs you all that they are finished. Wanda gets up to pay the man and his team. She leads him away and once the front door shuts, Natasha nudges you onto her lap. You comply out of curiosity and feel her erection at your entrance. She tries to pull down your yoga pants but finds it difficult to do so. Annoyed, Natasha rips the pants open so that your ass and pussy are exposed. She roughly massages your ass as you continue to watch the movie while getting increasingly aroused.
Then, Natasha unzips her jeans and pulls herself out. She rubs her cock along your entrance, getting it covered in your juices. “Of course, you're ready for me,” she slips inside and you let out a low moan. Natasha bounces you on her cock. “Oh I hate this part of the movie,” she says.
“Yeah, it's, it's, it's not my favorite,” you respond. When Wanda returns, she has a bowl of popcorn and she sits comfortably next to you and Natasha. You get turned on even more as they go about things as normal while Natasha is fucking you. When you had signed the contract and agreed to the FreeUse clause, you had no idea just how much you were going to enjoy it.
Natasha cums inside of you and plops you back onto the sofa. She tucks her softening cock away and they pick the next movie. Wanda takes your hand and places it over her bulge. You hungrily release her penis from the tightening pants and put it in your mouth. You love the taste of her cock, especially her cum which you are working hard to earn. Already on your first day, you have cum dripping from your pussy and cum in your mouth. You are going to love it here.
A few weeks later, you are laying on your bed as you study for an exam when Wanda enters the room. Her cock is standing out of her pants and she climbs onto the bed, hovering over your body from behind. She enters you without warning and you gasp. “Hey Wanda,” you greet as she slowly humps into you.
“Hey darling,” she kisses your neck. “What are you working on?”
“I have an exam at the end of the week, just getting some studying out of the way,” you say. Wanda reaches around your body to play with your clitoris, causing you to clench around her thick cock.
“That’s great, I love how studious you are.” Wanda praises. “You’re going to make a great business woman one day.”
“Thank you, baby. That means a lot coming from you. Oooh,” Wanda picks up her pace a little bit and you start to lose focus on your notes. She rubs your clit harder and harder until your body is spasming around her cock, milking her cum out of her.
Wanda doesn't leave before eating out the mess from your pussy, giving you another organism. She kisses you and wishes you luck with your studying. You thank her and she is gone.
A couple days later, you are making breakfast when Natasha walks in with her morning wood. “Wanda already left for work,” she says as she roughly enters you. She doesn't have a lot of time so she pounds into you until she is ready to cum. She pulls out and shoots her sperm on your back. “That looks good, have a plate ready for me when I come back down, please.”
“Of course,” you say as you finish making the meal.
One day, you arrive home after class to find Wanda and Natasha fucking on the kitchen table. You drop your things to join them. Gravitating to Wanda’s cock to suck on her as Natasha rams her cock into the woman's pussy. “Welcome home,” Wanda says through gasps. “How was your day?”
You pop her cock out of your mouth to answer. “It was good, I'm happy to be home though.” You take her cock back into your mouth and Wanda's head falls back at the over stimulation of her cock and pussy at the same time. When she is cumming, Natasha swiftly pulls out of her and pulls you off of Wanda by your hair and shoves her cock into your mouth. Wanda's cum continues to shoot out, making a mess on her stomach and table. Natasha fucks your face ruthlessly until she is releasing her orgasm in your mouth.
“We’re so happy to have you back,” Natasha says through her grunts. She pulls out of your mouth breathlessly and looks at her dirty wife. “Clean her up,” she orders you as she walks away.
Dutifully, you nod and start to lick up all of Wanda’s cum. “Thank you, baby,” she says as she lazily strokes your hair. You kiss her belly once it's only glistening with your saliva. She looks so beautiful and delicious splayed out naked on the table. You can't help kissing the rest of the way down to have your tongue in her sensitive pussy. “Ohhh,” Wanda says as you lick her just the way she likes. “I’m so happy you agreed to love us,” she says.
“Not as happy as I am,” you reply sweetly. “Besides, it's easy loving the two of you.”
Your words make Wanda emotional and she sits up on the table, requesting that you stand up. She pulls you into a deep kiss as she wraps her legs around your middle and her arms around your shoulders. “Please don't leave us.”
“Never,” you promise, because you have no plans on ever doing so.
“Nat and I have been wondering,” she starts a little nervously. Suddenly feeling very vulnerable. “Would you start sleeping in our bedroom, with us?”
You grin, feeling giddy as the relationship progresses, “Of course!”
Wanda mirrors your expression. “I’m glad because,” she pulls your ear close to her lips, “I want to wake up with your tongue inside of me,” you get wet at the idea of how much more access the three of you will have to each other now. You never thought when you agreed to go home with her almost a year ago that this would be your life. But you are so grateful that it is.

The following year everyone at the academy would be spending their junior year studying abroad. It excited you greatly. You had always wanted to travel out of the country but never had the opportunity. Every summer you had been busy with Ballet. You also didn't want to be separated from Fyodor or Nikolai. Which reminded you that even Sigma would probably choose to study somewhere else this year. Your heart dropped at the thought. Everyone had a different study of interest.
Being the Sigma family's heiress you weren’t expected to take over the family business. You had a certain level of freedom in your choice. You bit your lip. You liked things the way they were. How could you live without seeing Sigma, Fyodor and Nikolai everyday? You would all be making your choices by the end of the day and flying out as soon as the school could process your visas.
To your surprise Sigma, Ranpo and Dazai choose to study in England. You, Chuuya and Nikolai choose France and Fyodor was going to study in Russia. At the airport you were the only person who was teary-eyed. It was a new adventure and you knew it was going to be fun but you would miss your brother and your best friend. Of course you could alway write to them and they were only a phone call away but it would be different given the time zones and it wouldn't be the same.
The year went by faster than anticipated. You never expected Chuuya to take ballet with you and Nikolai but apparently outside of being there for poetry his brother pushed the idea on him. Chuuya ended up becoming a good friend and while Nikolai helped ease the homesickness you couldn't wait to be reunited with your family again. Despite Nikolai being with you in France he decided to take a little detour on the way back. He planned on going to Ukraine to visit his own family. So you flew back home with Chuuya but almost immediately parted ways after landing. Sigma would be returning in an hour or so, with that in mind you might as well wait for him. You sat on a bench zoning out as you heard someone ask you a question.
“дорогая, это место занято?”
You snapped your head around, mesmerized by the familiar voice. Softly you whispered the name of the man you missed so dearly.
“Fyodor.?”
You stood up astonished at how different he appeared. He had gotten taller in your time apart. His hair was also an inch longer than before but you've always liked that he kept his hair long. Fyodor cleared his throat realizing he was still speaking russian.
“My apologies, I forgot you are not familiar with my native tongue.” He set his bag down on the chair next to you and you took that as your opportunity to pull him into a hug while kissing his cheeks out of habit. Your French instructor wanted everyone to greet the people in your class with “La bise” and Nikolai would throw a fit if you didn’t greet him with kisses everyday while you were there. It's kind of been ingrained in your muscle memory for a year now. Fyodor's eyes widened as he tensed slightly but you didn’t notice.
“Fedya I've missed you so much!” You nuzzled into him. This was the best welcome home you could have imagined. “How? How did you know I would be here?”
“Nikolai sent me a letter. He wanted to be here for the reunion but his father wanted him to extend his trip. I had a feeling you would be lonely.” he pulled away patting your hair. As you waited for Sigma you both talked about your adventures abroad. Right as Sigma's plane landed he pulled out a small box.
“In the excitement I nearly forgot. Merry Christmas.”
You stared back at the box frantically. You had forgotten to bring back gifts! Opening the box you revealed a gorgeous locket. “Oh Fyodor, it's beautiful but I don't have anything to give you.”
His hand delicately touched yours as he moved to put it on you. “Well then in exchange for something equally as beautiful, you'll simply have to dance for me.”
You were taken aback by his words as he stood up to greet Sigma. Apparently you were so flustered Sigma even mentioned how red in the face you were. Fyodor only chuckled as you all made your way back to the manor.
After returning from the study abroad classes went back to normal. Only now you would often go out of your way to greet Chuuya since you were both good friends now. On Valentine’s day he asked if you could speak with him in private.
“I'm not one to beat around the bush so I'll just come out and say it.” Chuuya pulled out a box of chocolates and handed it to you. “I like you and after the study abroad I realized I miss hanging out with you all the time.”
You stared back at Chuuya like a deer in headlights. This was really unexpected. You got along just fine but you didn't think it was anything special. You thought Chuuya was a fine gentleman but you don't feel the same way. Ultimately it didn't feel like how you felt for Fyodor and that's not Chuuya’s fault.
“Oh Chuuya I'm flattered but-”
He held up his hand. “I needed to confess for my sake even if you did return the feelings so don't be goin’ and apologizing for things out of your control.” Chuuya sighed in defeat “You already have a crush right?”
You didn’t know how to respond to that but you felt eyes burning a hole in your skull causing you to turn around.
“You can come out of hiding now, I know you're there!”
When Fyodor didn’t want to be found he would climb on top of the roof's entryway and lay there watching the clouds. This was the first time anyone's found him out. He smiled of course you'd notice him. Fyodor was about to sit up when another voice joined the group.
“You found me!~” Dazai cheered in a sing-songy tune as he bounced over to the redhead's side.
Chuuya took a step back. “Hah!? Dazai what the hell? I told you not to follow me!”
“But Chuuya was hiding a box of chocolates. I thought they were for me. Plus it's not following If I showed up here first!” Dazai approached you, taking your hand to give it a kiss. “My sweet belladonna, when did you notice I was here?”
To be honest you were dumbstruck when it was Dazai who came out of hiding “I didn't, I was actually talking about Nikolai. You outed yourself.” Whenever you had the unnerving feeling of being watched Nikolai was always somewhere close by. It was something you surprisingly became accustomed to.
At first it scared the living daylights out of you. Someone had been following you and you didn’t know if it was a stalker, kidnapper or what. When you expressed your concerns to Nikolai he said that he'd been following you all day but he never saw anyone else watching you. You only laughed at the absurdity. That's when Nikolai started wearing a strong cologne that you swore could be smelled from a mile away. It was less unnerving knowing Kolya was just trying to make sure you were safe, in his own weird way. Bizarre, slightly creepy but ultimately sweet because he's one of your best friends and has come to your rescue once before.
Fyodor frowned, crossing his arms, he should have realized sooner what that smell was but it was fairly breezy and faint enough to disregard. Now that he thought about it he did recall the door opening twice before, but he assumed that the second time he heard the door it was someone leaving. He's relieved that he didn't make his presence known but he does wonder how the two taller men were hiding up until this point. He supposed it didn't matter as long as he stayed quiet but he fears his hiding spot may end up being compromised.
Nikolai ruffled your hair, appearing seemingly out of thin air. “As expected of my little dove,” He paused leaning down into your personal space “Although I was not expecting to hear you have a little crush. Should I be worried they'll steal you away from me.~”
Nikolai teased you as you rolled your eyes pushing him away. Dazai looked up at the top of the entrance briefly before asking “It's Fyodor right? The one you have a crush on.”
You tensed. Stupid waste of bandages. Of course the person from the detective club would figure it out. You were about to deny the allegations when Nikolai grabbed your hands laughing. “Good luck with that! Knowing Dos-kun, I should be giving you my blessing!”
You groaned “I never said it was Fyodor.”
“You didn’t have to.” Dazai interjected “You always bring handmade chocolates for him each year even though no one can find him outside of class.” Dazai waved his hand around, flourishing his explanation.
Correction, every year, since middle school to be exact. You made chocolate for both Fyodor and Nikolai but while Kolya gladly received the offer you've never actually given it to Fyodor personally. Since this was your last year before university you were determined to find him but then Chuuya confronted you and it turned into this mess.
Dazai pulled out said box of chocolates from his blazer. “When did you!-” You cut yourself off to look through your belongings. Sure enough it was missing. “Whether or not those chocolates are for him is no one's business but mine.” You tried to grab for the box but Dazai held it up higher, smirking.
Nikolai hugged you from behind resting his chin on your shoulder, preventing you from actually grabbing the chocolate. “Awwwww,” He pouted. “I thought I was special, I take back my blessing. I don't want to share you with Fyodor anymore!”
Turning your attention back to Nikolai you huffed. “That's a first, usually you're thrilled. Did you hit your head or something?” Brushing the hair out of his face you pressed your forehead against his. It was a little warm but not enough to cause concern but maybe you should bring him to the nurse just in case. Nikolai only stared back at you in disbelief. No witty remarks, no silly gags, just a far off stare. His shift in demeanor went unnoticed by you.
“Yeah maybe you should lay down for a bit.” You were still completely ignoring the fact that Dazai had your gift meant for Fyodor. Sigma has complained about Dazai's antics about as much, if not more than Nikolai's. While he's not a bad guy you still wonder what his goal was. As Fyodor's chronic chess partner there was probably no point trying to figure it out. You'd have to leave it be for now and wait to see if anything comes up later.
As Dazai watched you leave with a suddenly non verbal Nikolai. He grinned up at the rooftop. “It would be a shame for these to go to waste but with your name written on them? I'm afraid they might be too bitter for my tastes.”
Fyodor finally showed himself, leaning over the edge. “Then why get involved? I hardly see the merit in your little show.”
“Let's call it an intervention.” Dazai walked up to him waving the chocolate infront of the russian. “Why keep such a distance if the feelings are clearly mutual?”
Fyodor sighed, grabbing the box. “Again I fail to see why it is any of your concern.”
His concern was not about the feelings being mutual, Fyodor was always thinking of what could possibly express his feelings on white day. After a lot of thought he determined that gifting you land or a country would be sufficient, but doing so for years in a row would ruin the sentiment and he's aware that you are the sentimental type. Not to mention with your current age and relationship status, it would be misconstrued. So why bother? Fyodor was a patient man and he wanted his profession of love to be perfect.
Dazai chuckled to himself. “I don't think you'd understand even if I told you but let's just say,” He hummed putting his hand under his chin “You're not the only one interested in the Sigma family.” He offered a cheeky grin to the other who was clearly uninterested.
Dazai is right. Fyodor doesn’t understand nor is he that concerned either. The plan has already been set in motion and he wouldn't need to wait much longer. Although like he predicted earlier his spot was now compromised. Which is somewhat troublesome. He'll need to find a new place to hide in the future. Fyodor sighed but didn’t say anything more and left the other two on the roof. He had no business with either of them anyways.
“Hey jackass, are we done here?”
Chuuya crossed his arms walking up to his partner. When Dazai had approached him earlier even he wasn't sure what the mackerel's plans were but Chuuya wasn't too concerned. It's been hard for everyone in their grade level to watch (Y/N) pine after that anemic bastard for years. Honestly he felt bad but it's not his problem. He wondered if Dazai had the impulse to help or if he was plotting something else.
___
“I've talked it over with Dostoevsky, and after watching you over the years I can only assume you feel the same about this.” He chuckled  a little too giddy for your liking. “We’ve decided that you and Fyodor are to be betrothed and will marry upon graduation!” Your father said it with a big smile despite your clearly shocked expression. Your mind was going a mile a minute with the sudden news. This was probably the worst case scenario. Sure your dad’s heart was in the right place, you knew he would do anything for his little girl but this was pushing the envelope even for him. Did he really have to get involved with your love life?
“We wanted to make the announcements at the beginning of the year but we thought it best to hold it off until finals were complete since they moved them up a great deal from past years. Although we’ve been mulling this decision over since you were kids, oh how the time flies. My little girl is all grown up now!”
He engulfed you in a hug but what you thought should have been warm comforting words only stirred the dread in your stomach. Since you were kids? Did Fyodor know about this? Is that why no one could ever find him on Valentine’s day, because he knew you were engaged. The more you think about it the more confused it makes you. If that was the case wouldn’t he have talked to you about it or does that mean he didn’t have a say in the engagement either? Would he even want to get married, let alone to you?
It seemed your father was ignoring your visible distress and was continuing on about the wedding plans. All things you thought you would have a final say in but it seems he’s already done most of the work with that as well. A ring was placed in your hand and you were to start wearing it tomorrow as would Fyodor. This was really happening. By the time you left his office you were at a loss for words.
Sigma caught up to you as you were making your way through the halls and you showed him the ring on your finger.
“I’m engaged to Fyodor.” It was still sinking in and part of you wanted to scream with joy but only just. The other half of you knew that it didn’t matter since Fyodor clearly didn’t feel the same way. If he did want to marry you surely he would have proposed to you himself instead of letting your fathers' make the declaration. Fyodor knows how much of a hopeless romantic you were for that kind of thing and you know how much the other craves control. Thinking back is that why he gave you his first kiss? Now you were even more embarrassed about that night.
Sigma looked at you with an incredulous look. He’s known about your crush for years but hasn’t said anything because it’s really not his place to say. “I would say congratulations but you look like you're about to cry and that doesn’t exactly bode well for me at the moment. On either front.” He opened his arms for a hug as you flopped into them. “Why? Did father ask to see you as well?”
“Unfortunately yes and if that’s what he called you in for I can only imagine what business he has with me. For all I know I’ll be arranged to marry Nikolai.” He grimaced just thinking about it. Nothing against Nikolai but he tends to drive Sigma up a wall with his spontaneity. “But that’s not important, why is my dear sister upset? I thought you were madly in love with Fyodor?”
You froze. “Our fathers’ have apparently been planning this for years,” you grew quiet, exponentially embarrassed and flabbergasted that your family knew. “Are my feelings really that obvious?”
Sigma sighs rubbing your back “To everyone but Fyodor it seems. Either that or he doesn’t want to bring it up? You can never tell with him.” You pulled away. That wasn’t very reassuring but it was better, not, to think about it before you talk to the russian in question. Who knows your dad did say that after observing you both it seemed like a logical conclusion, maybe the feelings were mutual. Otherwise you were going to feel like shit knowing that you’re basically taking advantage of him and that your entire marriage would be a sham and just a front for your parents business ventures.
Now that you’re no longer in the room groveling in embarrassment, you're pretty sure he said something about desiring an heir. Although you don’t want to think about that at all, in fact the thought mortifies you all together. It just makes you feel nauseous without confirming Fyodor’s feelings because what if he views you like a sister and you were expected to make a lovechild together. This was going to keep you up all night. Would Fyodor even bat an eye at the circumstances? You tried to ignore the train of thought pushing less than innocent images of your crush out of your head. It was only the beginning of the weekend but you were already dreading going back to class.
Sure enough when Monday came around it’s all you heard people talking about. Your engagement. The entire student body was in an uproar because you both came to school wearing matching rings. Well, it was that and an article about your family’s merger and that it was rumored to be due to the young love shared between you and Fyodor. Which was a bunch of bullshit that your fathers’ had planned for better business. Honestly you don’t know if it was smart or stupid of them. Although now many things from your childhood started to click into place beginning with your first playdate. You didn’t know what to make of it and you didn’t want to think about it anymore. It was too much for you and you wanted to rip the bandaid off.
When the bell rang you didn’t get up from your desk immediately, you were too tired from agonizing over what you would even say to Fyodor. You rested your head. Arriving at school had been a constant flood of peers congratulating you on your engagement. Girls were telling you that you were so lucky to be marrying one of the most handsome boys the school had to offer. It reminded you that despite Fyodor’s cold personality he seemed to garner a lot of popularity with the opposite gender. So many of these girls, who you've never seen before in your life, were coming up to you expressing their crushes for your fiance and how if they were to lose their chances it should be to you. This all felt like some elaborate prank.
You were dragged out of your thoughts when the murmurs from the hall fell silent. Slowly you turned your head to see Fyodor with a semi uncomfortable expression. It must be from all the attention the two of you were getting. His arm was extended as if he was about to pat your head but he continued to reach out offering to assist you out of your seat. Your eyes were trained on the ring on his finger. It suited him well and even matched your own despite the designs being different. Looking at your own, you only now realize how perfectly it was tailored to your personal liking. It matched the locket you've been wearing everyday. The one that Fyodor gave to you after returning from the study abroad. You wonder who picked out the ring if it matched the locket. Surely not your father. Maybe the Dostoevsky’s had a favorite jeweler they work with. Was that a mere coincidence?
Glancing up at Fyodor again you swallowed hard. This was the first time you've seen him since the engagement. You avoided his eyes directly as the heat started to spread to your face. In turn you didn’t get to witness how Fyodor’s expression softened immensely, finally being in your presence.
“How was your trip?”
You had tried to get a hold of him when your father told you the news but Nikolai informed you that his father was taking him to attend a business conference out of town and you didn’t want to pester him because it sounded important.
“As expected of a last minute venture.”
He frowned that you were hesitant to take his hand. Now that you were engaged, Fyodor didn’t feel the need to hold back some of his physical urges towards you. It baffled him that you weren't reciprocating like your usual persona.
“You haven’t been sleeping well, shall I escort you to the nurse?”
His tone was indecipherable as always. You sighed, grabbing his hand flashing your matching ring to him as he gently brought it to his mouth to place a kiss to the silver band. The action made your heart jump as you looked at him with wide eyes. You could hear the chatter of your classmates resume in the distance. He must be playing it up for the audience but it still managed to fluster you.
“That's  not necessary!” You exclaimed bashfully before calmly adding. “I-I haven’t been but it's not that important. I, uh, do you mind if we go somewhere else?”
“Of course not my dear. As you wish.”
Your hand burned as he ushered you away from the crowds to the roof. The term of endearment made your heart flutter again. Fyodor checked if there was anyone else around before he motioned for you to sit with him.
Without hesitation you blurted out the demand that has been on your mind.
“You have to break the engagement.”
Fyodor blinked a few times before retaliating, wholeheartedly unsure as to why you would want him to do so.
“My my, I've been gone for three days and my fiance has had enough of me.”
The words were exhilarating to say out loud. He had been waiting years to call you his fiance, even though at the moment you appeared distraught. Fyodor shook his head playfully, smiling at you as you huffed.
“This isn't funny Fyodor, I'm being serious.”
“As am I. Why should I break the engagement? If you have a problem you should take that up with your father?”
He was trying to avoid how hurt he was at the notion. What happened to your feelings for him? He couldn't possibly have misjudged those could he? Dazai even confirmed them to be mutual unless that was his angle all along. That rat bastard sticking his nose in other people's business. If it wasn't frowned upon he would have him shot, stabbed, drowned and then shot again but this time by Chuuya for meddling.
The way Fyodor spoke so nonchalantly was unnerving to you. How could he be so unbothered? “I tried but he's planned everything to the letter. I didn't even get to choose my dress! So you need to be the one to break it off.” It's bothered you all weekend and kept you up at night. The only way to find out Fyodor's true feelings for you was to see how he reacts to you trying to stop your inevitable marriage.
Fyodor raises an eyebrow before wearing a very careful expression. It was actually Fyodor who made most of those decisions for the wedding. In the back of his mind he was worried that his father would deny his proposal if he didn't see any promise. Nikolai never had a problem being openly affectionate towards you and he knows your father had noticed that as well. Fyodor wanted to make sure he still had a chance to be considered a valuable suitor. He was thinking that at some point you would get to weigh in on the final plans anyhow. He favored being meticulous about those kinds of details, however he must admit that maybe for this instance he might have gone overboard but you deserved the world and Fyodor wanted to provide as much as possible.
“Is that why you haven't slept? You should try to rest while it's still free period. Our discussion can wait until you are in the right mind.”
He sounded concerned as he started taking his blazer off while pulling you into his lap. For the first time he didn’t know what to say to make you feel better. His body more or less moved on its own craving the closeness to ease the sting of you not wanting to marry him. What happened while he was gone? Did Nikolai make a move or did someone else capture your heart? Again he immediately blames Dazai for getting involved. Fyodor kissed your forehead holding you possessively against his chest. Where did he go wrong? His plan to win over the adults worked out perfectly. Why were you suddenly giving so much push back?
You were awestruck at the action letting Fyodor move you as he draped his blazer around like a blanket. It felt like this was a dream like you would wake up from this fairytale that your brain knew you craved. The kiss to the forehead plus the way you were sitting, you've always wanted to sit with him like this but it was too good to be real. Since when was he so physically affectionate? It made your heart clench, it was all just an act. Your head was killing you from working overtime. Despite it all you still felt overwhelmingly safe in Fyodor's arms and your eyes fell closed as you got comfortable. You loved him but you hate this.
After a beat Fyodor spoke. “We couldn't break the engagement even if we wanted to, not without destroying the reputations of our family names while we're at it. Would it really be that torturous to be my wife?”
His words were as logical as ever. At least some things never change.
You didn’t have the strength to reply but you knew he was right. Although his voice sounded strange, you couldn't put a finger on why. The wording was odd even for Fyodor but like he said earlier you probably weren't thinking straight. You nuzzled into him further, not thinking much of it and drifted off to sleep. You already got your answer anyhow. Fyodor doesn’t love you the same way you love him. That was the only explanation. He cares for you deeply but you doubt he loves you as more than friends. It would hurt you if you weren't already prepared for this outcome. You've known for years that he just wasn't the romantic type and maybe that’s why it was so easy to crush on him, because you knew you never had a chance.
Love, romance, affection? Those were all ideas you wanted. Things you craved to have but the vulnerability that comes with it terrifies you. To lay yourself bare in another's trust. It's why you push Nikolai away as well. He loves you so much and you're mortified to take a leap of faith even though you know he would catch you. He always has.

Eddie was the first friend you made here in Hawkins after being abandoned by your family. The sting of failing your senior year was enough, but the pain of your family being too embarrassed to house you anymore made it even worse. You had to watch all summer as all your other friends packed up for college while you were packing to be sent away. You were forced to go live with your aunt, which wasn’t the worst situation you could’ve ended in.
She’s nice to you, understanding. She doesn’t believe in traditional schooling, she says it’s ‘no wonder’ that you failed. She claims ‘You’re a special girl with the mind of an artist’ and ‘schools aren’t built for people like you two’. You love her, you just can’t stand some of her habits.
She lives a very hippie lifestyle. She forces you to walk to school, even on the first day, saying it was good for your mental health but all it did was make you incredibly sweaty for your first day. Although it ended up working out for the best.
You arrived panting and sweaty from your rush over. She hadn’t told you the night before that you’d be walking so you didn’t wake up early enough. You could not stand being late to first period, not wanting to deal with the entire class watching you find a seat. So you had to haul ass to school. You had planned out an incredibly cute outfit that was now ruffled, mussed, and damp with sweat. You wanted to cry as you sat down in the back left corner of the classroom, getting a nice view of the field beside the school, the trees and flowers that live there. You’re huffing and puffing, your breathing all out of order from you trying to regulate it as students pour in. You watched as the cliques formed themselves, having been established in the previous years. You took out a notebook and buried yourself in it, hoping no one would approach you.
The other students settled down and the teacher began her orientation. You aren’t listening as she speaks, watching the rain that's pattering gently on the classroom window. She was going on about the syllabus, informing you of the incredibly boring things you’d be learning in her class when he burst through. Opening the door with so much force that it slammed on the wall behind it, he was huffing and puffing, nearly soaked in rain with a bag loosely thrown over his shoulder. The thing about him that stuck with you though, was the blinding, dimpled, smile that was on his face. Despite being drenched, late, and the current center of attention, he had the largest smile you had seen all day. It was so genuine that you were smiling along with him without even realizing it.
“Mr. Munson. I see you’re in my class again…” She spat the words at him so venomously you expected to see his smile drop, falter at least but it widened instead.
“I am! Yes. I am! And I’d like to focus more on what that says about my… my determination, rather than what I may lack in this particular subject.” Again? Maybe he’s a repeat like me?
Something about the thought made you feel a bit fond of him.
“Mhm. That’s nice. Have a seat.” She continued to drone on as he looked around for a seat, his eyes widened at you, seeing you already smiling and staring at him. This snapped you out of your trance and you tried desperately to avoid his gaze, pretending like you hadn’t been watching him since he came in.
He decided to sit next to you and you guys hit it off instantly, later finding that you had almost every class together. You felt so lucky, he was so, so kind. He spent your first two periods and lunch together. He introduced you to his friends, let you know the special ins and outs of the school, and even offered you a ride when he found out your aunt was leaving you hanging. He told you that you’d have to wait with him after school because apparently, he ran a club called “Hellfire”.
Honestly, in the period after lunch, without him, you questioned if this was the kind of person you should align yourself with. In the next period, with him, when you walked in the door he waved you over and moved the backpack that was on the desk next to him. “Hey! I saved you a seat.” He had that shining, dimpled, smile again and you decided it didn’t matter what kind of person he was. He was kind to you and that’s what mattered.
You learned a lot about him and you feel like that’s when you started falling in love with him.
He told you about his struggles with his family, and why he lived with his uncle. He told you about his childhood and got a little teary-eyed, although he still kept his butterfly-inducing smile.
He told you about his struggles with this town and warned you that you may be subject to ridicule by befriending him. That was the only time his smile fully dropped, he got this kicked puppy look in his eyes as he lied to you, telling you that ‘he’d understand.’ or that ‘you don’t need to feel bad’. You told him you’re not afraid of some small-town hicks.
He apologized to you at the end of the class, saying it must’ve been awkward to listen to him blubber about his life all class but you, stars in your eyes and in love, adamantly assured him that you didn’t mind.
You ended up loving his club, the planning, the theatrics, and the suspense, were unbelievable. You were engaged the whole time, obsessed with how Eddie told his story, and invested in the team and their survival. You told Eddie about how cool you thought it was the whole ride home. By the end of the ride, you were apologizing profusely for how much you had talked about it but he, red in the face and flustered, adamantly assured you that he didn’t mind.
You guys have been almost inseparable since. It’s been about seven months here at Hawkins now and your little crush has snowballed into a bit of a colossal crush on Eddie. Nowadays, your Hellfire visits are filled with you just watching him. You don’t pay attention to the plot, to how the characters are doing, or anything… just him.
It’s getting a bit embarrassing in fact, because you’ll have fewer things to say on the ride to your house than you usually do and he’s begun to question it, asking if you thought he needed to work on anything and not believing you when you say that ‘he doesn’t need to change anything’ or that ‘it was so perfect you have no notes.’
A secondary reason you’ve started staring at him more is because you’ve been working on something for him; a way for you to confess how you feel about him in a way that you hope he’d like. You’re completely unsure of how he may feel about you. You’ve noticed a few things… the way he’ll save a seat and always give it to you, no matter who arrived before you, how he seemed to be somewhat softer with you than he is with everyone else, but you chalked it up to hopeful thinking.
You were trying to make a comic of the first time he invited you to Hellfire. You can remember it almost perfectly and for anything you don’t remember you can just refer to your journal. You’d written all about it after you got home.
You’ve been spending most of your time in the art room now, trying your absolute best to make it the most professional-looking, homemade comic anyone had ever seen. You think about the smile that Eddie would wear, even if he didn’t reciprocate your feelings, you at least hope he appreciates the art.
You’ve gathered help from a lot of unsuspecting people. You found out that quite a few girls on the cheerleading team are a great help when it comes to designing the outfits. They’ve started to meet you in the art room at lunch to help with the comic, slightly invested in the plot even though you’ve explained multiple times that it’s technically Eddie’s plot. They’ve also become quite interested in your love life, knowing that it’s for Eddie. They actually root for the two of you, they were all much nicer than you expected them to be.
You’ve started to miss a few club meetings as well. To be fair though, you aren’t technically part of the club. Eddie explained that since you don’t play you’re technically just a consistent bystander. It had hurt your feelings at first, feeling left out of the group but now it’s just convenient. You don’t have to tell Eddie in advance that you aren’t going and you don’t need to tell him why. You always go to the art room instead to work on your comic. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the cheerleaders join you after practice to help you work some more. You started to fall behind in school work, not paying attention to anyone or anything in class in favor of working on your comic instead. This little picture book has consumed your entire life for a few weeks. Unbeknownst to you, Eddie was suffering the whole time.
He noticed it when it first started. At lunch one day, instead of eating and engaging in the conversation you kept opening your notebook and doodling little things he couldn’t see. He kept having to get your attention and re-explain everything that was happening whenever he tried to include you in the conversation. Eventually, you just told him, with a soft laugh, that you’re not listening. You giggled and went back to your doodling, not even realizing that what they had been talking about, was the idea of you joining Hellfire officially, even if you don’t play. Your disinterest almost broke Eddie’s heart, it hurt a lot actually but he reasoned with himself.
Maybe she just doesn’t want all the heat, and bullying that comes with being a part of Hellfire. She’s soft, she just doesn’t want to say that right now, in front of the whole table. She’s so cute… She’ll tell me why, later.
You never did. You never explained to him why you cared so little about being in a club he cared so much about.
You began to pull away more and more after that. He would plan campaigns with you in mind, creating twists and turns he knows you’d love, imagining the look on your face and the excitement in your voice when you’d tell him about it on the ride home. However, you started telling him you couldn’t make it to Hellfire. You never gave him an explanation and he never asked for one, you guys are just friends… he has no right.
A little piece of his heart would chip away every time you canceled on him, breaking even more whenever he had to receive pitiful stares from everyone else when they noticed characters in the campaign that were so obviously you-coded. The confused looks from every member whenever they asked where you were, only to be met with a sad shrug, became a bit too much for him. He was still giving you a ride home, you’d arrive at the end of Hellfire with a shy smile on your face for it every day so you had to be staying somewhere at school. He was determined to find you.
He ended Hellfire early one day and set on his quest to find you. He knows you love to read so the library was the first place he checked, only to find the doors locked. His next stop was the art room, stopping to peep inside the cafeteria on his way over and shaking his head sadly when you weren’t there. At this point, he’s sure that you’re in the art room, but what confuses him is that he can hear girly, popular, giggling coming from the very room that you must be in. He rushes over in a half-sprint, thinking that some girls were picking on you but when he gets to the door he can see you laughing along with them as you doodle on something.
“I mean he’s… cute..” Chrissy Cunningham says to Eddie’s intense confusion. Who are they talking about..? What is she doing with Chrissy Cunningham? The other cheerleaders burst into a smaller fit of laughter at her words.
“I think he’s cute!” You say and Eddie’s heart sinks at your words. Who? He waits there for a while but you guys never give specifics. He watches the cheerleaders giggle and tease you about your mystery crush. He only witnesses the way you fiddle with your pencil with the biggest smile he’s seen all day splitting your face. It hurts him to see you so happy over someone else, he watches you as a dark, numb, pain spreads inside his chest before walking away with tears in his eyes. His hands were in his pockets, shoulders hunched defeatedly as he heard you girls cheering behind him.
When you came for your ride he wasn’t in the Hellfire classroom waiting for you, instead, he was leaning on his van smoking. He never smoked around you, not cigs at least. You had explained your many bad memories with men who smoked and how it caused you to just despise the smell, that it even caused you a bit of anxiety before you even knew that he smoked.
Out of kindness, Eddie just avoided smoking around you all together, but right now he was stressed, hurt, and on the verge of a breakdown and a cigarette was the only thing that could keep him from that.
He didn’t care too much if you minded, you’d already decided you didn’t want to be around him anymore, choosing to hang out with the cheerleaders instead, letting them coax you over to the dark side from right under his nose. He should’ve held onto you tighter, he should’ve known they’d try and snatch you. You were so beautiful, and you’d be so popular under their watch but they’d also corrupt you, turn you into them, murdering the sweet, caring, and loving girl you were. The thought broke his heart, hence the cigarette in between his fingers when you approached him for your ride.
“Hey, Eddie! I was starting to think you left me!” You say with an adorable giggle that he wishes he could smile at. He blows smoke up into the air, avoiding your face, and puts it out.
“Yeah. I was actually thinking the exact same thing.” He says with a humorless laugh that shocks you. You’re about to ask him if he’s okay when he gets in and starts the van. You rushed over to your side to get in before he drove off in silence. This is when you’d ask him about Hellfire and he’d give you the outline of what happened, but this time when you ask, he responds with “Same old, same old.”
You never thought you craved his voice as much as you do now. The drive is longer, some strange traffic blocking the way and the silence in the van gets to be too much for you.
Forget about wrapping.
“Eddie?” He hums at you, letting you know he heard you but doesn't turn to look at you. His eyes stay on the packed, unmoving road. “I- I made you something.”
His head turns to you so fast you can almost hear it crack. “You made me something?” The shock in his voice is surprising. It’s like he never, ever, had even considered that with all your artistic talent, you’d want to make him something. You have all of his attention now.
“Yeah…” You reach into your bag and pull it out gently while Eddie gets off the road, pulling into a parking lot. “I- Well, I was going to wrap it but I’ll just give it to you now. I- I hope you like it…”
He’s smiling at you as you rummage through your backpack gently for whatever you have for him. He tried not to get too excited but he couldn’t help himself…
“I’ll love it, sweetheart.” His heart is swelling at the idea of receiving a gift from you. That means at some point, somewhere you had seen something and thought of him, you thought of him so much that you just had to buy that item and you planned on gift wrapping it for him.
Maybe it's a goodbye present. Fuck- be cool.
Eddie tried to shove his thoughts to the back of his head, his heart was pounding as you pulled it out of your bag. It was a little book… A comic book? “Oh! What comic is this?”
He grabs it from your hand to read the cover and sees “The Brave, Bold, and Indomitable, Eddie the Banished VOL. 1” He reads it over again and again, believing that his eyes are playing tricks on him before slowly turning to look at you. You had a sweet, shy, and scared smile on your face as you awaited his reaction. “No fucking way.” His voice is a low, stunned, whisper as your smile spreads and he quickly flips through the little book.
He opened the first page and felt like he couldn’t breathe, the art inside was breathtaking. “No fucking way.” He examined a character that was definitely him, running his fingers over the pages in awe.
“Yeah, t-that’s you.” You scoot closer to him and lean over the center console to point him out on the page. “Here’s the rest of the party.” You point out more details to him, explaining why you picked some of the outfits you did, and why you chose certain trees and times of day but Eddie isn’t paying very much attention. He’s not even looking at the book anymore, he’s just watching you. You’re explaining every aspect of the page to him as he inspects every aspect of your face. Until you abruptly stop and he watches embarrassment creep into your features. His eyes flicker back to the page as you take your finger away from where you were pointing and he notices a little person in the corner of the page, almost hidden in the bushes as the party makes their way through a forest.
“What-” He recognizes it on further analysis. “Is that you?” He asks with a chuckle of disbelief as he pulls the page closer to his eyes, admiring your little character. “Why are you in the bushes, sweetheart?”
You’re stumbling over your words at the pet name. Eddie has used it twice in this car ride alone and you’re struggling not to lose your mind. “U- Um well… I’m- I’m just a bystander so… so I’m just by-standing.” You end the sentence with a sad giggle and your eyes shift to your fidgeting hands in your lap. Eddie’s smile falters at it and the memory of him inviting you to be more than.
“Yeah. I mean- not for lack of trying y’know? I guess you’d rather be a cheerleader.” He tried to keep his tone light and jovial as he turned the page, now looking for you in every bush. He’s chuckling at your drawings as you’re overcome with confusion. “Eddie. What are you talking about?”
He doesn't look up from the book. “C’mon, love. We offered you a membership without gameplay and you just-” He takes a deep breath as he feels a small lump form at the base of his throat. “You couldn’t have been less interested.” He’s giving you that humorless laugh again as he flips the page. You’re searching your brain, racking your memories, trying to remember when this happened but coming up blank.
“Eddie, I don’t remember that happening.” He sighs, shuts the book, and shoves it under his thigh before starting the van back up, sad anger bubbling in his chest.
“Listen, I get it. Y’know, you wanna be popular. I understand the pull, sweetheart. I don’t blame you at all.” You’ve never felt more confused as Eddie pulled out of the parking lot. Your silence makes him nervous, and nerves make his mouth run.
“I mean… When you got here- poor unsuspecting, you- didn’t believe that the first friend you made was-” He lifts his hands from the wheel for a moment to make air quotes. “The town freak.” He gives you that laugh again.
“I’m honestly surprised that it took you so long to leave us losers for the popular crowd!” His voice is still upbeat, and light, as though he wasn’t breaking your heart and insulting you to your core at the same time. “OH! I- I guess you just needed a ride, right? It’s alright, sweetpea.” He’s so frustrating, that fake smile plastered on his face as he pulls up to your house.
“Eddie.” Your voice is strained around the ball in your throat but still angry. “I don’t know what you’re talking about and I don’t even like what you’re saying so either explain or just stop talking.” He parks the van on your curb and stares at you silently. You take this as the ‘stop talking’ option. “Okay. Thanks for the ride…” You hop out of his van sadly and turn around. “I- I hope you like your comic, Eddie…” With that, you slam the door closed and rush to your front porch. Eddie waits to watch you enter the house before pulling out of your driveway, trying not to let his guilt override his anger.
On the whole drive home, Eddie is mulling over everything you said. Your seemingly genuine confusion over the invitation. He thinks over the original scene, you did say you weren’t listening. Eddie thought you meant it in the sense where you knew what the conversation was about but you wanted to stay out of it… but maybe you literally were not listening. Maybe you legitimately did not hear what they had said.
Eddie pulls into his driveway and opens the comic book, deciding he needs to read it before heading in. He didn’t realize how long he’d end up spending in his van, reading your comic but when he finally looked up from the pages, getting butterflies from your art and how vividly you remember his campaign, the sky was dark. He chuckled to himself and headed inside to get ready for bed.
Eddie flipped through the comic all night, noticing a pattern within your art. You were on every page that the Hellfire party was on, watching what he assumed was all of them. He was obsessed with your art, especially your character, and was psycho analyzing her when he noticed it. She was staring at his character. On every page the two of you were on, you were staring at him, your line of sight fixed on his character.
He felt as though he was losing his mind as he frantically flipped through every page. His heart raced as he watched your character watch him. He loved it, whether you did it on purpose or not, it was doing something to him. Heat rushed to his face as he put the book away and calmed himself down. He didn’t want to read too much into it but he couldn’t help the way his heart raced when he approached you about it the next day.
He wanted to work up to the subject, he wanted to pretend that it hadn’t consumed his every thought since he noticed but instead, he just blurted it out to you the moment he sat down.
“Why are you watching me?” His face goes red after the words shoot out, wishing he had taken more time to craft what he wanted to ask. He watches humored puzzlement bloom over your face as you giggle softly, giving him butterflies in his tummy.
“Eddie, you just got here. I was gonna say hi…” Your voice is timid, still careful after the little argument yesterday and fear begins to curl in Eddie’s stomach. He forgot he had been an asshole to you yesterday.
Maybe it’s a coincidence, maybe she was just drawing her “good side”. Why would she be staring at you, Munson? Get a grip, Jesus.
He tries to play it off. “I- I’m just sayin’ you could’ve waved or something.” He tries to sound upbeat, and cheerful, but he can’t get it to sound genuine. All night he’s been fantasizing about what it would be like if you actually liked him back. How he would give you hugs and kisses no matter where you were. He thought about how in love with you he’d be, it’d be pretty annoying to everyone else but he wouldn’t even care.
He knows you’d love it too, he’d give you everything he has, everything he had and ever will have.
He shouldn't have gotten so far ahead of himself.
He thought about how he would follow you to whatever college you wanted to go to- if you wanted to go. He would get a job nearby and you guys could rent an apartment together. He’d wait until you’ve graduated to ask you to marry him. He’d take you to your favorite spot, with all your favorite things, and propose to you in whatever way you’d want him to. He’d spare no expense on the ring- if that’s something you’d care about.
He’d start a mechanic shop with Wayne and they’d be so rich that you wouldn't even need to work if you didn’t want to. He thought about your kids, he’d hope that they look like you, they’d get far in the world being as beautiful as you are. He wants them to be like you too, good, sweet, and caring. He spent the night going over your whole lives together, his cheeks sore from how long he’d been smiling. But you don’t like him like that.
Eddie distantly hears the bell ring, not realizing he’d spent the whole class moping over the fact that you don’t like him. He looks around to see you’ve already left him. You usually wait with him, you like to chat on the way to the next class. Your absence has never felt so painful for him.
Once he’s gathered his things he heads to the next class where he sees your seat surrounded by cheerleaders, a small smile on your face as they seem to dote on you. He decides he doesn’t need to sit with you today, you have enough people to keep you company. He actively avoids looking at you for the duration of the class, rushing out once the bell rings.
He rushes to the bathroom, bumping into people and getting insults hurled his way in the process. He gets to his stall, with all his graffiti, and slumps against the wall to the floor. His mind is racing, his chest heaving as he tries to cope with losing you. She’s with them now I guess? But-
His memories flash back to all the times you guys hung out, just the two of you. He felt as though you were just a better, female version of him. You were an outcast but in the best- or worst- way possible. You were like a gem he had found in this pile of shit town, everyone else had overlooked you, not wanting to wash the shit off to see you shine, but he had. He didn’t care about the shit, he wanted to be there for you in the way no one was there for him when he arrived.
He thinks he fell in love with you the moment he found out you were also repeating your senior year, not for the third time like him but still. He thought it was cute how embarrassed you were about the fact that you were repeating, he loved the way he was able to help you be more comfortable and help you understand that it’s not your fault.
He felt like- He thought that he was something special to you, he hoped he was something special to you. He treats you like you’re something special to him because you are- or at least he thought he treated you like that.
Maybe he didn’t. Maybe he should’ve invited you to play in Hellfire more often, invited you over more, given you more of his lunch when your aunt forgot to give you money, and given you a better discount on his weed. Maybe he should’ve just been less of a freak.
Tears are gathering in his eyes as he angrily rubs at them, feeling pathetic. Crying over a girl in a bathroom stall. I really am a fucking loser.
He takes a few deep breaths before getting off the ground, leaving the bathroom, and heading to the cafeteria. He expects to see you at his table, and the butterflies in his stomach come back to life when he imagines the tone you’ll give him when you ask where he’s been like you always do when he’s late. He grabs lunch and sits down… you’re nowhere to be seen.
“Where’s your better half?” Gareth asks, gaining a laugh from the table. It just hurts Eddie more. He stays silent, pulling out his Walkman and letting music drown out every voice or thought in his head until he sees people getting up to leave.
“Hey, Ed.” Gareth is the only one who waited for him.
“I’m sorry if I was an ass earlier. I know you like her, I just- I thought you actually did know where she was.” Eddie feels his throat close up and almost rolls his eyes at himself.
“It’s fine, Gareth. She’s probably off with Chrissy Cunningham.” He says with a gruff, tense voice, ignoring the shock that plasters on Gareth’s face.
“Cunningham? What- How does she even know her?” Eddie shrugs and starts walking to his next class, Gareth following close behind. “She’s like what? Friends with them now? She’s gonna be a cheerleader or something?” Eddie feels his emotions building inside him, like an overfilled balloon and he’s about to pop.
He stops walking and turns to him. “I don't fucking know, Gareth.” Gareth’s gaze shifts from Eddie immediately. “I don’t know why she’s hanging out with them now. I don’t know why she doesn’t come to Hellfire or why she doesn’t talk to me on the ride to her house anymore. I don’t know!” Eddie is met with silence at the end of his rant. “Oh! I know.” His voice has dropped to a low, condescending, whisper.
“Maybe she got tired of being one of the freaks, hmm?” He rushes off to his next class and for the first time, he’s grateful that you’re not in it.
You’re in class and your thoughts could not be further from the material. You’re thinking about Eddie of course. The way he acted in the van yesterday, the way he acted in first period, and even second period. You noticed he came into lunch late and didn’t even speak to anyone when he did come in. He didn’t look at you, talk to you, or anything. It hurt.
You’re anxious, leg bouncing and chewing on your pen as you watch the clock. You need to see him, ask him what’s wrong.
Maybe he figured it out. Fear shoots through you. Maybe he figured out that I like him from the comic. I didn’t get to explain much but he’s smart enough to figure it out on his own. Is this his reaction to my liking him? No. It can’t be. Even if he didn’t like me back… I don’t think he’d treat me like this. I think he would let me down gently.
It’s a nice thought but it just leaves you back where you started. What is wrong with Eddie?
You’re ready to ask him. You got there first and pulled his desk a little closer to yours, hoping to have a full, meaningful conversation with him. He never shows.
This isn’t alarming to anyone but you, everyone scoffs when the teacher reads out Eddie’s name the second time. There are murmurs of “took him long enough” and “I’m so shocked” hurting you with their lack of care. You wait for attendance to finish before asking to go to the bathroom. You take your bag with you and no one questions it, knowing you as the ‘good girl’, not realizing you’re about to skip class for the first time.
You roam the school looking for Eddie. You check Hellfire’s room, the band room, even the art room but you can’t find him. You check places he wouldn’t be, the library, the computer lab, and even the abandoned school basement. Your heart is racing as you rush out to the parking lot, hoping at least his van is still here and that’s where you find him. Coughing on what you assume is cigarette smoke by his van.
“Eddie!” You shout his name without thinking and his head whips in your direction, shocked. A smile spreads on his face as you stomp toward him. Despite all the unknowing pain you’ve put him through today, the butterflies in his stomach are still alive for you.
“Eddie, what the fuck?” His smile falters but quickly returns as he goes to hand you the joint he’s smoking.
“You’re skipping!? You look like you need this more than I do.” You take the joint and inhale the most smoke you can without burning your lungs, Eddie looks impressed.
“I do need this more than you.” You speak as you exhale. Eddie is staring at the joint, waiting for you to pass it back but instead, you take another hit. “I need this more than you do because I’m not the one who is stressing you beyond oblivion! What is going on with you?” Eddie’s eyes are on the ground as he kicks the little rocks there.
“Eddie. You know you can talk to me, right? If anything is going on with Wayne or- or maybe something else? I don’t know I- I just- I can’t figure out why you’re acting so… different.”
He laughs. He fully laughs at you. His hand on his chest, leaning back and roaring his laughter into the air. “I’m acting different?” He snatches the joint from your hand. “I’m the one acting different, sweetheart? Miss ‘So sorry I can’t come to Hellfire today! No! I’m not going to explain!’, you’re telling me that I’m acting different?” He takes a drag
“You don’t care about my campaigns anymore, you never have time to come over, you never have time for me to come over, and now you- you don’t sit with me at- at lunch anymore?” His voice breaks at the end and he turns away to take a hit before you can see the tears in his eyes. “Don’t tell me that I’m stressing you out.” He scoffs and holds his hand out, passing you the joint.
It strikes something in you; Eddie still passing the joint back to you even though he’s upset. You take it from him with a small ‘thank you’ and take a hit before responding. “I was- It was the comic Eddie… I was working on the comic. It was harder than it looked I guess. I- I couldn’t get your hair right and-”
Eddie hasn’t reacted, he feels like he’s in shock, like his heart has stopped, he’s having a stroke, something. Your voice sounds far away as he’s buried in his thoughts.
I’m a dickhead. I’m an asshole. She was doing it for me and I’m- I was yelling at her for it. I’m a fucking asshole. She’s still talking to me so softly too. Fuck. Why isn’t she upset with me? Why isn't she yelling at me? Why aren’t I apologizing?
“I’m sorry!” His voice is the epitome of pitiful, he didn’t notice the knot that had made home in his throat or the tears that had been sitting on the ducts. Your eyes are wide and you almost drop the joint to hug him, knowing he gets emotional when he’s high.
“Why are you sorry? You don’t need to be sorry- what’s wrong?” His arms wrap around you, crushing you to his chest as he huffs out breaths into your hair. He’s trying to calm down, trying to not completely break down in front of you but he’s failing so far.
Fuck- fuck. Stop crying- what the fuck happened to you? Stop blubbering like a bitch- She’s she’s so soft- oh fuck she’s so warm. She’s so fucking sweet. I fucking love her. She’s- She’s so stupid.
“I do ne- need to be sorry what are you talking about?” He pulls away, leaving one hand on your shoulder as he runs his knuckles and the back of his arm along the bottom of his nose. “I was being an asshole- an asshole. When you were just tryna do something nice.” He’s breathing out shuddering breaths as he speaks.
She’s too sweet to me. She still has her arms around me- such a fucking sweetheart. I love her- I want her, I wanna tell her.
You don’t know what the fuck is going on. Eddie is a blubbery mess in front of you, holding you close as he tries to calm himself down. He’s gripping your shoulder so hard you feel like he may puncture your skin but you never want him to move it.
You should be focusing on the fact that he’s crying because he thinks he was mean to you but all you can think about is one thing.
His lips are wet and pink from his tears and his teeth.
You try to ignore it; the urge to kiss him. You try to think about how to comfort him but your arms are still around his waist, it would be so easy to just pull him in…
“Eddie. I don’t mind, I should’ve told you.” You separate from him and he gasps softly.
“I was actually spending so much time on it for a more selfish reason.” Your heart is racing but not as much as it was the last time you planned to confess.
How nice he is to you has to mean something, he gives you a ride home every day. That has to mean something. He gives you discounts on weed when you know he makes Gareth pay extra. How upset he is over possibly being mean to you. That has to mean something. The way he’s looking at you right now… That has to mean something.
“Eddie, I like you.” You shove the words out of your throat, leaving you breathless after they come out. “I- shit.” You looked at him. His face is blank. “I really like you, so much that if you don’t like me back I- I don’t care- We- we can just be friends. We can- I can pretend that this never happened… It’s okay.” You’re a little frantic as you get the words out, nervous at Eddie’s silence.
You risk a glance at his face and there are tears in his eyes again. “Can I kiss-” He inhales a gasp. “Can I kiss you?” His face is full of wonder like he’s genuinely in disbelief at what’s happening.
You want to cry. “Yes. Please.” You try not to sound too eager but you’re already taking a step toward him and your hands are reaching for him.
He’s all over you in an instant, whimpering into your mouth the moment your lips meet. His hands are covering both sides of your face, pulling you into him desperately. He’s twisted you up against his van, his hands moved to your waist to bring you impossibly closer. You pull away with a smile to breathe but Eddie whimpers and leans back into your lips.
You can’t help the giggle that comes out, breaking the kiss and causing Eddie to whine again. “I thought you wanted to kiss me? Kiss me.”
“Wait- I’m a-” Eddie pulls back to let you speak, although you can see he wishes he didn’t have to. “Eddie… You like me?” His eyes widen and his face turns red at the question.
“How is that even a question you’re asking me right now? I- of course, I like you. I can’t believe that you like me.” His voice is gentle as he speaks, tense like he’s waiting for you to change your mind about him. You shake your head with a smile and pull him back in, humming happily as his lips eagerly press into yours.
You guys left school then, Eddie drives you both to his place and you guys finish the joint on the way. His hand was on your thigh the whole time with that shining, dimpled smile, beaming at the road the entire ride. It was the best ride of your life, it had you thinking about your life with him.
How much you’d love him. How you’d give him hugs and kisses no matter where you guys were. You thought about how in love you are, it’d be pretty annoying to everyone else but you wouldn’t even care. You know he’d love it too, you’d give you everything you have, had, and ever will have.

Aita for secretly following my then best friend home?
(tw alcohol abuse, probably suicidal tendencies)
I know this sounds really awful right away but bear with me. Also this is probably going to get long, sorry in advance
tl;dr I followed a guy i was friends with and had a crush on home after an argument, even after he asked me not to come to his house, bc i was worried he might hurt himself.
Last summer I (20f) moved to the US for college. I didn’t know anyone outside of college and overall I was mostly on my own which was getting a bit lonely tbh. So I was very glad when I met this guy (21m) at a party of one of my acquaintances. We got along right away and he ended up giving me his number. After that we continued talking regularly and also meeting up every now and then and overall it was a lot of fun.
At some point I started developing feelings for him but prepared myself to just wait it out and not tell him bc I knew that he liked having a very active sex life and felt like he probably wouldn’t be interested in something serious at that time.
After a few months however, he began to behave in some ways that made me pretty worried honestly. I had known that he liked to go out and party but I hadn’t known to what extent. Apparently he would get totally blackout drunk at least once a week, sometimes more than that and then he would text me or call me in the middle of the night but often I genuinely couldn’t understand what he was saying. Sometimes he would just call me like that at any time of day, crying, saying that I was his only real friend, the only person he felt safe talking to and so on. On the one hand I knew that that wasn’t healthy behaviour at all but on the other hand my crush on him kept getting worse bc who doesn’t like to feel needed.
On other occasions, he would just randomly do reckless and stupid things like one time we went to a museum and he started arguing with the guard over not being able to take any pictures and we almost got kicked out. Afterwards he laughed it off but honestly it made me feel pretty uneasy. (I didn’t tell any of my other friends about that btw, they only knew that I was seeing this guy but wasn’t dating him.)
He has told me some things about his childhood which I don’t want to share here bc he did tell me that confidentially and although this is anonymous I still don’t feel comfortable telling random people on tumblr about it. But it is severe enough for me to believe that his upbringing and the things he lived through definitely contributed to the issues that he has now. I can say that he didn’t have a great time at home bc he is bi and while homosexuality isn’t illegal in his country, it isn’t really accepted either. Also it’s generally expected that children, especially boys, dedicate their entire life to having a successful and lucrative career and then start a family and he wasn’t really in the right place to do either of that (and he didn’t want to).
He also has been facing a lot of problems and racism here bc he is a poc immigrant from a country that isn’t in good standing with the US. So while I don’t pretend I know what he’s feeling, I imagine that all of these things would affect him quite a lot.
Now I actually get to the incident that is the reason for me to send this (it rly did get long TT but I want to make everything as clear as possible).
A few weeks ago we were just hanging out, it was all pretty chill and we just sat down to eat and talk etc. It had been quite a difficult week for me, also college wise, and I felt like I really had to talk to him about him calling me at night and while I’m in class and all that. So I said as nicely as I could smth like “I don’t want to seem overbearing but have you ever thought about maybe seeing a therapist bc I don’t think what you do is healthy in the long run and I’m not a professional who can properly help you.” He immediately got really snappy and defensive, saying that he “couldn’t fucking afford a therapist and even if I could, all they do is squeeze the money out of you and they don’t give a fuck about your feelings.” I was pretty shocked tbh and responded by saying “well if you really think this badly about therapists you should clearly see one” which was probably too harsh of me but I just couldn’t help myself at that moment. He then said “oh yeah?? I’d rather die than tell any of my shit to a total stranger. But you’ve probably already told yours bc you’re all so fucking dependant on them anyway.” and then he stormed off. (Just to be clear, I don’t have a therapist bc I don’t have any issues that require one.)
I was really scared at that point bc I thought that he might do something to himself (he had said stuff like “I wish I just wasn’t here sometimes” before) so I started following him which I now think was extremely weird and creepy of me but I just didn’t think it through in that situation. He walked for about 10 minutes to a house which I assumed was where he lived (I had never been at his place before bc he always said he lived in a bad neighborhood and didn’t want me to come there) and I stood outside for like another 10 minutes thinking abt what to do bc I realized that this had been totally stupid, also it started to get dark and it really was a bad neighborhood. I ended i up calling him and telling him where I was and he let me in. He was pretty angry but mostly at the fact that I had put myself in such a dangerous situation and he let me spend the night at his place.
We actually got together not long after that and as of now, we’re dating. I know it’s not an ideal situation and probably not the most healthy one but I have been able to keep him from drinking himself into oblivion all the time bc we spend most evenings together now so I think that’s a good thing. I don’t know where things will go from here and I don’t have the illusion that i can “fix him” or anything but so far it’s been pretty good and I really do love him a lot so I just hope it will all turn out for the best. I just still feel guilty for lowkey (or actually highkey) stalking him when he explicitly asked me not to come to his house but it was out of genuine worry for him so idk if it makes me an asshole, I guess I’ll let tumblr decide that for me.
🌃🎀🍨 for finding later

Can you do twst vice wardens (pls replace lilia with silver and ortho with ace) with a male reader that has a habit of not telling people about his various health problems. He has a whole iron deficiency and doesn’t tell anyone until he passes out in the middle of the hallway.
In the middle of a conversation he'll just drop an "Oh, my headaches going down" "you have a headache?" And such.
Thankyou!
"You what?!"
A/N: Hiii so sorry it keeps taking me forever to get to requests. I've been gone for a good amount of the summer on trips and stuff. I'm also dealing with some personal things. I made post about it, but for whatever reason it hasn't been seen. Anyways this request is so me, I'm either bothering people about my problems or literally never telling them to the point where it's concerning. I don't really talk about it but I do have some physical heath problems, so this feels nice for me to write.
Male reader, he/him pronouns used, author put his own health issues in just because, headaches, low iron, knee problems, heart problems.
Tumblr media
Trey Clover
Trey is a very attentive older brother type, it would be very hard to hide something being wrong from him
But somehow you did
After all, with low iron, you never really know somethings wrong until you stand up
The two of you were relaxing after a lot of baking
Knowing there was an unbirthday party coming up, you decided to help him out
Unfortunately, you did over exert yourself quite a bit
You definitely felt off, but you decided it was fine and that it would probably go away
while the two of you were sitting down and talking, drinking some water, the timer went off
You went to get up and take the treats out of the oven when
uh oh
for a bit your head felt fuzzy, and you went down
To say Trey freaked out was an understatement
He really thought that you died for a minute
after getting you up and sitting you back down in your chair, he got the treats out of the oven himself
Once everything was settled and he made sure you were okay, you got a very lengthy lecture about taking care of yourself and telling people when you don't feel well
After this he gets very protective over you, constantly checking that you're okay and if you need anything
great job, you've activated the "big brother" part of Trey
Ruggie Bucchi
Ruggie could probably sense that something was wrong with you
Was he going to address it if you didn't say anything? no.
Listen, it's not that he doesn't care about you, it's just that he doesn't want to make extra work for himself
But don't worry, he ends up regretting that decision
When you're laying on your desk in pain
He stops and doesn't know what to do for a hot minute
And then he's off
He's running around the school trying to get what might help you
Water, food, pain meds
You want it? He's on his way to get it
He feels really bad about it later, please assure him
he'll get mad at you if you admit that it's common for you to never actually teel people you're in pain
He's also paranoid from now on
He'll constantly carry ibuprofen on him just in case and is very vigilant of your body language
he's worried about you
Don't scare him like that again please he can't take it
Jade Leech
It was really just a normal day
going to classes, trying to stay awake during lessons, and getting pestered by at least one of the eel twins
While having a nice talk with jade, something started to feel off
your chest felt weird
It didn't hurt per say, but it felt like it was racing
Having heart issues, you immediately knew what was wrong
Jade watched with a curious look as you took your water bottle and took a drink
He questioned if you were alright, and you told him what was wrong
With a calm look on his face, he immediately takes action
Your brought back to the mostro lounge and told to wait patiently as Jade disappeared for a few minutes
He later came back with a small meal for you and more water
He assured you that it had plenty of salt in it to help your heart's hard work and told you to take it easy
Now that he's aware of your situation, he's extra attentive
He may know somethings wrong before you do at this rate
And don't worry, he never doubts you or thinks you're dramatic if you ever tell him somethin may be wrong
Also has liquid i.v ready if you ever need it
He's now the number one person to go to when you're having issues
Jamil Viper
Parties can be overstimulating
So it's unfortunate that Kalim throws one almost every day
After an hour or two, Jamil thankfully found a less crazy sport for the two of you to sit
The two of you talked for a bit, enjoying the upbeat atmosphere
Halfway through talking, your head started to feel fuzzy, but you decided to brush it off and that it would probably go away eventually
Then Kalim called the two of you over
You couldn't figure out what he wanted you for, but the two of you got up anyway
When you stood up, the fuzziness in your head hit ten times harder, and you went down
Thankfully Jamil, with his quick reflexes, was able to catch you just in time
after assuring you were okay, albeit a bit panicked, you admitted you knew something was wrong, but decided to not say anything
And that's the story of how you got scolded by Jamil about taking care of yourself and telling people when something was wrong
He's much more on edge when the two of you spend time together from now on
He's constantly pestering you about how you feel, while trying (failing) to hide his genuine concern
Don't tease him about it, please
Rook Hunt
Lets be honest now, did you really think you could hide something from Rook?
Getting it away from trey? believable. Rook? Absolutely not
He is vigilant, nothing gets past him
Nothing
Even when you think he's not around, he is watching and he will know something is wrong
And the second he realizes your head hurts, he is all over you
Like showering you in concern and affection 24/7
if you were planning on keeping it from him, too bad
He's not giving you the chance
Really, he's treating you like royalty
You're in bed all day, dim lights, water, and any snacks you want
And he's not taking no for an answer
he's an extravagant man, what else were you expecting?
And from now on, he'll constantly be checking up on you
In the most dramatic way possible
He'll gently grab your shoulders and ask if you're okay
And if you aren't he'll grab your hands and with the most dramatic display, be so distressed for you and also praise you for being "so brave"
Such a dramatic man, really, but a dramatic man who's worried for you
Ace Trappola
Joining basketball with the boys sounds like so much fun, right?
Right???
Not really
Especially not when you've got a whole lotta knee pain
But it's alright, just power through it, as most people say
However most people don't realize that that's a bad idea
And unfortunately, you are most people
Forgetting your knee braces sure is unfortunate, although you thought it would be fine
It was not
Especially not when Ace decided to pull an "ankle breaker" on you
And it did just that
But with your knee caps
Listen, Ace may be a total jerk, but hearing a loud pop and then seeing you collapse...
He couldn't help but feel at least a little bad
But limping over to the bench you assured him that you were okay
Once sitting down, you took a deep breath and
another pop
And right back into place
And now you terrify him
This is something you can hold over his head at the slightest moment he starts to be a brat
Him doing the regular teasing? "Remember when you popped my kneecap out of place?"
Don't ever let him live this down
Silver
Unlike other characters on this list, it is so easy to keep something from Silver
It's not that he doesn't care, he's just very tired
But once he fins out that you've had a massive migraine this whole time, he feels so bad
he offers to get you anything you need
And once you're all settled, he looks so guilty
He may start to wallow if you don't stop him
Please stop him
Please assure him that it's not his fault
He really feels bad for not noticing earlier
Afterwards, he makes it clear that you need to tell him when you don't feel good
He also tries to be a lot more attentive from now on
He just feels so bad
This is where you both decided to work on communication skills
From now on, please tell him when you feel bad
he's worried for you :(
Tumblr media
I'm finally back yaaay, but I took forever on this. i procrastinate so bad I'm sorry. I threw in my own physical problems too, hope y'all don't mind. ty for reading and gave a nice day :)

I meant to shear my llamas last spring, but ended up having to cancel due to yet another national lockdown—and it was actually for the best since last summer was so cold and rainy; not a good time to be a naked llama.
So we postponed things by a year, and our new appointment was today, and I'm so pleased with how it went! The shearer said, and I quote, that my llamas were exceptionally nice llamas. I'd never had them shorn before, so I didn't know what to expect, and just to be safe my mum and I added crossbars between the posts in the corral earlier this week—it used to be just a wire fence. I thought wooden rails would be more of a deterrent in case of a llama uprising (literally—Pampe's jumped over this corral fence once when she was a teenager.)
Here are the new crossbars, with fresh leaves still attached, for a bonus llama snack (they have now been eaten)
Tumblr media
I decided Pampelune would go first. Pyrgus refused to enter the corral with his mum, so he worriedly watched her being haltered and tied to a post from outside—I was hoping for a poignant mother-son nose-cuddle scene like in Dumbo but no, Pampy actually looked a bit offended by her son's wimpiness, and Gus was like sorry :( the corral is scary :(
Tumblr media
Pampy was so calm and patient throughout <3 She's a very chill llama so I was expecting things to go well with her. I warned the shearer that Pampérigouste would be another story—that was the reason I wanted Pampy to go first, so Pampe could watch her mother calmly being shorn and see that nothing bad was happening.
The only issue we encountered is that Pampelune likes to wear her ears low behind her head, as shown above, because it just seems to be the ear position she finds most comfortable (and it's the reason she ranked last in last year's ear contest), so we had to grab her ears and move them this way and that in order to shear the back of her head, and she very much resented it. Still, she was very good and was awarded a banana peel and half a carrot.
(Important bit of arcane knowledge: underneath her wool, a llama has the texture of very old and scratchy wall-to-wall carpeting)
Tumblr media
At first I hesitated to keep Pampe in the corral while her mum was being shorn, explaining that she might freak out about being trapped in a small fenced place with a stranger wielding a very noisy unknown device. Straight away she started debunking my claims by being very calmly and politely curious about what was happening.
The shearer had been previously told on the phone that she might only be able to shear 1 llama, because the second one is a bit of a pain in general. Pampe's never been shorn in her life and she's Pampe. A free llama. She doesn't like being controlled or immobilised or forced to wear a halter and she's not particularly trusting with strangers. It seemed safe to assume shearing her would be challenging, and the shearer was abundantly warned that she would be dealing with one Good Llama and one Bad Llama.
So, of course, Pampe proceeded to be The Best Llama This Shearer Had Ever Met. Just so she could complain about being unfairly slandered, I suppose. She didn't even dance around or lift her feet when her legs were being shorn, which is apparently something every llama does as a defensive reflex. She just stood there like "?? I'm a model llama. Everyone knows that. A pleasure to have in class. What lies has my owner been feeding you?"
Tumblr media
Pampe: "I haven't had an experience this boring since giving birth."
Baby Poldine: side eye
(Poldine was pretty intrigued by the whole thing. You can hear her quizzical hums in the video, and when her mum was freed she immediately went to sniff her and touch her all over with her nose, while holding her tail up very high, which seems to be the baby llama equivalent of cartoon characters going around with a question mark above their head. )
Tumblr media
Pandolf spent the morning locked in the barn because he tends to express his support a bit too exuberantly (I bet he would have volunteered to be shorn in solidarity), and when he was finally freed, he also had a lot of questions.
Tumblr media
Pampe's wool turned out to be a lot thicker than Pampelune's, and Pampoldine's father is also very fluffy, so I think my next shearing appointment will be just for Pampe & Poldine. The shearer was so happy with my llamas—at one point I was telling Pampy "That's a good llama" and she said "That's an excellent llama!!" and then she called them exceptional, which I've already mentioned, but I'm so proud.
She said she often needs to use a hobble or ropes and force the llamas to lie down on their side, like they do with alpacas, which tends to be more stressful for everyone involved when it comes to llamas, since they're bigger and struggle more forcefully. She'd also told me to have old towels at the ready, to wipe off all the spit we would receive from stressed or angry llamas—and no one was spat on even once.
(I asked her how she came to be a travelling llama shearer, and she said she had two alpacas on her farm, and her shearer offered to train her since there are few camelid shearers in the country; so she's now his successor. She spent the night on my land in her camper van and we did the shearing in the early morning, then had a coffee and she was off to shear 25 alpacas further South.)
Tumblr media
After letting everyone out of the corral I went to get a large bag to gather up all the wool, and meanwhile the llamas were rolling and rolling in the still-dewy grass, it must have been quite an intriguing and refreshing sensation! As close to skinny-dipping as a llama can ever get.
Conclusion:

“Honestly, I wouldn't date you!”
“The same goes with you!”
“Don't waste such a fucking handsome lad like me Y/n”
“Can I be honest?”
“Go ahead,”
“Fuck you! You. Are. Not. My. Type.”
It started during high school and continued until the last year of college, it was always been you and Minho. Never a dull moment when you two started bickering, a comedic show that your friends enjoy. Profanity and bad gestures, death glares, and fuming faces, everyone got used to it. Anytime, anywhere, whenever you and Minho crossed paths, nothing changes. But everything needs to be put to a stop at the end, yet, it happened in an unusual way, or so you thought.
The fresh color blue welcomed your eyes as you glance at the window. Clouds were so white and thick, the sea waves were barely visible down below, it was the start of your summer. Loud noises from the plane’s engine died down the moment it landed on the runway and the hint of excitement on your face cannot hide it anymore. A vacation is all that matters right now, after a hectic week of spring classes, the university finally gave the cue for a break. Two weeks were settled, and a week will be spent at Jeju.
Your footsteps were heard as you make your way to the arrivals area dragging your suitcase and your backpack resting at the top. The fresh air swayed with your hair as the gentle sunlight illuminates the magnificent exterior. It made you smile and decided to take a few pictures for documentation, some would be useful for Instagram stories. The camera focus had to go sideways to execute a short video, but your brows knitted against each other when a familiar figure shows up out of nowhere. It was a prompt to end the filming as your hands fell, eyes focused on the person. Minho.
He was wearing an oversized black t-shirt, baby blue loose jeans, and white shoes, his purple locks falling above his eyes, one backpack strap hanging on his shoulder, and a black suitcase standing beside him. Minho looks so fucking good with it, but it can't hide that menace personality of his. Is he leaving or did he just arrive? What the fuck is he doing here anyway? You thought and he felt someone was staring at him as he was busy with his phone. His eyes immediately searched the area and landed on you. A smirk was formed on his lips, it’s been quite a while since the last time he saw you and still felt the same feelings. Hate.
“What are you staring at?” He asked.
“An asshole,” You snapped which made him laugh halfheartedly. “What are you doing here anyway?”
“You never changed Y/n, tsk,” He said shaking his head. “I’m here for a vacation, and you?”
“Likewise, but I hope not to see you around,” You roll your eyes as the smirk never left his face, shoving his phone inside the pocket of his jeans.
“Me either you nincompoop,” He said as his smile faded, breaking the gaze.
You roll your eyes again and waited for a taxi to come by wishing to disappear immediately. It was a fair afternoon, you promised to make yourself stress-free for the whole trip and sleep in the hotel when you arrive, but things doesn’t seem to go in your way when Minho pushed himself inside the taxi you waved your hand for.
“Thanks for the ride love,” He smirked before leaving making you groan in frustration.
“I hate that asshole,” You sighed in response and got another taxi instead.
Closing your eyes, you tried to manipulate a comfortable atmosphere after being pestered by someone you hate. Years have already passed yet you still felt the same way the moment you met him during high school. He was another usual student, you thought, he was always quiet and cold except when he was with his friends which became your circle of friends as well. Minho was warm inside when he gets sincere, but not everyone melts his heart, that includes you. It was strange, you didn’t know exactly why, but because he treats you that way, you learned to act like him. Even regretted that bright smile you gave him the first time you met when only a face of judgment was plastered all over his face as a response.
Scoffing at the thought, you opened your eyes to enjoy the scenery outside. The thoughts of Minho would ruin your vacation, all you need is space and alone time. It was a hotel where Chan used to tell stories about, a real estate that his aunt owns somewhere in Jeju. A week's vacation in their hotel just beside a fancy beach, the nightclub is open every Thursday 'til Saturday, two swimming pools, one on the ground floor and one on the rooftop, and free access to breakfast and spa. You were all hyped up when he said he would try to make a reservation for you. He’s the type to keep his promises and gave you details a week later. Everything was settled and you were going to stay there for a week, with a minimum fee after his aunt decided to give a discount out of nowhere. It was a bit strange.
A sigh escaped from your lips, glancing at the front. Minho’s taxi was just ahead of you, taking the same direction as to where you were heading to. The hotel was already in sight, the view of the blue waters kilometers away shines after a short while on the road. Rays of Sunshine made sparkles, and birds fly high above it. It was nature friendly, and the excitement riles up from the minimum, but the sight of Minho getting off at the same destination tried to fade that smile of yours. Why is he taking the same hotel when there are other hotels around? It was reasonable enough that Chan must’ve mentioned it to him, all you just hoped is not having the same floor.
You paid for the ride and took off, Minho was heading to the front desk as you followed him from behind. The interior of the hotel was even fancier than the brochure. White walls and baby blue curtains, high ceilings with a magnificent chandelier in the middle, statues of angels, different types of flowers enveloped the entrance to the pathway, grand stairs, and doric columns, your eyes sparkled at the sight. Too immersed in the view, you didn’t notice his figure ahead and stumbled upon his back, breaking your fantasy with a grunt from him.
“Are you following me?” He asked acting scared the shit out of his dear life the moment he laid his eyes on you.
“Don’t set your high hopes on me, the last thing I want to do is to get involved with you,” You snapped as he rolled his eyes.
“Sure, whatever,” He said as he started talking to the staff. “Room reservation under Lee Minho please,”
You roll your eyes in response as you waited at the back. Crossing your arms, you went back to admiring the interior again. An aesthetically pleasing view for an architect major like you, but waiting for him to finish his reservation talk leads to impatience.
“I’m sorry but I only reserved it for myself, I didn’t put any names in the application form.” He said as that caught your attention.
“But it indicates from the form that the hotel website received is you’re with Ms. (y/l/n) (y/f/n).” The staff said which made both of your eyes widen in shock.
“Excuse me?” You asked, getting in between the conversation. The staff’s eyes landed on you as they smiled at you. “I heard my name, what’s this all about?”
“Can I have your IDs please?” They asked.
“Why would I room with someone I don’t like?” Minho asked as you took out your identification card from your wallet.
“The same goes with me, I asked Chan to make me a reservation,” You snapped, giving it to the staff.
“Good for you, I applied myself alone,” Minho sighed in frustration. “How did this happen?” He added, handing his ID.
“The form was from you Mr. Lee since it is your email that was used, Ms. (y/l/n)’s name is also being indicated during the application,” The staff answered, showing the monitor of their computer. You leaned closer to read, you never filled anything since Chan said he got your back. Minho was also complacent about the form he submitted.
“I didn’t type her name on it,” Minho defended.
“This is already reserved and you even paid for it, if you wish to have separate rooms, we cannot give you a vacant one as of the moment because we are packed,” The staff explained, as you had to reread everything from the top to bottom.
“I think Chan messed up my reservation,” You said, gaining back your composure with a palm on the forehead for getting a headache, unable to process everything.
“No, he messed up MY reservation,” Minho hissed underneath his breath.
“How so?” You asked as he glared at you.
“I was filling up the form using his laptop saying he’d be the one to submit it to the site, he paid half because it is his aunt’s fucking hotel, he probably typed your name under the ‘other guest’ list, fuck it,” He said when you facepalm and reached for you phone to type his number.
“It will be a waste if you don’t take it, this reservation is up for the whole week,” The staff added.
“Can you just give us a refund?” Minho asked
“I’m sorry Sir, but as per the hotel’s policy, we strictly don’t offer refunds,”
Minho sighed harshly trying not to lose it, he rested his forehead on the desk grabbing his hair in frustration. Chan wasn’t picking up his phone and it’s driving you nuts as well, you were doubtful that the money he asked from you was half of the payment for the reservation. The staff was also acting a little bit weird as per your senses but that wasn’t the issue. Going to be roommates with Minho is like living in hell, you were already living a hellish life on land, how much more like it to be with him. The one you hate the most is going to be stuck with you the whole week.
“Fine, we’ll take it,” He said after a few moments of silence.
“What?” You asked, being bewildered. “I can’t just spend an entire week with you?”
“Babe, if you don’t want it, you can leave, I will have it all for myself, even the money you paid, it’s not a big deal,” He smirked.
“That’s not fair,” You scoffed.
The staff was right as you would agree, it would be a waste of money and opportunity to reject a vacation. You can survive a week with him, just focus on your routines, you thought. It is a rare experience to come to Jeju and enjoy the company, except for the man standing beside you.
“It’s not fair, I know, but up to you,” He shrugged. “Give me the keys and room number please,” He smiled at the staff, leaving you dumbfounded.
“Have a wonderful stay Sir,” The staff smiled at him and offered the keycard with the room number with it. He fled for the elevator as you stayed with the staff. Thoughts running across your mind, filling in with a debate whether to pursue him or not. Your next flight for the round trip is scheduled for next week and looking for a hotel after dark would be a struggle. His figure started to fade from your sight making you contemplate a decision.
“Fuck, fine, I’ll go,” You said. “Do you have extra keycards?” You asked the staff who was watching the two of you.
“I gave him two just in case you’d change your mind,” They smiled as another sigh escaped from your lips and ran to catch him.
“Minho!” You called as you enter the elevator.
“Have a romantic stay you two!” The staff teased as both of your figures vanished in their sight by the time the doors closed. You heard it loud and clear, but Minho just laughed it out, while you were not pleased.
“Hello you,” He smirked. “What made you change your mind?”
“None of your business, give me the other keycard.” You said as he gave you the other one.
Snatching it away from his hand, the boy just laughed at your frustration. He loves seeing you suffer in some ways. The hotel was 25 floors high, and your room is on the 19th floor. A long ride in the elevator made the atmosphere awkward. Minho became quiet after the small talk, tightening his grip on the handle of his suitcase as you stood beside him, staring at your reflection by the door, aimlessly.
You followed him outside as he lead you to the room.
“I can’t believe I’m spending an entire week with you,” You sighed in disappointment.
“Your loss if you won’t,” He said giving you his usual smile but it was teasing you. A sound was heard from the door indicating its opened. Minho slipped a card inside the hotel card switch and opened the lights only to make you more annoyed.
“It’s not losing–only one bed?!” You exclaimed the moment you saw the extension of the interior which made him drag his attention to you.
“What are you talking about?” He asked as his eyes landed solely on the king-sized bed in the middle of the room. “Oh, fuck,” He hissed, closing his eyes in frustration.
“I’m sleeping on the floor,” You said, taking your luggage and proceeding to the closet to have your things placed.
“You don’t want to share the bed with me and cuddle?” He smirked.
“No, fuck you!” You snapped at him.
“Sure, I’ll fuck you hard then,” He said still carrying that teasing smile of his as you smacked his arm.
“I hate you so much, just wait until the week is over I’m not going to see you again! Ever!” You exclaimed at him.
“Likewise, but don’t sleep on the bed, it’s uncomfortable, just put a pillow in between us or whatever, I’m using the bathroom,” He said, leaving his things unattendedーgoing away. You just stood there in front of the closet, clothes rested in your hands, sighing at the thought.
“It’s a cruel summer indeed,”
Night fell, and you decided to leave the room to take a stroll down to the swimming pool on the ground floor as Minho took the whole room by himself to sleep. It was a tiring day for you, disaster followed. But despite the tragedy, it can’t break the fact that the place is ethereal, minus your unexpected roommate. Your footsteps just encircled the pool, walking around made you at peace, especially when it was the evening. The moon was high and bright as it reflected the blue waters of the pool. It caught your attention, a beautiful distraction from exhaustion.
You decided to sit down, soaking your legs in the cold blue liquid. Lights flashed gently and the sounds of them became more relaxing. It was peaceful without your phone. Minho had to struggle waking up from his deep slumber after it blasted your weird ringtone, a chorus of a song. An irritated groan escaped from his lips as his hands searched for the noisy device at the side table. No luck, he sat up with messy hair, drowsy eyes, and a hint of annoyance to find your phone.
“Damn, Y/n, why did you leave it here?!” He hissed, snatching your phone laying on the other side of the bed. His eyes scanned the screen only to find out Chan was calling you. “Fuck, you finally showed up.” He grumbled, swiping the answer button.
“Hello?” Chan’s voice echoed.
“Eyy~ what’s up? I know that you did us dirty,” Minho's voice was heard making Chan laugh.
“Ya, why do you have Y/n’s phone? I was going to apologize for not taking their calls this afternoon,” Chan answered as Minho smirked in response.
“She went out without her phone,” He sighed. “I’m sharing a room and a bed with her, thanks a lot.” But Chan only laughed even harder. “Does this seem funny to you?”
“I’m sorry,” Chan’s laugh faded.
“Yeah, whatever, if you’re looking for her then call her later. I’m in our room and I don’t know where she went, too dumb to leave her phone. I don’t care anymore, I–” Minho said but was cut off when Chan sighed at the end of the line.
“Look, I didn’t do this to make your relationship grow even worse. It’s been a while since high school Minho, makeup with Y/n,” Chan said.
“Why should I?” Minho said, firmly holding your phone pressed against his ear. “She doesn’t like me, she hates me.”
“You said you feel different, why are you acting like this?” Chan asked. “This is the only way I can help you two, I can’t have you hate each other for life, Minho.” The latter fell into silence after that, closing his eyes, he took a deep sigh, licked his lips, and took a glance at the empty side of the bed with a book you read an hour ago left unattended.
“I’ll tell her that you called when she comes back, good night hyung,” Minho said changing the subject before dropping the call. Chan wasn’t able to say something, the younger one’s heart was too hard to manipulate.
Minho’s back pressed against the mattress, hands covering his face before a sigh came out of his mouth. He stared at the while ceiling before glancing at your phone’s screen. It was a picture of you, so beautiful even if you were just wearing your pajamas with an oversized white shirt, smiling at the camera. It made his heart beat but he couldn’t bear the fact that he hates how he feels, and how you feel towards him. Hate, it was all hate.
It started as a joke during your junior year of high school. He loves being a menace, but his joke was taken too seriously that it hurt his feelings. You didn’t like him as much as he didn’t like you, but Minho did have a soft spot for the people he cared for. He lied a few times, not everyone melts his heart, he said, you made it pound. A moment that rarely comes, the feeling he longed for.
“Honestly, I wouldn't date you!” That was the one he said, a joke that wanted to annoy the hell out of you. A way of taking your attention, a coping mechanism from the hurtful truth that you won’t ever return how much he feels for you.
“The same goes with you!” A response that he thought was just the usual answer to an insult.
“Don't waste such a fucking handsome lad like me Y/n” A teasing backfire that he half-meant.
“Can I be honest?”
“Go ahead,”
“Fuck you! You. Are. Not. My. Type.” It felt like a dagger pierced his chest.
It was so vivid, a memory he had a few years ago still chases him. A matter of his heart that he couldn’t take it off of his body. He tried to sympathize and leave it behind after graduation but college drew him back when he knew you were attending the same university. Fate exists, but it’s not for everyone. The thought of it was childish, a simple scenario that some experience in their lives, but he’s beating himself because of it. Even the hating game pursues, he couldn’t get the shit out of loving you. Everyone knew, except you, Chan already made a move but he won’t budge, a headstrong young lad can’t get out of the verge of moving on and made a resort of hating you as a cover of pain.
Minho left the bed to change his clothes and wore his perfume and an Apple watch. He won’t be able to sleep again. The thought of you would mess it up, thanks to Chan as well. That was the time you came back from outside. The door opened gently, revealing the guy who was wearing a black long-sleeved oversized polo with a white shirt inside, and black pants, his piercings were matching, a cross hanging on the right side, he was so handsome. Your eyes had to check the fit, one that would make you fall on the floor never denied he is good-looking.
“Are you done checking me out?” He asked, gaining back your attention to his face.
“You wish,” You retorted. “Where are you going?”
“Clubbing,” He said. “By the way, Chan hyung called on your phone, call him back,”
“You used my phone without permission?” You asked, knitting your brows.
“Your phone was fucking loud, it woke me up,” He snapped. “And that annoying ringtone of yours. Anyway, I’m leaving, call me when you feel lonely,” He added with a wink and left you scoffing in response.
“What the hell was that?” You asked shaking your head before storming inside the room.
It was delicate to spend your time alone, no Minho pestering you around, the pool was good from earlier and the comfort of the novel you were reading at the moment was endearing. A dream vacation you always thought about but you knew this peace will end up pretty soon. Quiet and solemn, a night of deep thoughts. Chan engaged in a conversation and apologized throughout the call, saying he’d make it up to you when both you and Minho get back. Never mentioned anything about what he told the latter. It was good, can’t change what is going on and accepted your fate. A week with him wouldn’t be so bad, you wish.
1 am, the book was down to its last page. No book to read anymore, sucks to bring only one. You couldn’t sleep even when you were so exhausted from all that had happened. Minho was still on the rooftop, unknown what time would he want to come back. You stood up from the window seat, wanting to get a rest but speaking of the devil, he managed to get in time, drunk when he scanned the keycard on the lock. He couldn’t even stand straight and walk properly.
“Y/n~~” He cooed as you rushed towards him.
“What took you so long?” You asked, assisting him to the bed, an arm around your shoulder and your arm around his waist for support. “It’s so late,”
“Come on, it’s not every day I can go out clubbing!” He whined.
“Still, you’re wasted,” You said making him sit on the bed but his body fell on the mattress, taking off his shoes, and tossing them on the floor.
“Live a life,” He said and went unconscious. A sigh escaped your lips as you tucked him in. The smell of his perfume and alcohol made it intoxicating, it was strong but bearable enough to avoid sinful thoughts. You sat down beside him, staring at his peaceful figure and fixing the messy bangs that cover his eyes.
“I like you better when you’re sleeping, I hate it when you’re awake just to make fun of me,” You whisper as you caress his purple locks. He hums in response to your touch, it was comforting but he was unaware of it.
“Hmm, why do you hate me so much Y/n?” You stayed silent as he talk in his sleep. Something unexpected for him to say. “I like you so much that it hurts me until now…”
Eyes still on him, frozen on your seat, contemplating what to do in response. It was so out of the blue but your lips meet his forehead. A sweet gesture of feelings you hid to illuminate the hate. Minho liked you for so long, but the hating phase brought you here, confused. You wanted to wake up without the memory of this one. Heart pounding crazily, you wanted it to stop. A smile forehead kiss didn’t help you, but it was effective for him to fall into a deep slumber.
Trying to brush off the thought, your hand reached for a pillow and placed it between you and Minho. The empty side of the bed was yours as you lay down, taking half of the duvet to doze off. Everything will be forgotten in the morning, you hoped.

Rays of sunshine through the transparent window as it peeks into the small gap of the curtains and a hint of wind blows with it. You were still fast asleep and Minho shifted his position, dazed at how he ended up here. He felt the pillow beside him and saw your sleeping figure next to it facing his direction. His cold stare and knitted brows faded, you were beautiful as always as his hand wanted to reach out to touch your cheek but he had to hold himself together. Only a gentle sigh escaped from his lips, taking his time to get out of the bed carefully.
You felt his movements and heard the bathroom door open and closed. The first whole day spent with him and being stuck together is full of surprises. Grabbing your phone from the nightstand, it was past 10, how could I sleep so much? Slapping yourself back to reality, it was pretty late for breakfast, Minho was hoarding the bathroom and you got impatient. A sigh escaped your lips as you waited for him, the scene from last night suddenly appeared in your mind. It wasn't an offense, rather it was sweet–wishing Minho was sober when he said that. You shake your head with a disappointed smile on your face, it’s not the time to think about it that way. A mistake.
He left the bathroom 30 minutes later. He was all dressed up for the day but his purple locks were still wet as the water dripped down from his bangs to his forehead. A towel in his hand, trying to dry them off, you just stared at him. Contemplating on inviting him to eat, you hoped he wouldn't react dramatically. He was busy anyway.
“Say, do you want to get brunch together?” You asked, finally. He stopped drying his hair, tossed the towel over his shoulder, and grabbed his hair product.
“Did something happen to you? It’s a miracle you’d invite me to eat with you,” He said, styling his hair as you roll your eyes.
“You can say no if you don’t want to, I can manage to go alone,” You retorted which made him chuckle.
“I wasn’t going to refuse,” He said. “It’s your turn to use the bathroom,”
“Thanks,” You said quietly and stood from the bed, taking your way to the bathroom. But there he goes again, the intoxicating smell of his, but this was more fragrant than last night. You smirked at yourself closing the door behind you, it was dumb to play it cool when you literally have something going on. It was driving you nuts, the smell, his way of fashion, that handsome face of his, not to mention the book you were reading was about enemies to lovers trope. “When’s this vacation going to end?”
You and Minho ended up at the restaurant up to the 22nd floor, food on the table as you sit across from each other. It was fancy, everything was to your liking, except for the awkward atmosphere you were having with him. Silence enveloped the both of you, only the murmurs of audible conversations of the other people and the banging of utensils to the dishes were heard. You were too shy to say something, and Minho seems too busy with his food to give a shit.
“Do you have something to do today?” Minho asked not taking his eyes off the steak.
“What?” You asked back, looking at him.
“I asked if you’re going to do something today,” He repeated meeting your gaze with his cold eyes.
“Nothing, really,” You answered quietly. “And you?”
“No idea, probably go clubbing again later,” He said as you sighed in response.
“Since when did you like clubbing?” You asked again, as he drink his glass of sparkling water.
“Since the moment you said I’m not your type,” He smirked leaving you dumbfounded. “I’m done with the meal, see you around,” He added wiping his lips and taking his dishes to take off.
Another sigh escaped your lips after his figure vanished into thin air, it took you a while to leave the place to space out. He’s really unbelievable, avoiding you and being rude, a menace to have your heart pound so suddenly. You weren’t expecting to feel it, but one more confession from him will make you lose it. You thought he hated you so much the first time, you thought he just acted that way because he doesn’t like everything about you, yet it wasn’t always like that. You didn’t know, you don’t know anything.
Night fell and Minho is up to the club again as you stroll by the beach alone. You could see the dancing lights on from the hotel’s rooftop. It was beautiful, how much more when you were in it. But you dislike clubbing, getting in once made you regret it. Being drunk is not your thing, even the smell of alcohol and the suffocating crowd. Minho knows that, and you know he’s not the type to go clubbing. He lied about it, saying he wasn’t your type was done years ago. It became a blur but it was clear for him to remember.
You tried to brush off everything and walk peacefully by the shore, but the lights coming from the top of the building keeps bothering you, and the thought of Minho getting drunk again is something to be your concern. A frustrated grunt escaped your lips as you drag yourself back to the room. A black dress that falls above the knee was reserved for a fancy occasion, it has thin straps and fitting, that shows the beautiful form of your body. Black high heels and silver earrings, pink lipstick, and hair that falls naturally, it’s been a quite while since the last time you dressed up like this.
It wasn’t the best feeling, but you managed to pull it off. You loved how you look but this won’t last long, you needed to drag him out of that place or stop him from getting drunk again. The lights welcomed you when the elevator’s door opened, the loud music was banging inside your ears, walking through the crowd as you look for him. The intoxicating smell of mixed alcohol, perfume, and smoke makes you want to vomit, you hated it so much. But why do if it’s Minho, you didn’t feel anything? You made your way through a bunch of laughing and drinking groups of people. Some of them were already making out on the couch, a few were bold enough to find a private place to have sex, it wasn’t new.
“Hi, are you alone?” A stranger asked who suddenly appeared in front of you.
“What?” You asked again because of the loud music.
“I asked if you’re alone,” The stranger smirked. “Do you want to spend time with me?” It added, dragging themself closer to you.
“Fuck off! She’s with me,” Someone said wrapping their arm around your shoulder glaring at the stranger, pulling you away. It was Minho, with a glass of strong liquor in a hand. “What are you doing here?” He asked, taking it all in one gulp.
“I wanted to see your place,” You said rolling your eyes. “And how many glasses did you take already?” You asked again taking the glass off his hand and placing it back on the counter.
“Hmm, I don’t know, 8?” He laughed as he made you sit with him by the counter. “I thought you hate the club?”
“I got bored in the hotel room, and don’t worry I’m not going to stay longer if you don’t like me in here,” You retorted, ordering the same alcoholic beverage as you crossed your arms.
“I’m not complaining,” He said tossing his hands up in the air for surrender.
“Whatever floats your boat, Lee Minho,” You forced a smile before the bartender could hand your drink. The boy just scoffed, not getting that dumb smile off of his face. He was tipsy, for now, one that gives hint for you to be worried. You just didn’t want him to be alone in a place like this, you didn’t know what caused the spark.
You fell into silence as you drink while he takes everything in one gulp, “Hey, don’t drink recklessly!”
“I’m just enjoying my time, Y/n,” He said with a hic in between.
“Stop it right there,” You retorted when he took another shot. “Fuck it, Minho,” You added taking the glass off his hand, asking the bartender not to take orders from him again. He was left dumbfounded and that’s when the time someone approached him. A pretty girl who was probably the same age as you. Minho noticed them and smirked.
“Hey there,” He said wrapping his arm around their waist.
“Oh my gosh, no,” You muttered to yourself the moment you heard it. The girl was flirting with him and you could see that dumb smile on his face, not leaving it. You fell into disgust, one that sparked something inside you to move. Jealousy.
He was flirting back, rubbing his hands on their waist as they talk about something you can’t relate to. It was like a meter of distance when you walked towards him, crashing your lips on his to push the girl away. He couldn’t believe it, and neither do you. It made his heart pound, and the other one left in disgust. Minho kissed your lips back, pulling you closer to sit on his lap. That wasn’t part of the plan, you couldn’t stop either way. His lips tasted the same as the liquor, strong and sweet at the same time. An intoxicating addiction that came out of nowhere.
Your tongue collided with his as you wrap your arms around his neck, deepening the kiss. He’s definitely drunk and you were sober, but you’re acting like a drunk. His hand placed on your thigh drawing small circles that caused you to stop, and locked eyes with him. Cheeks started to turn red, a fluttering moment of blooming love confession. A subtle description of how much he loved it and you wanted more. It was stupid at first, but the taste of his lips made it different. His eyes fell on your lips, it was pink and luscious as your lipgloss tinted his own.
“I’m sorry,” You said.
“Why did you stop?” He asked eyes turning dark.
“Did I make you uncomfortable?” You asked, being embarrassed when you realized you were on his lap. “I’m getting off now,” You added and was about to stand up when he pulled you back.
“No,” He said. “You should know how much I’ve been waiting for this,”
You bit your lower lip as you kissed him again, Minho hummed in response as he pulled you closer again. His hand rested on one side of your cheek as the other one supported your back. Your fingers played with his purple locks, giving him licking kisses. He smirked in between them, a teasing bite of your lips made you whine, and heavy breaths followed as his hand started caressing your thigh again. His lips traveled down to your neck, leaving wet kisses as you throw your head back with a mewl coming out from your mouth. He didn’t want to stop, all he wanted was to do you right now. But not without your permission of course, yet, he wanted you so badly.
His lips reached on your collarbone, slowly sliding the straps of your dress off of your shoulder. You knew where is this going, intimate. “You smell so good, I want to taste you,”
“Not here,” You answered, pressing a soft kiss against his lips.
“Do you want it?” He asked playing with your hair.
“Please?” You pleaded when his stare turned even darker, full of lust as an evil smirk formed on his lips.
“Fuck,” He chuckled. “I’m going to make you feel good baby girl,”
You didn’t realize how fast everything was moving until you reached your room, with Minho locking the door behind him. His lips got impatient that they met yours the moment he pinned you up against the wall. Your hands hurried to take off his coat, lips didn’t leave each other as they molded to share torrid kisses. His hands started to squeeze your ass to pull you even closer as his lips fell back on your neck again, earning a moan from you.
“Fuck,” He hissed, biting your neck and licked the mark. You tried managed to take off your heels in a hurry as unbuckled his belt, tossing them on the sides not caring where they went. His body pressed your figure hard against the wall, fingers played with the straps of your dress until they became undone, and slipped them off to show your chest. “So beautiful,” He said before taking your nipple inside his mouth, sucking and nipping the skin.
“Shit! Ohーfuck!” You shivered under his touch. It was already driving you crazy enough to let out a sinful sound. He left your nipple wet with his saliva before turning to the other one, sucking it and twirling his tongue around. A hand slipped between your thigh feeling the wetness of your clothed core, he bit your nipple in response.
“You’re so wet for me doll,” He said as his lips brushed against yours.
“Take everything off,” You retorted, kissing him again. Minho slipped your dress off of you as it fell unattended on the floor with his pants and black shirt. He carried you all the way towards the bed, not breaking the sloppy kisses you’ve shared. You felt your back encounter the soft mattress as he hovered above you. His kisses traveled down from your lips to your jaw, back on the neck where his bite screamed red, licking the valley of your breast and leaving wet kisses on your stomach, until he reached the hem of your panties, dragging it off of your legs being welcomed by your wetness.
“Spread it for me, love,”
Your legs parted their own, unable to think straight, you just wanted to get railed by him as he took off the last piece of clothing he had before pressing the tip of his cock against your clit. Brows knitted together as you watch him driving you crazy, and you rubbed your wetness on it. He leaned closer to you, hand squeezing your boob before sliding himself inside slowly which made you let out a beautiful sinful sound that was so good in his ears. Eyes rolled back as he held both of your hands, pressing them together above your head and intertwining your fingers together. He kissed your forehead before pressing an intimate kiss on your lips before thrusting himself inside you.
It was sweet, his gestures made your heart pound, his actions driving you crazy as you tightened the grip on his hands. Minho picked up his fast pace as you moaned against his lips. Heavy breathing accompanied the sensual moment, he made sure to be gentle as ever. He didn't want to ruin the first time does it with you. You were so small below him, a moaning mess yet so beautiful to watch when you say his name when he gets faster. His member tightens your walls, sucking it deeper as he goes in and out.  You couldn't think straight anymore, he loves the sound you make, he loves the sight of you being a mess. Everything about you, he waited for so long, he wouldn't let this moment slip. Sober or not, both of you wanted it the moment you kissed him in the rooftop club.
His lips met your nipple again as he started to suck and nip the skin. Your hands finally free from his grip as the other one played with your other breast, squeezing and pinching your nipple as your finger dug deeper on his back, scratching them in response to his pace. He went faster than before and made you scream his name, his lips never left your breast, he loves them so much. Tears started to form in your eyes as you reached your high. Minho was proud, he doesn't want to stop fucking you.
“Baby, I’m close… fuck!” You whined under him.
“Shhh,” He said, pressing a soft kiss on your lips before allowing you both to release. You were breathing heavily as he buried his face in the crook of your neck, hugging him.
“Are you okay?” You asked, playing with his purple locks.
“Hmm,” He hummed in response. “Do you still hate me?”
“You made me hate you,” Minho locked eyes with you as he smiled softly, kissing your cheek.
“I’m sorry,” He said, disappointment surfacing in his eyes. “Do you want to wash up? I’m sorry I dragged you into this, I–” But he was cut off when you kissed him again.
“Don’t say it,” You said. “I’m sorry that I hated you so much before, I just didn’t know why you didn't like me the first time.”
“That was my fault, I wish I told you sooner that I–”
“You like me?” You smiled. “You were drunk when you said it,”
“Shit,” Minho laughed and went back to bury his face again on your neck. “I’m embarrassed,”
“It’s not embarrassing when I feel the same way, but I do,” You said as he looked at you again before giving a prolonged kiss on your lips. “I love you,” You inserted in between the kiss.
“I love you too, don’t hate me again okay?” He chuckled before pulling away.
“Why would I when I already told you that I love you?” You laughed in response when he just shrugged.
“Let’s wash up now, yes?” He said leaving a kiss on your forehead.
“Hmm,” You hummed as he carried you in bridal style, leading to the bathroom’s bathtub. A rose-scented bubble bath with a few candles being lit up was so relaxing. Minho went in first as you sat with your back against him. His arms wrapped around you, with his chin resting on your shoulder. “Do you want to tell the boys about this?”
“I don’t want to keep secrets just to keep you and me,” He said, kissing your bare shoulder. “We’ll tell them when we get back, okay? I want to spend the rest of the week quietly with you.”
You felt his lips on the side of your head as you looked at him with a smile, “Just the two of us for the rest of the week?”
“No one else,” He smiled before capturing your lips again.

[12:38] 🐈‍⬛: I’m doing it. I’m going to do it. I’m going to find his number and text him asking if he can show me his muscles
-
“Thank you, Ms. French; I’ll make sure that gets worked out for you. Have a good day.” Dream hung up his phone, posture immediately worsening as he screwed his eyes shut, trying to force down the headache that had been brewing since about the third question about the difference in price between the fourth and fifth editions of the biology textbook some forgettable high school in Vermont was attempting to purchase before the new school year began.
Dream was pretty good at his job, mostly because he was pretty good with the people. He thought he had a good voice, one that made him good at dealing with people over the phone because it prepped them to like him by that alone. He was a bit more awkward in person, yeah – a bit too tall, not quite sure what to do with his arms or his feet – but clients were already endeared to him enough that at that point his slight awkwardness just ended up being charming. That wasn’t the point though; the point was that he was ordinarily really good at phone sales, customer service, that sort of thing. This particular call had just been a bit exhausting. He had barely even passed his own high school biology class; he definitely did not know which text book was the better option even though he had to at least sound like he did.
Dream glanced over across the office, over to the desk up by the door. His vantage point, unfortunately, wasn’t that great these days. His boss had gotten it into his head that some change of scenery would make everyone more productive as they got deeper into the hot months of summer and, as a result, Dream had traded his desk conveniently within eyeshot of the front desk for one much farther away, and all he could see over, of all things, the fucking broken printer was a little bit of curly dark hair that drifted back and forth in a way that made it obvious that its owner was rocking back and forth in the swivel chair.
Dream wasn’t quite sure that this rearranging was having the effect on productivity his boss had desired. He reached into his pocket, and he slid out his phone.
His lock screen was covered in a long chain of texts, all coming from a contact saved simply as a familiar emoji. Dream scrolled through them, automatically smiling as his stomach buzzed with strawberries and oranges. Apparently, he was not the only person struggling to focus.
[12:47] me: get better bait. you would text foolish telling him to die before you asked to see him shirtless.
[12:47] me: besides, you’d never do that to tina
Dream went to flip his phone over, not wanting to risk someone noticing that he was off task, but immediately, his phone buzzed with a response.
[12:48] 🐈‍⬛: What are you doing?
[12:48] me: i was on the phone.
[12:49] me: lunch?
This time, he didn’t bother putting his phone down, just watched the three little dots indicating someone typing on the other side of their conversation. He realized quickly that he was holding his breath, and he forced himself to let the lingering air leave his lungs. Don’t be stupid.
When the text came, it was much shorter than the time spent typing it would have implied. Dream could imagine him going back and forth and back and forth, fingers freezing on the same anxiety that both worried and excited Dream.
[12:50] 🐈‍⬛: Yes
Dream got up from his desk, heading to the break room to get his lunch. Once the door fell shut behind him, cutting off the low buzz of the lights and computers and air conditioning of the main office with a tight thud, he went to the fridge and pulled out the container of sliced up mango and half a sandwich in a baggie. A green sticky note with a smiley face adorned both of them, identifying them as his. He was in the middle of trying to crack the seal on the lid of his drink when he heard the door swing again and quickly felt arms encircle his waist.
“You’re so, like, needy, today,” he said without turning around. “What’s wrong?” Half teasing. Half so sincere that it made both of them squirm a little bit. Dream had always been good at that – caring about people. Especially certain ones.
“Nothing.” George – the receptionist, the cute British guy in the office, the most important person in Dream’s phone – pressed his face against the back of Dream’s shirt, muffling his voice. “I’m bored. You were ignoring me.”
Dream scoffed. He set his lunch down on the counter and turned around to face George. George was looking up at him, lips pressed together like he was trying and failing to keep himself from smiling. Failing, both because George wasn’t particularly good at hiding his happiness and because Dream could read his emotions from a single movement of his rich dark eyes. “I wasn’t ignoring you. I was working. I spent, like, half an hour stuck on the phone talking about biology textbooks.”
“Wow, poor Dream,” George teased, reaching to open the fridge and find his own lunch – left over chicken nuggets, apparently, as well as a plastic bag filled with apple slices – before settling across from Dream at the table. “Forced to spend all day on the phone, while I’m dying at my desk.”
A bite of his sandwich. “Dying? Of what?”
“Boredom and neglect,” George said, sounding extremely put upon. “It’s so messed up that you’re letting your stupid job get in the way of our relationship. Just so that you can, like, have money or whatever.”
“I can’t believe you’d let Patches go hungry like that.” Dream reached over to steal a sip of George’s peach ice tea, and George just grinned at him before sighing.
“I guess that’s a good enough reason.” They were both quiet for a few seconds, ankles brushing under the table as George chewed on his apple slices and Dream picked at his mango with a plastic fork from home. It was comfortable, or at least as comfortable as lunch at a tiny breakroom table that was so short that Dream banged his knees against it every time he sat down could be.  It was, arguably, one of the least remarkable days of Dream’s life. Tomorrow, he would put back on his scratchy work clothes and the shoes that pinched his toes, make a million more phone calls to talk about textbooks he couldn’t care less about, and eat another dry sandwich in the shitty breakroom. The same mundanity that he had found, despite the big dreams that he had had growing up, to be his life these days. And, just like he eventually did today, before they threw out their trash and tried to leave the breakroom far enough apart to make it inconspicuous, George would ask if he could come over after work, and everything would feel a little bit more special.

╰┈➤ ❝ GO NATURAL! ❞
Tumblr media
: ̗̀➛ ft. pavitr prabhakar x fem! reader
: ̗̀➛ note. pav is all for you switching up styles and admiring each one of them, but is horrified at the thought of you not loving your natural hair
: ̗̀➛a/n. i only wrote this because I was having a hair crisis this morning and all black readers need a little extra loving, shout-out to all the 4c girlies we got it rough, part of me is tempted to make a part two with him actually trying to help
Tumblr media
“What about this one?”
Feet swinging in the air as you lay on your stomach with your head resting on a pillow, you pause your constant scrolling on your Pinterest feed on a specific style and turn your phone around to show it off to your boyfriend, who was rummaging through his backpack searching for a paper to finish an assignment in class that wasn’t due for weeks.
Holding your phone up for him to see, Pav gives a small hum of approval as he walks past the bed, paper in hand, eyeing the screen before leaning down to kiss your temple and falling back into his desk chair. “It’s just as amazing as the last, you’d look great with those braids! You should get them.”
Groaning, your phone falls back in front of you and you turn your attention back to mindlessly scrolling through more posts. “You basically said the same thing for all of the others!” You whine, feeling his head slightly shake as he laughs at your annoyance.
“And I meant it for every last one, Y/N,” he chirps, abandoning his work to join you in bed, laying by your side with his head resting in the palm of his hand as he propped himself up with an arm, laptop now discarded on the other side of your bed. “Your beauty matches every hairstyle you’ve shown, you’re overcomplicating it, dear. Pick the hairstyle you love the most. I’ll love it no matter what.”
Unable to ever get use to his constant affection and sappy words, you look away and bury your head into your pillow. “You’re no help, you’d encourage me to go bald if I told you I wanted to shave my head!”
“With zero hesitation, I’ll even buy you wigs for it if you want! You have a wonderful head shapes, and you wouldn’t be as hot in the summer-” “Pav!” “Sorry, I can’t help it, you pull off any and every style.”
Tilting your head up to look him in the eyes, Pav beams at you and gives you another friendly reminder of just how distracted you can become when your boyfriend smiles at you, you ought to buy sunglasses to protect yourself from the rays of sunshine. Your face goes back into your pillow in a fit of frustration, phone long forgotten and he senses your agitation, pouting at your depleted form.
“You know, angel, if picking a style is so hard you could always wear it regular?” He suggested while making a point of it to affectionately pat your bonnet where your hair would be, only to almost immediately regret it when your head shot up and you gave him a pointed look. “Natural? Pav, please.”
“I’m only trying to help, you always look great with your natural hair! Your Afros are my favorite~” he practically purred, rolling over on top of you and propping himself up on his hands, forcing you to do the same to face him as your stomach tingled with the familiar feeling of butterflies.
“As tempting as that is, not all of us are born with genetically superior hair gifted by the gods that lets us wake up and walk out of the house with looks that could put all models to shame,” you snicker, your left hand reaching up to run a hand through said gorgeous locks and your right cupping his cheek. You could see the hint of pride shining in his eyes at your indirect compliment, making a point of flipping his hair out of his face to show off, but he didn’t let it distract him from your predicament.
“But I love your hair!” He argued. “Me too! You know what I don’t love? Tired arms, a messy bathroom and hair product ending up stuck under my nails for days. Coconut oil can only get one so far, sweetheart. I don’t feel like putting in the effort right now.”
Despite your good point, Pavitr was not a quitter and was proving to live up to his reputation of being extremely dedicated, and persuasive at that. “What if I help you?”
“No way.”
“I’m really skilled with my hands!”
“Nu uh.”
“We can even match!”
“Are you insane?”
“I can even make up a style for you! I saw a video a few days ago where-”
“Absolutely not.”
What came after was a silent argument communicated through a very long staring contest between you two that surely lasted longer than a minute, but you were kidding yourself if you thought you’d be able to say no to his begging when he was looking at you with such pleading eyes and a forced frown on his face that you were certain he was doing on purpose because he knew you’d cave.
Unfortunately for you, he was right.
Sighing and letting your head fall back onto the pillow, you sighed in defeat and raised your hands as a sign of surrender. “Fine, but you have to do exactly as I say, exactly as I say, and god so help me if you screw up-”
“Yes!!!” Pav had already halfway tuned you out, cupping your face to pepper kisses all over your cheeks, forehead and nose before planting a final one on your lips and jumping up to run into the bathroom and get started. “I promise you’re going to love it!”
“-and you better not waste any of my product!”

SOMETHING MINE-Luke Hughes
Part Two
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The summer had come to an end and you and Luke were still dating and keeping it a secret. Over the summer you two talked every day since after your classes had ended you had to go back home to Virginia and Luke went back to Michigan.
It was hard being apart but it would raise too much suspicion if you went to Michigan or he went to Virginia and neither of you were ready to go public just yet.
Luke did come back in September right around the time school started back up for you. The season started in the beginning of October and Luke was getting really busy same with you with school and work but you two still made time to see each other and you would text when he was away.
———————————————————————
Tonight Luke had a game and it was a bad one. The Devils lost 3-5 against the Toronto Maple Leafs and Luke got you a ticket so you could watch him in person.
Tonight was only the seventh game of the season and Luke had played a few minutes in each game but he still hasn’t gotten a point he had a few good moves in his last one but he was still searching for his second point after getting his first in a playoff game last season.
He didn’t get it but what was worse is when he had a bad turnover in the second period that resulted in a goal against the Devils and the crowd started chanting “Nepo Baby”.
You could tell by the look on Lukes face he had heard it and what made it even worse was after the game his Coach told him he had to do media and they asked him what his thoughts were on the chants.
Luke gave a pretty solid answer “ya it sucks I know that’s not why I’m here but I can’t control what other people think or say”
After the game was over all you wanted to do was hug Luke and that’s all he wanted too but he wasn’t ready to go public and neither were you. So you both drove home separately.
———————————————————————
Luke arrived back at his apartment with his brother Jack.
“Are you ok?” Jack asks
“Ya I’m fine it’s just stupid chants” Luke says
“Ya exactly don’t let it get to your head” Jack says
“I won’t” Luke told him
“Alright Moose you wanna watch some tv?” Jack asks
“Nah I’m actually gonna go out for a bit” Luke says
“Where you gonna go? I’ll come with you” Jack says standing up
“No it’s ok Jack I really just wanna be alone for a little bit” Luke lies knowing he was going over to see you.
Jack gives his little brother a slight smile
“Be careful ok and text me when your on your way home and no drinking we do have practice tomorrow at noon” Jack says showing his protective brother side that annoys Luke.
“I will and I’m not drinking see you later” Luke says before grabbing his car keys and leaving the apartment.
He heads down to the garage and starts driving to you.
———————————————————————
Your roommates were out partying tonight so you and Luke had the apartment to yourselves at least for a few hours.
Luke knocked on your door and you opened it. He immediately wraps his arms around you and holds you close.
The two of you walk to your bedroom and lay down with Lukes head on your stomach as you run your hands through his curls.
“You did well tonight” you try to reassure him
“No I sucked” he claims
“So you had a bad game it’s ok” you tell him
“Those stupid chants” Luke murmured
“Are you ok?" You ask and Luke looks up at you
“Ok stupid question rephrase do you wanna talk about it?" You ask
“You know my family is the reason I am who I am and when when people use that against me it hurts it gets to me more then anything because I'm a Hughes but I'm Luke too I got here because of me not my last name and it feels like it will never be that I could score 100 points and I would still be a nepo baby or whatever and it's so damn stupid! Quinn and Jack don't get called these stupid things because what they're older it's ridiculous and I'm sick of it." Luke rants
“I'm so sorry Luke" You say
Luke just sighs and shakes his head
The two of you stay silent cuddling for a while longer until the two of you fall asleep.
———————————————————————
A loud beeping sound wakes the two of you up and Luke finds his phone
"Shit!" He shouts
You quickly scramble out of bed and turn on the lights
"What's wrong?" You ask
"It's 5 am" Luke says
Your eyes widen realizing your roommates might be home by now.
You look over at Luke who's scrambling to put his shoes on and gather his keys and phone.
"I have to go Jacks gonna kill me literally" Luke says
"Ya ya of course I'll walk you out" You say as you open your bedroom door
The two of you walk towards your front door and before you have a chance to open it it swings open and you see your three clearly drunk roommates walking in.
"Hey! Y/N/N ooo who's this?" Julia asks
"No no one are you guys ok?" You ask
"Fine fine just want bed and brownies do we have brownies can we make brownies?" your roommate Neya asks
"No no guys just sit down I'll get you some water in a second" you say guiding the three to the couch.
You turn your attention back to Luke who seems to have zoned out
"Luke?" You say
He shakes his head
"Ya sorry I gotta go" Luke says opening the door you follow him outside and walk him to his car before kissing him goodnight or technically good morning and head back upstairs to your apartment to tend to your drunk roommates.
———————————————————————
Luke drove home very quickly probably going a little too much over the speed limit the whole time and made it home at 5:15. He parks his car and walks up to his apartment.
He tries as quietly as possible to open the door and plans to practically sprint to his room but the bright lights already on ruin his plans.
“Dude! It’s 5 in the morning what the hell!” Jack shouts
“Ok I know I know but I’m ok everything is ok so ya” Luke says knowing it’s a stupid response but at the same time he is 20 and doesn’t feel the need to explain himself to anyone.
“Luke I was so close to calling the cops I thought something had happened where were you and why didn’t you answer my calls I called you like 10 times!”
“I-I fell asleep ok can we just leave it” Luke says making a move towards his bedroom
“Where the hell did you fall asleep?” Jack asks
Luke sighs
“Were you at a girls house?” Jack asks changing his tone from angry to curious in a single sentence
Luke doesn’t answer and shakes his head continuing to walk to his room while Jack stands there with a smile on his face realizing his baby brother just might have a girlfriend.
He changes into a pair of sweats and a t shirt before getting into bed and grabbing his phone.
He sends you text saying we might have a slight problem
Y/N-Oh god what
Luke-Jack thinks I was at a girls house
Y/N-What did you tell him
Luke-Nothing I walked away
Y/N-Dude that’s a total give away
Luke-Alright dude what are we gonna do
Y/N-Well just tell him to keep his mouth shut
Luke-Ya another problem Jack’s a total gossip by noon tomorrow I won’t be surprised if half of New Jersey knows
Y/N-Damn
Luke-Ya
Luke shuts his phone off and curls up in his blankets
Maybe he can tell Jack to keep his mouth shut.
———————————————————————
Jack in fact did not keep his mouth shut and blabbed about Lukes ‘secret girlfriend’ to the whole team. The guys chirped him for it and a lot of them were curious as to who she was but Luke refused to tell anyone anything. Jack threatened to tell Quinn. Even though he was the first person he told but Luke didn’t know that. Then Jack said he would tell their parents and Luke still refused trying to hold on to as much privacy as he could. Eventually Jack gave up and respected Lukes decision for the time being at least.
A/N hope you enjoyed feel free to send in requests or comments or just to talk I’d love to talk with you guys! I may make another part let me know what you guys would like to see!

Sweet Pea- Grease Is The Word
Hopelessly Devoted To You
Tumblr media
My heart has been broken since prom night, that night I cried myself to sleep. All I want to do is get over Sweet Pea and move on, but the truth is I can’t. I spent last night with Betty, Kevin and Veronica who told me to just forget him. I can’t sit around and just wait for him to come running back to me. I’m hopelessly devoted to him.
Toni, Cheryl, Kevin, Betty, Veronica and I are all sat at a table in the lunch hall. They’re all gossiping about prom and how amazing it was. Sighing I play with the good on my plate
“YN? Are you ok?” Kevin asks
“Let’s see shall we. Sweet Pea’s told his friends that we’ve had sex, when we didn’t, and every so you just don’t do that right? Then he takes Josie to prom”
“Ignore Reggie. He’s a class A asshole. He probably made up the rumour” Betty says giving me a small smile. I return the smile, but quickly frown when I see Sweet Pea walking into the cafeteria with Fangs
“What the hell is Sweet Pea wearing?” I ask with eyes wide open looking at Sweet Pea wearing a basketball uniform. Toni turns around to look then face me again.
“Tried out for the basketball team”
“Why?”
“To impress you” Veronica nudges me
“Said he wants to make up for prom” Toni continues
“Well he can tell me that himself” I cross my arms over my chest and look away as he and Fangs walk over to our table
“Err hey YN” Sweet Pea says scratching the back of his neck. I don’t reply to him “look I’m sorry about prom. I want to make it up to you. Let me take you out tonight, to the drive in” I’m about to say no but Kevin butts in
“Shell be ready for 7”
“Cool” with that Sweet Pea and Fangs leave
“What the hell Kevin” I push him
“You were going to say no then would end up mopping about. Just go and I’m sure he will make it up to you”
“Hmm” i hum in reply.
That evening I sit next to Sweet Pea in Fangs’ truck eating popcorn. He pretends to do the fake yawn harm on the shoulder move I give him a quick glance before going back to the movie
“Do you want to get a little closer?”
“I’m good” I reply
“At least smile. I thought we’d forget all about the whole prom thing. I said I was sorry”
“I know you did, it’s just that summer was a lot easier because it was just us two”
“I know, wait your not talking to someone else are ya?”
“No why?”
“No reason” I frown looking at Sweet Pea who’s trying to act unbothered “I wanted to know if you’d take my ring?”
“Wait seriously?”
“That’s if you want it” I nod my head in response. Sweet Pea takes my hand in his and places he’s pinkie ring on my thumb since it’s way to big “I really am sorry” he leans in and places a kiss on my lips, but his hand moves up my thigh. I pull away “what’s the matter?”
“I just don’t feel comfortable doing that here”
“What did you think coming to the drive in meant. Look around YN everyone’s doing it”
“Just because you’ve given me your ring doesn’t mean I’m immediately going to jump your bones” I jump out of the truck and leave.

CHERRY BLOSSOMS AND AMBER WOOD
genre. fluff. warnings. kissing. reader and dawon are married. pairing. husband!dawon x wife!reader. wc. 1.1k. a/n. surprise i also write for sf9 (no one is surprised atp i start writing for new groups every day skdjks) also i think i discovered that shampoo is like the best smelling thing in the world so... yeah 👍 that was the whole idea of this fic ksjdks
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Come back, you smell good!” Your husband whined, already wrapped up in the sheets. You laughed, shaking your head at his clinginess. He really was like a child at times.
“I’m just going to brush my teeth, babe. It’ll only take two minutes.” You called back to him, already in the bathroom. He pouted at your response and fell back onto the pillows. 2 minutes felt like a long time, especially when he had just gotten back from a long business trip. It was late now, and all Sanghyuk wanted to do was cuddle under the covers with you as soon as possible.
There were many little things that had made him fall in love with you. It wasn’t entirely your looks (though, you were the most gorgeous woman to ever exist to him), or your personality, but the little things that made you, you. The habits and tendencies and constants— those were what Sanghyuk adored about you. The never changing mannerisms that he had grown all too fond of over the years.
It was how you liked to organise things on the shelf by size, not colour; or how you put your hair up and dressed in sweats when it was cleaning day (he would always think you looked the most attractive on cleaning days). It was the fruit smoothies that you would make for him without a recipe, yet they always ended up tasting better than what you could get in the store, and the way you were so attentive to him at all times, not just caring for his health, but remembering all the things he had said in the past. He commented on your necklace once, saying it was pretty? You’d be wearing it for the next date. He offhandedly said he wanted to try pottery? You had already scheduled a class to go to together.
And, especially, it was the way you smiled at him when you were tired. Your eyes looked so sleepy, but so content. Whenever you were wrapped up in his arms, he felt like he could die perfectly happy just like that. As long as you were right beside him, cuddling into his chest, mumbling about your day in a soft voice amongst smiles, he was the happiest man on Earth.
There was one more thing— possibly Sanghyuk’s favourite thing. Your hair. Not just how pretty it was, but how good it smelled. He always thought that the hair products you used must have some magical scents infused into them, because once you were out of the shower, Sanghyuk could never bring himself to separate from you.
Your hair was so soft and smelled so sweet and clean and feminine— a scent that he could soak up every second of the day and never get tired of it. It was intoxicating, almost dizzying, and it made Sanghyuk feel euphoric that he could call you his. Like the prettiest cherry blossoms on a Spring day, or the sweetest fruit in the Summer sun, you were perfect in every sense.
You came back from the bathroom, teeth brushed and pyjamas on— ready to tuck yourself under the covers with him until the morning came. Sanghyuk opened his arms immediately, eager for you to be back where you belonged. You hugged yourself to his chest, relaxing at the feeling of his arms squeezing you with the perfect pressure, placing gentle kisses to your head.
“I’m serious, you smell so good.” He said again, this time in a whisper, nose happily buried between strands of your hair.
“You do, too.” You commented. While you smelled like flowers, Sanghyuk’s cologne lingered on his clothes from the morning, hitting your nose with hints of leather and amber wood.
“Never gonna get tired of you.” He mumbled, pulling you closer to his body. His hand snuck down to reach yours and he slowly laced his fingers with yours.
“I hope not, cause you already gave me a ring.” You smiled, and Sanghyuk laughed— the sound resonated in the room, making your heart do somersaults in your chest.
“It was the best thing I ever did.” He admitted, fingers fiddling with your engagement ring. It had already been 2 years since he had given it to you, yet he still thought about the moment daily.
You turned around in his arms, smiling as his eyes met yours. You raked up one of your hands to his cheek and he leaned into your touch, his eyes fluttering closed. You both let out simultaneous sighs— of tiredness and contentment and love.
“I love you so much.” You smiled at him, murmuring out the words as you adored his sleepy face squished against the pillow.
“I do too, lovely.” He responded drowsily, but no less sincere in his words than if he had been more awake.
“How much?” You asked, half joking and half curious to actually know how he’d respond. He let out a breath and then opened his eyes, wanting to be able to look at you as he responded. His eyes gazed over your face as he searched for the right words.
“...I love you more than I ever knew was possible for someone to love someone else. It feels like my heart is going to explode whenever I look at you because I still can’t believe that you’re mine.” He started explaining seriously, but he broke halfway through, his lips curving up into a smile as he admired you. “You’re the best thing that ever happened to me.”
You giggled, “You’re so cute.”
He pouted, “I was being serious.”
“I know.” You smiled, pressing a quick kiss to his cheek. “Just wanted to tease.”
“You missed a spot.” He whispered, pointing to his other cheek. You smiled and leaned in to press another kiss to his skin, feeling his cheek lift up under your lips as he smiled.
“There. All good?”
He shook his head, “Missed one more spot.”
You laughed and leaned in once again, this time joining your lips with his. He sighed as he kissed you, pulling you closer into his arms and cupping the back of your head with his hand. You kissed him until you exhausted yourself and fell back onto the pillow, breathing unevenly to try to catch your breath. Kissing him was still as exhilarating 4 years later as when you shared your first ever kiss with him.
Sanghyuk pulled you back into his arms, breathing as roughly as you. You rested your head on his chest, hearing his racing heart in sync with yours. You got comfortable under the covers. He stroked your hair, lulling you into a sleepier state, as he mumbled sweet nothings to you. You didn’t have much energy to respond verbally, already too drowsy to think of anything more than your husband and sleep. But you tapped his chest 3 times before you finally fell asleep, sending a silent message to him that he wouldn’t be able to mistake.
I love you.
