Pssstt what do you think of Eloise Bridgerton?
Lots of people seem to love her and her outspokenness and I understand that the show is a very fictional very fanfiction fiction set in a very fanfiction-y Regency era and her dissatisfaction of her life as a woman is justified
But
Am I the only one who distastes her attitude? She's rude. She doesn't care about other people's feelings, not even her own mother or her sister, Daphne who yes has very different views about marriage compared to her but I think most of the time Daphne is nice towards her and all that she can spout is how she's Different and she doesn't want to marry that men had it so much better than women. It's giving very condescending energy
She's not wrong about the unfairness of women's situation but she's also a higher rank woman and it's just....*frustrated noise, I wish she's written for the show as less of a child who has just learned of the phrase 'women's right' who's made it their entire personality and more of a person who's conscious of the differences in privilege between men and women and tries to change that, emphasize in 'tries' instead of whatever she's supposed to be- whiny and rude
If she's the face of women's right movement, I'll be fine with it, but it's also very annoying
Or
Am I just weird for not liking her because she actually has some really good points? Idk
I find Eloise Bridgerton incredibly annoying and I'm not sure if the show is self-aware enough to know that they made her extremely irritating. And this also comes back to my girl sad about arranged marriage post... Caveat that it's been a while since I watched S1 & S2 of Bridgerton and I won't be watching 3 because I hated 2.
Eloise sounds and acts like an incredibly entitled university student who has never had a paying job. The stuff she says is "right" in a modern sense, or at least takes a modern perspective when it comes to women's rights, but it sounds canned given the imagined era. The big problem is that as far as I remember, Eloise only cares about women, mostly herself, and not about class. Her discovery during her investigation that servants don't have the time to publish a paper could have led to her realizing something, but it didn't. She whines about her "plight" but doesn't seem to have any real compassion for frankly anyone. It's an entirely selfish one woman campaign.
The fact is, Eloise comes from a very rich family and her siblings are very kind, she doesn't have to marry. If she is like any Jane Austen heroine, it's Emma. Austen made Emma sympathetic by showing an Emma who doesn't whine at all, but suffers from the weight of her duty and limited options. Jane Fairfax was the one who very occasionally complained about her lot in life, and her future was bleak. Being a governess sucked and was usually a dead-end job that required a ton of work.
Eloise could have been great. They could have put the words of real women's rights activists from her time period in her mouth, like Mary Wollstonecraft. They could have even borrowed from Jane Austen, who has many women beg to be regarded as "rational creatures" who know their own hearts. Instead, she feels like a hollow shell of empty rhetoric, a petulant child with no compassion for anyone but herself, and a mouthpiece of hackneyed modern sentiments.
So yeah I'm with you.

Slashers with y/n that just gets along with everything
Like slasher could litteraly kill somone near y/n and she would be like alr alr whats really important is that you are happy🤠😎. Im sorry that first 2character had super long headcanons while last ones have way less :( I had no ideas Request open!
Billy Lenz
He always expects some sort of negative response when he calls people and when he heard new voice on the Phone he got even more exited cuz new person new reaction! He totally didnt expect her to just go "yeah yeah sure buddy, anyways... how is your day man? Cuz im so so tired...*starts normal converstation*
He probably tries to stay in character but he is so caught of Guard he doesnt know how to react really (hehe the table has turn)
Now he kinda hopes that she will pick up cuz shes very intresting😈 billy likey
"Ew its this creep again! He is asking for you y/n? Of please dont tell me you befriended him??" "So what? He said hes favourite fruit is strawberry he cant be that bad!" *billy saying slurs on the phone*
You need to constantly tell him that, no Billy no harrasing women isnt sexy, you arent quirky, you are mentally ill
"Y/n i killed that bitch that was gossiping about you 🧍 " "👍good for you billy im glad you found healthy way to cope with that negative emotion😇" "on god"
His whole moral compass is created around the simple question 'does it hurt y/n?' .1:no it doesnt so feel free to do it .2 do not do it, she will ban Billy from sweets (bad ending)
The man from hush
This guy. This dude. This Little gremlin. He is upset that he gets no reaction! Like please oh please act all angy when he 'acidently' shot tire in her car! But oh no ofc no, she had to be like "oh its okay honey i have backup in garage🥰" hes like HHUH SINCE WHEN WE HAVE GARAGE
Like tbh thats how i imagine how they met: he saw her, he wanted to hunt her, she was so chill that she didnt even leave her household while the power was off and he went inside and just saw her having lil nap on couch. 🧍🤨erm exuse me gurl im trying to roleplay epic hunter here tf
He probably kidnaped her cuz she was too weird to just kill her but he didnt want to risk her calling police. He probably tied her up and yeeted her on backseats. And then she begun judging music on the radio"yo big guy can i get some good music taste?" "What? Whats wrong with Taylor Swift?"
He will overshare everything to kinda check where is her limit if it comes to being chill "yeah so i killed this old lady.." "im sure you had good reason🥰" "🤨... anyways... yeah so i was drinking some redbull when some guy said i look ugly so i shoot his head off and-" "HEY HEY hold up geez you CANT drink Energy drinks?? Bestie you know it is unhealthy?? Also you like hunt for sport it will ruin your condition!? How you gonna shoot people with shakey hands?? You crazy or something?" "Damn😔"
Micheal myers
I tried to put him here but i realised he will be as chill as her.
Like he can give her gifts covered in blood and she' just going to clean it and wear it like nothing happened or completley ignore it
He cares about this stuff as much as y/n so like not at all. I mean tbh theres is a bit of difrence: shes at least positive about it! Like "yeah micheal go for it, love🥰😇 i know its hard to cope with trauma take it all out alr?" Shes trying to be a good supporting gf not her fault she never had serial killer bf!
Brahms Heelshire
He lives for attention! What do you mean the war crime he commited this lunch break is okay!?!? Baby pleasee
But this negativity disapears the moment he realised he can get a lot of positive attention when he will do some nice stuff! "Oh honey I didnt kill any rats today" "oh that's amazing brahms I'm sure you and the rats inside walls will get along well soon🥰" (rats in walls bully brahms)
Please complement him or he will get a tantrum and destroy something
Brahms and rats have very hard past i might do seperate hc about that
Ghostface
"Look babe! My newest victim *shows photo*" "ugh baby...😰 you NEED to buy new camera or watch some youtube tutorials about how to take good photos" "aw man whats wrong with my pictures 😔"
Otherwise y/n supports his hobbies! People need to grow😇 (and he needs to grow up)
If theres 2ghostfaces(like in most movies) they will bet money on how long you gonna keep this 'do whatever as long as youre happy' act. Well they didnt know that this wasnt an act but her personality
Also they will probably try to use this chillnes aginst her like "oooh y/n something terrible happened! I crushed my car oh what will i do!" "Alr bestie i will drive you over there😇" "😈omg you are so nice i totally didnt expect that(heheh i dont need to pay for gas today (hes very evil))

Dance of the Damned (Little surprise)
Tumblr media
I'm still working on the second chapter. But below, I bring you some information about how the character of death, _____, works in my Hazbin Hotel fanfic. I hope you enjoy it.
Powers:
Soul Harvesting: The primary ability of Death is to collect the souls of the deceased and guide them to their final destination, whether it be Heaven or Hell.
Invisibility and Ubiquity: She can move almost invisible between the living, being noticeable in the sight of people who are close to dying or only as a warning.
Universal Knowledge: She has complete knowledge of the life of every living being and the ability to see past and future events related to death.
Manipulation of Life Energy: She can manipulate life energy, either to strengthen or weaken living beings or even to grant a second chance to those seeking redemption (something that you will eventually see in the story).
General Operation:
Universal Balance: Death works in harmony with cosmic forces to maintain a balance between life and death in the universe.
Guidance and Counseling: In addition to harvesting souls, Death can act as a counselor for those crossing the threshold, offering guidance or assessing their actions in life. She does that mostly with animals.
Post Mortem Judgment: Death can conduct judgments to determine the final fate of souls, based on their actions and choices in life. (At least in this fanfic)
Interaction with Other Supernatural Beings (Obviously): She can interact with other supernatural entities, such as angels, demons, and even God, to maintain stability in the world of the occult.
Limitations:
Higher Decisions: Although she has power over death, there may be limitations imposed by higher forces, such as God. She can only act when a being is about to die or when it has already died. In very rare cases, God gives her the authority to kill someone who is in good health.
Cosmic Laws: Death must adhere to certain cosmic laws or rules governing the process of life and death, preventing her from abusing her powers.
Inability to Change the Past: Despite her knowledge, Death may be unable to change past events or alter the natural course of time.
Emotions and Compassion: Despite her nature, Death might be affected by emotions and have compassion for certain individuals, complicating their work.
Negotiations with Powerful Beings: Some souls might be protected or negotiated for by powerful beings, limiting Death's ability to make final decisions in certain cases.
Here's a drawing of how I imagine her, naturally, you can imagine here as you like.
Tumblr media
I was inspired by a drawing I had made a long time ago personifying death. I'm way too lazy to draw her more Hazbin Hotel-ish.

Padme is a character that’s difficult to talk about narrative intentions with, because she’s so underwritten in so many ways and written to serve Anakin’s narrative arc (she’s not alone in this, I would say it’s fair to point out that Obi-Wan gets this as well) that she’s there to be the person Anakin is filling himself up with after the loss of his mother.  She’s there to be the person he can’t let go of, the person he becomes attached to, because her presence soothes him. As much as I might disagree with it, I do think the narrative intention is that Anakin is still a good person at this point (or at least capable of being a good person), that Padme is there to show him compassion and help him step back away from the dark side.  These were his first steps into the dark side, he wants to become more powerful than any other Jedi to stop death from happening, and Padme is there to show that he is still capable of letting those things go, even if we know he ultimately won’t. For Padme, the way he lashes out shows a vulnerability that pulls on her heartstrings, like when he tries to provoke her by saying he killed the women and children as well, he’s crying at the same time, we the audience can see it as a red flag, but Padme’s heart is twisting itself around for him. There’s theorizing that goes around every so often of the, “Padme Amidala is a freak, okay, she wanted to dive face first into the hot mess that was Anakin Skywalker” type and I see a lot of truth in that, I think part of her absolutely thrilled at all that hot mess being beamed in her direction, that she loved the whirlwind romance of it, that she cherishes her duty to her people that she swore to help, but that she can’t help being swept up by the romantic idealism of Anakin, who blows right past all common sense and leads with his hurricane of emotions. This meta about Padme being super into the sweeping epic romance of it all is another part of her character:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This scene ends with her giving in, with her leaning into the kiss, because she’s so moved by him setting his lightsaber in her hand, telling her that this is his life. Or there’s this banger meta by @gil-estel about how Padme is drawn to Anakin because, to her mind, wants Padme for her.  That he doesn’t want anything of her politics or her role as a former queen or senator, that he’s her chance to have this relationship that’s just hers.  I can see a lot of that in her character, too! Or this other banger meta by @antianakin that’s about her connecting with Anakin’s anger, that it’s when she sees all that anger in him that her last barriers against him are destroyed, because she felt that.  That, when she tells him, “To be angry is to be human.” is because she’s familiar with that kind of anger. And I think I can really see that. Even when that rage turns on her later in TCW and she no longer feels safe around him, she does go back to him, she does reject the idea that Anakin would kill Jedi younglings (crossing the line of what’s understandable, even if it’s wrong), she's even willing to overlook it once she can't deny it, and say she still wants to run away with him. It's not until he refuses to meet her even a little bit in the middle that she finally realizes who he's become, the destination all that rage was heading towards. It's something I can sympathize with for her, so many of us feel so much rage at the horrific things that happen in the world, it's not hard for me to imagine Padme falling for someone who grabs hold of that rage, that kind of rage she feels but has to keep setting aside because her duty demands it of her, because she knows that she wouldn't actually accomplish what she wants with that rage, and put it together with the Padme we see. Look at Padme in The Phantom Menace.
Tumblr media
It’s not hard to read helpless anger in her character, at being unable to help while her people are dying.  It’s not hard to read into her that some part of her would wish she could just take a blaster and shoot all the Trade Federation members dead for what they’re doing to her planet. They’re her people, she loves them and wants to protect them, of course she’s angry at what’s happened to them. Or when Onoconda Farr is murdered, Padme immediately leaps into investigating it because she doesn't like or trust the police, Tan Divo doesn't take her as seriously as she wants, she takes all that anger she has inside her and does something about it. She investigates who might want him dead, she grabs a gun and goes to the docks, despite that she's a senator, not a police officer.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She is so angry about what happened to her friend that she doesn't care about the rule of law, she doesn't care that she could be jeopardizing the case, she doesn't care that she's stomping over people's rights--her friend was murdered and she's furious about it. Uncle Ono was her dear friend, she loved him, of course she’s so angry at what happened to him. It's not an anger that always rears its head, Padme has more self-control than that, but sometimes it explodes out of her, and I think that's part of what attracts her to Anakin, he's someone who has all the same anger that she does, he doesn't care about rules when he's furious about something, and even if that means stepping on some people or hurting people or killing people along the way, she understands that kind of feeling. This is the person who comforts Anakin on Tatooine with the words, “To be angry is to be human.”
Tumblr media
Someone who has compassion in her heart, but also intimately knows what it’s like to have that same anger that Anakin has. Padme doesn’t have to be consigned to just one reason for showing Anakin compassion on Tatooine.  It can be a multitude of things, that she’s underwritten and just there to further Anakin’s story, that she’s a kind-hearted person who sees the good and the pain in Anakin, that she doesn’t consider the Tuskens to be human-equivalent, that she’s falling for him because she’s a freak who’s into this hot mess, that she’s attracted to the epic romance of it all, that she viscerally understands what it’s like to be that fucking angry, that you want to murder someone for the people they killed. I like a combination of all of the above, because even if I can’t speak to what Lucas intended with her--if he even intended anything with her--I love Padme’s character and all the complex things that are going on with her.

Phantom Ramble
I think one of the reasons I'm personally so resistant to viewing Erik and Christine's relationship as a romantic one is due to the fact that for most of the book I don't fully trust Erik as a character and I can't imagine Christine does either. Erik has a pattern of creating himself, whether it's the phantom of the opera, the angel of music, or even "Erik" we never really find out who he is. He says he wants to be loved for himself but he never is himself. He keeps himself hidden out of fear of rejection. Not just on a physical level but on an emotional one as well.
The name he gives Christine "Erik" is a name he came upon "By accident" and I've seen some people mention that in earlier versions of the story, like the original newspaper in which it was serialized, Christine stated that Erik picked that name because it's Scandinavian and he was hoping to use it to get closer to her, which is definitely a thing he would do and if not for the fact that the Daroga also knew him as Erik in Persia I would agree that's the most likely explanation.
I've always felt strongly that Erik cannot be taken at his word. He strikes me as the type to say anything he has to say to get what he wants and he has grown so accustomed to wearing masks that he is unable to take them off. Even when he's physically unmasked he still can't bring himself to reveal who he really is. Perhaps because he doesn't really know anymore, he has become his masks. His deformity made it necessary to hide from the world and every angel, phantom, friend, teacher or father figure he became feels like had to be meticulously created so he could slip on the role and play the part convincingly enough to fool those around him. This includes Christine. I think he was hoping that Christine would be the one who could see past the performances and I don't think she's able to for the majority of the book. Even when she's fascinated by him or feels pity she never comes across as someone who really KNOWS him. That's not her fault he has, intentionally and unintentionally, made himself unknowable.
Even the Daroga doesn't really know Erik, he has more insight than most people but Erik is as much a mystery to him as to anyone else.
Erik's world is the theater and he is a perpetual actor in his own narrative. It's instinct for him to simply become whatever he needs to be to frighten people away or draw them closer and I don't think he knows how to stop doing that anymore. He's so distant from himself that views his real self as dead, the real him is nothing but a corpse.
I think that's also what makes the ending, the final unmasking so poignant to me because that's the moment when Erik, the living person, not the character, is seen for the first time. It's the mask coming off for real at last.
"I tore off my mask so as not to lose one of her tears… and she did not run away!…and she did not die!… She remained alive, weeping over me, weeping with me. We cried together! I have tasted all the happiness the world can offer"
What Christine offers him in this moment isn't what I interpret as romantic love it's acceptance, it's compassion, it's seeing him and understanding him. She gives him this when he least deserves it and I feel like this is what makes Erik's redemption meaningful. That his humanity is acknowledge in his darkest moment by the person he's hurt the most. That he is shown that much grace and kindness and that he lets her go without getting the romantic fulfillment he was trying to coerce from her will always be infinitely more touching to me than seeing them in a successful romantic relationship.
I think I also just get tired of seeing romantic love touted as some be-all-end-all redemptive healing force and the thing that could "fix" this character and give him a happy ending.
Again, not saying people can't or shouldn't write their fluffy comfortable or their dark twisted Eristine fics, by all means, have fun and enjoy what you do, but I feel like there's very little appreciation for the redemptive arc in the book that isn't viewed through a romantic lens.

whatever. i keep thinking about dt17 LP and drake.
launchpad has been all over the world and made tons of friends and connections, but can’t seem to connect with anyone on a more meaningful level. i think it’s safe to say watching darkwing duck was his only constant in the time he spent traveling and he looked up to the character as a guiding light amongst all the uncertainty. iirc he was kicked out at a young age by his parents [in the classic shows at least] and honestly at this point that is cemented as part of his character for me. the majority of my LP hcs are total speculation bc we don’t have much to go off of but. i think the people who mattered to him most probably told him to get his head out of the clouds or get out of the house and the next thing he knows he’s up in them for good. isolation is launchpad’s nightmare.
drake’s autistic ass got bullied big time as a kid and darkwing imprinted on him heavily because he identified with the character and latched onto the idea that he would stand up against injustice and prevail because that’s the only option he has. he couldn’t even consider staying down after being beaten so many times, it just doesn’t register as a possibility for him. he would just get back up. he doesn’t strike me as the kind of guy who had much support at all growing up, but he still chooses kindness. you can’t separate drake from his natural inclination towards compassion. and yet ….. ! he absolutely FEEDS off attention. he’s starving for it. he just needs someone to notice him and look at him and listen to him or he will wither. he needs love and validation and respect or he becomes a shell. been there, buddy
do you think when he got the role as DW in the movie he even thought of it as a job at all. i think drake didn’t have to act. i think drake knows the character so well and embodies all he stands for to such an extreme that playing darkwing was like breathing. it’s not hard for me to imagine that drake had moments where the line between him and the character faded, and he would stand at the top of some high tower in the lonely shoes of his hero and look down at all the broken teeth and singed feathers waiting for him and it would not be this profound or unfamiliar thing. i think drake recognizes himself better in the mask.
or you know, maybe he’s a totally normal well adjusted person with no self image issues whatsoever, but somehow i doubt it.
launchpad, meanwhile. hewboy. what if your worth is inseparable from the services you provide for others? what if you give everything you have every chance you get and never ask for anything back? what if the pain and the loneliness that follows the headfirst run into the emotional divide feels more like home than any one place ever did. what if every night you watched a cartoon about a flawed and flamboyant hero who protects a whole city and never takes his mask off for anyone - except maybe a very close friend - because this silly and attractive man can provide the ultimate service on an extreme scale and still be deeply flawed and still be loved.
i think LP naturally needs to follow someone. he’s not a leader, and he doesn’t want to be one. he takes charge when he’s needed, he’s dependable and kind, he cares so much it hurts. but i think following a lead makes him feel secure. he needs to see everyone else rise into their best selves and become self sufficient and content in their lives, but he doesn’t know how to do any of that without someone to build up in turn. launchpad needs validation, especially from the ones he admires, but he’s so programmed to give that he doesn’t know how to ask for anything. i’m guessing half the time he doesn’t even know that he needs help.
launchpad has put himself apart from everyone else, not on a pedestal, but down in the well that never runs dry. he’s forgotten that being happy to help isn’t the same as never needing it.
when him and drake met i think something amazing happened. i think there were a lot of emotions but the strongest had to be relief. drake let launchpad praise and encourage him and launchpad had someone to support and take care of, with the same hyperfixation, no less. two people who had made themselves unreachable suddenly couldn’t separate from each other, and they both know what it’s like to need to look out for everyone else. i think letting their guard down with each other came naturally and vulnerability put itself on the table. they’re both experiencing an easy and strong connection for the first time and it’s beautiful!
i hope these characterizations aren’t too far off, but i wouldn’t be surprised if it seems askew. it’s very difficult for me to keep my thoughts in order but i hope it’s coherent enough. this post is long enough already so i’m going to end it before i talk myself out of sharing it lawl

I know that you have already talked about the "female gaze" more than once, but what do you say about this?
Let's get the easier parts out of the way:
1 - The showrunners consider Aang the angel on Katara's shoulder on The Southern Raiders because Avatar is a kids show and the moral of the episode was "Hey, kids, even if you ever meet a truly horrible person don't immediately respond with violence, it could backfire horribly or push you to do something you'd regret later" not because they think she's an object that Aang gets to posses and control - hence them having Aang give her advice on what to do, but not try to prevent her from leaving nor judging her for not forgiving her mother's killer.
2 - Katara's point was NOT central to Zuko in that episode, at least not at first. By the end of the episode he understood and felt compassion for her and her family, but at the start he was only looking for a cheat-code to make Katara stop hating him because it reminded him of his screw ups. It was Zuko being entitled and trying to avoid consequences.
3 - "This thing is like the PLATONIC version of a thing that sometimes happens in romance" If it's platonic (you said it, not me) then it's not a "win" for your OTP. Zuko and Iroh's falling out after Ba Sing Se has lots of dramatic, super intense and heartbreaking moments, just like romances do - but their storyline is obviously not a romance and they are explicitly treated by the narrative as father and son.
4 - "Katara isn't hiding any side of her personality from Zuko" Katara doesn't hide any side of her personality for ANYONE - family, friends, rivals, enemies, strangers. Highlighing that she is herself with Zuko is pointless because she is herself with everyone, including people she does not like, which was the category Zuko fit into at the moment.
Now, onto yet another absurdly long take by this annoyed feminist that has had enough to the "Male Gaze VS Female Gaze" bullshit.
(Check this previous post before reading the rant in case you don't know these terms or what they mean/were supposed to mean)
Zutarians gotta learn that just because a trope is popular, that doesn't mean it is present in every story, and that NO TROPE appeals to a whole group of people, no matter how much they keep insisting that their ship is the "female gaze" - like that thing could ever even exist.
To give a practical exemple so people understand what I mean: Imagine that a woman wrote screenplay about a lesbian romance, which is then filmed by a female director, and edited by a woman. The actresses playing the lead roles also have their own perspective on the story and characters. The movie is then shown to 200 women, every single one of them has their own opinion on it.
Which of the women I mentioned above is going to speak FOR HER ENTIRE GENDER, and decide if that romance fits "the female gaze"? Do we take a survey and whatever points are repeated the most are taken as objectively correct due to being how the majority feels, and thus any differing opinion is treated as lesser and "not what women like" regardless of how many women feel that way? Do we only listen to the proffessional criticts in that audience of women and completely disregard the opinion of any woman that didn't study anything regarding cinema and writting?
Even if somehow it is decided that the movie fits into the "female gaze" - if all those women rewatch the movie years later and some of them feel differently about it, would that affect the definition? If their grand-daughters watch it 50 years later and don't agree with their grandmother's takes on it, does the definition change? If the movie is shown to other groups of women, from different countries, and they all have their own opinion on it that is radically different from that of the first group, which group of women gets to say "OUR culture's way of interpreting this story is the TRUE way women feel about it, everyone else doesn't count"?
If the movie is then shown to 200 men and they all like it, does that turn it from "female gaze" to "unisex gaze"? Does it become "Male Gaze" if the guys get aroused by it, even if the movie was designed to appeal to women and not to them AND there was no exploitation involved? If the 200 women then watch a movie that has scenes that are considered as having been made to appeal to guys, but some or all of them ALSO enjoy it (story of my life), does that make it change from "male gaze" to "Female Gaze"?
Gender is simply ONE out of many, many, many things that can impact how one views fiction - and it doesn't exist in isolation, being affected by generation, culture, language, religion, class, etc. The "Female Gaze" doesn't exist. It CAN'T exist because humans are more complicated than that. It is a concept that is almost fully divorced from reality.
Also I can't help but notice that, because of the way these terms work in the assumption of absolutes, no room for nuance, "MALE Gaze" is meant to describe lazy writting/film-making that is sexist towards women and cases of full on exploitation and abuse in which men were the abusers, and sometimes the label even gets attached to harmless things as a form of bad faith criticism just because guys like it - but "FEMALE Gaze" is NOT about lazy writting/film-making that is sexist towards men (say stories that full on say that a guy hitting a woman is bad, but a woman hitting a man is funny, or using "guys always want it" as justification for scenes of female characters forcing themselves on the male characters).
Instead, Female Gaze is meant to either neutral or POSITIVE. "This appeals to women" is used for praise, "this appeals to men" is used as criticism. Women are harmless, men are dangerous. Women are helpless victims, men are evil abusers. Women need to be protected and put on pedestal, men need to be hated and feared. Female desire is inherently pure, male desire is inherently objectifying. And, of course, any woman that disagrees is bad and a traitor and needs to be "called out for being anti-feminist" (aka be condescended to or full on attacked).
This is sexism, pure and simple. Anyone can be a victim, anyone can be an abuser. Anyone can like any kind of story, trope, genre, ship, etc. Desire is a morally neutral thing, and it doesn't become "pure" or "inherently corrupt" depending on the gender of the person who feels it.
The "Male Gaze VS Female Gaze" thing is nonsensical at best and perpetuates a dangerous double standard at worse, and I'm so fucking tired of it never being questioned because people are afraid of being labelled misogynistic.

Character analysis: the gargoyles as a reflection of Quasimodo
[This is based on the interpretation that the gargoyles are Quasimodo’s imaginary friends, and that their traits can give us some insight into Quasimodo and his own mind and personality]
Part 1 - Victor
Victor is the first of the gargoyles and the most sensitive of the three. Right from the beginning, he shows an awareness for Quasimodo’s feelings, immediately noticing that his attitude is despondent. He alerts Hugo to this too, and they both discuss what might be troubling their friend.
Tumblr media
In our first real introduction to Quasimodo, we see him taking care of a baby bird and encouraging it to fly. Right away, we get a sense of his gentleness and how receptive he is to the needs of others. Quasi has a wonderful capacity for compassion, and I think that Victor’s sensitivity and emotional alertness is a reflection of this part of Quasimodo. Quasimodo is so inherently selfless that he takes care of others with no expectation of reciprocity—he genuinely just wants to help.
There’s something especially heartbreaking about the gentle and caring way that Quasimodo treats the bird, when he himself has never known that kind of love. Like, he’s giving to others what he wishes he had. This is further emphasized when Laverne echoes his own words to the baby bird, “No one wants to stay cooped up here forever.”
I also believe that Victor is representative of Quasimodo’s strong desire to know more about other people, their lives, their traditions, and their culture. When encouraging Quasimodo to go the Feast of Fools, he suggests “you could learn to identify various regional cheeses!” and “study indigenous folk music.” He places emphasis on the learning value of joining the festival, saying, “It would be a veritable potpourri of educational experience.” (side note: I love the pope pun here haha, combined with the little wooden figure)
Tumblr media
In “A Guy Like You,” he has strong ties to cultural icons like the statue of David (at least, I think that’s what the animators are parodying here) and he wears a bow tie as he plays the grand piano by candlelight as Laverne sings.
Interpreting Victor as an imaginary friend, reflecting the traits of Quasimodo’s mind, it feels natural that Quasi also appreciates art and music. He loves human expression. He wants to connect with other people and understand how their minds work, how they explore their feelings and beliefs through their creations.
(also, on the part with the statue, I want to point out Victor timidly peeking after he covers the statue’s member. In some ways, I feel like this is a parallel of Quasimodo’s own bashful nature)
Tumblr media
(also, in “A Guy Like You,” when Hugo says “You’ve got a look, that’s all your own, kid,” he does a picture-frame gesture towards Quasimodo with his hands/hooves, and Quasimodo draws back slightly and raises up his own hand in a gentle protest, again showing his shyness and reluctance to draw attention to himself)
Tumblr media
Anyway, back to the point about appreciating art and culture—we see Quasimodo expressing his own artistry, creativity, and self-expression through his wooden figurines. Constructing these figures and imagining himself among the people really demonstrates his potential for empathy and his desire for connection. With his figurines, he lives vicariously through this miniature model of the city, desperately seeking out that kind of companionship and longing to join the Parisians.
In “Out There,” he wistfully sings, “All my life I memorize their faces / Knowing them as they will never know me” and he expresses a powerful desire to connect with them. He is deeply interested in their lives, their interests, and their personalities, saying how he is “Hungry for the histories they show me” and taking a curious, compassionate interest in them.
Tumblr media
Quasimodo has a wonderful capacity for creation. When he shows Esmeralda around the bell tower, she marvels at the decoration and asks, “Did you make all these things yourself?” and Quasi softly replies, “Most of them.” He’s very humble in his response, and he hides behind a pillar as he says this line, again not wanting to draw attention to himself. Even around Esmeralda, the person who, at this point, has shown him the most kindness out of anyone, he feels really self-conscious and he is reluctant to step out into view.
Part of it might be his crush on Esmeralda and the ensuing nervousness, but I definitely think that he is also acting this way because of how Frollo raised him, constantly repeating the idea that he is a “monster” and really damaging his self-esteem. He only runs out from behind the pillar in a flustered panic when Esmeralda pulls the cover off of his unfinished wooden figures. But as he gets more comfortable around her, he introduces her to the bells and leads the way.
He cares deeply for Esmeralda—his feelings for her are compassionate and pure. This makes it all the more stressful for him when he fears she might be in danger, especially while seeing Paris burn and not knowing her whereabouts.
As the gargoyles look out, Victor frets, “I’m beginning to fear the worst” and he tries his best to be “stone-faced” when Quasimodo walks in, not wanting to upset him any further. He’s also the first to crack under pressure and and burst into a very emotional, tearful display when Quasimodo asks, “Is there any sign of her?”
Tumblr media
Although Quasimodo is not crying in this scene, I feel like Victor is a representation of his most extreme inner feelings at the moment—catastrophizing the situation and harboring fears for Esmeralda. He genuinely just cares about her that much, and he knows that he would be devastated if anything bad happened to her.
Quasimodo shows himself to be a deeply emotional person, and cries the most out of any character in the film—crying with joy when he is crowned the King of Fools, crying with sorrow and humiliation when the crowd tortures him, crying with heartbreak when he sees Esmeralda and Phoebus kiss, and crying with grief when he believes that Esmeralda is dead. He feels with his entire heart, loving fiercely and experiencing the world with very powerful emotions. And I think that’s a really beautiful quality about him. His sensitivity is part of what makes him so strong. And his empathy for other people is the emotional core of “Out There,” his desire to live among society and know them, to find community.
Seeking companionship and love, he makes up the gargoyles as imaginary friends in his mind. By extension, he imbues them with some of his own personality traits. Victor as an imaginary friend reflects Quasimodo’s sensitivity, artistry, shyness, empathy, and emotional nature :)

Hellooooo :) I wanted to make a request for Obey Me! but I am unsure if you would be willing to write for the idea that I have. I saw on your rules that you are somewhat okay with morbid themes and idk if you would consider this morbid and I completely understand if you arent comfortable with this.
But how would the brothers react to an MC who has killed another human before? Either in self defense or in defense of a sibling/friend... like they completely snapped and lost control when it happened and didnt realize what they were doing until it was over.
Desc.: MC has killed in self defense. How will the brothers react to a human with blood on their hands? Warnings for descriptions of violence.
Word count: 1.1k
Genre: Fluff mostly. Headcanons
Character(s): All 7 demon brothers. Brief mention of Diavolo. A/N: I haven't played the game in a while. If there's any new stuff that came out and I'm unaware of it, I apologize in advance. Also I'm terribly sorry for putting off my inbox for so long.
Frankly, most of the brothers aren’t bothered, regardless of if it was self defense or not. After all, demons aren’t very known for having a strong moral compass.
Lucifer is likely the most concerned. He wants Lord Diavolo’s plans to play out just as he envisioned them, and making peace with both the celestial realm and mortal plane is difficult if everyone is aware that the exchange student is a killer. He tells you to keep it down low. “I will not tolerate any rumors circulating. If anybody goes digging to find out, notify me, and I will deal with them swiftly.” He would be lying if he said he wasn’t curious, but giving off the impression that he’s curious about your mortal life would be unprofessional and humiliating. And after all, he has everything on your profile, so why would he need to ask? He doesn’t offer protection; he simply assumes you’re aware that you’re safe under his watch. If something else happens, he’s there within no time. Fuming, so much so that you’re afraid he might create another Satan.                 Mammon thinks you’re badass. I mean, within the thousands of years all the brothers have lived, it’s natural that all of them have led to the demise of at least one other person. But humans? It’s rare you find a human who has directly ended the life of another, with their own two hands. He can’t help himself but ask. One of those days where he can’t find it in him to leave you alone. “So… what’d you use? A knife? Yer hands? Not that I care, or anything… I just want to know! I should be the first to know. I’m your first, after all.” Sits his happy ass on your bed and kicks his feet back and forth like the bbg he is.                 Leviathan is only human. Well… only demon. He’s allowed to be curious, and by God, he is. He can’t help but compare you to every goddamn anime and manga and video game under the sun. He makes assumptions, rather than asking, primarily because you can’t get a word in edgewise from all his theories. “Y-You killed them with a phone cord, right? Or wait— a knife; so, you can get that perfect camera pan from the body to the blood shining off you…” He’s close to having a nosebleed right there, imagining the cinematics. Honestly, he’d be a good play or movie director if he had some more flexibility. Luckily, though, he doesn’t think you’re a normie. What kind of normie kills another person? Exactly.                 Satan, like Leviathan, has a lot of theories and questions. The self-proclaimed detective of the House of Lamentation has many questions… even if it already was a solved-and-shut case. “What did you use? Was that hatred festering in your body for a while? No, not at all, it couldn’t have… you said it was in self-defense. Perhaps, a crime of passion when you got them under you? Crime is a strong word, however… a homicide of passion. It sounds like something out of a book, to be frank. It couldn’t have been those feeble excuses for self-defense, like pepper spray, or those tasers you humans have… no, it had to have been lethal.” To be honest, he starts talking to himself rather than you. “I’ve figured it out! You were getting mugged, a dim alleyway, later than your normal route as you had to stay longer for work… It was a lone thug, an inexperienced criminal… they threatened you with one of those airsoft guns with the orange tips pried off. After all, such a newbie would be far too afraid to take another human life. Of course, you only knew that after they were dead… you pepper-sprayed them, and in a bout of fright and the frantic urge to survive, you beat them to death with a nearby brick!”
“… Sure, Satan. Right on the money.” You reply, thumb and forefinger squeezing the bridge of your nose.                 Asmodeus is under the impression you’re some big bad brute. You know, he has a thing for dangerous people like you… to be fair, he has a thing for just about any type of person, but let him flirt, alright. He’s more than content to listen to your story while he paints your nails or does whatever the hell he wants with your hair. He reacts in an animated manner, truly enthralled. “Oh really?” “Awe, I bet that was gross!” “You took care of yourself after, right? That skin of yours?” He scolds you for not taking care of yourself if you fell into a depression after the incident. “You neglected yourself that much? Shame, shame!” Of course, it’s all lighthearted. If you’re up for it, a bottle of demonus and/or a bottle of human wine? He loves gossip and wine, two of his favorite things aside from beauty and expensive skincare and makeup. And sex. And strip clubs, and partying- okay, he has a lot of favorite things.
Beelzebub is a family man, no doubt about it. You get scary dog privileges just from being around him. A hulking beast of a man, who just wants you to share a nice meal with him. He doesn’t care to probe or ask questions, but he’ll certainly lend an ear if you want to talk. The only thing is that he stares directly into your face as you talk, hand absentmindedly reaching around into a bag of chips or a bowl of snacks. He offers them to you, “snacks always make me feel better, here.” He vows to make sure nobody tries to harm you, and does he sure fucking live up to that promise. Nobody tries to poke fun, much less harm you, when he’s around. And if they do something while he’s around the corner? Oh boy, he’ll toss them around like a bag of potatoes.
Belphegor asks you to talk him to sleep oftentimes. Not that your voice is boring, just that he finds it calming. He slowly dozes off and you take the chance to get out some of the emotions haunting you, some of the images in your head of the lifeless body of your attacker laying on the floor, or the red and blue flashing lights. You start talking to him. Retelling the story, trying to fill in some of the details that have eluded you, things you looked over in your panic when it had first happened. Something that is so soothing to him, your voice, manages to draw him out of his slumber. He keeps his eyes closed, but his brain awake He doesn’t mean to pretend to be asleep, he doesn’t care if you know he’s awake or not, he’s just too tired to face the light. “… humans disgust me.” He remarks, drawing you out of your retelling. “…not you. Not you, of course. The person that attacked you, they disgust me. I hope their soul rots and grows maggot infested.” He scowls quietly.

Tips to fight depression
Disclaimer: These are small things that have helped me in the past when I was going through a lot. Thankfully, I am fully healed and love my life. But I know how incredibly hard this battle is - and I also know that it can get better! <3 If you are struggling with mental illnesses please contact a doctor. If you want to talk to someone else about your feelings, please join our self help group on Discord. We’ll be happy to welcome you.
The 5-4-3-2-1-method when awfully anxious. What are five things you can see right now? Are there four things you can touch? How do they feel? Name three things you can hear. Two things you can smell. And now...one positive thought in your mind.
Cry me a river. Let it all out. Cry for as long as you need. Think about the things that make you sad. Make them heard inside your head. And cry. This will release muscle tension and make you feel more relaxed...maybe even numb.
Escape this world and find yourself again in a fictional one. Read a book or watch a show or a movie. Make yourself feel as though you’re the main character. This will create distance between you and your hectic life and problems.
Move. Right now. Get up and move. Move your body. Go for a walk. Maybe even a run. Just get some movement into the moment. Please. Put on some music and dance as if no one is watching.
Do something good for someone else. This is what I’m doing by writing this. Helping people can help YOU. If you want to do this right now, maybe join our group chats and tell your story so more people will know that they are not alone. What I LOVE to do is buying homeless people food and clothes (socks are super important).
Go take a shower and brush your teeth. It’s nothing to be ashamed of. We’ve probably all been there. Not showering for a long time happens. Not brushing your teeth happens. We survive. And that takes up all of our energy. But right now I want you to take that shower and take care of your body. Please.
Accept that you are ill. Have compassion with yourself. I’ve always felt guilty and despised myself for being depressed and anxious. People tell you “Why can’t you be like everyone else? Why can’t you do this and that?”. I just wanted to be like everyone else. Happy. At least that’s what they all seem to be, right? I hated myself for not being able to feel anything anymore, for being messy, for not showering, not being “a normal person”. People judge and look down on you. Yes, I haven’t washed my hair in two weeks. What about it?!  But all that is not my fault. I am ill. I can’t live the lives healthy people live. But hey, that’s okay. God didn’t give me mental stability but he did give me intelligence, a wonderful heart and the most amazing boyfriend.
Last but not least: Let’s get to the peak. Do it yourself. Well yes, you can imagine what I mean. It really helps, researches have found. Having umm...you know...the best part in the end...will make you feel better. And everyone does it.
You are not alone in this. There are so many people who suffer. So many people who even take their own lives. But please stay with us. Please go and see a doctor. Talk to someone. Talk to me. You are not alone.
Love, Sophia

Hey Sea, I hope you're doing all right! Because of some personal family issues I haven't caught up to many things fandom & pop culture wise until now. Style's "transformation", in terms of both personality and career choices, becoming even worse after FL was predictable in my honest opinion. I think someone that empty simply does not deserve many words to describe him so I will not even bother. I must say though there is one thing that I simply cannot not help but mention and that is the Danny
2/3 Zuko Halloween makeover. I do not think Harry needs larries anymore for a sustainable career, and if he does, he has way easier techniques and less impersonal ones to do that. This one was definitely personal towards louis. Now we don’t know what really happened between them, they're just two strangers for us, at the end of the day. However it’s very clear they meant something for each other, even if just on friendly terms.
3/3 For him to what? Taunt Louis? Or make him pay attention to him? Desperate. Pathetic. Desperate! Quite creepy. Ridiculous. And yes, hilarious too. Except that I am not laughing with Harry, I am laughing at him. It gives me pleasure that Louis seems, at least from our perspective, to not give him any attention. Is that petty? Oh well! Anyways that's all I wanted to say, stay safe everyone!
-
Hi anon!
I agree with your interpretation and general read. I think that Larries trying to make this into a romantic gesture, and Harries trying to play this off as just Harry dressing up as a popular musical theater character, really underestimate One Direction’s, and specifically Louis Tomlinson’s, effect on Harry Styles’ psychology.
I’m not going to pretend to understand it, either. But the fact is that whatever impact Louis had on Harry is profoundly lasting, and it drives him to do some absolutely insane things.
The curious thing is that Harry has been surrounded by grown men trying to shape him into a rock ‘n roll messiah for more than 12 years. They’ve isolated him, sheltered him from all sorts of criticism, enabled him to get massively wealthy and sell out stadiums, given him Vogue covers and Met galas and allowed him to share the stage with legends. They’ve given Harry the opportunity to meet the wealthy and famous and to have experiences he (and the rest of 1D) couldn’t possibly imagine when they were starting out.
They’ve isolated Harry from peers for years, made him live the life of a 40-year-old businessman before he even turned 30. His closest friends are people with contacts, connections, companies, power— middle-aged or old men. There are no organic friendships in sight.
Yet Harry remembers about Danny Zuko! And wore the Harryween cosplay out of some kind of psychological compulsion!
Usually Harry cosplays for clout, so this was different— cosplaying in lieu of actual communication. He wanted attention, and specifically, attention from Louis.
But why? Was Harry bragging about his playground, Madison Square Garden?
It’s a very Kanye-Kim-Taylor spat-for-PR thing to do. Very on brand for Hardashian Styles. But also completely, pathetically unhinged.
The other thing I’ll add is that — my personal observation only — Harry might be business savvy, but he does not know how to cultivate longterm personal relationships. It’s always about quarterly earnings reports and not trust, compassion, empathy, and really, human love. Nothing is ever done without strings attached— Harry Styles is only about strings. There aren’t any romantic relationships longer than 2 years, ones without a professional agenda.
It’s a very empty emotional life. Harry’s face looks empty. His Instagram page feels frigid, isolating, posed, lonely. Whatever this means with regards to Danny Zuko— almost turning a fun high school moment into a garish pop culture caricature— is also incredibly sad.

Do you think Light had any deep regrets, seeing what happened to his sister after the hostage situation?
Let's take a look at his actions.
He spends considerable time mentally debating killing his sister himself to avoid letting Mello get ahold of a Death Note. He doesn't go through with it, but after it he never talks about her, doesn't help their mother take care of her, and even after Mello dies there's never so much as a single throwaway line of him thinking "Serves him right for what he did to her!"
Even in the anime scene of him thinking back on what life was like before the Death Note, he only sees himself, the super smart student with a briliant future ahead. When he's seconds away from dying, he imagines L before him. His sister, and his entire family really, not being a factor in his mind at all.
Light is not completely devoid of human emotions (compassion and love very much included) and he does have some understanding of typical, current social morals - but to him, they only go so far.
He stopped himself for a second before first using the Death Note, before even knowing it truly worked, because "does that make me a murderer?" and in the manga he spends sometime without eating or sleeping because of the guilt. But he still uses it again and again, not just for his warped idea of "justice", but to do tests on inmates that, by definition, do NOT fit his his criteria of "people that evaded justice", and even just to prove, on live TV, that he could. He also made sure to hide the Death Note well because he knew that, if someone else found it, he might have to kill his own family.
He loved his father and had a genuine emotional breakdown when he died. He still tried to use his death to mask the fact that he was Kira, and even tried to get him to kill Mello. And in the finale he reveals that he is going to kill the entire task force - all of which worked with his father, were close to him for years, and watched his children grow up.
He loved L, or at least their strange mix of friendship and intelectual death match, was visibly shaken when L called him his first friend, notes with bitterness and downright sadness that L was right, things were boring and lonely now that they had split up, and is OFFENDED when Near, someone he sees as inferior, is wearing a mask of him. Didn't stop him from constantly trying to murder the guy, cruely smirking down at him during the moment of his death just to twist the knife further, gloating after it, stealing his "identity" as a final disrespect, and then trying to kill his heirs.
And yes, he loved his sister and couldn't bring himself to kill her - but that's the most she'll get out of this relationship. Not dying. Not by his hand, at least. No visits at the hospital, no comfort after a traumatic experience, not even a quiet moment of Light thinking to himself "None of this would have happened to her if I had never used the Death Note or gave it back to Ryuk."
Light has moments in which he cares about others. But the one person he consistently cares about is himself. The "glimpses of humanity" matters and give his character depth, but they don't chance the very consistent pattern that remained the same until his last breath.

What's your hot take opinion on Sxf ?
Oh boi this is probably gonna upset a lot of people and even some mutuals but. I don't think Damιanya will be canon.
And look, this comes from how I view fiction. I adore looking for Author's Intent, and that can include both positive and critical analysis. By that I mean, I like taking a work of fiction and analyse characters and scenes and gestures etc., but also, if you give me a work of fiction that is written from a bigoted point of view, I can spend hours looking into all the ways the author inserted their bias and political views into it.
That is to say, most of the time I'm not into "fixing" stuff or imagining ways a work of fiction can go according to how I would like it to go. Hence why most of the fanfic I write is mostly character and dynamic exploration rather than AUs and canon divergence that ignores canon stuff I didn't like. Not that I find it wrong to do that, everyone enjoys fiction and creates derivatives of that in their own way. But to make sense of my post here, I needed to present how I work when I consume media.
So. I am asexual, most possibly also aromantic, I can count on one hand the times I shipped a fictional couple, and I cringe every time a film or show that's not in the romance genre has the male and female lead become a couple, cause god forbid they go through an Experience™ together and keep things platonic.
Anyway, people are free to ship what they want to ship, and I'm in no way an impartial judge or the ultimate analyst, but I don't believe Anya and Damian will become a couple, even if they're aged up. Part of that comes from the fact that in well-written fiction everything happens for a reason. The reason I believe Twiyor will be canon is because it will give Twilight the experience of a real romantic relationship after having to fake those for his missions, and it can give Yor confidence in a relationship whether she's openly intimate or not.
If Anya is paired with Damian, I can see how it can help Damian have narrative development, but how will it help Anya? What is her character missing that a romantic relationship with him can provide? And if the relationship only provides development for him, then it will be unbalanced and maybe even one-sided as far as the narrative is concerned. And Anya deserves better than that. Her dynamic lies with her parents (especially when it comes to identity reveals), Bond (with her ability to see the future through him and her becoming more responsible through taking care of him), Becky (a friend that makes her feel confident to be herself and whom Anya can help open up), and whenever Endo decides to take it there at some point, the scientists who practically created her and her powers.
I'm not saying Damian will only be a hurdle and a burden to her. But honestly, she has way more dynamics and stuff going on about her for the story to force her into an "I can fix him" narrative with her bully.
And when it comes to Damian... I honestly think he has more to earn if they DON'T become a couple especially after Anya finds out about his feelings for her. Damian is growing up rich, privileged, and neglected, so he's turned into a brat and a bully who thinks is above everyone and everything. He needs (and deserves) physical affection and compassion, but he also needs to know he can grow from his toxic behavior. Fixing him of that and immediately throwing him into the relationship he craves is, frankly, an easy pass. It's not a romantic relationship, or even close friendship he needs. It's familial affection and connection. The former might help but it won't fix the issue. Again, that's very biased of me because I was bullied by kids like Damian when I was little, so the thought of me becoming interested in them after all the abuse because "they got fixed" is... unwelcome, to say the least :)
And all that's putting aside the fact that they're fucking six years old. Anya probably younger than that. But even if they're older and suitable for a romantic relationship, it's still not something that can, narratively, bring them what they need.
In my view, making Damian have a crush on her is not to lead them into a romantic relationship (at a later point because again, they're SIX) but it's to give him depth and a layered dynamic with Anya besides Anya wanting to approach him for the sake of Operation Strix. Endo made things so Anya has a lot of hurdles on her way towards that, and a spoiled bully who is fighting his own feelings for her out of spite and ends up bullying harder is only part of those hurdles.
Eventually, how I think their dynamic will go is Anya finding out about his feelings, going like "Oh that makes sense but I don't see you that way" and Damian accepting that, while he grew into a more respecting person who doesn't burst out his frustrations on innocent peers, his reward for that won't be the romantic relationship he wants, because hey, there shouldn't be a "reward" for actually becoming a decent human being :) And they stay friends who support each other.
Ending this by saying everyone is free to ship what they want to ship and that this is only my view that is influenced by my lack of interest in romantic stories and my still-prominent scars from having been a bully victim for years. I only watch the anime, but the setup I've seen in the story is enough for me to consider that this is where their dynamic will go. You might disagree and that's okay, the cool thing in fandoms is people being able to offer different points of view, but please don't reblog this just to have pointless fandom fights with me.

I only have 2 headmates and idk how to get along with them :(
For context they're both OCS (one old, I made her in 3rd grade and one is new- made very recently) and they unfortunately know that. The issue is that all of my ocs have bad things happen often and I imagine they hate me for that
They also hate each other's guts for other reasons but it just sucks not having any peace
Hmm… we know it can be really really hard to get along with other headmates sometimes! And your headmates being OCs probably really complicates the situation, huh?
We have a little note that we keep with us when we’re feeling overwhelmed and stuck in memory time:
Tumblr media
(ID in alt text!)
This really helps us when we’re starting to feel guilty for not handling our childhood trauma better, or feeling like we’re never going to be good enough because of what happened to us, or trying to bear the weight of our history on our shoulders all the time! Our therapist told us the mantra and we wrote it down to keep handy :3
This helps us deal with painful childhood memories… But! we really feel like this sort of message may help people with exotrauma or painful exomemories too! >w<
As writers and creators, it’s okay to put your characters in difficult or traumatizing situations!! It comes with the territory of being an artist!! And you shouldn’t have to put a stop to that or feel guilty about it just because your OCs developed into headmates!!
But for your headmates…. It makes sense that this stuff will bother them! It makes sense that they might have to process exotrauma because of some decisions made by their creator (you!). It’s possible to allow them space, to support them on this process, and to recognize that you may have made choices regarding their histories… but that doesn’t make you at fault even one bit!!
Exotrauma can be really tricky and also icky to navigate! We have alters with exotrauma in our system and it’s been a wild ride helping them process it while other members process real-life trauma! But being willing to help and listen, not judging your headmates for feeling certain ways about their circumstances, and understanding where their apprehension comes from could all really help you be there for them when they need it!!! Does that make sense to you? Idk if I’m using “apprehension” right lol but I mean like their wariness or cautiousness or unwillingness to put the past behind them and get to know you!
Speaking of getting to know you… maybe y’all should try conducting interviews to get to know each other!!
I made this headmate interview form a while back! it’s a fun, laidback way for headmates and alters to start learning about each other as they are now, not as they once were!!
Could y’all perhaps spend some time conducting lighthearted, low-stakes interviews to figure out what each other likes and what they are like? And once you have a good idea, you can start going out of your way to do nice things for each other!!!
If we’ve learned anything in therapy, it’s that kindness, apologies, forgiveness, and compassion can be amazing tools for coming together as a team!! Our frequent fronter group is able to work together the way we do because of this!! Like this time last year, I never would’ve dreamed I’d ever cofront with Kandi to work together on art or posts and stuff… but here we are!! And it’s all thanks to learning more about each other and daring to show each other compassion even when we didn’t want to!! :333
So in the end, we don’t know for sure what will help y’all reach a mutual understanding and stop hating each other…. But we can give you advice for what’s helped us in the past! We still have alters who hate each other (ahhhhh) but at least we’re making progress!!! And that’s what counts!! We Can Move Forward!! And we believe y’all can too!! >w<
💚 Ralsei and 🦇 Alucard (or Kandi - bats got two names and likes them used interchangeably!)

HI I LOVE YOUR FICS AND ALSO I wanted to ask what would your dream sonic movie be? I know you talked about it being unabashedly like the games (like the Mario movie) and potentially adapting sa1 BUT what kind of themes and messages would this theoretical movie have? And what might you change or modify if you’re adapting sa1. Or scenes you imagine would just be SOO cool and good to have. Personally I love early Sonics themes (topics?) around cycles of violence and abuse of power and ending them through compassion, (ex: calming Chaos or Amy’s plea to shadow) and resisting against authority,(those r what I got from those games, at least if I had to briefly summarize) so that’s what I would choose them to revolve around. Anyways hope ur day or night is going well ! 🦔
THANK YOU FOR THE ASK :0 i think about what the movies could have been all the fucking time. this will probably get long so it's under a readmore
i suppose as a disclaimer of some sort, the movies i want would adapt the games. so right off the bat im going to anex all the humans from these adaptations. so no two worlds theory and no maddie, tom, wade, whatever.
if the movies HAD to follow a similar scheme to what we got, where sonic and a human bond after getting isaeki'ed, i would either
1) have the human be maddie and get rid of tom completely. maddie has the motivation of wanting to help animals as a veternarian and her goal would be to want to move on from green hills to help more people, but pressure from people around her keeps her stagnant. sonic arriving would prove to maddie that she's capable of doing more and better, and that her opnion matters more than those around her. basically the core message of the movie would be not to let people hold you back, and to never be afraid to be yourself
2) have the human be a young child. look i know people have mixed thoughts on chris from sonic x but having a character more similar in age to sonic would make a lot more sense- the audience market would be able to connect a lot better with the human, and i think the themes of growing up and being different than what your parents want you to be could be nice. i think the main themes would be to never be afraid to stand up for what you believe in to show compassion to those around you, and to be who you're meant to be no matter what others think. HOWEVER.... the ideal scenario is that the movies adapt the games, so without further ado......
GAMES I WOULD ADAPT
okay the basic idea is that there would be five movies as like, phase one. they adapt the games people are most familiar with, in this order:
sonic 2
sonic cd
sonic 3
sa1
sa2
"hey, what about sonic 1?" to be honest there's nothing in sonic one that couldnt easily be established in conjunction to sonic 2 so i think it'd be best to just squish the two together. also, i KNOW if there was a whole movie dedicated to sonic one, there would be an insistence to give sonic some sort of backstory, which i frankly hate. he doesn't NEED a backstory- he saw an injustice, and decided to correct it. simple as that.
sonic is popular enough of a franchise that you can just jump into the story without knowing a whole lot about it. the general public is usually aware of sonic, eggman, and tails, so having the first movie focus on those three without worrying about a backstory for sonic and eggman could easily work.
i would have liked sonic cd to occur before sonic 2 but i think sonic 2 sets up a good foundation for the wackiness sonic will get into- right now we'll just introduce sonic's heroics, eggman's machines, and the power of the chaos emeralds. sonic cd can help further explore the power of the chaos emeralds, and will also set up the time travel of sonic 06
objectively you COULD cut out sonic cd and have amy's arc be implemented in sa1, considering her storyline there, but i really do think the time travel in cd is a good segway for sonic 06.
sonic 3 and sonic adventure 1 explores the lore of the chaos emerald and the echidna clan. i think it'd be fun to mention gerald robotnik in either movie, as well as the gizoids.
sa1 and sa2 would probably just be one to one adaptations because they're a complete movie all on their own, honestly. most changes would be cosmetic but the STORY would not change.
after these games, the ones i would probably adapt are
sonic heroes, sonic rush, sonic 06, sonic unleashed. going to be honest there's not REALLY good story oriented games after this other than sonic generations, and sonic frontiers. so unleashed would be my stopping point from now, although i imagine this series would span quite a few years, so by the time we'd get to a sonic frontiers adaption, the game would have been out for several, several years. anyway.
CORE THEMES...
The main five games i wanted to be adapted (Sonic 2, sonic cd, sonic 3, sonic adventure 1, and sonic adventure 2) have the most cohesive storyline together, so i would be fine if the movies stopped after those five. but anyway i like to think each story builds off of itself
sonic 2
Movie Summary: A fight with Eggman leads Sonic to crash into West Side Island. Sonic meets Tails, who fixes up his plane and offers him friendship and expresses interest in helping Sonic. Sonic, however, tries to shake him off, not interested in friends or anything that might slow him down. Tails sets out to defeat Eggman by himself to prove himself to Sonic, and they eventually learn to work together to stop Eggman from collecting all of the mythical Chaos emeralds. Sonic learns the power of friendship and takes Tails under his wing, and the two go on to chase after Eggman, who now has an interest in something called Little Planet...
Themes: the main aspect of this story is sonic learning to care about others and work with a team. sonic saves the day and plays up being a hero, but when he meets tails, he doesn't know what to do with him. sonic has compassion and wants to do him right, but just doesn't know WHAT to do. sonic working alongside someone after going after eggman alone for so long is VERY difficult for him, but tails eventually teaches him Friendship. i guess the main theme of this is being aware of how your actions affect others, and that doing things with friends is better than doing it alone.
sonic cd
Movie Summary: Sonic and Tails investigate Little Planet and meet Amy Rose, who predicted that she'd meet the love of her life on Little Planet. Sonic, Tails, and Amy investigate Eggman's wrong doings until Eggman unveils his latest invention- Metal Sonic! Metal Sonic captures Amy, and Amy offers Metal Sonic compassion and frienship, while Sonic and Tails collect the emeralds and time travel to restore the land. Eggman manages to sweep in at the last moment and steal all of the emeralds- however, Metal Sonic, who learned kindness from Amy, decides to betray Eggman and aids the heroes in getting the emeralds back. Metal Sonic is destroyed in the fight, but the day is saved; Amy stays behind while Sonic and Tails head to Angel Island so she can train and become as great as Sonic one day.
Theme: the main theme of this adaptation is compassion- amy shows compassion to metal sonic, which i think would lead to metal sonic betraying eggman to help the heroes. sonic realises that threats don't always HAVE to stay threats- that saving the day is great, but helping others on an individual level can mean the world.
okay after these two movies, the game adaptations are essentially one to one, so the summaries aren't very important
sonic 3
sonic and tails investigate angel island. the main theme here builds off of the compassion that amy teaches sonic in the previous one; that sometimes people are misguided, and when you help them from the wrong path, you just might make a really good friend. sonic befriends knuckles after their miscommunication is finally cleared up.
sonic adventure 1
the main themes of the game still stand. sonic's learned from amy and tails the power of friendship, hope, and compassion, and uses these same values to defeat perfect chaos, by offering it the same virtues amy and tails gave him, and what he gave to knuckles.
sonic adventure two
same as the original game, tbh. this adaptation changes very, very little. i suppose the other message is that even if you try your best, some people don't want to be saved, and you can't save everyone.
my idea for these games is the emphasis on friendship and the power you have together. tails teaches sonic friendship, amy teaches him compassion, and knuckles teaches him forgiveness, and he uses these tools to help him defeat perfect chaos. and individually, these characters learn bravery from sonic, which aid them in helping save the world during sa2.

🦋My Deep Look Into Things🦋
🍩Best synastry does not always mean best relationship and bad synastry does not olways mean bad relationship.
🫧🫐The whole point of 12th house is that there are more highlighted things that we can do on our own and therefore don’t need other people. We don’t need others to fulfill our desires. Because insulation suits us. We feel good when we do something on our own. You can go on a trip alone and you will feel good about it. Being alone but enjoying it. Lots of people with these placements know how to enjoy their company.
🦩🥥Aries often seems to need no one. This is because they are generally an independent character. And they themselves are acting independently. And they don't care if they look alone in a crowd or do things on their own. Aries doesn’t care what others think and also act without thinking because they like to risk things, even if they don’t work, at least they try. If I compare libra and aries. Aries will be independent most of the time in a relationship and work the way they always do when they are alone. Not that they don’t like to share with others but are used to doing them themselves. While libra like to invest in a relationship and like to share in a relationship. Because they are used to being with others and working with other people. Therefore, they will invest more in relationships than in themselves.
🧠🫀12th house is connected with you and your subconscious. Things you know and things you learn along the way. How you deal with yourself on a deeper level. And how you feel about the people around you and how you subconsciously experience them. it's about experience thing on a deeper level.
✨🌏The planets in all the other houses are connected to others and how you act when you are with them. What attitude do you have towards others and towards circumstances. Here we experience things with others and experience them consciously, only that our emotions are not always seen.
🏹🥀Only scoprio will understand how it is to love someone for an eternity.
🍄🍃Mercury retrograde it is an insight into yourself and the things you do. For ex.: having mercury retrograde in 5th house means a deeper insight into your creation, hobbies. What do you expect from dating life. And with which people do you still want to have fun with and which ones don't. What fun means to you. Where do you find your joy and what do you enjoy most.
🪸🪷Neptune symbolizes illusion, confusion, consciousness itself, psychic sensitivity, creative energy, ideals, intuition, spirituality and compassion, the domain of dreams and delusions. For ex.: Neptune in Scorpio suggests a deeply caring nature, therefore, a person can be motivated in investigative work and often shows his emotional side on air.
☔️🌶People always ask me when I roast some zodiac signs if this sign broke my heart or why I hate them. It’s not the hate. The sign does not have to to broke your heart for you to don’t like them. It is the energy u feel from people and some people fits in your life more than others. For someone scorpio is the worst sign and will never imagine being with them or sharing friendship with them. But someone will find them as the best sign it can be. Also sign in your 8th house will most of the time be prone to hate or dislike. Too intesne energy. But I still believe that the signs that fall into this house give you a deeper look at the person and the relationship with her and that is why the person gives you a feeling of love. The 7th house sign is not always the sign u love. Because it essentially expresses and shows the opposite of you. A lot of people actually fall in love with sign in their 11th house. Because it expresses a friendly relationship. Also having a lot of water signs in chart u will be more prone to people who have water / earth energy cuz will make u more secure and will understand your emotions in a better way. It all depends on what kind of energy the signs give you🫀🫧⚡️🏹
❤️‍🩹Chiron represent our healing through years. Our wounds and healing depend on how we deal with it and how much attention we pay to that. Our wounds can be deep and sometimes difficult to heal. It can take years to get to the point where we really want to deal with this. 10th house represent our early childhood and how we experienced it. What kind of relationship do we have with authority figures and fathers. Chiron here it can represent our relationship with our father. And it can have a big impact on what kind of relationship we had with him as a child. Chiron here may show resentments that may never be completely forgiven.
