watching star wars shows is so mind blowing cause I have to remember that canon!anakin actually is a piece of shit and that the way I write him is kinda ooc cause unlike some other ppl (prequels<33) I don't wipe out his trauma, and I try to think ab and portray the effects it has on him and how it influences him! like if I got trauma from the relationship I have with my parents he'll have it from a childhood spent as a slave! every chance is a perfect chance to talk shit ab the prequels and cw!! ahsoka's slaps btw

Touchy subject

"The 501st was one of the best legions during the war. I've lost a lot of good men over the years - some of them would have given even you Mandos a run for your credits. And my general... My general was a good man too, but that's enough of that, I thought you were too old for bedtime stories by now."

Din just tried to figure out what the colour of the clones' armor paint meant, and why he's never heard Rex mention his CO during all the wartime stories and lectures; whereas he's already got to meet Wolffe and his general and even heard Cody mention his every once in a blue moon. (Special thanks to @witchydom for helping with the "dialogue" :3)

I'll take a bit of your time to give a bit of an explanation why I decided to put Rex in Skelly's spot:

During a playthrough when I was looking for screenshots to use as backgrounds the first thing that greeted me was Zagreus calling Skelly "Captain" upon entering the armoury, or whatever that chamber is called. And that really decided it, let's be honest. Rex is Captain, and that is the Captain's spot. End of story.

Reading "still got it" by qigiined even before I got into watching TCW was such a personality defining experience (seriously, this fic lives forever rent free in my brain), that I really had no other option but to put the few clones that I'm willing to work into this AU somewhere around home base (the covert) - so you can guess where Cody and Wolffe are situated. Or will be, hopefully soon enough. Rex needs to be able to hang out with Cody, that's just how it is. (Rebels and TBB canon who?)

Rex deserves to teach some uppity Mando bounty hunters and other warriors who think too much of themselves a few lessons in humility and some crafty tricks. I think it would be very good for him.

As a throwaway note since we are already under the read more section, I've been thinking about sigils and keepsakes (trinkets) and cthonic companions (I know that over a year ago I inaccurately but very self indulgently designed one for Din, Boba and Cobb, that is not the point now) and while Cody can have one shaped like Boga, and Wolffe can obviously get a stuffed loth wolf (and Bo-Katan a very squishy owl)... I have no idea what shaped companion Rex could have. If anyone has any suggestions and would love to share it with me, I'd be very grateful!

Fox, talking to himself while pacing in his tiny workspace: It had come to the attention of the Marshal Commander, that in the last 47 hours there had been multiple power-outages throughout all of the barracks. Could this be an electrical issue? Or perhaps a sinister plot to send the Coruscant Guard into further disarray...? Slick, watching from the doorway and very weirded out by Fox's bizarre 3rd person narrations: What the kark... Dogma, starry-eyed as he too watches Fox from the doorway: He's so cool and mysterious... Slick, flicking him on the ear: He's a freak, just like Commander Cody.

For what it's worth, if you think attachment DOES equal love, take a look at this post.

Second edit:

Attachment is defined as possessive love. If you start the conversation by assuming that attachment = regular, healthy love, we're already on a different page.

Time and the cold had rendered the durasteel shackles around his wrists and ankles weak and brittle, and he had snapped them at some distant point in the past. Arms and legs free, he curled inward, knees drawn up to his chest. The man died. And then he lived. In which Obi-Wan and Rex may never leave this world alive.

How Highly he Thought of You

Look, I really just want to say that if this is a trial based on Yoda's deepest fears and desires, meaning one of his desires is for Obi-Wan to have known Dooku

If this is how Yoda wants things to be, he wants Dooku to still be with the Jedi and he wants Obi-Wan to know him. Yoda knows Obi-Wan would adore Dooku, he knows that if Dooku was still there, the loss of Qui-Gon might've not ruined him so much, because Dooku would be there and maybe Obi-Wan would've been okay.

Look how Obi-Wan doesn't take his eyes from Dooku, he adores him, he cannot stop smiling and he's just so invested in everything Dooku has to say. This is a child wonderstruck by old stories their Grandfather tells them. This is the Obi-Wan Yoda knows he would be if things hadn't gone how they had. He'd be happy, Yoda sees Obi-Wan's suffering and his strength and loyalty to the Jedi, he sees all that and knows Obi-Wan isn't happy, that he carries such a burden, so in Yoda's utopia there is such an emphasis on Obi-Wan's happiness because it isn't fair for Obi-Wan to suffer so much when he's never strayed from the light.

Yoda knows this, and he knows if he still had those two, Obi-Wan wouldn't suffer so.

Think of Obi-Wan's seat on the council too, we know Dooku was offered a seat and that Qui-Gon was too, then Obi-Wan and Anakin. Their entire (disaster) lineage was offered council seats, perhaps because Yoda, though Jedi cannot form attachments, offered Obi-Wan that seat because of how much it meant for Yoda to have one, one that turned out okay. And maybe Yoda looks at Obi-Wan and sees Qui-Gon, he sees Dooku, and his pain is a little less.

I saw somebody make fanart of Obi-Wan with a second padawan, it was an oc and their art was beautiful, but it got me thinking about the angst potential from Anakin’s perspective.

I mean, we all know anakin is one possessive bastard. How could Obi-Wan call someone else his padawan? That title is reserved for Anakin, right? Not anymore.

At least Anakin will always be Obi-wans favorite, right?…Until he hears Obi-Wan tell this new padawan they’re such a good listener, actually pay attention unlike his old padawan.

Let the self-doubt set in.

I mean, Obi-Wan hadn’t chosen Anakin, he was just kind of dumped on him. Obi-Wan chose this new padawan of his. How is Anakin supposed to live with that?

And if Anakin starts to distance himself from Obi-Wan, well…who else is to blame?

Obi-Bun Scene - 'Darkness on Umbara' Track: 'Hell or High Water' - The Rescues (Spotify / YouTube)

I apparently was not going to know peace until I made this, so, a little over 8 hours later, we have it, for better or worse. Started as "Wow I love this scene I am writing" and then "Oh, why not warm up with a different art style then usual?" and then... A scene from an AU where Obi-Wan is turned into a rabbit. Yes, you heard that right, and yes, it has turned into a full blown, in depth, I have six chapters roughly written already AU. And the Umbara arc is just as important in this world as any other, so it deserves some spotlight and I was just plain obsessed with this image in my mind, literally crawled its way out of my soul so I couldn't finish anything else today, which I won't say unfortunately because I actually love it.
