The Madness of Heracles
Due to Zeus' infidelity, Hera has taken it upon herself to make the demi-god Heracles as miserable as she can. After marrying King Creon's daughter Megara and starting a family, the goddess strikes Heracles with insanity, causing him to murder his wife and children.

Heracles and the Buddha
This is based on the fascinating fusion of cultures after Alexander the Great invaded India, otherwise known as Indo-Greek or Greco-Buddhism.
In Gandharan sculpture, Heracles is depicted alongside the Buddha as Vajrapani, the Buddha's protector. The pairing of two figures so iconic in their mythologies seemed perfect material for art.
The Buddha would help Heracles with anger management, while Heracles would help with clobbering evildoers. Business as usual.

Greek “heros” as a therapist.
Orpheus: don’t look back on the past for too long, you don’t wanna regret what you could have done. Keep an eye on the future.
Odyssey: it might take you a while to get where you want but if you want it, let nothing get in your way.
Achilles: remember if you love someone, keep a hold of them, you don’t want to loose them because of a mistake you’ve made.
Heracules: if someone tries to test you, show them you can beat all their tests.
Perseus: you can use a shield in life, it doesn’t make you weak.
Theseus: when your life feels like a tangled ball of yarn, there will always be someone to untangle it, so don’t loose that person. Don’t go leaving them on an island either.

I will always defend Hades in any form of media because why is he always portrayed as the villain? He is literally one of the least problematic gods in greek mythology!! I may be a child of Apollo, but Hades you are my king!!

Hades as the "Villain"
~not my typical content but.....~
Hear me out.
WHAT IF....the reason why some Greek mythology retellings *incorrectly* write Hades as villainous is because he minimizes engagement with his toxic Olympian family and ACTUALLY sets boundaries with them?!
(tags are for exposure - some of them did a great job of Hades's portrayal!)

Have you ever wondered what characters from Greek mythology would look like in a medieval AU? Wonder no more:
In the first picture are Hercules on the top left, Menelaus and Helen in the middle, Paris underneath them, and Hector and Agamemnon underneath Hercules. In the second picture are Janus, Saturn, Picus, and Faunus on the right, and Juno on the left.
(This is the Nuremberg Chronicle, a fifteenth-century German incunabulum.)

Hebe: And Hercules was like...
Hera *later to Hestia and Demeter*: I know I shouldn't feel like this but hearing Hercules name actually makes me cringe.

This is supposed to be children of Hero's who were killed by their parents, chilling in a field. Hopefully having a much peaceful afterlife compared to their lives.
Hippolytus- son of Theseus and the Amazon Hippolyte - who was killed by Poseidon as a wish from Theseus after being falsely blamed for Phaedra (Theseus's wife) suicide.
Iphigenia- daughter of Agamemnon and Clytemnestra - who was killed in a sacrifice to Artemis in order to sail to Troy.
and Medea's and Jason's sons- who were killed by Medea for revenge against Jason, and after researching were not able to find definitive names for them in the play which is tragic. But I haven't read the play so I could be wrong.
Feel free to correct me if I got any information wrong :).

Heracles - the Mightiest hero.
I made this a little while back but I still love it. My favourite hero in Greek mythology is always a good opener for a new social media.
Hello everyone!
