I’m trying to expand this project and add all kinds of new features. If you want to help, you can pledge 1$ to my patreon here, and in exchange, you’ll get access to a second project where I try to create the coziest/warmest art collection on the internet.
Have you ever thought about how loving yourself and being yourself go hand in hand. If you deny many parts of yourself, and don't feel free to act like yourself, it cannot be true that you love yourself just yet. By being yourself, you communicate to yourself that all your little quirks, preferences, even dreams, are no small thing. They are grand and lovable and important, just like you. And you deserve to seek out validation, like minded people, fun, adventure, love, attention, and passion, because you are worthy of love.
Also, likewise, being yourself truly, learning to embrace and listen to yourself, is just as challenging as learning to love yourself, isn't it?
For self love purposes I give you: Jin of BTS happily nomming away with his cute cheeks and goldfish mouth. he looks so content with himself I want to always feel that way ~^.^~
We need inherently as humans to know that we are not the only one like us. Not the only one who's lost all their hair, who sits alone all day in depression sometimes, who lost a limb, who lost their grip of what matters to them, who likes having pink hair or following kpop idols. Anything really. We are social. We see ourselves through the eyes of others so often which is why each time we see one image, one character, one person that is like us we feel more confident that we know who we are and that we can belong.
This is why representation matters. Because it defines our identities, not just for those around us, but for ourselves.
"I wish I had disPOSable income you know. Like....more of it," she muttered as she painted more rubbery eyebrow dye into perceived gaps. There was no one else present - she was talking to herself, an occurrence so common she hardly felt it worth the mention.
I just want to babble about how I’m improving my life balance
Like, I actually have healthy food in my kitchen that I cooked, lots of veggies, rice, and peanut butter. I’m actually investing in my trip abroad that’s coming up by doing my research and getting excited, I’m learning to fix my sleep schedule, and I’m finally finishing up the first YouTube video I’ve made in a long-ass time. Yeah, I’m kinda tired and I don’t ever feel like I’ve gotten everything done, but the solution is simple. Just decide to say, “I’ve done all I could today, so I’m done. Time to get ready for bed, and rest.”
I’m also realizing just how much it takes it out of me to be fatigued all the time, because I’m gradually seeing what it’s like to be more invested in myself and awake. this is so exciting.
"he traveled the world, and loved, and had children, and made friends ,and he isn't a slave to his anxieties, and I want to be like him" - Melanie Murphy talking about her father <3
