We got attacked in a discord server for systems for opening a blog aimed more towards the screwed up and icky parts of being a system (Like the more triggering, dark, horrifying stuff and having your mind twisted by the trauma and alters twisted by it too). We phrased a few things wrong and accidentally used a word we shouldn't have (We've seen it used so many times and grew up on content using the word 24/7 so it wasnt out of malicious intent, we genuinely just didn't know.) and everybody seemed to be arguing and yelling at us. We got kicked.. which sucks. We barely did anything wrong and people got mad. Of course there were somethings we DID do wrong but i feel they could of been more productive with talking to us about it and our intentions..
Sometimes i feel like the darker and more horrifying parts of being a system are urged by the community to be swept away. Even parts of it that say "trauma isnt cutesy or fun! its horrible!" seem to only want the "better" parts of it or the parts that are only now finally starting to get accept.
(Not supposed to be a vent or attack on anyone, just a tale we wanted to tell)
Yeah, that's very fair. I think that in general it's best to talk to the person if its the first time they've done something and seem genuinely remorseful. Also, in regards to the second part of your ask, we definitely agree that the ugly parts do seem to be swept under the rug. (It's part of the reason we made @demonized-infodumps. )

Uhh I was invited to a private server by a “friend” where they talked about system travel all the time. And sent alters back and forth. I witnessed them “sending alters”.
They managed to convince a little that they had system travelled into our system, even though that’s not fuckin possible. The little is fine now btw :)
I'm glad the little is fine, that's so icky and weird >:(

that one time in a rather popular syscord, the latest rule was that everyone HAS to have a working PK or they will be booted out. im new to pk so it's a lot on my plate, setting this and that for each headmate. unhappy with the rule, i dropped out of the server. pk should NOT be a requirement.
That's.. so odd?? Why would you *need* pk lmao. What about OSDD-1A systems or polyfrag systems or systems who are often blurry?? What about systems who aren't comfortable with that?? That's so very odd.

I believed this happened a couple of years ago? But I'd thought it was a very peculiar experience for me to share.
So, I used to be in this traumagenic server with what seems like a lot of blacklists and claims to be POC friendly. It was one of our few DID/OSDD focused discord servers that we joined when we first suspected we have DID. (We got diagnosed a year later.)
I remembered being in a ticket with one of the mods because they looked at the names of our alters through pk. They then LITERALLY did some google research on the name origins and made it something like this.
" Hi! We noticed your names may be considered cultural appropriating blablabla
Casey = Irish
Ari = Jewish
Please consider changing your names!"
And then had the nerve to even ask me what my race is, but I felt so uncomfortable?? I said Asian. They want me to specify further. I said Southeast Asian. And if my memory serves me right, they wanted me to specify more than that.
When I looked at that message where I had to change my own and my alter's names, I felt like they were JOKING?? HOW IS CASEY A CLOSED NAME??? It's.. a generic name used by pretty much everyone in the world.
They mentioned how Irish is a closed culture, and I think they mentioned Irish discrimination during the US immigration and all. I understand, but at the same time, Irish itself isn't a closed culture at all?? Not to mention, I've been using Casey as my name for quite some time now.
Ari being linked to Jewish makes no sense to me either. People sometimes use it to shorten the name 'Ariana' for short, but I also see many non-Jewish people also using that name too.
Ari is an alternative spelling of our body's name, so we don't feel weird using our irl body's name (which is Arabic) to the people online. It's not a sense of shame of the body's name but more privacy concerns, easier pronounciation, and having our own individuality.
It's worth mentioning that a lot of Muslim and Christian names are derived from Judaism, too. The Muslim and Christian names just have a different spelling to it, so I don't know what the hell they were thinking.
I felt so mad and felt this was all too ridiculous. I had to keep my cool and leave because what kinda server is this??? That claims to be POC safe?? I'm sorry if I don't sound the most open-minded, but it's just a weird experience to me, really. When I think of cultural appropriating, I would think of taking a name from, let's say, a Romani name or a Tamil name, and then use it without realizing the significance of that culture just because it looks pretty for some aesthetic. Not whatever tf this server was pulling.
As an Irish system, what the fuck?? Casey is definitely not a "closed culture Irish name," LMAO?? You're not overreacting DW anon, that's just wild.

So, we have an introject from a webcomic, and we were in the Discord server for the webcomic. The headmate, Fern fronted and wanted to talk in the Discord server. The author of the webcomic said that introjects, especially ones from the webcomic, were not allowed to speak in the server despite it being "system friendly." This pissed us and a few of our friends off to be honest. I understand that the author was uncomfortable but if it's a system safe space then introjects of all sources should be allowed to speak. The worst part? Some of the other members in the server were like "Where did Fern go? Where is he?" We left the server after that because Fern is extremely sensitive, especially to source and system related topics. They deleted all the conversations Fern and the other members had. Fern isn't even very attached to the universe their source, just the character, and even then their personalities are very different. I've attached some screenshots of the conversation Fern and one of the mods had.
I understand where the author was coming from but they weren't forced to interact with Fern. I also understand that this is their server and they make the rules, but it did still rub us the wrong way.

That's really odd, I don't like that at all. Alters aren't source and that person needs to realize it. There was no need for you to apologise in that situation, and you're not in the wrong at all

I got fucking mobbed for addressing transmisogyny in the system “community” as my metamour is uncomfortable with how people are weird about the way they describe headspace appearances as “transfem looking” because of stereotypical aspects. Then they traced from my side blog to my main and ragged on me for having TME in my bio lol fuck these assholes.
Wait, people say stuff like 'transfem looking'? How does one look transfem?? That's weird.

Recently we joined an age regression/littles server for our little to look for coloring book pages, everything was fine until you click on the OWNERS profile which has the words "bigdick" in their username
Like.. why are you running a sfw server that has people with the mindsets of CHILDREN if your gonna have THAT in your username?!? I left it bc it felt unsafe
That feels.. uncomfortable

We were in a server where if a user had a certain discomfort towards a media (ex: DSMP, Genshin Impact, MCYT to name a few), the staff would inform any alters whose source was one of those media that they were not allowed to talk in the server. Like at all. Not even in bot channels. I’m happy the server got nuked.
Introjects 👏 aren't 👏 source 👏
I'm so tired of syscords being like "we accept all!" and then being assholes to introjects 😭 I'm glad that server got nuked too anon

Was in server that banned all Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss talk. You know seems fine makes sense right.
they tried to ban alters too tho 😀😀
we got told our Alastor had to find a new fac claim because his was of the characters (it was a cosplay of him in which the person was only a Silhouette with where circle for eye) and when we tried to fight that it didnt even show the chatacter we got alled a zionist for "supporting Vivzie" (we aren't and we dont) and almost got banned.
They also argued that "alters can look however they wabt so they should just change how they look" and yeah they can but also some people aren't read for source sepration or are sperated BUT WANT TO LOOK LIKE THAT???
- Zomb/Re
That's so.. just. I hate the hypocrisy around "alters aren't source." Sorry y'all had to go through that dude syscord SUCKS lmao

one of our alters is technically from the dsmp but he's so far separated from his source he barely looks like the guy and doesn't use the same name anymore - hasn't in almost two years
and yet. we were still told to leave the server. because he existing at all was 'scaring people'. mind you none of them even met him, we just casually introduced him in the intro post.
(we barely mentioned his source, but we mentioned it the same way you'd introduce someone, ie 'this is max, he's from new york')
Dude what? That's fucking wild, I swear people only preach that alters aren't source when it suits them. Hypocrites.

we were a mod in a syscord, back when we were more active in those places
suddenly, the syscord got deleted
we were invited into the new one like a week before we went to a mental health hospital
we told them that we won't be able to mod
came back to us being completely kicked out for "inactivity", when we told the reasoning, they said that we should've used the half an hour on phones we had to be active in the server, instead of talking to our irl friends and our partner system
DUDE WHAT?? THAT'S WILD /neg

tw abuse kinda idk
we were told that we're crazy for telling our parents that we have DID, as if parental abuse was the only abuse that can cause DID
and they way they spoke about it, all arrogant and belittling, while one of us was venting about something else and only mentioning that our parents know
we left the server i think lol one day i went to front and it was nowhere to be seen
Wait what?? That's actually wild.

We have answered most asks on our blogs, but @demonized-infodumps and @tales-from-syscord still have some left.
We have around 20 asks scheduled across our blogs until tomorrow evening, so keep an eye out!
We will be scheduling the rest another time.

Was in a syscord where a staff member had narcissists on their DNI.. wtf!
The server boasted being cluster b friendly and many of the other staff were cluster b, but when it was brought up to that a staff member had narcissists on their DNI everyone just went "it's because of TRAUMA and it's BOUNDARIES".
They compared it to why they have ENDOS on their DNI.
?!
I bet you that if we had "systems DNI" on our boundaries it'd be a different fucking story?! Like what the fuck- I get you have trauma but you can't just generalise people like that, it's actually fucked up???

Not sure if it counts, but it's an experience of being a system in a mainly singlet server. I was the only one to use Simply Plural, but that took months and forever to get any communication about getting the bot added for me so misunderstandings could be lessened.
Constantly, people there treated the alters like 'silly personas' even the Introjects, constantly acted like the Introjects were role players, and so on. And even straight up said, "Sorry, I can't keep count of all of your personas even with the bot"
But then something happened one day whenever we sent an art creation, two to be specific, one was a banner that someone requested that included the word little, and the one for ourselves that included the word syskid, we thought this was fine to send because our caregiver alter was allowed to send agere moodboards!
No, apparently not, words are dared not to be featured because they assumed, that Littles can't defend themselves and that we must've been a NSFW little while still allowing the caregiver to share what they shared before.
Being a system in singlet spaces is stressful I'll say that.

a few years ago atp, i joined a did centric server. one of the older members was telling a younger member that using a sugar skull mask for halloween was not cultural appropriation, and when i, an OPENLY MEXICAN PERSON, told them otherwise, they told me i was "too young" to understand (i was 16). i left immediately i was so fucking mad.
We don't know much about this topic, but if someone from a culture says "hey using that is cultural appropriation"... you bloody well listen?!!
