An update about my fic writing.
So to any of you that still follow me for my fic writing please know I've decided to give up writing and posting.
The truth is that interaction here has now become so low that it really isn't worth the time and effort it takes to write, edit and post. I write for me, I post it for you guys but at the end of the day when I get absolutely no interaction other than people hitting the like button and moving on, it makes me feel bad about myself. My thoughts are always that clearly it wasn't good enough otherwise people would say they enjoyed it, or it made them feel something, or anything. I, like most writers here, pour our heart, soul and our free time into fic writing, and it's sad to scream into the void and honestly just makes me feel bad about myself. I just can't sit around feeling like I'm not good enough anymore.
I have very little free time on my hands and I love writing, it's a huge outlet for me, but posting here is just not worth the sad it brings me now.
To those of you that have outstanding requests with me I can only apologise and offer to pass your requests to some of the best fanfic authors I know who will do them justice.
My Tumblr will stay open, my master list will stay posted, I just will no longer be adding to it.
Thank you to all of you who have supported and interacted with my writing this far.

Re: The False Golden Guard … Again
Tumblr media
Is a bastard to write.
Seriously, I now know for sure when they will be unmasked… but they definitely walk away with the chapter every time they show…
(Totally want to drop another song here, but it might be spoilers)

Thanks to @abyssal-ali for the tag! This took so long to compile lol
Rules: Go to your published works on AO3 and list the first fic you ever published there, the last fic you published, any fic that you wrote for a fandom/ship only once, your favorite fic you wrote in the fandom/ship that has the most works, the fic you wish more people read, the fic you agonized over the most, the fic that sprang fully formed from your mind without any effort, and a work you are proud of—for whatever reason.
Uh oh 😅
❥ My first fic was actually a disgustingly long word doc that glitched out my computer and someone deleted 😔 just for a fun fact ✨
❥ My first fic would be Will you be my fairy tale?
𓍊𓋼𓍊 Agents of SHEILD 𓍊𓋼𓍊
❀ Daisy Johnson/Daniel Sousa
✐ Set in 7x07, beginning of 8. Daisys in the healing chamber and Daniel Sousa decided to stay there with her. Just a cute little snippet of what he was up to while he was waiting for Daisy to arise from her slumber/healing.
❥ Last fic published was Dreaming Of Anemone (though my last work published was HaiBOO but it’s an original work)
𓍊𓋼𓍊 Maribat 𓍊𓋼𓍊
❀ Bio dad au
✐ The Wayne's might have been public figures, but there's a lot of mysteries behind those grand closed doors. Mr. Wayne for one was quite suspicious. They were hiding something and Marinette would figure out what. Even if it exposed a secret or two. Identities weren't the only thing they were hiding.
Flowers can kill after all.
❥ A fic with a ship I’ve only written once is Coming Home To Peaceful Disaster
𓍊𓋼𓍊 Maribat 𓍊𓋼𓍊
❀ Luka Couffaine/Marinette Dupain-Cheng/Damian Wayne
✐ Damian is so tired, all he wants to do is come home, have a cup of his girlfriends famous hot chocolate, and fall asleep in his loves arms.
But this isn’t too bad either.
❥ My favorite fic. That’s a hard one. I think it have to be Dreaming of Anenome despite its incomplete status but since that one’s already on this list I’ll promote another: Death Bouquet
𓍊𓋼𓍊 Maribat 𓍊𓋼𓍊
❀ Cassandra Cain/Marinette Dupain-Cheng
✐ It's hard to figure out whom your heart longs for when you've spent so long ignoring it. Letting the flowers bloom in your throat as you struggle to breath always left wondering.
Marinette lived her days in Pairs, her eyes on Adrien. But...was that truly what her heart wanted? Or was it a face she hadn't seen in a long time but still haunted her thoughts like the scorch marks left after a fire.
❥ The fic I wish more people would read is Rose Gold Eyes
𓍊𓋼𓍊 Maribat 𓍊𓋼𓍊
❀ Selina Kyle/Marinette Dupain-Cheng
✐ The rooftops were often silent at night, the streets were where havoc rained.
The rooftops were often silent at night, a cat endlessly chasing darkness.
The rooftops were often silent at night, and so that’s where she lay.
The rooftops were often silent at night, so was her suffering.
❥ The fic I agonized the most over is literally any fic in my Flowers Aren’t Always A Love Language series (especially Dreaming of Anenome) because I always try to put as much flower language in as possible to put a story within the story. Otherwise it’s An Angel With Demons Wings. I wrote that to get back into writing after a tough time and put a lot of pressure to get it perfect for my wonderful friend @tylindel whom I love. I did a lot of dancing research and made art to go with it.
𓍊𓋼𓍊 Maribat 𓍊𓋼𓍊
❀ Damian Wayne/Marinette Dupain-Cheng
✐ “They call you a demon but all I’ve ever seen in you was an angel.”
“Even in my worst moments?”
“An angel with anger issues.”
❥ The easiest fic is From Your Favorite Chaos Gremlins. I was spouting ideas like a sprinkler and was really ahead of my writing partners to the point they couldn’t keep up with me. I got overexcited and wrote all but one line of the second chapter. Of course this fic has ended early despite all the ideas left over as authors split so it remains forever unfinished.
𓍊𓋼𓍊 Maribat 𓍊𓋼𓍊
❀ Platonic Marinette Dupain-Cheng & Tim Drake & Damian Wayne
✐ Family is defined as a group of people related to one another by blood or marriage.
None of them were related by blood nor marriage nor any magical force, only their own love for one another.
Family to them was each other.
And all it takes is a pinch of coffee and a whole lot of chaos.
On the streets of Gotham, the chaos gremlins reign.
❥ A work I’m proud of is Hold Me Tight Till Morning Light. Originally written for the lovely @tylindel ’s birthday, I wasn’t sure how much I liked it though but @tree-reads really helped my confidence in it with her appreciation of it and it makes me love it too. Otherwise it be Dreaming of Anenome or anything in my Flowers series because I work hard on them and I love hanahaki so much.
𓍊𓋼𓍊 Maribat 𓍊𓋼𓍊
❀ Damian Wayne/Marinette Dupain-Cheng
✐ Sometimes your demons take control of your body and mind, you never had full authority over yourself as your plagued with memories time and time again, filling your head with thoughts you'd rather rid. Sleepless nights were always in the cards. But that's why there's always your rope, your light, your love, your life, that will be there to pull you back from the darkness.
OR
3 times Damian helped Marinette with her demons and one time he didn't have to.

One of my favourite things to do to my characters- particularly ones that have killed a lot- is make them incredibly morally neutral.
More info under cut, including more violence.
For example, Slasher Sans, is so very morally neutral and basically gives no fucks. If he can justify murdering someone, then he'll kill that person. He just... doesn't care?
It's one of the reasons he works so well with the Bad Sanses- though there are times where Slasher can't find any reason to kill the people he's killing so he'll just sit back.
Dream doesn't count, though. After all, Dream is literally Slasher's target, and the only reason he continues to exist is due to his current task of murdering Dream.
Another example is a Sans I don't think I've mentioned on this, named Amity.
Amity is from a place called Amitytale, which essentially is a very violently peaceful AU. Offending a monster can get you killed if you're not careful.
Amity kills anyone he decides is justified to kill. Old, rich people that are absolute assholes to everyone? Dead. That entitled, racist Karen? Dead.
It was incredibly hard for him to adapt when he got tossed into the whole "Skelles in a house x reader" thing. He takes no shit, and has to constantly hold himself back from Fucking Shit Up.
He's a pretty chill guy, though.

I've been listening to one Taylor Swift song on repeat all morning, and evidently that's decent muse fodder, so here is another little excerpt from the upcoming new and improved fic What Makes a Family.
(No the song doesn't have anything to do with what I was writing but nevertheless it was something to bop to)
~ ~ ~
The funeral passed as painfully as any other. Rose could feel the prickle of sympathetic stares directed at her and her kids, and she willed time to move faster. Listening to the eulogies was the worst, as Jimmy’s friends and family stood at the front of the church and spoke about how wonderful Jimmy was, how deeply he’d be missed, and the hole he’d left in the lives of everyone who knew him.
But finally, it was over. The only good thing about being a supposedly grieving partner was that she could gather up her kids and escape rather rudely without people actually thinking she was rude.
“Let’s go home,” she murmured to her kids, holding David and Matthew’s hands while she guided them away from the throng of people wanting to give her their last-minute sympathies and sorries.
She threw one final, lingering glance to the closed casket that concealed the broken body of her late boyfriend, her gaze flicking to the photograph of the blond man and the crooked smile that’d had her falling head over heels at sixteen.
Goodbye. I hope you’ve found peace, wherever you are.
Rose didn’t know what exactly she believed regarding an afterlife, but she hoped there was something. A realm of tranquility where the best of everyone shone through and there was no hurt or anger or resentment. Yeah, that sounded quite nice.
As she moved to turn fully away from the casket, her eyes landed on a middle aged woman who was sobbing uncontrollably into the chest of a middle aged man. Jimmy’s parents, whom she hadn’t seen or spoken to since that night in the hospital after Jimmy’s accident, when his mother had screamed and raged at her, hurling insults at her that had hit their mark and still stung, even days later.
She quickly looked away, not wanting to draw their attention, and continued ushering her boys out of the church.
~ ~ ~
This first chapter is the bottleneck of being able to start reposting the story, but I'm finally making some decent headway with it. Everything else should be fairly quick and easy to revise, since the bones of the chapters are already there. They just need new meat and sinew.

5 Things You Never Get Tired of Writing
Thank you for the tag, @crescencestudio ^_^
1. Banter/word play - Probably one of my favourite things to write. It's just fun and engaging and I love having those epiphanies of the perfect retort or one liner. A lot of banter actually gets added in during revision though. Usually when I'm drafting, the dialogue is pretty bland, but as I'm re-reading, the possibilities for humour open up and I add a lot of it while editing.
2. Lore/World building - I tend to spend a lot of time thinking about the how and why of things in my stories and it comes out as world building. Funnily enough, I really enjoy reading stories with softer world building and I don't think that, by any means, does a story have to cover the ins and outs of society and the world (and, actually, stories can sometimes become burdened by too much lore). But I just personally like writing it, even if I enjoy reading all levels of world building from Tolkien-style deep lore to Miyazaki style soft world building.
3. Bad Endings - Honestly, I just find it fun imagining player reactions. LoL. I hate angst as a player/reader but I'm a little bit of a gremlin at heart and have fun thinking of ways to make my readers cry. 🤣🤣 Changeling had a lot of opportunity for bad endings and those were so fun to come up with. Gilded Shadows has far fewer because it felt like there weren't as many interesting ways for the things to go badly. But I still find the bad endings really fun to set up.
4.  Obscure references/Easter eggs - This can be anything from character names to little drops of lore referencing other things. There are always a ton of literary and mythology/folklore references in my stories. Some of these are obvious, such as Fianchetto being a chess strategy or Magnus' code name being Merlin. And sometimes they're more obscure - such as Cestrescir being an Alice in Wonderland reference. I sometimes like throwing in references to the games and stories of my friends too. I just think it's fun to toss things like that in.
5. Romance in general - I think human courtship is so silly and wonderful. I really like exploring it as a story element and find interpersonal relationship really fun to write about in general. I think friendships and platonic relationships are fun too, but they don't have some of the quirky attributes of romantic relationships that I find fun to explore and poke fun at. That's why I can't see myself writing stories that don't have romance as one of the core pillars.
If anyone else is interested...

I've been working on another Cliff fanfiction. I really wanna write more often but I feel really slow in doing so 🤔😭
Actually, I feel slow at everything. 🥺
Do you ever feel like there aren't enough hours in the day? I sure do.
But anyway, the fic is about Cliff walking in on the reader with their binky- leading to kind of an awkward situation. (Psst, he's very kind about it 💗) A pretty cliché agere plot, but that's okay. 😅👍
I have a few ideas in place, actually.

Got james wolfe on the brain today. Also started rewriting the first time they kiss and fuck. And I do want to start writing some of the stuff for him and Sam.
Annnnnnd I started reworking the major part where Lilith turns out to be a sleeper agent and tries to kill sam. And reworked some of the other stuff that takes place in 2022. Need to try and get all that rewritten and edited and posted so we can get some up to date stuff going with deimos and james (who joins Rainbow in April 2023). And I do have an idea for explosion and Harry's death that'll be super angst.
And of course the deimos possibly being lils dad plottwist. But I'm still uncertain about that since we still don't know much about deimos (like his age). So idk if imma make that canon yet or not.

don’t write a book. write a fanfiction.
explain yourself, you say.
first of all writing a fanfiction feels a lot less daunting than a book. there are already characters and names and places and plots and all these things are known by the audience. they require no explanation.
there’s no length requirement for a fic; it could be two paragraphs or a several thousand words. all acceptable.
fanfiction is built for the small moments, moments that I find lost in many books and series. the little, special moments. fanfic writers don’t skimp on quiet moments that make our hearts hurt because it’s so goddamn fluffy and sweet.
fanfiction is for writing about Dean and Sam in the laundromat, washing their gore-covered clothes.
It’s about Dean humming Metallica as he stuffs the sopping wet clothes into the drier, absentmindedly wondering if he can convince Sam to at least trim his bangs, while said younger brother is perched on top of the washing machine, a game of Rummy scattered in front of him on the dusty white surface, cards tucked between his fingers as he stares at his brother and wonders how Dean managed to end up in his hoodie.
fanfiction is characters over plot, their thoughts, their mindset, what makes them tick. what keeps them up at night. fanfic is about the person. the plot can wait.

Thank you @a-crows-corner for tagging me. I'm still new to social media and tag games so bear with me lol

I write: daily | most days | a few times a week | a few times a month | random
I write most often: when I first get up | later in the morning | afternoon | evening | the wee hours of the night | whenever
In one sitting, I tend to write: a few sentences at a time | a few hundred words | a few thousand words | a complete chapter/ section no matter how long | an outline | whatever comes
I tend to write scenes: in chronological order with no skipping | mostly in order but with some filler/skipping | whatever scene I feel like | who knows what’s gonna come out
The things that come easiest to me are: dialogue | description of senses | description of action | description of characters | exposition | other
I tend to write: on a phone | on a laptop | in a notebook | on whatever paper I can find | with speech to text | in the blood of my enemies | it doesn’t really matter to me | on paper first and then typed up | old school typewriter | on a computer
When I take a break from writing, it usually lasts: a few days | a few weeks | a few months | it’s kind of random
My favourite thing to do when I’m on a writing break is: recharge with other creative hobbies | read/consume other media | do something physical | catch up with old friends | work on my WIP in other ways like with playlists or art | other
In general, I think my writing habits are: pretty much what I need them to be | okay, but I’m working on making them better | non-existent | not great | I’m excited to develop them further | totally random | perfect for me

💞what's the most important part of a story for you? the plot, the characters, the worldbuilding, the technical stuff (grammar etc), the figurative language
The most important part of a story for me is probably details. I just love details and descriptions.
I feel like they can add another depth to your piece. For example, symbolism is something I lay great importance to. It adds a story behind the story. Like in my hanahaki, the flowers always have a meaning behind it that relates to the situation or relates to their feelings or even creates it’s own story unsaid.
And it can replicate a scene so you can hopefully see it in your mind and place your readers there so they know what you’re going for. When I write describing scenes, I typically work background to foreground.
Example:
Tumblr media
The day was somewhat dull, the horizon splattered with a hazy mountain view and puffy clouds of gray. The sun rose, letting its rays blanket the right sides of the mountains. It was still early so the water was quiet, gentle ripples gliding over the water, centering from a single tree rising from the great lake, bent like a graceful swan head. The sunrise has its leaves glowing golden like a thousand dabloons. Near the tree was a splatter of rocks and pebbles, the only other thing atop the surface of the water. No one touched natures beauty, it was just the tranquility of silence.
And describing outfits. It can be such a challenge to get everything you need from that but sometimes for the scene the outfit is important and you have to describe it. I suggest going from top to bottom, a little trick I learnt from a friend.
Example:
Scene: School uniform; Private school; Female
Tumblr media
Her brunette hair was tied into a twisted low bun, two curly strands of hair framed her pale complexion. She wore nothing more then some mascara and brazen caramel lipstick. Her outfit consisted of a white, loose, long sleeve collared button down with a two golden button waistcoat on top. A name tag was situated on the left side of her chest, last name proudly presented and a tie tucked beneath the waistcoat. A plaid skirt, differing shades of blue including navy and cornflower with white lines crossing through. To complete the look, she wore navy blue fashion boots with a golden latch. Her school supplies tucked into a laptop bag that matched her uniform.
It may not necessarily be necessary, but it’s fun. There is a point where there is too much detail though and I try not to cross that line. Too much detail can make it boring. I know I personally have skipped paragraphs because there was just a bombardment of detail that bored me to death.
You have to know where to draw the line and when it’s important to add descriptions. If it’s important to the story, lay more importance to it. If it’s not, skim over it.
For example, if your character is in a hotel room, you don’t need to describe every little thing about it from the crimson curtains to the tiny ruffle in the sheet. Skim over it if it’s not important to the story. Place more importance to the things that will come later in the story like the spot on the wall that’s a slightly different shade then the rest of the wall as if only that spot was repainted, later to find out there was something hidden in the walls. Or perhaps the hole in the ceiling and later on there’s scurrying you hear every night. A rat falls out of it and you assume that’s all it was and request to change rooms, planning to leave the next day but then you have to go back to pick up something you left in the room and there’s something bigger that’s definitely not a rat coming from the hole.
I got a bit carried away in answering this and it may be far more then you were anticipating, but to sum it up: Details and descriptions ✨
Thank you for your ask!
