Happy Love Day!!
It’s a little late and I debated creating a post last minute, but today turned out to be a really good one. Which I needed after the ridiculous, emotional weekend I had. After pumping myself up to write all week, I encountered some writers block and was undecisive about which direction to take, how to rework chapters, and how to come up with a beginning. Over emotional and frustrated is an…

Originally published in the Avatar Review, Issue 21 (an online publication that is now defunct), this next installment of Behind the Poems is a love letter to my hometown. Writer's Block
I don't believe in "writer's block." here are a few of my reasons and suggestions for when you think you suffer from it.
My prescription for writer’s block is to face the fact that there is no such thing. It’s an invented condition, a literary version of the judicial “abuse excuse.” Writing well is difficult, but one can always write something. And then, with a lot of work, make it better. It’s a question of having enough will and ambition, not of hoping to evade this mysterious hysteria people are always talking…

A conversation with a journaling coach
Recently I had a web-based conversation with a journaling coach. I was able to ask questions about journaling and learn more about the art. This is that conversation. What is journaling? Has it been around long? Journaling is the act of regularly writing down your thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a notebook or other form of writing. It’s a practice that has been used for centuries as a…

Pen to Pixel: Using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to Write a Book - Chapter 3
Chapter 3 has become another nightmare of using Artificial Intelligence to generate a novel! Can I piece a story together from the content produced by AI? Let's see... #writingwithai #amwriting #aiwriting #chatgpt
Here we go again! Let’s write Chapter 3 of Synthetic Sweetheart together, with the help of AI. To recap: Chapter 1 was a mess. Chapter 2 was better because I was more specific with giving AI prompts. So…let’s see how Chapter 3 goes as the story of EVE and David gets more complicated. First, the outline I had of chapter 3 was a little generic, so I’m asking the AI to add more details. My…
