On the 1st episode of books I've read🌚
This book is about how a young Canadian Muslim woman finds that sticking to one’s principles is not for the faint of heart, especially when you’re juggling two jobs—and a brewing romance.
You know how we all say,it's hard putting career, culture, religion, family, business, relationships and love together...Anony-ana proved us wrong. You just have to be strong willed and things will fall in place.

🌟 BOOK REVIEW🌟 🌟 💫 2016- It Ends with Us- A book which starts off as a Colleen Hoover Book but shook me by the time I ended it. Agreed it was a book which was close to the author’s personal experiences, but as a fan, I could see her unearth another dimension in her writing- stunning. While Ryle’s dark side shook me up, what did feel like a missed opportunity was giving Atlas and Lily the closure they deserved. 2022- the author doesn’t disappoint. It Starts with Us, though still brings forth the trauma of an abusive relationship, gives the protagonist the ammunition and strength to handle it- this book is about hope, about friendship and giving closure to Atlas and Lily. Without giving too much away, Lily has finally moved on from Ryle though the constant fear of her daughter’s custody and her ex’s abusive nature plays on her mind. Enter Atlas and they decide to rekindle their romance. Atlas too has to confront the demons of his past in the form of his abusive mother- though the realisation of a brother and his efforts to protect him from the same mental abuse is handled delicately. Each character has it’s moment- be it Alyssa- supporting Lily despite being Ryle’s sister- or Marshall- sharing Alyssa’s past while consoling Lily and during the intervention during the closing moments - or even Theo, Atlas’s young support system. The book does have its flaws but where the author succeeds is giving us two extremely strong protagonists- while Atlas is possibly the most perfect male character the author has written, Lily battling her fear to confront Ryle to give her daughter a future without fear or abuse, stands out. Definitely recommended for fans of Colleen Hoover #bookreview #itstartswithus #colleenhoover #cohorts #contemporary #romancebooks #romancebookstagram #bookstagram #bookoholic #bookrecommendations #domesticabuse #womenempowerment #womenfiction #bookphotography #booklover #boston https://www.instagram.com/p/CkH3ORMg2tV/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Trying to create this book recommendations can be challenging. This is not really a book review, per se, but it does help the writer with a little bit more exposure.

Happy Publication Day to all the books out today. I know I reviewed many, including When Women Were Dragons by Kelly Barnhill. Such a gem of a women’s empowerment story. I loved the fantasy angle this story took. . Can you find the dragon on this cover? Isn’t it gorgeous? Are there any books coming out today that you’re excited about? . . . . #allthebooksmay22 #whenwomenweredragons #kellybarnhill #doubledaybooks #doubleday #womenreading #womenempowerment #womensupportingwomen #womenfiction #chicklit #chicklitreads #chicklitbooks #fantasybooks #fantasy #dystopian #dragons #fantasyreads #fantasyreader #fantasyreaders #tessatalksbooks #bookblogger #bookbloggersofinstagram #bookbloggersofig #bookbloggerlife #netgalley #netgalleyreads #netgalleyreview #netgalleyreviewer #netgalleyarc #netgalleyreader (at Lake Davidson) https://www.instagram.com/p/CdGUgicLfaR/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Book of the Day, May 22nd -- Other Fiction, Rated 5/5
Temporarily Discounted! Get your copy below: https://forums.onlinebookclub.org/shelves/book.php?id=190137
Handmaidens of Rock by Linda Gould
This book has earned a PERFECT 5/5 rating from an official Onlinebookclub.org Reviewer, and has 4 five-star ratings on Amazon!
----------
This is a story about a turbulent era for young people, the late 1960s and early 1970s.
If you find yourself feeling nostalgic for a bygone era, and are not too squeamish about the excesses of that time, then this book is for you! It will also appeal not only to rock and roll fans, but to readers of "chick-lit" who like to see women come into their own.
"The author has a genuine knack for taking us back to a nostalgic, more starry-eyed era with her novels. The prose is so clear, the plot twists so familiar from that special time.
"Linda Gould is a genuinely accomplished writer who deserves recognition." ~ Amazon reviewer

Book Review #152 : Daughters of Char Chinar by Almas Hussain
Author: Almas Hussain Genre: Fiction Ratings: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5
A splendid tale of redemption which gets hitched in your hearts forever. The way the author has depicted the story is very interesting and the readers can feel like they are part of the story and feel the emotions of the protagonists.
This is a story of two ill-fated identical twins, Meher and Nafisa, who are born in a place called Char Chinar where the beauty is the adversary for any women and where rape is considered a punishment, not a crime.
Nafisa and Meher have struggled throughout their adolescence from the wrath of their father Kazi who hates them for reason unknown to them. They are shifted to their maternal grandmother Nanna’s house where they are welcomed wholeheartedly. But that doesn’t solve their problems. Nanna plans of a terrific idea to avoid unnecessary attention of men towards her granddaughters.
Their life was finally turning out to be better until one day when their father kidnaps Nafisa and sacrifices her in the Jirga court as a punishment for his crime. The jirga courts are where an accused offers as a compensation to his crime a virgin female of his family, who is raped for revenge.
The author has taken very sensitive issues like the assault on women, women empowerment, primitive judicial systems like jirga courts and has woven the sorry very beautifully. It’s interesting to read how these twin sisters break all the shackles of society and redeem themselves. Will Nafisa be able to save herself from the jirga court rules? You will have to read the story to find out this.

🌟 BOOK REVIEW🌟 🌟 💫 Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Honest confession upfront- I haven’t seen or read Election yet so went in blind about the book or the central character. That would be my suggestion to anyone(a minority surely like me!) because this has all the potential to give you a Big Little Lies vibe albeit in a small town environment. So we are introduced to this small town public high school in New Jersey and the events surrounding the principal election and an inaugural hall of fame induction through the view points of 6 protagonists from different walks of life and each with a dark past. We have Tracy Flick, the chief aspirant and front runner for the principal position, a single mother and about to undergo a breakup, obsessed about winning and making a difference. You have an ex- NFL superstar, Vito Falcone, an alumni, suffering blackouts and after assaulting his wife, is shown trying to make amends for his past. We have principal Jack Weede, about to enter into a journey across the country with his wife after her miraculous remission. And then we have the Superintendent, the student members of the selection board and family/ former students, each of their stories highlighting the bullying, lies, deceits, racism, manipulation and adultery built into the town, it’s school and it’s people. All this leading to an explosive induction ceremony. Although the themes are dark, the book is entertaining and though the dark humor aspect is a hit and miss on occasion, I was never bored for a moment. The end was a bit of a shocker but possibly the correct ending. The major problem was none of the characters really left a mark- Tracy Flick, though the protagonist, really isn’t there enough to leave a mark. That can be said about a lot of other characters and storylines- all there, all relevant but never fully explored. There’s lots packed in this 260ish page book and credit where it’s due, the author keeps it brisk from the word go. Overall a breezy quick fun read. #bookreview #bookstagram #tomperrotta #tracyflick #tracyflickcantwin #bookrecommendations #darkhumor #womenfiction #adultfiction #literaryfiction #booklife https://www.instagram.com/p/ChV5n64LLm4/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Hi Bookstafam, How is your week going so far? What are you reading this week? There are so many amazing authors and their amazing books, so from this month, I started something new. Every month I am going to choose an author whose books I have not read. I will dedicate the entire month reading their books along with my other reading commitments. This month I decided to read books by @marykayandrews. I could read three of her books and I am so glad I did. I was so mesmerized by the description of beautiful Victorian houses, their architectures, amazing interiors and flowers along with strong female characters, their relationships and friendship. What are your favorite books by her? I need some recommendations. 📚 #marykayandrews #stmartinspress #stmartinspressbooks #savethedate #summerrental #springfever #authorfeature #authorsofinstagram #womenfiction #womenfictionauthors #reading #read #books #bookaddict #booklover #booknerd #bookcommunity #bookrecommendations #bookaholic #bookworm #readingnook #bookstafam #bookish #bookishlife (at Stay At Home) https://www.instagram.com/p/CFyf73gA8Hn/?igshid=1la2wncpwxe4s
