(NOT ATSV) my ideal miguel and miles friendship (bordering on enemies) dynamic is where Miles is sort of a Mean Girls figure where he’ll say the worst things to Miguel, who actually has no problems dishing that shit right back out, is usually too fed up or somewhere else mentally to reply. They fight a lot, more physically than verbally, usually in a slapstick comedy type of way. Miles is banned from Nueva York once a month and got a restraining order against Miguel in his own dimension. His parents fucking hate him and Miguel hates them right back. Rio has tried and failed to poison him via food and Jeff is considering hiring a hitman. Gabriel is beloved by them. Miles takes Miguel’s money at least twice a week to go spend it just because he can. Miguel has tried (and succeeded once) to get Miles sick with a future illness because he figured out the lesbian bar Miguel liked to perform at in drag. Miles has cried at least once in every room of Miguel’s apartment and Miguel has been confused on what to do each time besides an awkward hug and pat on the back. People are rightfully worried for Miles’s safety at least 80% of the time but when they aren’t they’re shaking their heads at the two’s antics. They need to be separated until they have a healthy “this is a grown ass man / this is stupid little girl i don’t like at work” relationship and it’ll take an act of god for either of them to realize their current one isn’t healthy at all and has extremely negative impacts on their mental state.
#i wanna write this so badly bc like . this type of relationship with adults as a kid when you can’t 100% trsut them and place your safety +#in their hands is sooo interesting to write esp considering Miguel’s past and what Miles is used to#which is dangerous fights from adults (his villains) but also the loving ones like his parents his neighbors ripeter and peter b etc#and this miguel (imo) wouldn’t hurt miles on purpose because he knows the pain BUT he also doesn’t realize some shit is pain-causing both+#mentally and physically bc yknow some abused kids grow into adults who subconsciously do similar shit#and for Miles and Miguel to finally realize beating the shit out of each other almost constantly and the negative back and forth (if miguel#feels like talking that day) is just. not a good thing#it’s sort of like the way i write pavitr and miles’s relationship regarding their fighting because it’s genuinely helpful but#can seem borderline awful and physically abusive to each other#peter b is so fucking worried sometimes bc he sees Miguel in a completely different way than other people. like he’s off in lala land#like. he’ll see this 15 year old stickbug of a kid fighting his buddy Miguel who has been known to kill#he’ll say some fights tou just can’t win Miles… and Miles is setting Miguel’s apartment on fire#like they have good moments. okay. trust me. but a toxic friendship like the kind you see that people take too seriously from a show like.#idk bluey. or some kids show like that.#spiderverse fans DNI ‼️‼️‼️🤦🏾🤦🏾🤦🏾🤦🏾🤦🏾🤦🏾🤦🏾🤦🏾🤦🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾‼️‼️‼️‼️#not ship never ship don’t even tag is as such bc i’ll just delete the post#miles morales#spiderman#spider man#gabriel o’hara#rio morales#jefferson morales#miguel o’hara#m&m posts

Trails of Love Hori's been paving down in the build up for the series' ending
Part II: Decoding the love story being told through other characters
Part One | II. Kirimina | Part Two -> IzuOcha?
.•° ✿ 4. KamiJirou ೋღ
Tumblr media
The next 'couple' that helps Horikoshi tell bkdk's love story is Kamijirou. They don't say it as explicitly to the readers as Gentle/La Brava and Kirimina do, but this moment is still worth mentioning as it's another example of other characters speaking for BkDk's actions.
In the first war, the Midnight group were traveling to go against the villains at their hideout, and Kaminari was scared out of his mind, unable to cope with his anxieties from the dangers facing him.
Tumblr media
Tokoyami tries to calm him down by praising his guitar skills, to no avail. Midnight is apologetically saying he's being involved in the war efforts because the adults don't have what it takes to fight alone.
She then tells him something which acts as confirmation of Kaminari's feelings for Jirou, for the first time in the manga.
Tumblr media
Think of the person who matters most to you, right now.
Tumblr media
They're both thinking of each other. This telepathic soul mates vibe reminds me of how BkDk are with each other, too.
This is my favourite drawing of Kaminari, he looks so pretty to me and I think it's because his situation and his expression shows the love and worry in his heart for Jirou. Up until this point he's been quite an elusive character to me that hit on the girls in the class at the beginning and suddenly we see he actually cares a great deal for just one... Jirou. It would seem he's found his match in her. ^_^
This theme of "thinking of the person that matters most" to stave off your fears never went away... because almost 100 chapters later, Hori draws upon it again when Katsuki realises sAFO was only interested in killing him and would not stop until he was dead.
None of the heroes had the power to prevent it... his hero wouldn't make it in time, his own efforts failed and his body and mind were brutalised in a really humiliating way.
Tumblr media
Knowing he was soon going to die because sAFO wanted to use his death to hurt his most precious person was a very frightening experience for Kacchan. Thoughts of "the person who matters most to him" provided him emotional comfort to get through it all.
Stripped completely bare and facing his end... all Katsuki could think about was Izuku being right there beside him, and he never let himself give in to sAFO's provocations. Instead of feeling betrayed by Izuku's love, he felt empowered by it. He wanted to be strong for Izuku's sake. His spirit would not be broken.
Just like how Kaminari realised what his feelings for Jirou were, Kacchan also realised how much he and Izuku were loving each other right then, during this very dire moment, and he used their precious feelings as his strength to keep pushing forward.

I'm so excited a discussion about Zenos is happening! I've submitted Y'shtola and I think Arendvald was maybe me too, been meaning to type out one for Thancred, Raubahn, and possibly a couple others, too. I love FFXIV so much, is major special interest.
[SPOILERS AHEAD FOR ANYONE NOT DONE WITH FFXIV MSQ AND INTENDING TO PLAY IT] So, to add some context to Zenos! He's a villain that stands out from the rest, and the player character (WoL from hereon) is the only person he truly wants to fight. He is canonically extremely gifted, and it's both as something that makes him super deadly and one of a few factors playing into how he has absolutely no pleasure from anything in life. Except fighting people that really do pose a challenge to him, which is like... the WoL. That's the end of that list. He's the son of a ruler in an authoritorian fascist empire (Garleans), with highly rigid and cold regimes and practices and extremely large differences in power across their vast power hierarchy.
He is cold, indifferent, ruthless, and extremely dangerous. But he doesn't kill aimlessly either, it gives him no joy, and he doesn't wish to spent time on unworthy targets that wouldn't challenge him in the slightest. He canonically is miserable in life, always been an outsider, always felt alien to his society. He finds everything boring, and he despises boring. He's got lines of dialogue saying nothing makes him feel anything at all, except when he's almost killed in battle by the WoL. So he keeps seeking out the WoL, teasing and egging on to try and get that rush again.
Canon factors that cause this: - Childhood without parental attachments, because his mother died and his father was emotionally, socially, and physically distant - Forced to train and behave as an adult from an unreasonably young age, in a highly formal and structured environment without room for being a child - His giftedness, described in ways similar to real life gifted child experiences and complications - Chronic boredom and lack of emotion, described in ways similar to understimulation and flat affect - Lack of any attachments or interest in social relations of any kind, described in ways similar to antisocial personality characteristics, where he both cannot socially connect and doesn't care
I'm not sure if canon directly talks about his apparent lack of empathy using words or phrases that align with the concept of empathy, but several other characters express disgust and anger at how he shows no empathy or remorse. Aka it is heavily implied he does not have emotional empathy, and does not care about the cognitive empathy he does have. He says in different ways at many points in time that he doesn't enjoy this existence, he doesn't wish for this. He even had a nearly successful suicide attempt. He is functionally isolated and totally excluded from society, and in practice can't or won't or both do anything other than look for the next way to try and feel something.
The game generally doesn't use terms for health and illness as we know them, but if I were to try and translate the terms and phrasings and tellings they do use about Zenos, I'd no doubt say he has a severe attachment disorder which with his giftedness creates a very skilled but very dysfunctional person. His giftedness for both intellect and learning and combat is a blessing and a curse. Then, if we're going more into harder to translate from in-world lingo to our-world lingo territory, he does have a variety of traits that align with antisocial personality disorder as well as dysthymia.
Overall he is a villain that portrays a lot of contrasts and conflicts in function talked about regarding 2e / twice exceptional people and who is both an absolutely ruthless one man army monster and also just alone, miserable, empty, and without any pleasure from anything in life, where a lot of it is likely caused by the circumstances of his childhood.
Tumblr media
Thank y’all for your input + the people in the comments of the other post. He will be included, his poll will run at some point.

A major arc in Young Justice 1998 is Sins of Youth, which was a crossover in which, due to shenanigans, all the adult heroes were aged down into children or teenagers, and all the young heroes were aged into adults, and from there they all had to figure out how to solve the problem and revert to their proper ages. This allowed for some interesting character exploration in how each individual handled the age change, and there's a lot there, but I'd like to specifically look at the brief glimpse we get of an aged-up Grant Emerson, and how that compares with how his actual adulthood goes later on.
This is during Grant's second time with the Titans, during the 1999 series. For some reason, not all of his team experiences an age change, but he's one of several who do.
And it turns out that grown-up Grant, whom the team knows as a self-doubting, emotionally driven teenager who's still struggling to control his dangerous powers...well, he's a lot different now.
Tumblr media
(Sins of Youth Secret Files #1)
He's a decisive, principled leader, intent on solving the problem at hand.
Tumblr media
And his team is shocked, but impressed.
Tumblr media
Grant loves being an adult. It gives him a sense of control that he's always been frustrated not to have. He has such a mastery of his biokinetic energy powers now that he can even use them to fly, something he's never done before.
Tumblr media
He's in no hurry to revert back to being a teenager.
Tumblr media
After all, everything goes so much better! His recklessness has become an ability to take calculated risks.
Tumblr media
And he's able to avoid causing the extreme levels of damage and harm to others that has brought him so much guilt since the time his first explosion destroyed his school.
Tumblr media
But of course everything returns to normal. We don't get Grant's reaction to becoming a teenager again. But I find it interesting that the writer of this story chose to depict the Titans' loose cannon as growing up to be self-controlled, thoughtful, and an excellent leader--not to mention happy! Grant's usually a mess, but this interpretation of his possible future provides a refreshingly hopeful outlook for him.
And then there's what actually happens to him:
After leaving the Titans, he joins another team. They get attacked, and most of them die. Grant is left severely scarred.
He isn't equipped to handle this well, spirals into anger and self-loathing, and starts wearing a mask constantly.
He joins a new team, gets taken under the wing of a teammate who's also kind of his sister genetically, but continues to struggle. Makes a few friends. Stands up for a new hero, keeps her from getting arrested, and develops a crush on her.
Someone who turns out to be a villain restores his face. He's happy for the first time in a long time! He joins the villain's cult, becomes more and more obnoxious as they brainwash him, gets into a fight with his late father's godson who tries to talk some sense into him, and in a fit of rage destroys first his father's letters and then his father's entire house.
The restored face doesn't last. He tries to hide the scars from the girl he likes. She takes a long look at his face...and kisses him.
He joins his team in a huge battle against...what basically amounts to zombies and gets to meet his father for the first time. As a zombie. Who says awful things to him. He escapes, only to have his heart literally ripped out by another zombie.
This makes him a Black Lantern, another murderous zombie. But he has enough of himself left to fight against this and saves his JSA teammates by creating one last explosion that destroys all the Black Lanterns in the vicinity--including himself.
His girlfriend gives the eulogy at his funeral and decides to use money taken from an assassin she turned in to donate, in memory of Grant, to the victims of his accidental Atlanta explosion, who still have medical bills.
And that's it. He dies.
Except the new continuity has brought him back to life with no explanation and done practically nothing with him. But a panel in the recently released Justice Society of America 2022 #6 briefly shows him in a new situation:
Tumblr media
A lot of Golden Age child sidekicks have been brought back into the continuity, and Grant is here accompanied by Dan the Dyno-Mite, former sidekick to the now deceased hero TNT--both of whom have/had explosive powers relatable to Grant's.
Is this his future now? Getting handed the care or mentorship of an explosive child? That might do him some good. At the very least, it's a path that might give him opportunity to become something more like the adult he got to be during Sins of Youth--a leader, an inspirer of others. His happiest self.

I finally watched sonic the hedgehog 2, loved it. It’s better than the first one and I think there’s one very specific reason for this that to get into it ill have to talk spoilers so I’ll say my thesis statement now and ramble under a read more like this is a proper analysis and not a sonic fan yakking your ears off for no good reason:
The people working on this movie clearly love the source material. And for movies adapting a licensed property, video games especially, that is depressingly rare.
We all remember that “yellow spandex” joke from the first x-men movie, right? I think it’s safe to say that that particular line hasn’t really aged well because, well, yeah, we kinda did expect him to wear yellow fucking spandex, because this is a movie based on a damn comic book.
When the Raimi Spider-man movies just showed him wearing the damn suit, red fucking spandex and all, people cheered. When it showed villains in garish colorful costumes, we loved it. Because it drew from what people liked about the original story, dorky stuff included. The last truly great Marvel movie, as far as I’m concerned, is the first Captain America movie. Because it actually fully engaged with how silly the original comic from the 40′s was.
Hollywood has this slightly infuriating habit of kinda looking down their noses when adapting a pop culture thing into a movie. They surgically remove everything that’s too colorful or “kiddy” and try and make something that looks like a “respectable” production, even if at the end of the day they’re marketing towards kids and teenagers because that’s the audience the original was made for. Even if you’re also aiming for the grown up audience that read/watched/played the original when they were kids, those people are excitedly filing into the theater expecting some yellow fucking spandex and taking out that yellow fucking spandex isn’t going to thrill the people that never read the comics because why would they give a damn, and it’s at best going to annoy the people who read the comic and at worst is going to get you some very strongly worded emails.
The first Captain America movie presented the original costume, weird shield and wings on the head and all, as a corny propaganda spinner because that’s what it was, in the real world I mean. It was goofy and dorky and bright fucking blue spandex and they actually engaged with that instead of putting Steve in that more “proper” costume later that actually looks like it was designed by someone who wanted the guy who was gonna wear it to be able to fight in it straight away like the goofy stuff was never there. And that was great! You put some effort into sitting down and working the source material in your hands into a different story and you got something honest. And fun.
And, most of all, unironic.
The first Sonic movie was...okay. It was fun, and basic, and I liked it. But throughout it all I couldn’t shake the feeling that it was a thoroughly Hollywood production. They gave Sonic a pretty generic “chosen one with dangerous power loses his home to his impetuousness and learns to control that power to save new friends” plot line and what came out of it was a pretty alright but at the end of the day basic movie that did the job just fine. It was no Detective Pikachu, which came out the same year, which took the source material and went to some bonkers places with it, it was content with making a fun and breezy Sonic movie for kids to enjoy and that adults could sit through and go “heh, okay” through and that was that.
It didn’t really engage with source material though, there was barely any reference to any of the games, it was pretty much a completely separate continuity. I couldn’t really shake the feeling that, fun as this movie was, nothing in it was distinctly Sonic beyond a place being called Green Hills. And a few snippets of music from the Genesis games.
I think what kept that from being a deal breaker is that the director clearly likes Sonic. There’s a bunch of really tiny references dotted throughout the movie, like he was trying to sneak it in where the producer couldn’t see it and tell him to “take that kiddie shit out”, so to speak. And you can feel that love, you can feel that this isn’t like the Smurf movies, where nobody on the cast or crew gave two shits about any of this and just wanted a paycheck. People gave a damn when they made this movie, despite it all.
Sonic 2 though...
Eggman is decked out in his proper video game black and red and white color scheme and stays in it for pretty much the entire runtime (moustache included!!), the plot is very clearly a riff on the same basic story from Sonic 3 & Knuckles but merges it with the world it’s already made into something all its own, and on top of that there’s a ton of references to previous games and shows and the comics that are so blatant and in your face they straight up made me laugh.
There’s a coffee shop named Mean Bean (though that might have been in the first movie also but it serves as eggman’s base of operations this time), Eggman has a bunch of new robot models that straight up just look like some of the OG badnicks, he rides around in his Egg-o-matic hover car for most of the movie and ends up building the Death Egg Robot at the climax (still in the red and yellow color scheme mind you!,  the climax itself is a bit of a riff on Sonic Heroes, Sonic gets trapped under water and just sucks in an air bubble like in sonic 1 (minus the jingle, obviously), sonic has to snowboard to outrun an avalanche at one point, there’s a helicopter with SA-2 written on it for God’s sake, and on that note GUN gets founded (and it’s name gets a quick and funny gee u en...gun? really? joke), and a bunch more I probably missed.
Point is, the love you can feel in the original movie is finally allowed to breath in this one, most of the movie focuses on Sonic and Tails directly, it does a pretty interesting varation on the Knuckles and Eggman plot (for there is only one of those and you know what I’m talking about) owing to them having a very unique and entertaining version of Knuckles. He’s always been a bit naïve and blunt, but making him the straightforward honor obsessed warrior type fits him well and Idris Elba proved how committed he was to doing this part justice by stealing every scene he was in, Which is a hard thing to do since he shares most of his scenes with Jim Carrey Eggman who is somehow even nuttier then the original movie.
Jeff Fowler had room to make his own continuity with this film series, since Sonic has been doing that with every new media venture and video game since the Archie comics in the late 90′s, and he really did prove how much he loves the Sonic series by not making a new Hollywood story, but his very own Sonic story.
And I can’t wait to see what he does with Shadow “i have a gun” The Hedgehog in the next one.

What a3 character would you want in the batman universe and why-
ohmygod
i admit that my knowledge of batman is pretty limited to mostly the posts on this website and like the 3 movies i saw so i can't give the most amazing of replies to this,
but my first thought was definitely, the Autumn Troupe. Because i think they would cause so much chaos that it would put them on super villains/super hero radars
Like i can imagine. Omi belonging to a group of thug unaware the mafia of the corner was using them, and later he quited and tried to have a normal life but he's just hunted down in every corner. Probably has to turn into vigilante work for it, but also very likely to try to "reform" as a photograph journalist to try to take down the gangs and mafia he holds responsible for Nachi's death. He already has a codename after all.
Sakyo belonging to a mafia that's not so shady in general but therefore it makes people uneasy about how much they can approach him. I could see him become easily an informant from the underground in some way. Azami can remain pretty much the same but i can imagine that he'd run off from his father once in a while to try to catch a glimpse at super heroes in the city, or help them by starting fights. Sakyo and Batman being on speaking term because for years now Batman found Azami doing dangerous things and brought him back home to Sakyo, and Sakyo has to try to hide it from the big boss, so now they have a "🤝 my adopted child doesn't listen to me" solidarity.
Taichi's storyline can almost be 101, him being used by bad people first by promises of a happier future and then by threats and he's slowly losing it until either the rest of Autumn finds him, or Batman does. Except that it means Taichi is even more in danger than in canon so, huh, save him?
Juza is trying to live his life normally but thugs are always attacking him so he probably ended up recluently doing his own bit of trying to keep super villains at bay completely by accident. Probably got noticed by Batman in the sense "wow a teen who can fight and who's trying to not fall to what society is pushing on him is he an orphan or?"
Banri's story could be a mess because i think he'd go to vigilante work right away out of pure "need to feel some thrill" while he still has a moral compass, but it means he's not immune to villains who are like, not completely harmful? Like i think Catwoman could coax him into stealing a museum with her. I think esp that since he's not acting with any of the big guy at first, super villains could target him just to get rid of him, but eventually some would catch on his "super ultra easy mode" (tell me it's not almost a superpower) and would specifically try to recruit him to do bad things for them. Which would also put him on the good guys radar who would probably try also to get him on their side.
But as i love my troupes all together eventually i sure hope they get to all meet regardless and end up forming the second most dysfunctional superhero squad in all of Gotham. But there i'm missing the steps to get there.
Though i think, with the idea of Batman having crossed path with all of them, he'd probably be completely baffled by this team up. The fact that now all of them are protecting Taichi for example, or the fact Azami is much less willing to listen to any of the adults around them.
So, Batman turns to Sakyo and is like, so, huh, you adopted more kids? and Sakyo tries to deny, "like hell i would adopt those pain in the ass." and Banri would reply something like "yeah who would like a father like you" with Azami following "Ditto." Which is the one killer move to have Sakyo starts to throw dagger for eyes, only stopped because Taichi gets teary and "but we ARE a family right guys? guys??? guys???" and Sakyo gets Taichi-mailed into having to admit he cares about those guys. Batman just nodding because ah yeah that's how it is at home too it's fine.
Then in general nothing really stops the rest of Mankai to have normal lives in the background as well (from like half of Winter having a night life in crime infested Gotham and stuff like that) but Autumn is the one Troupe that seems to me like they'd end up involved in the middle of superhero/supervillain battles.
and i'd love to point out say, more dynamic with the rest of the Batfamily, but i genuinely only know them from shitposts so i will not do myself the embarrassment to try that.
Hope this lives up to your expectations ^^
have fun!

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children (2016)
Tumblr media
In recent years, the projects handed to Tim Burton may have felt right on paper but in execution didn’t suit his filmmaking style at all (looking at you, Dumbo and Alice in Wonderland). Despite these mistakes, we keep coming back. Why? Because when he’s the man for the job, there’s no one better - as Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children demonstrates. This quirky, slightly dark celebration of the weird suits him perfectly.
Jake Portman (Asa Butterfield) travels to a reclusive island on the behest of his recently deceased grandfather. There, he finds a group of “Peculiars”, boys and girls with extraordinary powers, under the guard of Miss Peregrine (Eva Green). Isolated from civilization thanks to a time loop created in 1943, they hide from a world that wouldn’t understand them but mostly, they hide from ghoulish Peculiars named Hollows - eyeball-eating fiends.
After Harry Potter, The Hunger Games and Twilight there was a deluge of Young Adult Novel fantasy/sci-fi adventures, most of which were non-starters. The genre began on a high note (you should see how bad the Twilight knockoffs got) and fell sharply afterwards. This film is one of the few exceptions. It begins with an original premise. There’s a lot of mythology to digest with time loops and different factions of people with superpowers - honestly, it gets a bit confusing towards the end - but on the surface, it’s nice and digestible. Children with strange abilities living under the protection of a teacher that must keep them hidden. A lonely teen who befriends them. Monsters determined to ruin everything. Got it? Now we can examine the characters residing at the school. They’re fun because their abilities are varied and unique. You won't find stand-ins of popular superheroes here. Everyone at the school has something to contribute when the action scenes call for them but you can also see why these children's bizarre skills force them to live in isolation.
The story leans into the weirdness of Miss Peregrine’s home and then splits off into scenes that are either charming and wonderful or frightening and unsettling. The mix endears you to Jake and his new friends. It also makes the danger feel real. People getting their eyeballs eaten makes your skin crawl but it’s such a bizarrely gruesome fate it doesn’t feel like it would be too much for young (but not too young) audiences to handle. Such grisly choices make the story unpredictable. So much of this is so strange it wouldn't matter who it was happening to, you'd just want to see what was next. What are those twins hiding behind their mask? What’s it like living in a time loop? What’s the deal with the eyes, and with Jake’s grandfather? How can you combine all of the children’s mismatched abilities into a fighting force to repel the villains after them? The answers are wildly inventive.
Much to my disappointment, it doesn’t look like we’ll be getting a sequel to Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. At least the picture makes the wise choice to end on a definitive note instead of teasing us something that’ll never come.
I suspect Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children will be the kind of teen-oriented adventure some will absolutely fall in love with because of its quirks. It’s thrilling and a little bit loopy - and I mean that in a good way. (February 14, 2020)

Your teen wolf writing is seriously incredible. Among the best content out there
Tumblr media
To be quite honest, I have a lot of good material with which to work.
I love Teen Wolf. I love it's aesthetic. I love it's morality. I love the fact that since its focus characters are teenagers, it doesn't create shortcuts where suddenly those characters are occult scholars or professional espionage agents. I love the way it responded to the strengths of the individual actors embodying their characters. I love the way it takes risks, from the fractured narrative of Frayed to the inscrutable menace of the Dread Doctors to the fact that there was no way to stop the Wild Hunt. I love the way it employs recursion, parallelism and narrative foils without restraint; it is a show aimed at teenagers and young adults but doesn't treat its audience as simpletons.
Most of all, I love Scott McCall. I love that he wasn't a Chosen One. He didn't learn how to fight by the end of episode 3; there were still better fighters than him at the end of episode 100. I love that he didn't act like a professional operative or a seasoned military commander by the end of the first season. He remained a teenager throughout. I love his resilience, his insistence that people were more important than power, and his refusal to allow what others had done to him to change him into something jaded or damaged. Most of all, I love his determination, arising both from principal and emotion, to preserve life by ending cycles of violence. Too often in modern culture, individuals who reject lethal force as a political tool are presented either as 1) Useless Pacifists Who Must Learn an Important Lesson in Putting Success Before Principle by being forced into situations where 'killing is the only option' or as 2) White Knights Who Value Their Own Moral Integrity and Succeed Without Soiling Their Uniforms. Scott never sought out danger; the villains threatened him or those he loved, yet he never allowed those villains to determine his response. Scott endured suffering, humiliation, weakness, failure, and betrayal, but he never abandoned the motivations that made him fight in the first place. What's not to like?
Of course, when you love something, you have to be careful not to let that love blind you to its weaknesses. I wish that the writing had shown Scott more sympathy for what he went through; while I don't think that this was the show's intention, I think its decision not to have Scott spend any time on the agonies he endured eventually lessened their impact. I have also been convinced that the show runner, Jeff Davis, suffered from problems with attention and self-discipline. He was so concerned with the Big Things that he didn't pay enough attention to the Little Things that make the Big Things meaningful, and it resulted in things like the show's nonexistent chronology or the degradation of the relationship between Scott and his mother (did you notice that Scott and Melissa never had a conversation about his romantic interest or his grades after Season 2? That they never had a discussion about Scott and Rafael?)
This inattention also allowed the problems plaguing the greater culture of the United States to seep in. A character's chances of surviving were heavily influenced by whether they were a good-looking white male or not. There is literally no greater example of poor behavior of a production leading to a racist impact than Vernon Boyd's death scene. When Boyd told Derek that the feelings he experienced during the full moon, it's obvious that the character is being used as a prop for Derek's journey. Boyd experienced two full moons -- the one in the dirty train station in Party Guessed where he was chained in a rusty car and beaten by Derek or the one when he was murderously insane and then trapped in a boiler room. Which feelings exactly made it worth it? To me, the writers were either so disinterested in Boyd's character that they forgot that he couldn't feel the full moon while trapped in a bank vault or, more likely, they were aware that the audience was so fundamentally invested in Derek's sob story that they wouldn't notice.
As you engage with a phenomenon which you love, these things begin to stand out, and you have to grapple with them, but if its truly quality, the flaws -- even the egregious ones -- don't sully your enjoyment. I still love the show, and I'm still going to be writing about it. I look forward to the movie with great anticipation.

Sabretooth and the Exiles #5 - Too much Sabretooth, not enough Exiles.
I'm sure it's weird to say that about a book where he is literally the title character, but I am only reading this book for the Exiles and Victor LaValle, Creed himself can get thrown into the sun for all I care.
The main Exiles group gets dragged down into a research chamber under the sea where six super-powered babies are freaking out:
Tumblr media
Apparently the babies react badly to any adult coming near them, due to Orchis torturing them. Nanny has a plan! Maybe not a good plan, but a plan!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And it works! Nanny reduces everyone except herself to a childlike mental state, and this calms the mutant babies. This picture is so adorable, I love Oya hugging the teddy bear. And I love Third Eye's pose, like he's not holding a toy or anything, but that is a very child-like expression and way of sitting.
Of course, Nanny has a part 2 to her plan:
Tumblr media
Nanny and Peter stay behind with the babies, I'm sure Nanny raising six extremely powerful infants will be totally fine and not cause any problems at all. I'm really loving Nekra in this series, btw, she really seems to want to take care of people, and is embracing a more heroic, leader role.
Meanwhile, Sabretooth fights Graydon Creed, who has been killing Sabretooths across the multiverse, with the help of a few AU counterparts. Graydon gets tossed into the multiverse portal, which puts him out of play for now, and Sabretooth makes plans with his counterparts to raid Krakoa, and specifically go after Wolverine. Oh, and he now has a whole army of headless Sabretooths that he can control via remote, because that's what Graydon did with all the dead Daddy Creeds. This best part of this storyline is the Re-animator joke:
Tumblr media
We leave the Exiles in an uncertain state. Sabretooth is doing his own thing, and they are now on a ship with about a thousand mutants that they have pledged to look after. And they are presumably not going back to Krakoa, even though the mutant refugees would easily be accepted there. (Heck, the Exiles themselves might be welcomed back for rescuing so many kidnapped mutants, even though they haven't stopped Creed yet.)
A data page suggests that they will settle in a swamp, and that Sabretooth will come back in a very big and bad way. I think there is one more mini coming after this:
Tumblr media
I'm probably not the best person to read this series, given that I really despise Sabretooth, but I think LaValle does a good job of writing him as a villain protagonist. You can kind of root for him while he's being tortured by Orchis, or fighting Graydon Creed, and he is instrumental in rescuing all the kidnapped mutants, but he's clearly not a hero. Not even really an anti-hero. There's no redemption suggested for Creed, and he clearly doesn't care about the Exiles or the refugee mutants, they are just tools for him to use. I expect he'll play a role in Fall of X, when he presumably attacks Krakoa.
I think LaValle also has done a good job in this series of using Nanny and Peter, even though they weren't part of his original group and came into the pit via Hellions. Nanny is a fun, even sympathetic character (especially when she threatens to shank Sinister), but she's also dangerous and not entirely trustworthy. Like, maybe Nanny will show up in the next series with her six incredibly powerful mutant babies and save the day, but she could also just cause complete chaos. Peter seems to be starting to distrust her as well, a rift that started back in Hellions; it'll be interesting if he decides to leave her and join the Exiles group.
I also liked the use of Toad so far, another character tossed in the pit from another series. He hasn't done much, but I appreciated him seeing through Sabretooth's bullshit last issue, when Creed was giving a manipulative and self-serving speech to all the refugee mutants, trying to turn them into his own little army. Toad's got a lot of experience being fanatically devoted to a leader, and I'd like to see him be the voice of reason.
To be honest, my biggest fear is that Toad might get killed off, and not resurrected, and the fact that he got framed and condemned to the Pit as an innocent man will not be acknowledged in any other comic, or at best will be a brief scene where Wanda or a resurrected Magneto express some regret over Toad's fate then quickly gloss over it, because Toad's innocence is really Williams' plot point, it's not something that any other writer seems to want to deal with. Even LaValle hasn't really gotten into it, but I don't really blame him, it's Williams' mess, and he's just finding ways to use Toad in his cast. Technically you could say Toad's innocence doesn't really matter - ALL of the Exiles got screwed over in some way, and none of them really deserve to be outcast from Krakoa. (Except Sabretooth, yes he was also screwed over, yes that's the whole point of the series, but he's such a vicious, destructive piece of shit, it's fine to keep him away. At least most of the other villains have been willing to play nice.) But Toad is the one who really sticks in my craw, because it was so badly done in ToM, because this character who has always been treated like garbage got sacrificed as a pawn in the scheme of two more "important" and more conventionally attractive mutants, and neither have them have lifted a finger to help Toad, and Williams seems to think that was just fine and dandy. I really, really want there to be a reckoning for Toad, ideally one where he is still alive.
This book had better not touch Oya, Nekra or Third Eye, either.
Madison appears to still be "dead," but given the way he died, I fully expect that he'll come back in the next series. Either he'll have downloaded his consciousness into the ship, or he'll have found a way to create a body out of inorganic material. In the first series, when the group was manifesting themselves around Krakoa, Madison was talking about how a body made of micro-plastics felt "right" to him, so I half-expect we'll see Micro-plastic Jeffries rising out of the ocean.
Damn, this wound up being a lot.

Babes and the Beast Tropes Page
I made a tv tropes page for my GF fan-story. Later this month, I’ll be reposting edited chapters.
Adult Fear - Two small children are repeatedly thrown into danger, much to the horror of their grown-up guardians.
Angry Mob - Somewhat justified. Gideon galvanizes the townspeople into thinking Stan kidnapped and brainwashed the kids.
Baleful Polymorph - Everyone in the castle has been transformed against their will.
Benevolent Boss - Stan is this to the castle staff; gruff and scary, but also kind and protective.
Big Brother Instinct - Obviously, Dipper and Mabel as well as Stan and Ford have this for each other.
Big Ball - The Hanukah party in Chapter Nine.
Cool Big Sister - Wendy is this to Dipper and Mabel.
Creepy Good - Stan is this to a T. Also applies to Robbie.
Curse Escape Clause - The curse that transforms everyone at the castle can be broken by Stan loving and being loved by someone who sees his inner beauty. He learn this not from the one who cursed him, but from a good witch in the forest.
Dead Parents Are the Best - Dipper and Mabel’s parents are missed not just by their children but by the whole town.
Divine Intervention - More like fairy intervention. In the eleventh hour, Jheslbraum the oracle uses her magic to restart Stans’ heart and bring him back to life. Justified in-story by her own inner monologue.
Dream Visions - Mabel and Dipper have these when they sleep. They’re implied to be sent by Jheslbraum herself.
Enchanted Forest - Downplayed since most of the forest’s magical aspects are hibernating.
Fair Folk - All magical creatures either featured or mentioned can be considered Fai beings.
Filler Episode - Chapter 7, Which is made from scenes I couldn’t fit into other chapters.
Found Family - Dipper and Mabel find this with Stan and the castle staff.
Gaslamp Fantasy - I added some steampunk elements to the story, such as MkGuckets’ inventions and the castle boiler.
Haunted Castle - The Falls Family castle comes off as this.
He Cleans Up Nice - Applies to Stan when he bathes and puts on nice clothes.
Honorary Uncles - Dipper and Mabel refer to Old Man McGucket as “Uncle Fiddle”. They also start calling Stan and Ford Uncle. (I’m intentionally vague as to whether or not they’re actually related.)
I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream - Ford is a sentient book who can’t speak, move, feel, or even see without someone holding him.
Knight Templar Big Brother - Stan is this for Ford, justified since Ford is helpless and delicate.
Light is Not Good - Monster King Bill Cipher appears as a glowing yellow triangle. Also, Gideon wears white and blue, colors normally associated with heroes.
Loon with a Heart of Gold- Old Man MkGucket.
Lost Heirs - Stan and Ford are part of the noble Falls family, making them the landlords of Gravity Falls
Misunderstood Loner with a Heart of Gold - Stan is this. So is MkGucket.
Nice Jewish Boy - Dipper Pines is this. My version of the Pines family is more in tune with their Hebrew roots.
Papa Wolf - Stan is a very protective parental figure.
Power of Love - Family love specifically.
Protect this House - In Chapter Ten, the castle staff fights off the angry mob,
Protective Kids - Dipper and Mabel are this; first to MkGucket, then to Stan and Ford.
Rags to Riches - At the end of the story, Dipper and Mabel are made heirs to Stan and Fords’ castle and the Falls family fortune.
Shipper on Deck - Mabel tries to set Stan up with Lazy Susan. It doesn’t work out.
Tearjerker - Stans’ death scene.
Villainous Crush - Gideon has one for Mabel.
X Meets Y - This story is literally a fairy tale mixed with a cryptidcore cartoon. And it works surprisingly well!
I might add to the list in the future.

Sh*t went down last season huh? Well, every ep was a “bomb”, so no doubt we’d all be screaming at the drama that the game changing episodes would bring and now let’s pick up the pieces of what was left from the launch of those things:Marinette struggled with guardianship (the entirety of Season 4), Hawk Moth became Shadow Moth (“Truth”/“Lies”), Lukanette and Adrigami broke up (“Truth”/“Lies”), Alya found out Marinette is Ladybug (“Gang of Secrets”), Ladybug created anti-akumatizing charms (“Mr.Pigeon 72”), we were introduced to Chloe’s long lost half-sister, Zoe Lee (“Sole Crusher”), Felix found out Gabe is Shadow Moth (“Gabriel Agreste”), Adrien is controlled by Emilies ring Gabe now wears *cough*hesasentimonsterfosho*cough* (“Mega Leech”), more of Marinettes friends became supers (“Queen Banana”/“Mega Leech”/“Guiltrip”/“Crocoduel”/“Penalteam”), Alya was the ladybug holder for a day (“Hack-San”), Luka found out who the dynamic duo were and kept it to himself (“Wishmaker”), we got another “reset button” ep on “What-would-happen-if-the-love-square-happened-and-then-the-villain-f**ks-it-up-again” as the 💯th ep (“Ephemeral”), Adrien quit being Cat Noir again, but got back to his job (“Kuro Neko”), Chloe and Lila allied together (“Penalteam”) and Shadow Moth got a hold of (almost) all the miraculouses thanks to Felix! (Shadow Moths Final Attack:“Risk”/“Strike Back”) Don! Don! Don! What are the heroes gonna do!? What’s Shadow Moths next move!? Is Paris gonna be saved!? Do you like the new ladybug frames!? Let’s see:
*Evolution-We pick up right where we left off from last seasons finale, despite Shadow Moth Monarch (and I don’t mean the villain from Venture Bros.) Don! Don! Don! Obtaining most of the miraculouses and threatening to attack relentlessly unless Ladybug and Cat Noir surrender their miraculouses, all of Paris is still on the dynamic duos side and thanks to them and Cat encouraging her with his love and loyalty, she stands proud to continue her duties.
Gabes new look as Monarch is pretty weird honestly…….he looks kinda like Thanos! Those poor Kwamies now have to suffer through the likes of the madman and submit as he uses them all simultaneously and starts with the rabbit miraculous, a.k.a. The Time-Traveling power! Don! Don! Don! Fortunately, adult Bunnyx arrives to help out the heroes after they witnessed “5 minute later” versions of them chasing Monarch through time.
Starting this season, we’ll be getting a miraculous power themed ep on which one Monarch uses for his schemes, to begin, we have the most powerful (and dangerous) miraculous, right up there with the ladybug and black cat, The Rabbit Miraculous. We’ve seen it’s work done to prevent disasters in the future form the past. Whether it’s defeating a future rapping smart mouth kid all grown up akumatized villain (“Timetagger”) or battling an albino evil version of your partner that turned Earth into a waterpark planet cuz “he-found-out-his-dad-was-his-and-his-ladies-(whom-he-found-out-was-also-his-classmate-and-they-were-happily-dating-until-forced-to-break-up-and-she-found-out-he-was-her-crime-fighting-partner-who was-also-her-crush) arch-enemy-and-was-so-traumatize-he-started-the-apocalypse-and-killed-everyone!”(“Cat Blanc”), the heroes still managed to save the day and press the accursed reset button. It was this drastic situation that called up teen Alix who officially became Bunnyx! (trumpets sounds) And gets to keep it! (trumpets end in a triumphant finish)🎉Congratulations! Alix!🎉 Your father is so proud of you! FYI, he saw this coming.
Season 5, what was originally meant to be the final season of the show, now has expanded to two more seasons (and if what I heard was true, we’ll be getting 12 seasons, so we’re on SpongeBob levels here on this!). Oh God! Hope the staff know the kids watching are growing up and write more serious eps! Monarchs use of the rabbit miraculous had us traveling through previous eps on moments where there was a perfect opportunity to steal the ladybug and black cat miraculous when the heroes were at their weakest! Guess the writers found out we fans pointed out scenes where that would’ve been easier to do (ex. Ladybug restrained by Lady Wifi), but no matter which moment Monarch found to literally steal his victory, the heroes and his own health weakening from wearing too many miraculouses (least Marinette was smart to use the Mouse Miraculous to make clones of herself to hold each miraculous to not fall ill), were holding him back. Another thing that made him lose was his obsession with defeating Ladybug and Cat Noir and not using the Rabbit Miraculous to go back and say-oh idk,-save his wife Emilie from falling into a coma! He and Emilie were so happy together there. Gabe was so young, so sweet, (so sane!). Nathalie calls him out on this decision as it was THE WHOLE F**KING REASON WHY HE WAS DOING THIS IN THE FIRST PLACE!!! And cuz of his stupidity, she quit! Good for you Nat, good for you!👏👏👏How’s this gonna effect the show? Is she gonna tell Adrien!? (shrugs). Also, when time-traveling, Master Fu met up with the future Ladybug and Cat Noir which led him to choose Marinette and Adrien! That’s cool! Wonder if he recognized them from their hair styles? Hmmm. Good News:The Rabbit Miraculous is saved, Bad News:Monarch got away and still has the others, but if I’m correct, we’ll be getting each one from the eps that follow. WAIT! There’s only 19 miraculouses! (old timey printer sounds in the background) Ladybug and Cat Noir still have theirs, Monarch had 2, then gave away one (the peacock to Felix), gained 15 and and now had 16, but he just lost another (the rabbit to Alix), so now he only has 15 again! (old timey printer dings to a *STOP*) That wouldn’t make a full season! Plus, how do we even know Monarch will keep in the shadows!? How’s this gonna work on getting back the rest of the miraculouses!? This I gotta see! What’s coming for this season? The final Agreste family arc, being more dramatic and thrilling, a new character from the future, the first eight eps are “explosive” and we’ll be getting an extra episode! A 27th ep! Whoa! Alright! We’re ready!

So over on patreon Trevor asked for my take on the Addams Family and I grew up LOVING the Addams family movies so here we are. Instead of doing a straight up style interpretation, I decided to do a full on design challenge, using the characters as bases to make a black southern gothic Addams au. I actually drew the kids first, using the character bases of Wednesday and Pugsley to create some delightful kiddos I'm calling Sunday and Blanche. I of course then redesigned Gomez and Morticia into Carlisle and Mortesha.
The Addams have a very specific high aristocratic goth aesthetic (they've got a butler and nobody really works among other things) so in this re-imagining I wanted to go with vibes that run a little more middle class/upper middle class.  I thought it would be interesting to think about what would be considered weird and off-putting in an entirely different culture, and how being a big ol' goth is way less controversial than it used to be.
I tried to keep this short (HAHAHAHAHAHA) so I didn't spin off into an essay about villain coded families, black people in the horror genre, and normalcy as it pertains to social survival, but just...bits of that are in these designs and lore. Keep that in mind.
Also I made the kids twins because they've flip flopped in age so much in different media and also twins run in my family (i'm the daughter of one). And let's face it, I'm pulling a lot of their southern gothic traits from living as a southern goth so *shrug*.
10 thousand pounds of lore incoming loooooooooool.
The Parents
From the moment he saw her he knew that there was a 50/50 chance of him either never making it out of that swamp alive or marrying the figure that was creeping out from under the distant willow tree in a black cocktail dress. The third time she found him trussed up in one of her traps, he complimented her rope work and asked if she'd like to go out sometime after his head wound stopped bleeding.
Or while it was still bleeding.
If she was into that.
Some kids and a mysteriously burnt down Piggly Wiggly later, their love is still as strong and inescapable as a bear trap in a sink hole.
Carlisle Guillermo (now Addams through marriage but I wanted to give him two first names for a name since Gomez has two last names) makes a vaguely described living practicing ‘law’ around town. A loophole king, people come to him from miles around with contracts signed in blood, fights over chunks of hair buried in their rivals’ yard, dehydrated primate hands, memories that seemed like dreams until the evidence of their happenings became too real, and other regular Legal Items asking for counsel which he is all too happy to give. For a price. Sometimes that price is a homemade pie and sometimes it’s a million dollars, depends on who you are. Whatever you’re asked to pay it’s worth that price, and if you try to scam him out of work or he just plain doesn’t like you? Well. He knows how to twist a contract better than anything at the crossroads.
And he always gets his due.
He doesn’t just serve the local (living)humans though, there are many things that need proper legal representation in this day and age. You wouldn’t believe how many city councils try to build on sacred burial grounds even after he lets them know that his ghostly clients are totally gonna haunt the FUCK out of the ensuing shitty condos and curse their families for all eternity. At least 50% of his energy goes towards dealing with real estate bullshit.
Carl is an excitable and good natured(?) man who loves his family, cigars, dancing, and his many knife-based hobbies. People find him very charming once they get past the feeling that they’re talking to a sultry gator badly disguising itself as a human. I didn’t put a ton of deep thought into designing him, mostly I wanted to make a middle aged dude who looked like he would have been voted ‘most likely to smooch the literal devil’ in high school. Tbh he probably has, but no demonic ex’s can compare to his lovely wife~
Mortesha Addams(her name was already perfect so I just tweaked it)is a woman of many talents. A self proclaimed homemaker, she prides herself on a greenhouse full of Concerning Foliage, a beautiful wasp apiary, and a coop full of what are probably chickens that she keeps for what are probably eggs. She’s also an avid creator of the outsider art that can be seen around the estate. She has taken on the family business of selling her homemade goods in a little stall by the road just outside the swamp with her mom, and makes pretty good money doing so. A surprising amount of poison gets bought in quaint southern towns.
Speaking of poison, people who come out to the edge of the swamp to buy it are usually carrying a lot of secrets around, and Mortesha knows most of them. It’s not like she pries the truth out of people, it just so happens that many nervous hellos eventually turn into the tragic backstory power hour if she’s alone with a client for long enough. She supposes that’s just how people are. Despite the fact that the Addams are very active in the community (whether the community likes it or not) she especially, as a direct descendant of the first Addams matriarch, is seen as…Well not an outsider because the community feels A Certain Way about outsiders and despite it all the Addams are their people, but maybe something like an exception. They feel like whatever weirdness they’re hiding can’t be weirder than any given Addams, so they get a little loose with their words.
This is amusing to her, since Addams’ don’t naturally keep the kind dramatic secrets that their surface level prim and proper neighbors do. It’s much more fun to openly talk about those things.
Do they have a sadly decrepit yet terrifying grandma up in the attic? Yeah, like three. They got a tv, all the creepy porcelain dolls they could want, and they’re close to family. Where do you keep your gram-grams?
Any bodies buried on the property? Yeah some, but most are thrown to the gators.
Any creeping through the balmy summer night with ill intentions? Yeah dude, everyone loves a nice family stroll.
What about dangerous forbidden love? If an adult Addams isn’t incorporeal then they’re either queer or in a torrid romance with some person/thing mysteriously drawn to that awful swamp. Sometimes both at the same time. Most times actually.
Mortesha would know.
The current head of the Addams family is just as outgoing as her husband but a lot quieter and harder to read. She never really seems to get mad about much and always has a genteel smile for everyone whether they deserve it or not. A seven foot tall human shaped “Oh, bless your heart”. A perfectly composed Lady even when she’s, oh I dunno, burning down a Piggly Wiggly. You know. A regular southern mom. Chat her up at the hair salon for 50% off a jar of wasp honey with your next purchase of a mysterious but foreboding packet of herbs.
Designing her was pretty easy because I just drew a lankier Grace Jones and called it a day. I had some problems with her outfit simply because if we were going HARD southern gothic then she’d probably be wearing a white/cream dress with a fuller skirt but I thought keeping the silhouette and the black was more important. She’s supposed to be an anti southern gothic southern gothic character anyway. A woman who looks like she has a million secrets who is actually the most open person you could meet. For better or worse. The red hair came from a coloring error that I really ended up liking (my mom had red hair her whole childhood that only darkened up in high school so I can buy that an Addams can be naturally fire engine red) and the veil was to get more of that classic Morticia silhouette in there.
The Children
Sunday and Blanche are the twin children of Carlisle and Mortesha Addams. Some say the Addams clan got their cursed homestead when a wealthy local businessman made a deal with the devil and lost, leaving his grand mansion to his least favorite maid and cutting his losses once he realized that the swamp would do everything it could to drag the house into the water and take what was owed with its horrible curse. Others say that the family has just always squatted there and no one really cares because man, fuck that particular swamp. Have you been in there? Absolute horror show.
Anyway.
Blanche is the more outgoing sibling and quite the engineer/mad scientist in the making. He started going grey at 2 weeks old but considering he was also rocking some extra fingers, toes, and a tiny tail (he takes after his dad), his parents just put it on the 'not life threatening' pile and decided not to worry about it. He's the kind of smart that teachers find utterly infuriating, less a dog eagerly learning and obeying commands and more a hyena who keeps teaching itself how to pick locks. He has a few friends in his school's robotics club (which they honestly allowed him to make so the school could contain his... creations) but mostly hangs out with his sister exploring the swamp. They find all sorts of neat things in there! wedding rings, suspiciously lumpy garbage bags, cloaked cultists who can't read private property signs, it's an adventure every day!
Blanche is all about experimentation with his creations, his look, and his tether to this mortal coil. Is lipstick a cool thing to try? Let's find out. Can he get out of a strait jacket fast enough after being pushed into the depths of the swamp by his sister? let's find out. He's not dead yet and confused local doctors can attest to the fact that he's rarely attained more than a bad bruise so he's pretty set on continuing to kiss rattlesnakes on their cute little heads and have his sister practice her knife throwing at him until that fact changes.
Blanche is very much a country goth. Cowboy boots (customized by his mom), knife, and lighter are daily accessories. He likes to wear the crusty swamp jewelry they find (the rust adds a splash of color!) and despite appearances he does try to keep himself neat. He's just got  natural Grunge Colors and a tendency to wear clothes he likes until they fall apart. Pugsley always seemed the most modernly styled to me (which might just be because little boys clothes have been the same for a long time) so I wanted Blanche to be the most purposely fashionable Addams. Everyone else is goth by nature, but he's the only one truly familiar with goth as an alternative fashion.
I got really into designing Blanche because honestly, I find Pugsley to be the most boring member of the family. And he was hard to design! I had to mess with his vibe a lot to get him looking how I wanted. I know he's supposed to evoke an " 'evil' little boy next door who's parents never reign him in", but that's just goth Dennis The Menace.  I's 2020. We can at least go queer goth Calvin.
Sunday was much easier to design. Wednesday was my favorite as a child (of course) and I really wanted to keep the spirit of her look while adding things like billowy sleeves (it gets HOT down here), big poofy twists instead of braids, and a nice tie. She's a professional after all, been running the local pet cemetery since she was 6 and the previous groundskeeper met with an unfortunate accident after telling her that tarantulas don't have souls. Her specialty is creating beautiful naturalistic animal funerals similar to those that Maquenda (https://linktr.ee/artofmaquenda) makes, and she takes pride in creating miniature dioramas of her subjects after each burial which she uses as a kind of 3D catalog for future clients.
She really wants to try out her skills on humans one day. Well. Publicly try out her skills. Lotta random bodies float into the swamp. None of them have turned down her requests for diorama models so far. Most seem downright flattered. Plus, she usually figures out which graveyard/crime scene they floated over from and gets her parents to give them a lift back. She'll even help enact terrifying revenge from beyond the grave on whoever put them there if she's not, y'know, busy.
Besides arts, crafts, and pet based funerary arrangements, Sunday is an avid lover of archery (any ranged weapon really), books where little fantasy adventure animals die dramatic deaths, and history. She is That Kid who eagerly raises her hand when asked who Christopher Columbus was and ends up being sent out of class after 15 minutes for making 'a scene'. Her favorite party trick is just picking an item in the room and talking about how it relates to either some obscure historical figure with a buck wild life or a horrible disaster. At least one charity pancake breakfast ended with children in tears after her vivid description of the Great Molasses Flood of 1919.
Social-wise, while Wednesday is the girl that people ask to smile because they think she'd, "look so pretty", Sunday is rarely asked anything at all. People just kind of assume from her quiet nature (in between horrible history facts) that she's angry all the time and that she hates everyone. This is untrue. She hates some people but she's ambivalent to most everyone else and even downright friendly if you bother to talk to her like a person instead of a terrifying cryptid. Like, she IS a terrifying cryptid but she's also a little girl.
That’s about it for now. One day I might do the other family members but for now I’m happy with the four I’ve redesigned. Making an au! Lurch in a family that doesn’t do butlers could be interesting. Over on patreon I put forth that he could just be Motesha’s mute little brother (similar bone structure) but Amy Crook had the nice idea of quote: “ a mysterious "cousin" that "helps around the house" whose origins are both long in the past and faintly unsettling. He's good for lifting heavy things, like that tank of propane you're about to throw into the burning Piggly Wiggly... “ which i now consider canon. Who's kid is he? How old is he? Not important. Anyone willing to commit arson with you is family.
Annnnyway.  This challenge was a lot of fun! I love indulging in AU’s.

Albus Dumbledore is the worst.
Albus Dumbledore was written to be a hero, and that's what makes him such a good villain. Almost everyone in the Wizarding World trusted him and thought he was so incredible and amazing, but in reality, he was playing a brilliant game of chess, using them all as his pawns.
How? Let's start from the beginning with Tom Riddle.
Dumbledore first met Tom when he was eleven, and even then, you could see the warning signs. Dumbledore did too. He saw that Tom was dangerous and unstable, and Dumbledore, being Dumbledore, wanted to give him a chance at Hogwarts.
But, Dumbledore, also, being Dumbledore, was the only one who saw who Tom really was, and only "kept an annoyingly close watch on him." He saw Tom Riddle, at the age of eleven saying "I can make bad things happen to people who annoy me. I can make them hurt if I want," and did not think to do anything about it.
He said to Harry in Chamber of Secrets that, "help will be given at Hogwarts to those who ask for it," yet, here we have Tom Riddle, who desperately needed help, and did not get it. Could Dumbledore have prevented Tom Riddle from becoming who he was? I'm not sure. Could he have helped him more while he was at Hogwarts? 100%
Next up, Sirius (and a bit of Remus)
One thing I never understood while reading the books was why Sirius had to spend twelve years in Azkaban when there were literally potions that forced you to tell the truth.
The truth is, unsurprisingly, Dumbledore wanted him there. By keeping Sirius in Azkaban, there was no way he could adopt Harry (who was legally his), and ruin Dumbledore's perfectly thought out plan of manipulating Harry. Dumbledore was a high-ranking member of the Wizengamot, if he managed to get Snape off, he surely could've gotten Sirius free too.
But unlike Snape, and Remus, and Hagrid, and Harry, Dumbledore couldn't use Sirius. Remus was a werewolf with no job prospects in the Wizarding World, and no Muggle qualifications either. He spent twelve years alone, as he watched his friends die or get sent to Azkaban. But then here comes Dumbledore, who gives him a job and a home when no one else would. And suddenly, Remus is loyal to Dumbledore.
Hagrid, a half-giant, was kicked out of Hogwarts in his third year for something he didn't do. But Dumbledore comes along and suddenly Hagrid has a home and job, and owes it to Dumbledore, ensuring his loyalty.
Even Snape, Dumbledore saved him from a lifetime in Azkaban prison, securing his loyalty too.
But Sirius, Sirius was different. He saw right through Dumbledore and his manipulation. He was a rebel and chose his path. A path that didn't involve Dumbledore, which is why he was stuck in Azkaban for twelve years, despite him being innocent. Because him being around would've messed up Dumbledore's plan to raise Harry to die, because there is no way in hell that Sirius would've allowed that to happen.
Finally, Harry Potter, himself.
Harry escaped death at the age of one and then was essentially kidnapped by Hagrid on Dumbledore's orders. While there's no proof, surely James and Lily would've written a will, especially considering they were living through a war with their son being the target for the greatest dark wizard of all time. I believe that Dumbledore pulled some strings (because remember, he was a member of the Wizengamot, and despite not holding the title of Minister for Magic, he was as good as, especially considering how incompetent they were), so he could be in charge of Harry's living arrangements and manipulate him further. Sirius Black was his legal guardian, being godfather and all, and yet Hagrid had "orders from Dumbledore," so he got stuck with the Dursleys.
Harry grew up in this abusive home where he was unwanted, neglected, and bullied, so when he eventually finds out about the Wizarding World, he sees it as a home, a safe haven, away from the Dursleys. He feels grateful to the Wizarding World for saving him from them. And when he has to go back at the beginning of summer, it's a reminder that it can all be taken away, so when Harry has to sacrifice himself to save the world he's come to love so much, of course, he does! Because why wouldn't he? It's his home.
Dumbledore could've left Harry with Remus, or the Weasley's, or the Longbottom's, or literally any other family, but the Dursley's made Harry easiest to manipulate.
And before anyone mentions Lily's blood wards, Dumbledore says in Order of the Phoenix: "You need return there only once a year, but as long as you can still call it home, there he cannot hurt you."
There was no reason for Harry to grow up in an abusive household, isolated from the Wizarding World, but it made Harry an easier pawn to manipulate in Dumbledore's game.
Similarly, when Harry is in school, he rewards Harry's saviour complex through house points. In Philosopher's Stone, the trio very clearly go against McGonagall's orders and put themselves in dangerous situations to 'save the day.' But instead of facing any punishment, they are rewarded via the House Cup, and Dumbledore is buying Harry's loyalty.
It's always Harry being the one to put himself into dangerous situations, never Dumbledore. Chamber of Secrets, Harry and Ginny both nearly die, but oh, thanks to Dumbledore's phoenix the day is saved! But wait, wasn't Dumbledore there the first time the Chamber was opened? Was there nobody else in the entire Wizarding World who could fix this mess, without having to rely on a twelve-year-old???
Prisoner of Azkaban. Why were Harry and Hermione the ones to rescue Sirius? Why couldn't Dumbledore do it himself? Goblet of Fire. You're telling me the 'most powerful wizard in the world' couldn't break the magical contract? In all honesty, he probably could, but he said it himself, he wanted to see what would happen. He was using Harry as bait. McGonagall seems to be the only person who cares about this poor boy's life. And then we have Order of the Phoenix. Where Dumbledore isolates himself from Harry, gets Snape to teach him Occlumency instead of doing it himself, which leads to Sirius's death, which I believe was planned (to an extent).
And at the end of Order of the Phoenix, Dumbledore comes 'clean,' saying that the reason he ghosted Harry for the entire year, was because 'he cared for him too much.' That he cared more about Harry's happiness than the safety of others, that he put Harry's life above the life of innocent people. He was telling Harry, who watched his godfather die in front of him, and blamed himself for it, that him being happy would lead to the deaths of others. Dumbledore's exact quote was, "What did I care if numbers of nameless and faceless people and creatures were slaughtered in the vague future, if in the here and now you were alive, and well, and happy." And of course, Dumbledore said this, because he knows Harry has a tendency to sacrifice himself for others, and as a result, he'll choose to die when the time comes.
Dumbledore kept Harry's inevitable death from him for sixteen years, five while he was at Hogwarts. And guess what? By this point, Harry was wrapped so tightly around Dumbledore's little finger, and wouldn't say no even if he could.
Harry Potter was raised like a pig for slaughter, by a man he trusted. And this makes me so angry. Harry Potter was seventeen when he walked into the forest alone, more than willing to die. He was seventeen when he and his friends fought in a war against people twice their age. He was seventeen when he saw some of those friends for the last time, watched them die fighting a war that none of them had seen the start of.
He was fifteen when he watched his godfather die before him, and blamed himself for it. He was fourteen when he watched Cedric Diggory die at the hand of Voldemort. He was twelve when he had to fight a basilisk and Tom Riddle single-handedly while trying to save himself and eleven-year-old Ginny Weasley. He was eleven and having to find and protect the Philosopher's Stone, the first 'test' of many. He was a child battling an adult's war, with no choice in the matter.
Dumbledore manipulated them all, so he could get children to fight his battles for him.

Zuko Centric-Morality and the Fire Nation
Often times it seems within ATLA’s narrative whether Fire Nation characters are “good people” is determined by how nice they are to Zuko or how nice they are to people who are nice to Zuko, not by any of their other actions.  This is definitely true with respect to fanon and within the the fanbase.
There are four Fire Nation characters which violate this rule, notably with three of them being from Book 1. These are clearly good people, and are presented as such, without having a real connection to Zuko or Iroh.  They are Piandao, Jeong Jeong, Shyu, and Chey.
However, beyond that a certain pattern becomes clear.  Iroh inflicted decades of imperial violence upon the world and isn’t being very proactive about stopping imperial violence in the present(he even gives Zhao good military advice during Zhao’s attempt to conquer the Northern Water Tribe!). He’s nice to Zuko, so from the beginning(long before his White Lotus connections were added) he was always presented as a “good” person, and the fanbase thinks of him as perfect.
Lt. Jee and Zuko’s crew become respectful and nice to Zuko once they find out about Zuko’s backstory, so they’re presented sympathetically and as “good people” from that point onward, and Lt. Jee tends to be positively depicted in the fanfics where he shows up.  Never mind that helping Zuko at that point involved inflicting imperial violence on world...
Zuko and Iroh loved Lu Ten, and I believe we’re supposed to believe that Lu Ten loved Iroh and Zuko back and was kind to them.  Lu Ten is framed entirely sympathetically, and in fanfiction he’s almost always presented as “a good person.” Never mind that he was an adult soldier who died fighting in an imperial war of aggression.
Ursa laughs at the thought of Ba Sing Se burning to the ground, and if we look at her original intended backstory, it becomes clear that she must have supported the war. The decision she made to murder Azulo and support Ozai coup is also responsible for the Big Bad of the series being in power, although she didn’t exactly have good choices there. Yet, because she was a good mother to Zuko, she’s almost always considered a good person by the fanbase, and the narrative frames her as angelic.
Ming, the guard who was nice to Iroh, is almost always presented positively in the few fanfics she shows up in(maybe one of the reasons she’s so kind to him is because she thinks very positively of his achievements as Dragon of the West? That would be an interesting take).
Mai commits treason to save Zuko’s life and is generally kind to him, so she’s “a good person” and not a morally grey character according to the narrative and fanbase, even though she voluntary joined up with Azula for her own enjoyment and regarded engaging in imperial conquest as an enjoyable hobby.  Definitely there are very few fanfics which grapple with what she did during the war and why she did it.
Ty Lee is always nice to Zuko, at least in their two canon interactions in the present. More importantly, she commits treason to protect Mai, who committed treason to protect Zuko. That marks her as “a good person” in the eyes of the narrative and fanbase, even though Ty Lee was clearly shown as having a blast helping Azula engage in imperial conquest.  Like with Mai, there are very few fanfics which grapple with what she did during the war and why she did it. Remember, the Dangerous Ladies conquered Ba Sing Se together(and with Zuko’s help, of course).
On the other side, we have Ozai and Zhao, who are mean and awful to Zuko and are painted as evil for it. In fact, the thing what really confirms their awfulness in the eyes of audience is how mean they are to Zuko, not any of the other heinous stuff they did.  We also have Azula, a younger sister who made the unforgivable mistake of being nearly as mean to her older brother as he was to her.
It’s funny, though. On one hand we have Zuko, Piandao, Jeong Jeong, Shyu, and Chey. These are people who had to fully come to terms with how awful the Fire Nation actions are and how their own actions aided the Fire Nation’s war of conquest as part of the process of becoming good people. If I’m generous, I might throw Iroh into this pile.
On the other hand, we have Lt. Jee, Lu Ten, Ursa, Ming, Mai, and Ty Lee.  These are “good people,” according to the narrative and particularly the fandom, because they were nice to Zuko or Iroh, even though they played their own roles in perpetuating the Fire Nation’s imperial war and never came to terms with it.
Dare I mention that many Azula “redemption” fanfics center entirely on her becoming a better sister to Zuko? Dare I mention that the head writer of ATLA’s ideas for an Azula redemption arc seems to center around Azula becoming a better sister to Zuko and a nicer person, not with her coming to terms with the Fire Nation’s imperialism?
It seems like ATLA’s narrative and fandom suffers from a case of deuteragonist-centered morality. Which is funny, because for the first two and a half seasons Zuko was a villain and “being nice to him” or “being kind to him” would frequently involve helping him do bad things, or at least allowing him to bad things.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
life is full of ups and downs downs downs downs dow
loredump under the cut. not kidding when I say its gonna be long!
oh shit you actually clicked keep reading thank you for your interest 😭😭😭
YOU KNOW THE DRILL tw // suggestive dont read ahead if youre uncomfortable with the topic of aphrodisiacs!
MIDDLE SCHOOL
Tumblr media
before anything, I gotta explain he was born to parents who had an infatuation quirk (makes them hardcore fall in love with you) and an infection quirk (transmits a virus via saliva)
developed his quirk late, since they usually get it by the time kids are four
most people knew him as quirkless before the first incident
in middle school, his class was preparing for a school play, he and his classmate got cast as the main lead prince and princess
coincidentally, they both had a crush on each other and had a scene where they kissed
technically they weren’t supposed to, since its just a play, but one time they were practicing in private and wanted to try kissing “for real”
so they shared a super giggly cute middle school first kiss but well UNFORTUNATELY FOR HIM HIS QUIRK HAD WELL DEVELOPED–
Tumblr media
BADABING BADABOOM YOU HAVE AN IMAGINATION USE IT
the only way for the quirk’s effects to go away is to come at least once or pleasuring yourself until it goes away
I DO NOT WANT TO IMAGINE IT BUT. IMAGINE BEING A TEACHER AND FINDING A MIDDLE SCHOOLER WHO DOES NOT KNOW WHAT IS HAPPENING TO HER AND AN ADULT IS FORCED TO TELL HER HOW TO MAKE IT GO AWAY LLLLIKE–
rip now that I’m thinking abt it, I don’t even think anybody would even kNOW HOW TO MAKE IT GO AWAY so lets imagine she painfully stays that way until they figure out how to make it stop :^(
there’s a big fight that happens between the teachers, principal, and parents of both parties
of course the crush’s parents got mad and called their kid a fuckin uhhhhh sexual predator or some shit despite also beING THE SAME AGE AND NOT EVEN KNOWING ABT HIS OWN QUIRK LIKE HELLLO
Tumblr media
obviously an incident like this is going to spread like wildfire but the principal does not want something like this to leak, especially since it was not on purpose and was a total accident
the other kid’s parents and some teachers did not feel comfortable however, and sato was forced to drop out
but not wanting to spread the gossip about their son’s quirk and the incident, they leave the town and move someplace else
thankfully, the principal gives the sato family his good grades and a recommendation to a decent highschool for the trouble
they’re originally from osaka, but moved to tokyo
this is where they start taking precautions with sato, basically teaching him to be careful with his saliva
it was easily taught and learned esp since the mom was already like that around him and others everyday anyway!! she has to take care of her saliva-based infection quirk, after all
HIGH SCHOOL
Tumblr media
he got enrolled into a regular highschool in tokyo
no hero course, no support course, no business, just a regular ol’ school
if before, he loved surrounding himself with people, this was where he was forced to develop a lonely disposition to protect himself and others
at least his parents were very protective and supportive of him and they were generally a happy family!
but in school, pretending to be quirkless was just as difficult, getting bullied or pitied for having no special abilities
his excuse for wearing a mask all the time was because his mother had a virus-related quirk, and had to be careful
Tumblr media
one day his dad was suddenly got really, really sick
the more he had an excuse to wear a mask because he didnt want to get whatever disease his father started to develop
sato started thinking it could be his mother (but why?) the results didn’t say anything about an unknown virus killing him (which is his mom’s quirk), and that his father really did contract a strong yet very normal disease
while on his second year in highschool, his father, yozo sato, died
Tumblr media
apparently, without him knowing anything about his parents, his mother, oba sato, was actually under the dad’s infatuation quirk this whole time
she realised she wasn’t really in love with him when oba had accidentally allowed a drop of her saliva to fall into the meal she was making him, making him sick, and therefore making him weak enough to deactivate his quirk on her
oba, back in her college years, wanted to marry someone else but yozo, who had a crush on her wanted her to himself, used his quirk to make him fall in love with her
so in revenge for making her put up with him all these years to the point of marriage and having a kid, she continued to do this to his food
her quirk doesn’t make anybody sick enough to die, but it made her husband’s immune system weak enough to the point that it contracted a real, serious disease which he ended up dying from instead
sato only finds out the real story when he graduates from highschool, days right after his graduation the mom confesses it all
she does say she truly loves him, but can’t stay around him knowing he was technically “unconsensual love”
sato gets reminded of what his quirk does, and true enough, that’s what him and his quirk turned out to be (a sick combination of his mom and his dad)
they cant bear to be around each other after that revelation and decide to just not see each other again
COLLEGE YEARS
Tumblr media
he enrolls into an education course, inspired by the kind principal who helped him finish his middleschool-highschool education when it all started going downhill
sato struggles paying for his college fees esp since he doesn’t exactly have his parents supporting him anymore, nor any contact with immediate family
he has a lot of part time jobs that go all around the clock, he continues pretending to be quirkless so he gets bullied, and has to deal with all that emotional baggage plus being alone so…….clearly my man is TIRED as hell
his side job hustles include: convenience store cashier, bookstore attendant, bar bouncer, and rookie gym trainer (he went to the local gym long enough for him to get recommended a job as a trainer)
college was that point where he starts developing a hardcore yearning for a companion because oh my god hes so lonELY (but cant)
ANYWAY SO
there’s this bully guy who always picks on him in college (for being “quirkless” and a loner and overall a fuckin weirdo with a mask)
tbh sato doesnt really give a shit he’s so used to it but he doesnt have his mother as an excuse to wear the mask anymore, this is where he starts forming the “I have bad breath” excuse
“口臭い” (kuchi kusai) translates to “bad breath” or “stinky mouth” so sato unlovingly gets nicknamed “kusato”
Tumblr media
one day he’s walking around the campus at night and finds the bully with his gang cornering another quirkless student, with plans of assaulting her
sato was never the hero type, and was about to ignore the commotion as to not get involved, but something in him moved on its own and he found himself face to face with the gang
he confronts them, but the bully mocks both him and the girl for not having powers to stop them anyway
SIKE BITCH sato’s able to easily strike the other two guys, knock them off their feet enough to be able to tug the to-be victim aside, telling her to report them, before asking her to run away as fast as she can
none of the guys want that (they’re all students) so they have a full on brawl (and this isnt hero academy, its a totally normal university so I wouldn’t assume these guys had very impressive quirks)
except the main bully actually has a pretty decent quirk (he’s like a kinda half human half dragon with sharp claws, scales, and dragon eyes) and gets to injure sato with his sharp claws, seriously injuring his face
a part of his ear is also sort of sliced off, which is how his mask gets accidentally removed in the process
the dragon bully grabs him by the collar and starts angrily shouting at him for ruining his night, being able to do all this shit without a quirk and all and all other derogatory speech
“Well? what do you have to say for yourself?!“
Sato stays silent before spitting right into the bully’s mouth
The bully drops him immediately, about to angrily fuck him up for doing something super fucking gross but WHOOP WHOOP YOU KNOW WHATS BOUTTA HAPPEN the quirk works immediately and the bully is a TOTAL MESS on the ground
Im going to TLDR this part cos its…obviously nsfw but like: sato fully embarrasses him in public (beside the bully’s two colleges nonetheless)
Tumblr media
sato stays in the hospital for some time to heal from his wounds
fortunately, afterwards, the bullies all get expelled
unfortunately for sato, he also gets expelled for engaging in bad behaviour, and the bully did say what happened to him (and the college principal did not want his…dangerous quirk on campus) so as to lower any incident, all four were expelled
at least without having to pay for college fees anymore, he could fully focus on paying for food, shelter, and clothes
minus of course the hospital bills needed to pay plus he got a sick ass scar from it anyway HAHAHAHA BSDJHJRHDHF
ADULT LIFE
Tumblr media
he had a lot of jobs here and there, but was more or less doing best as a trainer at a local gym where people weren’t allowed to use their quirks and strengthen their body regularly
a few years went by and he eventually shrugged off everything that happened in his final college years but one day someone familiar walked into the gym! It was the fellow college student he saved!!!
she became a policewoman who wanted to get stronger in this quirkless friendly gym and hadn’t given up on her dreams of being a “hero,” inspired by how sato saved her that day
sato never really saw himself as some hero, he was left many nights alone thinking about how easily he could become a villain with his quirk, so hearing that really made him happy
he trains her as her gym coach and she eventually asks him to join her patrol this small part of the city from a gang that was currently going around doing crimes since he’s good at it anyway, saying she could use some extra hands hehe
so yeah!! he does this side gig with her where he patrols alongside her looking for gang crimes and such c:
AND ONE DAY. [WISTFUL SIGH] ONE DAY. HE FINDS SOMEBODY GETTING MUGGED BY A GANG MEMBER AND SAVES………A CERTAIN MAN–
thank you for reading all the way here!!!
feel free to ask for questions or for any clarifications 😭😭😭!!!!!!

Clark Kent
Tumblr media
You know he’s superman, therefore, you gotta expect the unexpected
Kiss: Level 100
helping him keep his identity secret isn’t always easy-
you wanna kiss him even when he’s superman but fuck you need him to remain undetected
but you manage
Little hc of the first few months after getting married:
Clark comes home late after a fight you see on tv
you turned it off before anything else happened, too worried already
he’s beat up
your eyes are red and puffy with tear stained cheeks as you stand and cross your arms.
you bet your ass there were cuddles that night.
Later into the marriage, he still scares you like that, but you’ve grown somewhat used to it and wipe the tears away
He’s protective of you too though
Aight sorry, but the gif is making me addicted to Henry kisses so Imma say it again,
best fucking make out sessions ever
yes, I’m gonna say that for all four.
fuck it, Clark!Kisses HCs
they’re soft half the time, needy the other half
if he comes home from superman duties or you have a run-in with a villain, so on so on, his kisses are rougher, needier, more possessive
bitch, he just needs you to know he’s still alive 🥺😢
Henry in glasses really do be hittin tho.
Stealing his glasses
Calling him a nerd because of the glasses
Probably making it a small joke about superman
Especially with oblivious friends
“I think superman’s a nerd.” “why??” “I just do.”
Having to stifle your laughs every time someone gushes about superman in front of him
Clark has to hold you back so you don’t unleash your wrath of fucking doom upon some oblivious woman who wrote about superman in a news article
She wrote things that would make you jealous, like talking about how she’s curious to his personal life *wink wink* and stuff- you don’t just have a raging fury because someone writes about him
Superman this hoe
You’ve made jokes about how he has to take his ring off when he’s superman, but he’s got a feeling that you’re actually not kidding at all
Exercising with Clark
Cursing him out in breathy pants for being more athletic and cheating with his “alien powers”
he just laughs at you
Ah, the difficulty have having a husband with two identities
When you rant about your husband, it’s so hard not to fuck up and say something about being married to Superman
Forgetting that you’re one of the few who knows his identity
Basking in pride because you’re one of the few who knows his identity
One time, Clark forgot to take his ring off and the person he rescued had known him personally.
He asks where he got the ring-
“What ring?”
“The one on your finger. The wedding ring.”
It felt like his stomach dropped...if that makes sense-
Clark ended up making some random story about finding it on the same plane the guy he rescued was on and that he put it on so he wouldn’t lose it.
The guy still thought he was pretty sus, “why was it on your wedding ring finger then?” but let him off after some time
The guy gave it back to Clark in person, but you had no idea what happened,
so when he gave him the ring, you were watching with the most confused look Clark had ever seen
thankfully, he played it off well and informed you later
He forgot to take off his wedding ring? You “secretly” fist bumped the air- ...he totally saw you though
Geralt Of Rivia
Tumblr media
I don’t think Geralt really expected to get married
Jaskier didn’t either-
He’s the only one who stands when the priest asks if anyone doesn’t accept... only to ask how the fuck Geralt got lucky enough to get you
Everyone laughed but Geralt, he just grunted and looked away with a lil’ bit o pink tinting his cheeks
You demand he lets you go on adventures with him
You also wash him after adventures
wink wonk ;)))
Geralt is a stubborn thing
You’re a stubborn thing
Y’all love each other
When I say that Geralt is a confusing husband-
I mean that he confuses the fuck out of you
“don’t do that”
“okay”
few minutes later
“I thought you were doing that-”
“You told me not too...?”
“I don’t recall. Do whatever.”
Minutes later.
“What the fuck!?! Don’t do that!”
He’s hard to read and it bugs you
However, it makes a good game out of it
If he ever introduces you as anything but his spouse, you hold a bitter glare while internally plotting
Before you marry, Jaskier hits on you without realizing that Geralt is interested in you
He gulps nervously as soon as it hits him
You might just use that mistake as a way to get back at Geralt for not saying you’re his spouse
Jaskier pleads you not to
like for real
He’s in tears
CuDdLeS!
Congrats, you have a stubborn manbaby for the rest of however long y’all shall live
Kithes
Geralt is a little distant when it comes to admitting his feelings for you at first
When you’re dating, you’re all over each other
Marriage is that but amplified lmao
Braiding his hair
Teasing him not the wink wonk and getting away with it because you’re his spouse
If Jaskier said anything remotely close to the shit you’ve said, Geralt would probably choke him out
But then resuscitate him cause they’re bros
Seeing the softer side of Geralt
Sure, sex, but getting to know each others bodies? Yes.
Soft!Sleepy!Geralt
His deep n husky morning voice telling you to “get your ass back in bed”
Having the excuse of “because I’m his spouse” anytime you do stuff people are too afraid to do
Jealous bb 1 and jealous bb 2 aka Geralt and Y/n
I think Geralt’s the kind of guy to just pick you up, ignore your flailing limbs, and move you out of the way
He takes shit from no one...well, from you SOMETIMES
Gives in to your requests with a sigh and roll of his eyes most of the time
He was protective of you at first
now he’s PrOtEcTiVe so uh
Basically, number one husband, number two bodyguard
you put yourself first for the bodyguard part, but Geralt doesn’t know that
Sherlock Holmes
Tumblr media
He asks your family for their blessing, then asks you-
I can imagine Mycroft just ranting away and Sherlock drops to his knee
“What are you doing?”
He ignores his brother and proposes to you
Mycroft is confused and upset because he wanted to rant about meaningless things and Sherlock decided to change the topic
rude
Being married means constant visits from Enola
Probably being the “second parents” to Enola
Gossip with Enola and Eudoria about Sherlock and him as a kiddo
Kicking Sherlock out of the house for sleepovers with his sister
bet
Helping Sherlock with cases
Dealing with Sherlock telling you it isn’t safe
still being upset when he’s right you know it
Finding Enola and Eudoria with him
Snapping at Mycroft for how he treats the girl and everyone else
Threatening Mycroft by just being a badass bitch and telling him to fuck off every now and then
Long story short, you make Enola laugh and Mycroft scoff as he walks away
He’s a stubborn bean, which now that I think about it- aren’t all Henry’s characters?
While he doesn’t say it much, he loves you
You get paranoid with this character too, as he does work that can be very dangerous as well
When he returns, he doesn’t say much aside from that he’s there now and that he loves you
cuddles with him whispering softly,
“I’m here now.” “I’m safe.” “I’m okay.” “I love you.”
Kisses in public either be quick pecks or minute long for goodbyes, but greetings-
especially after being apart for a while?
HC TIME
He comes home on the train and you’re at the station with his siblings
As soon as he spots you, he sets his stuff down because you’re already running at him
You jump into his arms and kiss him hard, not caring in the slightest about the other people at the station
It makes you smile every time he introduces you as his spouse
You’ve heard it so many times yet it still makes your heart flutter every single time
Napoleon Solo
Tumblr media
The amount of times you’ve just dropped everything and walked away because he was being ‘too serious”-
You say something, he takes it seriously, you groan and stomp away
But then you know you can do the same back to him
Napoleon is an all around awesome husband but he’s not going to just pretend to agree with stuff
Will correct you no matter how embarrassed you get
Makes up with kisses or stuff idk
Let me be honest, I don’t know much about writing for Napoleon but he is an icon...sometimes
He’s protective
by that I mean he’s stubborn but really it’s his way of keeping you safe
Would probably lock you in your room even though you’re a, a grown ass adult, and b, his spouse for fuck’s sake?!??!
Doesn’t tell you when something’s bothering him unless he feels the need to
“I’m not a fucking mind-reader, Solo!”
“Neither am I but I still manage-”
He doesn’t mean to make you feel bad, he just- emotions and him aren’t the best of friends
Emotions aren’t exactly friends with most of his characters
He’d much rather just speak with actions than admit anything
Sometimes you worry that he’s just fucking with you
When he proposed, it scared the shit out of you ‘cause you thought it was a joke
Never admits to anything willingly...?
Yeah sorry...Idk, that’s all I got :\
