world of my own - kwon soonyoung
track 001 - “you ever wonder what couldve happened if what hadnt happened, happened?”
pairing ; best friends kwon soonyoung x fem reader
genre ; romance, (kinda?) angst, unreciprocated love, starcrossed lovers, right person wrong time, multiverse, very very VERY vaguely inspired by alice in wonderland (and kindaa in a way wandavision)
warnings ; swearing, y/n daydreams a lot, too little too late 😞😞
wordcount ; 1.2k
synopsis ; in a place which you fall into your own dreamland with the one who was meant to be the love of your life, the discussion gets highly theoretical (and not to mention, emotional)
note - counterfactual thinking whoo cz im minoring in econ wooo
read below the cut !
youd be lying if you said you hadnt thought of him in that way.
i mean, how could you not?
kwon soonyoung. he’s perfect inside and out. such a sweetheart, kindest person you’d ever met.
but, he had been rather distant lately.
it was almost a miracle he reached out to you.
of course, you were curious as to why, especially since it was so out of the blue. but you held your tongue.
so, he called you out to your favorite park, sitting under the big willow tree you two always spent the summers under when you were much younger, counting the stars and watching the hours tick by.
the tree was so old now, seeing as it had been around long before both of your guys’ parents were.
soonyoung jumped up from his spot to greet you with a nice hug, “glad you came.” he said as he pressed his lips into a smile.
“course i did. we’re meant to stay together arent we?”
he sat down on the blanket which lined up with the old tree trunk, resting his back up against it.
a few moments of silence passed before you spoke up.
“why did you call me here?” you queried as you examined the tree, brushing your fingers over the now faint initials both you and soonyoung carved into the trunk.
“just wanted to spend time with you, genuinely. i know ive been distant and i can’t make up for the time wasted, but i can end the pattern now, you know.”
“id doubt you’d call me here of all places just to ‘talk’.” you scoffed.
“just missed you is all.” he mumbled as he pulled you into a side hug, letting his head rest in the space between your shoulder and neck.
“missed you too. more than youd realize.” you replied back, keeping the last bit to yourself.
though you grew distant despite being inseparable until two years ago, you could never grow a grudge against him.
so you thought.
but, here you two were. spending the day talking under that same tree just like how you spent most of your childhood.
you caught each other up through a recap of your last few years, until sundown, when soonyoung asked of a pretty theoretical question.
“you ever wonder what couldve happened if what hadnt happened, happened?”
you stared blankly at him, blinking mindlessly.
you were still like that for a good few seconds, before muttering a quick “what?”.
“do you ever think about what couldve happened if things were different between us?” he rephrased.
“oh. as much as id hate to admit it, i do. or did. imagining about what could and couldnt be. but the past is in the past, and what happened can’t be undone.” you explained to soonyoungs curious eyes.
“what did you imagine we could’ve been?” he asked so nonchalantly, with little to no hesitation required.
“what?”
“in a world where things worked out, what couldve happened to you and me?” soonyoung asked once more.
“i..” you droned off.
“you don’t have to answer now,” he began with a soothing voice, “just think about it. and tell me what happens when we wake up.”
with that, soonyoung laid his back directly onto the ground with his folded up sweater to act as a pillow.
he pulled you to rest on his chest, wrapping an arm tight around your waist.
you tried getting up, only to be pulled back down. “soonyoung..”
“please? stay with me just this once.”
“i have to go.”
“just one more time before i have to leave for good? i don’t know when ill get to see you next. i don’t know where we’ll stand after today.”
you sighed in defeat, before sitting back down and resting into soonyoungs chest once more.
“just this once..” you mumbled, before drifting off into your indefinite state of slumber.
“in a world where things worked out, what couldve happened to you and me?”
soonyoungs words continuously ran across your mind, coursing through your thoughts endlessly, even in your sleep.
you were always quite the heavy sleeper, it was no wonder your dreams were always so realistic you slept the way you did.
you were much aware of the multiverse, as was soonyoung. the topic alone always intrigued you, the possibility of endless scenarios playing out in your mind; and the fact they could be real, yet only in another universe
the thought of dreaming in this world while being awake in another terrified you, but intriguing in the same sense.
every time you drift off into an indefinite slumber, you realize how much you’ve taken for granted in life after seeing the cruel reality thats shown only through dreams, watching your greatest desires be taken out of your reach every time you awake.
“in a world where things worked out, what couldve happened to you and me?”
“in a world where things worked out, what couldve happened to you and me?”
the words repeated over an over throughout the duration your dream. a good one, but too vivid, it was almost cruel the feeling you felt once you realized it wasnt real.
you and soonyoung were the perfect couple. you were happy and it seemed nothing could go wrong, you were in a serious, long lasting, and healthy relationship.
everything was perfect, it was everything you could ever ask for and more.
he was everything you could ask for and way more.
you don’t think you’ve ever been so happy.
however, that would only happen in a world of your own.
a world where you could be happy.

Okey there's compared between Wanda action in age of ultron with sylvie in Loki season 2. The compared was about when they see the situation becoming bad.
Let's recap ultron in half of planning, then Wanda knowing what ultron want to do, she horrified not for herself but everyone then she trying stop ultron because even she in vengeful state to Avengers she no want everyone dead (about what happened in Johannesburg it's another thing that let's put a side for this discussion)
And then sylvie, Loki literally said there's will be problem because she kill her and sylvie saw the loom too that about explose that elwill ending all multiverse, she still not care about the disaster that on going, she started care when her McDonalds timeline was gone in front of her face when she literally being warned about consequence what she did
You see this compared? Which one actually care about other and which one that really selfish.
Oh btw while I still feel weird that Wanda just immediately join avenger after what she did, Wanda got her consequence her country was gone and her brother was dead. And sylvie? What consequence she got? Her McDonalds was gone but she still have tampad to go wherever she want, and she look Happy, there's no pain on her face or remorse.
I've made this whole point before
~Wanda, both in Age of Ultron and WandaVision, was presented with a choice. Your wants and feelings vs the well-being of others and, both times, Wanda chooses others. Sylvie is given that choice and she chooses herself.~
My defense of Wanda is not to say she is justified, a hero or even not selfish. My point is just that she's not evil and even if she never gets punished, she does face consequences. The Avengers don't trust in at first in AoU, she has to live on the run after CA;CW, everyone in Westview hates her and she doesn't get anything she wanted. Those are consequences. No one reacts to Sylvie like the person who murdered a bunch of their colleagues. No one calls her out on causing the mess that now has to be delt with. In the end she just gets everything she wants, and Loki gets nothing and she smiles and walks off like it's nothing.
As I have to make clear did not watch season 2. So, may not the full context, but it honestly doesn't sound like Sylvie did anything. I'm also unclear if the timelines came back or they just hopped to a new one. But either way, Sylvie only cares about herself and if it is the latter and Sylvie it shows she truly didn't even care about the people there, she just liked playing house and the people around her were disposable. In contrast to Wanda who did love her family it did have that basic human empathy for the people in Westview. Waldron doesn't write his suppose hero, Sylvie much different than he does when he writes Wanda as a villain, just saying.

haunting thoughts on hope is a dangerous thing for a woman like me to have
Tumblr media
read it here: hope is a dangerous thing for a woman like me to have
Fandom: MCU Characters/Pairings: Bucky Barnes, Wanda Maximoff, Bucky x gn!Reader, side Sam Wilson Word Count: 2k Content/Concept Warnings: DARK FIC, entrapment, somnophilia, dub-con, non-con, entrapment, non-graphic sexual situations (p in v), magic, sorcery, manipulation, trickery…
RECAP: Bucky reluctantly agreed to visiting Wanda at the remote cabin in the first place, but a nice afternoon turns into a darker night than Bucky ever could have anticipated. [Takes place after WandaVision and TFATWS but before Multiverse of Madness.]
So this one was honestly pretty thrilling for me to write because I went in knowing this was going to be dark and that I was going to be unapologetic about it.
I loved WandaVision. I also mostly loved Multiverse of Madness.
I have this concept for a very long Bucky WIP post-TFATWS that I may or may not every actually get around to publishing, but one of the ideas I had for that was a Sam-and-Bucky-go-visit-Wanda because they're doing some mild superhero business and happen to be in the neighborhood scene. I still really liked that idea, so I lifted it and made it dark for a March writing challenge that I was flirting with doing. The rest of my thoughts are going to thoroughly address plot points...
I made the point showing the conversation between Sam and Bucky for Bucky to explain why he was hesitant to visit Wanda, for Sam to explain it away, and Bucky to agree specifically so it could all be smashed in the end and everything Bucky feared to be true. 😏
I came up with the term 'umbrabus' as a shadow succubus and I really honestly loved this concept because Wanda really does think it's an "elegant solution and practically harmless" way for her to build her power.
And then I love that as Bucky pieces everything together, Wanda is totally open with him about what she's doing - she's absolutely enjoying him work it out knowing she's got him in her trap already.
Also, I used the word preternatural, and I loved that. Shh. I know maybe that's silly. But I did.
And yeah I loved how mean it was for Wanda to conjure your form for the umbrabus when Bucky thought of you and the cruelty of the sex with you before he gets to ever be with you. It just...it hit my evil side. It felt so deliciously twisted - and just the dialogue about happiness and pleasure, torturing him?
Tumblr media
And Wanda at this point is just beyond convinced that any of this is wrong because she's also wiping their memories to only dreams of the sexual encounters.
This one is definitely a one-shot, I never saw a need or had a want for any follow up stories, but...I seriously forgot how much I loved this, so I'm excited to share it again.

A parody of Agatha All Along, or in this case “Marinette All Along” intercut with scenes of Marinette meddling with magic to make everything go her way in canon.
Marinette: Oh, Nath… You didn’t think you were the only creative mind in the city, did you?
*The door suddenly locks, leaving Nathaniel with no way out*
Marinette: Oh, you didn’t miss much. Here’s a little recap! *Uses magic to make a series of clips accompanied by music play in Nathaniel’s head*
Who’s been messing up everything?
It’s been Marinette all along!
Who’s been pulling every single string?
It’s been Marinette all along!
She’s mischievous!
So perfidious!
That you haven’t even noticed, and the pity is, the pity is-
Pity, pity, pity, pity
It’s too late to fix anything
Everything for you has gone so wrong
Thanks to Marinette~
It’s been Marinette~
It’s been Marinette all along!
Marinette: And I sent Alix away, too.

Hello again CaptainWidowSpring,
I am UsernamesSuck_44 on Ao3, and what I'd like to ask you about has pretty much nothing to do with Marvel's Civil War, but it is something that I want your opinion on, because you've proven to be an incredible analyst, so I'm moving it to here. With that said, what I'm going to talk about is a real-world thing with genuine controversy, so if you don't feel comfortable talking about it, then ignore everything I'm about to write.
Over the last 2 months we've had an incredibly in-depth and analytical discussion about Wanda Maximoff and her actions across the MCU, and I loved every bit of what we've said. But now I'd like to ask you about the... controversy surrounding the character, and Elizabeth Olsen herself. As you most likely know, in the comics Wanda is half-Romani (though she is generally drawn as lighter-skinned), and I'm told she is Jewish. The MCU version of the character is neither of these things, so some people have gotten angry at Marvel for supposedly whitewashing the character. Do you think there is any merit to that?
That's only part of what I'd like to ask about though, and this is the part I'm really concerned about. Now, there's no denying that Elizabeth Olsen is a wonderful actress, and without her we wouldn't have the amazing character that is MCU Wanda. But even aside from the whitewashing accusation, there is some controversy around Olsen herself. You may have heard about it before, but I'm gonna recap anyway: on three separate occasions Lizzie has used a certain Romani word that could be seen as a racial slur to describe Wanda. She said it twice during the promotional tour for Age of Ultron: once in an interview, which you can find on YouTube by searching "Elizabeth Olsen is racist", and once that is not on camera but is still well-documented; she appeared once on the Graham Norton Show when promoting AoU, and allegedly she said that word again, and Norton told her it was offensive. I don't know what her reaction to that was, because none of this is on camera, since it was all edited out of the episode. I think it's worth pointing out that Lizzie has never been back on Graham Norton's show in the 8 years since. The third time was on a podcast when promoting WandaVision; she used the word again to describe Wanda's Halloween costume. All three times people have gotten angry and accused her of being a racist. Here are a few examples:
https://www.mic.com/p/as-a-romani-witch-i-cant-stand-wandavision-63495123https://www.tumblr.com/earnestdesire/644224777695952896/trigger-warning-g-slurhttps://imperiuswrecked.tumblr.com/post/683507607922720768/if-you-are-still-defending-elizabeth-olsen-to-thishttps://www.tumblr.com/tonkysexist
I can't exactly say these people are wrong for feeling offended, as they certainly have a right to feel attacked. Even just asking about this feels wrong, because it could be seen as me saying "Elizabeth Olsen is racist and her character is offensive. Help me deny those facts."
So what do you think about this? Were Olsen's remarks racist? Was it done out of bigotry, or ignorance? If it was ignorance is that even a valid excuse? Does MCU Wanda represent cultural erasure? Even if this isn't as awful of a thing as I'm worrying, what would happen if she said it (or God forbid, something worse) again on a future press tour? Should I even be questioning this instead of just writing her off entirely like a lot of people have? Do I even have the authority to be talking about this? I don't want to stop loving Wanda, because I feel a very deep connection with her, but knowing that she might be rooted in bigotry and racism does put a damper on my enthusiasm.
Again, if you don't feel comfortable talking about such a sensitive topic, then feel free to just ignore this entirely.
You are not wrong for being desirous of more information about these accusations. It is quite good to not blindly accept such charges, as pondering them enables one to gain a better understanding of the situation. Anyone can be so reflective, this allows for many different perspectives on the situation. Indeed, it is quite beneficial to engage in critical thinking.
I do not think Elizabeth Olsen's comments were racist. Here is why. For one thing, it is likely that she quite simply didn't know that some people consider the g-word to be a slur; it is often seen as just another way to describe the Roma people. And the term is not exactly uncommon; there is a breed of horse called the Gypsy Vanner, for example. And while she has been told of some people's dislike of that word, she might have just forgotten due to the amount of time that has passed since then, especially if the word continued to have no negative connotations for her.
But also, she clearly was not using the word with malicious intent. She was just using the word like any other adjective. For example, some people have gotten upset that, during the interviews for Age of Ultron, when describing Wanda and Pietro's lifestyle, she used the g-word in conjunction with the word vagabond: and they have taken this to mean that Olsen views the Roma as thieves. I do not think this is the case, however. First of all, while vagabond can mean thief, it can also just mean a person who wanders from place to place, and this conceivably could be the definition she was using. And while she does at times talk about how Wanda and Pietro had to steal things, she emphasized that they did so because they had to, not because they were bad people or particularly predisposed to thievery: so in any case the g-word was in no way intended as a conveyance of negativity.
And on the Graham Norton Show, after Norton told Olsen that he found the word offensive, apparently Jeremy Renner and Mark Ruffalo, who were with her, started chanting it. Olsen did not join them, so it appears that she is perfectly willing to not say the word if it offends people.
I read an article about the subject that I thought provided a good perspective, and here are two quotes from that article:
"There is the risk, of course, that we stumble into the realm of the 'noble savage' and over-idealize the Roma or our fictionalized notions of gypsies in the process, much like people often do with Native Americans…But clearly this is not the same thing as being a 'nasty racist.' Imagining that the American Indians were all peaceful and at one with nature may be inaccurate and naïve, but it’s not in the same ballpark as thinking they’re subhuman."
"Is Stevie Nicks—who described herself in a recent NPR interview as a 'freewheeling, roller-skating witch that I am'—a racist for her song ‘Gypsy?’ Do the lyrics strike you as a slanderous assault on the Roma people? No more than Olsen’s excited discussion of her cool 'Gypsy' costume. Context matters. So does empathy. Either one without the other and we risk falling prey to the whims of outrage and offense and, yes, of being an asshole for no reason, too."
Perhaps Olsen could be be a bit more careful about using that word in the future because of how upsetting it is for some people, but at the same time it is understandable how she would not see that word as bad, especially since some Roma actually prefer that word. If she said it again and it sparked great displeasure, the best thing to do would be to explain the situation to her. I agree with Valkyrieandstrangeridingaragorn, I think there must be intention for it to be racist, attacking someone for something they genuinely did not know was disagreeable is not very helpful.
Now for Wanda. The good news is, MCU Wanda does not represent cultural erasure, and is not rooted in bigotry and racism.
As you noted, some people are upset that Wanda was not clearly shown to be Jewish or Roma. The thing about this is, there’s really no indication that she wasn’t these things either. Her religious status is not brought up at all, so it is open to interpretation. As for her ethnicity, what is made clear by the movies is that she is Sokovian, so she is Eastern European. But this does not mean she is not Roma: and as we know from the word Olsen used, such a thing was definitely a consideration for her character. And there are hints of it in places, like how Wanda dressed up as a Sokovian Fortune Teller in WandaVision, fortunetelling is a traditional Roma occupation. And in any case, the MCU does not always bring up the religious status and ethnicity of its characters. For example, Steve is Irish and a Christian: but the fact that he is Irish never came up in any of his appearances, and the only reference to his religion was the line in The Avengers when he said, “There’s only one God, ma’am, and I’m pretty sure He doesn’t dress like that,” which isn't very informative. Not focusing on a character’s cultural identity is not something new to the MCU, they are often unable to figure out how to work such a thing into their stories.
And if Steve's cultural background was not explored in any of his appearances, when he has had more screen time at this point than Wanda has, it is really not surprising that the same thing happened to Wanda. There being no mentions of Wanda being Jewish is not really surprising, as such a thing has never played a major role in any of her comic stories either. Really the only thing that connected her to Judaism was the fact that she was Magneto's daughter for a time, and he is a Jew. But that has since been retconned, and in any case, she did not meet Magneto until she was an adult. As for Wanda's race, it has been retconned several times. She and Pietro were white Europeans until 1974, and then they became Americans until 1979. It is at this point that they became the children of Magneto and Magda, which is where the Romani heritage appeared. Then around 2014, they were retconned back into being the biological children of the Maximoffs, who were white Europeans. So the European heritage is definitely there, portraying Wanda as European is not at all inaccurate. And again, Wanda's background is not something that the MCU has paid much attention to, so it is not surprising that her being Roma was never significantly acknowledged.
And there is nothing wrong with casting Olsen as Wanda; she deserves the role, being quite talented in it. And despite Wanda's race being retconned multiple times, as you noted she has generally been drawn as white or white-passing, so casting a white person to play her was a natural choice. And there are plenty of other actors who look like their characters but are not the exact same race, that is not a new phenomenon. Indeed, such a standard of representation would be difficult to maintain, and very restrictive. Olsen being cast as Wanda is not whitewashing.
Here are a few other good sources on the matter:

Is advocating for Wanda not disrespectful to the people of Westview?
According to the MCU timeline, WandaVision is happening as we speak (if anyone is wondering when exactly we are, if I'm reading it right earlier this evening Monica got yoinked into the Hex). So just to recap what that means for the average Westview citizen, at this very moment:
they are prisoners in their own minds
most of them can't move at all, and the few who can are being puppeted and being worked off their feet
their thoughts are completely drowned out by Wanda's pain
even their sleep is dominated by her nightmares
they have no idea what is going on or why, and they have no expectation of ever being released. As far as they know, this is their life now
they are (presumably) being sustained by the Hex so they don't starve or die of thirst, which means they can't even escape through death
We are talking about close to 4,000 people, adults and children alike (though the children got off easier since they were asleep for 95% of the Hex's duration). All of them are going through this for the next week at the very least.
With all of that in mind... is defending Wanda, the woman who put them through this to begin with, not disrespectful to each and every one of these people? I realize you could apply this to pretty much any villain who goes good, but is waiving anything not disrespectful to their victims?
I mean, I often see people going "I don't care what Wanda went through, there is absolutely no excuse for what she has done." And they're right; there isn't. That's why I cling so hard to the notion that she didn't know she was doing it. But even if that's true, I doubt the people of Westview will care.

Luke and Carrie's Bad Rapport Episode #143: 20 YEARS of Friendship!
The first two 15-minute segments of this episode were recorded in June 2023 when Carrie and Alexann were visiting Luke in Burbank, and features them and the Bad Rapport debut of Luke’s new roommate, Santana Maynard! The next 5 segments after that were recorded in July 2023, and featured Carrie talking about travel woes, Luke talking about getting high on the 4th of July, and we both review “Peacemaker” Season 1 and the first 7 episodes of the anime “Komi Can’t Communicate”. At that point (months before the SAG/AFTRA strike, which we both support), I was supposed to have finished editing and posting the episode. Well, real life got in the way as it always does, which kept me from editing the episode for 3 months until after FuMPFeST 2023 ended.
Carrie pointed out that we were closing in on October 25th, 2023, which is the 20th Anniversary of the day Carrie and I met. Ten years ago we did a whole huge special episode recapping the first ten years of our friendship (Episode #93). So we figured it made sense for us to record a couple more segments having an unprepared (my fault) conversation about some of the highlights of what she and I have been doing together and separately over the past 10 years to commemorate two decades Carrie interrupting Luke and Luke belching on the mic to annoy Carrie. So that’s what we did. You’re welcome, I guess?
Also, there hasn’t been a Bad Rapport podcast posted in the month of October since 2019, so I have been saving up some HALLOWEEN BANGERS for you all to rock out to! The comedy and music tracks for this episode are by The Ghost And Molly McGee, the great Luke Ski, Peter Hollens, Whitney Avalon, The Muppets, MC Lars, Schaffer the Darklord, Josh Gad, Alex Brightman, mc chris, Adventure Time, Rob Paravonian, The Cuphead Show, Skunk Barf, Art Paul Schlosser, brentalfloss, Mighty Magiswords, Insane Ian, TV’s Kyle, Eminem, WandaVision, Wig Wam, Peacemaker, Freeced featuring Awkward Marina, Mega Ran, Devo Spice, Jeff Whitmire, Carrie Dahlby, Chris Mezzolesta, Green Jelly, Posehn, and Trevor Strong. What do you get when you put it all together?… You get Episode #143 of “Luke & Carrie’s Bad Rapport”, featuring an AMAZING commissioned piece of art by FuMP superfan CHUCK! Please follow her on social media, @vv3spa on Instagram and Twitter, her commission prices are pinned to the top of her feed! Speaking of ‘feed’… “CHICKEN!”

Marvel Sidelined Doctor Strange In His Own Movie
Tumblr media
When I watched this movie at the theatres, I was completely entranced. Despite the fact that I do not enjoy horror or gore, it did not affect my enjoyment of the movie at all. The change in aesthetic and shift in genre from what Marvel generally produces also did not faze me. After watching the TV shows of phase 4, I was used to changes in genre, tone and theme. So I was shocked when I heard that many fans did not enjoy the movie.
But after marinating on it for a day, I think I understand why.
Marvel’s Changes In Genre, Tone and Aesthetic
Tumblr media
Up until phase 4, Guardians of The Galaxy and Thor: Ragnorak have been the biggest deviations in genre for the MCU. Marvel has built its fanbase by creating conventional superhero movies so it’s no surprise that many fans are frustrated by the sudden changes in genre, tone and aesthetic. I’m sure that even just a few years ago, no one would have expected Marvel to release a sitcom. And so it’s perfectly valid to feel hesitant to accept change.
Marvel is evolving, whether fans want it or not. Phase 4 of the MCU is by far its most diverse collection of stories present (both in terms of the characters and the range of genres). In order to remain an MCU fan, one must let go of preconceived ideas of what a superhero should be.
I think the biggest reason why so many fans have reacted negatively to phase 4 is due to an unshaking loyalty to the movies that built the foundation of the MCU. Fans are so caught up in their own expectations that they fail to enjoy the movie for what it is. To some fans, this deviation feels like a betrayal but it’s not.
The fact of the matter is that the movies that built the foundation of the MCU are generic superhero stories (I say this despite loving them deeply). They lack diversity and you could find countless stories like them. Though we may feel a nostalgic connection to them, if they are all we receive, the MCU will become boring. No one, not even die hard MCU fans, will be happy if every movie is about the same white man who created his own problems through ego and recklessness (Iron Man, Doctor Strange, Bruce Banner, Hank Pym, Thor and so on).
Marvel Doesn’t Slow Down For Anyone
Tumblr media
Marvel has created such a devoted fanbase that they now expect viewers to have watched every movie and TV show produced by them. The truth of the matter is that the MCU is just one giant TV show. If you want to enjoy a movie, you have to watch every movie that comes before it. They don’t do recaps or give you time to acclimatise to the story, they simply expect you to know the context.
And so if you walked into this movie without having watched Doctor Strange, every Avengers movie that Wanda has been in, WandaVision, What If and Spiderman No Way Home at the very least, this movie will make absolutely no sense. Without context, this movie is trash. With context, this movie is amazing and the culmination of numerous character arcs.
Without watching WandaVision, you won’t be able to understand Wanda’s motivations. Without watching Infinity War and Endgame, you won’t understand why Wanda calls Strange a hypocrite. You won’t feel empathy for them in the same way I did, having watched everything related to their backstory. And What If will give you valuable context on the multiverse.
This movie will not slow down to accommodate anyone. Parts of it are confusing even for fans who have watched everything related to the MCU multiple times. If you are a relatively new fan, this is not the movie for you. In fact, most of phase 4 isn’t for you (except for maybe Eternals, Shang Chi and Ms Marvel).
Marvel Fans Need To Manage Expectations
Tumblr media
A major problem with the MCU fandom is our obsession with theorising. So many of us are so caught up in coming up with theories that we almost feel entitled to watching them be confirmed. We don’t stop to simply watch and enjoy a movie. Fan theories are great but they should never stop you from being able to enjoy a movie for what it is.
People were so caught up in their expectations of events that they were unable to enjoy the actual events on screen. I can almost guarantee that many more fans would have enjoyed this movie if they had spent less time developing and becoming irrationally excited over headcanons and predictions.
At the end of the day, we are not the writers of the MCU. We do not get a say on character or story direction. Even if in our heads, a certain story idea would be amazing, the MCU is not obligated to accommodate us. We as fans seriously need to work on our entitlement.

Thor L&T Rant- Against the negative reviewers
One, I loved the movie because it was just a fun and heartfelt movie. However, I've got some things I need to get off my chest and it's against the negative Youtubers and Critics.
Some YTers who pride themselves on being critics (who are just normal people watching a movie and then making their opinions known) had a hard time with this movie but for obvious, annoying, petty and some valid reasons. What are those reasons? Well.....
The fixation of Ragnarök. The movie happened and it's over move on. This is one of the more annoying reasons. Watching at least 10 YT reviewers say the same damn things like "do I like it better than Ragnarök?" "Is it as good as Ragnarök?" "As someone who loved Ragnarök" "You know I loved Ragnarök" Then go watch Ragnarök. The people who can't let Ragnarök be it's own thing are struggling with false expectations moving forward. That's a you problem and the current film is not to blame for that. I could say this about the GOTG as well.
YTers hating on Marvel Phase 4 in general. This is somewhat valid because phase 4 has been a mess. MoM ummmm I didn't know I had to do homework before a film. Neither did a lot of people. If you hadn't watched WandaVision then the first half of the movie doesn't make sense. Love and Thunder at least did a recap at the beginning of the movie in a fun, comedic way; MoM did not and suffered as a consequence because the audience was lost. Movies and shows blending together without any clearly way of understanding why or how.... maybe not the best idea. However, it's not valid because why are you trying to connect this movie to 5 other movies at the same time?! Why? Just watch the damn movie as a standalone and in the avenger's movie (Hint: because those are the films that usually tie everything together) I'm sure things will make sense.
Oh yeah YTers and critics taking themselves way too seriously. The Critical Drinker right..... the guy has some valid points but I listen to him knowing that his whole thing is to be a obnoxious fake drunk while hating on things in a slurred Scottish accent. Love and Thunder unashamedly has fun and wants you to have fun so lighten up. This is a film that doesn't take itself too seriously, yes, sometimes to it's own detriment. Guess what?! Ragnarök was very much the same kind of movie.
People trying to be smart and failing. If you are gonna "analyze" a film come correct. Several YTers are being educated in the comment section because they missed a lot of things the first time watching the film. For example, several critics and YTers don't understand why the Gods didn't intervene when Thanos wanted to obliterate half the universe. Umm hello! THAT'S THE POINT OF THE WHOLE MOVIE! Scene after scene regarding people who prayers/problems are not being answered by the Gods and they don't understand why. We met those Gods doing nothing but discussing orgies and BS. It's what motivates Gorr into wanting to kill them all because they are useless. It's in the trailer, it's in the movie so how did you miss that?!
They missed it, because they were too busy thinking the movie was dur dur dumb, the Gods cannot control death. The second half of the movie (part of the Disney+ shows) is about setting up that there is entities above "the Gods" like the original celestials who held the infinity stones. Like lady death, eternity, the watcher ect. ect. If the Gods could stop death then someone like Gorr the God butcher wouldn't scare them nor be able to kill them.
Lastly, and this is fair people were genuinely concerned this film would be woke. People are really wearing thin with the gender bending, race swapping, SHEro while being underdeveloped and poorly written, alphabet group pandering, agenda pushing and I understand because I am too. Those movies are failing BTW look at Lightyear. I'm talking about poorly executed films but it's diverse so we can't complain about it. Valkyrie and Mighty Thor are well written and developed while not minimizing or sidelining Thor. Valkyrie isn't making speeches about being oppressed (how could she?! she's king!) and Jane is strong woman without needing to tell everyone she's a strong woman. I loved Jane actually because you saw her selfless love for Thor. She faced her mortality with courage. She supported another female and didn't feel the need to compete with her. She didn't try to replace or be randomly better than him. Ultimately she died for him. Jane is a great female character.
One more thing. Yes, the film was hurting from it's cut down run time. The film needed to be longer. Another 20 minutes to see Gorr butcher a God, develop Valkyrie more, really sit with Thor and Jane and her mortality+ what that means for him going forward. Let the film breathe a little more would have only strengthened the film. Hopefully there is an extended cut.
Welp if you made it to the end congratulations and let me know what you think.

Hi writer of [An AI in Talokan].
The Story is mainly a Nashuri Fanfiction but it's mostly Namor, Namora & Attuma. Learning the history of Earth before Wakanda Forever. Or just a MCU Recap.
But I am not sure What should I include and not include.
I already wrote recaps of :
Captain America: The First Avenger
Captain Marvel : Part 1
Iron Man
Iron Man 2
Thor
The Incredible Hulk
The Avengers
Iron Man 3
Thor : The Dark World
Captain America : The Winter Soldier
The one I haven't done yet :
Guardians of the Galaxy
Guardians of the Galaxy : Vol 2
Avengers : Age Of Ultron
Ant-Man
Captain America : Civil War
Black Widow : Part 1
Doctor Strange
Black Panther
Thor : Ragnarok
Ant-Man & the Wasp : Part 1
Avengers : Infinity War
Ant-Man & the Wasp : Part 2
Captain Marvel : Part 2
Avengers : Endgame
Black Widow : Part 2
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings
WandaVision
The Falcon & the Winter Solider
Hawkeye
Doctor Strange & the Mutiverse of Madness
Thor : Love & Thunder
I left some out, for example.
The Eternals & MoonNight & WereWolf by Night.
The SpiderMan Movies were not told because no one remembers Peter Parker.
[Spoilers for Ant-Man & the Wasp : Quantumania]
I also decided not to include Ant-Man : Quantumania. Because in the End. Scott said he wasn't going to tell the Avengers about what happened.
So I don't know what should include and not include.
If anybody has any ideas, please let me know.

XANDER: (swallows) People? BUFFY: Xander, you ate the burger?! XANDER: Well, first you say it's cat, then you come in and hand me a burger, blah blah blah, five minutes later 'oh and by the way, it happens to be hot delicious human flesh'! BUFFY: I needed that burger to analyze it. Now I'm gonna have to get another one. XANDER: *That's* your problem with this scenario? You getting seconds?

When I first heard that we were going to get a mature audience spin-off to the Hawkeye series, Echo, starring Alaqua Cox as yours truly and Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk (Kingpin), I was pretty excited. For me, Daredevil and the other originally Netflix Marvel shows were peak Marvel tv. Yes, shows like WandaVision, Loki, Legion, and Agents of Shield are up there as well, but the Defender shows were really the only ones that were trying to raise the stakes of superhero entertainment, didn’t focus on making the characters quip a lot, and showed that the genre that was once a joke didn’t just kill the box office but could be at the level of gritty HBO shows. The announcement of a show like Echo gave me hope that those kinds of shows were maybe coming back, along with their characters. I’ll admit, I didn’t like Hawkeye too much personally, but that was more so because it was a Christmas tie in series and after just seeing Avengers Endgame, Ronin, I personally wanted something a little more gritty.
With Echo, it seems like I’m finally getting my wish. The first episode, “Chafa,” had raw and dark fight scenes that were choreographed pretty well and similar to the Defender shows, very story driven, the characterization of Echo felt a lot like Matthew Murduck and Jessica Jones, tough but vulnerable, and it honestly felt like a modern day western, like it was trying to be in the same category as Westworld. However, I only watched the first season of that show so that comment may vary. Echo, Episode 1: Chafa Commentary
The only two things I could criticize in this first episode are how it’s the first Marvel show under the “Spotlight” brand and that were 29 minutes of flashback and recap, which left roughly 20 minutes of present day Maya scenes. It felt like enough for someone like me who’ve seen the Defenders shows, movies, and Hawkeye, but it had to cater to an audience that perhaps missed some movies or didn’t even see Hawkeye, so I get why recap is there. I also felt that seeing Maya’s accident or origin was necessary, though there’s not much modern day Maya before the credits and it makes me so glad that this show was dropped all at once on Disney+ instead of released weekly. Plus, about that Marvel Spotlight comment, this show is supposedly the first to be a non-required watch, will be made for mature audiences, and won’t affect the Marvel films. My little gripe with that is...

Ms. Marvel Review: Refreshing, Self-Assured, and a Thorough Delight
Ms. Marvel — premiering Wednesday on Disney+ and Disney+ Hotstar — is the most refreshing and self-assured Marvel Cinematic Universe series since WandaVision. That might seem like low praise, given everything in between has been hit or miss. Actually, largely miss, save for the time-hopping with the god of mischief in Loki. Those who’ve been reading my reviews and episodic recaps will already…
