I visited a museum few weeks ago. Museum is my second home, while the library is the first. These would look like a good addition to my room. (All pics are mine)
When Lemony Snicket said "I will love you as a thief loves a gallery and as a crow loves a murder, as a cloud loves bats and as a range loves braes. I will love you as misfortune loves orphans, as fire loves innocence and as justice loves to sit and watch while everything goes wrong. I will love you as a battlefield loves young men and as peppermints love your allergies, and I will love you as the banana peel loves the shoe of a man who was just struck by a shingle falling off a house. I will love you as a volunteer fire department loves rushing into burning buildings and as burning buildings love to chase them back out, and as a parachute loves to leave a blimp and as a blimp operator loves to chase after it" I felt that.
Also. Do you know that famous Sappho poem about ‘Aphrodite overcame me, I cannot weave’?
Well
Apparently, the word she used was not eros (“love, passion”) but pothos—the same word used of Alexander the Great to describe his desire to conquer the world.
Violet Sorrengail has studied all her life to become a Scribe at Basgiath War College, but when her hard ass mom, the commanding general, forces her to compete to enter the dragon Rider Quadrant—it’s do or die. She’s smaller, and physically fragile, but she definitely smarter than the other cadets! Now if her insanely attractive wingleader, Xaden Riorson, doesn’t kill her then the dragons just might…
I had low expectations starting this book because when a book is so hyped on sm, sometimes it can be misleading and not be as good as everyone thinks it is. That was NOT the case for Fourth Wing! The world building was well thought out, Xaden and Violet had unique enough backstories that made you invest in them, and the slow burn is what I LIVED for!!! I will definitely read Iron Flame but I’m trying to pace myself (not read it in 3 days! lol).
