"It is a terrible thing to learn as a child that one is a being separate from all the world, that no one and no thing hurts along with one's burned tongues and skinned knees, that one's aches and pains are all one's own. Even more terrible, as we grow older, to learn that no person, no matter how beloved, can ever truly understand us."

Random things that I cannot stop thinking about:
“Sorry about the blood in your mouth. I wish it was mine”
“Yesterday I got so old, it made me want to cry”
“O teach me how I should forget to think”
“Time makes us sentimental. Perhaps, in the end, it is because of time that we suffer”
“I declare that later on, even in a time unlike our own, someone will remember who we are”
“Give me a meaningful love or a beautiful death!”
“If I’m dead to you, why are you at the wake?”

The future is wide and wild and full of promise, but it is precarious, too. Seize on every opportunity that comes your way and cling to it, lest it be washed back out to sea.

Sometimes, when there's been an accident and reality is too sudden and strange to comprehend, the surreal will take over.

"When Emily Brõnte said, "You said I killed you. Haunt me then"
And when M.L Rio said, "Here's the thing about lust: you don't have to like each other. Ever heard about hate sex?"
And when Achilles said, "There are no bargains between lion and men. I will kill you and eat you raw."
And when Oscar Wilde said, "Everything in the world is about sex except sex. Sex is about power."
And when Donna tartt said, " There was a horrible, erratic thumping in my chest, as if a large bird was trapped inside my ribcage and beating itself to death."
?????????
Those are purely raw emotions.
Passion, love, panic, power and death are an insane combination."

just finished “The goldfinch” and wow. let me tell you that donna tartt creates masterpiece after masterpiece. this book made me feel loads of things, but especially it made me cry... no other book has ever made me cry. i recommend this a hundred percent.
also, the movie is good but it misses some things that are important for the plot. it made things between boris and theo gayer, i’m not mad but idk
(english is not my first language so i’m sorry for any mistakes)

dong drugs, drinking excessively, stealing precious artwork are all things I am against, unless it's Boris Pavlikovsky and Theo Decker doing it

"Mr Barbour's boating stories, never particularly cogent, or focused, or informative about the actual sport, had always vibrated with a majestic urgency all their own, an appealing tingle of disaster."

Are there dark academia movies/books that like. Don't end up in heartbreak and me lying on the floor face down, crying?
I want a comforting dark academia experience for once for fucks sake-
