PAUSE!!! I HAVE A-
VERY, VERY SERIOUS QUESTION!!! What song fits all of DC's Robins??? I mean, not just one of them. Robins as in ALL of them. What song describes them all so well, I'll be daydreaming about it 24/7??? I desperately need something to vibe to. I wanna feel the legacy passed from a hero to another. Their fights, their flights, and the hope that they bring to Gotham. I want song recs that will immediately make me think about their bond and how each of them carries the name. The feeling of camaraderie and the struggles that they went through to be able to fly. I NEED it!
(And P.S. Yes. Ya'll are now obligated to do it as you've read through everything. Red Hood will vouch for me. XD Say hi, Red Hood! =D)

Attention passengers, this is your conductor speaking!
Thank you for choosing Monochrome Railway. My name is Ray and I will be accompanying you for the ride. First, let us review safety precautions when boarding the train, whether it's for a single specific trip to a station or a recurring trip from one station to another.
Safety Checks (Rules):
I do not mind which passengers board this train, as I do not feel obligated to exclude those people whose views are different than mine as long as they pertain to a bare minimum set, in which case I will as swiftly as possible procure the continuation of a safe space in which to consume my works, I will take the liberty to take necessary measures if the situation arises.
Continuing from the first point, I am not to be held responsible for the possible outcome of interactions stemming from my own activity that are not directly related to me. Though I have my own views (which you can consult further down), I am used to separating art from artist to a certain degree, as such, there is a possibility yo end up seeing content from accounts you do not approve of.
Anyone is free to interact as long as they remain civil. This one doesn't need much explanation, I enjoy the attention my posts might get, and as a result I enjoy seeing what people think of my content as long as they behave.
Content will be warned accordingly for the sake of the consumer, please let me know if I ever miss a content warning, but do so tastefully.
With the safety checks out of the way, allow me to state frankly my own views that can and will affect the content shown in here:
I am not a proshipper. I know people exist with different views than I, and I let them be, however, content that is excluded in a non-proship view will not be present in a positive manner.
I reserve the right to not avoid the content excluded by the point above if it is mandatory for setting purposes. I will never paint it in a positive light because I do not find enjoyment from it, however, I find that in certain cases it is mandatory to address things vital to a story that are not tasteful in my views for the sake of narrative.
I may write spoilers of storylines I know the full extent of. People who are spoiler avoidant will be warned in the post itself, however, sometimes points that may be deemed spoilers might be vital for my works.
I mostly write and draw about my hyperfixations. I cannot be tied to a lone specific piece of content unless my mind is very into it, so content may change drastically over time.
This Monochrome Railway line has no specific set destination, however, stations it might stop in are:
Gear Station: It is not a rare occurrence to see the Subway Bosses when you come along for a ride in Monochrome Railway, as connections and partnerships made sure to anchor this train to at least monthly visits to that station.
Puyo Puyo/Madou Monogatari Station: Just as frequently as Gear Station, Puyo Puyo/Madou Monogatari are often frequented mostly for the sake of meeting an appointment with a certain horned devil.
Orsterra & Solistia Joint Station: White-haired clerics and dark-haired scholars keep the train from omitting this station on occasion, it may be accompanied by dirty blond little lambs in need of guidance.
Pokémon Station: Separate from Gear Station due to its more general nature, Monochrome Railway occasionally visits the Pokémon World as a whole.
Zenithian Station: Though this one is lately more in the back-burner, it is expected this station is revisited soon, as the various worlds in need of heroes to slay dragons and do quests are soon to have a few new interesting additions.
That will be the full line for now! If new stations were to arise, this post will be updated accordingly, so keep an eye out for a possible update on the Information Board!
As a last addition, this conductor will be working on extensive guides of both preferred content and original content for better navigation. As soon as it is finished it will be linked so as to ensure you learn how to navigate the various contents each station may produce.
Thank you for reading until the endstaying until the end of this announcement! Without further ado, let us aim for victory! All aboard!

Can you do one where Harry take his children and YN to one of his concert and their just dancing around singing along on stage with Harry.
i love this concept so much!! i kinda of wanna make it sad though soooo it’s gonna be harry’s final show :/ hope you enjoy;
oli - 29, felix - 27, belle - 24
The concert had been amazing, but unfortunately it was coming to its’ end now.
The final show.
That’s what Harry had decided to call it; a clever play on words with reference to his first ever solo single. The last 50 years had been a rollercoaster for Harry, from growing up just a kid in Cheshire, to going on the X Factor and winning the hearts of millions and from being in the most successful band of the decade to going solo and still being absolutely beloved. Times had changed, though. Harry had changed. He had a beautiful family of 3 now, excluding his wonderful wife. His children were his universe, no question about it, but they were getting older now - Harry was getting older. He was 50 this year and with that in mind he’d decided to retire. Retiring had involved a long conversation with you, along with a bottle of red wine, about whether it was the right decision or not. But it was - is.
You had suggested he put on one final, massive show, to celebrate his life and his achievements along with all that the fans have too. Tickets were open internationally and it was being streamed on various TV outlets for those who couldn’t attend. The tickets sold within 47 seconds. 47 seconds. It was being held in the Olympic Stadium in London, because it was Harry’s home and it held the most number of people he could genuinely allow.
The concert had started with ‘Fine Line’ songs, which merged into HS1 songs with a few One Direction songs as well. The entire set list had been composed by the fans with various polls on social media, with the concert supposedly lasting 2 hours (although with support artists and a few extra surprises it was more likely going to be 3!)
It had been beautiful so far. Magical. Unforgettable.
Every chance he got, without making it grossly obvious, he looked at you. He'd told you to stick your thumbs up at him every time he caught your eye, so he knew that you were okay - and every time, you did.
The concert was coming to an end now, which everyone was dreading. How could +30 years feel like it'd only been thirty minutes? You were devastated, so you could only imagine what his fans were thinking.
"Hey!"
The end Kiwi, for the second time, strummed throughout the arena and you knew it was time for the final song. His final song.
"Mum, is this the end?" Belle asked you, from where she was standing next to you. You had been dancing together all night and gotten progressively more tired. Your feet hurt. Your throats burned. Yet, as always, it was so worth it.
"Yes, Belles, it is." You tell her, and she pouted sadly. "Dad won't want to see you sad love, okay? He can still sing to you before bed?" You teased her, reminding her of a time when Harry would do such a thing, not wanting her to be all sad. It was supposed to be a celebration, but even you could admit that is was pretty hard-hitting.
"Really mum?" She asked.
You booped her nose annoyingly, before answering. "Every night if you want him to."
The lights changed from their green tone, thanks to Kiwi, back to a bright, white light. It beamed on Harry, making him look even more like the angel that he is. He dragged his microphone back to the centre stage and took a deep breath for beginning a speech he'd told you he'd prepared.
"So this is it, my friends." He laughed sadly into the microphone. He brushed his hair back and took out his in-ears to hear the audience. They were all awwing and crying, but what else did you expect? Their favourite artist was retiring - who wouldn't be crying a river?
"I, um. I'd like to take a bit of time to thank certain people." He coughed, something he always did after performing Kiwi due to his asthma. You thought it was lovely that he'd planned a speech to thank his management and crew. They did so much work backstage and you definitely didn't think they got enough credit for their hard work.
"Okay. I've made a little list..." Harry pulled out a tiny bit of crumpled paper from his pocket. "Just in case I forget anyone." He joked to himself, but made everyone laugh anyways. "So I guess first off, I should start with you lovely people." He pointed around the whole stadium, showing he was talking about the fans. "What you have done for me is indescribable. I think to myself, everyday, am I worthy of even being here—"
"Yes!" An army of agreement echoed around the arena, making Harry stop, blush and smile to himself.
"Well thank you! Um. You have been the best fans ever, and I know you will continue to be. I know you don't owe me anything, but all I ask you to keep loving yourselves and treating people with kindness, because I know I can count on you lot to do that, for me." He sniffled at the end, making you bite your lip to prevent the tears from falling for you. He looked so vulnerable right now, but you knew he'd be feeling on top of the world.
"Jheez." He sniffles again. "That's one thank you down and i'm already crying." He looked to his band to share the joke with.
“Dad’s such a wuss.” Oli laughed, holding his arm around Beas waist, making the people around you chuckle in agreement.
“Shut up you - Mr-tears-in-your-eyes!” You pointed out, laughing as he flipped you the bird - which then got him a hit off his grandma Anne.
All of Harrys family and friends were here, in a special cornered off section. It was such a thoughtful thing for Harry to do. All his family, and a fair few of yours, were sat down along with Harrys closest friends. Everyone was sharing laughs and drinks, whilst using every inch of space to dance along to your husbands boastful music.
"Secondly, my touring family. From Jeff and Ben, to Sarah's Kitchen, Adam, Mitch, Sarah, Charlotte and Nyoh, not forgetting everyone backstage and behind the lights, music and cameras. You've all been the greatest. Everything you do is second to none. You're all talented, warm-hearted, people whom I will carry in my heart forever. Thank you." You noticed members of the crew and band starting to tear up now.
"Moving on to my boys. We've been through it all, lads, and I couldn't have asked for four better brothers than you all. Louis. Liam. Niall. Zayn. Thank you." Everyone cheered ten times louder, maybe because this was as close to a One Direction reunion as the fans were ever going to get, but definitely because Harry had mentioned Zayn. You saw a girl faint at the mere mention of all the boys in the same sentence. The boys lifted up their beers to Harry, stood close by to where you were standing.
"I guess I should say thank you to the women who made all this possible. Mum. Gem. Thank you for signing me up all those years ago. Thank you for believing in me. You've made me the - crap, sorry! - the man I am now and I love you both." Harry prayed to them both, whilst bowing, and swiftly wiped away the tears afterwards. Anne and Gemma, on the other hand, were proudly crying.
"Ol, Fix and Belles. You rascals make me get out of bed every morning and give me more of a purpose in life. You four give me so much joy and happiness. I love you all, even if you do drive me up the wall on an early Saturday morning! Thank you, my loves." You stood close to all your children, giving them the support they needed in this moment. Belle was crying against your chest, the ever-so-emotional woman she was. Felix was stood up, with Heather, with his drink raised to his dad. Oli was to your side, trying to remain cool and stoic, but you still caught the tears that ran down his face.
"Now." The audience calmed down again after awing over your babies. Harry cleared his throat before beginning again. "This evening keeps on reminding me of a very special person in my life. Someone who is my everything and that's my beautiful wife, Y/N." His words make your breath hitch in your throat. You never expected him to say anything about you. I mean, what had you done?
"Mum." Belle called out to you, in affirmation that this was real.
"She's more than just a wife. She's a lover. She's my muse. She's my best-fucking-friend, apologises for swearing but sue me. I was hesitant to let go of all this, at first. What would I do with myself now? You know? People tell me i'm 'happiest on stage', and for a time that was true. Until I met Y/N. She's made me realise that family makes me the happiest. She makes me the happiest." He jumped down off stage, taking the microphone with him. He ran his hands along the fans in the front row, but had no intention of stopping until he met you.
You felt Belle leaving your side, but you were too captivated by Harry to fully understand what was happening.
"So what am I going to do now, you ask? Well..." Harry cheekily smiled at you. "I'm going to make her the happiest woman alive, just as she makes me the happiest man." You began to cry again and the chorus of thousands of fans clapping and screaming surrounds you, only to all stop when his lips meet yours. He tasted like a combination of salty sweat and mint, but he was home. After a minute of crying, kissing and 'i love yous' , Harry ran back to the stage before Jeff could shoot him.
"Thank you all. All my love." He said whilst adjusting his microphone. "Please sing along if you know the words." He asked, full well knowing every single person will be screaming out the lyrics to him.
"Just stop you're crying it's the sign of the times. Welcome to the final show. Hope you're wearing your best clothes."

“life was a willow and it bent right to you wind
they count me out time and time again
life was a willow and it bent right to your wind
but i come back stronger than a 90s trend”
Fred Weasley had made quite the name for himself in Hogwarts as of late. You loved the boy dearly but in simple terms he’d become something of a womaniser. It was lighthearted, for the most part, girls knew what they were getting into with Fred, it was black and white and completely unsentimental. With him, a snog was just a snog and a shag was just a shag, there was no confusion over whether or not there was something more there with Fred, there wasn’t and, you supposed, as a teenage girl that there was a certain appeal to that sort of physical transaction. Even though Fred was becoming increasingly hard to catch by himself without a random girl hanging from his arm, he was very particular about who he chose to keep as company on any given night.
Unfortunately for you, it seemed that the criteria was “anyone who isn’t Y/n”. This was made clear to you during a party in the Gryffindor common room while you were hanging out with Fred, George, Lee and Angelina. The five of you were taking up one of the comfy sofas towards the back of the crowded room, a bottle of fire whiskey was being passed between you all. Angelina had her head sleepily tucked into your shoulder, ever the lightweight, as she listened to the conversation the boys were having halfheartedly. George was sat to your right while Angelina was tucked against the arm of the chair to your left, his long arm stretched to wrap around both yours and Angelina’s shoulders. Fred sat on the right arm of the sofa with Lee slouched drunkenly beside George, it was fairly late and since the party had started pretty early after the day’s quidditch win, you were all fairly intoxicated when the dreaded topic of Fred’s gallivanting came about.
“Right, question for Fred,” Lee started, his words slightly slurred as he passed the bottle of fire whiskey to George, who took a long swig before handing the bottle to you and resting his cheek against the top of your head. You let out a small laugh, with Angelina resting on your shoulder and George close to sleep on your head you felt like the comfiest spot in the entire common room.
“Go for it, Jordan,” Fred said airily, his brown eyes glazed over as his stared at your form enveloped between George and Angelina, catching his gaze you outstretched your arm, offering him the alcohol only for him to shake his head and greet you with a soft smile, shifting his eyes back to Lee.
Lee, who always had a tendency to talk with his hands, waved his arms around nonsensically as he posed the question, “If you had to spend the rest of your life with one girl in our year who would it be? Excluding Y/n obviously.”
You sprung to life at that, disturbing Angie and George when you lurched forward to face Lee with a confused expression, “What? What do you mean excluding Y/n?”
Fred chuckled at your affronted expression and shook his head softly, “Don’t look so offended, love. He just means that you’re not really my type.”
You let out a scoff as Angie whined, sitting up with you only to wrap her arms around your middle and plop her head back down on your shoulder, muttering a druken, “Piss off, Freddie. You couldn’t get her anyway,” George snorted, obviously entertained by the whole thing while Lee looked like a child who just got caught staying up past bedtime.
“Ignoring the fact that I’m obviously way out of your league,” you started, glaring at Fred teasingly, “If I’m not your type then how come last night’s girl looked exactly like me?” You challenged raising an eyebrow. George let out a low whistle and Fred choked on air.
“She didn’t- she wasn’t-“ Fred stuttered and Angie groaned against your neck.
“Yea she did, Fredrick. She wasn’t even as gorgeous as our Y/n stop acting like a prat you’d be lucky to spend your life with her!” She ranted, glaring at him as best she could through her droopy eyelids.
“I agree with Angie, Y/n is obviously an exception because she’s simply too good for our resident fuckboy,” George added as you and Fred entered into some kind of staring contest.
Lee snatched the fire whiskey from your hand and took a quick shot, “Alright, alright calm down! Here is my professional commentary; Y/n is not included because Freddie dearest doesn’t know how to deal with feelings and, as we all know, Y/n is a whirlwind- in a good way of course- however Freddie can only think with his dick so he would only get lost in her current.”
“Oi!” Fred shouted indignantly, pouting childishly before hopping off his seat and shoved his twin away from you, he squeezed himself into the space beside you and looked at you seriously, his cheeks flushed due to, what you thought was, his intoxicated state, “You’re not included because you’re my best mate and I’ll spend the rest of my life with you anyway I just think, you know, romantically you're not my type...” That stung. The alcohol in your system wasn’t working nearly as hard as Angie’s as she was reaching across your body and smacking Fred across the chest clumsily before you could even fully digest his words.
“Fred-“ smack, “Weasley-“ smack, “You-“ smack, “Are-“ smack, “such a-“ smack, “Twat!” The slaps she delivered were weak and didn’t do much besides cause Fred to fall into a state of utter confusion, “Romantically you’re not my type,” you, George and Lee snickered at Angie’s imitation of Fred’s voice, while Fred continued to stare at Angelina with a lost expression as she went on, “So a loyal, trustworthy, considerate, girlfriend isn’t your type? Hm? Well good because just because you said that you can never ever have her because she’s mine!”
“Alright, Angie. I think it’s time for bed,” you mumbled through a laugh, she was always a combative drunk and you usually found it quite funny but you didn’t need anymore reminding that your hopeless crush really was hopeless. When you stood up you howled out a laugh when Angie hopped up behind you, still glaring at Fred she smacked your ass, slung her arm around your shoulder and slurred, “Yeah. Let’s go, sexy,” George and Lee fell into a fit of laughter as you led Angie towards the stairs.
“I love you girls!” George called through his laughter, Lee hummed in agreement.
“Love you, Georgie. Love you, Lee!” You replied.
“I love you too!” Angie shouted over you.
Fred was still lost when you disappeared up the stairs with his, very drunk, teammate, “What the fuck just happened?”
“Your stupid ’Y/n is off limits’ rule has finally caught up to you. You’ve lost her to Angie.” George chuckled and Fred shoved him halfheartedly.
“Shut up. All that this proves is that I’m no good for her.” He said, bitterly taking a swig from the bottle in his hands. It was no secret to either of the boys that Fred was head over heels for you. He would’ve followed you anywhere, however, it seemed as though every time he spoke to you the less he even knew what he was trying to say; take that night as an example. You were exactly his type. In every way. But Lee was right when he said Fred wasn’t good at dealing with his emotions, whereas you seemed to hold an ocean of feelings and insights to life that Fred would actively drown in if he could.
“She likes you Fred, you know how she is when she wants something. Tell her no, she’ll only come back stronger. She’ll crack you eventually, ‘specially with Angie in her corner,” George informed his brother, reminding him of your unmatched determination.
True enough, you had always played to win and often did everything in your power to complete a challenge and come out on top. Fred wasn’t an idiot, he knew you fancied him, he fancied you too, who wouldn’t? But there were times that he’d be with you and this feeling of home would wash over him- he couldn’t risk losing you or that feeling you brought about, he’d be completely hollow. Besides, chasing girls who reminded him of you would keep him satisfied for the time being, surely. Surely not apparently.
George was right when he said you wouldn’t give up, in the last few days Fred found himself wishing you were his and he just knew you were doing things to make him crazy on purpose. You were, of course. He couldn’t deny that you were a force of nature all on your own, but wow, you were indeed a whirlwind when you acted with intention.
It had started with fleeting touches whenever you were close enough to achieve it. Gentle brushes of your fingertips against his while you walked alongside each other in the halls, quickly progressed into your hand gripping his bicep every time you spoke to him, then onto biting your lip whenever you were aware of his gaze. Ignoring the growing frustration within him only grew harder when you’d approach him, like clockwork, each night before he’d get busy with whoever it happened to be that night. You’d casually brush your hand down his arm, pull your lip between your teeth, wink and tell him to, “have fun”, and he would, purely because he’d have that image of you seared into his head the entire time.
Playing dirty was never something Fred would normally get on board with, however, the second he noticed you lapping up the attention you were receiving from one of the, admittedly handsome, Ravenclaw boys; Fred decided that you were in fact the one prize he’d cheat to win.
“Fuck this,” he’d muttered, causing his twin to raise an eyebrow at him. They’d only just sat down for breakfast yet Fred was already cursing out the day.
Ginny had heard him too, the youngest Weasley gave Fred a bored look, “What’s wrong with you?”
Fred let out an agitated huff through his nose, glaring menacingly at the tall brunette boy, who was sitting far too close to you for Fred’s liking. George’s laugh broke him out of his trance and he heard his brother snicker out a sarcastic, “So the penny’s finally dropped, has it?”
“Piss off, George,” Fred grumbled, his lips forming a scowly as the boy placed his hand on your knee under the table.
“For Merlin’s sake, Fred. Would you just ask her out already? I’m sick of you,” Ginny complained, Fred was her brother and she loved him but this? This was ridiculous.
“Rude, Gins. You better watch it or I’ll tell mum you’re misbehaving,” Fred joked, halfheartedly while Ginny raised a challenging eyebrow.
“Try it, Fred. I’ll tell her that you’re being a git and ruining her chances of having Y/n as a daughter-in-law.” Ginny threatened. Fred shook his head, determination flooding his body.
He stood from his spot hastily, and all but marched up to you and the boy who currently occupied your attention, “Oi, can I steal you for a minute, love?” Before you could even answer, you were being pulled from your seat by Fred’s strong grip on your hand.
The boy pulled you along until you were out of earshot of the Great Hall and away from the prying eyes of the nosy student body.
“Can I help you, Freddie?” You asked sweetly, too sweetly.
Fred’s hands slid against your sides before settling contently on your waist, he shook his head in disbelief as he spoke, “You’re something else, do you know that?”
Butterflies rumbled in your stomach in response to his newfound proximity and burning gaze. It took everything in you to bite back a triumphant yell as you managed a wicked grin. “What I am is exactly your type, Fred Weasley.”
“You’re bloody right you are,” he muttered, impatient desire fuelling him as he brought his lips to yours, tugging you closer by the waist and kissing you with so much desperation that you were starting to think snogging Fred Weasley wasn’t as open and shut as you’d previously thought.

Coup De Main Magazine Interview: Dylan O'Brien on 'Love and Monsters'.
Tumblr media
Dylan O'Brien really, really, really loves dogs. Fondly referring to his adorable co-star as "completely the star" of his new Oscar-nominated film, 'Love and Monsters, O'Brien's face lights up like a Christmas tree when reminiscing about the two Australian Kelpies, Hero and Dodge, who together portray his onscreen best friend, Boy (a.k.a. the best dog in the world).
At the heart of 'Love and Monsters' is this dynamic duo, with O'Brien as Joel Dawson, who in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by giant monsters decides to set off on a dangerous journey to reconnect with his high school sweetheart (played by Jessica Henwick), seven years after the Monsterpocalypse forced all of humanity into hiding underground.
An endearing tale of a wide-eyed boy and his loyal dog, we caught up with Dylan O'Brien to discuss 'Love and Monsters' which was filmed in Queensland, Australia...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
COUP DE MAIN: Congrats on the Best Visual Effects Oscars nomination for 'Love and Monsters'! You're in the film, so for the purposes of this interview, I think you can own that.
DYLAN O'BRIEN: Thank you! Oh absolutely, I am nominated. I've been telling everybody: I'm an Oscar nominated actor now.
CDM: You did it!
DYLAN: Thanks! <laughs> It really is amazing.
CDM: It's funny that you filmed this movie back in March to May of 2019, but the whole situation of Joel finding himself separated from Aimee probably feels very familiar to anyone who started a relationship pre-pandemic that doesn't live with their partner.
DYLAN: Yeah, it's really weird. It's really weird how what we ended up going through when this movie was due to come out, how much it related to these themes that we're exploring in this movie. It's a very crazy coincidence.
CDM: Also, the sort of aversion to venturing out again into the outside world, that feels very relatable.
DYLAN: I know. Like when he first comes out of that hatch, he's breathing in the fresh air like it's strange. It's really strange.
CDM: I also thought of the current mask-wearing situation when Clyde says: "You can always tell in their eyes, just look at their eyes." People have had to do a lot of eye-reading this past year?
DYLAN: Right?! Oh, wow wow wow. I hadn't thought about that one.
CDM: One of my favourite things you've ever done is the 'Life Of A Hollywood Actor' video. What do you think the 2021 version of 'Life Of A Hollywood Actor' would look like?
DYLAN: <laughs> Thank you so much, first of all.
CDM: I rewatched it yesterday in preparation for this interview.
DYLAN: No way, thanks! That's really cool. Yeah, I love that character. I want to do something with him. What would the 2021 version be? I think he would definitely be taking the Oscar nom for himself, very seriously - like, the visual effects Oscar nom he would apply as being his, basically, and I think he'd try to bring that up and try to really ride that to get some work. He thinks this is gonna be a big career thing for him, and then he somehow fucks it up by being too overzealous.
Tumblr media
CDM: Joel clings on to his memories of Aimee for seven years, replaying them in his mind so he can continue to relive them. Why is it that it's in human nature to mentally retreat into the past for comfort? And to look for a home in other people instead of building a solid home within ourselves?
DYLAN: That's really interesting... I feel like that's something instinctive, especially if you're going through a hard time or especially if something's shifted in your world negatively. I think there's uncertainty about the future and I always find in those situations a common link to wanting to find comfort in the past. I've gone through things, like times like that in my own life, and I've always found that when I've gone through a time like that, there's this level of uncertainty. I think it's human instinct and sort of this instinct to protect ourselves in a way. We're a wild species, aren't we? We're very emotional creatures. I think that's part of what makes humans so special. And instincts like that, to preserve and protect our heart and mind, and to hold on to things like that. And the way we're attached to memories like that and nostalgia. There's a reason these things are a part of our fabric. We're very emotional creatures.
CDM: Do you think that love or fear is a stronger emotion?
DYLAN: Whoah, that's pretty wild. I would say love - only because I feel like it has this sustainable power to endure over time. Whereas fears can be fleeting, and even if it comes quick, it's gone. But then also... yeah, I don't know. <laughs> We're getting deep. Real deep!
CDM: Is love an action or a feeling?
DYLAN: WHOAH. <cracks up>
CDM: I'm putting you on the spot, sorry.
DYLAN: No, no, I'm good! I love it! They're very interesting questions. I'm cracking up at you choosing me to answer these. Fuck. I mean, I think it's a feeling. I believe that, at least. I'm trying to think of ways it could be an action, obviously, but that's not love. I feel like if it's an action, it's something else. There are actions that come from love, but the love, it's a feeling. That's what I believe.
CDM: I always think about how in the TV show, 'Fleabag', The Priest says, "Being a romantic takes a hell of a lot of hope. I think what they mean is, when you find somebody that you love, it feels like hope," which I feel like Joel would also relate to.
DYLAN: Yeah! I love 'Fleabag'.
CDM: It's so good.
DYLAN: It's SO good.
Tumblr media
CDM: Clyde says to Joel: "Good instincts are earned by making mistakes." Do you agree or disagree with Clyde's life lesson?
DYLAN: Yeah, I think there's a lot of truth to that, for sure. I think that mistakes absolutely help us grow, in many ways, in terms of instincts and stuff. Yeah, I think that's a wise and sensible perspective to have, especially in an apocalyptic wasteland.
CDM: Do you have any cooking specialities like Joel's talent for minestrone?
DYLAN: Yeah, I've got some go-to's. They're all my mom's, like the things that are nostalgic for me that I grew up with that my mom cooks, like her chicken soup. It's the first thing I do if I go on a job or somewhere where I'm going to be for a little while, just to feel like I'm at home, the first thing I'll do is I'll make a soup and then I'll have it in the fridge for the first week that I'm there. I'll make my mom's chicken soup and it's a really nice comforting sort of a feeling. And chicken cutlets. Two very chicken-y things!
CDM: There's a line I love from the TV show, 'The Good Place', in which one of the characters says: "Sometimes, when you're feeling helpless, the secret is to help someone else. Get out of your own head." I was reminded of it in the scene where Joel is forced to take action against a monster to help save not himself, but his dog. Excluding the life or death element, have you ever felt similarly that it's been easier to help someone else first in order to help yourself?
DYLAN: Yeah, sometimes to a fault. I think that that's something that's been a bit of a learning curve for me, interestingly enough, pretty recently as well in the last year or two, to sort of realise that I need to try to help myself sometimes a little more. I think I have an instinct to help the people that I love and want to be there for them, or even a stranger sometimes, over myself, which can definitely be an interesting quality, but yeah, I think that's helping yourself. Taking care of yourself is extremely important and I think that we all sort of go through our own path of learning the importance of that, and ultimately, too, if you want to be helping others and helping your loved ones, you actually need to be taking care of yourself, first and foremost. Everyone comes to their own kind of realisation over it. It takes time. It takes your 20s, sometimes more.
Tumblr media
CDM: Do you miss your dog co-stars Hero and Dodge?
DYLAN: Yes! Yes!! I do. Yeah, I really, really do. And Zelie [Bullen] as well. Their mom and trainer.
CDM: Do you have a dog yourself?
DYLAN: I've got little dogs, yeah. I've got little babies. You?
CDM: I don't sadly, but it's my life goal to adopt a dog one day.
DYLAN: You should. Do you want one? You should get one!
CDM: I'm gonna just tell everyone: Dylan O'Brien told me to get a dog, so I'm getting a dog now.
DYLAN: <laughs> I'm just part of this major life decision for you, forever now.
CDM: Social media can be such a vanity project, but I love that you only have Twitter, and use it mostly just for helping give a platform to important human right issues and sharing your love for Taylor Swift and Harry Styles. What are your favourite Taylor Swift and Harry Styles songs?
DYLAN: Oh my goodness. Like ever? For Harry, from Harry's last album, 'Watermelon Sugar', obviously. I think my my favourite one of his though is... What's it called? I can hear it in my head. They sing it on 'American Idol' all the time.Falling'! That's a huge one for me. T Swift, I mean, it's amazing - give any of the rest of us like six months in quarantine and we look back on it and we're like, 'Shit, I should have done more,' but give Taylor six months in quarantine and she writes fifty hit songs. It's incredible. Off 'Folklore', I think 'Mirrorball' doesn't get enough credit. I'm a big 'Mirrorball' fan. I love 'My Tears Ricochet', and 'Mad Woman', 'Epiphany', 'The 1'.
CDM: Basically the whole album.
DYLAN: Yeah, I really liked that one. There's so many more, but those are my highlights.
Tumblr media
CDM: You used to be in a band, Slow Kids At Play, right? Would you ever want to get back into music professionally again?
DYLAN: I still play all the time, and I still play with friends who play as well. Even those guys. They're all still my good friends. We actually had a reunion show in 2019 and it was really cool. We jammed in our friend's garage for our hometown friends. Music will always be a part of my life. I always try to not let it be one of those things that you lose in life. I think that's important to do. If it's not your primary thing, it's sometimes easy to. Often years pile up and then you're like, 'Oh, man, I haven't done this thing that I love in so long, like, I should build that into my routine.' So yeah, I'll always play drums and always jam with friends and play. And yeah, it'd be cool to be in a band again. Maybe someday. Or even just to play a show again, like even just to sit in for someone would be awesome.
CDM: Then maybe you can come to New Zealand on tour.
DYLAN: On tour?! I don't think I'd get to that level, but I like that you have aspirations for me.
CDM: Why is it important to you to use your platform for good?
DYLAN: I think that's influenced by the time that we're in. Also coinciding with a time that I went through in my life and just sort of getting older. And for me, it just feels right in terms of the things that I want to use it for, or try to support, or bring to life, or amplify, or bring a light to, and I guess it's influenced by my own learning and growing and trying to be more involved in this stuff and educate myself on it. It sort of just mirrors that a little bit, and I do think it's important.
CDM: Thank you for your time today. And thanks for telling me to get a dog.
DYLAN: Go do it! Send me a pic when you get them. It was such a pleasure talking to you, thanks so much.

Alright boys, girls, and nonbinary folks of the world. It’s 5:36am (1/30 when I first started) as I decide to give up on my attempt to continue to focus on learning statistics, avoid studying for my two upcoming midterms, and put off my two actual essays for two different classes.
Instead we’re going into a dive about ✨ KazuFuuma ✨ . Is this me telling you you gotta ship it? No of course not, you’re entitled to your own ships! You don’t really gotta care about it as a ship. But I do want people to recognize it’s THERE canonically, and how disregarding it is extremely unfair to Kazuki as a character particularly. Also, I’m working on the assumption anyone clicking this at least knows the bare bones about what KazuFuuma (ex. You know they are a ship of Kazuki/Fuuma from Dolce, you know they are childhood friends, you know who Dolce is, you know about Honeyworks, etc.) I’ll be making references to specific things, but I won’t always go into heavy detail. Might just hope you know it or take my word for what it is, and go into analyzing it. Some I’ll put direct references to find, but some I’ll trust you can find it yourself. If you somehow read this MAMMOTH and want reference to a specific thing mentioned, hmu I can help you find it!!
Also I hate tumblr formatting sm if you legit wanna read this 7 page essay but hate tumblr format lmk I'll add it as a google doc link instead too. anYWHO
Before actually getting into the meat of things lemme preface some stuff.
Again it’s like almost 6am so this will be disorganized and very train of thought (and likely long due to the fact when I fly by the seat of my pants I’m known to get unnecessarily extensive). It’s definitely gonna be in large part why it’s important to recognize as a romantic relationship foundation and what about it shapes Kazuki’s character in particular. Maybe a bit of how it’s been built up and its general focus and implications. Dunno yet. We’ll see LMAOO
I say f*ck. Not a lot, just a handful of times. This ain’t something scholarly this is for my own enjoyment so if you don’t like that might not wanna read. And it’s not like spitefully I just curse a lot if you haven’t...read my tags before lol
Again this is through the lens of a Kazuki stan. Of COURSE I’m going to have some level of bias, but if anything that bias may help more than hurt because that means I become FIXATED and think a lot about Kazuki. Which plays into establishing just how important it is that Kazufuuma’s relationship is recognized, especially in a romantic light at this point. Lmfao.
I’ll have a few more prefaces about the actual content below but to keep this from getting too long if you wanna read come below the cut owo
I have extremely limited knowledge of Japanese just taking a few classes in highschool (so like 3 yrs ago) and live in America. This means a lot of my knowledge is gathered through the english translations of the super duper incredible and lovely people in the Honeyworks fandom who provide translations (delaix and takanenene esp have provided so much for me being able to understand Dolce) and my own limited Japanese paired with Google Translate for things that remain untranslated.
This only will be drawing on information I have come in contact with and have access to and making assumptions based on that, most (if not all) of which is in the public domain. So things like the Dolce Manga Volumes released via Animate, exclusive 4komas, and Light Novels are out of my area for the most part (apart from again snippets of translations thanks to this fandom’s godlike and generous translators).
I will not be drawing on anything from the first Dolce album with the exception of Nade Nade. From a meta standpoint, I consider those songs as songs made as performance media as opposed to character explorations. Nade Nade is the exception because (1) it was released a whole year before the album and (2) you can tell it’s explicitly an exploration of Fuuma and Kazuki’s interpersonal relationship even if it’s in a slightly more performance based context than the songs that came out with the Dolce LNs. Easiest parallel I can make to show this is if you held Non-Fantasy, Yume Fanfare, and Samishigariya up against each other, you could tell the difference in intended audience and intended purpose the same way the Dolce 1st album, Nade Nade, and the songs of the LNs do respectively. Even if there is some basis to ground Kazufuuma, for the purposes of this essay I’ll be acting under the assumption the 1st album falls under the Non-Fantasy equivalent category.
THAT WAS A LOT OF PREFACING CONSIDERING LIKE 2 PPL WILL PROBABLY READ IT I just have a tendency to anytime I do anything analytical lay down ground acknowledgements for myself to work on just...cuz it makes me feel less guilty for any accidental misinformation even if I’m writing towards my future self to read lolll IM SORRY WITHOUT FURTHER TO DO HERE’S THE BRAIN DUMP
First let’s go ahead and establish why it needs to be recognized as an important relationship. Again, I’m a Kazuki stan. He’s my favorite character not only of Dolce but also of the entire Honeyworks series, and as much as I love him for reasons outside the ship, whether you like it or not Kazufuuma is an essential aspect of his character and narrative. Of course there’s the fact that him and Fuuma are childhood friends, so that’s going to in part define their characters and interactions with each other and those around them. They’re both going to be relevant to one another and important to one another’s stories to an even greater extent than the rest of the members of Dolce. But on Kazuki’s side at least, it’s an EXTREME amount. A running plotpoint in Dolce Diary is the sheer amount of dedication Kazuki has to Fuuma and how much his thoughts and decisions are influenced by Fuuma, whether it be how he feels happiest spending time with Fuuma, how he decided to get his piercing to represent he wanted to protect Fuuma, how he doesn’t want to dislike food so he can eat what Fuuma dislikes, etc. Not to mention running jokes about his borderline overprotectiveness and downright possessiveness of Fuuma, how proud he is when Fuuma gets praised, or that one 4koma that literally explicitly states he can read Fuuma’s mind when he thinks motherfucking ‘dirty thoughts’ about his childhood friend (Fuuma). I still don’t know what the fuck to make of that last bit. Genuinely. Or the fact it’s a fucking running joke. As in it’s not a one off. It’s been brought up multiple times. Kazuki what the fuck.
That’s not to say that he doesn’t have character outside of Fuuma or he doesn’t interact with people other than Fuuma. He’s great friends with Sara, Girisha, and Kippei and is shown time and time again to have fun interactions with all of them, generally acting as the best support friend for every member of the group, not Fuuma alone. For instance how he helps Kippei with his self confidence issues or stays over at Sara’s to protect him from a cockroach (which he fails at lol). Nor is that to say all his interactions involving Fuuma focus solely on his devotion to Fuuma, especially in instances where the manga focuses on Dolce as a group dynamic (though even in that setting there are times where jokes about his devotion are thrown in). He’s kind, he’s stupid, he’s friendly, he’s an amazing character in his own right, and I love him for all those reasons. But that doesn’t change the fact a major part of his character and his character interactions are rooted in Fuuma, and arguably some of his most interesting, eccentric, and notable behaviors and traits revolve around Fuuma (again the mind reading for example).
Hell let’s take it one step further. If you look at the character bios of the Dolce members, you get everyone’s motives for being an idol and interests. Of them, Kazuki is the only one to have another character mentioned directly, not to mention that supporting Fuuma is explicitly stated to be his primary motive as to why he became an idol. Not even Fuuma’s sister is mentioned, though two arguments can be made for this. The first would be that Fuuma’s backstory about wanting to fulfill his dream for himself and his sister was decided later to explain Fuuma’s choice to crossdress though it can be argued it was intentionally done to leave it as a reveal at a later date, to which I would argue I don’t think this backstory was a choice in post. While Fuuma’s dedicated Dolce Diary extra exploring that backstory was released a little less than a year after Dolce was revealed, the preview to set up Fuuma’s backstory was actually the first thing released after the character bios on the Dolce Official Twitter page if you exclude a drawing of Dolce from Yamako. The second argument could be that information about his sister was intentionally withheld to set up the reveal when Fuuma’s extra released to explore it. However, going by that logic (which I do agree with), that would also mean that Fuuma’s inclusion and importance in Kazuki’s character bio also set up his dedicated extra, which I don’t think would be incorrect to assume considering what his actual extra turned out being.
Which brings me to the thing that makes it inexplicable to write off the romantic implications behind Kazufuuma: Kazuki’s dedicated Dolce Diary extra, Suki. I shipped Kazufuuma before even knowing of Suki, sure. But the fact that Suki even exists is a shock to me and drove into me the fact that Kazufuuma wasn’t just my own projection. Again, it’s not a surprise that Fuuma shapes Kazuki’s life. They’re childhood friends, of course they’re going to be important to each other. But this extra explicitly brought Kazuki’s feelings towards Fuuma under a direct spotlight. At first I was thinking oh, this extra was just to acknowledge the fact that Kazuki and Fuuma’s relationship can have romantic implications, but the end of it the conclusion that we got was that it didn’t matter what type of “like” he felt for Fuuma. Originally, I thought it wasn’t anything more than saying there are all types of like, and it doesn’t always need to be explicitly defined, but I appreciated the fact they were aware that they were writing Kazuki in a way that conveyed romantic implications.
Then I thought about it because, again, I love Kazuki of course I’m going to think about his character extra, and realized...that’s not how these character extras have worked. There are only three character extras out as far as I know and have read: Fuuma, Kippei, and Kazuki. If we look at Fuuma and Kippei’s, each extra had a conclusion, sure, but they didn’t have a resolution. Rather, they were simply setting up explicitly what each character’s primary character arc and conflict were. Fuuma’s extra brought attention to the fact that he’s particularly a crossdressing idol by exploring the motives behind it. His choice to be a crossdressing idol is constantly under fire both by himself and the world around him. He’s not immune to those who consider his crossdressing strange, and a part of his story is both finding people who accept his decision to crossdress and to succeed for himself as a crossdressing idol. It’s an essential part of how we understand and define him as a character and it’s a central part of how he interacts with the world around him. For Kippei, it lays the severity of his insecurity under the spotlight and his journey and motives for improving himself. Again, this isn’t something isolated and resolved in the extra; his extreme insecurity and negativity is constantly affecting how he interacts with practically everyone from his fellow Dolce members to his fans despite the fact in all honesty? He’s fucking insanely talented in his own right, his own brother mentioning how smart he is and how he has amazing reflexes. For Kippei, his negativity is an essential part of how we understand and define him and central to how he interacts with the world as much as Fuuma’s decision to crossdress is to him.
Which brings us back to Kazuki, of course. In his dedicated extra, in the chapter that’s supposed to explore and establish and bring attention to an essential part of his character, the aspect of himself under investigation is how he feels about Fuuma. It’s not just how he behaves around Fuuma, it’s explicitly an exploration of his feelings, on top of the fact it’s explicitly an exploration about whether or not he likes Fuuma r o m a n t i c a l l y. Literally the conflict is spurred on by someone outright asking “Do you like him?” and having to clarify “I mean romantically.” What they decided to focus on for Kazuki’s character and emphasize and establish is that Kazuki’s like towards Fuuma toes the line between friendship and romance. His ambiguous feelings towards Fuuma (if we leave them inconclusive as Suki did) are just like Fuuma’s crossdressing and Kippei’s insecurity in the sense the weight of whatever those feelings may be are seen in how he interacts with the world around him and influences his behaviors. It would be another story if they introduced the potential and shut it down all within the extra, because then his central conflict would to me be less directly open to romantic potential and more simply about how his arc was meant to explore the dynamic of the behavior of an extremely dedicated best friend. The fact that he may be romantically attracted to Fuuma or may be only platonically dedicated to Fuuma is instead something that looms over Kazuki in the same way Fuuma’s decision to crossdress constantly looms over him. It’s what Dolce wanted to point to and say this is Kazuki’s central character conflict and central arc: exploring what type of feelings he has towards Fuuma.
Sure, it can be argued that there’s only three Dolce Diary character extras, there’s not enough to be sure about that being the purpose of the extras unless we get the other two’s extras. First, at this point I honestly don’t know if or when they’re going to release an extra revolving around Sara and Girisha just because not only has it been over a year and a half since the latest Dolce Diary Character Extra (Kazuki’s) was released despite the gap between the first and latest Dolce Diary Character Extra (Fuuma’s and Kazuki’s) were within a year of release but also because the Dolce 4komas and comics they’ve been posting to Twitter have decreased (last one being over half a year ago) potentially due to them deciding to focus on releasing Dolce manga content through the purchasable volumes instead. (This is not particularly related to the Kazufuuma argument, just wanted to put out there my two cents on what Sara and Girisha’s extra/focal arc would be. Based on a large part of the Dolce Diary in conjuncture with Can’t an Idol Fall in Love, I’d argue Sara’s would be his journey to regain his passion for performing, and if it’s not that I’d say it’d be coming out of his self-imposed isolation and opening up to people again. As for Girisha, I have less of a concrete idea but I’m assuming it’d be something pertaining to how people often misconceive him whether it be in tandem with his determination, his optimism and sociability, or his stupidity/ability to ignore those misconceptions and work past them. But Girisha is treated like the comedic relief 90% of the time so I’m not entirely sure, but his primary conflict is definitely rooted in misconceptions of him being his roadblock imo. #MoreGirishaContentPlz) That being said, I personally feel like the three are already enough evidence, especially considering it would be honestly even more cruel for Kazuki’s character-centric extra to be focusing on something that wasn’t essential to his character and character arc, anyway. And though it’s not explicitly stated that these chapters are extras exploring a central character, you can kind of tell based on how they are (to my knowledge) the only Dolce Diary updates with cover/title cards each which include their focal character front and center. So working off that fact, the Kazuki-centric chapter established that a pillar to his narrative was his feelings towards Fuuma and that those feelings are still open to romantic potential.
But if you follow me, this is why up until Can’t an Idol Fall in Love With Another Idol’s release, I was terrified of them writing that off. I would have been ok if it was just an arc that was given attention then continued to actively work in the background, as all the character arcs have been over all of Dolce’s content. The fact that they might be giving Fuuma a love interest and giving Fuuma a love arc while Kazuki’s feelings were still up in the air and were still the primary highlighted narrative for him would have been fucking scuffed. To me, it would be like… why would they make him so Fuuma-centric to the point that even his dedicated chapter was not just focused on Fuuma but focused on the ambiguity and potential of him having romantic feelings for Fuuma, yet reduce him to being Fuuma's designated right-hand man. Don’t get me wrong, friendships are just as important as romantic relationships. But again, rather than conclude Kazuki’s answer in Suki to be that his feelings were of friendship, they left it open ended and allow audience members to be actively aware that Kazuki’s feelings towards Fuuma still had potential to be romantically coded. It would just be so weird to quickly close off that narrative by giving Fuuma a love interest as opposed to letting Kazuki conclude it himself. It would be fucking beyond frustrating for me, at least Eventually, I kept trying to drive my hopes that they would explore Kazuki’s narrative at all down to the ground because it was a Fuuma-centric novel; maybe if anything they’d explore those feelings in his own novel after the fact. But then they kept having little drops here and there of Kazuki being even the slightest bit relevant and I’d go back to questioning “Are??? They??? Is this on purpose??? Do they know what they’re doing or are they just doing this because Kazuki’s just so important to Fuuma as his best friend that he’s there as his right-hand I genuinely can’t tell???” And um. Welp.
Safe to say Can’t An Idol Fall in Love sold me on the fact that they know what they’re doing LOL. And to anyone who thinks that Kazuki’s feelings can still be read as ambiguous in CAIFILWAI as opposed to explicitly romantic - whether it be due to a fear they may pull the “I like him as a friend” card or due to the disbelief that they have an explicit mlm main character in the Honeyworks series - I’d like to cover any bases that may make you think this way. If you think it’s just Kazuki acting like a protective friend, why do you think he calls Yui a rival? If you’ve only seen the MV and think it’s ambiguous or can be taken as the "likfe" for friend, then does that mean you think Yui’s feelings toward Fuuma are also ambiguous or as a friend? With the way Yui responds, she is trying to rival Kazuki’s feelings towards Fuuma. She and Kazuki recognize whatever feeling it is that they hold towards Fuuma, both of their feelings are the same type. I don’t think most people would argue that Yui’s confession about Fuuma was one of pure respect and friendship. Plus, if anything I’d argue of the three characters in the MV, Fuuma is the one whose feelings are left the most ambiguous despite him being the central character. It’s heavily implied that he may be forming feelings for Yui, but nowhere is it established either in the song or in the MV, especially if you compare it to Kazuki and Yui’s declarations or if you compare it to Sara’s feelings for Uru in Can’t An Idol Fall in Love. Fuuma’s romantic narrative here is trying to figure out how he feels for Yui, while for Kazuki and Yui they’ve established a rivalry because they both have mutually established they like Fuuma romantically.
If the MV isn’t enough for you and Suki isn’t enough for you for...some reason…??? You can check out the snippets of the light novel which the wonderful takanenene translated: one which revisits the conflict set up in Suki and one that covers the confession scene in the MV in more detail. If the fact that the conflict set up in Suki (aka the lurking feeling of not knowing if all he felt for Fuuma was only platonic or more than platonic) was specifically reestablished in the LN for anyone who didn’t keep up with Dolce Diary didn’t tip you off that it was something important, his behavior in the confession scene as depicted by the LN definitely should have. He’s possessive about his spot by Fuuma’s side. He doesn’t want that spot to be taken by anyone else. Even if he knows that they can help Fuuma, he wants it to be him. And this line: “Kazuki then trails off his words, quietly saying ‘That’s why…’ and then gave Yui a slightly painful smile, his cheeks turning red,” before he declares Yui a rival and states he likes Fuuma. If you can tell me you read that line and are still on the fence about Kazuki’s “like” towards Fuuma being romantic, please message me and I will see how I can get through to you. Like it wasn’t even just a romantically coded confession. It’s just a romantic confession. That “like” is romantic. And I’m so proud that he’s not only come to understand for himself how he feels, but that he’s confident enough to ask the person he sees as a romantic rival to speak in private and not only clarify her feelings for Fuuma but before she can even do that firmly establishes that he loves Fuuma with conviction. Kazuki my boy I’m so proud of you. *sniffs*
And that’s it for establishing Kazufuuma as at least canonically one-sidedly canon and why there’s not only no reason to deny it but also why denying it is a fucking disrespectful move towards Kazuki. He’s a character, sure, but that doesn’t change the fact you shouldn’t write off his struggle to come to be convicted enough to say it out loud. This has been something weighing on him at least a year, if not more (all I know is it started when both he and Fuuma were in some year in middle school). And as a character in a piece of media, I’ve been saying this the entire time, but brushing it off as non-romantic is literally chucking a fucking pillar of his character’s story into the gutter. And to those who may be saying Kazuki’s confession came out of nowhere and is pandering reread this entire fucking essay again I dare you to do it and tell me to my face it’s pandering. Again. Writing off the buildup as pandering is disrespectful to him, disrespectful to his character and narrative, and disrespectful to the wonderful people who have been creating Dolce so diligently and have crafted this narrative for us. Saying his “supposed feelings” and “ambiguous confession” is pandering is like saying Fuuma’s crossdressing is pandering which. If you say either of those I will find you and I will shank you in the fucking gut. Even if you’re not fully into Dolce, recognize these characters are actually very well developed and executed amazingly, as per every Honeyworks character that has come to exist. I don’t blame you if you weren’t aware of the weight of Kazufuuma, but now that you read this I hope you are. That’s mainly what I needed to get out there, but as follows will be me more exploring how Kazufuuma has been built up and generally waving my hand off at where it may be going. If you want you can dip, thanks for reading up to here because I know I repeated a lot because it’s just. So important to drill into your head and has been something I’ve been hung up about constantly. LOL
As for where exactly they’re taking it from this point on, I honestly don’t know. In all honesty, I didn’t even expect them to take it the direction they did. But honestly, I think the direction they went with it is really interesting and better than I could have imagined, in my opinion at least. Honeyworks never ceases to amaze me with their storytelling and narrative choices, and I don’t think there’s any that stand out to me as being severely questionable that they haven’t reapproached at some point down the line. And, again, I think they’re treating this with a lot of care and deserved respect. So I’m just gonna be gushing about how smart they set it up and how smart they’ve been executing it and maybe my own hopes on the direction it could go.
Whether they make Kazufuuma reciprocated I have no real clue or bearings, but to me my gut reaction is they will. Of course, I’m biased, but again if you trace things all the way back to 2018 and step through Dolce’s content and growth from there, I’d say even if they didn’t know if they could execute it like this and see it to fruition, I’d argue that Kazufuuma has been at least heavily implied since the beginning as a relationship they wanted to explore from both sides of the relationship. Obviously I brought up Kazuki’s character bio already, but if you look at the *goes to count* 5th Dolce Diary update already has a joke jabbing at the fact that Kazuki is technically Fuuma’s type (and the way Kippei and Kazuki excitedly react is so cute). The fifth update. And as stated before there are tons of Kazufuuma moments in Dolce Diary, whether it’s played for comedic effect or played straight (and this is post Suki but oh my god I’ve said it before I’ll say it again get yourself someone who looks at you the way Kazuki looks at Fuuma oh my jesus). But song-wise, I mentioned the one Dolce album song I would bring up is Nade Nade and this is where it comes!
Not only is Nade Nade specifically focused on Kazuki and Fuuma’s relationship as opposed to the whole of Dolce despite being the first song, it included the setup/preview of the Fuuma-centric extra prior to the full release of the Fuuma-centric extra itself and was released early as fuck. Literally between the 6th and 7th update to Dolce Diary. Sure, it could be to isolate them as a duo for marketing purposes (they’re very often the two promoted idols together if the whole of the group aren’t included), but the way it’s established as a perspective song as opposed to a general idol duet is what fascinates me. Anyone who didn’t know about Dolce prior and only followed Honeyworks for music would be first introduced to these characters through this song alone, and maybe this is where my Kazufuuma bias comes from but I was one of those people LOL. I thought it was just a cute one-off relationship that they had set up for the purpose of a song and that it was an implied friends-to-lovers story that would never get a conclusion. Also I mistakenly thought Fuuma was a girl oop-. In the full context of Dolce, this song in part helped establish Fuuma and Kazuki more solidly as a unique duo out of all of Dolce, but it also specifically explored through Fuuma’s eyes just how much Fuuma recognizes and appreciates the unwavering support Kazuki gives him to follow his dreams as he wishes. For Fuuma, he loves Kazuki too, though whether it holds any romantic potential in the same way Kazuki loves him has never been explored to nearly the same extent. But Fuuma appreciates how Kazuki’s remained by his side and does everything he can to support him, so Nade Nade explores how his way of expressing his love and thankfulness to Kazuki is by never saying that he needs Kazuki by his side. He’s glad Kazuki’s always been there for him, and his reciprocation takes on the form of being ready to unwaveringly support Kazuki and not ask for more than he already has, even if it meant Kazuki would be leaving his side, despite the fact that he really does wish they could remain together forever just as Kazuki does. The one point he lets himself say something vaguely close to always wanting to stay together, he gets a surprised expression out of Kazuki and says an ambiguous “suki dayo.” Of course, this it much less romantically coded than what we get from Kazuki in Suki and CAIFILWAI, but there is an interesting emphasis put on it nonetheless. Keep in mind, this is all established through the song, which released long before not only Fuuma’s character-centric extra released but also Kazuki’s character-centric extra released, so there is at least a substantial setup for Fuuma’s feelings towards Kazuki’s being strong as well and possibly grow to be reciprocated one day.
I think for me the most fascinating part about Nade Nade is how they tied it back around to Can’t An Idol Fall In Love with Another Idol. Again, without remembering Nade Nade, I still thought CAIFILWAI was brilliantly explored and executed, even if some people would have preferred no love triangle. But honestly, revisiting Nade Nade makes me trust even more the direction they’re taking with this. Whether or not they make Kazufuuma canon mutually (which. Even if they for some inexplicable reason didn’t I’m going down with this ship.), I’m sure they’re putting a lot of thought into the story, because the last bit of Nade Nade directly parallels the misunderstanding that arose from Fuuma mishearing the Kazuki and Yui. Fuuma is resolved to support Kazuki in any area he’s given the chance, and that explicitly includes if Kazuki had some girl he liked, which is what he assumes is going on. The fact that they tied this back around in the form of a misunderstanding was really really smart and Honeyworks is always so good at parallels and references back to their older songs, but for some reason I didn’t expect this. I don’t know how to say why, but the fact that the song that started it all, kicked off both Dolce and Kazufuuma, was directly referenced both visually in the MV with a cameo at the start and narratively despite the central dynamic being predominantly explored in this story in particular was that of Fuuma and another potential love interest and involves said potential love interest for some reason makes me think that (sorry Yui) this is all planned out for Kazufuuma in the grand scheme of things. That being said, I don’t know if me thinking it was planned all along is just me with shipper goggles, but the idea it’s come full circle nearly 3 years later is not shipper goggles and a very very well done parallel in my opinion, whether this trajectory was their plan for Kazufuuma from the beginning or not. Just wanted to gush about that some more.
There’s more I could go into especially if I went into specific details about interactions or specific implications established in Honeyworks' Dolce content about different characters that would be fascinating to explore in relation to and under the lens of Kazufuuma, but I think this is uh...plenty long enough. Plus, I doubt you'll stop seeing Kazufuuma posts from me so those ideas will probably just be miniposts or somethin.
Back to the overarching point of this segment, idk what they’ll do with this story in the end, but do I think Kazufuuma will canon? I’m used to looking at ships that aren’t explicitly apparent with a sliver of skepticism, but all things considered (as I stated before) yeah. I don’t see reason why they wouldn’t now that they’ve explicitly identified there is a romantic dimension to it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Like to me, the setup isn’t something that would be written off as unrequited? And this doesn’t have to play into why I don’t think it will canon, my personal opinion on the Fuuyui relationship (again albeit through the lens of a hard Kazufuuma shipper lmao) has it’s own merits and is really cute, I find it cute in the way I found Koyuhina cute. I personally never really shipped Koyuhina, and especially since they slipped Kotarou into Ima Suki Ni Naru I was more curious about who this kid was and how he played into things I didn’t really see Koyuhina as something that would come to fruition. Similarly, there’s more importance in the overall sense on Kazuki than there is Yui (considering he’s one of the 5 original and focal members of this generation of idols, this would be natural), as well as the fact there’s just way more foundation and exploration in Fuuma and Kazuki’s relationship than there is Fuuma and Yui. As for how much of a balance there is inside the LN itself, the fact that they seem to have spent a substantial amount relaying the foundation of Fuuma and Kazuki’s relationship and re-exploring it (at least in Kazuki’s perspective) at all on top of how much content there is covering their relationship prior to the LN ever since Dolce’s origin just feels like that relationship holds more weight. Pretty much Kazufuuma feels more established as a priority in general. The way I personally hope Fuuyui plays out is whether they wind up holding mutual feelings or not or whether Fuuma doesn’t feel that way towards Yui is they get a relationship akin to Kotarou and Arisa. Albeit, Kotarou and Arisa never viewed each other in a romantic light, but they had mutual respect and solidarity. That’s the type of friendship I hope comes out of Fuyui. And considering there hasn’t been a break-up in any Honeyworks’ canon relationships (nor do I expect there to be… they’re all perfect for each other LMAO) it would actually be interesting if Fuuyui get together but don’t endgame and Kazufuuma is established as the inseparable endgame after some realization or another, though I don’t expect them to go that route nor do I know if that’d be the best way to go about it anyway. Also final point, Honeyworks seems to have a thing for childhood friends trope anyway soooooo owo All in all, don’t know where they’re taking it, just excited to see where it goes.
TL;DR of this *counts* 7 page essay, stan Kazufuuma. Not gonna proof this. Maybe I’ll edit and repost but yall are getting a confusing clusterfuck of ramblings over 2-3 hr periods of me writing across 3 different days at around 5am each day. Uh. If you got this far like and subscribe and-- jk plz reply to this mammoth anywhere you see fit or tell me if you have stuffs to add or counter or whatnot I like hearing people talk about Kazufuuma ;w; I am Kazuki and Kazufuuma brainrot can you tell after reading this? No? Lemme just remind you I’m K--

GraSSS Test Accomplishment!
I never expected to nab an SSS during this round of tests, so imagine my surprise when I was approaching the 20K score! I worked hard this past two weeks to get this, and I’m so happy to say I did it, and I’ll admit, I do want to share it with the world after all the frustrating battles I’ve done. 😆
Tumblr media
What I’m even happier about is the fact I won with a team that is at lv85 maximum!
Tumblr media
If you’re curious on how I got SSS exactly, I have an explanation under the cut~
Team Composition
To start off my explanation, all of my cards have magic levels at 10/10 except for dorm Cater, whose magic levels are at 5/10. So this is a team that will drain your madol, but it is a team worth investing on.
Now for the buddies, I have 7 buddies in total, all of them maxed out:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dorm Riddle is pretty obvious: with his typing being double fire, and M1 dealing 20-21k overall dmg and his DUO dealing at least 27k dmg in total, he is essential in attaining SSS.
A lot of basic grass teams you’ll find online may utilize lab Azul instead of robe Azul. This is due to his fire typing, which provides an elemental advantage and resistance to this test. But I used robe Azul mainly because right now, he deals much more damage than lab Azul, especially with his ATK buddy with Floyd.
Dorm Cater is placed in there mainly to boost Riddle’s ATK stat. I won’t lie when I say that usually, that’s really his only purpose, but maxing out his M2 turned out to be essential in attaining SSS, so I quickly scrambled up all my resources during the item drop boost to max him out.
Dorm Floyd is here due to his fire/grass typing. He boosts robe Azul’s ATK stat, and he has a DUO with Jade, which adds an additional DUO on the team.
You might ask why dorm Jade is in this test with his water/fire typing. This is because his DUO is fire, which will deal a lot of damage, perfect for this test. Having more DUOs increases your score, so adding him in along with Floyd contributed to a high score. His magic 1 boosts his duo too, which makes him even more powerful, but you have to deal with being knocked down a peg with the elemental disadvantage. However, in this particular round, I didn’t make use of his magic at all!
Enemies
Now, what made this journey to SSS long and arduous was the gimmicks the opponent had this round.
Deuce has a medium ATK down lasting for 2 turns, which takes out 35% of the damage that both of the cards you send out normally deal. This prevents you from dealing the ideal amount of damage that will get you to SSS. You do not want this to appear at all.
Lilia has a continuous heal (2890 HP) for 3 turns. The only way I could have gotten SSS was for him to heal starting the first turn so that I can use all my strongest attacks without killing too early. If I killed too early, this would have resulted in a lower score. I’ll explain this more in-depth later.
Jack has a small damage down that lasts for 1 turn, which frankly isn’t too concerning. If your team is barely clutching on for the next rank, it can be very inconvenient, but my team had the capability of hitting SSS even with the small debuff (probably unless a DUO was the one hit, but even so, this debuff doesn’t appear as often).
Strategies
I actually had two strategies for this test, in case the game decided to give me a list of skills that I might not have wanted.
First strategy makes use of Jade’s M1. This means Jade’s ATK stat gets buffed up by 35% for three turns. This means that his DUO can get buffed up too. Normally, at Lv80, Jade’s duo deals 15k dmg in total. With the buff, Jade’s duo deals around 20k dmg.
This is how the ideal attack order would have gone:
T1: Jade M1 [water] (around 2.7k-2.9k dmg) / Floyd M1 [fire] (around 7.5k-8k dmg)
T2: Riddle M1 (around 20-21k dmg) [fire] / Cater M2 [fire] (around 12.5-12.7k dmg)
T3: Jade DUO [fire] (around 20k dmg due to ATK buff) / Floyd DUO [grass] (around 12k dmg)
T4: Azul M2 [grass] (around 11.2k-12k dmg) / Riddle DUO [fire] (around 27k-28k dmg)
All in all, this would have netted me at least 113,400 dmg dealt, give or take a few numbers.
You can actually switch around the attack order for turns 1 and 2, depending on what the game gives you, but turns 3 and 4 must have the duos, no switching around (you can interchange Jade and Floyd, though, but not Azul and Riddle).
Now, this is only attainable if a) Deuce does not debuff, b) the attack order isn’t messed up, and c) if Lilia’s heal comes up on the first turn.
I already explained why Deuce debuff isn’t ideal.
As for attack order, it’s possible that you won’t get both tweel duo in T3, which is annoying and you may have to resort with using only one of them or even none at all. Damage loss aside, the loss of one or two duos will affect your score as well, so this isn’t an ideal scenario either. Sometimes, you might not even get Cater’s M2 at all, but his M1, and you may be forced to resort to using that.
Now to explain Lilia heal. The overall enemy HP is 82000. You want to be able to knock down that health bar to around 2k leftover or less even so that Riddle DUO can finish it off and deal an additional 27k dmg (yes, the game still counts that amount of damage even when the opponent is already at 0 HP!). The problem, however, is that, excluding Riddle DUO, the amount of damage you may deal with everyone else is around, let’s say, at least 86400 dmg more or less. This will force you to use Riddle’s DUO before Azul’s M2, which will take out at least 11.2k-12k dmg, leaving you with at least 102k-104k dmg overall. Pretty depressing, right?
But if Lilia heals on the first turn, he will be able to recover 2890 HP per turn for 3 turns, recovering 8670 HP in total! Adding to the base total HP of the opponent, they will have overall 88670 HP. Since that number is bigger than 86400, then there will be leftover HP of around 2270 by the time all your attacks up till Azul M2 are used and Riddle DUO can deal the finishing blow.
Second strategy does not make use of Jade’s M1. In lieu of his M1, he will be replaced by Azul’s M1, which deals around 6.8k-7.4k dmg. This was the strategy that I used in this test.
This is how the ideal attack order would have gone:
T1: Azul M1 [null] (around 6.8k-7.4k dmg) / Floyd M1 [fire] (around 7.5k-8k dmg)
T2: Riddle M1 [fire] (around 20k-21k dmg) / Cater M2 [fire] (around 12.5k-12.7k dmg)
T3: Jade DUO [fire] (around 15k dmg due to no buff) / Floyd DUO [grass] (around 12k dmg)
T4: Azul M2 [grass] (around 11.2k-12k dmg) / Riddle DUO [fire] (around 27k-28k dmg)
All in all, this would have dealt at least 112,000 dmg, more or less. In the screenshot of my score, however, I dealt around 114,937 dmg.
Like the first strategy, turns 1 and 2 attacks can be switched around. Jade and Floyd duo can be swapped, but not Azul and Riddle.
Really, the main reason why I came up with this strategy was to accommodate the randomness of the skills I get for each turn. I’m not going to be so lucky that I’ll get Jade’s M1 on turns 1 or 2 sometimes, so instead, I may have to resort to Azul’s M1. This strategy can also help in leaving with more HP leftover on your side, which is actually a factor in attaining a high score, though the amount of damage you deal still takes priority.
Like the first strategy, this ideal amount of damage is only attainable if a) Deuce debuff does not appear, b) attack order is not messed up, and c) Lilia heals on T1.
I hope this isn’t too confusing. 😅 If this helps you in any way in attaining a higher score, I’m happy to help~!

VE YOU DO REALISE YOU ASKED FOR EVERY QUESTION RIGHT???? AGDJFKFKS
I’m only going to answer these for Anne since Ve is from the amrev fandom, and Anne is my amrev OC.
Tumblr media
1) Anneliesia Amélie-Carston. I hyphenated it for my own purpose, but it wasn’t uncommon to have two last names back then. Anneliesia is a french name, as Anne is half french, but she finds it pretentious so will usually go by Anne. Amélie was her mother’s last name, her grandfather insisted the children inherit it, and Carston is her father’s last name.
2) simply Lady Carston as she is the daughter of a nobleman.
3) Anne didn’t grow up having a great childhood as she didn’t really get along with her father, and her mother died when she was (my brain is rotting here) I’m going to say 11/12, in childbirth. Her fond memories were most likely spending time with the Washington’s and her other town centred friends.
4) she had a great relationship with her mother, not so much with her father as he was quite controlling and didn’t agree with how Anne was raised to be as independent as she could. (He basically held the typical 1700 views). After her mother had two sets of twins, Anne’s father actually continuously forced her to have more children, as twins were a mystery to most and some believed them to be abnormal, he wanted to ‘cancel out’ the abnormalities in their family. So you get the gist of what he was like.
5) which brings us down here. Anne has nine living siblings and one who died minutes after birth. I have them in order of birth. (Highlighted the sets of twins in matching colours) Anne gets on well with John and her younger siblings, excluding Nicholas, but her relationship with her other older brothers and sister is slightly taboo.
John 'Jay' Jr Amélie-Carston - 18/06/49
Cecile Amélie-Carston - 18/06/49
Henri Amélie-Carston - 23/11/51
Sébastien Amélie-Carston - 17/07/1753
Anneliesia Amélie-Carston - 02/05/1755
Nicholas Amélie-Carston - 29/10/1757
Gabriel Amélie-Carston - 29/10/1757
Charles Amélie-Carston - 30/06/1759
Clovis Amélie-Carston - 31/01/1761
Pierre-Paul Amélie-Carston - 1763-(dead)
Tabitha Amélie-Carston - 6/04/1766
6) Anne enjoyed learning from her mother and eldest brother, but otherwise an extensive education wasn’t to be wasted on her. She wasn’t the oldest child, nor the oldest girl, therefore her only purpose was to marry well and continue the cycle of bearing children. She was taught to read, write, dance, play an instrument, usually the basics for a women of her status.
7) she had a few friends in the nearing towns, but her closest friend was definitely Jacky as he condoned her rebellious behaviour and even joined in on the rash acts. They were a chaotic pair.
8) her father owned hunting dogs, but they were never necessarily Anne’s. She did have a horse however, gifted to her by her eldest brother when he left for boarding school and he couldn’t take it with him. (I don’t have a name for the horse though- perhaps I can ask the server)
9) she gets on very well with horses and dogs, but otherwise she hasn’t been exposed enough to any animals to get much of an idea.
10) Anne is usually wary around children because she finds them sticky and irritable, but she has exceptions for Jacky’s siblings. However, she does want her own children, although she does have a fear of child bearing due to how much her mother was forced to conceive, and her eventual death.
11) I don’t know think so, I suppose back then the general rule was don’t eat tomatoes lmaooooo
Thank you Ve lmao, I still can’t believe you asked for every question- 💛

The Long Way Around ~ Chapter 6
Link to previous part: https://bonjour-rainycity.tumblr.com/post/623283543296049154/the-long-way-around-chapter-5
Pairing: Jasper x Reader
Word count: 1954
Warnings: None
Jasper’s POV
I sigh, trying to concentrate on the papers before me. Once Y/n came into our lives, I had decided to halt my studies at school. She arrived during the summer so it wasn’t like anyone would notice my sudden, and perhaps suspicious, disappearance from class, but my family agreed that we could really only afford for one or two of us to deviate from our cover story. So once classes resumed in the fall, all but I continued attendance at the local university. Once she found out, Y/n had lamented at my loss of education and insisted I continue studying at least something of interest. She didn’t seem to understand how little a year or two out of school would affect me, given how many times I’ve gone through both high school and varying post-graduate degrees. But still, the gesture was kind so I agreed and have sent spent a few hours every day since that conversation brushing up on my world history. Right now I’m camped in the basement where we keep our extensive library (excluding the volumes found in Carlisle’s office and our individual rooms) digging through first-hand accounts of Otto von Bismarck’s rise to influence. It’s interesting enough, but still, my attention is elsewhere. At least half of my focus is upstairs, carefully monitoring Y/n’s moods. She’s become much more even as time passes, but still, not keeping tabs on her makes me nervous. Newborns are so unpredictable and so reliant on their emotions that at any moment, she could react badly and cause herself or someone else harm. It’s not that I don’t trust her, it’s just that I know how this goes. And I would hate myself if anything happened to my family or Y/n, especially if I could have done something to prevent it.
She’s been struggling recently with missing her family and friends, and that’s always difficult. For most of us, we had been immediately taken away from our loved ones plus had been changed during a time when news recordings and social media didn’t exist. Y/n does not have that luxury. At least once a week, she’ll find some news source with reports from her parents or come across a social media page of one of her friends. It breaks her heart. Secretly, I had gone to Carlisle and discussed the benefits of moving. It only adds to Y/n’s pain being only a handful of miles from the people she loves, and perhaps moving away would aid in her healing. But Carlisle shot the idea down, citing our advantageous location and the dangers of moving cross-country with a volatile newborn. So, instead, I sought to distract her. One of the reasons she felt bad about stopping my schooling is because her own had been paused suddenly due to her untimely death. So, I loaned her a few of my old textbooks, which she has been studying relentlessly. Carlisle also offered his services, and it’s not uncommon to find Y/n perched in one of the chairs in his office grilling him about everything under the medical sun. All in all, she’s adjusting well. Still, I worry. At the drop of a dime, her control could slip or her emotions could get the best of her. That’s why, when I feel her switch from a relaxed, curious state to one of annoyance, I take notice, and listen.
“You really need to let your human life go, Y/n. At this point, you’re only dragging out your own pain. There’s nothing you can do about it anyway. That life is as lost to you as your soul.”
Now I feel annoyance at my brother’s predictable morose attitude. Even to this day, Edward grapples with losing humanity and, according to him, his soul, and often pushes those feelings onto others. As far as I can tell, Y/n doesn’t believe vampirism has damned her, and I would like to keep Edward from putting those thoughts in her head. They simply aren’t true.
Y/n responds with a biting tone. “They’re my loved ones, Edward, not yours. Please don’t tell me how to deal with losing them. If you don’t like my thoughts, stay out of my head.”
Rosalie chimes in, always interested in fighting with Edward. “Really, Edward, back off. You’re the one who helped Bella keep her precious humans in our life and risked our exposure, so you’ve no room to talk here.” It was the wrong thing to say. Y/n’s anger flares.
“Hypocrite! That is such a double standard!”
I feel Edward’s anger increase too, and I know they’re filling a keg with powder and readying their matches. I hurry upstairs.
“It’s different. Bella was going through a lot and-”
“And I’m not?” Y/n’s incredulity is plain.
Rosalie scoffs.“What precious Bella wants, she gets. The rest of us are expected to live by a different set of rules.”
“Okay guys, let’s take this down a notch.” Emmett intervenes as I get to the top of the stairs.
“I agree.”
Y/n’s eyes flicker to mine, and I register her guilt. Why?
Whatever’s in her mind causes Edward to scoff. “You’re not bothering him with your emotions, he lives for this stuff. It makes him feel like he has some kind of purpose.”
“You are so pessimistic,” Y/n groans, putting her head in her hands. “Whatever. I am not doing this anymore. I’m going for a walk. Jasper?”
Immediately, I’m at her side, not even needing to think about joining her. It’s just natural, at this point, to be with her.
She smiles tightly as we walk out the back door, and I can tell she’s trying to calm herself down. “Sorry I interrupted your studying.”
I shrug, honestly not bothered at all. “Don’t worry about it. It’s nice to get outside….The leaves are just starting to change.”
Now, her smile becomes much more natural. “Aren’t they gorgeous? It’s even better now that I can see them with these new eyes. And I can hear the crunch when I step on them and the smell of fall is just,” she sighs, a dreamy look in her eye. But then I feel the sadness creep back in.
I’m hesitant to ask, not wanting to upset her further. “Are you alright?”
She bites the inside of her cheek and looks away. When she finally speaks again, her voice is unsteady. “I just really, really miss my family. It’s hard to leave them and come to terms with…what I am. And of course I’m so grateful that I have all of you,—well,” she chuckles darkly, “today I could do without Edward but that’s beside the point.” She trails off, lost in her thoughts.
I look into the horizon, enjoying the light of the setting sun but regretting the added sadness she’s suffered on behalf of my brother. “I’m sorry he upset you. I can talk to him tomorrow-”
“Oh, that’s alright,” she waves a hand, smiling softly. “Isn’t that what you’re supposed to do with your siblings? Argue?”
I chuckle, nodding. We certainly do argue.
She turns to face me then, stopping her walking. “Thank you though.”
The sunlight filters through the trees, hitting our skin and illuminating us. She gasps softly, and I sense her wonderment. She’s seen what the sun does to our skin many times, but it never ceases to amaze her. It’s really sweet. Slowly, she reaches up and lightly trails her fingers over the side of my face where the sun hits. I freeze, not wanting to make any movement that would cause her to stop. I enjoy her touch much more than I would like to admit. It feels so nice to be handled so softly, compared to the harshness I’d become accustomed to in my past. I close my eyes.
“Beautiful,” she breathes, letting her hand fall.
I smile, enjoying this moment. “It is one of the more mesmerizing attributes of this life.”
Now, I feel her playfulness. “You know what else is great? The speed.”
My mood soon matches hers. “Wanna race?”
She frowns, turning in the direction of the house. “Oh, no I think we should-”
And then she’s off, laughing wildly. I shake my head, realizing I’ve just been tricked and, with a laugh of my own, take off at a sprint after her.
{***}
“Jasper,” she starts, sitting down on the rock next to me. “Where are all the other vampires?”
“All over, really, though most tend to avoid especially sunny cities.” I shake water from the river off my hands. A few seconds prior, I’d reached in to grab some pebbles to skip. “We’re the largest coven in the area. Anyone else around here is likely a loner or part of a nomad coven.”
She pauses, thinking. “Doesn’t anyone ever come to visit?”
“Very rarely, and Alice can sometimes give us some warning, though not always. But the nomads that visit usually leave very quickly. We don’t allow them to hunt in this area, as it could raise suspicion and cause problems for us. That tends to make extended stays unappealing.”
“Well, what about friends?”
I smirk. “Vampires don’t really have friends.”
This confuses her. “Then what are you and your family? You’re certainly not just acquaintances.”
I smile, thinking of the best way to explain the complicated relationships between vampires. “Let me rephrase: most vampires don’t have friends. Carlisle theorizes that, because we don’t drink human blood, we’re less animalistic, a little less reliant on our instincts. Instincts that, under normal circumstances, would keep us from forming bonds because other vampires generally pose a threat to getting a meal.” She nods, understanding. “Because we are slightly more, human, for a lack of a better word, we do enjoy friendships and closer relationships, like I have with my adopted siblings. Realistically, though, that’s not how it works at all. For normal vampires, the only type of close relationship they experience is between mates. Those relationships last forever though, so I guess it’s enough to satisfy the need for connection.”
Y/n raises her eyebrows, disbelieving. “You’re telling me immortal vampires are monogamous for life?”
I chuckle. “Apparently, once you find the right one it’s just natural. I’ve seen it happen, felt the feelings they feel. It’s intense.”
She considers this, but says nothing further. Until, “have you ever felt that way?”
Subconsciously, I study the scars on my hands. “I thought I did.”
“With Maria,” she guesses. Y/n knows most of my history, so it’s no surprise that she’s able to put the pieces together of my involvement with Maria. Strangely, I find myself wishing that I could say no, that I’ve never been with with anyone like that. Or, at least, that I’d never been involved with Maria like that.
“Have you,” I counter to distract from my sudden regret.
She shakes her head, a soft smile playing on her lips. “My human memories are fading by the day, but I’m pretty sure the answer is no. My twenty years of life were nothing to write home about.”
Now it’s my turn to smile, somewhat ruefully. “You’ve got millennia ahead of you. I’m sure at least something notable will occur.”
She chuckles, shrugging. “Perhaps. For now, I should just focus on making it through the rest of this year.”
“We’ll get you through it,” I answer, confident.
She hugs her knees into her chest, feeling peaceful. “I believe you.” Then, her playfulness returns. “But step one should be feeding me, because I’m starving.”
I chuckle, stand, and offer her a hand. She grabs it, allowing me to pull her up. “Lead the way.”
A/n Let me know what you thought of this chapter/the characters and if you would like to be added to the tag list! I hope you all have a good day/night <3

a walk in two worlds | john laurens x reader.
words: 1.8k
warnings: a little bit about slavery just because its john, parent death, fluff and some possibly sexual comments if you think on it
desc: your father is british general whose been called to fight in georgia, with him gone and you alone in new york things are bound to happen, especially after you meet a certain soldier boy.
this is my first hamilton fic and I wanted to say a couple things before it got it started. First of all I am white writer and I write my fics to be inclusive but there may be things that I may not realize are excluding people because I’ve had the privilege of not being excluded so if you notice anything then please message me and I’ll be more than happy to edit it. second i wrote this at 3 am and even if nobody reads it i’ll probably make a pt2 but lemme know.
i kinda picked and choosed what i wanted to use from hamilton and real life so obviously not historically accurate
There’s nothing quite like summer in the city, children running in the streets, the sound of hooves on the brick laid roads, and the hot sun shining down on busy men and women. You had just moved into the city with your father but soon after you arrived your father was called away to join the fight in Georgia. You were left behind with only your housekeeper who functioned as a Nanny when you were a child. Your mother had died when you were very young and your father worked so Joan was the closest thing to family you had. Before your father left he gave you three instructions. One, the city can be a dangerous place for a young beautiful girl, don’t go downtown. Two, if you must stray from the house never go anywhere unaccompanied. Three, the revolutionists are reckless and ruinous, stay away. Your father was a smart man but often worried too much especially for you. It took nearly three days to convince Joan to let you leave the house. “I will come with you then, just let me finish my chores, and then we may go, but we are staying uptown, it’s nice here, awfully quiet too.” She said when she finally caved. You thanked her profusely but unbeknownst to her when she turned her back to you, you slipped out the back door. When your father left he took the carriage with him and the coachman had not yet returned so you had to walk into the city. You weren’t complaining though, the weather was warm and the fresh air was refreshing after a  week of house arrest. As you approached the downtown district of Manhattan you noticed a noticeable drop in wealth due to many of its residents being either college students, revolutionists, or merchants. A young man stood on a soapbox in the city square ranting about the unjust taxes and the recent events in Boston while a large crowd cheered around him. Propaganda flyers were hung on every storefront and street lamp, you took one and quickly shoved it into the bottom of your basket next to a small bag of coins. For about 20 minutes you strolled around going between stands of vendors selling fruits, fans, furniture, and everything in between. You stopped at the stand of a man selling vegetables and began picking out a few. You clearly felt a presence behind you but stayed focused on your task. “What is a pretty young lady like you doin’ in the city all by herself.” The presence spoke smoothly. You looked up from under the brim of your hat to see a man around your age maybe a few years older. His curly black hair was tied up tightly at the back of his head. Your eyes then traveled to the rich blue coat he proudly wore. “Minding my own business.” You said flatly as you turned back to what you were doing. “You know there are a lot of dangerous people out here who might want to take advantage of such a pretty girl.” He said clearly thinking he was very smooth. “Is that so?” You responded as you paid for your goods. Maybe you were naive but he didn’t seem threatening, he seemed young, reckless, and a flirt which could be just as bad. “Yes ma’am, maybe I should be your escort to-” He began again but you cut him off. “What’s your name, sir.” You asked him curtly and for once turned to fully face him. “John Laurens.” He tipped his head to you. “Don’t you have something to protest Mr. Laurens.” You brushed past him and continued down the street but he was quick to follow you. “I’m a wonderful multitasker.” He chuckled softly at his own joke. You wanted to hate him, you wanted to believe everything your father said about revolutionists but this man was charming and had a gravitational pull that was nearly impossible for you to resist. You knew if he stopped following you then you would follow him, you just hoped he didn’t know that. “I’ve never seen you around here before.” “Is that supposed to be a question, Mr. Laurens.” From the side of your vision, you could see the grin on his face, he liked having you riled up. “My father and I just moved uptown.” “So a rich pretty girl.” He said to himself with the full intention of you hearing to which you scoffed. “Am I wrong?” He stepped out in front of you locking his honey brown eyes with yours. You simply rolled your eyes in protest. “That’s what I thought.” His smirk was so genuine and charming it made you smile back to which he beamed brightly. “So what does the pretty girl’s father do for such wealth.” He posed. “Old money.” You stated simply to avoid the topic but he was clearly not satisfied. “He’s a general.” You stared intently over at him to gauge his reaction. John immediately stopped in his tracks and the smirk on his fell. “I take it we’re on different sides of the war.” He nodded slowly not meeting your eyes. His sudden quietness intrigued you, it seemed like that would have only made him mouthier. “That’s right.” Your voice was nearly inaudible but your beg for him not to turn away was loud enough for him to stay even for just a moment longer. You were not content with those being your last words so you continued: “My father believes that the King is a just one.” You chose your words intentionally, hoping he would take the bait yet shocked when he did. “And what do you believe?” You didn’t quite know how to respond to his question. No one had ever asked for your political opinion, especially not a man. “Well,” The small grin was already appearing on your face. “The price of tea is far too high nowadays.” The smile was quick to come to his face though he played it off with a joking scoff and eye roll. “So, does the beautiful young lady have a name?” “Y/n.” “Y/n,” He repeated your words testing it out to see if he liked it, apparently he did because the next thing he asked was where the two of you were headed next. You went to the silversmith, and he talked about growing up on a plantation in South Carolina and the things he saw happen to his father’s slaves. You went to the bakery and he told you his dreams of giving those men their freedom so they could join him in fighting in the war. You found him more endearing the longer you talked to him. You let your guard down and showed him your interest in what he had to say and you no longer tried to hide the laughs and smiles that he pulled out of you. “What about you?” He asked as he held the door to the general store open for you. “What about me?” You asked promptly. “Oh, come on, I’ve done nothing but talk, you have to return the favor.” His smirk grew quickly. You simply rolled your eyes but let yourself smile to show that you found the joke at least a little funny. “There’s not much to tell until two weeks ago I stayed in my home back in London and did what I was asked.” You explained. “Will you grab the jam jar on the top shelf for me?” You could probably reach it but you wanted to see how quickly he would please you. He in fact did follow your request but not before taking a step closer to you, pressing you against the shelf as he reached over you to grab the jar above your head. “You don’t seem like the type to quietly obey.” John’s voice was low, lower than you’d ever heard it before and quiet enough so that you were the only one who heard his words. He did this on the purpose of course, what he said was only for you. He brought his hand down to give you the jar, your hand resting on his for just a moment. That’s when you realized this was the first time you’d touched, and now that’s all you wanted to do and the brushing of hands wasn’t nearly enough. As you went to stutter out an answer the shouting that was coming through the front door pulled both of you out of your moment. “Y/n M/n L/n, there you are, oh my god!” Joan ran straight for you. Her pale cheeks flushed and grey hair falling loose from her low bun. “I thought you’d run away, do you know how upset your father will be?” “Father isn’t here, you don’t have to tell him anything.” You proposed. “Is this your mother?” John interjected as he held his hand out for her to take. “No, she’s my handler.” You said with a hint of annoyance. Joan gave John her hand and he promptly placed a kiss on the back of it, you felt yourself become envious of her hand. Her cheeks turned bright red, you were sure she would tell you about how she hasn’t gotten this much attention from men since she was 20. “Joan this is John Laurens, John Laurens this is Joan.” You nearly groaned out. Joan quickly spoke up again right when you saw her eyes fall on Johns’s coat. “Oh my! Y/n we must be headed home now!” She grabbed your hand and began to drag you to the door. “Joan, Joan!” You shouted for attention before dangling your basket in front of her face. “I’ll pay for these.” She took the basket from your hands. “You wait outside.” She shooed you away. You exited the shop making sure that John was following. “Maybe we should make a run for it.” You turned to John as he chuckled. “I don’t think so, you’ll give the poor woman a heart attack.” He said then a silence fell between you. “I don’t want this to be the last time I see you though.” “Neither do I.” You said softly. “May I write you?” John quickly turned towards you, swooping your hands into his and holding them close to his heart. “Yes.” You nodded as you stared intently and how he held you. “John, this won’t be easy, my father would never-” “I know.” He said simply as he smiled at you and for just a moment you didn’t care about what your father would say. “Alright, Y/n, it’s time for us to head home,” Joan said as she came out the door. “Goodbye, Y/n.” He took your hand and placed a kiss on the back of it. “Goodbye, John Laurens.”

Posting this because it's been sitting in my drafts and we're on Tatariakashi-hen so I wanna get ahead and just repost what I had up on reddit with more coherence.
spoilers for Gou and Saikoroshihen below.
In the post-Matsuribayashi world, the last time we see our kids is Rika and friends in a minivan going to Angel Mort where Shion is waiting. Satoko asks for them to go ahead without her; which seems odd because how else is she going to Okinomiya? I can presume that she either asks Irie for a ride or uses the Hinamizawa bus stop though.
But she wandered into the ritual tool storehouse and found a horn that fell out of the Oyashiro statue that presumably is Eua's vessel. And then things kick off with Satoko's descent into hell.
So this might just be me but while watching Sotsu, I have been getting HUGE Saikoroshi vibes from Satoko's Looper journey because we don't explicitly see her die on-screen when Eua uses her magic. And I want to approach this narrative divorced from Umineko since I'm still a fencesitter about how much is canonly tied to Umineko and not just "haha hidden easter egg go brrrr".
It's possible I read a mistranslated version because I watched a youtube playthrough that sometimes had errors in grammar, but Hanyuu put Rika in a similar situation in order to 'purge Rika of her sins', which presumably has to be the Frederica Bernkastel persona or Dark Rika. Hanyuu deliberately orchestrated every parameter of that dream (I know Rika says it definitely wasn't, but it ended up as nothing more than that due to her decision) and purposely excluded herself from that world so Rika would be forced to make a choice on her own; either return to 'her' miracle world that was stained by sins through committing a sin of her own, or make the best of an unfamiliar sinless world. If she chose the sinless world (which I believe was the choice she made before Hanyuu made her think she actually killed her mother to return... feel free to correct me) she would sin by allowing a world where everybody worked so hard to achieve dissolve into oblivion and become nothing more than a dream. Choosing her world would require an act of Matricide since she had failed to value her parents in the times she was able to go back that far. Regardless of her feelings, she didn't have much certainty because it would be the last loop. And she didn't really learn to value how precious life is until then; in the grand scheme of things, many people died in unfortunate accidents like that all the time and wouldn't have a goddess to put them in the next world in hopes of a better ending.
Technically she didn't ask to become a Looper but Satoko is given these choices but things are switched: either she makes the best of her sinless world (Matsuribayashi is really a world cleansed of sins) and accepts the painful parts of that reality, or she stains these new worlds with sins to create her certain perfect world. Without Hanyuu there is no real Hinamizawa Syndrome and each loop Satoko did always started off after Takano's defeat.
It's a choice she makes with almost complete self-awareness aside from her dismissing every world she destroys as simply a dream.
To get a miracle world, Rika was tasked with preventing any more sins from taking place while Satoko has to taint any number of sinless fragments for an indeterminate amount of loops (or until Rika gives up). I think it's deliberate that we haven't been given any on screen hints that Saikoroshi ever happened so far, because it comes right after Matsuribayashi.
And for what Eua has chosen to tell Satoko, she hasn't indicated at all so far if she also sent Rika back in time with the others. From the chandelier scene on, I have had a gut feeling that she's actually been chasing after the wrong Rika this whole time. Eua never said she also sent Matsuribayashi Rika back into the endless June (or rewinded back time... she most likely jumped fragments), and that would explain why Hanyuu is just a husk; the original one went to sleep in the prime world where the club are all on their way to angel mort with 'our' Rika. This Hanyuu could either be Eua's creation or a remnant from all the times Rika has transferred her consciousness into a new world and taken that Hanyuu's place.
Satoko might wake up from what was a terrible nightmare, and she comes clean to Rika about everything bottled up inside and they actually resolve things without anger or violence. Thus purging the sins she accrued (even if she doesnt do them in reality, they are a malevolent manifestation borne from her emotional turmoil levied at Rika).
Or she might not. Depends on whether you pick 'fantasy' or 'reality'. Suppose this isn't all a hellish nightmare Satoko is having.
In Tataridamashi, it really did seem for a second that both anime AND manga, Satoko contemplated staying in that fragment but only because she chose Keiichi. She calls him Nii-nii, blushing, even wearing an outfit just for him. She stopped clinging to Rika just like she stopped clinging to Satoshi and jumped for Keiichi. Her Prince on a White Horse.
Except I think she realized this alternative happiness far too late into the fragment. Satoko controls who gets the Syndrome but not how it affects them or who they kill specifically.
Judging from the sound of bells and Teppei's glowing red eyes, I'm pretty sure by now Ryukishi lied about Ooishi "naturally" going L5 and attacking the festivalgoers. I think Satoko injected Ooishi, perhaps another one of her experimentation ideas (TAKANO JUNIOR). Satoko was so focused on resetting loops to trap Rika that she never considered the possibility of any external factor changing her mind.
Keiichi's efforts to save her from Teppei (despite her faking it most likely) made her realize she had deceived her friends' trust due to seeing the previous fragments. Keiichi promises to never abandon his friends. Satoko, just this once, lets her heart open up to those words. Except... she can't have a truly perfect ending because things have progressed past the point of return. Satoko never bothered to protect anybody but this time, just like Mion, she decided to spare Keiichi.
The only way to do it is lock him inside the house, and keep the lights off so nobody thinks someone is in there. I don't think she intended to kill Keiichi, especially didn't expect Teppei to come out and nearly kill him. She looked genuinely shocked.
Which says to me that Eua did it. Satoko's seemingly abandoning her original goal that prefaced granting her Looper abilities. She promised all her friends that once Rika was convinced to stay in Hinamizawa, they'd all have a perfect world. So by choosing to spare only Keiichi and letting the rest die in collateral damage, she's betraying them and forsaken them and the original goal.
I doubt Eua has any morals, but if she's the ruler of these fragments and not Hanyuu, having her miko run around disobeying continuity is going to be troublesome to deal with. (Notice that Eua places great emphasis on Hinamizawa Syndrome being real and Rika being a Queen carrier) She might have a hand in driving Satoko's will to break down and culminate into the gutting scene.

Pen...Pals? ~Kenma Kozume X Reader~
Tumblr media
Description-
Okay, so @OIKAWAS (on wattpad) originally made this idea/plot, but I really liked it and (for the time being) they discontinued it, which was really sad to me because I feel like they got Kenma's personality down really well! (Though I do understand why they did it and completely respect their decision) So I just kinda thought I'd put my own little spin on it! Okay, thanks for reading and i hope you enjoy!(This book and all my other ones are gender neutral, I don't like excluding people so if I do make a mistake anywhere then please let me know!) (Also, any art in this book is not mine! I'm not sure who most of the artists are because I got the pictures off of google, but if you do know please tell me so I can give the proper credit!) -Started; March 30th, 2020 (3/30/2020) -Finished; March 30th, 2020 (3/30/2020)
Chapter One;
~Reader's POV~
I walked into class and sat in my desk next to one of my best friends. "Hey.." I yawned out, rubbing my eyes. "Did you stay up late playing video games?" (F/n) questioned with an eyebrow raised. "I didn't say up that late." I told them truthfully. "You say that every time." They told me, rolling their eyes with a small smile on their face.
The teacher walked in as our conversation came to a close. "Alright." The teacher started. "Because in this unit we are going more in depth about Japanese history and we already studied the culture, I thought it would be a fun idea to get a first hand experience with some of the kids that live in Japan. I was lucky enough to get Nekoma High School to agree."
At this, some people started to murmur about how cool and excited this would be. The teacher cleared her throat to get the classes attention and to signify that she wasn't done talking. "Make sure that your letters are appropriate and don't share any personal Information. I will mail them by the end of this week and yes, they are for a grade."
The kid in front of me raised their hand. "Mrs, do we write in English?" The teacher nodded her head as she picked up a tiny box. "Any other questions?" When no one raised their hands or called out, she then proceeded to explain what the box was for.
"Now then, I'm going to walk around and your going to pick out a name from the box. Then I want you to get started on you letters." She walked around to everyone's desk, and everyone pulled out a random strip of paper.
When she got to my desk I put my hand in a grabbed the first piece I touched the pulled it out quickly. "Hey, who did you get?" (F/n) asked. "I got Kenma Kozume, who did you get?" I asked. "Fukunaga Shohei." They said, pronouncing it very slowly while trying to sound it out. I giggled slightly. "Maybe you should ask him how to pronounce his name." "Oh shush!" My friends said, lightly hitting my shoulder.
"Okay class, start working on your letters." My teacher said as she put the box beside her desk and started to grade papers. I took some lined paper out of my bag and began to write my letter.
When the bell rang I had a little more than a full page done. I had written a little bit about me, what I look like, and some cool places I've been to that were near me. I had also asked him some questions about himself and Japan.
I gave the letter to my teacher as I headed out the door with (F/n) right behind me. "Hey (Y/N), what do you think your pen pal is going to look like?" They asked as we pulled up her our lockers. "I don't know, you have any idea about yours?" I asked back. "Well they say people with difficult names are hotter." My friend said, making me laugh. "That's such a weird stereotype, where did you even hear it from?"
"W-well, there's this YouTube channel-!" My friend started, but I interrupted them. "And your really going to trust some nut-job on the Internet?" (F/n) crossed their arms. "At least I try to search up informational things in my free time." "Touché." I once again laughed as we made our way to the lunch room.
"So you think your pen pal is going to be hot?" I questioned, making them blush. "S-shush!" Once again I laughed as (F/n)'s face exploded in a blush. "I can't say I know for sure what my pen pal is going to look like, but I hope they like video games."
"What, you want them to send you over some Japanese exclusive games?" (F/n) said sarcastically. "That wasn't the intent purpose, but I suppose I wouldn't go against the idea. I just thought we could bond over video games." I hummed out.
"Hey!" I heard (f/2) (that means friend number 2) say as they sat down at our little table. Me and (f/n) gave our own versions of a hello. "Hey, you did the pen pal thing last year right?" (F/n) questioned, making (f/2) nod their head.
"Yea, are you guys doing that now?" I nodded my head. "Oh that's so cool! Ya know, I still talk to my pen pal. His name is Kuroo Tetaurō." (F/2) said. "Oh wow, you guys still do the pen pal thing?" (F/n) asked. "Oh no, we exchanged numbers towards the end." (F/2) laughed out.
We continued to talk about the pen pal stuff and (F/2) told us what we should expect going into it. After lunch was over me and (F/n) dumped our trays and said goodbye to (F/2).
"Are you excited to get a letter back?" (F/n) asked me. "A little, you?" I questioned back. "A little." They said, copying me, making me laugh. "Okay, lets get to class."' I told them, rolling my eyes.
Chapter Two;
~Kenma's POV~
I sat in class, sneakily pulling my phone out to play Pocket Camp, class hadn't started yet and I really had nothing better to do. A few minutes past and Fukunaga had sat behind me. "Hey Kozume." I gave a hum in response.
"What are you playing?" He asked, trying to take a look at my phone. "Pocket Camp." My tone was dull as I continued to try and complete my missions and stuff that I needed to do for Bob and Rosie.
The bell rang throughout the halls which could be heard from inside the classroom, signaling me to put my phone away so I wouldn't get in detention and have to run extra laps at volleyball practice. Once I slid my phone in my pocket the teacher walked in with a box and a lesson plan in hand. "Good morning class."
"Good morning." Me and everyone had said back. "Today we are going to be doing something different. Because we have been learning about a ton of other countries, a school from (insert where you live) reached out and asked if we could do a "pen pal" type of activity. That way you guys can learn about the place first hand from someone that lives there, and you can tell your pen pal how it is here."
"Now your pen pals have already been assigned and they have already written a letter to you. I have this box with me, and I'm going to go around and hand out everyone's letters." After he finished he grabbed the box and started to walk around. Eventually the teacher got around to my desk, he quickly shuffled through the letters and found the one addressed to me.
"Hey Kozume, who'd your say it's from?" Fukunaga asked as he looked down at his paper. "Umm... (L/N), (Y/N).... you?" "(F/LN) (friends last name), (F/n)." He answered. I nodded my head, fixing to pull out my phone again when the teacher had asked us if we had any questions. The girl in front of me raised her hand. "Are we writing in Japanese?" The teacher shook his head. "No english." Another student then raised a hand.
"Are we aloud to send pictures?" "As long as they are appropriate, any other questions?" When no one raised their hands the teacher told us to start reading the letters and once we finished to start working on our letters that we'd give back, and that they'd be due by the end of this school week. On that note we started to read/write our letters.
About half of the class consisted of me writing something down and erasing it not long after, so all I had was:
'Dear (L/ N), (F/ N)
My name in Kozume Kenma.'
Sighing out of frustration i looked behind me, catching Fukunaga attention. "Umm... how do we start the letters?" I asked, scratching the back of my neck in embarrassment. "Well," Fukunaga started. "I introduced myself, told them how to pronounce my name, and told them to call me by my surname. I started to list some things about me and I told them
I would have pictures of different places that most tourist would want to see when visiting. Oh! And I also described what I looked like. But I also answered some of their questions two."
I nodded my head and thanked him, then turned back around to finish my paper. When the bell rang I had a little under a half of my page full. I sighed, and put it in my book bag so I could finish it at home and get the pictures I needed.
I quickly pulled out my phone and slung my bag over my shoulder as I made my way out of the classroom and into the hallway with Fukunaga by my side. We both walked until we got to class 2-3 where Yamamoto was and waited for him so we could walk to our club together.
Once Yamamoto came out, him and Fukunaga started chatting while I was silent, playing on my phone. I was just fixing to beat a new level on my game when suddenly I could feel a hand wrap around my shoulders, which caused me to glance to me side to see Kuroo. "Hey shorty." "I'm not that much shorter." I told him plainly as I continued to play my game, as we walked into the changing rooms.
I didn't take a second to glance around me, and instead sat down on one of the benches as I was trying to hurry and finish the level. Which I successfully did. A sigh of relive slipped through my lips as they tugged up into a small smile. "Hey Kenma? Hurry up and change or coach is going to make you run extra laps." At Kuroo's works I slid my phone in my bag and started to change into my volleyball uniform.
-
I walked out of the changing rooms after practice with my phone in hand and Kuroo by my side. He was talking about his day and some of his classmates as a made a few comments here and there. Suddenly, Kuroo stopped talking as his phone buzzed.
He quickly pulled his phone out and started to type to the person, a smile coming across his face. "Awfully quiet on your end." I noted, not taking my eyes off my game. "Well, (f/2) is texting me." He chuckled. "Come to think of it, it was around this quarter that I first got a letter from (f/2). Are you guys doing that pen pal thing?"
I nodded my head and gave a hum. "Who did you get?" "Uhhh... I think the last name was (L/N)?" Kuroo nodded his head and started typing something on his phone, a few minutes later he gave off this devilish smirk. "Is something funny?"
Kuroo gave off a chuckle. "It's nothing." He said as we continued walking until we came to my house. We both waved goodbye and I quickly unlocked my door, trying not to lose my level. I then walked inside and closed the door with my foot, haphazardly kicking my shoes off in the process. I then walked up the stairs and into my room, shutting the door the same way I did downstairs, then plopped on my bed.
I quickly finished the level and set my phone down. "I should probably try and add something to the letter... and get some pictures..." I told myself quietly as I got up and got back to work.
Chapter Three;
~Reader's POV~
It's been about a week since we turned in our letters and our teacher had the letters from our pen pals ready for us to read. On the envelopes they made us write who they were to and who they were from.
When the teacher called my name, I came up and grabbed the envelope and sat down at my desk. Once we got our envelopes we where told to wait until everyone had gotten theirs so that way we could all open them together and there wasn't a bunch of noise as she was trying to pass out the envelopes.
I couldn't help but feel butterflies in my tummy at the thought of what my pen pal could be like.  Would they have similar interests that i have? Would they be the polar opposite of me? What did they look like? These thoughts and millions of other swarmed my head.
That was until the last person got theirs, she told us we could read them and then write a response back, and that they were again, due at the end of the week.
I opened the envelope neatly, unlike some people that chose to just tear them open. Once I opened it I started to read it to myself.
'Dear (L/N), (Y/N)
My name in Kozume Kenma (Ko-zoom-e Ken-ma), but please call me Kozume. I live in Tokyo Japan and go to school at Nekoma High, but you probably already knew that. I'm on my schools volleyball team and in my free time I like to play video games (some of my favorites are Pocket Camp and Mario Cart). I find it hard to describe things so I decided I would just put a couple of photos of me and my volleyball team in the envelope two (I'm the one with the black hair fading into blond). In Tokyo there is mainly a lot of food stands/shops, and a ton of stuff for tourists, I'm sorry, but I really don't know how to describe it. If there's anything in particular you wanted to see I could always take a picture. I'm not really a social person so I apologize for the lack of writing.
  -Sincerely, Kozume Kenma.'
I looked towards my friend to see they got a whole two pages, front and back, while I barley got even a full page of writing. "Wow..." I said quietly to myself. I decided that I would go ahead and look inside the envelope for the pictures that Kozume said he sent.
I saw some miniature pictures in the bottom and took them out, the first one was a picture of the whole Nekoma volleyball team, It wasn't hard to find Kozume because he was the only male with the hair colors he described. He was also the only one holding his phone and looking down at it.
I then looked at the next photo to see it was one of him and a guy with bedhead. Kozume wasn't looking down this time, instead, he stared straight at the camera with a small smile as the bed-headed male gave him bunny ears.
The next, and last photo was of just Kozume, he was standing on the side walk, and was glancing up at the person taking the photo with a phone in his hands. Unlike the other ones, where he was in his team uniform, he was actually wearing casual clothes.
When I put the photos down I could feel some heat making its way to my cheeks. I wouldn't deny that Kozume was fairly attractive, but the thought of the semester being over and him being nothing more than a faint memory kept me from thinking about it to much, instead, I focused on writing another letter.
I couldn't think of much to write about, I just asked him who the bed haired male was, told him some video games that I enjoyed, I also told him what club I was in and told him I also would send photos of me and some places around the city.
The bell rang and I decided I would put my note in my bag so I can get the pictures I needed (Im sorry if this feels repetitive). I again made my way to lunch with (F/n) and (F/2).
"So (Y/N), do you have anything in common with your pen pal?" I paused the game I was playing and looked up at (F/2), slightly blushing at the thought of Kozume, though it went unnoticed to the two in front of me. "Yea, we both like video games, and I found out he had a Pocket Camp account."
"Oooh~ Are you going to give him your friend code~!" (F/n) tried to tease me, but I just unpaused the game and ignored them. "Aww come on! Don't do us dirty like that!" I continued to play my game and try to block out my friends. I could hear one of them puff out a short breath of air, meaning they were going to tease me more, but thankfully the bell came to my rescue, and I quickly got up to leave and go to my class.
-
At the end of the day I was walking home with (F/n) and (F/2). They were talking while I was playing a video game on my phone. "Hey (Y/N), how did you respond to your pen pal?"
I quickly looked up from my game to glance at my friends (who had smug faces) and back down at it again. "I wrote a little about video games and the city here... I also told him I'd include pictures like he did."
"Ohh! So he sent you pictures! Is he good looking!?" (F/n) shouted, making a light blush spread across my cheeks. "Uhhh... idk. You can be the judge of that.." I took out the letter in my bag and handed it to my friends. "He's the one with the blond hair and dark roots."
I heard (F/n) giggle at the male in the picture. Suddenly, (F/2) gasped. "Hey! That was my pen pal last year!" I quickly glanced up from my game again to see they were looking at the second photo and (F/2) had pointed at the male with bed hair. "Oh yea... I was wondering what his name was." I told them as my eyes went back to my phone.
"It's Kuroo!" (F/2) was looking at the photo and stared at the "Kuroo" guy with a dark blush. "Ah, the one you like." I paused my game to see their reaction, and it was priceless. Their face lit up an even darker shade of red that spread to the tip of their ears.
"Hey! We're at your house! Don't you think your mother wants you home?!" (F/2) quickly said, trying to get me to stop teasing them. "Guess we are." I said, taking the letter and photos back from my friends and headed inside.
When I got home I immediately went to my room so I could print off some pictures of myself. I found a few of me, (F/n) and (F/2) and printed them. After words I put them in the envelope and tried to finish my letter.
-
I heard a knock on my door as I was putting the letter in the envelope. "(Y/N), dinner is almost ready." I heard my mother's voice as she opened the door. "Okay, do you mind if I go take some pictures real quick for a school assignment?" I asked, taking my phone off of the charger. "Sure dear, just be back in 30ish minutes okay?" I nodded my head, and said a quick "yes ma'am" as I put my shoes on.
My mom left, to where I assume to be the kitchen, as gathered my things. I quickly plugged in my headphones to my phone and made my way downstairs. I then made my way around town and took quick pictures of some things that I typically see tourists go to.
When I was finished I made my way home, my mother telling me I was just in time for dinner. I quickly ate, telling my mom it was delicious as always, and then made my way upstairs. I hooked my phone to my computer and downloaded the photos I took. After a few hours of it downloading I was finally able to print off the ones I liked and put them in a separate envelope. 'Finally I can go to sleep.' I thought to myself as my body was finally able to hit the bed.
Chapter Four;
~Kenma's POV~
When I woke up I had realized that I woke up extremely late and I missed half of my classes. At this realization I rushed myself to the bathroom to get dressed and quickly checked to make sure I had everything before running out the door.
I pulled out my phone while running to see that it was already 10:27. 'Shit... I'm not going to make it in time to receive my letter!' I haphazardly  threw my phone in my pocket and continued running.
At some point I skidded to a stop in front of my classroom. I was panting from running all the way here, so I took a second to regroup myself before I decided to knock on the door. I adjusted my tie and smoothed out my school uniform a little before lifting my hand, but just as I was about to make contact with the door, the bell rang and students started to file out of the rooms and into the hallways.
I stepped back to give the ones leaving some space. "Ahh, Kozume! You were late today." I could hear Fukunaga say as he exited. "I have your letters, I was planning on giving them to Kuroo, so he could leave it at your house, but I guess your here now." He told me, holding out a white envelope and a bigger orange/yellow one for me to grab. "Thank you."
I was still taking shallow breaths as sweat gathered on my temple, so it was no shock that Fukunaga noticed and made a comment about it. "The last time you were this tired was when you skipped practice because of a video game and coach made you run the entire practice. Where you really that eager to get your letter?"
At this a light blush came to my face. "No. I just wanted to make sure I didn't miss all of my classes and that coach wouldn't make me do that again." I told the male, referencing to the first, and last time I'd ever skip practice.
"Was it worth it?" Fukunaga asked as we started to walk. "No." I answered quickly while scrunching up my face at the thought, making Fukunaga laugh.
-
When I got home I made my way to my room and got the two envelopes out of my bag. I opened them quickly but made sure to not rip or tear anything.
After I read the note I took the photos out of the white envelopes first. When I saw the person I was pen pals with I could feel what raise to my cheeks and the corners of my lips tug into a small smile.
The first picture was of (L/N) and two of their friends. (L/N) was in the middle and held up a peace sign with a bright smile, while the one on the left held bunny fingers behind (L/N)'s head, and lastly the friends on the right had a small smile while they took the photo.
The second picture was only of (L/N), they were standing on side was as they covered the bottom half of their face, poorly hiding a blush, as they looked off to the side. This picture in particular made my small smile stretch a little into a grin.
The third photo made my smile instantly fall. This one had (L/N) and another male in the photo. In this one they were yelling at the male while he laughed at them. I felt some anger slowly form in the pit of my stomach. The first thought I had was that this was (L/N)'s boyfriend, which made the anger rise a tad more.
But then referencing to the letter, they said, as quoted, they took some pictures of themselves and "some of my friends" I quickly looked back at the letter to make sure that I didn't skip over anything, and referencing back they didn't say anything about a boyfriend. This made me relax a little, so I dismissed the option that it was their boyfriend as there was no evidence.
I picked up the yellow/orange envelope, opening it. Inside we're five pictures this time.
The first one was of a statue that has a little golden plaque near it, the statue itself was of a older looking man with a cane, just like the plaque the man was golden as well.
The second photo related to the first one, as it was a closer look of the plaque. As I read it, it explained how the statue was of the man that had founded their country.
The third photo was of a really nice looking castle. There was a little note at the bottom of the letter that said that this was where the man from the first picture had lived, and that both of these were a really big spot for tourists.
The fourth photo was at the castle again, except this time (L/N), the two friends from the first photo, and the male from the last one, were by one of the many knight armor that was lining the walls. They all made funny faces at the camera, looking like they were having a good time.
The fifth photo was one that made my blood boil. It was in the same spot at the last, but this time the male had leaned really close to (L/N) with his lips pressed against their cheek. He had a light blush on his face while (Y/N) had a huge one on theirs while their eyes were also wide open.
I couldn't help but glare at the photo that was currently in my hands. Suddenly their was a knock on my door and I could hear it creak open. "Hey Kenma, my parents are having a double date with your parents again tonight, so I was wondering if-."
With each word that left Kuroo's mouth I knew he was getting closer and closer to my side as his voice got louder, but I couldn't care less, even when he was right beside me and stopped talking, my eyes never left the picture, and my glare didn't falter either.
That was until Kuroo gave out a large cackle. I looked up and gave Kuroo the same glare, which only made him laugh harder. After ten minutes of his obnoxious laughter, he finally had enough and was clutching his stomach as he wiped away a fake tear.
"Kenma... that was the funniest thing I've ever seen you done." He wheezed out. "Now what are you glaring at?" He asked, snatching the photo out of my hands.
"Which one is the pen pal?" He asked, after a moment of studying the photo. "Take a guess." I mumbled out. "Hmm... the one being kissed?" Kuroo asked with a smile. I only puffed out my cheeks in annoyance as I fell back onto my bed.
"Hey, I didn't know your pen pal knew mine." "What do you mean." I leaned my head to the side to look at Kuroo. "The one with the (random hair color) and (random eye color)." Kuroo turned the photo so that I could see it and pointed at one of the people that were in the first photo.
My eyes shifted from the person Kuroo was pointing at to the male and (Y/N), making me groan and turn the other way. "Ya know, I've never seen you so upset about a person." Kuroo pointed out, and by his tone I could just picture the smile he was giving me.
I grumbled out a excuse under my breath which only caused Kuroo to laugh. "How about I treat you to some apple pie?" I sat up slowly and glanced at Kuroo then to the picture that was in his hand.
"Are we going to the one on 57th street?" Kuroo nodded his head at my question. Instead of replying I stood up and put my shoes on. We both walked in silence to the bakery that I loved.
-
Kuroo had just left my house so I decided I would take the left over pie from earlier and take it to my room so I could start writing me letter.
As I started to write it the only question I could think of asking was "who was the boy" and "is he your boyfriend or is he just a friend" or "why didn't you tell me you were seeing someone"
The urge to ask (L/N) those questions, and many more, was very high. Eventually I got through the note without commenting on the mysterious male.
It was late so I decided to get some rest for tomorrow, but the longer I stayed without knowing that I'd get closer, the more thoughts that swarmed my head. Like, 'how long have they been dating' and 'are they still together' or 'did they break up' and 'are they maybe just childhood friends' and 'are they in a happy relationship' and of course many others. But lastly..
'what if that was me instead of him?'
Chapter Five;
~Reader's POV~
I walked into the classroom with a skip in my step, I was excited to be getting my letter from Kozume. I quickly sat down in my seat, with a wide smile.
"Wow, since when do you come into class without your face in your phone? Did you beat a new video game?" (F/n) giggled out. "I did finish Super Mario Brothers 2 last night, but that's not why I'm excited."
"Oh, is it the letter from your dear Kenma then?" (F/n) teased as I blushed. "Come on, we aren't even on first name basis." "Doesn't mean you don't like him~!" They teased even further, making me blush even darker in return.
Before I could rebuttal, the teacher walks in with the letters. "Okay class, I'll pass out the letters and I want you guys to write your responses quickly because we have work to do today.... I'll give you guys 15 minutes after I pass them out."
The teacher passed back the papers and I beam to read through mine.
'Dear (L/N), (Y/N)
Hello again, I wanted to say that I found you very pretty in the pictures you sent, it's not a surprise to me that you have a loving boyfriend. How long have you guys been together, and what's his name? By the fifth photo you sent with the castle I'd assume that it's been a while. I couldn't send photos this time, but I'll try in my next letter. I wish you and your boyfriend the best.
   -Sincerely, Kozume Kenma'
At the word boyfriend I could feel my eyebrow quirk up. I wasn't dating anyone, and I haven't dated anyone in a few years. Then i remember sending a photo of (M/n) (male name). It was just a photo of me and him arguing over a video game, so I'd assume nothing when sending it, but i guess Kenma had assumed otherwise.
I quickly started off my letter by telling him that (M/n) wasn't my boyfriend, just a close friend I've had since Jr. High. I continued the letter by saying that he has been like a brother to me for so, nothing could ever change that. I then asked Kenma a few questions before closing off my letter and setting it aside. I didn't really have much to say, so my letter wasn't very long.
The 15 minute timer ran out and we continued with class as normal.
-
After my club me, (F/n), and (F/2) decided we would go to the arcade that was near by. "Hey (Y/N), I challenge you to a battle!" (F/2) said excitingly. "Oh!" I started, deciding to play along. "You dare challenge the queen!" This sentence made (F/2) giggle. "You mean the soon to be ex-Queen." (F/2) said smugly. "We'll see about that." I told them, a smirk growing on my face. "Now which game shall it be."
"Hmmm.... what about mortal combat!" (F/2) flicked my forehead. "You're on!" I yelled, racing them to the arcade machine. We both inserted our coins and picked our characters, then played.
-
"Ugh! Come on! No far!" So far we had done the best out of ten and I had won every single game. "Ahh, but I still have my crown. Looks like you couldn't beat the queen." I gave (F/2) a small smile.
"Oh, but I bet you want Kozume to be your king right?" (F/n) said out of nowhere, making me blush lightly. "I never said that..." I mumbled. "No, but you can't lie and say you haven't thought of it." This made my blush darken greatly and made me puff out my cheeks slightly. "I don't need a king...."
Chapter Six;
~Kenma's POV~
Just like very other week, the teacher passed out the letters. I was particular anxious about this one because of how many questions I asked about the mysterious male.
Not only that but what if it actually was their boyfriend? Will they think I'm being weird? Did I freak them out? What if they think I'm jealous? What if it gets awkward?
Once the teacher sat the letter on my desk I very hesitantly reached out to it. I very slowly opened the letter and then very tentatively read through the note.
In the very first sentence (L/N) had clarified that she was not dating the male in the photo, and that they were in fact childhood friends. And if anything he was a brother to her so nothing could have grown into anything bigger. I continued read on when the ending of the letter especially caught me eye, it read:
'I've been thinking about how this quarter is almost coming to an end, and in this short amount of time I have grown to consider you a really close friend and would like it if you addressed me by my first name. And if you wouldn't mind maybe we could talk about the possibility of me visiting during the summer (or vise versa)? I completely understand if you shut down both of my offers, I wouldn't want to make you feel uncomfortable. I look forward to your response!
  -Sincerely yours, (Y/N) (L/N)'
I couldn't believe what I was reading. (L/N), not only considered us close, not only wants me to call them by their given name, but also would like to meet me in person. I was over- joyed to say the least, and I could feel my lips tug into a warm smile as I quickly wrote a letter back.
-
After school had ended I asked Kuroo to take me around Tokyo to some "touristy places" so I could take pictures to send to (Y/N), mainly because I didn't know the area well even though I've lived here for almost my entire life.
We walked around and took pictures of different things until around 8 and decided to head home. When I did get home I ate dinner and then printed the pictures to put inside the envelope along with the letter.
Chapter Seven;
~Reader's POV~
When I got in the classroom I was fidgeting a lot more than usual, and I guess (F/n) noticed. "Hey (Y/N), are you okay?" I nodded my head and took out my phone, I started to play one of my games, but I couldn't concentrate because my thoughts were spiraling.
Ever since I gave my teacher the letter to send off I had been anticipating Kozumes response. I was really worried about being to forward and scaring him off. But judging by the times we had play Pocket Camp, he seemed like he was having a good time? But I could have been reading to much into it?
As that thought crossed my mind my screen flashed with a "game over" text, making me sigh. I was way to fidgety to be playing the game and kept messing up.
"Woah, something just really be bothering you to lose at that game. What's wrong?" I sat my phone down and took a deep breath in and out. "I told Kozume to call me by my first name and I also told him that I could visit sometime if he liked. I'm just scared of what he'll say..."
(F/n) put a hang on my shoulder. "Hey, listen. You are a wonderful person and friends. If he can't see that through your guys letters and talks during your video games, then that's really his loss. You're beautiful, have a wonderful sense of humor, and have the most charming smile ever. If he can't see that then he's blind!"
(F/n)'s words made me giggle. It didn't erase my worries completely, but it helped a lot. The teacher then walked into the classroom and handed out the letters.
When I got my letter my nerves returned again... taking a deep breath I opened the letter and let that deep breath out, taking all of my worries with it. I grabbed the first the note and started to read it, praying there wasn't anything bad in it.
'Dear (Y/N), (L/N)
I wouldn't mind calling you by you given name if that is what you want, and I also wouldn't mind it if we arranged a meet up during the summers. Though if you wanted to tour Tokyo my friend would have to come with us because I don't know the area to well. I thought that I'd take some pictures of places that are near me and most tourist go. I also have little headings on the pictures to explain the the pictures a little.
    -Sincerely, Kenma Kozume'
I couldn't help but smile when I read the bottom. Normally he would put his surname first, but this time he put his birth name, which meant that I would be able to call him by his birth name.
I then remembered that he had sent me photos and decided to open the separate yellow/orange envelope.
The first picture was a photograph of Tokyo Tower, the heading just stated that it was in fact Tokyo Tower and that some people mistake regular water towers for Tokyo Tower.
The second picture was of Kenma and his bedhead friend. They both stood in-front of the very famous Sensoji Temple. his arm around Kenma's shoulder while Kenma was looking down at his game. The heading had said the photo was of Kuroo and him last year when the bad went there on a school trip.
The third and last photo was Kenma and Kuroo again, but this time Kenma was looking at the camera, although he looked very annoyed, and Kuroo held up bunny ears behind Kenma. The head had explained that this was taken on a school field trip they had taken this year to Tokyo's National Museum.
I couldn't help but laugh at the picture in particular with a huge smile on my face. I quickly decided i should write a letter back to Kenma.
Chapter Eight;
~Kenma's POV~
Once again I got a letter from my teacher. When i opened it, it was all about (Y/N) gushing about how fun it will be to finally meet me in person. Towards the end of the letter (Y/N) had said that if i wanted to continue to talk, the i could give them my phone number. My last letter was short, I didn't really have a lot to say so it was pretty blunt....
-
As I got home from school I looked at my desk where my letter had sat, I didn't know if I should give that letter to my teacher or not.... the one thing I did know though was that my mind was constantly on (Y/N). My eyes always trialed to the small sliding drawer where I kept the letters she sent me, along with the photos.
I sat up from my bed and walked over to the desk and decided to re-read through the "old" letters. I even looked through the pictures. I subconsciously had a small smile on my face as I looked down at the photos.... well, all but two.
When I came across those two photos in particular my smile dropped. I immediately made up my mind as I saw those two photos.
Bad Ending;
~Reader's POV~
I walked into my classroom with a pep in my step. In my last letter I had asked Kenma for his number, and judging by how he still played Pocket Camp with me and came to visit my camp site, I'd say when I opened that letter, it was going to have his number in it.
I sat down and instantly started to fidget just like I did last week, the only difference being, this time it was from excitement. "You look happy this week." (F/n) pointed out, making me smile up at them. I honestly didn't have words to describe how happy I was, so instead I just nodded my head.
"Okay class, settle down. I thought I should point out before handing out these papers that this is that last letter that you will receive, and you won't need to write a letter back." After finishing this she started to hand the letters back. When the teacher got to me, she held a look of pity in her eyes and gave me an all knowing look, like she's seen situation play out like this a million different times before.
She then walked by my desk. She didn't say anything. She didn't put a note down, she just walked past and continued to hand out the notes. When she finished she had called me outside the classroom to speak with me.
"As you know, you didn't get a letter.... your pen pal, Kozume, decided that he couldn't bring himself to write another letter because of certain relationships you had with another male..." My teacher explained. The only thought racing through my head was "why".
"Um... can I go to the bathroom?" I asked. The teacher gave me a pitied look and nodded her head, walking inside the classroom. I went to the bathroom and went on Pocket Camp to text Kenma.
No matter how many times I texted him, no matter how many times he had seen it, he didn't respond.
He ghosted me....
Good Ending;
~Reader's POV~
I walked into my classroom with a pep in my step. In my last letter I had asked Kenma for his number, and judging by how he still played Pocket Camp with me and came to visit my camp site, I'd say when I opened that letter, it was going to have his number in it.

After finishing this she started to hand the letters back. When the teacher got to me, she smiled and gave me an all knowing look, like she's seen this a million different times before.
She didn't say anything though, and instead opted to just give me my letter. Immediately I opened it and grabbed the letter from inside. The words on the paper were short, sweet, and to the point.
'Dear (Y/N),
I can't wait for you to come to Tokyo, here's my number xxx-xxx-xxxx. Hope we can work the details out later.
-Sincerely, Kenma.'
My smile stretched further and I quickly got my phone out and punched Kenma's number into my phone, and quickly sent him a text saying that it was me.
-extra-
It was finally summer, and although I had to pick up some jobs, I gathered enough money to help pay for my ticket to Tokyo so I could see my dear boyfriend. I wanted to surprise Kenma, so I had been talking to one of his closest friends, Kuroo, for a few months about when to come and visit.
Eventually, we settled on a date and made plans. Kuroo was going to come pick me up from the airport and then take me to Kenma's house, saying he had a "surprise" for him.
I quickly texted Kuroo that I was boarding the plane and he said that he'd be seeing me in a few hours. When I got on the airplane and we took off, I could feel myself falling asleep.
-
I woke up to the captain saying that the plane had landed safely and that everyone could get off. I texted Kuroo and told him I arrived in Tokyo and he texted back saying he was waiting at the baggage claim.
I got my bag first and then started to look around for Kuroo. When I spotted him I I waved at him and called out his name. He turned to me and gave me one of his "signature smirks" as (F/2) had described it.
I walked up to him and we got into the car. Kuroo drove as we caught up and we also played a little bit of music. Mid way to Kenma's, I had gotten a notification from the boy himself.
To: (Y/N)<3
From: Babe<3
Hey, what are you doing?
To: Babe<3
From: (Y/N)<3
I just got off of work, can I text you when I get home?
To: (Y/N)<3
From: Babe<3
Yea, I'm sorry to bother you while driving. Make sure to stay safe.
To: Babe<3
From: (Y/N)<3
It's okay! I'll be safe, no need to worry. I'm not driving yet, though I'm about to. Ttyl!
"Who texted you?" Kuroo asked, not taking his eyes off the road. "It was Kenma, I told him I just got off work." "Okay, we should be there in a few minutes." Kuroo told me, making my lips tug into a small grin.
Not to long later and we arrived at Kenma's house. I couldn't help but have a slight bounce in my step as we walked to the front door, which Kuroo took notice of but chose not to mention. Kuroo had texted Kenma saying he had his surprise and to help him with it when he rang the door bell.
After we confirmed Kenma had seen the text and got a response I rang the doorbell with Kuroo standing behind me. A few minutes later the door opened, revealing Kenma.
When the door opened Kenma's eyes went wide and his mouth went slightly open in shock. His actions made me giggle. Before I could tease him, he quickly grabbed my wrist and pulled me in for a hug. His hands were around my waist as he buried his face into the crook of my neck. My hands rested around his neck as I took in his sent. 'Smells like apple pie...' I thought to myself.
Kenma suddenly pulled back and grabbed me by the chin, quickly making our lips connect for a split second before pulling away again. "Come inside." He said, opening the door wider to let both me and Kuroo inside. 'Tastes like it two.' I thought, with a wide smile.

Wolvden Pack Updates - Breeding Pair Brainstorming
Of course the day my pack’s canon hunting team is filled by growing lead pups, Wolvden throws a curveball in the form of being able to set Breeding Pairs. And since my pack’s entire structure is built upon the One Breeding Male restriction, that means I get to rebuild it completely!
It’s a good addition to the game, of course. But I was just getting settled with the old system and now I want to use the new system.
The Pack As It Stands
Currently, I essentially have two packs: the canon pack that consists of my leader, her mate, and her pups; and a non-canon pack of all female wolves working to produce my next leader’s mate. The leader’s mate is my Breeding Male, and my non-canon wolves all breed with outside studs. I sort-of avoid inbreeding, but only within my own pack. I don’t take the heritage of outside studs into consideration, and I only specifically avoid breeding a pup to a parent, not looking into siblings or cousins and other relations.
At maximum, I produce two litters per in-game six months, one from the non-canon Hunting Team and one from the Lead Pair or one of the children of the Hunting Team if the Lead Pair is still on cooldown.
The Lead Wolf’s pups cannot breed unless they become the Lead Wolf themselves. Non-canon pups can breed if they are female and the closest to my Goal Wolf or if their mother is retiring from the Hunting Team due to age.
I do not want to keep it as it is, though. This new update opens up so many possibilities, so this is going to be a brainstorming session to figure out what exactly I want to do.
Goals With the Restructure:
- Breed entirely within my own pack - no outside studding except in exceptional circumstances (like a breed-only Special base or mark that I cannot acquire through my own efforts).
- On average, gain stats through the generations
- Have a genetically-varied pack (lots of Base and Marking variety)
- Limit inbreeding
- Gain new, unrelated wolves only through Explore
Limitations to Keep in Mind
I haven’t gone all the way through the tutorial yet (I’ll find a pair of wolves in Explore just to set them since I’m not ready to commit any of the pack quite yet), but from what I understand:
Breeding Pairs can only breed twice a calendar month. That’s not per individual pair but per all pairs in the pack. This does not affect breeding to a Breeding Male. (Since I already only breed twice per 24 days with the non-canon pack, this isn’t too much of a handicap for my current playstyle)
From the page:
- Wolves eligible to form pair bonds must have been a part of your pack for a minimum of 7 rollovers. (Okay, this means I need to wait a week for the Explore-found wolves to be in the pack long enough to do the tutorial)
- Male wolves (excluding breeding males) in a pair bond may breed with the female in their pair bond only. Each breeding carries a 30 day cooldown afterwards for the male. (Breeding cooldown for the female is already 24 days, so it’s not that big of a gap. It will mean the pair must wait a total of 36 days at least, though, due to the Heat cycle. The only wolf that would be affected by this from my current playstyle is the Lead Wolf/Lead Wolf’s Mate, as I breed them more often to fill the pack roles with relatives. The rest take turns.)
- Pair bonds last a lifetime - or until one or both of the wolves leave the pack, die, or are forcibly disbanded by the owner. The remaining wolf will be very unhappy if the pair bond ends and enter a cooldown before they are able to form a new pair bond. (Does a force disband cost currency? Not that I intend to use this)
Option #1: Lead Pair + Lioden-style Non-canons
I’m probably not going to use this one, and I couldn’t use it until the next generation anyway since my Lead Wolf’s mate is already the Breeding Male, but it was the first system I thought of when I saw the news.
Basically, the Lead Pair would be the only Breeding Pair in the pack, and the Non-canon Pack would all breed to the one designated Breeding Male. The Non-canon wolves would all compete not only to have a pup that’s the Lead Wolf’s mate, but also to have a pup that becomes the next Breeding Male.
Pros:
+ More stat gain in the pack
+ Two wolves rotate out per generation - the Breeding Male’s Legacy and the Lead Wolf’s Mate’s legacy
Cons:
- Inbreeding would happen
- Lead Pair’s pups still do not breed before becoming Lead themselves, meaning the next Lead must be born after the current Lead turns 4
- Genetic variety would be low
Option #1 Variant: Lead Pup Breeding
There isn’t really anything stopping me from setting any of the Lead’s pups + one of the Non-canon Pack’s pups as a Breeding Pair early. This would eliminate the second con above, but it would add:
Con:
- Stat gain wouldn’t happen as fast, as the generations may advance before the parents are at their maximum potential.
Option #2: One Pack
This option would do away with the Non-canon pack entirely and ultimately have a much smaller pack. The Lead Pair would continue to have the Breeding Male, and the pups would all take NBWs as mates. The pups would take turns breeding, at once every six in-game months or until the calendar month changes if I’ve already done 2 that calendar month.
Pros:
+ Smaller pack, easier to take care of
+ One Hunting Team, which means they’ll probably actually max out their hunts more often (I never max it out with 2)
+ Everyone’s canon
Cons:
- NBWs as mates means stat gain is much slower over the generations.
- NBWs in canon roles means there will always be low-stat wolves in important roles.
- I’ll need to find four nice-looking NBWs every generation
Option #3: Similar to Now, but Breeding Pairs and Early Legacies
Lead Pair would still have the Breeding Male. The Non-canon pack would consist of three Breeding Pairs. The Lead Wolf’s pups would also form Breeding Pairs with pups from the Non-canon Pack, leading to the Canon Pack consisting of the Lead Pair and four Breeding Pairs.
All the Breeding Pairs would take turns breeding at the same intervals as now plus the extra cooldown time if the month’s not up yet.
Non-canon wolves would be rotated out once their pup in the Canon Breeding Pair becomes the Lead Pair. Siblings of the Lead Pair would not breed after a Lead Pair has been chosen to limit inbreeding and confusion.
Pros:
+ Keeps the general structure of the current pack.
+ Stats would rise over the generations more than putting NBWs directly with Lead Wolf pups
Cons:
- A lot to keep track of
- Still would have to replace a lot of wolves every generation
- Leading to lower stats on average, especially in comparison to the Lioden-style inbreeding approach
???
I’m leaning towards Option #3, at least to start with, but maybe with some additional restrictions. Like, I’m not going to continually breed Canon wolves that aren’t going to become Lead. I shouldn’t even assign mates to them. Mainly the purpose would be to have a head-start on the next generation so I don’t have to wait until the Lead Wolf is 4 to choose an heir.
And looking at what situation I have in front of me, the only one of my current Canon pack pups that has three marks is also green. Sordia, my favorite, has only two marks, and she’s the Herbalist. I don’t want the Herbalist to breed due to that meaning she’d be unavailable the last day since I nest in the morning so I don’t forget.
Plus the fact that I want the next generation mate to be a Tier II, and I have yet to have a Tier II born in the pack. I’ve just reached Level 15, so I can start finding Tier II NBWs. I can also beat up foxes to try to earn that Tier III base, but by the fact that there’s 0 Applicators in the game and 0 Fox-colored wolves right now, I assume it’s a very rare item.
So do I halt my current strategy of using studs and put full focus on getting new NBWs? Do I abandon the cloudy Sky-colored Goal Wolf and set that to be a bigger, more overarching goal?
And how do I decide the Non-canon Breeding Pairs? Do I have each Legacy focus on a particular base color, or do I focus the whole pack on getting that Sky-colored wolf?
Do I still focus so hard on that?
The more I think about it, the more appealing Option #1 is. I’m mostly avoiding inbreeding because it means my Breeding Male won’t be discriminated against, but does that really matter all that much to me? I was mostly breeding to the same two studs, anyway, so it’s not like my pack was inbreeding-free. And while constant variety would be nice, it’s nice to achieve goals. I can do something entirely different once I get my Sky wolf.
But again, I can only set up for this right now. I’m not spending GC to retire my current Breeding Male, so I have to wait the *checks* 111 rollovers. Which would be April 5th if I log in every day.
Plan for Now
I just yesterday bred, so I have 11 days to find a male to pair with my next wolf, and also decide which three wolves I will be keeping.
Sadie (Buttercup’s Legacy) and Mold Bunny (Dusty’s Legacy) are almost definitely two of them due to being 2nd Gen wolves with traits I’m going to have a hard time getting with just NBWs. Especially Sadie since she has White eyes which are literally impossible to get through NBW traits, even chaining higher-tier fails from Glass eyes. It might be possible if Fox eyes can fail to Red, but it seems much more likely it’ll be in the Amber family.
And the third might very well be from Sandy’s litter. I don’t even have to worry about it being female at this stage.
So the first mate will be a mate to Sadie (Buttercup’s Legacy). I’m still going to try for the cloudy Sky-based Goal Wolf, so anything that heads in that direction is something I’ll be looking for. Mostly if I can find a Tier II, but, well, I haven’t found any special NBWs at all yet, let alone ones with Tier II bases. And keep an eye out for White markings.
After that, I’ll be getting mates for the other two as needed, looking for the Tier II. I’ll then be breeding for the Breeding Male and the next Lead Wolf’s Mate. Breeding Male prioritizing eye color and the next Lead Wolf’s Mate prioritizing looking good in general.
And if I find any Chased wolves that have Custom colors and markings, I’ll definitely see how I can incorporate them.

TERMINAL REPORT.
Gross Domestic Product
The Philippine’s GDP plummeted the moment the pandemic hit the third world country. The pandemic did not give mercy to the domestic demand, tourism, trade and manufacturing all together. Last year was a sudden burden to the government official as they quickly put the whole country on a lockdown leaving all the demands for GDP on hold. And with the continuous quarantine as well as incompetent government the GDP is bound to get lower as months will pass by unless some magic will make it turn around but of course that would be impossible. How did the recession of the GDP come to be? Firstly, The pandemic came without warning and as much as the people say, the Philippines was not prepared. With that in mind, we can easily assume that the government did not plan through how to save the market demand, tourism, manufacturing and trade. The importance of being able to keep the COVID cases to a minimum was the main priority even to the Philippines and as much as we want to deny it GDP was in the “Important but not as important in making the country safe.” According to the National Economic and Development Authority the Philippines lost P1.1 trillion or 5.6 percent of GDP in the first 45 days of ECQ. It took at least 3 months or so to let other workers do their jobs as it is one way to retrieve the lost GDP we had. Few months later, the government took the rescission of the GDP and planned to reverse the damage. They tried to reopen some businesses in hopes to lessen the burden. Trade has been slow as all countries are still facing the horrendous virus but tourism slowly opened up with great caution as tourism means a lot of people. The government tried their best to at least overthrow the problem with the GDP. Now, according to Asian Development Bank, the Philippines will probably make a rebound on 2021’s GDP as the economy of the Philippines is significantly slow. However, ADB projected that the country will get at least 6.5% of their lost GDP assuming that COVID-19 infections in the country are curbed by June this year. Until today, the Philippines are taking precautionary measures as well as slowly taking steps to reclaim the lost GDP due to the unexpected pandemic. There are currently a lot of projects that focus on the overall reclaiming of GDP and hopefully this will be a jumpstart to help the country. And with this in mind, I do hope the government will act fast and does not dilly dally as time cannot save the country, the sluggish economic recovery will always be blamed by the government as we paid them for making the country safe, protected and well. It is afterall what they signed up for when they decided to be a part of the political standpoint. And with the president's estimated GDP growth for 2021 would settle between 6.5% and 7.5%, and hit the 8% to 10% range in 2022 then they better act quickly.
General Price Level
With the overall Pandemic issue around the world and especially in the Philippines, it is not an excuse that the country would also experience an issue with regards to the overall general prices. Now, we would assume that the prices would also rise as the pandemic continues but the government tried to lessen this problem as the country folks could not afford another sudden rise of the price. What the government did was to lessen the consumption of each household, in that manner a price won’t go above what was originally planned as well as to lessen the panic within the people. The good during the first month or so of the Pandemic, food sources were scarce and everyone started to panic. Let’s use canned goods as an example, before pandemic arises one canned good was sold around 20 pesos or so. When news of the ongoing virus was spreading, prices of some goods were rising but not to the point where people go barbaric and considering that canned goods are essential to a daily life, it rose to around 30 pesos per canned good. When the official finally understood the dangers of the virus, everything went on panic. Stores were closed, no one could buy anything and everything was not in order. The overall price of the consumed goods in the Philippines skyrocketed and that’s mainly because the government did not expect the virus to be deadly. It almost took the country about 3 or so months to keep the problems at bay. Currently the consumer index is slowly regaining its lost percentage. But nothing is for sure as the Pandemic is quite unpredictable and considering the incompetence of the government official we might be dealing with a backlash when it comes to the general prices. Currently the goods we got outside the Philippine area are limited, flights for international are on hold because of the large covid cases just within the Philippines. The overall consumption of the Philippines as well as the Investment, the net exports and government spending are on thin ice in a way that because of the virus the usual move of the consumption, investment, net exports and government spending have been disrupt and no one can really tell when all of these will go back to normal or will it ever go back to normal. But as far as the people of the Philippines, if things do not turn for the better we will surely be experiencing a terrible war just within ourselves. Though currently minimizing the overall cases of the virus is top priority while battling the financial crisis that upholds the country at the same time as they are related to one another. A fall in the financial upholdings is also a fall in winning over the virus. One cannot lose as they are the only thing that still holds together the battles of the country.
Money Supply
Money supply of the Philippines continues to circulate every single day. According to Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas there about 4.1 billion pieces of notes valued at PHP 1.7 trillion and 34.9 billion pieces of coins valued at PHP46. 3 billion in circulation as of 31 July 2020 and this excludes commemorative notes and coins. Based on the Data that was gathered, the lowest/ minimum Money Supply/ M1 is around 2,553.536 ( Jan 1989) while the maximum is around 113,592.621 ( Dec 2020). As money supply is constantly updated every month, in March just when the Quarantine started there was an estimation of 94.141.745 and it rose as the quarantine stayed. Money supply circulated fast because of the Pandemic. Pandemic really disrupts the financial system of the Philippines and one of them is the money supply of the said country. Because of Quarantine a lot of the household began to sell out their assets as well as circulate a lot of money fast as some of the household feared that it would fail them in the succeeding days. Under consumption, each household decided to buy future necessity in fears that it would be gone in a flash (cash circulated). Under Investments, A lot of stocks were pulled out for future consumption and because they feel like these stocks would be useless in the future upbringing (assets circulating) and because of people pulling out, the stocks plummeted so bad that a lot of stocks were so cheap. Under government spending, government officials stood some hospitals, facilities as well as buying vaccines and for research purposes and such a lot of money was spent (cash circulating). Under Net exports, a lot of international goods/flights were cancelled in fear of adding more cases around the world but considering that online shopping became a trend a lot of materials came outside the Philippines (cash circulating). In conclusion, Assets circulated big enough because of the unexpected hit of the pandemic and just like that at the end of the year 2020 it garnered around 113,592.621mn making it one of the maximum money supply in the Philippines. Currently as of this month, the money supply has lowered not by much but a considerable amount. The circulation of money has been skyrocketing by a large amount. This has affected the business cycle and has greatly affected the economy by lots. And this estimation is still based on the M1and this alone has a great impact on the ever changing economy of the Philippines. And we will never be certain when will the effect of the abnormal rising and falling of all the charts of the financial sector of the Philippines will return to normal but as far as the quarantine is still ongoing, as far as the COVID cases still ongoing and as far as the government still stalling the real problem of the country it would take a long time to recover back from the original state.

Patchwork Quilt: Reconstructing Voltron Season 7 Episodes 9-11
It’s already known that the 7th season of Voltron: Legendary Defender was edited late in production due to executive meddling. The EPs already confirmed this was the entire reason The Feud even exists. They also mentioned in an interview with AfterBuzz TV that some episodes were moved out of order as a result of the additional content.
In my meta “Cutting and Padding” I mentioned how Trial by Fire did not exist prior to the editing and that the inclusion of content that gave the MFE pilots more screen time threw off the pacing of the season’s Earth Arc. After some further thought, I thought it would be a good time to go into more detail and outline how the parts of S7 that were added in during the editing can be distinguished by the continuity errors they create within the entire set of episodes.
Without further ado, let’s begin.
Reconstructing Know Your Enemy
Summary of August 2018 Episode
The Paladins crash land on Earth in a stolen Galra starfighter, and scout the city near Galaxy Garrison. Due to their ignorance of the occupation’s patrol patterns, they are quickly overwhelmed and pinned down by Sentries before they are rescued by the arrival of MFE Pilots Griffin and Rizavi.
The Paladins are then taken back to the Garrison where Lance and Pidge are reunited with their families. Seeing Lance being teased by his niece and nephew reminds Hunk of spending time with his own niece and nephew, and he is distressed to learn that his family are being held prisoner behind enemy lines. Iverson apologises to Shiro for having him strapped to a table and makes amends with Keith over the latter’s departure from the Garrison. Shiro grieves over Adam’s name on the memorial wall before the team’s debriefing.
Team Voltron is brought up to speed on the state of Earth’s occupation and the Garrison’s resources. Sanda suggests turning over the lions to Sendak and when the Paladins insist they have a fighting chance she counters with the fact that they don’t have any knowledge of the enemy. Pidge and Allura realize that since Sam copied all of the data from the Castle of Lions, they have access to Sendak’s memories.
While they get started on finding a way to access them, Keith consoles Hunk over the latter’s worry over his family, telling Hunk how brave he is for going on in spite of his fears. Hunk and Keith sneak out with the aid of Griffin and Veronica to look for Hunk’s parents. Allura and the Holts begin interrogating Sendak’s memories, learning that when a planet refuses to give up, it is annihilated. When Sendak’s AI reveals this was how Altea was destroyed, it becomes too much for Allura, who leaves the room.
Veronica connects with her resistance contacts from The Last Stand: Part 2, who report on what they’ve managed to find on where Hunk’s family and the other prisoners are located. With a rescue impossible for now, Hunk asks if he can at least get a visual of where his parents are.
While cooling down from interrogating Sendak’s memories, Allura offers Shiro a new prosthetic arm to replace the one he lost during his mind-controlled fight with Keith in The Black Paladins.
As the prisoners are being escorted from the work camps to the detention facilities, Hunk spies his parents among the crow and vows to save them.
Breaking Down the Edits
Continuity Error 1: Hunk’s flashback of his niece and nephew depicts Hunk in his S1 outfit prior to his enrollment at the Garrison, inconsistent with the Young Hunk designs used in S7E1 and later in this episode.
Tumblr media
Continuity Error 2: Veronica says in the mission briefing that all resistance outside the Garrison has been wiped out. Despite this, we se her resistance contacts from The Last Stand: Part 2 helping to lead her, Griffin, and Keith to where Hunk’s parents are being detained.
“Small underground pockets of resistance have attempted to do so with varying degrees of success. Eventually all were discovered and systematically wiped out.”
Tumblr media
Corrections
The sequence where Keith and Hunk sneak out to find Hunk’s family would be removed in order to resolve the continuity error of the resistance still being around. Without this sequence, the Significant Looks Griffin and Keith give each other throughout this episode have no purpose in the narrative and should be removed. With the removal of Veronica’s resistance contacts, their introduction via the salvage mission should be removed from The Last Stand: Part 2.
The flashback of Hunk cooking with his mother should be placed where the flashback of his niece and nephew currently is. The group hug with Lance’s family would remind Hunk of the group hug he shares with his own family in the cooking flashback. Having one Hunk flashback featuring each of his parents highlights the focus on how his two great loves, cooking and engineering - come from spending time with his parents.
Missing Scene 1
In place of Griffin And Keith Significant Look #2 during the scene where Lance and Pidge are reuniting with their loved ones at the Garrison, I believe there would have been a short scene where Colleen thanks him for saving Matt’s life and then gives him a warm welcome home.
Shiro would have then asked about Adam before the scene transitions to Shiro looking at his ex-boyfriend’s nameplate on the memorial wall.
This scene would follow up on the fact that the camera focused on Colleen’s reaction when Sam told the Garrison about how Shiro saved Matt’s life in the arena.
Tumblr media
It would also serve as a callback to Pidge’s line in S1E5 Tears of the Balmera that her father’s mission crews were like family, reassuring us that even though we don’t hear or see anything about any living blood relatives, Shiro still has family on Earth.
“Dad used to tell me how close he was with his crew members. They were like family.”
Blank Space
The music as the paladins look at the ruins is more appropriate for an episode-ending “wham” moment than recycling the ending of The Journey Within, so the first three minutes of this episode would be better served as the ending of The Last Stand: Part 2. Taking that segment out leaves the remainder of Know Your Enemy with a run-time of 15 minutes.
In order to bring that up to the standard 22 minute run time (Excluding the 1-2 minutes for the opening and the credits), we need to pull footage from what is now S7E10 Heart of the Lion: the recon mission to the Zaiforge Cannon base, and the two briefing scenes before and after the mission. (Veronica’s line about the base info being “cross referenced with resistance intel” would likely be eliminated to maintain continuity with the “all non-Garrison resistance has fallen” narrative).
The first reason for this is as a point of contrast: the episode opens with the Paladins scouting the city near the Garrison without backup or knowledge of the patrol sentries’ attack patterns, and are quickly overwhelmed before Griffin and Rizavi come to the rescue, and would end with the Paladins performing recon with backup and updated knowledge of Sendak’s occupation, successfully infiltrating the base undetected.
The second reason is timing: the recon mission taking place at night indicates that from the Paladins’ arrival on Earth to the post-mission briefing take place in the course of one day, with the Paladins summoning their lions being indicated as taking place the following day.
The third reason is the thematic relevance to the title: Revealing that Sendak plans to destroy Earth with the Zaiforge cannons should be a follow up to Sendak’s AI declaring that any planet that refuses to surrender will be destroyed.
Rearranged Scene 1
Aside from the flashback of Hunk cooking with mother, the scene where Allura offers Shiro a new prosthetic arm should be the proper ending of Know Your Enemy. Not only does the music feel more appropriate to transition into the end credits, but having Know Your Enemy end with Shiro being offered a new arm when the next episode opens with him waking up from the operation to attach it flows smoother than ending the episode with the paladins deciding on their plan to summon their lions.
Music for the briefing scene
Music for the arm conversation
Summary of Revised Episode
The Paladins scout the city near Galaxy Garrison.
Seeing Lance in the middle of a group hug from his family reminds Hunk of group hugs with his own family, and he is distressed to learn that his parents are being held prisoner behind enemy lines. Iverson apologises to Shiro for having him strapped to a table and makes amends with Keith over the latter’s departure from the Garrison. Colleen welcomes Shiro home and proceeds to thank him for saving Matt’s life. Shiro asks about Adam and goes to see his ex-boyfriend’s name on the memorial wall.
Allura and the Holts begin interrogating Sendak’s memories, learning that when a planet refuses to give up, it is annihilated. When Sendak’s AI reveals this was how Altea was destroyed, it becomes too much for Allura, who leaves the room.
After briefing the Garrison-Paladin alliance on what they’ve learned from Sendak’s memories, Pidge, Kieth, Griffin, Allura, Kosmo, Lance, Kinkade, Veronica, and Hunk are sent out to perform reconnaissance on the nearest Galran installation. With backup and better knowledge of the patrol sentries’ attack patterns, they manage to evade the base security and discover that Sendak is building Zaiforge cannons. After evading the sentries, they return to base to plan their next move.
Determining that the best way to stop the Zaiforge cannons from launching is to attack all six cannons at once, in response to Sanda’s concerns about the inability to get to the lions, Shiro reminds the other Paladins that they can use the bonds with their lions to summon them over long distances. The MFE pilots are assigned to fly 4 of the Paladins to the other bases before going to attack the sixth, while Veronica offers to drive Lance to the one nearest to the Garrison.
After the debriefing, Allura meets with Shiro and offers him a new prosthetic arm to replace the one lost in his mind-controlled fight with Keith.
Reconstructing Heart of the Lion
Summary of the August 2018  Episode
Shiro awakens from the surgery to attach his new prosthetic arm. The arm’s power source malfunctions, causing him pain before Allura replaces it with the crystal from her crown.
After Shiro recovers, Allura and Pidge relay what they’ve learned from Sendak’s memories, cross referencing with Veronica’s intel about 6 Galran installations across Earth. Pidge, Kieth, Griffin, Allura, Kosmo, Lance, Kinkade, Veronica, and Hunk are sent out to perform reconnaissance on the nearest Galran installation.
Allura comes to see Lance off before they depart, urging him to be safe out there. Veronica repeatedly teases Lance about his crush on Allura. The Paladins successfully link up with their lions, although Lance is delayed when Galra fighters attack his and Veronica’s rover and he’s too worried about his sister’s safety to summon his lion until the last moment. The Paladins are too late to stop the launch of the Zaiforge cannons, and Galra warships ambush the paladins and MFE pilots at each base, Admiral Sanda having given up the plan to Sendak in the hopes of sparing Earth.
The lions chase the Zaiforge cannons into orbit and form Voltron, but the cannons strike using modified version of the Omega Shield from S6E1 to disable Voltron and separate the lions, allowing them to be easily captured while the Garrison looks on in horror.
Breaking Down the Edits
Missing Scene 2 After the scene where Shiro gets his new arm, there should be a shot of Honerva reacting to the events of that scene. The color saturated style used when Shiro begins freaking out has only ever been used to indicate when Haggar attempted to take direct control of him, signalling to the audience that Shiro’s pain in this scene is her doing and foreshadowing what she will do to Luka in S8E1 Launch Date.
Tumblr media
This also follows up with Macidus’ comments that no one has seen Haggar in years, establishing dramatic tension as the audience wonders when Haggar will strike next now that she knows Voltron has returned. With Team Purple Lion’s estimation that the last 7 minutes of Shadows were originally the cliffhanger of Lion’s Pride: Part 2, while the rest of Shadows was split between Part 1 and 2 of The Last Stand, this scene helps to fill in the missing pieces of Season 7’s B-Plot: “Where in the Universe is High Priestess Haggar?”
Tumblr media
We are first introduced to the Altean Robeast via flashbacks to the destruction of Olkarion in Battle Scars. We don’t know what it is or where it came from.
In The Ruins, Macidus reveals that Haggar has disappeared to parts unknown.
The Last Stand: Part 1 and The Last Stand: Part 2 shed light on her actions prior to her disappearance, as argued by Team Purple Lion’s Reconstruction videos.
A scene where she attempts to take out Shiro and fails creates suspense as we wonder what Honerva will do with the knowledge that Voltron has returned.
The arrival of the Robeast at the end of Lion’s Pride: Part 1 confirms our expectations that she will attack when the Paladins least expect it while also confirming that the attack on Olkarion was her doing.
Having the reveal of the Altean pilot be followed by the last third of Shadows finally answers where she went and what her plan is next, while her communication with Sendak reveals that she had been orchestrating the occupation of Earth the entire time.
Continuity Error 3: The Last Stand: Part 2 established that only a small portion of the Particle Barrier needs to be deactivated in order to allow the MFE fighters to take off, and shutting the entire barrier down in what is now S7E11 Trial by Fire was what prompted Sendak to start attacking the Garrison. Yet in the August 2018 version of Heart of the Lion, the entire barrier is shutting down with none of the characters displaying any fear that Sendak will attack.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Corrections for Heart of the Lion
All of the scenes with the fully deactivated particle barrier need to be removed. I’m sorry, Allurance fans, but that includes the scene where she goes to see him off because that’s when the barrier is shown coming down. Because of its part of a trio of scenes in the Earth arc focused on them and removing it disrupts the flow, that means the other two shots of them have to be taken out as well.
Reused Footage 2: The opening shots of what is now Trial by Fire are repeated from the ending of Heart of the Lion. The only examples of shots being repeated across multiple episodes were to establish to the audience that either A) the new season was beginning immediately where the cliffhanger of the previous one left off (S2E1), or that a set of episodes was occurring simultaneously (S2E2, S2E11). While the ending of the August 2018 version of Hear of the Lion is a fairly strong cliffhanger, it was not the end of the season. And since Trial by Fire was not taking place simultaneously with Heart of the Lion, there is no narrative reason for these shots to be repeated.
The ending of Heart of the Lion
The opening of Trial by Fire
Merged Footage
Blank Space: With the briefing scenes and recon mission moved to Know Your Enemy and the scenes with the Particle Barrier down cut out, that least just under 11 minutes of footage in Heart of the Lion. But in order to determine which parts of Trial by Fire can be incorporated into Heart of the Lion, we need to first cut out all of the continuity errors and plot inconsistencies in Trial by Fire.  As I mentioned in my “Cutting and Padding” meta, Trial by Fire did not exist before the editing of Season 7. Now, I will go into detail on how.
Dismantling Trial by Fire
Summary of the August 2018 episode
With the Paladins captured, Shiro demands to know what weapons the Garrison has available. With Sendak’s fleet out of range and the MFEs back at the Garrison recharging, Shiro takes charge and focuses their energy on getting the Atlas up and running.
Sendak reneges on his deal with Sanda and throws her in the brig with the Paladins before ordering his fleet to move the Zaiforge cannons into position. Coran and Sam toss ideas back and forth on how to power the Atlas, while the Zaiforge cannons return to orbit. When Veronica confirms that the cannons are going to converge over the Garrison’s coordinates, Sam and Coran come up with a plan to divert power from the Garrison’s particle barrier in order to power the Atlas. The entire Garrison is evacuated while the MFEs prepare for takeoff to hold Sendak’s fleet at bay.
Sendak notices the deactivation of the particle barrier and orders a full scale attack on the Garrison. As Galra warships bombard the base, the MFE fighters launch to keep the fleet occupied while the Atlas prepares for launch. Once the ship is ready, the hangar bay doors open. As the Atlas attempts to lift off, the power from the particle barrier proves insufficient, and the ship drops back into its docking bay.
The MFEs easily evade cannon fire from the Galra fleet, but more cruisers arrive with enemy reinforcements. As Sendak’s forces continue to fire on the Garrison, Sam laments the ship’s uselessness. When Sam mentions it would take the power of a supermassive black hole to get the ship off the ground, Coran realizes that they can use the compressed diamond made from the remains of the Castle of Lions in S6E7 to power the ship.
Another wave of Galra reinforcements arrives as the Atlas prepares for lift off. Shiro starts giving orders as the MFEs clear the air above the hangar as the bay doors open. The MFE quadron hits Sendak’s command ship with an EMP as the Atlas takes to the sky.
Hepta reports the lack of response to the fleet, and Sendak orders his lieutenant to bring them around and charge their ion cannons. Veronica reports that Sendak is preparing to attack from above. When the Atlas’ weapons come online, Shiro locks on to one of the Galra cruisers in the fleet and destroys it in a single shot.
The shockwave alerts the Paladins to the fact that the Atlas has been launched. As Sendak’s fleet surrounds the Atlas, the Paladins attempt to use their bonds with the lions to pilot them remotely. As the lions break free from the hangar, Sendak dispatches Lieutenant Hepta to kill the Paladins. While the Paladins help turn the tide in favor of the Atlas, Admiral Sanda cons her way out of her cell and initiates a firefight with Hepta in order to stall for time. Sanda is mortally wounded, but before Hepta can kill the Paladins, they fly the lions through the ship, killing Hepta in the process.
With the power knocked out in the brig, the Paladins escape from their cells. As she dies, Keith promises Sanda that they will do what she couldn’t and save Earth.
Breaking Down the Edits
Continuity Error 4: At the end of the edited version of Heart of the Lion, the MFEs were under attack at the 6th Zaiforge Launch Base at the same time that the Paladins were flying into orbit to stop the Zaiforge Cannons. Going by Hunk’s comment about the distance between the city and the Garrison, it should have taken the MFE Pilots at minimum 30 minutes to get back to the Garrison, but at the beginning of Trial by Fire they’ve somehow already teleported back even though less than that time has passed in-universe.
Tumblr media
Continuity Error 5: Trial by Fire opens with the Zaiforge cannons already in orbit firing on Voltron. Just a few minutes later, the cannons have teleported off screen back into Earth’s atmosphere where they are shown hovering over the launch bases flying back into orbit.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Continuity Error 6: The hangar bay doors for the Atlas are shown opening twice.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Continuity Error 7: The MFE pilots launch an EMP at a Galra Warship. Sendak and Hepta are shown reacting to the ship losing power, but the Paladins are not affected.
Tumblr media
Corrections
Eliminate the shot of the Zaiforge cannons going into orbit.
Cut out all MFE scenes and edit out dialogue that acts like they’re already back.
Remove the second shot of the Atlas hangar opening and move the first one to where the second was is in the August 2018 version of Trial by Fire.
Summary of the Revised and Combined Episode
Shiro awakens from the surgery to attach his new prosthetic arm. The arm’s power source malfunctions, causing him pain before Allura replaces it with the crystal from her crown. Through the link she used in S6E4 Honerva now knows that Voltron has returned.
The Paladins and MFEs depart that morning to link up with the Lions. Lance is delayed when Galra fighters attack his and Veronica’s rover and he’s too worried about his sister’s safety to summon his lion until the last moment. The Paladins successfully link up with their lions but are too late to stop the launch of the Zaiforge cannons. Galra warships ambush the paladins and MFE pilots at each base, Admiral Sanda having given up the plan to Sendak in the hopes of sparing Earth.
The lions chase the Zaiforge cannons into orbit and form Voltron, but the cannons strike using modified version of the Omega Shield from S6E1 to disable Voltron and separate the lions, allowing them to be easily captured while the Garrison looks on in horror. Shiro demands to know what weapons the Garrison has available, and on being reminded that the fleet is out of range, Shiro takes charge and focuses their energy on getting the Atlas up and running.
Sendak reneges on his deal with Sanda and throws her in the brig with the Paladins before ordering his fleet to move the Zaiforge cannons into position. When Veronica confirms that the cannons are going to converge over the Garrison’s coordinates, Sam and Coran come up with a plan to divert power from the Garrison’s particle barrier in order to power the Atlas. The entire Garrison is evacuated aboard the Atlas before Sam deactivates the barrier.
Sendak notices the deactivation of the particle barrier and orders a full scale attack on the Garrison. The Atlas attempts to lift off, but the power from the particle barrier proves insufficient, and the ship drops back into its docking bay. When Sam mentions it would take the power of a supermassive black hole to get the ship off the ground, Coran realizes that they can use the compressed diamond made from the remains of the Castle of Lions in S6E7 to power the ship
As the ship takes off, Sendak orders his fleet to target the Atlas and charge their ion cannons. When the Atlas’ weapons come online, Shiro locks on to one of the cruisers in Sendak’s fleet and destroys it in a single shot.
As you can see, the subplots surrounding the MFE pilots in Know Your Enemy and Trial by Fire create continuity errors that disrupt the flow of the narrative, and spread out what should have been two episodes with clear, strong pacing into a sluggish mess that spreads out over 3 episodes.

Television shows are most often scheduled well ahead of time and appear on electronic guides or other TV listings. A television show might also be called a television program (British English: programme), especially if it lacks a narrative structure. A television series is usually released in episodes that follow a narrative, and are usually divided into seasons (US and Canada) or series (UK) — yearly or semiannual sets of new episodes. A show with a limited number of episodes may be called a miniseries, serial, or limited series. A one-time show may be called a “special”. A television film (“made-for-TV movie” or “television movie”) is a film that is initially broadcast on television rather than released in theaters or direct-to-video. Television shows can be viewed as they are broadcast in real time (live), be recorded on home video or a digital video recorder for later viewing, or be viewed on demand via a set-top box or streamed over the internet. The first television shows were experimental, sporadic broadcasts viewable only within a very short range from the broadcast tower starting in the 1930s. Televised events such as the 1936 Summer Olympics in Germany, the 1937 coronation of King George VI in the UK, and David Sarnoff’s famous introduction at the 1939 New York World’s Fair in the US spurred a growth in the medium, but World War II put a halt to development until after the war. The 1947 World Series inspired many Americans to buy their first television set and then in 1948, the popular radio show Texaco Star Theater made the move and became the first weekly televised variety show, earning host Milton Berle the name “Mr Television” and demonstrating that the medium was a stable, modern form of entertainment which could attract advertisers. The first national live television broadcast in the US took place on September 4, 1951 when President Harry Truman’s speech at the Japanese Peace Treaty Conference in San Francisco was transmitted over AT&T’s transcontinental cable and microwave radio relay system to broadcast stations in local markets. The first national color broadcast (the 1954 Tournament of Roses Parade) in the US occurred on January 1, 1954. During the following ten years most network broadcasts, and nearly all local programming, continued to be in black-and-white. A color transition was announced for the fall of 1965, during which over half of all network prime-time programming would be broadcast in color. The first all-color prime-time season came just one year later. In 1972, the last holdout among daytime network shows converted to color, resulting in the first completely all-color network season. FORMATS AND GENRES Television shows are more varied than most other forms of media due to the wide variety of formats and genres that can be presented. A show may be fictional (as in comedies and dramas), or non-fictional (as in documentary, news, and reality television). It may be topical (as in the case of a local newscast and some made-for-television films), or historical (as in the case of many documentaries and fictional series). They could be primarily instructional or educational, or entertaining as is the case in situation comedy and game shows. A drama program usually features a set of actors playing characters in a historical or contemporary setting. The program follows their lives and adventures. Before the 1980s, shows (except for soap opera-type serials) typically remained static without story arcs, and the main characters and premise changed little. If some change happened to the characters’ lives during the episode, it was usually undone by the end. Because of this, the episodes could be broadcast in any order. Since the 1980s, many series feature progressive change in the plot, the characters, or both. For instance, Hill Street Blues and St. Elsewhere were two of the first American prime time drama television series to have this kind of dramatic structure, while the later series Babylon 5 further exemplifies such structure in that it had a predetermined story running over its intended five-season run. In 2012, it was reported that television was growing into a larger component of major media companies’ revenues than film. Some also noted the increase in quality of some television programs. In 2012, Academy-Award-winning film director Steven Soderbergh, commenting on ambiguity and complexity of character and narrative, stated: “I think those qualities are now being seen on television and that people who want to see stories that have those kinds of qualities are watching television. United States When a person or company decides to create a new series, they develop the show’s elements, consisting of the concept, the characters, the crew, and cast. Then they often “pitch” it to the various networks in an attempt to find one interested enough to order a prototype first episode of the series, known as a pilot.[citation needed] Eric Coleman, an animation executive at Disney, told an interviewer, “One misconception is that it’s very difficult to get in and pitch your show, when the truth is that development executives at networks want very much to hear ideas. They want very much to get the word out on what types of shows they’re looking for.”[7] To create the pilot, the structure and team of the whole series must be put together. If audiences respond well to the pilot, the network will pick up the show to air it the next season (usually Fall).[citation needed] Sometimes they save it for mid-season, or request rewrites and additional review (known in the industry as development hell).[citation needed] Other times, they pass entirely, forcing the show’s creator to “shop it around” to other networks. Many shows never make it past the pilot stage.[citation needed] The show hires a stable of writers, who usually work in parallel: the first writer works on the first episode, the second on the second episode, etc.[citation needed] When all the writers have been used, episode assignment starts again with the first writer.[citation needed] On other shows, however, the writers work as a team. Sometimes they develop story ideas individually, and pitch them to the show’s creator, who folds them together into a script and rewrites them.[citation needed] If the show is picked up, the network orders a “run” of episodes — usually only six or 11 episodes at first, though a season typically consists of at least 22 episodes.[citation needed] The midseason seven and last nine episodes are sometimes called the “mid-seven” and “back nine” — borrowing the colloquial terms from bowling and golf.[citation needed] Thanks u for visiting, I hope u enjoy with this Movie Have a Nice Day and Happy Watching 🙂
