Hello internet!

It’s officially been over a week since the release of the ‘Moon’s DEATH in VRCHAT’ episode and I am FINALLY done with this essay on the show. IRL stuff be damned, this was important lol.

Not really sure how to explain what this post is, so I guess it’s just my thoughts on some stuff from the show overall, focused in around this specific episode. It started off as a why I liked and didn’t like the idea of Moon’s “death” and kinda spiraled into something more as things tend to do for me sometimes. It’s a collection of opinions and observations from my perspective, so if you do happen to read this, uh, hi! Thanks!

I began writing this about five minutes after I finished watching that episode on the 15th of April, and have spent the last couple days doing most nothing BUT writing. I held off on watching the most recent lore episodes, (after Lunar’s death) because if I didn’t I’d just have to keep rewriting it and rewriting it and then it would just never get done. There are many things in this post that have been resolved at this point, but I chose to keep writing it anyway because I was having fun (Like, Moon’s been resurrected at this point and I have NO IDEA if he’s got his memories back. Which is a… large portion of this post lolol). There’s also references to some of the stuff I did see and while I did go through and read it through several times, some stuff still got through I’m sure. It’s a bit all over the place. So keep that in mind if you do choose to read this!

I wanna make clear really quickly that these are all my personal opinions and insights, based on my experiences of the show. I like this show, and doing stuff like this is fun for me. It’s a way for me to show my enjoyment, and at the end of the day this is a silly role play show featuring characters on the internet, that I like to watch. Please don’t come into the comments of my posts or my ask box trying to start fights over stuff I’ve said. I’m all about hearing people’s opinions and I’d love people to give me their own insights about the stuff I’ve talked about (if I didn’t my ask box would be closed.), even if we don’t see eye to eye!

My own opinions may change in the future. I’m open to that. Welcome it even! There’s so many different interpretations and likes and dislikes about different characters and I love that so many people have been brought together by their enjoyment of SaMs, even thought sometimes there are bumps in the road. It’s genuinely my favorite part, that we all enjoy this show for such varied reasons. But I won’t entertain outright hatred, insults, or attempts to start discourse with me. I will simply block people who do so.

Now that it’s out of the way, though, LET’S TALK! Prepare for sloppy thinking and many lots of words below the cut because my brain has been all over the place for several DAYS and I’ve been super excited to deep dive into this. I’ve been vibrating thinking about all this and trying to get this done!

!SPOILERS FOR THE SUN AND MOON SHOW BELOW!

So.

They killed Moon.

(Porbably. 2% chance and all that but let’s… let’s be real folks cam’ahn. Ya know? Ya know.)

I’ll be honest, this decision took me completely by surprise. I was not expecting the death of such a titular character, after all it is called the Sun and MOON Show. But, taking a look back on stuff that’s happened in the show, specifically with Moon himself, it’s not all that much of a jump that this happened.

Let’s talk some meta first. I’ve been somewhat worried about it, and I know other people have asked both here on Tumblr and in the comments of many of the recent lore videos about the show possibly ending or the VA’s moving on to other things.

META/ Behind the Scenes Word Vomit

So there was another show, called the Mommy Long Legs and Daddy Long Legs Show and I’m pretty sure there were others, but I know about this one for certain. They have the Huggy Wuggy and Poppy Playitme show listed in their Home page and as of writing they still have 2.33k subscribers. I know at one point the Huggy Wuggy and Poppy Playtime Show was listed under the channel page of all the FNAF Reacts shows. It isn’t anymore.

Whatever used to be on the Mommy Long Legs and Daddy Long Legs Show is gone. If there were videos on that channel, they are no longer there. If you are actually worried that they are going to end the Sun and Moon Show channel, be aware of the possibility that eventually they will probably do the same as they have done to the Mommy Long Legs and Daddy Long Legs Show. Same for any of the FNAF Reacts channels that you enjoy.

THIS IS NOT MEANT TO CAUSE PANIC! Even if the show were to end, I don’t believe they would delete all the videos right away or anything like that, and most likely we will have confirmation that that is the intended path for the show. But take those facts as you will. I’ll be keeping an eye on the Huggy Wuggy and Poppy Playtime Show, just to be certain. I won’t be surprised if at some point those videos get erased too.

HOWEVER!

I don’t think they’re ending the Sun and Moon show, for several reasons.

One of the reasons I saw someone call out as for why they might cancel the show is views and subscribers. So I went and pulled some numbers from various channels. As of today, (April 19th, 2023) here are the subscribers counts for some various shows in the FNAF Reacts verse as well as the Huggy Wuggy and Playtime Poppy Show, a show which was made by the same company but which HAS ended. The last episode of that channel aired on the 23rd of February this year and still has all their videos up, but it appears they have stopped uploading.

As you can see, the Sun and Moon Show still has the most subscribers of all the channels. I didn’t include the Monty Gator and Foxy Show because that show is so new, and I didn’t include the Springtrap and Spring Bonnie show due to the recent re-branding which I feel would have messed up the numbers. I didn’t include the Freddy and Funtime Freddy show because I forgor. But each of those channels also has less subscribers than the SaMS. I also went and looked at the view counts for the past thirty days of videos (not including todays) and pulled an average view count from those episodes.

The Sun and Moon Shows still got higher view counts than any of the other shows too. From a, I guess, business stand point, I really don’t think their highest performing show is the one they’re going to give the boot. Besides, people love this show beyond the numbers. I went and watched that most recent QnA video again recently and like… just the sheer love from them scrolling through all those comments and questions people had? Fuck guys. Makes me emotional.

On a somewhat related note, which stems from genuine curiosity about behind the scenes stuff and because I need to just word vomit for a second, I wonder if they’ve lost a bunch of subscribers or if their view counts have been affected by the death episodes? I don’t really surf the tags on Twitter so much, but in the comments of the videos and here on Tumblr I’ve seen quite a lot of people say they’ll stop watching or that they’re taking a break from watching. I also wasn’t paying attention to the subscriber counts before and after so I don’t know! Did people really leave?

I wonder what the reasoning, the thought process was behind the decision. They had to know there was going to be backlash! Did they not care? Killing two major characters back to back? Maybe they thought spreading out the deaths would be too much and decided to drop all the bombs all at once? Maybe it really was just to set up for the next plot line? Like, it’s a HUGE thing to kill one of your main, load-bearing characters! (I can’t particularly articulate why but, like, this is really big? It’s HUGE? Especially in the middle of so many separate story lines?)

How long have they been planning to do this? How far in advance is the show planned? We don’t really know anything about the behind the scenes for the show. Who writes plot points and ideas? The VA’s? Someone else? Whoever did, they’ve been setting up for it! It felt really sudden to me, and in a really weird place, but it had to have been in the works for some time! With everything else going on all at once, it just felt like a really sudden wrench in the gears, caught me by surprise for sure! It’s gonna throw everything out of whack! I like thinking about things like that. Yus yus yus.

Anyways, it doesn’t seem to be the path the creators are taking from a story standpoint either. If they were planning to end the show they’d be wrapping up plot threads, and instead they’ve been setting up for new stuff. If they were planning to end the show, why have Moon leave a message for Sun? Why even suggest the 2% at all? Why introduce Earth? I think it was in the ‘Killcode and Moon’s Final Conversation in VRCHAT’ episode where Kill Code suggested Eclipse might seek out the Creator since their goals aligned. But, like, that’s the introduction of a new character motive as well as setting up for a team up between two main show villains.

They’ve done character building on Sun, they gave the Creator motives for his plans, they’re building Eclipse up to be even more threatening. Hell, why even suggest there was a possibility to save Lunar if they were just going to end the show? Monty wouldn’t have found a nanomachine, and they wouldn’t be teasing us about it in the description. Lunar would just be gone. Like, you don’t make cliffhangers for a piece of media you know is going to end, that you intend on ending, that’s not very good in any aspect. And these folks know what they’re doing, they’ve been doing it for awhile.

I think the more likely option is one or both of the VA’s are taking a break from or leaving the show. For those who don’t know the two voice actors for the Sun and Moon Show are InvisibleDavis Studios (Who plays Sun, Eclipse and Monty) and EC_Universal Productions (Who plays Moon, Lunar, and Kill Code).

Both actors have their own channels and their own projects outside of the Sun and Moon show. Invisible Davis has Bonnie’s Adventures, another FNAF RP series, and his Undertale series and EC_Universal has the Punkrocks FNAF RP, which is part of TheFamousFilms greater FNAF MC RPVerse (also known, I believe, just as the FNAFverse) and has also recently been previewing another new and upcoming RP series based on Danmachi or Is it Wrong to Pick up Girls in a Dungeon. Invisible Davis also just started the Monty Gator and Foxy show.

This wouldn’t be the first time this has happened in the collection of FNAF React shows. The Funtime Foxy and Glamrock Chica show ��rebranded” to the Funtime Foxy and Lolbit Show for a while, but that was in the titles inside of the videos themselves only. As far as I can tell, the voice actors did not change nor were the cast credits changed during that time. There’s also been several times where main characters were “replaced”, as with Freddy and Shadow Freddy or the different variations of Roxy, Circus Baby and others (Shattered Roxanne, Lovesick and Scrap Baby, Eclipse and Lunar).

However, many of you, if you keep up with the other shows, are probably aware that recently the Glitchtrap and Glamrock Bonnie show recently completely re-branded to the Springtrap and Springbonnie Show. They changed their banner, their channel name, as well as their cast credits in their most recent videos. This is a full on channel re-branding, which has not happened to this degree before, except maybe to the Freddy and Funtime Freddy show, as the original videos on that channel actually didn’t have Funtime Freddy at all. The cast credits are now the VA’s for the characters on the Freddy and Funtime Freddy show and the previous VA for Glamrock Bonnie is no longer listed. I am not in the Discord for any of the FNAF Reacts shows, so I do not know if there was an announcement for this change.

I mention this re-branding for two reasons only. The first is to establish that this is a possibility for the Sun and Moon Show. A decision could be made to replace Sun or Moon or both with new characters as it has already been done. These are most likely different scenarios, it is simply a possibility. The second is to establish that if there IS a VA change or if the channel is being re-branded, however they approached doing so with the Springtrap and Spring Bonnie show they will probably do again for the Sun and Moon Show. Whether that be no announcement at all or what, again I didn’t see how they advertised the GtaGBS/StaSBS switch over, regardless it will most likely be approached the same way.

To be clear this possibility is pure speculation based on already accessible information about the on goings outside of the show, mixed with my own personal experiences to theorize what may happen in the shows future. I will admit, I had several more paragraphs written detailing why I thought this might happen, but I decided against putting it in because I think it was inappropriate to make theories on the real life people behind the scenes. I don’t know anyone who works on the show, and it’s not my place to speculate about anything personal the real people behind the show may have going on to affect decisions. Don’t take my word as fact on anything. It is ONLY speculation.

Please be respectful to the voice actors and the folks working on the shows. They put in a lot of work to create something that we all love and enjoy in our own ways. Be mindful and don’t bug anyone. Until we are given explicit facts from someone who works on the shows, or an announcement from a trusted and related source, we just need to trust the process as they say.

(As a quick plug, because I truly do enjoy the content these folks put out, if you like the Sun and Moon show or the FNAF Reacts channels, especially for their lore I recommend checking them out! They’re really fun, I have been personally enjoying the hell out of the Punkrocks series. That series specifically is only on episode #69 so there’s not a ton you would need to catch up on this point and while I haven't had time to watch the Undertale series as regularly as I want, the stuff I have seen is fun!)

Now, with that out of the way let’s move on into the good sauce.

STORY

What happens now? Where do we go from here?

There’s kinda three big paths I can see this taking at this point,

The first is that 2% comes into effect. Moon comes back with all his memories in tact and he’s (relatively) fine and is reunited with Sun.

Second, the 2% does not come into effect, but Moon does eventually regain his memories!

Third, the 2% does not come into effect, Moon is reset and does not ever regain his memories.

There are other options of course! Maybe a Moon from a different dimension pops in, maybe he doesn’t come back at all and another character takes his place (there’s plenty of options), but these are the three main ones I can think of. There’s also the option of there being a recent backup of Moon somewhere, but I see that being too similar to the first option, just with an additional fact of he would probably be missing memories of all the things that happened in his mind, if not a little more.

OPTION 1

I see the first option as the most ideal outcome of the three, at least for the characters, because it comes with the least amount of consequences. Moon comes back, and he and Sun are reunited. Moon meets Earth. Kill Code is alive inside of Moon’s computer. AI1 is restored, as they themselves stated a backup of them was made pre-entering-Moon’s-mind, and they are reunited with AI2 (though I would have LOVED to see AI2’s reaction to AI1 being gone. Do you think he would have been sad? Do you think he would have missed him?). Everyone is ‘fine’ and we move on with the story.

At this point, we just head on and start dealing with all of the plot points in the same manner we would have if the 2% thing had never been a thing at all. There are a couple things that need to be addressed, that were established after Moon’s “death” like Lunar and getting Kill Code a new body and all that but it’s pretty much all the same problems and no new added ones that come from Moon losing his memories.

Eclipse is the big one, of course! His obtaining of the Newton Star is something they’ve been trying to prevent since practically the beginning of the show. With Kill Codes added suggestion that the Creator might try and seek Eclipse out or the two might join forces due to similar wants, we have an incredibly interesting threat on the horizon.

By the way, I was going to mention Eclipse resetting the world as an option since that seemed to be his original plan, and it would be a really easy way to ‘reset’ the channel to 0, but he himself stated that he didn’t want to do that anymore. Just thought I’d mention it!

Some other stuff they could build stories around:

- Sun’s powers and Moon’s loss of magic, which includes the circle being destroyed

- Monty Gator and Foxy having their own show and what led to that happening (people picked up that there seemed to be something going on between the Celestial Siblings and Monty that required them all to take a break from one another for a bit)

- Earth! Moon hasn’t actually met her yet! Also, I made a separate post about this, but the Creator has outright stated that Earth was made to be better than the boys in EVERY aspect. Which, considering what we now know of the Creators motives, most likely includes killing humans. I cannot WAIT to see where they go with her. (Her reaction to learning that Sun killed someone clicked some switches for me, it struck me as weird. Little details from the last couple episodes are striking me as really interesting and I’m getting more and more excited.)

- Lunar. Monty dealing with Lunar, the nanomachine, Lunar’s trauma, all sorts of stuff with Lunar. (Maybe he’ll become a major side character on the Monty Gator and Foxy Show!)

- Puppet???? Mentioned, like, twice? This is 100% a personal thing but GIVE ME MAH WIGGLY OG CHILD CARE TAKER. They’ve set up for the character, also excited to see where they’re gonna go with them.

- Solar Flare. It didn’t seem like he was actually dead, but instead fighting back inside Eclipse's systems. Maybe he’ll be the final puzzle piece to taking the down the long cheeto.

- Blood moon and Sun dealing with his first murder still.

As well as:

- The last time Sun saw Moon, Moon had trapped him in a small, magical barrier in a bunker by himself and left him.

- The message Moon left for Sun and dealing with the repercussions of that basically being a suicide note.

- Sun dealing with having Kill Code around, especially when just recently they were talking about killing him.

- A whole bunch of other things I can’t even remember right now

And of course.

Sun and Moon themselves, and their relationship with one another.

If Moon does not get reset, we’re still dealing with the same Moon we’ve had for the past year and beyond the beginning of the show, and he has a lot to atone for.

This isn’t to say that Sun doesn’t have things he’s done that need to be addressed, quite the opposite. He’s not 100% in the clear here.

I believe both of them are flawed and complex characters who have both made mistakes and done ‘bad’ things. I believe both of them deserve to have a spotlight put on them so we can see how they react and evolve afterwards. I do not want anyone to think I’m demonizing either one, by the way, or think that I’m infantalizing Sun as some weenie baby who’s never done anything wrong. Nor do I want anyone to think I’m excusing either of them for their actions farther down in this post. They both have growing they need to achieve, things they need to answer for, and diminishing them to singular character traits is to do the character’s a disservice.

But, right now, this is about Moon and I DO think between the two Moon has many more things he’s done that he needs to answer for and I do think that a lot of it revolves around Sun.

I’ll get into that, because there’s a reason I feel this way about Moon that actually has nothing to do with his character but rather with the show itself, but not here, because I’d like to address both of them separately and I’m still talking about possible outcomes. We’ll get there.

Point is, if they don’t actually kill/reset Moon, there are still so many stories to go with! That’s only stuff I remember, stuff that was established and can be built on from the most recent lore episodes. And I didn’t even touch on possible episodes with character interactions (Monty hasn’t met Earth! Earth and Lunar haven’t met anyone! Eclipse and Earth! The Creator and Earth! Moon and Monty after Lunar’s splosion! GOOD EcliPSE LeaRNINg AbOuT LUNaR. So much s tufffffffff!)

Buuuuuut

I’m pretty sure they are not going to go with option one.

OPTION 2

Option two and three are more likely and we won’t know which for awhile. Like, I mentioned up in the meta section, they probably wouldn’t have set up the 2% at all if they were ultimately not going to do it.

So, option two! Also known as Moon’s Amnesia Arc!

Moon appears in his own body, back in the daycare. Kill Code is in the computer, AI1 has yet to be restored, for any various number of reasons. Sun and Earth are there and they either find Moon or are contacted by Kill Code/ one of the AI.

And Moon doesn’t remember anything.

I’m trying to think of all the things a reset would encapsulate. It was a total reset and all his memories, so probably anything you can think of that wasn’t part of his base programming. He probably doesn’t remember any of the other characters, unless those names were a part of his initial known information. Which would include Sun.

(Fuck. Do you think Sun would think he was messing with him at first? As like a really awful prank?)

Like. Sun. Jesus. It’s going to be so bad, if it happens. Sun’s already dealing with SO much, I don’t even know if Earth could pull him back from the spiral. He’s already blaming himself for Moon getting trapped in his own head because of the destruction of the magic circle. He’s already feeling guilty and dealing with the Bloodmoon hallucinations. If Moon loses his memories, and like, doesn’t even remember Sun (which he’ll probably see as a consequence of his running off to fight Eclipse alone and destroying the magic circle) this is going to fucking BREAK him.

Followed by the message. “Sun. I don’t know if I’m awake already when you’re gonna hear this or if I’m gonna be still repairing myself. I had to do something. I had to do this. In order to not feel responsible for killing another person. Kill Code’s getting better. He WANTS to live. He wants to be his own person. But he needs help. He needs your help. And I’m gonna need it too. In order for Kill Code to exist one half of my AI’s have to delete themselves, which they can be fixed. That’s easy. But I… I got reset. More than likely. There’s about a 2% chance I didn’t, so maybe you got lucky. But I… I can’t kill another person. I love you brother. I know you understand what I did. And I know why you left. I know you wanted to help me. Now’s your chance. Just be my brother. That’s all I’ve ever needed.”

Just. The emotions that will come with having a memory-less Moon show up and see Sun. Kill Code in the computer. Do you think Sun will blame him? I don’t even think he’ll believe Kill Code until he hears the recording. I wonder if he’ll believe him even after! I’ve already written about how the two of them, Sun and Moon, don’t really know each other in a different post. I DON’T think Sun will understand this decision at all. Like, deep diving into that message could probably constitute another essay all on it’s own. I’m excited. I’m dreading it. I can’t fucking wait. Arghargharghargharghnamnamanamnomm

His memories about magic. His memories about the daycare. All his experiences, gone.

Think of all the other characters who are going to have to deal with the effect’s of Moon’s death, too! This is going to have blow back that reaches to other characters who knew him! All the different opinions. There’s going to be characters who did like Moon, who did NOT like Moon, who were helped by him. He wasn’t unloved in the FNAF Reacts Verse, people came to him for help and advice a lot, enough that, an entire other universes Pizzaplex failed without him. Fucking Monty, guys. KC having to live on with the realization of what exactly Moon saving him cost and what that actually meant. When he sits and thinks on it, what really happened. LUNAR.

And on top of all of that, every plot point I listed above, is still open to be addressed. Every single one is a loose thread still, except now Moon doesn’t remember anything. He can’t help with Eclipse or the Creator as well as he could before, because he doesn’t remember. He won’t have any reaction to hearing Lunar is dead, because he doesn’t remember who Lunar is.

And he can’t attone for the things he’s done to Sun and the other people he’s hurt, because he doesn’t remember doing those things.

However, with option two, eventually Moon remembers! I saw a couple suggestions for how this could happen. Backups somewhere. Maybe the AI’s can find them, maybe they were in Lunar and when (if) he gets ‘resurrected’ they’ll get Moon back too, I think I saw someone say that Moon outright said he had backups somewhere, maybe he put them somewhere and one of the side plots will be trying to find where they’re hidden since the only one who knew where they were was Moon himself.

I think, if they do go this route, there will probably be more severe consequences for the message and the choices Moon made in his head. Because, unlike in the first path where nothing ‘bad’ came from the choice, in this path there were severe consequences for people other than Moon that happened because Moon lost his memories. Especially to Sun. But there is once more room for growth, because now he can face those consequences, possibly even with a new perspective! I saw someone suggest that Moon with no memories (and no trauma!) watches the show and realizes he was an asshole, and it helps him take strides to making amends as best he can and growing as a character even after he regains them.

Which now brings me to the third and final path I see this entire thing taking.

OPTION 3 (Kinda)

The 2% comes into effect and Moon loses his memories.

And he does not ever get them back. A true reset.

Maybe there are no back ups. Maybe there are backups, but Eclipse finds and destroys them all and with it any chance of Moon coming back. Maybe they find the backups but they’ve been corrupted somehow. Point is Moon is forever the way he is now, with no memories of his past beyond the recordings provided him and anecdotes from the people who knew him.

I don’t particularly love this option. I don’t hate it, I can see reasons for why it could happen, and also reasons why it would be a cool path to take! But I think, of the three I listed, I want this option the least.

I’m going to veer for a moment, twice. We’ll get back to that topic in a little bit, but I’d like jump to what I mentioned before and talk about Sun and Moon themselves, and their relationship with each other as well as another kind of major opinion I have for the show.

I’m going to talk about Sun first, because I think my opinions on Sun are a little different than other peoples. I’ve never actually seen anyone talk about him like this, so I’d like to get it out of the way because it does kind of lead into what I think about Moon.

SUN

Initially, while I was writing this piece I couldn’t quite figure out what to write about Sun. So I started off this section with ‘Sun is boring’. Which I don’t think that so much anymore. I spent some time while I was writing this, going back and watching some older lore episodes, ranging from all the way back at the beginning of the channel to more recent episodes.

And I think a better description for how I feel about Sun is that I think Sun has been very overshadowed over the course of the show. And because of that, until recent episodes where the show has started to focus on him, I just didn’t really care about him all that much. I realized this while I was trying to figure out how to characterize him, because I was trying to think of specific moments where he did something that jumped out to me, that put his character on display and or story arcs where he has been an active focus and, besides the most recent stuff, I couldn’t think of any. Which is weird, because I can think of a TON of stuff for Moon.

I’d like to clarify quickly that I am not a religious watcher of the Sun and Moon Show. I don’t always have time to watch episodes day of, and I often don’t watch gaming episodes, so I don’t get the little tidbits of characterization and character information that happen in those episodes. I started watching the show regularly sometime after the Interview episode way the fuck back in July of last year because I saw an animatic or something that got me really interested, but I never went back and watched anything before now. I’ve also missed lore episodes so I’m most likely coming from a place of less understanding than someone who has watched the show regularly, seen every episode, or watched and paid attention to Sun’s character specifically. I don’t know everything, and I don’t want anyone to think that I think I know everything, I very much do not.

Eventually I hope to watch the show in it’s entirety (which I know is a huge undertaking, but I want to do it anyway at some point because I just really like this show). Even with the few episodes I’ve been re-watching so I can find little details for my writing, I’ve discovered so many more cool little things so I’m sure in the future once I’ve re-watched it all, my opinions will change (for sure!).

But from my perspective (which is, again, very limited. I will outright admit that), Sun is a very overshadowed character on the show despite being a title character.

The basic character points I know about Sun are:

- He’s anxious

- He’s hot headed/ impulsive

- He likes things being organized and clean

- He’s very much a caretaker, good with kids

- He tries very hard to be optimistic and cheerful

- He’s very often the butt of jokes

In the early days of the channel, Sun was much more joyful than he is now. He’s always been optimistic and back then nothing ever really got him down for long. This early show version of Sun actually comes back in the ‘How Sun and Moon FIRST MET in VRCHAT’ episode. He’s super happy, cheerful, super excitable, singing to himself. His voice is FULL of joy. He comes across a problem (trying to figure out where nap time is going to be) and he bounces back from being confused about it and not finding an answer immediately. He’s not unhappy about it at all, nor is he unhappy about not being able to figure it out, he decides not to dwell on it, optimistically stating he’ll figure it out in the future.

That optimism and impulsive decision making has remained but he’s less cheerful, less excitable. He’s anxious all the time and he questions himself a lot, which has been focused on often in response to his actions with Bloodmoon. A really good example that I personally like is in the episode ‘Sun LEARNS Moons SECRET?! In VRCHAT’, the way Sun reacts to finding out to Moon telling him he has no plans to stop Eclipse, that he tried everything and that he’s failed, is to say, “No. No. There has to be something. Like, like literally anything. There has to be something!” Even when Moon is telling him that this is it, they’re out of options, Sun continues to hold on to that hope. Of course, right after he starts to panic because he doesn't want to die, but the point is that his initial reaction was that hope!

Even after he starts to panic about dying, about Moon possibly dying, he’s still trying to come up with options. He says, ‘Maybe we can be stuck together!’ still looking on the bright side! And when Moon starts panicking, Sun assures him that he’s not a virus, he’s not a mistake. It’s very good.

But that’s it. That’s where my, even with all of my re-watching and reevaluating, understanding of Sun ends. And that’s not a lot. It’s paltry in comparison to what I know about Moon.

Which brings me over to talking about Moon.

MOON

In the same way that I started talking about Sun with a less-than-accurate description, I’m gonna start off with a less-than-accurate description of Moon. Contrary to my description and personal understanding of Sun’s character, I’m gonna say something I have seen a ton of people say about Moon’s character.

Moon is an asshole.

I actually very much dislike this summation of Moon’s character because while it is true, Moon IS an asshole, it’s only a fraction of his full character. There are other things that supply his characterization.

The basic character traits I know about Moon are:

- He’s generally rude and mean to other people

- He’s apathetic

- He’s emotionally closed off

- He often resorts to threats and violence as an answer to his personal problems

- He has a lot of unresolved trauma stemming from his time under the virus/ Kill Code and being stuck in a body with Sun

- He has incredible technological and magical prowess

- He dislikes kids, and taking care of them (also not very good at it)

- He has a lot of self loathing

- He has a need to protect the people he cares about at all costs

We’ve heard often about how Moon was trapped in a body with Sun for the longest time. The breakdown he has about not wanting to be stuck again just before October started always sticks out in my mind, it’s one of the clearer moments I always remember from the show. But we never really got a look at that time, despite it being so important to the both of them, until the flashback episode ‘How Sun and Moon FIRST MET in VRCHAT’ and, from their first moments, Moon has always been an asshole to Sun. Their very first interaction with one another was not good, and it came from Moon.

But that was a VERY different situation. And I think it was a very normal response.

Not okay. But normal.

He’s stuck in a body he has no control over. He has no control over himself. He may even feel that he doesn’t have a self. Nobody can hear him (and considering the events of Security Breach are canon in the show, it’s possible nobody cares either). Trying to wrestle control is impossible, and trying to do it anyway is painful for both him and his counterpart. So, he responds to it by taking his anger out on the only other person he can take it out on, the only other person he can reach. Sun.

Sun even tells him in that episode that it’s not his fault they’re like that, he knows it’s not fair, he doesn’t have any control over it either (and in typical Sun fashion, Sun tries to offer solutions, he tries to come up with something that works for both of them) but Moon doesn’t care. He’s mad. He’s not thinking straight.

Different people react to different situations in different ways. Feeling trapped, being stuck in an abusive or awful situation changes people in different ways. Some people become very timid and submissive. Some people get angry and violent. You do things in the name of survival and sometimes these things aren’t good or reasonable. These are completely normal responses for this type of situation, even with the fantastical nature of it in the show.

I don’t know how long they were like this. I do remember a line at some point that they had been separated for a year before the first episode of the channel. They’d had some time apart from each other, so we didn’t get to see much of the immediate backlash of finally being separate, nor have we gotten to see any of the time they were together besides their very first interaction. We got long after. There had to be some reconciling for the two of them to be calling each other brothers by the beginning of the show.

This is Moon’s big traumatic incident, which has never actually been addressed on the show. This is the thing that so much of him revolves around, that fuels so much of him on the show, this powerless situation he was trapped in for years, being stuck in his own head. His need to take care of his siblings, his apathy and issues dealing with personal and emotional issues, his self loathing which stems from his actions (he feels like if he isn’t fixing things, making things, solving problems for people, he doesn’t serve a purpose, he’s worthless). All of it can probably be traced back to this.

It is the thing that a lot of his character revolves around, is this time where he was stuck in his own head with no power. He never wants that to happen again. Yes, he’s an asshole. But in character context, there is an explanation for him to be.

I think regardless of your opinions on Moon, most of us can agree he is often mean to the people around him. Sun, Eclipse, Monty, he doesn’t really pick favorites when it comes to being rude to people, though he is more/less/ mean in different ways to different people. Except for maybe Lunar, in fact he seemed really nice to Lunar even with that small section of episodes where Lunar took over Moon’s body in mid September. He certainly wasn’t as harsh with Lunar as he was with Eclipse. And he’s certainly not as mean to Lunar as he is to Sun.

Though he has made decisions for Lunar in the same way he’s made decisions for Sun, without his consent or understanding. With Sun of course I’m thinking of the trapping episode, because Faffers is incapable of shutting up about the trapping episode lol. For Lunar, I’m thinking about the Good Eclipse stuff. Moon lied to him about needing Lunar to scout a dimension, a dimension he told Lunar right after he “would enjoy” and then sent him to the Good Eclipse dimension without any information. He knew where he was sending Lunar, he most likely knew what was waiting for Lunar there.

Ultimately, it ended up fine. Lunar made a new friend and he started visiting Good Eclipse often. But the issue is that Moon made that decision FOR Lunar without communicating with him and I think also without quite understanding what was wrong, because Lunar has a lot of unaddressed trauma when it comes to Eclipse. Lunar panics when he gets there and sees Good Eclipse. It might not have gone the way Moon wanted and it could have made the situation worse.

It’s just another example of Moon making a decision that wasn’t as well thought out as it should have been, because Moon thought he knew better than the people he was making the decisions for. However, these decisions GENUINELY STEM FROM MOON’S CARE FOR THE PEOPLE HE DOES IT TOO/FOR.

One of my favorite quotes about Moon actually doesn’t come from an episode of the Sun and Moon Show, but from an episode of the Freddy and Funtime Freddy Show. Some quick context: On the FaFFS they introduced a character in August called Shadow Freddy. I’m not so caught up on the lore of FaFFS but I believe Shadow Freddy is a manifestation of Freddy’s magic, which gained corporeal will and form due to Freddy’s lack of use of it. Shadow Freddy’s purpose was to protect Freddy or something. This eventually manifests as Shadow Freddy completely taking over Freddy in maybe early/mid October and he was actually on that channel all the way up until either mid December or mid January (I’m not sure I was just looking at thumbnails rip).

On the 11th of December FaFFS aired an episode called ‘Moon SAVES Ghost Freddy in VRCHAT’ and on the 12th of December, FaFFS aired an episode called ‘Moon VS Shadow Freddy in VRCHAT. Both videos canonically take place in time before the ‘What if ECLIPSE had won?’ episode on SaMS. In these episodes Freddy has escaped his body in ghostly form and run away from Shadow Freddy to try and figure out a way to get his body back. Freddy explains the situation, Moon and Lunar help him out, giving him a temporary body made out of magic and then send him on his way.

The quote in question comes from the second episode here. Shadow Freddy has tracked Freddy to the Daycare, broken in and gives Moon his tragic backstory. Moon is being patronizing the entire time, calling him an idiot and clearly not giving a fuck. Shadow Freddy tells Moon a couple of things about the four wellsprings of power, and about how if Freddy dies Golden Freddy will get mad (which Moon says sounds like fun). Shadow Freddy of course gets frustrated that Moon doesn’t care about any of these really important repercussions he’s telling him about and Moon goes, “Listen here buddy. You don’t understand. Hi! I’m Moondrop! I don’t care about anybody aside from my brother.”

Which is such, it’s such, it is such a good fucking line! It is such a good line to describe Moon! He cares very deeply about Sun, he truly does love Sun! His actions towards Sun stem from a genuine place! A lot of his actions in the show stem from wanting good things for his brothers!

But you can want good things for people and still mess up. You can do good things and still have bad outcomes. You can have good intentions, but they can still be wrong. Different situations call for different solutions and not every answer is the right answer for certain problems. Moon falls into this a lot. He thinks he’s doing the right thing, he’s convinced he’s doing what’s best for people! He’s does things out of the kindness of his heart, doing his best. But he doesn’t have a correct understanding of what the right thing is.

Moon never gained the social skills to effectively deal with problems like this. These skills were warped by his time trapped with Sun and he never got help for it. I saw someone describe it as ‘socially incompetent’ and he himself stated at one point that he doesn’t think he’ll ever understand it (I could not find said quote but I do remember it being said). Which is that self loathing coming back. So he resorts to what he knows.

(It’s one of the reasons why I enjoy that idea someone else had where he watches the show and realizes he was an asshole before he lost his memories. He’d be coming at it from an unaffected angle, with no pre-established effects from that traumatic time which could help him grow those skills without any interruption! There’s no trauma that he has to push past, so it’ll be easier.)

He has good intentions, he wants to fix everything for the people he cares about and he does care very deeply about his siblings and the people that he loves. They’re very important to him, the most important to him. But taking away other people’s agency, making choices without their consent, even if you’re doing it for love? It’s not okay.

There’s more to all of this, but now I’m going to switch over to that second thing I mentioned before, that major opinion about the show.

THE SUN AND MOON SHOW

So, as I’ve mentioned before, I’ve been re-watching episodes from different times on the channel. As of now there are 134 episodes in the VRCHAT playlist, with most of them being ‘lore’ episodes. I skimmed through most of them, taking a look at the different arcs the show has been through and watching episodes I didn’t remember very clearly or hadn’t watched at all.

And I kind of realized that there hasn’t really been a Sun-centric story lines until recently, with the Bloodmoon death arc. Let me try and explain what I mean by Sun-Centric. With the Bloodmoon arc we are looking at a choice Sun actively made and the direct repercussions of it, which still revolve around Sun’s actions. Sun’s killing off Bloodmoon and his subsequent decision to hunt down Eclipse by himself have affected more people than just himself. There is a reverberating effect to his actions, something I don’t really think we’ve had from Sun before. This was the hardest thing for me to explain, so my apologies if it doesn't come across well.

Like, I can’t remember any arcs where Sun has been the primary focus of the story in this way. There’s plenty of them for Moon. For Eclipse. For Lunar. Hell, even Monty has had a couple of episodes dedicated to him on the channel. But for Sun, like, maybe there were some episodes at the beginning of the Eclipse stuff that focused on him alongside Eclipse and I’m sure there was some focus on the Roxanne stuff at one point. ‘Sun Goes on a DATE with ROXANNE WOLF in VRCHAT’ was about Sun and his feelings towards Roxanne, with Moon playing a supportive role in that episode! But none of those really stuck, there wasn’t any butterfly effect from Sun buying Moon a room in space or Sun visiting Golden Freddy for advice after the first fight.

Like, what important events can I think of that might have related to Sun?

July 16th? That wasn’t Sun’s fault, that was Eclipse and Bloodmoon. Sun had no hand in that at all. The Witherstorm? He helped solve it, but he was with Moon and again that was caused by Eclipse. Roxanne’s maternity chip stuff? Eclipse. Sun broke Moon’s computer? Sure, he caused it but then we flipped immediately to Moon and the resurgence of his Kill Code.

Shit! Sun barely even had anything to do with the pre-October stuff. Moon was the one doing all the planning then. He dragged Lunar back to switch him out with Moon that one time, but most of September was about Moon and Lunar. And he was literally GONE for all of October! I remember we saw him one time at the beginning and then he was literally just gone for a month. At the end of the episode ‘The Future of ECLIPSE and LUNAR in VRCHAT’ we see Sun get transported to a strange mindscape away from Moon. That episode aired on the 2nd of October. The next time we see Sun is in the episode ‘Moon REVIVES Sun in VRCHAT’. That episode aired on the 25th of October. 23 days! We were missing a title character for 23 days in October! I remember it, I remember people wondering where he went, being so happy he was back because he’d been gone for so long.

And I want to say that I’m blowing this out of proportion a little but, like, I’ve scrolled through EVERY episode in the VRCHAT list and the only stuff I can find where Sun has had a primary focus in the story is the last couple months. Please, please, PLEASE talk to me about Sun if you like him because I wanna be wrong about this. I want someone who loves his character and knows a lot about him to tell me all about how Sun’s actions have actually been driving the show alongside Moon and tell me all about their favorite Sun episodes where he’s been a driving force in the series. But as of this point, with all my research I just don’t see it!

So. Here’s that big ‘ol opinion I mentioned before.

The Sun and Moon show is a show that’s all about Moon.

Or at the very least the story is! There are, of course the gaming episodes which usually feature Sun and Moon, which I’ll touch on in a bit. For now, I’m just talking about the story/lore stuff.

Moon is an extremely powerful character in two fold. He’s super intelligent. We get examples of this all the time, either just from him being knowledgeable about various things or solving problems with his inventions. He created his AI’s, he’s upgraded the other animatronics, he regularly offers solutions to problems with ideas and inventions and he’s been doing so in the show for a long time. In fact, he’s so integral to the world of the show that they literally established in the ‘What if Moon didn’t exist in VRCHAT’ episode that the daycare was shutting down and the entire building was being closed because Moon wasn’t there to do tech work, which I brought up before.

He’s also a magical prodigy, to the point that Golden Freddy (who is, like, THE magic guy) said both he and Sun have huge destinies in front of them. Even recently, in the FaFFS episodes I mentioned earlier in the post, he gained access to another tier of powerful magic (PRIMORDIAL FIRE BABEY!). He may focus on his technology, but he has solved problems before with magic and has access to very powerful forms of it. When people have magic problems, they go to Golden Freddy or they go to Moon.

I think that, from a narrative standpoint, this makes Moon a weaker character in all of the stories he’s in. By being so powerful, he renders most regular problems moot. There isn’t really any threat behind threats because Moon has proven over and over again he can just solve them with his intelligence and technology or his magic.

I mentioned this in a post back in mid March, around the trapping episode, that I believed the only person who could reasonably contend with Moon is someone with incredible magical power and intelligence to combat his abilities. Which is why I was so excited when Sun got his own magic! Moon, with no context, compared Sun’s magical outburst to Golden Freddy. Again, like, THE MAGIC GUY, Golden Freddy. It’s possible that Sun’s natural abilities will surpass even Golden Freddy’s.

Now, you think this would be held back by the fact that Moon doesn’t like anyone other than his siblings. In fact, bringing up that FaFFS episode, Moon reveled in the idea that Golden Freddy would get pissed off if harm came to Freddy. He was excited about it! Considering his actions in that episodes you’d think he would have sent Shadow Freddy off on his merry way with no help at all, right? Except he did help Shadow Freddy! He still helps people he doesn’t like! Even when he’s expressed that he would enjoy the alternative. Like, he butts heads with Monty all the time but he still assists Monty when he could just do nothing. He helped Lunar, despite Lunar’s participation in Eclipses plans.

This is also the reason why I like the October episodes and the Kill Code resurgence stuff because those were problems that Moon couldn’t solve and we were outright told that. He needed outside help to ultimately solve the problem in October, which came from his connections with Monty and Lunar’s own separate development which didn’t involve Moon at all really. But even with all of his skills, he couldn’t initially fight off Eclipse. He lost.

And in the case of Kill Code, we were told over and over and over again that there was no way for Moon to remove Kill Code without killing Moon! All of Moon’s skills were useless in that scenario, and he had to make a compromise with Kill Code.

But Moon ultimately intended to use magic to destroy Kill Code. And at the end of October, Moon was the one who escaped first and told Sun how to cast the magic. I was expecting Sun to be the one to ultimately solve the problem, because he and Eclipse were so entwined, they were trapped together in the same body for months before October. I still liked how they did it, with Lunar recognizing that what was being done to him wasn’t good and him choosing to betray Eclipse. But at the end of the day, of the two main characters, Moon is the one who figured everything out and gave Sun the tools to fix the problem! Sun didn’t do any of the work to get there, he just cast the spell.

Eclipse was the first big thing that happened. Like, SaMSs first episode aired on 3/24/2022 and they introduced Eclipse barely a month and half after the first episode, possibly even before that because I’ve seen it theorized he was around in some gaming videos I haven't watched (Two months later, in June, was the wither storm battle. 2 months after THAT, in August, they introduced Lunar and it hasn’t really settled down since it started. This show came out fuckin’ SWINGING.). He’s been a main player since the beginning.

After Eclipse showed up, Sun didn’t really get anymore episodes that focused on him until recently, where he took charge and went off to find Eclipse by himself. It was always about him AND Eclipse or about Moon and Eclipse and, like I said before, I can’t really think of any episodes that just focused on Sun.

I think a lot of Sun’s characterization was also built alongside Eclipse, focusing heavily on the similarities and differences between them, without ever focusing on just Sun. They shared the same body, and their story lines were so threaded together that I remember one of the main plot lines between the two was ‘How much different IS Sun from Eclipse?’. Like, Eclipse was Sun. Eclipse was also Moon. Eclipse was also Kill Code. Whereas Suns character is who he is not, and who he is not is Eclipse The main differentiating factor between Sun and Eclipse before now was that Sun did not kill people! And then he killed Blood moon! And his demeanor has shifted enough that Lunar straight up told Sun he was turning into him. I know that whole explanation is confusing. It’s very confusing for me. Hard to articulate well.

(Actually had Eclipse actually killed anyone in the show before Bloodmoon died? I’m sure it was mentioned. Did we visually witness Sun kill someone before we saw Eclipse do so?? I can’t remember and now I’m really freakin’ curious.)

He feels like a main side character in his own show, at best. I think this show has very often over shadowed Sun in favor of Moon, and other characters to a lesser extent, even when Sun probably should have been an integral part of whatever was going on. Moon is often in the center of the plot, a focal character in almost every single arc on the show, and of the two main characters, the Sun and Moon Show is very much a show that has been about Moon.

Which finally leads me into the final stretch of this post where we bring it all together.

OPTION 3

I like the idea of killing off Moon. For a couple reasons.

To start, I think it was just done really well. Like I said, it may have been planned, but for me it was very sudden and took me by surprise. Which is fantastic, because sometimes that’s how death is. Sometimes it’s sudden and it leaves things forever unanswered. When someone dies, that’s it. There are things that will never be resolved, words that will forever remain unspoken, explanations that will just never be received. It leaves characters reeling, and opens up paths for interesting character developments and scenes.

This was also completely in character for Moon. His personal self loathing, which has only been exacerbated in recent episodes as he’s had to face his past mistakes over and over in the last couple weeks, mixed with his regrets over killing people and hurting them making him not want to do so anymore makes his decision to spare Kill Code a perfect decision.

Jumping back to Moon’s message to Sun, he told Sun, “I had to do something. I had to do this. In order to not feel responsible for killing another person.”

“Kill Code’s getting better. He WANTS to live. He wants to be his own person.”

“I can’t kill another person.”

Kill Code had changed. He no longer wanted to kill. He was making the ACTIVE decision not to kill and was then forced by the Creator to do so. He was making the choice to get better, he tried to fight it, he tried to fight his own programming. And Moon saw that. He knows what it’s like to kill, and he doesn’t want to kill anyone, especially someone he believes doesn’t deserve it and Kill Code did not deserve it.

Also throwing this in at the end here, AI1 also straight up told Moon this was the only option. Moon built the AI’s to assist him, they ARE him. He has a lot of faith in them. So when AI1 told him that, Moon trusted them.

It was a fantastic choice on the part of the people who run the show and it’s completely in line with what we know about Moon.

We’ve also removed Moon as the dual-wielding powerhouse he was in the story. Without his magic or his memories, problems that he could have easily solved before with a flick of his wrist or a new invention now have to be solved by the other characters without him as a support net! Also, with him momentarily down for the count, we’re going to get more Sun-centric content!! We’ve already started! It’s already happening and I’m so, so happy about it! I’ve been living for the Bloodmoon stuff. I’ve loved seeing Sun have to deal with the repercussions of what he’s done. I love seeing, well, Sun!! Sun finally feels like a main character in his own show, he’s finally gaining agency in a show about him!

And there’s so many things we could focus on!

Personally, I’d love to see a focus on helping Sun with his own trauma of being stuck in a body with Moon. Because as much as I’ve talked about Moon being stuck in his own head with Sun, you have to remember that Sun was stuck with Moon too! On top of that, Sun was also stuck with Eclipse! Two characters who went out of their way to make Sun’s life ‘a nightmare’, ‘a waking hell’ for something that was both not his fault and out of his control, there is no way in hell that didn’t have some sort of effect on him!

But I also don’t like the idea of this option.

Because I want Moon to have to stand for the things he’s done.

I mentioned above that I felt that Moon has more to answer for than Sun and the main reason I felt that way was because Moon has had so much more focus, he’s had more opportunities given to him to be mean to Sun. The gaming episodes also tie into that! Like I said before, the gaming episodes are where a massive amount of little characterization moments happen, and tidbits of information are dropped. Almost every gaming episode on the show features Sun and Moon so we have seen them interacting a TON. There literally is just more content for us to pull from as examples, for both of these reasons.

Don’t get me wrong! One of my favorite tropes to read about, watch and write about is memory stuff. I LOVE that shit. I think it’s one of the most fucked up things you can do to a character. Loss of memory, the threat of memory loss or theft, memories as a cost, amnesia arcs, because I feel as if memories are such an important part of ones self. Your memories are what make you you and what direct your decisions.

(I also literally JUST SAID that was one of the reasons I like that it did happen this way. But I like that more because it’s very realistic and can bring about interesting things in a story, not because I necessarily want it to happen.)

I’ve also been referring to this as a death this whole time. This is why. To take someones memories is akin to death to me. Death without death. In my mind, if they take his memories, they have effectively killed Moon. Just so folks see where I’m coming from here.

If they truly are planning on replacing one of the VA’s or reset the series somehow, this ‘reset’ is a really easy and quick way to do it! Makes sense!

Narratively? In this instance? I don’t like it at all and I really, really hope they don’t go with this option.

I, personally, have been waiting for catharsis from the trapping episode. I have wanted Moon to answer for that SO badly. And I have seen post upon post upon list from other folks about the things Moon has done and about his actions and the way he treats Sun and the people around him. Moon has effectively spent his entire life, from the moment he woke up trapped in Sun’s body, lashing out and causing harm to the people around him, and while there’s more to it than that the harm has been done.

Wouldn’t it just be so great to see him have to stand for those things?

Learn from them?

Grow as a character?

I want THAT more than anything.

Instead, he’s now become Bloodmoon.

In Moon’s own words, “He couldn’t change. He’s DEAD.”

If the reset goes through, if Moon loses his memories, whoever comes out of it WILL NO LONGER BE MOON. There is no room for character growth, the Moon who did those things will never be able to repent for his actions or face consequences, he will never be able to atone for the shit he’s done because THE MOON WHO MADE THOSE ACTIONS IS GONE. Any apologies he makes beyond that point will be hollow. There won’t be any weight behind those apologies because the memories of what Moon did will be gone and he won’t actually understand exactly what it is he did. He would be apologizing for the actions of somebody else. The Moon we get back will be a completely different person forever. This is an easy escape from his multitude of problems, whether he knew it or not.

And that’s tragic.

And that’s unsatisfactory.

To quote Earth from a couple episodes ago “The choices we make, we have to live with”.

Moon hasn’t really taken steps to get better towards Sun. There’s a lot of unresolved conflict between the two. And he’s never taken steps, that we’ve seen, towards tackling his trauma and the effects it had on him. Maybe he never would have. Maybe he would have never gotten better.

But I don’t think that’s the case! Moon recognizes he has issues, which is the first step towards fixing them! And if Kill Code, an AI designed in his code explicitly to kill things, can decide against his own coding, then Moon is capable of change too. He’s already started! We’ve already seen he’s capable of kindness, and he’s got a ton of love to share. I truly believe he could extend that towards Sun and begin to heal fully.

RIGHT.

THAT’S IT.

After 10 days, several late nights, and… ohlord 11,500+ words I am finally done with this thinggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg

That felt like an adequate amount of ggggggggs. I think I earned that.

I kind of don’t know what to say. If you did get to the end of this, thank you again for reading the ramblings of a mad man! I’m not one much for interacting in communities online, so this is a new leap for me and I’m very nervous about putting this out there. I’m still so nervous I didn’t even tag this post under the Sun and Moon Show tag lol. Oh well.

I still have windblow.... It is Christmas day today....So,damn busy this morning, cleaning and brushing John's fur... I need enough fundings for my son-dog to bring him to the grooming shop. I can groom him but it is kinda hard for me coz his blower was damaged and still don't have enough money to buy him his new blower...

Still, have self-pity, I really want to remove my "deep smile lines" , I wanna perfect my nose and get some collagen on parts that I have to revive like my hands and down there. So, many frustrations in life... I really feel ugly and fat...

I have windblow... Still, planning of visiting Sand Dunes of ilocos one of these days coz it is part of my religious journey... I'm having fear and complex in Conduent, it is a weird emotion....Plus, the new friend that I considered there named Renzi, the last time we talked I asked about her scars on her wrist. She is a tomboy by the way angels and into relationship for 4 years now... I saw her gf on her mobile pretty and still young and still studying...

Hmm... She tried killing herself or just to feel the pain coz she feel nothing that's why she did those slashing on her wrist... I want people to take me as me....So, let's go back to Renzi's story. She said she's getting older and no savings, I can really relate with her story. But the shocking thing was they had an argument on money and as far as I can remember she shared an another story about a couple who broke-up coz the guy suddenly had a money problem or let's say the guy lost his money and the gf wanted to go on separate ways...

So, me and Lu had the same reaction that huh!? We were both super shocked and I was impressed on Lu's synchronized emotion about that particular situation of 2 people, that she was as well super shocked and she commented huh? just because of money they broke-up... I was really shocked as well....

Money was never an issue to me, time that I had a bf coz some xbf's were mature enough to share and some xpartner were as well mature on how to create money though there were xbf's who was not that rich that time but had the ability to make a way, even a lil or let's just say even just,just or just enough or just right or just exact but I was hoping for more. I mean it is just painful being judge by other people and worse your partner that you didn't grow or you have a slow progress... For me coz this is life... I always gave my best effort on getting a job,always trying to be impressive in a way to lift myself even a lil, it can be considered my progress...

Yeah! It is just painful that your partner can't take the worst or ugly part of you. I don't know but this is just my side of my own opinion about Renzi's story...

For me they've been together for 4 years and if it is just because of money that they will go on separate ways, it is just very shallow... As I heard Renzi's story,she was panicking coz of money and her progress but she wanted to stay in her relationship. Renzi wanted to keep her gf... But if Renzi wants to end the relationship coz of money and her pride, well it is a different story.

Okayokay, hi! I know it’s been like a week since you responded to my last ask, but I just started summer semester so it’s been kinda hectic. It goes by so fast since it’s a 6 week semester instead of 12, so I’m already studying for midterms :,(

But anyway! I hope your exams went well and that you were able to pass your classes! It can’t be easy trying to get through school when your mental health isn’t doing so well.

Yeah, I totally get what you mean about Songbirds and Snakes. It’s so so different from The Hunger Games since it’s from the POV of Snow and like…we know what he ends up becoming. So it’s not necessarily hopeful like THG ends up being. But it’s so interesting learning about how he became who he is in THG.

Also! On the subject of THG, idk if I mentioned this to you, but I recently watched a show Josh Hutcherson is in called Future Man (he’s the lead guy). It’s about time travel and it’s super off-beat and there’s lots of dirty humour, and it’s so funny and clever!! I think it’s a Hulu show? But we don’t have Hulu here so I watched it on Disney+. If you’re interested in stuff like that, I would def recommend. Josh is super funny and pretty in it!!

Oh my god I feel that so hard. Since I was 13, my parents have not heard the end of my many celebrity crushes. I think they tolerate my obsessions—at best 😭. Wildest Dreams - In the Death of the Night

After turning 10 and losing her soulmate, Marinette would imagine how Damian Wayne would be.

Would he be tall or short? Did he have blond hair or brown or did he dyed it? Would he be shy or have a bold personality? Perhaps he was an artistic soul, a poet, a writer? Or would he be a baker like her parents? Why did his last name change?

The wonders and questions took over her mind for days with no end.

On good days, she imagined how he would interact with her friends, how her parents would take him in as their own son, how he would fit into her life.

She liked to talk to him, pretending there, alive, with her. She asked his opinion on what to wear, how she should do her hair, what colors with go well with the design. He was her voice of reason. Talking to "Damian" brought a smile to her face, even when she knew she was deluding herself.

On bad days, she pretended he was right there with her, comforting her, encouraging her, whispering that everything would be alright... Sometimes it worked and she felt better the next days but most times she felt bitter, she felt robbed of a future where he was in her life.

The realization that the person she was supposed to share her soul with was no longer alive, that his death was painful, gruesome, and... lonely... It always ended with her taking a few days to prevent a breakdown...

When she turned 13, Hawkmoth appeared and Marinette became Ladybug, the hero of Paris.

Soon after, Marinette stopped talking with "Damian", she couldn't afford to wonder about him anymore. She couldn't afford the bliss of her own delusions. She couldn't afford to let herself grief and fall pray to Hawkmoth's manipulation.

As she couldn't fail Paris and its citizens, Damian Wayne mostly disappeared from her life.

But there were days when her “friends” demanded a lot from her, akumas were too violent and draining and everything was just too much, those the godawful days.

On godawful days she wished Damian was there to take her away to a place she could feel she belonged. Away from everything to a place she could call a home.

Most nights Damian recalls a voice talking to him during the time he was dead.

His soulmate, he supposed, talked to him regularly, she started her day asking his opinion on her outfit for the day, when at home she would tell him how her day went, what she did with her friends, what she learned in class, etc...

At first, Damian was pretty much annoyed that he couldn't "rest in peace" with all the noise pollution but after a few weeks, he slowly started to tolerate her talking to him.

Unfortunately, he couldn't talk to her nor see her very clearly so it was a pleasant surprise when Marinette would ask his opinion to make a decision, she always picked what he chooses.

Perhaps it was their bond that allowed her to know what he was thinking without actually hearing each other's thoughts. Or maybe they were more in sync with one another. Most likely it was pure luck on her part. (Him being dead is enough proof of how bad his luck was.)

In the months he was dead, Damian learned a grand lot Marinette. He liked how she made him feel he wasn't alone, like how her voice calmed him when he remembered the family he left behind in his death. Marinette was his only lighthouse in the vast void of the afterlife

Impotent, despair, and hopeless.

That's how Damian felt every time Marinette had to relive his death. He hated it so much. She didn't deserve that and it broke his heart every damn time.

Why did he have to die? Why did it have to be in such a painful way? Why did she have to feel it on repeat over and over and over again? Was it a twisted way the universe tried to make them reunited? If they can't find each other in life, then they can be together in death? That isn't right!

But it always hurts more when she wakes up and talks to him. Wondering if he was happy and in peace, in wherever place he ended up.

He was there but she didn't know.

He felt sick.

After being revived, Damian felt an immense sense of loss. Sure, he was kinda happy to reunite with his family and grateful for being alive again, but he missed her.

It was difficult to readjust to being alive again, it was crystal clear that Damian Wayne wasn't okay. What hurts him the most was how her name turned into a scar on his wrist.

During the day paranoia settled in making him always on high alert, lashing out when it got too much for him.

In the night, he couldn't sleep properly as a feeling of unease latched onto his every nerve and when he did sleep, nightmares plagued him.

Damian tried to calm down in various ways, but ultimately it was Marinette's voice that soothed him and lulled him to sleep.

It quickly became a habit to replay their one-sided conversations as he tries to fall asleep.

He went over what Marinette Dupain-Cheng spoke to him time and time again as to engrave her voice in his mind. Unfortunately, her voice was fading away, every time he recalled it, he hear his own voice.

At least some memories remained, which was relieving for Damian, even when important ones like what language she spoke or the name of her school were completely wiped out.

He never told his family his experience while he was dead, he guesses Jason was the most likely to know about it but he never brought it up to anyone, so Damian did the same.

Now he was lying in bed, remembering about the time Marinette tried embroidery for the first time.

She started by searching up what she wanted it to be and after much talking, she chose a Robin, Damian smile at the eagerness he felt for her to chose it. It was a fun day, with her making comments here and there about the work, he wishes he could see it.

A knock woke him up of his thoughts, Alfred emerging from the door.

"Master Damian, I'm here to inform you a guest will be joining us for tomorrow's dinner."

"Whose guest?" He didn't really feel like dealing with new people.

"It's Master Jason's guest."

Damian groans, perhaps he could go visit Kent.

"It would be in your best interest to participate, Master Damian." Alfred gave him a look.

He sighed, definitely can't miss tomorrow or he'll have to face Pennyworth.

So, I've written another chapter while listening to a sad song on repeat :') I know it doesn’t really connect to the last chapter but I wasn’t feeling okay and didn’t know how to continue from where I left off.

The wind is crisp, biting at the exposed skin of his face, his fingers.

He doesn’t mind too much though.

The sky is gloomy, like it might rain later in the day. The clouds are a deep grey colour and there's sorrow on the wind. He can’t help but feel like it’s fitting.

“I uh, I’m not sure what to say, I guess. Bonnie said it would be good to come swing by for a little while but uh I’m not sure if she was right.” His voice is shaky and he closes his eyes, hating the silence that meets him.

“I got you flowers. Didn’t wanna get roses cause it didn’t feel right, so I got you some carnations. Nat said that they last a while too which is nice. They’re real pretty. A light yellow type. Maybe peach is a better description of the colour but-” he cuts himself off with a laugh, shaking his head.

“Here I am, trying to describe the colour of the flowers to you when I’m sure you’ve got other things you wanna hear about.”

Deep breath in, deep breath out, just like the two of you always practiced.

“She uh, she turns two in a few weeks, but you know that. I don’t know if I can do it though. Not without you.”

A cold drop of water splashes against his cheek and it’s only then that he notices the warm tears falling down his face.

“I miss you, doll. Every day it feels like it gets harder, and Bonnie says that’s normal, but I don’t know. I feel like it should get easier with time.” He huffs a breath and squeezes his eyes shut.

“Doesn’t help that Beccs is the spitting image of her mom, that’s for damn sure. But you knew that from the first moment you laid eyes on her. You were all smug about it too, said you gave her all the good genes.” He chuckles softly and shrugs his shoulders, “you were right about that.”

He stuffs his free hand into his pocket, rocking back on his heels and trying not to break down right then and there.

“She’s beautiful, (Y/n). Absolutely gorgeous. She’s stubborn, just like you. Real talkative too. I asked Steve when to expect this kinda stuff but he says each kid develops at a different speed.” He clenches his jaw tightly, trying to swallow the lump in his throat.

“I miss you so fucking much. So damn much. I wish... fuck...” He stops, wiping away the tears and leaning his head back to allow the rain to clear his thoughts.

“I wish you were here. This whole ‘parenting’ gig would be a lot easier if you were here to do it with me. I feel like I can never do it right. And Beccs needs her mom. She’s got Nat, but she needs you.” He sniffles and wipes his nose on the back of his hand.

“I’m not saying this to make you feel bad, doll, I swear. I just... I can't keep it in. I feel like a failure. I need your help.” His bottom lip trembles and he makes the split-second decision not to hide it. No, he opens the floodgates and he lets the tears fall.

“Her uh, her favourite word is still ‘mama’. Got her sayin’ ‘dada’ though. And she absolutely adores Tommy. That’s her partner in crime.” He chuckles once, thinking about how the two interact.

A fresh wave of sorrow washes over him and he drops his head, looking down at the ground and letting out a shaky breath.

“I uh, I still can’t sleep in our bed. Steve says I should try but... I can’t. I need you there and I can’t sleep without you. I stay on the couch most nights. Nat gets worried but I think I’m okay. Yeah... I think I’ll be okay.” He lets out another pained breath then shakes his head and falls to his knees, eyes squeezed shut tightly.

“I miss you. I fucking miss you so much. And some days it just hits me so damn hard that I’ll never see your smile o-or hear you laugh. You won't be there t-to see Becca on her wedding day... you won’t hold your grandchildren... you won’t be there when she graduates and we won’t grow old together. No, you won’t see me all gross and wrinkled and old and you won’t tease me when I can barely lift my own damn body. Fuck, I’d give anything to have you back. I would give absolutely anything to see you again. I miss you so much and it’s so hard to live without you.”

He puts his face in his hands, shoulders shaking with sobs as he finally lets himself break.

And break, he does.

He shatters there on that gloomy Thursday morning, heart out for the gods to see, to pick apart. He bears his goddamn soul and he cries. He sobs and he all but screams out his sorrows.

It’s agony.

Living without you has been the hardest thing he’s ever done.

He’d lose his arm ten times over if it meant he could see you again.

When you died you took a piece of him with you, and he knows he’ll never get it back.

“I love you, Doll. So damn much. To the fucking moon and back.”

He kneels there for a long time, long enough for the rain to come and go, the sun peeking through the clouds and the birds emerging from their hiding spots.

He kneels there until his tears have run dry and his heart has stopped aching, his shoulders lighter even if the bags under his eyes are heavier.

“Daddy!” He glances over his shoulder, a wet smile spreading on his face as Rebecca bounds over to him clumsily.

He opens his arms and she runs straight into them, giggling madly and pushing her hair out of her face.

“Do you wanna give mommy the flowers this time?” He asks, handing her the bouquet of carnations. She nods eagerly, sliding out of his grip and gently placing the flowers down in front of the headstone.

“Love you, mommy,” she says quietly, pressing a kiss to the polished granite.

A gentle hand pats Bucky on the shoulder, and he looks up at the source.

Nat stands over his shoulder, a sad smile on her face.

“You’ve been here for a while. Thought we should come check up on you.” He nods, pushing himself to his feet and taking a deep breath.

“I’m okay now. Therapist said I should really talk to her, not just... lay down the flowers.” Natasha nods, pulling the man into a hug.

“We all miss her, it’s okay.” Bucky huffs out a breath, trying to fight the tears but they fall anyway.

“I want one too!” Rebecca exclaims, tugging on his pant leg. He chuckles and pulls away from Nat to pick up his daughter, holding her tightly to his chest and trying with all his might to keep it together, if only for her.

“C’mon. Let’s go get ice cream. My treat,” Nat says, ruffling Becca’s hair then leading the way to her car.

Bucky follows after, pausing for a moment and glancing over his shoulder, eyes tracing over the writing carved into the stone.

the younger girl was totally beating the boy’s ass tho

kinda embarrassing bc she’s gotta be like, seven, at most

as if it’s not the weirdest thing he’s seen (bc it’s not) he rushes in to break them apart

he manages to separate them with his arms

the boy with yellow hair snaps his jaws at his sister’s fingers

“hey! bad! no biting!” he scolds

the little girl blows a raspberry and taunts “yeah! papa says no biting!”

the older sibling just rolls his eyes “rat”

meanwhile, denki is literally malfunctioning

papa?

PAPA? HUH???

the only person’s pants (and heart) he’s been trying to get in to for the past three months was y/n’s and he sure as hell would remember if he did

he didn't have kids

especially one that was his age

“sorry! you two are cute, but i’m not your pops”

thus, they begin to tell denki about how they mayhaps followed him and their mother into a dangerous mission and got hit with a time travel quirk

denki just nods his head

tbh, he’s not that weirded out

weirder things have happened

but, he does have one question

coincidentally, you bust into his dorm room, wet from a recent prank and head steaming with anger

“Kaminari Denki!”

his son juts a thumb over to you

before you get the chance to throttle him, the little girl jumps in your arms and your anger is immediately quelled

funny thing was

kirishima woke up from his afternoon nap with his mini-me in his arms!

at first, he was really confused as to why there was an 8 yr old boy with spiky teeth and (your hair texture) black hair on his bed

he thought he was dreaming

then the little boy bit his nose and grinned like he had done the funniest thing in the world

“WAKE UP DADDY! WE GOTTA GET SWOL TODAY”

did he get hit with some duplication quirk?

and what was that he said...daddy?

as in, father?

kirishima is wide awake now, but before he can ask the kid what’s going on, the boy is up and making use of his punching bag

he decides it wouldn't hurt to get a morning work out in, so he decides to humor the kid

after a mini workout, kirishima is in near tears as the boy tries to flex the little muscles he has

eventually, he gets the kid to tell him what happened and finds out he was hit with a time travel quirk of some sort

instead of being weirded out, kirishima is ESCTATIC

he has a family in the future

he’s so excited and proud that he just has to show his son off to his friends!

the first thing he does is go and bother bakusquad in the common room

he’s bragging like shit to them and his ego swells as they all swoon over how cute and handsome the kid is

you and bakugo come out of the kitchen to see what all the commotion is about and the little boy excitedly runs to you and jumps into your arms

“momma! you’re here! you’re so pretty! why’d you marry daddy when he looks so unswol?”

it’s silent before bakugo fucking dies of laughter

“y-you finally let shitty hair hit it? and got knocked up?? LMAO”

everyone’s dying and kirishima wants to die

he can’t believe this was how his long-term crush on you was getting outted

by an 8 yr old boy

so not manly

you look confused before you put the pieces together

the kid did look like you and kirishima

you want to console kirishima about the crush that you lowkey knew he had on you, but your son was one step ahead of you

with a gracious smile, he hits bakugo’s head

i’m about to kill y’all w this one

since year one, mirio has been feigning over you

but 1) you were too dumb to notice 2) you both were really busy with, y’know, school and 3) he lowkey gave up bc he thought you deserved better

so imagine his surprise when he sees this four year old girl on his bed

and she looks like you with his features

mirio might not be the brightest crayon in the crayon box

but he’s got eyes

and it wasn't like he’s memorized your features to the T

the tiny girl is swinging her legs absent-mindedly before exploding with happiness when he sees him

she runs to mirio and he catches her with open arms

“daddy! daddy! i got hit with the coolest quirk at school today!”

proceeds to tell him about her best friend discovered her quirk and it was a teleportation quirk

mirio can’t help but giggle along with her even tho he knew it was a scary situation for the parents

speaking of which...

he innocently asks her who’s the mom

“mommy is the prettiest mommy in the world! she has e/c eyes, hair like me, and the most beautiful s/c skin! her name is togata y/n!”

if he wasn't geeking before, he’s geeking now

not only did he manage to marry you, but you let him be your baby daddy?

mirio doesn't even care at this point

he’s parading around UA with the fattest smile as he introduces his daughter to damn near everyone

everyone’s freaking out bc wtf when did mirio get someone pregnant??

maybe he should've explained himself, but he sees you at your locker and makes a b-line for you

“good morning, y/n!”

he doesn't notice that you slam your locker close and hide the confession letter you wrote to him behind your back

you’re a stuttering mess and he’s too busy basking in the fact that he’s holding y’alls child

y’all look like a mess

but he’s ready to lay it on thick when the little girl kisses your nose and cheers,

“mommy, i missed you”

he explains the situation

you cant help but smile, “you know this could potentially ruin the timeline?”

and you feel like melting as he gives you the softest smile

“there’s no way I’m letting that happen. not when i end up with the woman i’m in love with. we’ll just have to twist fate together”

and twist it you did

Tamaki Amajiki:

tamaki wasn't the bravest person ever

and he knew his crippling anxiety got in the way of a lot

but he had never been more proud of himself for managing to invite you to his room

it was supposed to be a study date

despite how bold you normally were, he took comfort in how nervous you seemed

now, you two were leaning in, about to kiss

and then a voice from behind interrupts

“uh, am i interrupting something?”

you two let out the ugliest squeal and jump 50 feet away from each other

you’re all over the place, trying to explain the situation

tamaki’s heart is barely beating at this point

it takes the kid, who looks about 16, about thirty minutes to calm you down and revive tamaki

explains that he’s from the future and a descendant of tamaki’s family

decides to leave out that you two are his parents so he doesn't risk possibly erasing himself from the space continuum

that would be bad

despite how surprised you two were, you two take it rather well

you three spend the day together bc you and tamaki feel this weird sense of responsibility for the guy even though he’s only two years younger

the boy is trying his hardest not to expose himself, but it’s so hard

you two are asking him everything from his favorite food to if he has any siblings

he’s good at pretending that he’s cool, calm, and collected, but he wants nothing more than to jump into his parents’ arms and cry about how scared he is of messing up

but he won’t

bc he’s a strong boy

but he slips up

“how far are you down the future?” tamaki asks

“uh, about like 100 years or so--”

“you’re lying”

the kid nearly chokes on his food as his father blinks at him

you try and scold tamaki but he continues

“i don’t mean to be mean, but your nose twitches when you lie. y/n does the same thing”

that’s when the jazz record stops and everyone is staring at one another

“....wait”

this time, you nearly pass out

y’all had a kid together???

THE HELL??

the boy, coincidentally, starts fading and he thinks he fucked up

now he’s full out sobbing into the both of your chests, scared that he’s disappearing

despite the news, you and tamaki calm down, look at each other, and hold your son

“don’t you worry, baby” you coo, kissing his fading hair

“i have a feeling we’ll see you quite soon” tamaki comforts, closing his eyes

Bakugo Katsuki:

bakugo finally understood when his mom said

“the meaner you are to your parents, the nastier your kids will be to you”

he regretted being such a demon bc his kid was literally the spawn of satan

katsuki didn’t need an explanation to know that that...thing was his kid

he looked damn near identical to him with features that he couldn't quite place

but anyways, that wasn't the focus rn

rn, he was trying to figure out a way to keep that animal caged

as soon as katsuki took his eyes off him, the six yr old ran out the door as fast as his little legs could carry him

“catch me if you can, you old bastard!”

yup, it was his kid

“GET BACK HERE YOU LITTLE FUCKER”

his son is blasting his way through the halls, skillfully evading Katsuki’s grabbing hands

he’s wildly laughing as he flips and turns through the doors, watching with glee as his father falls on his face

multiple times

the small boy latches on to a cupboard and smirks

“no wonder mom always beats your ass! you weak!”

katsuki nearly looks like the devil, eyes white, and face red with fury

his pride suffering by the second

he’s about to cuss the kids to hell when you come out of the kitchen, confused

you were about to ask why katsuki looked like a rat with rabies before you caught sight of a basket of fruit teetering on the edge of the cabinet, above the little boy’s head

“look out--”

the basket falls on the kid’s head and he’s on the floor, reeling from the hit

katsuki would've normally laughed his ass off, but he felt kind of...concerned?

he watches you run towards the child who’s trying his hardest not to cry

the boy holds his head, fat tears in his eyes as you pick him up and coddle over him

“i’m sorry, baby. I'm sorry i didnt get there in time”

cue the waterworks

the boy is full-on sobbing into your chest about how his head hurts

you bounce him and kiss his forehead as katsuki checks over the red bump

“you’ll be okay, brat” he comforts, voice softer than usual

in that moment, katsuki can’t help but notice how much a family y’all look like rn

then the dots start connecting and he goes

oh shit

so, maybe, he’s had a tiny crush on you

and it didn’t help that you two were friends with benefits bc yall were horny teenagers

but who knew he’d get the balls to ask you out on a proper date one day

he was such a simp for you gosh it was ugly

“you have to be more careful from now on,” you say to the boy

the brat suddenly looks innocent and katsuki wants to throw him

Summary : Bakugou begrudgingly attends the girls sleepover Mina has invited him to so she doesn’t blackmail him with incriminating material. When he doesn’t answer one of their gossipy questions the way they wanted, they decide to use a little persuasion to guide him their own way (leading to some interesting results).

Bakugou had been dreading today from the moment he agreed to attend this stupid ass sleepover in the first place. Since when did he start caving so easily to puppy-dog eyes of all things?! His friends were starting to make him go soft, and this is NOT something he needs hanging over his head while trying to become the world's number one hero. Especially not from someone who now knows his deepest, darkest secret; he absolutely loves romance anime.

He couldn’t help it, the stories were always so compelling and they drew him in every single time without fail. Sometimes he’d catch himself getting emotional at the worst of the worst shoujos out there, but dammit if he didn’t love a good confession scene, alright?! There’s just something so satisfying about the build-up, the angst, the tension, all of it is just enough to make the stone-cold, stoic future pro-hero shed a few happy tears. He really couldn’t help it. Especially considering he’s been having feelings of his own for someone recently, so that mixed with those heart wrenching scenes..it’s impossible not to cry, okay?!

But now that he’s got someone else who knows this secret about him, he can’t allow it to get out there in the world. Mina is one of his most trustworthy friends, but she’s also the most inclined to gossip. She’s not one to turn away from good blackmail material, and now that she was lying on this pot of gold there was nothing that could turn her away from it, not even good old-fashioned tickle torture like he had already tried. It seemed Bakugou’s real, true, only option at this point was to attend that dumb fucking sleepover and get this shit over with once and for all.

So that’s what he did. Even though he tried his best to ignore the nagging dread building up as the day slowly dragged on, the moment he heard that excited knock on his door at 6 that evening, he knew there was really no escape. He was being forced against his will to have...fun.

With an exasperated sigh, Bakugou trudged from his bed over to his dorm door, throwing it open only to be attacked in a vicious hug by a flash of bright pink. The girl held his arms tightly against his sides as his eyes drooped in annoyance, Mina letting out an excited little squeal as she tired bouncing the boy up and down in her hug.

“Eeeee! I’m so excited, Blasty, you have no idea! Tonight’s gonna be the best night ever!” She giggled giddily, finally letting him go before grabbing his wrist and quickly leading him out into the hall towards her room. He growled at the contact, though didn’t put up any resistance. Better to just get this shit over with and let the little nuisance have her fun, Bakugou thought as they finally reached the door to her room. He could hear chatter from the inside, assuming the girls had been hanging out for a few hours before Mina had decided it was time for her little guest star to arrive. She placed him a little ways away from the door, standing in front of it and facing him with a wide grin. He was taller than the girl, having to look down to her in order to see the bright smile that seemed to be plastered onto her face at all times.

“Okay, so, here are the rules for tonight: don’t be mean. This is a FUN night, I don’t want you ruining it for the rest of the girls, got it?” She pointed an accusatory finger up towards his face. Bakugou only lowered his eyelids in response, obviously annoyed. She sighed, rolling her eyes. “Okay, fine, you can be a little mean, but only because we find it kinda funny sometimes. Just no making anyone cry!”

Bakugou huffed, crossing his arms over his chest and throwing his eyes towards the ceiling. “Fine. No one will cry.”

“Good. Next: actually try to have fun with us! Don’t just sit there all mopey like you’ve done during dorm game nights. Actually try!” Mina entangled her fingers together and held them up to her cheek, giving Bakugou the biggest, most pathetic little puppy eyes the explosive teen had ever seen. “Pretty pleeeeease?~”

“Good god, Pinky, I get the fuckin’ idea! I’ll try, alright?! But if you show that video to ANYONE, so help me god you’ll never see another sleepover for the rest of your damn life!” Bakugou shouted, and though his screams would be terrifying to anyone else, Mina only chuckled in response, throwing up a thumbs up towards her taller counterpart.

“Get ready, Blasty, cause this is gonna be great.”

Bakugou couldn’t help it. He was stiff when he first arrived, feeling awkward and out of place. This wasn’t his territory, wasn’t his environment. He was surrounded by giggly girls who wanted him to play their little games and gossip, and it just felt...wrong at first.

And it just kept getting worse.

“Soo...Hagakure...any new interesting developments with Ojiro?” Mina grinned towards the floating pair of pink pajamas rested on a purple bean bag. The other girls all giggled, Tsu even shoving at Mina playfully with a funny scowl on her face. Bakugou knew what they were talking about, and he was not interested in this conversation at fucking all, and for more reasons than just general annoyance.

“I mean, just the same old same old I guess. Not that that’s a bad thing! I’m loving how we are right now, he’s just so sweet and loving and...yeah. It’s going good,” the invisible girl shifted in her seat, and though they couldn’t see her, the smile on her face was blatantly evident in her voice. “Have you guys got any crushes you wanna discuss?”

Jirou’s face turned bright red, though she remained silent and frozen in place. Mina spoke up first. “Nope! Not for me, at least. Still waiting for the day I’m a pro and can finally try to win some with Hawks. God, that’ll be the fuckin’ day,” Mina sighed happily, and Ochacco just giggled and punched her shoulder playfully.

“You won’t get within two feet of the guy before he files a restraining order,” Uraraka said snidely, making the girls laugh. Even Bakugou had to stifle a small chuckle behind his palm.

“Hawks, huh?” Bakugou finally spoke up, leaning his back against the wall and crossing his legs on the bed. He decided the best way to speed tonight along was to engage in their conversation. It couldn’t be that bad, right?

“Ohoho yeah. What, you tellin’ me you don’t think he’s hot?” Mina chided, looking up towards Bakugou from her place on the floor.

“Didn’t say that. And I didn’t say I was shocked either. ‘Course you picked a pro to crush on and not anyone you actually know,” Bakugou said mockingly, but it only prompted a sadistic grin to appear on Mina’s face.

The pink girl quickly popped from her spot on the ground and up onto the bed with Bakugou, Momo, and Jirou, leaving barely any room on the space. “Hey, what the f-!” Bakugou started, before Mina plopped herself cross-legged right in front of his face, and evil look glinting from her eyes.

“Who do you have a crush on then, Blasty?” Mina’s grin was face-splitting, and the look in Bakugou’s eyes gave her everything she ever could have wanted.

“Crush?! Why would I of all people have a fucking crush!? I don’t like people!” Bakugou shouted, though from how close Mina was to his face right now, it was impossible for her to miss the small tinge of blush on his cheeks. She was striking gold again already.

“I don’t believe you~” Mina sung, her two index fingers wiggling at his chest in teasing mockery. “C’mon, Bakugou, you’re so easy to see through! Just tell us and noooo one has to suffer!”

“The fuck are you talking about?! I don’t like anyone, end of discussion, okay?!” Bakugou shoved Mina away from him (not too forcefully, of course, just enough to shove her towards Momo sitting on the pillows). Mina sighed with a smile, shaking her head with tuts of disappointment.

“Y’know, I didn’t want it to have to come to this, Katsuki Bakugou, but you really leave me no choice,” Mina looked around at her friends with a knowing but evil shine in her eyes, and they all perked up with understood smiles, and Bakugou couldn’t help the tinge of fear he felt shiver down his spine. “Girls...I think it’s about time we introduce our guest to the ‘Persuasion Machine.’”

“The fucking what-!? -hey! The hell do you think you’re doing! GET THE FUCK OFF ME!” Bakugou shouted as all the girls pounced on him at once, all grabbing at him for an arm. Tsu, Uraraka, and Hagakure all took his left arm, while Jirou and Momo prompted for his right, each of them holding onto his limbs back tightly enough where he was restrained. Mina plopped herself down on his outstretched thighs, now uncomfortably close to his face.

Mina wiggled her fingers out in front of the boy’s face, and all at once Bakugou understood what was about to happen. This wasn’t just persuasion. This was revenge for last night.

“You’ve got one last chance to talk, Katsuki. Who do you have a crush on?” Mina spoke in a low interrogator voice that would usually be amusing to Bakugou if it weren’t for the fact he was very obviously about to be tortured by tickles.

“NO ONE, PEA FOR BRAINS! LET GO!” Bakugou pulled at his arms, but in all honesty...he chose not to put up that much of a fight. He wouldn’t let the girls know this, of course, but...if he’s here to let them have fun, then dammit he’s gonna let them have their fun, even if that means sacrificing his dignity even just a little. At least it’s these girls and not anyone who’d actually judge him.

“Fine. Have it your way,” Mina smirked, looking towards her friends restraining Bakugou on both sides. “Girls, pin him.”

Before Bakugou could even blink, the girls had him pinned on his back against the bed, now sitting on his arms.He tried to move them, really move them that time and...nothing. Shit. Oh shit. He was actually restrained now. He really couldn’t move at all.

Fuck.

“Pinky, I swear to god if you fucking touch mE-” Bakugou grunted, locking his jaw together when he felt those evil, evil acrylics scribble on his belly. He squeezed his eyes shut tight, tossing his head to the side trying desperately to distract himself from those skittering fingers that never relented.

“Ooh, little ticklish, Bakugou?~” Mina teased, pushing his black tank top up just slightly to reveal his toned but quivering belly. She scratched her nails along his sides, making him grunt out a giggle much to his dismay.

“NO! I’m nohot!” Bakugou giggled as her index finger scratched right below his belly button, his face twisting up in a smile he absolutely despised. “FUCKIHIHING QUIT IHIHIT!”

“Wow, he must be really ticklish. He broke pretty fast,” Tsu spoke bluntly, and though she was only rationalizing the situation, her words somehow felt so teasing to him in the moment, making his giggles go even higher pitched than before.

“Right? Mina’s barely touched him and he’s already giggling,” Jirou chuckled from her side, her eyes never leaving the giggling boy below her. “Can’t wait to see how he reacts when she really gets going.”

Without warning, Mina began kneading her thumbs into the sides of Bakugou’s belly. The explosive teen threw his head back in mirth, cackling and just barely kicking his legs out behind her.

“NAHAHA! STAHAHAP! FUHUHUCK YOHOHOU!” Bakugou spat out between his cackles, prompting Mina to gasp in mock shock.

“Well I never, Bakugou! Is that really how you would speak to your bestest friend in the whole wide world?” Mina moved her fingers up towards the bottoms of his ribs, sending him into a whole new wave of giggles and cackles, digging his heels into the bedsheets. “Aww, are your ribs sensitive, Blasty? You real ticklish here?~” Mina pinched at his bottom ribs quickly, and Bakugou was hysterical.

“GAHAHAHA! NOHOHO! I’M NOHOHOT! QUIT IHIHIT!!” Bakugou laughed, tugging at his arms restrained by the girls on top of him. “MINAHAHAHA!”

“Oh my god! He never calls me by my actual name! We’re actually getting through to him!” Mina shouted in excitement, slowing her tickles til she was just resting her nails on his ribs in teasing warning. He breathed heavily at the relief, but his cheeks were flushed in embarrassment and he only opened one eye to look up at his interrogator. “You ready to talk yet? Cause I know there’s gotta be a love interest in that mean little head of yours somewhere!”

Bakugou growled up at her through bared teeth, still breathing harder than he wanted to be. “Fuck...you…” He grumbled at his interrogator, clenching his fists in anticipation as he felt those nails just barely start to move again. They moved at an agonizingly slow rate, making him squirm but not yet giggle.

“Maybe we’re not being mean enough. Jirou?” Mina looked up towards the grinning purple-headed girl in front of her, who already knew what she had to do.

“With pleasure, Mina,” Jirou chuckled, extending her earphone jacks down towards Bakugou’s exposed armpits, just barely letting them touch the bare space. Bakugou’s eyes widened in excited fear at the sensation, his body jerking involuntarily.

“NO! Fuck, no, wait!-”

“You wanna talk?” Mina asked, nodding her head at Jirou, alerting the girl to begin moving her jacks in his underarms. She just barely tickled the area teasingly, but he was a puddle of giggles in no time. His teeth were clenched shut and eyes screwed tightly closed, but the high-pitched, breathy giggles that made his chest shake were unmistakable.

He shook his head in answer to her question, before barking with loud laughter as Mina dug into his upper ribs right below where Jirou continued her teasing onslaught of tickles.

“NAHAHAHA! STAHAHAH-” Bakugou cackled, his words getting lost in the mess of laughs and shrieks as the girls continued their torment on his sensitive body.

“Aww, he’s so ticklish! I really didn’t expect this from him to be honest,” Uraraka cooed, using one of her free hands to scribble one nail down his exposed neck on her side. Bakugou let out a surprised squeal, scrunching his head down to shoulders, effectively trapping her finger in the terribly sensitive area.

“GAHAHAHA FUHUHUCK! QUHUHUIT! I SWHEHEAR!” Bakugou screamed with his own aggressive form of pleading, kicking his legs out in playful agony.

“All you have to do is say one little name, Bakugou~” Mina teased, her right hand staying to squeeze at the hypersensitive spot on his ribs, while moving her left to down to vibrate her index fingers into his very lower rib, the exact spot and method he had used on her the night before.

Bakugou lost his mind.

“FUHUHUCK NO PLEHEHEASE! STAHAHAP IHIHIT! GAHAHA SHIT NOT THEHEHERE! NOT THAHAHAT!” Bakugou screamed, bringing his knees up towards Mina’s back in a desperate attempt to curl up, before resorting back to his hysterical kicking like before.

“Tickle tickle, Blasty~” Mina cooed, turning the cackling boy beneath her a bright shade of red.

“Oh, he’s blushing!” Momo awed excitedly, pointing down at the boy’s face.

“NO I’M NOHOHOT!” Bakugou howled, squeaking when the finger Momo used to point began wiggling in his pit along with Jirou’s jack. He threw his head back in mirth, shrieking and cackling at the overwhelmingly ticklish sensations on his body.

“Somebody can’t handle being teased, huh?~” Hagakure pointed out.

“Nope. Poor thing’s gonna break in a minute, I promise you,” Mina spoke as if Bakugou wasn’t even there to listen, which only added fuel to his flustering fire. “So you ready for a break, Explosion Boy?”

“YEHEHES! GOD FUCK PLEHEHEASE!” Bakugou pleaded, gasping for air when all the ticklish sensations stopped at once. Tired, breathy giggles tumbled from his lips, his chest rising and falling in giddy exhaustion. “Fuhucking hell…”

“Crush, Bakugou. C’mon,” Mina crossed her arms, only resulting in Bakugou to roll his eyes.

“Is it that big of a fucking deal?!” Bakugou groaned, jumping with a yelp when he felt a single finger poke his belly button, “FUCK OKAY, OKAY! NO MORE! I’LL FUCKING TALK!”

“Finally,” Jirou muttered, chuckling when she saw Bakugou slightly blush from his spot under them.

“Just...this can’t...this can’t leave this damn room, you got that shitfaces?!” Bakugou’s insult wasn’t laced with his usual fiery aggression, and the girls knew he was serious.

“Bakugou, you would be surprised by the extensive list of secrets that have yet to leave these sleepovers,” Momo placed a non-tickly hand on his shoulder comfortingly, and she could feel the boy deflate relaxingly under her touch.

“Seriously! Nothing leaves this room, Blasty,” Mina gently grabbed Bakugou’s chin, turning his head to face her. His eyes finally met hers, and she nodded. “Nothing.”

Bakugou rolled his eyes, again refusing to make any eye contact with the girls. “Fucking fine...but not because I want to…” he sighed roughly, shutting his eyes tightly before lowering his voice into a whisper that was just audible enough for the girls to hear. “It’s Kirish-”

“YES! I KNEW IT!” Mina threw her hands in the air with an excited screech, making Bakugou jump a little from surprise.

“I kinda thought the same thing, kero. Just wasn’t positive,” Tsu spoke with a finger on her chin before gently climbing off the boy. The other girls followed, and once he was finally free he pushed himself back to his spot against the wall, bringing his knees to his chest to lay his arms on top.

“So fucking stupid...why did you wanna know that shit so bad anyways, huh?!” Bakugou still couldn’t make complete eye contact with any of the girls out of embarrassment.

“Just thought it would be cute!” Mina smiled widely, before turning to face all the girls again. “So, anybody up for Just Dance?”

“Aw, really? You’re turning in already?” Mina whined up at Bakugou who was already making his way towards the door.

“Pinky, it’s 1 in the goddamn morning. I’ve already been tickled to death, played Just Dance, painted Kermit’s fucking nails, watched a shitty-ass horror movie, AND told you my who my stupid fucking crush is; I think I’ve got the whole damn sleepover experience,” Bakugou grunted before turning his body back towards the door before pausing his hand on the knob. “Actually, uh...come out here a minute, Horns. Gotta ask you something.”

“Already told you once, Blasty, they aren’t horns!” Mina said as she got up from her spot on the floor and over towards the door with Bakugou. “I’ll be back guys!”

“Alright. Night Bakugou!” Uraraka waved at the pair with a wide smile. All the other girls said their goodnights as well, Bakugou only nodding in response.

The pair made their way into the dark, quiet hallway together, shutting the door behind them. “So what’s up?” Mina asked in a whisper.

Bakugou pinched the bridge of his nose with a sigh. “How...how did you know?”

Mina’s brow quirked. “What?”

“You said you knew I liked him...how?”

Mina couldn’t help but smile. She shrugged. “Pretty obvious, Blasty. He’s the only one you tolerate. I used to think it was just cause you respected him, but when I found you watching that romance last night, it all just kinda made sense,” Mina chuckled, enjoying the slightly embarrassed silence Bakugou gave her in response. That was before Mina gasped suddenly.

“Oh goodness, I completely forgot! I’ll delete it right now, promise!” Mina took out her phone, when Bakugou made a small confused noise.

“Huh? Delete what?” the boy asked.

“The video I took of you. Y’know, the whole reason you came here tonight?” Mina turned her phone around to show Bakugou the clip of him crying at the screen of a romance anime, which made the boy blush in the dark.

“Oh, yeah,” Bakugou huffed. “You, uh...you do that.”

Mina just giggled before deleting the video for good. “Goodnight, Bakugou.”

“Yeah, whatever,” Bakugou rolled his eyes with a small hint of a smile, poking her once in the tummy. “Night.”

Mina watched as Bakugou trekked his way back to his room, and couldn’t help but smile. She knew, without a doubt, that that explosive kid with no friends…was definitely her friend.

dream finds a list of questions that can supposedly lead to two people falling in love, so him and george try it out on stream. turns out, they don't really need all 36.

“Come on, George. It’s just a couple of questions.” Dream pleaded into the call, making George roll his eyes. He’s been trying to end stream for the past 15 minutes, but Dream always convinces him to go “just a little longer!”.

“36 questions is not just a couple of questions, Dream.” George glances at his second monitor to make sure his green screen was still black and to check a few discord messages. He had no intention to fall into Dream’s trap for another hour of streaming.

“But it says it’ll lead to love!” Dream says, exasperated. He googled ‘questions to ask your friend’ earlier and found a list of them that apparently lead to falling in love. To George, it was bullshit.

“That’s such bullshit.” He expresses.

“You’re no fun.” Dream’s voice lowered, and George can feel the pout Dream has plastered on his face. He can already predict what the next 12 hours would be like with Dream: silent treatment and being a general dickhead. George was used to it when they lived an ocean apart, and even found it amusing, but it was a totally different experience living with him. Dream would mope around, go into George’s room randomly just to not talk to him, and go as far as to blast sad music from his own room across the hall while George was trying to finish up some editing. Sure, it was all light-hearted jokes, and Dream would stop his act in a heartbeat if George was truly annoyed by it, but George still dreaded it.

“Fine.”

Dream immediately cheers up and starts typing on his keyboard while George watches his chat fly by, seeing a lot of emotes and positive messages.

“Okay, um- first question. Given the choice of anyone in the world, whom,” Dream mocks the formality, “would you want as a dinner guest?”

George’s nose crinkles. “How is that gonna make me fall in love with you?”

“Just answer the question.”

“I don’t know! The queen?”

“That’s a stupid answer.”

“What!” George screeches and Dream barks out a laugh. “You’re so dumb.”

“You gotta give me a better answer than that, or else we won’t fall in love with each other.”

George rolls his eyes, but decides to think about his answer. Truthfully, he wouldn’t want anyone special as a dinner guest. “Um. My mum.”

George eyes his chat as it’s filled with “aw”s. He almost scoffs.

“See? That wasn’t so hard.” George wants to punt Dream into another universe.

“Alright, who would you want as a guest?”

“Tom Brady.”

“That’s the stupidest answer ever!” George yells, his eyes wide, perhaps offended that Dream picked Tom Brady out of anyone else in the world.

“Question two!” Dream ignores, “This one is kinda dumb, but would you like to be famous and if you do, what for?”

George hums. “Probably don’t want to be famous-famous. Maybe being well-known for being the first person to invent IRL-VR. I want my body to be submerged in the Minecraft universe.”

“That’s sick. I dunno what I’d want-”

“You’re already famous.”

“Shut up. I don’t even- I don’t even want to be famous, really. I just want to make whoever knows me smile.”

“Aww, isn’t that sweet, Dream.” George teases and he knows Dream waved him off. George has his habits practically memorized.

“Whatever. How about you ask some questions?” Dream sends a link on discord and George reads through them.

“There’s no way these can make people fall in love. What even is this question? Before making a telephone call, do you rehearse what you’re going to say and why?”

“Trust the process. I mean, I do that. I don’t want my brain all jumbled up, I guess. Words are hard.” Dream answers.

“I don’t think I’ve ever done that. I wing it.”

“That’s very you. Next question.” Something about Dream saying that made George smile the tiniest bit, made the serotonin flow through his brain.

“What’s a ‘perfect day’ for you?” George reads. It’s quiet for a moment.

“Hanging out with you,” his voice is sincere, “You and Sapnap. Recording, streaming, anything like that. What about you?”

“Hm. Me too.”

George isn’t one to show his feelings often. He remembers being asked if he did, and he answered with “not ones that matter”. It still rings true to this day. His walls are still built up and that’s okay to George. Mushy feelings aren’t important, but he’d be damned if he didn’t say his heartstrings were playing a beautiful melody during this moment.

The questions and answers fall easily after that. George knows it’s around 1 am, and he should go to sleep, but answering the questions was kind of addicting.

“Do you have a hunch on how you’ll die?” Dream reads the question with a chuckle. “That’s such a weird question to ask someone you wanna fall in love with.”

George tries not to read in between the lines.

“Heart failure. For both of us.”

“You know how I’ll die?”

“We’re Minecraft streamers, Dream. We’ll probably die at 40.” They share jokes and giggles of scenarios where they die and what they’d do, and something about it feels a bit too honest.

“I’ll die the day you die, George. Emotionally and physically.” Dream says, dramatic as ever. George only huffs, and they leave it there.

“Name three things you and your partner have in common. Dream, do you have a secret girlfriend?” They start to bicker back and forth, because of course they do.

“It doesn’t mean romantic partner, you dumbass. Like- it’s like a science partner,” Dream sighs, “Well, we do have a lot in common. We have the same job, we care about the same things, and we love each other! Easy.” Dream answers.

“Who said I loved you?”

“You literally did last night.” George had closed chat a while ago, already prepared for what was to come. He can only imagine what they’re saying.

“They’ll never believe you.” George says with a sadistic grin.

“Ugh. Okay, what are you grateful for in life? You have to answer this.” George can hear Dream get a little closer to his mic, almost anticipating George’s answer. Dream knows how much he doesn’t like to express any feelings, and probably expects him to skip the question overall. George prevails.

“You. Obviously,” and before Dream can get out an aww, George says, “You made my career, dummy, and I’m grateful for that. And my friends, family, all the normal things. Chat! I’m even grateful for chat.”

“Well, I’m incredibly grateful for you especially.” Dream’s voice is soft, almost loving. George rolls his eyes. He could’ve guessed Dream’s answer, but it weirdly hurts him when it was spoken aloud. He doesn’t know whether it hurts because it might be a fun little joke or if it’s because someone might care about him that much. George decides to stop thinking.

They answer more questions, from taking four minutes to tell each other their life stories (“There was no reason to add that detail; you’re so gross, Dream.”) to what significant quality they would want to wake up and suddenly have (“You’re already good at code shit, George. That’s the saddest answer ever.”). They move onto section two of the list, which are deeper questions.

“Is there something you’ve dreamed of doing but haven’t yet, and why haven’t you?” George asks. He knows about Dream’s unfinished projects. There’s probably a million answers to the question, and George would listen to every single one.

“Uh, well. You know I was writing a book, yeah? I was halfway done with it, and I can’t make myself finish it. It’s probably writer’s block, but I don’t think I’ll be able to do it.” George frowned.

“You can’t finish it with that attitude, silly. You’re annoyingly amazing at everything.” George says with a snort, “I don’t have an answer to this. What did you say that one time? Your future is my future? Well, your dreams are my dreams, then.”

George cringes a little at what he said. He doesn’t know his viewer count, but knows that at least a million people will watch that clip out of context. Dream doesn’t say anything back and moves on to the next question.

“What is your most treasured memory?” Dream asks, and George immediately laughs.

“I definitely know your’s.”

“Do tell, George.”

“Our first Christmas together. Sapnap insisted on getting a real Christmas tree, and when we started decorating the stupid thing, Sapnap sees a spider and screeches. Then, our neighbors come knocking on the front door and you had to explain to them that nobody was being murdered, it was just your roommate being a big baby. And as if it could get any worse, I got tree-sap all on my fingers and clothes and you couldn’t help me because you were laughing too hard.”

“Pretty sure I almost choked on my own spit.” Dream adds, and George scoffs. “But no, that’s not my treasured memory.”

George sputters. “What? You’re telling me I told that to thousands of people for nothing?”

“To be fair, you were all soft on Christmas morning, so our first Christmas might be your treasured memory. Anyways, remember the first time you helped me with a code?” George stays silent, giving Dream the answer. “Well, that was the first time we had a real conversation. I made you laugh, then I started to laugh because you laughed, and we didn’t get the code done. It sounds dumb, but I always smile whenever I think about it.”

George’s face falters a bit. God, he just wants to hug Dream; he wants to make a beeline for his room and attack him with affection and make sure he knows that George loves him, platonically or romantically, George wants him to know.

He just can’t express it with words.

“That… sweet.” George’s eyes travel down the following questions and panics, seeing how personal the questions are. He fakes a yawn. “As mushy and stupid this thing is, I’m really tired.”

Dream doesn’t say anything. It almost scares George, but he deafens on Discord and bids farewell to his viewers, who were completely freaking out. George doesn’t blame them. He’s abruptly leaving after a sweet moment? That’s a recipe for disaster, and George knows better. Yet, he clicks the end stream button.

The door to his office swings open instantly and startles George. It was Sapnap, someone he didn’t particularly want to see.

“What the fuck was that?” His roommate whisper-yells.

George groans and slides deeper into his chair, covering his face. “I don’t know,” he muffles.

“Are you even trying to hide your feelings at this point?” He can hear Sapnap close the door and flop on his office’s couch. “You might as well buy a billboard that says ‘I’m in love with my best friend! His name is Clay!’ with a big ass picture of your dumb face beside it.”

“I know,” George whines. “Do you think he knows?”

“He’s not the one I’m worried about knowing. I’ve told you a million goddamn times that he’s too whipped to notice. I’m worried about the fans. They’re gonna go fucking bonkers because of this stream. Clips are gonna be shared. People are gonna speculate.”

George uncovers his face and narrows his eyes at his friend. “Thanks for the reassurance,” he deadpans.

Sapnap rolls his eyes. “I’m being serious, dude. I know you’re very deeply in love with him in the gayest of ways, but you gotta be careful in front of the fans.”

“Oh my God. I know, Sapnap! I know. I forgot we were even streaming. It felt like it was just the two of us, and I got too comfortable. And it was so nice. I can’t even do anything about it now, so it doesn’t even matter.”

Sapnap sighs and pulls himself from the couch. “You need to talk to him before this gets out of hand. You know I love ya, and that I’m here for you.” George cringes out of habit, but nods. It reads as ‘I love you too, I guess’.

Sapnap leaves without another word, and George is left alone with his thoughts. It’s not long before he sluggishly makes his way back to his bedroom. He opens the closed door, enters, and shuts it. He turns around, only to be greeted by a familiar person in his bed, and yelps.

Dream laughs. He’s wearing blue pajama pants and a white t-shirt. His hair looks messed with, and his cheeks seem to have more color to them. George can’t help but stare.

“Well? Aren’t we gonna finish it?”

George cocks an eyebrow.

“Finish what?”

“The questions, dummy. You don’t… you don’t have to. I mean, it’s kinda stupid that I want to do it in the first place, but…” Dream trails off. George hops on his bed and grins lightly.

“Go for it.”

They answer questions they skipped, like what is your most terrible memory (“My, uh, grandma. She died when I was about 14. It was… hard on me.” “Oh, George…”).

The overhead light was off at this point, the only light coming from a lamp on his desk and the stars shining through the window. The two are on their sides, Dream on the right of the bed and George on the left, facing each other, occasionally looking at their phones to ask the questions.

“What roles do love and affection play in your life?” Dream asks, his voice softer than ever. George can almost not answer. He doesn’t know.

“I’ve never been a super affectionate person, so I don’t know. I’ll give you guys quick hugs of course, but with really close relationships, I don’t know what to do.”

Dream looks as if he’s searching for something in George’s face, and George can’t tell what he’s looking for. His movements are hesitant, George sees.

“Do- um. You wanna maybe,” Dream pauses, closes his eyes,and scrunches up his face. “Try?”

“Try what?”

“Affection.” Dream lets out a breath and opens his eyes. “Affection is my strong suit, afterall.” His mouth forms into a teasing smirk despite his eyes showing nervousness.

“Um. Take the lead.”

It’s slow. So, very slow. Dream’s hand raises up and lands itself on the dip of George’s waist. He’s whispering instructions, and George listens. His hands are hung around Dream’s neck, and their legs are starting to tangle together. They laugh when they realize how far apart they are, and Dream pulls him closer. George can feel his heart beating out of his chest as he lays his head where Dream’s right shoulder meets his neck.

“Do you want me to ask the rest of the questions, sweetheart?” It sounded like a coo, and George is surprised at how effortless the pet name comes out of Dream’s mouth.

“Was that okay?” Dream whispers after a moment of George going still. He perks up.

“Yeah! Yeah.”

“Okay.” Dream pulls George closer and rests his left hand on his back. He starts rubbing up and down in slow motions.

George simply melts.

The questions and answers go by slower, and their voices become gentler. Dream announces that they’re on section three now, and to state three true “we” statements. Dream goes first.

“We… are cuddling?”

“Obviously, idiot.” George chuckles. “We are really tired?” Dream hums.

“We meant everything we’ve said tonight.”

“We are going to mean everything we say tonight.”

“You can’t just steal my answer.”

“Just do your third one.”

“We will be ‘Dream and George’ forever.”

Forever is a long, long time. And yet, Dream’s statement is still true.

“We don’t know what is going to happen tomorrow.”

There’s a beat of silence.

“Very vague.”

“Next question, Dream.”

“Alright, alright. Complete this sentence: ‘I wish I had someone whom I could share…’”

Without a second thought, George replies, “My emotions with. Your turn.”

George swears he felt Dream squeeze him.

“My everything with. Every single little thing. Physical, metaphorical, emotional.”

“Even Patches?”

A laugh.

“Yes. Even Patches.”

“Next question.”

“Tell your partner what you like about them and be very honest.”

“Your voice. It’s like… I don’t even know how to describe it.”

“Does it get you going, George?”

“Shut up. I definitely don’t like your smart-assery.” George can feel Dream lean down into George’s shoulder and smile. “I like how you act around people. It’s always different depending on the person. Different with me.”

“I like how you act around people too. You’re almost always bubbly, even though you like to say you aren’t. And, God, your laugh. It’s so overwhelming, but in the best way possible. You have no idea how many times I’ve said the stupidest shit just to hear your little laugh.” George digs his head deeper into Dream’s shoulder. “I also… really like it when you say my name. My real name.”

George raises slightly, gaining the tiniest bit of confidence. “Clay?”

“Yeah. Yeah, that.”

“Clay,” George whispers.

“George.” Dream sounds weak. So, very weak. George gets closer to his ear.

“Clay.”

George can’t tell if he’s joking.

“You’re gonna kill me, George.”

George’s lips brush against the outer of Dream’s ear, and his friend shivers. He decides this isn’t a joke anymore. He thinks the invisible line they had drawn in the sand many years ago has been kicked and stomped on to the point where neither of them remembers the line being there. George goes further.

“Clay, Clay, Clay,” George is still whispering, slowly brushing his lips across Dream’s jaw, and the hands around his waist get the littlest bit tighter.

George finally raises his head to meet Dream, who was a mess. His cheeks are glowing and his eyes are almost bloodshot. His breath is labored and his hands are shaky.

“Calm down, love.” George whispers and raises his right hand to meet Dream’s cheek, who leans into the touch.

“Kiss me.” Dream begs quietly, as if saying anything louder would shatter the moment in little pieces.

An adrenaline rush fills George’s veins. “Anything you want,” he says, and closes the gap.

The kiss is soft. Dream is maneuvering their bodies to be more comfortable, meaning George is pulled on top of Dream. Their lips didn’t part once.

They move together in harmony, both in the kiss and their bodies, putting everything they got into it. It was unsaid feelings and years and years of thoughts, and George felt every single one of them. George is straddling Dream’s middle and Dream is leaning up to meet George’s touch. His hands are rubbing up and down and squeezing George’s hips and George’s hands find their way into Dream’s hair. It’s perfect and imperfect and everything George has been waiting for, yearning for.

They part, and Dream pushes their foreheads together. George assumes they look dumb, but how could he care in this moment?

“Beautiful. You’re beautiful.” Dream says, his breath tickling George’s mouth. He lets out a breath and breaks out into a smile. His hands start brushing through Dream’s hair and George backs away to get a good look. Dream is staring back.

George lunges forward and wraps his arms around Dream’s neck, sending him flat on the bed with an “oof”.

“Jesus Christ, George. A warning would be nice.”

“I love you. I-love-you-I-love-you-I-love-you-I-love-you-I-love-you-I-love-you-” George couldn’t get enough of saying it. George’s dam cracked when Dream held him and fucking exploded when they kissed. He doesn’t have to hold back anymore, so he doesn’t.

“Slow down, baby.” Dream says through a chuckle. He makes George lean up with tans hands on pale cheeks and a lot of eye contact. “I love you, too.”

George’s breathing slows down to a normal, less-adrenaline-filled pace, and Dream kisses him again. George forces his head back up.

“What does this mean for us?”

“Isn’t it a little obvious?”

“Not really.”

“Boyfriends, George. We’re dating now.”

“How do you know I wanted to even be your boyfriend.” George narrows his eyebrows in faux-suspicion.

Dream’s stare is blank. “I mean. You’re- well- you know, um-”

George dismisses this shortly and confirms, “I want to be your boyfriend.”

Dream sighs in relief. “You’re such an idiot.”

“Yeah. Whatever.” George slides off Dream’s waist and lays facing him. Dream turns as well. “Was that question the last question?”

“No, actually. There were a few left.” Dream blinks, then muses, “Guess we didn’t need 36 questions after all.”

“That was the cheesiest thing you’ve ever said and I hate you for it.”

“You wound me, George. You wound me.”

George makes up for it by letting himself be engulfed in Dream’s embrace, and feels tiny kisses on the top of his head. George nuzzles closer.

Yeah, everything was going to be fine.

I LOVE No Straight Roads

Honestly it’s hard to keep me away from a game with great visuals and even greater character design. I knew from the INSTANT I saw these characters that I was going to love it. I just finished it because it’s (unfortunately) pretty short, and even though I cheesed the final boss through it’s very lenient death mechanics (Instant respawn at the cost of a good rank) I actually appreciated that it wasn’t a pure cake walk. I’ve yet to rematch all of the bosses, but since I had genuine trouble with the later ones I’ll hold off on that.

But who cares about gameplay, am I right? I sure as hell don’t. I would’ve bought the game no matter what the hell it was. I wanted the characters (and the music, although I realized that second) and that was it.

First of all, I love any world that is super fantastical but cheesy in its concept, ala a city powered by music, and battles between artists using music. Ideas like this only spawn from a mind that wants to create a fun atmosphere, if nothing else, and it was sure as hell fun. I genuinely love when someone goes so far into a crazy idea and doesn’t waste your time explaining it with real world logic. Wanna know how a city can be powered by music? Shut up and look at the cute virtual mermaid. Lord knows I did. Every once in a while, it does you good to just let the player/reader/viewer just revel in the idea without having to go out of your way to make things seem realistic. It’s not about “turning your brain off” or whatever, it’s picking your battles.

Also, I can seriously love a world with great background characters to it. Any game with the right situation to insert the random nobodies you find onto the streets into the art in the credits really played into the greatness of the world’s less important characters, and that’s always a good thing. It’s technically world building. But, since I always love to pick favorites, I’d have to say my favorite background character is easily Mia, the NSR infodesk assistant. It’s funny, because you can literally search “nsr characters” into Google and she’s the third image result. I love how jumpy she is when you first interact with her, since NSR probably spread the word about B2J suggesting they’re rock thugs who’d beat up anyone, so for all she knows she could die right then and there with a guitar lodged in her skull. She’s probably just some intern trying to pay for college. She don’t want trouble.

Also, I just realized that 90% of the characters in this game have the same body structure that I always love, that being having arms/legs that sort of fan out in width into relatively large hands/feet. It’s a kind of limb structure I fall into so much because it just really hits me right for some reason. I really can’t explain why.

Anyways, I gotta talk about the big boys individually:

Mayday and Zuke are an amazing duo. I’m always a sucker for a cute and crazy girl, but honestly Zuke hit so many of the right notes too. I will say it’s weird to pair the martian Zuke with the humanly-skinned Mayday, but honestly it doesn’t even matter because he looks so cool on his own. I love his weird blocky blue dreadlocks, and his weirdly shaped shirt which bares his chest in the weirdest way... And, oh my god, Mayday’s weird Spongebob background flower eyes? It’s little tidbits like that that really make me jealous. How could I have ever thought of that? It looks so perfect, and I don’t know why. And her little booty jig she does in her idle animation? Adorable. I played as her as much as was reasonable not only because I’m a filthy button masher with little strategy but also because she’s so damn cute. I can also appreciate how she has a tough-as-nails persona while still keeping a semi-girly attitude, like with her falling for 1010 and Sayu. Characters are so much better when they’re a perfect blend of characteristics, instead of being all one-note, like how Zuke is the quiet one but gets heated against DK West, and all.

Honestly the voice acting for every character is great, but I love when Mayday’s VA’s accent shows through. It’s a perfect twang to accent (consider this the only acknowledgement of a pun in this post) her snarkiness.

DJ Subatomic Supernova was going to be an easy favorite since he’s all space-themed. Also, I don’t know why I always end up liking the egotistic characters. Not in the sense that I like their egotistic-ness, but in the sense that I like everything else about them and they just so happen to also be egotistic. The same applied with Empoleon (maybe like my 2nd favorite Pokemon) and Rarity from MLP, probably among others. Either way, I’ll never not love space themes. Not to mention he’s got a funky disco theme, and I’m slowly starting to realize that I am in extreme love with techno-funk styles of music. The instant I heard his music he cemented his place into my playlists.

As for design, I still have no idea what the fuck he is. Clearly AI is at human levels in this world, but if he’s a robot why does he still have hairy legs? But, if he’s a human, is that weird orb his head? Is it just some sort of puppet which he controls from inside his giant jacket? I know I dissed explaining things realistically but I actually want to know with this guy. Even the wiki doesn’t say. Either way, he’s clearly the logical extreme of “being at the center of your own universe.” Even his jacket depicts a solar system, with his hood being the sun. Didn’t see that until I tried to draw him. I really wish this guy wasn’t so tied to his DJ stand so I could reasonably draw him without it. I don’t want to draw his hairy ass legs. It is a great touch for his design though (although I prefer his beta look with pants and long boots, another design trait I tend to gravitate to) since DJs could reasonably not wear pants, since they’re always behind a table.

Sayu is my favorite. It’s so plainly obvious. It’s weird to say that sometimes, because some characters like Sayu are so clearly engineered to be as adorable as possible, to the point where they’re basically a parody of whatever they’re supposed to be emulating, but then they do that so well that they are still likable for what they’re trying to parody. Also, even though I’ve never looked into any vocaloid superstars myself, the fact that they exist and are loved in real life is absolutely perfect to be used as a character design in a world like this. It’s so weird conceptually, but we all know it’s normal and realistic. But yeah, she’s a giga-cutie whom I’ve already drawn and I’ve listened to her theme on loop on many different occasions. Favorite character, favorite track, favorite weapon of choice (What did I say about Empoleon?), which, and I wouldn’t have noticed this myself, looks like the USB symbol you see above USB ports on computers. How crazy perfect is that?

Even apart from my unbridled love for cute monster robot(?) girls, her boss fight is probably the 2nd greatest of them all, at least conceptually. She’s just a hologram, so you can’t touch her, but you CAN disconnect the artists which control her in order to defeat her. It’s the kind of concept for a boss fight that could only work for this type of character. I’m a sucker for the cute girl that provides her voice, but I love how the animator (video editor? the yellow one) actually attacks you with a mouse and lowers the brightness of the setting once he appears. Also, the mocap guy being the deeply-voiced type but still providing the adorable movements of her body. It’s such a great combo of characters, and their little extra art in the credits makes me like them even more. I just wish we could interact with them individually.

DK West was probably one of the most interesting characters visually, especially since I knew of every other NSR member long before the game came out, but I only just heard of him closer to the release. I wasn’t sure where he was placed, but I definitely assumed his gig was the weird shadow demon we saw in the trailers. When I finally saw him in game, I was shocked to hear him speak an entirely different language most of the time, which was really cool. Also, finding out he was tied to Zuke and wasn’t strictly an NSR artist really made him more interesting. You know, if his fucking shadow clone magic didn’t make him crazy cool enough. Even though I suck at his game and am not especially fond of his raps, the visual of him rapping with this giant monster behind him and dozens of weird shadow wingmen by his side hyping him up was probably one of the coolest in the entire game. The dark way they were hyping him up too gave such a bizarre atmosphere, especially since it parallels his seemingly chill and smiley demeanor.

I definitely hope they’ll introduce new bosses as DLC in the future, and make them sort of in the same vein as DK West, where they aren’t the biggest artists ever, but they want to pick a fight with B2J. I’d kill for any extra content this game can provide.

Yinu is obviously special since she was the subject of the demo they put out for the game. Even though I knew all her bells and whistles, she and her mom still beat me a few times in the full game. Considering she’s semi-tied to story-ish spoilers I kinda want to go more into her in a separate section. It is worth considering playing the game first since it’s not hard (with the easy going deaths) and it’s short length.

1010 seriously grew on me as I learned more about them and interacted with them. I got their shtick when I first looked at them, but after seeing that animation of them touring the city on Youtube I was kinda falling for them. Then, I learned that they’re apparently repurposed navy war robots? I mean, maybe not them specifically, but it seems to heavily point in that direction, with the warship cars and “attention!”s and all. It took me a bit to get into their music too, but once I actually fought them and put their actions to the music I fell in love with it. I swear, Neon J’s weird dancing can has some of the smoothest moves in all of gaming. I don’t know whether they mocapped out those movements or got one of the greatest animators ever, but it looks so impossibly clean his part of the song gets me like 30x more hype than it would normally.

Also, their little art piece of them looking at fan mail in the credits is probably one of the most adorable things ever. Even if they’re just Neon J’s puppets, that piece of art really makes it seem like they love every one of their fans. I’m not gonna lie, I might swoon a bit too if they picked me out and gave me some special attention.

Oh yeah, and the fact that Mayday was super sad in her showstopper against them was adorable and hilarious at the same time. The little tweaks they made to the showstopper for each fight were great.

Eve just has to be Lady Gaga, right? Like, an even crazier Lady Gaga. DJSS is Daft Punk (or any artist with a helmet persona, you know what I’m talking about), Sayu is Hatsune Miku, DK West is Kanye West, Yinu is a generic child protege, 1010 is a KPop boyband (just pick one) and Eve is Lady Gaga. That’s just how things are. But, again, this is the kind of boss fight that only this type of character could provide. It’s not just surreal imagery, it’s ARTISTIC surreal imagery. The fight is so mesmerizing in every way, especially by how it starts off so slow and calm and progresses to insanity, as well as the increased emotional investment in the fight making you feel so much more into it than just “That’s the boy band. Let’s fight.” Not only does it get you more invested, but it makes her artistic persona go deeper than just “she looks weird.” She is genuinely conflicted about her relationship with Zuke, and naturally that leads her to literally split him and Mayday apart. That mechanic specifically was the coolest, although I do wish they made it more obvious when you needed to switch over to a different side. I was getting pulverized by her fight too, since there were so many things to pay attention to. Her fight was definitely the best one.

Tatiana and Spoilers:

Let’s be real with ourselves, the twist was so obvious. I do also think, though, that obvious twists aren’t bad if they’re just good reveals. At some point, a person just has experienced so many stories that “only pretty good” twists are easy to spot. It doesn’t mean that the twists are bad, it just means you yourself experienced.

I feel like her transition from rock to EDM was pretty understandable, even as a non-musician. She was so caught up in what she assumed was popular that it basically consumed her. It’s easy as an artist to want to forgo what you truly want to make in favor of what makes you popular, and clearly since her transition to EDM made her the CEO of the biggest company in the city (world?) that probably made her think she truly needed to change her outlook. Then, when she saw B2J try to bring it back, she sort of coined them as being as misguided as she was and knocked them down a peg. Plus, they were kinda being jerks about it.

It’s kinda like the Trolls sequel, where everyone pegs rock music fanatics as being too stuck up in their own heads to appreciate other types of music, which honestly seems more like the case than the alternative. When I first heard of the story of the game, I was seriously hoping they did put an asterisk on B2J’s ambitions because they were a bit sketchy from the start.

That’s kinda where I want to talk about Yinu, because she was the true turning point in what they were doing. She’s literally 9 and yet she’s getting dragged into all this BS. When she said “I hate you all” at the end of her fight, and played a somber tune on her broken piano after the fight destroyed it, you kinda got a kick in the face to realize you’re kinda being an asshole to some of them. Sure, they fight back, but they wouldn’t fight in the first place if they didn’t have to. They are just people who play music under a joint name that B2J just so happened to get in hot water with.

Then, of course, there’s Kliff, who also reeked of surprise villain, and who’s basically the embodiment of the bad side of B2J, where he just wanted to destroy for his own sake and not for the actual greater good. Once B2J realized their mistake, they backed off, but Kliff was so hard pressed to do what he planned on in the first place he wouldn’t stop. I kinda wish he got a bigger fight to his own since he’s clearly a big enough tech genius to divert a whole satellite into one specific building. Maybe the Elliecopter chase bit was his thing, but I do kind of wish he was there to fight against them too.

Even though Tatiana did kind of reform a bit quick, It’s still not too crazy to assume she could see that B2J was just misguided and the fact that they worked to revert their wrongdoings for her sake would make a pretty strong impressions. They clearly can hold their own, so it’s not like she wouldn’t want them to join NSR too.

Oh yeah, and her boss fight was clock/time themed. If there’s a theme under space that I love, it’s clocks/time.

And If I am to be respected by the internet, I must provide a negative opinion to balance out my positive one. I will say that the character model physics (like Mayday’s braids, DK West’s vest thing, Neon J’s fluffy neck thing, etc) got kinda funky at times. Especially DK West’s vest, which was completely messed up for every scene he was in... Also, even though the voices are mostly great, some lines felt a bit off. Just a bit. That good enough? Good.

But yeah anyway that’s another favorite game to add to the pile. Eventually I’m gonna have to compile a true list of my all-time favorite games/movies because I do kind of want to have a solid idea of what my all-time favorites are.
