Halls that seem to go on forever, stairs that curl towards the sky and beyond. Even mirrors that bent time and space to propel students to wherever they needed to go. Navigation was never easy. It took a month for you to be able to find classrooms. Another month to reach those classrooms on time.

Finding one mere student in this empire of a college? Near impossible.

Yet you were never one to turn down a request. Afraid that he would fall asleep in his pursuits, Silver had beseeched you to pass a letter of sorts to his upperclassman , Lilia. Clutched in your hands, you had to remark at its antique qualities. Rolled up into a scroll, stamped with a ebony black seal of wax.

Hello? Technology exists? You did suggest a phone call. However, Silver took that chance to pass out cold on the floor. Last you checked, he was still snoring peacefully in the gardens.

Lucky him.

You’ve searched the main campus, peering in windows for a glimpse of your elusive upperclass man. Running around Night Raven College like a madman, scanning every nook and cranny for tufts of neon pink hair layered with black.

Your search yielded nothing. Not hide, nor hair of Lilia Vanrouge.

At this point, you were hot, weary, and exhausted. Dragging your feet to the mirror hall, you resolved to throw this letter into his room, and be done with it.

“Accursed Upperclassman. A million curses upon his name…”

A tap on your shoulder. You whip around, mouth half open, a retort already on your lips.

No one.

Nerves, perhaps, Diasonmia was not a place for the weak hearted.

Another touch, this time, trailing down the nape of your neck. Cold, nails scrapping at your skin. A warm breath, caressing your earlobe

“Why, hello there, Little one.” A deep voice, partially purring into your ear.

Your shoulders stiffen. You’ve been in this world long enough to know your ranking among the people of this universe. A magic-less prefect.

So you’ve picked up a move or two. Spinning around, you launch yourself forward, swinging your fist at your assailant. A sickening crack, as your fist connected with bone.

A grunt, before your assailant crashed onto the floor. A flash of recognition flashed across a pair of red eyes. Staring at your attacker, it finally started to kick in.

The prankster of Diasonmia, himself. Lilia Vanrouge. You just punched the vice-housewarden of Diasonmia. Scrambling to your knees, you grab his face in between your hands. Tilting it slightly to the side, you wince at the bruise swelling on his cheek.

“I’m so sorry Lilia, are you alright?”

Barking out a laugh, Lilia cups your hands in his, holding them in place.

“I’m fine. I was hit with worse, training Sebek and Silver. You do pack a punch though, prefect.”

A sigh of relief escapes your mouth as you allow your shoulders to fall. Thank goodness he isn’t… too injured. Lilia’s eyes narrow slightly, his lips curling up in a dastardly smirk.

His hands creep down to your wrists, holding them together. Lilia leans forward, nose brushing against yours.

“However, you did mar my adorable face.”

He presses his cheek against yours for good measure, arms snaking around your shoulders.

“I hope you’re ready for the consequences of your actions, my beloved little prefect.”

(a very late valentine's day special) how twst characters would fall in love with you!

okay, so when i created this blog last year, i didn't have much time to write something for valentine's day, but i thought that i should try and write something for it this year!

at first i wanted to write something like "how twst characters would confess their love for you", i wanted it to be a reference to the "how twst characters would react to your love confession" series i made back when i just created this blog and i still only have the heartslabyul, savanaclaw and octavinelle hcs. i am sorry. but to be honest, i didn't have a lot of ideas and it was hard to find inspiration, so i decided to go with something different. but who knows, maybe i'll actually write it one day! also i know that this idea is very basic and i'm sorry.

this post has all nrc students (except ortho) + rsa and nbc characters, so GET READY BECAUSE THIS IS GONNA BE A VERY LONG POST.

also i'm having some really bad internet problems rn and even though i can use mobile data, EDITING ON MY PHONE IS A PAIN. I CAN'T DO ANYTHING. and idk when wifi will start working again and i'll be able to use my computer again, so sorry if this post looks weird, has typos and stuff like that, I JUST WANT TO POST IT ALREADY. ♡ he doesn't understand you at all. you should be afraid of him, you should actually hate him for what he did and how he acted earlier. he was the first to overblot in front of you, he's sure it was quite a traumatic memory from you. and it's not like he treated you better than he treated other nrc students, he was just as willing to punish you for any "misbehavior". so why.. why do you still want you and riddle to become closer? you simply don't think that riddle actually had bad intentions, he just genuinely thought that everything will be okay if he just follows the rules and makes others follow them. so.. you don't think he's a bad person or anything like that. just someone who has a lot of issues and doesn't know how to deal with them properly. and after you say that.. riddle starts feeling very strange.

♡ falling in love with you feels so sudden, riddle doesn't remember being this interested in you when he first met you. he has to admit that he even kind of.. looked down on you back then and didn't think you were that special. though the case of you being the only magicless student here really was special. he also was angry at you because of you being so close with ace and deuce.. but now, he feels different. as he learns more about you and starts getting used to your company, he realizes that he actually likes you a lot. he even admires you, because it must be hard to deal with so much stuff as someone who's magicless he's sorry for being the first to overblot btw. he's always here if you need any help.

♡ why did he fall in love with you? well, you're certainly a very smart, strong and kind person, but the main reason was.. he was just happy to be understood by someone. he didn't expect you out of all people to forgive him, but it sure was a nice surprise. you're always here to calm him down when he's close to using his unique magic or yelling at someone for breaking the rules again, however, you don't blame him for acting like that and you say that his feelings are valid, he just has to find a better way to express them and process them. so.. it probably just feels nice to be seen as someone other than a rose-red tyrant.

♡ as someone who said some pretty bad things about you and grim when you first met.. wow, it feels embarrassing to admit that he has a crush on you now. imagine making fun of a magicless human and then falling in love with them. yeah, that's ace. so, how did it happen? he's not sure when exactly he got feelings for you, it just.. happened. you two became so close, he actually couldn't imagine spending a day without you. everything just feels so boring when you're not around. pranking you or showing off to you or just talking to you makes his day, even if it's just you going "ACE D:<", he loves seeing your reactions.. and maybe, he loves you.

♡ it's hard to notice him acting any different when he's in love with you, but if you pay closer attention, you can see him blushing after you praise him for something or you can notice him asking you to hang out with him more often. he also sometimes freezes for a moment when you call him your friend, it's almost like he's asking you ".. but are you sure you don't wanna be more than friends?". but right after that, he goes back to his usual behavior and he's surprisingly good at hiding his crush on you.

♡ falling in love with you feels fun and kinda sad at the same time, because even though ace tries so hard to act confident and he claims that you love him just as much, he's actually not sure if you love him back or not. he doesn't mind being seen only as a friend, being friends with you is cool, but also.. yeah, he wants more. and he's not sure if he's ready for a serious relationship, considering what he did in the past to that girl he used to date. he knows that he would never do that to you, because you're so much cooler than that girl and you're much more interesting, but he also doesn't want to let you down. but if you do love him back.. he will try his best to treat you right, though it doesn't mean that you will be safe from his teasing and his pranks.

♡ out of all the heartslabyul boys, i imagine deuce being the one to get a crush on you earlier than all the others. you're just so nice and sweet and understanding.. you also didn't judge him after you heard about his past and even said that you're proud of him for trying to change and become a better person. after that, deuce couldn't get your words out of his head and became extremely loyal to you, he's always here if you need any help and he feels so happy when you praise him or want to spend time with him.

♡ it's very easy to notice him having a crush on you, honestly. he tries really hard to hide it, but he fails and ace laughs at him every time. he can't say anything properly when you compliment him or smile at him and he starts stuttering, giggling like an idiot or he simply runs away and ends up tripping and falling. it makes him even more cute though and you can give him more attention to get more reactions like that from him or you can pretend not to notice on purpose.

♡ falling in love with you feels like something completely new and that's understandable, deuce has never experienced a feeling like this before. and even though at first it was just a very huge crush, now it actually feels like something more deep, it's like.. he really is in love with you. spending the rest of his life with you sounds scary and he's not sure if he's ready for something like this, but when he imagines it, it makes him feel soft and even kind of excited. he will understand if you reject his feelings, he has not the best past, but if you say yes to him, he will try to become the perfect boyfriend for you. he already knew that he wants to become a better person for his mom, but now he has two people in his life that he wants to change for.

♡ when cater first met you, he thought you were cute but.. that was it. he didn't think much of you, honestly. don't get him wrong, he thought you were very cute and he would love to be friends with you! but.. he really didn't think that he's gonna fall in love with you later. he just enjoyed hanging out with you, talking to you, he loved the way you smile, he loved the way you laugh and.. wait, that's just him thinking you're cute, right? but not, like, in that way, right? because cater doesn't think he's quite ready to admit that he has feelings for you.

♡ cater is not sure how exactly it happened and why he got a crush on you. it's like.. he just feels more safe around you. it's like he can actually show you his real self and you won't judge him. of course, he's still not sure that you would actually be okay with him acting like his real self and he doubts that you would even like that side of his.. but for some reason he still feels like he can trust you. so he may or may not drop a few hints that make you go "cater. dude. are you okay." no, y/n, he's not okay, this poor man needs a hug.

♡ falling in love with you feels exciting and terrifying at the same time. cater feels truly happy when he's with you, he manages to forget about his problems at least for some time and his smile looks a lot more sincere than usual. but he's also.. scared. he doesn't think that you will love him back once you find out about his real personality, maybe you will accept it, sure, but would you really want a boyfriend like that? honestly, he should be grateful for you wanting to spend time with him even when he's being his "fake" self. he shouldn't ask so much from you, he should thank you for even just being friends with him. so whenever cater hears you laugh at his jokes, he feels genuine happiness but only for a second before he remembers that you will most likely never love him as much as he loves you. or will you?..

♡ oh boy. this guy definitely didn't expect to fall in love with you. no, he didn't expect to even become friends with you. you were just a weak little herbivore to him, nothing special, nothing out of ordinary. you were very a bit annoying sometimes too. but when you started saying things like "i want to get to know you better" or "i want to talk to you more".. that's when leona got very confused, though he didn't show it. why would you say things like that? what do you even want from him? is it because he's a prince? oh well, sorry to disappoint you, but he's actually a younger- "i just want to know why you're so lazy all the time.".. okay, this wasn't the answer he expected. he will tell you to go away, but don't pay attention to that, he's actually more interested in you now.

♡ leona just can't understand why you're like this. why do you spend so much time with him? why can't you just let him nap in peace? he actually jokes about you having a crush on him once and he expects you to go "h-how can you say things like that so casually!..". but you manage to surprise him again. "well what if i do? what are you gonna do then, huh?" okay, maybe he did underestimate you a little. just a little bit. you're slowly becoming more and more interesting and he hates to admit that he wants to know more about you. why? well.. he wants to know why you're so annoying all the time.

♡ falling in love with you feels weird, but also surprisingly entertaining. leona never knows what you're gonna do next and for some reason he even finds it exciting. he somehow manages to act like a tsundere and flirt with you at the same time. yes, he will go "ugh, why do you have to ruin my day like this" whenever you step on his tail while he's asleep, but he also will say things that make other savanaclaw students think that he's about to confess his feelings for you OR you two are actually already dating. does he know that he's in love with you though?.. he will need some time, but he will eventually realize it. and he's not gonna be happy about it.

♡ ruggie didn't really pay much attention to you at first, but he has to say that you're really fun to mess with. he never gets bored of seeing your reactions and sometimes he would steal stuff from you just to make you look at him. he knows that it probably sounds weird, but don't worry, he definitely doesn't have a crush on you, haha.. hey, why are you being so kind to him? why do you cook/buy food for him? why do you keep asking him if he needs any help? ah, maybe you just want a favor from him? you want him to help you with something, don't you? why would you have any other reason- "i'm just worried about you, that's all." oh no. oh no he's about to catch feelings.

♡ your kindness scares ruggie a bit, but he also keeps wanting more. he doesn't understand your motives, he doesn't understand why you're so worried about him. you just say things like "oh, i thought you were tired from doing leona's job all day" or "i thought you looked tired, so i just want to help you out, if that's okay". they may sound like nothing special, but ruggie feels weird whenever he hears you say stuff like that. he just jokes about you being too pure for someone like him, but he's actually kind of serious about it. are you sure you want to be friends with him? or.. maybe you're actually in love with him? don't worry, he's just joking around~

♡ savanaclaw boys wouldn't find you that special when they first meet you and jack is not an exception. he thought you still have a long way to go and you have to put more effort in what you do. he also thought you looked too weak and "fragile", so he made sure to remind you to train more often, if you can, or to just take better care of yourself. i-it's not like he's worried about you. it just bothers him that you always look so tired all the time and it doesn't look like you get enough sleep too..

♡ however, you manage to impress jack and he's surprised to find out just how hardworking you really are. no matter what happens or how hard your life in twisted wonderland may get, you still try to achieve your goals. sure, you may whine a bit and say that it's unfair for a magicless human like you to go through so much, but you still do what you have to, no matter how weak you look. jack sure finds you more impressive than leona and he doesn't even notice how fast he starts to admire you and even fall in love with you.

♡ falling in love with you doesn't feel like something special because jack isn't even aware of his own feelings at first. he just thinks you're very cool and he respects you a lot and wishes to help you whenever he can. he just always wants to be by your side and support you when you need it. you're much stronger than he thought you were when you two just met, but he still thinks that in a world like twisted wonderland.. you deserve to be protected. and he's more than willing to protect you from whatever life throws at you. he realizes that he's actually in love with you when he notices that he feels a bit weird when you're around. this feeling is warm, but also so confusing.. and whenever you say goodbye to him, he doesn't want you to leave. b-but that's just because he admires you a lot, right?

♡ azul didn't think you'd be that useful to him at first. it's not like he can make a deal with you or take your magic.. but still, being friends with a ramshackle prefect might actually help him in the future. so yes, he will try to become closer with you anyway. he's sure it will be easy to make you trust him, he just needs to make you believe that you can rely on him and who wouldn't want to have a friend like azul in such a scary world, especially as a human who has no idea how twisted wonderland works?.. well, it's actually not as easy as azul thought it would be.

♡ sure, you do want to become friends with him, but whenever he tries to help you with whatever you're struggling with (for a price, of course) or he tries to make himself seem as a kind person who genuinely wants to help others, you simply go "thank you, but i'm fine".. what do you mean, you're fine, y/n, he knows what crowley makes you do, just ask azul for help already! but as time passes, azul starts to notice that he actually wants to help you not because he needs you to make a deal with him.. but just because he really does feel bad for you and he wants to make your job at least a bit easier.

♡ falling in love with you feels strange and unexpected, azul wasn't prepared for this at all. he didn't think that he would actually become so attached to you, you were supposed to be another student who he can manipulate, so why do you feel like one of the most important people in his life now? he doesn't think that it's love at first, him thinking of you as his actual friend is already too much for him.. but then his overblot happens. and you forgive him for everything. and you tell him that no matter what, you accept him and even though he still has some.. um.. not so good qualities to work on, you'll be there to help him and support him. okay, maybe he actually is in love with you.

♡ jade thought you were an interesting and unique person right when he met you for the first time, but you were just that: an interesting and unique person. nothing more, nothing less. he would love to know more about you though, so don't be surprised if he starts talking to you more often or asking you more questions. this man wants to study you in a lab, okay. oh, and even though he sure does seem suspicious, he actually doesn't have any ulterior motives, unlike azul. he just can't go "hey, i like you, let's be friends', no, he has to act like his usual self that sometimes seems more dangerous than floyd.

♡ he doesn't even notice falling in love with you, but he sure notices becoming more interested in you for some reason. he always wants to know what you're up to, he wants to know more about your interests and he's always here if you need someone to talk to, whatever the topic is. he only starts thinking more about his feelings for you when floyd mentions jade being "totally in love with you". jade thinks floyd is just joking at first, but then floyd says that he was serious and jade's crush on you is more obvious than he thinks. and the funny thing is that.. jade is surprisingly casual about it. he just goes "oh. so i have a crush on them. okay". he never felt like this before, so he's a little confused, but it's not like he's about to have a breakdown because he just realized he's been in love with you this whole time.

♡ falling in love with you feels sweet and exciting. jade just thought you were a fun person when he first met you, but now it's hard for him to imagine his day without you. you've made him feel emotions he has never/rarely felt before. it's so unusual for him to worry about you, laugh at your jokes or be angry at someone who ruined your day. and trust him, all of those emotions are sincere. he's not pretending, you really made him feel all of this and even though he's not used to feeling this way, he can't wait to find out what else you're going to make him feel.

♡ just like his twin, floyd already thought you were interesting when he just met you. he always followed you everywhere, he kept pranking you just to see your reaction and he thought that you getting annoyed with him was cute. and he found you even more interesting after he realized that even though he kept messing with you, you still let him hang out with you and didn't ask him to leave. huh, so you actually like his company, shrimpy? well, he's glad to hear that~

♡ floyd's feelings for you don't feel like a crush at all at first. he just thinks you're cute and that's it, really. but for some reason, he really hates it when he has to leave or when you don't give him enough attention. sometimes he takes a break (he doesn't tell azul anything though) from his work at mostro lounge just to hang out with you and he feels bored whenever you're not around. he has no idea why he feels like this, but.. who knows, maybe he really does like you, hehe.

♡ kalim is kinda oblivious when it comes to crushes.. no, he's very oblivious. he really does believe he just likes you as a friend and even though it's true at first, as time passes, literally anyone can see that kalim treats you even better than people who he calls his friends. and considering how kind and friendly he is, this guy basically never leaves you alone even for a second and you get gifts from him every single day. he's constantly trying to come up with ways to make you happy and he thinks you have the most beautiful smile in the whole world. but yes, he definitely doesn't have a crush on you <3

♡ you and kalim would most likely have that friends to lovers dynamic. he's very easy to get along with and even though his energetic personality may be overwhelming sometimes, if he sees that you're tired or sad, he will tone it down a bit and ask you what's wrong. if you're not doing so well, he will genuinely worry about you a lot and he's okay with doing anything to make you feel better. he doesn't understand why your happiness matters to him so much, but.. maybe he just doesn't like it when someone is sad. and when YOU are sad, he feels like it's the end of the world and he has to do something about it immediately.

♡ jamil's case is actually even worse because if kalim at least knows that you two have a good relationship and that you are friends, jamil is like "?? idk who you are to me. can i trust you. can i call you my friend". he thought you were okay when he first met you, but didn't pay too much attention to you, though he certainly appreciated you being.. you know, a more "normal" person than most nrc students (especially kalim). he actually feels like he can rely on you, honestly. he won't talk to you too much though, who knows what you're really like jamil if you're hiding something it doesn't mean that everyone around you is like that

♡ jamil doesn't understand why he feels so strange around you. at first he feels like he can trust you, even though he still tries to stop himself and tells himself that you can easily stab him in the back. and why are you so nice to him? you're probably just trying to become friends because you think that having a close relationship with someone like him could be useful, right? well, he's not gonna fall for that. and stop praising him all the time already. he told you that he's just a vice dorm leader and his abilities are not that special- wait, why does he feel good after hearing your compliments. oh no. oh no, he doesn't want you to stop.

♡ falling in love with you feels scary and jamil doesn't want to admit that he sees you not only as a friend (though he won't tell you that), but also as someone who he loves and wants to be with. you actually listen to him, you give him love and attention that he always wanted and you recognize his talents, but you still think that they are not the only good things about him and jamil is also just a very good person who deserves to be loved. jamil doesn't feel like he's ready to open up to you just yet, but he really doesn't want to miss a chance to finally find someone who will care about him as much as he cares about them.

♡ your relationship with vil definitely had a rough start. he criticized you a lot, he told you to take better care of your appearance, health and all of that. you felt like this guy hates you and tried to avoid him as best as you could. however, you were wrong and even though vil still thought that you could do better and you have some things to work on, he didn't hate you. in fact, he thought you were an interesting person who has their own talents and abilities, but they have to work on them more so that they can achieve their goals faster. so yeah, he basically tried to motivate you, but he probably didn't do a very good job.

♡ other people can notice vil giving you quite a lot of attention but not in a good way. it means that he's especially harsh on you. most students start to agree with you and think that the guy hates you, but his vice dorm leader knows that it's not true at all. rook is sure that vil is being so rude just because he believes you're better than most nrc students and he wants you to reach your full potential. but wow, it really feels like vil is almost obsessed with you. rook mentions that vil almost never stops talking about you lately and vil says that it's not true- no, rook, don't even joke about vil having a crush on you.

♡ rook would be very affectionate with you, however, he would take his time and wouldn't confess his feelings for you that early. he wants his confession to feel unique and special, he has to be prepared for that moment! he also needs some time to learn more about you. he wants to get to know you better, he wants to know what kind of person you are, how you see the world and he hopes that this way he will be able to predict your reaction to his confession. but of course, he doesn't do it just to earn your trust, he really is curious and wants to know more. you're just so interesting to him, he wants to know what exactly made him fall in love with you this hard.

♡ lilia thought you were cute right when he first met you. your reactions to his sudden appearances were so funny, it was hard for him to stop surprising you like this. at first your relationship dynamic was just like that, lilia kept surprising/scaring you, you screamed, he laughed and asked you to not be mad at him, he just likes your reactions too much. but as he started learning more about you, he realized that there are so many things he likes about you and it's not just you being an adorable scaredy-cat.

♡ for some reason, even though you wouldn't be able to tell from his behavior, lilia feels very calm when you're around. it's like his thoughts about his past and everything that he had to go through during his very, VERY long life can finally give him a break when he's with you. he doesn't have to worry about that, he can just stay here in present. and actually, he likes staying in present much more now thanks to you. but you're so naive, so innocent, so fragile, lilia thinks it's cute but he's also extremely worried about you because of that. you weren't made for this world. no matter how much you get praised for your job as a prefect, twisted wonderland is still too much for someone like you.

♡ your kind words and your support make silver enjoy hanging out with you too much. he lets you watch him train, he finds it relaxing to take a nap when you're there with him and you run your fingers through his hair while he's asleep. even though he seems like a chill guy, he's scared of letting his father and his master down, but he always can rely on you when doesn't feel confident enough and he needs someone to tell him that everything is gonna be fine and lilia and malleus are already proud of him. and you're proud of him too.

♡ chenya himself thought you were quite interesting and he was even more surprised when he found out that you came to rsa secretly from other students just to see him. haha, you really betrayed your own school like this for him! wow, y/n, that's something only a lovestruck person would do! but he has to admit, he likes you even more now. just what kind of person are you? you're so full of mysteries and chenya isn't sure if he wants to know all the answers or it would be more interesting to keep it this way.

♡ falling in love with you is fun and exciting. you keep spending more time with chenya no matter what other nrc students think and chenya likes to make jokes about stealing you from nrc students so that you never have to leave him. is he just joking though?.. well, it doesn't matter. what matters more is that you both always end up having so much fun and you feel so comfortable with each other that there's been multiple times when one of you was very close to kissing the other. and lately, it's been very hard for you both to control your feelings.

♡ and yeah, it turned out that rollo really wasn't the best person to trust. he hated magic with all his heart and he wanted it to disappear. and it was hard for him to choose between his growing love for you and his hatred for magic, but then he managed to convince himself that he's doing all of this for your own good and in the end you'll have no other choice but to agree with him. after rollo is defeated, he expects you to hate him as much as others hate him, but to his shock.. you forgive him. you had to deal with six overblots, even though nrc students saved the day this time, it's not like they're much better than him. so yes, you think rollo still can change and you want to give him a second chance.

♡ after that, rollo's love for you becomes even stronger. he can't stop thinking about you and it's hard to tell if he's in love with you or he's obsessed with you. when you have to go back to nrc, it gets even worse and everything around rollo reminds him of you. he really wishes you could spend more time together and he wasn't so focused on his plan. he's gonna be honest, he doesn't really regret doing.. well, all that, but the fact that he could use that time to talk to you more makes him think that maybe.. maybe trying to steal everyone's magic wasn't a good idea. yes, he thinks so only because he could spend more time with you instead of taking everyone's powers. listen, he needs some time, he will change. probably. maybe.

Dude is n it p ic k y, there’s no malice but the guy is intensely observing everything Vil does daily so he definitely has stuff to say no matter how good you do

If you don’t mind the bone crushing pressure, this is probably the most helpful session you could get with genuinely good advice and tips at least in the realm of drawing people as beautiful as Vil

Rook is very skilled at staying still for prolonged periods of time even in the most precarious positions so go crazy (revenge)

Usually he’s the observer so to be the one being observed is kind of nice to him in a way

Once you’re done he improvs a unique poem about your masterpiece and how much he loves it 

Whether it’s stickman or hyperrealism on ms paint, he’s framing your work and hanging it up in his room

Next thing you know there’s a scented letter full of flowery poems detailing his gratefulness and his awe at your skill, as well as a huge oil painting of you ready to be hung up somewhere in Ramshackle dorm

This stuff probably comes naturally to him

Vil hasn’t gotten around to teaching him how to pose for portraits yet cuz he’s really trying to hammer in the basics first but he will do his best!!

After you actually manage to convince him to do it that is

Posing for a portrait sounds stiff and boring and he’s already forced to put up with that everyday at his dorm

Bribes? Pomefiore basically has everything he needs and more

Food? Vil is gonna kill him if he eats anything outside his meal plans

A place to hide from Vil? Ramshackle is falling apart, he breaks in visits every other day with the other first years already

Your hand in marriage? I don’t think you should be offering something like that for a portrait

A competition? Ya bet yer ass I’m winnin

And now you’re drawing Epel while Epel is drawing you, with the other first years acting as judges

Honestly pretty fun, the atmosphere is light hearted

The other first years are arguing at the side and both of you aren’t super cut throat about it, cracking jokes and laughing at the dumbass combo whenever they do or say something distracting

You exchange the portraits at the end and Epel actually had a good time so it’s a win win situation and yall get to have a sleepover later

He challenges you to an apple carving competition next

Leona walking back to his room frustrated from practice and just wanting to take a nap he hears your scream as he walks down the hall then a thud he immediately run to his room throwing the door open only to see you in the corner of his room and his bed a mess "what the hell happened?" Pointing up at the spider he's sighs rubbing the back of his neck, he grabs one of his shoes he gets the spider to move on the wall and he kills it mumbling about "your lucky I love you" under his breath you stand up and he grabs your waist and pulls you in bed with him "don't you think it's only fair to be my pillow after I helped you?" You end up napping together. Rip your school work

That evneing he was off running around doing tasks for leona and what not you wanted to do something nice so you got him some doughnuts. you where waiting in his room and thought maybe you should clean alittle picking up laundry and trash nothing to big like moving his stuff around but you moved the laundry basket to the side and boom the loudest scream could be heard coming from ruggies room, you jumped on the bed falling over in the process but quickly got up a spider could be seen crawling away from where you where standing 0.5 seconds ago and climbing up the wall watching it the entire time as your eyes got teary. Ruggie was on his way back to his room happy to see you after a long day a cheary smile on his face till there was a loud scream from down the hall in his room. His ears straightened and he started sprinting to his room opening the door he see you standing on his bed "what happened? Are you okay?" Very much confused and concerned the boy started at you, lifting your arm up and pointing to the wall you looked at him with tears forming in your eyes. Looking where you where pointing he sighed "your going to have a hard time back home.." mumbling under his breath he took his shoe off and killed the spider. looking back at you he walked over and started teasing you till he smelt doughnuts "got something for me?" His voice very playful seeming to be calm now you reach in your bag and hand him a box of doughnuts.

Out for his morning run you of course still in bed because I'm not getting up at the ass crack of dawn to go running anyway you stayed the night at his dorm and where just waking up did your morning stuff Yada Yada then you decided to check out Jack's cacti. Examining them and looking at the ones starting to sprout flowers, you turned one of the pots to see one of the sprouting flowers and almost dropped the pot you placed it down and backed away immediately a brown garden spider crawled away and into another pot. You where leaned up against his bed and almost stared crying, jack opened the door to his room surprised to see you still here you look up at him and he sees youe teary eyes "what happened?" You explained theres a spider in his cacti pots and he sighed "you mean the garden spider? Was it brown?" You nod your head "oh they actually help the plants they eat other bugs and stuff but I can take it outside if it bothers you" you can see his tail wagging slightly he grabs an empty water cup from his desk side and a piece of paper caught the spider and took it outside after he comes back he takes a shower then if you ask about it he'll explain more about cactus facts with spiders and bugs! Sweet boi!

It was becoming a bit... Much. And you weren't the only one noticing.

"Rook has been a bit..." Deuce hesitated as you, him and Ace walked through the main college building after a long day of classes.

"Unhinged?" Ace added unhelpfully, cheeky smile on his lips as he walked with one arm behind his head.

"That's rude, Ace." Deuce chided, but his expression said he didn't entirely disagree, "he's just been very... Into you lately, Y/N." Deuce finally said, and you could feel your cheeks turning red at the comment.

"Yeah, what was today's poem? 'Everyday with you gives me a thrill, my dreams you richly fulfill', yada yada yada?" Ace teased, his grin widening when he saw the red tint on your cheeks flush down to your neck.

"Come on, Rook always compliments everyone he sees..." You retorted, keeping your eyes on the ground as you knew your rebuttal was weak at best. Ace scoffed and Deuce shook his head, his lips pressed into a thin line.

"Please, you can't tell me you actually think he serenades everyone like he does when he sees you." Ace gibed, and Deuce couldn't help but nod in agreement. "He got down on one knee in the cafeteria the other day to offer you a napkin." Deuce pointed out and you felt your cheeks grow hot again as you remembered the scene. Thank Seven that Vil dragged him away before he could continue.

"So, like... Are you two dating?" Ace blurted out, his and Deuce's curious eyes on you now. You squirmed, fingers fiddling with the hem of your blazer as you kept your eyes glued to the floor.

"No! Of course not... I mean, I don't think so?" You felt your blush deepening with every word you spoke and you opened your mouth to retort further when you were suddenly interrupted by a shout from nearby.

"Trickster!"

You, Ace and Deuce all froze in place as you recognised Rook's voice calling out to you. You didn't have a chance to react as he was already walking towards you, his usual whimsical smile on his face as he stopped in front of you.

"My, your face is rather red, Trickster! Like the ripest of apples! Is everything all right?" Rook inquired, and you heard Ace snort beside you and you dug an elbow into his side. If Rook saw, he said nothing, keeping his eyes trained on you with his usual fanciful smile on his lips.

"Yes, yes. I'm fine, Rook. Did you need something?" You said, fluster obvious in your tone as you tried to pat at your cheeks discreetly, as if that would somehow will away the colour in your cheeks.

"I wondered if you had a moment to spare? It would make me the happiest man alive if you would grace me with your presence for a walk around the grounds?" Rook all but sang, his hands gesturing in his usual eccentric manner. It looked like he'd break into another one of his compliment filled routines any moment, so you quickly stepped forward and agreed in hopes of saving your cheeks from colouring any further.

"Y-yes sure, that would be nice..." You looked back at Ace and Deuce, giving them an awkward smile and a small wave, "I'll see you guys later." Ace and Deuce both uttered farewells, but could not hide the curious looks on their faces as they watched you and Rook walk away.

You let Rook lead the walk, even as he kept close to your side, close enough that your arms were brushing against each other. You felt your face growing hot again. In an attempt to compose yourself, you broke the silence between you, "Rook, can I ask you something?"

"Of course, Trickster! I adore your questions!" Rook responded with a flourish, turning his green eyes upon you once again. Hunter's eyes, eyes that felt like they tracked your every move, you could almost feel a shiver ready to run up your spine. You cleared your throat and looked away briefly, finding it easier to ask your question when you weren't staring directly into his unnerving gaze.

"Um... Well..." You began, and Rook hummed in acknowledgment, his eyes still on you, and you suddenly felt so much more self conscious. However, you swallowed and carried on, "you know lately... You've been very..." You paused.

"Yes?" Rook enquired, whimsical smile still on his lips, his face giving nothing away.

"Well... You've been giving me a lot of compliments lately... And other things... And it's been a bit... Much..." You had finally mustered up the courage to look up at Rook again, only to cringe back when you caught sight of him.

Rook stood, his eyebrows raised, with his hands pressed dramatically over his heart.

"Mon dieu! Trickster, I can't believe my displays of affection have caused you distress! Oh, how I lament this turn of events!" Rook mourned, his hand raising so the back of it rested against his forehead as he leaned back, like he was a damsel in distress.

"Rook--" You tried, but he had already began.

"It can't be helped, when I see your shining beauty, my heart soars--"

"Roo--"

"My, it is a shame... Nay! A crime! That the rest of campus is largely unaware of how brightly you shine!"

"Rook."

"Why, is it not admirable that I make it my mission to enlighten the masses to your precious allure?"

You bit your lip as you watched him continue to wax lyrical about you once again.

"I would be able to retire a happy man if I knew but a few were enlightened to how wonderful you truly are." Rook finished, taking his hat off with a flourish.

Silence fell between you, with you and Rook left staring at each other, him in his ridiculous, flourished pose and you, awkwardly with your hands at your sides. The silence stretched between you, only to be broken by your undignified snort as your stiff composure crumpled in a heap of giggles.

"Rook, you are ridiculous!"

You wiped at the tears that were forming in your eyes as you laughed uncontrollably, feeling your ribs ache from your mirth. When you finally were able to look up at Rook, you could see a cheeky glint in his eyes as he righted his hat back onto his head.

"Ah but Trickster, you love it." The smile Rook wore was rugged and charming as he made his way back to your side, curving an arm around your back as he guided you to continue your weekly walk, which you always eagerly anticipated.

"But can you tone it down a bit? Vil will string me up if he catches you on your knees in the cafeteria again!" You asked with a pout.

"Non, non Trickster! I can tone, but the direction will not be down!"

"Rook!"

As Floyd dragged Yuu back to Octavinelle, and then the Monstro Lounge, they couldn't help but be surprised at the amount of people they had run into over the past two days. With the actually surprising amount of friends they had it would normally take a few days to properly spend time with every one, but at this rate Yuu was going to talk to every one of their friends within the day.

"Hey Shrimpy, spend the day with me and Jade today. Azul keeps being boring with work and stuff" Floyd clung onto Yuu tightly, more so shoving them where he wanted them to go than letting them simply walk with him.

"Maybe he's being 'boring with work' because he actually has work to do?" Floyd grinned at their sarcasm, not taking it to heart.

As Yuu was accompanied (shoved) to the lounge they saw Jade almost as soon as they had entered. It must've been a slow day because the lounge was relatively empty, enough for even Azul to be seemingly taking a break in one of the booths.

"Ah, prefect. How nice to see you here." Jade smiled at Yuu, and they couldn't quite decide if it was more or less comforting than the grin from his brother.

"Hi Jade, how's it going?" Yuu wrestled themselves from Floyd's grasp, as Jade walked them over to the booth where Azul was, and where Floyd was already making a statement to flop down in dramatically.

"Very nicely, though it is a welcome surprise for you to be here." Jade pulled out a chair for them, rather gentlemanly, and Yuu accepted it without much question. More often than not it seemed Jade was the one thing keeping up the lounge's appearance of a refined establishment.

"Blame your brother, he practically kidnapped me." Jade chuckled, and Floyd made a childish pout, turning his face from the prefect.

"Oh well I can hardly assume that's a bad thing." Azul joined the conversation, giving Yuu a smile that had a 50% chance of being fake, but was welcoming none the less.

Jade joined the table soon after, setting a drink in front if Yuu. Azul claimed it was 'my treat' when Yuu offered to pay.

"Still keeping up the Octavinelle benevolence then?" Yuu laughed to themself, allowing themself to enjoy the drink without shame.

"Oh, of course. I'd hardly be a worthy housewarden if not." Azul finished his statement with another sly smile, earning a grin from Floyd and another small chuckle from Jade.

Oh Ortho would love to visit, but he doesn’t usually get to go with the Octavinelle trio and stays by Idia’s side; and Idia probably hates the idea of visiting Scalding Sands, because it’s way too hot, and Kalim and Jamil are there, and Kalim is annoying and Jamil is scary, and the whole thing is going to be awkward, what is this really, a college reuinon? Yada-yada, mumbling Idia noises.

But still, they’ll visit them at least once. Even if Azul isn’t persuasive enough, Ortho’s puppy eyes are going to break Idia’s will for sure.

We like to joke that this happens because Malleus learned the art of flirting from Lilia.

Now I can’t stop imagining Malleus’ confused blinks when he learns about the dom/sub positioning of some of the couples.

Anon, he fits the role of an Ace Attorney Prosecutor PERFECTLY, and he would be SUCH AN ANNOYING BITCH TO PLAY AGAISNT LOL We love Ace Attorney very much, so we also joke about Riddle being a prosecutor from time to time. I have at least one sketch related to this topic but we posted it on ko-fi.

Our go-to is usually to give Ace the Attorney role, not only because of his name, but also because him being confrontational with Riddle is always a fun thing to imagine.

Imagine Riddle’s angry sprites as a prosecutor… he’s even worse than some of the Von Karmas… at least he doesn’t use a whip I guess lol

They’re intriguing! It’s always interesting when someone who isn’t Malleus gets Sebek’s kind-of-sort-of-approval (a very important achievement I know), and Jamil somehow managed to do it. Maybe it’s because he managed to sit through Sebek’s hours-long rant about Malleus’ grateness in that one vignette, but it honestly shows just how interestingly their personalities play based off each other. Jamil is constantly done with everyone’s bs, but he’s unfrotunately tolerant enough to take a passive role and listen. But he is also enough of a tease to enjoy Sebek’s “cute” and silly moments, like when he watched him almost fight a goat during the Glorious Masquerade event. So I feel like to him Sebek would be a massive pain in the ass (and let’s be honest, with Jamil – who isn’t?), but also have his surprisingly endearing moments.

But this is based on their interactions in the Glorious Masquerade event + that one vignette in which Jamil promised to listen to Sebek’s odes for Malleus lol

The thought has never occurred to me because to be honest, just like Silver, I never question anything that Lilia does lol

But I can picture some people from the NRC being confused about Lilia and Malleus’ relationship, because they’re definitely closer than just being friends… so while I’m not sure if they would think about them as a married couple(or who should get married), some people definitely think they’re banging lol

And Silver is very chill about it… if only these people knew the whole truth about Lilia’s relationship with both Silver and Malleus… marriage is the last thing that would come to their mind lol

Can I request prompt 7 with Octavinelle? On days like holidays I usually have a hotpot! I generally thought it’ll be funny as the hotpots I have consists of a lot of seafood. I’d imagine they would like hotpots though. In one way or another.

Comforting Meals

Author note: I love hotpot, my family usually uses pork or beef with a lot of vegetables. One of these days, I need to ask my mom or sister how they do theirs. I also did them all together, I didn’t think about doing them separately before finally finishing this. I had some trouble leading into the prompt and was getting nowhere, so it took a little while longer.

Prompt: Octativnelle following reader’s family tradition that they enjoy.

Warning: Fluff, Shrimp cannibalism, Poly Octo trio, and that’s it.

They say that food the ultimate comfort and you agree, considering it plays a big part of families. Usually around the holidays, families gather around food and spend time together, enjoying the warm and satisfying feeling at the end of the meal. You would probably be doing the exact same thing, but all your family was busy with their personal lives and wouldn't be at home. You decided to spend the winter break alone at Ramshackle until Azul, Floyd, and Jade offered for you to stay with them since they usually stayed on campus.

It was nice to not spend the holiday break entirely alone, you would spend time with doing homework with them and get help from them. During your stay, you noticed Azul not eating with Twins and you at dinner and would pass his room to see him, still awake, in the early hours of the night. You sighed and decided to do something about it, hoping to get him to rest, then went off to the kitchen to see what they had on hand.

In the morning, you left with Jade as he was going to go hunt for some mushrooms and borrowed a broom to head down to town to see if they sold what you needed on your list. Thankfully, there was a morning market, and it was lively as people sold various things. You browsed before coming across a place that sold kitchenware which is where you found an electric hotpot, one big enough to feed four people.

Sam and Ruggie would be proud of your bargaining skill which got you to pay a more reasonable price for it and quickly found a place that sold the noodles you needed. You socialized a bit and helped a few elderly couples with carrying their groceries. Once you were done, you flew back to the school and put the broom back in storage before heading back to the dorm. Once you got back, Floyd was doing his own thing while Azul was busy, meaning Jade hasn't returned from his hunt yet. You head to the kitchen and start preparing dinner.

Music playing softly in the background as you chopped up some vegetables and cooked some noodles while feeling you were being watched. Then you feel weight on your shoulders and a familiar whine, there was only one person who gave you this experience. 

"Floyd, may I help you?"

"Shrimpy, what could you possibly be making that needs all this stuff?"

"Something that my family has whenever this time of year comes around. Why don’t you go get Azul and tell him dinner is almost ready?”

“But I wanna stay here with you~” he whined, rubbing his cheek against yours.

“Do you wanna be here when Jade gets here?” 

Immediately, he ran out the door of the kitchen, leaving you alone with the music as you continued to cut things to add. You had a couple moments of peace before hearing the chaos outside the kitchen door and decided to go play peacekeeper. You place the knife down on the counter and wipe your hands on your apron then walk out to see Azul and Floyd clutching together as Jade tried to feed them one of the mushrooms you presume he found on his hike today, they ran and hid behind you. Break has been somewhat peaceful, but not too quiet, especially with these three.

“Jade, as much as it is amusing,” You intervene. “Stop scaring your poor brother and Azul.”

“But (Y/N), I’m only blessing them with the knowledge of this fascinating fungi I’ve found.”

“Last time you did that, Floyd and you were high off your asses while Azul and I watched you two do the macarena on the bar. Now all of you go wash up while I get dinner ready.”

You shoo them away towards their rooms before going back into the kitchen and grabbing the small plates as well as bowls of different vegetables and meats. You set them around the small round coffee table before setting up the portable hotpot. You start preparing the base of the hotpot, the broth, and humming to yourself as the savory aroma then put some floor pillows down. Getting up to grab the remainder of the dishes and the noodles, you place the small plates and bowls with utensils before taking a seat on the couch and starting to add some vegetables and meat as well as some fish. 

You let a shrimp cook for a bit in the hotpot before picking it out with your utensil and blowing on it then taking a bite out of it as a test to see if its the right temperature. You smile, melting a bit at the taste, and add some more.

“Eeehhh Shrimpy’s eating a shrimp, they’re a cannibal now. Azul, change them back!”

“But Azul, they’re so cute,” Jade added in, squishing your cheeks a bit. “Does this look like the face of a killer?”

Azul stares at you, raising an eyebrow, before speaking.

“Yes, truly an evil genius and cold blooded killer.” He responded, sitting on the couch. “So what is this exactly.”

“This is a hotpot which is somewhat like serving yourself. You can add anything, and let it cook as well as soak some of the broth.”

“Anything?” Floyd asked, sitting down on the floor pillow.

“Many things that are savory, thinly sliced pork or beef and seafood is the way I usually go.”

You demonstrate how they would cook the thin meat in the broth, explaining that you only need to have it in there for a couple seconds before they could eat it. Jade was ecstatic that you added mushrooms which you threaten to feed to Floyd if he didn’t eat some vegetables. Azul asked you more about it as you all ate, causing you to explain that you would usually have this with your family, but since they were all busy this year, you decided to stay at school with them rather than be at home alone. You listened as they all told stories of their childhood, the twins ganging up on Azul by telling you about all of his adorable moments. Thankfully, you made enough to feed all of you and they consumed a majority of the meal, leaving some vegetables and meat as well as noodles. Floyd moved onto the couch with you and cuddled you, sleepily rambling about how he wanted more and to do this every year now. Gradually, he falls asleep and Jade picks him up to go put him in bed after you give Floyd a good night kiss. You ate a bit more before feeling weight on your shoulder, turning your head to see Azul snoozing quietly. You smiled and put your bowl down before gently laid him down on the long couch and took his glasses off then kissed his forehead. You start cleaning up and taking the dishes to the kitchen then put away the leftovers and start doing the dishes. You dried your hands off and turned before crashing into a chest, looking up to see it was Jade, smiling.

“I am deeply moved that you shared a tradition of yours with us, I’m surprised that you were able to knock Azul out.”

“What? You think I used a warm meal to make Azul fall asleep so he could finally sleep?”

“Such a deceiving cute face and act, you evil genius.”

“But you wouldn’t have it any other way.”

“That’s quite true.” he said, patting your head. “Quite a caring shrimp you are.”

You both shared a short kiss before finally turning off all the lights and took Azul to bed to find Floyd laying in Azul’s bed. You all just bundled together and fell asleep with a full stomach and a warm feeling.

The years after that, it became a tradition to do hotpot with the trio and if you think if you’re spending a year without doing it, you’re dead wrong.

They persuaded your family to “invite’ the three over every break now if it was too cold for them to go home or their family was busy. Your family started asking which one you were dating, resulting in the three having shit eating grins.

If you ever need to reach for something that's too high up for you though, he's more than happy to get it for you! He's super nice about it too, basically running to you like "hey do you need help?! 🥺"

Even if he might be like that, you're still the mother-like figure to the school. I'm sure you help him out a lot too, like making sure he doesn't break more lab equipments (honestly you help Jamil out so much by just being there).

He really likes how you care for others, sort of like how the benevolent sea witch was considerate to all. He's especially grateful with how you appreciate him for who he is, you're sort of like a comfort of his ;-;

Overall he loves how much you help out around the school and is more concerned with how he can learn from you to maybe love himself a little more.

So I was playing twst and is already in the Scarabia book heheheh! And got this really nice idea that took place after Crowley gave the mc a phone but before meeting Jamil at the cafeteria.(if only I could continue playing if weren't for my mom locking the game from my phone just when I was able to recover my twst account oh well no point in ranting...)

Overview: Crowley gave Mc a phone and they ended up finding really weird stuff in it.

A day has already passed after Crowley and your friends went on a vacation for winter break.

It was just you and Grim along with the ghosts in the dorm and those staying on the campus.

It was really lonely if you were back at your world you would be spending the whole break with your friends, family, and such.

NRC was silent not the annoying and uncomfortable silence just a tad bit lonely since only a few stayed.

Sigh.

Well you could maybe occasionally visit Octavinelle for some extra company but you are still a bit shaken with all the events that occurred.

Grim was busy playing with the ghost so some alone time won't be so bad.

Grabbing the phone that the headmaster gave you. You decided to scroll through magical and explore the other features and such of the device, ignoring the reminder he told you earlier when he handed it to you.

Scrolling through your phone you opened the messages and contacts icons. Wanting to chat with either Ace or Deuce maybe even Jack(?)

But noticed that there were quite a lot of drafts and messages...

"Huh, oh why am I even surprised that this was a 2nd hand device? Knowing that oh so ✨gracious✨ headmaster of NRC. But why wasn't it removed? Did he perhaps forgot to? Or maybe he didn't check it first before giving it to me..."

Being the curious type of person you decided to read through the messages and drafts hoping to find something to blackmail that damned crow

Opening the log, most of it seemed to be addressed to 'self' some we're to Crowley and some were to...!!!!

"What?! The frick is this??" Some of it was addressed to their friends Ace, Deuce, Jack, Leona, Riddle, and many more even those they aren't even close nor had a conversation and only heard of those people from their friends.

"So...the old owner must have been friends with them all...."

Mc pondered whether to snoop some more or to respect their privacy and of course, curiosity got the better of them.

Deciding to check the messages addressed to the people they know.

And all seemed normal, casual talks and such, questions about their classes, etc. Noting that the previews user is a student and is probably a first year like them since they would often ask and talk about the lessons they were taught.

"They seemed really close with them. Oh! They know about the overblots...so I probably saw or passed by them often."

After that they decided to check to messages drafts addressed to themselves.

Upon opening the first message, dating around the first day when they also came here they were greeted with a really odd text.

No this ain't HP, NRC is more of a cult! A cult I'll tell you!!! God, I wanna go home! Then then!! There's this cat or tanuki. WHATEVER IT IS! It tried to steal my robes and almost burned me!! IF IT WASN'T FOR THE HEADMASTER I WOULD BE FRIED CHICKEN BY NOW. I only wanted to study for college and help my parents yet, here am I getting Isekaied and befriending a flaming cat living in a cult-like school ;^;

Moving on to the second, it seemed...to be a different person from the first one. And basically had the same experience as them but had seemingly...passed away(!!!) at the time where they faced their first overblot...

"OML HI! I...I think I'm gonna die....!! I...seemed to be the second one to own this phone, dunno about the previous ones...they probably died too. BUT IF EVER THERE IS SOMEONE TO COME NEXT TO RECEIVE/FIND THIS PHONE BE CAREFUL OF THE INK-LIKE MONSTER IN THE DWARF'S CAVE. My two companions got crushed ME AND GRIM R THE ONLY ONES LEFT BUT NOT FOR LONG SO PLEASE TELL MY MOTHER THA-"

Their last message were...are they talking about Ace and Deuce! But...but they're alive?! They were just with them a few seconds ago! THAT CAN'T BE!

Ah, the wonderful time, spending the holidays with your friends, an always fun experience. Especially for Ori and Mallow. So of course, when they were invited to spend it at the Monstro Lounge by Jade, they accepted. Well, Ori accepted, and then convinced/dragged Mallow with them.

“Ori, do you have to take me with you?” Ori nodded vigorously.

“Of course Mallow! I already told everyone you'd be there. Don't worry, they won't expect you to talk too much” Ori chirped. Mallow sighed slightly, not much of a tone to it, and allowed Ori to drag them to Octavinelle.

Once they arrived, they were both surprised to see more than just the fish mafia, rather, they saw most of their friends. Ace and Deuce had already dragged grim along with them, from their babysitting him to give the two a break. Jack had tagged along as well, and silver was inexplicably there as well, albeit asleep at a booth. Jade smiled his signature smile, as he approached.

“Welcome our ramshackle friends. I'm glad you could both make it.” Ori smiled and nodded.

“Of course Jade! Wouldnt miss it. Thank you for inviting us!” Mallow nodded sharply in response.

“Of course, of course. Well, make yourselves at home, I have convinced Azul that everything will be free for today for your little group, so enjoy. “ Mallow nodded again, before sweeping away, to go sit next to the sleeping silver, going to be content with mostly people watching. Ori smiled brightly at Jade, before taking their leave to go join in the shenanigans the freshman squad was causing.

“Yo Ori! Nice of you to join us!” Ace smiled, playfully nudging their shoulder. Ori hummed and nodded.

“Of course, I couldn't leave all the impulsive decisions to you guys.” Ori smiled widely.

“Just in time, henchhuman! Floyd just brought out food from the kitchen!” Grim said smugly, before attempting to grab stuff off of the buffet plate with his paws. Deuce held him back.

“Grim, no, ask one of us to get it for you with silverware, you will not be putting your grubby paws in other people's food.” Grim grumbled, before pulling Deuce to do it for him. Jack chuckled good-naturedly.

“Nice to see you, Ori. I saw you managed to pull along Mallow?”

“That I did Jacky, though I'm sure they are going to be just content sitting watching us from next to Silver, so it is fine. Hopefully” Ace chuckled loudly.

“Yeah, Mallow will enjoy themselves. “ he said, as Ori waved to Mallow, who waved back, slightly, eyes training across them all. Jack smiled cheerfully.

“Well, it's good you were able to pull them out of the house, getting out is a good thing. “

“That it is Jacky, that it is.” Ori smiled, before starting to get their food, as Grim and Deuce came back, Grim sitting on Deuce's shoulders eating, the plate balancing on top of his head, as the tanuki ate with his paws. Ori laughed softly, before letting their gaze turn across the lounge, which they hadn't been to since the holidays had started.

It appeared Azul had decided to take after the traditional Christmas decorations. Garlands and lights hanging on the ceilings, big evergreens in the corners, that seemed almost haphazardly decorated, though that could have just been because of the popcorn and cranberry garlands, which seemed to have been eaten on, presumedly by Floyd. The doors all had evergreen wreaths on them, and poinsettia flowers sat at the base of them.

“It seems Azul got the lounge in full festive feeling.” Ace nodded.

“That it does. Very Christmassy in here, isn't it Jacky?” He said teasingly to Jack, who grunted.

“Only Ori can call me that, Ace” which in turn caused Deuce to laugh.

“Yeah Ace.”

“You don't get to say anything, Mr goody two shoes, your head is being used as a table.” causing Deuce to pout. Ori shook their head, smiling at the freshman's antics. Grim smiled proudly.

“Henchhuman, you have to try this food, it's to die for!” deuce shook his head gently, not to fling the food.

“It might actually be to die for, Floyd made it” Grim's smile dropped before Floyd came bounding out of the kitchen, hugging the cat-like freshman.

“Catfishhyyyy, how nice of you to join us! And Mackerelll, how could you accuse me of poisoning this food? I wouldn't want catfish to die, would I?” Ori chuckled and rolled their eyes.

“Nice to see you too Floyd, thank you for making food for us!” Ori smiled widely. Floyd cheered and squeezed tighter. Jack's eyes soften,

“Floyd, you may want to loosen up that grip, you wouldn't want to hurt Ori.” Floyd pouted but did so, letting Ori release a breath of relief to breathe again.

Across the room, Mallow was very intently and carefully watching all the interactions, smiling softly to themselves. They hummed quietly, as their eyes danced over the decorations as well.

Some of the more decorations that Ori had missed were just how sparkly the tree toppers were, and that there were little enchanted snowmen as centerpieces on the tables, that skated around a small metal circle on the table, had small snowball fights with each other, and made different expressions. There were some snow globes hanging from the garland as well, making the droop more, but it was very pretty to watch.

As Mallow watched Ori and the others mess around, Silver stirred slightly from his sleep, sitting up quite groggily, making Mallow glance at him.

“Good afternoon Silver. Was your nap enjoyable?” Mallow said, not much feeling in their voice, but the sentiment was there. Silver nodded as he blinked some of the sleep out of his eyes.

“Afternoon Mallow, yes, my nap was quite enjoyable except I do not remember falling asleep,” he mumbled sleepily. Mallow nodded, moving their eyes back to the loud group.

“It's good at least that you fell asleep here instead of anywhere else. Outside is quite cold right now. “ Silver nodded in response, running his palms over his eyes, and blinking some more.

“Yeah, there is that, but I was here early in a wish to be here and awake for when Ori inevitably dragged you here. But here I was sleeping on you. I must apologize. “

“It's fine, Silver, I know you can not help it. Why do we not go get food? It should assist in waking you up.” Mallow said, standing up and looking at Silver, who nodded.

“That should work, Thank you, Mallow. “ Mallow nodded swiftly, as he stood.

“Not a problem Silver,” they said as they both walked towards the louder group.

“Ah Silver, your up!” Ori said loudly when they got closer, Silver nodded to the cat.

“Good to see you Ori, Glad you could make it. “ Ori smiled,

“Well someone had to make sure Mallow got out. “ Mallow shook their head.

“I could have gone out on my own Ori. “

“I know~” Ori hummed and smiled, winking. Mallow rolled their eyes before pulling Silver to get food, as jade joined his brother and made small chat with the freshmen. Mallow and Silver joined in on the conversation with food. Well, Silver did mostly, but Mallow added some comments here and there. The group hung out until later in the night when the freshmen had to pack up and head home, Ori took Grim and placed him on their shoulders, as they and Mallow trekked back to Ramshackle, full and content.

Doing Anything for Heat

“Do you always refer to yourself in third person when writing these up?” 

“Legalities, Prefect, although I do not expect you to know anything about that.” 

Guess who can’t write as much anymore because she got a nasty bite at work! So yes, I was working on requests so diligently and then bam--this happens. 

As an apology for my late ass writings, please take this mini scenario for the Octavinelle Trio! Azul’s SSR card got translated and I just...god I love these boys so much q wq  Reader: [G/N]  Warnings: Casual flirting, possessive thoughts from all the boys and just MC striking up a contract with Azul and taking a very creative approach towards it~ 

“[Y/N]!!!!” Grimm pulls at your arm as you sit down across from Azul, the man holding out a contract to you as he tilts his head with a smile. “What will it be, Prefect?” 

Your hands sweat as you rub them on your legs. “Hehe~ Little Shrimp looks so scared~” 

The contract is placed in front of you slowly, Azul taking care of minding his manners as you lean back and go over the simple specifications. Made simpler, of course, since Azul had ‘such’ a kind heart. 

What a con artist. 

Winter was hitting Night Raven College hard but was hitting Ramshackle even harder. 

How many blankets had you bought from Sam’s shop? Ten? Twenty? You honestly didn’t know but you and Grimm were close to freezing some night and you had just about enough of living in an ice cube for a dorm. 

You were acting out of desperation. 

And, ever the businessman, Azul had stretched out his hand for your unfortunate soul. 

“Bring sixty customers during our lunch rush tomorrow and Azul Ashengrotto will personally see that a heater is installed in Ramshackle the same day.” 

You put the contract down and look him in the eye. “Do you always refer to yourself in third person when writing these up?” 

“Legalities, Prefect, although I do not expect you to know anything about that.” 

Great, more insults towards your intelligence. 

Sixty customers. If you were to break that down it would be ten from each dorm not counting Octavinelle. You could rope Ace and Deuce to come, guilt trip Jack for not helping you with that assignment due last night, kindly ask Epel to make his way over here and maybe if you promised Sebek that you would listen to him rant about his dorm leader he would reluctantly agree. 

But that wouldn’t be near enough. 

Azul clicks his tongue while Jade speaks up, “We will have to take that answer today, [Y/N]-san. If not, I guess maybe we could let you take some blankets from Octavinelle--” 

“Fine! Fine.” you sign your name on the dotted line and hand the contract back to Azul, the other grinning as he handed it towards his right-hand man. “How wonderful! I’ll be waiting with baited breath to see what you bring us tomorrow~” 

You give Azul the fakest smile you can muster, waving goodbye to the twins as you make your way out of the lounge with Grimm by your side. “Fgnaaa~! We are screwed! [Y/N] how could you! We are going to be stuck waiting tables for ETERNITY now!” 

“Not if we bring them what they asked for.” you bite your bottom lip as you look at the Monstro Lounge, your eyes falling on the small stage. 

Oh right. Some students played here. Well, students deemed worthy enough to play. You remember the Music Club trying to do a gig here but failing miserably the moment Lilia opened his mouth. Despite the failure, it did bring some people in to get Azul over the red. 

A floorshow. 

That’s right! A floorshow! 

“Grimm!” you grab the cat and bring him close as he freaks out. 

“What--what!” 

“I got it!” you hold him out in front of you, “We are going to have to let go of our pride a bit and this experience might humble us but...we will have heat!’ 

“[Y/N] you are scaring me--” 

Grimm barely gets to say what he wants as he is dragged back into your arms, your feet running as fast as you can into Mr.S’s shop for the stuff that you will need.

“Ah! Little Shrimp!” 

Jade looks up from the numbers he was crunching, smiling as he sees you approaching the table. You wave at Floyd and nod politely towards Jade, sitting down and tapping your fingers against the bar. 

“You are here rather late, [Y/N]-san. We have two hours until closing time.” 

“I’m just…putting my plan into action. Azul said he wanted sixty by tomorrow, after all.” Floyd grins as he finishes cleaning up the remaining glasses. 

“Eh? You are doing something tonight, little Shrimp?” 

“...yes.” 

He leans close, smiling wider as he sees a certain change in your appearance. The Monstro Lounge was always dark in order to provide a more atmospheric mood at night but with the little light he had to work with he could clearly see traces of makeup all over your face. “Little Shrimp looks so shiny...just like a pearl.” You pull away as he tries to get closer, putting your hand out to stop him and turn your attention towards Jade. “Right. Do you have a backroom next to the stage? I just need to get some things ready--” 

“Go into the kitchen, farthest door to the back. There should be a door that leads you towards the back of the stage.” “Do you guys have a light booth--” “Next to the stage.” Jade’s eyes shine, interested in what you are about to pull off, “Do you need our help--” 

“Nope that is alright I can take care of this myself thank you.” 

Both twins watch you trot towards the kitchen, Grimm following close behind and about three ghosts ‘matching’ his step. 

“...Floyd.” 

“Yes?” 

“Call Azul. I think he’ll be interested to see what is going on.”

“For heat. For heat. For heat!” 

You were doing this because of your situation. The situation was desperate so you had to take desperate measures. 

Grimm clears his throat as you finish fixing his bowtie, the transparent fabric looking beautiful with the stitched shells all over it. 

“Are the ghosts ready?” you ask. 

“Just waiting for the curtains to close.” 

The crowd goes quiet as you press a few buttons and close them, hushing the late night crowd as you step onto the stage. You try to step softly so that the click of your heels won’t be heard while Grimm opens up the rather large shell in the middle of the stage. This was usually used as a promotional device, customers taking pictures inside it to promote their visits to the lounge. It had a soft cushiony seat inside and could fit a whole student. 

You give a thumbs up to your other roommates, the ghosts smiling as their instruments manifested in front of them. 

Spectral instruments really came in handy in these situations. “Breathe...Breathe…” you sit down inside the shell and pull your legs up with you, fixing the train of your dress and touching the small shell tiara on your head. It was fashioned after King Triton after all, maybe Azul would get the reference?

Or rather, you hoped Azul wasn’t watching at all. “Okay...close it, Grimm.” He nods and brings the top of the shell down slowly, trapping you both inside as he gave the cue to start up the lights. This was all for a heater...and maybe some tuna. 

-----

-At first he wanted to laugh as he saw the curtain slowly being drawn back, when was the last time they used this stage? Student players just weren’t ‘in’ as much anymore and he had to keep up with the trends. What were you planning to do with this? 

-Yet his mouth clicked shut as the lights landed right on the shell, the music starting as your voice rang out softly from inside. 

-He barely paid attention to the band as the shell slowly opened, Grimm flying out elegantly as he opened it while your frame was slowly being revealed to him as every student’s jaw almost hit the floor. 

-Azul clutched his cane as he watched you cradle your legs close to yourself, the lyrics completely blowing past him as you stretch yourself out to show off the outfit you had on. It seemed to shine like a pearl under the lights, your chest being accentuated by how snug it fit against your frame. 

-He licked his lips when his eyes landed on your undecorated neck. It was as if you were begging for it to be decorated with bites. Surely he could make a nice necklace for you. 

-Dammit he should have sat closer, students were actually getting up from their booths and moving to any tables that were closer to the stage as you start getting up, the train of fabric in your outfit resembling the top of a shell as it brushes across the ground as you make your way to the floor. 

-He bites his bottom lip as he sees you making your way around the tables, your voice soft and melodic as the students watch the performance flabbergasted. You are letting your fingers glide against the tables, winking at some of the more bold students who put out their hands so they could touch yours.

-If you were to look at his face you would see no trace of emotion but inside his head he was screaming at you to pass by his table already don’t you know anything about customer service? 

-You finally make eye contact with the table he was sitting at, Azul feeling a shiver go up his spine at how your flirtatious eyes suddenly turned nervous. Nobody else had gotten that look.

-Again, he needed to see you looking at him like that again. 

 -So this is what you were planning. How interesting~ 

-He watched from behind Azul, taking off his coat and laying it on the back of the plush booth as he took in your form. Where had you gotten such a cute outfit, he wondered. The color made you shine like the rarest pearl and every time the light hit you just right he could see the glitter in your eyelids as you started to approach their table. 

-You made eye contact with him, clearly trying to keep up the act of ‘mysterious’ floor show guest but failing as his eyes took you in the closer you got. 

-The students groan when they see you sit right next to Azul, pressing close to him as he dares to put an arm around your waist and squeeze. Oh he could bet Azul was happy with how jealous all the students looked. 

-Jade couldn’t help the chuckle that escaped him when you took Azul’s hat and shoved it in his face before pulling away as quickly as possible. 

-He follows your movements as you walk behind him, the sudden hand on his back making him hum in thought as the idea of pinning you right to the back of the booth so you would sing only to him suddenly seeming like the only thing to do in this situation. 

-You really had no idea what you could awaken in him if you kept playing around. 

-His eyes meet yours as you start walking away but his hand catches your wrist as he tugs you back to him--!

-But Jade, ever the unpredictable man, only presses his lips to your hand before letting you go.

-You were doing a floor show for the customers after all. Didn’t mean that he wouldn’t be talking to you later~ 

-Floyd had moved himself to the table closest to the stage, tie undone and smile wider than anyone had ever seen as he watched you pay attention to almost every table. The table he was sitting at had been filled with students who deemed themselves rather lucky to get so close only for them to scram when they saw who was approaching it.  

-He waves at you when you finally make eye contact with him, licking his lips and smiling as he sees your reluctance to get near him. 

-Which he didn’t mind, the fact that you were so wary of him made you all the more adorable. 

-You try your best to be as flirty as you had before, merely touching his hand as he holds it out to you but for Floyd that is not enough. The moment your fingers pressed against his palm, he snatched your wrist and brought you to his lap, students gasping as his hands landed on your sides. 

-Oh the material was so soft! He ran his fingers up and down as you press hand to his chest while you sang the last few notes of the song. 

-Floyd couldn’t help the little giggle as he saw the embarrassment on your face, your hand clearly pushing on his chest but his hands clearly weren’t letting you go. What were you going to do, little Shrimp? 

-His eyes widen at your sudden improvisation, your hands taking his and pressing them to your face so he could cup your cheeks. Instinctively he pulled you closer as the song suddenly stopped---

”Floyd-senpai, I have to go.” 

-The whisper is only for him to hear as you catch him off guard with that soft look and pull away, you holding out the last note of the song as if you had planned to be caught by him all along. 

-He clicks his tongue and leans back, eyes watching you go back up the stage and sitting inside the shell as you pull your legs closer to you before blowing a kiss to the now applauding crowd as Grimm closed the shell. 

-Surely the kiss had been for him, right? If it had been for any of these other bottom feeders...well no matter. Even if it hadn’t been for him, Floyd would make sure to squeeze you real tight the moment you got off stage. 

-----

You lay down on the cushion as you put your arms over your eyes, groaning as you tried to get your thoughts together. 

If this worked out the way you thought it would, word of mouth would get around and you would bring around sixty customers so that they could partake in what they had missed tonight. 

Has it cost you your dignity? Yes. 

Was the outfit embarrassing? Yes. 

Did you have to flirt with all three Octavinelle members so they would see that you were serious about finally going to sleep without shivering? Yes and yes. 

At least it was over. 

“Yo Grimm. Can you open this? I want to change!” 

Your hands tap the top of the shell, sighing in relief as it slowly opened. 

Only for you to yelp as hands pin you down to the cushion, a very familiar face grinning down at you as Floyd laughs merrily. 

“Ahaha~! Nee, that kiss was for me, right Little Shrimpy? You blew that my way, right?” 

Jade sighs and steps behind his brother, pulling him up by the collar so that you could get your bearings. 

“It was at the customers, Floyd. I believe [Y/N]-san wanted this to be spoken about tomorrow, correct?” 

You nod as he lets go of Floyd and holds out his hand for you to take. 

“What an interesting plan...right Azul?” 

The Octavinelle dorm leader isn’t really looking at you, he is still staring at everything that you had on taking it as much as he could before your voice brought him back. “So...how did I do?” 

Azul blinks before smiling as he steps close and holds out his arm for you to take. 

“I have yet to see the terms of the contract be met but...we can discuss how you did in my office. Mind telling me how you came up with this plan? ” 

“Y--Yeah! Sure!” 

You take Azul’s arm and speak about your thought process, not noticing the grins on the eel’s faces as they hold themselves back until they reach Azul’s office. 

How nice, it would be the first time you would be staying over at Octavinelle, even if you didn’t know it yet.
