a/n: didn't really plan on making a pt2 this soon but the Oscar one came to me in a vision and i just had to (also yes George's one is basically the scene from notting hill and Lando's isn't technically a meet cute but shh) ... but hope u enjoy!!

ᝰ.ᐟ Oscar Piastri - forced proximity
Planning to catch a train home during peak hour on a Wednesday evening had not been one of your best ideas. And this thought only echoed as you rushed down the station steps, shoving past many blazer and winter coat clad bodies to make it to your train on time. Luckily, and partially thanks to the boost your adrenaline had given you, you managed to squeeze through the doors just as they were closing. The relieved sigh you were on the verge of letting out was interrupted though, replaced by a much more imminent feeling of claustrophobia as you notice how packed the train really is.
As if this isn’t enough, the train makes a sudden stop, flinging your unsteady figure onto the body of the person beside you. Embarrassed by the sudden closeness, but also too busy trying to recompose yourself and your bag, you gaze upwards to be met with the composed, but not emotionless, eyes of a beautiful stranger. They’re so brown and inviting, even set within his seemingly cool expression that you can’t help but feel entranced by them. You’re brought out of this trance though, as you notice him mouthing to you - “Are you okay?” - to which you can only nod in a jerky, flustered way. A string of hushed apologies spills out of your mouth until you notice his hand hovering closely around your waist, which you tell yourself he’s just doing to keep you upright, but this does little to calm your nerves.
You feel yourself sweating bullets as an endless amount of lumps form in your throat, making it hard to speak and alleviate what is already one of the most awkward situations you’ve been in in a while. But, you’re still so deeply lost in this stranger’s eyes and the way he keeps glancing over at you to make sure you’re alright and even silently leaning himself so as to offer his own body as support that you can’t stop yourself from blurting out a “What’s your name?”. To this, he responds with “Oscar”, his tone so warming in the midst of the cold train carriage that you find yourself stuttering out more words as excuses to keep the conversation, and his attention, going. Peak-hour train rides were never a good idea, but maybe this one wasn’t so bad.
ᝰ.ᐟ Lando Norris - roommates
All you wished for in your first year of university was to have a normal roommate and to get on with your studies. But when you arrived to your ‘move-in’ day to be greeted with empty boxes as far as your eye could physically see and no room mate waiting to greet you, you knew your wishes would not be fulfilled.
And this only grew more apparent over the beginning months you spent in your dorm. The boxes cleared up over the first couple of days, but only to be replaced with their contents - clothes, shoes, beaten-up golf balls - strewn across floors. Your roommate’s name became less of an identifier and more of an accomplice to your never-ending complaints about him, to the point where your friends were well acquainted with the man despite never having met him.
“Lando left ten half-full glasses of milk on the countertop for me when I woke up for morning class this morning.”
“I’m so sick of Lando making so much noise when he comes home after parties, he wakes me up every time.”
"Would it kill Lando to take his dirty clothes to the laundry and actually wash them instead of waiting until they amass at the foot of his bed?"
But all you could do was handle it in silence as best you could - picking up his mess, cleaning his milk glasses and making sure he was in bed after a late night out. Yet through it all, you found yourself strangely endeared by the roommate you so often complained about, after a while of living around each other and becoming attuned to one another’s routines and habits. Because for every stray sock left hanging over a couch, there was a warm bagel from the cafe he visited after his morning runs waiting for you on the counter. For every night he woke you up with his drunken stumbling there would be another when you kept him up with trivial discussions like which Spice Girl each of your professors would be. For every “It’s only been a month but I swear to god Lando is driving me nuts,” there was a "It’s only been a month, but I’m really starting to like Lando.”
ᝰ.ᐟ George Russell - a coffee accident
You’re late. Terribly, awfully, insanely late to a meeting you had had written in your schedule for over two weeks now. But somehow, through a series of poorly-timed coincidences including a family of ducks crossing the road your bus was going through and a hold up at the coffee shop because of a misplaced latte, you find yourself walking as fast as you can towards your office. You’re so caught up in getting to where you need to go in the least amount of time that you’re almost not thinking about any of the people you’re careening past, or the fact that you left the coffee shop in such a rush that you forgot to get a lid for your cup.
That is, until you smash headfirst into the chest of someone as you turn the final corner to your office and you feel your precious caffeine surge up into the air before splashing down onto the white, ironed and seemingly very expensive shirt of some poor stranger. A complimentary “Shit!” comes spilling out of your mouth alongside it, your empty cup falling defeated to the ground beside you. Looking up you lock onto the stranger’s deep blue eyes, which look less mad and more confused at the situation at hand. Still, even with a splatter of dark brown on his shirt, you’re taken aback by how oddly handsome he is, although this seems to add another layer to your insanely bad luck this morning. You’re about to start listing off as many sincere ways to say ‘sorry’ as you can muster until a glance at your watch reminds you of the meeting you’re supposed to be almost halfway through by now.
So instead, you pull out one of the coffee shop napkins you had shoved into your pocket as well as a pen. Hastily, you scratch your phone number alongside an ‘IOU’, pocketing both and slamming the napkin onto the now damp and stained shirt of the stranger who only looks at you with a, now partially amused, expression. “Just give me a call-” you say, trying to think of a respectful way to address him before he comes to the rescue. “George,” he replies, still oddly calm. “George,” you say, as if to yourself, before patting him on the shoulder and restarting your sprint towards your office. Soon, you finally found yourself at the front doors of your office, but strangely enough just before opening them you thought about how exactly you would repay the handsome stranger - since offering to buy him a coffee now seemed ironic and a bit inconsiderate, maybe he would prefer tea.

hi i got a request lol this is like my first time asking so i’m embarrassed☠️ but i was wondering if you could write something with a Spider-Man!anti-hero!reader and he’s in some fight with Red Hood, but they’re fighting near another fight where poison ivy’s fighting off some cops cuz she’s trynna escape from arkham and some of her aphrodisiacs/pheromone power from the plants get too close to where reader and red r fighting so they get intoxicated with it and yknow..also leading to some hate fucking. also with the added spinnerrette kink(that was RLLY embarrassing to write i’m so sorry if that sounds like a lot😭) but tysm !!

When (C/N) came onto Gotham scene, Jason was the first one to go after him. There was something about (C/D) that Jason hated and Bruce always tried to make sure that any type of confrontation between is made to be bare minimum. Also, Jason didn't like the fact that he was a Spiderman and not as funny as the OG one.
One particular night changed everything between Red Hood and (C/N). Gotham was in complete chaos because the big names in Gotham decided to make chaos and make their lives living hell. That night it was each man for himself.
Jason was tasked to stop Poison Ivy from breaking out of the prison, but he was distracted by seeing (C/N). All of a sudden, he saw red and started running towards (C/N). He took his gun out and started shooting at (C/N).
Of course, (C/N) or (Y/N) if you will, sensed it coming. He dodged every single bullet and Jason was just ready to kill him. He jumped at (Y/N), using everything in him to land a punch. Both of them were fighting, not noticing the Poison Ivy fighting the cops. When a building started shaking, Jason and (Y/N) were thrown off of the building.
They landed onto the prison roof top, where Poison Ivy was. She looked at the two heroes, before smirking. Jason wondered what the hell she was thinking, before he realized. She was going to release something now.
" Ivy, don't do it. Whatever you are thinking, don't do it. Don't make me hate you. " Jason said, going for his gun.
" Sorry Hood, but I can't. I need to escape. " She said and all of a sudden, air was filled with some sort of green gas and Jason choked on it.
He felt hot and his blood went south, all the way down to his dick. What in God's name is happening to him? And what in God's name is this gas doing to him? Oh God, this is sex pollen.
Jason coughed, before taking his helmet off. He took deep breaths to calm himself. Poison Ivy was gone with the wind and it was just (Y/N) and Jason. (Y/N) wasn't doing much better either. He was blushing beneath his mask and he felt that all the blood went south.
Both of them locked eyes with one another and despite not seeing each other's eyes, both could tell that their pupils were blown.
" Okay, " Jason started. He knew it was a bad idea, but if you were hit with sex pollen, masturbation won't do it. " I know a place a couple of blocks nearby, enough privacy for us to get this out. " Jason said, hands shaking from the surge of energy and self control.
" Lead the way. "
Jason never ran so fast in his life. The place in question was an old safe house that was scratched because it was made by Penguin, but God, it was closest place with some sort of privacy. And that's why Jason had (Y/N) hoisted up on the wall, holding his thighs and kissing him like a wild animal.
Jason felt (Y/N) pulling his hair and he moaned. Is he into pain? Well, that will be another plan soon. He took (Y/N) and threw him onto a single mattress in the room.
He took his jacket off quickly and (Y/N) took his own shirt off. " Are you sure? " Jason asked, huffing, legs twitching. My God. He looked at (Y/N)'s body. The defined abs, soft skin... Oh no, what is this pollen making him think?
" I do, now get to it. " (Y/N) said, clearly wanting to get to it. Jason shed his clothes and weapons before leaning down to kiss (Y/N) more animalistically, fueled by the pollen. He reached for (Y/N)'s wrists, wanting to put them above his head. (Y/N) shuddered and let out a breathier moan. Jason raised his eyebrows, before massaging his wrists.
(Y/N) moaned louder, his hips raising and his member brushing against Jason's boxer's. " What's up with your wrists? " Jason asked, looking at them. He saw small holes on (Y/N)'s wrists.
" It's a place where my web comes out and it's... Well, if you mess with it and massage it, it turns into a huge arousal spot. " (Y/N) breathed out, looking away from Jason. Jason smirked, seeing a way how to mess with (Y/N) a bit.
He massaged the wrists more, making (Y/N) louder moans. He squirmed beneath Jason, trying to get more friction. " Interesting... Good to know. "
Jason released (Y/N)'s wrists and moved his hands down (Y/N)'s hips. He hooked his fingers beneath (Y/N)'s boxers and removed them. (Y/N) was rock hard, with some precum dribbling down. Jason took his member into his hand and started stroking him.
(Y/N) choked on air as Jason started stroking him. When Jason stopped, (Y/N) whined, actually whined. That sound made Jason way more harder.

" Oh shit- " (Y/N) said, biting his lip. Jason let out a breath, trying to adjust. After a few moments, Jason started moving. He had to lean down to lean on his elbows. His thrusts got faster and more erratic. (Y/N) was shaking beneath Jason, whimpering in pleasure.
They both came quickly, but it wasn't enough. Jason pulled out, making (Y/N) whine.
" On your hands and knees. " Jason said, pupils widening even more at the sight of (Y/N) on his hands and knees. He pushed back in, grabbing (Y/N) hips to get some leverage. Both Jason and (Y/N) are hitting overstimulation, but they couldn't get enough.
After 3 more rounds, they collapsed next to each other. Jason's body was aching and (Y/N) was on the verge of sleep. Jason stood up, putting his boxers on, moving to get a rag. Using one of the leftover water bottles, he wet the rag. He moved back to wipe sweat from (Y/N).
" I thought you hated me. " (Y/N) said tiredly, trying to get up.
" I do, but aftercare is important. " Jason said curtly, wiping down (Y/N)'s body. He handed him a water bottler too, allowing him to rehydrate.
" Also, this doesn't change anything between us. I still hate you. " Jason explained, taking the water and wiping it before drinking himself.
" I know that. " (Y/N) said, stretching his arms. " Is it alright if I stay here for the night? I don't have strength to swing back. " (Y/N) said, moving to get his boxers. Thankfully he didn't had to move far.
" Good. I don't think that Batman will want to find you here. " Jason said, already dressed and ready to go.
" Well, I don't want to find him either. I can only hope that you won't tip him off. "
" Well, I may hate you, but I don't hate you that much. " Jason said, putting his helmet on. " And if I hear anything about our... Encounter anywhere, I'm going to kill you. " Jason said.
" I know you will. " (Y/N) said, turning on his side.
Jason left without a single glance towards (Y/N). He stepped out. It was still dark out and it was something that Jason was thankful for. Although, he was thankful when he heard his comms firing up.
" Jason where were you? We were trying to reach you, but they were offline. " He heard Bruce say in his ear.
" Don't worry about me old man. Poison Ivy just knocked me out. "
" I could see something is wrong when I had to go get her. She just told me you were going to be unavailable. " Bruce said.
Jason swallowed, feeling nervous. He could only hope that Poison Ivy didn't tell Bruce what gas she gave him. " Either way Jason, get back to the manor, all the criminals are in the GCPD, waiting transfer to Blackgate. "
" I will be back soon. " Jason said, cutting the communication. Bruce and the rest of the family can't know what happened between him and (Y/N).
They can't.

A/N: You mean I was supposed to watch ep 7 and Rosie run towards a recently landed B-17 all heroically and not write something where he helps with the wounded? *laughs maniacally*
four (loss & grief)
Heads tilted upwards, every stood-down pilot, crew member, and civilian on base counts the number of planes coming in.
It's always fewer than they expect.
The 100th is taking so many losses at this point in the war, Rosie is not surprised when two planes barely make the runway. Red-red flares, wounded aboard. Landing gear screeching, holes in wings smoking, and he's moving before he can even think about what he's doing.
The hatch is open and a slew of bullet casings come tumbling out, a crew member not far behind, dazed. Rosie reaches for him out of instinct, gripping his elbow to keep him upright.
"You're all right, son." He says, but the Captain either doesn't hear him, or hasn't processed it. Rosie lets go.
His attention is drawn, as it tends to be, to the arrival of Lieutenant Grace Fleming. Her face is pale, but set in grim determination.
She meets his eyes for a split second. If she’s surprised to see him there, she doesn’t show it, instead she focuses on the man in front of her, fallen to his knees. His breath comes in fits and spurts.
“Captain—“ She barks, eyes flicking up to Rosie’s once more. “A hand.”
It’s not a request. If he’s here, he has to make himself useful. Another nurse on her left, they’re lowering the man to the ground.
“Need him on a litter right away.”
“Count of three.” Rosie confirms, another member of the medical corps arriving at their side with a stretcher.
“Nurse—“ the man stutters, blood seeping from between his chattering teeth. “Miss Grace, please.”
Grace freezes for only a moment, but it’s enough for Rosie to see. Her jaw clenches. “I’m here, you’re alright. Try to slow your breathing for me, okay?” Her hands are gentle as she clasps his. She presses their interlocked hands to the man’s chest, leaning over him. “You’ve got a bad leg wound and some shrapnel elsewhere, we’re going to get you inside and take care of you.”
“Please,” he begs again. “Grace, I don’t want to die.”
Rosie is relieved when Grace looks at him, nodding once. “Count of three.” She says.
One, two, three, and they’re lifting. Into the ambulance the young Lieutenant goes, and Grace is right behind. Rosie helps her in, hands gripping around her waist and hoisting her inside before he can second guess touching her like that.
“Later.” She says to him quietly before shutting the door.
It didn’t need to be said - their sunset meetings on the hard stand have been a staple for the both of them since he came back from the flak house.
He turns back to the chaotic scene behind him, wanting to help. Scenes like this are becoming more and more common. It makes alarm bells ring in his head. Somehow, though, it makes him more sure about his next move.

He waits around on the hard stand for a half hour before a feeling in his gut has him turning back towards the barracks.
He goes to the women's hut first. Shaking his head at his sudden nervousness, he raps his knuckles on the door. Entering uninvited seems wrong, and when the door is opened in front of him, he hastily whips off his hat and clutches it between his fingers.
"Captain!" The woman says, and Rosie is embarrassed to admit to himself that he doesn't know her name.
"I'm looking for--"
"Grace?" Word has gotten around, then. "She hasn't been here. Still at the hospital as far as I know. She missed dinner."
Rosie frowns. That's not like her.
Following his gut, he thanks the woman at the door and turns on his heels, heading in the opposite direction. Not for the first time, he wishes he had a jeep or a bike at his disposal - he knows he could find someone to give him a lift, but he doesn't want to draw any more attention to his meeting with Grace than he apparently already has.
The hospital is eerily silent. He forces himself inside - he still hates the smell and the way everything is so blindingly white.
A few men he recognizes from the landing earlier are in bed, most asleep. Their wounds range from what appear to be minor to a man who is bandaged nearly from head to toe.
There is still blood on the floor.
He steps carefully past the last bed. Still no sign of Grace.
Water runs in a small room to his left, and he makes his footfalls a little heavier in hopes that he doesn't startle her if she is indeed still here, preparing to leave for the day.
He peers around the corner to see her, hands deep in the washing basin. She is scrubbing at her hands so hard, she sounds out of breath. A sick, sinking feeling hits him in the gut.
"Grace." He says her name softly. It comes out hoarse. He takes a few steps closer when she doesn't react. "Grace?"
She's still scrubbing at her hands. When he gets close enough, he can see the color of her skin - bright pink, the water so hot steam is rising from the tap. The soap running from her fingers is clean, not a tinge of any color that shouldn't be there running down the drain.
Her hands are shaking.
Without saying anything else, he reaches for the tap and shuts it off. She doesn't stop rubbing at her hands, her knuckles, her fingernails.
"Grace." His voice is firmer this time. His hands settle over hers. He almost pulls away because of how hot her touch is, but the shaking only gets worse in her long fingers, and he grips her tighter out of instinct.
"He didn't make it." She says, voice like he's never heard it before. Flat. Emotionless. "The Lieutenant from--" She stops, and it's not really a cry, but more of a strangled noise that leaves her throat. "His plane was called Borrowed Time."
Rosie's throat is tight as he watches her. He gently guides her away from the sink, hands still tight around hers. "Come on, sit down for a second."
"I can't-- I have to get the blood off."
"Gracie, you're clean, okay?"
"He-- he begged me." She looks at him then. There are tears in her eyes, but he knows her well enough to know she won't let them fall. "He didn't call for his mother, or for God. He begged me."
Rosie throws all caution to the wind. He pulls her sideways so she's half in his lap. His arms go around her, tugging her close, her head finding purchase on his shoulder. Her breathing is strangled, and he knows she's trying not to break.
"You did everything you could." He assures her. "I know you did everything you could."
"You don't know that. Not for sure."
He's shaking his head before she can even finish her sentence. "Yes, I do. There's no one better than you, Grace."
She's quiet for a long time before she pulls away from him. His arms open automatically, and he clears his throat as a sudden awkwardness lands between them like an anvil. "I need to get out of here." She whispers.
"Come on." He says, holding his hand out to her. It feels like an eternity waiting to see if she'll take it.
She does.

Lemmons appears at some point to hand over a hastily wrapped parcel of sandwiches and sodas. Rosie looks up at him gratefully, even more grateful when Ken doesn't say anything - he's gotten used to seeing Rosie and Grace out here together.
Grace's face is a mask of stoicism, but Rosie knows better by now. He can see the crease in between her eyebrows that only shows up when she's tired or worried.
He can see the way her shoulders slump downward, her posture normally ramrod straight from years of being shouted at by her parents.
When they're alone again, he watches her carefully for signs that she's knitting herself back together. He doesn't know if his more-than-forward touch in the hospital was wanted, so he doesn't try again, though his fingers itch with the urge to take her hand or pull her close so he can feel her warmth.
"Your twenty-fifth is coming soon." She says suddenly.
He frowns at her. "Why are you thinking about that?"
"You have to go home, Rosie." Her voice trembles.
He takes a step backward. "What? I--"
"Captain Rosenthal, so help me, if you go up there again, you're going to end up in a hospital bed, and if you make me have to tend to you like that, I'll never speak to you again."
His hands go to his hips as he weighs his words. He doesn't want to upset her, he doesn't want to pretend that everything is going to be fine -- hell, he might not make it back at all, let alone without a scratch.
"I can't promise you that."
She stares at him. "You're going to re-up after twenty five." It's not a question.
"The thought has crossed my mind."
She wraps her arms around herself, and he sees it for what it is, shielding herself for what she sees as an unavoidable blow coming her way.
He takes a few steps closer to her, unable to stand the distance any longer. "I'm going to come back." His voice is firm, full of the conviction he feels because he trusts himself, he trusts his men, and because he has something to come back for. He's tired of pretending that's not the case. "I'm going to come back, and I swear I won't have more than minor mending for you to do, all right?"
She looks up at him, the slight widening of her eyes the only indication that he's standing closer than she thought he was. But she doesn't back away.
Her arms fall from around her waist, and reach for him instead. He lets out a breath he hadn't realized he was holding.
Her touch moves from grasping his hand up to his elbow, and then she's tugging him closer, folding him into an embrace. This time it's him who finds a spot for his forehead on her shoulder, inhaling as he feels her grip him tight.
"Thank you." She whispers. Whether it's for the promise of coming back or for pulling her back from the brink today, he wants to tell her that she doesn't need to thank him, that he would be the one to pull her back a hundred times over if it meant he'd get to have these moments with her.
When they pull apart, arms still around each other, he watches the fading sunlight in her eyes and thinks he's never wanted to kiss someone so badly in his entire life.
How he restrains himself, he has no idea.
They walk back to the barracks hand in hand after he stares her down, laughing when she rolls her eyes at him demanding she eat some food in his presence before she goes to sleep.
At the door, he watches her shoulders straighten and hears her take a big, deep breath. He recognizes the motions because he does them too, every time before he hauls himself through the hatch again.
Once more unto the breach.
He's so proud of her. For fighting her way through the hardest day of the war for her so far, for getting up each day and finding a way to be a comforting touch, a healing hand, and a smiling face for these men. He wonders if she has any idea how many lives she's saved, and not just from medicine.
One day he'll have the courage to put into words what she means to him, too.
Today, though, he raises his hand in a farewell as he takes a few steps backward, and laughs under his breath as she blushes just a little.
Her smile plays on a loop over and over again as he falls asleep that night.

Happy Wednesday Fandom :) More of that pining/slow burn in this one. I saw a post that said ‘The greatest things take the longest time.’ That is Chenford in a nutshell. The buildup and reward are so good. This one is fantastic for so many reasons. Also we get rid of the dead weight that is Ashley in this one. The symbolism in this one is very poignant. So let’s get going.
5x05 The Fugitive

A foot chase starts our ship off in this one. Tim takes down one of the suspects with an impressive takedown. Sexy af until he injures himself. Lucy pulls up and is on it immediately for him. Tim is clearly in pain and Lucy is instantly worried. Asking if he’s ok? Tim being Tim brushes it off. Saying it was just the take down. He tweaked his back is all. Then grimaces some more. Activating worried wifey mode to the max. You no longer have a choice in this now Timothy. She has decided you are going to the hospital and that is that sir. This is not up for debate. At all. Weird place or not you are her person and she will make sure you are taken care of. That’s instinctual.

This next scene is the epitome of stubborn husband and exasperated wife. Tim comes gimping into the hospital. Lucy is hot on his trail worry pouring out of her. Nolan starts to update Tim on the fugitive loose in the hospital. Lucy cuts John off and says he’s not there as a supervisor. Damn girl you just take the lead for your man.
Idk what’s more telling to those around them. That Lucy is in wifey mode taking over for Tim. Or That Tim starts to fight her then gives in. Either way acting married af right now. Or as I saw in some tags we could call this scene ‘Where wives don’t believe their husbands.’ LOL From the minute he started hurting worried wife was activated.
She is not giving up till you are seen Tim. She is so exasperated with him when he says ‘Ok I’m not fine.’ Like yeah it’s what I’ve been telling you this entire time you stubborn ox of a man haha She's so gentle in helping him sit in that second gif though. Mad he won't listen but soft when he needs her. Mixture of extremely worried and infuriated with him.

Lucy is doing her search for the fugitive when she runs into Tim’s room. Awkward central. She wasn’t expecting Ashley. haha Tells them she's just looking for bad guys...Tim doesn’t let her leave yet asking how the search is going? Asking If Nolan is leaving a cop on every floor? Lucy’s incredulous look and sass reply are the best. ‘Yes we’ve been cops for more than ten seconds.’ Lucy stays long enough to be present for the doctor. He explains it's an old injury flaring up.
It's from when he was shot few years back. Ashley's reaction to a bullet makes me roll my eyes. He’s a cop those tend to be apart of the deal….The doctor telling him the injury from a few years ago is a problem now. There was a fragment that was too complicated to move at the time. So they left it there. Tim tries to relax Ashley and say he was ‘Just shot’ not a big deal. Trying to downplay it. Lucy bragging she saved his life on day one. It was a big deal heh I mean it really was... His hot shot in action saved his life.
Tim ignores her comment and let's the doctor finish. He says the fragment has traveled and is now closer to his spinal column. It’s pressing on a nerve now. So they need to do surgery to remove it. Tim says 'Ok…when?' Wifey jumps in not Ashley and asks ‘Hold on, what are the risks?’ The doctor must’ve thought Ashley was Tim’s sister and Lucy was the spouse at this point. He has to. The way Lucy is acting is that of a worried wife. Asking questions and not just sitting there as the doctor speaks.

The doctor answers Lucy’s question by saying ‘They’re talking about the spine so it’s risky..’ The silent communication above oh my word. He doesn’t look to Ashley for comfort when the doc says this. No no. He looks to his person for it. The way he flits his eyes over to her. The writing was on the wall for Ashley in this one in so many ways. Let’s not forget his GF is standing right next to him as he does this.
Literally right there as they have this mini silent convo with his soulmate. How this woman wasn’t consistently threatened by Lucy I’ll never understand. When his panic and worry start to pile up who does he look to? His girl. Such a short moment with so much meaning attached to it. They’ve been each other’s safe place and harbor for a long time.
So naturally he would look to Lucy not his GF in this moment. Ashley is so far past her expiration date at this point she's starting to smell. Gah their chemistry is out of the world good. This moment above a reflection of that. Also Lucy’s reaction to the doctor saying it’s risky. *heart clutch*

Tim opts to do the surgery even though it’s risky. It’s better than doing nothing. He says it could be laparoscopic and he’ll be home by dinner. Look at Lucy’s panic in that first gif. She was not done with grilling that doctor. Nor was she done talking to Tim about this. But sadly she's not his SO and can't have more input. If she was his wife that doctor would’ve spent little longer in that room. You can tell how antsy and worried she is.
Looking at Tim with that same amount of worry. Lucy touches her tattoo. Her go to when she’s super stressed and overwhelmed. Her heart is hurting she can’t be the one comforting him. Can't be the one grilling the doctor some more and having a say in this. It’s killing her. Since she can’t do anything more she opts to leave. Also Ashley comforting Tim is not something she wants to see anyway. It’s hurting her to watch tbh.

So Lucy gets awkward and says she’s gonna get back to the search. Being in the room isn't something she can stand at this point. So she takes off back where she came from. Where do Tim’s eyes go? Not to Ashley. To Lucy who just left the room. We all know he’s not with Ashley because he loves her.
It’s just comfortable and safe because he can’t be with Lucy. Breaks my damn heart. All his feelings were showing in this scene. 100% of them towards Lucy in this moment. Look at that man above. His heart just walked out of the room and it shows. He wanted her to stay but there wasn’t a reason for her to. You’re so in love with her Timothy. It's painfully obvious at this point.

Lucy comes to see Grey after he collapsed in front of her. He got food poisoning from breakfast place they went to. Ashley did him a solid by having him not eat bread I guess...Lucy is so cute when she comes in saying it’s like a sleepover LOL Never change Lucy Chen never change. This makes me laugh so very much. First I wanna say I love Grey trusting her enough to run the station. That’s amazing.
Second it's hilarious because they both need her to get a move on. With Smitty in charge god only knows what’s happening without them. When she arrives he’s already given a friend day off….Lucy asks what he’s doing? Tells her 'When you’re in charge you let your friends go home early.' OMG lol Lucy is panicked and says but we’re short today…Reminding him they’re understaffed due to the units on the hospital. Smh. This is why they sent her back...

We return to Ashley back in his room. Talking about how Tim could retire if he wanted. Be on disability/pension if this surgery keeps him from working. Move out of LA. It’s insane to me she would even suggest this. But not surprising. The thing I didn’t like about Ashley was her constantly molding Tim into her version. Once again vapid is the perfect description for Ashley.
Not having him strive to be a better person like Lucy does. Because she is blah and doesn’t challenge him. Just wanted her version of him. Where Lucy challenges him and makes him want to be better. Loves him for who he is. Ashley just keeps trying to shove Tim into a box. Her box of who she thinks he should be like. Not loving him for who he is.
Lucy loves every part of this man. Warts and all and vice versa. Trying to take away being a cop to be a beach bum? Outside of LA? She doesn’t know the man lying next to her at all. Why you ask? Oh you know just those glaring communication issues they've had since day one. This goes all the way back to 4x10 with Kojo. It's not gotten any better.

Because of this lack of communication she’s only gotten surface level Tim. The Tim that doesn’t want to rock the boat. So he is just going with it. Better than making waves. D brought up an excellent point in 4x21 in her comments. About him not fighting her because of his PTSD with Isabel. Her saying he was too rigid. Tim is over correcting now where he’s not even himself at this point. Possibly agreeing to this ‘Life plan’ of hers. Just going through the motions because he has to.
He doesn’t want to be alone and he can’t be with Lucy. It’s insanely heartbreaking when you break it down like this. Tim is losing who he is in this relationship. Just to please a person he doesn’t even love. To quell anxieties his ex-wife thrust upon him. We see him hesitate because it’s a life he doesn’t really want. Makes me mad as I write this. Tim deserves so much better.

Tim goes to stretch his legs while he still can. He sees the fugitive and tries to stop him. Oh my Timothy why would you do this being so hurt? Because he's a lawman first and foremost that's why. Not that Ashley get’s that....I wanna cry with how much pain he’s in. Gah Eric killing me softly. We see his bravado disappear in an instant. Tim then thinks of the two most important women in his life. His sister and his girl. No no not bloody Ashley. Lucy. Sends Ashley to call his sister.
When Grey makes it over he tells him not to tell Lucy. Knowing she would drop EVERYTHING to be by his side. Tim putting her first even when he's in danger himself. Does he not see what a husband move this is? I’m sure Wade does. Minute Ashley is gone he tells him not to tell Lucy. Fierce protector reporting for duty even when he’s hurting. If Lucy saw him grimacing like he is she would lose her damn mind. He knows this and decides to keep her out of the loop because of it.

Lucy sees a bunch of cops leaving and is panicking. They say Smitty is letting them leave early. Harper comes up and Lucy asks for her help. Nyla knowing Lucy is a BAMF saying all she has to do is say different. I adore the way Harper builds her up in this moment. Filling in those gaps still when Tim can’t. It’s amazing. Letting her know she has their respect.
With everything she’s been through and done for others. No way these cops wouldn’t have her back if she asked for it. Lucy tells them what’s going on. How spread thin they are and she needs them. Jan nods and says ‘You got it Chen.’ Love this for her. Smitty comes up and ask if she’s in charge? She says yeah I guess. He looks so relieved and hands the reins over HA

Here comes the scene where I wanna drop kick Ashley into a volcano. I think I’ve been much harsher on Chris than I have her so far. But this is where that changes. Tim is just getting out of surgery. JUST. What does she do? Project her crap onto Tim. Then break up with him for it. Girl, you knew he was a cop from the damn jump. For MONTHS. You knew this. Wasn’t a secret he kept from you. Yet you decide to condemn him for it cause of an injury he had years ago. This has to be one of the most incredibly selfish things I’ve ever seen. That line from 5x08 ‘You deserve someone who’s worth the effort.’ Clearly to Ashley, Tim wasn’t worth the effort.
Breaks my heart for Tim. Leaving him alone post surgery. I hate her for this. I really do. When Lucy would’ve lost her damn mind even knowing about this. The only way she would change her mind is if he retired. Cool so you didn’t get what you wanted so you bail on him? Awesome. Real classy of you. This was just all their crappy communication, incompatibility and just being so wrong for each other coming to a head. At the absolute worst time for Tim. The way he says 'I just got out of surgery...' Breaks my heart. Let me at her Tim. I'm Italian we're scrappy.
I also just wanna hug him so very much. What a shitty thing to do. It’s a rough ride to 5x08. This one just hurts to watch. But good riddance to bad rubbish as they say. Tim was only in that relationship cause it was safe. To fill the hole in his heart Lucy left. And she didn’t even do that good of a job... She did him a favor really. The insane amount of symbolism between Lucy and Ashley in this ep is glaring. When it’s the right person this stuff doesn’t matter. She asks him if she can get him anything? No. Get the hell out. You aren’t fit to breathe the same air as him let alone be in his presence anymore. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out. You won’t be missed.

We return to Lucy at Grey’s desk looking exhausted as hell. He comes in to relieve her. He asks how did it go? She lies and says it was great…. Wade laughs and says ‘It was great?’ He tells her he spoke with the communication supervisor. That she did a masterful job of managing calls with half the normal staff. Lucy thanks him but says she is more than ready to hand it back to him.
She asks about Tim’s laparoscopic? Grey sighs and tells her the news. It’s the way he softly delivers it. Knowing how sick with worry she’s going to be. The man knew. We see the absolute panic on her face. She goes from tired to extremely alert and worried af. That man is the important person in her life. She doesn’t have to blink before she’s at the hospital for him.

Let’s talk about this panicked absolutely panicked walk to his room. How she’s desperately searching for him once she arrives. The way she rubs her tattoo when she reaches it. Gah it’s so good. I love Melissa doing that small touch with her tattoo anytime she is worried/stressed. It’s like she can’t breathe until her eyes are on him. That she won't relax until she can see that he’s safe and ok.
The shaky way she approaches his bed. Bracing herself for the worst since she knows NOTHING about his surgery. Asking him so softly if he’s ok? Getting angry asking 'Why no one told her in the first place?' Tim is smiling because he’s just so damn happy she cares about him. That’s she’s here. He tells her everything went ok. He'll make a full recovery. That he told everyone to keep her in the dark. She goes from worried wifey to scolding LOL

Tim’s answer is so damn revealing. Lucy is picking up on the feelings he’s just laying out for her. Telling her he didn’t want her to worry. Lucy putting the pieces together in her reply. Tim couldn’t be more obvious in his affection for her in this moment. Truly think Lucy was catching onto his feelings right here. It’s the soft way she repeats it back with a very affectionate smile on her face. She loves this man so much. It's written all over her face.
They’re both so sweet and loud in their feelings in this moment. This is such married behavior it’s unreal. He could’ve used Lucy in this whole situation. But once again puts her above his own needs. Because Tim Bradford. Literally screaming his feelings at her in this moment. Tim is realizing this as she parrots back what he did. Goes back on the defensive saying to slow her roll LOL
That he misspoke he was really talking about the station. Uh huh. Sure babe that’s what you’re talking about…Continuing on to say he didn’t want to distract her with worrying about him. So she could properly take over from Smitty. Lucy’s BS detector is out and it’s going off like crazy. He knows she would’ve let the station burn to be with him. To have someone by his side. Instead of calling him out on it further she just does a knowing ‘Mmm-hmm.’

He then goes into proud hubby mode. Look at this man. Like I said in 5x03 he looks at her like she’s hung the moon and stars. Does that by saying he heard she saved the day. Lucy decides to banter back at him. Instead of just taking his praise. Being sassy af in her reply instead of just thanking him. I love this because it shows the comfortability that is still there.
Telling him it wasn't that hard. Pretending she wasn't phased at all by this daunting task. Tacking on she doesn't know why he's always complaining LOL He just complimented her and she knows he means it. So instead of shying away from it she engages in flirty banter with her person. Tim catching onto her game joins in saying 'Really? Just smooth sailing?' They easily fall back into their natural banter here.

Lucy then cracks with a big smile for him. Saying ‘No…it was awful!’ Haha The comfortable solace of their banter coming to life in this moment. It makes my heart so happy after the last few eps. Lucy feels their flow returning. So she decides to rant about her day. Saying to him 'How can so many things go wrong in one day?' ha
Tim returning fire with a sassy reply of his own. Shooting back it wasn’t even a particularly bad day. The flirty body language from Lucy my god. Be more telling my goodness. Does my heart good them bantering and bickering. It's so nice to see after the heaviness they've been carrying around. They both had horrid days. Lucy with the shift from hell. Tim with almost being paralyzed and having emergency surgery.
You wouldn’t know that from watching them banter in this scene. They haven’t had this kind of back and forth in forever. We haven’t seen them this light in weeks. Haven’t see them be themselves at all since 5x01. Look at these two. They’re practically glowing from this sassy banter exchange. Just the pick me up they both needed.

Lucy asks where’s Ashley? Tim stutters around and says he sent her home. She was ‘exhausted.’ Ugh my heart. He’s too hurt to tell her what happened. She’s worried enough about him as is. He won’t add to it. His default gear putting her first. Lucy says ‘Ok.’ believing his lie. She goes to sit down because if she isn’t going to be here Lucy sure as hell is. We talked about symbolism for this ep at the very beginning. This is that in a nutshell.
Lucy filling the seat next to his bed that Ashley has vacated. Not that she is aware of that at this point but Tim is. Lucy makes the choice to stay with him. It means more to Tim in this moment than she’ll ever know. Her automatic reaction is to stay so he doesn’t have to be alone post surgery. Knowing he would like the company even if he doesn’t ask for to. She just knows him that well. This moment means so much to Tim.
He is very gun shy from Ashley legit just abandoning him. He questions why she’s sitting down. The shock is all over his face when she originally takes that seat. Lucy’s answer is wonderful and obvious to her. 'I’m keeping you company.' Thinking what else would I be doing after rushing to come see you? I also think she just wants to keep an eye on him. Make sure he’s really ok.

She is putting him first in this moment. Just like she always has. Always will. Tim tells her she doesn’t have to. Then Lucy does a terrible job of hiding her own feelings. Giving him heart eyes galore replying ‘I know.’ Basically saying ‘I know but I love you.’ No where else she’d rather be. It’s why his smile Is so damn soft for her. She doesn’t have to stay. She WANTS to be with him. Keep him company while he recovers from something so awful.
She is choosing him in this moment and he knows it. It’s written all over his handsome face. He is so grateful to her in this moment. Her presence being a salve to his emotional and physical wounds. Gah I love this episode so very much. Just another ep showing how Lucy is very much his person and Ashley was never close to that. Not in million years. Such a good one after low content drought. Sure it was intentional by the writers to starve us a bit then deliver this gem of ep ❤️

Love learning about Angela’s brother’s. Also that final scene with her mom makes me cry every time. It’s my own issues but I’m jealous. Angela deserves that apology. Yeah she’s a bad ass but even a bad ass still needs their mom. The way her mom owns up to it and apologizes. My heart. It makes me sad cause I’ll never get that so it gets me right in the feels. But so glad she got it.

The shipment was torn into, bullet casings strewn amongst the wooden framing that adorned the floor of his warehouse. The longer he looks at the damaged goods the harder his jaw clenches, teeth grinding, as he looks over what will set him back months to replace. “Security’s been taken care of,” Steve calls from behind him flanking his side as he joins his boss, eyes assessing the scene. 
“Cameras catch anything?” 
Steve’s silence is enough to have Bucky sending his foot into the already damaged crates, the wood splintering further under his foot as the fire burns within him, rage all consuming. “What the fuck am I paying for then!” the brunette all but growls as he rounds on his best friend getting in his space. “No one,” he points to the doors behind Steve, “No one should have been able to get to these crates without a bullet between their eyes, do you know how far back this sets us? Do you know how much money I've lost to this? Give me something Rogers, something other than Security's been taken care of!” 
Steves hard gaze is undeterred, “whoever did this knew what they were doing, they’re not some chump hired off the streets, it could have been a rat.” 
Bucky’s jaw clenches as he glares his concierge down, “you telling me that you let a rat fly under your radar unnoticed,” he growls poking Steve in the chest, “don’t think Wilson would let something like that happen if he had your rank.” Steves features mirror his, “not what I'm saying,” the blonde grits teeth bared, “but this person knew what they were doing Barnes, they took out the cameras, took out our men and our cargo in a matter of minutes, whoever this is has it out for you.” 
The brunette turns away from his friend, cold eyes going back to the problem at hand, “I took care of every last person who would even think of pulling some shit like this when I went after those who wronged my father.” Steve doesn’t have to say your name, for Bucky to know what he’s thinking, “she doesn’t have the drive to pull something like this,” Bucky lies turning away from his friend. “We can’t scratch her from the list,” Steve murmurs, “you lied to her, betrayed her trust, you murdered her father in front of her!” 
Bucky’s on Steve in an instant his hands curled around the lapels of his collar, “I did what I had to do,” he growls, “she wasn’t made for this life Steve, couldn’t even see the corrupt shit her old man was doing behind her back, I had to do it! Her father was ready to sell her soul for the next big thing!” 
“So you to lie to her, couldn’t be the bigger man and tell her what was going on? Had to be just like daddy?” Steve knows he deserves the fist to the face, but he also knows his boss needs to hear it, Steve had never agreed to what Bucky felt he needed to do you that night. Couldn’t stand at his best friends, stand at his bosses' side, the night he murdered your father. Steve knew your father deserved it with what he had planned for you, but he couldn’t agree with how Bucky went about it. “Feel better big man,” Steve spits, blood splattering the concrete, Bucky pushes him away, “Go home Rogers, you’re done here.” 
“You think letting yourself into her home is going to make matters any better for you,” Steve calls after Bucky. “I’m getting answers Rogers, answers you all have failed to give me, go home to Peggy, you’re done.”

Your back was to the wooden oak doors of your office, cooled glass in hand as you look out the French windows of your home. It was dark out, your security having gone home for the night after inspection of your property, your father wouldn’t have agreed to the new change implemented, but they had families; loved ones who waited up for them, waited for their safe arrival home. 
You swirl the cube of ice in your cup, bringing it to your lips as you swallow down the last of the amber liquid. You pretend not to hear the soft creak of your office door, the cautious steps into your office. You wait, “you have a death wish?” You chuckle placing the empty glass down onto your desk before you’re turning to face the man you once thought was the one. 
You wondered if the ache in your chest would ever wane. 
“If it’s my time, it’s my time,” you answer voice void of any emotion, “to what do I owe the pleasure?” 
In the dim of the office you catch the tick of his jaw, he’s annoyed, good. “Your dad’s gone and you just let your guard down? Anyone could just walk in and” he points his fingers at you in the representation of a gun going off right between your eyes. The laugh you let out is cold, “you’re the reason he’s gone James. Is that why you’re here asking stupid questions? You come to end my life the way you ended my fathers? Shame, was expecting you sooner than this, you’re slacking.” 
The tick is more prominent, you’re getting under his skin, “I think you and I both know why I'm here.” You raise a brow, “no actually I don’t, care to let me in or are you going to leave me in the dark like you always did.” “Cut the shit y/l/n the cargo,” he grits, “you’re the only one who could have pulled an operation like that, you knew -” 
You cut him off with a loud laugh, “you’re here because someone fucked with your shit and you think it was me?” “My men are dead because of you,” he growls. Your lips are set in a thin line as you stare the brunette down, “No your men are dead because of you. Not everyone has a vendetta to get those who wrong them Barnes, and my condolences to your men’s family but whoever fucked with your shit it wasn’t me. The day my father died was the day I vowed to myself never to be seen with the likes of you again.”  
“If it wasn’t you then who was it? I made sure to take care of every last person who wronged my father, you’re the only one who could have -” 
“Get out,” you grit, “I said get the hell out of my home Barnes!” you yell when he doesn’t move. “I want nothing to do with you, I don’t want to know anything about you, I hate you, I hate what you’ve done to me, who you’ve made me. I have lost so much because of you, I won’t let you take anymore.” 
His lips part but you hold a finger up, head casted down as you will the knot in your throat away, “Get out. Please.” 
The tick returns, but he doesn’t go against your word as he turns on his heel. It takes a lot of you not to crumble, your features stoned as you heave in shaky breaths. You turn to the desk picking up your burner unlocking the device as you pull up your messages. Opening the only message that sits there you draft up a reply, a file going attached with your warning. 
‘This is all I know. Don’t let your guard down, he’s coming for all of you.’ 
With notification that your message had been received you're sending the device crashing into the floor, your heel cracking straight through the screen glass.

BnHA Volume 35 - A Brief Reaction Journey
hello! so as mentioned in my last post, I’ve started catching up with the BnHA manga again FINALLY after almost two years, and have made it through a fair number of chapters so far! and since I’m not sure how long it will take me to actually post the corresponding liveblogs, I figured I’d make a couple of posts in the meantime to sort of preview my reaction journey thus far with some good old-fashioned OUT-OF-CONTEXT BULLET POINTS taken from my ramblings. originally I was going to make a single post for all 25 chapters I’ve read so far (up to 367), but I quickly realized that was waaaaay too ambitious lol. so for now it’s just this one, and I’ll put up the vol. 36 post probably tomorrow afternoon.
spoiler warning: just fyi, this post will obviously feature spoilers for chapters 342-350*, BUT it will also include some stray spoilers from chapters 362 and 403 as well, so just a heads up for that if you aren’t fully caught up!

Endeavor being taller than Jeanist just feels so WRONG to me regardless of whether or not it is factually accurate. does this mean All Might is also taller than Jeanist?? I don’t want to live in a world where Best Jeanist has secretly been a perfectly normal sized person this entire time. someone please lie to me and tell me that he is tall

— i think hawkeye’s is definitely physical touch . it’s pretty obvious when you watch him the more he likes someone the more touchy he is with them … leaning into trapper when he laughs , arm consistently around radar whenever he talks to him , hugging and leaning into bj , letting the others sleep on him , holding margaret when she’s upset , a hand on henry’s shoulder … i could go on and on . “ oh but he’s always touchy with everyone “ because he loves everyone ??? next question
— i think trapper is less of an acts of service guy ( i think a lot of the stuff he does is just because it’s funny ) and more of a quality time guy . i mean of course it goes without saying that he’s always hanging around hawkeye because he loves hawkeye , but i think we see it reflected a ton too with this patients ; there’s several instances where we see him hanging around their bedsides in hopes they’ll get better . and there’s several instance where we see him just hanging out with henry or hawkeye or even frank doing nothing . but doing it just because he loves them and wants to be around them and i really think that’s sweet lol
— it’s so a hard to tell with frank because obviously we don’t see him do any loving acts a ton , but if i had to assign one to him i’d say gift giving . frank is so stingy that even getting him to give something to someone of any value ( whether it be a necklace or a signature on a form ) is monumental . and when he does i feel like it must be because he loves them . deep down . just a hair
— henry is words of affirmation without a doubt in my mind . like we see him struggle with using his words to express how he feels ( like in ‘ henry , please come home ‘ where he stutters before telling hawkeye and trapper that they’re swell , and giving radar a pat on the head ) , but he really shows how much words mean to him in episodes like ‘ ceasefire ‘ and ‘ abyssinia , henry ‘ . i also think in episodes like ‘ sometimes you hear the bullet ‘ or ‘ the trial of henry blake ‘ or ‘ sticky wicket ‘ when he offers encouraging words or is straightforward about how he feels , he means them . and he’s saying them to express that he cares , and i think that’s big for him . so yeah , words of affirmation for henry .
— margaret is quality time , even from the early seasons when she took so much consideration on setting up her little dates with frank . she just likes spending time with people , with the patients , with her nurses , with potter , with the swamp rats . she finds time , even with how busy she gets with being head nurse , to take little moments with people she cares about . i think its more subtle , but i think it’s very important to her character to notice .
— radar is acts of service . i mean , yeah , a lot of the stuff he does is because he has to do it , but a lot of the stuff he does he doesn’t have to do , either . my always goes to ‘ showtime ‘ when he found the mother with the baby and went to henry with her when he missed the birth of his own kid . i love thag radar is always helping out in his own little ways when even hawkeye may be unaware . he’s just always going out of his way to help , and i love him for that . i love him for that .
— charles is words of affirmation to me too . i think opening up and being honest is a big big thing for charles , and i think since he didn’t really have anyone growing up to offer him those words it adds to the fact that he uses them as something he didn’t really ever have . its a big deal for him ,, it makes the scenes with his stuttering patient and the piano player more special . because he means it . because its coming from his heart .
— i’d like to think klinger is gift giving , as he’s doing manicures or sometimes giving things to the nurses or giving his little bits of fashion advice . i think its not always the physical things he’s giving away , but also little pieces of his heart through his kind acts .
— father mulcahy is acts of service , not only because he ( more or less ) has to because of his profession , but because he genuinely likes going out of his way to help people , i think . he worries that his profession doesn’t help people in the way the doctors do , because it’s not as obviously outwardly making a difference , and i think he struggles with that because his way of loving and helping isn’t ‘ enough ‘ sometimes . but i genuinely think it’s less about him being a priest and more because he has this innate love for humanity and he wants to help them .
— finally , i think potter is quality time and my strongest argument for thjs is the time he takes painting portraits of the 4077th members or his participation in the parties , despite the fact he doesn’t seem as though he’d be a party fella . i think both of those are just excuses because he can’t bring himself to admit he just likes spending time with his little found family

i don't like how some parts of the fandom make eddie almost too incompetent to be alive. and treat all of it like it's canon. "eddie can't cook, he almost burned down the kitchen", "eddie's bitchy and jealous", "buck's always doing the dishes at the diaz house", "good thing buck introduced eddie to carla and likes babysitting chris, because eddie was struggling to take care of chris without him", "eddie doesn't understand his emotions", "eddie doesn't like his girlfriend and he only wants a babysitter", "eddie makes stupid choices instead of talking about his emotions" WHAT SHOW ARE YOU PEOPLE WATCHING??
I will say most of it I think are just fandom jokes that get lost in translation or like used as a device for fic purposes
And I agree with you to an extent (imma explain why to an extent) because Eddie is a very competent person
I think the easiest way for me is to bullet point each of the things you touch on but please know I’m not being curt with you and I appreciate the ask I just like breaking thoughts down into chunks🫶:
1. Eddie not being able to cook (or being in the process of improving his skill) is canon but yeah it’s dramatised for jokes/fic purposes which can be enjoyable ngl
2. This one I’m sorry but imma have to disagree with you, Eddie IS bitchy and stuff in canon like that’s just a facet of his character like it’s not even a character flaw in my eyes - oo actually lemme adjust that Eddie isn’t bitchy more so he is able to be bitchy in certain situations like anyone- and it doesn’t make him incompetent or anything
3. Again I think just for fic/jokes purposes but if you ask me whoever cooks the other should do dishes😌
4. THIS ONE YES I AGREE 1000% like people who say that miss that the fact buck did this for him isn’t sweet because Eddie would be an incompetent parent if he didn’t but because to step in and help where you aren’t needed but just to lessen the load for someone is what’s special, like Eddie didn’t need to let buck so into his life but he ALLOWS himself that vulnerability and to let another person help and that’s huge like as Ryan said in that one interview like that scene where Buck drops Eddie after the earthquake just symbolises all that because Eddie has his own car and can drive himself but he lets buck in and lets him help
5. Last two go hand in hand so I’m joining them - I think this one again is like a bit in canon but also not a character flaw or incompetence, I think it’s just very human and very fleshed out for a character to go through things and not fully grasp what they’re feeling at that point or know but bury it or know but misinterpret it or just act or make dumb choices
Like a good example is his fight club era, he had a lot of messy and complicated and mixed emotions and made bad choices instead of talking about those emotions - doesn’t make him incompetent or a bad person just someone who feels things

You know why?? Because my special interests is psychology BECAUSE IDK WHY TF IT’S SO HARD TO JUST LET MEN HAVE NORMAL ASS MENTAL HEALTH PROBLEMS.
Literally, every friggin’ character who’s (textually) traumatized and male has to be either a war veteran or a serial killer for some reason. Like where the hell are all the dudes who shut down, cry, have panic attacks, use comfort items, regress a bit in language capabilities till they’re more grounded, you know, things that trauma actually causes??

I think I blue screened of death like 5 times watching this episode cause I couldn’t believe the show was just… letting this happen. Like thank fuck, (and please correct me if I’m wrong because I do not have this condition) an actually accurate depiction of ptsd for once! And now kindly follow me into the land of bullet points to illustrate this more clearly.

Ed’s anxiety/ level of functioning is not homogenized. He’s shown throughout the episode to have varying degrees of tolerance to triggers depending on the context and his emotional state. Telling the story to people he trusts in a safe context shakes him up a bit, but he’s ultimately able to laugh it off. Being reminded of the trauma when the environment is super chaotic and he’s about to literally repeat the event with someone he deeply cares for causes a full blown flashback.

It follows the proper… anatomy I guess(?) of a ptsd attack. Ed’s subplot in this episode is spent mainly breaking down his defenses, so when eventually there’s a sensory reminder (trigger) of his trauma he’s not prepared for, there’s a big reaction. He experiences a flashback (unsolicited vivid remembering, can be so intense your subconscious thinks you’re actually there), and he has a completely realistic response to it. No one’s concerned with emasculating him or whatever the fuck, men get overwhelmed and burst into tears sometimes damnit! And afterwards he’s not just fine, he actually needs to be grounded, attempting to take care of himself before Stede comes and helps him calm down completely. This isn’t seen as weak in the slightest, it’s just extremely unrealistic to expect someone to do such a thing quickly or without help.
There’s nuance and complexity. It’s unclear whether or not Ed’s breakdown was ultimately caused by the mention of the kraken, or the banging sounds of the puppet. It’s not supposed to be clear, not even to Ed. It’s obvious that witnessing the abuse of his mother and killing his father are not easily separated events in his memory. Trauma isn’t clean and pretty like that, and it doesn’t draw a perfectly traceable line from past to present in a one to one ratio.

He’s shown to continuously have triggers, it’s not just treated as a plot device cause we need Ed to break down and admit to attempted murder. And again they aren’t cleanly connected to the major traumatic event of killing his father, but rather smaller things that used to be unsafe day to day. The banging on the door explicitly reminds him of growing up with domestic abuse and watching Izzy fight Stede does so implicitly, being unable to even watch a loved one be put in psychical danger much less intervene.

And the absolute best part, what should be so friggin’ easy to do yet so many shows apparently prove that wrong, is that the framing doesn’t ridicule or belittle Ed for his emotions once. Not one single time. In a comedy no less. Oh sure the scene where he’s crying in a bathtub is fucking hilarious, but absolutely none of the humor comes from the fact that he’s crying in a bathtub. Because the writers know this kind of subject matter should be treated with gravity and are actually talented enough to do so without a weird out of nowhere tone shift. The closest I can think of to Ed’s trauma responses being seen as “funny” is when he falls out of the curtain sobbing and the Dutchmen freak out very cartoonishly and run away. But even then it’s clearly the Dutchmen who are the butt of the joke.
I get the same vibes as when they decided not to depict the abuse of Ed’s mother on screen. They not only portrayed this subject matter correctly but did so thoughtfully. They clearly wrote this episode while considering the needs of those who’d actually be able to relate to it.

What makes movie action “good?”
There’s a John Wick movie in theaters. There seems to be pretty uniform agreement that John Wick movies have great action, and simultaneously, there seems to be a lot of general “Marvel fatigue,” some of which is specifically about the MCU, but also some of which is about “action blockbusters” that seem to put a lot of focus on action and spectacle that a lot of people seem to be growing increasingly disenchanted with. (See, for example:  Tomorrow War (2021) starring Chris Pratt, Extraction (2020) starring Chris Hemsworth, and to round out the Chris roster we also have Wonder Woman 1984 (2020) with Chris Pine.)
Most of the discussion tends to focus on effects, and how making everything in a computer feels soulless while practical effects like the ones in John Wick and Everything Everywhere All At Once are superior, and there’s a certain degree to which blockbuster CG does look worse due to everything being computer generated. But I think a much bigger and more deep-seated problem is that blockbuster action is poorly structured.
There are a lot of great practical scenes in John Wick with choreography that is great not just in execution, but in concept: if you recreated them with computer animation, or hand-drawn animation, many of them would be just as fun. You could look at a storyboard with a director’s poorly-drawn pencil sketches and you’d still be able to follow the logic and understand what the scene’s impact is supposed to be. You can tell this, because people can describe these scenes, and regularly do exactly that, because they’re memorable. It’s what the legend of John Wick is all about. (And it’s not just the “top 10 most creative John Wick kills” listicles that remind us of that fact.)

The thing is, John Wick doesn’t rely on the unique outlandish props for memorable kills. Most of John Wick’s kills boil down to “point gun, pull trigger.” And yet despite that most of his kills are with bullets, so many of them feel unique. Each scene feels like it has a tempo to it, a sense of flow, a chain of cause and effect. “That guy is hiding behind a pillar, but his toe is sticking out. So I’ll shoot him in the toe, causing him to bend over in pain, exposing the rest of his body so I can shoot center of mass.” There’s always the moment when John Wick runs empty and has to reload before delivering the killshot.
There’s a storytelling principle that’s often applied to plot structure. This was famously described by Trey Parker to a bunch of NYU students on MTVU's "Stand In." Trey Parker describes the writers room as containing a massive white board, split into 3 acts, where they write down ideas scenes and rearrange them. Each scene has to be entertaining by itself, but they also need to be connected by a coherent narrative through-line.
"You don't want just one scene where, 'well, what was the point of that?' Take the beats of your outline, and if the words 'and then' belong between those beats, you've got something pretty boring. What should happen between every beat that you've written down is either the word 'therefore,' or 'but.'”
A happens, therefore B happens. Or, B doesn't happen, but C happens, therefore D happens. Repeat.  You can use this to structure the plot for a 25-minute TV episode, or a 120-minute movie, or a 2-minute action scene. Follow it, beat by beat, and see if one leads to the next:
One of the evil henchmen comes swinging at our hero with a wooden chair raised over his head, but the hero dodges and the wooden chair smashes against the floor, shattering. Therefore, the ground is now covered with the broken remains of a wooden chair, so the mook picks up one of the long pieces of wood that served as a chair leg and begins swinging at the hero again. But the hero successfully dodges and the wooden club breaks and splinters in a way that causes it to become, therefore the mook starts trying to use the splintered end to stab the hero...
I’m not saying this is an amazing action scene, but it’s a competent one: each beat flows into the next. The chair becomes a chair leg, then the chair leg becomes a shiv. Each time the henchman comes rushing at the hero, he’s doing it with a different weapon. The scene has a logic to it: if you rearranged the shots, the scene wouldn’t make sense. You can’t start with a splintered piece of wood and then end on an intact chair.
So many mediocre action movies fail to deliver it. The bad guy punches the hero. And then he punches the hero again. And then he tries to kick the hero. And then he punches in a different, cooler way. There’s no real sense in which each beat is a consequence of what followed it: if you cut the scene up and rearranged the shots, a lot of people might not even notice. (And in fact that sort of thing happens all the time in the editing bay.)
Tony Zhou self-deprecatingly describes this problem when critiquing one of his own videos, saying “This is a list you could put in any order. That’s why it’s so boring.”
For examples of action cinema where every beat feels like a consequence of what preceded it, watch any classic Jackie Chan movie (the ones that came out of Hong Kong, not Hollywood). Tony Zhou describes it like this:
“So how does Jackie create action that is also funny? First off, he gives himself a disadvantage. No matter what film, Jackie always starts beneath his opponents. He has no shoes. He’s handcuffed. He has a bomb in his mouth.“

“From this point, he has to fight his way back to the top. Each action creates a logical reaction. And by following the logic, we get a joke.” (Jackie is facing an assailant with a gun; Jackie has a gun, but it’s empty. Therefore, Jackie fakes surrender, handing his empty gun to the assailant. Therefore, the assailant is now holding an unloaded gun in his left hand. The assailant now thinks he has control of the situation, but reaching for the unloaded gun distracted him the fact that Jackie was entering a fighting stance and getting ready to kick: therefore, when Jackie kicks, he succeeds in knocking the loaded gun out of the assailant’s right hand. Therefore, the assailant tries to fire at Jackie using the gun in his left hand -- which is empty, and he realizes it in a moment of surprise which Jackie seizes on by punching the assailant in the face.)
This is the joy of watching Jackie Chan films: much like the example of a chair (which morphs into a chair leg, which morphs into a shiv), a prop in a Jackie Chan movie is rarely just one thing. A ladder isn’t just a ladder; it’s a prop. And it’s several different kinds of props. Fighting with a ladder like this:

And if you flip it over a guy’s head, it suddenly becomes a cage:

...trapping a guy just long enough for him to look at you in surprise right before your fist intersects with his face.
It’s great for action comedy, but it’s also great for straight action: sometimes, the “punchline” is someone getting defeated in a surprising way. John Wick is one of the few big franchises of recent years to reliably do this sort of thing well.
Often, John Wick accomplishes this by being clever.  But I think a big part of it comes down to the fact that John Wick is just mortal enough for the number of bad guy’s he’s facing to matter. Each scene needs a sense of “progress,” where the stakes are constantly changing, and sometimes the change in stakes is as simple as, “There are five bad guys, oh no!” Bang bang, pivot, bang bang. “Okay, now there are only three bad guys.” (It’s harder to do this when you’ve been injected with super soldier serum and wear a suit made of high-tech blast resistant stretch fabric: Captain America subduing five bad guys doesn’t feel meaningfully different from him subduing three bad guys, even if the way he punches them is really cool.)
Stakes matter! If threat level scales linearly with the number of bad guys on screen, then each scene will have a natural eb and flow to it as bad guys get gradually picked off (or as more of them stream into the room, or pick themselves up off the floor and reach for the gun they just dropped).
One of the MCU scenes that actually did this better than most is the famous Captain America elevator scene: first, Crossbones and two guys get onto the elevator with cap. A bit surprising. Why is that guy resting his hand on his hip so close to his gun? Several floors later, the elevator opens, and four more guys get on. They’re wearing suits, like you’d expect from people who just showed up for a day at the office. This is headquarters, there’s nothing to be worried about. So why is that guy sweating? Then, the  door opens again, and three more guys get on -- and these guys are wearing tac gear. But hey, it’s Jack -- I know Jack, he was in the first ensemble movie, he can’t be one of the bad guys...so why is he standing directly between me and the door?
It’s a great example of slowly amping up the tension by gradually adjusting the threat level up. The scene even amps up the tension by having the magnetic handcuff, which leaves Cap in various stages of incapacitation throughout the fight. And he has to fight his way up from the bottom. But we very quickly go from this iconic shot:

...then after literally three seconds of Cap delivering a rapid series of strikes to incapacitate most of the mooks, he’s back to fighting two or three of them at a time.
Despite there being ten bad guys in the elevator, it’s kind of hard to get a clear fix on how many of them attacking Cap at any given moment, all of the others existing in various states of injury and recovery after they get the wind knocked out of them. In fact, the only shot that allows us to get a full body count is after the fight is over:

But it’s still a fun scene, one of my favorites, succeeding at being fun and memorable.
The bigger issue is the need to be “epic”: threat level can’t scale linearly with the number of bad guys on screen when you want a scene where there are literally hundreds of enemies to fight off.
There’s a certain point at which the marginal effect of another bad guy on screen is effectively zero. Obviously, this is the case when you have hundreds or dozens of enemies on screen, but there’s a real sense in which “group of seven bad guys” doesn’t feel different from “group of six bad guys.” Our brains just categorize both as “a pretty big cluster.” Research tends to come to slightly different results on this, but it seems like humans count “one, two, three, four, many.” Once you have five bad guys on screen, adding a sixth bad guy doesn’t do anything to change the stakes.  (That’s the problem with having a hero who’s so strong that you need to throw 10 bad guys at him to pose any threat.)
If you cap the total number of on-screen bad guys at five, then each enemy the hero defeats meaningfully changes the stakes, and John Wick does this a lot. In many cases, the flow just comes from watching the number of bad guys on screen decrease linearly as the hero picks them off, one by one. It gives the scene a natural scenes of progress, and it can sometimes be played for comedy, like Neal Stephenson does in Snow Crash in a scene described by a sniper’s dialog:
"It's, like, one of them drug dealer boats," Vic says, looking through his magic sight.  "Five guys on it.  Headed our way."  He fires another round.  "Correction.  Four guys on it."  Boom.  "Correction, they're not headed our way anymore."  Boom.  A fireball erupts from the ocean two hundred feet away.  "Correction.  No boat."
That’s a (very short) scene with flow. You can’t rearrange the beats; every beat leads to the next. Follow the logic, and arrive at the punchline.

August has imagined this scenario before – it’s a familiar nightmare that has plagued their sleep for years, and it always ends the same regardless of what they do. In the dark hours of the night, you are always hit even if they shove you, even if they try to take the bullet for you, even if August insists you don’t come. It’s always unavoidable.
Tonight, those terrors have become reality. 
The bullet never should’ve been yours to take.
August’s pistol breaks the silence that settled, their aim perfect and the bullet they unleashed lodges itself into the skull of the assailant. August pays no attention to them as their body crumples to the ground, rather, their focus is entirely on you.
You feel warm despite the damp, cool nighttime air. Some part of you knows the warmth is from the crimson pool you’re lounging in, but you feel at peace.
“Baby, I need you to stay with me,” August’s voice sounds far away, but you recognize the panic. Pressure bordering on painful settles on your abdomen, and you wince involuntarily. August hovers over you, their hands on the gushing wound in a desperate, futile attempt to stem the bleeding. “Please don’t leave,” August pleads, their voice cracking. Their face is above yours only by a few inches, their wide eyes stare into yours and the fear in the dark orbs is as clear as a cloudless day.
“I love you,” you croak. 
“It was never supposed to be you, baby,” August cries out, dropping their forehead to rest against yours. “Never you.” 
Hours later, when they find the courage to tear themselves from your body, they shoot another bullet in your already-dead killer. They deserved so much worse for what they did to you.
… 
Faster, run faster, you old fuck Blair urges themself.
Blair urges themselves to run faster, their eyes focused on the flashing red and blue lights they’re approaching. “Where are they?” they’re demanding the nearest officer, their tone much more abrasive than they intended. 
The officer points down a shadowy alley, and Blair sprints down it without any caution. They slow as they near the scene, paramedics are packing their equipment, and a bottomless pit of dread swallows Blair whole. Am I too late?
Blair drops to their knees, barely noticing the pain as their protesting knees collapse onto the concrete. You look so lifeless. Blair’s hands hover uselessly in the air above your body for a moment, uncertainty weighing on them. How can I help you? Can I make this better?
“They have a few minutes,” one of the paramedics advises with a sad expression before standing from their knelt position and exiting the alley. I’ll damn them to hell for giving up on you.
“Love, I’m sorry I’m late,” Blair murmurs, one of their hands dropping to hold your limp hand laying on the ground. They swallow dryly as they caress your clammy, cold palm. Their free hand moves to your cheek, gently stroking your skin.
“It’s okay,” you reply, your voice a mere whisper. “You always work late,” you joke, chuckling pathetically before coughing. Coughing and coughing. 
“Get them some water,” Blair commands to a nearby officer. The officer rushes away, their mind surely racing to figure out where they’ll get you water in the dead of the night. You can’t stop coughing, your throat is dry and everything in you is begging for relief. “Hurry up! Get them some fucking water!” Blair roars down the alley, their shouts directed at no one yet everyone.
“Please, get them some water,” Blair repeats, much quieter this time. Their lips drop to your forehead, pressing a long, firm kiss, and they squeeze your hand comfortingly. 
Your coughing stops and Blair’s sobbing begins.
“You’re not going to die, right?” Wren asks lightheartedly in a desperate attempt to see you smile one more time. “Only wimps die, are you a wimp, Detective?” 
Your chest rises sporadically, your breathing shallow and uneven. Wren settles on the damp concrete, resting their back on the brick wall and they pull you to them. They position your head against their chest, your legs press against theirs and your body is cradled between their limbs.
A steady stream of blood pools from your chest, you glance at the red staining your shirt and wince. You both know you only have a few minutes - if you’re lucky. 
“What is about you and getting into trouble?” Wren questions, a foreign tension in their voice despite their best efforts to hide it. “Damn cops always take the chicken way out,” Wren murmurs in your ear with a weak laugh. 
“Sorry,” you splutter, coughing weakly. You know you sound anything but sorry.
“I know, baby.” Wren replies with a sigh, their breath ghosting across the skin of your neck. “Thank you for choosing me and for loving me. I need you to know I love you more than anything else in this world,” they say, their voice so serious it leaves you breathless. “I love you more than I love myself, which is a pretty big deal,” they tease, their hands brushing up and down your sides slowly.
“Thanks for taking this so seriously,” you reply sarcastically, and Wren releases a deep laugh. A small smile graces your lips as you listen to them, a sudden urge of contentment – despite the circumstances - surging through you. 
“Anything for you, babe.” Wren chuckles, pressing a chaste kiss to the top of your head.
Comfortable silence settles over you, and Wren sits there for hours just holding you, even long after you’re gone. 
… 
“What can I do? What do I do? How can I help you?” Neve says in a rush, their words barely discernable. They stare at you with wide, alarmed eyes. 
“It’s okay, Neve,” you reply breathlessly, pain wracking you. The area near the knife lodged in you is uncomfortably warm and wet with your blood. Your hands press against your side, and you stumble toward the nearest wall to support yourself.
“No!” they shout suddenly, taking both of you by surprise. “It is not okay,” they say, now calmer and more controlled. They hover near you as you lean against the brick wall. “Are you dizzy? Let’s lay you down, I do not want you to fall.” 
Neve removes their coat, carefully laying it across the cement ground. “I’ll ruin your coat,” you say, hesitant.
“I could not care less about my coat,” Neve replies as they gently help you lie down on the plush fabric. Their familiar scent wafts in the air, bringing you comfort. 
“I will be right back; I’m going to find something to elevate your feet,” they say to you, their worried expression morphing into a look of sheer determination. They will save you. 
“Neve, don’t leave,” you protest weakly, one of your hands reaches out and grabs their wrist. 
“I have to elevate your feet-,” they begin insistently, their panic returning.
“It won’t help,” you say, shaking your head. 
“It has to help,” Neve argues. “I have to help you.”
“You can’t.”
“Why won’t you let me help you?” Neve asks, aghast. 
“You can’t.”
A choked sob escapes them, their body shakes as tears begin pouring from their eyes. They wrap themselves around you, embracing you tightly. You run a hand soothingly through their hair, doing your best to comfort them. Their body shakes as they cry, and an hour later their hot tears continue to fall on your cold, lifeless body.

Soap is right fucking knackered.
The op had gone to shite as soon as the last two men guarding the garage pressed a silent alarm before Soap could dispatch them, summoning a small army of backup that had not been in the intel brief. 
It takes all his years of training, Ghost on his six, and sheer bloody luck to make it out in one piece. To top it off, since the place is now crawling with hostiles, exfil has been pushed back; they have to bunk in a safe house until things settle.
Soap barely fights the urge to groan as Laswell relays that charming detail to them. All he wants is a hot shower, a cold glass of water, and eight blissfully uninterrupted hours of shut-eye in a bed he knows he won’t get shot in. 
Well, as long as Price doesn’t figure out that Soap’s been the one deliberately shrinking his shirts, that is. What can Soap say; the man needs to get laid. He’s seen the way Gaz has been gawking at the captain, the way Price sneaks his own looks when he thinks no one’s watching, and Soap is more than happy to be their fairy fuckmother or whatever. He just wants someone to be getting some, is all. 
“Chin up, Sergeant,” Ghost—speak of the fuckin' devil—deadpans as he sets the course towards the coordinates Laswell had provided. “Least I’m not pullin’ a bullet outta your arm this time.”
“There’s still time,” Soap grumbles. “Think we’d get exfilled faster if ye were?”
Ghost snorts. “Not with the way our luck’s been goin’ tonight, Johnny. Let’s get the fuck outta here.”

The safe house is standard; utterly ordinary, out-of-the-way, lightly stocked with food and gear. Working electric too, so Soap helps himself to a glass of cold water. That’s one thing off his checklist, anyway, and he’s already eyeing the washroom where a shower beckons. Maybe the night won’t be all bad.
“Go ahead,” Ghost says, like he’s reading Soap’s mind. “I’ll check the supplies, figure out something to eat.”
“Have I told ye how much I love ye lately, Lt?” Soap breathes, hardly thinking before the words are out and he’s brushing past Ghost and into the washroom. 
Soap stands under the blissfully hot water with his eyes closed and pretends he’s in a swanky spa in Glasgow instead of The-Middle-of-Fucking-Nowhere, Russia. It works, almost, but his grumbling stomach reminds him he has other things to tend to.
He switches the shower off with a sigh and towels off before tugging his base-layers back on. He especially hates this part—having to return to dirty clothes—but at least they’re quick-dry
Soap opens the door to the washroom, halfway to feeling like a person again, and then he hears it.
He thinks it’s the radio at first, on some weird Russian instrumental channel, but as he draws closer, he picks out little pauses, little imperfect scratches of fingers on strings, and he realizes right before he sees it that it’s not the radio; it’s Ghost.
Soap is not ready for the sight or what it does to him.
A single lamp casts the scene in gold and banishes the shadows to the corners of the sitting room. Ghost is down to his balaclava, t-shirt, and tactical trousers, cross-legged on the ground, a worn acoustic guitar in his lap. He watches his fret hand as he plays, his movements a bit slow but smooth, careful, practiced. Soap doesn’t know the song but he doesn’t really care; his eyes are fixed on Ghost’s hands. 
Big, scarred, powerful hands that Soap has seen slit throats, crush windpipes, disassemble and reassemble sidearms in under thirty seconds. Hands that are just as much a part of Ghost’s kit as his throwing knives. And Soap can’t stop watching those hands as they dance nimbly across frets, strum a precise rhythm that leaves Soap breathless for a reason he’s not allowed to let himself think about.
It’s over too soon.
“Ah didnae ken ye played, sir,” Soap murmurs, scrambling to fill the sudden silence before his traitorous thoughts do.
Ghost shrugs and ducks his head. He plucks a few more notes in a half-melody. “Dad taught me. ‘S been…a while since I’ve practiced,” he replies, voice rough, and Soap knows better than to push. 
There’s something desperately close to vulnerability in the air as Soap kneels in front of Ghost. Ghost’s eyes, honey-gold in the low light, track him the entire time, and curse that fucking mask because Soap would kill a thousand men to see Ghost’s face right now, to touch—
Soap swallows the want with practiced ease and fixes a smile to his face. “Y’know any other songs, Lt.? Closest I’ve been to a proper concert in ages.”
Ghost rolls his eyes but plucks out a few more notes before starting a new song in earnest. 
And the moment passes, like all these moments pass, because Ghost is Ghost and Soap is an expert at dealing with wanting things he’ll never have.
Soap tugs his knees to his chest, leans back against the sofa, closes his eyes, and lets the raspy acoustics wash over him.
He doesn’t realize he’s dozed off until he’s being woken up by Ghost pressing a mug of steaming soup into his hands.
“Eat this and get to bed,” Ghost says. Any vulnerability is gone, replaced by the Lieutenant’s gruff commands. “Long day tomorrow and I need you sharp.”
Soap knows the drill.
“Yes, sir,” he replies, stifling a yawn, and accepting the soup gratefully.
Soap’s sleep is as fitful and light as it always is in the field. 
But he dreams of music.

this is basically the plot of lifeline where she takes a near-fatal bullet for him; now spilling out a death-bed confession in an attempt to fix things as she thinks she’s about to die and wants to clear the air between the two of them – can’t leave Simon like this without telling him that for all the shite they put each other through, that at the end of the day, he always seems to look out for her no matter how much she gets on his nerves, which is why it was such an easy decision for her to sacrifice herself for him; trust and love are two independent things in their relationship, and they develop the first one much sooner than the second one
they’re dancing around the fact that they care for each other
I’m sure at some point in the safe house while they’re he’s waiting for MEDEVAC he’s thinking—
Because for all of your anger and the fuckin’ complaining that you do, I've learned that you’ll always follow me into a battle even when the odds are against us. I’ve seen it. I know that you’re stupid enough to stay by my side in a losing fight… so answer this: doesn’t that make you just as bad as me?
(this scene also spurs him into desperately trying to save her after she’s already bled out too much of her blood volume on the helo because the situation between them is a ‘I’m the only one that’s allowed to kill you’ type)

Chaos tumbles in the streets, shouts echoing  from the crowds. 
Ruckus in a small town, built into a crevice in the mountain, it’s far too easy to cause havoc on its streets.
People are rushing to see what has happened at the small museum just down the street to the various neighborhoods, though get pulled away when they see the people running the opposite way. Half aren’t even sure what they’re running from.
The front doors to the museums walls burst open suddenly, a tall figure strutting out of the frame. 
Y/n Odinson, in all his grace.
A few gasps come from the witnesses, eyes widening upon seeing the man. The before untouched museum now holds shattered windows, it looks broken. 
A few spikes of glass crunch under Y/n’s boots, a trail of shards gathered around the door. It takes another moment for people to see the pendant swinging from his clenched fist.
“Stop, now!” The first officer to arrive at the scene, holding a gun in front of him. Just a minute too late, he’s running to catch up. 
A second one appears behind him a moment later, but doesn’t chase, instead crouches behind the hood of his car and points his own gun towards Y/n’s clenched fist.
“We’ll shoot!” He shouts, hearing the sirens of backup following behind. Y/n doesn’t flinch. 
“That doesn’t sound too smart,” The man speaks nonchalantly, further frustrating the cops behind him, “but if you must, I suggest now.” There’s a sly grin on his face when he looks at them over his shoulder. 
So, they do.
A bang pierces the air, and suddenly a bullet is flying. Y/n knows it’s headed his way, but it’s too late anyways. For he was gone the second the trigger was pulled- puffed away with nothing but an imprint of dirt and blue fog left behind. 
People look around, confused.
He’s escaped, and he holds another piece with him.

In the dark room, I notice there’s few sources of light for me to work with. 
The window, the clock, and the lamp just to the right of me. 
Even as it becomes later and later into the night, I’m still sitting here, hunched over this damn desk with two of the same  things placed in front of me- one being the necklace stolen mere hours prior. 
Its jewels reflect in the light of the lamp, red and green jewels lining a silver chain. It shines the brightest compared to the dusty old book beside it.
I continue to stare at it, before a frustrated groan rumbles out of my already sore throat. 
“This isn’t going anywhere…” I mumble bitterly. 
I grab the book, pages squished between the leather cover. I run my thumb down the engraved cover, it’s patterns bumping under my finger. There’s a pad of dust on my thumb when I lift it again, a trail left behind on the leather. 
I’m so close- I feel it. Yet in the back of my mind it feels like I’m so, so far. 
The lights coming in from my window distract me for a moment, and I look at all the buildings I’ve looked at everyday. It’s all the same, like I’m exactly where I was yesterday, no more progress than the day before. 
Slowly, my gaze turns back to the desk.
After my father fumbled the Tesseract that first time, I felt even more determined to surpass him.
 To take on the world better than he could have ever imagined, make him feel as stupid as he looked.
I had thought that maybe going a more logical route would be more successful than his try, try, and try again strategy. 
And sometimes I think it’s working.
And then, there’s moments like this, when I’m hunched over a desk with a mind as blank as a void, that I think it really isn’t. 
I run my hands down the side of my face, the heels of my hands pressing into my skin. 
The god of mischief was just as good of a father as you’d expect. 
I remember the nights still, when he shouldve been home, stuck in that run down apartment with his face plastered across the tv, a big mischievous smile because he thought what he did was significant.
It makes me flinch how much I’ve grown to be like him.  
There’s a small crack between the holder and the 3rd gem of the necklace, a gap that would be hard to notice from any other angle. I reach out my thumb, and run it gently along the crack a few times as if to smooth it out. 
Another sigh, and I stand up from my chair. I’ll figure it out. I have to, I’ll do it and I’ll become better than he ever was, as low as that standard may be. 
I just have to do it right.

“He did it again.” 
“Who?”
“Who do you think?”
Bruce looks between Tony and the computer curiously, standing up from his work. 
“Don’t tell me.” 
Across the room, Mr. Stark sighs. 
“That son of a bitch.” He mutters, fingers pressed against the bridge of his nose. The headline, big and bold on his screen, “Precious necklace stolen from small town museum- the work of Y/n.” 
“He’s up to something.” Bruce says, moving so he can read the headline over Tony’s shoulder, who just groans.
“He’s not just planning something- he knows something.”
Bruce glances back at the brunette man, “Should we do something to stop him?”
The answer is obvious. 
“We have to.” Tony sighs as his face leaves his hands. “We need him anyways.”
At this, Bruce looks at the man curiously. “We do? Why?”
Tony stares straight into the pixels of his screen.
“Because I know what he’s planning.”

It’s a slower day in downtown DC.
I can’t decide what I’m doing here, nor what I want to be doing. All I know is that I’m getting closer and closer to the capital with no plans of turning around.
There’s a corner coming up, and I turn, not expecting to see the woman around the corner when I do.
Natasha Romanoff, Black Widow, looks at me expectantly as we make eye contact. 
“Well hello.” She says smoothly, giving me only a second to process before lunging for me. I feel a tingling in my palm, sparks of blue seeping through my fingers. 
“Oh, what a nice surprise.” I mock her, and she’s about to reach me. But just before she can make contact, I’m out of there again. 
I leave her on the sidewalk with nothing but the same blue fog as always, appearing back in an alleyway a few blocks down. Thinking I’m alone, the sparks fade from my fist. But another voice makes itself known before I can even turn around.
“-well that was easy.”
I spin around only to see Captain America at the other end of the alleyway. My eyes narrow- they’re kidding.
“Well doesn’t this work out well.”
Another glance behind me and I can see that Natasha has caught up to me much quicker than I had expected. I raise an eyebrow. 
“So you brought a friend? That’s nice.” I remark, before throwing a swift punch her way. She jumps back, just before I can hit. 
Arms wrap around my neck before I can process anything else- the strong grip from Captain catching me off guard. I try to pry him off of me, leaning my head down and without a second thought I bite him as hard as I can.
With a yelp, he pulls back. 
Blue fog surrounds me before I’m suddenly behind him, swinging my fist so it collided with the back of his head. He stumbles, holding the spot where I hit.
“He bit me!” He yells.
“You strangled me.”
With a groan, and the roll of her eyes, Natasha pounces on me again.
There’s struggling as she pushes my body backwards, but I continue to fight back until she suddenly backs away from me.
Confused, I step towards her. But her foot comes at me quicker than I can comprehend.
Next thing I know, my head collides with the strong metal of a shield. Fuck.
“Good work.” I hear faintly, as I’m stumbling to the floor. 
Words morph from Natasha’s mouth, but everything goes black before I can hear anything else.

“What are we gonna do with him?” 
Natasha stands across from the glass jail, circular in the center of the room. A bit dehumanizing, really, like some sort of exhibit. My unconscious body is still slumped on the floor, next to the one chair inside the cell. 
“Better yet- where did you get him?”
Thor asks, standing next to Bruce, Steve and Clint. His strong arms are crossed over his chest, and he’s looking around waiting for an answer.
“We think he’ll be useful in the plan against Thanos.” Tony answers, far too nonchalant for the situation, “he might be looking for the same stones we are.” He spins around in his chair, back now facing the computer he was just looking at to look at his teammates. A sound close to a scoff comes from Thor.
“You know that’s my nephew, right?” He points to my body, “unconscious in your little glass cage?” 
Tony rolls his eyes, rolls his head to the side. “I am well aware, Thor.”
“Wait, hold on-“ Bruce speaks up, processing far slower than Tony would like, “so we just kidnapped him? That was the plan?”
Natasha clicks her tongue. “Pretty much…”
“And are-“
Small plastic wheels scrape the floor as Tony abruptly stands up. So impatient, he claps his hands together to grab everyone’s attention.
“Glad we’ve established the obvious, how about we let me talk now.”
Thor immediately brushes him off- much to Tony’s annoyance. The muscular man steps forward and raises an eyebrow at the shorter man, who looks up at him with disinterest through the thick frames of his glasses. 
“What does Y/n have to do with any of this?” He asks with crossed arms. Tony sighs. 
“He recently stole this from some small town in the west,” Tony hands the blonde man a picture of the necklace, “looks important, part of a plan. We think he’ll be a good weapon against Thanos, and it’s a good excuse to see what’s up with the necklace.”
Thor examines the picture, eyes flickering to the glass occasionally. It still feels a bit absurd, though. 
“You really think he’s up to something big, huh.”
“I mean, I wouldn’t exactly be surprised.” Everyone’s gazes turn to Clint, “he is Loki’s kid, isn’t he?”
Thor doesn’t respond, he doesn’t have to because Tony is talking once more.
“Oh he’s Loki’s kid, alright.” He says.
“So, how do we plan to get him in on this, exactly?” Steve finally steps in.
It goes quiet, for a second, though the awkward glances are quite loud. 
“…I mean…we could get Loki in on this too.” Bruce answers after too long of a pause. Immediately, Thor shakes his head with a mighty laugh. 
“Oh no, no we aren’t doing that.” 
“That would work.” 
The blonde man snaps his head over to Tony. 
“Uh, no. Believe me, it wouldn’t.”
But he is once again ignored, instead walking away from the room and leaving the rest of the curious Avengers behind. But Thor follows. 
“Stark!” He shouts, following him out and down the hallway despite the sigh that he is met with.
“What, Thor.”
“You will not bring Loki here.” He says firmly, even if the words don’t make it through the stubbornness of Tony’s brain.
“And why’s that?”
“It’s a horrible idea-“
“You got a better one?”
Becoming exasperated, Thor throws his hands up before the drop to his sides. “I’ll do it, I’ll convince him.”
Tony scoffs. “Right, cause you’re so good at that.” He goes to walk away again, but still, Thor persists.
“It won’t work if Loki tries-“
“How do you know? Hmm?” Tony gives Thor a look, something so knowing that it frustrates Thor to no end, “when was the last time you talked to Y/n? Or Loki, for that matter?”
He wasn’t going to get anywhere with this. Tony’s too stubborn, too head strong to negotiate right now. So, Thor only shakes his head. 
“Fine, do it your way, you’ll see.”
“That we will.”

By the time I’ve woken up, it’s far later in the afternoon. 
I try to sit up, head throbbing from the start of a migraine, when I realize I have no clue where I am. 
The edges of my vision blur together while I stumble up, so dizzying I nearly have to sit down again. Below me, my knees feel weak, like they could give out at any moment. But I stand anyways, stand and wait for the feeling in my muscles and bones to come back to me.
“Well, look who’s awake.” 
I whirl around, just close enough to knocking myself out again, and watch the figure outside of this…glass wall, stand up.
“Stark,” I mumble, rubbing the sore spot on my head, “should’ve known it’d be Stark.”
“Good morning to you too, Y/n.” 
I turn to see Natasha once more, how familiar. She’s leaning against one of the desks, and next to her are Bruce, Steve and Thor. I raise an eyebrow.
“Thor.”
He just nods awkwardly. “Hi Y/n.”
I look around, spinning, and chuckle. “Really brought in the whole gang, huh?” 
On the other side of the glass, Tony takes off his glasses to wipe at the lenses carefully. He looks uninterested as usual. 
Someone tries to talk to me again, but I’m already feeling the sparks of blue on my skin once more. 
“Uh, hey-“
“He’ll be fine.”
My head bangs against glass, and I’m sent back stumbling.
“What the fuck-“ My hand flies to my forehead, where I can already feel a bruise forming.
“The glass is a strong barrier,” Steve winks, “can’t get out.”
His cocky gaze makes me uncomfortable, but I should’ve known it wouldn’t be so easy. Nothing here ever is. 
I scoff, clicking my tongue. “Do you treat all your hostages like circus monkeys or am I just special?” 
“I’ll let you decide on that one.” Tony replies, settling his glasses back onto his face. “Now let’s get down to business.”
The room, now that I get a decent look at it, is pretty artificial. A large computer, followed by a smaller computer, scattered paperwork, a few glasses stained with the remnants of alcohol. Just about what I’d expect.
My uncle is sitting back, next to Banner, his big arms crossed against his chest. He doesn’t look as calm or boastful as usual, instead glancing at the large doors. I furrow my eyebrows, following his gaze, but no one is there.
“We know you’re planning something.”
My eyes flicker to Steve, meeting his expectant gaze. I raise an eyebrow at him mockingly.
“Oh? Well that’s wonderful, though I thought I was quite obvious.”
Steve rolls his eyes, not amused. “Yeah, well, we are too,” he takes a step closer to me, “and we want you to be a part of it.”
I pause.
Visibly processing, it takes me a minute.
“…what?”
“I saw your little necklace heist the other day, since you’re so good at stealing think you could steal some stones for us?” Tony cuts in, raising an eyebrow at me. 
“You want me to steal stuff for you.”
“Well, and other stuff.” Bruce shrugs. He flinches away from my deadpan.
With the click of my tongue, rubbing my face, I turn back. “And why would I do that?”
Tony shrugs this time, “you might be interested to know we also are recruiting someone else.” 
I raise my eyebrow. “And who would that be?”
He doesn’t say the name, just gives me a look and by the glint his eyes I can’t tell if that’s better or worse. A voice suddenly sounds out from the doorway. 
“I’m going- good god I’m going, no need to shove-“ 
No.
I snap my head to the door. 
They’re joking.
The tall, unfortunately familiar figure of my father walks in. He looks almost the exact same.
Big gold thorns stick out from his helmet, a green robe on. When he turns to see me, I see his expression falter. For a second, he even looks nervous.
My eyes dart to Thor’s, who looks at me apologetically and shrugs. Then I look at Tony, eyes going cold. 
“If you wanted to persuade me to do something, Stark, he’s the last person you should’ve brought.”
I can see Thor out of the corner of my eye, how he’s looking between me and my dad, waiting for something to happen. But I refuse to look at Loki himself, even as he awkwardly sighs.
“Y/n.” He says, but I don’t respond.
“…what’s happening here.” Tony too, is looking between the two of us curiously.
“Should we leave?“ Bruce gets cut off by Thor. 
“I told you, Stark-“
There’s so much noise, so many voices, i squeeze my eyes shut to block them out. Why would they bring him here? Whose damn idea was this?
My fingers prod the skin over my temples, trying to clear my head, to think. Which, feels much harder since that blow to Captain’s shield over there. I wish I could make them feel like white noise against my ears.
Something someone says, who I assume is Banner or Natasha, catches my attention though. 
“I say we leave them alone for a bit, how about that.”
“Yeah I don’t want to have to watch this anymore.”
I’m realizing now their presence is better than the sole company of my father. 
“Wait-“ I turn around, them filing out of the doorway, “Thor.”
He doesn’t look at me, instead leans over and whispers something to Loki that I can’t hear. “Thor!” 
And, he’s gone.
An uncomfortable silence suddenly takes over the room, and I feel pressured to turn away. He clears his throat behind me, and then to my dismay, he talks.
“Y/n.”
I say nothing, and he sort of scoffs.
“Ah, the silent treatment, right.”
A quick breath escapes in disbelief, my anger is rising too quickly. I turn to him halfway, “would you rather I talk? Cause I don’t think you’ll like what I have to say much more.”
I can’t tell if he rolls his eyes or not. 
“Can we at least talk?” He asks next, and I start to feel the dents in my palm as my fingers clench tighter.
“Fine, do it.”
He didn’t seem to have expected that answer, because he takes a moment to continue. 
“Well, I…” he pauses, “well what do you want me to say?”
My lips fall in disbelief, and I look at him with a pinched expression.
“Are you serious?”
The internal battle of his brain becomes visible as his gaze darts away from mine, struggling for words. 
“Look, I know I wasn’t really there,”
“No really? I think I saw you more on tv than I ever did at home.” I say hoarsely.
“I, I was busy-“ he breathes out pathetically, each croak of his voice irking me. 
Locked in this, what is this, a cell? A cage? Put on display in front of the man I shame the thought of. I run my hands down my face, barely able to look at him. 
“Yeah, real busy running the world right?”
“What’s that supposed to mean.”
“Well wasn’t that your end goal? Rule the world?” His shoulders recoil from my words, “become the most powerful god there is, right?” I look at him with exhausted, yet knowing eyes. I can tell by his silence, his face, he knows I’m right. I scoff and turn away, there’s no point in this anymore.
Moments of silence pass, I can still feel his presence behind me, looming like a shadow. By the time he speaks again, his voice has changed- more cautious, more delicate.
“I never thought I was cut out to be a father.”
And god that hurt, more than I’d care to admit. So I stay quiet.
“Thor was always the favorite,” he continues with a shaky laugh, “and he wasn’t even my real brother. So…”
The breathes he takes are louder, slower. 
“I’ve never really known how to, y’know, do that.”
I feel myself turning closer and closer to him, feeling the words he wants to say sting my tongue. 
“…have a family?”
“…yeah.”
His eyes have softened, pupils small like a speck against his iris. His throat strains against his skin, swallowing the lump in his throat to will himself to keep going now that he’s started.
“I should’ve been there.”
I know.
“But I wasn’t…and I should’ve been.” One pale hand pulls the helmet out of his messy hair, dropping to his side. The gold lightly smacks his thigh, yet his eyes never stray.
“My father wasn’t, and I wasn’t, and now…”
I finish the sentence for him.
“And now I’m just like you.”
My voice breaks as I say it, and part of my heart does too. 
“Which, no one deserves.” He laughs, but when I turn and watch his face I see the redness in his eyes, and the shakiness behind his smile as well as how it falters when he sees my own red eyes.
“I’ll fix it.” He almost whispers, voice brittle, “or I’ll try to, at least.”
And it’s not until now that I realize, that I know, I want to. 
My voice is too numb to speak, so I just nod tearfully. He swallows again. 
His eyes flicker to a panel just outside of the glass, and he reaches for it. I don’t have time to question before the glass doors are opening in front of me. 
He doesn’t say anything as I step out, and instead he hugs me.
I also realize I haven’t been hugged in a very long time. 
“I’ll do everything I can, Y/n.” Is what he says to me, voice hoarse against my ear and I hug him back with the strength I have.
“You better.” I mutter back, I can’t forgive him now, but with the warmth of his hold, I pray we’re both right.

Happy Saturday Fandom :) This ep is solid gold. We see how Lucy takes care of Tim in her own way in this one. How pranking is one of their natural love languages. The continuous pining era continues on. It’s pretty damn glorious. Let’s get going shall we?
5x06 The Reckoning

We start off with Aaron and Tim. The more we get these two more I love it. Aaron asking Tim if he should be working? Didn’t he just have surgery? Tim deflects and says it was only an old bullet. Mmhmm. Aaron really jumps in after that. Says he heard him talking to Ashley about him grabbing rest of his stuff.... The balls on him LOL Tim straight up walks away from his ass before he can speak more. It’s so funny. Lucy can immediately see how grumpy Tim is as he approaches her.
She stops him and gets him to say good morning. Your girl won’t be ignored Timothy haha Also seeing her and Chris laughing no doubt added to his grumpy fire. He was trying to avoid it all together. Sadly your wife will not allow this. Tim is as civil as he can muster up. Not wanting to say or do more. Truly doesn't want to be around the clown.
So after his pleasantries he takes back off. Leaving Lucy stunned in his wake. She immediately looks to Aaron. Who says too much and yet not enough for her. Lucy is reaching for more but Aaron isn’t stupid. He stumbles around and tries to get away ASAP. Fearing he’s said too much as it is. The fear Tim has instilled in him is hilarious. Lucy is left wondering what the hell is going on with her best friend?

Aaron tries to get Tim talk again. Idk why he thinks he would truly I don't. lol He flames out pretty quickly with the idea. It's a swing and a miss good sir. Only one who gets that is currently not in this shop. They stop to help this director with a prop that fell out. Aaron tries to lift it solo to impress this girl. He fails so badly. Tim has to be tagged in to help him. This is where the premise of this episode begins.
Tim placing his radio down in her truck bed to help. Their hilarious banter kills me while they lift it up. My god it’s amazing Tim doesn’t kill Aaron regularly LOL Poor Tim looks wiped by the time they’re done loading it back up. He has to take a call while Aaron fails miserably at hitting on her. It’s so funny I’m cackling. They get called away while the director takes off with Tim’s radio...

The director finds Lucy of all people to return the radio to. What cracks me up the most is the director's confusion from Lucy's excitement LOL All she wants to do is the right thing with it and get it back to Tim. Here's Lucy 0-60 explosion of happiness with how delighted she is he forgot it. This scene is so great for a couple reasons. First off her calling Tim 'Broody.' I’m dying. I mean he can be pretty broody especially right now. It just kills me that’s how she referred to Tim. Second she seems so confused by Lucy’s excitement.
She starts going off about how Tim is a super cop. How he’s never once let her forget about being late to roll call one time. Asking her 'Can you believe that?' This girl is like ‘Ok….’ She just wanted to drop off a radio LMFAO. Even says ‘You’ll give it to him right? ‘Wondering if Lucy will given how giddy she is about him losing it. Lucy promises her she will…but she just gave her a Christmas present ha Not a good day unless she can mess with her soulmate.
Lucy is about to tell him when we see a look of realization dawn over her. Now we know she knows something is wrong with Tim. For him to forget his radio is a sin he would’ve blasted her to the wall for. She knows he’s off. Just doesn’t know why. Teasing/pranking is one of their love languages. Which is why she chooses this path with his radio going forward. So married even when they aren’t even sharing scenes.

We return to Tim and Aaron ripping apart their shop for his radio. Tim is frantic as he searches for it. Says he’s going to check their kit bag again. It then hits him that the lady they helped has it. Tim knows Aaron was trying to hit on her while he was on the phone. What Tim didn’t see was Aaron absolutely crash and burn with his lines.
So Tim asks if he got her number? Aaron KILLS me with his answer. He seems so cocky with his 'Almost.' I’m rolling. Tim’s reaction is the best part. Like what the hell am I going to do with that info? It’s completely useless and helps him in no way. Their dynamic is hysterical. I don’t know pre-Lucy Tim could’ve handled Aaron the way present day Tim does. lmao

Tim’s phone goes off. It’s someone texting him about his radio. He is so very confused what's happening. Also very agitated they're holding it hostage. Aaron asks who it is? Tim doesn’t know but says they’re in a lot of trouble. Aaron being his rookie self just says to do an incident report. Tim tells him why he can’t do that. I mean a day of suspension for a Sergeant isn't a good look...So I don't blame him for wanting to hunt it down instead. Tim zooms in and say that he knows where this is. So the race begins to find his stolen radio.

The guys arrive at a coffee truck. Aaron making a comment it looks sketchy af LOL Tim defends it saying this is where he gets his coffee every morning. Goes on a mini rant about screen writers and oak milk mafia. I love this man so much. His dislike of screenwriter continues and it's so funny. Aaron saying that line I love so much. That I have used couple times in previous reviews. Telling him he’s like the old dude from UP. I mean he is. haha But we love him just the same.
He asks the owner if she’s seen his radio? She tells him no. It’s then he gets another text of his radio on a studio lot. Aaron is so confused why this is happening. Saying they haven’t asked for money or anything. They could be doing anything with that radio but not this. Tim says he’s not sure but they’re gonna find out.
They make it the studio lot fairly quickly. They find out it’s where Tim’s fav movie was filmed. Aaron starts to put it together little more. Saying first his fav coffee place then his fav movie. Whoever this is texting him knows him really well. It’s then it hits Tim. it’s Lucy. Ain’t no one knows that man better than her. He knows it too. Who else would know about his elitist black coffee spot, favorite movie and the lot it was filmed on? His wife heh.

We get our first real scene of the episode and it’s glorious. They’re about as married as it gets in this scene. I love how post 5x05 they’re back to being flirty and playful. The teasing is top notch in this scene. Tim asks her right off the bat where his radio is? Lucy plays dumb and says maybe a vengeful spirit took it. It is Halloween after all. Tim doesn’t give into her teasing at first. Ask's why she’s doing this? He's SO grumpy Lordy lord. Good thing Lucy is well versed in all things Tim Bradford.
This doesn't phase her in the least. She charges forward with her plan. Continuing to play dumb and says she doesn’t know what he’s talking about… The sarcastic banter really picks up above. He asks if she’s doing this because he was tough on her as a rookie? I mean that could be one reason haha But that isn't THE reason Tim. Lucy is armed with sass and maximum level teasing with her reply ‘We’re you? Gosh, I hadn’t noticed…’
Lucy throws out her bait waiting for him to take a bite. Hoping he does so. Wrapping her concern into some playful banter. Thinking if she offers up her 'help.' He will crack and tell her what's going on with him. Tim holds steady and is just as sassy in his reply. Telling her there is nothing going on with him. Ok Tim....it's not like you're talking to the one person who knows you best or anything...

Lucy drops the playful banter and gets real with him. We can hear the concern in her voice. Especially the way she says 'Are you okay?' She is truly worried about him. She can't stand him being upset and her not knowing why. We do see him soften when she shows that concern for him. His words are saying one thing but his face is saying another. Look at that man above. All soft looks and heart eyes for her asking. For caring.
Despite the sweet look above he is is deflection nation with Lucy in his reply. Come on Timothy of all the people to do this to she is not the one. Can read you like a damn book blind if she had to. The thing to note here is the amount of feelings being shown here. Goodness these two are so damn loud with their feelings. In the middle of the bloody precinct no less. Which has been a thing for them since S4 really. No one could've been shocked they ended up together. If they were they clearly weren't paying attention ha

All Lucy wants to do is fix it for him. It's her natural instinct to do so. But the problem is Tim isn't sharing the problem so she can do this for him. He is being SO stubborn. She truly doesn't understand why he's being this obstinate. The best part of the scene is Lucy legit stomping off in frustration. Can't stand anymore of his games and takes off.
She is so damn mad he won’t just share with her. Share with your wife Timothy. His reaction kills me as well. Eric crushes it with the facial expressions. It's so friggin funny. Tim is just as exasperated with her and she is with him. Gah these two idiots in love. Acting like an old married couple in public. Lucy keeping his damn radio if he’s going to be a stubborn ass LOL I’m dying this scene is masterful.

Lucy comes up to Aaron again seeing if he knows anything. He tells her Tim is just upset about his radio. Lucy offers up she will give him the radio if he just spills it. Aaron holds strong and says he doesn’t know. Tim bypasses her on the way to the shop. Lucy’s sass is fantastic ‘Hi. Good morning.’ Mirroring the one at the beginning of the episode.
Like excuse me hubby you can’t just ignore me and not say hello. Lucy asks the question she already knows the answer to about his radio. Tim tells her it’s in the shop. We hear a call go off for a supervisor. Tim reaches in and grabs this gigantic radio answering dispatch back. Oh Tim...
Lucy’s face is hilarious. Trying not to laugh at his stubborn dumbass. All she wanted you to do was talk my love. Not like you haven't done that before. Now you’ve forced her hand in this prank war LOL Tim is trying so hard to save face with his ‘This is it.’ Lucy giving him crap that hasn’t been standard since the 60s. Tim ignores her and tells Aaron to roll.

Lucy can’t help herself and wants a picture of him with it. I love how cute she is. Tim ignores her and rolls up his window. Her reaction to him shutting window it's so funny. I mean look at HER FACE in that second gif. Like she wasn’t going to think of something to get him to use it. To get back at him for doing that. He brought this on himself. You can’t play these games and expect to win Tim haha
Such a wifey in this moment wanting a pic. I’m laughing so hard about this scene. Lucy tells him to do a radio check. That way she can get her damn pic. Tim’s face is so very over it. I’ve said this many times before. This is the woman you’ve chosen to love Tim LOL Her unbridled joy at thinking of this is so precious. Enjoying her damn self torturing him till he finally fesses up. Can you imagine the camera roll on both of these goobs phones? Probably a plethora of these types of moments. If looks could kill in that 4th gif. Good thing she's immune.

We catch our lovely duo at the end of shift. Lucy comes up with his radio. Hands it back to him. I love how both hold onto it longer than necessary. The symbolism with the radio was seen writers I see you. It was their way of keeping them connected through out this episode. Lucy’s way of staying connected with him. Doing her best to try and distract him. Take care of him in her own way through this prank. One of their love languages whether they admit it or not.
She didn't even know what was wrong but knew she needed to do something for him. Lucy telling him she thought it would be more fun to torture him. Help distract him from whatever he’s going through right now. Wanted to help him get his mind off of whatever is bothering him. Comments she should know better than to get into his personal business... Gah look at the way that man looks at her after she says that. To paraphrase Chandler Bing 'Could he be anymore in love with her?’ You are his personal business Lucy Chen.
All that’s been running around in his mind since you kissed him in 4x22. Tell me you’re in love without saying you are. That’s both of them in this scene. Especially our boy. Tim see's what she did for him. He can’t let her walk away without explaining. This is such growth for him. Look at this man sharing why he’s upset with her. Being truthful and honest about what happened. Lucy’s ‘I’m sorry.’ I truly think she is sorry for him but not for the situation. Inside I’m sure she’s doing victory dance of epic proportions.

He then does Lucy one more solid. Tells her he appreciates her radio gag. That it did help take his mind off things. I love this sfm. Not only has this man shared his feelings with her he then does this. My damn heart. Being so vulnerable in this moment with her. If you don’t see the growth that is this moment for Tim you haven’t been paying attention. I’m so proud of him. Look how far he's come. All because of that beautiful human in front of him. Beautiful inside and out. The impact she has had on this man is unreal.
Also It’s heart eyes nation out here and we’re all here for it. I mean she pranked him so he would feel better. And then he did. That’s love people. Also so very on brand for them it’s insane. Another thing I adore is he is going out of his comfort zone. All to thank her for what she did for him. Not just be annoyed but thank her. 'Started from the bottom now were here.' Oh my lord the growth. Let's not bypass the affectionate stares Lucy is throwing his way as well. This is a two way street of heart eyes and affection in this moment.

The way he looks at her when after she says ‘Well, good.’ Look at that man above. Might as well be a billboard that screams ‘Tim Bradford is hopelessly in love with Lucy Chen.’ Also my god he looked delicious as hell in that shirt. Dark blue does him wonders mmm. That’s my fav color with my fav human. Double yum. Plus biceps on display. Sinfully delicious this man.
Anyways heh There is so much left unsaid and tension between them. You can see it above. There is more Tim wants to say. It reminds me of their parking lot chat in 4x22. Where Lucy is holding her breath as she waits for it. Tim trying to build up the courage to say it. Before he can the clown walks over. Having no idea what he’s just walked into.

Chris comes barreling in like an idiot. Or maybe for once he senses something. But that might be giving him too much credit. Lucy asking if Tim wants to join them? I mean that sounds like legit hell to Tim. He understands her motives though. Maybe if it was just her….Tim does his patented fake Sanford smile. The one where it doesn’t really touch his eyes.
He’s just uncomfortable and wants to go. Look at his body language all he wants to do is flee. He declines and tells them to have fun. You can see Chris's face is slightly confused when Lucy offers this. Like why are you offering for your boss to join us? Cause she's in love with him but you're not gonna put that together. What a ignorant putz lol

We talk about the pinning era in this first half a lot. This one moment is the most epic of the pinning. Tim Bradford is legit LONGING for Lucy out in the open. How he blatantly turns back to watch them go. My poor heartbroken man. The way he drops his arm in defeat. Frustrated she’s with Chris and not him. Gah it's so good. Tim looking devastated she’s with the clown. That he has to go home alone without her. That mistake from 4x12 coming back to haunt him in this moment. Watching as they leave with deep longing and want in his eyes for her. He sighs and climbs into his truck.

Both of their looks are saying so much in this moment. This is what I mean by angsty goodness. Hurts so good to watch these kind of scenes. Lucy sensing his eyes on her and looks right back. The game has changed for her now he’s not with Ashley. It shows as she gazes back at Tim. She's supposed to be present with the clown...but her look indicates she is anything but that. Lucy is back at that truck mentally with Tim as she returns that look. She is throwing out just as much love and longing as Tim is in these looks of theirs. She is feeling what he is throwing down and feels the pull to him. Damn good ep good I love the pining era. It’s *chef kiss*
