ohhh, this one's easy. I've been in this fandom on and off since 2006, and seen how Harry, Albus and Gellert were written pre- and post-'Dumbledore closet interview'. cracks knuckles

got to hit you with that readmore though. and it's going to be in two parts. I rambled again. ^^

the tl;dr of the below is the following sentences, and then I'll get into it. My philosophy on gr*ndeld*re extends to all other ships in all other fandoms, especially HP: if it's not an AU and you have to excessively mischaracterize Character A to get them to 'fit' with Character B, then it's not a good ship, canon or not. Albus Dumbledore is quite often mischaracterized in order to 'fit' or 'keep' him with Gellert Grindelwald.

here's my problems with how gr*ndeld*re is most often portrayed:

Inconsistency within canon. JKR is partly mostly to blame for this (because she has contradicted her original 2007 statement in the present day with more interviews in the 2010s and with the Fantastic Beasts movies), but the first problem is: gr*ndeld*re was originally an unrequited ship. The original statement was that Albus was dazzled by Gellert's power, his presence, their similarities, their shared ideals... but That Woman wasn't explicit on whether Gellert ever returned his feelings. But based on her quotes where she says "falling in love can blind you to an extent" and that [Dumbledore] was "terribly, terribly let down" by the result of that whirlwind relationship, I think it's safe to assume that her original idea of Gellert cared far more for seeing his grander plans realized than for the needs and feelings of his 'equal'. And yet... in fandom, they are most often portrayed instead as star-crossed lovers torn apart by 'conflicting ideals'.

The second problem is that in the avalanche of fics and art that have come from The Reveal, the original lesson (/moral...?) behind the reveal of gr*ndeld*re, and how it shaped Albus as an adult, leader, and progressive, just... got lost. Completely lost. The whole point of it was to show that even Albus (supposed 'paragon of goodness' until book 7 showed the fandom that he is a regular human being) can make 'relatable' mistakes like... you know... being friends with a fascist. Being in love with a fascist, even. Thanks to said retcon interviews and the new movies (and even before that tbh) the fandom has since: overexaggerated Albus' new clay feet to the point of bashing him, idolized Grindelwald's red flag traits and ideals to the point where he has become the new "Tom Riddle was just misunderstood!" guy, and twisted that lesson/moral/whatever to mean that actually Albus and Gellert were tragically kept away from each other by an itsy bitsy little difference of opinion. A minor little fight. Casual death of your sick sister. Haven't we all been there?

The fandom diminishing the real reasons why Albus and Gellert eventually clashed, were destined to clash, is bad enough. What's worse is the opposite end. Some Dumbledore-bashing fans go the other way and paint present-day Dumbledore with the same brush as Grindelwald, even going so far as to say he still supports The Greater Good even though his entire character is literally built on being the opposite of the pro-magic, anti-Muggle philosophy. Albus has also been painted in some fics and even meta discussions as someone who 'regrets' his past not because his sister died and his brother is estranged from him, but just because his ex-boyfriend is in prison and he maybe kind of regrets not going full fascist with him. Like... bruh. NO. There are people who ship gr*ndeld*re just because they feel like Grindelwald, the worst dark wizard in the world, the reason why Voldemort is only a minor league little lord in comparison, is an appropriate "punishment" for the character they already dislike and thus misinterpret. (Side note: I'm not sure if I'm in a worse hell watching Albus' character get whitewashed for fascism or demonized so he can be a miserable lonely gay.)

Albus diminishes himself to meet Gellert's needs. An in-universe problem this time instead of a meta/RL one: Albus and Gellert were lovers, yes, but in order to be so, Albus had to actively start neglecting his siblings (since in Aberforth's words he was 'doing all right' taking care of them before Gellert showed up) and leaning more into anti-Muggle sentiment. He put all his energy into what for most of the magical world was a wild goose chase after some fairy-tale items. (Remember, most wixen don't give a shit about the Deathly Hallows, or think they're even real.) He became the person Gellert needed/desired most. Albus became a version of himself that he despised later in his life and after his death.

Relationships often include the members changing, and it's easy for even the most devoted partners to fall out of love if they change and are now too different from one another, or one person changes and the other... doesn't. After Ariana died, Albus chose to become a different person and champion the same people he and his family once despised. He chose to stay away from Gellert, whether he called it cowardice or principles or whatever else. And his choice put him in conflict with Gellert, who at sixteen refused to change course or rethink his ideals even when his choices led to the death of a magical person (the type of person he supposedly prizes above all others). His magical boyfriend's magical sister, even. And we see no sign that Gellert changed, repented, or considered Albus until decades later, at the very end of his life—far too late.

Healthy relationships require give-and-take, sacrificing for your partner in things big and small. For high-stakes relationships like Albus and Gellert's (queer in the 1800s, sweet Merlin), that is even more true. During that steamy summer of 1899, it was Albus who did all the sacrifcing/giving and Gellert who did all the taking. Gellert may have entertained the idea of bringing Ariana along on his quest with Albus (we don't know), but Aberforth was right to say that it would have been torture for her—and no alternate idea was brought up that would prioritize the wellbeing of Albus' siblings while he was away. And in the moment of required reciprocity when Albus was at his lowest, Gellert left him behind and went off to go rule the world. Not even the most diehard shipper can argue against the fact that when Ariana died, Grindelwald left.

This problem is even more personal/biased than the other ones. Albus and Gellert parted ways in 1899. They didn't see each other again until the duel in 1945 (because fuck Fantastic Beasts, the scripts don't even make fucking sense). Albus defeated Gellert, put him in prison, and then went on living for another fifty-two years. And That Woman expects me to believe that Albus never had a relationship with anyone before Gellert, and never even looked at another wizard afterward? In 52 years, he was one-and-done? He never once fell in love with other people, whether or not he fully trusted them/let them in? Be serious. Pull the other one. It's not realistic, and it doesn't speak to the kind of man Albus Dumbledore is. He may not have found a man to check the same boxes Gellert did, but he wouldn't arguably be looking for someone too similar to his old flame. He might not trust them unconditionally or be the Perfect Partner for them (bc whew traumaaa), but there would be other people for Albus in a realistic Magical Britain (even discounting time travel shenanigans). Before the reveal, the most popular people to ship Albus with were Minerva, Alastor, and Elphias Doge; these options are still arguably more valid. Albus Dumbledore loves love, he champions love, and he doesn't think he deserves it after his sins, but that doesn't mean he wouldn't go looking. It's mind-boggling to me that with all the well-deserved disavowing of JKR following her anti-trans hate (and her shameless pandering to the same people calling her a witch poisoning their children's minds decades ago), that some people still treat her words about Albus and Gellert's relationship and its effects on Albus in particular as gospel. I sure don't. (Especially because she said he became "asexual" after His One Gay Experience when like. That's not. What asexuality is??? And ace gay people exist???) Whether you count the FB movies or not, there are still decades of Albus' life that are a mystery, and I refuse to believe he closed his heart and caged his dick for all of them.

IMPORTANT END NOTE: These observations obviously do not apply to all gr*ndeld*re shippers. Some people genuinely do like both characters, characterize them correctly, and still want to see them together for reasons. I'm not going to judge them. I ship a frigging time travel age gap ship, how the fuck could I. And I'm also aware that a lot of fics/art are made to color in between the lines of what we don't know in the fandom, bringing Albus and Gellert together during the mystery years, or making one wizard better for the other to address all the ship baggage. I just can't join them because of how rarely that occurs (and, admittedly, how much I personally can't see it). You would not believe how many fics and discussions I've seen that lionize Grindelwald and treat Dumbledore like an accessory, or completely mischaracterize Albus' motivations, intentions, and actions, and then put him with "the other Big Bad". UGH.

Most of the time, I see gr*ndeld*re the ship hurting Albus the individual. It's very rare to find an iteration where Albus is not bearing the consequences of Gellert's choices, Gellert's actions, Gellert's mistakes and harm done. I think Albus deserves better than to be Gellert's accessory just because he loved him deeply long ago.

clone high final episode spoilers below! (9 n 10)

holy fuck im so happy. even though im super annoyed how they keep throwing a bunch of really good ideas for relationships and plot in the trash- im just so happy with what we got.

OK FIRST EPISODE 9??? THE ANIMATION WAS SO FUCKING GOOD AND I HAD TO PAUSE BECAUSE WHEN WESLEY WAS FLAILING IN THE SEA, IT WAS DAMN smooth and pleasant to watch, as morbid as it sounds lol. that whole scene with the comic-esque vibe was so so pleasing.

and that whole episode was super like, sad but funny. i literally stood up and yelled when Mr. B was getting near the edge. like i probably woke up every single one of my neighbors in like.. a 50 mile radius it was that bad im so fucking annoying about this show.

BUT THEN SCUDS SAVED HIM AND I WAS SO HAPPY, LIKE THEYRE LITERALLY AN OLD COUPLE, AND LITERALLY THEY’RE FATHERS TO THEIR CLONE KIDS AND THEYRE ALL SUCH A BIG HAPPY FAMILY AND AUGHHHH im gonna draw family stuff with them so bad. I WISH THESE EPISODES CAME OUT BEFORE FATHERS DAY IT WOULD’VE BEEN PERFECT.

ok, episode 10 i have to take a deep breath with. i am VERY happy. and idk if it was because the bar was so low, or if it was because i was so anxious i was vomiting everywhere because i needed content so bad, but i am overjoyed.

YEAH. oh and tophers there too. i like how they treat topher tbh. like hes just there until he says something out of pocket and they’re just like stfu.

but with the girls friend group.. oof. i honestly loved them so much, especially with cleo, but NOW ITS FUCKED. and its not even joans fault tbh. like when i was watching the scene where frida dropped joan i was like “damn” but then, JOAN MENTIONS HOW SHE HELPED EVERYONE BEFORE AND I WAS LIKE “DAYYYYYYUUMMMM UR RIGHT” so now im conflicted. But again like??? bruh i would choose cleo too tbh lmao.

Also, i’m glad clone college isn’t real. because jfk mentions about taking shelly to .. biology? which i think is a only 1st year class. and in the original clone high everyone is like “omg u hit puberty over summer” Which i feel is typically something thats potrayed in media AFTER middle school. but i could be wrong so, idk. just really glad they didn’t do the clone college bc i hate change. also theyre 16 lmao. OR MAYBE THEY WERE JUST TALKING ABOUT... in the future when highschools done?? IDK. IDC.

anyway. im scared for joans friend group and i fucking love joan, and i am in love with abe, toph, jfk, and Confucius’s little bromances and augh. im so happy. and THE CLIFF HANGER WASN’T TERRIBLE ALSO, IN MY OPNINON.

im just glad joanabe wasn’t endgame. i mean, i would be pretty happy because im a sucker for childhood friends to lovers but also NOOOOOO joan deserves better. so. yeah 10/10

Honestly I can imagine that many people wouldn't visit belphie a second time. Like most of us probs only climbed that stairwell to A. Personally piss of lucifer or B. Try to find what hes hiding like baby pictures or something. But instead stumble onto belphie out here lying terribly like there isn't a picture of him in the house.

Now I love art so I would've looked at every frame hung on the walls in that house on day 1. But I just love the idea of interacting with him knowing full well he's lying.

Again, new to marauders. This fic 3 that I’ve read. Feel free to shoot me recs, currently looking for ~100,000 word fic with a good angst balance and no major character death.

Summary: Overall this story was INCREDIBLE. I loved the writing style, such a good amount of angst, and an easy to follow narrative. It raised Harry like exactly how I wanted and was so cutey and sweetly and UGH

SPOILERS BELOW BEWARE

Chapter one

I already like the opening quote. Can tell the writing is going to be good.

I kind of forgot just how much he lost that night, like all of his closest friends were dead. Even in canon, with no world star this probably sucks the worst for Lupin.

I’ve been wanting a babyfic since the first one I read

This is such a hard thing to do, parenting is hard without the trauma and sob storying

Chapter two

I wonder how they are going to reincorporate Sirius

And I’m concerned about Harry’s quietness, I feel like that’s not consistent with who he grows up to be

Hoping for some baby Ron and harry content eventually

I never give Kudos until the end of the fic, this is incredible and I absolutely adore it already

Chapter three

This is what I wanted, you see James and Lily in harry and remus is just thoughtful and reflective enough to show the audience the importance of this its just MWAH

Baby trauma. He’s so cute and being such a little bitch

Literally so sad, like remus is such a better parent than the Dursleys could ever be but him knowing what harry had makes it sad

Not to diminish the relationship, I think the way teenage girls evaluate breakups and romance is like peak human condition and is incredibly poignant amidst the issues of war and death and loss.

Chapter seven

Harry with his two dads that barely speak to each other

I do need reconciliation but making sure the weight of tragedy is like there also seems important

But also, please, just fuck already

Chapter ten

Yes I know I skipped 16 and 17 and I'm sorry.

Overall this story was INCREDIBLE. I loved the writing style, such a good amount of angst, and an easy to follow narrative. It raised Harry like exactly how I wanted and was so cutey and sweetly and UGH. I will say I wish there was more to the plot than “everyone is sad and trying to not be anymore”While that is a completely reasonable story, it does make it a little boring. But because this fic is fairly short it works out alright. My only true criticism is going to be on the pacing. I am not sure at all when Harry and Remus were introduced to each other, or how far after that Sirius came into their lives. I also think Harry and Sirius’ connection, while amazing, was a bit unrealistic at the beginning. For a child with this much past to IMMEDIATELY latch onto someone like this is kinda wild, but it works for the story so no big deal honestly. I think characterizations were good, not great. However, this is a situation we haven’t seen marauders in and I’m not super familiar with how marauders are usually characterized outside of reading the books and watching movies, so I’d reevaluate characterization stuff once im more engrossed in the fandom.

This is something I just thought about while adding tags, having moody in this fic was nice. He's a character I'd like to see more out of what I've read so far in marauders

Thinking about the fact last night I was working to get all the unlockable art of Sol...and I didn't choose the option to save him. and the moment I saw his hand injured, my heart dropped and I felt so terrible. lol

Like i wanted to just hold his injured hand and kiss it better(even tho i know that would do nothing) and apologize endlessly. But bruh...I felt something strong there. Like this need to protect him and love him with all my heart and soul.

But is it romantic love or what? lmao

Only time will tell.

Anyway. Time to watch some more MHA maybe.

In a resume: Because the fandom tired the shit out of me lol, a little bit of every thing you can think of, but what got me for reals i think was how... Weeeeird the fandom was to the characters which most are minors, either in general or straight up in my comments of my art lol maybe it still is like that idk I don't keep up with it anymore

Depends on which friends/associates. But probably not too terribly? Probably? Kenshi loves to drive, Kimi loves to ride. They'll trade aux/Bluetooth control. I guess everyone can say that he looks like a very tired person. Life isn't perfect for him, but he certainly doesn't complain about anything.

He has a family around him that he loves. All his relatives are the most important to him.

He will take care of them as much as possible. After all, apart from them, there are no other people who will like and love him. He will do what someone asks him to do. But of course he has his own mind and will not do anything that would have a bad effect on his loved ones.

I'm having an awful week.... So here's random facts about me and this beautiful fucking hoe of mine 😩😩:

Shorter and I would get so high or drunk off our faces, we end up slow dancing to upbeat club music at a rave party

Learnt to get around New York City because of him

Shorter does the cooking coz he can't stand bland boiled vegetables and meat... not my fault it's good for you SHEESH =3=

He likes my baking at least.. and he's suprised that it ain't bland XD

During art school, I couldn't stop drawing him. (Also true irl, I will admit. Except art school being in America. I never left this oversized island before XD) And honestly still can't stop.

We argue over which consoles better. He prefers Playstation while I prefer Xbox.... then Ash slam dunks us with PC having mods, 4K and more games. Like bruh.

I call his motorcycle Red Steed

Shorter chose the gamer tag "The BFG" Which I've mistaken for as "The Big Friendly Giant"... but he was referring to the weapon in DOOM 4/ Eternal "The Big Fucking Gun" And of course he changed it after that convo XDD

Out of all of Shorter's friends, I can't get along with Ash. Simply because every game he touches beats my high score and I have to spend all day and night trying to reclaim the dozens of high scores =-=

Shorter would definitely hate my dad, especially while my dad's drunk and wouldn't hesitate to beat his ass. And he doesn't need my permission to either. Someone needs to knock some sense into that fool when he gets like that.

I swear Shorter teaching me Chinese and making me say it after him is his plan to kill me with embarrassment. But he convinced me he's being genuine by letting me teach him Te Reo... now I understand why he likes making me nervous XDD

Ngl I love it when he's emotional or sensitive, its so fucking sweet

I've met Nadia and she's so fucking cool, I love it when she talks about every single embarrassing story she has of her brother.. but Shorter hates it. I play Fortnite and he hates seeing it on the TV almost every... Fortnite 👀 (bad pun ik XD)

Between me and Shorter, I'm mostly terrible to sleep with. I kneed him hard in the butt once in our sleep and now we have a pillow barrier between us.. still gotta get use to sharing a bed XD

I hate it when he watches me draw coz he knows I'm always drawing him

It was a surprise to me that he could do graffiti art and shamelessly flawless at it, but he has no idea why I'm making such a big deal out of it

I appreciate how he likes to talk about his culture, means he's closer to home than we think. Me? I rather be far from my home as possible tbh XD

If I had to explain how I fell for him, it was like a honey bee to a sweetpea... meaning his purple hair caught my attention like a colorful flower to a bee. And the flower turning out to be the sweetest of them all

Oh I love the manga version just as much, but he won't get my attention as easily no doubt, unless he approaches first, then hell yeah.

I never believed Shorter's his real name and he believes Nature isn't my name either XD

I can't remember (or haven't decided o3o) where our first kiss was but it was either at a party or at the old Freedom Tunnel

30. Talk to me about the role dreams play in your writing life. Have you ever used material from your dreams in your writing? Have you ever written in a dream? Did you remember it when you woke up?

My dreams are usually so boring, man. I just dream about whatever I do in daily life 80% of the time, and the rest are anxiety dreams/nightmares and Cool Stuff I Never Remember. When I write, dreams usually play the role of the POV character's subconscious fears or worries. I can't really recall a specific time I've directly used stuff from my dreams in my writing, but I do know that it's happened.

As for if I've written in a dream before... yes. Usually when I've been spending whole days writing and am anxious about it.

33. Do you practice any other art besides writing? Does that art ever tie into your writing, or is it entirely separate?

When I was a child I liked literally every kind of art. Yarn art, collage, sculpting, painting, drawing, etc. Singing and acting as well. I'm still really into singing and voice acting and drawing, but I don't get to do any of the other stuff anymore. Still got most of the supplies for it, though.

The only art form I've always been dreadful at is dance. I took jazz dance for 3 weeks when I was like 4 I think? I dropped out because I got so tired of doing the Macarena that I started making fun of it and all the other kids laughed so I thought I was a Comedian and kept being disruptive. Really my coordination is just garbage though dkfhdkfn

Bruh your explanations are all over the place. first you go out your way to tell ppl that they are entirely wrong in their understanding of belos (underneath someone's art work and completely unprompted let's not forget) and then you backtrack when people call you out by claiming you misworded things.

You misworded things but then u continued to reiterate the same 'misworded' defense of belos over and over again in several different replies? Several separate people explained to you how what you were saying wasn't right but you skipped over all of it just to claim that none of it matters in the first place because it's all fictional. And then you claim that you know Belos is a terrible person and that his actions can't be excused.. but then u go on to excuse him by saying that he was abused himself and that he's from the 1600s and doesn't know better?? Those are not explanations those are,, literally,, excuses,,

And then on here you say you see him as normal bc of your own experiences (which I'm sorry to hear) but honestly you are just backpedaling on everything you came in saying with such fervor in the first place. As you said, you're 18, you're old enough to own up to your own opinions that you willingly choose to put online. You should know that if you go out of your way to get someone's attention by replying to their artwork disagreeing with their drawing(?!) that you're going to get people going out of their way to explain to you why the concerning and inflammatory things you said are not okay.

I think you have far more awareness of the malice and danger behind characters like Belos than you act like you do, I think you just don't care. It is so beyond fine to stan a villain, so many people do it. Just, for the love of everything, own up to it! If you're gonna have an entire discord about loving a villain then at least,, admit that he's,, a villain. That means not erasing the parts of his character that you see as too cruel or unlikeable. Either you like him in all of his abusive and witch-hunting glory or you're trying to make something out of him that he's not. And if that's the way you want to play it then stop commenting on other people's creations that you don't even like in the first place.

I know hes a villian. just, like ive mentioned in the reply to my reply, I didnt know some of those things, WERE abuse. and i didnt mention the verbal abuse bc i thought it wouldnt be taken seriously/laughed off jsut like its been irl to me. the reason i "back pedaled" is bc thats how it was. i first tried to explain how i saw from ym pov of someone who had no clue how serious it was/that it was abuse. I explained that one or two of my replies had been pisworded, such as that hunter wasnt abused. what i meant was that we havent seen him be hit. still, an awful take and i'll admit to that. then when someone in teh quote retweets, the only person who wasnt laughing at me or insulting me, asked me if my family situation was ok, bc this stuff isnt ok, then after some talking i realised, that it wasnt just, hunter stans egaxxerating. This was another type of years of abuse that ive normalised. Similarly with hunter not being allowed of the tower. I wasnt allowed out of the hosue aside from school or unless i went shopping with my mom in my teen years. and i agree. it was shitty of me to reply abt their art. I was og just commenting about the like, title?? thingy? that went along with it. then i for some reason commented on teh art. which was very shitty of me to do. I know you said crushing stage, but. I feel the ROs' responses would change quite a bit in an established r'ship. Therefore, I have opted to go above and beyond (which is why the answer is so dang long, SORRY). Also terribly sorry that no numbers were involved xD

Sam

In crushing stage

This is something that Sam has gotten used to over the years.

It's a running joke by now that if Sam's within earshot and MC gives "the signal" (i.e. get me out of here), Sam'll come over and drape an arm around MC and say something along the lines of "hi honeyyybooobearsugargumdroppp" in the sickliest-sweet tone possible.

But... recently (though who knows how far back this goes 👀) Sam has begun to get an increasingly tight feeling in their chest whenever this happens.

At the start, they'll try their utmost best to be a good friend, stuff down these troublesome emotions, to "avoid making it weird". So they'd probably just go up and joke around with MC and the person, maybe even lightheartedly act as 'wing person'.

But as Sam's feelings for MC grow to a point where they can no longer ignore 'em, things might get to a point where MC'll see a funny expression come over their face, before they quietly excuse themselves and go do something else.

Maybe one day, when push comes to shove, angsty!sam might break through, and say something along the lines of: "I don't think I can do this anymore," voice cracking slightly, growing soft and quiet. "Do you know how many times I've watched you have feelings for someone else, when all I've ever wanted was for you to look at me like that?" They'll look away, and swallow thickly, before possibly walking away.

In an established relationship

Completely not jealous. Probably some variation of rushing in to whip out a ridiculous martial arts sequence, followed by weird dance moves, and finally a flourish and bow. "Yeah, bruh, you sure you wanna go up against this?!" They gesture to themselves, snorting. "Good fuckin' luck."

Tobin

In crushing stage

Tobin's too much of a gentleman/woman to be jealous during the crushing stage. But they'd 100% come over and throw their hat in the ring and out-flirt whoever the heck has the gumption to hit on MC while they're in earshot. Probably will make the poor person's flirting attempts look like a tissue paper sculpture next to Da Vinci's David.

Nothing beats the Harris trademark brand of suave charm and easy, winning confidence - not even G on a good day.

In an established relationship

Honestly, all Tobin has to do is amble over, all tall, effortless grace, and flash a big, relaxed smile at all parties involved, and MC's misguided admirer will probably immediately realise their error and beat a hasty retreat. If not, high chance Tobin'll just end up charming both MC and MC's admirer, and they all end up having a very pleasant conversation.

In crushing stage

Really depends on the situation, G's mood, and the type of flirtin' that's going on.

If G thinks MC's wooer seems interesting, respectful, and all-round worth engaging with, they might go over, sly half-grin firmly in place, and make some dry, slightly-flirtatious, slightly-provocative remark - like a cat prodding something to see if it bites back. In fact, G might end up flirting with MC's admirer - fair game, after all - and if MC's the jealous type, they might find themselves in the reverse situation.

Otherwise, G would probably just do their own thing, completely unperturbed, and feel zero impetus to insert themselves into what seems like an exceedingly boring conversation - MC can fend for themselves.

In an established relationship

I briefly mentioned in this post, that G's someone who believes firmly in the separate-ness of 'possession'/ownership and love. Objectively, they understand that there are people who find comfort in feeling mutually bound to someone else, but it's not for them, personally. They'd hate for any hot-blooded show of jealousy from MC, and would certainly not do anything of the sort, on their end.

Haunting of Bly manor's Dani: "People do, don't they? Mix up love and possession. I don't think that should be possible. They're opposites really: love and ownership."

Or: The fox in The Little Prince - at first: "To me, you are just a just a little boy like any other, like a hundred thousand other little boys...To you I am a fox like any other, like a hundred thousand other foxes." They'd then apologise, stiffly (or not at all), and excuse themselves from the conversation to go stew somewhere else, wholly perplexed by their own behavior. All of this would probably transpire in the span of a couple of seconds. MC and MC's wooer might exchange glances, and shrug (confusedly or knowingly, depending on how astute they are).

In an established relationship

Would also depend on Rayyan's mood/what they're there for. If they're not doing anything in particular, Rayyan might spare the time to march over, but this time, they'd simply raise an eyebrow & quietly listen, or casually participate in the conversation, until MC makes some sort of amused acknowledgement of their relationship. Only then would Rayyan break into something of a faint, satisfied, and very brief smile. They might leave immediately after, to pick up what they were doing before.
