#i CANNOT sleep and I've got Dante's Inferno stuck in my head #the song not the epic oh god #imagine if that was your superpower. just knowing all of dante's inferno off by heart #anyway I'm bored and my things to help me go to sleep aren't helping #_why don't you put your phone away then tash_ WHY DON'T YOU SHUT THE FUCK UP #also millie attacked my very special rainbow llama jerry who has gone around the world with me and now jerry only has one and a half eyes #it kind of suits him though i think maybe i will make him little glasses bc it looks like he's squinting at the moment #ALSO i was looking up feng shui and discovered that installing floating shelves that hang over my bed was not a move that optimises energy #but they also said that you shouldn't have books in your bedroom so clearly we are not on the same wavelength #i am constantly worried that the shelves will fall on me though #ok. feng shui wins this round #but i will win the war #how would one win a war against feng shui?#...i know. You just have to wait for the universe to finally collapse into chaos #there is no feng shui in entropy #it's me and the universe against you feng shui what are you gonna do about it?? use earthy tones??? position the couch differently???#anyway i really should put my phone away now #i say that but i will be scrolling on here for at least another thirty minutes #rant post #delete later

TMNT Micro Fic #2

Leonardo limped back from kitchen and sighed one of those sighs. The kind of sigh that set Raphael’s teeth on edge. The kind of sigh that started Michelangelo preparing excuses. The kind of sigh that Donatello steeled himself not to take personally.

Picking his way through the paper wrappers, loose bottles, and cotton balls, Leonardo very carefully moved a handful of bandage wraps off the the sofa. He draped his ice pack over his elevated knee. Leo selected an unused and unspooled bandage and started to wind it. Pointedly. Silently. Very loudly judgmentally silently.

His brothers sagged over various other furniture and just as pointedly obviously ignored Leonardo’s accusatory tidying. They knew how it was. He was tired and injured post-battle. His base level of passive aggressive got aggressively passive aggressive when he was run down. His brothers, also battered and exhausted, simply did not have any more ‘team spirit’ left for cleaning.

He finished winding the bandages he could reach from the sofa. The silence stretched, and his brothers held their breath. Maybe Leo was satisfied? Maybe the ‘lead by example’ cleaning martyr routine was over? He had taken some serious hits this time. Maybe he was actually relaxing?

Leo stood up.

Dammit.

Maybe he just needed something to drink.

Crinkling sounds. Wrappers from bandaids and sterile gauze.

Raph’s eyes opened. He stared at the ceiling, counting down from 20. He could still feel his bloody nose draining into the back of his throat and his face felt like roadkill and here was his injured, idiot, neurotic brother limping around the freaking living room like a shell-backed Cinderella, gathering up loose bottles of disinfectant and trash while his very-necessary ice pack melted on the sofa—

Michelangelo called out lazily from the beanbag, “I read this funny thing on the internet the other day.” The smile in his pause was audible. A pretty good trick for a guy with fresh stitches. “Every corpse on Mt. Everest was once a Very Motivated(tm) person.”

Mikey applied ‘trademark’ to all the dead people on Everest and knocked Raph right out of his anger. He barked a laugh and snorted painfully before clutching his head. Chuckling and changing out the wad of gauze up his nose, Raph flashed a loose-toothed smile at Mikey. “Yeah. Mountaineer Leo, come back to base camp.”

Donatello giggled from the recliner, but didn’t sit up. Bruised ribs. He moaned. Shouldn’t have laughed.

“Oh for—I'm not asking you to climb mountains! Just clean up after yourselves!” Leonardo finally spoke! Even without looking, Donatello knew Leo’s hands were on his hips.

Raphael groaned, “We'll do it in the morning!”

“Yeah, Leo. We just saved the city.” Michelangelo wadded the paper from his gauze pads into a ball and threw it at Leo’s head.

He batted it away and glared at Mikey as if Michelangelo had just smacked trash into the hallway by himself! Such injustice!

Since they were all registering complaints, Donatello added his. “Just let us bleed into our bandages for a second.” He was probably going to sleep in the recliner tonight. Soon. Now? Maybe now.

“We’ve all been hurt far worse! And the first aid kit is all over the room!”

“Your teeth are gonna be all over the ro—“

Michelangelo saved Leonardo’s teeth with a terrible betrayal. “Weren't you supposed to be icing your knee, Leo?”

“Gottfried Leibniz! Did he get up?” The recliner creaked ominously. “Leo. If you make me sit up to glare at you, I will zip tie you to a table.”

Leonardo made a tactical assessment. “Donnie, you couldn’t—“

“Okay. He couldn't." Michelangelo groped around for more trash to throw at Leo. "But Raph and I could.”

“Yeah. I’m in.” Raphael wiggled his nose. Had it stopped bleeding yet?

Leonardo limped back to his seat with poor grace. “Fine.” He repositioned his ice pack with the air of a sulky general in retreat. Sun Tzu’s Art of War had been silent on the topic of clutter but crystal clear on avoiding a fight with a superior force. Two against one put Leo back on the sofa.

Raphael rolled his watery eyes. “We'll get the mess later. Geez.”

The feng shui in my room is like in the negatives. In the imaginary numbers. Can i not stand what it feels like to be in here yes. That’s why i’m always lying down in here. Can i not endure the way my furniture and items and trinkets and art makes me feel small and helpless yes. Would I feel better if my room was a glass jar in a sunrise or perhaps a barren wheat field yes yes yes yes. Did I feel made of meaning anyway rushing through the seams under my skin every time i redecorate it in this terrible way in a new iteration of the same function yes yes yes i did have I been rearranging my beautiful collection of items left on streets that I took home and loved all day instead od vacuuming yes yes yes . I hate vacuums just go outside the world doesn’t need a vacuum when all things go to recreate us will my carpet not be part of the succession? When time lies down to die with the lovers of the earth will the contact lenses on my carpet not be part of the garden? And can i believe in a room that fits everything i love inside with enough space left to breathe yes because I love breathing and breathing loves air and air loves the unending singularity of the irritant suspended in the unformed pearl. Do i think I can make it okay yes. Is it worth it all my reaching falling short like paper airplanes yes. Can I do anything else but ask questions about phenomenologies of bedrooms and hearts besides bedsides and who needs work whose answer is yes. Yes. I opened a drawer I haven’t opened in weeks. Oh fuck the spider. And my life is stained again with the blood of the insect. And sometimes when dishwasher splashes on my face and my lip I imagine I am getting beat up on the street by the angel of entropy and getting back up on my feet. Not blood on my mouth but faintly detergent and coffee ground scented liquid. And I wipe it off . There are so many ways to feel like a person again .Time has laid down on the beds of nails into which the sun has pounded all summer and my contact lenses stick to the shower drain like dried flowers.. some poems can end in believing at least one thing is like something else. other poems just end believing. By poems i mean lives

Time has inscribed my ancestors pain onto my skin-- what do I do with this great hunger within? they keep trying to hand me scraps of the colored people's nirvana; in their eyes everything is segregated even enlightenment-- sit up straight, fix your face-- take those Tesla coils you call fists and put them in your pockets. when you grip a pen or a paintbrush like you grip a gun then you will feel true power which you'll then learn is synonymous with true joy; boy, they ain't tell you? slum roses only blossom at night and smell like cheap perfume and Newports; 99 cent thrills are the only thing that grow in concrete; the cradle, crib, and grave's Feng shui is runaway slave chic; I want to be someone worthy of love-- not a another poison lipped Romeo balancing the cosmos one Juliet at a time-- I want to be someone worthy of love and undeserving of violence one of the lucky flowers that live long enough to wither-- I want to make it the entropy-- I want quit worshiping chaos and seek truth in the pressures of poverty but it's not in me; what do they call dissonance that's one sided? bombastic but with nothing to collide with?

I never put much stock in feng shui but this house is in disorder dark energies are every which way shadows which make me shorter clothes strewn about the floor spiderwebs on chandeliers a stack of papers on every chair wallpaper peeling, broken door it’s affect on me, this entropy is a chaotic mind, not orderly every feeling strewn about the floor peeling heart, an iron-shut door could even the mighty ajax put this back together? cleaning such a mess with, at best, a lemon squeeze orange sprays to resolve the complicated forrays of dirt and grime, one must have to use elbow greese use strength put back in order all thats untethered then my mind too, will have order
