was listening to the s4 soundtrack again and the track does this make us friends? is just so important to me. i know it's been discussed to hell and back but re-listening to it really drives home how the track is about forgiveness.
nancy's making a friend. she's not had one since You Know Who. she was mean to robin earlier, and nancy asking if they're friends is her olive branch. it's the "i'm sorry. i was an asshole. wanna try again?" because i think, above all, it's nancy forgiving herself.

bright eyes | eddie munson x reader
summary you're a new neighbour in the trailer park, on a sunny day Eddie's daughter bumps into you. (4.1k)
warnings fem!reader, girl!dad Eddie!!!!, fluff, mutual pining, yearning etc, slowburn strangers to lovers, idiots in love!!!, , english is not my first language so I apologise if there’s some mistakes, not proof read!
a/n: i think i might make this a little series if you guys would like that <3 part 2 part 3
It was warm outside.
Early spring had its advantages, flowers started to bloom, the sun shone brighter and longer, and the rain fell only at night when you had trouble sleeping.
You had just moved here, and you still weren’t sure or knew that much, so you tended to keep to yourself. You’d go to work, to the little shop on main street, back to your little trailer.
You were sitting down on your little kitchen floor, looking at the way your washing machine turned around, waiting for your hair to dry after the shower, so you could sleep with fresh sheets tonight. You enjoyed this sort of calmness, a new found happiness that you weren’t aware you could achieve.
You placed the white sheets on the little laundry basket that you had lying around, cloth pins scattered on its bottom. You held it, against your waist, your left hand grabbing it while you struggled to open the door.
You whispered along the words of a song that was playing from a beat up radio from across the street, taking your time, as you placed every sheet perfectly, enjoying the sun shining on your face. It was all going as well as it could.
“Hi.”
It startled you, not as much as it could, the little voice coming from down below you, it forced you to look down, a little girl looked up at you, half hiding behind your sheets, she was wearing a black faded black sabbath shirt that didn’t belong to her, the seam of it well past her knees, white socks on her feet, her hair was black and curly, half hiding her eyes.
“Oh. Hi.” You smiled at her, the sweetest tone you could fathom came out of your lips. She became shy for a second, as she grabbed one of your clothes pins and handed it to you. “Thank you, buddy.” You smiled as you grabbed it, placing it on top of one of your cushion covers, even if it didn’t need an extra one. “You’ll get your socks dirty.” You point out.
She smiled in a shy manner, covering her face with her hands as she nodded.
“Bug?” She turned around as soon as she heard his voice. Her arms went up, demanding to be held by him. “There you are!” He had a soft and playful tone, as he grabbed her.
You felt stuck there for a second. He was tall, with curly dark hair, strong decorated by tattoos arms that flex when he held her, close to his chest. The same smile she seemed to have was imprinted on his face. It’s not that he is attractive -which he undeniably is- but he seems to shine, in a beautiful light, warmer than the sun.
“I’m sorry if she annoyed you, we were playing hide and seek.” His words come out way too quicker than he had wanted them to, with an apologetic look on his face as he swayed his body, her giggles invading the space between you.
“She didn’t, not at all.” You smiled at him, before looking back at her, she was giggling at you now, and a soft spot was found deep inside your heart. “She was helping me do laundry, actually.” You point out to the extra wood clothespin that she had given you.
“Oh, so you can help the pretty lady and not me?” He jokes as he tickles her belly, the infectious laughter growing louder and stronger as he holds his face closer to hers.
But you don’t really listen, the only thing in your mind right now is his voice calling you pretty.
pretty, pretty, pretty.
Your cheeks become warmer, pinker.
As soon as he notices, he realises what he had said.
He had called you pretty before even introducing himself. He feels like a fool, he meets a pretty girl and is only focused on the one in his arms.
He tries to fix it, a soft grin dedicated to you as a nervous scoff leaves his lips.
You don’t really mind the silence, or the opportunity to look at him, and his dark chocolate eyes, but you have the impulse to tell him your name, and you do, with an upside down smile that passes down to him.
“I’m Eddie.” He says in return, grabbing your hand not thinking much of it, though he didn’t think he’d feel a sort of sparks as soon as your hand met his. To be fair, neither did you. “This little bug is Lua.” He adds, as he lets go of your hand, slowly, so his fingers can tickle her again, making her giggle once more, her tiny hands grabbing his hair in a playful manner.
“Hi Lua.” It’s not that your voice comes out shy, but the high pitched baby voice makes your tone come out with a bit of a treble, as if nervousness that she wouldn’t like you took over. “Thanks for helping me with laundry.” You add, as she hides, pushing her face against Eddie’s chest, the pureness of that gesture makes your smile wider.
If you weren’t so focused on Lua’s reactions, you would have caught Eddie lost into you, as he had never experienced such kindness or softness from someone that wasn’t already close.
He was used to the stares, and the silent judgment from everyone, way before Lua came into his life, and mostly it came from people around his age, or way older. His constant thought behind a string of ‘shut up grandpa’ and ‘go back to your retirement home’ that he never said out loud. The world could be mean, but he would never let her little girl know that. At least not yet.
He wasn’t used to this though.
A kind stranger, around his age, that doesn’t really judge, and interacts in a playful manner with her. It was more than he could fathom.
“‘r welcome.” Lua mumbled as she looked up from her hiding spot for a second, before burying herself back into his arms.
Eddie’s heart felt full for a moment. Lua wasn’t used to strangers, and she didn't really like to talk out loud to people she wasn’t used to. Though these days she was only used to uncle Way and Stevie, or aunt Rob. So seeing her, not only talking back after you told her something, but having seen her approach you out of her own will, it made his mind stop worrying for just a second. Lua’s social ability was just as good as his in that moment.
The thought made him smile to himself.
“We should check if our’s is done.” He mumbled to Lua’s ear as he started swinging his chest again, hugging her tightly as he felt how she was starting to get heavier. “That way you can stop wearing dada’s shirt.” He looked attentive at your face, waiting for your reaction.
He felt better when he didn’t see nothing but a compassionate smile.
Eddie was also used to people thinking he wasn’t the dad, maybe an uncle, maybe an older brother. Eddie was also used to people opening their eyes wide as soon as they hear dad when referred to him.
But you didn’t.
Truth be told, it did shock you a bit. But the little girl was a carbon copy of him. The same wide smile and wild hair. And the world was mean and complicated enough, you didn’t need to make it harder for someone you had just met.
“We’ll see you around?” He asks, with a hopefulness on his voice that you’re not too sure what it means, or what you actually want it to mean.
“Yeah, I moved in a while ago so…” He nodded as he pointed at the little trailer right in front of yours.
“That’s us.”
“Way!” Lua blurted out as she looked back at where she called home, and Eddie couldn’t help but chuckle and give her a kiss on her temple.
“Yes! And uncle Wayne too.” You noticed that his tone is sweeter, calmer and a bit higher when he talks to the little girl on his arms than when he talks to you. “If you ever need anything…”
He doesn’t finish his sentence, the end of it implied, and you’re left nodding, telling him that if they ever need anything you’re here too, waving bye to Lua as she looks over Eddie’s shoulder, her little hand waving back.
You finish hanging your laundry dry, as you think about what just happened.
You had finally made friends that weren’t work related, and one of them was a baby. You sort of chuckle to yourself. It felt stupid, but it also felt good, knowing someone here, and that someone being nice, and kind.
It felt as if you were finally on the right path.
-
“Bug, please?” Eddie whined for the fourth time, while Lua was still on the higher part of the couch, looking out the window.
She shook her head again, Wednesdays were always the longest days in the Mudson household. Eddie took another big breath, while he looked at his wrist watch once again, afraid he’ll be late if he doesn’t leave soon.
“Okay… You can either stay here with uncle Way, or you can come with dada to the garage. Please?” He bargained, for the last time, begging to some higher power she’ll climb down the sofa.
He could scream out of excitement once she finally did.
“friend?” She asked, in a mumble as she pointed out of the door.
She had been doing that for a while now, ever since Eddie had found Lua in your yard, she kept asking to go see you, for some reason that escaped Eddie’s mind, her little girl seemed to have an infatuation with you.
Eddie sat down on the floor now, and Lua started walking closer to him, he laughed in defeat as she giggled, her little steps approaching him.
“Once I get back from work, deal?”
Eddie held his hand out, waiting for her to shake it as she usually did when she knew she had won whatever she wanted -which happened frequently- but accepted with glee once she tried to hug him, with her usual clumsiness. Her arms not quite reaching the back of his neck until he helped her up.
He enjoyed this little moment.
Holding her close while nothing else was going on. A long day ahead of him that he wasn’t totally ready for, but then again he wasn’t really ready for a lot of things that he ended up being capable of.
Wayne’s steps broke the small intimate moment.
“You made a friend, Lua?” He asked as she giggled at the sight of him, even if he still was half asleep, Wayne always seemed to have more than enough energy for her.
“She did.”
“Who?”
“New girl.” Eddie nodded at the trailer that could be seen through their window.
“Huh.” Wayne had never been a man of many words, but the way his facial expression changed usually left nothing to the imagination. In this case, it was a warning. An overprotective warning.
“She seems nice. Lua approached her.” She smiled, as she always did when she heard her own name. Eddie knew that she liked to be included, no matter what. Maybe that’s why he tried so hard.
“You did?” Wayne’s eyes opened wider, as he squatted down to meet her eye level, she wobbled her way into him, as she giggled once again. She had a secret power, or at least that’s what Eddie thought, to make everyone happy.
“Friend!” She said again, pointing at where she had last seen you.
“Okay bug, see you in a bit?”
“Lo you.” She muttered as she waved bye, Eddie’s heart warmer as he opened the door and blew her a kiss.
“Love you too, bug.” Eddie opened the door, stopping on the frame as he always did, checking his pockets, making sure he had everything he needed with him.
“Kid, if you plan on going over, make sure she’s okay with it. Not a lot of people are.” It was another warning, his left eyebrow raised, his tone sharper. Eddie just nodded.
And before he knew it, he was already on your door, knocking and hoping you’re actually home.
You were, and the nocks on your door wake you up. You had always been a light sleeper. You found your way out of your bed, and you didn’t care if your hair was a bit knotted than usual, messier or that your eyes were still adjusting to the light creeping through your windows. You opened the door and there he was. Tall, handsome Eddie, in his washed up jeans and his white shirt that had some small car grease marks on it. His opened blue short sleeve shirt with the little name tag made you smile internally.
“Sorry.” He muttered, as soon as you made eye contact with him.
He took a second, you stood there, sleep still present on your face and overall demeanor, but what caught his attention -even if he tried not to- were your naked legs, barely covered by an oversized shirt that you evidently used as a sleep shirt. Still, you looked pretty, he thought. He also felt bad that he had woken you up.
“S’kay. Morning.” You half joked as you smiled up at him, your head resting against the door frame, your arms crossed over your chest, the air making you feel a bit colder than you were deep in your sheets.
“Yeah, morning.” He was left speechless. He wasn’t sure why, but all of a sudden he wished he hadn’t knocked. So you could be resting, being face to face with you, he could see the little bags under your eyes, and he imagined how much you were enjoying getting to sleep in.
“You knocked to tell me good morning?” If you hadn’t had a smile on your lips, or your voice wasn’t as sweet and soft as it was, Eddie would have felt even worse. When in reality it made you inexplicably happy that he was the reason you had woken up.
“No, yeah, sorry.” He chuckled in a nervous manner once again. “Uh, Lua has been asking for you, and uh… I’m done at work early today, and if it’s not too weird and if it’s okay we could come for a bit after, don’t worry if you don’t feel like it i-”
“I’d love that.” You cut his nervous and anxious rambling off. “I’m free today, so I can go pick up some things for her?”
Eddie relaxed, his shoulders dropping and his smile finally appearing.
While you had to try hard to hide your excitement.
“You don’t have to…”
“Shut up. She deserves it.”
Even if you weren’t aware of it, that was the best thing you could have said to him. But truth be told, you were actually excited, you had been thinking about him, and the promise of a new friendship since you had met him, so this? It felt like the perfect excuse.
“What time were you thinking?”
“Uh, I dunno, my shift ends at around six, so maybe…”
“I’ll have snacks ready by six then, don’t worry.”
He was way more thankful than he could express, but he tried his best anyway.
“Thank you princess, it means a lot. Truly.” That nickname rang in your ears for a while, the same way it did when he had called you pretty. It was made obvious that you had liked it by the way you were starting to blush.
“Don’t worry Edds.” You stayed just like you were for a second longer. Looking at him, and the way his dimples were showing when he smiled as wide as he did, and a spark in his eyes he seemed to reserve for you. “Hope you have a good day at work.”
He was the one blushing now, and the one he was left with the way you had called him Edds, the sound of your voice present on his ears for a while after he had started driving. It wasn’t until he arrived at the garage, when he realised he was smiling at nothing, like an idiot.
-
You might have gone a bit overboard.
You had gone into town, and before you knew it your fridge was now filled with various juices and milk. The good ones that you usually didn’t buy for yourself. You had thought about baking a cake, but you ended up deciding that that felt too much as a birthday type of treat, so you went for your comfort recipe.
The cookie dough was already done, and you were chopping up the chocolate bar into smaller bits. You hated dark chocolate, so milky sweet one was the only acceptable one.
Morrisey’s voice kept you company as you mutter along the lyrics.
You looked over your little home, you had cleaned, deeply. Afraid that Eddie would judge you, or that Lua would somehow hurt herself or something could happen to her. You tend to do that, over worrying about things you can’t really control.
Then again, Eddie was doing the same thing.
A quick shower, fresh clothes, and hair almost dry. Lua looked up at him with excitement, as he tried to find something else for her to wear. She had a tendency to steal his shirts when he wasn’t there, in an attempt to be close to him, or at least that’s what he thought. So the negotiation began.
“Bug, which one?” On his left hand he had a light blue dress that Joyce gave him a few years ago, on his right he had a newer pair of overalls. She stood there, shaking her head as she hugged the shirt she was already wearing. “You need to get dressed if you want to go see your new friend, bug.” He couldn’t help but chuckle, as soon as she realised they were going to see you, she pointed at the overalls and had no issue getting ready.
Thank god for you, he thought. It had never been that easy, normally Lua hated changing clothes, especially when she was already comfortable. But this time, she didn’t only do it, she helped, and was excited to.
Lua wasted no time, her hands hitting your door as hard as she could, which resulted in soft knocks you still heard.
“Hi.” She beamed up at you, holding her arms open for you, her voice higher than you remembered. It might be her childish excitement, or at least that’s what you think.
“Hi Lua.” You met her level of excitement as you squatted down so you could meet her, her arms trying to hug you, waiting for you to help her get up so she could do it. Used to this type of hug with her dad.
Speaking of, Eddie was speechless. Mainly because Lua doesn’t really hug people that are not him, or Wayne. Steve maybe had gotten two or three hugs, she usually blew kisses. Also he wasn’t sure if you actually wanted them there, or were just being nice, but that doubt went away as soon as he heard your voice, and saw the way you smiled at her.
He also was pretty sure that he could smell cookie dough.
Lua found her way in, passing you by as you greeted Eddie. She didn’t have time to waste, her curiosity always winning. In her defense, your house was full of colour, and she wasn’t used to it. Every pillow was a different colour, and they were everywhere. Your couch was green, which she didn’t even know that was a possibility. Your walls had photos, and posters, and drawings. She had so much to look at she was grinning from ear to ear, laughing as she moved around.
Eddie did the same, in a more discrete manner. He found his way in the middle of your living room, he looked at the stacked shelves, they were full to the brim, various fantasy books that he recognised -mainly because he had already read them- cassette  tapes and vinyls also shared a big portion of space. He smiled to himself everytime he knew a group that you seemed to like. Your vhs collection also caught his eye. You, on the other hand, were left there, holding your hands in an anxious manner, not too sure what to do now. Seeing how father and daughter act the same in different ways.
“You’re listening to the Smiths?” He asked, once he caught on to what was playing.
“Oh, yeah, I’ll uh… turn it off.” You became embarrassed, knowing that probably he didn’t like that type of music, or maybe it was too loud. Eddie smiled, shaking his head no.
“No, it’s fine. Lua likes them, that’s all.” You looked down at her, and relaxed once you saw her dancing along. She was moving up and down, kind of in tune with the music.
The little timer started, letting you know that the cookies were now done.
“Lua, you like cookies?” She didn’t even need to say anything, her eyes opened as she heard the word, she walked next to you, Eddie following closely.
He grabbed her up, letting her sit down on the counter. He was grateful all the trailers were the same, that way he knew -kinda- where everything was.
“Carefull, bug. It’s hot.”
“Hot.” She repeated, pointing at the baking sheet that you took out, fresh golden chocolate chips came out. “For me?”
“Well, not all of them.” Eddie answered, with an amused tone in her voice that made you chuckle in response.
“We have to wait for them to cool down a bit.” You told her as you placed them on a plate, the tips of your fingers slightly burning.
“Why?” Her eyes opened in wonder, not really following you.
“‘Cause when they’re too warm, they can give you a belly ache.” You explained to her, earnest in your tone, as you touched your own stomach.
“Only five minutes, bug.” Lua turned around, looking at Eddie with a confused look. “You can wait five minutes right?” She looked at him, slowly. You couldn’t help but chuckle, seeing the way they share the same look between them.
-
You were on the couch.
Eddie didn’t count it as cuddling, not really.
You were just sitting down next to him, his arm brushing yours, as you both looked between the T.V that was playing ‘Arthur and the Stone ’- you had a tendency to collect VHS, and the style and drawings had pulled you to buy it. You didn’t have an excuse until now to watch it, so you were just enjoying it as much as Lua did- and the little one, who was enamored by the story, while she colored in one paper lazily.
Eddie had become a bit too comfortable. His body feeling heavier, warmer, he was on the verge of falling asleep. That same feeling shot sirens on his head. This felt too nice, too normal, too usual. He could get used to this, and that wasn’t good.
He didn’t really know you.
Eddie knew where you lived, how your living room looked, that you worked almost everyday -though he still didn’t know where-, and that you were incredibly nice. And sweet.
Eddie also knew that Lua trusted you, and for now, that was enough.
It was enough that you had taken time out of your day so you could bake them cookies, or buying the expensive juice that you had taken them in as if they had always belonged there.
Lua giggled and Eddie’s eyes opened, seeing how she was pointing at the T.V when the boy turned into a squirrel, and the way she looked up at you, wanting to see your reaction. He was happy, more than he had been in a while.
You were sinking deeper into the cushions. Deeper into him and this familiarity. You could get used to this, but you weren’t unsure if you should. You enjoyed spending time with them, and this was fun, but then again, it was scary. It scared you, the thought of it going wrong, or you doing something you weren’t supposed to, it was a bit too much.
While you were sitting down there, with him that close, his smell lingering in the air, his warmness by your side, the risk of this crush evolving into something else was too much.
You didn’t care. Not at all.
Neither did Eddie. Not even a little bit.

Family cuddles | pg10
Summary: Your little girl decides to interrupt the peace and quiet of the morning. Warning: None, just you and Pierre being sweethearts.
a/n: dedicated and requested by: @martaaairwin1994-blog
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sunlight streams through the blinds, painting warm stripes across the bed where you and Pierre lie intertwined. The air is thick with the quiet contentment of a shared morning. Pierre, still half-asleep, mumbles something unintelligible against his girlfriend's neck.
“Mornin', sleepyhead.” you say with a smile.
Pierre stirs, his eyes fluttering open. He smiles at her, that easy, charming smile that makes her heart clench.
“Morning, beautiful. Sleep well?”
“Like a baby. You?”
“Like a king. Though, maybe a king with a tiny princess ruling over him.”
He gestures towards the doorway, where your almost! three-year-old daughter, Lucille, peeks in, her eyes sparkling with mischief. She's wearing mismatched socks and a giant T-shirt that swallows her whole, but her grin is infectious.
“Peek-a-boo papa!”
“Luci! Come here, you little monkey!” you said squealing.
Lucille squeals with delight and launches herself onto the bed, landing with a soft thud between her parents. Pierre scoops her up, showering her face with kisses.
“Good morning, sunshine! Did you sleep well?” Pierre asks her.
“Yes, Papa! I had a dream about bunnies and fluffy clouds.” She giggles.
“Sounds magical. What did the bunnies do?” you asked curiously.
“They flew on the clouds! And they sang a song about carrots.” She said shyly.
Pierre and his girlfriend exchange a fond look. Lucille's boundless imagination never fails to amuse them.
“Sounds like a pretty cool dream. Maybe we can draw a picture of it later?”
“Yes! And we can color the bunnies pink!” Luci says while clapping her hands.
“Pink bunnies, huh? Sounds perfect.” You say with a smile at your daughter's creativity.
Lucille nestles closer to her mother, her soft breaths tickling her skin. Her girlfriend smiles, wrapping an arm around her daughter's small frame. Pierre joins them, his hand finding hers, creating a warm circle of love. The morning sun paints the room in a golden glow, casting long shadows across the bed.
“I love you, Mama.” Lucille mumbles.
“I love you too, sweetheart. Always and forever.”
Lucille's breathing becomes even, the rhythmic rise and fall a soothing lullaby. Pierre watches them, his heart swelling with a love he never thought possible. He remembers the countless sleepless nights, the endless diaper changes, the moments of pure exhaustion. But looking at them now, bathed in the quiet contentment of morning, he wouldn't trade it for anything.
“You're incredible.” He says as he kisses your forehead.
“We're incredible together, don't you think?” You smile sleepily.
Their fingers intertwine, a silent promise of shared dreams and unwavering support. The silence is broken only by the soft chirping of birds outside the window and the gentle hum of the refrigerator downstairs. It's a simple moment, yet it holds the weight of a thousand unspoken words.
“Remember when we were young and carefree?” Pierre whispers.
“Barely remembers yesterday, let alone years ago!” you chuckled.
“I meant carefree in a good way. No responsibilities, just us.”
“And now we have the biggest responsibility of all, but the best kind.”
“You're right. Being her parents, watching her grow each day, it's the most rewarding thing in the world.”
They fall silent again, their thoughts turning to their future as a family. The little girl nestled between them is a constant reminder of the journey they've shared, the obstacles they've overcome, and the love that binds them together. The sun climbs higher, painting the room in a brighter light, signaling the start of a new day. But for now, they hold onto this precious moment, a stolen cuddle in the morning sun, a testament to the enduring power of love and family.

hi can I make a request where reader works at her families restaurant like one of those cute Indian restaurants and hobie becomes like her favorite customer and when she gets to like him she flirts with him relentlessly and yh
Hi hi! Thank you for the cute request!! 😘❤️❤️❤️
Pairing: Hobie Brown x fem! Reader/ Spider-Punk x fem! Reader
Tags: No use of Y/N, no specific physical description of the reader, CW food mentions, FLUFF.
ʕ·ᴥ·ʔ
“What will you have, stranger?” You ask, the menu cradled on your arm. Eyes shining in the warm light, you seem to shine brighter when he stares at you like he hasn't seen you in years. Truthfully, it's only been three days since his last visit.
Hobie has been nursing the glass of icy water in his hand, condensation prickling his palms. The cold is a stark contrast to the way his skin heats up from how you sweetly uttered the word ‘stranger’ when in fact he hasn't been a stranger to you for a long time.
The golden light above acts as your spotlight, the cushy seats of ‘his’ booth that he has practically claimed for himself feels like it was molded for him. The aromatic scent of the entire restaurant, your restaurant, has him relaxing almost immediately. After a year of coming here, he feels at home. He already knows all the songs your father seems to always play on the speakers.
And with all the days he always seems to find himself in the restaurant, you've grown close. Quite close in fact that his monthly rendezvous has turned to weekly visits to daily in a span of a few months. And with you always being his server, it was impossible not to fall for your favourite customer. Now his visits doesn't restrict him to the restaurant.
“You know what I want, love.” Hobie sends you a quick wink when he's sure that no one in your family is in the vicinity.
“Hobie.” You warn, whispering, hiding your face with the menu in your hand. “I told you, your flirting won't get you a discount,” he opens his mouth but you already know what he's about to say. “Or have me on the menu.”
He laughs, metal rings tapping on his drink. “Can't hurt to try, right?”
“Yeah, I'm sure you saying it for the 412th time would finally get it to work.”
“Fine, my usual then.”
“Extra spice?” You almost wince at the thought.
“Yes, please. Extra, until I get your family's attention.”
“I'll get the milk ready then.” God, he has never wanted to hold someone's hand this bad. Noticing how his pinky twitches towards you, you act as if you're giving him the menu when in fact you're hiding how you quickly squeeze his hand.
As quick as your warmth came, you take it away in a snap. He's glad you did though, because if you didn't he might've pulled you closer to him.
“Thanks, love.” Hobie smiles smugly at you, knowing he won. You almost wish you're not working right now so you could kiss the smirk off his lips.
“Coming right up.” You wink back, now he's the one who's all giddy by a mere wink.
You should tell him that your family knows him well by now, even giving him extra heaping portions for his loyalty. But you just love seeing him cry and fan himself whenever he eats something he can't handle.

Alone in winter | Geto Suguru x gn!reader
Summary: After Geto's spiral into madness, Gojo began to grow more cold towards you every passing hour. Your once happy trio is beginning to feel more and more like...just yourself. That is until one snowy evening, a familiar face lights a fire in your heart you never realized you had before. Genre: friends to lovers, angst to mild fluff Notes: Inspired by (G)I-DLE's song "Hann (Alone in winter)"
Tumblr media
"Satoru?" You looked up at him as he stared off into the night, sitting on the balcony of the apartment you both shared. He simply turned to look at you, not making a sound. "I'm glad you're still here with me." You spoke softly to him. The only sounds that could be heard were that of the cold wind of the winter blowing softly in the night. He nodded his head at your comment and went back to spacing out. Ever since Suguru had gone off the deep end, nothing had been the same. Especially not with Satoru Gojo. He mentally blamed you for not being able to save Geto from himself, however deep inside Gojo knew you he was more guilty than you ever would be. He had been the one to lash out at Geto after getting frustrated with him. You'd always pull Geto aside to comfort him when his mind became troubled and actually listened to him, as opposed to Gojo's one track mind of trying to get him back on track to becoming the strongest sorcerers in history. Gojo wanted to say you enabled Geto's thoughts by consoling him when they'd get bad, but in reality Gojo was just bitter he hadn't been as good of a friend to him before he eventually spiraled the same way you had. Now he was pushing you away too. He'd rather forget about Geto all together and carry on, and you were a constant reminder of the missing piece of what used to be a perfect trio. Three best friends, all broken in one way or another by a world that failed them all. The colder Gojo got, the closer you felt like wanting to run away too in hopes of finding Geto. If you did find him, would he kill you? You really didn't care. Everything around you felt like it was crumbling into into pieces. Gojo was going to lose you too if he didn't get his act together, but you never had the nerve to say anything to him. His coldness only made it harder to speak with him, someone you use to be able to tell anything. "I mean it Satoru. I'm really happy we still have each other." You repeated yourself hoping for more of a response, but he still continued to ignore you. You got up from your seat next to him and went inside. You stormed into your room and grabbed your phone before grabbing some shoes and a jacket to go outside. Sure it was late at night, and cold, but you didn't really care anymore. Staring at the stars while walking, you noticed how some twinkled brighter than others. It reminded you of yourself. You used to be one of those brighter stars, but you knew your light was beginning to fade. The cold metal bench Gojo, Geto and yourself used to sit on seemed to taunt you as you sat down on it, reminding you even more of why you were hurting so much. The bone chilling feeling didn't only come from the temperature, but from the memories that were flooding back so rapidly. Good and bad. A doleful feeling washed over you and you thought back to the day you remembered all too well. The day you witnessed Geto break. You brought your knees up to your chest and wrapped your arms around your legs, resting your head on them as you sat on the bench and cried. The wind whistled as snow began to fall from the ground. You didn't care if it was cold outside. You were used to it. Closing your eyes, you pictured a time when you were happier in your head as the chilling wind blew your hair around. Suddenly, footsteps began to approach the bench and you felt that someone had sat down next to you. As you opened your eyes, you almost couldn't believe them. Did you just fall too far into a daydream or what?
"Long time no see, Y/N." The man spoke. His voice was a bit raspy from the cold, but his dark eyes and long black hair were unmistakable. "Is it really you?" A desperate tone echoed through your words. "Would I be sitting next to you so closely if it wasn't?" Geto chuckled. His voice sounded like pure honey. You stood up off the bench and he did the same. He pulled you into a hug. "What are you doing out here all alone?" He lowered his voice. He was still on the run after all and he would never risk getting you put in harms way. Ever since he left Jujutsu society a year ago and became who he was now, he never showed up much. There were times you swore you saw him in public, but this was the first time actually seeing him. You cried into his arms. Everything had been so hard without him. You hated him for what he'd done, but it was merely a hate for his actions. You could never hate him. As you both pulled away from the hug, Geto sat back down on the bench and gave you a warm, inviting smile. You laid down on the bench so that your head was in his lap. He looked down at you and you looked up at him, both smiling at each other. After talking to each other for hours about life on the bench, catching up with one another, he noticed the feint light of the sun. "Want me to walk you home?" He offered. He knew the dangers that would follow if he was spotted, but he didn't care. He'd die for you if he had to. Overtime he realized the feelings he had for you too, yet neither of you had mentioned them yet. "No." You spoke with a smile on your face. "You can take me anywhere, just not home." Your words threw him for a loop. "What exactly do you mean, Y/N?" He thought he knew what you meant, but he had to make sure he wasn't assuming things. "I want to go with you." You said bluntly. Selfishly he wanted to tell you to come along, but he knew for your safety it wasn't a good idea. "As much as I'd love that, you can't. The higher-ups will start hunting you down if they catch wind you ran off with me. I can't let you put yourself in harms way for me." He hugged you tightly and a tear fell down his cheek. He didn't want to let you go, but he had to. "I don't care. I can protect myself, and you. Just like I know you can protect yourself, and me." He heard the determination in your voice. It sounded to him like you had already made this decision a long time ago. You were just waiting to find him again. "But what about Satoru?" He posed another question he thought would challenge you. Instead, it pushed a button he had no idea was there. "I don't care about him anymore. I tried to be there for him but he ignored me. He doesn't care about me either. Trust me. I did my best, but it wasn't enough for him. Ever." You snapped. Geto looked shocked, but ultimately, tried to be understanding. "Well. There's no talking you out of this, huh?" He chuckled. "Then come on. Let's get going before the sun comes up." He placed a kiss on your cheek and gave you another quick hug before leading the way. He was looking forward to living with you.

whatever's supposed to happen in season 3 aside, i'm delusional
please enjoy silly ideas about what muriel, crowley, maggie, and nina get up to while aziraphale's gone :)
maggie and nina RUSH to crowley once they find out aziraphale left
both of them know the feeling of rejection and they support him as much as they can
they give him helpful breakup advice and check up on him periodically
over time, the three become good friends
maggie and nina are endlessly curious about the whole heaven/hell/angel/demon/universe thing and crowley answers what questions he can
since crowley's still not bound to hell, the three of them just vibe most of the time
muriel joins them on occasion, when they're not reading a new book
crowley, despite maggie and nina telling him it might be better to keep his distance from the shop for a bit, checks in on muriel and teaches them how to properly take care of the bookshop
as in, don't sell any of the books, don't rearrange any of the books, close and open whenever you want, etc.
occasionally, muriel, maggie, and nina will organize sort of "storytimes" where crowley shares some stories from his past
it starts with the ones without aziraphale. it's still a bit too raw to tell those.
but, eventually, he tells the story of elspeth in edinburgh. or the lost unicorn on noah's arc (which maggie swears she knew were real this whole time)
maggie and nina also teach muriel how to properly blend in with humans
they're not the BEST at it, but they're good enough that they can go get hot cocoa from nina's shop without people staring at them
crowley teaches muriel how to perform miracles. although, angelic miracles are just a bit different than demonic ones. so they both kind of figure it out together
muriel ends up miracling aziraphale's wardrobe to fit them. those are the human clothes they have access to, afterall.
and, besides, the style suits them.
crowley smiles at the look and doesn't comment on it. and nina gives him a reassuring pat on the shoulder.
muriel shares the stories they've read with maggie, who listens enthusiastically
nina suggests muriel write a story of their own
regular customers at give me coffee or give me death now recognize the bookshop owner often in the corner pondering a laptop
nina taught them how to use it. crowley whispers to them that if they tell the laptop what to do with a bit of miraculous energy, it's a lot easier
maggie shows muriel some music. it's so much better than the celestial harmonies that they've had to hear for all these years
they end up liking everything they're shown. from aziraphale's old classical records they found in the bookshop to the queen that plays from crowley's car
muriel adores the bentley. and the bentley eventually warms up to them.
crowley takes muriel to see more of earth, once
well, more of england anyway
there's one time during the drive that the queen melts into an unfamiliar song. something about angels and nightingales.
crowley puts a fist to the dash and it switches back to queen before muriel can grasp what it is
while they're far from the city, the stars are much brighter
muriel hasn't had the chance to see them until then
and crowley tells them another story. about nebulas and galaxies and how they're made. and how gorgeous they really are up close.
muriel doesn't understand why crowley gets so sad talking about something he loves
sometimes residents of the street ask where mr. fell went
maggie and nina will respond that maybe you should mind your own business and they're sure he has his reasons
muriel will smile and say that he's gone on to heaven. then get confused when people offer their condolences
crowley doesn't say anything.
ms sandwich can put together that aziraphale and crowley were an item, though.
and she can certainly see that they aren't anymore
eventually, after a few months, maggie and nina start officially dating
muriel happens to be reading some of aziraphale's romance novels, and they find nina and maggie's relationship utterly adorable
if they ever mention as much tho, nina will tell them to piss off while maggie gets flustered
once, muriel asks maggie and nina when they figured out that they had feelings for each other
crowley is around at that time
muriel, excited by maggie and nina's answers turns to crowley and starts to ask him when he realized he was in love with aziraphale. but they trail off
nina had told them that crowley's not great at talking about aziraphale all the time
they have to wait until he brings it up, okay?
muriel apologizes, but crowley waves a hand
he explains the experience of the first rain
and maggie GASPS
"the rain! back when you were trying to get me and nina together! that was YOU."
crowley just offers a half-smirk and a thumbs-up
that's all ive got for now.

I Remember Everything || Leon Kennedy
Tumblr media
pairings: Leon Kennedy x GN!Reader
warnings: hurt/no comfort, breaking up, alcoholism, semi-toxic relationship, Leon hates himself, reader has alcoholic father, no y/n is used.
word count: 2182
requested: nope!
a/n: i'm a yapper so this is gonna be long LMFAO. honestly i didn't have any specific leon in mind when i wrote this so... anyway i recently gave y'all fluff but i think it's time for angst. this is very heavily inspired by "I Remember Everything" by Zach Bryan and Kacey Musgraves. even if you don't like country, i'd recommend listening to it while reading this.
Sitting in a dive bar on a Wednesday night had become Leon's sense of normal over the years. It didn’t matter the day actually. If he wasn't on some life threatening mission for the government who didn't care about his well-being, he was at the bar. It was pathetic. He knew that better than anybody. Men his age were married and drinking with their friends. Some had at least two kids by now. He couldn't help but think of how he could have had that with you.
If only he didn't ruin everything he fucking touched. Maybe you both would be happy right now if he hadn't crossed paths with you.
Nursing his whiskey glass, he sipped on the caramel colored liquid. Rot gut whiskey usually helped ease his mind on nights like this. He didn’t enjoy how awful it tasted, but it was his choice of poison. It’s what he deserved, right? The cheap liquor burnt going down, and the aftertaste made him want to gag. Reality had seemed to be the thing he had trouble swallowing the most in the moment.
Memories of you had begun to trickle back into his mind as he continued to drink. Was it too much to ask the universe to cut him some slack for one god damn night? He thought about you enough as it is when he was sober.
He was specifically thinking about one of the first dates you both had gone on. Driving home in your old pick up truck from the beach with the windows down. Sitting in the passenger seat gave him the best view. The summer breeze danced with your hair as the sun seemed to highlight all of his favorite features on you. Your smile somehow was brighter than the sun as you sang along to some cheesy pop song on the radio. Beautiful wasn’t even a word that could cover how he thought of you in the moment. Emotions he thought he would never feel again overwhelmed him, and before he knew it, warm tears had begun to form in the corner of his eyes.
“Are you crying babe?” You had asked while turning down the radio. Concern was written all over your features. Sometimes you gave him a run for his money with how observant you were. His piercing blue eyes were glossed over before he turned his attention to whatever was passing outside the window. Quickly he cleared his throat as heat creeped up the back of his neck.
“Yeah. You still got sand in your hair and it blew into my eyes.” Both of you knew it was an excuse, but you didn’t pry any deeper into the subject. You had learned your lesson about trying to make Leon communicate his emotions with you. Besides, he had the mentality that grown men don’t cry. How could he explain that he was crying out of joy and in awe of your beauty? Thinking of explaining that had made him cringe at the time.
God he used to give you so much shit about that truck. It was on the older side, and he had offered multiple times to get you a new one. But you were too stubborn and would shoot the offer down. That truck was your pride and joy. Now he would give anything to drive around with you in that pick up truck one more time.
Another memory seemed to taunt him and rub salt into his open wound. Late night talks sitting on your beatdown basement couch together, your head in his lap as he played with your hair. You’d tell him stories about your family, like when your mother had run off from your father and pawned her wedding ring. Something about how she couldn’t take your fathers drinking anymore. His soothing fingers running through your hair would comfort you, and he swore to you that he’d never turn out like that.
It tore him up to think how he wouldn’t be the man that he always swore to you he would be.
Glass clinking snapped him out of his pity party. Another whiskey glass was in front of him. The bartender gave him a small nod before focusing his attention on another patron. Leon bit the inside of his lip once he realized the man hadn't even had to ask Leon if he wanted another one. He had grown used to Leon's company in that same damn barstool he sat in every time. Knowing that only made Leon sink deeper into his self hatred. His eyes flicked down to the drink before lifting it to his lips, and took another drink.
The bitter taste of the alcohol paired with a cheesy pop song in the background, the same one you blasted all the time, brought one final bitter memory to him. When he broke up with you, or more like when you broke up with him. Funny enough, it happened right here at the same bar, at the same barstool. He might have been wasted when it happened, but he remembered everything about that night.
You had come into the bar looking for him one night. The bar was almost closed so when he heard the door open, it had caught his attention. The moment his eyes laid eyes on you, he knew he was in deep shit. You were constantly telling him how you refused to step foot in a bar. Going as far to say you’d rather eat glass than be around the smell of alcohol and alcoholics. Normally he’d remind you that not everyone who went to a bar was an alcoholic, but here he was, proving your point. There was practically a trailblaze of fire behind you as you stomped your way toward him. Steam was leaving your ears and he began to mentally prepare himself for what was about to happen.
“What the hell Leon?!” Glaring at him, you crossed your arms. Anger was practically dripping off your tone. Empty glasses were sitting around him. He couldn’t meet your gaze which only pissed you off more. You hadn’t heard from him in days. Three fucking days to be exact. You knew he hadn’t been sent off to do a mission. He would always give you a kiss goodbye and promise he’d make it back to you. Now you were questioning if his promises meant anything.
“Don’t do this here. Just let me finish this drink, and we can go do this.. somewhere else.” His disinterested voice slurred as he traced the rim of his glass. You felt your blood begin to boil. A teensy tiny part of you felt bad for him. Leon had seen horrific things, not that he would give you the full picture of things. It didn’t take a genius to know that Leon was a broken man. But you didn't care about that.
For the past couple of months, he had been acting cold towards you. Less and less would he tell you how much he loved you. His fuse was shorter with you, and most of the time you guys were arguing about stupid things. It felt like you were constantly walking on eggshells around him. No matter how much you tried to talk to him about the issues in your relationship, he ignored you. Ignorance was bliss was his mindset about things like this. Not to mention, you had noticed he had been drinking more heavily. Stumbling to your place late at night, too drunk to even stand correctly had become something that happened at least three times a week. You couldn’t stand alcohol and he knew it. Not answering you for three days was the final straw for you.
“No, fuck that! We’re gonna do this here,” You slammed your hands down on the bar. For a moment that seemed to have gotten his attention before he returned back to his unbothered facade. Your hands were stinging from how hard you had slammed down.
“You’re drinking everything in sight to ease your mind, but just when the hell are you gonna help ease mine? Do you know how fucking worried I’ve been?!” You yelled at him, clenching your jaw.. Leon rolled his eyes and shook his head. Luckily there was only one person at the bar, the bartender. The bartender took it as a sign to go get more stock.
“Did ya think that maybe you’re the reason I’m drinkin’? All you do is bitch at me all the time. It’s…It’s like nails on a chalkboard every time I hear you talk.” He waved a finger at you. His pupils were dilated, and you could smell the alcohol coming off of him. His drunken words stung, and there was a flash of hurt written on your face. Even when you two were arguing, he never talked to you like this. Guess strange words come out of a grown man’s mouth when his mind’s broken.
“Are you being serious right now?” Your voice broke towards the end of your sentence. He didn’t respond, and only stared at you like you were an idiot. The audacity he had to say that astounded you. Drunk words were a sober man’s thoughts or however the saying went. You were reminded of the way your father would talk to your mom, and a feeling of disgust washed over you. The man you loved was starting to become like the man you hated. Your anger dissipated as tranquility took its place. You knew what you had to do.
“You know what? I’m done.” You had sounded so unbothered as you removed your hands from the bar. Like if you were talking about the state of the weather and not ending your relationship. Leon raised an eyebrow. Did he hear you right? Were you doing what he thought you were doing?
“I love you and I understand you have your issues. But I have enough self respect for myself to realize I deserve better than being treated like garbage.” Hearing your words seemed to sober him up. He quickly got off the barstool, stumbling a little as he did. You watched him with a strange look in your eyes. Looking back at it now, he realized that it was a look of pity.
“Baby. You don’t mean that.” He chuckled before searching your face for any signs that you were joking. Much to his dismay, your lips were pressed in a thin line. He reached out to try and grab your hands but you had pulled them away. Your eyes were devoid of that warmth you usually had whenever he looked into them. That’s when it hit him that he had fucked up for the last time.
“Do me a favor and call yourself a cab. Seems like the bars’ closing soon.” A disappointed sigh managed to escape from you as you turned away. Part of you wanted to personally drive him home but that would only hurt you in the long run. These were the consequences of his actions. That’s what you had to tell yourself as he began to plead you to stay.
“Please don’t do this. Can’t you just stay? Please love, don’t leave me.” He called out to you. He would have begged you to stay till the sun rose, you knew that. You’ve never heard someone sounding so desperate, let alone Leon sounding so desperate. Maybe it was how much alcohol he had consumed. Maybe it was the fact that he knew he was losing you. It made you hesitate for a moment but you continued to walk.
Deep down you knew if you stayed, you wouldn’t be able to leave. It would be a never ending restless cycle of Leon getting drunk and saying hurtful shit, you wanting to leave, him begging you not to, etc. You weren’t going to be like your mother. Desperate pleas fell on deaf ears as you finally stepped out of the bar, disappearing into the night and his life.
“Time to go home. Bar’s closed.” The bartender told him which snapped him out of his thoughts once last time. It didn’t feel like that much time had passed since he was given another drink, but the time on his watch proved him wrong. When it came to you he always lost track of time. Every time he sat down on this barstool he thought about you. Why he had kept coming back here, he didn’t know. Mostly it was a way of punishing himself. For letting you walk away and being too much of a coward to not change for you.
He paid his tab and left a tip for the bartender. Mumbling a good night, he made his way out the door. The cool night air felt nice against his flushed skin, yet it only made him miss you more. Cursing out his brain for the painful reminder, he called a cab before waiting for it to come.
God he wished he didn’t but he did remember every moment (the good and the bad) on those summer nights with you.

Love of My Life
Tumblr media
For the 'Even When The Night Changes' series
Summary: Y/N (stylist!yn) applies to be a styling intern for the One Direction crew during the Where We Are tour. As she gets better at her job and closer to the band and crew (especially Harry Styles), some of her dreams seem to be coming true, but so are some of her fears.
~~~~~
A/N: As a celebration of the 1 year anniversary of this series, I wanted to give you something very special. Here it is. The wedding of Harry and Stylist Y/N.
Warnings: Fluff, fluff, fluff, oh and an emotional Niall
~~~~~
August 2017
[Deep breaths, you're gonna be totally fine]
You purse your lips and exhale, doing your best to control your breathing and the butterflies uncontrollably fluttering around inside.
You're not scared. It's just a big moment. And even all the dreaming and planning didn't prepare you for the emotions and adrenaline coursing through your veins as you get ready to walk down the aisle.
"I wasn't privileged to have always been there for you, but I always will be kiddo. And I'm so honored to be here now." Dave states as he takes in a shaky breath. "You look beautiful, YN."
He lifts up the hand of yours that he has held in his, and twirls you under his arm, allowing you to show off your silk, fitted, sweetheart neckline bridal gown.
The moment is something you had wished for as a little girl, and then one you never thought you'd have as you grew older. Without your father in your life, this moment never seemed possible. But here you are, being doted over by Dave, and it is better than you ever could have imagined.
"Dave..." You reply, quivering in your words. "I can't… imagine… this moment without you."
You take a deep breath, wrap your hand around Dave's arm, and he nods when you turn your head to him.
"Let's get you to Harry." He winks.
You nod back to him and straighten up as you take the first steps.
Your heart leaps as you start to hear the first chords of your chosen song. To be more specific, Harry's chosen song.
You awake to the soft strumming of a guitar, and smile as you open your eyes to see Harry sitting up in bed and staring out the window with the instrument on his lap.
"What are you doing there, Rockstar?" You ask sleepily.
"Good morning, Sunshine." He turns around, a sweet smile displayed on his face. "I was just thinking about you, and the wedding…"
"Oh?"
"I think… if you don't mind… I think I have the perfect song for you to walk down the aisle to…" He states bashfully.
"Okay, H. Let's do it." You shrug.
"Yeah?" He grins. "Can it be a surprise?"
"I wouldn't expect anything less from you." You giggle.
The butterflies rise as you realize an instrumental version of 'Here Comes the Sun' by The Beatles is beginning to serenade you.
But with each step, the song begins to fade further into the background as the noise of your racing heartbeat takes its place. If you could focus on anything else, you'd notice all eyes on you. You'd hear the joyful sniffles from loved ones. You feel Dave patting your hand in encouragement and emotion. However, the closer you get to the end of the aisle, the more fixated you become on the man waiting there for you.
You cannot help the way your eyes wander up and down his frame, admiring how well his surprisingly buttoned white shirt fits his upper body, and the way his trousers hug his lower half in all the right ways.
[Skinny jeans who?]
He looks incredible. Not that he ever hasn't, but today he has reached his peak. No sheer black shirt, Saint Laurent jacket, or floral Gucci suit could ever compare to the way that he looks right there. But what makes it the best, is the sparkle in his gorgeous green eyes, and the wide brimming smile on his face. Those expressions are bigger and brighter than you've ever seen them, and your heart swells with love.
Suddenly, you're there, facing the man you still can't believe you're spending the rest of your life with. If anyone told you three years ago that this would be your future, you would have fainted from the lack of breath you'd have due to laughter. The thought of just being loved felt ridiculous back then. But to be loved by Harry Styles? Unfathomable. Yet, you have it even better. You are loved by Harry. Just Harry. And there he is before you, loving you, and waiting to take you as his wife.
"You're a lucky man, Harry." Dave utters, receiving an instant nod from the man he is addressing.
"I know." Harry responds, reaching his hand out as Dave lets go of yours. "Trust me, I know."
Dave gives you a kiss on the cheek and you give him the most appreciative smile you can muster. You know that you wouldn't be in this moment if it weren't for the way he loved your mother. He showed her, and then you, that it was possible to be cherished in exactly the way someone should be.
"You look… YN, you look…" Harry stumbles through his words, his eyes flickering up and down your body as you move beside him. They work their way back up to yours, and his other hand reaches to your cheek, using his thumb to gently caress your skin. "You're absolutely gorgeous."
"Looking really snazzy there yourself, H." You reply, your gaze never leaving his.
"Yeah, yeah. Everyone looks good. Now, can we do what we all came here for?"
Your attention is taken from each other as you both turn to look at the source of the voice beside you both.
Niall winks, prying open the notebook he brought to help him keep on track while officating the ceremony. You chuckle as he takes a deep breath, knowing full well that he may have a harder time keeping his composure than either you or Harry.
"Family and friends, we are here today to witness Harry and Y/N commit to one another. However, this was done in their hearts a long time ago. I would know, I was there."
The crowd chuckles.
"From the beginning, Y/N brightened something in Harry, and Harry ignited something in her. Even through the tough times, they were always tethered together somehow, they have always been in love."
Niall looks to you and winks again, a gesture to prove that he was right all along. From the beginning.
"Now, m'tryna keep it together, because I love these two loads. So, m'gonna keep it short."
Harry gently places his finger under your chin, and leads your gaze to meet his. You instantly see his bright eyes and beaming smile, causing you to forget where you are. You just stare into those gorgeous greens and everything feels right.
"It's… It's now time for the vows, and these two have written their own. So, get out your tissues and handkerchiefs, people." Niall suggests, pulling out his own in preparation.
"Bloody hell mate, I wanna get through this and you're not helping." Harry whispers, reaching into his pocket and pulling out a paper.
"Jesus. Okay. Haz, please read your vows out to Y/N."
Harry clears his throat and takes a deep breath, staring down at his paper before looking back up to you.
"Sunshine. I've used that name for you since the day we met. As soon as I saw you, and your bright presence, I was instantly drawn to you. From that day forward, you were always on my mind."
He looks up to you with a smirk, and small blush forming on his face, then looks back down to his words.
"You kept a strong guard of your heart, but you also quickly had a strong hold on mine, and I knew that it was yours from then on. Thank you, for trusting me with your own. Y/N, I promise that you'll never have to guard it again, because I'll keep it safe every day of my life. I would do anything for you, and I plan to prove that to you every single time I take a breath."
You hear Niall clear his throat, and make the mistake of quickly glancing over to him, seeing the glossy filter of emotion forming over his eyes.
"Don't you dare." You quietly plead, focusing back on Harry so he can continue.
"You know me, the real me, the deepest parts of me. You're the reason behind the man I am now, and the man I want to be, and I don't want to be anywhere else but with you. You are everything to me."
He pulls his lips inward for a moment, folding up his paper and grabbing your left hand for a kiss.
"I love you, Sunshine. Always."
You can hear a multitude of sniffles in the crowd, but refuse to look their way. You stay focused on him.
"Oh no. I'll lose it in a moment…" Niall states in a whisper. "Because now it's time for your vows, Superstar. Please read them to Harry."
You turn towards Natalie to grab the paper you spent very little time writing on. It wasn't hard to know what you wanted to say to the man standing in front of you.
Your gaze catches your best friends and you smile as you see the small lines in her makeup made clear by her tears.
"Damn it. He's good at that." She whispers.
"Yeah, too good."
You turn back to face Harry, getting lost in his eyes for a moment, yet again, and grab one of his hands with your own. You close your eyes and let out a strong exhale, opening them again to view the words you are about to express.
"Harry, since day one, you have changed my life. I was so scared to open up- to love someone, or be loved by someone. But then I met you. No one has ever made me feel so out of control, but yet also completely safe at the same time."
You pause, taking in a big inhale as you think about the sincerity of those words.
"I've had constant butterflies since the first moment you looked at me, and I knew nothing would be the same. That feeling will never go away."
A subtle shake of your head, and the swallowing down of the lump in your throat give you the ability to continue.
"You opened up my heart, and my world. I would have never experienced most of what I have if it weren't for you. You are everything I never knew I needed, and everything I never want to be without. You changed my life, and now you are my life."
You peer up to him and are taken into the trance that only he can do with you, awakening those same butterflies you had just mentioned before.
"I love you, Rockstar. Never a question."
"Oh boy. That was… yeah, beautiful you two." Niall quickly swipes his thumb under his eyes and clears his throat. "But I held it together."
"Umm…" you chuckle. "If you say so."
"Alright. Alright. Let's keep this going and get rings on fingers, 'cause I wanna get ya married!"
Mitch hands yours to Harry, and Natalie hands Harry's to you. You smile as you hold it in your palm, remembering the very first time you saw it. The thick gold band, surrounding a green peridot gem in the middle. The one you saw and instantly thought of him. The one you bought for him, and sent him for Christmas that first year you had been together, after the breakup. The one he kept that entire time, but never wore, in hopes that one day he can wear it for something special. The one he, apparently, kept for today.
He grabs both of your hands, rubbing his thumbs over your fingers, biting his lower lip as his right foot moves behind his left leg and begins to tap on the ground.
"Harry, do you take Y/N to be your wife? Will you cherish her, love her, support her, and commit to her through whatever life may throw at you?"
"I do."
"F'course you do." Niall winks.
Harry brings up your left hand for a kiss, looking up at you before he lowers it back down slightly, and gently slides your wedding ring onto your finger. You look down and the breath is taken from you. He asked to buy you a completely different and additional ring, not just a wedding band. Your engagement ring now sits on your other hand, and a beautiful gold floral band with a peridot stone in the center rests in its place. It matches the one you purchased for him, the gemstone representing August, for the month you met and now also for the moment you take his last name.
"And Y/N, do you take Harry to be your husband. Will you cherish him, love him, support him, and commit to him through whatever life may throw at you?"
"I do."
Tears begin to congregate at the corners of your eyes, and you dip your head down to place the ring on his finger. As your gaze comes back up, Harry's hand runs across your cheek to collect the moisture.
"We figured." Niall laughs, pulling you out of the love daze you're in and reminding you of the actual event taking place. "Alright, well, now for the best part! The internet gave me the power to say that I can now… oh geez… I can now pronounce you husband and wife!"
Cheers erupt from all around you, but your gazes and grins stay on each other, reveling in the moment you legally become one another's, though you know that happened in your hearts a long time ago.
"Now, kiss her you fool!" Someone, who sounds like your brother, shouts from their seat.
Unfazed, you watch as Harry glances over your lips, biting his own as both hands move to cup your cheeks.
Anyone else would expect to be pulled right in and lips firmly smashed together as the final step of the ceremony. But Harry slowly leans in, breath labored as if it is the first, but also most important, kiss between you too. His lips initially graze yours, causing a shiver over your skin as your hands slide up from his biceps to the back of his neck. He presses softly against you, pulling you in closer, his tongue gently teasing to be let in.
Time stands still. It's the perfect way to end the official event and begin your life as a married couple. You could be in that moment forever, but as your mind begins to flash to all the possibilities ahead for the two of you, your lips pull away. Looking up to Harry, you notice the gathering of tears in his eyes as you feel one or two of your own begin to trickle down.
"I don't want to let go of this moment." He whispers, words shared between just the two of you, despite the many eyes pointed your way.
"You don't have to." You quietly respond, a whirlwind of love, excitement, and joy taking over you completely. "I'm not going anywhere."
He smiles and pulls you in for another kiss, one with a little more passion, but the same amount of tenderness as before.
All of a sudden, there's the slight feeling of warm breath hitting between the two of you.
"But if you two don't move, no one gets to eat." Niall mumbles, causing you and Harry to smile against each other's lips, finding the comedy in the fact that even though this is a new journey for you two, some things will never change.
"Alright." Harry mutters, finally pulling back from you, his eyes still taking yours in. "Let's get this party started."
~~~~~
"If the bride and groom could make their way to the dancefloor, it is time for their first dance as newlyweds."
Harry stands up and grabs your hand, helping you out of your seat and leading you to the center of the room.
"Now, don't be mad…"
"Oh god, that's never good." You chuckle.
"I have one more surprise for you." He states, giving you that mischievous smirk you are so used to seeing.
"Okay…" You reply nervously. You're not the biggest fan of surprises, and Harry knows this, but each one he has done for you has gone above and beyond any expectation you could ever have. It's not as though you need him to do it that way, but you know it's the way he likes to, and the thought he puts into it always shows how much he loves you.
Suddenly, the quick sound of drums hits your ears, and you instantly recognize his choice of song with the upbeat notes of the other instruments beginning to play.
"You picked a 'Starship' song?" You ask, eyebrows raised in curiosity and amusement. "Why?"
You reach your spot and he spins around to hold your waist, pulling you in as close as possible to his chest. You instinctively rest your head on his shoulder and feel the weight of his head as it rests on yours.
(Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now)
Lookin' in your eyes
I see a paradise
This world that I've found is too good to be true
Standin' here beside you
Want so much to give you
This love in my heart that I'm feeling for you
"Umm… 'cause you were listening to them…" Harry begins, causing you to pull back your head, seeing the blush in his cheeks and his eyes flickering around as if in embarrassment.
[He's so cute when he's flustered, and it's funny that he still seems to get that way with you]
"The first time I walked in on you singing, in the dressing room, you were listening to a 'Starship' song." He explains.
"Such a sap." You chuckle as you sarcastically shake your head, your heart filling with every positive emotion you can feel at one time.
And we can build this dream together
Standing strong forever
Nothing's gonna stop us now
And if this world runs out of lovers
We'll still have each other
Nothing's gonna stop us
Nothing's gonna stop us now
"Thank you. I love it." You whisper to him, feeling those permanent butterflies as his lips gently kiss the top of your hair.
You lift your head, staring into the eyes that can pierce their way to your soul, and you cup his cheek, knowing that this is exactly where you were meant to be.
All the fear, adventure, heartbreak, fighting and waiting for each other was a difficult journey to experience, but it led you to this perfect moment, with this perfect man.
"Why are you so good to me?" You ask, watching as his eyes begin to glisten in the dim light of the room.
"Because you're the best thing that's ever happened to me." He smiles, carefully holding the back of your head and bringing you in for a kiss.
You smile against his lips and wrap your arms tighter around his neck, keeping his face close as he momentarily pulls away.
"You're my favorite person in the whole world, Mrs. Styles." He grins, and you wonder if he can feel your heart beating as strongly as you can feel his.
[That very first day he saw you, you were shocked that he knew your name, but now you are so happy and honored that you get to take his]
"And you will always be mine."
.
for those of us out there still looking for our homes <3
.
.
and for those of us who have found it: welcome home.
Sometimes home became too much.
Was it even truly home if that was the case?
Where he was going now felt more like home.
The basement had become too stuffy for him. It didn’t help hearing footsteps above him, nor had coming upstairs and seeing Demetrius.
Perhaps, after meeting her, he was no longer content with staying in the dark. To stay trapped and confined. Quiet. Walking on eggshells and memorizing schedules so that he’d be able to leave the basement with no one around.
That was fine, though. Now he was going home. To somewhere safe.
Even the walk there made him feel better, he could breathe again, unlike in the basement where he felt that he was suffocating.
Sure, it was past midnight and a little cold, but he couldn’t complain. He was thankful she lived close, and he looked forward to the warmth of her home.
It was both a physical and an intangible warmth that she carried with herself even outside of her home. Her arms felt welcome and safe, he’d never felt judged or uncomfortable there.
Now he was at her doorstep, all he had to do was knock. Perhaps it was rude of him to show up so late. She was always working hard, especially recently with her plans to restore the Community Center that she had told only him about.
Here his mind went, racing and doubling back over itself. He stood paralyzed at the door, fist relaxing and clenching again.
Suddenly the door swung open and he was momentarily blinded by warm, soft lighting.
Had he already knocked without realizing it? Maybe he’d just been waiting this whole time.
“Sebastian!” Arms wrapped around his neck, he hadn’t even made it inside yet but her warmth erased any presence of the frigid air. He felt a warmth spread from his heart to the rest of his body, further calming him down on the inside as well.
“Come inside, it’s cold,” she pulled him inside by the arms, closing the door softly behind him. “I thought I heard someone on the deck, I should really just give you a key at this point, I’m so happy to see you,” she smiled, still holding onto his arms as she faced him.
He was still a little shocked, perhaps by the quick change of events. How one person could make such a difference in his life, he could never understand. Already, the world seemed brighter and better from just a few actions. “You would trust me with a key to your house?”
“Certainly I would, my love,” she brushed a stray hair from his face. “You’re welcome here whenever you’d like. Even if I’m not home or sleeping, my door is always open for you. You’re lucky tonight, I just got home from the desert and couldn’t quite sleep yet. I’ve just been on the couch reading a book.”
“Can…Can I stay with you tonight?” he mumbled, melting into her touch.
Her face narrowed with concern; again, such a simple gesture that was so rare it made him want to wrap his arms around her and whisper ‘thank you’ and ‘I love you’ over and over.
“Of course. Is everything all right? Do you wanna talk about it?” When he shook his head she cupped his face, giving him a quick kiss. “That’s alright, Love. Go ahead and sit down, do you want coffee? Tea?”
“Tea, please.” He responded, making his way to her couch. She followed behind quickly after with two steaming mugs, a tea bag hanging out of each one.
She laid down on the couch and he was quick to collapse onto her, his head resting on her middle, arms wrapped around her waist, and the rest of his body laid between her legs.
She ran a hand through his hair, humming softly as she picked up her book with her other hand.
Everything felt perfect in such a peaceful moment. Gone were any feelings of frustration or discomfort that had built up in one day. All was forgotten in her warmth.
Perhaps home wasn’t even a place, but a person; he could be happy anywhere as long as she was with him.
When he needed help and was craving home, he didn’t need a place, he needed her.
He was home.
Been thinking about Pianist!wwx and violinist!lwj playing together at a mall. Wei Wuxian likes to go to the mall to play for people, he loves taking requests, or plays some well known musical pieces and sometimes he’ll play one of this original compositions.
One day he’s playing “Rain” by Ed Carlsen, which is one of his favorite pieces to play when he's out and about. He’s just so caught up in the moment that he doesn’t notice a man standing next to him, pulling out his violin and just joining him on the piece with so much ease. His eyes grow wide but soon that sparkle he has shines brighter at how easy and harmonic both of them sound. He laughs, he smiles, he shows off while the mysterious violinist stays focused and composed, yet the passion drips into every note they play.
Their duet attracts a lot of attention, multiple people taking videos and pictures (plus wwx is recording the whole thing himself since he sometimes uploads the videos of himself playing online) this is the first time anyone has joined him in a duet. After they’re done, they look at each other breathless, a bright smile on wwx’s face while there’s the smallest curve on the mysterious violinist’s lip. Before Wei Wuxian could even ask for his name, he had already put away his violin and walked away. Wei Wuxian groans, annoyed he didn’t even get to know the handsome violinist’s name. Maybe they’ll meet up again.
He hopes they do. He had never felt such a connection with another musician before.
A few weeks later, Wei Wuxian is playing at a restaurant. This time he’s getting paid to do so, which is great! He can’t just let opportunities like that pass by!
So, he’s playing something classical to fit the mood. It is rather fancy, your food, of the size of a quarter, costing you an arm and a leg type of place. Wei Wuxian will never understand why people want to spend their money like that, but it’s because of places like this that he has a place to work. Well, if playing here during the weekends is even considered work. He enjoys it nonetheless.
Once he’s done with a piece there’s scattered claps through the restaurant. This won’t do, the people need to be entertained! Wei Wuxian sets his phone against the piano, already recording. There’s a smirk on his face, cause he already has the perfect piece in mind. Fingers hovered giddily over the ivory keys, an exhale leaving his lips and soon began to play.
The melody startles some of the clients, which makes Wei Wuxian chuckle under his breath. The tune is fun, like a little dance around the calm waters of the lotus lakes of his old home. It’s one of his original compositions, but he’s played it a few times before, so he wouldn’t be surprised if people knew it. Wei Wuxian lets himself get lost in the song, silver eyes fluttering close. A sense of pride fills his chest, noticing how the restaurant had become quiet. He could sense all eyes on him, which sent a chill up his spine. What he didn’t expect was to hear a violin joining his now gentle melody.
His eyes snap open with a gasp, and right next to him he sees the same violinist from a few weeks back. His mouth hangs slightly agape, and for a moment he loses his focus which causes him to play a few sour notes. Yet, he smiles brightly, impressed that, despite this not being composed as a duet, the mysterious violinist was even able to join and keep up. Wei Wuxian can’t help but huff a laugh, and just as he does he is met with a piercing golden gaze. His breath stutters, he had never seen such beautiful eyes, especially ones that looked at him with such intensity.
Wei Wuxian has to stop playing, knowing there’s a solo coming up. He’d usually play it through, but he wanted to see if this violinist had also come up with his own solo, and he delivers as expected. He lets his eyes close and he plays his piece, swaying with the music he produces with much passion and Wei Wuxian can’t help but be completely mesmerized by such beauty. Not just him, but the crowd around him! At some point he has to join back, continue their little dance as both their melodies become one.
A round of applause erupts once they’re done, both of them looking at each other as if nothing else mattered in the world other than this moment. For the first time since their first encounter, Wei Wuxian could take a better look at the violinist. He was only a few inches taller, dark, ebony hair like the keys of a piano cascaded over his shoulder, a white ribbon braided and intertwined in it. A wide smile paints on Wei Wuxian’s face as he stand from the small bench to offer a small bow.
“We finally meet again, mysterious violinist.” Wei Wuxian says, quirking an eyebrow upward, “You know my song.” It was more a statement than a question.
The man nods in response, “Wei Wuxian is very talented.” Oh, his voice. The low timber sends a shiver down his spine. Wait, how does he know his name?
“How do you…?” Wei Wuxian starts, narrowing his eyes if trying to recall someone or something. “You follow my page. You’ve seen my videos.” He says with realization, which is followed by a laugh.
The man nods again before offering a courtly bow. He doesn’t say anything else as he turns to leave. No, not this time. Wei Wuxian manages to grab his wrist, stopping him in his tracks. “Hey, hey, don’t leave like that! Will you at least tell me your name?”
The violinist seems to consider shaking the grip off or telling Wei Wuxian his name. Golden gaze seems to stay glued on the other’s hand for quite some time before exhaling softly. “Lan Zhan.”
“Nice to finally meet you, Lan Zhan. Though, I’ll miss calling you my mysterious violinist.” Wei Wuxian chuckles. His fingers slip from the other’s wrist, now tucking them into his inner coat pocket to take out a piece of paper and scribbling a series of numbers. “I really, really like playing with you. Maybe… maybe we could…?”
“Yes.” Lan Zhan is quick to answer before Wei Wuxian can even finish his sentence, as if he’s been waiting for him to ask all evening. “I would like to play with you, Wei Wuxian.”
“Wei Ying. Call me Wei Ying.” Handing him the piece of paper with his phone number, a broad smile on his face. “Maybe we can grab some coffee? You took my song and modified it into a duet, I’ll forgive you only if we can play it again.”
There’s the tiniest curve at the corner of Lan Zhan’s lips. Golden eyes melting like honey as they gaze at silver ones. “Mn” he agrees. After that, you’d see them playing anywhere they could: malls, airports, restaurants, out in the streets when it was warm enough. They’d perform the most beautiful duets anyone has ever heard.
Spencer shakes his leg nervously. His thumbnail is in between his teeth getting chewed on. An open document sits on his computer that he hasn’t touched since opening it. He clicks a pen in his other hand absentmindedly. He’s staring at the wall in deep thought that he doesn't notice Derek watching him from his desk.
“Is he okay?” JJ asks when she walks by Spencer.
“He’s been like this since we got back from the camping trip.”
“What did you do to him out there?” she chuckles and walks away.
It takes Derek ten more minutes of watching Spencer to finally do something about it. He gets up from his desk and walks over to the young genius and waves a hand in his face. Spencer shakes his head and looks up at Derek, ceasing all activity.
“What?”
“What? You’ve been in and out of reality since the camping trip. What happened to you back there?”
Spencer thinks back to you, the lonely mermaid out in the middle of an isolated lake with no one to talk to. He hated leaving you knowing you’d be by yourself. You’ve been that way for hundreds of years but he can’t stand the thought of you doing it any longer. Derek would never believe him if he told the truth. Derek has always been known to believe in logic and facts. If Spencer started talking about mermaids, he’s sure to lock him up.
He can’t tell him.
“Nothing. I just want to go back,” Spencer shrugs.
“We can maybe next month.”
“No, I want to go back now.” Spencer sighs and turns away from Derek. “You won’t get it.”
“Okay, you’re clearly going through something. When you’re ready to talk about it, I’m here for you.”
Derek pats his friend on the back and leaves him to go back to thinking about you. Ever since Spencer left, you’ve been feeling more lonely than ever. Being alone has never bothered you. You’ve gotten to know this lake like the back of your hand that it’s become comfortable to live in. People from all over the state visit the area to camp and swim, so it’s not like you’re completely cut off from the outside world. You observe them as they come and go but only when you met Spencer did you wish you could do the same.
The lake and the surrounding area have been desolate in the coming few days, so you’ve been swimming in the open waters freely without worrying if someone is watching you. Your tail shines through the mucky waters and your voice bounces off the trees for miles to come. Your voice has a hypnotic tone to it that you can project for miles. It’s how you were able to lure sailors to their deaths back in the day.
That part of your life is over with, and you can’t fathom using your voice to hurt anyone, but it’s amusing to watch the locals make up stories because they hear your voice in the middle of the night. It’s the main source of entertainment you’ve got, so might as well have a little bit of fun with it.
Your mind drifts back to Spencer and your tail glows a bit brighter. Whenever you’re extremely happy, your tail shimmers blue to support your emotions. If you’re extremely sad, it darkens. Your voice gets louder as you sing the tune to your favorite song, or from one of the songs you’ve heard campers play on their radios. This part of the region gets only a few channels, so you know each song by heart by now.
You're swimming on your back and humming to yourself when you hear a twig snap. The area is so dense with trees that even the smallest of noises sound extremely loud. You stop singing and sink into the water so that only your head is showing. You swim to a dark part of the lake to conceal yourself as you wait to see who is coming.
A minute later, you see bouncy curly brown hair and your mood immediately brightens.
“Spencer, you’re back!” you grin and swim over to him happily.
Spencer can’t get over how amazing you look even in this condition. Your tail has always fascinated him since he first saw it, and your entire personality is captivating. He’s shocked he ever found the strength to leave in the first place. It’s part of being a mermaid, you can’t help but captivate others. However, you’re not using any of your special powers on him. You want this to be real.
“I can’t stay away,” he chuckles and sits down at the edge of the lake. “You’re in my head all the time.”
“That’s a good thing, right?”
“Yes.”
He leans down and you lean up, and the two of you meet halfway to share a secret kiss. No one is around to witness the kiss but it still feels taboo to you. Your tail shimmers bright blue at the feeling of his lips on yours.
“What are you doing here?” you ask when you sink back into the water.
“I came to see you.”
That makes you feel incredibly happy but there isn’t a road around for miles. It must have taken him a long time to get to you.
“You must have traveled far. You and I both know how isolated this forest is. How long does it take you to get here?”
“Does it matter? What matters is I’m here.”
“I don’t think I like that you put your life on hold for me.”
“I’m not. I’m still trying to figure out how to get you out of this lake and back into the ocean. My place is a lot closer to the ocean than here, but I also want you to be home again.”
“I’ve been here so long, this is starting to feel like home.”
“I’m gonna get you out of here.”
“Save your brain for something that really matters. I don’t know how it’s possible. I can’t be without water, and the ocean is hundreds of miles away.” There is a sad look in Spencer’s eyes that you don’t want there. He didn’t come all this way for you to squash his hope. “You know, if I was back in the ocean, I’d go swimming with dolphins with you. I’d take you snorkeling and scuba diving to show you things no human can see.”
Spencer reaches into the water to grab your delicate hands. He’s surprised at how your skin stays so soft and smooth even after being in the water all your life.
“Hold onto that hope because I will get you out of here. I promise.”
“A promise is a big deal in my world.”
“It is in mine, too. I don’t make promises I don’t intend to keep.”
“Okay,” you nod, deciding to trust him for now.
Spencer stayed for as long as he could before he needed to head back to the BAU. It sucks not being able to leave with him but you let him go. He has a life on land that he needs to live. A life without you in it. You wade in the water before sinking slowly into the depths below.
Spencer makes it back to the BAU early the next morning. He told his coworkers he needed to leave early for some errand he needed to run not knowing they were going to try and contact him. Derek is in the break room when Spencer enters, and he approaches him slowly with a concerned look on his face.
“Hey, where were you yesterday? Where did you go?”
“What do you mean?”
“Come on, man. I tried you at your apartment but you didn't answer. So, I called your phone but they all went to voicemail.”
“I was in the forest where we went camping. I told you I wanted to go back.”
“Reid, that’s a two-hour drive from my house, and you live thirty minutes in the opposite direction of me. Why go there and only get to spend a few hours just to come back? And you were alone?”
“I wasn’t alone. There were other people there.”
Spencer is keeping something from Derek, he can tell. There is something he isn’t telling Derek and the older man narrows his eyes in suspicion. Derek opens his mouth to say something when someone turns the TV up to hear the news. There has been a forest fire going on a state away that keeps spreading.
“Firefighters are doing everything they can to put out the dangerous flames, but sources say they might just let the fire die out naturally, and get everything and everyone out of its path before it’s too late.”
The news shows footage of the firefighters trying to use helicopters with big baskets of water so they can pour water down onto the flames in hopes it’ll extinguish them. A light bulb goes off in Spencer’s head when he sees what the helicopters are doing.
“Hey, how much do you think it’ll cost to rent one of those?”
“One of what?”
“Those helicopters with the basket for water?”
“Are you alright, man? You’re starting to freak me out. What is going on?”
“Never mind. I’ll figure it out. Thanks.”
Spencer walks away with his phone in hand before Derek can say anything else. Spencer just found the solution to getting you the hell out of that lake. A week passes by without Spencer coming to visit you, which you kind of expected. He has a life of his own well before he met you. How can you ask him to pursue something with you if you spend all your time in the water? Even if he somehow gets you out of this damn lake, how can you ever ask him to stay with you?
You can’t leave the water. He can’t live in the water. He needs food, sleep, and money to live a comfortable life whereas you don’t need any of that. You’re dead. You two can’t go on dates unless they’re spent by the shoreline or the lake’s edge. You’d love for him to visit your “house” in the ocean but humans can’t travel that far down without serious damage to their bodies. You can’t ever see his house because you need to be in the water constantly. A mermaid dries out very quickly if she is out of water, so how would this work?
Spencer has given you so much, more than you could ever ask for but you’re taking just as much away from him. He could gain so much more by having a human girlfriend than a sea creature.
It breaks your heart but you have to let him go.
As you’re thinking of ways to do that, you hear a helicopter in the distance. You duck down beneath the surface so as to not get spotted. The helicopter flies above the lake you’re in with something attached to the end of it. That big red thing drops to the surface of the water, and you swim away from it not knowing what it is. The red basket tips over so that water starts filling it quickly.
Is there a forest fire around here? You swim to the surface and get a clearer image of the helicopter. You have to do a double-take because you swear you see Spencer sitting in the passenger seat. He looks down and waves at you to tell you that it’s him and not some stranger. He motions for you to get into the basket with his hands, and you look at it with uncertainty. If Spencer is behind this then you have to trust him.
If you continue to think about this, then you’re going to convince yourself not to do it. Instead, you swim over to the basket and swim inside so that when the helicopter lifts the basket out of the water, you go with it. The water starts draining from the bottom of the basket since that’s how these things are designed, but you have faith that you’ll have enough water to make it to the ocean. You’ve never seen the forest from an aerial view. You never knew this place expanded so far. The higher you go, the smaller your temporary home gets.
Is this really happening? Are you finally able to get back to the ocean where you belong? Will you finally see your family after so many centuries apart from them? Will they even remember you? You grip the side of the basket and look over the edge at the world down below you. This is by far the coolest thing you’ve ever done, and it’s all thanks to Spencer. You look up and meet Spencer’s eyes who has been watching you this entire time.
The smile on your face and the bright blue color of your tail is enough to tell him how happy you are.
The helicopter flies to the ocean and gets close enough so that when the bucket is tipped over, you don’t have a high dive into the ocean. The sting of the salt water hurts but it’s a good kind of pain. It’s the kind of pain that you long for. It’s going to take months or years for your body to get accustomed to salt water after being out of it for so long but you welcome the challenge.
You laugh and swim around in circles as the helicopter drops Spencer off where it’s safe. He comes rushing down the beach to greet you. You don’t care if there are thousands of eyes on you or just his, you jump out of the water, do a flip, and dive back into the water.
Mermaids can’t cry underwater since the tears blend in with the water, but when you surface to greet Spencer, you can feel your tears flowing down your cheeks.
“You’re home now. How does it feel?”
“I can’t ever thank you enough, Spencer. I don’t--I can’t--I’m speechless. I’ve wanted this for so long,” you sob happily.
Spencer doesn’t care if his clothes are getting wet, he waddles into the water so that he’s eye level with you like how you two were in the lake. You pounce on him and hug him tightly, and he hugs you back just the same.
“How can I ever repay you?” you ask and pull away just far enough to look into his eyes.
“I didn’t do this for that. I did it because no one deserves to be away from their home.”
“I’ve never met anyone like you before, Spencer Reid.”
“I’ve never met anyone like you.” He reaches up and caresses your cheek and runs his thumb along your cheekbone. “I don’t know how we’re going to make this work, but I want to try and make it work with you.”
“This isn’t going to be a normal relationship. Humans aren’t meant to be in water as long as I can.”
“I’ll be in as long as I can if it means I get to be with you.”
“I can’t ever have children with you.”
“Children are overrated.”
“I can’t ever leave the water.”
“If I have to, I’ll get a house on the beach so you’ll be in my backyard.”
“There’s going to be a lot of problems we’ll face.”
“We’ll overcome them together.”
“Do you really want this?”
“I really want this. Do you?”
“If it’s with you, always.”
You two meet each other halfway, and you kiss him with everything you’ve got. Where there’s a will, there’s a way. If Spencer can get you out of a lake and transport you hundreds of miles away without getting you out of the water, then you two can overcome anything.
After all, the man did what you thought was the impossible.
A Breath: Azul Ashengrotto
Summary: You swim with Azul
A/N: More action writing practice with a short scene featuring you and Azul! This one was inspired by me finding my sign language dictionary in a box of books today while listening to songs about the ocean <3
CW: underwater scene, ASL, romantic imagery, Azul merform
Tumblr media
"Everything is in order now. Shall we begin?"
The small, wooden boat you sit in rocks gently on the warm summer sea. The waves are calm and the sparkling color of sunset. You lightly clasp the side of the boat for stability, your hands damp with sea spray, and you nod silently to Azul with quiet excitement rising in your smiling face. Sitting across from you in the boat, he smiles back at you with gentle pleasure and then extends a closed hand out towards you. His fingers are delicately curled around a small glass vial sealed with a cork stopper. The pale, opalescent liquid inside of it swirls in the same languid motion as the ocean around you. In a fluid movement, your hand reaches out to receive and then open the vial. With no hesitation, you drink the liquid inside and the glittering taste of magic, refreshing as starlight, washes over your tongue.
You eyes open wide as a sudden feeling, like a curtain of bubbles, rises to the top of your head and Azul laughs softly, appreciatively. Gently taking your hand in his, he turns to the side of the boat to look down into the water. You turn to look as well, mirroring his actions. He glances at you from the side of his eye, a smile of anticipation dancing over his lips, and he gives your hand a small squeeze. With simultaneous grace, the two of you dive over the side of the boat and plunge deep into the waves.
After the initial rush of water in your ears has settled, you tentatively open your eyes. Looking up, you see the rays of the setting sun flickering in scales of light across the ocean waves far above you. Your body feels weightless yet there is also a sense of slight, even pressure on every part of you. You hold your breath and put your hands against your head as you start to become a little disoriented from the sudden shift of environment. You feel a brief, gentle touch on your arm and you look over at Azul, floating in the water an arm's length away. With tender concern on his face, he spreads both hands across his chest and slightly moves them outwards, then back again. Next, he points his palms downward, fingers angled towards you, and moves his hands down in a calming motion.
Breathe. Calmly.
Keeping your eyes focused on the cool gray color of Azul’s eyes, you take in several deep breaths and slowly lower your hands to relax weightless at your sides. Azul smiles, satisfied and relieved, and his eyes sparkle brighter than treasure under the waves. Breathing easily now, you take in the sight of Azul’s form and feel your eyes grow wide with wonder. You see the way his pale hair dances weightless across his cheeks, the endless curving and smooth motion where his stiff legs used to be. With only one thought in your mind, you slowly point to Azul. You then raise your open hand with fingertips pointed up, thumb pointed to your chin, and you circle your hand clockwise around your face, ending the motion with your fingertips closed against your thumb and pointed to your chin.
You’re beautiful.
Azul smiles with shy pleasure, the joy in his eyes a reflection of yours. He raises a deliberate hand to point back at you. Then, he raises both hands palm down, with the sides of his index fingers pressed together pointed to you, and the remainder of his fingers pointed back at him. He separates his hands slightly and taps them together twice.
You also.
Wish rewrite ✨ pt.3
This is the third part of my rewrite of "Wish." The first part is here and the second is here.
Things are starting to heat up now. Hold on tight!
Finding proof: Asha and Star sneak into the castle the same way she did last time (him using his abilities greatly simplifies this particular break-in lol) and she takes him to the room that’s holding the wishes. He floats up towards them to get a closer look, staring at each almost lovingly. In contrast to how a few days ago, she would impatiently tell him to focus whenever he was distracted, she gently tells him they need to focus. After some searching for evidence, (including a humorous bit where Star finds a dumb waiter and Asha says “Well, that would have made things SO MUCH easier the last time I was here”), he finds a secret passage to another room. The two investigate and find it to be full of books, scrolls, and artifacts covered in cobwebs. They look around, with Star finding an old journal, but before he can open it, Asha calls him over to a book she found. It’s titled “The Chronicles of Stars” and it contains info about the history of Rosas; stuff that Asha was never taught nor was anyone else. Star suddenly hears Magnifico coming. They leave the room with the book in tow and close the passage before hiding on the same balcony Asha did before. They’re relieved… until Asha notices her bracelet is gone! It fell off in their haste to exit the secret room. As Magnifico starts to reopen the entrance, Star sneaks past him disguised as a mouse and finds her bracelet. He takes it and hides while watching Magnifico read from the old journal. It was written by the king from many years ago who started the whole wish granting system. It has the evidence that Asha needs; formulas, spells, everything pertaining to capturing and destroying wishes and gaining more power. While he continues reading, Star sneaks back out and onto the balcony with the bracelet. Asha is so happy that she hugs him, thanking him repeatedly. He blushes (his cheeks glow brighter) and is stunned. They then use the dumb waiter to escape.
Magnifico finds book missing; “This is the Thanks I Get?”: Magnifico is becoming more agitated as he looks through the journal. He wants to know if there’s anything he can do about this bad omen, but the text fails to tell him anything he doesn’t already know. His eyes wander and he notices a gap on one of the book shelves. A specific book is missing. His frustration reaches a boiling point and he storms out to the main room. Amaya enters and finds him visibly angry. She asks him what’s wrong and he replies “You called them a ‘traitor’. No, no, I think a ‘rat’ is more appropriate.” He elaborates on one of the “forbidden history books” being gone and she’s alarmed. Finding whoever is challenging their power is of the utmost importance now and Amaya leaves to prepare. This version of “This Is the Thanks I Get?” has a more ominous tone. It starts off calm like “Be Prepared” and “Hellfire” and it gradually escalates, conveying how Magnifico is losing control (literally and figuratively). It culminates into him yelling the title in pure rage at the end of the song, much like in the movie. The lyrics highlight how ungrateful Rosas is - in his eyes, anyway - and scoffs at how these peasants think they’re more powerful than him. It also shows how determined he is to not be the king who ruins this great empire. There’s an additional scary bit where he proclaims that he’ll find the traitor and “snuff out [their] light” while crushing a random object in his hand to emphasize his point.
History lesson: Asha mulls over the history book as she and Orion/Star walk through town. When she admits that it won’t be enough to get the people on their side, he tells her (through body language and very tiny star dust images that no one but her can see) about the old journal. She’s excited to hear this and says that perhaps their endeavour will be over soon, which makes them both pause. This is good news… right? They make their way to the bakery, but unbeknownst to them, someone overheard their plans of taking down Magnifico and Amaya: Simon. The pair meet with Dahlia, who is gobsmacked that they stole something from the castle. Still, she joins in on reading the book, finding it too enticing to ignore. Before the inception of wish granting, the people of Rosas looked to the stars. They told stories about them, created legends, believed that they were magical, and they helped the kingdom prosper because of the hope they brought. Asha, Dahlia, and everyone else was taught that Rosas before the wish granting era was struggling and in chaos (as was said in “Welcome to Rosas”). Why would the royals lie and seal this part of their history away? Orion/Star excuses himself outside when he notices Sabino helping another person with their wish. Sabino compliments his and Asha’s efforts in lifting everyone’s spirits, noting that there’s been a ripple effect of people helping each other. Orion/Star looks around and sees that the people still look tired, albeit not nearly as downtrodden. He spots the town's tavern and a few townspeople whose wishes were a variation of wanting to play music and he gets an idea.
Simon’s betrayal: As Amaya gets everything in order for a kingdom-wide search for the traitor, a guard approaches and tells her that a commoner has info about someone conspiring against her and the king. The royal couple meet with Simon, who tells them about Asha’s plans, what she's been doing, and that she stole a book from them. Both are pleased by the intel and Magnifico summons Simon’s wish: he wants to be a brave and honourable knight. “Thank you, Simon,” he says. “You’ve been very helpful.” He crushes the wish and absorbs its power. Simon is shocked and the couple order that he be taken to the dungeon. “But my wish… why did you…?” Simon asks in disbelief. “You ratted out a friend for selfish gain,” Amaya answers. “You’re not fit to be brave and honourable.” Simon is left speechless as he’s dragged off. Back in the wish room, Magnifico expresses his excitement about bringing Asha in. He also pulls out a magical staff that has been passed down throughout the wish granting era. Amaya glances up at the remaining wishes and tells her husband that she has a better idea on how to put an end to all this nonsense.
Tavern party: Asha and Dahlia leave the bakery still contemplating what they read. Their chat eventually turns towards Orion/Star; specifically him and Asha. Asha tells her nothing will happen even though it’s obvious she feels something, too. (“Besides, he’ll be leaving Rosas soon.” “It’s possible that he may choose to stay.” “Maybe… but let’s be realistic.”) They’re interrupted by a party going on in the nearby tavern. Everyone seems so happy and carefree; a stark contrast to what the two friends are used to seeing. And encouraging this merriment is Orion/Star. Dahlia is effortlessly won over by the atmosphere and Asha, while enjoying the sight of everyone having fun, keeps to herself. There’s singing, dancing, funny stories told in musical form, it’s a blast! After a while, Orion/Star approaches Asha and holds his hand out (Would you like to dance?). She accepts and joins in on the group dancing. (during "Welcome to Rosas" and the "Montage" song, we got hints of Asha's dancing talents, but she has restrained herself from actually showing it... until now) Bystanders cheer her on and she’s clearly soaking up the good vibes. She feels free and at ease for the first time in years. A humorous accident brings the music to an abrupt halt and Asha laughs along with everyone else. Orion/Star sees her full of such joy and smiles adoringly. He’s head over heels. After a heart-to-heart with Sakina about how everyone seems happier, Asha and Orion/Star leave to be alone.
(It’s worth noting that this party scene is a nod to the ‘Silly Song’/‘Yodel Song’ sequence in “Snow White,” right down to a comedic accident (i.e. Sneezy sneezing and sending Dopey flying) ending it)
Tumblr media
Magnifico and Amaya frame Asha: The people are summoned to an emergency announcement from the king and queen. Feigning grief and outrage, they tell their subjects that Asha has destroyed all the wishes. Everyone is shocked, though many are confused. That doesn't sound right. She's been helping them make their wishes come true. Magnifico convinces them that she's been manipulating them into turning against him and Amaya. (akin to Frollo's "That wasn't kindness! That was cunning!" remark to Quasimodo about Esmeralda) Moreover, he points out that she has not helped everyone. Their charisma and fake compassion for the people's well-being unfortunately works on a majority of the residents. Not all are swayed; Sakina sticks up for her daughter, saying that she would never do something so horrible. Sabino agrees, then Dario, then a few other townspeople. "Well, it's clear where your loyalties lie," Magnifico says in an icy tone before ordering them to be sent to the dungeon, along with anyone else who sides with Asha. Dahlia doesn't say anything.
Asha and Star alone; “At All Costs”: After walking through the woods, Asha and Star reach the shore. She confesses that she can't believe all that they have achieved so far. "It's like a dream," she says. They look out at how the stars in the sky are beautifully reflected on the ocean. It's here that they grasp with the inevitability of him leaving after they save Rosas. She has accepted it ("Let's be realistic" as she often says). He hasn't. It would mean leaving her. He thinks for a moment before standing her directly in front of him. His fingers touch her lips, then his, then he runs them along her ears leaving a trail of star dust. Before she can question what he did, she hears a deep, soft voice: "Asha." It's him! It's Star! "You can...?" "Not for long." Unlike the other songs, "At All Costs" is almost exactly like its original version (i.e. the demo version). Admittedly, some lyrics are clunky and need tweaking, but other than that it's largely the same. In this sequence, there's levitation, dancing in the air and on the water, decorating her dress with star dust, and when they sing "There's no ocean I won't swim across" they create a wave to cascade around them, showering them in the reflection of the stars above. Additionally, while Asha will periodically take time to marvel at the gorgeous sights around her, Star rarely - if ever - takes his eyes off her. An all-around romantic and magical number. It ends with them landing back on the shore where they started, the star dust along Asha's ears disappearing. They hesitantly lean in to kiss... until Star suddenly turns his head towards the city. He hears something. Rosas sounds like it's in a frenzy.
bangchan boyfriend headcanons
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
genre: fluff
word count: 0.8k
warnings: none
requested?: yes
song rec: my universe - coldplay, bts
author's notes: in honour of chan day, here is some bangchan bf headcanons. i may or may not have cried whilst writing this. i just love him so much ;-; anyways, i really hope you enjoy this one! happy chan day <333
Tumblr media
guys...
oh my gosh i can't breathe-
okay, okay
i don't think you understand how much this guy means to me. this guy. the most beautiful, gentle, gorgeous man in the whole world. this person who's very existence is why i am still here today. bangchan. bang christopher chan. chrissy boi
however has the privilege of dating this one should know that they are the luckiest person in the whole wide world
bangchan as a boyfriend? he puts his all into the relationship. being the leader of stray kids has taught him many things: patience, kindness, empathy, compromise, understanding. he is well equipped for any sort of human interaction, if we're being honest. he is also prone to be protective, taking a more caring role is natural for him. as a boyfriend, he will look out for you. make sure you stay out of harms way, protect you from the press, sasaengs, paparazzi, toxic fans, idols, anyone who hurts your feelings, your reputation, your image.
you are like the kids in the sense that you become chan's top priority.
speaking of the kids, you will have to get on well with them. the other members as so important to chan because they are essentially his family. so getting along with them is a must and non-negotiable, tbh
and they welcome you with open arms, anyway, seeing how happy you. make chan. you all end up being one big happy family, its lovely
but it's baffling, really. because at first, chan was a bit concerned that being in a relationship would be extremely difficult because of his tight schedule
and, much like i said with hongjoong, he's a quality time guy. he craves a one-on-one connection with someone, to really get to know them well and to understand their thoughts, feelings, and opinions. which is hard because he literally has no time at all. but somehow, magically, he manages. and much better than he thought he would
and it's because he absolutely thrives in a relationship. he finally has someone to commit to. something to look forward to. something that give shis life a new meaning. a brighter joy that he has never quite experienced before. sure, he's living his dream, but it's not easy. his life is hectic and tough and crazy and busy and lonely. and therefore he values, much more deeply than others, the feeling of companionship
to love and to be loved. that's what he desires the most. that's what he needs
because this man has so much love to give. he will hold you close to him and never ever let you go
cuddles are a necessity! he's very physically affectionate and essentially wants to be close to you in any way. he doesn't even care if he's the big spoon or little spoon. if he's. a big spoon, he feels like he is protecting you and it feels so good holding you close in his arms. but if he's the little spoon, he would feel so safe and loved and cherished as you hold him tight. he lives for any type of cuddles <3
overall, being in a relationship with chan would be extremely important for him for one key reason: you make him feel like he is at home. he finds himself being so comfortable around you; he is free to be himself, with no judgement. he feels safe with you. that's something he can never deny. you are his best friend, his family, his soulmate. a massive part of his life. he never underestimates how much you mean to him. and he never takes you for granted. not once.
dates with him would include:
studio dates - yes, i know, how predictable. the usual setting of every chan fic out there, i get it, i get it. but he loves it when you're at the studio with him. sometimes you guys work together, just quiet and enjoying each others comfortable company, ordering takeaway food at midnight, falling to sleep together in the early hours of the morning. or you guys just mess around and get like zero work done. either way, he loves it
binge-watching - he counts this as a date. he wants nothing more than after a long day working at the studio, coming home to you snuggling up in his arms in his bed while he puts on a movie or anime or tv show you guys have been watching. it's one of his favourite moments ever. it makes him feel so warm and happy
fireworks display - kinda cliché but also totally his vibe. i think he's watched so many anime with romance fireworks scenes that he's just like 'yep, we have to do this.' and it's breathtaking how perfect it all is. a beautiful moment shared with a beautiful man
i hope chan chooses happiness, above all else <3
How long is forever?
Yang Jeongin x reader
Summary: Summary: your best friend Jeongin is moving away to become a K-pop idol. Years later you go to surprise him at a concert. He asks you when are you going to see him again and you jokingly say forever. How long is forever?
**
You and Jeongin have always been close as long as you can remember. He was your only friend and you were his only friend. You stuck together like glue and loved each other.
“Foxy! I’m here,”
“Y/nnie!”
You both hugged each other very tightly while their parents laughed. You both run upstairs to go play with your stuffed animals. Your parents called out to you but you didn't hear what they said because all you were focused on was Jeongin.
"So...Y/nnie.. I won't be here for your birthday,"
"What!? Why not? Did you find another best friend? I came to your tenth birthday so why can't you come to mine?"
"Well...my mom wants me to try something new...We're moving back to South Korea next week-"
"What...?"
You were completely devastated. You thought he came to stay with you in America forever... But now he's leaving for god knows how long. But there would always be a memory of him in the back of your mind.
**
The day has come...
You and your mother are at the airport with Jeongin, his mom, and his dad. You couldn't even look at Jeongin.
"Y/nnie..."
He almost started crying. He just wants you to say something or at least look at him. It wasn't his choice and you know that, but it still hurt like hell. You were his safe space, his best friend forever and he had to leave... he had to leave you. He didn't care for anything else in America but you.
"Remember me..."
You go up to him and kissed his cheek and hugged him, refusing to let go. Then you felt something being put on your wrist. It was a bracelet that said 'Y/nnie'. Then he showed you a bracelet that said 'Foxy' on it.
Then it was time for him to board the plane. You gave him one last hug and said another goodbye.
**
You walked around your college's campus bored as ever. It was only a matter of time until you graduated. Even though you're only 21, time has been flying by quicker than you ever expected to be.
Then, your friend, Irene runs up to you with a smile brighter than the sun.
"A K-pop group is performing at our college, girly!"
"Irene, you know I'm not into that kind of-"
"You're never interested in anything. But anyway, look at the flyer for it!"
There are the words STRAY KIDS bolded on top of the paper with the members names underneath it. There's Bangchan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N (Jeongin).
"Wait! Jeongin?"
"Yeah, he's the youngest of the group. So...are you coming with? I got two backstage passes! Wouldn’t want to waste them, would we?
"Yeah...I guess I'll go,"
..
You are at the concert in the third row. You see people from your college and people who aren't from your college to. Maybe it was leftover tickets and other people decided to go.
They are performing their opening song, LALALALA. You start to smile because you are actually liking the music. Until you hear a familiar voice with a familiar face...
"몸부림치며 roll 냅다 던져버려 맞닥뜨려 세상의 소음"
"Jeongin.."
You mumbled to yourself. Could it actually be? Was it him?
..
About 50 people were lined up for the meet and greet backstage. You were so nervous about seeing you friend that you haven't seen in over 6 years.
“Irene I’m so scared…”
“What is it to be scared of?”
“What if he remembers me and it’s kinda awkward or if he doesn’t remember and that’s even more awkward—
“Girl…you really need to stop your rambling…please,”
..
Soon enough it was your turn… you walked forward but you stopped because of your name being called.
“Y/nnie!”
You felt to nervous to respond…so you smiled as he came up to you .
Finally you gathered up all the courage you had and said something…
“I’m glad to see you again, foxy,”
^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^_^
So I’m kinda leaving yall on a cliffhanger ig. I didn’t have time to write it because I’m so busy and recently I’ve been all over the place so…yeah
It probably won’t be posted until the end of February but idk
LOVE U!
